Imagine 50 ways to run up a bill. This is it. Server was attentive at sundown on a Saturday night, and it was surprisingly not full. Linen tablecloths are nice touch and the warmers on the umbrellas were appreciated in the chill. Even blankets on every seat! Very odd when the cheapest meat on the menu is halibut. Steak prices are extraordinary. My halibut was cooked right but very small portion. Sides of veggies were good but at a price. View of Bay Bridge is priceless.

Fantastic manager, Kevin, and wait person Robert. The view was spectacular, food was the best I’ve had, and consider this a five star restaurant of the above condiments, we have sealed the deal to have my sons wedding reception here in the fall.

Well, even if I am giving Epic Steak 3 stars it does not mean that this restaurant is average. The view is magnificent, especially at night; the decoration and furniture are very tasteful; service is professional. However the only time I went I found the food disappointing. Just OK and not at all amazing. Let's say that the food was average, and therefore not justifying the price. We were 4 adults and we all thought the same. Our kids were happy with their steaks.

I have been here several times but had such a wonderful time yesterday wanted to post a review. We ate outside which is right on the Embarcadero with the most perfect view of the bay bridge. But inside dinning is just as nice with huge windows and a very elegant and warm decor. Service is terrific and our waiter Travis was probably the most accommodating server I have ever had. There were 6 of us and everyone just loved their meal. We brought our mothers both are 95 and one in a wheelchair. They loved it. Between an amazing view, great service and delicious food you can't go wrong .

The setting for this restaurant is undoubtedly stunning and the view of the bridge takes your breath away when out on the terrace. However you would expect the food to live up to the venue and unfortunately for me it simply did not. We attended a work event here and it may just be the set menu that was given to us but I found the food really lacking in quality, the crab cakes were OK and the New York Steak was very dry and very bland and a huge portion which nearly everyone on the table left large parts of. Dessert was the Chocolate Dome and that was by far the best dish of the meal. Overall experience was OK but service was also lacking and it felt just going through the motions so I definitely would not come here again.

Way overpriced. Food was good but way overpriced. Just look at the menu. Steak were cooked good. For a family style service for our party of 12, it wasn't family style portions. view was excellent

We had an excellent meal with stunning views of the bay bridge. The only slight issue is that my partner had stilton(blue cheese) sauce with her steak which slightly overpowered the meat as there was quite a lot of it. I had béarnaise sauce which came in a separate pouring jug which if possible would have been better for the blue sauce too. The food was really expensive which we were aware of when booking here

This was my second visit here. I asked for a table with a great view of the bridge as my date had never been. Epic did not disappoint. Sat us at a table on the patio with an amazing view of the bridge. Started with the seafood tower which did not disappoint. Some delicious offerings along with generous proportions. My date ordered the rib eye and I the filet. Both were cooked to perfection. Sides we agreed on the Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. Both were delicious. To go with our meal I ordered the Daou, Soul of a Lion. We visited the winery back in April and thought it would be fitting. It did not disappoint. In fact we shared some with the table next to us so they could enjoy it as well. If I were to give one negative comment it would be our waiter. He wasn't as attentive as I would have wished, but we did not let it ruin our amazing meal. Epic thank you for another amazing meal/experience!!

Had the short ribs and they were very good. Knocked a star as the risotto starter wasn't the greatest... basically cheese and risotto. The dessert was pretty good as well but a very different version of an apple pie. The service was excellent and attentive and the views were simply unapproachable beneath the bridge... stellar views.

We reserved seating for a party of 4 at Epic Steakhouse due to its high ranking in several lists and the stunning views. Well, the views are stunning. The food is average. Not bad, but definitely not high ranked. The meat was not as tender as we used to have in other steakhouses. We had to sent 1 steak back because it was overcooked. They did replace that without any issue. The deserts were not home made and if they were the cook should take more care in making the textures better. The personnel is not 'personal'. There is no feeling of being welcome as a guest while the pricing of the food is high. The personnel is more busy with checking how far the eating progresses and whether they can fit another party in that evening. The prices are not extraordinarely high (but still high), but nevertheless do not expect less then 500$ for a party of 4.The dining room is big and loud. So in conclusion: average food, high price, below par personnel. Not bad, but overrated. We would not recommend.

Nothing epic, just the name. Very noisy local. Service sufficient. Unacceptable cost for a meat dish, and considering the weight. Some sort of cut had four slices for a cost of over $40. Classic restaurant for cool customers and nothing more.

This steakhouse lives up to its name! Had my son’s birthday dinner there and EVERYTHING was fabulous! Service, wine list, view of the Bay Bridge, and most definitely the food. Had the charcuterie that made people who made a faces when they heard chicken liver LOVE it and changed their minds after the first taste. All the stakes were grilled to perfection and tasted phenomenal. We ordered every single side and all were fabulous. They even made the fries taste extra yummy- fried and salted to perfection. Can’t say enough about the fabulous service.

The location is great, of course, but the view aren't as spectacular as one would imagine (trees in the way). Service was super friendly (kudos!). Food was as I would expect in an upscale steak restaurant - all tasty but nothing really stuck out exceptional. However, the prices for sure did. SF prices have gone up but walking out with $800+ bill for 4 people? Wow. I'd give four stars for a "good" experience but at that price, I expect exceptional, not just "very good". What we all found a bit odd was the loud (both accustically and physically) parties at neighboring tables. Maybe it was just a bad night but it felt like we were in an upscale red light district restaurant.

Wine list has a "bad range" - most bottles a prohibitively expensive especially if you've not tried them before. Cocktails and wines by the glass are way out there on price. Hard to enjoy getting too much to drink when a glass costs more than the whole bottle of the wine being consumed. Appetizers were ok, very low on protein for the price. Tartar was very good - portion a bit small. The Garlic Shrimp De Jonghe was just 4 small shrimp inside of a butter soaked thick cut of toast. 22 bucks, 4 shrimp and the dish was very, very oily/fatty. Lobster bisque was ok - thin broth which was nice but no lobster meat - instead got a tiny shrimp cut in half! Fillet mignon was ok - was not cooked medium rare - more like rare/very rare. They charge for all the sauces but the Bearnaise - and kind of not worth it. Not memorable or epic. If the cook had bothered to do the finger test (touch the meat) to see if it was done they would have known. Side, the Julia Child's potatoes - not well executed - horrifically oily and did not remind me of Julia Child's Potato Dauphinois Gratin / Scalloped Potatoes or Potatoes Au Gratin at all. In fact I've had better frozen dinner versions of these. Vegetables - Sauteed Summer Squash - came out fairly cold and overcooked. Hasselback Potato - I've had tastier "tato skins" in a dive bar. They also give a high pressure to tip here - they come out and ask if you want them to put the tip on the bill for you, and give you a range starting at 18% going to 25% - who does this? high pressure tip pushing... Cost was around 900 for 3 people with tip. So tired of the tip culture in the USA - Japan is dining heaven comparatively. Restroom could use more frequent cleaning.

We had a work dinner at Epic Steak for around 50 people. We were in the Bay Room and attached patio that overlooked the Bay Bridge. The entire experience from beginning to end was amazing. The servers were top notch, the food was amazIng, and the view was nothing short of extraordinary! I would highly recommend holding an event at this venue.

We visited for dinner, which is the perfect time as the windows are open to the Oakland Bridge, which has an amazing light show during the evening. The food was amazing - we had steak which was perfect, a couple of seafood appetizers, and prime rib (which was not cooked as done to our request, but good enough). Our one disappointment was dessert. We ordered Milk and Cookies to share and it was just not good. The cookies were dry and bland and the milk was not at all special (was supposed to have flavoring, but we couldn't taste any). So overall, we recommend it - just skip that dessert and make sure you order your prime rib a little more done than you want it.

For once, I went to a restaurant on my own. Epic Steak has a bar style table for solo travellers with a great view to the action in the kitchen. Steaks are amazing from a local butcher. complemented with a amazing view, I love it from beginning to the end.

We enjoyed a great group dinner here. A clear night so beautiful views of the bridge and lots of people walking by on the path. Delicious steak and potatoes! Lemon risotto was way too lemony. Loved the chocolate ice box cake. Great wine selections.

Our service was B+. The server was clearly given instructions to push certain things. When asked if he’d eaten any of the items he was pushing, he said NO. My goodness. But, I had to appreciate his honesty. In general, the food is okay but I don’t think it is worth the price. I also have a problem with the server asking if we wanted bread and then discovering there was a charge for it that was not justified as it was nothing special given the fact that we were in San Francisco and many places serve fresh, warm sourdough!

Incredible restaurant, superb looking steaks. Although I felt a little peaky on the lunchtime, i had the excellent crab and goats cheese quiche, superb. My colleagues/friends steaks looked fantastic, a real range on our table, tomahawk t-bone, cote de bouef, steak and eggs, everyone seemed happy. The service was impeccable. The wine was amazing, I definitely recommend the Hope Well Lingua Franca Pinot Noir and one other we had, the cocktails were good. The desserts were also exceptional.

We took a holiday to San Francisco over my birthday week and had been looking for a restaurant to celebrate at, and this caught our eye during doing a bit of homework regarding our trip. A beautiful spot on the Embarcadero overlooking the bay bridge, with outside dining with heaters the service was second to none and my dessert was free as a gift for my birthday. I also received a card signed by all the staff. The food was amazing also. Is it expensive? Yeah, but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. It was one of my best birthdays. In a beautiful city at Beautiful restaurant.

The meatless Impossible Burger (the newer recipe) is served here. It’s a delicious alternative to beef patties and a great option for those who want to avoid meat.

This is a tough review to write because I really appreciated a lot about this place, especially the people. Everyone with whom we engaged was great. They were all eager to assist and exceedingly pleasant. The decor and the view of the Bay too were just outstanding. The food didn’t hit the way I would’ve hoped ultimately because they violated what I consider to be three cardinal sins of a high-end steakhouse. 1. Cut- the steak itself was a 14 ounce ribeye, which is definitely on the low end. Considering this is a $71 experience, quantity matters. But I can set aside the obvious issue of the price/ounce if the execution is flawless. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The other reason 14 ounces can become a problem is if it isn’t cut with thickness in mind you. If it’s cut too thin in order to cover more plate real estate then that directly affects the restaurant’s ability to execute on #2. 2. Cooking- There is no excuse for a high end steakhouse to not be able to make a steak anywhere on the entire range of steak temperature options. For example, I order my steak black and blue (or Pittsburgh rare). And when I do, I should never hear, “hm…we’ll try”. This is entirely unacceptable at a high end steakhouse. When I ordered my steak at Epic there was no indication there would be a problem. But when I got the steak I could tell the waitress was concerned, and rightfully so. This is when I heard, “chef said he can’t get the grill hot enough for black and blue without overcooking the inside”. This was partly due to the thickness (or thinness) of the steak and partly due to the temp of the grill. But what really stood out was that they managed to not be able to do either. It was just a light brown on the outside and it was medium to medium rare on the inside. They did the right thing and offered to remake it, and maybe if it wasn’t my anniversary I would have let them, but I don’t like sending food back and I certainly am not going to have my wife eat without me on our anniversary. So I ate it. It was seasoned nicely but I wasn’t thrilled with the situation. 3. Side dishes- all things being equal a steakhouse truly differentiates itself with the options, execution, and portion size of their side dishes. A steakhouse should be able to consistently provide great beef, seasoned well, cooked to perfection. After that, it should come down to a race between the side dishes. In my opinion cream spinach is to steakhouses what peanut butter is to jelly. You might not want it, but the option should always be there. They didn’t have cream spinach. That’s Cardinal sin #3. It’s too bad because I really liked the people.

We ate here on a Saturday night and didn't have a reservation, so we were super happy about being able to get a table for four. Our meal was amazing. Our service was fantastic and our view of the Bay Bridge was just a bonus on top of it all.

Great experience from start to finish. All the employees who interacted with us said happy anniversary to us, 5 star service! Food was delicious, ambiance was perfect. And to top it off they gave a free desert as an anniversary gift (with a little eatable “happy anniversary” frosting on top of it). Would definitely recommend them and would certainly go back.

The positive things with the restaurant is the outside terrace and the great view on the Bay Bridge and the Baywalk. The steaks were hard to cut, with a lot of fat. No real greens apart from sprouts. We ordered mushrooms, which were quite overcooked. Still looking for the best Steakhouse in San Francisco.

Disappointed in this restaurant. Our hotel concierge recommended this place for our anniversary dinner. I expected fine dining from the prices but when I sat down at our table, there were tv screens playing sports. Not exactly the vibe I wanted for a romantic anniversary dinner. BTW, there was no acknowledgment of it being our anniversary. While the location is very nice with an incredible view of the bridge, that’s about it. Food was okay. Service could have been better. The only thing “epic” were the prices!

Visited here for dinner after the 49ers game on October 27th. The restaurant was quite busy (so I’d recommend reservations if you can). We were seated by a window with a spectacular view of the Bay Bridge. Our server was delightful and attentive and provided outstanding service! My wife order the pork chop - which in her opinion was the best pork chop she’s ever eaten. I ordered the NY steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The only thing that kept me from giving this establishment a 5 star rating was the overall cost. I don’t mind paying a fair penny for a great meal, but the steak on the menu was a la carte - so a potato and vegetable side was an added cost. That is not something I’ve come across before in my travels.

I booked this place a few weeks before we came. This is a really nice restaurant, the staff were very friendly and helpful. When I arrived all the staff had signed a birthday card, which I thought was a nice touch. We sat outside on a nice warm October evening and there was also heaters on. Me and my girlfriend both got a steak and as it was Restaurant Week, you can add $30 to add a starter and a dessert. For start we had the Caesar salad and soup, I had the ribeye steak and my girlfriend had the fillet, dessert we had the apple crumble and the carrot cake, we had some beers a glass of wine and finished off with a glass of port and an Irish coffee. The food was delicious, all nicely cooked and prepared. The view in the restaurant is amazing. Sitting on my 50th birthday having a lovely meal overlooking the Bay Bridge. I’m very pleased this is where I chose for my birthday meal. It is expensive but it’s not every day you’re 50. The food and drinks came to around $300. This is definitely somewhere I would recommend.

The downstairs area is great with a fabulous view but unfortunately we were ushered updtairs which was not so atmospheric. Sevice was good, the food was good too. The bill seemed calculated in a very complicated manner and we found it difficult to check. Without the view, it's a bit expensive.

Went for lunch Las week. The food was terrific, a Expensive but the steak was perfection. Everything we has was marvelous including top notched service. It’s well situated in the Embarcadero with a great view of the bay bridge. Come for the food and stay to dine. It’s wonderful.

Really good, steak tartar was amazing, also the prime rib and the filet was very good. The place is nice, and has a beautiful view to the bridge. Service was very good.

Other than the water view which looks at the under belly of the Bay Bridge there really isn’t anything Epic about this steakhouse. Let’s start with the Valet. In short, bring cash for the $20 charge. For credit cards the guys use an app on their personal cell phone and it takes a photo of the card which is a bit scary since it also has my picture on it. Now to the food. Since it was lunchtime we tried the burger, filet and a side of potatoes and mushrooms. The mushrooms were a soggy mess with a presentation reminiscent of a dissected animal in a biology lab more than an appetizing side. It was just bits of gray matter with an oily sheen. The taste wasn’t much better, acting as an indiscernible mush. The burger was just OK despite looking more promising than the mushrooms. The burger looked Epic like something you would see in a commercial, yet the combination of house ground meats was a bit off. Each bite was a bit different, some better than others. The bacon was undercooked and almost raw. The filet lacked any taste at all. It wasn’t a bad cut, just no flavor to speak of whatsoever. I’m not sure if there was any seasoning to it all, I would guess not. The peach sorbet was outstanding but the apple cake seemed undercooked. Bread and butter upon request was above average. Overall, we will probably not return as the experience certainly did not live up to the name.

We had a fun night, Thursday evening, January 12th, enjoying friends, the ambiance of the restaurant, view of the Bay Bridge after finishing at JP Morgan week in San Francisco, and having arrived on Saturday, so we were looking to relax, wind down, and enjoy a stellar meal! This was our first time here for all of us, and we split the Caesar salad, 28-day aged bone-in 32-ounce porterhouse steak medium rare, SF Brian Flannery New York sirloin medium rare, black truffle mac and cheese, Julia Child's potatoes with gruyere cheese, Brussel sprouts, and hen of wood mushrooms. The evening was Epic! The lovely two hostesses that greeted us made us feel welcome, and Adrian was our waiter and made suggestions on meal options along with the wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and steaks were outstanding complimented by the side dishes, plus we have the most amazing view of the Bay Bridge! Thank you to all for a wonderful meal, at a place not to be missed! On a separate note: the lights on the Bay Bridge are funded through private donations, and if the $'s raised do not meet the budget, there is a plan to turn off the lights on the bridge. We have been to Water Bar and Slanted Door (closed on this trip) and always admired this view. Let's hope the lights stay on post March 2023!

This restaurant is excellent. I've been here several times, in the bar, on the patio, and in the dining room. Never disappointing!

Scallops were delicious. Personally did not care for the vegetables as they were either too spicy (broccoli) or too bland (green beans) the steak I am told was as delicious.

We had lunch at Epic today. Coincidentally the warmest day of the year so far in SF so dining al fresco was perfect. There were several groups with young children, even babies, the SERVICE was EXCELLENT! Though just the 2 of us, we ordered a huge assortment of appetizers, steak, salad, side, and dessert because of an almost forgotten gift certificate given to us pre-covid. Listed below in order of tasting, not in order of deliciousness. Oysters- fresh and delicious Crab Cake-plenty of crab, a little overcooked. I'm spoiled by spending a lot of time in the PNW and tasting the best crab cakes in the world. Steak Tartare- served with homemade potato chips- delicious. Ceasar salad-best I've had in years. Ribeye steak (rare) Having grown up in Ohio I'm a meat snob. It has to be tender, flavorful, and RARE! This steak exceeded my expectations. Brocollini-not so great Ice cream sundae- my husband managed to eat several bites even after so much food. He said it was good. We plan to enjoy our doggie bags for dinner.

We ate here in the evening and the view over the Bay Bridge was stunning. The food is great quality and there is a lot of it. You will not leave here hungry that’s for sure.

My first time to San Francisco and I made reservations to have dinner at Epic Steak, well I am so glad I did. We were greeted within moments of being seated by our amazing server, Michael who is originally from the East coast like us. He was very attentive and he constantly came over to make sure we had everything we needed. Michael was top notch for sure. The ambiance of the restaurant was just amazing with views of the Bay Bridge and an open floor plan so that no matter where you sat in the restaurant you were able to experience the breathtaking views. The food and drinks topped off this experience. I ordered the lamb chops and my Mom ordered the Ribeye and let’s just say, wow wow wow! The martini’s were tasty and all you needed was one because they know how to makes drinks. The dessert was the icing on the cake. I was 100% satisfied with my experience. I will be back for sure. Thank you Epic Steak.

We spent a year in San Francisco and walked by Epic's stunning in/outdoor space everyday. We finally had an amazing outdoor brunch here last August. They knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so there was a warm card waiting for us from the staff. The staff all day were great. The food and drinks were solid. The location and view is unmatched. What a gem of an afternoon!

Near the Golden bridge of Sân Francisco you can find this steakhouse. The place and the view is amazing…BUT the service and the quality of the food no in relation with the price…almost 300$ per person….

The restaurant offers very nice indoor and outdoor seating. The views of the bay and the Bay Bridge are very good. It is also good for people watching, as they stroll by. The menu for lunch was on the smaller and succinct side. The service was acceptable and the weakest part of our dining experience. I tried the Dungeons Crab Louie. The portion was surprisingly large and the crab had a very good light flavor. The citrus in the Louie worked nicely. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend this dish. I also recommend the outdoor seating. Epic would be very good for a date night/lunch.

Visited again last night - if you want great steak and great napa wine this the place to go. Great views of illuminated bay bridge and highest quality ingredients - have been several times since it opened 10 years ago

The view of the bridge from the terrace is spectacular. Service was attentive and quick to rectify a steak that was over cooked. Salads were not impressive - I would stick to the steaks and sides which were very good. Prices are high but the food and view are worth it.

The food is very good, but sit on the terrace and enjoy the spectacular view of the bay bridge and the lighting display. The service is very good, wines are good but be prepared to pay high prices for the view.

Set on the Embarcadero with sweeping views of The Bay Bridge this is a serious restaurant with great food and wine. We enjoyed outdoor dining at lunch. The burgers are spectacular, served well-seasoned and at temperature. The fries are crispy and lightly salted-don’t miss the house made catsup. The wine list is well priced and offers a hard-to-find selection. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly, adding a lot to the overall experience.

Went here for my Sister’s birthday. Sat on the patio with a beautiful view. Service was great, food was perfect, steak done to my sister’s request. Have blankets on the chairs in case you get cold. Awesome experience. Chef Tolsma even came out to say hello and check on our service.

This is a restaurant you have to experience. Don't let the dollar signs scare you. There is very good value here when you consider the quality of the food, the beautiful venue and views, the ambiance, and the level of service. In an era of Price Fix restaurants or tasting menus this is a traditional approach to ala cart dining. You choose what you want to enjoy. From the starters to the steaks it couldn't have been better. I would particularly recommend the Julia Child's potatoes. The perfect accompaniment to your choice of entree. The view of the Bay Bridge is spectacular and you can see the lights dancing along the spans. Our server was knowledgeable about each menu item and had good wine recommendations. If you like steaks and other well prepared dishes, this is a must visit.

We were so looking forward to our dinner here. Venue is beautiful with the Bay bridge and SF Bay as a picturesque background. Decor simple and stately. Our waiter, Kevin was pleasant, but reserved and very attentive to the party of 6 next to us. His attention to us was minimal. He did not return after serving us our steak to check on us. That was disappointing. Perhaps he is inexperienced? Food was good, but I’ve eaten in local steak houses in our NYC metro area that surpassed it. The steaks are quite large with plenty to share amongst the 2 of us. The Julia Child potato dish was good. Not spectacular. Shrimp cocktail appetizer was very good. My husband was treated to his apple tart with ginger ice cream dessert because we were celebrating his birthday. That was nice. We have dined elsewhere in SF our last trip and decided to dine here instead of our old favorite. I kind of wish we stuck to that instead.

We had a wonderful dinner at EPIC - and it was EPIC. Loved the location, the water view was wonderful. Steak and apps were perfect and delicious.

This is where I had my first meal in San Francisco. Great start! Tasty good, super awesome staff (especially Jenn)! I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to return. Next time I’m in the city, I’ll stop by again.

Came here with a friend for Brunch. The scenery was beautiful, and the waiter was nice, but he forgot my drink, which was a little annoying but not really a big deal. We ordered the Steak Tartare was amazing, and my friend really liked the steak. However, I had the crab Benedict which was only alright. Not really worth the price. I would definitely come back for the beautiful view of the bridge and the bay as well as for the steak tartare but other than that nothing really impressed me.

Steaks and grills were superb. Service was impeccable. I would not mind going back to it next time we visit SF. Place has a relaxed atmosphere. The views of the Bay Bridge from the restaurant was just fantastic too.

Consistently excellent. Epic is a go-to for special occasions and a splurge dinner. Steak is always perfectly prepared, love the design-it-yourself salad, and the wine list is to die for! Service was impeccable. It's spendy, but worth every penny!

I've been searching for a restaurant where I will enjoy perfectly cooked meat and envibe app recommends Epic Steak. For meat lovers, you will find here almost everything you want. IMO the best damn filet from their menu is something you should try as a meat lover

Amazing evening with another couple! We ordered the prime rib, filet, and scallops and they were all amazing! Excellent drink selection. Beautiful view of the bay bridge at night. After we ate, we enjoyed a lovely walk along the board walk. It’s a little pricey, but a great time for a special event!

I really like the setting next to the Bay Bridge and the interior is nice and makes it feel a bit luxurious. Oysters and meat are good, but not outstanding. Overall a nice place to go to.

We had a perfect SF summer night, one that was free of the windy evening chill usually found in the city. So we gave Epic a try. There's an indoor or outdoor option, we went out of the patio and had a nice table with a great view. The staff and service was courteous and attentive. Unfortunately, that's about where the highlights ended. My wife ordered two seafood sides, which were just ok, and a hassleback potato (which they forgot, and brought late, under cooked). I ordered the Ribeye medium rare, blue cheese on top with a side of fries. The steak seemed a bit over cooked, and/or one of those situations where it was probably sou vide ahead of time and seared (not nearly enough) to order. I don't understand why anyone thinks this works. It's changes the grain structure of steak, making it soft and/or stringy and just gray. Sadly, the restaurant has a beautiful wood fire oven but couldn't figure out how to impart any of that flavor into the steak. I just don't understand ruining a $50+ cut. The fries were good. So was my glass of Cab. Anyway, for the price this was just an underwhelming night. The server brought a shot of 1942 Don Julio to apologize for the missed potato. Which in of itself is a nice gesture, but it was my wife's order (and she doesn't / wasn't drinking). So I got tequila for her missed order? Odd. Bottom line, for the price this was just an underwhelming night. I could see going for a drink at the outdoor bar on a nice night. But that's about it.

It’s really nice in the night... under the Bay bridge the view so great... great food , service at the bar was exceptional... place is really good to host a business dinner..

This restaurant is located right on the water on the Embarcadero with a view of the bay bridge and within walking distance of the Ferry Building. We were 6 people to have lunch and enjoyed an excellent meal. Most of us had steaks with one burger. Around the table there was a NY steak which was the thickest one I’ve ever seen. There were 2 types of ribeyes and four of us had those. We also had three of their salads and two of the appetizers. Everything was delicious. We’re already planning our next meal there.

We took my mother-in-law by ferry from Larkspur to Embarcadero for lunch at Epic Steak. We sat outside in beautiful weather and enjoyed an outstanding piece of meat with sides of spinach, fries and potatoes & mushrooms. The open cabernet was very good as was the Trumer on tab. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake, the rhubarb and berry tart and the cheesecake, followed by espresso. The food was excellent and the waitress outstanding. She had the kitchen write “Happy Birthday” on one dessert.

The atmosphere and staff were spectacular. They really treated us like old friends and the food was to die for - best we have ever had. The manager made sure everything was to our liking and even surprised us with a treat at the end. It was a special night and we will surely be coming back. Thank you for making our family outing so memorable!

The restaurant has a great view of the bay bridge which is lit up at night. The quality of the steak was excellent the best I have ever had while the service quality added to the overall evening.

This place was just OK. We were a party of three and one meal was sent back and the others were marginal at best. The view is the best part but be prepared for lots of large parties and a very loud experience.

We chose Epic over the sister restaurant because it offered a special prime rib dinner on Monday. When we arrived, we were promptly seated at a window table as we requested, and found the facility to be quite enjoyable. The service provided by Roger was superb, and he should be commended for his efforts during our dinner. What was disappointing was the fact that the chef apparently does not understand how to prepare prime rib. On our initial plate in a request for medium rare prime rib came out medium well. Roger was very efficient in returning the plate to the kitchen and shortly thereafter brought out another plating of prime rib. This one rather than being medium well was medium. The overcooked nature of the prime rib, and the toughness of the piece of meat made the less than enjoyable. I would suggest staying away from the prime rib. I did notice other tables with steaks individually prepared. Appeared to come out as they were ordered. I probably wouldn’t go back to Epic but likely choose the sister restaurant serving fish

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. Every thing was absolutely wonderful. We did have reservations and let them know ahead of time that it was our anniversary, but their staff was the best. Dana our waiter had great recommendations and everyone was very professional. Great location too. And the food was great. I had the filet and my wife had the aged rib-eye. Wine, and drinks were perfect. I will definitely go back!

Great food, great view, great service. Perfectly cooked steak. Wonderful sides. All in all a great experience and meal. Definitely worth going to.

We had a wonderful meal at Epic. Everything was cooked to perfection. One of the best steaks I have had on the West coast. Only complaint is the prices. Food and wine were all expensive. I know wine prices and most were marked up 3 times.

Excellent outdoor dining experience. Great option to add soup or salad, side and dessert for $20- great deal. Beautiful view of Bay Bridge. The staff is doing a great job working with Covid opportunities.

If you love steak, this is the place for you. I came here with my wife while we were on our honeymoon. The staff were great, our server Tregg was super nice and enthusiastic. He helped us pick steaks and gave recommendations on how to have them cooked. The restaurant was busy but we always felt looked after. We had a great view looking out on to the Bay Bridge. The food was delicious, the steak was perfect and the sauces and seasonings complimented each other really well. We finished the night with a delicious cocktail. Overall great experience.

We chose Epic as our final dinner destination while vacationing in SF. What a fabulous experience! Great vibe, great decor, terrific service and delicious food and wine. Oh, and did I mention the view?!?! I'm not a meat eater but had several options to choose from. We were all very satisfied with our choices and had an absolutely awesome night. Really, really good.

Very pricey place! when you walk in you'll see why the view as you eat you steak is fantastic. The steak was nice too. had a little bar upstairs but if you don't want to eat you can walk down the front where the restaurant is situated and take in the views or just go have a drink inside

Five for dinner at 6:30pm and the place was already very busy. It is well organized and operated and everything went smoothly with no sense of being rushed or hurried. The seafood indulgence platter was fantastic and the grilled octopus was the best I’ve ever had.

We booked Brunch here for an anniversary celebration. The venue asked if we were celebrating and made us very welcome. We were given a card signed by the staff and a complimentary dessert to share. This is clearly something Epic Steak does for anyone celebrating but is was done is such a way that it made the occasion very special. We ordered Bloody Mary which I think is the best we have ever had. We both had the Steak and Eggs which was delicious. We were sat outside and the jazz band provided great entertainment. The welcome, service, food and atmosphere were all spot on, and if we had been in San Francisco longer, we would have gone back for dinner. Definitely recommended.

Truly an EPIC steakhouse. One of the top three in the City those being House of Prime Rib and the other Harris Ranch. Coming in fourth would b e Maestros. Epic 's steak a filet was one of the most tender and flavorful I have ever had. Plus there is the view .,it right on the Bay! Usually waterside restaurant rely on their view not their food, this is the exception.

I'll start with great flavor and tender cuts. Great flavor. The prices are high, but it's a high end restaurant. Good size cuts and you do not leave hungry. The fritto misto wasnt the greatest I've had. Little to dry. The sides available had good flavor and portion size is enough for two or more. Wine and cocktail selection is good. I only gave a four rating due to appetizer not being up to par for price.

We visited this bar on the weekend we arrived and did the fizz brunch. The bar is beautiful and the views from the outside eating area are stunning with a great view of the Bay Bridge. We returned again in the evening a few days later and sat out on the balcony on the second floor. The view is even better at night with the Bay Bridge all lit. Very romantic and mesmerising to watch the lights change. The staff were all great on both visits however on our evening visit our host Sarah Knopp really made our night. She was great fun and gave us loads of local tips. She was very friendly and really looked after us. She really made our visit and even brought us an unexpected cake as we were celebrating our anniversary whilst in SF. Sarah is a credit to this venue and we will definitely be returning whilst in SF.

The server Adrian was exceptional and the highlight of our dinner. Also, the wagyu steak was phenomenal. Everything else left much to be desired. The sides weren’t good and drinks were average. With Epic in the name that’s what you would expect. We were willing to pay the very hefty prices for an “epic” experience unfortunately that’s not what occurred.

We went to Epic for a 50 Wedding anniversary dinner. We requested a view of the bay bridge. We were pleased our request was granted. They have lots of seating both in and outside. It was a little chilly when we went and would not want to be seated outside. I did notice they had heat towers. Food Superb! You will not be disappointed. We had They smoked prime rib, which was excellent. 12oz was the smallest cut and was huge! Came with yorkshire, which was good. The guests of honors had crab cakes, oysters,90z filet, carrots, asparagus & potato puree. For the expense, it was well worth it as everything was excellent. Service was very good. our waiter did a great job. The only thing was we did stay over our 2 hours. They were very good about it. Only thing I don't like is the surcharge the restaurants charge, so be aware they do this. WOULD RECOMMEND, great meal and ambiance.

My company reserved the upper level deck and private dining room. It was perfect! The outdoor space had a bar and offered a beautiful view of the Oakland Bay Bridge. When we moved into the party room, it was spacious. The food ... 5 stars! Even those who has the vegetarian meal were very satisfied. The service ... 5 stars! The waiters were on point. Food was brought out and cooked as requested. Going above and beyond ... 5 stars! At pur rooftop bar, they didn't have a wine I preferred and they made an effort to find a bottle for me. Definaley deserves a return trip!

Beautiful location overlooking the Bay Bridge, stunning views at night. Steaks were excellent, as you'd expect given the name and the prices. Well cooked, salted perfectly, delicious. And I guess if you come to a steak restaurant, then that's what ultimately matters! The starters were pretty average. The crab terrine had a couple of bits of shell in (not good at these prices) and the calamari came with an odd salad of basically a couple of grapefruit segments on salad leaves, not quite as described on the menu. But hey, it's the steaks that matter. Service was a little pushy and fast but professional and friendly. It felt like we were being chased through our meal a bit, and drinks only turned up half way through the starters but not bad overall. I'd go back, but would skip starters and go to the main event...

Had a wonderful time at Epic Steak for our Anniversary. Sat by the window, overlooking the bay bridge. Really something beautiful. Top notch service from all the staff and delicious food. Would come here again on our next trip to SF. It was pricey though!

Great steak, great ambiance, great views. The steaks all came out more rare than we ordered, but all in all it was a good experience.

We had a wonderful window side table with a great view of the bay and bridge for our anniversary dinner, the service was great, food was very good, and the ambience was outstanding. You can't go wrong at Epic for a great lunch or dinner in SF!!

Spectacular location overlooking Bay Bridge. Stroll the bay front. Great terrace - grab it if not too cold. Solid steakhouse menu. Sister restaurant WaterBar is also buzzing next door. Short pleasant walk from downtown.

I had planned a surprise gathering for a friend's 60th. She and I and one other person were there early, so we went to the bar area. Limited seating at the bar, but timing was good as a couple of folks left about 5 minutes after we arrived. We each had a drink before our 6pm reservation. Two of the four surprise guests arrived before we made our way to the table. The last two arrived shortly after. Friend was wonderfully surprised. Yay! Now on to the food. We started the shellfish indulgence platter appetizer ($AQ), consisting of crab, lobster, shrimp, oysters and ceviche. It included sauces for each of the items, and it was all delicious! We also ordered the bread & butter ($6), which came with a flight of two butters and a wonderful olive oil. I had the wedge ($16), which was the best I’ve had ever. The dressing had a smoothness to it I’ve not had with other wedge salads. And they replaced the usual bacon with prosciutto, and added seeds and nuts, which made it stand out. Others had the EPIC Caesar ($15, good, but nothing special), the craft-your-own-salad ($17), the mushroom risotto ($18, was delicious - we also shared an order with the table), the lobster bisque ($14, she cleaned her bowl), and the bruschetta ($17, outstanding!). For our mains, the birthday gal and I shared the porterhouse, medium rare ($94, definitely enough for 2 - there was a bit of gristly fat in it that I always find gross, but the rest of the marbling was fine), married couple shared the cote de boeuf ($106, also enough for 2 - they loved it!), another had the grass-fed ribeye ($56 - he said it was delicious), another the salmon ($38 - she very much enjoyed it), and the 7th just had sides as she’s a vegetarian. Everyone was very satisfied with their mains. On the side we shared spatzle gratin (basically mac & cheese, with fontina cheese), “Julia Child’s” potatoes (yummy!), squash (not one piece left), the aforementioned risotto (quite tasty), and brussels sprouts (good, nothing special). All sides were $13. We did enjoy a couple of bottles of red wine with dinner. One of the others spoke with their sommelier about the two bottles we wanted to try. One was a Malbec, the other I don't remember. But we all enjoyed both of them. I did find it amusing they had to different glass sizes for each of the grape varietals. Finally, dessert. We were all full, but we wanted to at least try a couple of items. So the 7 of us shared a baked Alaska and the winter citrus cake. I’d never had a baked Alaska; it was delicious! We all enjoyed it. And someone finally explained to me how the ice cream inside doesn't melt even when the dessert is practically set on fire. (In case you're wondering, the meringue acts like an insulator around the ice cream, so it won't melt, providing it sets for long enough in the freezer beforehand.) The birthday gal particularly enjoyed the winter citrus cake. Oh, one other thing. If you can, get a table with a view of the Bay Bridge. It currently has an art installment with the light show on the cabling, and it is stunning! It's a great way to spend the evening. Expensive? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely! I would 100% recommend going there for any special occasion. Bon Appétit

What a fabulous restaurant. They are absolutely outstanding in all facets. The food, the service and the facilities were all first class. Several of us, there were six, claimed it was one of the best meals we had. It all begins with a great waiter and Trey certainly was that. He was knowledgeable about the wine and menu, had a great personality and was a joy. All six of us ordered the filets and each was cooked to perfection and serve exactly as ordered. The sides were very tasty and all servings were hot. The deserts were amazing. We also thought the prices were fair for the quality of the food. We would definitely recommend dining at Epic. On Our next trip to San Francisco, we will definitely dine again. Thanks for capping a wonderful day in the city.

Often times we go to a restaurant and have a terrific meal and rave about it. Then, in our enthusiasm we go back only to be disappointed as it not being quite what we remembered. That is not the case with Epic Steak. We recently returned and it was every bit as good as in our previous visit. This time we ordered Rack of Lamb along with the Julia Child potatoes (a must order). The rack was cooked to perfection and, since we were splitting the order, delivered each of us our own plate rather than our having to do it ourselves. Great ambiance, service, and food. What more could you ask for?

Epic provides an excellent setting and very friendly and professional staff. It isn’t the cheapest - but the steak was succulent and very tasty, while the shrimp starter was excellent. Would I return - yes in a heartbeat. There was a real cross in the patrons attire - from dressed up, to jeans and very casual. Neither felt out of place… It was an extremely enjoyable experience.

I went to a post holiday party here this past week with a business associate and had a nice time. They had a small buffet table with raw oysters, prawns, clams, a cheese selection and a meat platter. They also brought out hot appetizers as well which were all very tasty. They had a full bar with a very nice wine selection. The view from Epic at night is also beautiful and looks out at the SF Bay Bridge (see attached). In addition to the good food, I thought the service was excellent with the bartenders and wait staff being super friendly and polite. I tip my hat to the team working the event on February 13th in the atrium.

Great setting and amazing food! Lowell was our waiter and was amazing! My birthday couple days away and was surprised with a treat! So thoughtful and caring. The whole place was an amazing setting and great food! A must on the Bay!!!!!! So professional and they make it special for all the guest!

Not so epic... the cake was gross, service was subpar, and over all just not a great menu selection.

It is great to find a restaurant that delivers in terms of the whole experience to entertain important customers. While not a cheap restaurant Epic delivers in terms of the overall customer experience, quality of food, service and location. We used a private function room and it was spectacular. I would highly recommend Epic for business dinners and lunches or special occasions.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner there. Everything was great - food, service and ambiance. We had the scallops appetizer, plus bread and the butter "flight" She had the filet mignon, I the ribeye. We had the two different potato sides. Dessert was a complimentary rhubarb with strawberry tart. Come with a large appetite. With hindsight, I'd say just split a side. Be prepared, Epic has upscale prices, but it's worth it, and the noise level can be quite high. Make sure to get a table with a good view of the Bay Bridge.

I would go somewhere else. So when we arrived there were homeless people outside around the place making their beds (7 pm) and there was a guy peeing on the side of the building. Mentioned this to the hostess, who acted like we were bothering her, she said,"that's the norm around here not much we can do about it." Really?! For the prices they charge they should be able to hire someone to walk around the building to make sure no one is peeing on it. The place is a little small and cramped and very noisy. Practically had to yell at each other. We were forced to order 12 oz and 14 oz steaks starting at over 50 bucks because that's the beginning size unless you want a 6 oz filet mignon for 49 bucks. 12 ounces of meat is a lot. And they come by themselves. Everything else is extra. Rolls and butter 6 bucks. I expect a steak house in SF to be expensive but this was ridiculous. For 4 people our bill was over 300 before tax and a stupid 5.5% SF Mandate surcharge that goes towards healthcare for all SFns. After all that it was over 400. We left close to a 15% cash tip pretax, around 50, I know a little on the cheap side but come on she doesn't need 20% of each 50 dollar steak she brought out and a tip is not mandatory. She actually came back to us as we were getting ready to leave and told us they usually ask for 18 to 25 %. Really?!!?! Not worth it! Go somewhere else and then take a walk on the pier by the bay bridge you'll have a much better time!

A group of 4 went here for dinner. We were seated outside with the Bay Bridge as an amazing back drop. Although this is a steak restaurant it was able to cater for our vegetarian friend. The food was of a high standard and good portion sizes. We really loved the three kinds of salt that accompanied our meal. The wine list comprehensive without being overwhelming. We found the wait staff to attentive and engaging without being intrusive. If I'm ever in SF again I'll be back.

Very nice angus beef burger with all the trimmings. Fries with bernaise sauce. AND a brownie!! Close to SFFD fire boat station.

Pair an unbelievable view (of the Bay Bridge lit up at night) with fantastic food, service and ambience and you have the experience we enjoyed at "EPIC" - phenomenal! We started our delicious meal with a shared charcuterie board - fantastic! Our steaks were perfectly prepared and served with several "sides" that we selected (Brussels sprouts, potatoes, broccolini, etc.) All in all - a festive and memorable meal for our group of four!

Just returned from dinner here. Have lived in San Francisco for 40 years and normally would not go to what we would think of as a tourist place. But the steaks and hospitality were excellent. No matter how many times you’ve seen it, the view of the Bay Bridge is breathtaking !

Epic it is, I've try the T Bone with Lobster, at the bar and it was really really tasty. The view if you seat close to the window is also great but the overall restaurant is very pleasant.

I ate outside on a pleasant evening. The food was well cooked and well presented. There was a reasonable range but perhaps a little limited on vegetables. The drinks were good with an extensive wine list and some reasonable wines by the glass. Service was attentive and efficient and the meal did not feel rushed. Overall this was a nice place to a steak.

This place was the opposite of EPIC. Terrible service, rude servers, mediocre food… - The didn’t seat us where we had noted in our reservation, the front desk guy was very unprofessional and didn’t even apologize. He could barely speak English - the server kept pushing us to order wine or cocktails, we kept saying we don’t want any and he acted so surprised and disappointed, we couldn’t believe his attitude, at this point we knew something was wrong with this place - Then he brought water. Adding to our dismay, the water glasses had an unpleasant odor. When we politely requested replacements, the server responded angrily, insisting there were no alternative water options and denying any odor. - The quality of the food was subpar at best. I orderer a medium well steak but what arrived was a rare one! I showed this to their manager and she agreed this is not mid well. Then they just took the remaining meat on my plate and reheated it instead of bringing a new plate. Is this too much to ask for a $70 meal?? At the end we complained to the manager and she tried to make up for all this dissatisfaction with a desert. While we appreciate the gesture it didn’t make up for the ruined night and money. We won’t be coming back.

We celebrated the last night of our holiday in San Francisco and my husband's birthday at Epic. The view alone is well worth going to the restaurant for. However, we cannot express how amazing the food was, how friendly the staff were and what an excellent evening we had. The waiter, Jose, was brilliant. We had our 2 year old with us and Jose and the team at Epic made him feel as welcome as every other guest there. Thank you for an amazing evening

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. This place is located right by the Bay with beautiful view of the water and the Bay Bridge. Our server was great and very helpful during our whole dinner. She helped explain the dishes and all the accompaniments. The restaurant had a nice industrial look with a fireplace by our table. We ordered the filet mignon and my goodness it was delicious! My steak was cooked the way I wanted and it was very tender. They provided chimichuri sauce and their own steak sauce. Also they had different salts to add flavors to the meal. We had an assortment of side dishes to go with our meal and all of them were great. I would definitely come back here for any special events.

I reserved a table for 6 for a business dinner that included my boss and his boss. It was my boss’s birthday, so I asked if they could acknowledge that in a tasteful way. They did a FANTASTIC job — they gave us a lovely table, the menus on the table all were labeled “_______’s Birthday Dinner” and the service from our waiter, Michael, was excellent. There was even a birthday card from the staff and they comped us a piece of cake (with the lit candle, of course). My ribeye steak was delicious. The dinner went really well — the perfect combination of professionalism, attention to detail and personal connection.

Excellent choice for food, atmosphere and service. All were outstanding. We had a window seat overlooking the Bay Bridge. Incredible view during dinner. Good and service were top notch.

Had a very soecial evening at Eouc Steakhouse. All the staff were friendly and congratulated us on our anniversary. The table had lovely views of the Bay Bridge and the crab and steak were bith "epic". Its pricey so you need a budget or special occassion but if thats the case then its well worth it!

I have deliberately taken my time in writing this having eaten here nearly a week ago. With so many good reviews I was not sure if my opinion was correct especially with this being one of the first meals of our US trip. We have now ate in many more restaurants and I think my conclusion is right, at this price point this restaurant is not good enough. The food is okay the location excellent and the service attentive to a point, but we have since had better for a third of the price. We had a shrimp salad and oysters to start, followed by steak and lobster. If you are going to use the word epic in your name, you really do have to be special in every way unfortunately this restaurant is not. I would not return and wouldn’t recommend.

This is by far the Five Star and beyond service as well as quality I was looking for. Living here in San Francisco, 5 star restaurants are a dime a dozen but there are only a few that go above and beyond their own quality. Epic steak has gone beyond my expectations of a five star restaurant. From beginning to end, they provided outstanding service. My partner and i celebrated our anniversary and he wanted to try this place. I’ve always passed by it during my jog down the Embarcadero and finally got the chance to try it. I made reservations noting our celebration for the evening and upon arrival, the front of the house hostess greeted us with a friendly welcome and smile. Confirming our reservation, she addressed our celebration for the evening and handed a anniversary card with the staff members signature. Most places don’t even acknowledge the reason for your visit even when you notate it on the reservation. Seated just as we requested in our reservation for a window view of the Bay bridge, our hostess even congratulated us on our special evening and was very sweet. I have dined in many fine dining establishments but this one takes the cake. The quality of the food and generous portions were a hit in my book. I was passing out from how flavorful all the dishes were from the appetizer to the desert, I went all in for a full course meal and they did not disappoint. All in all, this is the best of fine dining you will find in the city. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable dining experience. I will sure to come back and share my amazing experience with my clients and network. As a Realtor, everyone is always asking for the best places in town once they relocate in to the city and this will be my number one recommendation.

Restaurant on the bay very nice dinner great meat at the top Service great wine even the prices a little less... but if you are there it deserves!

We were recommended to go here for dinner to see the lights on the Bay Bridge. Was not disappointed at all. We sat out on the balcony and had a wonderful evening. Recommend you book to ensure a table though.

This restaurant came recommended by the hotel. The views were stunning, and other than the intial courses, the food was not great. Since the pricing was high, I had expections that the food would be impeccable. This may be a better lunch venue. Hard to mess up a burger.

We came here for a special occasion. We will not come back because the cost is excessive for what you get. Everything is a la carte. The least expensive steak is $56 for 6oz. We were told sides ($14 each) could be shared (family style). There were 3 of us. We received 5, yes only 5 asparagus spears for the meal. The portion of potatoes would have satisfied only 1 person. The bread (a la carte) was nothing fancy. Service was excellent and the location is nice. My steak was cooked perfectly. However, I can enjoy a meal for much less money somewhere else.

Went to EPIC Steak for dinner last night. To get right to the point, the food was fine (as expected given the price), the service was fine (as expected given the price), but the ambiance could not have been worse. We have been there many times in the past, and each time were seated in the Main Dining Room. Last night we were seated outside on the patio under a tent. Before last evening, I never knew that sitting outside was even an option. I can tell you when you make a reservation online, they don't mention that sitting outside is a possibility. In general, I don't enjoy sitting outside on a patio, covered or not, in December when I'm paying $200 a person for a meal. There is a plethora of steakhouses in SF that offer equal quality when it comes to food and service where you can enjoy their warm and inviting decor and not sit outside looking through plastic sheathing rustling in the wind. There's a reason they don't mention it as an option when making an online reservation.......because it's a very, very poor customer experience.

The view of the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge were just the beginning of a perfect dinner. The service was impeccable and the food and wine were delicious. My Prime Rib was cooked to perfection.

If you lookin for an exceptional San Francisco experience, this is THE place to go for a special and fancy ($$$) dinner in a lovely setting with amazing service. A group of 5, we went to celebrate a birthday. Staff was attentive and polite. The choices on menu (changes often so its never the same old menu) were beautifully presented and outrageously delicious. We were able to linger, never rushed, and we ordered and received out appetizers & drinks and then we ordered our main entrees and sides and wine. Scallops were incredible and so was the whole fish (red snapper) of the day, filet and rib eye dishes were perfectly cooked and potato sides - YUM!! This was my second visit, the first for the birthday boy and 3rd visit for the other 3. We sat on the patio facing the Bay Bridge (that looks great with lights at night), blankets were available on each chair and towards dessert time the heater lamp was turned on. Absolutely lovely. The. birthday boy received a free dessert in a bowl with "Happy Birthday" written in frosting. This was a great dining experience!

Had dinner here 2 weeks ago while in town for a convention and it was amazing. The food was beyond excellent and the service was unmatched. I've eaten in many many steakhouses around the country and this is top 3. If ever back in San Fran will 100% eat here again!

Typically when you have an awesome view, the restaurant is average. This is not the case! First, I would highly recommend you allow some extra time pre or post dinner to walk along the Embarcadero. The lights of the city are truly amazing! Then step into a lively restaurant which has traditional steak house wines, drinks and menu. The dishes are all done very well, and don’t disappoint. They try and get creative w an apple salad, which is a fun twist. The atmosphere both inside and out make this a special evening.

Great all around as our waitress was excellent, as was the seafood platter/tower. The steaks were done to perfection and the Cool Cucumber martini was excellent. We loved the Chocolate Espresso layered cake!

My family wanted to experience a special meal while in San Francisco and was recommended by our hotel concierge to this restaurant. The location and environment was nice with an upscale feel. Unfortunately the steaks was only mediocre given the price. The bartender Jenn G. who worked at our table did not write down our orders and my steak was under cooked. Upon her admission of this mistake, the steak was sent back but returned burnt. Neither the manager nor Jenn G. followed up to ensure everything was made right. Poor customer service at $500 bill for 4 people. Later in the week, my family had fabulous steaks with superb service at John's Grill at 1/2 the price.

We made reservations at Epic steak based on the reviews and views! It didn't let us down! We checked in and asked for a table with a view which was honored. We were given a table outside directly overlooking the beautiful bride all lit up!! We were so happy to start the night off. Start with the drinks, I didn't like anything on the menu so our waitress asked what I normally drink. I told her pomegranate martinis, which they didn't have but she said she would make something she thought I would love. She delivered... a raspberry martini which was delicious! She really went over and above to make sure our evening was perfect. She made great steak reccomendations, I ended up chosing the filet and my husband got the rib eye. Both were cooked just as we ordered! I got the cheesy potatoes au gratin.... do yourself a favor and try them!!!! OMG! Overall, the ambiance, location, food service and drinks could not have been better! We loved it and will return if ever in San Fran again!!

We went here with a few employees and spouses on Saturday night. We arrived about 30 mins early and they ended up seating us within 15 mins, so that was a good start. We were seated in the upstairs dining room off to the right and we were seated right in the corner and had a view of the bridge, which was nice. Our server was Jesse and he was good, got our apps and drinks ordered right away. The drinks were ok but The Marinated Burrata was tasty but needed more crackers. The favorite was the Garlic Shrimp - very tasty and nice size shrimp and the brioche was delicious!! We ordered our entrees and it took about 30 mins to get our food but once the food came 2 steaks were missing and that took about another 20 mins to get them. Jesse apologized and did what he could to make things right, which we appreciated. Granted it did get busy at one point and from what we observed in our dining area was that our area was under staffed. So for the food 2 steaks were undercooked and because of the time to get our missing steaks they decided not to send the food back because they were afraid it would take too long to get the steak back. They asked for medium well and they were medium rare. The seasoning varied throughout the table, some too salty and some not enough. However the Cote De Boefu was on point. My husband and I split it since it was 27 ounces and did the ALL in for an extra $20 (total was $95). Be warned the sides are small portions and cannot feed 4 people, so be prepared to order more than one if you have a big group (we had 8 in ours). The add on of the crab we feel was not worth the extra $22 - it was so salty and the crab was minced. This was our 4th time here and our first company outing since the pandemic, so we were looking forward to dinner, however we don’t feel the quality of the food and the time waiting for our entrees were equal to the cost and sadly we will not be back any time soon.

Jesse at the patio bar was the ultimate bar man! Expert mixologist. What a lovely view of the city. Only problem, which I reported to the reception, was a filthy woman’s bathroom. I didn’t go back to check if they had done anything.

Phenomenal ambience - special but unpretentious, super-friendly staff, and the most delectable Brussels Sprouts I've ever had :D

This was our first time here and it did not disappoint. We had a great dinner with an incredible view of the Bay Bridge. Our waitress Deirdre was fantastic and made our evening even better. The steak Prime Dry Aged Ribeye was cooked to our liking and the Julia Child’s potatoes were off the chart! Oh and we topped our steak with crab great added effect! We split the steak and a wedge salad which was of course great.

Great view of the bay and the bridge from here. Started out with some delicious seafood apps and finished with one of the best ribeye's I have ever had. I was so full I could barely walk when I left it was that good.

Classic tourist steakhouse -- lovely location on the water, but the food was pretty run-of-the-mill and very overpriced (not surprising given the view and tourist clientele), and the service was sooo slooow... I think our server was handling half the restaurant.

Epic was wonderful. The staff is very knowledgeable, attentive and simple top notch. The view of the Oakland bridge is wonderful. The restaurant itself is very upscale and comfortable. They even have wraps if you want to sit in the 3 season room with the fireplace to eat. I loved it! The food was cooked to perfection and we really enjoyed it. It was perfect for our business dinner and is very impressionable. I highly recommend.

Epic Steakhouse in San Francisco absolutely lives up to its name! My friend Steve, my puppy Romeo, and I visited today, and it was truly a memorable experience. We shared a fantastic BLT that was crafted to perfection. Steve enjoyed a crisp Pilsner, while I savored a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, an amazing special at only $49 – such a great deal for such an elegant touch! Our waiter, Adam, was a rockstar. Not only did he offer spot-on recommendations, but he managed to stay attentive and warm, even while juggling a full section of tables. His service was flawless, and he truly made us feel like VIPs. From the food to the ambiance to the outstanding service, Epic Steakhouse is a must-visit spot that delivers in every way. Five stars all the way!

We wanted somewhere we could eat outside, near the water, and have a good steak. Epic met the brief and we were not disappointed. The location is fabulous (we were lucky with the weather too). The service was good. It was busy but we didn't feel rushed. We had the steak frites deal which was excellent - perfectly cooked - and desserts which also went down well. An unusual and very welcome touch was the flight of dessert wines - not come across that option before and really enjoyed it - to be able to try Chateau d'Yquem without spending a fortune was fabulous. No, it wasn't a cheap experience but we did feel that we got value for money, when taking into account the location, the food and the wine. We would go again.

We got there around sunset, the view was terrific, you could see the Bay bridge through big windows, it was a bit chilly, so we did not sit outside on the deck. The steak was wonderful! It cooked to the way we ordered, the meat was tender. With open kitchen, I was glad we did not sat too close to the grill.

I live in San Fran & entertain my clients & local friends here regularly for lunch on the patio any day of the week. Nothing is finer than dining under their awnings with the view that is unsurpassed and not a Fisherman's Wharf tourist place. We locals tend to be kind of "foodie folks" and EPIC rocks for me! Today I took a friend to celebrate a birthday with Crab Louie's ala EPIC - WOW WOW WOW crab-OH-ganza! And you need to know the wait staff rock with attention to details and kindness.Hey it's the old adage: you get what you pay for and what you get at EPIC is far beyond what you pay for. I have dined inside for dinner but I much prefer brunch/lunch on the patio.

This restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and a lovely view of the Bay, the Bay bridge and the Eastern side of the Bay. The outdoor tables are more attractive, and comfortable even with cold weather because the restaurant provides heaters and blankets. Service is attentive and prompt. The restaurant focuses on steaks, but there is a generous selection of fish and seafood. There is an excellent selection of salads and appetizers. The focal point is the Wagyu Beef selection. The wine list, while not extensive, offers a good selection of California wines. Prices are commensurate with the location, meaning high.

Great location and view but mediocre and overpriced food. We were seated, and then waited 20 minutes for our waiter to appear to take our drink order (they seemed to be covering wayy too many tables). And then another 20 minutes before the drinks appeared. The starters were basically just dropped on the table with a grunt from the busboy. The food was fine but nothing remarkable, and the general vibe from the waitstaff was overworked and dgaf. Definitely a one and done visit.

During this Pandemic we were looking forward to checking out Epic and the patio seating. Although confusing to find the entrance from the Embarcadero side of the restaurant we were seated and accommodated quickly. We were a party of 6, all locals in the SF and Oakland are with our Company only a few blocks away from Epic. I don't eat meat, but there were still non meat options. And the wine selection was awesome, specifically the black owned wineries in the area. Brown Wines stood out. Our server Ahmet was incredible. The restaurant was busy but Ahmet was attentive, genuine and gave us an overall perfect experience. We look forward to supporting a local restaurant dealing with the pandemic and all the staff working so hard to provide such great service during these tough times. I would also like to acknowledge EPIC'S dedication to supporting equality and justice for the BLM movement and the opportunity to make us all aware. Thank you again, Ahmet and EPIC Steakhouse. David

Beautiful waterfront location with a great view of the bay & the food does not disappoint either! Not the cheapest place in the world but I’d say it’s worth it for a special occasion if you are a steak lover. They also serve wonderful (if a little rude looking) deserts…

Great steak and view of the Bay Bridge. Malbec wine delicious. Bar staff friendly. Calamari pretty average, but overall definitely worth a visit if you can afford it.

At first glance it has nice outside seating And very friendly staff. They get an A for quick friendly service. The disappointment was in the the food arrival The charcuterie plate was very lacking in meats 3 pieces of salami 3 pieces of small bacon Next was the wings they arrived slightly burnt and over cooked. They steak tartar arrived it didn’t have a lot of taste. I will try again in the future. I was very disappointed in food for the cost.

Of course the steak cuts like butter and has fabulous flavor. Each side is enough for four. The wine list is one of the most comprehensive, and a chat with Som Petra is delightful. Our service was excellent, thanks to our server Lowell and the rest of the wait staff. The location by the water with a view of the Bay Bridge completes the experience. Whether inside by the vast windows or on the perfect patio, you won’t be disappointed.

The best asset of Epic is the view, the resturant is right under the Bay Bridge that alone makes it a good visit on a clear night. The service was excellent and they have a deep and expensive wine list. Food was top of the line steak house fare with pricing to match.

Happy Hour perfection! Bring your scarf and a warm jacket so you can enjoy the outside deck. I have stopped off to enjoy Epic for its Happy Hour, sunsets and full view of the Bay Bridge. When you enter Epic you will want to go upstairs to experience one of my favorite lounge feeling bars along the embarcadero. You can either order a quick drink at the bar before moving outside or notify the bartender to send out the waiter with menus. They offer a nice wine list, my favorite being their sparking rose’ and some of the best French fries with dreamy dipping sauce I have ever tasted. I am also a big fan of their Caesar Salad and lip smackin’ crab dip. Delicious! I have to admit I have never had dinner at Epic, because my timing always lends itself to Happy Hour. I love that this bar fills up with the travel adventurous and locals alike. I know Epic may seem pretentious on the outside, but give it a chance. It’s got this opening and welcome vibe one you step in. It also has an ‘Epic’ view of the bridge and a very tasty Happy Hour menu with great prices. I highly recommend carving out an hour or two before dinner to enjoy the surprising SF Happy Hour Epic offers.

Great steakhouse on the waterfront with a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge. Friendly staff with great recommendations and unique choices. Steak was well-prepared, bread soft, dessert light and ambience what you would expect in balmy San Francisco while Los Angeles sizzled. Definitely recommend.

We had such a great evening at Epic Steakhouse. When I made the reservation, I requested outside seating because the view is amazing. When we arrived, they let us know that the patio was closed, but they saved us a seat with a view because of our request. Service was fantastic! Food was incredible! It was a great dining experience!

Nice view of the Bay bridge. Service was good. Food extremely underwhelming. It’s a shame when you are a Steakhouse and your most flavorful dish is the mixed vegetables. I had a medium rare ribeye which was tough and tasteless. Not sure if it is the quality or how it was cooked. My wife’s prime rib the same. The spatzel was their version of a Mac and Cheese. The vegetables awesome! This seems to be a repeating theme in their reviews. Wine list was reasonably priced. Overall this was a SO-SO experience.

Epic certainly lived up to its name! All of the food was amazingly delicious - and the view of the bridge really set the atmosphere. The service was also too notch. I’d highly recommend!

Called day of for a Sunday lunch reservation and a friendly, personable manager took my reservation and made me look forward to my lunch even more. Later, she came to find us and make sure we were happy. This is the perfect place for waterside drinking and dining. Interesting drink and food menus with delicious flavors, lovely plate presentations and satisfying portions.

The location is beautiful. The meal started out really well with wonderful warm bread and butter. The salad is above average. The steak was good, but for the price they charge it needed to be excellent and it was not. It was quite good, but did not live up to its promise or price.

The food was amazing. I appreciated the option of paying extra to have a soup or salad, then add a side and the dessert. It was a nice restaurant to spend our 25th!

I brought my team from work to EPIC for the first time since Covid for a team get-together. The atmosphere was great - a view of the Bay Bridge next to an outdoor fireplace. The food was outstanding as were the drinks.

On the basis of the food this would be a 5 but it is pretty expensive so I accounted for this Steaks beautifully cooked and goes well with one of the various seafood based starters Wine list is extensive and some very pricey bottles

For $60 should a steak be tough? I could not finish my steak because my jaw was so tired chewing. The oysters were delicious and fresh, but the size of quarters at $3 each. The spatzel was also good but sat in a pool of oil. The caesar salad ($14) was skimpy. For a steakhouse, the wine list was limited, unlike the Waterbar next door.

Came on Sunday for brunch. My husband and I each had the crab benedict tartan. The portion was generous. The crab meat was fishy. The side salad had zero flavor. Very expensive food. Had a Bloody Mary and mimosa which were skimpy servings and expensive. I will not be coming back to Epic. Our waiter was excellent.

I had a business lunch earlier this week at Epic. We sat outdoors next to the San Francisco Bay. The weather was perfect and along with the great food it made for a pretty awesome lunch. Our party of 4 started off with an oyster on the half shell and chilled prawn platter. We split Caesar salads next which were very good as well. 3 of our party of 4 ordered NY Steaks, the other ordered the Beyond (Vegan) Burger. We all had fries as well and passed on the desert menu. The food was very tasty and cooked as we ordered it. The servicer did not rush us. That was fine as we enjoyed the outdoor dining and surroundings. Prices here are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. The food and service were excellent. I will go back.

My San Fran self loves fab food ( hey we have just 4400 restaurants in our 49 square miles) and we locals don't do tourist spots. SO join my native San Fran self at my fave spot where I do all my biz luncheon entertaining. Lunch/Brunch is a different menu than dinner and I much prefer gazing at the awesome Bay Bridge on our waterfront, under tents that shade me from rain or sun. Here's pic of my fave bacon burger in all off our City by the Bay BUT I also adore their Crab Louie. The view is unsurpassed and you will not be at fisherman wharf at all. Have fun and indulge for lunch/brunch or dinner too.Best Steaks in the city my San Fran self says!

Food was generally good but not overly interesting or inspiring. It's a nice room. Has a nice view but really only relevant for lunch. The service was a little grating with constant upselling. Feels like a bit of a tourist trap - I wouldn't eat here again.

This place struck me as a yuppie/touristy version of the Cheesecake Factory that serves steaks. The decor is filled with oversized valves and what appear to be water pipes - I guess as an homage to the nearby Fireboat House? The food was just o.k., the service was friendly, but slow, and the seating was uncomfortably tight. Although we had advised that we were celebrating an anniversary, we were unfortunately seated (or more accurately "sandwiched") at a table in between two other tables. The server's rear end literally brushed against our table on both sides whenever he/she served the tables adjacent to us. (It appeared couple next to us was also celebrating an anniversary.) A** in face throughout dinner is no way to celebrate a special occasion! Many tables do have really nice views of the bay and the upstairs bar is someplace I might return to. Having tried Epic, I probably won't be back for dinner.

With the lights shining on the beautiful Bay Bridge, Epic provides the right mix of outstanding dry aged steaks, great salads, delicious sides and sauces, and tasty drinks. The $75 meal of a 9 oz filet mignonette, wedge salad, one side and dessert is a steakhouse bargain. My medium filet was perfectly prepared. The wedge salad was unique with a slice of prosciutto on top. Get the Julia Child’s potatoes, masterful. But go for the light show and food. A few chits: the dessert (bakes Alaska) was so so. Our friend’s rib eye came out too rare and needed a bit more cooking, which it got. Many wines are reasonably priced except for the Cabernet Sauvignons. Otherwise, an excellent meal.

If you enjoy steak, then I suggest you try this restaurant. We dined here as a family of 4 adults on New Year’s Eve. There was a 5-course set menu. It was a little pricey, but the venue, ambience, location, service and food made up for the cost. The food was well cooked and presented. It was very appetising and there were a good selection of wines and spirits. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. The General Manager Brian Walsh was very welcoming, hospitable and helpful and this radiated across the serving staff. The table was laid out nicely too with bells, party hats, whistles etc. We had the best view of the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. At the end of the night, each guest was presented with a bottle of champagne and homemade cookies. This was an unexpected nice touch. If you are in San Francisco for New Year’s Eve, I recommend you try this restaurant.

Very good meals especially steak however we have been charged twice for 22% tips without our knowledge. We were very happy when left but few hours later noticed the additional charge from our card. It’s quite disappointed experience from the staff who has been working in this quality of the restaurant. Unfortunately we wouldn’t come there as felt cheated.

this s a stop for us each time we are in San Fran! great steaks and seafood-and the service is excellent! we will be back again and again!

The wife and I visited SFO and friends 2 weeks ago. She and I both ordered the ribeye to be cooked the same, medium rare. Not only were they Laurel and Hardy in their comparative sizes, but Laurel was cooked to rare and the Hardy was medium. Server interrupted spottily going into salads/apps and then disappeared after entree delivery. Houseflies and fruit flies both? Truly disappointed except for the Bay Bridge light show - that we could have seen pier-side.

Brunch was memorable sitting outside...the view of the bridge is breathtaking. Food was very, very fresh and beautifully presented.

So I reserved this because of the reviews, so was the food good ? No it was not good but it was actually excellent, the steak was well done , tasty , had me licking my fingers and the potatoes, wife had the fish which was shockingly awesome, the wine was top quality, the service was superb, the views were unforgettable, so do I have any regrets going ? Well not but the big question is would I go back again, well probably not but that just because it was the most expensive meal I ever had , my bill was just shy of $500 including tips and it was just four of us , so if I can afford it I'll definitely go back but if I can't then I would not, my I pray that I can afford it again one day.

We sat on the patio with a superb view of the Bay Bridge, sunset was glorious. My salmon was absolute perfection. Perfect flavors, presentation. My hubby’s fish was excellent. The Brussels sprouts are insane!!!! Would HIGHLY recommend.
Amazing!
We went for dinner for my husbands 40th Bday. We had a great table outside , with an awesome view of the Bay Bridge. They have heaters, so even once the sun went down we were very comfortable. Service was superb, our server very knowledgeable, and a great sommelier. The food was fantastic! We shared a 6 OZ filet and 4 OZ Waygu. Very different flavors, both cooked perfectly. As others have said, The Julia potatoes are to die for. Don't miss this hotspot, especially for a special occasion
