Amazing tots.....

By Greta G |

This place was okay!!! The beer selection lacked the local craft beer. They did have some but the majority was out. Bad problem to have I suppose. Poor selection of ciders as well. I did however have a hummingbird and that was quite tasty. I was only able to have one because it was quite sugary. Had the prime rib sandwich with tator tots. Do yourself a favor and order two servings of tator tots.

Great drinks, Great atmosphere!

Went here on May 4 after another bar ran out of Hop Solo glasses. Pints 4 Prostrates glasses were the Hop Solo glasses! Saved again by the Saucer!

Insane number of beer choices and crowds

By Scuba_Divers |

This restaurant is doing something incredibly right. There is *always* a crowd. We opted to sit outside on a Saturday afternoon in the summer heat ... and had to wait 20-30min. Inside wait was longer. I'm not a fan of the pizza here - but do love their burgers and sandwiches. And just how many varieties of beer do they have? More than you can begin to imagine - which actually makes it very hard to pick just one. Dogs are welcome outside on a leash (and well behaved) - this is San Antonio after all. Inside is more of a sports bar and outside - depending on day/time - can be kids' baseball team players or young singles mixer. Service inside is faster than outside.

Cool joint

By Tyne_B |

My husband is just starting to learn about craft beers and we were told about this place from a server at another restaurant- so naturally we had to check it out. Way cool! I'm not a beer drinker, the server was super helpful bringing me drinks to test out, hummingbird h2o... DELISH!! Food is bar food, but very tasty! Our server was great, LOTS of beer to choose from. The atmosphere was good- we were there on a Friday afternoon, so it was a little quiet. Hubby signed up for UFO membership, so we'll de be visiting this place in the future!

Great beer

By luvmy32000 |

This place is known in S.A. for its craft beers. The selection is awesome. The menu is designed to provide eats that go along with these great beers.

Best Beer Imporium

By Vanessa The Vivacious |

You can truly enjoy beers from all over the world here and have some great eats, try the Saucer Brotzel, it's to die for! With specials every day , you can spend next to nothing on some days and make memories indoors and out.

Great place to grab a brew.

By Michael S |

Great place to grab a brew. Huge selection and great servers. Been to most Flying Saucers, but San Antonio is the best. Managers rock and when in town I stop by. Do not get into town enough ☹️. Food is better than “bar food”, but the draw is the ever changing wall of draft beers. Also, join the club and work your way to you own “Saucer”(plate). Had the chicken snack tonight and some great brews.

Cool place with lots of seats

By Brandon A |

This place is huge. Great menu, and good drinks. Smoking allowed on the patio, which is where a lot of people sit to drink after kitchen closes.

Pretty good!!

By Jasmine N |

Amazing atmosphere, pet friendly and great food!!! I had an early dinner with friends there and I really enjoyed myself.

Short Stop in the "green"

By J S U S |

Nice place to stop with your dog for a brake during shopping. Good beer selection, not my favorite place for real "dinner" but great for "just relaxing" with a snack

Atmosphere is great, prices are ok

By Chele H |

Dog friendly outside. Didn't eat, so I don't know how the food is. Our waitress, Hannah, was amazing! She is super friendly and very helpful in drink selection. Accousticly its a bit loud but you can still talk without yelling. They have a large draft beer selection and bottled beer selection.

Mostly A Beer Joint, But Try The Soup!

By TallyHoHoHo |

Met a business client there for an afternoon meeting. His choice, not mine. It was sort of loud and more of a college hang out. The "Beer Goddesses" (that's what they have written on their chests) come by often enough, but since we were working and not drinking, refills of tea were sparse. The cheese soup in a bread bowl was quite good. I was pleasantly surprised. I had eaten here a couple of years ago and wasn't all that impressed. This visit was much better and they had wi-fi. If I were to describe the interior it would be a relaxed Benigan's. An upscale picnic joint. I wouldn't recommend it for working lunches, though. Go there and get rowdy. Go there and drink beer with your friends and gossip about the latest brouhaha at work. Younger guys will especially like the atmosphere and the server's scooped tees with writing that encourages them to look at their chests.

Good variety of beer, weird staff.

By Alhimself |

Lots of beers on offer. Scantily clad waitresses who don't make eye contact with the women at the table, but flirt with the boys. Decent sausages. Good atmosphere. Surly guy on the door for IDs making sure everyone knows he's boss, and nitpicking. Had a couple of good nights here. If you're local, you get your own plate on the ceiling if you drink 200 beers.

Great beer selection

By Vozdrad |

Amazing beer selection. You come for the huge draught beer selection but the food is great as well. German food or burgers but the salads are solid as well. Did I mention over 100 different beers!

Customer service?!!

By Connie C |

Went to the Saucer with my daughter and son-in-law...he is trying for his "plate". Monday is pint night..."eligible" beers are marked accordingly. My son-in-law ordered a beer that was marked for the pint special. The waitress came back and said it was not on the pint list . My son-in-law showed her the menu showing it was marked for the special. Waitress then went and talked to manager . Manager stayed it was a mistake on the menu and he would not honor the menu. Now we spent about $80 that night . The principle is that that idiotic manager would not budge in a frequent flyer customer who was spending $80!!!! My son-in-law could well afford the $2 BUT what ever happened to customer appreciation? I will tell everyone about the stupid manager at this bar/restaurant .

Great Tavern

By SnooksintheDesert |

What a great pub! My buddy works close by and took us here & we weren't disappointed. Amazing beer selection (200+) and seriously great bar food. Try the cheese fries. A fabulous time was had by one and all here!

Another good version of the "Draft Beer Emporiums" in this series of restaurants

By stella1st |

You know what to expect when you walk into a Flying Saucer: over 100 draft beers, fair prices and good food. At this Saucer, smoking is allowed in the outside seating area, so we decided to eat inside, a bit noisier, but smoke-free. The manager was very friendly (we had mentioned during a visit at the Columbia,SC Saucer we were coming here) and gave us 2 T-shirts plus alerted the manager at the Austin,TX Saucer, our next stop, to look for us. Food is always consistent: the Saucer Club is a great sandwich, my husband's favorite, and the side of warm German Potato salad is one of the best we've had anywhere. The grilled chicken over greens (with avocado and cucumber) is a good size salad and makes a meal. The soft Pretzels are fresh and terrific. We were glad we made the effort to get to this Saucer.

Beer.

By tedlit |

Best variety of draught beer in town, great food for a bar. Understandably it gets incredibly busy...!

different place, in a good way

By BartEnder_57701 |

Had beers & finger foods after a burial service there with family. Staff was UBER attentive- took great care of the us. Prices were in line, selections of brews was good. Good was good, including having some vegan fare. Will visit it again when I'm in S.A. again.

great burgers

By Wesley L |

Been here on several occasions and have yet to have a bad meal. The burgers are great and the beer selection is huge.

Good for beer

By Betty M |

Very noisy, many beer choices, craft and international. Food is mediocre. It is a good place for meeting friends and beer

Best Reuben and Beer!

By Miles C |

Food menu is somewhat limited, but have selection of beers! I always get the Reuben. Last time we were here, my wife got the pizza and wasn't impressed. Brgers are great, though. So is the grilled cheese and tomato bisque.

I would only go there for the beers!

By mexicofriend |

Beers choice is great, staff very attentionate, but food is no more than OK. That';s the kind of place which if you love beer you will adore and if you don't then maybe try something else!

Great beer selection

By Larry E |

Great selection of beers. Food is typical pub grub but it is good and service was prompt and friendly. Not a good place for a quiet dinner or date but overall a good place to meet with friends.

Beer, beer........and MORE beer

By pky_pook |

Visiting HERE, was on "my" to-do list.... Imagine a Green Turtle on steriods/mixed with a REWARDS program....and you kinda have an idea of this place. Many of the beers offered...are brewed IN texas...which is kinda cool. they have a W I D E array of flavors, hops, etc...so if YOU simply want a Miller or Coors...this may not be the place for YOU. As you read the menu, you will notice various icons to the LEFT of many of the beers (star, cup, OR dot). If the cup is present, the alcohol content is HIGHER. Whereas the dots are available ON draft & stars = bottle selections. The place is very nice, with flat screens everywhere and very busy...we were there mid-day on a Saturday. We got an appetizer & sum wings and about 2-3 beers of varying hops & sweetness levels, in an effort to take in the atmosphere & enjoy the place. The "200+" saucers are EVERYWHERE and some have BLACK cloth over them... I urge you to ASK your server why that is...and see what they say. May I recommend the Sierran Nevada Pale, Granny Smith (kinda like an Angry Orchard), or the Banana Bread beer. Each gave unique smell and taste. Cool spot to take in a game...sit outdoors, VERY pet friendly too.

Pub grub. It's all right. The service is pretty slow.

By Valerie P |

Pub grub. It's all right. The service is pretty slow.

Don't expect to get a good service and good food... This is only place for a good beer...

By Missysnapshot201 |

Went in to greet some friends and we were ignored by waitresses. She didnt ask if we wanted anything. We waited and waited for the waitress, had to get her attention to stop and take our order. Isn't it her job to attend us and not us going after her??? We ordered food and some beer. The food was horrible and doesn't have the value as German food. Beer was okay. Only good thing is the bread and pickle. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and we aren't coming back. We rather go to Fredericksburg restaurants to get better service and great German food.

Disappointed....

By davidsR1803PZ |

I used to like this place, but the service and food quality was not even mediocre during my last two visits. The beer choices is all there is here. There's much better food and tastier cold beer options close by!

Casual & Craft

By Laura W |

We have been to the Flying Saucer a handful of times now, and we highly recommend! The large, ever changing craft beer selection being the biggest point. However don't place the food at second by any means! Everything we have tried has been outstanding and satisfying. Our most recent visit was for a couple brews and a shared spread of Farmers Table (which changes frequently) previously the stuffed jalapeños, with brats & sauerkraut. Everything is on point, staff always friendly, clean restaurant. Restaurant is family friendly, seat yourself. Also has outdoor, dog friendly patio seating.

Great but....

By Jim B |

I stop in about once a week for the beer selection and good atmosphere. But there is one thing they could improve on that would make it a 5 star rating. Basically the service sucks, you need to grab a server when your half done with your drink so maybe you will get it when your finished with the first. There once was a girl there with a lot of tats, I think her name was Sara, but everyone would ask to set in her section be because she was very speedy with the drinks. To bad she is no longer there. Anyway after sitting there today with some friends and looking at our empty glasses and hoping to get a refill we decided to go elsewhere for our weekly gathering.

Nice vibe

By Ryan C |

This place is great: fantastic bear selection, good specials throughout the week, superb wait staff, and did I mention a great beer selection? Many 16 oz drafts at $5/ea. Nice atmosphere with a large indoor space and some outside seating. Great music mix. Sports on a few tv's--very inclusive vibe. Dart boards. Chess boards on some tables. I would come back if I lived in the area. Did not try the food.

Good place for a laid back time

By BoonieStomper99 |

We dropped in today (our third visit) for lunch and sat outside on the patio. Dogs are allowed on the patio, so FYI. There are tables with and without umbrellas, but we had no problem getting a table with. The beer options are extensive and the food menu provides lots of options. The service was good and when on that side of town, we will return.

Decent food, wide variety of beer

By jc019 |

The Flying Saucer is definitely the place to go in San Antonio if you want access to a wide variety of beer, and decent food. When you walk in, you see the reason they call it the Flying Saucer, because they let people buy their own plate to mount on the ceiling, which creates a unique decor. The food overall was good (better than your standard bar fare), but the service left something to be desired.

Great Beer Selection

By Milo |

Go there for the beer but the food is also good. The staff has been very friendly and have always had fun every time I go. Great place.

My Favorite German Beer is Here!!!

By Henddoo |

On Friday the 13th, we went looking for some good food and drink. We found this spot when we left my Brother-in-law's house. We were so excited to eat drink and be merry. The Falcons were smoking the Seahawks and the vibe was awesome. I had the Turkey Burger with a side salad and my favorite beer (Kristallweissbier). Needless to say, I enjoyed my food and I had an amazing experience. Kudos to the staff, I didn't have to wait to be seated and the price was right. I will be back...

Great place to drink

By Regina M |

Loved this place. Waitress "beer goddess" Rebecca is amazing. She made the visit memorable. This is a must visit if you enjoy craft beer and great food.

If you like beer, go here

By Paul G |

If you're a connoisseur of fine food, this place probably won't titillate your taste buds, but if you have a penchant for porters, this place will definitely float your boat. If you're local, join the UFO club and get a plate on the wall, it will force you outside your comfort zone and you'll try all types of outrageous beers. If you're just visiting, check out the New Arrivals board above the bar or penny pinchers can grab the "Fire Sale" for just about 3 bucks. Unrivaled beer menu in town, maybe a few places that can get close, but this one is pretty massive. Food is one step above your average bar food. Good sandwiches and burgers. If you're looking for something different try the Bratzel (bratwurst over pretzel) and if you're not real hungry try some Rocket-Tots. I think the signature item is probably the German Plate, 2 Usinger's Sausages w/side of sauerkraut and German potato salad.

Get the cobb salad!

By 19katy19 |

My husband and I were recently in San Antonio and enjoyed this restaurant so much, we came here twice! The first night it was $3 Texas pint night and they offered a nice variety of beer and cider. Since I'm not a big drinker, I wasn't sure what to get and the waitress brought me several tasters without me even requesting it. Excellent service. My husband and I split a Cobb salad and a pizza and we both agreed it was the perfect dinner for us. The Cobb salad was SO GOOD! The chicken on top was warm, the bacon crunchy. It does require you to cut ingredients and toss the salad when it comes to you, but the second time we came here I heard some guy order and he requested it come tossed, so I would do that next time. The second visit, they forgot the avo, but I didn't say anything because I feel uncomfortable doing so. The second visit we ordered the prezels, the salad and "little eataly" and I enjoyed the light, tender texture of the pretzel. Super satisfied overall!

Food is Decent!

By LMK101 |

We stopped there for dinner. It's a great place to meet someone for a meeting, or just with friends and family. The salads are good and the grill cheese and soup is tasty. The pick your pies are pretty good. The beers are still on the hoppy side so not a big selection for me. It gets crowded, so be prepared to settle for a table inside or out depending on your preference.

Nice place to seat down, drink a couple, watch a game or just chill with your crew. I really liked this joint. Great variety of beers, excellent service, great food, plus we got there in the middle of an awesome Happy Hour (can't beat that). Can't complain...Cheers!

Enjoyable dinner with our puppy

By Sarah S |

I went to this restaurant because I had seen that they had a dog-friendly patio and my husband and I wanted to bring our puppy (he’s three years-old but still a puppy to us) to dinner. The patio setting was perfect for a casual dinner outside with our pup. We got some beers and sandwiches and were able to hang out at our picnic table in a relaxed environment. We found the food to be average. I had a burger and my husband had the Reuben. If we go back then I’d probably stick with items off of the appetizer menu. The soft pretzels were definitely calling my name. Obviously, the enormous beer list is really what this place is all about. They had a great selection of draught and bottled selections. I didn’t see any wine or cocktail menus so I’m not sure if those are available at all. All in all, the Flying Saucer is a good option for a casual outing for beer and food. I personally would probably not go back for a full meal, but that’s ok. It was great for an al fresco meal with our dog.

Great place to drink a variety of beers

By halfNM |

Were from the Houston area and visit the two Flying Saucers there, so we decided to work on our "200" and check it out. The place is very nice, with flat screens everywhere and very busy. We got an appetizer, our three beers and enjoyed to place. I recommend the Don De Dieu beer, very smooth brown.

Servers Suck

By Caryn S |

The servers will try to kick you out as early as possible, also they Suck at serving. These are young girls who think they are cute little cats but actually just a waste of your time, this business needs to hire women who aren't lazy and don't give so much bad attitude to the customers, they definitely suck at their jobs here. Bartenders are good but that is it.

100's of Beers on tap, plus a UFO membership!

By Stamy P |

The food here is amazing, and the number of different beers that they have on tap is mind blowing. They have everything from ciders to dark stout beer, local, domestic, and foreign beers. The flying Saucer also has a beeknurd club with a UFo membership. The membership is $18, but you get a beerknurd T-shirt and several other benefits:After 50 beers, you will receive a $5 Gift Card - print the chit and hand it to your server. After 100 beers, you will receive a $10 Gift Card beer. After 150 beers, you will receive a Flying Saucer Hat, and the best, after 200 beers is the Ultimate Goal: they will hang a Commemorative Plate in the Ring of Honor with your name on it AND host a $100 party for you and your friends to come and see the unveiling of your plate. You have to really love beer to enjoy this one. The servers and bartenders are super friendly and attentive.

Fun, fun, fun. Great Beer!

By Bridgenutt |

Over 100 beer choices with many locally brewed favorites. This is one popular place, with great outdoor sitting. The German food is excellent. Great place to unwind, or just visit with friends. Additional parking is right past the restaurant in the movie theater lot.

Happy

By Gozz25 |

We always go to the Flying Saucer when we are in town! Love this place!! It's never disappointing! It's located at I-10 and Huebner. Daily specials and every Wednesday is glass night.

Lunch

By Amyandshaun |

On Mondays the fried shrimp plate with sweet potato fries is only $10. My husband said they were cooked really well and were very large. I had the nacho libre, while good and tasty they were a little cold by the time they got to me. Liked the atmosphere and the staff was nice.

Excellent venue with awesome staff!

By JohnTBolds |

The Flying Saucer is an awesome place to play some trivia and enjoy the best pretzels I’ve had in a long time. We were there for trivia night and it was good to see the staff involved and addressing concerns some of us had about a team that was obviously cheating. Who cheats at bar trivia? The beer selection was better than I expected, I recommend the Lindemans Pomme if you’re a fan of ciders or lambics without too much bite.

Don't come for the food come for the beer!

By Daniel R. |

An excellent beer selection is what drew me here. In that regard they did not disappoint. I only had soft pretzels to soak up the suds but they were standard good quality pub food.

Fun place for beer and friends.

By lockrey |

This was my first stop after arriving in San Antonio. Met friends and family there. Had the sampler. It was really a fun place. Ate chips and salsa on the patio and tried the different beers. They have so many to choose from. Very hip place. If you like microbrews you will love it. If you like Miller Lite then probably not.

Beer, beer and more wonderful beer

By AndrewJScott |

The beer selection is just simply wonderful. I have only visted once, but definitely plan to return. The services is not bad either, but it does get very busy.

Good Drinks, Noisy

By Michael M |

Tons of drinks on the menu, especially beer. Only had appetizers which were good. Went with a large work crowd (which appears to be a common thing to do after work, as the place was packed). Parking can be a bit of a pain, and it can be loud with all the saucers (plates) in the Wall.

familar with franchise, eager to try a new for us location

By joy |

we loved our raleigh n.c. flying saucer and have missed it since moving to texas several years ago.we recently we were spending a weekend in san antonio and got to check out the local version of the franchise. we immediately felt welcomed and at home. i'd been craving a lauren's goat cheese salad for ages and it was delish as always. and, of course, the beer selection is rarely to be rivaled. love the decor and seeing all the plates. a great casual beer heaven.

Awesome Beer Selection!!

By nupe357 |

The selection of beers here, both on tap and in bottles, is incredible! I only wish they had more Belgian beers on tap. However, it must be said that the selection of Belgian beer that they already have is not half-bad. The food at this place is actually pretty good as bar food goes but a bit on the pricey side.

Really cool place!

By DonnaO1127 |

We just had drinks here and the place was very cool. Serious beer establishment with a great energy. Casual and comfortable with an efficient wait staff.

The needle in the haystack!

By CMemoG |

A cousin of mine used to live in San Antonio. I'd go to visit her with my friends and/or my girlfriend and one day she took us to Flying Saucer. Since then I go there every time I'm in SA. You get 300+ brands of beer from all over the world served by great looking waitresses in a very relaxed environment. You can have a snack too and there are both inside and outside tables. I love non-touristic attractions, and this is definitely one of them. I recommend it to anyone who likes to have some beers and a nice time as well. If you are from SA or visit SA regularly, they have this club you can join and have your name stamped on a plate and put on display once you sample a certain number of beers, they also give you a party or something.

while business was at all time lows these days they asked me to leave. Good luck! It is a waste of time the same beers area available at other venues.

Terrible manager

By Jeret G |

The manager with tattooed eyebrows (and tattoos all over her arms and chest) shouted at our party in the middle of us having a good time drinking and playing games. We will never go back again.

Beer!

By David C |

This place has lost it's luster due to a decline in server attentiveness. Thier best servers have moved on to bigger, better things.

It's the beer, stupid!

By backpackluxury |

Texas has to be one of the worst states in the Union for beer. They still have some crazy regulations that restrict breweries from selling their beer on premises. OK, full disclosure, I live in Bend, Oregon, the epicenter of incredible brewpubs, but that doesn't change the fact that Texas is the Siberia of beervana. That is, unless you can locate one of the Flying Saucers in the State (Ft Worth one is my favorite). Excellent beer selection on draft. Truly something for any tastes. We went on a Friday evening... Packed! Sat outside. Surprised how fast the beers came out. Go for the beer. If you find something good to eat, good for you!

Flew Into this place....

By Mary B |

Having just seen Ironman 3 at the movies, I was ready for a beer. Love all the draft beer choices and a paper to provide details on any I was curious about. Added on a serving of nachos with chicken. Their nacho presentation is a bit different, but who cared while we drank and ate to our delight! TV's around the room, saucers all over the place, guy playing darts at one corner and everyone simply enjoying each others company inside or out on the patio. Service was good and a manager on duty jumped in when needed. I liked this place and could see how one could become part of their beerknurds....

Great Beer

By JERRY B |

This was an interesting place. I enjoy craft beer and this place had it all. Only wish had more time and space in the belly to try more. Will definitely go back if ever in San Antonio again. Girlfriend was a bit disappointed as she is more into wine than beer but they did have a couple varieties for her to choose from. Was a busy place and the décor was great.

Huge Selection of Beer!!

By Meso R |

Stopped here and was floored by the HUGE selection of beer!! They have tons of choices from all around. Food is not bad either- had a pretzel and it was fantastic!! Atmosphere is European influence. Service was good, staff were friendly and courteous. Overall was a great place to stop for cold beer and good food!! Would go back!

Great place to hang out with friends and drink beer.

By Patricia M |

Very popular place. Beer from all over the world. This place draws in a big crowd, especially during the sports season. Get there early. They also have a seating area outside. And for dog lovers, you can also bring Fido along, as long as you both sit outside. Great sausage and other German foods.

Good selection of beer, good food, and fun

By John L |

We went to the Flying Saucer on Trivia night. It was my first time at a restaurant that had a trivia game night. It was a lot of fun! The restaurant was full but service was still very attentive. Good selection of beer, good food, good service, and fun. I was very happy they had Samuel Smith beer. One of my favorites and hard to get.

RElaxed Outdoors

By J S U S |

Casual place with lots of beers. BUT: For a place that specializes on beer, pouring Weizen Beer into a regular glass is a sin :-( , therefore I have to deduct one point. They must know better!

Cool spot

By Dominic23 |

I decided to visit FS after years of not going. It's still the same. Pretty cool spot with a great beer selection and good specials. The service was friendly too. Have never had a bad time here. The hot dogs are great!

Visiting San Antonio

Enjoyed the wide selection of local craft beers and of course got another three for my boyfriend’s plate.

Our Main Saucer

By BrotherSid |

Shared the Saucer Burger and Dipster between us and definitely still my fav. We had a new waitress that was nervous but she took good care of us. A couple asked to sit at our table cause it was pretty crowded and we enjoyed watching them sample a couple of hoppy beers they didnt like.

Excellent Selections - Great Atmosphere

Great for dinner, lunch or snack. Easy environment with great menu selections.

Great place for a variety of drafts and good food

By c12pilot |

Arrived to town late and decided to try Flying Saucer for some late night beers, wings and burgers. Found a nice staff of waitresses, great selection of craft drafts, great wings and burgers. Everything was well prepared and very flavorful. Enjoyed the selection of beers and fun atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting.

Another stop on the Saucer Trip

By miamiblue |

We stopped at this Saucer for lunch during a road trip. We had our dog with us and were happy to see the "dog friendly patio" sign as we approached. Service was good and the food was as expected. Enjoyed Flying the San Antonio Saucer.

Volumes of Beer Choices

By DR_DAN2010 |

Visited the Flying Saucer with friends for a holiday get-together. The server seemed a little slow on the uptake, but was friendly. The crowd was lively as usual and the selection of brew is outstanding. We enjoyed the burgers - I would suggest splitting a burger between two.

Outstanding selection of beer and great atmosphere

By Gregory T |

Work friends and I stopped by the Flying Saucer on a Wednesday, and we had a great time. I was surprised to see the place almost packed at 7:30 pm though! We quickly found an open table and the waitress told us that there is normally a featured brewery on Wednesdays, which was causing the crowd, but she said it is usually busy everyday. The draught and bottled beer selection was great! I chose a local wheat beer and paired it with the Marcellus Wallace sandwich. Delicious!

It's all about the beer

By Dominic23 |

Do you love beer? This is your heaven. Do you remotely like beer? This is your spot to find out if you actually love it. Cool fun atmosphere, fairly good pub food, above average service. Been there many times, would recommend it.

very good beer selection, decent food, friendly atmosphere

By whippoboy |

I have been here three times, in groups and alone. The servers (female) are friendly though not necessarily fast. The written menu of beers has about 30 and the servers are knowledgeable about these. The food is pub-style; I had no full meals. While there have been good crowds it has never felt crowded and there is outdoor seating. There is bar seating, other seating at stools and tables. The serving does not vary much depending on whether you are alone or in a group. The location is pretty good, on Huebner just east of I-10. Surprising traffic did not prevent me from getting into the lot, which is shared by about 15 establishments. If I still lived in the area I would be going there often. Enjoy!

Good Atmosphere

By LMK101 |

The beer is an okay selection. I did not find some great selections for my taste, which is not on the hoppy side. The cheese and meat board had mostly apples. The patio is dog friendly. The place gets crowded and parking my be a bit tough.

Nice scenery and decent food!

By Makusaf |

My friends and I visited for dinner this week. They ordered beers from the large selection! They said the beer was good. I ordered the pick 3 appetizers with bacon wrapped jalapeños, fried pickles, and chicken quesadillas. The quesadillas were good, the bacon wrapped jalapeños were actually quite bland. The pickles were ok. The highlight of the night was the Marsellus Wallace sandwich! One of my coworkers and I both ordered that sandwich and it was delicious!!! If nothing else I’d go back for the ambiance.

If your in or around the Med Ctr, check this place out!

This place is famous for its over 200 beers to choose from... and thats just on tap...I think they have over 300. Its informal and always buzzing with a crowd. I believe there may be other locations as well, but this place is a SA must if you like beer and company. I had corporate housing across the street and went there 3-4 times a week! They also will hoist a 'flying saucer' with your name on it if you try each of the selections!

Disappointing tonight

We have been coming to Flying Saucer for years. The beers are great and the waitstaff is typically awesome. However, we recently had a negative experience that left us never wanting to come back. The server asked us if we would like another beer at about 10:15 pm; she then brought the beers to us and about 5 minutes later told is they were closing in 5 minutes. At 10:25 pm they told us we needed to leave because they had "closed at 10" (before we even were asked about another beer). We couldn't finish our beer and thought this was terrible service. We are big spenders there and now will not be returning.

Love this Place!!

Might be my new favorite place! Awesome selection of beers and tasty food. It was Friday evening so it was packed. Really nice servers too.

Beer!

If you are one that enjoys tasting different types of beers from all over the world this is your place. They also have decent pub fare, really can't go wrong.

German-themed pub offers great drink place, okay British fare

Stopping by for lunch with a friend, I ordered their shepherd's pie. It tasted good but proved entirely too greasy. I was a bit afraid I'd have to run home afterward, so I ate it slowly, but I had no problems. The service was average but the decor was really interesting. I stopped by a few weeks before, though, for drinks in their broad outdoor seating area and I had a great time. I like the spot, overall, and I've only tried one of their dishes, so there might be something much better available. I'll definitely try more next time I go.

Another win

Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and the place is busy. Happy, chill crowd of all ages. I love being around this group. Our waitress was attentive. The manager made sure my husband was happy with his meal. I ordered the Sunday special, honey dipped fried chicken with red mashed potatoes. The veggies were a surprise, not listed on the menu. Very enjoyable! I didn't taste much of a honey flavor, but it didn't bother me. The mashed potatoes and zucchini were the real win for this dish. Love the beer menu. Extensive, both foreign and domestic, prices ranging from $3 for the domestic craft brew pilsner I ordered all the way to $25 for an authentic Belgium import.

First Visit...Average

By Félix C |

It was our first time dinning. Was interested in having New Holland's Dragon's Milk in draft since the other known place to have it closed. The beer was delivered in a 11.5 oz Brandy Snifter glass at room temperature vs, the usual frozen Half Pint tall Glass. This is a stout beer that needs to be very cold. Happy hour appetizers are a high for the size. The pie "pizza" was also expensive for the size. In Urban Brick you can add all you want to your pizza for less and with better taste. Service was average, Came to check on us few times.

Great place to watch a game and have a beer

By Autumn M |

We went on a Monday night when they had $3 pints. We didn't go that route and got sample flights instead. They are decent size and reasonable priced. I'm not a fan of beer so I got the hard cider flight. I got the lava cake dessert worst I've ever had.

Beer heaven

By maxpaste |

We just had some snacks and were here for their beers. They have a great list of local as well as other craft beers. Some of the big bottles were rare and ran as much as $30, but generally everything was priced well. Today local beers were $3 each. I guess this is a small chain brewpub but it didn't feel like that.

Great Beer Selection

The Flying Saucer in San Antonio is great place to enjoy some great beer from all around the world. The food is also very good and is reasonably price and you can always find a beer that will pair well with the food selection. This place can draw a crowd so it can get a bit loud inside but they do offer seating outside as well where pets are welcome. If you find yourself visiting the Saucer often, I would joining the UFO Club so that you can add a plate to the wall or ceiling of the pub. I would highly recommend having lunch or dinner at the Flying Saucer and washing it down with some quality beer.

All about beer

Incredible beer selection, good pub food, friendly wait staff. Over 70 beers on tap, tons of others bottled. Also wines. Fills up the whole shopping center parking lot in the evenings.

Flying Saucer

The service was extremely bad and we found hair in our food. Not in one but two plates. It was cold inside and no fans or cooling devices outside.

Great beer selection, decent food, horrible service.

Waitresses aren't very knowledgeable about beer, and aren't very friendly. Service is slow, and they have a strict limit of 6 pints per visit even if you aren't driving. Food is nice, the pretzels, pork belly, and brats are ok. Very overrated place.

Loud

Love to but the new glasses on Wednesday. Fun atmosphere just loud at times. Some of the girls really know their beer but others could use a little more help. It's nice to be able to sample the beer when you are not sure.

Great beer selection

A whole lot of sports on the the many t.v.s that are throughout the restaurant. There are multiple beers on the menu and if you go on a Sunday, quite a few beers are $3.

Enjoyed their Saturday beer yoga class!

By bigthicket |

I always love this place. During this visit I was able to do an hour of yoga on a Saturday morning at 10am with my daughter's and then enjoy a pint of beer after. I don't think they do this all the time but it sure was fun. I love going to this restaurant for their awesome beer selection. They have great service too! This visit we got the hot pretzels and two toppings to go with it. I hadn't had such yummy hot pretzels since living in Philadelphia. I'll order these every time I go now.

Great beers

Great little place with a really good selection of beers from around the world. The food was ok, although a bit limited for my tastes, but that said was what you would expect to eat in a bar. If you're not into beer this place isn't worth a visit, but if you are then its perfect!

Good Beer, good meals, outside seating- dog friendly

Good Beer, good meals, outside seating- dog friendly! What more can be said. Just off of I-10, a great place to stop and Half Price Books is just next door.

Great for beers, poor for food and service.

By Mohsman |

Went here to watch a football game with my wife and adult sons. It is famous for having an amazing variety of beers on draft - and it did. Dozens of beers of numerous nationalities and types with detailed descriptions on the well-organized menu. Where it fell very short was in the quality of the seating, food, and service. There are basically just wooden benches and the bar at which to sit (except of one or two bar couches) and the service was inattentive. What was VERY surprising was that they offered virtually no wines (my wife doesn't drink beer.) The night we were there, they only had one house red and one white - nothing else! Equally disappointing was the poor quality of the food. We tried the cheese fires, chicken wings, bratwurst sandwich, and a burger. All of us thought the food was average at best. If the place is "the only game in town" for serving a wide variety of beers, and that is your primary focus - then you'll probably like it. However, if you are in a town with a Yard House or similar place - you'd be much better off going there.

Fun Place

By super-grobi |

The Flying Saucer is quite a fun place to go when you want to discover a quite big selection of beer. This place also features daily specials that help to minimise the bill. The only downside I saw is the quite limited amount of German and Czech beer. Sadly nothing too fancy is on the card only the usual suspects that every better hotel is serving, too. I would hope the Flying Saucer is working on that since one should not ignore the birthplace of the beer. :-) For a fun night with your friends, that's the place. Don't miss out the ice cream store next door!

Beer drinkers' utopia

By PCO1025 |

I'm not a beer drinker, but they have just about any kind of beer you could ever want. I had an ale that was pretty good and the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. It was a bit crowded and loud, but I enjoyed the atmosphere and the company.

Entertaining!

By 10ringtraveler |

Very popular and crowded. My wife and I stopped by for a quick drink on the way back to our hotel. This place seemed popular so we stopped here. The list of beers was more extensive than I have seen in any other bar. The bartender was very helpful in helping us make our selections. The prices were great and we were there on trivia night. It seemed like a lot of fun. We had already had dinner so we didn't eat but the dishes we saw being delivered looked delicious! This place is very popular with the locals and friendly towards us tourists. Highly recommended!
