Great Food in a low key setting

By Dennismc2015 |

It doesn't look like much from the outside, and the inside is very basic, but the food is not to be missed. You can tell it is a great Mexican restaurant by the lines that are present all day. My friends took me there saying it was the best Enchiladas in Austin - I think they are the best I ever ate! FYI - the local newspaper had this place listed as the Best of "2014, 2015" and they deserve the rating.

First Time to Enchiladas Y Mas

By I472DItomp |

My aunt and uncle live in Austin and treat me to their favorites... This is at the top of the list. The Enchiladas are out of this world like none I have had before. years of recipe perfections here.... I highly recommend this great place. I also had the Fajitas and they are smoked/ grilled great flavor.. Your taste buds with love you....

Lighten up your night - Try the swirl marg

By BrentonR |

Love this place, the people who work here are amazing and always very attentive (as much as they need to be, rather than overbearing) and the margs are great. Standard Tex Mex fare, and it's not going to be beat out the 4/5 star restaurants you find in terms of ingredients, but taste is on point, and again, you can't beat the people (or the price!)

Amazing Enchiladas & THE BEST MARGARITAS

By KE85M09 |

Little hole in the wall "Austin-y" place with super delicious enchiladas (and I super hate enchiladas usually). The queso is thick and smooth and flavorful. The salsa is incredibly spicy...and so worth the burn! But the margaritas. You guys. They aren't that big and they don't just taste like "all the alcohol" so HOW can they be so potent? You are only allowed 3, but I would advise you start with one and take some time...you will be feeling it for awhile. ;) My fave was the strawberry frozen- delish!

Why go anywhere for fajitas?

By EspressoMe |

I can't remember how many times we've eaten here, but this my first review!!! Suffice it to say we come back here time and time again for a reason. They focus on delicious food, not decor or ambience. Fajitas for two will feed four in full! No lie!! And at $22 there is NO comparison. My hubby and I married 18 months ago and we took a group of 20 out to breakfast the next day. No one left hungry!! Big portions and lots of it. Everyone was happy. Prompt service. They advertise as Tex-Mex, but that is an injustice. Definitely heavy on the Mex. Eat here!!

Eat in, not out!

By 3678JOHN |

We have eaten at this location many times and have always been quite happy. Not so this time. Ate in once - very good. Placed 2 orders to go on two separate days and both orders were incorrect and short. So maybe eating in is the solution. Enjoy RABBIT

Its all about the Fajita

By Joe M |

Dont judge a book by its cover. This may not look like much, but its awesome. The fajitas was tasty. Stopped in for a business lunch. Everyone enjoyed there meal.

Excellent local Tex Mex

By Travel2Pho2graph |

We have been away from Texas for a while and friends took us to this restaurant to enjoy some Tex Mex food. Yum! And so affordable. Our friends are regulars and we were treated like family. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Enchiladas is in the name for a reason!

By Sarah M |

I love this place and probably go at least twice a month. The enchiladas are awesome. One time I strayed and had the fajitas and definitely regretted the choice. I don't know what kind of tequila they use, but the margaritas will sneak up on you so be careful. It's not much to look at, but I would put it in my top 5 mexican places in Austin.

Go to Mexican food

By Cloudy V |

Food is always cooked to order, fresh, and hot. Expect a wait for lunch or dinner. Not the cleanest looking restaurant, but good food.

Small place, no frills, but great food!

By AustinPiper |

I had lunch while in the area for a business training session. Yes, the parking is not necessarily easy and the place is small, but this little gem is worth it! The servers were friendly and the food was great. I had the Carne Guisada and loved it. I will definitely go back and try the margaritas and other food. This probably isn't the greatest place for a date, but for lunch or dinner with family and friends you are not going to beat the food very easily. This is a relaxed "mom and pop" place where you can just sit and enjoy!

It was a great experience

By Lila Tobin |

just over all amazing. good food, good service, good people, and fun times. I also would suggest getting the enchilada.

Good Faitija's

By Scott M |

The food was good. Be careful if you do not like spicy, as the fajita's and salsa have Serrano peppers in them. A little dive that has good food and was very busy.

Great family dining

By Drewdad |

We always enjoy Enchiladas Y Mas. Wife and kids share the chicken enchilada plate; I get the comida regular. I was not a fan of the barbacoa, however. (available only on the weekends)

Enchiladas & Margaritas!

By trackerem |

The line at lunch was out into the street so knew it was gonna be good! The taco, rice & beans were just so so. The enchiladas are excellent! I noticed people drinking small margaritas so I ordered one. No small amount of alcohol! It packed quite a punch! So for the size & price, be sure & get one! The service was very hectic due to the large number of people. Our server kept moving stuff back from the edge of the table for fear of knocking stuff over I guess. That was annoying! For the price, this place is worth the try!

One of Our Stand-Bys

By Jim T |

I have dined here more times than I can count, for longer than I can remember. At times there is a wait, but it is worth it to do so. As their T-Shirts say, "never trust a skinny cook". Parking onsite, if you can find a spot. Friendly service, good chips & salsa & 'ritas. Do i need to tell you to try the enchiladas?

I've been going here for 15 years and it is still one of my favorite places. My family and I visit once or twice a week for fabulous Tex-Mex and margaritas. The place is always packed. If you go here you are family. It's a great place to eat in Austin!

Best tex-mex place! They have great enchiladas and carne gusada. Great lunch specials (totally worth the wait.)

Swing and a miss

By Jaymie22 |

Never been here before, decided to give it a try. I had to send back my crispy taco because the shell was chewy. The "cheese" on my enchiladas was nacho cheese, not chedder like any ordinary enchiladas. The corn tortillas were also stale. Not returning to this place

Excellent enchiladas, excellent mas, worth the wait!

By Alex Z |

This place tends to be pretty busy at dinnertime, I think we had to wait about half an hour at our table and they don't do call ahead. You can grab a drink at the bar ahead of time, but at busy times it's tough to find a place to stand while you wait (if you don't order an alcoholic beverage you can wait outside). The frozen margaritas here are powerful and delicious! The service was fast and friendly, and they serve chips with very good and very spicy salsa while you order. We had a variety of fajita and enchilada plates and everybody loved their food. It's now our favorite Mexican restaurant in Austin, and we'll be back!

Best Fajitas

By mbhorns08 |

A group of us have been eating at EYM for many years and have not been dissapointed at any time. The fajitas have a taste that makes you want more after you are done. The enchiladas con queso are out of this world, you have to try these. AND, most of all the service is great, worth the wait.

Good mex. Long wait.

By Charlotte I |

Good mex. Long wait.

Not that good.

By glennroid |

This place was packed on the recent weekend afternoon I had lunch there. I was excited as I love good Tex-Mex. Service was very good, but this is a very shabby place and wasn't very clean. Sorry, cleanliness, even in a dump is something that greatly adds to the appeal of food. The chips and salsa were good although we asked for and got a milder salsa. The regular house salsa was a bit too hot. I had an enchilada platter and they were good, but not great. My friend's fajitas were tasty but the meat was a little on the tough side. I stopped in the bathroom before leaving and it was really nasty looking. I'm sorry, although the food was OK, a dirty and shabby restaurant doesn't make me want to come back and I probably wont.

10* Tex-Mex restaurant.

By 814jamesu |

The best Tex-Mex food I have ever had. Worth the calories. All dishes are good and alcohol beverages strong. Really strong so watch it. Parking tight. It is always crowded except between 2-4 during the week. I would not say it was casual. More like no shirt-no-shoes-no service.

Overall: Very Disappointed.

By James H |

We had heard good things about Mas from the internet, and wanted to give it a try, as we are Tex-Mex fans. The visit started out great, but we were disappointed overall. The GOOD: The salsa is very very good, and definitely homemade. Hubby enjoyed it. Chips were ok. The guacamole is delicious, fresh, and their recipe is perfect. No extra ingredients, and lots of it. The chalupa consisted of a fried corn tortilla covered with refried beans, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Perfect, and very tasty. Frijoles were good. Rice was merely ok. A bit more seasoning in it than necessary. The food was served hot, and there was plenty of it. Now for the (in our opinion) inexcusable at a Tex-Mex restaurant: The flour tortillas were not homemade, and store bought, Mission level quality. Terrible. Now, I realize that making tortillas in the quantity they require is probably not realistic, but these were not worthy of the rest of the menu, and only 2 came with the order. The cheese enchiladas were not filled with cheddar or jack cheese, but some sort of Velveeta/Rico's nacho-type goo that was not fit for a respectable Tex-Mex joint. Terrible! The wife's beef fajitas were doused in what smelled (and tasted) like Liquid Smoke. Seriously? It's ok to cook fajitas on a flattop, but if you're going to do that, just go with the seasoning you have, and don't try to trick it up with fake "grilled" flavor. Don't fake this stuff! Terrible! The family at the next table did not finish their plates of food, and neither did we. To be fair, there was nothing "wrong" with any of the dishes, other than EyM very obviously cheaped out on ingredients and preparation. We were very disappointed, and we won't be back. But you don't know unless you go.

always glad I went!

Award winning Enchiladas y Mas has important qualities in a restaurant. Clean, good service and good food! Casual atmosphere, reasonable prices. Popular with locals. Good menu, varied and basic. Appetizers, sandwiches, plates. Breakfast all day! Bar. Parking. North of town.

Somewhat Disappointed

By Ticorsa |

Had out of State relatives in for a wedding. They wanted "real Mexican food" for lunch. My son recommended enchiladas y mas. The margaritas and service lived up to all reviews but the chicken enchiladas with green sauce did not. They were average at best. With all of the other Mexican food restaurants available in Austin, I would probably go somewhere else on my next trip to Austin.

Awesome Tex-Mex

By sandi627 |

Take it from a Native Austinite, this is some of the best Tex-Mex food to be found!! For me, the hot sauce is HOT, so I ask for mild sauce to add to it! Great cheese enchiladas, great margaritas!

Best Tex-Mex in Austin!

By LBBud |

We have been going to Y Mas for years and have reached the status of regulars. The # 5 with onions was a lunch or dinner favorite for a long time and the huevos mexican with cheese a staple for breakfast, but recently have branched out and enjoyed the chicken fajita nachos and the flautas. I also highly recommend the fajitas and the margarites, but watch out because they can sneak up on you! The place is, for the lack of a better word, a bit of a dive, but the staff is warm and friendly and the food worth the wait (which is never long) when the line is out the door.

It all started with the salsa and got better!

By Larry1466 |

The salsa was spicylicious but addictive. The margaritas are potent; you can't be served more than 3.We each had MIGAS-OMG! Eggs, chips, Serrano peppers, salsa, and optional add-on's made for a wonderful meal.

Best TexMex in Austin

By Johnny H |

This is a spin-off of the old Jorge restaurants and it’s the closest thing to it that we have left. You can’t go wrong with number 5 on the menu.

Old time favorite

By David H |

We used to live in Austin and when we travel back we alway try to make time for a visit here as it's so good. If you're looking for chain type food keep driving as this is just a simple no frills restaurant that serves outstanding food, with outstanding service. The cheese enchiladas with the queso and chili sauce is so tasty you'll want to keep eating until you're miserable. Go hungry or plan on sharing as the portions are large. Skip the chain restaurants and visit this place, you'll be happy you did.

GOOD FOOD @ VERY REASONABLE PRICES

By 3678JOHN |

We visit Austin 2 or 3 times per year and stay in this general area, therefore we eat close by. Enchiladas y Mas serves up some very good food at extremely good prices. They are open 6 days and closed on Mondays. Serve Menudo only on the weekends. We have had their breakfast, lunches and dinners and have not yet been disappointed. Hope this helps. Enjoy Rabbit3678

Do in a pinch, but not my favorite

By SEMPER F |

Friends recommended this place. very crowded, parking difficult. Small tables, limited drink selection and beer selection. Menu was basic, with only the generic red salsa. This is probably better for breakfast or lunch, but won't come back for dinner.

Great little hole in the wall. Nothing...

By Dave B |

Great little hole in the wall. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as choices, just your typical Tex-Mex fare. However, there is something to be said for making a memorable cheese and onion enchillada, which they do. Salsa had a good kick to it (as it should). Looks unassuming from the inside and out, but a good inexpensive Tex-Mex place.

Great Service, food was so-so

By T8travels |

We had just a short wait before being seated. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good, but not the best Tex-Mex we have had. I tried the sour cream sauce but it was very bland (thinned out sour cream with no flavor). I should have tried the cheese enchiladas and meat sauce that everyone here was recommending. Margaritas had a kick!

Some of the best enchiladas!

By Calpotts |

They really are some of the best Tex-Mex enchiladas in Austin. Very casual spot and cheap. Atmosphere is not great, it doesn't look that good from the outside but it is great Tex-Mex.

Huge cleanliness issue

By Foodsince89 |

Here we go straight to the point. The food is fantastic and so is the Margaritas. However, the brothers that own this establishment claim to be in restaurant business for over 20 years. Upon walking in you can tell they have not reinvested a single dime on the building. There are flies, salsa, and booger’s on the walls. They even have there fly zapper out in the open in the dining room. Disgusting!! Came here on Wednesday and they said they couldn’t serve us a drink until we sit down because they failed to schedule a bartender. The kitchen definitely has some health violations going on which I have already notified to the city of Austin. I still come back for the food but it is sad that Robert and Roe Martinez (owners) are this cheap for a restaurant that makes lots of revenue and has community support. Staff has no uniform so it’s hard to tell who is who. The chair cushions are ripping and falling apart, the ceiling is strained and dirty. It’s concerning that you have a restaurant opened since 1994 but don’t take pride in it? Why so cheap with the peso Robert and Roe? Overall good food but terrible service, cleanliness and atmosphere.....Step it up Robert and Roe, I’ve been to cleaner airport bathrooms than this.

Paper tortillas

By Ali12384 |

I especially find it offensive when I visit a "mexican" restaurant for breakfast tacos and find the flour tortillas are store bought and poor quality. If you like home-made flour tortillas with your meal, skip this place. Otherwise, some of the other dishes we saw looked appetizing.

Great neighborhood restaurant

By mr_larry_smith |

This is a great neighborhood place for Mexican food. Everyone seems to know each other and make all feel welcome. The food is good and service friendly and efficient. The quality is evident by the place always being packed.

Word of Mouth

By Elh0pe |

Friends from Austin met us there. Food was amazing. Margaritas was top notch. Service was great. I would love to go back. I honestly over indulged. It was impossible not to.

For hole in the wall Mexican, this place rocks!

For hole in the wall Mexican, this place rocks!

REALLY needs work on ambiance

By joyussohl |

Mexican food isn't hard to do .. so I tend to 'grade tough' on 5 items - ambiance, salsa, and tortillas. The ambiance here is ZERO. Loud, no attempt to make it an enjoyable 'experience'. People come for the food. Period. The salsa is excellent. . I'd give it 5 stars. But the tortillas aren't homemade. I can't stand the sour taste of non-homemade tortillas. I wouldn't come here at all , except that some friends of ours really like it.

Beware the margaritas

By Jetkins |

Perfectly fine Tex-Mex food - nothing particularly spectacular, but all of consistently good quality. Staff usually great, but a couple of times we have caught one or two of them on an "off" day. But per the title, beware the margaritas, especially if you're driving - they're large and unusually potent.

Velveeta and canned beans

By LaBolilla |

Do not be fooled by the look of this place it is soooo mediocre or below in value and food quality. I had cheese enchiladas and cheese was awful--beans tasted like they were canned..Not a good choice--go down the street a bit to La Casita.

Just okay... and stomachache

By Jessie E |

My friend and I were looking for some true Mexican - not TexMex - Food. The food here was just okay. Meat was tough and the chips seemed old. We both had horrible stomachaches about two hours after eating here. I’ve had worse, but I won’t be back.

Great food and value

By doodlebug4me |

Everyone in my family loves Enchiladas y Mas - my techie husband, 65-year-old mom, my hipster sister, my 3-year-old niece, and my own tween daughter. The margaritas are great, the salsa is yummy, the staff is friendly, and the value is awesome. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - all very good. A few things to know ahead of time: a) It's kind of a hole in the wall type of place - not fancy or fixed up - so if that's your vibe, you won't like it. b) There is really no good place to wait except the front lawn, and it gets crowded, so plan on being hot (or cold, or rained on) if you go at rush hour. There are 2 benches inside, but there is no air moving in the tiny, glass, waiting room so it's not very comfortable during the hottest part of the year, and usually, there are other people sitting there anyway.

Great lunch get there early its very busy

By konikowski |

I have eaten here many many times the enchiladas are to die for. Cokes are huge as are the waters w lemon I love this place and i work very close to this restaurant. I will eat here many many more times the salsa is always great tortillas home made and piping hot.

Fajitas from heaven + super-value margaritas...

By happy_traveler9787 |

I love coming here with... anyone. EyM is great for a leisurely lunch, a night out with friends, or a boisterous meal with family. It's nothing fancy or trendy but the cheese enchiladas and fajitas are delicious, and the margaritas are quite a lot of bang for your buck. Skip the chicken fajitas though, and go for the frozen rita instead of on the rocks. I usually get the cheese enchiladas and insist that someone else get the beef fajitas so that I can have a little of everything I love. The wait is never bad (quicker than you think) and the service is always warm and familial. Don't plan on doing anything for a few hours after because you might have the giggles and will almost certainly need a nap.

Many visits over many years

By 353tracya |

I've been coming to this restaurant for many years. The chicken fajitas and cheese enchiladas are my favorite. The service is iffy, sometimes good and often not so great but if you flag someone down, you will get what you need. The margaritas are really strong - watch out!

If you like salsa with a punch, go here.

By Phillip F |

I had not eaten at this restaurant for some time, and we just went back. The chalupas were tasty, the service quick and friendly and the hot sauce or salsa if you prefer, had a savory punch to it that salsa lovers like us really love. Well worth a visit.

When you are craving Mexican food...

By nancy w |

If you are looking for authenic tex~mex enchiladas as well as other entries, you need to try this restaurant. Everything is delicious.. from the Chile Con Queso and Crispy Tacos to our absolute favorite: Beef Enchiladas with their wonderful beef sauce. You will be spoiled by the wonderful food and hate to eat anywhere else.

good food, good drinks, good prices

By fingerguru |

There were six of us, and we had chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, vegetarian enchiladas, rice, beans, margaritas, and guacamole. The highlight was actually the guacamole--it was super-fresh, zingy, and subtly seasoned--could have eaten that all night. The rice was OK, the beans were average, the enchiladas were mixed: chicken rather dull, cheese OK, vegetarian and beef good. Sauces on the enchiladas: sour cream bland, beef with onions good, ranchero very good. The top shelf margaritas were excellent. The servers were nice, but at 9:30pm they were already mopping up and very eager for us to finish and depart. Prices were very reasonable. All in all an average experience, and one that we are not likely to repeat.

Very good Mex food in Austin!

By SnakeD3422 |

This place is kind of small, we went on a weekday night and it was packed! But we're seated right away w/ no wait- the food was amazing! Possibly the best I had all week in Austin & San Antonio.. We tried another night to go to Matts El Rancho but the wait was 1 1/2 hours.. Either way I loved this place, this was my 2nd time there.

The only thing missing from the cheese enchiladas, cheese.

By Austin720 |

I’ve lived in Austin for 60 years, down the way on Shoal Creek. I can’t remember how long I’ve been going to Enchilafas y Mas but pretty much from the beginning. We are leaving town for four months, so friends offered to take us to dinner anywhere. I said, “I can’t think of anything I would want for one of my last meals in Austin than a plate of those gooey cheese enchiladas covered in chili sauce. What a Diaappointment. I guess they got a little low on cheese so the chef decided to just roll up the tortilla real tight around a spec of cheese. ( by spec, I mean cheese that rolled up couldn’t have been more than 1/4 inch in diameter). it was so rolled up, it was well insulated which meant that tiny spec of cheese didn’t melted. Service was equally bad. The bartender couldn’t get the orders right. The waitress forgot things. My wife asked why didn’t I complain. You just don’t do that when your friends are taking you to dinner at a place you suggested. My family owned and operated restaurants, I have worked every position in a restaurant from bussing to waiter to cashier to chef. My Dad always said, “most disappointed customers don’t complain, they just don’t come back.”

Best enchiladas!!

By Peggy A |

Awesome place for enchiladas and frozen margaritas! The atmosphere is not fancy, but the food sure makes up for that. Service is very good and wait staff attentive.

Very Good Family Run Texmex Restaurant

By Bill M |

Been regulars at Y Mas for nearly 15 years. Potent, and very good, margaritas. Hot sauce means "hot", but you can ask for a milder version. As the name implies, they specialize in Enchiladas, but they also have very good fajitas and killer breakfasts. Can get very crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, but worth the wait.

Great Fajitas and Ritas

By LaTonya J |

The fajitas are seasoned really well and they give you a lot of food. The margaritas are Amazing and reasonably priced. The service is hit or miss and the rest of three food is just ok. The Taco meat is not seasoned at all so the enchiladas are just ok in my opinion. They don't have charro beams and they lose points for that in my opinion. I would give them 5 stars if the name was Fajitas y Mas

Never disappoints

By Debbie B |

Food here is great!! Breakfast tacos are yummy and served all day Saturday and Sunday. Great lunch specials Monday - Friday. This place is a dive - beware!! But the food speaks for itself. Service is usually very fast and friendly. We've been coming here for years and drive across town to dine here regularly. Wish they'd open one in Southwest Austin!

Good food - reasonable prices

By M J |

Enchiladas Y Mas serves consistently good Mexican food. On my last visit, my husband, two friends and I had lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant fills up quickly at lunch everyday so get there early or prepare to wait. Our friends food came was delivered 5 minutes quicker than my husband's and my meal. We were not happy with that but the food was good. We ordered beef enchiladas with chili sauce and cheese enchiladas with green sauce. Both were tasty. The restaurant is very informal.

Best cheese enchiladas and margaritas in Austin!

By Gina B |

This place has gotten a bad rap for its decor, but this isn't a place you come to for ambience. It is a place you go for great Mexican food and the best margaritas in Austin! I would probably classify the food as Tex-Mex, but you can get the enchiladas with a choice of something like 5 different sauces including a vegetarian one. I also love the guacamole salad. Yes, this is the place I go and always get the same thing. Last time I went I tried the fajitas - mixed beef and chicken. They were pretty good but not my favorite.

Hit or Miss

By Kevin R |

The food is typical Tex-Mex. The Chicken tenders and beef enchiladas are very good and their margaritas are on-par. The service is iffy...some staff are excellent while others are aloof. More attention needs be to centered on cleaning the place. It is dirty for sure. I won't comment on the one man/woman restrooms that are hardly attended to. AND watch out because beans and rice will cost you extra on some plate choices

Enchiladas Y Mas is a great place for Mexican food.

By mr_larry_smith |

We loved EnchiladasY Mas before it closed so we tried it now that it has reopened. We were pleasantly surprised to find it looks exactly like it did. It is just what we love: very informal with great food.

Great Tex-Mex

By Desiree b |

I've been here many times over the past 12 years. Always fast service with a smile. Great crunchy tacos. Fresh ingredients.

Don't let the outside fool you. It's good!

By Dwightfranklin1 |

Big portions, good service, and good food. You better get their early because parking is limited. We arrived at 11:15 and got the last parking spot. The locals in Austin pile in here as soon as it opens.

Enchiladas A Must!

By drsisters |

Liked everything about it. It's a family run restaurant. Nothing fancy, no large neon signs, you blink and you may miss it. But stop, go in and have a great meal. Great customer service, friendly atmoshphere. We lunched on a weekday and the place was hoping. Good, good food and plenty of it. Great menu, lots of good Mexican food to choose from. They even serve breakfast. A must when in Austin!

The name says it all

By austex_gringo |

Strongly recommend the enchiladas for an inexpensive lunch. Clean, friendly, and very busy.

Disappointed

By Whiskeyhope |

Typically one of our go to spots. We usually dine in but today we decided to do a carry out. We ordered combo fajitas for two. Got home (35-40 min drive) and was so disappointed in the portion of meat that we received. It was mostly peppers, onions and tomatoes. I had one fajita taco and my husband had two the rest was veggies. We had plenty of rice and beans. Just shorted on the actual fajitas. Everything looked and tasted amazing as it usually does; however I'm positive we will be looking for something to eat later as neither of us got full. I would think & if we spend $30+ including tip we would be full. I'm sure we will give them another try just; not sure it will be a carry out.

Excellent Tex Mex and margs.

By Tom B |

Excellent Tex Mex and margs. Enchiladas and salsa were also great. My son loved the fajitas, beans and rice.

GREAT cheese enchiladas...

By GoPlaces55940 |

GREAT cheese enchiladas. And, the best diet coke in town - seriously.

Margarita y Mas?

By TravelerFromPerth |

The Margarita's are lethal figure there is grain alcohol in them also. Enchilada are great. Large portion sizes very popular base atmosphere. But you don't go here for atmosphere.

good eating

By nancy w |

this is the best, authentic tex-mex restaurant in austin. my favorite dish is the "enchilada con queso". it's two enchiladas with beef gravy and plenty of cheese.

Best Mexican Food in North Austin. Period

By AustinActor |

Ohhhhh, where do I start? Kinfolk of Jorge's.... Ring a bell? It ought to. Home of the best margarita in the world. Undeniably. Great enchiladas, great tacos and great service. Too bad they're not serving Menudo anymore. You missed that.... but, you can make it up with three margaritas. This family and employees are the best. They will go down in food history in Austin. If you don't at least try this place, you're just downright fool.

B O M B

By katchina mae |

Every time I come to Austin, I try to eat here. Sometimes the wait is too long and they're closed one day a week, but this trip I hit the jackpot! We got seated immediately, no wait. The margaritas are good and strong and the food is excellent! This place is just as good as I remember, I would say this is my favorite restaurant in the Crestview area. The vibe is laid back, the servers are cool and the food is freakin fabulous. Cheese enchiladas with meat sauce highly recommended. At around $9 for a dinner plate, the prices are reasonable, especially for the quality. Cant wait to go back!!

wow, what food!!

By Charles B |

This place was packed, loud, and very relaxed. Our margaritas were potent! The hot sauce was fiery! The food was bang up delicious. If you want an upscale experience, this ain't the place but,for food and drink, be here for sure!

Excellent Tex-Mex!!

By twinkshouse |

This Tex-Mex restaurant is definitely local, and not a tourist destination, unless your a tourist who looks for off the beaten path. We got there around 7 pm and, due to capacity limits, there was an hour wait. We did choose to wait. During our wait outside, we saw a significant amount of take-away, so they do appear to be a popular restaurant. To their timeline, we were seated right at an hour after we got there. Tables were spaced out for social distancing. It isn't a large restaurant, so in the main room there were only about 7/8 tables. There we some other tables in an adjoining room, but not very many. The food here is EXCEPTIONAL!! We had their Queso, which was not as thick as some I've had, but the taste ranked way high by comparison. So we could have a sampling, we ordered Flautas and a dinner plate with Taco and Enchiladas. The Flautas were great, white meat, not dry and fried perfectly crisp; the Taco was very good and the Enchiladas were filled with cheese and the sauce was great! The rice and beans were also pretty tasty and the salsa had a bite, but it wasn't too hot! These plates were overflowing, so the prices being reasonable, you definitely get your monies worth. The woman who greeted us, and brought our chips/salsa and took our drink order, was very pleasant, but our actual server, he seemed less than pleased to be working the table. Nothing happened to warrant the attitude, so not sure what the issue there was. I can say that, based on the interactions we saw, they have a steady client base of regular customers. Even our server, being somewhat curt to us, had banter with another of his tables. I will say that the food was outstanding, the table service not so much, but the overall experience, with such great food, would warrant a return visit from me and I'd recommend it, knowing that you may not get an exceptionally friendly server, but you will get a wonderful meal!!

Pretty good Tex Mex

By David T |

This is a pretty good taqueria. It is packed at lunch for go early. I thought that the food was good but not outstanding. I went with a work group so we all had different items from the menu such as enchiladas, nachos, tacos or fajitas. Everyone liked their choices but nothing was outstanding. The service is great. The décor is typical of a taqueria. I like this restaurant and will go back. But there are other taquerias higher on my list.

Don't order chicken enchiladas

By Kkkb630 |

First time and very disappointed. The chicken inside the enchiladas was Dry and tasted as if it came from a CAN. I had to order more sauce to cover them. Rice. Beans and margarita were good. Not going back anytime soon.

Best enchiladas in town.

Excellent cheese enchiladas! This place stays busy for a reason! Not open everyday. Could use more parking.

Good Tacos

I wanted to get some Tortilla soup...but they don't have it on the menu. I did eat some good beef soft tacos though...by the crowd, seems to be very popular.
