Another terrific meal at Fiorino this place is consistently good. Dined outside cafe tables just like Italy!

Had a wonderful meal here this past Saturday night. Such a quaint neighborhood restaurant, great service and delicious food. We each had terrific salads (Gorgonzola and Caesar). I had the eggplant special and my husband had a chicken dish...so good! The cannoli was out of this world! Will return again and again! And since it's a byob, the price was also great! Highly recommend!

There were 6 of us - 3 couples. We came with enough wine! What a night! Love the fact that eating here feels like eating in someone's living room - but eating the most homely delicious food with such a nice atmosphere. We had so much fun. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly staff. Excellent service. We can't wait to be back!

I have never had a bad meal here. They start you with a complimentary plate of bruschetta for the table, then bring some excellent, crusty Italian bread with the best dipping sauce I've ever had. The menu has numerous excellent items, including a fabulous Tagliatelle (with Bolognese) dish that I love. The Branzino is excellent, too. Don't forget the appetizers. I recommend the Caprese with the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. Make sure you save room for dessert, too! Their cannolis are out of this world!!!

I can't say anything bad about this place after we had dinner. The food was amazing and the service was great as well. The waiter knew how many were in our party and immediately seated us, if you go on the weekends I definitely advise on making a reservation because by the time we left around 8 there was a line outside the door. They brought us bruschetta for the table and then we got the Capresse which was amazing. I got the scallops which the only complaint I had was there wasn't a lot (6 scallops) but what I got was great. My girlfriend got the chicken saltimbocca which was very good and the portion size was pretty big for that. Overall I would recommend at least trying this place once and I know we will be back again.

Visiting my home town from DC. I went for a celebratory lunch after a house settlement. Brought a lovely Chardonnay which went perfectly with the Adriatic salad...grilled shrimp, calamari, scallops on mixed greens. Very quiet, unlike weekends when totally jammed. My lunch partner had the homemade ravioli-stunning

Been here twice and each time the meal was fabulous. The home made pasta is as good as I have ever eaten. There are always a couple specials that are truly that, special. Wife had lamb chops that were cooked perfectly, eggplant rollintini was terrific. Even the deserts are excellent by the way, it's BYOB.

Often eat at Fiorino. Tucked in a local neighborhood corner you would drive right by in Indian Queen Lane and never see it except for the outside light and the nice corner windows. Last time went with 2 couples. As always this is BYOB and we bring a lot of B's. Never an issue. Started with the eggplant rollintini which is always good, and my wife had arugula with beets, excellent all around. My main was a filet, which I don't usually get here but we had some incredible cab sauv and I did not want to waste that on a lighter dish. Steak was awesome, my buddy had the same. My wife had lamb chops which she said were amazing. Love coming back to the friendly staff, the BYOB service and the excellent food. Can be a little noisy inside but this doesn't bother us too much. Parking can be a challenge so make sure you carpool there.

Squeezed into a table for two. This is a fun, quirky neighborhood place with very good food. The atmosphere is tight, and you sit very close to the people next to you. The food is made to order, so relax and go with the flow. The service is attentive.

11/26/2014 Fiorino is a wonderful little neighborhood hideaway tucked away in an isolated part of East Falls. I give this place a 4.25. Had a wonderful dinner with a large group. We tried a dozen or more apps, 9 entrees and 9 desserts. Everything was flavorful, fresh and delicious. Pastas are homemade, the gnocchi in gorgonzola is terrific. The veal was tender and appetizing. Many of the desserts are also home made. Our lunch with friends was also quite good. The spaghetti scoglio (pasta with shellfish) was delicious. The limoncello marscapone cake was fantastic. Our server at lunch was a bit aloof and not very friendly. He didn't detract from the meal but also didn't add to it. Fiorino is just one of those neighborhood gems found in any city.

In the area on business....someone recommended Fiorino. We were a group of 5....and I was surprised it was only a little place. It's in a neighborhood so parking is tough to find. We got apps....Calamari and Caprese Salad...both were very good...but portions were not that great. Its a BYOB so we brought on own wine. Salads were good...and they had a nice dressing to go with it. There were several specials...2 of us opted for the shrimp and scallops in a nice sauce. I would recommend this dish. others got Italian dishes and really enjoyed their meals We all got Cannolis for desert and they were real tasty with a little whipped cream and dab of caramel on the plate. Great little spot in Philly...give it a try

There for a business luncheon. What a great Italian restaurant. Everything from service to the magnificent food. The Spinach Ravioli was so fresh and delicious. Eggplant roll parm was made to perfection. Our guests has salmon salad and it looked fresh and delicious. Can't forget the cream of chicken soup. Would love to have taken some home! The Bruschetta served before hand was so fresh and tasty. Can't say enough about this wonderful little establishment. We were early for lunch and as the place started to get busy, they made a point of turning up the ceiling fan for comfort.

When two Frenchmen visit an Italian restaurant trouble is in the air... Always hopeful, yet often disappointed, we like "the real thing", not a mere interpretation of "la cucina italiana". Our lunch was an absolute delight! The atmosphere and service were very warm. The food was "lip-licking", an expression I learned long ago from a Philadelphian... The mussels marinara were the best I had eaten in a while. The gorgonzola gnocchi got my cholesterol jumping to the roof, yet I could have enjoyed some more! The chocolate mousse was just like "ma mama used to make" (only ma mama is Alsatian and chocolate mousse was never her forte). BYOB, a $34.00 luncheon à la carte... My friend is gluten-free and had a great meal too. Superb!

Our second visit. Tuna carpaccio, mussels marina, arugula and the beet salads all very good. The Branzino was smaller then I remembered from our last visit a year ago but with the crab and sauce was nice. Franco's saltimbocca and spaghetti scoglio good but lacked something? The tiramisu has changed. I liked it better last year. Overall, we would probably go back again, next time we are in Philly.

A true gem. Food was terrific. Great service. Worth going out of your way for. Next time in Philly - we are making a stop at Fiorino!

I walked down the side walk and up to the restaurant where folks were dining outdoors. My husband dropped me off as parking was at a premium. Curb side. Brush up on your parrelle parking! When I opened the door I smiled. Pretty, crowded, noisy but I smiled as folks were happily chatting. The owner at wait staff, all men were very busy. The menu offered I wide selection. I suggest perusing the menu before you go. This will save time. The pace of service is so that you can visit with your table mates and enjoy your BYOB. Food was delish. I will go back. Thank you

We first went to Fiorino's after coming back home from a Mediterranean cruise and spending extra time in Rome and Civitavecchia.. Our first visit, it was almost as if we were back in Italy. The branzino, Mediterranean sea bass is delicious! The lamb is tender and succulent, and the salads are fresh. We have been back a few times since the first visit, and we've never been disappointed. The service is good, and owner usually stops the table to make sure customers are satisfied. Fiorino's is a BYOB tucked away in a residential neighborhood in East Falls. It's best to make a reservations. The place has been full every time we've gone.

For some unknown reason, I hadn't made it to Fiorino in East Falls until last week. But I'll be going back again and again. Relaxing efficient service, accessible menu and everything we tasted was outstanding. Mussels with white beans was a nice touch, the pork chop was perfect and desserts were good. Just a nice feel, with all the right touches........bruschetta for starters and a nice nightcap as well. We got lucky with parking...which I suspect could get tricky, but I loved it all.. The night was cold, the vibe inside was warm. Can't wait to return

Feels like my Mom's home, tastes like my Mom's food. Warms the heart as well as the belly! Perfect pasta, meats magnifico, delicioso desserts!

Fiorino is a monthly stop for my wife and me. From the complimentary bruschetta to the always excellent entrees, the meal never disappoints. Service is excellent - just the right level of attention. Dining room is small, but cozy. Sidewalk seating is great when the weather is nice. Parking can be a tough, but a lot at the nearby playhouse is occasionally available. Reservations are usually necessary. Great work, Chef Franco and crew. (BYOB)

Fiorino lets you feel as if you're in Italy enjoying the best of the best. We went on the hottest night of the year, and although the air conditioning wasn't as powerful as we would have liked, this packed little gem cooled us with its charm and outstanding food. Several salads were greeted with "yum's" and our dinners, ranging from eggplant rollatini to veal to other pasta dishes, were outstanding. Prices are terrific and it's a BYOB. Who could ask for more?

Fiorino is a neighborhood Italian BYOB occupying the front room of a row house in East Falls. The food is excellent and the staff is very enthusiastic and welcoming. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dish. The gnocchi got a great review as did the pork chops. I had a quibble with the scallops: they were delicious but the dish consisted only of 5 scallops surrounding a small mound of spinach. It just wasn't enough of a meal. It would have cost virtually nothing to add in a portion of pasta to fill out the meal. We started with complimentary, and delicious, bruschetta. And we finished with a fabulous Bomba, a delicious chocolate ice cream concoction. Two downsides: parking is difficult and the noise level is very high. Reservations are essential.

The restaurant is small but intimate. The food is authentic. Having grown up in Rome Italy, I was so pleased to eat great food that reminded me of many wonderful meals in Italy. The tomato sauces that Franco makes are so tasty and simply made as done in Italy. I complimented the waiter and he invited me into the kitchen to speak with Franco the chef. He was so friendly. Try their gnocchi which are made daily. I had the veal Franco which was excellent- the veal was so soft that I could cut it with a fork. Desert was amazing- Creme Brulè done as it should! Can't wait to return.

So happy to have found this restaurant. BYOB and there is no corking fee. Small and intimate feel, it did get pretty loud. Perfect spot for a special birthday dinner, a date, or a place to take your in-laws. The menu has a variety of items but isn’t overwhelming. The presentation was thoughtful. Service felt European. In the background not in your face checking in all the time. I’m just visiting Philly but would go out of my way to come here again if I visit again.

Driving home from work at 7 p.m. thinking about cooking chicken for dinner, and suddenly decided to eat out. Called Fiorino at 7 p.m., and they had one small table left just big enough for me. Had a bottle of a red Malbec reserve which previously was excellent. Ordered the chicken involtini, hold the potatoes, veggies and a side of spaghetti. Let me tell you; that was a delectable meal. Being satisfied after a long day at the office is a five star event. Thanks Franco!

Tucked away on a small street in the East Falls district of Philadelphia is this sweet restaurant reminiscent of small town Italy. The food is excellent. The service outstanding. The ambience lovely and welcoming. My sister and I were celebrating her b'day. We started off with tuna carpaccio and grilled calamari -- both sophisticated, tasty and beautifully presented. We followed with pork medallions with roasted root veggies and a grilled seafood platter containing scallops, shrimp, crab, flounder, and calamari. Each delectable morsel was cooked to perfection. Servers were attentive, not interrupting our conversation yet somehow magically keeping our glasses full. And I love it when they wait until each person is finished eating to clear a plate instead of swooping in to 'get this out of your way.'. I can't say enough laudatory things about Fiorino. It's BYOB, so the cost is kept down in that domain. Go there, you won't be sorry.

Wow. We had a wonderful dinner at this neighborhood small restaurant and left the place delighted. The calamari was a perfect appetizer: grilled with a light combination of tomatoes, capers, and olives. The Branzino was perfectly cooked and so was the pork chop. Service was perfect, in Italian.

No frills... the real thing. Traditional Italian Cuisine executed flawlessly. The restaurant is the size of my living room and that's another reason why I and my group of friends enjoyed it so much. The mussels and cannellini beans were absolutely delicious. The grilled calamari ... exceptionally tender, perfectly seasoned. The pasta mista was al dente and sauced just right. The bread, there's no better bread around town. The chef/owner hit the nail right on the head with warm ambiance and genuine hospitality. I don't particularly enjoy dining in BYO restaurants because I find it inconvenient to stop and grab a bottle on the way, but Fiorino was certainly worth the extra step. I tip my hat and to Chef Faggi for a truly memorable evening and an exquisite meal. Try it!

Wonderful authentic Italian food with attentive and friendly service. A true gem in East Falls. The pastas are superb, the fish is great, and save room for dessert. You might consider using a ride share as parking is challenging as this great restaurant is in a residential neighborhood.

An excellent local dining experience in East Falls. Food is great, service OK and prices reasonable.

This is the kind of restaurant that is really for locals which you as a visitor can not loose. Service is great and food is amazing. BYOB to add. 10.

We have dined here several times and have never been disappointed. From the moment you arrive until you leave, you feel like family. The food is authentic , always fresh and great variety. Our favorite menu items are app (grilled calamari), pasta (gnocchi gorgonzola & tagliatelle bolognese), entree ( branzino, eggplant rollatini, stuffed pork chop), desert ( chocolate bomba, tiramisu & limoncello). We have celebrated intimate anniversaries and family get togethers and have thoroughly enjoyed every dinner thanks to the expertise of Franco & Biaggio.

One of the best and freshest Italian meals I've had in the area. Visited on a Friday night with a friend. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. We were given complimentary bruschetta which was a wonderful touch. We ordered the caprese salad as a starter, and were both amazed by the tomatoes. They were so red and SO fresh, I've never tasted a better tomato. We even asked our server who said they special order them from one farmer, I believe out of New Jersey. Following, we both ordered the Gorgonzola gnocchi which was the best we have had. The gnocchi were cooked so perfectly and the sauce was thick and flavorful. Will definitely be returning.

Go to Fiorino and you will not be disappointed! Located in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, Chef Franco has opened a modest little eatery (BYOB) that serves up wonderful plates in a cute atmosphere. Parking is tight, so be prepared. And use your GPS to find it; it's tucked away in a neighborhood where no restaurant has ever gone. Whatever you do, don't use Google maps from the Main Line-baaaad directions! Back to my review. If you don't order the gnocchi (you can get it as an appetizer) you will be missing the most ethereal of gnocchi ever. I speared some off my friend's plate and was sorry when the waiter took it away with some left in the dish. If short ribs are a special of the evening, don't even hesitate. Three succulent ribs that melt in your mouth is the best way to describe them. My hubby had the scallops which he announced were wonderful. The menu has something for everyone-pasta, veal, vegetables, etc. Service was attentive, but unobtrusive. All in all, a delightful dining experience was had by all. Make reservations! There are only about 11 tables which fill up quickly. Enjoy!!!

This is a small Italian BYOB in a Philly neighborhood with a generous menu and delicious dishes. You can't go wrong, but make a reservation!

Hidden gem. Authentic delicious and filling , it’s like eating at Nonna’s house. One of my favorite restaurants with amazing food, great service for a reasonable price. Had a veal dish with spinach and garlic side. Amazing. With the lemoncello cake, which was not too sweet or overpowering. Perfectly light and delightful lemon cloud cake was an exceptional end to a tasty and filling meal. Must have reservation.

It is well deserving of it's #3 rating and I am glad it is in my neighborhood! From start to finish, with their bread, meal, and dessert, it is hard to beat this place!

Tiny Italian restaurant in a neighborhood. If you don't live within walking distance, be prepared to drive in circles for a parking spot - better yet, take a cab. Definitely make a reservation. If you have been to Italy - Fiorino will transport you back. Tables are close, people can be loud, service is personable (as in they will treat you like family) - food is the real deal. It's also BYOB so tuck a couple bottles of wine under your arm and enjoy the evening. (Don't be surprised if you have to wait a while even if you have a reservation - they are not going to tell anyone there time is up just to turn over a table - so relax and your time will come.)

Make reservations because this place is worth it and tiny. We made reservations on a Monday night and were glad we did. They were able to seat two walk-ins but everyone else had reservations. We had the gorgonzola salad, perfect for Fall. Then I had the veal marsala with a side of spaghetti with the marsala sauce. My husband had the cheese ravioli. Both were delicious. We shared a tiramisu for dessert which was just okay. Remember it's BYOB, you'll need it after the GPS sends you on a scurrilous route of one way narrow streets through East Falls. Parking is in the street.

Absolutely a taste of Italy in East Falls. Worth the difficult parking. Must have reservations for dinner. Lunch no reservations required. Every time I'm in the Philly area I make a point of going. Daily specials are awesome. It is a BYOB establishment so don't forget the wine. If you are gluten free or not get the Eggplant special it is incredible. They don't always tell you about it but they always have it.

This is a labor of love. A tiny (about 10 tables) Italian restaurant, a bit away from downtown and a bit old fashioned. It is owned by the chef, a native of Bologna, totally devoted to his calling. Authentic Italian food, trattoria style. High quality, freshness, careful, expert preparation, and pleasing presentation. A menu of classic and familiar dishes. Prompt and professional service. The clientele is composed predominantly of neighborhood folks, many are regulars and know each other. It is a place for couples, friends and families. Reservations are essential. On a recent evening, not a seat was empty by 7:30, and several parties without reservations were turned away. Bring your own libation. Prices are reasonable.

Had a lovely evening with friends. Great ambiance, wonderful food, good service. Neighborhood is tight so parking may be a challenge. BYOB. Casual attire.

Thanks to trip advisor, my family found this hidden gem. The four of us each got a different meal and shared. Each were unique and delicious. Veal, egg plant, gnocchi, shrimp and beans, perfectly grilled calamari. Out of this world marinara and bread. Oh, and the cappuccino was delicious. They do not serve wine but allow you to bring your own. Small and quaint---call ahead to get table/time. Be nice and be flexible, they certainly are. Thank you trip advisor for this find and to Fiorino for a special night!

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor for a special luncheon. While its rating as #3 in Philadelphia is probably a somewhat excessive result of computer algorithms, the food was uniformly very good. The menu is Italian. The elderly waiter could have been less abrupt. Finding it requires a GPS, and parking can be quite a challenge.

My wife and I try to get to Fiorino at least a couple of times a month. The menu generally has several meat and fish entrees as well as several pasta choices. It is a very small restaurant so reservations are a must and parking is tight. The service is outstanding and the owner tries to stop by every table to ensure the diners are happy with the food and service. Some of our favorites are: Caprese salad, super fresh tomatoes with outstanding olive oil, antipasto, mixed green salad with apples, gorgonzola and balsamic reduction. Tagliatelle bolognese which can be done as an app or entree is the best I have ever eaten. Grilled bronzino(special), scallops, chicken involtini, veal marsala and Franco;s saltimboca. His specials like the bronzino are always great. Prices, food and service can't be beat.

Stopped here for lunch last month after reading other good reviews and we were not disappointed. It is a small neighborhood restaurant that appears to be owned by a gentleman from Italy who I believe does the cooking. We both ordered pasta dishes that were presented well and tasted homemade, which is my preference when eating Italian food. Warm bread was brought out with olive oil beforehand. Highly recommend.

Our friends treated us to a delightful meal this evening. We started with calamari apps along with tomato & mozzarella and the tasty pasta fagoli soup. All wonderful. Three of us enjoyed the branzino and the spaghetti and clams also sooo tasty. At least a dozen clams over pasta al dente Great deserts and coffee. Super service. Will be back.

Fiorina is a small corner eatery on narrow side street in the East Falls neighborhood. You would be hard pressed to find better Italian food than what Chef Franco Faggi prepares. The menu has a lot of standard Italian fare - meat, fish, pasta - and there are always a few interesting specials. At our last meal, we had branzino, chicken piccata & veal saltimbocca. All good. If you’re not full after your entree, the desserts are nice. Just two things to consider. Parking is on street and scarce. You may be challenged If you’re from the burbs and to not used to parallel parking on the small, hilly streets of East Falls. The restaurant is one small room that seats about 30, so if you’re Covid nervous, you may feel uncomfortable. The warmer months are a whole different story, as there are a number of tables outside across the side street next to the old church. I uploaded a photo. I am still Covid shy and a middling parallel parker, but neither is enough to keep me away from Fiorino. Just a wonderful place.

This place was a find for me on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. We dropped the kids off at a concert at the Mann Music Center and headed over to Fiorino's. We made a reservation and were glad we did. It filled out completely on a Thursday night. The food was delicious. They started us off with free bruschetta appetizer which was great. I had the salmon dish which was also wonderfully prepared. All of my group were happy with their meals. It is BYOB. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food that's reasonably priced.

My wife and I and another couple visited Fiorino for dinner. We got there early, which was good because its a small place. By the time we left, many people were waiting for a seat. I had the Veal Marsala from the main menu with the gorgonzola salad. Both were prepared nicely. The salad was excellent. My wife had the eggplant rolandini from the daily menu and they offered to prepare it as an appetizer because she also wanted to try the scallops. Again, both were very pleasing. The scallops were plated very nicely and were cooked perfectly. Our friends shared the arugula salad and the seafood special. They seemed to enjoy them as well. The restaurant is not easy to find on a small side street and parking is not readily available because they are surrounded by residential housing.

An intimate restaurant with excellent food…BYOB We had the special, a bronzino topped with excellent crabmeat. The house salad had a fine oil and vinegar dressing and nicely crisp lettuce of several varieties. We went early and the restaurant was quiet, but became quite lively later during the meal. A truly yummy ice cream bombe for dessert and espresso. The reviews said parking might be a problem, but there were plenty of spaces. (Our GPS had some trouble finding the site, since it was one-way off Ridge Avenue and a circuitous path through old streets to get there) All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is very good. but the noise level in this small space was much too high. It was very hard to hold a conversation since we could not hear each other. Tables are very close together and crowded. IN addition no one came over during dinner to see if we wanted more water or needed anything

I've heard great things for over a year and finally got to go! We went on a double date and ordered so much food. I got to try so many menu items. Each item was fresh and delicious. The preparation seemed to keep things simple and the flavors were just incredible. I can't wait to go back!

This restaurant is very small in size but very big in excellent food and good service. It is BYOB. Very busy must have reservations. Parking is a challenge, but it is worth it!

We had a fabulous family dinner at Fiorino. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. The bronzino and the choc chip cannoli were standouts - great coffee too. They even opened early specially for us as we needed to make a show. Thanks so much Fiorino!

The owner is there and runs a tight ship. Serious food here. Knowledgeable waiter, efficient service and amazing food. Fresh, homemade pasta ( Meat sauce really good) and delightful fish and chicken. A small neighborhood place like the kind you would find in Europe, small and local but competes with the fanciest of restaurants for sheer quality of preparation and ingredients. Really a stunningly good restaurant.-Just don't forget to bring your own wine,

The food was incredibly fresh, with a minimalist flare. No heavy entrees, the filet was done perfectly, and I tasted my partners fish whiich was done perfectly. The grilled calamari was excellent. Such a wonderful change from fried calamari. Looking forward to my next visit. The atmosphere was warm, and had such a wonderful cozy feel with just one room to dine, with a large front window which looked onto the charming street. The service was excellent. We never felt rushed.

Food just a notch below Vetri at a fraction of the price. I really hope people don’t catch onto this place because I love coming here!

Everything in this restaurant is superb, from the awesome food to the attentive and professional staff. There is something for everyone- pasta ,fish, vegetarian options. Wish I could eat there every night of the week!!! Have been coming here for years

Special family luncheon to celebrate the baptism of our youngest. Wonderful meal served by the owner and staff who made us all feel like family. A rare gem.

Six of us were delighted by our experience. Our server, was extremely knowledgable as well as enthusiastic and friendly. An appetizer of gnocchi was delicious in a cream sauce. Calamari was prepared very well and was easy to share. Mi Sins included branzino which was well received, shrimp and beans and spaghetti and clams. All excellent. We tried to settle on three desserts but had to add a fourth. The bomba was our favorite.

We went for lunch and had the whole place to ourselves. Ordered a Portobello mushroom with mozzarella cheese melted over, tasted great. Soups were very good made from scratch making them chunky and hearty. Will definitely go again when back in the area.

We would have never suspected to find a restuarant in this area and we were wondering whether we didn't get lost. But... no! Set in a residential neighborhood, Fiorino was one of those places where we felt at home. And quite obviously so did the other guests. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the unpretentious food. This is not a place where you'll be told the chef marinated the meat in the juice of young grapefruits picked precisely at midnight and kept in an incubator before they were squeezed by mermaids.... No, this is a place where you know what you're eating because it tastes like it's supposed to taste. Simple is good. And simple can be very sophisticated. Grab your own bottle and head to Fiorino to relax and enjoy a great meal.

Went with wife and cousins. Had good Caesar salad while others had good vegetable soup. Had branzino for dinner while wife and one cousin had eggplant rollitini, which they both loved. BYOB which I love. Very small place and hard to get into, but worth the effort.

My wife and I were in town and invited a nephew for dinner and found this place near our hotel. This place is simply amazing. Very cozy. We ordered a seafood pasta and the Tagliatelle which were both excellent, but the lamb chops was the plate of the night. the Tiramisu was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant..

Grazie mille to my good friend, who treated me to a birthday lunch at Fiorino, an out of the way Italian bistro in the little-known East Falls neighborhood of Philly. With appropriately faded ambiance & opera music in the background, the cuisine is authentic & the pasta cooked to perfection, thus transporting diners directly & delightfully to Northern Italy.

We had a great mid week meal with the girls in this cozy Italian BYOB in the East Falls section of Philadelphia. The service & food were excellent. I had the branzini and my friend had the veal saltimbocca. Loved that we were not at all rushed. Of course it was a Wed., not not sure how things are on a Saturday night. Parking is a challenge in this section of Philly, however if you live nearby, you need to try Fiorino.

With so many restaurants in Philly, we relied once again on TripAdvisor to point us in a direction when we were meeting some friends for dinner who were in from overseas recently. As usual, the ratings of Fiorino as a great place to eat were spot on. This is one of those restaurants that you would probably drive by without more than a second glance. It's a quaint place with a small dining room, maybe 20 tables and parking is not easy, but so worth it. Brushetta was complimentary and arrived first- very tasty. We all ordered salads-I had the caprese and it was perfection. Creamy, sliced mozzarella with just a hint of salt and tomatoes that were perfectly ripe and deep red in color- I would go back just for this! The other three in our party had the caesar salad and said it was very good. For the first time ever, we all ordered the same entree- it was a house special, Bronzini, which is a Mediterranean sea bass. Perfectly cooked with pieces of lump crab meat on top. None of us left even a scrap on our plates, it was that good. We also ordered a side of their bolognese with fettuccine which was delicious also. No desserts as we were full, but we did order cappuccinos and they were great. We will definitely be back.

Thank you TripAdvisor for helping us find this neighborhood gem. It was the highlight of our trip to Philadelphia. It is such a charming place and the food is, without a doubt, the best Italian food we have ever had. We had the tuna carpaccio, which was fresh and amazing. My husband had the gnocci gorgonzola and I had the spaghetti scoglio. Both were delicious. I have never tasted such light and fluffy gnocci. The seafood in my spaghetti scoglio was plentiful and tender and the broth was perfect. Dessert was tiramisu and lemon sorbet, which was a standout with its presentation inside of a hollowed-out lemon. The chef found my husband on his way back from the restroom to ask if we were enjoying our food. Yes, oh, yes! The service was also outstanding. We will be back!

Scallops - 4 star Lamb chops - 3.5 star appetizers - 4 star This is a very small place, so try to call for rezzys. Little neighborhood, so parking may take 1-3 blocks of walking. Staff is very accommodating. BYOB -- but sometimes staff can help. Nowhere near by to purchase wine, etc.

We had our annual holiday luncheon here and it was just as good as the last time. Fresh, tasty food. And the service was very good. Helpful and attentive. I would recommend it and would return in the future.

Italian food can be better. Bread was served cold and hard. Server was unfriendly and did not even come to ask if we need anything during our meal, and would not respond to us trying to call him. It was too pricey for what it was.

Nasty miserable head waiter. He should not be in the hospitality business. Ruins my meals. Never going to this trattoria again. The owner is aware but tolerates this unacceptable behavior.

Had the pleasure of dining here sat evening their were six of us this visit all had different entrees all great. Service was top notch as usual and the place was hopping! Biagio took good care of us and Franco stopped by the table several times.

I think the food here is 5-star. But after eating there on a Saturday night, think the talking reverberating off of the ceiling and walls is too much to handle. I could not wait to leave because the noise was that painful. My dinner guests agreed. Some kind of sound baffling on the ceiling or walls is greatly needed here -- before I could eat there again.

Loved this little neighborhood (literally) restaurant. It was a total find from stay at nearby Marriott Courtyard. It is in the middle of residential East Falls neighborhood. Authentic Italian food. Service was excellent and food delicious. They started us with complementary bruschetta and full bread basket with homemade red pepper/tomato dipping sauce. We started with house salad, basic but very good balsamic dressing. Had Ravioli which were homemade and fresh. Fish special of Branzino with crab meat was tasty. I will say the portions were not huge probably because you are meant to order multiple courses but were enough for us. For dessert we has homemade sorbet and a delicious chocolate mousse cake. The restaurant started filling as we were leaving and reservations are recommended. We were early bird eaters as going to concert so had no trouble getting in. The waiter who seemed like he was also the owner clearly knew his other customers so definitely had the neighborhood vibe. Would highly recommend and will be back on our next visit to Philly.

Not sure what others are seeing. Atmosphere was extremely cramped, and LOUD. Food was very old style Italian. Dessert was the highlight. I'd choose somewhere else to spend $100.

We visited Fiorino for dinner with friends. It is a cozy restaurant with a real home style feeling. We were served bruschetta to start and we had the calamari and brassiola for starters. I had the Bronzino and it was excellent, a nice fillet. My wife also had the Bronzino and agreed it was really excellent. It is as good as what you get in Europe, where it is caught right off the coast in the Mediterranean. We had no room for dessert, but the dessert menu was extensive. The restaurant is BYOB, and they open the bottles as soon as you are ready. Service was great and the food was brought out when we were ready. Definitely would go back and I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is one of our favorite restaurants of all time - small, quiet, romantic, BYOB, authentic Italian. We love everything about this restaurant and we just spent our Valentine's Day dinner here.......each course was fantastic. We've never had a bad meal here - not even an "off" appetizer or dessert. Everything is fresh and wonderful. I've left a few pictures of one of our appetizers, main courses and dessert tonight. It is a little bit of a drive for us, but well worth it. You will never be disappointed here.

Our daughter just moved from West Philly to East Falls, so we celebrated by looking for a local restaurant to try and enjoy. Fiorino did not disappoint! A small but lively (often loud) dining room; BYOB; fantastic food. The 4 of us enjoyed a mix of items from their regular menu (grilled calamari was very nice), as well as their specials for the night (Eggplant rollitini and homemade tortelloni were excellent). A very nice evening and friendly staff. Look forward to visiting again!

We visited this evening for my husband's birthday. It has a great vibe. Small, intimate and outstanding food and service. Loved everything about Fiorino. We will return!

This is a well known but tough to get to restaurant in East Falls still in phila...table seating is 10 tables, so reservations are probably a must on a weekend night. The service is slow because there was only one server taking orders. Having said that, the food was excellent. I had veal saltimboca, my wife had the house made ravioli..Its a byob restaurant , so be aware of that, and parking is tough in the neighborhood so be aware of it...

This is a byob restaurant. Best to make reservations since it is very small. We were first served excellent bruschetta which automatically comes as part of your meal. The fried calamari was not breaded & was perfect. Excellent meat, fish & pasta dishes. Love this place. Been there several times.

Everything we had was delicious, the mussels wonderful! The special tortellini in cream sauce to die for! Tartufo desert--can't go wrong

Excellent! Made a reservation on a Saturday night and was with a party of three. Great atmosphere, open, and very welcoming! Wait staff was outstanding and attentive the entire night and food was simply outstanding. Immediate seating and very accommodating of our request to sit by the window. Drink orders were immediate and our water glasses were never less than half full. Complimentary bruschetta (very fresh bread and tomatoes, perfectly seasoned) and fresh bread served with an outstanding olive oil and crushed tomato and pepper. We split two appetizers among our table of 3. We ordered the muscles, which were served to perfection (and also served as great dipping for bread after we finished the muscles) and fresh arugula with goat cheese and fresh tomatoes. Wait staff provided us with additional bread to go along with both the appetizer and the meal. After our appetizers we each had three unique entrees: gnocchi with parmesan and gorgonzola cream based sauce, veal medallions and marsala served with fresh broccoli rab with carrots and grilled potatoes, and I ordered bronzino a special of the night which was grilled sea bass topped with fresh crab meat in a delicate sauce along with broccoli rab and grilled potatoes. All of us were very pleased with our entrees. I tried all three and would highly recommend all of them. The bronzino was a really unique item, very fresh and cooked to perfection! After our entrees we all ordered a dessert. We ordered the creme brulee, lemon sorbet and mango sorbet. The creme burlee was outstanding. The sorbet is my favorite, very smooth flavor with the perfect amount of sweetness. Served very elegantly in a frozen shell of the fruit (either mango or lemon) nicely garnished. Pricing of food provides great value, our bill was around $90 for two appetizers, three entrees and three deserts! Also had the added bonus of complementary bruschetta, endless supply of bread and BYOB. A delightful night with a great staff, amazing food, and amazing atmosphere. We felt like we were in Europe, we came at 7 and stayed until 9, we enjoyed our food and our wine (BYOB)! Franco and his staff were excellent. We all enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to returning soon.

First time visiting this establishment. Was lucky to be taken here by my daughter and son-in-law. My son-in-law always tries to find an interesting place to eat when they come to town. He hit the mark once again. We ordered five different appetizers to share. A Gorgonzola salad and a Beet salad. .Our main course’s consisted of Veal Marsala, Bronzino, Seared Scallops and Veal Saltimbocca. All except the Scollop dish came with potatoes and lightly seard vegetables. We paired these with a nice selection of wines we brought because of this BYO establishment. For dessert we had a Bookbinder recipe cheesecake, Tiramisu and Cotta, a custard and fresh fruit. It hit the mark on every single dish. Everything was delicious. This place is small seeing for maybe 25 to 30 people. The owner and his son managed to take care of all the tables. It’s quite an efficient opperation. The end of the meal we were offered complementary Limoncello. The parking is not very good as it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. But other than that certainly worth seeking out. I would think reservations are a must.

I took my boyfriend for his birthday. The space is small in a quiet east falls neighborhood. The food servings was well timed between courses and very delicious with light background music. Because of its small, the atmosphere was not too loud and we were given lots of attention to ensure all was well with the meal throughout the service. I will definitely recommend and don't forget to take your bottle of wine.

Lovely authentic italian food. Vegetarians can find stuff here to eat too. Fills up easily and tables close to each other. But I thought that added to its charm. They tweaked the dish a bit, less cheese if yo want it so. Salads were evry good. tasty and fresh. Of course we chose it because of the reviews on the site and also because the menu offered vegetarian choices. It's tucked away in a neighborhood and the cab driver kept turning, at almost every street, to get here. But we found it easier to get back to the area around Penn Museum by taking a train.

This wonderful dining experience quickly helped us forget the neighborhood parking frustration. Just pray for good luck or take a taxi! We called late and luckily scored a late dinner reservation. There are about eight tables inside and two outside so you feel like you are guests at a friend's house. Every dish was excellent and there is no rush. It is BYO so enjoy your beverages in between courses. Leave room for the Tiramisu! We will definitely return!

Delicious food and desserts!!!! Cozy atmosphere. BYOB Wait staff is charming, attentive but not intrusive. I just hung up from making future reservations. Can't wait. Weekend reservations a must.

I had dinner at Fiorino with my lady friend. The food was excellent and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The server was personable and added to the enjoyment of the food.

Talk about a "home run"! As always, I looked to tripadvisor in the hopes of finding a great restaurant to take my wife to for our 32nd anniversary. I called in a reservation for 7pm. We arrived at the front door on time and got greeted and seated immediately. Parking can be an issue and the streets are narrow in the East Falls neighborhood but that is a small price to pay for such a wonderful Italian BYOB. We were never rushed during the evening, excellent pace for the entire meal. We ordered the tuna appetizer that came out with different items on the plate (tuna, lemon, capers, arugula, oil), normally we would have eaten this as separate items. The owner came over and basically prepared the appetizer as it should have been enjoyed, mixed together. It was at that point we knew Fiorino is a special place. The gnocchi's, and I try a lot of gnocchi's were my number 2 after the ones I had in Italy! Light as a feather. The branzino (fish) was out of this world. The recommended dessert, a limoncello cake was terrific and sent out with a candle as a way to say "Happy Anniversary". So if you live in Philly or Delaware County (took us 30 minutes to get there) or perhaps visiting please do yourself "a solid" and dine at Fiorino. Don't forget to BYOB and try those gnocchis. BTW, the menu was loaded with what looked like some great dishes!

Small and nice place, you feel like to be invited from some relatives! The food is traditional Italian, real pasta well done well cooked! The service very friendly and kindly. Remember to bring your own wine if you like to drink alcoholic.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. We extremely surprised. The meal was prepared superbly, the decor was quaint and hospitable. Loved the fact that the chef came out to each table at the end of the evening, introduced himself and made sure everything was prepared to your liking. The simple gesture of complementary Lemoncello and biscotti and the end of the meal was such a nice touch. Very small so would recommend reservations. Will be back if we're ever in Philadelphia again.

Best Italian restaurant by far in Philly. I ordered a tortellini special and brought my own wine since they don't charge a Cork fee. They bring out a few starters like bread and such which are great. For dessert I recommend the tiramisu and lemon sorbet that's served in an actual lemon. The tables are quite cramped up but would definitely recommend coming here as a couple, friends, or family.

Six of us and all the food was fantastic. Tagliatelle, Rolled Chicken, Scallops and two specials Tortellini and Filet Mignon. Plus great appetizers cesar salad, grilled calamari, and tuna carpacio. And great atmosphere in a nicely small space. And bring your own wine. A really special meal.

5 of us went to dinner about 6PM on a Saturday. The restaurant is in a small house in a residential neighborhood. Parking is a trick. Like most restaurants in this area, you have to find a scarce spot on the street. Tables are close together and the atmosphere is noisy. You bring your own wine (a plus in my book). They served bread with a tomato garnish as soon as we arrived (no extra charge). Then came a basket of bread with tomato sauce to spread on it in addition to butter and olive oil. We ordered calamari to split and it was very good, prepared in traditional unbreaded sauteed rings with some greens. I was looking for something light and had the scallops with spinach. The taste of the sauce was memorable. the other dishes were just as good. All the mains were in the low 20s. Total bill for 5 people was about $150. For desert, 3 of us got the bomba, chocolate gelato in a chocolate shell with rasberries inside and cut in 4 pieces like slices of orange. I should have taken a picture but I forgot. Definitely a keeper.

Franco the owner and chef made our visit very enjoyable. Explained and served each dish. Started with bruschetta, grilled calamari, Franco seafood entree delicious topped with lemoncello cake yum yum. My husband went for the pasta and teramasu. We'll be back with friends franco

If you want mass produced spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and breadsticks, this is NOT the place for you. But if you like real Italian food cooked beautifully and authentically, by all means come to Firorino. I love the tagliatelle bolognese. I get it every time. We live around the corner and come as often as we can, but be aware it is a small place that is very popular. Make reservations.

Probably won't be able to get a reservation next year, but Fiorino's in East Falls did the Feast of Seven Fishes so right last night. Perfectly paced courses, the usual attentive service and every plate prepared with care....from lightly breaded smelts to delicate bronzino with greens and potato..with plenty of calamari in an array of preparations thrown in for good measure. This was a memorable meal from a restaurant that just never disappoints. No glitz, glamor or pretension here ..just delicious food, warm service in a cozy room.. No sense ever looking ahead...but I'm thinking of next year's feast already

Last year I had a holiday lunch here and it was pretty decent. This year I had holiday lunch here and it was FANTASTIC. From the bread (yeah I know it's just bread right - wrong) to desserts. The grilled calamari appy was so good. Light and perfectly cooked. Mixed with capers. The pasta e fagioli was not as good as my mom's (sorry Franco but that's tough competition) but was pretty darn good. Really packed with flavor. My main course was so good I actually had a dream about it that night. The tagliatelle bolognese was absolutely one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Anywhere! So flavorful and downright delicious. Even pretty. My dining partners raved about their adriatic salads and chicken marsala. They looked awesome. For dessert we had quite an assortment from the tiramisu (the best) to the bomba. All were excellent. The service was good AND Franco even made an appearance in the dining area. I don't know about you but that's huge in my book. It just lets me know that this guy appreciates his guests. I look forward to returning and trying some other dishes.

As a cuisine lover of many years , I am finally moved to become a critic, but our birthday dinner at Fiorino’s didn’t require having any food palate. We called ahead, spoke to a fellow I presume to be the owner (call him O) and got an 8PM reservation for two. When we arrived, O appeared, frowned, and waved us to an empty table. He gave us a seemingly delectable list of specials. The bronzino sounded particularly good. But long after beyond the acceptable 5 minutes, i.e 20, we were graced with a bottle of sparkling water. More time passed. The menu came from a young waiter, and we ordered 4 items, 2 salads, 2 fish. Meanwhile O moved smoothly around us in this tiny room from table to table where food was being served. We saw a lot of his back. O then appeared, bent over the table, and said words I have never heard uttered by a restaurant O in my decades of dining: “The kitchen is broken; it has happened before. “ Period! The end. My birthday wife and I stared blankly at him. He said he was sorry we had to leave. No salad, no sandwich, not even a caper or a fig were offered. The other customers kept on eating—salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts. O didn’t give a fig. Out we went at about 8:50 PM carrying the bottle of water and a slice of bread. End of review.

Friends who know Italy well (and we've been there many times) come here regularly and took us here when visiting our old hometown. Excellent appetizers (tuna carpaccio, grilled calamari, bresaola), pasta (homemade gnocchi and Gorgonzola, tagliatelle Bolognese), dessert (limoncello sponge cake, limone sorbetto in a lemon). An intimate dining room with friendly staff (Well was our server). They brought complimentary good bread, bruschetta, and offered limoncello. Very authentic. We were not rushed. Good for couples and groups (we all sang Happy birthday to a long family table).

Came in a few minutes before opening time, Tomazzo the owner was very welcoming and accommodating. When he realized we did not bring our own bottle of wine, he offered some of his own, did not charge us for it. Grilled calamari was outstanding, gnocchi Gorgonzola and Sicilian Chicken excellent. Prices very reasonable, overall excellent service, experience

Cozy comfortable place/atmosphere. Food was good though menu limited. Our branzino was fresh but slightly undercooked. Pork chops were excellent as was the linguine vongole. The tomato paste dip for bread was out of this world, bruschetta was good though bread was slightly harder than usual (as compared to other restaurants). You need to bring your own wine as there's none on the menu. Price was very very reasonable, quality of food was generally very good. Make sure you make reservations on weekends. Would return.

Was there this past weekend...such a quaint restaurant, with the VERY best Italian food. Had the Pasta Fazouli Soup, Gnocci, Cannoli and Liemoncello Shot at the end. (I appoligize if I spelled anything incorrectly.) The food is just amazing. BYOB is also a nice touch. Can't wait to go back.

Franco has done it this time. If you have ever dreamed of an authentic meal in Italy, you don't have to book a flight. This small, charming venue has the ambience of Italy with the convenience of home. We have enjoyed many meals at Fiorino and have taken many family members and friends, and have never once been disappointed. The recipes are authentic and hard to duplicate. Franco and his personally well-trained staff know just what to add and when to toss to ensure the perfect flavor in each dish. Presentations are always pleasing. The extras of the great bread and sun-dried tomato pesto makes you want to return just to experience that taste with a great wine. Once you try Fiorino, you will include it among your favorite places to dine.

First time there, very impressed excellent food and service, can't wait to go back, biaggio the waiter was very helpful and friendly, met the owner And cook he really knows his stuff, I come from italy and know what good italian food is like, ciao, Vincenzo

I hadn't been back to this restaurant in well over a year. Took my boyfriend there for his birthday and this place delivered just as it had in years' past. First off, though the restaurant is small, the owner manages the flow and you don't feel crowded. The food is outstanding. Especially loved the Lang chops. They were the best I've ever had. Hard to imagine getting them anywhere else. What a great spot. Delicious food. Unpretentious. Fabulous dinner.

The gem of a restaurant is tucked away on the corner of Indian Queen Ln and Krail St. The ambience is warm and cosy. Menu is pretty simple without frills making it easy to decide. The food is excellent. The Bronzino with crab just melted in your mouth. The ravioli was simple but flavorful. The tiramisu was delectable. Service was very good. We'll definitely be back.

We had an outstanding meal for four. The dry aged beef appetizer was new for us--every bite full of the simple flavors of each ingredient. Salads, pastas, veal, all the best we've had. It is worth the short trip out of the main part of the city.

What a gem! I was looking for a great place to take my husband for his birthday. We love BYO"a and when I searched a good one this one keep reappearing! I made the reservation and now I am so glad! We had the grilled calamari and briacola for an app and both were great! For dinner we had the veal pasta special and tilapia both were excellent! Couldn't have been happier with the service ( Kathy"s last night she was great). All in all a great a experience!!!!

Good, not great - esp. for vegetarians. The decor and ambience are authentic and homey. The apps including breads, bruschetta, and Caesar sals were great, but the tuna carpaccio was all salt and tasteless. The gnocchi was overpowered by the fontina sauce and looked a like a bowl of white, wet, balls. The branzino came with crab which we had asked to be left off. The fish was good, but again, massively salty. Others loved the eggplant and veal. We are vegetarians that eat fish, so perhaps not the best place for us. I wouldn’t go back. Others would.

Reserved a table for a late reservation on a Saturday night. Got there on time but had to wait for our table. Not the fault of the restaurant. They opened our wine bottle outside, and brought us glasses and some cheese. Very good service and food at very reasonable prices. Will return. : )

In ballpark numbers, I have been here 20 times, and we go back again and again because the food is so lovingly prepared, its well executed and there is something for everyone. Did I mention its a BYOB - so don't forget. Parking in the neighborhood can be a little tight, but its worth the wander. I have had everything on the menu - so go for what you love. Its our secret go-to.

This establishment looks like it is just someone's house. It is a small place, but the food packs a punch! Definitely try to call ahead for a reservation as there are just a couple tables inside and outside when the weather is nice. You can definitely tell this place is a nice mom-and-pop restaurant by the service and simplicity. I had a great time here and the food was awesome. I started with the Bresaola appetizer, which is dry cured beef and that was yummy. They also brought out some complementary Brushetta to start. I was feeling pasta, so I decided to get the Tagiatelle with Bolognese. This pasta was soooo so delicious! It had the right flavor and the pasta was cooked al dente to my liking. I also got a side of spaghetti with garlic & oil, which while this was simple, it was good as well. For dessert, I heard the table next to me get one of the dessert specials, the Limoncello Cake, and wow, I was glad I got it because this was awesome. The texture and flavor were on point and I could just keep eating this cake again and again. It was very light and had a special place in my stomach! I hope to come back here again.

With a friend I went to discover a highly recommended local restaurant, Fiorino. I found it on Indian Queen Lane, (3572). It is in East Falls. On the sidewalk was the nicest and very friendly waiter who assured us that he could provide us with a table if we assured him we would be finished by a particular time. We took his invite and we were done on time. The room is small , seats about 20 people. The atmosphere is like that of a home. The clientele fascinating and all are friendly, which is good because you sit close to each other. It is a BYOB however the sidewalk waiter offered us a complimentary bottle of very nice Chardonnay. The tomatoes in the Caprice salad were the best I had this year. The Sea bass was delicious. The table next to us heard about the restaurant via a review by Craig LeBan. He recommended the Gorgonzola Gnocchi. The people next to us said it was the best ever. It is a small, intimate, friendly restaurant, with fine good and reasonably priced. The chef is Franco. Enjoy.

Great neighborhood BYOB Italian restaurant. Tiny and quaint. Food was superb and reasonably priced. Just practice your parking skills before you get there or better yet, uber.

This is my family's "go-to" spot, we don't always agree on restaurants but we're all "two thumbs up" for Fiorino. The grilled calamari appetizer and spaghetti scoglio are incredible. They will gladly customize any order, for any finicky diners. It's very small so make sure you have a reservation. It's also tucked away on a back street in East Falls, so have your GPS on. We've been here many times and it's always a great experience and wonderful meal.

Fiorino was recommended by a family friend who lives in East Falls. It did not disappoint. Very small family owned restaurant, well off the beaten path. Food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Residential area makes parking hard to find.

Our dinner was outstanding. The seafood sublime, the lamb excellent, the Tiramisu and Panna Cotta the best. Looking forward to our next visit.

Food was excellent - but noise level is very high. The staff was friendly and service was very good.

Found this hidden gem down a little side street while working in Philadelphia. We got there around 2 and the waiter said “sorry we close for lunch at 2:30.” I apologized and said we had been searching for the place for quite some time and he agreed to take care of us. I’m glad he did because the food was incredible. I had the daily fish special (tilapia) which was to die for - and my guest had the chicken breast with roasted red peppers - both were out of this world. The caprese salad and homemade bread and sauce were excellent as well. We’ll be back. Highly recommend!

The reason why I took the family here was strictly based on the reviews on this site. Wow were the reviews spot on. This place is in the middle of a neighborhood and parking was a bit of a challenge, but don't let that discourage you. The dishes were fantastic, (get the mussels) and the prices are reasonable. I'm glad we had it on our agenda.

I don't give 5 stars lightly. There are trendier places and there are places that have somewhat better service but there are few places that serve up better home cooked Italian food. This is an excellent must visit neighborhood italian restaurant without comparison in Philadelphia.

I found this place through TA's reviews and we weren't disappointed. I had two appetizers for dinner both were mice size portions. For my first course I enjoyed the grilled calamari. It was delicious although a bit too salty. Then I had the beet salad which was wonderful. My friend enjoyed soup which I didn't taste but look awesome and she confirmed it was good. I'll be back.

Absolutely loved this little Manayuck hideaway. One little room that seats maybe 30. We shared everything and it was impossible to say which dishes were the best. Everything was wonderful. The red ragu was authentic roman comfort food. Seafood was perfectly prepared and yummy. Desserts were fun. You just can't go wrong.

Franco's tiny BYOB is the centerpiece of East Falls dining. Named for the gold coin of Florence that financed the Renaissance, the food combines comfort and elegance. Our recent visit was our third and featured the special bronzino + crabmeat, the stuffed pork chop, the braciolo (cured beef + arugula), and tagliatelle, with a shared cannoli for dessert. Service was impeccable and the food to match. Perhaps a bit noisy, but the room was full of diner enjoying an excellent meal. We should come here more often; it's a real treat. You are always made to feel a special member of the family. We've followed Franco from "Franco's" to the his Osteria to here and never been disappointed. Five stars!!

Dinner with friends at a BYO is one of the joys of life and when the food excels as it does at this restaurant, there is little better on earth. The restaurant is located on a quiet, lovely street that I hardly knew existed in an atmospheric space. We ordered the tuna carpaccio, the gorgonzola gnocchi and the limoncello cake and everything was excellent. Kudos to all responsible.

Located in a small house in a residential neighborhood with narrow streets and very difficult parking fear Reno is an absolute gem serving exquisite Italian food. Service is superb and the food is second to none. We brought our own wine which kept the costs well below the level that would have been expected for a meal and service of the caliber we experienced. You will find a parking space but you may have a healthy walk which you will appreciate after dinner.

We visited phily with my family this summer. Discovered this place while walking in the streets of Philadelphia:) Love it❤️ Delicious food, nice people, great atmosphere. Strongly recommend!

Hard to find, tiny store front. Very pleasant, old country service with basic Italian. Price is right. A real neighborhood BYO. I'll go back.

You're welcome. (because you're going to thank me for this tip, oh boy) Fiorino's is a fine Italian BYOB off a charming street in a residential part of the city way, way off the tourist path in a little 'hood called "East Falls" where you'll find Philly University as well as the house where Grace Kelly & her huge family grew up. It's also a very easy part of town to get to -- several major roads lead here (I-76, US1, Henry Ave, Lincoln Drive) as well as two train stations (East Falls/Queen Lane) and a handful of bus routes. Right up the road from Manayunk, with it's shops and nightlife. Fiorino is open for lunch on weekdays so if you're in town for funzies, it'd be a great spot to fuel up. Otherwise, dinner reservations are a must, I'd say. One very cold night we called late to ask if we could swing by for dessert and I was surprised that they had to work to find a place for us. The joint was jumpin' even in bad weather! Which reminds me -- the spot is tiny, the ceilings are high. So yeah, it can get noisy despite the calm, elegant vibe. I much, much prefer dining here when the weather is warm. It's such a cute little spot to enjoy a great meal on "Indian Queen Lane" a few hops up from the still-stately Hohenadel Mansion (BTW, it's up for sale! Can someone please put a micro brewery here pleeeeeease??) . The service is impeccable -- "old world," even. And the food. OMG, the food. I could go on and on, but I see other reviewers have and, well, they are right. This guy is an incredible chef. From what I've read, he's had other bigger places throughout his career, and now he's settled into this cozy spot, which is the perfect-sized operation to make a living without stressing out over filling seats & managing employees. As you can see from the menu, Fiorino isn't "American" Italian but "real" Italian food so if you're looking for giant goopy pasta dishes swimming in red sauce & white cheese, this ain't the place. Bring the "foodie" in your life here, he or she will be delighted. Visiting locals? They might not know about this place. You could open their eyes to their new favorite restaurant!

Fiorino is a great dining experience. Bring your own wine to the small house on the hill and prepare for some incredible Italian food from a small kitchen and staff. Good place to UBER to as parking ranges from hard to non-existent. Owner is nearly always there cooking and will also come out front to make the rounds; he and his brothers previously owned one of the best high-end Italian restaurants in Philly. This is a laid-back approach but the food is just as good. I almost never order chicken in restaurants, but the involtini is really really good--as is nearly everything I have had there. Only problem is that it has become really hard to get a table.

We have had several great meals at Fiorino's - lunches and dinners. The food is consistently very good. Franco always uses top quality veal, fish, vegetables and cheeses, and transforms these into great takes on familiar-sounding dishes - like pasta bolognese, or veal saltimbocca, grilled calamari. My favorite is his preparation of rigatoni amatriciana - a very simple Roman dish that in the wrong hands can be a fatty, overspiced mess. Franco's is light, tasty and perfectly prepared. Nice selection of salads, appetizers and desserts - again - all very fresh ingredients. Reservations are a must, especially for dinner on weekends, and parking can be a headache in this very hilly and tight neighborhood, but Fiorino's is definitely worth planning ahead for. Also, a BYO, which we love.

Great food, intimate size, and very friendly service. Definitely one of the best meals I've had at an Italian restaurant!

I spent a great deal of time researching an Italian restaurant for my family to celebrate my daughters graduation from St Joe's and I was not disappointed!!!!! Wedged into an average American neighborhood just 3 miles from St Joes gave the restaurant a truly great ambiance. It is very small but that ensures your food is superb. BYOB. We had a group of 8 and everyone commented on the ambiance and the quality of the food. The crowd looked like local regulars so you know it's a great place. Parking is next to impossible so if you want to drive.......be sure to bring your patience and your parallel parking skills. Next time I will take an Uber. The prices are very reasonable...what are you waiting for? Make a reservations!!!

Straightforward menu, interesting specials, great atmosphere, personable service and a no-fee BYOB to boot - all without needing to get on 76, find parking in South Philly, or deal with the hipster foodie crowd. Reasonably priced, plenty of parking, understated, unassuming - focusing on execution and squarely hitting the mark. Chef Franco went table to table checking the quality of the food at one point, seeming to know most of the diners from previous visits - I'm apparently not alone in thinking that this place is worthy of regular return visits. No surprise there, I'd suggest reservations if you're going on a weekend.

The menu doesn't change much, but the food is always fantastic. Save room for desert, they are wonderful! It's byob, and there isn't a liquor store nearby, so come prepared. It's also small and very popular, so make reservations well in advance.

I've been hearing about this place for years and finally decided to try it for an anniversary dinner and neither one of us was disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. This place is definitely a hidden gem and one worth the trip out to East Falls.

Went here on a Saturday night. Quite small so definitely need reservations. Also BYOB. The food was terrific and as good as any that I have had. My wife got the eggplant rolllantini, my daughter had the ravioli, and I had the branzino and crab. All the dishes were spot on. The pasta was al dente, the fish very fresh and the bread perfect. My daughter also had the creme brûlée which she raved about. They first bring out complementary bruschetta. As it is a small place it does get loud. Street parking that can be a bit difficult.

Three good friends taking you out for your birthday is usually a pretty good thing... except when it is way better. They told me how fabulous this little BYOB on East Falls was and I am a believer. It is small....maybe 10 tables and it is like eating at Grandma's if she's Italian. The service was spot on and the food was so good. I have clearly never had real gnocchi before, so light just melted away in your mouth. The baramundi with crab..so flavorful. Because it was my birthday we went big with 4 desserts to share. Cteme brulee, tiramisu, cannoli and bombe....could not pick a favorite. Try this place.

We went with friends and seated outside, the place it's great and cozy. The food it's delicious and the tiramisu outstanding. The service is a little slow (maybe inside it's better?.

I'd like to rate this restaurant a 5 because overall the food was delicious but there were some deficiencies. Fiorino is in what is basically the living room of an East Falls row home. We had reservations and were seated after a table was cleared and reset. We chose this restaurant based on reviews to celebrate a milestone anniversary. It's very quaint and cozy but it was crowded so it can get a little loud. Like I said, the food was very good. The pros - food (gnocchi was light and fluffy and the red gravy was perfect); they don't rush you out the door; the prices are good (1 app, 2 entrees before tip was $55). The cons - parking (difficult to find a spot near the restaurant and navigating the narrow streets was a challenge); service (only two people seating/waiting/serving both inside and out the night we were there - another couple who arrived after us were seated, had menus and wine opened before us - we assumed they were regulars and therefore received preferential treatment); the mussels (have had them in other seafood dishes but not as the main app - they were very briny and gritty (sand?)). I have still not decided whether I will return, mostly because of location and parking.

If your not from the area this place may be hard to locate, but, go regardless. Indian Queen Lane is a one way street heading towards the Schukyll River. The food was authentic home made Italian and the establishment is set up just as any small trattoria would be meaning that you may be sitting very close to other guests. If that's not your thing, don't go and also don't ever go to Italy. The Pasta was fresh and the Veal Marsala was quite a treat. We will definitely return next time were in Philadelphia. Finish up the evening with a quick drive up to the Kelly Mansion, where Grace Kelly was raised, which is just about 1/2 a mile away at 3901 Henry Ave.

We just arrived and wanted Italian food. Found this restaurant from yelp. It is literally a hole in the wall. But the food ....is out of this world. We have a party of seven and we pretty much tried 1/2 of the menu and every dish makes our palate sing. Afterwards, the chef Franco came out to greet us. He is super friendly and humble. So we decided to come back for a 2nd meal- Italian omakase. It is as excellent as before. We left Philadelphia in happy spirit because of his supreme cooking.

Have visited this restaurant a few times since they opened. Each time better and better. Very cute small and friendly place real neighboorhood feel to it. Have been following Franco Faggi, the owner, since the early eighties even got married in his first restaurant the Monte Carlo. We have enjoyed them all but this in our favorite.

This was our last night in Philly. I wanted to get a flare of a local neighborhood and boy this was it!! We sat outside my husband enjoyed the fish I had the butternut squash ravioli yummm everyone was pleasant! We also had the Cheesecake yummm . So glad we found this gem

A wonderful eating experience. This might be a just small restaurant in a neighborhood, but it is a big time restaurant. Everything is first rate: service, food, and atmosphere. Four people made it all happen, 2 chefs and 2 waiters. Dinner ran like clockwork. We enjoyed lamb chops, eggplant rollatini and clams and linguine. All the dinners were generous portions, tasty and nicely plated.

House and beet salads were fresh and bright. Gnocchi like rolled air potato/pasta in a fabulous gorgonzola sauce, like none I've ever had before and can still imagine tasting now. Bronzini was broiled with a lite marinaide/sauce, I don't order fish but would this. Lamb shank in brown sauce, fabulous and fork tender. Orecchette rimini in blush sauce; we made all gone. Tiramisu perfect with not over-saturated layers and sweet mascarpone. DEFINITELY worth the drive and location. Wish it was in P-burgh. WE'LL BE BACK!! (BYOB)

I read many reviews of this place. I was very excited and anticipated a fantastic meal. I'm somewhat on the fence. Some things were really good and somethings were just ok. I had lunch here with a few coworkers. We had many appetizers to start. The grilled calamari was decent. The tuna carpaccio was awesome. So fresh and light. Caprese salad also just ok. The mussels were good. There were a few beet salads as well as gorgonzola and a few house salads. My main entree was the veal piccata. There were two very thin "medallions". A little tough. Not terribly flavorful. Almost kind of bland. The rest of my party had spaghetti scoglio, salmon salad, ravioli and chicken marsala. They said they were very good. The desserts looked and tasted great. Tiramisu, bomba and cheese cake were all excellent. As I said I was expecting to be blown away by the food. It was good but not as stellar as I had anticipated. The place is very small. A nice touch would have been if the chef made an appearance in the dining area. That goes a long way. Service was ok. I'll return for dinner next time.

We had salads and the Tuna Carpaccio These were great Gnocci , Fish and lamb chops All prepared nicely Went early 6:00 so it was not crowded or noisy Wonderful time!

Finally got it together to go here for a special occasion. We were first served a nibble of bruschetta. THEN the sundried tomato pesto sauce with bread. OMG. I could have eaten that all night. We moved on to our appetizers and entrees. Hubby had a pasta dish for which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had salmon. Very good. We finished our meal with a shared chocolate mousse. Sooo good. We waited a long time to finally make it here, won't wait so long to go back. My only issue was the lack of parking but it is manageable. Staff even helped an elderly couple with parking. That's how nice they are!

It was our first visit to Fiorino's but it certainly won't be the last. This charming, cozy, little gem was tucked into a classic Philadelphia residential street just north of the main street of Manayunk. Fiorino is clearly a cut above the usual. We knew we chose well when the residents we passed asked if we were heading there, smiled and mentioned their approval of our selection. The wonderful bay window is invites the visitor in, and the food? Deliciouso. I had the pasta e fagioli soup which they topped with parmesan cheese and fresh pepper for me. Excellent. Clearly homemade and wonderfully flavorful. The pasta was perfectly cooked. Not too soft. My friend had broccoli rabe which he enjoyed as an appetizer. The eggplant with ricotta filling special was hot and delicious comfort food. A nice choice for a vegetarian. My friend had the scallops which he found "very tasty". He was looking for a light meal and he was very pleased with his choice. We brought our own wine which they opened for us and they even took our picture for us! We were told they do that all the time. We felt very much at home and I found myself wishing I lived on the street so I could come weekly. My friend said he'd be there daily if he lived there. Service was attentive, but we felt we had our privacy, too. The price? What a value. Can't wait to go again.

We had a little trouble finding the place because of a detour, but it was worth the extra driving. The pretty dining room is quite small, so make a reservation. Good salads and mussels (red or white sauce) to start. The bread is served with a sun-dried tomato pesto... YUM! All four of us had veal, and we were pleased with our selections. Our entrees were served with roast potato and sautéed collard greens/sliced carrots which were very nice. Wonderful desserts! Service was pleasant and efficient. It is clear that the owner and staff take great pride in their restaurant.

Forget the overpriced bigger name spots and reserve yourself a table at this cozy BYOB for some of the best italian food in Philadelphia. Leave a little extra time for street parking and enjoy a great meal. The specials and entrees are also available as apppetizer-size portions. The desserts are not to be missed.
East Falls' Italian Gem
Sumptuous lunch date with the wife, and our first time to dine in this wonderful petite sized neighborhood restaurant. I called before they open for lunch and opted to book 11:30. This wonderful lady (Cathy) was so nice and warm, she made us so welcome just any Italian lady in Florence! Starting off with an appetizer of Grilled Calamari, perfectly cooked with capers and olives, tender and enjoyable with a side of arugula. Pasta e Fagioli is hearty and flavorful, beans were soft tender with different pasta. Spaghetti Scoglio served with perfectly al dente pasta, tons of seafood (mussels, clams, scallops, fish, huge prawns, etc.)..heavenly! Veal Piccata has the right amount of tartness of lemon and saltiness of capers...serving is small and does not come with pasta...so I ordered a side of spaghetti in olive oil which I enjoyed a ton. For dessert, we got the Bomba...sure is a 'dessert round bomb' of vanilla & chocolate gelato covered in a layer of chocolate...just wow! Yes, it is a small place, so be prepared to wait or get reservations in advanced. Neighborhood has tight streets, so parking is a challenge. We got lucky getting a spot just a short distance. This is definitely something that we will come back for dinner.
