Fantastic for our wedding-eve send-off!

By Sylvia G |

We were staying at The Dana the weekend of our wedding so we decided to have our wedding-eve send-off with family and friends at The Firefly. Since we live in San Antonio, Texas, I began communicating with Juan Becerra of the Firefly months before. He took our group reservation and was flexible as our original numbers changed. We finally met Juan in person the afternoon of our event: he already had tables and chairs ready in the patio! That evening, our party showed up - with more people than expected - but Juan and his team were so friendly and accommodating. Kudos to Enrique, our server, who had his hands full but always kept a smile on his face! The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was excellent! I could have that calamari any day! I highly recommend The Firefly for their excellent service, delicious food, and great atmosphere. Thank you, Juan, Enrique and The Firefly team!!

Very pleasant lunch

By SueVirginiaBeach_Va |

Menu was varied. Clam chowder was good. Stir fry with brown rice tasty. Prices very reasonable and service very pleasant. Outdoor seating is very peaceful with a pleasant view of the marina.

Buffett- WOW

By Cynthia S |

The breakfast buffet was outstanding! More staff working in one restaurant serving, replenishing, cooking, etc than I have ever seen. Very accommodating. AND, if you are staying at the Dana Mission Inn, San Diego, you get a huge discount for the buffet.

Wonderful buffet breakfast, nice views

By mhershey |

We loved our breakfasts there, with fruit, French toast, an omelette station, and much more. The restaurant overlooks the pool on the marina, so it's a pleasant view. We picked up dinner to eat in our rooms, and particularly loved the BBQ chicken Flat bread. Very nicely done!

Good food

By Minday79 |

We got a table with a little fire pit in the middle which was fun! Service was a little slow but the food was really good and the carrot cake was yummy!

Good potatoes

By adupuy8 |

šŸ‘ 5$ drink specials too. I liked the outdoor fire pits. Service was good. View of the marina is nice.

The Dana at Mission Bay/Firefly Eatery

By Tammy A |

We stayed at the Dana on Mission Bay resort, so we did eat here a few times during our week-long stay. We had a late dinner upon arrival, breakfast one morning and a normal-time dinner one evening. The menu isn’t huge but there were choices to satisfy mom/dad/picky 12 year old daughter. The ambience is nice - overlooking the pool, heaters all around to help with the evening chill in the air. The service was excellent every time. We appreciated having a dining option on-site.

Cesar is the best

By jay g |

Awesome personality, knows his drinks and is always pleasant and courteous. We always come back because of Cesar his the best !!!!!!!

David Gomez at the firefly

By DONNA W |

Came here for breakfast this morning and had the most exceptional waiter. His name is David Gomez, he works the morning shift at the firefly. He was so helpful. Greeted us with a smile, helped with all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our whole meal. On top of great service we had fabulous food. Thanks David for making our morning so wonderful.

Al Fresco Dining

By LuanaRubin |

We enjoyed sitting on the patio outside. Still cautious about Covid so this is a good choice. Service seemed to be uneven depending on the time dinner started. Our meal at 5 pm was no problem. Another group met at 6:30 pm and there were long delays. So their kitchen has its limitations it seems. If you have limited time, come before or after the dinner rush. Everyone has staff issues these days, it seems. Food was on the higher priced side but taste and quality was good.

Fall Season - Family Weekend Getaway

By jeeper91010 |

food and location

By bsyovat |

We spend a lot of time at the Dana Mission Bay mostly at the bayside pool. We have ordered everything from drinks to meals at the Firefly and never have been disappointed. Our waitress Dawn Dewitt has been an awesome person to deal with, as well. Still haven't tried the buffet but it's on our list!

Great Staff!

By Amanda L |

We had Cesar B as our bartender this weekend and he went way beyond to help us and make our day. He is a great asset to the Dana team.

Tasty!

By Honeybee92024 |

Good food, great location and view. After we ate there we walked around the bay. Will come here again

Nice Bar - Great Entertainment!

By 688cathyc |

This is a nice place to sit and have drinks and when they have entertainment it is great! We were fortunate enough to enjoy the entertainment two nights! Would definitely go back!

Nice Dining in The Dana

By Rebecca S |

I had vegan, husband had seafood. Our teen son had burger. There's not a large menu, but there's a variety. Nice setting. Service was great. Lots of seating outside in courtyard. Limited seating inside.

Brunch

By Terrie S |

Eating outside was very pleasant. good service. Veggie omelet was delicious. At night the bar had sports on TV inside and tables outside with some live musicians. Appetizers were good, especially the one with the Humboldt cheese.

Sat outside(can bring the dog)

By Barbara M |

Dog friendly restaurant. Food was excellent. Mid range pricing. Great kids menu(grandkids actually ATE)

Nice eatery

By ladano |

Great staff, good food, slightly pricey, but great environment. Relaxing and fun. Indoor and outdoor dining year round.

Don’t bother with the Fried Chicken

By TheGatesClan |

Don’t bother with the Fried Chicken. Short Rib and Mac&Cheese were very nice but the fried chicken was very over cooked and didn’t come with the all important biscuit. Service was only average but that’s what you get at a resort location.

Excellent view, food and service

By Anna Beth G |

We were there last minute last Thursday night for a large table. They were able to accommodate us quickly and efficiently. We got a nice table outside and the views were great. It was a bit chilly but they had heaters. The service was PHENOMENAL! We were a large party and she handled us with grace, poise and with a wonderful smile. I think her name was Allisen and she was great. She had good recommendations for what to order and which dishes to decide between. The food was great, the wine was reasonable and we were very happy there. Thank you!

Wonderful poolside food and drinks

By Jonathan N |

Stayed at the Dana hotel for a wedding. They have a great pool and food service provided by Firefly restaurant. Food was very good and our server, Daun Dewitt, provided excellent service.

Outdoor patio, warm SD nights and delicious food and cocktails

By MissieM55 |

We have eaten here many times over years and it has been consistently good with a changing menu. The outdoor ambiance is so comfortable on warm San Diego evenings.

Slow Service and Large Sandwiches

By Jean L |

The restaurant was also serving a large group but we did wait 15 minutes to get a menu or order something to drink. The grilled/panini sandwiches are very big and are served with french fries or soup. If we come here again we will order one sandwich and one extra side.

Breakfast is the best!

By Jojo |

Hi just wanted to share my awsome experience that i had at The Firefly,i had breakfast with my husband and the omelettes were delicious. Thanks to Fernando for making our omelettes quick and tasty!

amazing breakfast buffet

By Momtravelerof6 |

This was one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever experienced! A special shout out to the omelet chef who whipped up the best tasting, special-order omelets in a very friendly and professional manner. The wait staff, too, were friendly, attentive, and professional. A nice variety of tasty breakfast foods. Lunch/dinner options seemed more limited, and a bit expensive.

Good on a Pinch

By Edward S |

Facility is clean. Service is above average. Short menu but hits the basics. Food was fresh, portions small for price paid. Presentation was weak, flavors were ok. Perfect in the pinch, nothing spectacular but will hold you over.

Good Food in an Intimate Setting

By Nestor A |

Great menu items served by great people. Dinner here can be very intimate. There is a family oriented pool area nearby so, at times, it can also be very "festive". Your meal atmosphere is determined by your timing.

Good selection and nice view

By purrfectly |

The buffet had a wide variety of cereals, pastries, fruit, and hot dishes like french toast and potatoes. The pool side dining area was beautiful and relaxing before a day of sessions. A side omelette bar was busy but i didn't try it. Price is high, but 50% off helped.

Delicious...

By Desiree8199 |

This restaurant is open to the public, but being a guest at the Dana hotel you get a little perk with your meal..everything was amazing from the service to the food to the atmosphere, we sat outside in the "Garden" area, they have live music every night, and I loved how many Gluten Free options they have which being Paleo made it super easy to order.

Fernando at the omelette bar was excellent!

By Rosi B |

Fernando at the omelette bar and most of the other wait staff were great. My parents, who are elderly, enjoyed their stay. They liked the bath robes and the paths. …………………………………………………………………………………………..

Breakfast Buffet by Mission Bay

By David H |

At the Firefly the ambience and view of the Bay is beyond compare!!! Buffet from 7-11am is $15.00 with room at the Dana. $3 mimosas and $5 Bloody Mary! David, the Manager, Juan, Kelly, And Jamie@omelette bar were attentive and hospitable. The fruit was amazing. I enjoyed the French toast, beef hash, omelette and bacon/sausages. Thanks for a delightful birthday breakfast for my wife Lezlie!

Good food but overpriced

By Gail E |

The menu here is rather limited but the food is good although it is overpriced. The service is hit and miss - we showed up around 2 in the afternoon, sat down at a table outside and we waited and waited for service even though staff looked our way on several occasions. In the evening when we came back for dinner, service was much better.

Food is good

By Julie S |

The food is good but they have a limited menu. They have a decent room service menu and they deliver to the pool!

Nice setting, good food

By Sue K |

Had dinner on the last night of a 4 day San Diego girls weekend. We stayed at the resort for 2 of our nights. Cool damp evening but the heaters and fire tables made for a nice place to sit. We were even given blankets. We split a cheese board and a lobster roll. Both were delicious. Shout out to Yantiz our waiter for his attentiveness and excellent service. Would definitely recommend it.

Firefly

By Eric L |

We found the restaurant to be good, if not a little expensive. Breakfast buffet has lots of offerings and should suit most palates. Excellent and friendly staff there who do their best to help make the most of your dining experience.

Wonderful view, not the best food

By Hannah B |

The view is wonderful. The staff is alright. But the food wasn’t up to par. My chicken was so dry I could hardly chock it down. Also we got a dessert to go and specifically asked for the ice cream on the side... this wasn’t done so our dessert was soggy. For what the food costs I would not return to this restaurant.

An Amazing Experience

By Julieanne B |

When traveling on business, I generally try to avoid the hotel restaurants for a number of reasons: 1.) I don't relish sitting alone 2.) They're usually over priced and 3.) I would prefer to relax in my PJs as opposed to getting dressed up. However, after my first couple of nights ordering in, I decided to give the Firefly a try. I was seated quickly at a table along the windows. My waiter, Pierce, immediately brought my menu and water with a smile. It didn't take me long to settle on the pan seared sea scallops as they are generally my favorite. While I waited for my food, Pierce brought the bread and butter and stopped to chat. He was genuinely kind and we found plenty of things to talk about - probably too many, but he was still attentive to all of his other tables. When my dinner arrived, the scallops were AMAZING. There was a salad on the plate that looked to be leeks and red onions with almonds. I was hesitant to try it as it looked like it could be overpowering. When I tried it, I was astonished at what a perfect compliment it was to the scallops! It was fantastic! The salad had citrus in it, which paired beautifully with the scallops. Although there was more than enough food on my plate, it was so delicious I felt like I could eat three more orders. I settled, instead, for taking dessert back to my room to eat later. I ordered a Pina Colada Creme Brulee. All I can say about that is that you really can't go wrong. When all was said and done, this meal was less expensive than most of my options from Grub Hub, and it was SO much better! Because the food and service were so fabulous, and the prices were reasonable, I ended up returning more than once. Pierce always recognized me and greeted me with a smile. Others were equally friendly. In addition to dinner, I also had the breakfast buffet while I was there. It was also great. They had bagels and lox, biscuits and gravy, and omelet station and so much more that I didn't even get a chance to look at it all. While it was a little more than I would normally spend for breakfast, there weren't a lot of other choices in the area. Overall, the restaurant was outstanding! I would definitely eat her again! Special thanks to Pierce for making my dinners even more enjoyable with your hospitality.

AMAZING!

By Michelle B |

My boyfriend and I had the absolute best time at The Dana on our vacation. We ate and drank at The Firefly EVERY day and night. Cesar was our bartender every time. He was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He made our whole vacation so much better! Not only is he an awesome bartender, but he kept us smiling and laughing, even when we received news of a close friend passing away. I would and have recommend going to see Cesar and Bianca at Firefly! You'll be impressed! Thank you Cesar! #5outof5

Group dinner at the Firefly Restaurant

By Gary T |

Group dinner at the Firefly Restaurant was delicious. Food was prepared very well and service was great. Delivery time time was very reasonable. Nice environment.

Great food!

By missc587 |

This is a great restaurant. We were staying at the Dana hotel and we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The brunch selection was full of variety, my picky kids found lots to eat and so did us adults. Eating in the restaurant there are fewer food choices but enough to satisfy all and very tasty food. This restaurant also does the room service/take out, slightly different menu, more options especially kid friendly options. Whole family loved this place. Staff was super friendly and food was a little pricy but worthbit. I highly recommend eating here.

Vaca

By Jim L |

Nice place, good food. Outside dining area needs a little TLC. Near pool which was nice too. Servers were great, one bartender in particular was wonderful.

Great food and service

By Kathy M |

We stayed at the Dana and ate here a few times. The breakfast buffet was delicious. They had plenty of choices and an omelet/egg station for fresh eggs. We also had dinner here. The wine and beer choices are great. The duck tacos were to die for! Although a little spicy, still delicious! The braised beef short ribs were also delicious. The only issue we had is it was a little loud. We ate inside by the bar, that's probably why.

Excellent dining

By Marcia D |

During my stay at The Dana I had breakfast twice at Firefly. One morning was a little chilly, so I ate inside. The second morning was warmer so I was able to enjoy the sun and beautiful view outdoors. The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating, and the breakfast buffet offered abundant , delicious options. I also ordered a salad and dessert. from room service during my stay. They were delivered quickly, and were fantastic!

Nice menu selection, delicious food, and lovely view from the patio (heated).

By llbruin |

Waiters were very helpful with meal selection inquiries and very attentive. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for such a lovely venue. Wine options were nice, too.

Fernando’s omelettes at the FireFly restaurant

By Stephanie M |

Firefly restaurant at the Dana in Mission Bay has a fabulous brunch. The highlight of the brunch is Fernandoā€˜s omelettes. He makes made to order omelettes that are just delicious! We looked forward to them every morning and they never disappointed.

Great food, with dog friendly patio.

By jjoek1 |

The Firefly restaurant has a dog friendly patio, so our two dogs came to dinner with us. The food was outstandingly good, so much so that on our second evening our son and partner with their dog joined us on the patio. The food was delicious. Between the two evenings we had their calamari and cheese plate appetizer, the local sea bass, salmon, Furikake fried chicken, and short ribs. All were very well presented and prepared.

Disappointing!

By James D |

We, a group of four adults were seeking a nice, but not too costly place to enjoy a convivial dinner to cap off a day of sightseeing in San Diego. Well, sad to say, we were disappointed. Having called ahead for a reservation, we were seated immediately at a pleasant patio table. Our server (Levi) promptly arrived to take drink orders, and our beverages were delivered shortly. My wife ordered a Margarito and I later found she didn't much care for their version. Nonetheless, the rest of our party were quite satisfied with our wine and beer orders. On ordering dinner, I elected to try the steamed clam dinner along with a Cesar salad. The meals were served promptly, but my salad and entree were delivered together. I had to ask our server to please hold the entree until after I had a chance to eat the salad. About four minutes later, the server came back with the clams and I again had to ask him to wait for me to finish my salad. He took them away, and I was concerned they would probably sit under a warming lamp until time to serve our entrees. Sure enough, when our entrees were brought out, the clams were only slightly warm, and appeared to be dry. Hmmmmmm . . . I elected to give them a try anyway since our server had brought them out multiple times already. Needless to say, they were not very good. I ate several before giving up - tepid clams just aren't good. When we prepared to leave, I complained about the clams and our server politely removed them from my check. I'd much rather have enjoyed eating them, though.

Great Drinks and Delicious Food!

By Tanya E |

We recently stayed at the Dana Hotel and went down to their restaurant, Cesar B is a great bartender! Highly recommend staying at the Dana or going to the Firefly.

Skip Firefly—unless you enjoy being treated like garbage

By Nicole N |

The staff at this restaurant were unbelievably rude. I called to place a simple to-go order, and the girl on the phone literally hung up after saying, ā€œThat’s it?ā€ No name, no price, no confirmation—just click. When I went to pick it up, I watched them mock another guest who asked a basic question about pool towels. One girl cut him off mid-sentence with a sarcastic ā€œYeah, yeah, it’s not that big of a deal,ā€ then laughed about him as he walked away. You could see his smile drop after they treated him like that; it was sad. Firefly isn’t just bad service—it’s employees going out of their way to make paying guests feel stupid and unwelcome. It felt like dealing with bored teenagers who couldn’t care less. Absolutely unacceptable.

Best meal we have had all trip!

By _michelle_johnston4 |

We had the meatloaf and chicken hot pie. Both meals were full of flavour, fresh ingredients and cooked with attention to detail. After traveling for 2 weeks this was the most satisfying and enjoyable meal we have had. Credit to the chef.

Limited selection, average food

By Constant Business Traveler |

Was staying at The Dana for committee meetings, and time prevented us from going off site for lunch. Thus, we ate at the firefly three days in a row. Nothing spectacular here, just average food at resort hotel prices. Service was also just average. The only redeeming factor was the breakfast buffet, which offered made to order eggs, and a good selection of fresh berries. Other than that - it just isn't really worth the money.

Great food, great service

By betsnow |

I am not normally one to go five stars for a hotel restaurant but we had three wonderful meals here with fantastic service on a recent stay at The Dana. One breakfast and two lunches, we enjoyed their lovely patio seating with our two pups. We had the same fantastic server each time, lucky for us, who always took great care of us. The breakfast buffet was solid, and they make a great vanilla latte. The lunch menu delivered some great eats, we tried the BLTA, Burger, Flatbread, Brussels, and Cobb salad. The cocktails are pretty on point as well. Honestly, if you never wanted to even leave this property you would not have to. We are having an event here in February of 2025 and if this is a sign/indication of the Food & Beverage situation here, then I am stoked.

fantastic flavours

By melliej2015 |

This was a great restaurant without even leaving the hotel grounds! Extensive range breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Classic American favourites

By LATraveller_12 |

Burgers, tacos, ribs and bbq chicken, it is impossible not to please the majority of American customers! The food was decent, a little on the sweet side, but I guess that is the standard for beans, biscuit and coleslaw. The portions were generous and the price was fair. Good location by the pool with a view towards the bay, we will probably come back here!

Food is very good

By Diane H |

I had dinner with a group of Komen supporters/walkers and then a solo lunch, both outside and enjoyed the food and the service was great.

Good breakfast buffet

By BabbetteStengel |

Attentive service and decent food for breakfast, especially the omelet station. Coupons might be available when you check in.

Great and Surprising for Hotel restaurant

By Debra |

Both breakfast and dinner were delicious! The Sea Bass was amazing, and the staff were willing to switch out the sauces for me. The breakfast potatoes are great. The setting by the pool is lovely, and the service was terrific. I was very happy with my dinner!

A great experience!

By Johnny P |

The food was delicious and the service was friendly and very quick. Especially want to thank Ceasar for all his help!

Okay...

By Andi T |

Food was okay... Expected a bit more for the price and since we had visited often over the last several years. Service was under par this time as well. We were seated promptly but then waited to order and waited even longer to pay. It wasn't busy, so I'm not sure what was going on. Convenient if you are staying and want to stay in.

Food

By Kikistrouble |

The staff very friendly the food was good just a little pricey like the fire pits views of the water.

Nothing Special

By Duffyruns |

The service at the restaurant was a little above average. The food on the other hand was nothing special. I wouldn't recommend this establishment based on the price and quality of food.

Guest

By LynnJameson |

Food and atmosphere was very nice. Brunch was good and priced right! Jamie Vega made amazing omelets! Give it a try!

Great breakfast

By Terry P |

We ate here every morning during our stay. Good selection. Omelette station. Hot entrees, fresh fruit and lots of bread selections.

Overpriced

By ZMDWG |

$24 pp for a breakfast buffet? I guess some people might not mind the price but I think it's ridiculous. They'd appeal to more of the lodging guests if the prices were more reasonable. $15 would be sufficient.

Lots of outdoor tables

By Sandy B |

Very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely view across the pool to the bay. Lots of menu options - including a great local beer selection - so you can have fine dining or you can choose less expensive options and still have plenty to choose from.

Great people, nightly bar specials...

By Keith B |

Very convenient if one is staying at the Dana. The people in the bar/restaurant are wonderful, the food is decent, and every night they have some sort of drink special, like $4 for a flight of beers etc. Nightly happy hour with food and drink. Overall fairly priced, especially considering that it's a resort restaurant. I was glad to be able to walk across the compound and eat/drink without taking an Uber... and the Firefly is definitely better than most mid-priced hotel food.

Cold tortilla soup- then Microwaved hot Vanilla Ice cream and rock hard cookie not teeth friendly my son could not bite

By Esther B |

torrilla soup looked delicious but was cold, we Shared this to waitress and she offered to microwave it for a minute. Sons ice cream with cookie, cookie was very hard, overall I think this place has a great view but don’t expect too much for your food. friendly servers but poor quality food- Chef Ramsey would cringe

By the pool

By ashley1593 |

It was a family get away and the pool server Nancy was outstanding. She told us about happy hour and her friendly conversations with us and the way she interacted with our kids made it even better. The Dana hotel is right next to mission beach and really close to sea world. I highly recommend staying here great staff and beautiful views.

Late arrival

By tetsuo-san |

For a hotel restaurant it was better than most. Service was just ok… maybe because I arrived right before closing. šŸ˜• My entree, mushrooms w/ fettuccine, was not as flavorful as I’d hoped. Caesar salad was very good. Won’t be eating here again during my stay.

Nice fire pits

By Darlene F |

We enjoyed our meal on a fire pit table listening to some great music! Food was good, too. The clam chowder is one of my favorites.

Good meal

By Freeman5802 |

The food here is very good as is the service and is we felt good value for money, I went for the steak and was not disappointed. Even if your not staying at the hotel this is worth a visit.

Very nice for a hotel restaurant

By Lovetochew |

We were staying at the Dana at Mission Bay so the restaurant was discounted. $15 per day and the breakfast buffet was half price which made it a nice option. They have drink specials and a happy hour also nice. We only had dinner here once but breakfast three days and it was all great.

Fantastic Dinner

By Daniel M |

Everything on the menu was GREAT ...try the sea bass !! Great waitstaff beautiful surroundings ..a hidden gem ...

Great food.

By Brian S |

The menu is one that can accommodate the most picky of diners. A vast array of foods encompassed with great flavor. The absolute best chips and guac!

Better business travel breakfast

By j-penn |

Stayed at the hotel here and enjoyed breakfast twice. For a buffet it was very good, eggs to order as well. Lattes for the wife.

Worrad family reunion

By LandG520 |

We just stayed here with about 25 family members and had a great time! Beautiful location! I just want to point some amazing customer service I had from Alex and Cesar!! Cesar the bartender made a great patron margarita, latte and was very helpful and friendly with not only my self but a few of my different family members that went to the bar a few times today! Alex was great and helpful from the moment I asked about ordering for for my kids at the pool! He gave me a few different options and made it very convenient to make my husband and kiddos happy! We will be back! We are so happy we upgraded our room to a bay view room!! To is it was worth the money to have a beautiful balcony over looking the bay!

Enjoyed once

By bmax101 |

I would have liked a little more variety in both the breakfast buffet and the dinner menu. The food was very well prepared and enjoyable, however.

GREAT BREAKFAST BUFFET!

By JanLosAngeles |

Firstly, we had never been to The Dana, very nice hotel, stylish and modern, great location..we were staying nearby at Paradise Point Resort and decided the breakfast buffet at Dana looked really interesting..we were right, it was great and pretty good for the price of $18.95, lovely outdoor tables poolside, overlooking the marina. Lots to choose from, made to order omelets, fresh fruit, lox, cereals, oatmeal, egg, bacon dishes, potatoes, toast, juice etc..my favorite part were the lattes, espressos are included! Really good service, we had a great waiter named Brian who had the bartender make me an almond milk latte, really good, perfect for my low carb diet..he was very attentive to all details, in fact we went there twice and had him both times! Great place for breakfast, even better on weekends, more food choices, however, we were there mid week..will go back for sure!

Fire Fly

By Becky S |

Always delicious food and great atmosphere ! Love looking out into the marina at dusk ! Staff was attentive !

Terrific spot for lunch over looking the pier and pool.

By azcheesefan |

We met for lunch at the firefly while waiting for family members to be texted to check in. The outside patio was nice and cool to eat our lunch. I order the albacore tuna melt with fries and I loved every bite. Fresh albacore was tasty. A family member ordered the Panzella salad which she said was delicious the fresh mozzarella balls terrific. Another family member ordered the turkey Cobb wrap. She said it was also delicious and fresh. Two other family members enjoyed the Cobb salad. My wife was the only person that did not like her dish the brown rice bowl. She said it was just alright that she would not order it again.

In hotel dining

By cmickelsen |

It's nice they have a decent restaurant at the hotel but it was anything really great. Average food and if you stay at the hotel it was nice that kids ate free with your meal. Food was decent and the service was just ok. It was very convenient which is worth a lot with kids.

Great time here!

By Anna Beth G |

We were staying at the Hyatt and didn't want to drive to dinner so we walked across the street to the Dana (Had dinner at Red Marlin the night before) We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful experience we had. We sat outside next to a firpit. There was live music which was very nice. The service was GREAT! The food was delicious (except for the lukewarm french onion soup) We enjoyed the entire evening!

Amazing staff and good food!

By Gretchen M |

Each day we had at least one if not two meals on site. Staff was excellent and it was nice to sit outside while enjoying the views and weather.

at the Dana on Mission Bay

By Bookworms2010 |

Firefly has great chowder and a friendly staff/ Mid day snacks of ice cream and cookies was hard to beat! They offer outdoor dining and firepits to complement your experience

A great place to go at the end of the day.

By Hank B |

Great beer and wine, great food, great music. The staff are very friendly. And the game is on if you want. A great place to wind down at the end of the day. Just go!

Dinner with the family

By wheatonnitz |

We ate at Firefly several times and the food was good. I would have liked to see the menu change, since it is the only place on the grounds to eat. I have a picky kid that found it hard to find anything he would eat. The rest of us enjoyed the meals.

Very good food in a nice place to stay

By Bill H |

We had several meals at Firefly over the holidays. The morning breakfast buffet was well above average, with the made to order omelettes especially good. Also, the sausages were very good, not your usual tasteless grey matter. During breakfast the number of people varies rapidly, so be prepared if its crowded. Dinners were fantastic, especially the scallops and fish and chips.

Hotel Restaurant

By Sharon D |

It was decent food. The morning buffet, is good. Evening dinners are decent. Not much to choose from but good. A bit pricey, but I was on vacation so who cares:) service was slow. Not terrible but not great either.

Wonderfull food and staff

By Luxurybroker7 |

Even though the kitchen and wait staff were very busy with a large wedding outside the Firefly we were served quickly, staff was very attentive and the food was wonderful.

Breakfast....

By mayreyestan |

Good choices for breakfast and lunch. They have an omelet station, though does not serve egg whites or egg substitute. A variety of dishes for lunch.

6 meals, each was excellent.

By LP C |

This on site restaurant offered outstanding and delicious food each and every meal. The staff was very accommodating, especially David in the a.m., Ryan at the bar, and Juan who seemed to be everywhere. For waterfront SoCal eateries, the 10$ hotel guest breakfast buffet is an oustanding value. Adding the 3$ Bloody Marys and Mimosas made it hard to get further than the pool a few days!!! :-)

Amazing - a must visit!

By Scotsgirl73 |

We had a date night here during our holiday to San Diego and couldn't imagine a better place to have spent it. Beautiful setting, attentive and efficient waiting staff and the food is just incredible - especially the desserts. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some really great food in an incredible setting. Up there on my list of one my favourite meals of all time.

What an awesome establishment!

By Lila S |

We had an awesome time celebrating our rehearsal dinner at FireFly Eatery & Bar. The manager, Juan was outstanding, professional and on top of everything. Our waiter, Omar was simply amazing; not only he was attentive to all the guests needs, he did a fantastic fire coffee show. Finally, the decore, food and ambiance were beyond our expectations. We have been here before and will continue celebrating here with Juan, Omar and the crew.

Breakfast horrible & expensive. Duck tacos yeccky! The remainder menu ok but pricey. just don't get the $30 breakfast buffet!

Easily seated with large group and everyone raved about the food and service

By dcpky |

We walked over here from Paradise Point and enjoyed the walk and the food very much. I had the sea bass and risotto and almost licked the plate - it was perfect! Others at the table agreed and the ones who got other items like the filet, soups, macaroni, etc., were all pleased with their entrees. Nice find tucked into another resort.

Thanksgiving lunch

By Kate J |

Came in for Thanksgiving lunch and had a great time! Our server Kim was awesome, made great recommendations (I got a cheeseburger since I wasn't in the mood for turkey). Everything was delicious and she kept those ice tea refills coming! Definitely coming back again!!

Cesar , Alex, Sydney, Ashley

By morganjanine |

Today was stopped by the Firefly restaurant for an afternoon lunch. We were greeted by Ashley, she was super friendly and considerate of our seat choice. We were seated at the bar and we were immediately greeted by Cesar whom was very very friend and accommodating. Sydney was on top of everything always refilling our drinks as we finished them. Alex was also very helpful with food and drink recommendations.

AWFUL!

By Jill G |

Clam chowder can be used as wallpaper paste...chicken breast can be used as a hockey puck and the crab cake can be used as the glue....upset? more than upset, disgusted with how this happens? used to be so nice here, not anymore :(

Firefly For the Win!!!

By Bridget |

We had 7 of 10 of our meals at the Firefly during our stay. If we were breakfast eaters that number would be higher. We did see the breakfast buffet being broken down and it looked amazing. Friendly staff, amazing menu and great ambiance. I had the tuna salad 3 times I loved it so much. Lucky thing I am a local because I have already been back for some tortilla soup and guacamole.

$5 beer flight brought me in but so much more to love

By Guy GD |

Thursday $5 beer flights are amazing. Of about 20 quality beers on draft any are available for the beer flight (choose 4). The surprise knockout was the food. Given this is a hotel serving families I’d expected good but mediocre food. This was well above. The watermelon with cherry tomatoes came with lettuce and a neat dressing and was generously sized. The pan roasted salmon was delicious accompanied by squash and small new potatoes and the chocolate cake didn’t disappoint either. Overall a welcome surprise of a hit.

Pleasant meal

By In_pursuit_of |

Tried the meatloaf here which was pleasant and also had dessert (lemon and blueberry cheesecake which was really good). There are less costly places to eat but the quality here was very good and the meal seemed good value. The service was also good.

Pretty good.

By Saschanke |

We stayed at the Dana three days this past September. Only had coffee and one lunch of their calamari appetizer one day. Everything was very good and the staff was very friendly. A little pricey for three meals a day.

Loved their breakfasts.

By RosebudQB |

Loved the staff. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffets. The rest of the food at lunch and dinner was a different story. The tomato bisque was lovely but the grilled cheese was awful. The same with dinner, chicken was delicious but the rest of the dinner was o.k..

Family vacation week at the Dana Hotel and Spa, Mission Bay, San Diego.

By Gary T |

Great Hotel and great restaurant and bar. The food and service were excellent. The beverage service at pool side was terrific, with great tropical drinks from the bartenders. Very relaxing stay.

A difficult pre wedding lunch

By john b |

We needed something to eat at the Dana before a 5 pm wedding and chose the on site restaurant for a light lunch. My wife had a salad and I the chicken wrap. The food was very bland, even the salad dressing. The service was what was the real problem. We were the only ones inside the very small restaurant, but it took a long time to order. Getting water and refills on water was a pain ending with my getting up to go to the bar. The food needed help and with no salt or pepper on the table I again had to get up to find someone to get them for us. All this lack of attention while we could see 5 servers/bartenders standing within shouting distance watching the soccer game on the tv. This experience really started our Dana experience poorly. When we later talked with other wedding guests we found we were not alone and others had had the same issues. Went across the street to the Hyatt for the next mornings breakfast, as did others.

Great lunch, terrible dinner

By Stephen F |

We ate here twice during our one night stay before we travelled to the amazing delights (yes, I’m being ironic) of Tijuana. Lunch was superb and also great value. I had the clam chowder with a flat bread and my wife had the sea bass. Both excellent and inexpensive. Unfortunately dinner was the opposite. My huge slab of barely penetrable meat loaf was placed on top of a massive helping of practically inedible mashed potato and slathered in a sweet BBQ sauce. In-between were sandwiched a few pieces of asparagus. I ate about a quarter of it. The kitchen also messed up my wife’s burger twice. The service from the waiters at both lunch and dinner was excellent, but the food took ages to arrive for dinner - around 40 minutes. We’re guessing that was because a large group had arrived shortly before we did, but it was frustrating nonetheless. We got creme brĆ»lĆ©e for dessert, which was fairly tasty but served stone cold. Nor was there much brĆ»lĆ©e going on! To be fair, the restaurant comped our dinner entrees, so Firefly did the right thing. I suspect we got them on a bad night for dinner and would be inclined to give them another chance, particularly as the lunch was so good.

Cesar B the bartender

By Amanda G |

We found this bar on a whim but we return because of Cesar the bartender! He has always made us feel so welcome and he remembers our favorite drinks and our favorite foods! The Firefly is SO lucky to have this WONDERFUL young man on their team!

Mixed Bag

By WalhondingGal |

This is a rather small eatery. We had dinner as the weather was horrible. The server was great, and we were treated well. My daughter's meal was the best. The selections were too spicy for us. The next day, my daughter and I went to the breakfast buffet. We stayed at the hotel but was billed for the full price instead of the discounted rate for those who stayed at the hotel. Fernando's omelets were very good and made the price of the buffet fine. There was a group at the time we were there. We told that there was only one table as the rest were for the group. Our other option was to eat at the bar. Since the weather was not great, eating outdoors was not an option. Our server seemed to want to get us out immediately and was rude. My daughter said the server tried to take her cellphone.

Excellent experience.

By cjdorais |

We enjoyed two dinners at the Firefly. Both were excellent. It can be a bit noisy inside, but weather permitting there is plenty of outside seating.

Alwlays clean

By Kathy C |

The weather wasn't very nice so we ate inside. That's OK but I enjoy outside better. The team members were attentive.

Food was delicious

By Chris |

Was visiting the area. Had dinner at this restaurant for the first time. Great vibe, friendly service, and most important...food was delicious. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection.

Nice venue, poor service.....

By Anthony Bailey |

This place was on property so we tried it out one night for dinner. After ordering they forgot to tell us that they were out of what I ordered until 15 min after they placed the order. I was highly upset that the waitress didn't bother to tell me until they were about to bring the rest of the plates. Things happened and i ended up ordering something simple to replace this item Probably wouldn't try this place anymore. Fire pits outside did look cool but service takes them out of contention. manager did comp my replacement meal but the damage was done. It was the one dark spot on a brilliant vacation.

Decent with highlights

By Lisa G |

Breakfast here is worth it at the half-price for resort guests rate. Not recommended to pay more than that. There are hot items and breads, and an omelet station, and all was solid but not inspiring. I also ate lunch on my own. Wine list was solid - California Pinot Grigio was excellent. The edamame were terrific in their garlic soy sauce. The rice bowl (with steak) was completely uninspired. Huge chunks of red onion and peppers (seriously?!) with some greens and the steak was overcooked and low quality. The teriyaki sauce was monotone (mostly sweet) and not nearly as good as the garlic soy sauce on the edamame (I ended up pouring the one into the other). Serving size was large - more than adequate and a good value. Highlight was the setting outdoors and the service which was attentive at breakfast and dinner and friendly.

Great place for breakfast, dinner or cocktails

By hamlinterry |

We were staying at The Dana which is also fantastic and were very pleased with the attention to detail paid by the waitstaff at this wonderful restaurant.

The firefly at the Dana San diego

By Lou B |

I am staying at the Dana and the Firefly is the restaurant / bar here. My friend and I were so happy with the personnel that work there that we had to write a quick review. Miguel, and Carla were the wait staff and Ivan was our bartender. They were so friendly and helpful. The selections of food and drink they guided us to get were straight on perfect! Ivan makes the absolute best Expresso Martini that I have ever had! I just want to say thank you for one of the best dining experience of this vacation !

Firefly Restaurant

By 48Maryann |

The restaurant has a wonderful buffet breakfast each AM. It includes juice, coffee, tea, hot and cold cereal, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, granola, yogurt, muffins, bagels, sliced bread, donuts, etc. Lunch and dinner are ordered from the menu. Room service is also available. You have a choice of eating inside or outside.

A bit pricey, but GREAT food and Service!!

By buddyb1021 |

This is the main restaurant at the Dana. It is situated close to the marina, and the large pool and hot tub. The food is EXCELLENT, and the service is even better. If Carla is your server, you are in for a treat!!

Breakfast Buffet

By Heidi S |

The food at the Breakfast Buffet was excellent. Custom made to order omlets, fresh fruits, cereals, proteins, and the french toast was amazing!! The service was great too!

average to terrific if you order the right thing

By Zulu |

we were staying at the hotel. First thing I must say is the staff - servers etc are fabulous. welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food, however, can be hit or miss. We are not meat eaters so we are limited, but we found good stuff to eat, enough that we ate here four of the 5 nights of our stay. The hits are the soups, the broiled brussels sprouts which are fabulous and the macaroni and cheese - cheesy creamy and sinful. A small but good wine and beer list offers nearly everything you might want. so that is the good. Stick to small plates and a desert and you will be happy. the morning bagels were also really good. We had a few things I would not recommend. The calamari was awful and the scallops were not great. However, I give this place an very good because the staff are so lovely, it is so convenient for a small tasty meal after a busy sightseeing and shopping day, and we were able to have our dogs sit with us - a big plus.

Breakfast Buffet and Happy Hour

By DadTraveler |

I cannot speak for lunch or the dinner menu but the Breakfast Buffet and Happy Hour have their highlights. We went for breakfast and as a hotel guest at the Dana on Mission Bay you get a 50% discount. This is good because it would not be worth $30 for an adult and $20 for a child. The buffet is good with a nice selection of hot items like potatoes, french toast, bacon and sausage, waffles and a made to order omlette. In addition, they have cereal, oatmeal, pastries, and more. The seating is mostly outside with a great view of the pool and the marina. We also went for Happy Hour on a Monday and they had $5 margaritas and it was really good. With the purchase of a margarita on a Monday you receive complimentary chips and salsa, which was fresh and good. We also ordered the Korean Chicken Wings, Cesear Salad, and Calamari. All the food was good and was a decent value at Happy Hour from 3-5pm Monday-Friday. The location of this restaurant overlooking the pool and marina is beautiful. If you are staying at the Dana on Mission Bay, it is worth visiting otherwise there are better options in San Diego.

Great pool service

By sophiamonteroso |

We had a lovely time at the Dana. Great pool service by Bianca. It is a very family friendly hotel. Bianca and the servers are great!!

good food

By nikbelo |

The breakfast was yummy and quick. We ate the buffet and with the resort fee, the food was discounted.

Great service and food

By Jay M |

Great fish and chips and fish tacos. Nice bayside setting, right at the hotel. Service was very good and friendly. Fast bar service. Great place to eat if your at the Dana. Med range price.

Breakfast, Lunch and a late night snack

By MrsK45963 |

We ate at the hotel's restaurant for a few reasons, it was close to our room, it had an excellent view and atmosphere and the food was great ! The service was high quality!

Great food, lovely ambience

By olajane |

Fresh, delicious, and wonderful service. Loved the salads, the calamari, and the outdoor firepits. Looking forward to coming back.

Nice beer and wine lists

By EarlfE |

Reasonable bottle prices for a restaurant/bar. Personable staff and attentive service. Decent food. Outside seating available.

Good place but very less choice of food

By Vinod Wahi |

We being veggies try to have dinner here but could not find enough choices. Despite the friendly staff & their help the food was very average. Tomato soup we ordered was a bad gravy and not soup. Pasta was equally bad. Being host to international travellers like us they should improve on these as now veggies are increasing day by day. Don't know about non veg.

Nicely arranged food with excellent quality

By Urs M |

Had lunch and dinner there. Lunch was early (was too late for breakfast), so I did choose a flat bread. It was not to thin nor the thick. The bread had a crispy base. there was not too much cheese on it. The balsamico made it. Dinner was a bit more busy. It was somewhat cold, so I ate inside. They have heater / fire on the outside, but if it's windy, that doesn't help. Had a filet mignon. Order it medium raw to get it medium! The mash and the haricots were perfect. I also had a dessert. The chocolate tart with fruits was perfect. Not that much. The Firefly has the food nicely arranged. It's not advisable for the very hungry. If you like beer, have a look into the menu. They serve some very nice craft beer.

Friendly staff and unforgettable dinner

By vkreative s |

Stayed for the 4th of July weekend and everyone was friendly and helpful, thanks for making our stay so delightful. The place is a gem, tropical gardens, beautiful mission bay view from the room which are very clean and confortable, for good reference on spots to visit while in town check the bar at the firefly restaurant Paul the bartender it’s a great guy courteous and fun with a lot information about places to see, he helped us plan our weekend while we sipped some great cocktails, Thanks Dana we’re coming back next year.

Dinner here few days ago. Good food but didn't like the inside seating

By Gloria L |

Ate outside because there was too many TVs inside. Had calamari which was crispy & delicious. Then had fresh white fish; with delicious veggies. Dining companions enjoyed their meals too. Service was good too.

No need to go elsewhere!

By webatweb |

Were staying at the Dana and found no reason to go offsite for dinning. The food is very good, service equal and ambience over the top. Nothing like having diner outside overlooking the bay with live music. Try the flatbread entries and if you like steak the 22oz ribeye is your cup of tea.

Delicious dinner menu

By wlparks |

We had the sea bass with risotto. It was so scrumptious! What surprised me was how flavorful the risotto was. We usually like to order off their dessert menu after a late night swim. We ordered cheesecake, creme brulee and some donut dessert. Unfortunately the desserts were not as good as the past. The portions were also very small for the price. We had breakfast there too. You use to be able to order a la cart, now you just order the breakfast buffet. It has a huge variety of breakfast items, but for people who just want something small, they need to add back a menu with choices for breakfast (not just the buffet).

Waiter Salvador

By barbara k |

We have been going to The Dana for years. Which we love. The last 4 yrs we’ve had the privilege of having Salvador wait on us at the Firefly cafe. He goes above and beyond. Never lets your coffee get cold. All around exceptional service. Plus, their food is great

great food.

By Sarah T |

Hearty, tasy meals. Evening meals, good valve. Breakfast expensive. Good atmospehere. We used this restaurant many times during our stay.

The only good thing was the kraft Mac and cheese...

By Katecliff |

We ate here a few times during our stay. The wings were soaked in the sauce of cold chicken. Not sure how long the food had been sitting around. The fact that we got our food 3 min after ordering should have been telling. The second time, we ordered the crispy chicken. It was a frozen chicken (chicken that had been through the food processor) that I’m sure I’ve had from the grocery store only I know to cook it long enough for the middle to not be cold like ours was. So disappointed. I’m guessing they don’t have a chef, but some support staff cooking away. The only good thing was the kraft Mac and cheese from a box...my son ate that:)

Alexa at pool side

By quailtrail |

I would like to say that alexa the coctail waitress was amazing!!!Very nice an professional. She would always make sure our drinks were on point an ask if the kids needed anything. Overall very happy with our stay there would definitely go back SOON!!!!THANKS ALEXA FOR YUR AWSOME SERVICE! !

Delicious. Friendly.

By Loren N |

Picked up a meal to-go right before closing on my way back to my room. Friendly staff. Great setting if you want to sit outside.

South Cove hot spot on Mission Bay

By BeachCityGirl |

What a fun spot. Indoor and outside seating View of the boats on the bay. Great location, plenty of parking and nice spot for client meetings or Happy Hour.

Good food, good service, a little pricey but very convenient

By Crimitorii |

It's really the only convenient place to eat if you're staying in the resort, unless you drive into town (San Diego) where there are more restaurants and even a Whole Foods. Fits Gordon Ramsay's definition of a good restaurant - not a huge selection but good food and not exorbitant prices. We ate there twice for the convenience, once on arrival, and another night.

beautiful location on the harbor @ mission bay

By wagner6 |

We stayed for 4 nights and dined at the Firefly over the weekend. David G. was our waiter and he went well beyond being friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on the area attractions. His restaurant service was outstanding, We give him 5 Gold stars for helping in any way he could. Thank you for the welcoming atmosphere he created each day we dined! Also the property is Pet Friendly!

Breakfast buffet

By troyster126 |

The breakfast buffet offers an omelet bar which is very good with fresh ingredients plus fruit and other nice food items. Don't forget to try a mimosa.

Daily food and drink specials. Outdoor seating was comfortable. Great drink and wine menu. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Great breakfast buffet

By Kim P |

Really delicious offerings. The 1/2 off happy hour food and drink menu is perfect to just relax and enjoy in a very chill location with nice views. The service staff are so friendly and on their game. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day.

Delicious!...glad we stayed @ adjacent hotel...worth going anyway!

By mbf18 |

Enjoyed wonderful generous lunches and a dinner...brussel sprouts great along with all the food and wine by the glass. Lunch outside by the pool and view...Service very good.I had to select 1 choice in TripAdvisor - dinner or lunch - had both.

Convenient - Upscale or relaxed

By Zen411 |

This was definitely a do not miss while we stayed at the Dana Inn. I have been coming to this hotel since I was a kid. They have done a nice job updating the hotel and while still feeling like a resort. This restaurant is great. We had lunch and dinner here (stayed in San Diego 6 days) Once for lunch out of necessity (mac n chz is amazing, brussel sprouts and chz plate) and dinner. Each time was very good. Food and service is very good. It was very busy (last week of vacation) but the scallops and filet were fantastic. So nice to eat, drink, then saunter back to room.

Terrible food & Service!

By J W |

We waited over an hour for breakfast on Saturday morning and when our food was finally received it was cold and absolutely terrible. My husband spoke to the front desk regarding this and was told by the front desk personnel that the hotel did not have any authority over the restaurant because it was operated by a separate company, no acknowledgement of the issue or apology was given. However, if it’s on the hotel property as part of an amenity then the hotel should be responsible for any issues that arise.

Breakfast bar had chicken fried rice and tasty sausages.

By Anjala E |

And great custom made omelettes. Customer service was very attentive. The espresso mocha was pretty but not very chocolaty.

Soup and Salad. Did not disappoint.

By MAB S |

Dropped in for a small snack. Ordered Caesar Salad and a bowl of clam chowder. It was DELICIOUS! There was also outside seating with firepits. Great place for fun, romance or a group!

Service Alone is Worth it

By OnYourMarkTravel |

We loved the staff at this place. Whether it was the hostess, our waitress, or even the omelet guy, we felt they all were happy to help us and very professional at the same time. Our waitress was very accommodating with our children's needs and continued to be attentive to our table regardless. The restaurant itself was very nice inside and outside. We dined outside on the patio, but partook at the buffet inside. The buffet was laid out very nice and alined, but certain parts left food overflowing onto the table and spills (both dry and wet) made their way onto the floor. We might have caught them at a bad time, but I felt that when half of the buffet was over flowing, the other half was almost empty, something was off balance. As for the food, they offered a good variety, but for what you pay (without a discount), it is not much more than a free hot breakfast you'd get at a neighboring restaurant. Granted they had a wonderful omelet guy, but the rest of the buffet consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal and pasteries, I was honestly expecting more.

Great meal. Great service.

By Charles K |

We are locals and stopped by the Firefly for a bite. What a terrific delicious surprise. Food was great but the service was a total joy. Made my day. Our server's name was Bianca. She was exceptional and great fun. The food arrived in a timely...and delicious fashion. We went with Bianca's strawberry salad recommendation and were pleased and delighted. We knew you are a great hotel..but YaY! Dana On Mission Bay for making sure even your restaurant is 'tops in taps'!

Great Fresh Seafood!

Very cozy place. Good coffee and good food. Some table has a firepit in the middle. Not expensive. Open till 11pm.

First-rate service! Tasty meals!

By Wendybeth16 |

I recently stayed at the Dana and during my stay ate several meals at the conveniently located on-site restaurant, the Firefly Eatery and Bar. On all my visits to the restaurant, the service I received was first rate. Moreover, the meals I chose were delicious - meatloaf, scallops and short ribs. The restaurant is not large as far as inside seating; however, there are numerous outdoor tables available - with heaters if the weather warrants. My stay in San Diego hit a chilly spell so I opted for indoor eating. The restaurant can get busy. Once when there was no available table inside, the attendant correctly predicted my wait time (not terribly long) - and called me in my room (a few steps away) when the room was ready so I could relax in comfort during the wait. The staff was very attentive to this traveler who was on her own. I arrived there one evening, very close to the end of serving time -I received expeditious service to ensure I received the meal of my choice. Very nice to have a good on-site meal source after a day of touring. I'd visit again.

Nice quiet restaurant with very pretty outdoor seating

By Beverly D |

Had several meals here, mostly ate outside under umbrellas during the day, with nice view of the pool - food was consistently good, as was the service.

Better than you might expect

By Tom A |

Captive restaurants within a resort or hotel aren't always the best, but this one will surprise you! For dinner our family had the seared tuna salad, the barbeque chicken flatbread, and the shrimp dishes, and all were excellent and not overpriced. Portions were not huge, but that's a good thing for most people! For breakfast, we would have preferred a less expensive option, but the food selection was very good.

Fire Away

By Jeff M |

Firefly was a great choice for my 1st meal in town. In fact, it was almost too nice for lunch. :) I ordered the ceviche as an appetizer. Their ceviche came with yellowtail tuna and a nice amount of lime. Um, wow. My meal was the fish tacos which were also very good. My waitress was always there to help, was excellent and made me welcome. Firefly is a great addition to the Dana. I also experienced their guacamole app and calamari as a part of a happy hour sponsored by the company leading the workshop I was attending on site. Those were also quite good. I did not have the pear cider, but heard it was phenomenal and the nut brown ale was really good as well. Come to Firefly and enjoy yourself.

Staff at the Firefly were great!

By astor95 |

We have a family of 7 and stayed at the Dana for 5 nights. On several mornings we had a server named Kelly. She was fantastic! She always made sure we had just what we needed and even came to the lobby to tell us our table was ready early. She is an excellent asset to the Dana. It is rare to find a server who is so attentive and good at what they do. Thanks to Kelly for starting each morning of our vacation off the right way for us!

Excellent Food, Service and Atmosphere

The Firefly has great menu offerings. Outdoor dining with a nice view of the the bay and marina. I really like the braised beef short rib. Great place for happy hour with live music.

Super Yummy Breakfast Buffet

By 2TravelOn101 |

Went to the Sunday Breakfast Buffet. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food looked and tasted absolutely delicious! There was scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage, pancakes, French toast, oatmeal, fresh fruit, an omelette bar, and bagels and toast. It was all so very yummy and we were able to eat outside in the patio with heaters. All very reasonably priced for Sunday brunch!

Morning buffet to remember.

Excellent weekly buffet. Great value and beautiful setting. Bianca was helpful, happy and excellent personable Sever.

More misses than hits

By TaxLass |

We went here based on the TripAdvisor reviews and were a bit disappointed. Misses. Even though we had reservations and the restaurant was two thirds empty, we were seated at a crappy table right next to the bar sink. We moved to another table by the window with a view. No one approached us for about 10-15 minutes, probably our fault since we had moved. We had to ask for silverware. We ordered a wine including the bin number and were served the wrong wine. We ordered ceviche which was good but had way too many chips and not enough ceviche. Brussels sprouts had good flavor but were swimming in oil. Hits: Beautiful location, and the scallops were to die for.
