An ideal place for foodie lovers with a range of small outlets offering a good range of products. The toasted sandwiches from the outlet next to the cheese shop were delicious.

I tried Italic at the Fareground. This was a mistake. The food prices are HIGH. The food is just below AVERAGE. The service needs improvement. Not good overall in my opinion.

This has a little bit of everything. Sushi, burgers, tacos and....salads. The bar is centrally located and has a good section of beer and wine. It’s not a mixologist hot spot but they do a decent cocktail. We met a bunch of other families there as there are kids playing outside on the turf hill. It’s clean and organized so for the parents it’s a great spot to have a glass of wine and let the kids cut loose. We didn’t see live music there but we are told there are live bands that come and perform. Five stars for great food and drink. Location. Parking is easy and cheap at the convention center parking. Most of all it’s clean and safe for the family to hang out.

Fantastic place to enjoy a dinner . Loved all the choices. Street food atmosphere. Many great tasting options. Full bar to bring your dinner to enjoy. Lots of space . Great for a large party. Prices are very reasonable.

Food court concept. Multiple vendors with a variety of food choices. We had 5 in our group and we all went in different directions. Everyone was pleased with their choices and we all want to return. Tables inside and outside for eating.

This place has some options, barbecue, roast chicken, sandwiches, ramen. But in the end nothing so good as to be commented. At 5:30 pm No-Kome has run out of the ramen we asked. The whole place gave me 1) a fancy failed copycat of Eataly 2)a Fancy place made to charge you more and make you think you are eating fancy food. The place is beautiful and deserve better food.

I ordered the Breakfast Bowl which is severely OVERPRICED. They gave me additional items that I did not want like corn and Kale. It was not on the ingredient list. The KALE was BURNT. The eggs were RUNNY. The BURNT smell was overwhelming. I had to separate the food just to eat it, but definitely not a good meal. I refused to throw away this OVERPRICED food. They were one of the few serving breakfast, but no desire to go back.

I had the Israeli street food which was unusual and good but wasn’t a very large portion for the money. My roasted cauliflower was excellent with subtle spices and lots of flavor. Loved the pita bread too! Hubby chose the tacos since they were cheapest. They were ok. It’s all very gourmet food but you’re carrying a plastic tray around a large room and sitting cafeteria style at communal tables. It’s different, kind of cool, but too much $.

Restaurant prices for self-service. Dai Due served up mediocre tacos for $6 each. Grilled cheese solo for $10. Fair bar prices. But otherwise a disappointment.

Fareground is a perfect place to go as a group or on a date. This place has 6 very different eateries to choose from. Fareground has attracted top talent who have created gourmet tacos to fresh sushi. You can’t go wrong. Plenty of seating inside or out. Get the monster cookie ($4) from Henbit. Absolutely delicious. The chicken salsa verde taco from Dai Due was a great appetizer. Small but good. Enjoy!

Tried this because it was close to where we were staying. Lots of food options and a small bar for drinks. There were mostly adults/couples/businessmen- but did see families with kids too. This isn't one restaurant its kind of like an upscale food court. Options ranged from chicken to fancy rammen. I had raamen and sushi and it was great. I would come here again when in Austin.

After hearing so much about this new food court, we ventured over yesterday. I was excited to try the chicken shio ramen. I’ve had ramen from California to Tokyo and that ramen was, sorry to say, horrible. The soup was highly salted hot water. The chicken char shiu was two slices of tasteless boiled chicken thigh meat. How can they call this ramen?? My husband tried the Tex Mex place, Dai Due. It was 3:30pm. The place was pretty empty. They took 40 minutes to prep 2 tacos and make the grilled corn side dish. What he finally got was dried out meat and cold tacos. He couldn’t eat it. We were supposed to share the grilled corn side dish but I couldn’t take more than a bite. Yuck! It had some weird watery and very salty “soup” at the bottom. The corn was cold and puckered up. In other words, not fresh and horrible. While we ate, a nice gentleman brought us water. I was very grateful. Then he after he made his rounds, picked up a broom and started sweeping everywhere around us. Sigh. The thought of dust in my food made an already horrible meal worse. We decided to throw things out and leave. The facility is beautiful and bright but after trying those two establishments, we will never go back to FareGround again.

Stumbled in here whilst taking a walk around Austin. Here overnight … we ordered at different points but lots of stalls / spaces empty. No atmosphere and people working here look like they’re half asleep… couple of office workers dotted around and this was a lunch time! The ‘Paris Rotisserie’ pretty disgraceful really +$20 for a chicken.. paid +$15 for a Parisian baguette and a coke. Baguette was properly buttered, cheap packet ham and Swiss… appalling. Presented in a piece of paper wrapped around tied with string. Threw half of it away as tasteless rubbish. Eat elsewhere would be the advice.

Excited to see Fareground reopen - sadly not able to review as they changed the pet policy! Austin, huge outside terrace, and a mean little security guy moving in anyone with a dog. Places like this make the city less cool and less weird. Avoid unless you’re allergic to dogs.

Fareground is a neat space in the basement of an office building across the street from the JW Marriott hotel. With multiple restaurants to choose from, all with a local connection to Austin, a diner has multiple choices. On this visit, I had a crispy beef bowl from Henbit. It was quite tasty but spicy! There is also a bar here, so when you are waiting for your food (each stall gives you a buzzer for when your food is ready), you can enjoy a libation or beer. Overall, I like the space and concept. I just wish that each restaurant a few more choices, as I felt somewhat limited across the venues (Italian, Asian, tacos, ramen, and Israeli street food).

We had a group of 26 people - we ordered from every vendor and were pleased with everything! Venison tacos were AMAZING! Good sushi, wings, and pastrami sandwich. Great bartenders!

With about six different restaurants, one can go from cheese to ramen, moo chicken, to hamburger. Lots,of,seating. Prices moderate. Lots,of,fun.

After watching the bats fly from the Congress Bridge it was an easy stroll to the Fareground. After window shopping all the different offerings (Israeli, ramen/sushi, street tacos, Italian), I got the burger with grilled jalapeños and grilled onions. It was soooo good. My daughter had the street tacos (but they’re $6 each), another daughter had the sushi and my son in law had the shawarma. The bar offered a good local selection.

Sorry Austin, but why are you so pretentious at Fairground? I was hungry and wanted some fast options. I heard that Fairground was like a fancy food court. I have been to fancy food courts in NYC and loved them. Unfortunately, Fairground was a complete disappointment!!! There are a few places to get food in the basement of a large building downtown at 2nd and Congress. I tried food at 2 different places, and both were completely overpriced. I paid $7 for one small taco!!! I paid $7 for a small turn over with cheese!!!! There are delicious tacos on every street. Skip Fairground and find some reasonable food.

We all wanted something different today so this was the perfect spot to stop and have a bite of lunch. It was quick, good food and relatively inexpensive.

This is a cool place and I'm sure its a life saver for the people who work in downtown Austin. However, it was a little overpriced and the ramen was not that great...

NIce cluster of midpriced restaurants with a foodcourt atmosphere. Informal dining indoors or out. I had a quarter rotisserie chicken with grilled broccoli and beet salad at Contigo. Friends had Ramen and sushi at Ni Kome. There's a Mexican restaurant, a cheese bar, and a real bar. Good food, easy ambiance and reasonable prices.

The draw at Fareground is local food from multiple purveyors served indoor our outdoor (with misting). Located right by the river in the downtown area, you will find it easy to get to and walkable from most Austin hotels. The food options vary between almost any kind of cuisine you can imagine. I particularly like the Cheese place. The Mac and Cheese there is phenomenal. You sit down and waiters take drink orders and then you buy your food from individual stalls and bring it back. If you have a hard to please group, take them here and they can’t say they couldn’t find something they liked.

Being able to taste treats from some of my favorite Austin restaurants in one place is genius. (Easy Tiger baguettes + Antonelli’s Cheese + a lovely draft from the Fareground bar = heaven.) On a recent Saturday it was packed with people enjoying the patio and outside seating. I adore the atmosphere. Tip - It's a great pit stop before watching the bats across the street. Family friendly too.

The location near the convention center was perfect. The foods available were great. I particularly enjoyed the Turkish place. The service was fast and they have both outdoor and indoor seating.

The Fareground is a delightful spot to have a group gathering, where there are many options to choose from depending on favorite tastes or moods. There are tables indoors and outdoors, allowing to escape from noise or the heat, whichever may be the case on your visit. The staff took great care of the grounds while we were there and promptly cleaned upon departure (without rushing us away or anything like that). This is a comfortable, friendly atmosphere with greenery inside the city, and definitely a great place to meet family and friends prior to a wedding to enjoy time with those who may not be at the rehearsal, or you may not have time to chat as much on the Big Day, of course. This would also be a great place for a date, family outing (please note, there is alcohol present which may be a deterrant for some families with children), or just to hang out and read a good book, perhaps even just a relaxing place away from work during the day.

A great facility that has a centrally located bar with a good selection of beer and then there is different food facilities in almost a food court style fashion.. but they are good restaurants not fast food. Lots of choices if you have a few people with you that want different things.

Just made my second trip to Fairground yesterday and was just as pleased as the last. This is an awesome concept as it allows you to not only get some beverages of your choice, from wine to beer to cocktails, but to sample foods from various chefs in the Austin area. While not every item we chose was knockout, I loved the chicken and rice from Henbit and the chicken tacos at Dai Due. And make sure you start your meal with a cheese plate from Antonelli's as they are always fantastic. if you have friends in town for just a day or so and want to give them a wide range of Austin flavors, this is the way to go.

Six restaurants have counter service and there’s a sit down area. So you have the ability to each order something different from a locally-based restaurant and sit together in the food hall. I had Dai Due tacos and liked them. It’s a little hard to find because you walk through a plaza and then go down a set of winding concrete steps where there are only a few signs.

Great spot if you and your friends aren't all sure what you want. I came in here for a late dinner and absolutely loved my meal from the Israeli spot. My friends all got different stuff and also really liked the food. The space itself is also large and beautiful.

A divine open space food market with bars and food stores from ramen and sushi to cheese to breakfast burritos. Nice options, AIR CONDITIONED! A bit hidden - it’s a few steps away from Buford tower (the campanile) Good idea to come here before or after seeing the bats - it’s open until 10pm!

Fareground has lots of space both inside and outside to relax, eat, and drink, and a nice selection of local eateries. I tried the gourmet tacos at Dai Due. I’m from Southern California and have some pretty strong opinions about tacos, so I was curious to sample the Texan version. The wild boar carnitas and the venison and sweet potato mole were both delicious. I especially liked that the flour tacos (which I prefer over corn) were lightly toasted.

Delicious!! Many of great options. Contigo is where it's at. Best chicken soup. Great service from the bartenders. Beat reu en sandwich as henbit. Migas taco at the Mexican spot

Great casual way to taste the best of Austin cuisine! Conveniently located downtown - it’s the perfect place to stop for lunch on a business trip or with family.

You have a choice of restaurants plus a bar with table service and cocktails on draft! It was a very enjoyable experience with friends. Don't miss the tacos from Dai Due, they're excellent!

Frequently my husband and I eat at Fareground before attending concerts at the Moody Theater. No need to worry about getting served and finishing in time before the show. There is a selection of restaurants, so we have an opportunity to eat whatever type of food we each prefer. It's inexpensive, too.

Took an out of town guest for what I thought would be a fun breakfast spot. Website says they open at 7:00. Only 2 stalls were open on Friday morning at 10:00 am. We ordered a vegetarian burrito and a kolache, seriously overpriced for what it was, not very good at all! On top of that parking is ridiculously expensive, even after getting a ticket from one of the stalls that were open. The outdoor space was very nice and well maintained, but who can afford to hang out and enjoy it with the parking price! I'd rather just go to the original locations of the restaurants and enjoy their food in their own space.

We stopped by this place for a quick and good quality breakfast at Fareground (ground level at the office building ) after we got a poor motel style breakfast at Hampton Inn Downtown Convention Center. Fareground offers impressive options for breakfast and lunch that food founders-entrepreneurs created their interesting menu for visitors. Definitelty, it is a right place for quick bites and hangouts. I loved TLV coffee drinks that left unforgettable experience and their taste.

We like the concept. Nice variety of places to eat and also a bar. Great outdoor area. I had a cheese sampler plate from Antonelli's and was a little disappointed but other that that we loved it.

First thing as we walked towards the stairs a homeless guy shoved his Big Gulp cup in our face wanting money. My wife was getting samples from several vendors. The non-English speaking busser kept removing plates by reaching over the food. She tried to take the last tray with the silverware. I told her no while my wife was gone. Another non-English speaking busser came up and I told her no. She grabbed the tray and walked off. When my wife returned we got up and left. We won't be back again.

We recently ate at the Fareground in Austin. It offers both variety and quality. We had an excellent meal. Nice find.

Stumbled on this place while on date night with my hubby. It was so fun! We'd try a little snack/drink at different places, then sat outside on the gorgeous lawn. What a hidden gem!

This conveniently located collection of eateries at the corner of Congress and Cesar Chavez includes outposts of Austin stars like Easy Tiger and Emmer &Rye plus a great bar and places offering sushi, ramen, tacos etc. in a very relaxed setting with plenty of indoor and outdoor setting.Nice place with typical Austin vibe.

There were tons of selections that were amazing from different restaurants around town. Perfect for a quick bite!

Didn't realize it was several restaurants, not one....I was hoping for brunch, but since those hours aren't listed, we didn't know. Ended up having an arepa. It was good.

Fareground is tasty spot for any meal of the day with beautiful outdoor seating and a range of cuisine to satisfy your tastebuds. The restaurant that is an absolute must is HENBIT! While on a work trip in Austin, I visited this delectable spot over 5 times. Thai chicken wrap - tasty and flavorful. Short rib breakfast bowl over roasted sweet potatoes and poached egg - blew me away. What had me coming back time after time was the MONSTER COOKIES. I take my cookies seriously and the incredible cookies served at Henbit were sensational in its simplicity. Chocolate chips and toasted pecans in a sizable cookie earning it's name of monster. Before leaving for the airport, I bought a few more for my freezer. In a city full of delicious offerings, this is a spot not to miss.

Go as a group or by yourself...there's outdoor and indoor seating. Lots of very good food options that will please any palate. Music on weekends is a pleasant addition to the ambiance. Easy, and a great spot for a quick or leisurely lunch or dinner.

I was in Austin for conference at the Marriot and would venture across the street to Fareground for lunch every day. Great sandwiches at Antonelli's, and the watermelon/feta/tomato salad is THE best! I went over one evening and got their last serving of it as well. The staff is very nice, and we chatted about the funky little grackle birds outside. Grab your lunch, and go eat outside...even when it was 104 degrees, it was great...because I had that watermelon salad!

I visited The Faregrounds with a group of 5 people and we all wanted something different for dinner. We all came away pleased with our selections and we all enjoyed the experience. The variety of food choices was perfect. The friendliness of the staff was great! The quality of the food was exceptional. And for those interested in adult beverages...they have a full bar as well. I will be back for sure. The whole place was clean and the outside area was well landscaped so someone definitely is taking care of business.

Six eateries plus a full bar. Indoor seating and covered outdoor tables. We enjoyed a flavorful cheese board, a generous serving of crispy tempura green beans with a well seasoned aioli, wild boar tacos, roasted beets, and grilled corn. Lots of other options: sushi, chicken, veggies, all reasonably priced. Five of us ate well for $66.

Ellis is outside of Fareground. We went early November 2021 and the service was HORRIBLE! Also they added a tip to my receipt after the fact. If I still had the receipt I would fight it but never have been robbed by a bar or restaurant.

This is truly an amazing redevelopment of this property where basically was dead space middle of a busy downtown area. I watched the construction but could not see the inside. Now its all completed the outdoor courtyard is very cool and when I walked in I was amazed of the transformation. It’s an upper scale food court with different food to choose from. It’s basically another hangout to work. Not sure if free WiFi is available. But you can just eat and drink here all day. I tried Contigo and it was amazing rotisserie chicken. Popular places like Easy Tiger and Henbit are located here. It’s a wide variety of choices like cheese, craft beer, sushi, ramen and tacos. There are plenty of restaurants in the area but now more walk up eateries will make me want to spend more time downtown.

Dinner at Contigo at the Fareground in downtown Austin was horrible! We were so disappointed. It would be too lengthy to state everything wrong with the quality and taste of our dinners, so I'll sum it up as leftovers warmed up to lukewarm and served. The chicken and marbled potatoes were really, really bad...old, curled up leftover potatoes barely warm. The chicken equally leftover.
Something for Everyone
The Faregrund is a fun concept eatery in Austin. Several standalone restaurants in Austin share space in this upscale eatery. There is something for everyone. There’s is a cheese shop with some pretty awesome mac and cheese. A sushi/ramen place. A taco place. A place that has great burgers and chicken and sides. If you are traveling with a pack and just want everyone to be able to make their own eating decisions its great. It’s also just a great place to go if you are flying solo.
