Had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Food was delicious and plentiful. Décor was very nice and open. Professional staff. We got extra attention from Nelson and he was the life of the dinner service. Love whisley and Santiago too. I will definatly be back.

Delicious Brazilian food

This restaurant is huge, but reservations are a must. Service is outstanding. The meats are awesome although if you want meat from beef ribs or lamb chops you need to ask. They brought what we asked for but mostly chicken and meats are more readily available. They did have bottled water on the table but gladly served ice water in pitchers. The meat experience is $66.50 pp. Worth it if hungry. I chose to just have the salad bar ($35). The salad bar is definitely not worth the price. There were all kinds of salad fixings, some cold cuts, fruit and chicken salad. Definitely not worth the price of $35. For this reason, I give 4 stars.

Phenomenal meal for a family of six! The kids are already asking to go back tomorrow night and we just arrived in Chicago…Valmor and Gabe took great care of us. Vast salad bar followed by endless cuts of meat, great liquor/wine selection and don’t forget the desserts. This was our first time at Fogo de Chao and needless to say we will definitely be back.

Lunch celebration

My wife and I were in town for a conference and decided to treat ourselves to a lunch at Fogo De Chao. I had retired the previous day, so this also served as a celebration lunch for us. As usual, the service and food were both top notch. In addition, our service from Valmor was excellent. He took very good care of us. Upon finding out about our retirement celebration, he provided us with a complimentary dessert with "celebration" written on the plate of a slice of cheesecake that was out of this world. This unexpected gesture made the experience even better and was much appreciated. We will be back for the outstanding food and service.

Not worth it

I have been to the Rosemont location and it is waaaayyy better. In terms of servers all were decent enough not excellent. Because it's Christmas they have a Santa that just goes around talking to you, not everybody celebrates Christmas and we would have preferred he not intact with us or been present at all lol not a big deal for us but just so you know. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON they apparently charge $64 per person instead of the listed $47 to try and make a quick buck during this holiday time. I called yesterday to make the reservation they did not make me aware either and as i said it is not in the website. We walked in today they didn't let us know through the door either. Another couple left asking they honor the listed price and the same young manager who didn't want to honor it for me did the same to her before either of us could speak to a head manager as he was just "on the management team".He said to me because of the holiday he wanted me happy and would give me 20% off. Truly unprofessional. So nobody else is caught off guard please be aware. Food in comparison to Rosemont was sub par. Jared our personal waiter was great.

Quick Business Lunch

Had a business meeting and wanted to go to lunch with the team. We decided on Fogo De Chao because of its variety and speed of service. We arrived around 11:30 and we were seated right away without a reservation. A couple of us started at the salad bar. OH WOW. The amount of item and flavor on that salad bar, Amazing. Make it a point to go to the salad bar a couple times. All the items fresh and tasty. When you decide to go green the meat buffet begins. So many different cuts and flavors. Everything seasoned very well and temperature was perfect. I had to have the filet a couple times because of how juicy and flavorful it was. Another favorite is the beef ribs. The manager stopped over to visit us. He introduced himself as Carlitos Elvir and asked us if we needed anything. He suggested some different sauces for the meats. The chimechuri (spelling) was excellent. He also brought over a “hot” sauce that went well with the meat. The unlimited sides of bread, polenta, garlic mashed were all so good too. We ended the meal with some cheesecake that was very smooth and delicious. Enjoy Fogo for a great lunch with excellent service and delicious food.

Always a winning choice

We are big fans of the Brazilian steakhouse experience, and this visit was no exception. We told them it was my husband’s birthday, and I was impressed with how many people acknowledged it. They wanted to give us a free dessert, but we were heading straight to a concert and didn’t have anywhere to put it. They tried really hard, though! Thanks for a great birthday meal, Fogo!

A Wonderful Experience....

To start, I have never been to Fogo De Chao or any other Brazilian steakhouse, so this was a first and on my bucket-list. So, when I was in Chicago for a conference, I knew I had to check it out. Wow! I love the concept of just sitting at your table and every type of meat is brought table-side for you to decide if you want some or not. You use a little laminated circle with a green or red sign to say stop (for a moment) or bring it on! Their salad, fruit, cheese and everything bar (which is included in the main meat option) is quite outstanding, fresh and very delicious as well. For as many meats as you can want, they pretty much have and they just keep bringing it by and slicing it for you. I also added on the chilled shrimp cocktail and lobster which was a nice addition and quite good as well. The service is outstanding and top-notch. I got their Brazilian lemonade and that was also very tasty. Their dessert menu is quite good, side note: my first choice, their chocolate lava cake was sold-out and the one staff person made a comment that it sells out quite frequently - note to management, if something sells out frequently, make or buy more of it; Anyway, I did have the keylime pie and it was outstanding! So, a wonderful experience and I will definitely be paying another visit when I am back in Chicago or any other location that has a Fogo....Check it out, you will be glad you did!!

Visited here by recommendation of a work colleague. The carved meats at the table were sensational and the salad bar had everything you could want (and more). We rolled out of the restaurant because we were so full! Brilliant watering staff and great atmosphere.

Packed like sardines so the restaurant can make it up for revenue lost during Covid

Been to Fogo de Chao many times in fact this same restaurant in 2019 and the restaurant had tables decently placed away for each other. But Saturday August 28 with Covid cases spiking the restaurant had absolutely no space between tables. They crammed all the tables together with barely any space between tables to move around even for the servers. And the irony is they asked to put mask on at the salad bar. Why bother when you are sitting right next to everyone eating without a mask. Three of four sides did not even make it to our table once until we asked for it. Meat servers hard to find. At $58 per person without drinks - this is definitely not worth it. I would rather take my business elsewhere.

Messing up your clients Thanksgiving by allowing reservations with no restrictions

This was the worst Thanksgiving experience. They apparently allowed reservations to be made without restriction. The result was pure chaos, with an entrance hall packed with rightly annoyed costumers. A situation, per se, absurd considering Covid and the risks involved here. The poor hostesses were trying to deal with the situation but there wasn't much to do, they were asking people to wait fo one to two hours, even though you had reservations. There was no apology or explanation, they only expected us to wait outside, in the cold, with kids. Of course we gave up and accepted our Thanksgiving fiasco, but the text alerting me my table was ready never came, eventhough that's was the they told me to wait. If we stayed I would have to go through more argumentation to get my table, for sure. It was such an utterly disrespectful situation and it felt more like a greedy, impractical and opportunistic decision rather than a honest mistake. But I guess this we'll never know.

Fantastic food, great service. Besides the amazing meat selections, we enjoyed trying the different fruits and cheeses. The staff was very attentive and kind. They even brought us complimentary strawberry cheesecake because they knew it was our anniversary!

Meat All you can eat

If you choose the „All-in“ version from the menu (which I would recommend), you can help yourself on the starter and salad buffet (great choices) and then waiters with skewers will come continuously to your table and offer different kind of meat like chicken, lamb, various steak cuts in well-done to rare (all on the same skewer). Great quality and taste - if do not want to overeat, don’t forget to turn the badge on the table from green to red.

Thanksgiving

Horrible for Thanksgiving. Dry turkey, no usual side dishes, and couldn’t believe NO dessert table. Just synthetic bland desserts you might fine at best at an airport or in a vending machine. Yuck. 5 people $800. Saw this restaurant on a morning news show and since we had to find a restaurant to go out this year because of construction we gave this a shot but would never think of going here again. Went there tonight 11/20 and the food and staff were amazing. However, the bathroom was filthy, when I say filthy I mean toilet paper all over and the garbage cans overflowing with waste. My bill was well over $600 and when you go to a place where you are spending that kind of money you expect the bathroom to be clean. At one point I went to the front desk and told them the the bathroom was dirty and they said they would get it taken care of however, two hours later I went back to the bathroom and it was actually worse, nobody attended to the woman's bathroom at all. Its unfortunate because the wait staff was attentive and the food was great.

EVERYTHING...and I mean literally everything is an upsale in this place. The salad bar was average in comparison to the last time I was here. No beautiful garnishes, no parmesan wheel. Nothing special for Thanksgiving. No beautifully roasted turkey being carved. Just a breast on a board in the dark on a side makeshift buffet. No pumpkin pie or even a holiday pumpkin tart? Nothing. No good cuts of beef. The only ones that came around were top round and bottom round. Didn't get any sausage. We were stuck in a back corner by the servers station so our table was really noisy and busy. And the service was ANNOYING. Every time I took a bite of food there was someone there asking me if it was ok. And it was ok. But that's the problem. It was just "ok". This used to be one of our favorite places and now I'm sad. I would have given the service 5 stars but took one away because it was too much.

Far away of being a Brazilian barbecue 🫤

Even being one of the best places to eat a good meat in Chicago it is no longer following the real Brazilian taste and type of food (or environmental with strange non Brazilian musics!) The “feijoada” is too far away of its real flavor, the salad buffet miss several basic traditional Brazilian dishes like the “vinagrete” sauce and the most important the sides server at table tasted terrible and cannot be called as a Brazilian food. Where were the traditional “pastel” and fries?! There is no mashed potatoes in a traditional Brazilian barbecue, and when someone does it uses real potatoes the cream that has been served.

High price for poor service and experience - avoid

I looked for a nice dinner place to eat with a colleague, and based on my past experiences (previous covid) and my colleague food expectations, I closed to go to Fogo in Chicago. The réception -Léo-e where nice, i made a reservation and went on time for the dinner. The surprise was starting from the moment when we step in on the restaurant: tables very close one to each other, to put as much as possible people on that space. The service was medium, and we feel entire time the pressure to move fast and free table for next one. The table was next to the open salad bar, and everybody coming to get salads was touching us. When the waiters cleaned the table next to ours, they succeed to broke a full glass with cola and the cola was all over . The entire restaurant looks like a local cantina , with poor service, and focus just on having more people. Based on this experience, I will remove it from my Chicago restaurant list, and recommend to avoid if you can.

Watch out for the drink scam

The food and service were pretty good, but when you go for the lunch buffet thing (which is about $45/person), they'll bring all kinds of cuts of meat and other things to you throughout your dining experience. As they're bringing out all this food that is included in the price of your admission to the buffet, a server will walk around with this tray of tiny margarita shots that are presented like they're part of the buffet package, but they're not! Beware! 3 of these drinks for me and my friends ran up the bill an extra $50. We could have brought a fourth person with us for that money. It wasn't even a full drink either, it was in this small glass that seems complimentary as it's being offered to you. I find that practice to be so underhanded and I wouldn't come back here because that left such a bad taste in my mouth. They should have disclosed that the drinks would be an extra charge, and I'm reading several other reviews of this place from other people who feel the same way. Pass.

Fogo de chao Chicago has the best charcoal cooked meats in the area. Carlos the server was amazing with pairing specific cuts to their selection of wine and caipirinhas! Carlitos Elvis was great on giving us a brief history of the tradition of churrascaria in Brazil.

New Year's Eve dinner frustrated.

I made a reservation well in advance, but upon arrival, the restaurant was packed, the reception was chaotic with only one person assisting, and there was no estimated table availability despite having a reservation. We were advised to wait outside due to the crowded conditions inside. Considering it was -3 degrees Celsius and with children, we opted to find another place to eat. Surprisingly, I received a message more than 50 minutes later notifying me of an available table. Extremely disappointing.

Nice atmosphere! Food was great. Had to ask for certain cuts that I wanted because they didn’t come out quickly but when I did they were quick to bring them! Overall great experience! Gabe was a great server and very patient with my two little ones that were there way past their bedtime ;-)

I have been to this place several times in the past. Open till tonight I always enjoyed this place. This evening I took a client/friend to dinner and it was embarrassing at best. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen, everything was tough and waiters were scarce. The quality of the food has gone very downhill and frankly, we couldn’t wait to get the check and leave. Nothing was good tonight. Food was so bad and over salted I doubt I will return.

Worthwhile lunch experience

I've been here several times and generally enjoy the experience. I prefer to come during their lunch hour, because it feels very crowded, busy, and rushed in the evenings. Carlitos Elvir was very friendly and asked for a review. The servers are always very friendly and attentive, especially during the lunch hours. However one thing I didn't appreciate was not being told that some items offered aren't included in the "full" churrasco experience. All of it is served similarly (by servers making rounds) so I would have appreciated it if there was an extra charge for some things. However, the server Giovanni helped me out the most. The servers could sometimes get busy or miss my table, but Giovanni took the effort to ask me what I wanted and made requests to the kitchen on my behalf.

This was our first time at a Fogo De Chao restaurant and it was fabulous. Such an amazing and delicious amount of meat and the salad bar was stupendous. The service was impeccable and the manager Carlos Cuevas was the ultimate professional of hospitality. We will be back soon.

Going Downhill Fast

This place has definitely gone downhill over the past few years. We have gotten the Celebration Package (plus the Lamb Chops and extra Pao de Queijo) several times over the past few years. (Our sons, somewhat ridiculously, are always too lazy to actually go in, so we get the take out.) In any event, about a year and a half ago we had our first bad experience when we had to wait over 40 minutes for our order. Admittedly, it was Father’s Day, so there were extenuating circumstances. But we got our order in 5 hours ahead of time, so they had ample advance notice. And it’s aggravating to watch the meats go in and out, and still be waiting on your order for that long. Still have no idea what the holdup was or what their process is - the food was right there. In any event, our latest order was even worse. We had to wait several minutes even though they were obviously very slow that night. But when we got home we found out we were totally short changed. Your supposed to get four double Lamb Chops, we got one double and three singles. So five-eighths of what we paid for. Then we got a single individual serving of Caesar salad for four people (no big bowl like usual), and no extra Pao de Queijo. Essentially, short about $50.00 worth of food (and more than $50.00 worth of whining from our sons). Time to go elsewhere.

Multiple managers and team members touched our table. As a restaurant industry worker, I'm critical but I have nothing bad to say about this establishment. Bad experience during thanksgiving ! They restaurant accepted more reservations they could honor therefore when we arrived for our dinner several people in the same situation, with reservations and no table. More than 1h over the reservation … unfortunately with 2 kids we had to look for another alternative. Hope they can get more organize next time

Wonderful family celebration

This is a meat lovers feast. If you are thinking of this restaurant for the salad bar think again. The salad bar is a nice balance for the meat. The meat choices are wonderful. If you don’t like what one server has to offer just wait for the next. My family enjoyed the lamb most of all, but every cut of meat they had was really nice. The method of cooking and seasoning was just what we anticipated. The service was excellent from the time we were seated until we left. I would recommend a reservation as this is a busy place but even then you might have to wait due to the nature of the restaurant. It would be worth the wait.

Honeymoon

We arrived earlier than our reservation, because we had a cruise after dinner and they got us in early. We were in Chicago for our honeymoon. Everything was so delicious, the meats were cooked to perfection, we went through two baskets of the bananas, the last tray they brought was all Bananas. They brought us the special tres leches that had congratulations written on thr plate in raspberry sauce . It was one of the best I've ever had. It was the culinary high light of our trip. love this place and when we're back in Chicago I plan to stop in for dinner.

The best steakhouse in chicago and the US

The best steak house on earth. We travelled all the way from lebanon and tried several steak houses in the US but this place stood out immediately. Carlitos Elvir , Jared and Edemir greeted us and made us feel right at home, and it was uphill all the way from there. Quick and great service, excellent food, excellent ambiance. The best way to get a fine dining and fun experience.

I had been in many Fogo the Chao in Brasil as well in the world. And also this one in Chicago as the others is really Outstanding, because the perfect service, and the fantastic foods & drinks. I advice the only difference is this one is more expensive of the others in Brasil, maybe because you pay in $ or because you drink more before take seat at you table. Anyway is Outstanding and is an experience even if you're in Chicago and not in Brasil. Let's go there and Enjoy !!

Great service

We visited the Naperville location. Jessica, Jackie, Jovante and Ivo where amazing. It is not very common now to have a staff that is very professional yet have the means to make you feel comfortable and appreciated. They did this and ensured our experience was memorable. Thank you Jessica, Jackie, Jovante and Ivo for your hospitality. We will make sure to return and have an awesome time!

The service at this establishment was extremely disappointing. Our drinks arrived only after we had finished our meals, leaving us parched throughout the meal. The meat dishes were hastily served, lacking the attention and care one would expect. The noise level in the place was unbearable, reminiscent of a chaotic fast-food joint. To make matters worse, the waitstaff exhibited an unfriendly demeanor, adding to the overall negative experience. Regrettably, we won’t be returning to this restaurant. It’s a shame, as a better experience could have made us regular patrons.

Have been to Fogo many, many times in various locations.This is the first location that I have been to that I would never return to. Most of the selections of meat were over cooked. Took so incredibly long to get a drink. Server took our order. Had to ask, after 20 minutes for the status of our drinks. We surprised to find that the server never put our drink order in.

If you like Mediterranean food coupled with lots of great beef, lamb, pork and chicken (kind of an oxymoron Mediterranean and beef) then this is your place. The salad bar is incredible lots of marinated and fresh grilled vegetables, cheese, cured meats, smoked salmon, salads and fruit. Not inexpensive but not expensive for the quality you receive. Dining conditions are comfortable and the dress ranges from casual to dress up.

Back to Fogo after COVID; some changes

We have been here several times in the past, and things have changed a bit in the last few years. They now offer upscale meats and seafood (which we didn't try,) but the main attraction is still the churrasco experience. The salad bar was open and good but missing the prosciutto they used to have! The various meats are still good, especially the filet mignon. I think they only have one type of lamb now, which was disappointing. The papaya cream is still a great dessert! They now use a wireless gizmo to take the credit card payment, which was nifty, and then had a QR code for the menu. They were VERY busy, but the service was still pretty good.

I always enjoy visiting Fogo for the salad bar, and soup. I brought a colleague for lunch who loved it just as much as I did! We also enjoyed a happy hour cocktail that was make perfectly and we never felt pressured to order more drinks unlike the experience of other reviews here. Was a great lunch experience!

They should’ve been treated better

My son and his girlfriend had reservations on 2-14-24 at 6:30 they look very young and are only 18 years old,However the server kept asking if they can afford to eat there then asked where their parents were and once they ordered dessert the server asked if they were sure again it will cost extra .. Both my son and his girlfriend work and could afford to go there that’s so disappointing they would get treated like this and afraid to go back. That’s a shame and no matter the age should be treated better.

Right from the beginning, Valmor welcomed us so warmly and recommended the dry aged beef. Even though we didn’t end up getting that, the rest of the selection of meats that came around were so tasty and well cooked. Our favourite meats were the picanha, garlic beef, lamb, and chicken thigh. The Brazilian cheesebread was so good I could cry, the mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery, and the GRILLED BANANAS wow. They were so good we had to order another portion! The price is so reasonable for lunch - lunch for 2 here is what a piece of steak would cost us at a steakhouse! Definitely coming back the next time we’re in Chicago!

This was my first visit. I enjoyed the experience very much. In my opinion, it was way overpriced. My daughter had two glasses of wine and I had one. Our bill was 200.00. The salad bar was nice, but there were few vegetables available for the basic salad. The mashed potatoes and fried cheese with honey were my favorite sides. The pork Parmesan, sirloin and bacon wrapped meat were also my favorite.

At the salad bar someone (gloved) handed the plate to a server who then got the items you chose from the salad bar. However the salad bar was a pale imitation to its former version. The the filets were disappointing, fatty and lacking flavor, we had to request many times for lamb chops, and chicken breasts. due to covid they no longer have the cards you flip up when you are wanting meat. Seemed to not have enough servers to take care of the guests......for the price they charge per diner, we were underwhelmed...

Not everything they bring around is included. Make sure you ask. They were carrying around trays of beautiful shrimp cocktail and we said we would like one. When we got the bill we were charged $27 for the shrimp. They did not tell us there would an extra charge. The place is very loud so if you want conversation it can be difficult. The food was good. The service was good. We even tried dessert of tres leches. It was delicious. Full bar.

I went to the Restaurant, at 15th and Wynkoop yesterday with my Fiancée for lunch and was served by the Manager Andrio Villa who was able to speak Portuguese and English and was very helpful with Everything. The actual mean itself is Outstanding, Highly Recommend this Restaurant for anyone visiting Downtown Denver, I have been to Brazil 12 times in the last 6 years, and this is by far the best Brazilian Restaurant I have ever experienced, and the same opinion is shared by my Fiancée and now she lives here in Denver. The Salad Bar is 2nd to none, and all of the cooked food is Excellent. Highly Recommend.

It's probably been 10+ years since I went to Fogo de Chao in Chicago, so I remember a lavish salad bar and prime cuts of meat. I must say I was rather disappointed this time around. The salad bar is but a mere shadow of what it used to be in my opinion, although meat is the main reason for coming to this restaurant in the first place. I didn't think there were that many different types of meat choices that evening and many cuts are quite salty but overall, the cuts are quite tasty and staff is quite helpful and friendly. So still a good place if you're looking for a Brazilian steakhouse but it used to be better.

I honestly don't know why I do this to myself. I know the experience is going to be horrible but I insist on going here. I am writting this review to remind MYSELF to never ever come back. I need to stop this madness! To make things easy and short: you all know how a Brazilian churrascaria operates. This is no different. But it is amazing how they dare to cheat you in every single aspect. Seriously, their job is to nickle and dime you to exhaustion. The prices are out of this planet, not only the rodízio but also the drinks and desserts. The service is absurdely slow. This is an unacceptable tactic that churrascarias use to stuff you the buffet while you wait, and wait, and wait. And they withould premium meat , particularly the alcatra and the costela, which you always have to ask for, otherwise they won't bring it to your table. To add injury to that, they make the place very hot. I felt bad for the gaúchos (servers) who had to endure that througout their shift. This is another despicable practice of restaurants in general, but churrascarias in specific, to make you feel very uncomfortable and get out quick in order to turnover the table. Unacceptable! The meat is not cooked to perfection. It is usually either poorly cooked (crua) or burned (esturricada). And it is not clean either. You get a lot of fat, particularly if you are getting the bottom sirloin (fraldinha). The amount of fat that I discarded that day was outrageous. Drinks are subpar and expensive. They do not use quality ingredients - that includes the pinga/cachaça that goes in the caipirinha. This place get really busy and noisy and there are lines in the buffet. In all, the experience is always horrible. Avoid this place like the plague!

We celebrated two birthdays and was a party of 12. We were not disappointed. Our waiter Carlos Ramirez and his co-workers were knowledgeable, kind, and I feel they treated us very well. The food was delicious, the salad bar had great options and the mimosas were addictive. Not to mention the dessert - just yummy. The only complaint I have is when we ordered coffee it took a long time to get it, and waiting for refills also took a long time. I highly recommend you won't be disappointed. Ask for Carlos he's great.

Made reservations for Mother’s Day with hubby and kids, have always wanted to visit. Drove about 1.5 hours from the suburbs. I know it’s a busy day (Mother’s Day) but it was awful. Service was terrible, place was so busy they were overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up. Why would they not have limited the number of people?? There were so many people packed in that we could barely walk to the buffet or hear each other talk. Didn’t get drinks for about 45 mins after sitting down. My daughter who is a vegetarian only wanted fries, they never came and when the bill came for $350 I would have expected a whole lot more. Drinks were charged for every drink and once we finally received drinks they kept bringing them without even asking so we had a drinks bill that was a small fortune. Definitely wouldn’t return. I tried calling a few days later to see if they could make it right, they never responded

I went to the restaurant yesterday on the 24th of December with my girlfriend. Luckily we reserved a table and were able to get our table when we arrived. The food and service was good but it felt a little chaotic, but anyway it was not bad! BUT: Watch out when a server asks you for SanGria's, Shots and small Margaritas. Because they come around like the server with the steaks, it seems like all these drinks are for free. They even don't tell you that you have to pay for it, so you think it's all included in the all you can eat. That is definitely planned and I cannot accept a scam like this. We ordered a Caipirinha from the card for $9 but a small glass of margarita costs $16.50 and you don't know that. In the pictures you can see the bill ($372) we got after we finished and the bill ($184) we finally paid after refusing to pay the first bill of. Would've been 5 stars for the food but I don't want other people to be tricked. Be aware, don't get fooled and enjoy the meals.

Wife and I decided to have our first date night after our baby in this restaurant. My wife love lamb and I can eat a little bit. That's the only meat we were there to eat. Our waiter was terrible. Their menu choices are not clear. We were forced to order Fogo De Chao "experience" in order to get just lamb. When I told the waiter I won't be eating lamb and won't be ordering the "experience" instead I ordered over priced fish entree he wasn't too happy. When I tasted the lamb just to taste he ran to our table and extremely rudely and loudly told me he will be charging for two!! Manger was wonderful. He made things better after we complained for his behavior. I understand they have a system but waiter even from beginning treated us like we don't belong there. Wonder its because we had a baby with us or because he thought we don't "belong" there. Hope they have better choices for people in menu in future.

They spilled grease in large areas, only silk dress. When brought to the manager's attention, he gave me a wipe cloth to clean it. This made it worse. The manager did not apologize. He said if you want, take it to the cleaners and bring us the receipt. Well, the stain did not come off. We contacted the email they offered on Google. Six months later, they have me jump through hoops, and still no resolution. They are irresponsible and lack care for customers.

This reservation and experience were an absolute joke. First of all the crowd at the door that then spilled into the restaurant was both concerning and sickening especially in the times of COVID. We were told that there was no way to know how long our wait for our table for a reservation we made at 7:45 would take and to just hang around the hostess stand. There were literally 75-100 people at the hostess stand. The tables were so close together that one could barely walk even if we did get sat. The bar was closed for more seating, therefore making it even more crowded. What last night looked like was a cash grab, they didn't care about public safety or capacity. No one was serving guests from the buffet. Guests in the waiting area were mixed with mask usage. The servers were clearly overworked and upset they were seen squeezing through tables with skewers of meat getting breathed on by the overcapacity folks in the room. We couldn't in good faith feel comfortable eating in a setting where people would be standing around our table waiting to get sat. It felt like we were cattle being crammed into a pen without much room to move or relax. This was the opposite of a fine dining establishment, it felt like a Brazilian old country buffet on half-priced brisket night. Ultimately, we couldn't see spending a romantic evening out in an environment where an establishment would be so careless with our time, our resources, and our health. I am so disappointed with Fogo de Chao - Chicago, they ruined our plans for the evening and we ended up leaving and not dining. We are sympathetic to the chaos holidays bring to a restaurant, as we have both worked in the industry. An established location like Fogo de Chao should have a better handle on their reservations and capacity. There's no excuse for what we and countless others experienced last night. Period. Do better Fogo de Chao-Chicago. Seriously. Fogo de Chao really blew it last night, we don't write reviews very often. Your blatant disregard and neglect of the patron are noted. One would be hard-pressed to find another venue more ill-equipped for a crowd than Fogo de Chao last night. Truly.

I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment, and let me tell you, the quality of the meat is absolutely top-notch, no doubt about it. However, when it comes to the service and the overall atmosphere, it falls short of the same high standard. I have nothing but praise for the servers who expertly carve and serve the meats, but the individuals responsible for the dining room tend to push extra food and drinks on you, conveniently leaving out the cost, all while adopting a rather rushed and sometimes unpleasant manner. This gives the place a carnival-like vibe rather than the upscale, city-center experience you'd expect, say, in a magnificent city like Chicago. What makes the experience even more intriguing is that when you settle your bill, you'll find that those extras you naively accepted, thinking that perhaps you could indulge a bit for the evening, will actually cost you an outrageous sum. We all understand that businesses need to thrive, but there are better ways to do it.

My gf and I were celebrating her birthday. From the very beginning the hostess mentioned a birthday cheesecake to where our journey of smiles began. We were greeted by our server Omar and he explained and broke down the menu to us knowing it was our first time. He was very nice and attentive and always made sure if we were ok. Super polite. He had a great management team backing him up and checking on us too. Honestly felt like we were super important. The service was magnificent. I would go again and ask for Omar. Great Brazilian steakhouse. Fixed price gives you unlimited access to a great salad bar and all the beef, chicken, pork and lamb you could want. Worst Fogo Dining Experience I've Had

I've been to Fogo at least forty times, and I've been to the Chicago restaurant about six or seven times. The last time was six years ago. This was my worst visit ever. I was with a visitor from Italy, and I wanted to treat him to the Fogo experience. I was a little disheartened by the salad bar, which has seemingly gone downhill. The selections were fewer, and here, while it's still supper, the tomatoes weren't ripe. But OK, we're here for the meat. The first one was the alcatra. But it was tough and almost inedible. The next five meats were past well done and we passed on them. I was told they'd bring some medium rare, but for some, such as the lamb chops, they never brought any. Most of the meat was overcooked, and after waiting at one point for fourteen minutes for someone to come by, we got some decent picanha. But after that, it was bacon-wrapped chicken five times, a pork chop, a chicken breast, and sausage. I asked for fraldinha, ancho, more picanha, cordeiro, filet, and costela, but only the costela and another picanha came. We had a hard time finding our waitress to get our drinks refilled. This may be the first time I've left Fogo without being full. Except for the picanha, it was mostly inedible. My last trip to Fogo was two months ago in Denver, and that one was amazing. This trip was a huge disappointment.

Bad Covid protocols, mediocre food and a high price set the tone for a good night. Their tables are close together. Their salad bar has shared utensils and no social distancing at all. The main item - the meat - was served randomly and haphazardly with us twice having to ask our server to find the food for us. They brought drinks to the table BUT didn’t say they were an additional charge. Overall the food was not impressive the ambiance poor, the service random and it was one of the first restaurants I have actually felt uncomfortable about their Covid protections. I noted many of the staff not wearing their masks properly. This chain and do much better than this branch was doing.

I have always enjoyed the spread in various cities across the US - but this one was disappointing. Not all the "promised" meats made it to the table. The following were missing: filet mignon, bone-in-beef ancho, seasonal cut, and picanha. Further, one of the waiters brought around margaritas on a tray and offered it to me as if it was complementary Later, I discovered a charge of $16+tax for a margarita that was less than 30 oz. All in all, a disappointing experience for my teenage son's first visit to a Fogo de Chao.

I am a big fan of Fogo de Chão chain and have been to their stores all around the world, such as in Rio, São Paulo, Boston, Washington, New York, Philadelphia, Orlando and Atlanta. However, I felt extremely disrespected at this location, because of the type of meat served as well as for forcing me to pay almost 90 dollars for some bottled water, 1 coke and 2 salads (even though I had not even gotten any salad and my mother barely touched what she had gotten).

The value for the food was good. Lots of meat options..... continually. Wine prices were good. The only caution for everyone. Don't take anything from anyone walking around with Miniature cockails. They will act like it's comp, but it will be more expense than an full drink (my Cosmo = $14; their mini drinks unknown to us that they were not free...$16 - 3 oz supposedly patron margaritas. 4 minis later.. $66 - lesson learned and first and last time at Fogo)

Delicious Food

We enjoyed eating in the bar area at this restaurant. The main dining area was busy but we chose to eat snacks and enjoy a drink instead. We ordered four items between us and the serves were very generous. We loved the lamb cutlets and the spinach and artichoke dip with bread. My husband also loved the baked cheese with a honey drizzle sauce and the polenta chips were great too. We highly recommend this place for a bite to eat or for a more substantial meal.

Abysmal experience for the price of a mortgage payment

It started out fine for our group of six celebrating my son's birthday; waters and cocktails arrived and we enjoyed the salad bar. Our luck changed as we finished our salads. Turn the card to the green side to let the servers know to stop by? Good luck. Holding our cards up as though at an auction finally encouraged a server or two to venture our way. Nowhere near the promise that "you will still experience the same great service" made in their write up. Meanwhile, my husband ordered a bottle of wine. After 15 minutes, our server returned to say they didn't have that bottle. Two more tries and 30 minutes later, we still couldn't find a bottle they had on their menu AND in stock. Though nearly done with our meal, we were still trying to make the best of it, and ordered by the glass. At this point, our server asked if there was anything we wanted to try but hadn't been offered. Lamb, we all agreed. After the same question was asked and answered twice more, I finally said if we could not have lamb, please just bring coffees. The lamb and coffee arrived at the same time. While the food was good, this was a terrible dining experience and therefore a major rip off.

Disorganized

We went to a business dinner during the AHR Expo but the place was very disorganized. It's definitely not the same as Fogo de Chao was. I don't think I will return to you. For the price they charge they should maintain the quality of service. La Picaña is very good, yes.

Delicious lunch before an overseas flight out of O’Hare.

We were in search of a quick, substantial, and healthy lunch before driving to an off-sight parking garage for an overseas flight out of O’Hare. This was the perfect spot. We just ordered the salad bar, which had enough choices to suite everyone in the family. The quality of the food was fantastic. We were stuffed when we left. We were in and out within an hour, maybe less. The host, Carlos, was so friendly and welcoming. :)

Went to this location at 6:45 on a Thursday evening. Room was fairly full. We were seated right away. Waiter took drink order then returned to explain how things were going to work for the night. Salad Bar had a very good selection of appetizers. The meat selections started coming to the table. All were excellent. You can stop and rest a bit and if you were ready for more they would return. They had Beef, Pork, Lamb, Chicken and Sausages. Thought it was fairly priced for quality and quanity. Would recommend.

Excellent Fogo dinner in Chicago

This is the third time we visit this restaurant in Chicago. We were a large group of twelve people with a reservation and our table was ready upon our arrival. Food was consistently excellent: many times I believe I could be completely satisfied with the salad bar alone, but never had the courage of skipping the meats. Everything was authentic, except for the pão de queijo, which was surprisingly not the best. We were well taken care of by the staff (thanks, Alexa). We will be back.

Over 30 minute wait for someone to come around with the variety of meats. Didn't get to try everything after 2 hours.

Too many reservations for not enough tables! Tell people! Down make them wait so long. We had reservations at 7:30. Did not sit until 8:30. The place was crazy full and was not fun or enjoyable. I will not be back to this location.

I normally go to this restaurant with my wife and friends but this time I took my all family for Sunday brunch, we were a group of 12, we were celebrating my mom's birthday. the service from our server was outstanding he got everything we needed, the meats were constantly around and we got lots of garlic beef and filet as we requested. a young man which a believe was the manager stopped a few times by our table to check if everything was satisfactory, he also got my mother a birthday chocolate cake. we definitely had a wonderful experience and my all family love it. Can't wait for our next visit.

Visited numerous Fogo locations over the years in several states. As always, the food was delicious. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience. Our table of three felt neglected compared to the larger tables that most have been offering a greater prospective tip. A waitress took our order initially, but no one else went out of their way to check up on us. Only one of our three did the full-experience, but we as a group, didn't feel that they were offered near the quantity that they should have been. No one offered us clean plates, any side dishes, or asked if there was any special meat requests. At one point towards the end of our "experience," the lack of service was mentioned by one of our party, but no one offered any explanation, or even an apology. We will return to Fogo in the future, but not the Chicago location.

The Meats

I came here for a friend’s birthday and enjoyed the experience. Meats on meats on meats are all you’ll really be eating. I know there’s a salad bar, but if you want your money’s worth, don’t bother. Also, be on the lookout for the shrimp. They cost extra and if you’re not careful you’ll end up getting them. As far as the meats go, try everything. I was not expecting to enjoy some of the things as much as I did. For me, the garlic tenderloin was the best cut of meat there.

Be very careful there they sneak shrimp cocktail and tiny margaritas in while giving you the rest of the food they bring you and then charge you for it on your bill!! They don’t tell you there is a charge when they bring it to your table! I wonder how many people don’t notice!!! They tried to bill us an extra hundred dollars for that we fought it!!!!!

Our server Ema and other female were very attentive. Whether it was needing additional sides, another cocktail or to clear our plates to get another clean one, we were well taken care of. The atmosphere was pleasant and am grateful we had great personalized attention. Ema even checked in around our purpose for the visit, which was in fact for a wedding anniversary. We had a time crunch and couldn’t take advantage of the complimentary dessert offered. Thank you again Ema!

Great food. Not so great business practices

Great food. Mediocre service. Beware the extra charges. The food was amazing. If I was basing my review on food alone then it would be 5 stars but sadly part of a dining experience is good service and feeling valued as a customer. In regards to the food, honestly some of the best lamb I’ve ever had and the parmesan pork was fantastic. The people serving the meats to our table were great. They also get 5 stars from me and my partner! The servers who were checking in to see if we needed anything, not so much. We felt very rushed in the end. We were there around 70 minutes and had turned our cards to red so we could give ourselves a break for a few minutes. One server came to our table 3 times in 10 minutes to see if we were done with everything and ready to go. The last thing I want to highlight is be careful with some of the extras brought to the table that is not meat or the sides. We paid $16.50 each for a tiny margarita cocktail ($33.00 total). They used top shelf tequila which justifies the price but they bring these margaritas to the table as soon as you sit down, it feels like a part of the experience but turns out the price is not included and as soon as you take it, it’s added to the bill. I honestly would have taken the cocktail anyway but, I find the business ethics here by not letting the customer know it’s an additional charge is quite dishonest. They also go table to table with shrimp and again it feels like it’s part of the experience thus the customer is led to believe it is included in the price, it’s not. One of these will set you back an additional $26.00. I don’t understand why they do this as the shrimp is listed on a separate menu of appetisers which can be ordered for an additional price. Going table to table like they do with the meats makes the customer feel like this is also included in the price. Just be wary. If you don’t want to spend over the $66.50 then don’t accept anything other than the meats or the sides (cheese bread, crispy polenta, mashed potatoes, caramelised bananas). The salad bar is all you can eat and also included in the price. Overall I probably wouldn’t return due to these negative business practices. Maybe others will have a different experience and I do want to highlight that the food was great but if you’re going there and have an idea of what you want to/are able to spend then please just be wary that this is a practice within this establishment.
