Excellent customer service, super good food and portions. The atmosphere is so friendly and the desserts are very good also.

Everything about this place is below average. Service? Aweful. Food, below average. Higene? Looks and feels dirty! Sorry

I love the food, love the place, love the service and love itzik! I go there quite often and you never go wrong with the special of the day. A must if you like Israeli food .

If you are looking for the Nouvelle Israeli culinary experience that is featured in all the new coffee table books, this is not the place. However, this is the place you can taste, smell and experience the authentic Israeli flavors every Israeli yearns for to be reminded of home. Great Yemenite Jachnun and Malawach, herbed omelettes, good humus and tahini, sabiech, fresh juices and any item you can find in a working class neighborhood in Israel. Best to go on Saturday morning and experience the Jachnun with brown eggs and Tchulent. Kudos Itzik...

This is a great place. Awesome "hole in the wall" I come here at least once a week. The food is awesome, like at home!! Anything you order is great, try the lemonana, lemonade with mint...great prices, Excellent service, awesome food... !!

Wonderful well-prepared shakshuka and they ask how spicy you want it and how firm your want the eggs! Served sizzling in a large pan -wish I lived closer would be there often.

Great home style middle easter food always has traffic and locals love it. You will find a ton of home cooked meals that are not easily found and reasonable prices.

Except for any of the 100s falafels i ate at Israel, Itziks got the closest one to the best i ate when in Israel. His hummus, tahini, falafel are out of this world. The napoleon is the best dessert in the place, sometime we even buy the whole one to bring home. Top in aventura. Could improve on the pita bread just saying.

Wonderful home made Middle Eastern food. An Israeli community joint in Miami. Nothing fancy. Prices a bit high for this type of restaurant, but overall great food and warm service.

Stopped in for breakfast based on a recommendation from a family member. So glad we did. The place is small and you can tell it's been at this location a long time. Our server was wonderful and made great recommendations. Had the Shakshuka and added feta, it was so good and the Green Omelette was also very good. I loved that it was served with multiple side salads and fresh pita (it was really great). We felt were in a cafe in Israel! If you are adventurous and like to try something new, this place is it.

This hole in the wall is usually crowded with locals and for good reason. Authentic Israeli grub that is tasty and filling is always a good idea. Service is straight up and no nonsense. What did you expect. Every day is a different special. I had the cholent which was very good indeed. Had to sleep for a few hours to diges

Wow! Love this place starting with limonana, salads, grilled chicken, rice and beans, Their napoleaon desset and coffee are better! Worth visiting!

Three of us ate lunch at Etzel Itzik. We found it while searching the internet for places to eat south of Fort Lauderdale. We were very happy with the choice. It is a very small place so we had to sit outside, which was OK with us. When space opened up in side they came out and asked us if we wanted to move, but we stayed outside. They brought us a few small plates of very nice starters when we sat down. Our order was taken quickly and the food came pretty quickly. We tried a variety of things including the humus, Israeli salad, and the Moroccan sausage pita. They had some nice smoothie like drinks that were also quite good and healthy. All the food was very good. The service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. We would all happily go back.

several times having eaten always different meals I brought different people and all and every one liked the food, the ambience and the service. what much more to say, than: price is reasonable

I used to live in Miami and frequented this restaurant quite often as it offers a variety of DELICIOUS choices for just about anyone and everyone...including vegetarian options as well as spicy choices such as Matbucha and Moroccan fish. ..I so miss having the fresh mint lemonade as well as the Babaganush and Israeli salad...My all time favorite has always been the large toasted sesame roll filled with eggs and tomatoes. YUMMERS! I won't even go into the melt in your mouth Napoleon dessert; that alone should come with a warning..hahaha Thank you Itzik for years of delish food! Blessings and light from Jacksonville..xo

Great food and lots of choice, everithing was fresh and variety of delicious food. Very reasonably price.

We love every thing about this restaurant from the great food and generous portions to the service, atmosphere and history it holds with our family. We try to go here every time we are in the Miami area, which is a couple of times a year. Most recently I ordered the shawarma entrée, and my partner ordered his go-to falafel - would highly recommend both, as well as the classic lime/mint drink (truly divine). The pita was amazing. They were great with our five year old, who declined the booster seat kindly offered. She highly recommends the rice. We will be back!

The food was great and the atmosphere is very authentic! Feels like back home in Israel. And the portions are so big all diners are leaving with "to go" bags 😀

The food is excelent and the service is excelent as well, the labne, hummus and shackshuka are one of the best i`ve ever tried, borekas and sju are incredible as well. You must visit this place if you want to feel like you are in bat yam or something like it

Not a fancy looking place, but is authentic Israeli food, great prices, great quality.....don't go on a date, just go wait to be seated and enjoy.....not everyones cup of tea but if you are not picky about a messy (not dirty!!) looking place full of young customers give it a try.

Excellent fresh food, friendly service at a very reasonable price. What more do you want?! I discovered it from this site and I will definitely keep coming back. As someone that grow up with this food you can take my word for it.

Worst treat in the world from HADAL an employee that wasn’t in the mood and started yelling at me so crazy just because I was asking for help with an order to go. Go get a different work if you don’t like your life!!!!! Learn manners and being polite before finding a job and spoiling others business!!! A real mess don’t ever come here!!!!

Definitely authentic if you're craving Israeli food. Great selection of Mediterranean dishes. Particularly enjoyed their felafel and the boreka. Service is great.

Can't believe I waited so long to discover this truly excellent Israeli style deli! Tremendous variety, delicious appetizers and world class hummus, baba ghanoush and chicken schnitzel, among many other great things. The place is always packed, and for good reason. The regulars eat here nearly every day, including breakfasts. Supper friendly and accommodating servers. WOW. I really love this place, and the prices are a bargain. Be sure to try the mint lemonade.

The best Israeli food The service is ok The price is ok $$$ Hace Parking Very Good menú No acept reservation

My mom and I were Iooking for a place to eat and I was tired of driving around. We saw this tiny deli with no real signs on this strip mall and decided to eat there. Looks are deceiving because the place is bigger inside and as lunch hour approached it was packed. I had the lamb in the oven the daily special. It came with a side. I chose mash potatoes. The lamb was so flavorful and fell off the bone with onions and garlic . The mashed potatoes were yummy. Rich and creamy. I saw several people drinking carafes of fruit juices. I didn't get one but I hear the mint lemonade is amazing. The people next to us and several other tables got the shawarma which also looked great. The portions are large. Will be back if in the area

This place was amazing! very authentic and homey I would definitely come here again. We had the schnitzel with Israeli salad/fries and labneh

We got takeout dishes for a Friday night dinner. Food was low on taste and over cooked and dry. Sorry to write this as our hosts actually liked it suggesting there is room for taste. If you was kosher food this can be an option. Not on my list.

Amazing food! Good service and the falafel is out of this world. Also the pita and hummus was great. Best Israeli food ever.

I was born in Israel but raised here so I love that this place is kosher style but not completely kosher and open on saturdays- also serves both dairy & meat. I only eat the same dish every time- its the bagel toast- its is just delicious- all the toppings (minus the feta) are the best- ask for it well done and you'll be addicted. I can't speak on behalf of the other food. As far as this place being cramped, it is, but it makes you feel like you're at a little shop in Tel Aviv, Israel- it's kind of the point. yes waiters have a little attitude- but they're israeli's lol- must be an israeli to appreciate this spot- but the food- it's just good for anyone :)

From the moment you walk in you feel like in Israel, even though it is a small place the plate selection is huge, every one by the way excellent, superb quality and big portions. The service is very good, the prices are fair. Great for breakfasts, brunch, lunch and dinner. I recommend the cholent, the shakshuka, all the steaks, the kebabs, the awesome hummus and the shawarma

Here's your laid back, always fresh, plentiful, cordial and delicious restaurant in an old strip mall. Start off with a variety of mini salads (included, served as soon as you are seated) and make sure you order the "lemonana", a frosty mint leaves lemonade that will revive you. Everything in the menu is good. It does get very busy, regulars are very loyal, so get there early or be a bit patient. Turn-over is fast. Servers are friendly and accommodating. They know their stuff. Personal favorites? Beef kebab and schnitzel. Hummus and labneh: awesome!

Four of us took off to Miami from Del Ray beach. My two friends from Israel are here for 3 weeks and I decided to take them to this place for Israeli food. What a disappointment. The place inside and out is a sh-- whole. Dirty place with a million pictures cluttering the walls. The lady that served us had zero class and barked at us with an attitude of OK what do you want. we later saw her standing out side with a cigarette getting a fix. Typical chach chach that you would find in Shchona Hatikva. I left her a tip but I honestly dont know why.My Israeli friends were so disappointed with the place that they wanted to leave but they stayed and had a chumus plate. My daughter and I had the shnitzel that was awful and covered in greasy oil. I had a side order of potatoes with them and they as well as the french fries were disgusting. To sum it up dont be suckers like we were. Dont go near this place its a dive and oh yes I still can't figure out how the bill came to $ 60 for 2 chumus plates and two shnitzels. I would suggest avoid like the plague

I was just at this restaurant for a late lunch for the second time. Great food. Lots of choice. Other reviewers give you an idea of the atmosphere - fun and funky with many languages and great variety of delicious home cooked food from the hummus to the main courses which on last visit was daily special of couscous with vegetables and a choice of beef or chicken. Easily shared between two as portions are big.

The place is just horrible but the food is superb Best israeli food in town Crowded and noisy but I love eating there Ask for pita plate size, otherwise the servings are huge

This is an authentic Israeli Restaurant. It's a small and old place like the old Israeli Restaurants in the 80th or in Hatikva Market in Tel Aviv. The place is simple but has a very good atmosphere. The food is simple, tasty and come in big quantities. The service is good but the waitresses where looked miserable. The salads are too simple. The Steak and the shnitzel were excellent. I do recommend the Steak very much. The Humus was very good but the falafel was whirred. It was tasty but not like the falafel in Israel. In general it's a good place to come when you are hungry and when you want an authentic Israeli food. I found it as an excellent choice specially if you want to eat well at a reasonable price. What I didn't like is that they serve Halavi and Besari at the same time. I know it's only Kosher Style, but It doesn't look good because many of their customers are Kosher light.

Israeli food just in the hearth of North Miami, nice food , crowded, rough Israeli owner.... just like being in Jerusalem. Good food however.

Great many little dishes with variety of salads and pickles welcome you to the most friendly and casual Israeli restaurant in Miami. Everything is great quality and tasteful! Humus, Shakshuka, Kebab, everything is great!!!

One of those places you wish you knew about when you are in a strange city, because you know for sure, food is fresh and good! Whatever you order: either a chicken soup like mama used to make or a schnitzel, everything is tasty. To start you are treated with tiny plates of different salads. To drink don't miss the "limonana", a blend of lemon and mint served in individual jars. Etze Itzic is a local institution, simple but reliable.

The food is mediocre but the service is horrendous. Waitresses and owner are extremely rude and greedily deceptive. And if you want basic condiments like tahini and amba it’s extra $10.

Growing up there was a commercial which in part said "you can't eat atmosphere". This place isn't charming but the food is very authentic and tasty. When you arrive somebody comes to the table with a selection of tiny plates of little salads in the Moroccan tradition. The menu is big so there is really something for everyone. Platters which come with two side dishes are around $19, and there are also sandwiches in delicious fluffy pitas. We went with Kefta Kebabs and they were really good. Served with The type of pita you can only find in a Kosher supermarket or Israeli restaurant. Etzel Itzik is not very close to where I live. Otherwise I would go back soon either for eat in or take out which appears to be a popular option. Recommend to anyone who likes this style of food. Very, very tasty.

My friends and I spent a wonderful time, Isaac (owner) is there looking how people join the dishes. All the food is Fantastic, the best Hummus that I ever eat, falafel full of Israeli flavor, Pita zahatar the best, Hummus Shakshuka (yummy), the classic limonana. It’s impossible stop eating in this place!! I highly recommending and you will be happy!!

I found this gem on a whim and have been back several times since. Whenever I go, it makes me think of being in a cafe in Tel Aviv. When you first sit down, you are served a variety of salads. The hummus and falafel are a nice appetizer and the pargiot, shakshuka, fish and schnitzel are all great. The lemonana is amazing, fresh lemon, mind and crushed ice - if only there was rum to turn it into a Mojito :)

When you tire of Cubano food (difficult but it can happen) or you are looking for something different, check out Etzel Itzik's. It says deli but don't expect corned beef and matzah brei. This is real Israeli fare from falafel to grilled whole branzino and chicken hearts if you are up for them. They bring out an array of small salad sides including beets, pickled vegs, cokes slaw, corn salad and pita. The main dishes looked great but it was a hot day so we went for the appetizers. Plates of labneh with zatar and olive oil, matbucha (spicy tomato/pepper spread) and a grilled eggplant/hummus dish were our choice. My hit was the limonana (a green icy lemonade with ground up mint). This place was rockin' and English and Spanish definitely took a backseat to to Hebrew. Remember that they close a little early on Fri and Sat (4:30 pm). Don't expect perfect service but it was fun.

First time for breakfast and it is super good! Coffee here is super good but first time having breakfast. Labne and pita super good and the shakshuka delicious! Americano coffee was delicious and orange juice fresh!😀

Close your eyes and you are in Israel! We were a family group from 3 generations and were more than satisfied. We drank the best limon-nana and had a wonderful array of starter salads. Then our order arrived - schnitzels, grilled chicken, hoummus, French fries and Israel salad. Perfect! The staff, under the watchful eye of Itzik the owner were attentive and obliging. My grandchildren aged 6 and 3 couldn't have been happier. Loved it!

A tavern yes but where you can find all the Middle Eastern dishes The prices are extremely fair Family atmosphere and very friendly welcome

If you value delicious food, just do not sit around read reviews. Get here asap. Everything was homemade, fresh and 10/10. Very reasonably priced for Miami.

If you can tolerate a crowded, noisy, small table, tight seating restaurant, you'll get great Israeli food at a fair price. The walls are covered with photographs, supplied by patrons and spread as a collage functioning as wall paper... The photos continue under the glass table tops... The servers are quick and expect you to be too. If you don't like a busy environment, don't go. They have more customers than they have room for. It's cause the food is really good.

went for breakfast, the bill for three was 95 dollars for 3, this was expensive for what we got. the shakshuka was loaded with bell peppers not that good, the humus with fava beans was good, pita too stay away from the bagels the waitress pushed limonada with mint that was all mint and no lemon that was terrible

I went to this place because a lot of people raved about it...to be fair I'm vegetarian so often times I have limited choices.. Hummus was really good, lentil soup just ok. The place is small, staff were nice.

This small Israeli deli is quite good home style Israeli Kosher cooking. Then only kosher style restaurant that opens on Saturday is really quite good. Don't be impressed by the looks of the deli when you arrive, have a sear order Israeli food like falafel, humus and many other mid-eastern dishes and while you wait enjoy the various salads as is tradition. We were very well impressed not only by the taste which is good home cooking but also by the very good service we got. A perfect place for q quick lunch

Yes its noisy and crowded but in the true Israeli fashion so we and our group of 10 had a great time. We had all the traditional dishes of salads , schnitzel s , hummus , tahini and pita served very quickly by our fast speaking waitress. They were fresh and delicious and our host said to try the Lemonana drink , lemon , ice , mint in a tall green glass. Super. Will return , prices seemed reasonable but we were treated so even better!

Unique, quirky, busy, friendly and casual all describe this place. Kosher style but not kosher. I’ve been there twice and it’s excellent both times. Chicken soup, hummus and tahini, grilled chicken pita, all were very good. Kind of a diner vibe too.

I recommend this plaace to eat. We ate Hummus, falafel, chicken and meat. All the food was excellent and not expensive.

Great fast food. Humus was great, mint lemonade a must! It's not a fancy place but it has great food. Highly Recomwnded if you feel like having dinner for breakfast they can accommodate. It's great. They aim to please. If your in the mood for Israeli food this place is a must.

This is a small out of the way place but if you appreciate what comes from the Israeli kitchen this is a fine place to come and enjoy. With Israeli soccer on TV it feels very homey. I plan on going back.

Great food, but not for the faint of heart. It is nearly always packed. On our first visit, the hustle and bustle was a little intimidating, but by our second we were family. They start you with 6 to 8 small appetizers - pickled beets, corn, cabbage salad, coleslaw, chickpeas, etc. The entrees are quite varied, tasty and reasonably priced - schnitzel, roast or grilled chicken, chicken livers served with grilled onions or hummus, meat balls, and a half dozen other items. Breakfasts are typical Israeli and really great. Service is exceptional and the owner is always on hand. Patrons are largely Israelis, South Americans and locals in the know - most are regulars some of whom eat here every day. The hummus and falafel are terrific. This is now one of our favorite places for very casual dining.

Amazing and authentic Jewish deli ... Wonderful! The setting is excellent, and the food outstanding!

if you want a healthy mouthwatering meal, this us the right place: no pretentions but real food from and for real people aerved in a fruendly vivid ambiance

Stopped in to pick up a carry out lunch while in the neighborhood for another errand. I got 2 falafels. It's a friendly place with lots to offer. The falafels came with the expected hummus, tahini, and salad and fried and a side salad. Excellent, fresh falafel, well worth it. I look forward to going back to try more food.

It doesn't get more authentic than this. Once you sit down they bring out little dishes of traditional foods. Small bites. If you are expecting Americanized Israeli food, then this isn't for you. It's hard core authentic! lol

Went here last week - the menu is very extensive. Everything is freshly made - the piece d'Resistance is the Yemenite Soup - wish I could take gallons of it home with me. Prices are very reasonable for kosher food, but the taste of everything will keep you wanting to return again and again.

Not a fancy place and even a bit dirty, thus very authentic popular Israeli food. If you like Israeli food and you are not planning to visit Israel, this is the right place to go. This is not a tourist restaurant , this place serves as a meeting place for many Israelis in Aventura area.

All dishes here are delicious! My favorites are the little dish salad served as soon as you seat. For dessert: my favorite is the napoleon.
Better Options Out There!
This place is cramped, looks and feels dirty, outdated.... Food, all the starters don't look so good and they are actually not good... The tabuleh salad, simply avoid... The lamb also greasy and no meat... Little flavor! The merguez, they needed to be better cooked and these had some, just some flavor. Service is ok... This place is not to be considered! Sorry
