Went here while visiting because I really wanted oysters close to the source that we import them from on the east coast. I was hesitant because the oysters are very expensive but decided to try it out. I got a 12 oysters for like $27 and they were good, not the best I've had but good. Also the service was really slow, for a "raw bar". All and all it was okay, not sure it is worth the wait time, oysters, price but it was alright.

We didn’t go here intentionally, but the place we wanted to eat was packed. My wife got fish and chips and I got shrimp and chips. The fish was exceptional. I think the shrimp was just commissary frozen shrimp. The fries tasted homemade and were really good. Not a bad place in the Pike Place Market area, but there are better places for the price.

This was a great little lunch break. The restaurant is small and cozy. The weather was cold so a bowl of soup was perfect. I had the oyster stew-simple and full of flavor.

I really fancied Fried Oyster and chips, as I had only had them fresh before, so I noticed a sign for them and I found this restaurant down a little cooe, a little snicket , or alley way as we say in England. I saw their blackboard with fried oysters on it, and was lost. We walked in, and sat down on the lovely comfy padded swivel seats with backs. We ordered and while we were waiting , we looked around as this bar area looked like a pirate ships captain cabin, with a bell and all the decoration on the walls. It was too hot to sit out side, and we had ordered a takeaway, as I like Oysters and my hubby would eat chips til the cows came home and never put an ounze on. Our hosts gave us an iced water each while they cooked the meal,(12.95) and in a short while later we left with our Fried Oysters and chips, walked a few steps to a pair of empty wooden tip up seat, and shared the meal. The Oysters seemed to be dipped in egg and breadcrumbs and fried, and the fries wre still in their skins but thin - Yummy xx

Ordered a dozen oysters, 5 of which should not have been served. We then ordered fish and chips and got three small pieces that had been breaded and frozen then fried. Awful. No wonder there was no line to get in

While at a Pike market we asked what would be the place around for oysters and were advised to visit Emett Watson's. Well, ca't say much about food and prces. But speed of service was blistering. Or non-service. We walked in, guys asked what we wanted, once we started saying first words, he declared 'Not Interested!' turned his back to us and walked away to another customer. Obviously we didn't stay any longer.

It was an absolutely beautiful Seattle day and we were able to find a little sliver of sun at an outside table. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient, but I could see the possibility of things running not so smoothly if the place was packed. I would have enjoyed my lunch a GREAT deal more with some better bread. Something heartier, with more crust and more flavor than what we got. But overall, an enjoyable spot.

I don't think Emmett Watson's has changed their menu in the past 25 years. This means they have it right. I have never gotten a bad lunch. The sea food is always fresh and well prepared. If it is a view you want, however, Emmett Watsons does not have one. The patio is in a small courtyard and wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of Pike Place. This hidden gem is always worth a stop

The Seafood was great and its @ the Pike Place Market. New ownership worth looking into while at the Market for quick drink or Oyster shooters. Please try for yourself.

Where to start... when asked to sit on the patio, we were told no tables available but we could see 3 tables. They would have had to be reconfigured but it was doable...clearly the staff couldn't have been bothered. Next, a petite man with a Latin accent, who was our server, greeted us with the least amount of enthusiasm. When seeking clarification on some.menu items, he was extremely abrupt and rude...which at first I mistook as sarcastic humor. He seemed so put off by serving us, it was unbelievable. I tried my beer and it most certainly was not an IPA. I asked about this and he said, "well that is what it is..look here" pointing to the tap. I emphatically disagreed because I know beer. I then asked to speak to his manager and he also looked disinterested with the situation. We ended up walking out, but not before we shared with the server that he was rude and argumentative and that he should rethink his attitude. And then we went across the alley and had the most enjoyable happy hour at Canttiba San Patricio.

I ordered the special set, which includes two raw oysters, three shrimps, two slices of bread and a cup of soup of your choice. It was a great deal because you get a bit of everything at an affordable price. So the oysters and shrimps were quite fresh, but one of the oysters was really small. I had shrimp soup, which was tasty and flavorful. The bread was ordinary. I'd say it's not bad food wise, tho not outstanding. The problem about this place is that the service was really bad. I'd not want to come again.

I guess we should have known not to eat at this restaurant when we were very rudely yelled at by one of the waiters to just sit anywhere. The visit went downhill after that when we were served very thick terrible clam chowder, and bland shrimp. The staff doesn’t listen when you talk to them, and are just annoying and rude! Won’t be going back!!

Go here if you are in the market and looking for quality fare, good service, reasonable prices, and a hint of old Seattle. I say this as someone who has lived here for 30 or so years and mourns the loss of family-run establishments like this one. My husband and I split an order of fish and chips and enjoyed a side of coleslaw and Maritime Pacific beers. It was a perfect lunch!

My wife and I were looking for a place to get some local seafood near the market when we stumbled on Emmett Watson's in a back alley courtyard. The menu looked great (and affordable!) so we gave it a try. They have a few tables outside in the courtyard, and we sat out there. We had the steamed clams as an appetizer and they were DELICIOUS! I had the fried captains platter and my wife had the fried shrimp. The breading complimented the seafood, and didn't completely hide it. We would absolutely return again!

Stopped in here for a quick bite.. & the oysters were delicious... Average price for the area.. very friendly service!

They have a great little snack with oysters, shrimp and chowder. Also one of the few places you can get raw oysters in August. Like sitting outside on the patio.

All around this is a great spot. Food and service are excellent. You cannot go wrong with the oysters here. Big shout out to the staff who make this place run like clock work!

Staff is polite, professional, and prompt. Outside seating is in a bird sanctuary. They have no control over the birds, or what they uh do. Anyway, you've been warned. Inside is super clean. I bought fish n chips, that's it. Smallest basket of fries and 3 kind of skinny sticks of fish. wait wait, don't go. Don't scratch them off your list. I've had a lot fries in my life and actually I'm not all that fond of fries. Fries are the only way I will eat potato (or potatoe if you prefer). Otherwise I hate them. Despise potato's. God's wasted vegetable. Me and gollum see eye to eye on this. Aren't they part of the nightshade family? Sorry, I digress. Their fries were really good. Really really good. And while the fish was on the small side, as far as portions go (On A Coastal City FFS!)- they were easily one of the best fried fish I have ever had. I'm only mad about the portion not because I feel short-changed, that's not it at all. What I regret is not being a little more generous with the fish because, seriously, that was some of the best fish ever. A bit of a crunch. Seasoning in the breading, but no oil. Was it even fried? Wonderful flaky white fish with no fishy smell (good fish doesn't smell fishy, generally). But you can't just eat fish n chips plain! nope. You have to have tartar sauce. And perfection is in the details. Their tartar doesn't taste like it came from a 5lb plastic jug from costco. no sirree. While not the best recipe (I've worked at a 4 star with mad geniuses, they're hard to top) their tartar is mighty fine. If you're really hungry and not 5 years old, you'll need more than a basket of fish n chips. Get a salad, maybe soup, a basket of fish n chips- you don't have to eat it all. Try it all, see what you like best. I'm fairly certain the rest of their food is going to be just as good. Or if you just want a great snack, get the fish n chips. Now, not too far from the pig at pike place is a fish monger operation. Not the one that chucks fish at each other. Who does that anyway?? you're going to bruise the fish! Anyway, the other guys. They have fish n chips too. Bigger baskets. But I check out fried food *Before* I buy it. It's unhealthy. If you're going to eat it might as well make sure it's damn good. Theirs does not look damn good. It looks burnt n soggy. Emmet Watsons is the way to go. Even if it's the smallest ... oh nope. Take that back. It was a little bigger than a kid plate I got once on a board walk. Still, it's to die for.

I was just walking around Pike Place and Pike Place Market, enjoying the smells and people watching and the scenery, and I'd gone around this little back alley and the smell of the fresh oysters just flooded my nose, and I decided to go in for a bite, for lunch. I ordered oysters and chips ($12.95) and a glass of pinot grigio -- and I was floored. So simple - so great. The oysters were so fresh and tasted so good, and the chips were really good too. The service was great too, I was mostly on my own in the restaurant (it was like 11:30am, not quite lunch time yet). I had a great lunch, great experience and everyone has to eat there!!

This was a good place to sit down and rest for a short time right close to Pike's Place Market. The food was good and the place had character.

Love that this place has not changed in decade or so! Fresh oysters! Fast and Friendly staff. Love it here!

Emmett’s is my go-to for oysters and chowder whenever I am in Seattle. I like the chill speak-easy vibe and it always feels like I found a hidden gem. Avoid the tourist spots and head to Emmett Watson’s Oyster Bar.

There’s lots of modern places to dine in Seattle but this little place caught my eye. Thought I had stepped back in time. Booths, memorabilia and really old school. The service was great. Battered fish was delicious as was my clam chowder. My wine came in a water glass. Made us all have a good laugh. It is what it is and I really enjoyed it.

After walking through the Pike Place Market we, a group of four, selected Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar for a light lunch. One of us had fish and chips which he enjoyed. One of us had clam chowder which wasn't very good. Two of us had shrimp soup which was absolutely terrible! When we mentioned this to the server he said "Well you ordered it!" He went on to say that he would never eat it either. We asked why he didn't advise us of that and he repeated: You ordered it. On the way out, one of us encountered the cook and told him how bad the soup was. "Well you ordered it." he said. I wouldn't recommend a dog eat at this place and only then if I hated the dog.

Rude server with no sense of customer service. I hope he's gone as he's a dis-service to the establishment

Quiet courtyard. Relaxing after a heavy week. Friendly staff. Good beer and seafood.i had the oyster bar special as it was just right for a light lunch.

I spend a lot of time on Cape Cod and love raw oysters on the half shell. I was so looking forward to Pacific Oysters and searched for the opportunity to enjoy the local variety. My search led me to Emmett Watson’s for the goal of a dozen oysters on the half shell. They said they had two varities from Wahhington and one from Canada. I ordered 4 from each variety. They showed up on two dinner plates? No Ice? They were tepid in temperature to eat which was off putting. Not the experience I was hoping for.

The restaurant is very small and located inside the Pikes Place Market. They also have several TVs if you are interested in watching a game. Their spicy shrimp soup is really good. The oysters are good. Also have a decent selection of beer. Each time we've been there, we've not had any trouble getting a table. A very casual place and good vibe. Their menu is on the back of a paper bag.

Decided to visit this place as it was off the beaten path and offered oysters for less than the places in and around Pjke's Place Market. The service was fast and the oysters did not disappoint. Also had the clam chowder and it was good and smooth -- not pasty. Definitely an alternative to the higher priced joints on the main drag.

Oyster Roll is a musket. Combination of fried oyster, the roll and sauce is a winning trio. Pleasantly surprised. Cons: Very small dining area and when its raining, the outdoor area is closed but they accommodated our group of 13. Quality service to boot.

On the good side Emmett Watson's is near original Starbucks at Pike's Place Market and the atmosphere is quaint with seating inside and on an outdoor patio. But the food was expensive, the service slow, and the wait staff not very attentive. We went to get a light bite to tide us over until dinner...not a good choice. My wife paid $8 for 5 shrimp and I paid $14.50 for a half dozen raw oysters which were not very large. On the Florida gulf coast we pay that much and get a FULL DOZEN raw oysters and they are large enough to hang over the edges of a saltine cracker! Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar is not a place to eat at a good value.

We wanted to try some local oysters and found this hidden gem along the side streets of pikes market! Although not a place to have a full meal personally the menu is pretty so-so. The oysters were amazing and we had to order them twice- and the service was quick and good. We will be back when in Seattle!

Atmosphere is basic. We were there for lunch. I ordered oysters, clam chowder and grilled king salmon. Oysters were very tasty. Clam chowder was average at best while king salmon was very good. My wife ordered the fish and chips which she didn't care for. She didn't like the breading and the fries were soggy. Service was fine. Bottom line is if you go for some fresh oysters and order grilled fish it was very good but not so good if you are thinking of fish and chips. The also had shrimp & chips and oysters & chips which I suspect would use the same breading.

Off the beaten path, Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar is the perfect place to settle in and enjoy an oyster po' boy. The place brings back many memories of time I spent with Emmett Watson in and around Pike Market - an authentic Lesser Seattle advocate with a dry wit. I recommend visitors and new arrivals to Seattle check this out to feel the vibe.

In a town known for seafood this place has poor looking/ tasting seafood eg small bland overpriced oysters-and poor service. Not recommended with so many other places around.

We live in florida and have great seafood. About the only thing we eat is seafood. Shrimp clams mussels fish lobster crab scallops. You name it we eat it perhaps our expectations are a bit high. We just got back from New England and had fantastic seafood. We thought that would be the case in Seattle. We were tired after a long afternoon in the market and figured something called oyster bar would be good. The menu was a little limited and we wanted to try something local or different. I got the oyster sampler with a couple oysters some peel and eat Shrimp and Shrimp soup. The oysters were great the peel and eat shrimp ok and Shrimp soup ok. We also got a salmon soup which was actually kind of interesting and a northwest seafood soup which was also just ok. While not bad we left unimpressed. I would expect in Seattle much better seafood options are available unless you are just looking for oysters.

This is not a fancy place. The menu is written on a greasy paper bag. The shucked oysters were the best I have had in a long time and the presentation was lovely. We had the chowder, the fried oysters, fried shrimp, and the key lime pie. Everything was great. Awesome service and a very friendly staff.

We stopped in here while site seeing in Seattle ordered the chowder and the fried zucchini Both were so delicious..The service very friendly and inviting!

We were in the area and decided to have lunch here. The clam chowder is one of the worst I've ever had. Service not too great either.

Asked an employee at the pike place market for the best fish & chip around (thinking local people know their food spots) and he recommended this place. Fish & Chip was overly priced for three (3) very small pieces of fish and not so great chips. Myself personally won't be going back ever, Plus the dumpling place across from Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar looked pretty good - try it out and pet me know. Thanks

Due staffing the only seating was on the patio which was very nice. It was a sunny day. I had the fried oysters & fries. They were perfectly cooked and the light breading had a nice taste. My wife had the fish sandwich. Again perfectly cooked. A generous portion of cod. She didn’t eat most of the bread. Prices very reasonable for Pike Place Market. Would recommend.

We stopped in for a midday snack after wandering around the market and it was a great decision! Little, tiny place. If you can get a seat at the bar, do. Great beers on tap, oysters so fresh you can see the buckets filled with ice and oysters with the name written on masking tape on the side. This is a no frills place, but if you love oysters, it was the freshest I've ever had.

There are so many restaurants to choose from in Seattle. We walked through the shops across from Pikes Place and tried this tucked away family owned oyster bar. Even though it was busy and their patio is small our family of 5 were seated right away. Quick service and love the history behind Emmett Watson. The lunch menu was perfect the oyster special, gave you 3 different oysters, clam chowder and 3 cocktail shrimp. My kids shared the fish and chips. Not bad for a light batter. Good little lunch place hidden away.

Clam chowder is a seafood dish that is clearly a staple among seafood afficeandos. Emmett Watson's serves a reasonably priced thick and tasty bowl of New England style chowder. It comes with crackers or bread and service is quick and efficient. I also tried the fish and chips and a friend commented that the fresh oysters and shrimp salads were great as well. All in all, this restaurant located just off the Pike Street Market area, is definitely worth a stop for priced right chowder and other good seafood.

We got to the place and waited for a minute as there was no one at the entrance - only to be told we can sit anywhere. I went for the soup that the guy recommended. it was nothing special. Didnt even have any taste!

If you want a touristy place where you wait in line to be seated by a perky host, then served institutional-grade food, then this is NOT your place. However, if you want good, local seafood and no-nonsense service, this is the spot. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter was friendly but not annoyingly so. He was knowledgeable about the menu and guided us toward the best soup that day (it was the salmon). The food was fantastic, the beer was cold and the prices were reasonable. Best of all, we were a block away from all the tourists in line to get a cup of chowder and eat it while sitting on a curb.

My husband and I have been going to Emmett Watson's for 17 years. It is an old Pike Place Market establishment. You can sit in the restaurant, bar with 1 TV, or outside in the small courtyard (weather permitting). We get the same thing every time and it is always consistently good. A dozen local oyster on the half shell, clam chowder and a cold draft beer. This is a very casual place, nothing fancy at all. Compared to other oyster restaurants in the area, this is a straight up no fuss laid back kind of a place. Your menu is on a brown paper bag with small offerings of local seafood, soups, chicken strips, salads and that is about it. The bar is small with old bar stools and 1 TV that always has sports on. The staff is friendly and many have been working here for many years.

They have good food and good pricing, and the customer service excellent. I found it because I was looking for a less crowded spot to eat at de Pikes Market, and loved that they have this patio so cute for that moment. I think I saw they have a kids menu, but if they not they really look a way to help you the best for a menu option for them.

My husband enjoys oysters of any preparation so we went to Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar to indulge him. I must admit that I enjoyed my experience as well.

This place was awful. 17 dollars for 6 oysters that weren't bigger than a half dollar. We ordered 6 oysters 5 peel and eat shrimp that were like minis. And a fried oyster plate. 50 bucks. It took 45 minutes to get the food and people that came in after us got their food first. And it's a dump. We walked out and a party of 6 was getting ready walk in and I said "don't waste your time or money. This place isn't worth it.

I was st Pikes next to original Starbucks. I wanted to drink at Starbucks but the line was long, so I stopped in for a beer. The place was cramped, the initial service was a little so-so. I am solo, so I goto the bar for a beer. I was hoping for raineer or something local, but I did see an IPA. I asked the bartender what is good and I like hops. Well, hd gave me my least favorite answer in the restaurant business, "they're both good" and recommended I get one of each. For the record, the beer was Imperial IPA by Maritime Pacific Brewing Company. Horrible. Terrible and yucky. I drank half the beer, paid my 5.50 and walked out. I decided to wait in Starbucks line for a much happier ending.

We were recommended by a bartender to find Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar for the best oysters in town, but that was not the case. We finally found the restaurant in the rear of a group of shops off the street, and asked where to sit. Disorganization reigned, and finally a friendly waiter showed us the nice, small, open courtyard. This waiter was dismissed by another who took our order of a half-dozen on the half shell and 2 drinks, in a great hurry. The handwritten menus were cool. The oysters were OK but we'd had plumper and tastier at other restaurants with "Oyster" in the name, so our high expectations were disappointed. Not bad, but not a great experience. We didn't stay to order more.

I’ve been coming to Emmett Watson since 1981. It’s one of my favorite places in the market. It’s not overpriced and the food is so fresh and the service is exactly given to you the way you deserve it to be given on the way you act there’s no better place to take friends and family to enjoy the freshest fish, oysters and conversation in the entirety of the pike place market we have friends coming to town for our wedding tomorrow and we plan on being here to enjoy it with the Emmett Watson’s crew

Oysters were very fresh but overpriced (but it is Seattle) Soup tasty but could have been warmer Service questionable. Rather brusque! Deep fried zucchini was tasty with the cucumber dip Steamed clams needed more flavor. For what they charge (and I realized after the fact that I was overcharged for the oysters) they could do a better job and add more flavor. I'd go back for the oysters but would check my bill more thoroughly. My bad! Wine was OK considering the place.

Great place to grab some tasty seafood and kick back for a while in Pike's Place. Tasty grilled oysters & oyster stew, and clam chowder!

While visiting Seattle our local friend steered us to this small, hole in the wall oyster bar. Uncrowded, in an alley and the oysters were fresh and delicious. No need to go to a fancy place....just drop in and enjoy oysters, shrimp and a beer!

Classic Seattle oyster bar/restaurant. Old world charm with great selection of oysters at Pikes Place. What more can you say-place that needs to be on Seattle To Do list.

Small dishes, dry fish, tiny oysters, terrible so-called fsh and chips... And weird staff. I wouldn't go back or tell anyone to visit this place. Bad choice in such an amazing market.

We visited the restaurant in the Pike market area for lunch, a busy day for customers. I opted for the combination of oysters (2), shrimp (3) and chowder. The food was fine but really not enough and left me wishing I had got more of everything, it was a little underwhelming for what I paid.

Every time we visit Seattle this is one of our first stops. Just off Virginia at the end of the market, this little shop has indoor and outdoor seating and some of the best raw oysters served quickly and with a smile. The shrimp and chips are of a good size and piping hot and the drinks ice cold. Always a small wait but well worth it. Try to get the patio and meet some new friends while you eat before you rejoin the throngs outside.

Loved my visit here! The bartender/server was very knowledgable and incredibly friendly. He informed us about the different variety of oysters and even made suggestions for how to eat them :)

I enjoy Emmett Watson for a number of reasons; the food, the atmosphere, and the tradition. Oysters are always good, and priced better than many other places in the market. We have never had a bad meal. Go on a nice day and eat outside. The inside is often to warm and crowded. This is not fine dining which is why I gave it a 4. If comparing it with other lunch spots it would be a 5.

This is a vintage place for oysters but very fun. In good weather eat outside, or have a drink and some oysters before dinner

Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar has the best oysters. Local fresh and indescribably delicious. The service and beer selection exceeds expectations.

The server was rough, the place is nice but the food was not different than a cheap place. Maybe a good place to go and take pictures.

Clam chowder was cold. Staff was not friendly was rude. Fried oysters were terrible! Very pricey! Would not recommend!

This restaurant is an out-of-the-way gem!! They have something for everyone on the menu. The food was excellent, and the waiter was great!!

We saw a small sign for Watson's pointing up a crowded alleyway. There was the restaurant. We had the two best fish soups - seafood gumbo and salmon soup with extraordinarily flavorful broths. We also had fried oysters that were plump and perfect. Service was cheerful and helpful. I recommend Watson's highly.

We visit my mom on Bainbridge Island a couple times a year, and we always venture into Seattle at least once. We have a new spot the that was recommended to us by our favorite Jam purveyor (Johnson Farms) in Pike's. We've eaten there three visits in a row and it is a keeper!! Originally started by a famous Seattle newspaper columnist (Emmett Watson -hope you could figure that out!), it is a throwback to another time. Framed articles and photos on the wall, painted a strange sea blue, checked plastic tablecloths - and a nice little patio. This isn't "date night" place, this is for OYSTERS! The best oysters i've had anywhere, ever, regardless of the price. They taste like a bit of heaven, a bite of the best part of the sea. Love their fish & chips as well, usually get a basket to share - but it is all about those oysters. They have a great beer selection (my kids loved their beer), and nice strong ice tea for us non-drinkers at the lunch table. Just go - even if you add in an extra meal - there is alwyas room for oysters!

I've seen the sign for EWOB for years -- even while EW was still a columnist for the PI -- and knew it was tucked back among some shops behind the omnipresent lines for the "original" Starbucks and Piroshky Piroshky. But for whatever reason I've never popped in -- until now, needing to grab a very quick lunch to go after a run along the waterfront. We decided upon a bowl of NE clam chowder and one of the oyster stew. Both very tasty. Rest of menu looked good. Very pleasant courtyard seating. Will go back to try further offerings.

We were looking for a place for lunch, stumbled upon this out of the way place, back off of the street. Small restaurant, seating for 30ish people. Nothing fancy, but the food, we enjoyed a combo appetizer of Oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail & Clam Chowder, Yum. I had the Fried Oyster Basket, my wife the Seafood Basket, food was very good. I would eat here again, give it a try.

We went as a group of 13 for dinner on September 11, 2015 and ordered a variety of items on the menu. Apart from the Rockefeller oysters & oyster stew, the other dishes were mediocre. Our fish & chips arrived lukewarm with mushy salty fries, the Dungeness crab was so so compared to what we had at Ketchikan & another fish dish was quite tasteless. The waiter who served us was indifferent in his service and when we gave feedback, barely blinked an eyelid. Overall a disappointing experience and I will not be going back anytime soon.

I stopped in for lunch while visiting Pike's Place. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Raw oysters were good (hard to ruin) and they had a fairly good draft beer selection. I ordered the fish and chips and what I got was more like breaded fish fingers (3 small ones). They were well spiced and tasty but I had a hankering for the deep fried beer batter variety. The french fries were mostly not crispy and mealy - not cooked correctly. Service was prompt and friendly - I'm not sure but my server may have been the cook and owner. Since there were very few others there, he was able to keep up. My bill with tip was like $44 for 6 raw oysters, 1 beer, and the fish and chips. I didn't feel that I got $44 of value.

We stumbled across Watson’s by accident and are happy we found it. It was a gorgeous and sunny August Saturday, so the Market area was packed. We peeked through the windows and saw they had a couple of empty tables and snagged one. Good thing too as they went on a wait immediately after we sat down. We ordered a dozen on the half shell, and while not huge they were flavorful. They serve three different varieties and all were different and one of them was very good (don’t remember what it was unfortunately). We also split a seafood gumbo - had shellfish, shrimp, and salmon pieces in it. Don’t expect spice-heavy New Orleans type gumbo here. This one is delicately spiced and a much thinner broth. It was fantastic though. The kitchen was slow in getting out food out - two tables that came in behind us were served first. However, our server - of her own volition - comped our round to drinks by way of apologizing. We’ll go back next time we’re around the Market. (It’s at the back of the alley around from the original Starbucks, by the way.)

We had the special - bowl of chowder, 3 boiled shrimp and 2 oysters on half shell, with 2 pieces of sour dough bread. More than enough to fill both of us up for lunch. Praying Very pleasant outdoor venue.

just stumbled across this little out of the way place...food was very good but had to wait abit for our food but owner gave me my wine for free for the wait... everything was fresh ...would go again if ever in Seattle again

We always order fried zucchini if it's on the menu and this was the best by far! Deep fried to crispy perfection, and served with the most delicious cucumber dip we have had. For the main course, we had fried clams w/chips and fried shrimp and chips. The clams and shrimp were delicious as well. The chips, meh. We will definitely come back to this hole-in-the-wall gem!

We wandered in just needing a place to sit down & have a drink. We ordered lunch, etc. & there are so many better choices in the area.

I had oysters and chips at Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar, and was completely satisfied. This is not a three star restaurant, so don't expect it to be one. Good, honest food, fairly priced, is what you will get.

You can't beat $2.00 oysters! Oh wait! You can! You can offer really TASTY $2.00 oysters! That was why we came here. Mid=afternoon it was not busy. We shared some delicious oysters. One in our group had a shrimp Po-boy, also fabulous. Service was great. Prices good (obviously). We love that this place is now Indigenous owned, sourcing its seafood from Native Americans.

Very disappointed with this restaurant, although I liked the outdoor setting and couldn't fault the service. The oysters were small and tasteless and so was the seafood chowder and I think the salmon was overcooked. For a seafood restaurant so near Pike Seafood markets, it was very disappointing.

Pike Place Market was jammed and I wanted a small, quiet lunch. Emmet's was empty, and they have oysters, which I craved. Service was friendly, quick, and the oysters were fresh—a plate of six, two each of three kinds. I only wish I'd been told BEFORE I consumed them. There's a funny sign there which says "Avoid traffic problems, move to Albuquerque." Had me in stitches because ABQ is currently building a light rail on Rte. 66 and it had taken me 45 minutes to go 1/2 mile there the previous week.

Typical seafood restaurant with everything from fish and chips to fresh oysters, gumbo, and other fried deliciousness. The cioppino was good. No complaints, other than it could've used a bit more bread (two slices was a little scant).

Take a break from shopping & enjoy a plate of oysters (from Washington state) and a bottle of hard apple cider (from New York State) !!

This honky tonk, friendly, totally unpretentious little restaurant at Pike Place Market is a fantastic place to get super-fresh oysters on the half shell and a cold draft beer or simple glass of wine in the middle of a day of strolling through Seattle's tourist central. This is definitely not a fine-dining restaurant where you linger over a meal, but it's a perfect pit stop for simply prepared seafood. There's a four-seat bar at the back that's a great vantage point for watching the staff shucking oysters and just hanging out and shooting the breeze during lulls. This is where a couple of Seattle natives seated next to us told us that it was a regular stop for them. At the front are several wooden booths and glass-topped tables. Decor is basically a clutter of beer bottles and knick-knacks filling almost every available space. Aside from the oysters, there are seafood chowders and soups, fried seafood, shrimp cocktail, etc. There are ten beers on tap and a very short wine list.

Had lunch here and it was delicious. The service was great and we were able to get in and get served very quickly. It has a small indoor seating area, but it is worth it...very quaint.

Simple lunch of fresh seafood. Nothing fancy here, you get what it looks like. Not fine dining, good for fast simple lunch. Maybe a bit dirty, and a little hurried.

Nice simple menu with a good selection of craft beer! The Porter was excellent. But the rave is about the Puget Sound Salmon soup. Rich with salmon this soup was outstanding! I wish I had the time to go back again for some to go!

I go here once a week and order the same things and sit in the same seat every time. The food is simple and really good. Chowder, excellent. Cocktail sauce, excellent. The wait staff is surly (but funny) except for Kathy; she's a peach.

Very surprised at how bad the food was. I had high expectations. Watery seafood gumbo, over-flavored with an unidentifiable spice. Not remotely like any gumbo I've eaten. New England clam chowder as thick as wallpaper paste, mostly potatoes. It's not an unfriendly place, but not friendly either. Very disappointing!

Visited this restaurant on Monday evening and found no customer there. That should have been a warning. Ordered grilled soup, cod, and clams. All items were of mediocre quality. Portion of the cod fish was small. Taste was not the greatest. Walk around for other choices.

Great fried and fresh local oysters!!! WE tried local beers and had a great lunch!! Alot of fun sights at Pikes Market

Recently had lunch here. My brother had a fried shrimp and chips basket and I had the cipollini stew. Bro said his shrimp were good, and I think this was the best cipollini I have ever had in a restaurant. And for the location, it was surprisingly affordable. It's a small space, too, which made it very inviting and the service was super friendly.

If you want to overpay for awful food, then this is a great place for you. Start with the tightly packed tables with barely enough space to squeeze in and then enjoy one of the worst prepared food you can find, cooked by someone with less talent in the kitchen than you can imagine. Fish and chips is simply a euphemism for 'a plate of deep fried frozen crap', the soups are straight out of a can - most likely a garbage can. The dishes are seasoned beyond credulity in an attempt to add some flavor to bland and poorly prepared junk. Really, you are better off going hungry than paying these people to rape your taste buds. Stay away.

Speedy service on a crowded Saturday at 1 p.m. Midnight Bay, Sunset Bay. Crisp well shucked and cold. Good price $2.45-ish (ea when u get 6). However, NE Clam chowder like potato paste. Fairly good flavor but mealy texture and WAY too thick.

A superb array of sea food based dishes. I had the oysters & chips along with a beer and cannot think of a better lunch. The staff members are very nice and are helpful. My only word of waring is to say that it is not at its best when really crowded. You might do best to visit when it is quieter - but do make the effort to go.

The broiled oysters were outstanding! Use a spoon to get every drop of deliciousness. Service was also very inviting.

We found this out of the way place due in the Pike Place area thanks to knowledgeable security guard. The chowder was outstanding. The waiter efficient and knowledgeable. My husband had salmon . Very fresh, cooked perfectly and well presented. This is a find....

Seafood wasn't superb but it was satisfying. The server seemed a bit cold and anxious when we arrived but he then appeared to become much friendlier. Enjoyed sitting on their quaint and nicely kept patio. It did seem like the food took longer than expected to arrive. I feel that they may have been a bit understaffed. I would eat lunch there again.

After having a stroll around the Pike St Market, I thought a few oysters at Emmett Watson's was in order. Very enjoyable and I had to wait until I had been to several other restaurants and travelled to Daytona before I had another oyster that could rival the quality. Not having been to the USA before, I was keen to sample the whole range which was no problem to my server. So I had a couple of dozen different oysters with a couple of glasses of pinot grigio and life was looking great.

Midnight Bay, Piegi, and Pemco (probably spelled wrong!) variety of oysters on the sampler tray - wonderful! So firm, Midnight Bay was sweet, so sweet. This is a little oyster bar just across from Pike's Place; you have to look for it at the "1916" address. Go into the very small entryway and straight back is this delightful gem. Casual, bar atmosphere, booths and tables and outdoor option. Friendly service. Lots of seafood options, but you won't go wrong with the beautiful oysters. I'm an east coast oyster lover who just fell for these west coast gems. Worth finding this delightful place!

I ordered salmon soup for lunch. The broth was amazing on its own let alone the salmon and muscles. Well worth the visit, however this restaurant is ideal for eating, nit dining.

We were wandering around Pike Place Market near closing and wanted to relax over a plate of oysters. Emmett Watson’s offered just what we were looking for. Fantastic oysters, good beer, all in an inside courtyard away from the crowds. This hit the spot. I would definitely return.

We were going to the chowder house in Post Alley but the crowd/line was extreme. We walked on and were considering the Irish Pub and then looked across. Down the stairs and into Emmett’s! It’s quaint, adorable and good! Just a bunch of regular people putting out some great food. Stop in, you’ll be happy you did.

Every visit to Seattle, I always eat here until today. Walked in and was texting my husband to meet me and a young man yelled at me for not waiting behind the wait to be seated sign. I said. Sorry but he was unsatisfied. I sat down and he threw a menu at me. I said "should I go?" He said "that sounds great". I waited for my husband and we went elsewhere. Very sad! Guy was a jerk wearing a grey baseball cap backwards

a perfect place to stop and get out of the rain and get a nice hot bowl of soup. Every time I am here I am treated well and the food is good

This is a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The food, service, and prices are all great. The space itself is very interesting with lots of history.

When we arrived we noticed NO one was there. That should've been the warning. We sat down and got the menu and were excited to try something new. I ordered the Northwest Seafood Gumbo, and yea it was very bad. The gumbo was mad soupy and not thick at all. It had no taste, no flavor at all. I got a lemonade and it tasted like lemon water. That $18.99 was a waste. Dont do it guys.

Considering this restaurant is in a great location, with a cute outdoor courtyard near the water, it was quite run-down. The oysters were not served on ice and were lukewarm, and every staff member we interacted with seemed like they were being inconvenienced by having guests in the restaurant. Staff ranged from being aloof to outright short/rude. My advice: Stick with the fried foods - there are many other great oyster places in Seattle so there's no need to go to this one. We won't be returning.

Located near the Public Market, Emmett Watson’s Oyster Bar is a great place to try for that mid afternoon bite after watching all the fun at the Fish Market. Hidden in a back corner between Stewart Street and Western Avenue, Emmett Watson’s is hard to find but worth the effort. The Ambiance is what you would expect from an Oyster Bar in Seattle, with options for sitting in the small dining room, out side patio or bar. I always gravitate towards the people watching spot and of course the staff, so the bar is it for me at Emmett Watson’s. Let’s get to the reason why you take the trip to Emmett Watson’s…….the Oysters! Some of the BEST on the West Coast, and of course Seattle. They Shuck them right in front of you and with a little horse radish or without, they really are some of the best oysters I have ever had. Must Stop in Seattle!

This place is in a back corner across from the market. We got some oysters and beer and were very happy. Our waiter seemed like a New Yorker, very straight to the point but not rude. He wasn't overly friendly but that kind of adds to the atmosphere. I enjoyed my snack very much and would recommend this place.

Stopped with a friend for dinner. The server was friendly and the food arrived fairly quickly. I had some type of fish gumbo which was excellent! If i had a way to store it, i would have placed another order to go. The oysters were o.k. I prefer them with horseradish and a mignonette, but they were just served with a cocktail sauce. This place isn't fancy and you're sitting in wooden booths, but the price was reasonable and I'd have no problem with returning.

Convenient location but the food was disappointing. We had the fish and chips, and it was mediocre at best, and the chowder special with 2 oysters on the 1/2 shell and 3 peel and eat shrimp. One of the oysters was minuscule. and the cocktail sauce was straight out of a cheap bottle. The chowder was likely from a can. Very disappointed.

We went in to the resturant and asked for a table outside. We followed a very nice ladie out and then she told us that she needs 5 minutes to clean the table. While waiting close to the table outside, telling the girl not to rush, a guy screams to us across the restaurant not to sit down before they cleared the dishes. He did this while he was taking orders from other guests. We answered no worries, and he repeted "no worries" with a very rude and disrespectfull attitude. And then he turned his back to us. And just mocking us, and being rude. It was the weirdest experience in a restaurant we ever had, and he made us feel super uncomfortable. Other guest was starring at him and at us, and we walked out of there. That guy should really think about changing profession. And never work with people again. Ever.

Every time I get to Seattle I head here. The oysters are the best, especially with a local beer! The restaurant is set back (more like inside) a bit from the from the main Pike Street. The seating is limited and service could be kicked up a bit. But still would definitely go again.

We were wandering around the market at about 3pm on a Thursday afternoon looking for fun things to eat. I saw the sign out for $2 oysters all day so my dad and I popped in to Emmett's. There was only 1 other table at the time. We sat down and ordered 6 oysters, then we ordered another 6 because they were so good. The horseradish is some of the best that I've had. The next day my dad came back by himself to snack on another dozen. So we can't comment on anything else but the oysters we were well worth it and the service was commendable.

Cozy, easy to find, welcoming. Oysters were delivered with panache as though we were the only customers to ever order such a fine meal. The fresh hot deep-fried zucchini and cold robust beer put the finishing touches on a great Washington state visit.

We went here for lunch. It was very busy and they were obviously understaffed (there was a “help wanted” sticker on their outdoor sign). The server/host appeared somewhat angry at the situation, but was friendly later on, though the service was slow. We were craving some comfort food, so we shared shrimp soup and the Captain’s Basket (fried seafood). The food was pretty good. The basket was nice because it had several types of seafood. I’d recommend this place for a no nonsense lunch.

First trip the the Market, and we happen to be there at lunchtime. Every place we went by had a line except Emmett Watson's. Okay, it's back off the beaten path a bit and it wasn't dead, just not super busy. We were seated by (I'm guessing) the bus boy because our server didn't realize we'd been seated or were even there. Still, not a long wait so we're doing fine thus far. Our server was amusing and enthusiastic, which helped. I ordered the Captain's Basket while my wife went standard Fish & Chips. She got 4 large fish sticks and a great whopping pile of fries. The fish pieces were about 3" long, 1" wide, and 1/2" thick. Not fillets by any stretch. They were good, certainly, but not impressive. The Captain's Basket comes with fried fish, fried clams, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and fried potatoes. The clams were okay, mostly breading. I got one single fish stick similar to what my wife got with her order. A half dozen shrimp that can be found at any Red Lobster or Golden Corral. And of course, the great whopping pile of fries. The oysters were great, but there were only 3 or 4 of them. The decor is kitschy, and I liked that. Menus are on the back of paper sacks for that added whimsical attempt. Overall, for the price I could have used more seafood and less fries. You'd think a restaurant right by the fish markets could handle it, but the food was essentially the same you'd find anywhere about the country. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't impressive. We might go back, but it's not a definite.

Nice venue, with old style, comfortable interior with dozen or so small boots and several tables outside. You would think it is all about oysters only but turns out oysters are only part of the menu, with several other choices. The point is, if you call yourself 'oyster bar' one would expect a large selection of oysters, which unfortunately wasn't the case and three kind of available oysters were almost the same, not even discernable in a blind test. Disappointing.

Very hot day in Seattle and was searching for some beer and oysters. We stumbled upon this little place while searching for some relief from the heat and decided to check it out. The service was o.k. with no complaints and the oysters were delivered in good time. The oysters were not that fresh and were on the smaller side but the price was on the higher side. Not sure if it was because of the extreme heat but we did eat it and did not get sick, thankfully, considering we paid something like $24.00 or so for the dozen half shell oysters. The beer was awesome and so was the iced water. It's a split decision if we do visit here again.

Unpleasantly Surprised. With all the great food around, I stopped in to Emmett's. We were immediately seated by a friendly server. I ordered the Combo Basket at the recommendation of the server. I also had to try their clam chowder. The Combo Basket had a small amount of Fish, Shrimp, and Oysters. They had Tiny Clam Strips that looked more like crumbs. The Other seafood was tasty, cooked perfectly, however portions were small for the money. The Big disappointment was the Clam Chowder. Tiny tidbits of chowder, old bacon bits, and mostly potatoes that have been broken down to a gritty mess. My guess it old soup that had been over & reheated. Left me wishing I could have gone elsewhere. Chef Gary Curry

If you are looking for delicious oysters, properly prepared fried seafood, and wonderful local specials like homemade gumbo or chowder, then check this place out. Limited outdoor seating, but inside is just fine. Also has a small bar area if you prefer that. Local beers on tap.

This is a cool little place inside Pike Place Market! My brother loves oysters, and he was able to get a little plate of a few different kinds. He said they were each amazing, fresh, and had much better flavor than other places he’s had oysters. The atmosphere was fun and the prices were great for fresh oysters!

Get reservations. They stay packed and, dining there, it's easy to see why. I wanted oysters and the selection was incredible. I let Rob, our able waiter, choose a dozen for me and I was delighted at his expert selection of 6X2. Each was a different taste, all were fresh, and all were delicious. Great dockside location, perfect for dining and people-watching. Best oysters I've ever had, great service, nice ambience. A great gift to food- and experience-hungry tourists!

Stopped for lunch. Great food at great price. Service was excellent. Daughter had their special-enjoyed it. I had their northwest seafood gumbo. Great flavor and none of it over cooked.

the people who grew up in Seattle more than a few years back the memories of Emmett Watson and "Lesser Seattle' will hold great memories. Every time I go back I take time to have a meal here. the food is good and you can usually find a local who can tell you about some place great to visit while your in the city.

The worst thing about this place was the service. He had such a bad atitude and my mom asked what the diffrence was between the appetizer of oysters and the entree, and he said "The placement on the menu" like a wiseguy. The only thing that was good there were the seats and they were not so good.

Walking around Pike Place Market we happenened upon Emmett's. Had a bowl of Clam Chowder...mehh... Had the Fish & Chips... Ha! What a jip! The Hale Supergoose IPA was good. Mehh... 😑

Emmett Watson was a very popular columnist for one of Seattle's daily newspapers. This cozy restaurant that carries his name is a real find. It's in a corner across the street from the main market area and a rather small place, but the ambiance and the food are worth seeking it out. The menu is hand written on paper bags. The food is always fresh and superb, and the wait staff are locals, friendly and knowledgeable. I'm not a beer drinker myself but friends I have invited here have raved about the selections. I highly recommend the salmon soup, served in a clear broth with plenty of fish, a couple of mussels, and some fine garnish. Anything you order here will be wonderful!!!!!

Very good food and nice service. I loved the patio. Their home made lemonade saved my day in this hot day. It was really refreshing. We are definitely coming back to eat the delicious food!

Small joint, quick turnover on tables, great for lunch - nothing special for dinner. Food came quickly, high school age servers so about high school age service. Food was edible, plain old fried stuff. I expected better because of the hype on this place. Hard to find in a back part of shopping section but close to clean bathrooms without the line.

Not sure if it was quiet because of the time, but all other places facing the street in front of pikes market had lines of tourists but locals head inside to Emmetts. They have I side seating, an open air court and the bar. I sat at the bar and staff was extremely friendly. Got a local draft beer the waitress recommended and ordered Oysters, clams and mussels. Exactly what I was looking for. The freshness was amazing! Definitely well recommended.

Stumbled on this unassuming little place and was pleasantly surprised. It looks like a basic cafe but actually the oysters were amazing. We’ve never seen any so large! So certainly worth trying these. Food was a little slow in arriving and whilst it was tasty and fresh the fish and chips was actually fish chunks in breadcrumbs not the whole fish we were expecting. Still would recommend popping in for a bite to eat though.

When we approached this restaurant, we saw one sign that said, “We are open”, and one sign that the said, “We are closed.” When we asked a waiter whether the restaurant was open or not, he cursed us out and told us to the read the sign. When we asked, “Which one is correct?” he got even angrier using horrible language, We have never experienced something like this at a restaurant in our lives. We visited at 5:30pm on Friday, August 5th, 2022.

I'm giving Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar a 4. Under normal circumstances it's probably a 3 but given the utter chaos that is Pike Street I've found that, they almost always have a seat in the shade, and that there servers are generally pretty patient. Noting other reviews about value for money and wait times, please remember that Pike is a cramped space with lots of food options. If you want to sit, in a relatively quiet place, have a decent meal with decent service, then Emmett Watsons is a good spot to do that and you never have to leave the market. Good beer choices and gazpacho I had was pretty darned good.

We had just returned from a Princess Cruise to Alaska and had some time to visit a little of the Waterfront in Seattle. We walked the market looking for something appealing to us that would be a local treat. We happened upon Watson's Oyster Bar and had the most pleasant experience. The wait staff was so kind and patient with us, as it took a while for me to decide what I wanted. We ordered oysters and chips with a piece of Key Lime Pie for both of us! (Just what we needed after a 7 day cruise spent eating!) The oysters were so tender and sweet, and the fries seemed to be special , too. It was a very nice experience for us. The food, the friendly and caring wait staff made a wonderful end to our vacation.

Stopped here on a recommendation from a vendor at the Market. I was pretty excited, I like to find little gems that are favored by locals and serve up great food. Missed on this one. When we arrived and asked the server to describe the oyster selection and make suggestions he looked at me like I had a third eye. Literally shrugged and said, "Uh ... i don't know, I can ask." And then stared at me. I tried a selection of a half dozen oysters, to be fair they were good. Clean and finished well, but the service turned the whole experience sour.

Emmett Watsons is one of those places that hasn't changed since its inception. This includes the quality of their food. I had the oysters and chips. Wonderfully prepared, soft and moist with a crunchy coating. While the atmosphere may not be that of others, eating tucked away in their courtyard is delightful.

This place is nestled somewhere in the Pike Place Market area, but worth the search. It’s not fancy but the oysters, both raw and fried, were very good. Steamed clams in a delicious broth were excellent. Service was prompt.

Stopped in for a quick late lunch. Sat out on the little patio and ordered the chowder, oysters, gumbo and fish & chips. Way better chowder elsewhere..super floury. The fish and chips were just weird. Like little flat discs of fish. Over cooked and dry. The oyaters again..just okay. With so many places to eat...this was just meh...not memorable at all. It’s a hard pass

Underwhelming by far. The oysters were decent. Cioppino was disappointing- barely any seafood & zero flavor. My son had fish & chips that looked & tasted like they were out of the microwave, half the fries weren’t even cooked through. Server was sweet, but as for the food- don’t bother.

As an Aussie I never get to eat clam chowder. I can't tell you how happy I was to discover it at Emmetts. I went back frequently. I have been back on subsequent US visits and am looking forward to getting some chowder in December. Always delicious!

We had an excellent experience. Food was delicious, our server made excellent recommendations on oysters and craft beer. Entire family enjoyed their food. We had oysters, fish & chips, clam chowder, shrimp cocktail and Northwest Gumbo. Some of the recent reviews indicated bad service and that almost scared us away. Glad we took the risk. Well worth it.

Stopped for a beer and bowl of calm chowder in this quaint little place tucked away by Pikes Market. Chowder was excellent and waiter delughful.

We stopped in here while visiting the Pike's Market area. It's a very small, casual place with booths and tables taking up almost every inch of the place. Menu choices were mostly seafood. My kids ordered chicken and chips (fries), which they ate. I thought their chicken fillets looked over cooked. I ordered clam chowder (good but average). My husband's clams and chips basket looked good but not enough clams for the price. Service was spotty. Several times we tried to flag the waiter as he walked by to no avail. But we were happy enough. Probably will pick somewhere else next time.

Be ready to wait. Slow service. Slow food arrival times. Almost terrible. Worst thing is food was Very Good but stupid small portions. Won't be back.

We (my Swedish cousins and visiting niece) had some of the very best fish and chips ever under new ownership of experienced Seattle owner/fry cook Brian T. Brian has moved into sourcing extremely fresh seafood from our local Western Washington tribes. Look for this great spot in the Pike Place Market courtyard, entrance hall just north of the so-called "original" Starbucks!

A small joint that is very busy - maybe a little too busy. The food is okay, the service is okay. We ate here because we wanted chowder, but Pike Chowder Company's line was way too long.

A vendor directed us to this oyster bar and did we ever get a surprise! They have outside dining and a very delightful staff! Fish and chips hit the spot! I got a lesson the the different types of beer! Would eat here again if ever we have the occasion. Highly recommend!

Tucked away off the street. Getting a table for three(out on the terrace) was a bit of a feat but we waited and were assisted by our awesome server, who has worked there for 30 years. She was awesome! Delicious oysters and fried oyster sandwiches. Will definitely return.

Had lunch at this little place. Fresh oysters were very good. Salmon dinner was good as well as the fish and chips !

We had tried unsuccessfully to get into another chowder place in Pike Market Place and thought we would give this place a go. Thank goodness we did! So much fun. Food was fresh and amazing. Oysters were so sweet and the chowder was delicious. A couple of beers and we left a couple of very happy Aussies. Prices were good too....

Food is decent but the fish is a small portion. I had the gumbo and after walking the market my expectations were high. The shrimp are small and so are the fillets. Also soda is $2 a can. No free refills. Service was great though. For the price it's all right a little high for the grilled (insert fish) and chips.

Place smells of fried oil. Sauvignon Blanc was not great. Scallops were average, salmon and fries ok. Best bit was the bread. Would not go back.

We arrived at 4:15 and were told we only had 10 miinutes to order because they were closing iin 15 minutes. I told them it is posted differnety and he said the website and Google is wrong. So they are open for only 4-5 hours a day. Clams were good but the Fish and Chips was nothing to write home about.

When you first get there, the employees seem a bit lacking. BUT then they came to life!! We sat on the patio and enjoyed it for a few hours. Cutest menus, great prices, great variety, great location! Right around the corner from the Gum Alley. Great people watching. A LOT of people/groups travel through the walkway. Next to a 'dough' place that is pho/ramen/asian noodles. As we did not eat here, we were just relaxing through a hot afternoon and our tracking our luggage around; the food looked great. It seems a lot of people were ordering a lot of soup. They had 4-5 different soup items. The fish breading on the fish & chips looked great. Someone behind us got a mix of seafood that looked great.

We popped in for a quick bite. It is across the street from the Pike Place Market in a small hidden away lane a bit further away from the crowds. The place appeared quiet and they seated us quickly. The chowder was on the small side and the salmon was OK. It was a very reasonably priced meal, and the decorations were a quirky nautical theme.

My favorite Seattle WA restaurant! Tucked away, it has a simple elegance with food that is as straightforward as it is delicious. A bit hard to find but well with the search. Nothing pretentious... just good food. This was my third or fourth time there over the years after learning about it from the Stern’s book many years ago. My favorite is the seafood chowder.

Stopped in at Emmett Watson's for lunch. Our group of 4 was craving oysters and this looked like a nice cozy place to stop. We started with 2 dozen oysters that were so fresh and tasty. The seafood sauce that came with the dish was spicy with horseradish and was perfect for adding if you wished. We also had a bowl of soup after the oysters. My husband had the Chippino that was outstanding, I had the clam chowder that was thick with potatoes and the seasoning was perfect. One of the other soups was cold gazpacho that was cooling on a warm day. Each dish had bread and butter that made for a great meal. Our waiter Jorge was responsible for the patio and he did a great job. If you are looking for a small friendly restaurant with great food this is the place you need to visit

Reminded me of places in the south, the Broiled Oysters were delicious and worth it. Great beers and some of the cleanest, heartiest oysters I’ve had in a while. Pricey but normal for the area.

Family visiting from Alaska wanted fish and chips, we took them to Watson’s. This place is down and dirty (not meaning physically dirty, but no frills). We where seated quickly, given menus printed on paper bags, ordered and shortly everything was served as ordered. We all (5 adults and 1 kid) where happy with our choices.

First time to Seattle and immediately denied us access. We told him that we had a service dog and he still was adamant about no animals! Wouldn't even look to see if we have the proper documentation that we have a service animal!!!! Don't patronize this place. Denied us access with proper documentation!!!

First time to Seattle! Went to Pikes Place. Went to Starbucks. Walked around and just happened to find this place. Great food. Very small place. Not much room to sit. Nice server. I recommend it.
Great oysters but everything else lacking
One of the few quiet places in bustling Pike Place Market area but the shrimp soup was inedible (too much vinegar), the fries very greasy, and the cod fillets in the fish and chips were tiny. Service was good.
