Refreshing gem in Fremont

By maxdanger |

Located in the heart of Seattle's artsy Fremont district, I had a fantastic lunch of corn and clam chowder and a unbelievable fresh vegetable salad topped with a beautiful piece (generous) of seared sashimi grade tuna loin. Eve is small, but welcoming, with a light and airy feel that can accommodate couples or groups. Great for a business or friend lunch and would be excellent for dinner. The menu is loaded with tasty and healthy menu options made with great fresh vegetables. In addition, EVE has a strong wine list, with lots of variety in bottles or by the glass. The service was perfect Enjoy.

exceeded expectations

By Bruce M |

4 of us had dinner there last night and we were all impressed with the experience. everything we ate was excellent. the brocolini, heirloom salad, the shrimp with creamed corn and the crab with spicy noodles were wonderfully fresh tasting and the combination of flavors were spot on. the service was excellent. this is a gem.

Do not miss the Not Noodles

By KayRynerson |

Eve's menu changes frequently according to what is local, seasonal and organic. This time I was delighted with the raw Not Noodles, a pasta-like salad with noodles made from squash and yams and crunchy peanuts. The perfect cold dish for a hot day. I got steak on the side and it was tender, perfectly marinated and simply perfect.

Great Menu Choices

By Tony M |

I had the raw tuna signature dish and it was amazing. I wish I could remember its name but it starts with an A. The service was on spot.

Loved our lunch at Eve's

By EGMarro |

Friends recommended Eve's to us for dinner but we decided to go for lunch instead and loved it. The money menu was creative and fresh. I ordered "Not Noodles" with egg and avocado along with bone broth. Ever bite and every sip was delicious. My husband had the lamb . He was able to order the sandwich without bread -- no big deal. The staff as well is busy and cheerful and very quiet k the take care of us without making us feel rushed. Love ved our house experience and wish we could go back for dinner. Great place for groups made up of f meat eaters and vegetarians.

Amazing food and cocktails

By Foodie4Life1982 |

We popped in for a drink and a quick bite to eat around 6 on a Saturday. We were surprised that the place was fairly empty, but it didn't take long to fill up. Cocktails were tasty and average priced (around $12 a piece) and the food was so good! Get the cauliflower! You won't be disappointed! I wish I knew how to make that sauce!!

excellent ambience and food

By Mauri S |

This restaurant is in our neighborhood but we've only just visited for the first time. The golden beet broth soup with chopped apples and onions was superb, as were our main dishes (poke tuna and a chicken sandwich: not the officials names). It's a bit pricey for our usual lunchtime fare, but we thought it was worth it to experience truly subtle tastes in interesting blends. I found out they have Kombucha in the bar, too, which is great for those of us who do not drink alcohol. The tables and the windows booth are great seating and the waitress, Jessica, was friendly and attentive. Did I mention the portions are large? The location is on busy 34th street across from the famous "Waiting for the Interurban" statue, which makes for good people-watching.

A good find in Fremont

By davidfromwashington |

Tasty food, nice location and atmosphere but very loud on the Saturday night we went. Had the Brussels sprouts and the mushroom grits. The sprouts were kind of a small portion but had interesting flavors, I ordered it because smoked tofu sounded intriguing, the smoke flavor was very light but good however the tofu wasn't the freshest I've had. Not bad, but not the freshest. I don't know how long it takes to smoke tofu, maybe that has something to do with it. The mushroom grits were rich and delicious, exactly the sort of dish you want waiting for you at the end of a walk through a Seattle November evening. Recommended restaurant for the tasty food, definitely, but maybe not for a quiet intimate evening.

Perfect Ambiance Excellent Food

Quality of food is exceptional - interesting and tasty. Love the vibe and decor - a great reason to visit Fremont. Perfect for a cozy and leisurely lunch.

A four course delight

By Tyler J |

We got four courses here including soup, salad, veggies, and an entree. Every single one of them was fantastic. It was some of the best soup I’ve had in a while, the eggplant was perfectly crispy, and the squash salad and grain bowl were fresh and healthy. Highly recommend

food versus service

By Elham E |

I am a firm believer that service is just as important as good food. I have been living in seattle in the same neighborhood for that past 22 years and I can tell you firmly that I have not yet experienced this level of rudeness in any place. Realize where you are located, embrace the fact that you are there because of older residents of seattle and behave accordingly. You are not in NYC, and if you were you would be eaten alive by your customers. Cheers and trust me you will not last that long with your skills as far as server go.

Accommodating to Allergies and Seriously Good Food

By Debji |

I am visiting Seattle and wanted somewhere that could accommodate my allergies and had a local uniqueness. Eve was recommended and it did not disappoint. My group shared the mixed olives and pickled vegetables, which were very good. I had the burger (w/out cheese) as a lettuce wrap with added bacon and avocado. It was very good with pickled apple on top giving it a nice balance of flavor. However, the lettuce wasn’t very wrapped; it was so huge I had to eat it with a knife and fork anyway! My friends had the pork chop and the grain bowl and both were impressed. For desert my friends had the apple crisp (which smelled amazing) and the panna cotta. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find anything to eat for desert because I’m allergic to sugar and dairy but when I told the waiter he went to the kitchen and came back with agave sweetened coconut milk ice cream topped with berries (totally off menu). The service was great from the moment we walked in to the surprise desert. Apparently, their menu changes frequently but that’s just a reason to come back another time.

Gem of a place

By Kim B |

This little place was quite a surprise! Small, but hopping by 8pm on Wednesday. The food was amazing and quite an eclectic menu. All fresh, farm to table. I had the bison burger which was amazing and a salad, My husband had the pork chop which was excellent as well. Our friend had the spicy crab noodle and liked it. The service was good and unhurried even when the place filled up.

Great avocado toast

By seatravelerSeattle |

I went in to the restaurant alone, had my choice of seating. Service was prompt, courteous. I ordered the avocado toast. It was really tasty. They had an excellent selection of items on the toast. I recommend.

A great discovery!

By BJ K |

The staff are friendly, personable and accommodating. They remember my name and even the owners stop by the tables to talk. It attracts the local crowd. My husband and I visit Seattle often, and I regard Eve Fremont as my kitchen away from home. I always try to eat healthily. Their food is organic, farm to table and fresh. The entire menu is creative food combinations that are delicious. I'm particularly fond of their bone broth, the best I've encountered. I always order a glass to try out their daily offering. Different bones, different veggies and unique spices. My husband loves their fish. The ambience is lively, a little bit loud and upscale.

Great food!

By Lorri H |

We stopped for lunch while in the Fremont area. Great service, interesting menu and very tasty food.

Casual, quality neighborhood gem

By Michael V |

Eve is a bright open room with a smallish kitchen behind the bar and a casual but on-target vibe. Service is quick and informed. The menu offers a variety of fairly simple but cleverly composed options emphasizing fresh local ingredients. The wine list is not extensive but provides good variety at reasonable prices. You can dine and drink well at Eve without breaking the bank. The bison burger is arguably the best burger in the universe. A great place for an informal dinner with friends or a romantic tete-a-tete. Enjoy.

Delicious Food Lovely Setting

By jackiebr63 |

We made reservations for this restaurant and although we arrived early were able to be seated. We ordered the olives and grilled shishito peppers and the olives were wonderful and I couldn't believe the incredible taste of the peppers. They were amazing! And that was just the beginning of wonderful food. My son and his girlfriend ordered the buffalo burgers with home cooked potato chips. I had the vegan bowl FILLED with ancient grains and vegetables including golden beets. I thought this was a delightful spot. The wait staff very attentive and the space lovely. Every table filled before we left and this was a Monday night.

Delicious food but expensive

By CAM |

My family of five dined here mid-week to celebrate a special occasion. The location of the restaurant was what prompted us to visit Fremont. It offered an insight into suburban Seattle life. The ambience of the restaurant was good and the service was excellent. The food was delicious (three of us had vegan hot bowls), one diner had crab noodles and another had a burger. The cauliflower and squid started were very good indeed, as was the wine and IPA lager. All in all excellent food which is on the pricy side.

Another great meal

By jpr21 |

I've been here several times, and it never disappoints. Tonight I want to rave about a fish special I gleefully ate. If you like fish, you live in disappointment-how many fish have sacrificed their lives just to be ruined by cooks? But the fish I ate was a revelation-it came out of the kitchen hot, had a crispy skin, and the meat was wonderfully moist-not a hint of being overcooked (as is roughly 90% of fish, even at fine places). I have the privilege of being able to eat at a lot of great places, all over. This was one of the best fish dishes I've had in a number of years. And to boot, all the other things we had were equally delicious (try the eggplant!). Bravo.

Tasty brunch

By MOG808 |

Great service, food, and coffee. What's not to like? Our group ordered the bison burger, eve scramble, and the lentil bowl. We usually share bites, but this time we hoarded because we Wilkes what we ordered so much. Our server was friendly and was very efficient with coffee and water refills when we needed them.

Odd music, delicious food

By LSBPHD |

I first went to Eve a year ago at the invitation of a wise old friend of mine, who had taken a liking to the place, only a block from where we both worked. I keep coming back because the food is both interesting and satisfying; it's hard to find both. In this case, there's creative cuisine in large enough quantities that I often have to take some home. The background music is not to the taste of this mid-sixties diner, but the staff are happy to respond to my requests to turn it down low so that it's easier to hear conversations. My vegetarian friends are happy there, too. If you're visiting Seattle, hop on the #40 or #62 bus to Fremont, and it's just around the corner.

TRENDY

By nhings |

not my cup of tea....$6 for "bone broth" [soup bone]; kale kale & more versions of kale. 20 min wait for 6 of the tiniest of oysters I have ever seen. Saturday @ 5:30 [reservations]. Wait staff C+. Expensive learning experience.

interesting ideas, not executed well

By Barbara K |

friend took us here, and she loves it. It's a very small menu. She had the breakfast scramble, full of interesting veggies. Husband had the Eve Benedict, which he liked, in spite of the soggy muffin and not crisp bacon. He thought it was an interesting take on the dish. My dish was not successful. The Potato and Foraged Mushroom Hash was not a hash unless you call it deconstructed. There were a lot of potatoes, very few mushrooms and other items listed in the description. I added sausage, which was quite good. One poached egg, overcooked, seemed skimpy on this large dish. The whole mess was served in a bowl, and very oily. Since the toast was quite good, I ate that and took half of the "hash" home. The next day I drained it, and ate it with 2 poached eggs. The dining room is interesting, if noisy, and service was excellent.

Wow! We enjoyed our brunch!

By Travel_Guy_2015 |

We enjoyed our brunch! This is a “cool” restaurant with its high ceilings located on a busy street. The food was delicious with the Bloody Mary’s . We will be back

Fabulous menu and food in a cool neighborhood

By elliottq |

Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal at Eve. The wait staff is friendly and fun, the atmosphere/deco is trendy and pleasant (but even with rugs, there is not enough sound absorption and things get loud, near 80 dBA, when the place fills up), and the wines and food hit the spot. I enjoy much texture and variety in my food for added flavor and mouth feel. Eve delivers. The Eve Greens are a variety of greens, shaved beets and carrots, sunflower seeds, freekeh, and a fine tahini goddess dressing. My entree was the Eve Hot Bowl, with ancient grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, dandelion greens and vegetables, plus an egg, and avocado and tofu. All was fabulous but the tofu cubes were soft and spongy, a bit disappointing (but it was only a topping and did not detract from the dish). This is highly recommended, but if you are looking for a quiet place this is not it, if they have a rather full crowd.

Large Portions of Excellent Food

By Rumples |

We ambled into this fairly new restaurant in the Fremont neighborhood at 6:30 p.m. on a weekday without a reservation and were seated immediately. Only a few customers sat at the bar and tables at that time, but the cozy room was 95 percent full by the time we left. The menu focuses on a farm-to-table experience, offering meat, fish and lots of veggies. Everything we ordered came perfectly prepared with an emphasis on fresh and flavorful. The portions proved to be too big for our appetites, however, and I would have appreciated a warning at the ordering stage from our server. Luckily, instead of selecting two starters, we ordered one to share, Not Noodles ($9). This consisted of yellow and zucchini squash, cut with a Mandoline slicer to resemble noodles and cooked to give them a pasta texture but served cold. These were mixed with hazelnuts, cherry-ginger, mint and shaved carrots. I loved how this mixture complimented the squash and could easily have gobbled up the entire portion as my main course. It is a perfect summertime dish. Now, more than half-full, I regarded the huge bison burger ($16) that next arrived with dismay. Local Cheddar cheese, shaved kale, sweet-onion jam and pickled apple made the burger look even bigger. I had to tackle this with a knife and fork. It proved to be absolutely delicious (eye-rolling good), especially with its light coating of black garlic aloli and the fresh, tasty roll. Veggie chips on the side, which I think were made in-house, were also outstanding. Still, I had to quit half-way through, because I simply could not take another bite. My husband, who had been eating his Eve hot bowl ($16) with gusto, decided to sample the burger and ended up finishing everything that had been left on my plate. We took half the hot bowl home with us to enjoy the next day. This bowl consists of grains, nuts, seed, dandelion greens, seasonal vegetables and sesame vinaigrette. Our server was prompt, attentive and happily answered our questions. The setting was lovely with banquettes made from old church pews and mohair backings. There was good spacing between tables at the street side of the restaurant, where we sat. We looked out at the neighborhood's iconic "Waiting for the Interurban" statue, which was decorated for someone's birthday, and the Fremont drawbridge. Though Asian rugs on the floors helped to absorb noise, I thought the background music still needed to be set at a lower level.

Fremont Fires the Imagination

By AndrewT |

EVE is a local restaurant in feel, attitude and ambience. Yet it’s menu and preparation are decidedly universal in appeal. After all, it is located in the heart of the Fremont district, self-procliamed center of the univerese. From the deeply satisfying Bison Burger to the adventurous Spicy Crab Noodles, EVE presents the unique and the beguiling with authenticity and home cooked emotion. The special on the night we went was a seared halibut poached in a delicate and refined curry broth. Sublime and memorable. The room is cozy and awake, the service made us feel like house guests. EVE is find.

Great menu diversity - vegetarian and meat dishes

By papinn |

Finally! A menu that offers diversity in veggie and meats, nice ambiance, good service, and good food! I have visited four times for dinner since they opened - only one service mishap in four visits, and it was ameliorated by a comped, heavenly, chocolate orange dessert - YUM! Fremont has needed a restaurant like this for a long time. Well done!

Excellent food and cocktails

By Laura_Kayaks |

I love going to Eve! I’ve been there for brunch numerous times and hands down it is one of THE BEST places to eat and drink in Fremont! Their options are not only delectable but they also have so much to choose from. They have vegan options that delight even an omnivores palate, like mine! If you haven’t been, go...NOW!

Bad service

By Dendv |

When we arrived at the restaurant the hostess acted as if she may not have a place to seat us when the majority of the restaurant was empty. Her behavior was a bit baffling and pretentious. Our server approached our table and didn’t say anything and didn’t greet us. He didn’t act like he knew what I was talking about when I asked if a particular dish was gluten free and didn’t offer to check or be at all helpful. He didn’t check on us after giving us our food. Aside from the weird and inattentive service the food was bland and over priced. Would not go here again and would not recommend.

A local gem!

By RockridgeC |

Had a nice lunch in the neighborhood at Eve. Started w/ mushroom bone broth which our server admitted was made w/ a combination of both beef and pork bones, finished w/ lemon grass. Soothing, warm and delicious. I have to attempt making this! I followed w/ a kale salad and I never order kale salad, except my daughter, by the description, assured me that it would be kale finely chopped into small ribbons and not voluminous full leaves that tend to make one gag. True to form it was perfectly made and was excellent. Wish I had a neighborhood place like this in CT... PS. The staff was efficient, courteous and smiled a lot. I get the impression that Eve is a nice place to work!

Go Eve!

By mbg |

We went here for our first dinner in Seattle, and were very happy with the choice. It is boisterous, nicely furnished, excellent service. DW had “the best bison burger ever” (her words) and I had the spicy crab. Both were really good. We’d recommend Eve F to friends without hesitation, and should we return to Seattle, go back for more.

Traditional Brunch Dishes with a Twist

By ellegray |

Our brunch outing was to meet up with friends to celebrate a family birthday. After settling the five of us plus a wee one into our seating, we looked over the menu and made our selections ranging from "hot bowls" to a hipster tostada and bison burgers. All dishes met our expectations and more! The bison burger was prepared to perfection. I will mention that the venue is a little loud due to its open concept seating, however we had a nice time just the same.

Good Food

By Rumples |

We made a 5:45 pm. reservation at Eve for an early dinner. The gracious hostess seated us immediately at a back table beneath a speaker blasting loud music. Only one other table was occupied in the room. My husband and I could not communicate and I could not understand our waitress until she raised her voice considerably. I finally asked another staff member if the volume could be turned down and she responded affirmatively. The reduced volume, however, remained too high for us and our waitress led us to another table at the front of the room. Here, we could talk at a normal level and begin to enjoy the evening. We each ordered a bison burger ($18), recalling how good this was three years ago when we ate here. It comes topped with local cheddar cheese, sweet onion jam, pickled apple, shaved kale and black garlic aioli. I chose veggie chips to go with mine and my husband opted for a salad. Monster burgers, which often required a knife and fork, quickly appeared. The meat and its toppings proved to be a heavenly combination. Absolutely delicious. But the bottom of my bun had the texture of cardboard. I am unsure whether it had become stale or if something else had occurred, but I simply pushed it aside, because I had way more than enough to eat. My husband’s entire bun was fine. Both the salad and chips were quite tasty. We considered the service to be excellent. When we left after an hour here, about five other tables were occupied. It took us around 10 minutes to walk to our car, which we had parked for free on nearby Fremont Avenue.

Great food and service, but a little pricey. Very unique, you should try it!

By Steve C |

Food was great and everyone enjoyed their meal. We had the: house pickles (meh) and pan-roasted cauliflower (just OK) for an appetizer; the Market Fish (monkfish that day) and 3 Hot Bowls with various toppings (all excellent); and the Guava Sorbet and Coconut Gelato for dessert (both excellent). Service was very good. No problem with Vegan and Vegetarian options. It is a small intimate setting that holds about 30 people in the dining area, another 20 at the bar. Noise level is on the low side (Tuesday night - others say it's loud on weekends). The food is high-priced, but the quality is very good. Good date night spot.

Delicious and felt good

By GGGAmie |

I'm a small-er eater so I loved the moderate portions. And the flavors!! I kept losing my thoughts in the squid, the grains, the delicious cocktail! Service was top notch and I would happily go again!

Lovely surprise

By Maggi B |

My husband and I visited this new Fremont restaurant about a week ago. We called at the last minute for a reservation for two. They were friendly and accommodating. First I will start with the décor . It is classy, artsy and warm. The mural of a female figure is beautiful. The staff were professional and sweet. Now the food......all I can say is the tastes and smells were like a spa visit for the senses. It was simply amazing. We started with Bone soup. The soup had an aroma and taste that was earthy and healing. My entrée was Eves Hot Bowl. This was a delicious mixture of grains, roasted vegetables' seeds and nuts with an egg on top. This was superb on every level. For a sweet treat at the end I finished with the coconut milk parfait. Light, refreshing and satisfying .I will leave you with this. When looking at all of the new restaurants' that pop up in Seattle this one actually stands out as the king of new spots. I cannot wait to go back!

Healthy Stuff

By Hayley B |

Came here after a workshop because my boss’ name is coincidentally Eve. Thought the food was very healthy and the surroundings and staff were nice.

A wonderful meal

By Mayatravels |

This local, unassuming place surprised me with it's quality and top notch service. The menu is creative and intriguing, the food is fresh and delicious and the servers are friendly, helpful and attentive in a nice way. We were 5 people and we shared the kale salad, the arugula salad, the roasted cauliflower, hot beets, Eve's hot bowl, and the spicy crab noodle. Everything was wonderful and we even saved some room for one dark chocolate hot pot. It was a really good meal.

A lovely tiny restaurant

By Nann Z |

We were there for lunch, and everything was so special we can't wait to go back for dinner. This restaurant specializes in organic food, and you can't beat fresh organic food. I had a vegetarian hotbowl with added chicken. My husband had soup and chicken salad. The hotbowl seems to have had dozens of veggies, so that every mouthful was different. Unbelievable! My husband had soup and chicken salad with a phenomenal dressing. He had the same experience with the salad - every bite was different. The soup was also excellent. The portions were so large we brought half of each home. I will have mine for dinner, and he is having his for lunch. (He's on his own for dinner.) I don't know what the friends we were with had, but they loved it too.

Great lunch in Fremont

By MargieMary19 |

My husband and I decided to visit Fremont on a beautiful Thursday while we were in Seattle for a few days. After strolling around the area, we stopped in at Eve for lunch. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Based on her recommendation, I chose the Eve hot bowl with the addition of an optional poached egg. My husband chose the bison burger. The portions were generous and we shared them. The bison burger was a very nice sandwich and the accompanying vegetable chips were fresh and tasty. But the hot bowl was the star of our meal. The base layer of grains were perfectly cooked and very tasty. There was a very nice selection of vegetables included (roasted Brussels sprouts, carrots, green beans, turnips, etc.) The egg was perfectly poached. You can add other toppings, such as chicken, for an even heartier meal. There is a full bar with a decent selection of wines by the glass, and a couple of beers on tap.

Fantastic restaurant, will return!

By LoveCreatureComfort |

I went to this restaurant for the first time with a friend who is a sensory food scientist--she highly recommended the restaurant. I ordered the seafood chowder and it was excellent--full of seafood, hearty broth, and did not overdo the tomato. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and welcoming. Highly recommend making reservations and leave ample time to find a parking space.

Lovely

By Kikibaby |

great ambiance for date night or special occasion dinner, but casual enough for anytime. Great drinks and delicious food!

Nice Cozy Little Joint

By Robin A |

Nice cozy little spot. They make good use of the space and it feels very inviting. We sat at the bar and we could watch them cook from were we sat. Our bartender was great and very accommodating. Made my friend a nice drink. I opted for a little bubbly. The bone broth is delicious (don't be put off by the name) and very nourishing and was perfect for the cold rainy night that we were there. Different every day. The shaved kale salad was very good. I had the ribs - was expecting a different kind of rib (these were flanken-style - thin cut) but they were perfectly cooked. My friend got the butterfish (black cod) and she loved it. I also had the pan-roasted cauliflower with fried chickpeas, which was a substantial portion (could have split it with my friend) and very good. The only down side to coming here is finding parking.

Fabulous food, Fabulous service, Fabulous ambience. This spot suits me.

By NWroamer11 |

My husband and I took two freinds who hae upcoming birthdays for dinner. We ordered 4 or 5 vegetables (9-11$ each) to share as first courses. Outstanding is the Shaved Kale Salad, the roasted fingerling Potatoes, the nutty roasted Cauliflower, the Green goddess dip and lightly grilled veggies. The artichokes weren't as successful, IMHO. Our 3 mains were short ribs ($21), Chicken with barley & poached egg ($18) and Pork Chop ($22). We loved them all. We had a 40$ bottle of wine, plus split one carrot cake dessert($8), which I'd skip next time. T. w. tip was $200 for 4.

A pretty place to dine

By LESBourgeoises |

A divine environment, fun staff and a happening environment make Eve a pleasure to visit. Would love to see more veg-friendly items on the menu, but the roasted cauliflower and potato sides were very delicious and well-sauced.

Comfort Bowl

By SeattleArch |

Want something comforting, warm AND healthy on those dreary rainy Seattle days? Eve's hot bowls are amazing. My favorite is the Chicken Fried Barley: chicken, ghee, green bean, carrot, crispy skin, mushroom soy, and an oozy poached egg. Can't get enough in my mouth. Point reduction for $$ for lunch and slow service... I feel there should be a little more emphasis to getting the lunch crowd out in under an hour. Overall great atmosphere, nice staff, solid menu with a refreshing healthy/organic focus.

Lovely Surprise

By Teri F |

Not sure how I missed this restaurant for 2 years! Just a lovely laid back space and a nice size space. We went for lunch and shared 4 different plates because we felt spoiled for choice. Great combinations and eclectic choices will keep us going back. over and over. There is parking down the street in both directions. Their heirloom tomato salad with Burata was a favorite!

Contemporary English meals

By subh27 |

I have visited this place more than once. This place offers contemporary English brunch, dinner. The kale salad is awesome. The restaurant is not a quite place to hang out as it is right by the main street.
