CSUN students who dine at Emle's will miss college after they leave town. It's a very good family-run restaurant, with home-cooked foods, but quite plain inside. In a neighborhood shopping center; nothing fancy. Just good food, decent-sized helpings, moderate prices, friendly service, and on our short list of restaurants in the N. San Fernando Valley.

Sunday breakfast is always a treat. Sunday breakfast at Emle's is always an adventure. The menu is extensive, but my 'go to' is a waffle with chopped pecans and bacons bits baked right into it. The syrup has a touch of cinnamon in it. Emle's is family owned and all of the family members pitch in with smiles and attention to details. BTW: the stuffed grape leaves are excellent, too. I often pick up an order to take home and savor!

Delicious food and reasonable price. There were so many interesting things on the menu it was hard to choose, but we went for daily specials of halibut and stuffed salmon. These entrees cost more than others on the menu but we're still under $20. Entrees come with Dense bread with herb infused dipping oil and soup or salad. Lots of fresh of fresh basil was evident in our food. Service was very attentive.

This place is presently good it's also family owned so they make you feel part of the family. The food is great.

The sign said "Best Breakfast" so we stopped in. The place looked bright and clean, but as we were soon to find, that was the only good thing about it. It took forever to get anyone to acknowledge that we were there and when someone finally did, it seemed like they were upset by having to wait on us. And that was the good news! The food (when it finally showed up a long time later) was awful. Overdone eggs and some kind of soggy waffles turned everyone off, and not even the coffee was good.

Our family just enjoyed our 3rd consecutive Christmas Day breakfast, and it was great. Three of us had the Emle's Special and one had the Greek Omelette. We also had a Mimosa along with coffee. Everything was wonderful! The service was very attentive and professional. We will be back!

I think Emle is trying to do too much. We ordered a mix of cioppino, steaks, and lamb chops. When the food came, after a long wait, the cioppino and lamb chops were warm, and the stuffed filet, which was the special, was cold, and had to be sent back. I think it would have been better to the the mezzes!

I wrote a review a year ago and Emile’s was very good at that time . Since then they’ve hired a new chef and offer many new dishes, along with all the old favorites. The food was always excellent, but now it’s AMAZING! The service is A+++++++ perfect ! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. People talk about hidden gems , well this is the hidden Hope Diamond ! Absolutely, positively one of Northridge’s top restaurants! TRY IT, YOU’LL LIKE IT !

In all fairness, it was just breakfast. Food was fine, although the eggs were a tad cold, and the service was a bit slower than it should have been. Prices were also a little higher than the quality warranted. Nothing terribly wrong, but haven't been back in a while and in no rush to go back.

Fairly priced. Great tasting. Clean. Fast service. The ham & cheese croissant comes with eggs, but I ordered it on the side. Keeping the eggs in the croissant can cause the sandwich to get soggy

Portions large enough for 2 meals but not particularly wonderful. Very average quality and certainly edible but nothing to rave over.

This is our "go to" restaurant for great food, accomodating service, and a huge variety. Went this past Friday for dinner and was pleasantly surprised that they now have a live pianist on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. He was terrific and it added a great ambience to go with the delicious (and well presented) food. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Emle's is a Mediterranean style restaurant located in Reseda in the San Fernando Valley. The menu extends past ethnic food and is prepared fresh. The tastes and aromas are mouthwatering. it feels as if there is a tiny twist in the food to make it unique. The service is excellent. The ambiance is comfortable. I highly recommend eating here.

This place service is amazing. Owner is very friendly and helpful. The food is incredible. Try the Florentine breakfast- if you like eggs of couse. They are dog friendly and even have a clip where you can hook your dog's leash. I highly recommend this place. Very family friendly.

The service is terrible and slow. The staff is unprofessional. I went for breakfast. It took over 30 minutes to get a bagel and my wife's bacon and eggs. The waiter/host was rude and made excuses. When i didn't tip him he became irate and shouted expletives. I was followed to my car and threatened with bodily harm. Not a place I would;d recommend for anyone.

Finally, we found a great breakfast place! The portions are large, so if you try their signature breakfast French Toast, make sure you order the half portion. The service was good, the menu is extensive, with a mix of traditional American and Middle Eastern selections. I can't wait to try their lunch or even dinner. Conveniently located, ample parking, patio seating as well as conventional and even though it was full, you still got excellent service. Homemade Hummous and middle eastern appetizers to eat their or take home. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. So tired of the same old mundane breakfast eateries. Very refreshing.

We have been coming to this family- owned restaurant for about 7 years. The variety of dishes offered is very impressive. . . . Whether you want breakfast, lunch or dinner. The portions are generous and they are very accomodating. My husband wanted a Greek salad and there was only an entree- sized one on the menu but the proprietor was happy to make a "half salad" and it was huge. They have added a brick pizza oven which turns out thin, crispy pizzas with a Mediterranean flair. Try it and you'll be hooked.

First time here for breakfast for party of 7. Pancakes with berries, pancakes with Nutrella, French toast, Moroccan Shakshuka, scrambled eggs, side of chick peas -- all very, very good! Service was great even though they were very busy (Sunday). We had no trouble parking. Locals in our party had never been and said Emle's will now be on their restaurant rotation.

Great eggs Benedict and assorted goodies are served in this place by the owner and the owners son. The atmosphere won't blow you away but the quality of the food and the prices for something to appreciate

Good nearby strip-mall restaurant with full meals for dinner. I had calamari steak meal wi th abundant capers in a sauce that was fine if a little flat and lukewarm. (A bit more lemon juice! is my suggestion) with the aforementioned fresh al-dente steamed veggies. Good bean soup but again just a little flat. More herbs in the soup might help, and fewer in the bread dip below. My friends chose the salad option for their meals. Really good tasting, hot yeast bread was served. I would have preferred it with butter but they had a good balsamic/herb vinegar mixture with some olive oil to dip it into instead. I am used to plainer Middle Eastern bread being dunked into a flavorful dipping sauce like this. Such a good, yeasty bread should have butter in my opinion. But I did not ask for this option.

A friend of mine suggested we go to lunch at Emle's. I had never been to Emle's and wanted to check out the reviews. There were no reviews for the lunch or dinner that I could find...only breakfast. We arrived just after 1pm on a weekday and there were only 4 occupied tables. The service was excellent. I ordered the Chicken Kafta Kabob with a House Salad. It also comes with bread and Emle's Dip which appeared to be olive oil and incredible spices which I loved. The rice was cooked to perfection as was the chicken kafta. There was also a side of freshly cooked vegetables cooked al dente which is exactly how I like my veggies. As the title says, the portions are large and there was no way I had room for dessert. I will definitely go back and sample more items from their menu.

I must say one of my fav things about this place is they serve breakfast all day! They use fresh and fine ingredients, the staff are very friendly SHOUT OUT TO MIKE! Hey! You are the greatest! And I honestly think they something for everyone!

Friends told us about this restaurant which used to be on Reseda and Nordhoff. Small, casual and seems to be a popular breakfast experience. We were there for dinner and ordered a fried mushroom sandwich which was excellent and vegan. Not busy when we were there and the menu is interesting.

Large varied menu, great service and consistently good food. When we visit SoCal, in particular, the Valley, we always have breakfast here and have been doing so for years.

Both the food and the service have always been outstanding. I have been there over a dozen times and have never had anything but amazing, delicious food. The servers have always been very attentive and excellent. The menu has a lot of variety; there is something for everyone. I highly recommend Emle's for any meal, any time of the day.

We went here for Valentine's Day dinner last night and had a wonderful time & great meal. We didn't realize how popular this place is because it was packed inside with people waiting outside by the time we finished our meal! We opted or the middle eastern menu items and our kabobs were very tasty! Even with the place being slammed, service was very good. They even had a couple of local musicians providing music-nice touch!

I have tried many different things on the menu and have enjoyed them all. My favorites are the shish kabob and the kafta kabob. The service is very good. Any problems are corrected quickly. The menu is extensive. If I had any complaints it would be that the menu is a bit too long, but that is relatively minor in the scheme of things.

Great place for breakfast.

We had a late breakfast and upon entering the restaurant it is clean and airy feeling good ambiance. We had a mushroom, spinach, cheese omelet split into two which they did it with a smile, a burrito breakfast and a half order of French toast that's popular here. We would say that the breakfast is good but looking at the lunch and dinner menu sounds good too. Will try to be back either lunch or dinner...

If you are an international and would like something different in terms of breakfast; this is the place for you. The Turkish coffee alone justifies the visit, the French Toast is quite good although hefty but thats America for you. The omelet variety will stress you out but acceptable. Go early...

We had breakfast for 7 on Thanksgiving morning, and all was very good. This was our second time there, and we will be back. Their service is outstanding, and the food is very good.

Lovely restaurant run by very friendly folks. Owner and many in his staff hail from Lebanon, I believe. You are treated like family. A bit pricey but large portions for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many meals Americans are familiar with, but many with a twist. My yogurt parfait for example had huge amount of yogurt in a bowl with blueberries strawberries, granola AND pistachios! Giant burgers. Yummy fries. And Middlle Eastern dishes with stuffed grape leaves, fava beans, kabobs, and stews. Right down the street from the western entrance to California State University-Northridge.

Attention, all academicians, conferees and parents of students heading to California State University in Northridge: a delicious breakfast, brunch or dinner awaits just a short walk from campus at Emle’s Restaurant. We first wandered into this longtime local favorite for a weekend breakfast and found the place packed with a mix of diners every bit as eclectic as Emle’s extensive menu—a menu billed as “American cuisine with a Mediterranean flair.” I loved the Nippy Spanish Omelet I ordered on my first visit but flipped the second time around for the Foul (pronounced fool) Moddamas, a classic Middle Eastern breakfast consisting of fava beans steeped in a lemony broth with garlic and herbs to spoon over warm pita. Located a block from the CSUN campus, Emle’s spacious and sunny interior was recently renovated to include a massive, stone-clad wood fire pizza oven. We arrived for dinner intending to try the pizza but were seduced by a seasonal special on offer: fresh, perfectly prepared halibut served in a delicious wine sauce reminiscent of a beurre blanc with generous sides of garlic-herb mashed potatoes and crisp-tender vegetables. The wine list was surprisingly good and well priced. For dessert we shared a slice of key lime pie that was fresh, tart and velvety smooth, just the way a true key lime pie should be. Any time of day, you seriously can’t miss here.

I have recently discovered this place, and it is quickly becoming a favorite. I love the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich! Service is always friendly and prompt, and portions are generous. There is inside and outside sitting, and a parking lot. Highly recommend and will be back.

For some reason, this is the only restaurant in Northridge where you can sit near a window with sunlight streaming and not feel crowded in by tight booths and noisy people. The menu is varied. The service is always excellent. They have long-term staff who always treat you well. The food is good. A lunch or dinner favorite is their Lamb Shank. They have this odd french toast covered with a funnel cake. This MUST be shared with at least two or three people. The main reason for dropping one star? 1) Their bread - either it tastes nuked or it's not consistently good. Though, I just learned that they have bagels. So that's an alternative. (They used to bake some rolls, or have french bread a while back.) 2) Their breakfast potatoes are terrific - except they are soaked in garlic. Not everyone wants to start the day and go to the office smelling like garlic. (When they aren't busy, and I have time to wait, sometimes, I can ask them to make the potatoes without garlic. But they've gotten busy lately. This is my favorite place to meet with out of town guests. It's easy to find, has good parking and is a comfortable place to have a conversation you can actually hear. They have outside tables. And they have music during the weekends.

We discovered Emles years ago while visiting relatives in the valley and return for breakfast when in the area. Clean, modern place, fair prices, tasty food, large variety.

We had breakfast there on Christmas Day. It was great as usual. The food (particularly the Italian Omelette, the French Toast & the banana bread) was great. Service is prompt and professional, and the prices are reasonable. And it’s great that they’re open on holidays. We will definitely be back.

Excellent We invited our friends from China to have a dinner ,they asked fatusha grape leaves , thyme manosha and eggplant mosaagaah it was awesome clean they enjoyed the meal .the price was reasonable
Great Breakfast, Great Service!
My husband and I, along with about 20 friends had breakfast at Emle’s on Friday 6/8/12. Emle’s serves California and Middle Eastern Cuisine. The owner’s name is Nick and he is very kind. He started his restaurant in 1955 in Carmel where Emle’s gained fame for its breakfasts, especially it's French Toast. When his kids went to college, he moved the restaurant to Northridge. The atmosphere is nice & bright with two of the walls being windows. It had a clean, happy, cheerful feel. I had the All Fresh Vegetable Omelet ($9.99) and made it an egg white omelet, fresh fruit, and the banana bread. I loved my omelet – fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, green onions, and bell peppers. You can have a choice of cheese, but I chose not to have cheese. The banana bread is home-made by Nick himself, and it was really good! My husband ordered Nick’s Special ($11.99) - 3 Eggs, 3 Bacon, Sausage, Ham, & Choice of Potato, Tomato, Cottage Cheese or Fresh Fruits, & Toast, Pancake or Half Classic French Toast. And to share with everyone, he also ordered a half order of their famous French toast ($6.99) - unique, batter cooked, thick egg bread and beautifully topped with powdered sugar, cinnamon and crushed almonds. It’s really a funnel cake on top of French toast! There’s regular maple syrup, and a home-made syrup that Nick made with cinnamon and cardamom. The food is great, and so is the service! I plan to come back for lunch or dinner. I’ve heard they serve great Middle Eastern food.
