we've been coming to flying fish for yrs, from the food carts to ne sandy, and to e. burnside finally after cycling yesterday for lunch....we were masked up....we each had a lager that began with a k....refreshing...next, we shared the grilled salmon salad and a fish taco....delicious as always....the staff is very safety conscious during phase 1 covid 19 re opening...the outside tables are excellent. be sure to tip big during these challenging times..you pay with a card only...afterwards we bought some smoked salmon and a can of sardines from the shop....thx so much!...new address is 3004 e. burnside 97214

Loved the delicious dinner. You won’t be disappointed! The music and drinks added fun to the evening. Come early and enjoy a great meal!

I absolutely love Flying Fish Co for their delicious oyster bar, cocktails, fish entrees and atmosphere. This trip I started with a half dozen oysters, with their signature margarita. Fish tacos for entree was best I’ve had in quite some time. Always find time to visit Flying Fish when I’m in town. Never disappoints.

Stopped in to buy fresh mussels, clams and firm white fish to make cioppino. Had to add a dozen fresh oysters as an appetizer. Yum, yum, yum. Fantastic fresh quality! Several couples were waiting to be seated for dinner - but we were cooking at home tonight. Highly recommend

Fantastic oyster selection at the oyster bar. Enjoyed the smoked salmon platter and a dozen oysters with my fiancé. We really enjoyed all of their fresh oysters.

Met some friends here for dinner. I had the salmon burger everyone else had fish and chips. All quite good. Ate on the patio. We had a nice time. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice seafood market inside.

Ordered a four pieces - only rock fish - no cod - with fries. Solid fish. Tiny portion, however. Fries are good. High price point. A long wait

When the People's Pig went out, I was bummed because I liked that place. But I heard it was changing to Flying Fish so thought that sounded great. We went OUT to eat last night for the first time in months (because of Covid) and decided to give it a try. Very friendly people - seated outside quickly. Then the disappointment. I ordered chowder to start and it was - truly - the worst clam chowder I've ever tasted. Like a few pieces of potato and bacon were dropped into a pile of corn starch with the consistency of glue. No taste - so spice - no clams. Absolutely horrible. Then the fish and chips. Now the fish seemed nice and the batter was crisp and light, but, honestly, fish and chips are merely a vehicle for tartar sauce for me and their tarter sauce is inedible. It is lumpy and tastes like alfredo sauce. I actually got a to-go box so I could take the fish home and eat it with decent tartar sauce. My wife liked her fish tacos and, again, the service was good. They just really need to rethink their chowder and tartar sauce menus. I hope they do.

Just great fish and knowledgeable, friendly service. Who could ask for anything more? Hint: there's a line at 4:30 pm Probably a good reason

This place has the best oysters in town. Super easy to reorder more. Prices are what you would expect at a popular and quality place in Portland, maybe slightly on the pricey end. Oh, and the steelhead fish sandwich is amazing too.

oyster bar outside with cover patio area available while we waited to be seated. short wait on a Monday night. wild catch + rice was so good with side of jalapeño cilantro kale salad. street parking only.

I was expecting a seafood restaurant, but this was a market with an oyster bar, pastries, bread, meats, cheeses, fish, and wine. Really awesome place. A lot of the oysters were flown in fresh that day. It’s safe to say I tried most of them and a few local beers. Everyone else that was there was a local and telling me he good spots (this being one of them) that aren’t really known about an touristy spots. Stop in here! Get some oysters and the local run down.

Oyster Bar with fresh selection shucked right there in front of you, nicely served on an ice platter with most any sauce you'd like. Beer - limited selection but what's available is OK and somewhat local - within OR and WA. Excellent Ceviche. Included in this large space is a coffee counter, cheese and meat deli, fresh breads wonderful selection of imported foods and wines...all in all a great surprise for us as we were looking for the Maritime Seafood Bar & Grill which is permanently closed.

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon. At the front desk we ordered the spicy tuna poke and 3-piece fish and chips. Was asked if we wanted a side and said yes to the aoli of the choices, No mention of cost but discovered later we were charged 75 cents for this. Rather deceptive. Waited a full half hour for the food to arrive and asked for our promised change which soon arrived. Probably wanted us to forget about it so it could be pocketed. Food was good - poke was spiciest of a any item ever received at s restaurant in our 65 years. Probably would not return due to lackluster service.

Came here on a whim after hiking. Ordered on their website which was square. It defaults tip To 20% and if you don't scroll down on your phone before you continue to payment -- you won't see it. That's dishonest and a bit sheisty in my opinion. I brought it to their attention and girl at counter said she doesn't think it adds the tip automatically but i figured out how it happens. Tipping is for a service rendered and adding $6 to pick up food wouldn't be my first option. Give me the option in an honest way. The food was good although small portions. Prob won't come back because of the way they have their online ordering set up. Shady.

Think twice before eating here! I received the most painful bee sting from a large wasp the moment I sat down at one of the outdoor tables. There was food on the ground bringing the wasps to forage. I told the staff and all they did was bring me some ice. While the fish and chips were excellent, the ambience was quite loud from street noise and over talkers. The place was dirty, too - hence the wasps. If we go back, it will ONLY be for takeout. There is no indoor seating.

This great restaurant is now located at 3004 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214. The good is great and delicious. The service is friendly even if they’re a little slow during the busier hours. Seating is limited so we ate outside. The owner shared his plans for expanding seating and adding a fire pit and more.

Oyster bar changes daily, as well as the fresh fish offered for purchase or dine in. This place rocks!!!

Stopped in with 3 family members for a drink and fish & chips. The staff was very friendly, service was fast & efficient, and the rockfish & chips tasty! The plate comes with house-made tartar sauce, a very tasty citrus cilantro slaw and crispy Jojo potato fries. A great choice when you're craving seafood!

The chioppino soup had a few pieces of squid a few small white things not recognizable and lots of onions broth was decent but NO seafood at that price and Covid should have not ordered poke was mushy what little seafood received was old and frozen so sad

My recent visit to Flying Fish left me with mixed feelings. While the clam chowder was good but a bit too thick, the salmon, while high-quality, was over-sauced, masking its natural flavor. The service was rather impersonal, making it a decent but not exceptional dining choice.
Super surprise
Great fish dinners. Tacos, steelhead salmon slaw, poke bowl. Cocktails well made, not skimpy on alcohol. Great staff
