Good Breakfast

By E W |

We had a good breakfast on this outdoor patio. Mimosas were good, breakfast was good and the service was good. The ambiance is good - outdoor patio restaurant, with evening entertainment. Good place for breakfast or brunch too.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere

By thetattooedlady |

My friend and I had lunch here. First time for me and second time for her. First of all, the chips and salsa were definitely made there. Some restaurants serve chips that taste like store bought. These were fresh and delicious. We had two sodas, cheese enchilada meal, and a tostada meal. I had them add avacado slices to my tostada. The bill was $50 which was a little steep, but the food was delicious. I would definitely go back.

Viva Mexico!

By Laura P |

Fun dining, food was great and service was fast even considering the number of people here! Touristy shops and fun walk around the Old Town State Park.

What happened

By David Z J |

We visited on 4-14-17 for lunch. Sat down, my wife ordered marguerita; tasty. We ordered lunch, bean burrito plate for me and chicken tostada for her. 25 minutes later no food, we got up to leave and manager came over to apologize and offered us both dishes free of charge and he said he was very sorry for poor service. I was not happy but we accepted the "free" food. Food was mediocre, burrito lacked flavor, wife's chicken tostada sort of ok, nothing special. We left and as we were walking out manager came over to again say he was sorry for poor service but he had an attitude, not good. We will not be visiting here again.

Nonstop Fun!

By Lori F |

There is always something going on at Fiesta de Reyes! There is always lively music, and dancing in the evening, along with food, drinks, and shopping. A nonstop fiesta!

Live Folklorico Dancers

By Kevin M |

Definitely come to enjoy the live Folklorico dancers and the beautiful surroundings. The service was adequate and the food wasn't bad, but we've had better at other restaurants in Old Town.

Always pleased with the best.

By steinbeckfan2017 |

We ate here every night during our five-night stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel nearby. As Oscar Wilde put it, we "are always satisfied with the best." The staff, atmosphere and food left little, if anything, to be desired. The crowds and noise could be intense, but nobody comes here for a quiet dinner. Strongly recommended.

Fun atmosphere with delicious food

By dml240 |

Yeah, atmosphere is great fun. There are also wandering Mexican musicians. the raspberry margarita was delicious. Two of us shared the fajita plate and it was piping, hot and generous with onions, peppers, and zucchini.

Very fun, culturally rewarding

By Double "Ollie" Winner |

Highly average food in a perfect cultural setting with market and entertainment alongside. You will probably enjoy the experience much more than the food, and for that, I highly recommend it.

Outstanding

By 989emmettm |

Many shops featuring a wide variety of items with a Mexico and Southwest theme. Several restaurants with a good choice of food and drink. Something for everyone !

A taste of Mexico - the real deal!

By Carolyn J |

I always like to include a stop at Olde Towne whenever I am in San Diego. And if you want reliable and really good Mexican food, this is the place. The margaritas are worth a try as well. This time I had the queso fondido and they know how to do it properly. I chose the homemade flour tortillas although you could get corn ones, too.

Great Mexican restaurant!

By SRKRAHN |

This place is really great. Ambience is outstanding, shops all around, colorful surroundings, southwestern foliage. Service was prompt for such a busy atmosphere. I had the armadillo shrimp. Fantastic! Highly recommend!

Live Music & Margaritas!

By Caroline L |

We stopped in to Old Town and heard the music of Los Angeles Azules coming from the Fiesta de Reyes. We were drawn in by how good the live band was playing a variety of Spanish rock songs. There was a nice crowd sitting around: some having dinner, some dancing, and some just taking in the atmosphere. They had a stand alone bar straight back from the stage so we grabbed some margaritas ($14) and found a place to listen. It wasn’t long before we were dancing under the lights and enjoying the moment. The band played til about 10 or 10:30 and they could not have been better. Drinks were good. We’ll definitely be back.

Great stores and entertainment

By Amy W |

We went for dinner at Casa de Reyes restaurant which was a huge disappointment. Otherwise the stores and entertainment were great!!! We loved walking through all the shops and we're able to pick up some interesting souvenirs. We also got to watch the live entertainment which was awesome. The area was great and I'd go back,, but food I'd skip

Best ambiance

By AZhiker |

This restaurant is in the heart of old town San Diego and has tasty cocktails, guacamole, and hearty soups! We had the pozole and chicken tortilla soup which was so flavorful and filling! The guacamole was tasty and not bland as you may find elsewhere it neither was it spicy. We enjoyed our prickly pear margaritas as we took in not only the bustling restaurant but entertainment from the stage in the larger courtyard. This restaurant will kick you into a festive spirit. Also in the square is the Old Town Jerky and Root-beer store that sells root beer floats. You choose your own root beer from a fridge of over a dozen kinds. They have tons of flavors of jerky. My husband ate his souvenir package in one night!

Fun place for great Mexican food

By balanceok |

This is clearly a tourist spot in the middle of Old Town, but don’t let that put you off. I love these kind of places if the food and service is great. And here it is. Service was excellent and the food was too. Chips were fresh and the salsa was right. We had cheese enchiladas and chicken enchiladas. Both were great. I also had a couple of their fresh flour tortillas with butter. Loved it. We would definitely go back.

So so food

By chicanaviking |

This place was recommended by some local friends but we were a bit disappointed. The ambiance is great but the food is average at best. The kids meal was way over priced and didn’t even come with rice and beans. Go for the atmosphere and the Mexican dancers but there are better places to get Mexican food in Old Town.

Very Tasty

By UwU |

Delicious food that tasted very fresh. I was very impressed. The staff was friendly however it does get very crowded so the wait can be long. It’s a nice, enjoyable atmosphere. A good place to eat.

Terrible food

By cindy w |

The chips were cold and greasy. Not flavorful at all. Our food took quite a while to arrive. The red sauce on my enchilada was awful and the beans had a metallic taste like they were canned.

Redo of the market area with name change

By slaterock1704 |

Attractive and nicely landscaped. Stores have changed and some older ones replaced by kitsch. Still enjoyable for a beer or margarita and some light shopping. We always take a look, despite the touristy nature.

Some great dishes, some not

By ScissorsAndPens |

Service is friendly and the atmosphere touristy fun. My husband ordered the beef fajitas, which he pronounced completely delicious. But my vegetarian taco and enchilada were lukewarm and almost flavorless. The enchilada had plain over cooked mushrooms and spinach with no sauce or spicy taste at all. If you’re a meat eater, you’ll probably love this food; if not, you might want to keep looking.

Enjoyable Old Town Tourist Venue

By Dave P |

Stopped in for a margarita and chips. Enjoyed the festive surroundings and music. Drinks and service were good for us although I saw that some were frustrated with their wait. Food that was going by us looked good but we had other reservations. If you are going for the Old Town tourist experience or just a festive meal then this is a good place for it. Other places are quieter and low key.

Family Christmas trip

By MissesB1 |

We have been here every time we have visited San Diego. The music is the first thing we experienced. Very cool. The wait staff was in festive attire. The little shops around the restaurant are delightful. And the food is always very good. I had the steak fajitas. The meat was fork tender. And there was so much, it was much lunch another day. Count on a wait for your table, but that just gives you time to browse the quaint shops. It is not a cheap evening, but well worth it.

Recommended but difficult to park

By LifestylebyMaite |

Highly recommended we ate very well and were attended by a very friendly woman. We ordered some margaritas and food. It wasn't very spicy but we really liked the place with the show. We could see how they prepare fresh tortillas. It is very difficult to find parking for any of the restaurants in that area.

Fun atmosphere but come prepared to be patient

By Heather T |

We visited as a party of 6 on a Friday night around 6:30-7pm. There was a line to check in & once we’d done so, we were quoted 45 minutes wait time for an outside table. Not bad considering the line as well as the fact that it’s a popular restaurant with live entertainment! We only ended up only waiting about 25-30 minutes before the text arrived to tell us our table was ready. Our server was Leo. He had a great attitude and was very personable. The guys each ordered the monster beer-ritas & I got the frozen skinny margarita. My margarita wasn’t horrible but wasn’t tasty either. In fairness, I seldom drink but wow did I wake up at 3am with a raging headache! About those beer-ritas...no freaking way one person can finish one of those! Order it to share!! The food wasn’t bad. The $10.50 guacamole was really quite good but I didn’t realize how spendy it was & would not order again at that price. I ordered the rolled tacos (taquitos) & my belly paid for it the next day. They tasted good & weren’t spicy but alas... The music was a lot of fun. We couldn’t see the band but had no problem hearing them while being able to hold our own conversations as well. The atmosphere was also terrific; very active and lots of opportunity for people watching. All in our bill was $165 after 20% tip. Considering the size of the margaritas the guys ordered, it isn’t too bad. We won’t return strictly because the food wasn’t outstanding & the amount of time you wait for each phase of your meal (drinks, then ordering, then food arriving, collecting a to-go box, getting the check, etc) is longer than we’d care to spend again. By the time we’d finished, all the shops were closing. The guy in the ice cream shop barked at us for opening the door. My fault...the sign said closed but I was still reading it as we started to open the door. (Still...rude! lol) While we won’t return, I do think it was fun for the kids and entertaining for a 1-time dinner.

Horrible service and food

By dasicomom |

The worst place we ate in 4 days, horrible service, took forever to get drink or food ordered asked the waiter to have the heater lit as we were cold. He said yeah let me find someone to light it....Noone ever came and waiter never mentioned it. Food finally came out and was Luke warm. At this point we were all just starving so picked at it paid and left.

Great Atmosphere!

By LJB29 |

Ate here as a farewell dinner with family before leaving San Diego. Husband had the carne asada tacos and I had the fish tacos. Daughter had the kids garden salad. We all enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere is great. The music can be a little loud for conversation but it was festive. The service was good. It was a busy night and there were alot of large parties so I thought all considered, they did very well.

SLOW service but GREAT food.

By ragsdad aka Dusty Katz |

In their defense, I must say we visited this restaurant on a weekend, during Christmas vacation, thus the slow service. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and festive atmosphere, really felt like we were in old Mexico. First off, I must mention the tortilla chips, some of the best I've ever tasted, some being plain and others lightly covered with a very tasty seasoning salt. I ordered the salmon/shrimp enchilada, which came with a bowl of black beans and a fried corn mixture. Every item was perfect, and not at all like anything I've found at other Mexican restaurants. Old Town San Diego is such a fun place to visit, we even stayed at the Best Western Hacienda, located in the hills above town. Make plans to bring the family to Old Town and don't forget to stop here for lunch.

Shopping, Dining, Live Music, and Aesthetic Beauty!

By KT702 |

Fiesta de Reyes has a plethora of amazing shops, eating options, and hosts live music. It's hard to walk through it without finding yourself moving to the beat. We have eaten here, drank here, danced here, and shopped here several times, and we love it! It is filled with beautiful native landscaping and Mexican décor that is all so pleasurable to the eye. The smells, sights, and sounds are all perfect for capturing San Diego's Mexican history.

Fun place for a quick bite

Just stopped in for some margaritas and fresh tortillas! Service was excellent, atmosphere energetic, food delicious.

A visit to Mexico

By Chewtoy33 |

Though it is in the tourist area in old town, it feels as you are in a restaurant in Mexico. Huge open air patio. Musicians, a tortilla stand, and a street taco stand . I had the cheese enchiladas, the red sauce was so rich and tasty. Rice and bean sides and a nice white sangria . This is great for groups and families, they do not take reservations , so plan on at least a 1 1/2 wait on peak dining times. Well worth the wait!

Loved it!!!

By Sharon J |

Food was great. Try the ceviche- delicious. Live entertainment at night. All outdoor seating but fire heaters and candles make it cozy at night. Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and watching the folk dancers with a few churro after dinner

Family visit

By Khalid M |

Lovely place in old San Diego. Feels like authentic old Mexican village. Lovely shops and had lots of fun with kids, reading history, looking at crafts.

Disappointed by inability to get a table

By Arlin F |

We were very excited to go to this restaurant as the property looks amazing and you feel like you're in Mexico. However, there was a 20 minute wait (which was fine) but because we didn't have a local cell phone number we couldn't be advised when our table would be ready--so were sent away!! We even offered to just hang around at the entrance until our turn came, but were told that the system only works on cell phones. Since our international cell phone wasn't accepted by the system...we had to leave. So bring your local cellphone or you'll be out of luck in busy times.

Great authentic experience

By Cadbanker |

Group of 1200 took over Old Town. We were greeted by platters of margaritas and beers. Food was very good for such a large crowd. The mariachi band was very talented and fun. Great time was had by all!

Best Salsa of any Mexican Restaurant in the US or Mexico!

By Janet_and_Jerry |

Exceptional outdoor Mexican restaurant. The Salsa her was the best we have had in the US or Mexico. Everything was exceptional and full of flavor - not the fried and covered with cheese sauce we usually get in Mexican restaurants. We loved the outdoor seating and Mariachi music!

Worst Mexican food we've ever had.

By GigiDee23 |

Worst Mexican food we've EVER had. Great atmosphere, looks incredible so we were excited. The food came and we had all ordered something different: Cripsy chicken tacos, Crispy beef tacos, Beef enchilada, Pork tamale, rice and beans. Everything tasted like it needed salt or seasoning. Bland. Even the chips were bland. Drinks were never refilled. Two bright spots: Beautiful venue, the free churros were delicious- when you sign up for their newsletter, they email you a coupon for free churros.

SO MUCH food!

By Gary and Judy A |

Wandering about the Old Town, we felt a bit hungry, so decided to give this place a try...good choice! Mexican Food was awesome, and the plate filled with more than I could consume...the atmosphere and service was excellent

Enjoyable

Fun place with outdoor seating! Nice to hear live music while you wait. Great drinks and good food. They do not accept reservations.

Great Mexican Food - Great Old Dan Diego Atmosphere

By MaddoDB |

If you’re in the extremely atmospheric San Diego Old Town looking for somewhere of equal character to eat I can highly recommend the Fiesta de Reyes. Great Mexican food with a great outdoor Mexican feel and all at a reasonable price. The Old Town experience with outdoor Mexican fare at the Fiesta de Reyes is a great combination for a thoroughly enjoyable evening out.

Cute store with lots of charm

By Elena A |

Recently visited this charming store in Old Town. There were many goodies to buy - authentic wares and cute clothing! Purchased a knee length wrap!

Good Fun- good food!

By GrimsbyMariner15 |

After visiting the old town earlier in the day we came back in the evening for alfresco dinner.Local entertainment with dancers and music added to the lively atmosphere. Food as excellent and plentiful and the wine flowed. Very enjoyable.

LOVELY LOCATION

By suzabella60 |

This restaurant is tucked away from the main part of Old Town, almost like a little culle de sac, and had missed this section when here in 2010. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the gardens/atmosphere of the area, especially with all the day of the dead decorations. Portions are huge, so you might want to consider sharing a plate. I had the enchiladas, one beef or pork (couldn't tell!), one chicken and one cheese. I did not like the cheese one at all and left it. My partner had the nachos. Their tortilla chips given to us with salsa when we sat down were, without doubt, the BEST I had even had, but sadly they got extrememly soggy very quickly with the nacho dish so as to become unpalatable. Perhaps they would like to consider having a smaller nacho serving for a 'single' person, not a huge plate clearly meant to share. I think this way they would be eaten more quickly and not 'sog' up!

Old Town’s best restaurant

By John W |

Stopped by for lunch and was very impressed with the service and the food and the outdoor seating. We were hungry and the place was in the right in the middle of Old Town State Park. We will do this again. The beer was cold and the Mexican food was good. The place had lots of people but the service was fast and friendly. Good flavor and hot when delivered to the table.

Amazing atmosphere, excellent food

By Cherylvandrie |

Definitely would return again! The margaritas were great, enchiladas were wonderful, and chips and guacamole were also amazing!

Great food and service

By Sue H |

We stopped for lunch. It was delicious. We had a part of six, and had a approx. 10 min. wait for a table. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and asked for guacamole and a side of beans. The party enjoyed the appetizer. We ordered our meals and they came out timely. The flour shells were homemade and good. The chips and salsa were also good. A note regarding the chips they do put a spicy seasoning on them, which our young kids did not really like, they were although able to pick thru the basket and find ones with minimal seasoning.

Disappointing!

By Oceana2015 |

This is the first time TripAdvisor has let us down! Although the setting was fun, the Mexican band was entertaining, the food was highly average and over priced. I would not recommend this restaurant, there must be something better in Olde Town!

Lively / Magical Find in Old Town!

By Rich G |

We went to Old Town to check the place out, get lunch, and walk the shoppes. Didn't expect to find this lively yet cozy corner of Old town filled with shops and restaurants and a stage with live music! Loved the vibe in here, and they say there's always something going on in terms of entertainment on the stage (live singers, musicians, dancing, etc). There are a couple restaurants in here (didn't try them) but they make fresh tortillas, and even a stand with fresh tamales. Shops are typical but not as junk-oriented as some of the souvenir shops around the corner. All the decor and outdoor furniture was very neat, with a mexican day of the dead feel and motif. Definitely find your way to Fiesta de Reyes if in Old Town, if even you only have 15 mins to explore - well worth it!

co-located with casa de reyes

By NEofAZ |

good outdoor Mexican restaurant. the margaritas are very good. spring and fall ae good times to visit because of the temperature while during the winter it could be a bit chilly.

Great Mexican Food in a Beautiful Setting.

By CindyV1111 |

We eat at the Casa de Reyes every time we travel to San Diego. The restaurant is set outdoors with beautiful lighting and outdoor heaters for the chillier nights. If you can't get a table immediately, you can wait in an outdoor lounge area that has entertainment or walk around the restaurant and visit the shops that surround it. Once you are seated, you get unlimited chips and salsa - be warned, the chips are amazing and the meal portions large so it can be easy to fill up on the chips and not eat all of the meal (in my experience). The margaritas are excellent and everything I've ever ordered has been served fresh. Portions are very large. The service is excellent.

Wow!

By db7477 |

We visited Fiesta de Reyes on October 26 after picking my wife up at the airport. Dinner was very good but we were not prepared for the decorations heralding the Day of the Dead. It’s not to be missed!

Feel like you are in Mexico without going south of the border

This is a quaint area with Mexican restaurants and shops. If you like Mexican food you are sure to enjoy this area. My favorite shop is the tile shop which carries beautiful hand painted tiles.

Food was great. Prices very good at the restaurant. strolling mariachi band serenaded us. Quaint souvenir stores. outdoor seating, great service.

Ambiance is original, patio was comfortable. Staff were friendly, food and margaritas were average. To smell Mexican style in old town go ahead and visit without expecting much

A Must in Old Town

By Kim C |

Visited yesterday for lunch. Outside seating, tasty drinks, amazing food!! I had a mojito that was out of this world. Friend had a frozen mango margarita. There are many variations of the frozen variety. I ordered a shrimp salad, friend had an enchilada dish - waayyy too much food for her. Lol. Shrimp was super tasty. Absolutely no complaints. Friendly staff, quick service - ambiance galore.

Great ambiance, decent food in large portions

By Kurtt B |

We had a wonderful experience, mostly due to the Day of the Dead celebrations going on. There was a live band playing traditional Mexican songs, Day of the Dead decorations hung around, and fires and torches lit all around, making the atmosphere truly wonderful. The food was good, not great but good. Friendly service, large portions.

San Diego

By GeorgeDAZ |

Our food was served very soon after we ordered and was very good. It was one of the better Mexican restaurants that I have eaten at and I would eat there again. Nice setting in Old Town.

Great Service - Horrible Food

By Mike P |

Our order arrived 3-4 minutes after we placed it. Not a good sign. Chips were hard and dripping with oil. Carnitas- low on flavor. High on fat. Overall a bad meal. Great service however by friendly, smiling staff.

Soak in the vibe!

By Kathy M |

What I liked best about Fiesta de Reyes was that people love to go there and pack it every time I've been there. Set in a large leafy, beautiful courtyard, surrounded by quirky and interesting shops, the Fiesta has a festive atmosphere due to the community area that shares the courtyard. In that area, there is a stage with a live band, dancing for anyone who wants to, and benches and hay bales to sit on and soak it all in. One of the weekend nights that I was there, local families piled into the courtyard with their blankets to sit around and join in the fun. I liked the Casa de Reyes restaurant and found the food quite good and well-prepared. Portions are large. The service, even though the place was busy, was still quite good and everyone was friendly. My only suggestion is going a little earlier to avoid line-ups in the restaurant. Or sit in the courtyard instead of the bar while you're waiting. Along the bar, it's just not very relaxing. Enjoy yourself! Hope you found this helpful.

Best Mexican Food in Old Town!

By neonphil |

We heard that the best Mexican food in San Diego was in Old Town so we looked around for a place to eat. We stopped at another place (can't remember the name) but it didn't have any atmosphere and the staff was rude. So this was our second pick and it was perfect. The fire pits and towers were all ablaze. The place was packed but we were seated right away. Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had. Fresh taste. Loved the flan! Would like to return on a weekend to enjoy the music.

Best food and fun atmosphere!

friendly and good service, authentic food, fun atmosphere, good for kids so long as early evening, great guacamole, good breakfast too starting at 10 a.m.

Cool atmosphere, very average food and service.

By Ron D |

This Place has very cool atmosphere but the food and service were very average. Lots of better Mexican food if you going to Old Town San Diego!

Fun and yummy!

By LSchreiner |

My husband and I went to eat there on the afternoon of May 1, 2016. We had a blast! Fun atmosphere! Live band, open restaurant! The drinks were really good! The food portions are huge and delicious! We both ordered the chicken enchiladas and churros for dessert. Staff was very friendly.

Feast for a King !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By DannyWasserman |

I love going to Old Town and spending time at Fiesta de Reyes Restaurant !!.. The band that they have playing along with the dancing is so awesome that alone is worth making the trip. The atmosphere with the landscaping and palm trees with the heat lamps and Spanish / Mexican décor is just so pretty. Oh yea, don't forget the food is really good and the margaritas are a must do.

Favorite Place in Old Town San Diego

By Nikki J |

Loved Fiesta De Reyes! We had dinner two nights in a row there during our trip, one night at Barra Barra Saloon, and the last night at Casa De Reyes. Cooler temps in December but sitting outside perfectly comfortable with heaters everywhere. Beautifully decorated for Christmas! Tamales, elotes, churros, and champurrado stands inside the square. Live music. Will come again at Christmas, there were signs for Las Posadas celebration but we missed it.

Abundant dishes!

By Annalisa R |

Immersed in an informal atmosphere, this place turns out to be cute as well as having good dishes. A tip: take a plate for two, they are really generous.

Very nice breakfast!

By Gail R |

Stopped for breakfast on our visit to Old Town San Diego. Our server, David, was great! All of our meals were tasty and plentiful. The fire pit was going and took the chill out of the air. A fun place!

Good food and entertainment

By linda3456877 |

We went here because the restaurant recommended by the tourist information person was terrible. Fiesta de Reyes had great food, drinks, entertainment and service. Great margaritas. Best churros anywhere in San Diego. Would g back for sure.

Outdoor patio, lots to see

By kaje54 |

Fiesta-themed, this establishment features a cafe surrounded by small shops, including a toy store. A large platform nearby features regular performances of costumed dances. The music is a bit loud but in keeping with the whole Mexican theme. Menu features plentiful portions so go hungry! Although everything served pretty good, our large party didn't note anything exceptional. Note that tables are set on paving stones are can be wobbly.

Fiesta de Reyes

By Ravi |

We live up the beach in Venice and will make the 2 hour drive to Old Town just to visit. A part of every visit is a stop at the Fiesta for a snack and a margarita. Mariachis walking around, live musicians and dancers in the garden. Always busy, the ambiance and drinks in a garden patio with fountains and a ring of shops make this a pleasure anytime. We've been coming for 30+ years, first when it was Casa de Pico and then after the change. This is the must go to in Old town

Consistently Fun and Tasty

By DermDude1 |

We really enjoy the outdoor seating and friendly service. The portions are fast, large and quite fresh. In the evening the gas lamps are burning, and there is live music one can bring to the table -- or seating right outside of the front door under the palms and stars for dancing and singing troupes. They cater to the local and tourist and know you are there for a good time with authentic food. You really can never go wrong.

Interesting Place

By johnellen@mchsi.com |

This restaurant features outdoor seating, live entertainment, caged fires to keep one warm. The menu is large and the service is great. The only downside was after dark, the absence of lighting made it difficult to read the menu - could have used a flashlight.

Fresh Food great place

By Updesh_Singh |

I went there with family and this place had everything. Great live music, lot of mexican artefacts, collectors items, tiles and yes great food. Feed was very fresh tasty and very mexican. Enjoyed every bit of it. Service was also very fast although ll tables were full and people were waiting to be seated.

Gigantic!

By misopiso88 |

We were staying in Old Town and stopped into Fiesta de Reyes for a margarita one night. The place is huge with tons of tables. Not a ton of seats at the bar so I would plan on getting a table or standing!

Nice strawberry margarita

By irishgurl2016 |

Nice cocktail...food average..felt rushed out. Asked 4 times in 10 minutes were we finished when we clearly were not.

Amazing Afternoon

By DannyWasserman |

Quality Mexican food at fair prices is just the beginning of this review. They have a band that plays regularly and their is seating to enjoy and listen. They're is even a small dance floor. Plenty of decor, water fountains, heat lamps, and friendly service is a perfect touch to a great dinner.

My Favorite Mexican Restaurant in Old Town!

By Claudia M |

Ambiance is the word!! Mariachi bands play... its outdoor in a huge garden area surrounded by tourist friendly shops!! On Monday nights, kids eat FREE!! Our whole family celebrated my birthday here a few years ago. Food is great!!

Best Mexican Food

By dancinmoose |

This is our “go to” restaurant while in San Diego. Great atmosphere and terrific food. Located on Old Town the location offers many shops and other food places. You can walk in the historic park, visit vendor booths and enjoy music and authentic Mexican dances.

Authentic, delicious outdoor dining

By Denny M |

Located in Old Town, this lovely outdoor restaurant has a varied menu of authentic Mexican foods. We started with a refreshing glass of sangria. The chicken enchilada platter did not disappoint. The server offered a choice of spicy red sauce or mild jack cheese sauce. I went with the mild cheese. My wife, who is gluten free, ordered the tamale combo. One chicken with red sauce and one pork with tomatillo sauce. Large portions served with rice and beans made a satisfying lunch. The service was terrific, though a little slow getting our check. The meals were a little pricey compared to most Mexican restaurants, but considering the location and delightful patio atmosphere, it's worth it.

Good for Dio De Los Muertos

By Keith A |

I came here as part of a meet up photo group to start the day taking pics for the day of the dead. I have been to old town a few times but never stopped in. I liked the way they had decorated and got into the spirit and most people working there seemed to be nice and friendly. I had 1 lady that was serving alcohol giving me dirty looks while I was taking pictures, not sure what her problem was. I stopped to set up my tripod for a moment to take a picture and I got scolded by some old guy that was working there, saying, "You are not going to set up there are you? That is not a good place". Well I don't see what the problem was when many other people with large baby strollers were parked there and I was taking up less room than them and I was only there for a few minutes. I did not end up staying there to try anything. Maybe some other time I will go back and see if they are a little more friendly.

Number one place to eat in Old Town

By heckfy |

If you are looking for place to have a meal in Old Town - you should really consider this one. Can't really go wrong. It's located inside a courtyard full of shops so you get a feel of being in the middle of everything. It is very nicely decorated, the food and service are consistently good.

Fun atmosphere

By Carol B |

Seating was outside with tables with umbrellas with men coming around serenading people at their table. Food was just ok! Not the best Mexican food I've had. Wasn't a fan of the salsa either. It's located in old town San Diego.

Great Mexican food

This restaurant is located in Old Town in the heart of the Plaza. I had pork Buritto with a light salsa sauce that was excellent. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food selections. I was very surprised had fast the food came after our order. Overall food quality was very good, but the margaritas were a little pricy. The wait staff was very attentive for a large group. Overall experience was very and I would highly recommend.

Fun place, so-so food

By Amardeep H |

We heard the wait to get in to this place was long, so we went early expecting great food. I think the wait is for the ambiance. Its a great location in Old Town, with lots of music and atmosphere. The food was not great, the drinks were so-so. I was disappointed. Its definitely a tourist trap. We should have opted for a Mexican spot off the main drag.

Delicious and Fun

By KD on the Run |

Authentic Mexican restaurant filled with tourists, lol. We went at about 5:00 pm and getting a table outside was easy. The service was great and the drinks were delicious. Our table was along the perimeter and we could see the live entertainment which was a nice touch. Moderate priced meals that were delicious.

Lots to see

By Jesus O |

Always enjoy the store's, music, variety at Reyes. Purchased some plants, some artwork there. There was great music, in the small plaza net to the restaurant.

Fun visit- check out the performers!

By Samantha H |

We spent a good bit of time here on a recent visit to Old Town. We checked out the shops, and sat down and watched some dancing. Worth a stop if you're in the area.

Food is always wonderful no matter what we have ordered. Great for couples and families. Childrens menu and lots of food

Lunch in Old Town San Diego

By jim |

Today was a bit strange as we walked through the once known Bazaar Del Mondo in San Diego’s Old Town. We took a chance and ate lunch at this new restaurant and found the food tasty, the atmosphere pleasant, the service good, the prices fair. There were a lot of tourist visiting Old Town and many chose this restaurant as well. There are many choices to dine, this location is acceptable for all that was shared above, but check out other restaurants in the area. As time passes, businesses change, some close, some open.

Dinner

By garradj |

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. We live in a Utah and make a point of eating here anytime we are near San Diego. It is always one of the highlights of our trip. This last week while in San Diego for three days we ate there twice. The food is so delicious and authentic. The service is spectacular and the outdoor atmosphere in Old Town is amazing. We love Mexican food and have many favorite restaurants but you won’t find better then Fiesta De Reyes!

Excellent good, great service

By docnoel14 |

I ate dinner here recently while visiting SD for work. I'm glad I did because the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was busy but the service was still very good. There's excellent people watching as well. I look forward to eating here again.

Great food and wonderful Mariachi band. Excellent service and wonderful surroundings.Close to shops and museums.

Great atmosphere

By eatdrinkstay |

We arrived in San Diego and this was a short walk from the Hilton, What a fantastic atmosphere with the live music and the fires and outdoor heaters , the food and service were brilliant. Will return and try more on the menu. It was a very busy place too which always speaks volumes.

A Mexican experience in the U.S.

By raydecloux |

We've been to this restaurant 4 times within the last 2 years and are always happy with the ambiance and the food. We are fans of Mexican cuisine and this place is as authentic as you get anywhere in the U.S. THe only downside is that we live in Canada, so it's too far to be our go to place for Mexican food. But any time we are in the southern States we try to get to this place. The surrounding area gives you a great being in Mexico feeling.

What a find

By Love To Travel |

We stumbled upon this place after literally following the music. There is an amazing amount of plants and trees surrounding a courtyard and a stage whoch seemed to offer free entertainment each night, we saw traditional mexican dancing and a mariachi band - they have got a tip box at the front of the stage. There are lovely benches where you can sit and relax to watch the shows. There is also an outdoor restaurant - we didnt go in but the smells that were coming from there were amazing. On the outside of the courtyard are around 20 unique shops selling local arty goods, plants, souveneirs...lots. Its a beautiful place

Good atmosphere but mediocre food

By Peter J |

There are too many great restaurants around to waste your time coming here unless it's just for a drink and appetizer. The entrees are merely mediocre-this family will not be back.

Fantastic experience!

By bubbleheadout |

What a great little place to shop, eat and to enjoy local entertainment. We loved watching the young children preform a variety of Mexican dances and the music was just beautiful. The place comes to life around dinner time. Highly recommend!

the music is not the same .

By jose_ramos3@hotmail.com |

we went for the day want it to eat there ,but the service took to long also the music was not the same .same band

Great Dining Spot

By rjhaardvark |

Fiesta de Reyes is located within the San Diego Old Town. The food is great, and there is plenty of it. Come hungry. All of the tables are shaded. Manual, our server, was perfect. There were four of us, and each one ordered something different. Everyone was very pleased with our selection.

Festive, Beautiful and Fun!

By Linda H |

Very fun place to wander among the tropical plants and beautiful Mexican pottery! We went to Old Town to see a little history, and walk the shoppes. Did not expect to find this beautiful, lively, cozy courtyard in Old town filled with Mexican shops, restaurants and a stage with live music! Loved the vibe in here!! Each time we’ve been, there's always some type of entertainment on the stage (live singers, musicians, dancing, etc). There are benches to sit on and listen to the music and in the evening people usually will dance in the space in front of the stage. Casa de Reyes Restaurant is right in the middle of the courtyard and is great. Food is fresh and delicious. Margaritas are huge and tasty! There are a variety of Shops surrounding the courtyard. Most sell various items made in Mexico. There is a beautiful Mexian tile shop. Also near the tile shop is a store called Treasures of Mexico, that sells unique pottery and ceramic pieces from various different locations throughout Mexico. This store carried true quality goods and the owner was very helpful and knowledgeable about his products. I highly recommend visiting Fiesta de Reyes day or night. You will have a great time!

Nice place in Old Town, San Diego. The food is reasonably good accompanied by pleasant live music. An authentic Mexican outpost.

Favorite of San Diego

This place is phenomenal. Whenever we get the chance to visit San Diego, we have to go here. The food is great. The staff is friendly and attentive. The scenery is beautiful. Overall a great place to go.

Festival Atmosphere

Visited at nighttime and great little shops to walk around and enjoy the festival atmosphere. There was nightime dancing and seating outside where you could watch sip a coffee / ice cream.

Great Mexican Food

By Linda F |

Took a trip to Old Town San Diego and ate at Fiesta De Reyes for lunch. Beautiful outdoor seating and a great meal! We had enchiladas and fajitas, very good! Chips and salsa had great flavor and the beer was cold! Definitely going back!

Great atmosphere

By db7477 |

We visited after checking out the Comic Con crowds. We went straight to the bar and downed two pitchers of Margaritas while waiting for our table. Dinner was great. The chips and salsa were fresh. My wife loved the Salmon Del Diablo!

Fantastic experience in Old Town and Fiesta de Reyes. Make time to experience the community Fiesta de Reyes has created with local musicians, stores and delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and well worth the time.

Best Mexican food ever.

Amazing place to visit! The food here was exceptional. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and at a decent price as well.

Good Mexican meal

The mexican meals were very good and excellent value. The service was also first class and great atmosphere.

Great mexican food in Old

By Hernan C |

Great mexican food in Old Town San Diego. If you are visiting San Diego one of the main attractions is the Old Town, which was back then part of Mexico. This restaurant has great food in great a atmosphere. If you are planning to visit Old Town and lunch or have dinner there, this is THE place.

Old Town visit

By turne23 |

This place has a nice outdoor patio. The temperature was about 60° and they had all of their outside heaters going. The margaritas were great. I ordered a corny Asada steak with a cheese enchilada. Others at the table ordered a fajitas and a chili relleno. A great place to go with a great atmosphere!

Very nice Mexican style village in Old Town

By Minardi |

Highly recommended place to stop by if you are looking for Mexican culture. You will find several good stores that sell handmade souvenirs, an outstanding restaurant named Casa de Reyes and some very good music/dance presentations. My family’s favourite spot in Old Town San Diego...

Great food in a festive atmosphere!

By thegoofrules |

My family with young kids always enjoys this open air restaurant in Old Town. Tons of distractions nearby (shops, snacks, live music) and excellent Mexican food and margaritas.

Festive ambiance. Okay food.

By Funtravels13 |

I love how this restaurant is in the middle of a courtyard. There is a mariachi band stage next to this place where I assume the band plays. I loved how friendly the staff was and how courteous they were. They greet you in a warm way. Also loved the way they have decorated the place. The ladies serving are dressed in Mexican clothes which also adds to the authenticity. I have to say that I was disappointed with the food. We went here for a late lunch. I have been to this place before but I think it was operated by someone else because at that time the food was excellent. I ordered nachos and felt that they were so so. My daughter ordered the veggie enchiladas. She also thought that they were so, so. We had a guest with us who ordered a burrito. He enjoyed his veggie burritos. They start you off with chips and salsa which are okay. The pina colada I ordered today seemed watered down. I would go back to this place for the ambiance but not for the food. On the plus side the portion sizes are big. You can eat half and take half home.

A step into quaint Mexican Village

By Kim J |

From the beautiful flowers and landscaping, to the abundant outside restaurants and shops - this was a wonderful stop during our trip to Old Town San Diego. I felt like i was in a Mexican village sqaure - there was music, awesome aromas from the restaurants and authentic Mexican items in the shops (including Mexican vanilla!). We stopped into sample some wine and craft beer at Rosie's Tasting Room where our host was very engaging and knowledgeable. (I was too chicken to try the Passionfruit Habenaro wine though) Overall it was a very enjoyable part of our visit to Old Town - would highly recommend this.

Pleasant

By Wanderlassie |

Nice to have warm chips and salsa an automatic…ordered pitcher of beer. Service was friendly and prompt. Menu prices were medium-high, not encouraging us to eat here.

A fun night out

By Stuart C |

Staying in San Diego Old Town for a few days we came acroos Fiesta de Reyes during the day and decided we needed to visit at night when the place was in full swing. The place is quirky with lots to see from the various shops around the sides, the stage in the centre with music and dancing and the large open-air restaurant and bar. At night the place was buzzing and the many 'Day of the Dead' decorations added to the atmosphere. The food was not the best mexican food we have ever had but was good enough and I would recommend a visit if you are visiting Old Town.

Great Dinner!

By Allen K |

We saw the add on TV and decided to try it out, this place is really cozy with live Music and lots of souvenir stores from Mexico and other countries, Saturday night was the busiest ever, the sitting area is huge with very courteous workers, the food was great, we love Mexican food and we are glade we tried it because we are going back in the future, they serve great food and great drinks, they have a bar outside, the only issue i had was they should clean the tables better otherwise food was awesome and the atmosphere was incredible. try it out! it gets very busy on weekends.

Anniversary luncheon

By Michael G |

Food was good but not great. Since new owners took over the restaurant the margaritas changed dramatically and are not the same. Had a Cadillac margarita and it tasted like fruit juice. No punch as before. The glass sizes went from large margarita glass to a large size (normal) glass. The margaritas are not the same. Best margaritas I have had was in Palm Springs. Will not go back to this place.

Good food, great atmosphere

By bradshawgirl |

We stopped here for dinner after a day of sightseeing, and we really enjoyed it! You sit outside, under colorful decorations and lights. Costumed servers take your order and bring you your food. It's the perfect place on a beautiful evening! I chose the shrimp avocado salad, washed down with a refreshing margarita! Delicious! My son had a cheese quesadilla. When we visited, the restaurant was decorated for Dia de los Muertos, so there were even more cool decorations to see. A fun stop!

Great Place!!

By LizF1528 |

We visited Old Town and ate here at the suggestion of a friend. They were still celebrating Dio de los Muertos and we got to see dancers on the stage. The restaurant is located in its own little plaza with shops. Great service and the food was good.

Delish!

By Ashley U |

The food was SO good - I got the cheese enchilada and chicken crispy taco combo. Way too much food for me. The drink variety was good, and the live music made it so festive! Service was amazing, even when we had to ask the waitress to split the receipt twice.

Don’t let the long line deter you…

By Katie B |

This place was packed for a Friday night. We were told the wait would be 20-25 mins, but they called us back in 10. Service was excellent and the food was fast and delicious. Would definitely recommend you go!

Good food

By Debbie A |

The atmosphere was good here. They were short staffed when we were there. The staff was very friendly however they were unorganized. The food was good but the margaritas were disappointing.

Yo quero masa!

By Orad O |

I LOVED IT! Great live music! Great joie de vivre! Great food! Great times. The place was alive with all the fun in the galaxy distilled down to this one place. The margaritas were great! The food was outstanding. I felt like I had left San Diego and transcended into the land of JUST FUN. A great night. Was there as a couple, but there were lots of families with small and/or grown kids.

Great Mojito

By Marlinda K |

I loved the Mojito drink. I had the Tortilla Soup, it was very good. My friends had the Sizzling Fajitas. They were very good. It is nice atmosphere and the people are very nice. I hope to go back some day. I loved the shops around.

Nice restaurant and shop complex

By Kaygee2016 |

Restaurant seating is in a treed courtyard surrounded by nice shops. Some evenings there is a free cultural performance such as ethnic dancing at a modest adjacent stage.

Just like in Mexico!

By Tina B |

This restaurant has a great atmosphere if you like it the Mexican way. The outside patio is busy, loud since they play live music and serve big servings of Mexican food. The place is popular and have a system of texting you whenever a table is ready so I would recommend to order the pitcher of margarita while waiting, it is delicious! The staff is very service minded even though the place is busy.

An International Crossroads of Food, Culture, and History

By jmllhughes5 |

Fiesta de Reyes is an international crossroads of food, culture, and history situated in Historic Old Town San Diego, California. This was my favorite spot in Old Town San Diego because of its fun and spontaneous international flavor. There are many outdoor patio restaurants and confectioneries to indulge your taste buds. Fiesta de Reyes is bubbling with excitement and culture. A must visit for anyone traveling through San Diego!

Good music but Really Bad food and dining experience

By RangerRik54 |

We chose this place because of the reviews. We came down in preparation of a mission trip across the border the next day to build homes. Music was nice and a big draw. Long wait even with reservation app. Got in 8 pm. Chips and salsa were great but that's where it ended. Hour wait for food. My wife's stuffed shrimp with crab was fishy, cold, and the bacon wrap was tough. My chefs specialty was $18 but just a glorified fajita. My Friend's Mole' was ok. Very disappointed to the point that next year's trip we are not even going to eat at old town and chose another area of san Diego for our one night out. Very crowded and restaurant prices high for the quality.

Love this evening, every time.

By Tinaray107 |

We brought our children here and we were even more than happy to see our favorite Mexican food in San Diego has a "kids eat free" night. Sweet. Our children loved our favorite place too, like we always do. Great chimichangas. Love them, love the staff. Love the beautiful outdoor seating. So wonderful.

Dinner & A Show

By Tempestt C |

We actually came back to eat at Fiesta de Reyes, after touring Old Town the previous day. Food was good, service as average, and there were dancers performing, as we ate. The Armadillo Shrimp (prawns stuffed with crab and pepper jack cheese and wrapped in bacon with chipotle aioli drizzle, served with black beans and corn salad.) were very tasty, there were several combos that my family enjoyed, as well and fresh tortilla chips and salsa to start. We also shared a deep fried ice cream, which was good.

We could spend hours here

By Larry F |

My wife and I stopped by here several times as we walked between our hotel and Old Town. Every time there was a different set of entertainers producing a joyous celebration of Mexican dance and song. just have a seat and enjoy!

Great Mexican Food, great service, great atmosphere!

By Edward F |

It's been a while since I've been here, and my wife told my boys (who were on a road trip with me) that this was her favorite Mexican restaurant ever. Our visit did not disappoint! The chips with salsa were great, and a side order of guac was fresh and delicious. I had the fajitas and the boys went with two different burritos, and we loved it all. Just spicy enough, great flavors, and the meat was tender and tasty. Visit Old Town and especially Fiesta de Reyes - highly recommended!

I finally found a real live traditional Mexican Restaurant in California!

By kathyh303 |

After living in Southern California for over 25 years I feel like I discovered a gold mine in the Fiesta de Reyes Restaurant in Old Town San Diego. My son insisted we meet him in Old Town because he is at San Diego State and thought we would love it. After a day at Sea World we were tired but decided to check it out. I LOVED IT! Wish I had hung out in Old Town instead of sitting through the Shamu and Dolphin shows with sopping wet kids! Cute shops, museums, authentic cowboys smoking real cigars, tea, coffee shops, art exhibits, etc. I NEEDED A MEXICAN BEER OR MARGARITA! I searched out the reviews and Fiesta de Reyes had excellent comments so we tried it out. All I can say is that the service was great, the beers freezing cold, they had huge margaritas and tasty fajitas with a traditional menu that even the kids loved. Fresh veggies, fresh guacamole, really healthy low fat vegan options, but also yummy fried cheesy traditional dishes like TAMALES, QUESADILLAS, and seafood specialties that I would have loved to mow through if I was not always on a diet! The reason I am saying that it is traditional is that you can tell that with the live music, waitress outfits, and atmosphere, that the place has probably been around a long time - AND IT WAS PACKED!

fun but crowded

By gonzofan1 |

sunny and bright, pretty crowded and fun for people that want to party lol Just not perfect for a quiet vacay but for people looking for a fun and crazy time it is perfect !

Great Little Shopping Area

By Lynntravels83 |

This establishment has a wonderful, enclosed shopping area offering an assortment of unique items from tiles, to tableware to imported chocolates. I really enjoyed browsing and shopping here. Perfect for gifts!

Great food, great staff!

By KCHdove |

This is by far one of THE BEST Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. I've had their chicken soup, and chile rellenos plate (which includes rice and beans). It is admittedly not cheap to eat here, but it is sooo worth it! You will want to come back (we did!).

Great margaritas

By ColleenQD |

I went to Old Town San Diego with some out of town family members and we stopped in Fiesta de Reyes for lunch. We sat outside under heaters and listened to live mariachi as we dined on fresh salsa, warm chips, and excellent margaritas! It’s a very busy place (lots of tourists I’d imagine) but it’s not your typical tourist trap to avoid. The food was good, authentic Mexican, the ambiance festive and I’ll certainly return.

Great place to enjoy a nice Mexican food

By moniqueashbrook |

We took our nephew for lunch, this place is fun with good food and great service. We felt as we're in Mexico. Outside seating was great during a warm afternoon.

Authentic Mexican food in Old Town San Diego

By alex a |

This place has a great atmosphere, and great food. You don't need to go to Mexico to experience it's culture. The decor, the music and the service is wonderful. The margaritas are delicious. Food prices are very reasonable. The fact that this place is in Old Town makes it even more attractive as you can experience the Old West when you walk out of it. Highly Recommended.

Good for an lunch

By Mike G |

Lots going on live dancing and displays. Varied dinning and options free peanuts given out on arrival.

wonderful convention party

By Dan5662 |

The conference that I attended sponsored a closing party. The margaritas were quite nice and the buffet was delicious. This establishment is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

GREAT ATMOSPHERE

By LANDY31 |

Good service reasonably priced and great atmosphere. Even thugh it can get very busy the flow of food more than passes the time as the band plays on. have to try the margaritas!!

Very Lively atmosphere all around

By Deepak Gupta |

I visited this place as part of my San Diego tour with my family. We stopped here for dinner (based on suggestion from one of my friend and I'm truly thankful for her suggestion) It was very lively atmosphere all around. There are few local shops and few very good restaurants. There was live music and people were dancing and what not. Loved the overall arena. The food (sea food) was also good.

Just stopped for margeritas and guacamole

By Janet M |

While visiting old town San Diego we enjoyed the shopping, history and visit. On our way out we stopped for margaritas and guacamole, husband enjoyed tacos too! Great staff,, mariachi band roaming while all enjoyed. This place was a great treat after shopping the. Shops and enjoying the history and tourist sites.

Tourist Trap

By KendraTravels |

This is one of the bigger restaurants in Old Town San Diego. It's such a tourist trap. The food looks good but it's awful and it's extremely overpriced. I had the carne asada tacos (corn tortillas). The meat was cold and there was so much grease on the tortillas I didn't eat them. I literally had to eat some of the meat out of the taco with a fork. The rice was hard and cold. The beans were the only thing on the plate worth eating. I spent so much money on a terrible experience. Skip this place!

Almost like mexico

By doris n |

It is a courtyard setting with heaters if needed.Great food and service.Very nice surroundings. Servings are large, we split the Fajitas dish and it was plenty for two people.

Good Enough

By Joanne R |

I brought my family and friends here on Memorial Day weekend for lunch. I usually eat at another restaurant in Old Town but decided to try this one because of its outdoor festive ambience. I remember ordering Mar Y Tierra, shrimp ceviche, virgin mojito and the kids quesadilla (could not recall the orders of my friends). The kids meal is at 6.99 plus tax and includes milk. I asked if we can replace it with juice but got an explanation regarding California regulation stating that kids’ meals inclusive of drink should not contain sugar so it can only be milk or water or flavored water with less than 130 calories. Despite being a California resident this took me by surprise but research online verified this specific law. So it is either water or hormone infused milk. I wish they had fresh/pure fruit juices which do not require sugar but they do not offer it in their menu. Since my kid is intolerant of fresh whole milk I ordered their kiddie beverage for sale at 2.75 ——- a very sweet strawberry blended drink (artificial, of course ). As was normal for my kid, she drank only 1/8th of the beverage since she only gets juice less than five times in a month so she is not used to it. But it is a treat for her in lieu of a high sugar/high carb dessert and this lunch was a special occasion. Anyway, the first food attendant was male and was not as friendly and warm as the female attendant who took over. The food was good enough, I guess. The choices were not as plenty as the other Mexican restaurant in Old Town that I prefer (and my preferred restaurant never charges for kids’ meals and they offer fresh fruit juice that is sugar free). So needless to say, Fiesta de Reyes was good just for the experience but in terms of quality, service and comfort I would stick to my preferred tried and tested restaurant in Old Town.

Average food

By Lela429 |

We waited 45 minutes for a table at 3pm on a Wednesday. Once seated we waited for 10 minutes before someone came and gave us menus. Once we ordered the waitress was very helpful, she was also very busy. The food was okay nothing special and also a little pricey but this is old town. We had fun.

No Complaints

By AzSummerrose |

This restaurant has good atmosphere with outdoor dining, good food and good margaritas. The area has a number of shops to browse in before and after you eat.

Go elsewhere....

By neopren666 |

Bland food and catch tourists! Dishes not presented and unappetizing. Fast Service but very expensive for what it is. Limiting hygiene when you see how they serve nachos and sauce.

Watch out for bones in chicken rolled tacos

By Sunny3643 |

Beware of the chicken rilled tacos there was a bone in my taco I almost chocked on small bone and they did not deduct from my bill

Great place to have a peaceful lunch!!

By Charleigh H |

This place is awesome!!! It has a great open area, service is good food is great and kids are super entertained with the live band and dancers!! We had a great time and enjoyed or food. Prices are good not expensive and the ambiance is perfect for family, dating, etc!!!

Ok

By JanAshby |

Portions of the restaurant are outside which is nice but the birds are all over the place. Including the clean tables. And on the plates and tables waiting to be cleared. If you are germ conscious then this is not for you. Food was good except for the grilled shrimp tacos. Many of the shrimp still had the shells on them which made them a little difficult to eat. Other than the shells they were good. The guacamole was suggested for the chips and salsa so we ordered it. It was good but was surprised the small bowl was $10. A tad pricey for how much we got. I did order a margarita which was great and I thought it was $10 but ended up being $14. We would not go back since there are many other restaurants to chose from.

Cool environment, slow service and average food

By Ellie M |

I went here for a business meeting recently. I felt that the environment was really neat, as there were little shops in the small complex, and shows were being performed live as I walked around. However, the food was average and the beverages were a little over priced. A decent place for a group business meeting but I feel like there are better Mexican restaurants in the area.

Gorgeous setting....

By Lovey602 |

We enjoyed the atmosphere, it was a nice beautiful Sunday spent in OLD TOWN San Diego. The music was great, alcohol was served also.

Relaxing mother & daughter lunch

By Sue M |

My daughter and I enjoyed excellent service and a delicious lunch while in Old Town, San Diego. Tables are arranged outside under the shade of elegant trees. We highly recommend Fiesta de Reyes for any meal. The staff is very attentive and the food is beyond compare. Through the years we've had the opportunity to dine at many Mexican restaurants, and this establishment had the best tasting food we've ever tasted. There is free entertainment in the form of colorfully dressed folks dancing to live music, and adorable shops all around the restaurant area. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in Old Town. Well worth the trip!

A TEXAN IN OLD TOWN SAN DIEGO

By Hart |

My goodness gracious. These people have an attitude. A bad attitude. My party of six walked in and requested a table. The hostess, without speaking, motioned us to the back half of the restaurant. Her only words were "someone will be with you in a moment". We waited, we waited, we waited, etc. etc, etc.. Finally I flagged a passing wait staff person down and asked if we could have some water. I was met with a terse "this is not my table". Not This is not my table but Ill send someone, just "this is not my table". On my second attempt to get service I was met by an equally unfriendly server who after making it very clear that again this was hot one of their tables, did promise to see that my party would get water. Now; fifteen minutes later, still no water, still no server. At this point I spied an individual that appeared to be some sort of management type. I asked the person if he was perhaps the MOD, he answered, yes. I explained the whole situation in detail. His response was, " I'll attend to it immediately". About ten minutes later an obviously irritated wait person showed up and asked what they could for us. "Water; can we please have some water". That persons response "yes". Ten minutes later, no water. By this time, obviously, it had become a game that my party was willing to play out to the end. Now, at this point, the last server to promise water just happened to pass by. I managed to get that person to stop just long enough for me to say "water???". The response was "they have to bring it from the back". Well; how far from the back? Was there some mysterious secret well out back of the restraint? Was the well guarded by hostile Elves that parceled out water one spoonful at a time? Well by this time we had been siting in the afternoon sun for an hour, no water, no server who would actually claim responsibility for servicing our table, so we surrendered, and left the restraint. One important note: the person who was Manager On Duty, Was standing just fifteen feet from our table during the majority of this fiasco and made no further attempt to help or correct the problem.

Great Mexican food and drinks!

By Buzzsaw22 |

Nice outdoor area in the old quarter that serves great Mexican food. Plus you can keep the drink glasses for a few dollars more. You get plenty of food to eat and enjoy great drinks.
