We had a wonderful family meal at Fogo de Chao tonight! We had a large party and had a great table by the wine display. We had a serious food allergy and they were so wonderful and accommodating. Our waitress in particular was very careful. In addition, Milton was a fantastic customer service representative and checked in with us multiple times to make sure we got more of our preferred cuts of meat. We will definitely be returning! Also huge bonus that kids 6 and under dine free and 7-12 are half price!

Very good meat, quick service, you are not waiting for the cuts, it is very fluid; The appetizers on the table did not convince me, but the caramelized bananas they brought were exquisite, and their drinks were also very good.

Nelson Gaucho was so kind and accommodating. He helped us out getting all our specified cuts for our large group and was always checking on us!

The food was very good. However the service was not. From the time we were seated it took at least 15 mins before any of the wait staff even approached our table. No water or anything. It was so long a wait that the people who sat next to us just got up and went to the salad bar before they ordered anything. We had to leave the table to find a server multiple times during the meal because the only people who came to our table were serving the meat but they even had a difficult time finding our server. Three quarters of the way through our meal I had to go find a staff member to order a glass of wine and after I spoke with that person the service improved. Then one of the servers interrupted us and asked us if we needed anything else. Then he handed each of us a piece of paper with a QR code and asked us to make sure we gave him a good review! I felt like I just had my car repaired and the service person asked me if there was any reason why I wouldn’t give them a 10/10 score for the service. Poor service and especially in San Francisco where the service in most restaurants is always excellent!

Great location (near Union Square), hearty and quality meat, good wine selection, and also good buffet. We were especially impressed by the staff: Renata, Luciana, Milton, and others from Mexico and Guatemala, made the evening special with their kindness and helpfulness. SUPER RECOMMENDED!

This spot is go good they have the best service and they always check up on your table and ask if you need more drinks our server was so nice to us.

Always a treat to eat here, the meat is incredible and the atmosphere always has a good buzz about it. It is a little on the expensive side for what it is, but as a treat its worth a visit.

We have visited at least 6 Fogo di Chao restaurants in the United States so far. And the experiences were superlative every time. Nothing was pleasant at this restaurant, 20 minutes passed and no one came with the meat dishes, we warned and prayed repeatedly, but in vain. At the other similar restaurants, we were overwhelmed by the rich offer of meat dishes and the benevolent behavior of the staff. Here was a totally negative experience that does not honor the brand. We do not advise you to go to this restaurant

This spot has gone down. If you want a fancy night out this isn’t the spot. No dress code at all. So sneakers, crocs, and pajamas are allowed. The waiter never brought out the sides at all. The meat wasn’t as flavorful.

Someone responded to my post on Google Review to reach out so they can hear and fix it but no one responded to it. Looks like they just want to respond but not fix things. Review: Went here for a team lunch and ordered 13 Churrasco. I asked for Chicken but didn’t get it. I told initially before ordering that I don’t eat Pork and Beef but all they kept getting was pork and beef and lamb once. After several. Rounds I asked for Chicken and Mario our server said “oh you didn’t get it, let me tell them to get it outright and asked me if I want thigh, breast or something else” I said thigh. Next 20 mins nothing arrived, eventually ended up asking 4 more times but didn’t arrive and I was just eating from the salad bar. All 12 others finished their lunch and was time to order dessert. I ended up ordering dessert but didn’t get my chicken (or rather anything good to eat) Mario was just showed Super happy face all the time and eventually gave us a slip to write a review. Really thanks for bring this 1 star and really pathetic service.

My experience at Fogo de Chão San Francisco was incredibly disappointing—especially given how poorly they handled an issue caused by their own staff. I was there on April 8th for a business dinner when a server spilled meat juices on my sport coat. I spoke with the manager on duty immediately—she apologized, gave me her card, and asked me to dry clean the jacket and email her the bill. I had it dry cleaned twice, but the stain did not come out. I emailed the manager twice and got no response. When I finally called the restaurant five days later, I was told she was on vacation—without an out-of-office reply—and was asked to resend everything to another email address so they could forward it to the corporate team. I did so immediately. Four more days passed before corporate contacted me. I replied right away, but then they went another four days without a response. After more back and forth, they asked me to ship the jacket to them—on April 28th—and sent a label. I was out of town and mailed the jacket as soon as I returned; it was delivered to them on May 8th at 9:05 AM. By May 17th, I had heard nothing and followed up. Still no response. On May 21st, I emailed again. They finally replied on May 23rd claiming the check was in the mail, blaming “confusion with the local team.” The check arrived May 24th, nearly seven weeks after the incident. And yet—it was for less than expected. In the time Fogo delayed, the price to replace the sport coat increased by $136.18 due to a tariff-related price change that went into effect on the very day the jacket was delivered to them. I provided documentation showing this. They refused to pay the difference. To recap: I acted in good faith at every step. Fogo’s delays, miscommunication, and lack of urgency directly caused the price to increase, and now they’ve decided it’s my problem to fix. This wasn’t just poor service at the table (which, by the way, included missed drink orders and some guests not being served beverages until 20–30 minutes after sitting down)—it was a total failure in customer care. If you're wearing anything you care about or planning a business dinner, think twice. If something goes wrong, you’ll likely be the one paying for it—literally and figuratively.

Host was extremely friendly and courteous. Immediately seated at table and my server arrived shortly after. My server Rahel was extremely patient, polite and attentive. I asked for several recommendations including both wine pairing and also dessert. She was smiley and recognised my needs, neither being to imposing but not to distant when I needed. Salad bar had a good selection and was fresh. Rice was hard and undercooked, dissapointing as this is a staple. Meat, terrible. Extremely bland and tasteless. Lacking salt which is the absolute basic of cooking the meats particularly picanha. This was frankly an insult to Brazil. The desert was ok, present well. The Pão De Queijo were embarrassing and need major work. Gaucho Pablo was fab, attentive and friendly however all the meats are cut too thick. The whole process is to cut thin and put back on the grill to keep it tasty. Third visit to a fogo restaurant and won’t be back. Also why no grilled pineapple at this store ?

Only reason I’m giving this a 2/5 instead of 1 is because the food was really good and the waiters were doing their best in a horribly managed restaurant. We are travelling in SF with our kids over the holidays and since Christmas Eve is the main Christmas event in our culture, with the main feast and opening of gifts etc and this is our first time not having our traditional Christmas dinner we decided to book Fogo as our celebratory dinner for the occasion. We had a table booked at 8pm and arrived on time for our reservation only to be ushered to a waiting area. We weren’t thrilled as one of our kids is autistic but we had prepared him for it to be a different Christmas eve so he was up for it but we waited for an hour after our reserved tim, which was just to much for him and in hindsight I wish we would’ve taken him to McDonalds rather than the waiting area, which was over crowded with people in the same situation as us. Staff tried to make things better by offering us a drink around the 1 hour waiting mark and they removed one dinner from our bill, but the night was already ruined when we finally sat down and it was our mistake trying to make the best of it and go ahead with the dinner - we had been looking forward to it and our other kids were also super excited to eat at Fogo so we really wanted to make it happen for them. Our autistic kids battery was already depleted when we were finally seated and everything that followed was a disaster. The service was a mess, we got our glasses of wine after we had eaten our meals, mashed potatoes and vegetables arrived after the late glasses etc, so dinner was definitely over when the sides arrived. We had to ask for plates at the buffet because they were all out etc. The waiters were all extremely kind and nice but under a lot of duress as the place was a chaos. We get that Christmas Eve is a busy night and that everyone was doing their best but having people wait for an hour after their reservation time is unacceptable and nothing but horrible management of the restaurant. We paid $500 for having our Christmas eve ruined. So, good food - bad experience

This is probably my 10th visit to this Fogo De Chao location. My Previous visit was a disaster which was my one year anniversary with my partner and management reached out to me about coming back to visit to mend the experience. They sent something in the mail which had nothing in it but regardless I am a man of good faith and always try to be optimistic. It tends to be that I have better experiences here when it's not a special occasion or if I dress in sweats which I end up giving a 5 star review for the service and experience. This time, I came around Valentines day under the pressure of my partner wanting to do something special, we were gifted a $100 gift card from his grandma on Christmas to Fogo De Chao since he told her I love Fogo De Chao. I knew deep down that this was a terrible decision as it was Valentines day and everyone was going to be out. We booked a last minute reservation at 8:45 PM. We didn't get seated until 9:30 PM. I understood the circumstances and was patient. As we were seated, the restaurant was bustling, we did not get attended to until 20 minutes in to our dining but I already knew the routine so it did not matter, I just went to the salad bar and grabbed some plates and turned our little heart shaped calling card to green for the meats. I understand this was a busy day at the restaurant but that is no excuse for the lack of service and delays. I believe they were not prepared for the dinner service and a lot of standards fell through. Expectations were not met that night but I already concluded that which was disappointing. As the service ended, our attendant delivered us the bill and I spoke to her about how I was disappointed about the dinner service and would like to see about how they can accommodate adjustments to our bill due to the unacceptable service. She returned and provided us two options, half our current bill or a another gift card worth over our current dinner service for a complementary lunch/ dinner service. I kindly chose the half bill. With all the issues and terrible experience we had, I knew at the end of the day it was not our attendants fault but management's and also other team members whom were suppose to do their part. I tipped her 20% ($36) from my original $180 bill because why I am giving 3 stars on this review instead of 1 from my last visit here? It's because she and another young male attendant were so attentive and constantly checked up on my partner and I. Even though we waited an hour for our drinks, within that waiting period they constantly check up to see what was taking long. The bar had backed up orders. That is probably the only glimpse of hope I had that night that if I chose to return that I may get an attendant like them and that is the talent and work ethic the restaurant industry should try to seek. I will probably return "again" and I really hope, I really really hope, my experience is to the upscale standards of this establishment.

From the moment you step inside, the service is outstanding. We were in town for my wife’s bday and Coralie, our waitress, made sure we were comfortable 100% of the time. Every server stopped by and made sure we always had a clean plate. I’ve never learned so many servers name in one night! Food was to die for so 10/10 or 5/5 whatever

Ambience was perfect, the restaurant is beautiful. Service was impeccable, everyone lavishing attention on us, and serving with great excellence. Nelson Gaucho and Luciana made sure we got everything we needed. My favorite and all time best cut, was the lamb steak. Have never ever had such a delicious, tasty, tender lamb steak. It was even better than the chops.

I love this fogo de chao. You get the beautiful atmosphere and tonight we had top notch service with Louis and our Gaucho Milton. Absolute excellence and the salad bar is the fanciest ever, with the utmost detail like roasted garlic and fresh papayas and let’s never forget the incredible sides like the cheesy bread and fried bananas.

When Fogo de Chao opened in SF I was thrilled. But you cant go often because the whole concept is to gorge yourself. How I wish they offered an option to charge by weighing the plate like at churrascarias in Brasil. But its all you can eat, and its expensive, so to get your moneys' worth you must gorge.

Highly recommended steak restaurant near Union Square. A rich and varied vegetable buffet included in the price, finally, after a month, we ate delicious vegetables cooked very well, but above all exceptional meat. Highest quality service and availability! The gauchos Pablo and Renata did everything to serve us as best as possible, kind and friendly. Thanks to Luciana, who spoke perfect Italian and allowed us to enter the Brazilian world of churrasco. The prices of the meat are adequate while the wine is decidedly expensive, but compared to many other restaurants in San Francisco the food here is really good and plentiful.

Highly recommended if you like meat and want to pay 80 euros per person without wine. Nice restaurant with extensive salad bar and delicious meat. It is very busy so very noisy. We were put on hold because it was full, no problem for us. Wait especially for the delicious red beef that comes along instead of eating chicken or pork.

I have been here a couple of times but everything this time around was phenomenal. From the ambience to the spectacular service to the various meats. Though, the showstopper was our server and his dedication to making sure we were taken care of. Even going so far as to go out of his way to go above and beyond to give us an amazing night. We were served by Renata - Gaucha , her service was extraordinary, I only eat medium well to well done meat and she made sure that I had meats served on my plate. There were another Brazilian guy who came over a few times and he was really kind & proactive. We feel like the atmosphere is too dark and as Brazilian we missed the roasted pineapple on the Menu. Big points to the sides: Mashed Potatoes & Fried Banana.

Today is my mother and my first time dining at this Brazilian restaurant, Fogo de Chao. The food is exceptionally the best. The Chef Milton Gaucho quite many times serving the meat cutted on my table. Milton really cares about the food quality and our dining experiences. He will pay visit to each table and see how we like the food. He would asked my mother what other food she would like to eat... All the waiters and waitresses are very courteous and attentive. I speak highly of this restaurant.

I've visited Fogo de Chao restaurants around the world and always had good experiences.. until now.. The food was as good as ever (when you could get the prime cuts you'd paid the premium for), though the service in San Francisco was appalling. Timeline: We arrived 2 mins before our reservation. The Maitre D told us to wait for the table and he promptly disappeared for 10 minutes, even though tables for 2 were ready and prepared. We finally get to the table and order the premium churrasco. I order a (small) beer. It is forgotten, then finally arrived after chasing. We eat, though are in a sparsely populated area, so most prime cuts avoid us, despite the beckoning over. Time for a second (small) beer. This time, 3 chases and no avail until we'd finished eating. We were offered a free desert to make up for this to be fair, though really who has room for desert after a monster churrasco?? Conclusion: The salad bar is a buffet. Specialist servers carve the meat for you. The staff have 3 jobs here: 1: Show you to your table. 2: Bring drinks orders/keep water topped up. 3: Bring the cheque. All 3 of the above were woeful. Disappointed, this ruinied the mood of the evening. Food: 5/5 | Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5

Very nice place, very good food. Unfortunately, the restaurant loses one star because we had a reservation at 7:15 pm and only sat at the table at 8:35 pm. Too long for a service with a reservation. The reception was full of people waiting and it was impossible to get around the place. It was a shame for the lack of organization. Despite everything, the food and meat were great. One of the absolute worst receptions we have ever have experienced! We arrived early with a reservation and was greeted by a jammed lobby of other guests. We were told that someone would se to us shortly.. fine.. at least 10min after we had our reservation we heard from another group that they had waited for more than 30min. Red Flag! We decided, against better judgement to give them a chance. Finally we're called on to be seated. No apolagies given (more red flags) and a totally careless attitude by the staff who just wanted to place us at the nearest available table so she could move on. Didnt ask us if we needed anything or bothered to explain their menu (which was confusing) Needless to say we quickly decided to go for another restaurant which actually gave a damn, had better food, wines and cost half as much. Horrible service. They take a long time to bring the meat, and they only bring you the best cuts once they see that you're full. It's too expensive for the service they provide. I thought I would have a better time on my 20th wedding anniversary.

First time for dinner at Fogo de Chao and was excellent so will be on our regular rotation. Format is a large salad bar with servers ("gauchos") circulating with skewers of grilled meat that are carved at the table. Salads and salad bar are fresh and tasty and extensive -- 6 or more different types of peppers for instances. Grilled meats, about a dozen, were nicely cooked and quite tasty. Were there on a busy packed Friday night but didn't seem intrusive even with many large groups. One gaucho, Pablo, in particular was quite gracious. Our primary server, Laura, was spot on with timing and helpfulness.

Perfect service, excellent atmosphere, and very very friendly waiters (big up to Nelson). Meat is a treat!! Thank you for everything !!

The service was phenomenal and our server, Paolo, was very attentive! We enjoyed hearing stories about his family in Brazil. Milton was also very kind and friendly.

What an amazing experience. They have a 4 course special that just blows you away. I would have paid full price and it would still have been a great experience. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing. Look forward to coming back soon.

Returned to Fogo de Chao after a few years. The only thing that changed is that I was served by the best staff member they ever had, Maeve. Attentive, professional... and I don't remember the last time I paid the bill and could look at somebody straight into their eyes. From start to end, the experience has been better than any other visit. Meats were varied and frequent; the buffet balanced exotic takes with the basics. Wine a la carte was OK. This convinced me to return to Fogo de Chao earlier than in a few years - thanks, Maeve!

Great Fogo de Chao in SFO. So far we knew this one in Sao Paulo. Very friendly and helpful staff. Milton as Customer Service Representative was very accommodating and friendly. We recommend The Fogo de Chao gladly.

Went here for a convention of orthopedic surgeons. Had the first floor all to ourselves. The salad and appetizer buffet was sufficient. The barbecues were very tasty and tender.

A good salad bar and complements. Good Service but... a limited variety of swords: Picaña, chicken, steak (bad by the way), arrachera (gut) and cold cuts. DO NOT ribeye, No mignon, No sirloin, NO rib, NO quadril.

We used to dine here rather frequently prior the pandemic and decided to make a reservation for Christmas dinner as we've always had a very good experience. Unfortunately, this experience was pretty disappointing. Upon arrival we were asked to wait a short while in the outdoor area where a guest came out, wine glass in hand, to smoke right beside us and not a word whatsoever from any of the staff. Once seated at the table, we were asked by our waiter whether we had any dietary restrictions at which we mentioned that we do not eat pork. This had absolutely zero point as every other meat which came to our table was pork related which we politely, and repeatedly, declined. My wife, after stating clearly that she prefers her meats well done, ended up having only the chicken together with items from the salad bar as nothing else was cooked to her liking. Overall, the food, the service and the entire experience was pretty disappointing and ought to have been much, much better.

Usually a Churrascaria fills you with meat here was not so the waiter with meat the different waiters passed one every half an hour we ate very few types of meat an average quality the table service. Despite you who owe things never arrived was very distracted and unhelpful. I'm not going back. We opted for the full menu of $100 each, but we gave them completely these $100.

Me and my friends took a road trip to California, and our very last meal together on the trip was here! Me and my friends will all agree that this was the perfect place to end our road trip. The place was packed! The service was great, and so was the food. We enjoyed all the delicious meals that were served, and the waiters were excellent at making sure we got everything we asked for. We practically ordered everything off the menu! It was the perfect night. The place isn't very kid-friendly, so you and your date, friends, or family can enjoy a delicious, and well served meal. I really enjoyed the steak (obviously🤪). The steak was perfectly cooked, at the right temperature, and had the juicy flavor that you can only imagine trying. I guess what I'm trying to say is, DEFINITELY try this restaurant for your next stop.

For meat lovers, everything is at will, buffet, vegetables and skewers of different meats. And of course it's excellent for a reasonable Award.

We went with my dad and sister to this in San Diego first, we enjoyed it that much we went to visit it back in San Francisco. First of all, I want to point out how great the attention Luara gave us was, it was outstanding. She was very kind guiding us through the menu. The food was awesome. We ordered a tomahawk 36 oz steak and it was cooked perfectly. The sides, specially the cheesy breads and the caramelized bananas were just addictive. Definitely I’d recommend it without hesitation.

This spot is beautiful. The workers were nice. I enjoyed myself. If you like to try new things and are a fan of different types of meats then this is a great spot.

First time visiting, restaurant serves good quality cuts. Service is superb, especially Pablo Gaucho, he asked us which cut he would prefer, we of course only went for the picannha, medium well, salted to perfection. We highly recommend it. I encourage to make a reservation, we’ve visited on a Friday evening. By the time we were done there was a big line of people waiting to dine in. Pablo made our night 👍

The people at the front desk weren’t so welcoming however what did save my idea of this place was Pablo gaucho and Rachel who served at our table and made the experience a very pleasant one so I hope they get some sort of compensation

Was there on Father’s Day. I entered a reservation on OpenTable for an outdoor seat (parents are relatively COVID-conscious), and I called the day before to make sure that Fogo would honor an outdoor reservation. We arrived ten minutes early; I checked in with the host and confirmed that they could seat us outdoors. The host called us 15 minutes after our reservation time and proceeded to take us to an indoor table. I stated that we had asked for outdoor seating, and the host returned us to reception. 5 minutes later, another host called us and proceeded to take us to another indoor table. I requested again that we be seated outdoors. The second host – instead of apologizing – started to make excuses, blaming me for not letting her know about our preference. The second host then took us outdoors. We noticed that the tablecloth was filthy and asked the host to replace it; she did. She asked if I wanted to speak to a manager, and I replied, “Yes.” The manager in charge of the section came about 5 minutes later with the second host. I relayed the events to the manager; she made a half-hearted apology and started making excuses about a busy night. Once she was finished, she asked whether that was all. She didn’t ask if there was anything that the management could do to make things right. I asked her whether Fogo would waive corkage to make up for this ridiculous experience; she assented. Our server, Willian, took over. Willian was phenomenal – charismatic, attentive, and hardworking. The food was good but largely forgettable. The private equity bean-counters at Bain Capital have clearly done their work: we didn’t receive any ancho (ribeye) or filet mignon until we asked – near the end of our dinner – whether we could receive a round of it. When we received the check, we were surprised to see a service charge of 2% that was not prominently disclosed. Thank goodness California is banning this anti-consumer practice. This amounts to one star. The hosts and indifferent manager started the night off with many negative stars. Willian, the excellent server, earned many stars back. The service charge brought it back down to the lowest possible rating. I am not coming back, even though I’ve enjoyed going to other Fogo locations.

My husband and I took our 24 yr. old son & his visiting buddy here per their requests. We didn't have a long wait, got a great table, even though it was busy. They loved the skewers of meat, that come to the table, the cocktails, and Feijoada (salad) bar (what I ordered as a light eater), that is like none other we've ever seen. SO many options from salads, cold cuts, cheeses, smoked salmon and other sides. A fun Brazilian steakhouse experience!

I made a reservation for 25/12 at 7:00. We arrived and the restaurant was full. We were informed that the wait would be at least 30min since it was Christmas and the restaurant was full. I told them I had a reservation and I was told that since they had no time limit for each reservation, they couldn’t predict how long people would stay eating. Hi???? Really?
Good food but arrogant server
We went to this restaurant for my birthday on Sunday at 2 pm. When I asked questions about how to read the menu, the server was arrogant and condescending. I have dined in restaurants in China, Europe, New York and elsewhere but he stated that I needed to be "adventurous." My husband ordered the meat on skewers but I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. There was also an extensive self service salad/vegetable bar which I did not order because I was tired from a previous activity. After my husband was offered several different meat skewers but I had no food (aside from a shrimp appetizer), a manager stepped in and made things right. But the experience was upsetting even though the food was very good.
