First visit, probably the last. Food was so-so. Veal marsala was a hunk of meat. To my thinking, veal marsala is flat. Plus it was under done. Service was OK but a bit fussy. Waiter pulled an empty plate from one of our guests while the rest of us were still eating. Plus for the ambience, price and decor you wouldn’t think people would come in wearing shorts but they did!

We were looking for a special restaurant to celebrate 2 birthdays. Everything we ordered was wonderful. A truly special meal. We sampled the lasagna, the eggplant, lobster ravioli and lobster fra diablo. Recommend them all. The Caesar salad was enough for 4. The wine recommendation and overall service was excellent

What a great place........atmosphere, choice of background music, service, good solid cocktails, and of course the FOOD! Ya'll just can't go wrong with Fachini. The Fried Angel Hair Cacciatore (with the quail) was a great and light meal but with plenty of flavor. The Snapper New Orleans was a bit butter rich but prepared just flakey right. Definitely one of the top spots in Dallas along with Lavendou, Cafe Pacific and a handful of others.

The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The hostess, from another of our favorite restaurants, Al Biernat's, was pleasant and inviting to our family. Geoff was a gracious and attentive waiter with old world charm. The table-side Ceasar Salad was perfectly prepared by Geoff. The pasta was perfect. My seafood was fresh and inviting. The deserts, we ordered all of them, were fabulous. I highly recomend this restaurant.

We were looking forward to a rare night out and remembered the dining experience here on a previous visit, although it has been a while. How disappointed we were on this visit! Upscale casual? Well, sloppy jeans and tennis shoes are now perfectly acceptable . Our server, Layla, was lovely, but the dining experience was terrible. The cocktails were enjoyable, the food was not. We ordered the lobster ravioli appetizer and while the flavors were quite nice, it appeared to have been warmed up as a pre-prepared dish as the sauce was matte. The Cesar salad, a 2nd course, was brought WITH the appetizer and was most definitely a pre-refrigerated version of what could have been a nice salad. We sent it back. We chose the red snapper and the veal chop Marsala…the snapper was prepared well but was SWIMMING in butter. The veal chop at first bite was so salty, it was inedible. The restaurant did make our bill right, but the celebratory evening was hindered by the terrible food! We would gladly pay for a nice dining experience, with food worthy of the price, but this was not. Too many other good or great choices in our beautiful city! Sorry Fachini, you have much to improve!

Worth the hype. Went here for a birthday dinner and it was worth every penny! Table side service, great recommendations and amazing food! Portions can be split, and I’d recommend a reservation.

Went there this last week hoping to still catch their restaurant week menu, ended staying anyway and turned out to be a very good experience. Had their cesar salad prepared table side a very nice touch which reminded my of how it was customarily prepared in Mexico. We had their chicken parmigiana which was delicious. The service was excellent

While staying at a nearby hotel, my husband & I did not. want to go out to dinner because of the worries about the Covid virus, so we called Facini for take out. The person who took my order could not have been more pleasant. She told me it would be 15 to 20 minutes, & she was not wrong. I pulled up in front of the restaurant, phoned to say I was there for pick up, & almost immediately a waiter brought out my food. We had scampi, a veal ravioli, & Caesar salad. It was all very good. The only thing that would have made it better would have been to dine at the restaurant, so the hot foods would have been really hot. Since we had take-out, I cannot say how the service or atmosphere might be, but for what we had, I have not complaints.

The ambience was great on the rooftop patio. We enjoyed most the tortellini and chocolate dessert with hazelnuts

I liked the design , ambiance ,service and playlists came expecting Classic Italian....2 out of 6 is only good in baseball. We liked chopped salad an veal Marsala vey good . Lasagna , veal parm , carpaccio and pork chop not so good and all had huge price . I like the vibe but food not so much

We had a great experience at Fachini. The beet salad is incredible! Zoe was very accommodating and our food was delicious.

A schlemiel is the guy who spills soup at a fancy party. A schlamazel is the guy he spills it on. We went for a birthday dinner. They gave us a table where the servers kept bumping into me. Eventually it had to happen. Our young server who barely looked 18 ended up emptying some sauce from an expensive red snapper special on one of the female members of our party. I wish I had made a scene. I wish I had not tipped but it was a good occasion and We did not want to have a bad time.Waiter apologized superficially and lured some extra wine in the glass for the poor guest who was very uncomfortable through rest of the dinner. They pride themselves as fine dining place. May be they are but fine people they are not. I have never dealt with such inconsiderate people in a while. All the waiters are Tuxedo clad and servers are formally dressed but they don't have a clue as to how to conduct themselves. Stuffy people should act stuffy and live up to the "formal" status of the place. Never again. No apology from manager or senior staff. You would think that they would have been trained to inform the manager when something like this happens.

OUTSTANDING. From a picky large Italian family and this place killed it. Service, food, wind and atmosphere. Definitely as good as NYC Italian restaurants. Honestly it’s a great vibe and I could not get enough of it.

Well....... online reviews are not accurate. Positives - the service was really good and the cocktails were very good. Negatives - very noisy and the food just ain't that great. The pictures online look much better than the food tastes. Started with the baked oysters - just really not as tasty as these should be - very bland. The beet Gorgonzola salad was good but not great. Chicken scarperiello was way too salty as was the linguine with clams. This is not a place for a foodie. Good place to go to see and be seen but not so much if you want a wonderful culinary experience.

Our family of 5 has an excellent meal and experience at this classy Italian restaurant. Very good service and excellent food and atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Tonight we chose a restaurant that truly surprised us! We were expecting a good Italian restaurant….possibly run of the mill…but decent. Well, not at Fachini! This was authentic Italian fare just like we’ve had in Italy! From the scrumptious meatballs to the ‘100 Layer’ Lasagna, we were delectably pleased at every turn. First of all, they bring out toasted bread with ricotta and a bowl of marinated cauliflower and carrots. I only got one bite because my husband ate it all quickly….but they brought more! The wait staff was very attentive. CT was our server and he was professional yet very personable and fun to talk to. We were NOT planning on ordering dessert but boy, were we glad we ordered the crème brûlée! Mouth watering. You cannot go wrong at this modern yet somehow classical restaurant. I’d also like to mention Jennifer, the lady taking reservations. We had some difficulty with traffic and she was VERY gracious and understanding of our plight. In fact we called on our way to cancel due to running late and she offered a table at the bar until we could get a seat in the main dining room. We ended up getting there in time but she ‘saved the day’ for us.

We took out of town guests here and it was the PERFECT experience! The staff is amazing - the service is seamless...they are there just when you need them but are so subtle that it's like they aren't there at all. The food is without a doubt the best Italian I've had in a long time. The atmosphere is romantic yet would also be the right for a classy business dinner. The exposed brick and ambient lighting just adds to the whole experience. Can't wait to go back!

Tried Barsotti’s latest spot at Highland Park Village...had heard mixed reviews, but you couldn’t tell that from the massive crowd. Four of us dined family style to try as many dishes as we could. The 100 layer lasagna is a perfect first course for four (or even 6). The Cesar salad prepared at tableside was good, not great... the quarters are tight which makes the effort more trouble than necessary. The scampi, tenderloin and snapper were all terrific. Will definitely return.

We went to Fachini for my birthday this week and had a memorable experience. The room is very festive with a retro-chic look of old brick and tile floors. I thought it would be really noisy, but it was not, perhaps because the tables are well-spaced. They bring a small antipasti including bread and ricotta. We started with the lobster ravioli which was light and good. I had the veal chop which was perfectly cooked medium rare. My wife had the 100 layer lasagna which quite an experience. Very good! There is an extensive and pricey wine list with many Italian selections. Service was perfectly professional.

Had a reservation for 8:00pm. The hostess Sid “it will just be a minute as we are setting the table.” At 8:40pm we were still standing in a hallway waiting for our table. Hostess was rude. When we said we were leaving, she said “That’s OK.” I said, “It is NOT OK that you can manage your restaurant.” Don’t waste your time.

Great Italian Restaurant in Highland Park Village!! We sat at the bar because we did t have reservations ! Unfortunately reservations are hard to come by in this small restaurant! We don’t make reservations months in advance so We loved sitting at the bar!! The bartender makes great cocktails and is very attentive! They bring you some anti-pasta which was wonderful ! I had a delicious Caesar salad ! My husband and I split the very generous portion of lasagna and it was delicious !! Great meal😊

My wife and I checked out Fachini in Highland Park Village. I had been eyeing the 100 layer lasagna since hearing about it in the Dallas Morning News Guide. I was not disappointed. Large, tasty slice of lasagna cooked perfectly. I was concerned it might be too heavy with pasta but not the case. Highly recommend to lasagna lovers... My wife had a very tasty red snapper special. She really enjoyed hers as well... Prices are a bit steep but the ambiance, presentation and service are excellent... Good wine list... Great place for a special evening... Outside seating available... Book ahead as Friday and Saturday are busy.

This was the best Lobster Ravioli that I have ever had. Amazing. My colleague had the pork chop and raved about it too! Highly recommend this sweet spot.

I’ve been here several times but this time was a bust. We got there very early and we were the inky people there. The music was so loud we couldn’t talk, but they finally turned if down. The salads were plain and nothing special for the price. The lasagna was good and huge portion. The veal parmigiana was over cooked and nothing special. They had two large groups that came in and they acted as though they had a private room. So very loud and intrusive. If you’re going to have large parties, put them on one side of room. Overall it was way too expensive for the dining experience. Very disappointed.

Friday night, 9:30pm. Packed. See and be seen. Complimentary antipasto: Excellent Remainder of menu: Good Wine list: extensive AND expensive (a few more less than $100 would be nice) Bar is adorable. Love the b & w photography throughout space. Server was efficient but a bit too rushed/verging on impatient when at our table. A little more southern hospitality would have been nice...even southern Italy. Price for meal was high, which is fine if food is over-the-top amazing. Food was good, but not life-changing. Many dishes could have easily been shared. Would have been helpful for server to point that out. Would definitely return to the bar, but not for a meal.

We were a group of 12 for dinner on Saturday night. Because of the group size we had a fixed menu. EVERYTHING was fantastic from the bread to the desserts. Highly recommend.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend in Dallas, and it was all as excellent as he said it would be. The food was excellent, as was the service. We decided to have dinner here last minute on a Saturday evening, and checked Open Table, and found nothing available, However, we called and spoke to the hostess, who was very pleasant and actually was able to squeeze us in for the time we requested. She went out of her way to find us a table, when she could have simply said they were fully booked. However, be prepared for a very expensive dinner. It is definitely on the high end of prices, but probably for this area is not out of line. We enjopyed the meal, but a bit too pricey for us to return.

Reservations at 8:00 pm, but at 8:30 still had not been seated. Numerous excuses were provided, none factual. At 8:30 the hostess nonchalantly stated that no table was ready and it looked like none would be ready soon. We said we planned to leave and her response was ‘ok’. Restaurant is poorly managed with a rude hostess.

My wife & I went last night for restaurant week. It was a price fixed menu with multiple choices on appetizers and entrees. More than any restaurant experienced in the past. My wife had the pei mussels in a sausage & tomato broth for her starter and I had the fig, prosciutto, mellon & greens with balsamic vinegar. For entrees my wife had the 50 layer lasagna with meat sauce & Sunday gravy( a signature dish). I had the pork Chop with whipped , mashed potatoes.Jack our waiter was, knowledgable and friendly. His pacing was well done and for desert my wife had the carrot cake , while I had the Tiramisu. Food was delicious and well prepared. There is a wood burning oven to prepare the meat, which gives nice depth to food. Ambiance was nice. Only down side, which is minor is the music. 60's style Motown does not seem to go with waiters in formal attire.

The restaurant is super cute with great atmosphere. The wine menu has several fantastic bottles. The food menu is limited. The dishes are small except for the 100 Layered Lasagna. The prices are pretty high compared to what we received. The service was fairly poor and frustrating. If you go, make reservations.

Very poor service. Waiter took twenty minutes to bring a bottle of wine. Dinner was served before wine was poured so started dinner without the wine. Had a veal chop and waiter did not present a proper knife so needed to use the butter knife. The veal was perhaps the worst I have ever had. Good thing I had a pretty lady across the table from me to soften the frustration with the service and the food. All the other times I have been to this restaurant have been great so hoping this was an off night for providing proper fine dining service and food.

We had drinks at the bar and the bartender made a perfect Black Manhatten. We were seated on time and the waiter arrived promptly. We ordered Lobster Ravioli to split and they were kind enough to divide it and bring two plates. Also served to our table was the awesome Sole Piccata and Lobster Diavlo. The Tirimasu for dessert was light and flavorful but too large a piece to finish, so we had another taste the next night. Lovely restaurant, although a little loud.

Upon entering the wrong restaurant as was the case of this restaurant in a former life, we felt at home. The previous venue was Japanese & now is Italian but the common denominator seems to be that the customer has to pay for the rent on this locale. Waiters in tuxedos I presume help justify the prices. I have always stated that a great meal consists of the locale, the service & finally the food. 2 out of 3 is not bad but not great. The food was ordinary nothing special or unique but at prices reserved for great meals at great locations. In fact out of the 4 of us, no one finished their meal. Furthermore when most of the wines were approaching $100 & some in the $200- 400 range it made me price conscious for the first time in a long time. Service was great with friendly staff. Some may say if you can’t afford it, then don’t go but I actually research a place & the menu before going. With no prices published on their web site, my expectations were realized. Nice but too expensive for what you get.

I have been a fan of Chef Julian Barsotti for a while and since Barsotti's became a Michelin recommended restaurant, I had been looking forward to going to Fachini, one of his other restaurants. The location in Highland Park Village is fabulous, the style and decoration of the restaurant is just plain gorgeous, and so inviting. However, I only wish that whoever took our order that evening was in par with such surroundings and expectations. When asked if gluten free pastas were available for substitution, the answer was "no!". This is Fachini's choice not to offer GF pastas and I respect it, but how about suggesting other options, going one step further in the spirit of great hospitality. Incidentally, even iconic restaurants like Rao's will offer gluten free pastas if asked. I chose the Wagyu Tenderloin a la Pepe instead. Here again, I was not told that the $69 dish would not come with a side and that I may want to add one. Sure enough, the Tenderloin came swimming in an undefinable white sauce with two small roasted onions on the side. I will say that the quality of the meat was great but nothing else. So maybe the restaurant captain/Maitre d was having a bad day, but it should not be at the detriment of the customer, or the restaurant's reputation. And if this is a recurring complains among clients, maybe Mr. Barsotti will need to consider training his team to his standards.

He knows Italian food. Once again owner Julian Barsotti has elevated simple, traditional Italian cuisine to a higher standard. The complimentary appetizer items are typical of an Italian household and the quality was unquestionable. All our dishes were crafted with the utmost of care and were picture perfect. The Waygu beef carpaccio was silky smooth and well worth the fare. One pasta was cooked a little more al dente than in my kitchen but was still acceptable. The Penne Barsotti (special) was a very traditional rustic pasta made with bits of sausage, rabe tops, pearl onion bits in a light creamy cognac sauce. Pasta portions run very large so if dining alone order a 1/2 portion so you will have room for an entree. Regular size portions are large enough for two to share. The Cento Pepper Pork Chop was over the top .... extra thick, bone in, sou vied then finished on the grill, sliced and with a light sauce underneath. The white bean side dish paired perfectly. Carrot cake and tiramisu desserts were good. Service was professional and well executed. Cocktails were right on. The only negatives were minor: 1. this restaurant does not put salt and pepper on the table ... I guess it is a "chef's prerogative" but I don't like to hold up my dinner waiting to get a server's attention. 2. spoons should have been provided for patrons to spoon the juices from the beans and the pork onto their plates 3. menu item descriptions were non-existent. Although our waiter expertly answered all our questions about ingredients and food preparation, I still like to see the main ingredients listed. This is a restaurant that should be on any Italian food lovers bucket list. Bring a friend or two or three to explore the menu ....
Wonderful food, service, and ambiance!
It has been on our list of places to try and we finally did for our anniversary. We were very impressed with the food and the quality of the service. I could tell from the attentiveness of the young hostess that the front of house was definitely well managed. With our first bite, we realized the kitchen was equally on point. We started with lobster ravioli and calamari, both of which were excellent. Two in our party actually ordered the ravioli again for their entrees because it was so good. I had the rigatoni which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We ended the evening with a carrot cake that rivaled my favorite carrot cake recipe. The red wine list was strictly Italian of which I am not terribly familiar so I let my server guide me to the correct glass after trying a few different options. It is a great location with a very cozy feel. The wood-burning oven overlooks the main dining room. They also have a small bar area with a few tables should you want to grab a quick bite or just a drink. We will definitely be back very soon.
