Excellent and fun service

By Anna Beth G |

Joseph was our server and he was FABULOUS! He was busy (almost every table was filled) but he spent time at each table being funny and engaging! They are lucky to have him working there. Everything else was So-S0 but it's nice to have a place to sit down and get food and have a cocktail while waiting for your flight...................

Decent Food, Poor Service

By Mark0076 |

Ate lunch here while on a layover. Food was decent and not bad for an airport restaurant. I had the chicken sandwich which was good. The lemon vinigrette salad dressing was not that good. The waitress was slow and got the order wrong. Overall I would eat here again and just hope for better service.

We Needed to 'Fill-up' Before Flying Home

By 2TravelersMn |

We had a four hour layover at LAX and needed to refuel our bodies after a five hour flight from Maui. Our meals were good, but our $15.00 margaritas were small and just so-so. To think that we thought the price of things was high on Maui, HI?

Excellent food and service!!

By gracebeavis |

Attended a conference recently and had three meals at this restaurant. Each and every time the service was outstanding. We had two lunches and the breakfast buffet. The lunches were the best. Standout selections were the fish tacos and the BREAD PUDDING! I am generally not a bread pudding fan but our waiter recommended it and it was phenomenal! The mac and cheese was also outstanding, but not your standard fare so you may want to check the ingredients before ordering. This restaurant is located in the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. When we were checking out I mentioned how much we had enjoyed the food at the Filling Station and was told it is relatively new for the hotel and is owned by Harrison Ford's son...which was a fun fact!

Not filling

By daisygirl59 |

This place does all it can to live up to the reputation of airport restaurants as overpriced and underwhelming. My husband and I stopped by here prior to a flight and waited quite awhile to be seated though it did not seem particularly crowded or busy. He ordered a cheeseburger, which was not very large or very hot and and came with a scattering of french fries, and I had a caesar salad--$14 for a small amount of lettuce, some croutons and cheese. It would have been another $5 for chicken. We both also had iced tea and somehow the bill came to $50. There's just no way the meal was worth it.

American Airlines area

By MominOC |

had to sit at the bar because the hostess said service would be better. Coffee and BLT sandwich was really filling and great tasting. Came with a price tag of $21 before tip. Oh well.....whatcha gonna do!

Excellent breakfast burrito

By Vaughan3D |

Want expecting much more than a quick bite and was surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal. Friendly service even though the crew was incredibly busy.

OK airport food

By I love travel |

Nice waitress, fast service, OK food. I had one of the flat breads I thought it was kind of gross. May have been because I'd been on a plane for 15 hours. My son and husband liked their eggs.

Best BLT Ever!

By DaveDworkin |

I had a layover at the Delta terminal at LAX and ordered a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. It was fantastic! The bacon was thick and the bread was crunchy and chewy (in a good way). The ambiance leaves a bit to be desired (like almost all airport restaurants) but the sandwich was 5 stars.

Bad choice for breakfast

By retireejim2016 |

This review is for the Filling Station at the Hawai'ian Airlines Terminal, NOT Delta, but I can't get the Trip Advisor website to make that change! Anyway, don't choice the Breakfast Burrito...it's mostly potatoes with very little bacon, avocado & cheese. It does come with some chips & salsa, however... but that's not much of a breakfast item for me,. However, the service was good... got coffee refills easily. Just order something else.

Elevated Airport Food

By Jim C |

Had occasion to eat at the LAX location between flights. Nothing fancy, but a couple steps up from normal airport food. Service was friendly but typically slow. I had the fish tacos, made with Cod, and they were good. Had the warm Chocolate Chip Cookie for desert and it was good. Solid choice for an airport.

Just fine

By 2BEis2SKI |

American has some gates in Term 5 too in case there is any confusion. In fact, all the gates around Ford's are American. I got take away to carry on my flight. Got the BLTA and fries. Maybe a little too much L but overall, I thought it was fine. Prices are average for airport food. Came quick, was packaged well. Good portions. Would stop in again.

Surprise! Fantastic food!

By TravellingtoParis |

We were expecting regular standard airport food… And boy were we ever surprised! The food was fantastic, and our server was great. It's definitely pricey, and the drinks are exceptionally pricey, but it is in an airport…. Try the flatbreads, and ask your server what he or she thinks the best drinks are. They won't steer you wrong!

Terrible. Absolutely the worst wings I have ever had anywhere.

By Paul |

Wings beyond bad. Absolutely drenched in this thick sauce similar to slightly spicy spaghetti sauce. Super super thick sauce. Apparently they serve food that they have never tried since no one could possibly think that these are good. Dry fried wings would have been 100% better. Do not eat here! Also had a chicken sandwich, chicken breast was wafer thin. Barely edible. The high point was that the bun was good.

Very good for airport food

By Sherree K |

I didn't realize that Harrison Ford's son; Ben who is a chef, owned this place. Had a quick bite to eat before boarding my plane. Food was very good, quick, fresh and they will fix exactly how you want if different from menu- refreshing touch. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Great service Great hamburger.

By Claudia D |

I was traveling alone and had a 3 hour layover. Waiting in LA. Lots of food to choose from. I picked this as a casual bar and Grill hamburger sounded good. I was not disappointed. The burger was cooked as I ordered (pink) warm and juicy. My compliments to the chef! The condiments were fresh and salad dressing on just greens was a lemon and refreshing. Danielle, my waitress was so sweet and attentive. She is such an asset to this establishment. I was not expecting such a, 'aim to please' , person in this big crowded airport. The whole staff was really really kind and spot on! Made my dreaded layover so nice. Hope it is the same when I need to come again. Oh and Chrystal the hostess was friendly and knew her job!

One for two beer days at the airport?

By Gtxtrem |

Stopped to get one beer before connecting flight. the service was quick. however, after paying and signing for my one IPA. The bartender informed me that I was over charged and would re issue the credit charge for me. I was presented a new receipt to sign but no credit. The bartender took the new signed ticket for the lesser charge and said he would return.... He never returned with the credit receipt and i finally had to go. When I checked my CC statement I was charged for both. I hope the 33% tip was worth it. I wont be back. there are other choices in the terminal. It wasnt that busy and the bartender seemed to have a handle on what he was doing.

Skip this

By jwillstp |

Looking for a decent dinner before my flight. Stopped here. Service was average. Tried the huevos ranchero and it was the worst I have ever eaten. Eggs overcooked. No flavor. Ordered a margarita which was good. No prices for drinks on the menu. A little surprise when it was a $17 margarita. Next time I completely skip this place.

Best Airport Breakfast ever.

By ChristinePeregrina |

I don't expect much when grabbing a quick meal between flights. Usually, I'm just happy to get something quick and move on. But with today's very long and very early morning layover, a good sit-down breakfast was appreciated. I ordered Huevos Rancheros. The dish came out hot and fresh and surprisingly speedy. It wasn't all that authentic, but a little Tabasco helped. The best part of the experience was the service. My coffee cup never emptied and our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. This is a nice place to spend a layover.

Decent place for breakfast at terminal 5 LAX

By _jetswdo |

I can't stand it when I need to eat breakfast before a flight at airport. I generally hate the fast food breakfast offerings. Also it is annoying that I rarely can find breakfast menu on line for restaurants at airport terminals. That being said, hubbie and myself were able to get a decent breakfast here. Not a huge breakfast choice, but average pancakes and eggs. Coffee was horrible- (We should have stopped first at Starbucks or Coffee Bean first- not sure which one was in this terminal) and brought coffee to the restaurant. Before Ford's Filling Station came to this terminal, we would go to adjacent terminal 6 to eat at Ruby's- Both are very over priced as most airport restaurants are. Anyway, with Ford's Filling Station convenient in Terminal 5 for Delta flights, it will due. Service wasn't great, so allow extra time to eat here.

Coolest Airport Bar in LA

By zoe_the_wonder_cat |

It didn't hurt that this bar was situated basically at gate 55A when I was flying out! The service was outstanding and the bartender was very gracious. I had a salad and it was quite good. The atmosphere and the staff made the customers feel relaxed and welcome. The prices are higher than off airport, but not as crazy high as some of the places.

Very good airport food!

By Charles1019 |

I had a 3 hour layover on my way to Las Vegas so I stopped and ate here. I had the Huevos Ranchero, one of my favorite meals which was very good and their split pea soup also very tasty. I did pay enough attention to the details about the soup because what I thought was going to be a bowl was actually a small cup that cost $9.00 which is way overpriced.

Good restaurant at LAX!

By FloridaNativeJan |

What a good option to chain restaurants at the airport. The food and service was very good. We had just arrived from a flight from Atlanta on Delta and had not been served any food!

Breakfast Before Flying Home...

By MzMimi904 |

We all hate airport food, right? Wrong!! I was worried that a) I wouldnt find a good breakfast spot... and b) it would be way overpriced. Imagine my surprise when I came across this spot... and right across from our departure gate! The food was great, service was friendly and reasonably priced. Check it out!! Side note... I love Harrison Ford!! :)

Airport food L.A. prices

By Frank K |

Had a bloody Mary and burger. With tip $43 But they were really good Bloody comes with bacon Burger was cooked to perfection So next time you a lengthy layover on American Airlines and got extra money stop by for lunch. And yes even at 60 years old they check your id.

Dine Elsewhere

By Raventwisp |

When in LA, the cuisine is a good fraction of the fun. These dishes were uninspired and very heavy, and the service, while friendly and very professional, knows that they're serving subpar quality food. With all the options in Terminal 6, this is not worth your time.

Great Breakfast!

By Kim B |

When we are in Terminal 5, we always try to grab a drink or a quick bite to eat here. Their Bloody Mary's are very good! We have always had fantastic breakfasts here as well. Their breakfast on flatbread is delicious! We have always had good service here, and when we say we are in a hurry, they deliver our food in a timely manner.

Best Bacon, Ever!

By Beyondthebull |

We ate at Ford’s on 4 occasions. All of the food was excellent. The waffles and pancakes were superb. I had the best tasting bacon and best tasting sausage that I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The bacon was probably the best I’ve had anywhere. Service was consistently excellent. Ford’s Filling Station has earned my vote for a Food Emmy

SUPERB, FRIENDLY & GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TOP FOR THIS PLACE!.

By Alex S |

For a quick bite, a cocktail or 2, to relax, to chat with friendly staffers or to familiarize yourself with the area; try this place. You might be in not of good mood due to some problems with your flight; delays, long wait or what not...stopping in this restaurant will help you ease the pain. They are ready to make a conversation with you, help you on whatever and however they can. Let's face it, we as a traveler always look for a friendly atmosphere...you'll find it here...I'm not kidding!!!. The Bartender Thess made me laugh after knowledge of a long delay of my flight, suggested a quick bite, a good drink and made my day easier. I felt more relax before my flight.

Great food and great service

By Andrew B |

This is a great spot to grab a meal before your flight. The service was great and the food was good.

Real food cooked from scratch food in the airpot

By MsKristiRN |

I loved this place and I was told the menu changes every 3 months (or every 3,00 miles). Like a real gas station there is a convenience store attached and a "stop-n-go" breakfast is available in the mornings. This is a great restaurant choice to fuel up for a trip or burn some time between flights, It is a full-service filling station, all of the food is made from scratch and taste like It. The Bacon wrapped dates were above Standard and I tried a bread pudding that was fuel for the gods.! It is a high octane place and the price at the pump is a little high but OMG the food is Premium. I got a little tour of the kitchen and it is amazing they put out this quality in the space they have to work with. The service staff here are super nice, not what I expected from airport dining at all. True to LA they are owned my family of Harrison Ford but they don't seem to run on just star power.

Be aware - Auto tip 18%

By Leandro P |

They add automatically 18% tip on any check, crazy for the place and the food offered. Very expensive, 17 usd for a simple burger with chips (not fries).

Delish

By Carol J |

The food is excellent and very fresh. Service, outstanding!!expensive but to be expected at airport. Would recommend

Very good airport fare

By California-ite |

We used our spare time before a flight to try Ford’s Filling Station in terminal five, and were pleasantly surprised. I had huevos rancheros, which were plated creatively and quite good. I also had pomegranate green tea with honey. The service was top drawer. I was crumpling a piece of paper at the table, and out of nowhere someone appeared to toss it for me.

Mediocre

By NoMistakes |

Mediocre food, came very quickly but was cold. Fries tasteless and cold. Drinks ok but expensive( what do do expect at an airport). Differrent loud music playing in bar and adjacent dining area so one cannot hear anyone speak. Service fine. Chairs uncomforfortable. Do better! Want a good hamburger at LAX.

Good breakfast... at an airport no less.

By sirpres |

It's hard to find a good breakfast restaurant anywhere and good food period at any airport. We found both at Ford's Filling Station. I had pancakes and they tasted like the ones my mother used to make (which means made from scratch)! Very friendly wait staff. We will make it a stop every time we have a layover at LAX.

great food, terrible service

By squeezerb |

stopped in to eat between flights, sat down and didn't get waited on for 10 minutes, although it didn't look that busy. after the food was served, our waitress didn't check back with us until we were done. a request for a water refill went unfulfilled. the food was great, but it took 20 minutes to get a bill and pay, but only thanks to the diligence of the bus boy. I guess these folks don't understand that service is as important as having great food. $35 for breakfast for 2. if you have a close connection, I would find a different place to eat.

Layover in LAX

By Lisa A |

My husband and I were at LAX for a long layover on the way home from a vacation. We chose Ford's Filling Station because it was near our gate and it was serving a hamburger, which was what my husband was hungry for. He had the signature burger with cheese and bacon on it. He said it was delicious. I had the BBQ chicken flatbread. It was fabulous. Angie was our server on 9-22-15 in the evening. She was very attentive and helpful with our food choices. It was a great experience for us.

Downtown LA

By garnett h |

This restaurant/café is located in the Marriott LA Live. Our party ate here two times ..... the first time for dinner around 7:30 ish. It was fairly occupied but it took way too long for the order to arrive. So long, in fact, the front of the house comped half of the meal. This was not the fault of the waitperson but the back of the house. Our waitperson was cheerful, pleasant and most apologetic for the delay. The meal was very good and not too expensive for a downtown restaurant in a major hotel. Two of us had the hamburger which was cooked to perfection along with delicious fries. The other two selections were the house salad and pizza. Both were good. The second visit was for a late lunch (1:30ish) when there were not too many present. Very good bloody marys, great "chicken soup" and a Chicken Caesar Salad which was equally good. The only problem was the salad did not come with crackers or bread. Our waitperson said a mini load of bread was available for purchase but would take 3-5 minutes. We declined but he brought one on the house anyway. He was very efficient and took great care of our needs.

Great food

By robinlbr |

The pulled pork grilled cheese was amazing. One of the best things I ate on my entire trip. And we ate a lot of good food.

just ok: mediocre at best

By Jason F |

Even for airport food it was mediocre. Ideas were good, but execution was poor. Bacon wrapped dates were mushy and the bacon was under cooked. The deviled eggs had the flavor of a brown paper bag and the burger kinda looked and tasted like one of those frozen minute burgers you get at a cookout in the park. They were understaffed so it was a long wait, which was fine since was had a long layover. The staff was friendly and looked to be trying hard to keep up, but still I was surprised at how many tables they kept turning away- I saw at least 14 people leave and those were just the ones I noticed, leaving half the dining area vacant the whole 2 hours we were there. Yes- 2 hours. The Best thing we had were the bloody Mary's with a 1/2 piece of candied bacon on top- but beware: those puppies are $17 each and they do not put prices on the drink menu, and the French fries were perfectly double fried. Next time, I'll wait in line at Habit or In&Out and just have a drink somewhere else. Probably wouldn't go back to this one. Maybe the DTLA is better.

Glad I didn't listen to negative review

By G O |

We had some time to grab a sit-down meal at LAX terminal 5 and I looked up several places to eat beforehand on yelp since it was already on my phone. Glad I didn't listen to all the negative reviews. The meal really exceeded my expectations - nothing near what I read or maybe I just lucked out. We got our meal very quickly and it was delicious even though all the tables were full with customers. The waitress was nice and attentive if we needed anything. So disregard some of the negative reviews. We really had a good experience and wouldn't hesitate to eat there again if we are in Terminal 5.

Good but you pay

By j0erayme |

Nice place for a meal but it's pricey. I understand LA prices but a $15 bloody mary... jeez. Food was good, service was good.

Comfort Food at LAX

By mikelcesc |

With no intention of ordering any more than a glass of wine before my red-eye flight home to CLE, I saw the person next to me at the bar enjoying a bowl of tortilla soup. It looked delicious. It was topped with avocado, queso fresco and cilantro. I wasn't even hungry but I had to have it. Hard to believe, it was better than it looked. I asked the bartender if I could look at the menu. The menu contained a host of my comfort foods: deviled eggs, huevos rancheros (served all day), cuban sandwiches...I could go on. How perfect before boarding a sardine can and hurtling yourself in to space! I think there are a couple other Ford's Filling Stations around LA. Next time I'm back, I'm going to find one. This one is in Terminal 5 at LAX. The only way in is to have a boarding pass.

Great breakfast find at LAX!

By kkr67 |

Service was delightful. Best oatmeal ever--secret ingredients include buttermilk and cinnamon. Loved hueveros rancheros . Great coffee too! Unlimited refills.

Could buy a car for what they charge for meals!!!

By SVKaz |

We had time before our flight to Memphis so we walked up and down to find a good place to eat. Ford's Filling station looked good-inviting and we liked the name so we gave it a try. Service was good, we were served right away and our waitress took our order-miraculously without writing anything down! We questioned her-how do you remember it all? She just smiled and assured us that she would remember our order....and she did! The only thing was, our bill knocked us over in shock. There were costs that we did not see, our son's added bacon and cheese in his burger cost 3.50. He ordered his burger and was asked if he wanted extra cheese and bacon, of course he said yes without realising it would come at a cost!! Anyway, the meals came and were pretty average just very expensive by the time you added tax and tip. The bill came to way over $100 for lunch, we had not paid that much for lunch in the whole time we were on our holiday! My son's burger cost USD$18.00 which is $25 Australian!!!!!!! Who pays that much for a burger? We do, apparently. Even now, our holiday long over, we still remember the cost of that meal, it makes for great conversation! Needless to say, on our return flight from Memphis, we just kept walking past FFS, no need to refuel there again!

Underwhelming food and service

By khoward67 |

Keep in mind, I have a low bar for airport food. Having said that, the food was mediocre at best. $15 for a breakfast burrito is outrageous. The particular server I had was terrible. He was distracted and disorganized. I thought that he must be new, but that was not the case. I waited 15 minutes after ordering to get my coffee (and had to ask twice before receiving it), and another 10 minutes for my meal. 25 minutes seems like a long time to wait for an airport meal. Poor service. Mediocre food. Expensive for what it is. Go someplace else.

Surprisingly Good Airport Food

By TravelerfromNJ2 |

Located in Terminal 5, we stopped in while waiting to connect for a red eye. The hostess and server were pleasant. I had Em’s Favorite Salad with chicken, and my husband had the Smoky Turkey Sandwich. Both were quite tasty. Service was quick. They also have a bar. You enter through a newsstand. Great choice in Terminal 5!

Wonderful food and service!

By kitskornerdotcom |

We had the pubburger, BLTA, and side salads. Our server was busy but very attentive and helpful. I have allergies and she worked with me to get to eat safely! I would highly recommend this place to any one!

Expect to pay more at the airport, not this much more

By barnesrph |

I was in LAX in the morning after a flight from Honolulu and needed some breakfast, I didn't have long between flights and just wanted something quick to go. They had a rack of breakfast sandwiches in a heated cabinet so I got one sausage sanwich, one bacon sandwich, and one chorizo wrap to go. The tab was $41. They tasted fine, worth about $5 - $7 each, this was just too expensive for what you got.

Mehhh... just ok.

By Tawnyrval |

Heading to the East Coast, and since I've been to Rock N Brews many times, I decided it was time to try something new. The Filing Station was right next door. Our server alerted us immediately that their system was down, so they were cash only. He was quick and friendly. The burger and fries could use some improvement—I wasn’t a fan of the lukewarm fries but didn’t want to send them back. The burger costs more than Rock N Brews and the portion was smaller. Next time, I’ll probably head across the way for some Mexican instead.

Great airport lunch spot

By MFrankG |

Some of the nicest airport staff I've ever met. Great food and enough room to store your luggage while you're eating.

Terrible Burger!

By Joe F |

I've never had a burger as awful as this one... I'll repeat, I've never had a burger as awful as this one! Chicken was clearly burned, but still served up. Bread was hard as if it were stale. Chips were as old as Jesus! Absolute garbage... The only good thing I can say is the service was reasonable. I guess being at an airport they don't need repeat customers and will always have stranded people to give it a shot.

Just Average

By bapeljagr |

We visited on March 6th. We both ordered the pub burger. While the burgers were both cooked to the desired level, they were nothing more than institutional burgers. Nothing special at all. $15.50 per burger. Service by Angelica was average

Salad and Beers Between Flights

By CyclingGeo |

The food (salad) was fresh and tasty and the beer was cold. We sat at the bar and service was friendly and efficient.

Superior Airport Fare

By RandyRoss |

We ate breakfast here on a stopover at LAX between Kauai and Detroit. My wife had the breakfast special and I had oatmeal. Both were excellent and ample. My wife's meal, in particular, was huge. The prices are the usual for any airport (a bit on the high side) but the food was very good and the service excellent.

Like all Fords I've owned, fairly good

By mafac |

Food was tasty, service a bit slow, and we were shuffled around a bit between people. $17 for a Bloody Mary - maybe too much...

Best meal in an airport restaurant

By konacal |

Maybe not the best meal ever in a restaurant but I only had one meal here... I definitely will go in again. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. I would go out of my way to get to the restaurant in town. The only downside is you have to clear TSA to get in.

Be careful

By Greg K |

The sandwich we had was ok but I find it very rude when it comes to paying the bill early because the waitress was knocking off for her shift to find they slap a 20 % tip on the invoice for any cost over $ 75-00 So my suggestion is to pay for everything as you get it and don’t let them create a tab because with the tax the airport taxes and tip it makes it a expensive meal I wouldn’t revisit because of the way they charge. I read reviews on the other bars in terminal 5 at LAX about tipping and people complained about them This mob is just as bad

Breaky

By LG 🥗🍯🥂 |

Great service. Joshua loved us Aussies and treated us with a big welcome. We had a mushroom and kale flatbread. Was yummy and enough for two. The drinks were awesome.

Great for a glass or two of wine before the flight

By Arthur225NYC |

Finally, a restaurant that does not charge an arm and leg for a glass of wine. Had the House red at $9.50 per glass and the pour was generous. Wait staff are friendly.

Haven't Eaten Airport Food This Good In Years

By Grundoon |

Ford's is a place that if they wanted, could serve awful food at high prices, could not care, and would get away with it. What better than a captive clientele in a hurry for their flight? Well, Ford's Filling Station isn't that kind of place. Like most of our fellow diners, my wife and I were between flights. The timing of the layover had us there right smack in the middle of lunchtime. Despite being very busy, the place was running well. The greeting was warm and genuine, exceeded only by the friendliness and competence of our server. The food was good. If you decide on the burger make sure you add the blue cheese and griddled onions. No, no, says my wife. Make sure you add the cheddar and bacon. You decide.

Excellent Experience!!

By Fdelidude |

Who would have thought that literally right across the the walkway from Skewers ( THE Worst food in LAX) one would find this gem! Started with a great Bloody Mary ! Actually one of the best ever! Keep in mind, I’m sitting here in terminal # 5 of LAX. I’ve always avoided LAX while traveling but had no choice this trip. This combined with a FOUR hour layover = a cranky traveler. How amazing to luck into this restaurant! Our service was great, food delicious and besides the constant annoying flight announcements a delightful experience. If I ever have to endure LAX again I’ll seek out Ford’s!

Excellent service!

By Gloria Jean R |

We were transiting at LAX & chose this place to stop at. Such a gorgeous friendly guy as a waiter, nothing was too much trouble. The menu is extensive, fresh juices, good quick service, roomy & clean!

Good stop between flights

By Susan K |

My husband and I ate here flying home from Maui. The food was definitely a notch above normal airport food. He had the fried chicken sandwich and I had pulled pork grilled cheese which was unique and very good. We both had fries as a side which were good. Excellent choice for a quick bite while at the airport.

Best Airport Meal Ever!

By Mr_Stale |

We were on a 3 hour layover from an early morning Tampa/LAX/Oakland flight at the end of vacation. We were starving! J had the American Breakfast (sausage patty was particularly outstanding), and I had the Smoked Turkey with Jalapeno slaw and green salad (lemon vinaigrette). J enjoyed 2 bloody marys which came with a slice of their applewood bacon on top. Everything was fresh and delicious -- server was attentive and excellent. To those who always say "pricey" -- everything in the airport is ridiculously expensive, including a bottle of water. Our brunch was under $100 including a generous tip, and it was worth EVERY PENNY! Would not hesitate to go back and enjoy if we have the opportunity!

GREAT food and service...but a bit pricey for lunch.

By Dawn D |

We flew American Airlines on our recent trip to Maui and connected in LAX. Not a whole lot of restaurants to choose from in that area, so we chose Ford's for lunch. Got a seat right away with no wait, and our server was FANTASTIC. She was very busy but very attentive. Too bad the people next to us were not as patient and were quite rude to her. She still maintained a friendly, professional attitude. Food was amazing...it was my first time having fish tacos and they did not disappoint! My husband had the BLTTA and it was amazing as well! Our bill was over $50 but only because I gave her a great tip. We don't drink but I'm sure our bill would have been quite a bit more if we did. Will be back if we ever fly American and connect in LAX again. :)

Breakfast not good

By travelerd2w |

The menu looked good so we went in. But just because they know how to write up a menu item doesn't mean they know how to cook it. Run, don't walk, from this place at breakfast time...there are too many other good options at LAX. Tea was weak, they only had artificial creamer. Eggs were rubbery, bacon looked good but was tasteless, biscuit was tough, potatoes were okay. Huevos rancheros was terrible- deep fried tortillas, overcooked "sunny side up" eggs, one tiny slice of avocado. We left most of the food on our plates and went elsewhere to eat again.

Above Average Terminal F&B!

By alan a |

Great and immediate service, Comfortable environment. Margaritas were superb. Fish tacos very flavorful and served hot! Overall--well presented------- However--Watch for the compulsory 18% gratuity and service charge!

Yes, There is Good Airport Food

By Maryann L |

We had dinner on a long layover from Mexico to Sacramento. There were several restaurants near our gate in Terminal 5. I think we choose the best. Our server, Danielle was efficient and just delightful. She was so upbeat and nice, just what we needed after a very long hour clearing Customs. I ordered the chili verde taco. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the sauce cheesy. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich. It was served on thick, toasted egg bread with melted cheese and salsa. I had a glass of the house white wine. It was nicely chilled and a generous pour. My husband had a tall pale ale. The food was well prepared and the service prompt. Ford's Filling Station is an excellent choice if you must eat at the airport.

Cut above most airport food

By JohnJ64 |

We had an early 7:00 flight out of LAX and stopped in for a bite to eat - we had a good hour to kill before the flight. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chirizzo which came with a few tortilla chips and a serving of some very tasty salsa. The portion was very large. It's big enough to share if you're not used to eating a big breakfast. It was so good that i ate the whole thing on my own and as a result slept very well on the way to ATL. ;) The burrito and orange juice ran about $20 plus tip; typical prices for airport food. Service was average, but getting the ticket processed was a bit slow.

If you have nothing but time

By Denise L Black |

We were seated rather quickly but it went down hill from there. Waited over 5minutes to put in drinks and an appetizer. It was another 10minutes before the drinks came. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra sauce what came was dry and besides the crust having a bit pink look couldn’t tell if any sauce was used. I asked for sauce and was given a small dipping cup with ice cold sauce. My husband got pulled pork grilled cheese which looked great but he had to ask for sauce. He enjoyed the sandwich and added the cold dipping sauce to it. The waitresses were friendly but the time between visits was horrible. I’ve been to many Airports and this was absolutely the least favorite spot to eat and would not stop here to “Fill Up” again if traveling through LAX.

Good

Quick, good food, service was nice. I had room to sit and relax before my flight. I'd go there again for sure.

Great Airport Food

By Doc-squat |

My wife and I spotted The Filling Station in LA-X. All of the restaurants in the airport are on the expensive side but the food being served caught our eye so we stopped and ordered. The waiter was very friendly. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich and my wife had the regular hamburger. Not only were they very tasty but they were very large portions. This is not your regular burger. It was a think of beauty. We were quit satisfied with this experience and would eat there again. We reccommend this place for anyone who is hungry for a good burger or sandwich.

Fabolous Fords!

By Miamor13 |

This is a great spot for a drink or burger before you fly! The house made bbq potato chips are the best! Great burgers as well. If you love the Bloody Mary , this is your spot!!

Surprisingly good food

By Jeff G |

You expect overpriced marginal food at many airport locations, because they have you on the hook. Ford's menu was a little limited, but we all found something that we could eat. My pulled pork with the pepper jam was very good. The bread was toasted to a consistency that was crispy but still soft on the inside. The highlight was Danielle. With seats turning and lines of people waiting, she was engaging, friendly, and as attentive as she could possibly be while handling the large number of people in her stations. She made the visit more than just a quick bite before a flight.

Cute decor but bland food

By macinoregon |

We were between flights and hungry for lunch so stopped at Ford's. We were attracted by the deli sandwich menu. We both ordered the turkey sandwich with fries. The turkey was tasty - actually cut from a turkey breast and not pressed deli meat. The problem was the roll - really too much bread for the amount of turkey and cheese in the sandwich. It was tasty but overwhelming. The fries were pale and limp and tasteless. And like all restaurants at LAX - overpriced. Apparently being a captive audience at an airport is license to overcharge - except at Portland Int'l in Oregon.

Good for a burger and beer

By Matt O |

Stopped in for a burger and a couple of beers after my connecting flight was delayed by three hours. Great burger, very good fries, and some decent beer on tap!

Pretty good airport food

By axs666 |

A good choice in LAX. The open layout lets you observe the concourse which is good. The service was reasonable. Food was OK for an airport. The beer selection was surprisingly good, I enjoyed my Abita beer.

What To Expect at an Airport

By Kyle C |

If you're in a rush, go somewhere else. The waitstaff tries but they are understaffed and it shows. The food is above-average. The chicken caesar salad was good. My wife got stuffed dates. The dates were good but you only get 3 for the price. Avoid the cocktails, they don't list the prices and they are *high*. I'm talking $15 per cocktail and they are small. I would only go here again if they weren't busy and everywhere else was.

Scammed

By Kassie H |

Hi there, We just ate at you establishment and we are extremely appalled by the cost of our drinks. The drink prices are not listed and when we received our bill, it stated that a Bloody Mary cost us $19!!!!!!!!!!! That is more than the pizza we ordered. We were shocked and felt totally scammed. Even the waitress was embarrassed and it totally put her in an awkward position! This was more than the drinks cost in hawaiii where we just vacationed. Seriously disappointed. I never write complaint emails but this one needed to be written. So gross. List your drink prices so patrons can make an informed decision and not feel soooo ripped off. Bad business. We will never eat at this establishment again. All the best, Kassie

Damning with faint praise.

By Loren778899 |

Fast slow food well done. I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was not as good as it could have been. I think I am damning with faint praise here. The service was indifferent.

Extremely expensive for what you get

By Burm |

Had a four hour layover in LA before flying to Kauai. Stopped for an early dinner. Husband had a burger and I had shrimp tacos. Shared a bowl of chili and had bread pudding for dessert which we also shared. I had a couple glasses of wine and my husband had one and it was over $100. When I questioned why it was so expensive, waitress told me they ran out of house wine and gave me a wine from Sonoma. It would have been nice if they had told me the cost beforehand. Wouldn't go there again.

Solid Choice if the other LA Live Restaurants are Crowded

By MayaD888 |

This was a solid choice for a quick bite while at LA Live. I think this place is overlooked because it's inside a hotel and there are several restaurants in the area. It's very spacious and we had no wait getting seated. The host was very friendly and was great when showing us to our table. We started with the white cheddar bacon biscuits (freebie for Yelp check in!). They were pretty good , but don't hold a candle to the bacon cheddar biscuits at Manhattan Beach Post (but what biscuit does?) I had the Ford's Bacon Burger which was good. Overall good food, but I wasn't wowed.

Listen to the host/hostess for fastest service

By MominOC |

Great service at the bar area which the hostess recommended. Also they didn't add a gratuity to the bill like another reviewer mentioned. Chicken sandwich ($16) was thin but tasted okay. Yes, expensive but it is the airport.

Best place for a bite in LAX, T5

By GradingMachine |

My wife and I have eaten here several times, solo and together, as we fly between CA and PA. It's always good. Trust us: it's your best option in T5. It was so crowded on 5/25---probably in advance of the holiday weekend. The host, an older gentleman (wish I knew his name) was so efficient in managing the reservations. My server (Hector) was awesome. I had the Caesar salad (good, tangy dressing) and a couple of glasses of red wine (Daou).

Early morning breakfast

By LoBommer |

Good stop for breakfast. OJ great, fresh fruit and granola was tasty and the huevos ranchero were ok as I was hungry! Service was good. Average airport fare.

LA Layovers

By MysticTraveler |

Was seated very quickly. For 9pm this little place was very busy, perhaps because of the drinks. 🤷🏾‍♀️ The food came out fast and was fairly decent. Would I stop back through more than likely yes.

Substandard

By Matt |

Staff is inattentive and seem overwhelmed even though it’s quiet. Food took 35 minutes, again, it wasn’t busy. Fries were like warm and soggy, chicken sandwich was like warm and a little bland.

Below Average

By PlanetR |

Stop serving breakfast at 10am on Sunday. Food is disappointing, Slow incompetent service. Another place to avoid at LAX.

Good Burger and Fries in LA Airport

By Tim W |

The two of us each had a cheeseburger and fries while waiting at LAX for our next flight in about four hours. The burger was good and so were the fries. Our waitress, Mary, was very good. Only drawback for this visit was the price.

Best Bloody Mary Ever Hands Down / Foods Good Too!!!

By locosd40 |

Our plane was late so we went this place to get a drink. The gentleman behind the bar was finishing up the homemade "Mary" mix. He told us we would not be sorry if we tried the "Fords Famous Mary". OMG he wasn't lying. This thing was awesome. Try it, you will not be sorry. We both ordered a late breakfast which was delicious and way to much to eat. I had the flat-bread breakfast pizza and my wife had the breakfast burrito. Both were awesome. See you next time Ford's

Good service, Mediocre food

By Troy W |

My visit was at about 7:45am as I was connecting through LAX for a business trip. I was promptly greeted and seated by a very friendly hostess. The server arrived promptly and was also very friendly and appropriately attentive. To this point, 5 stars. The food, however, was not so good. I order a breakfast burrito with chorizo. It had eggs, chorizo, potatoes and avocado wrapped in a flour tortilla. It was not hot, and had very little flavor. The salsa was very tasty, and saved the flavorless burrito.

Lunch before the flight

By Amanda R |

I was blown away at how good the food was here at Ford's Filling Station. I had the deviled eggs and Em's Favorite salad. Both were amazing and very tasty and filling. I have Celiac Disease and nothing in either bothered my stomach. Service was good and food was delivered fast. I would eat there again any time I am in that terminal.

Great sit down breakfast

By Megan L |

I was flying through LAX and had a 3 hour layover. I needed to get some work done and eat breakfast so I stopped in. Great choice! Breakfast was delicious and they didn't mind at all that I sat there for a couple of hours to work. Even after my meal was done and paid for, the waitress checked on me to make sure my drink cup was full and I didn't need anything else. Thanks for the great service!

Bad service, hair in food

By Pam-travelfan |

What a disappointment! I tried to order poached eggs (as the menu said eggs any way), but the waitress said they don't do poached eggs. When the food arrived, there was a huge hair in my sister's food. We told the waitress (who was totally overworked), she took the food away. When she returned with the bill, we stated that my sister never got her food but we were billed for it. She took the cost of the item off the bill, but will not be back.

Service was not fast

By Kellyinthewoods |

My colleagues and I stopped here for breakfast before an early morning flight home. Though the food was yummy - the service was very slow. We had the Anerican breakfast. If you have extra time it's a good place to eat but if you have less then 45 minutes - go elsewhere.

Know your prices!

By ivand9393 |

We were wise to ask about alcohol prices since they were not listed on the menu. A 22oz of draft beer is only $10, while any cocktail or spirit drink costs $16-$17. Reviews also helped us select food, which was great. We had the fish tacos and huevos rancheros. We were on a long LAX layover on a Tuesday afternoon and had none of the service issues cited in other reviews.

Very good

By Randolph M |

Very good food and our waitress, Danielle, was fantastic. The chicken flat bread was delicious with a nice touch of heat. The Cesar kale and chicken salad was great. A very nice experience in a long travel day.

The Perfect Place to Eat at LA Live Before an Event

By powdercoater |

It was a night with the Alan Parsons Project concert at Club Nokia at LA Live. Accompanying me was my lovely wife and my also lovely Mother-in-Law who also likes this band. So my duty was to find a place that was close to the venue and also on the nice side for a yummy meal. Being a Travel Advisor contributor I made sure to check the reviews of restaurants in the area and Ford's Filling Station was highly ranked. It should be noted that when we entered the hotel and asked for Ford's Filling Station they hesitated. Apparently they refer to it as the Filling Station without noting Ford's. Ford is the Chef's last name and important but there seems to be a disconnect there. The restaurant sits directly across for the now Microsoft Theatre (old Nokia Theatre) and a two minute walk to Club Nokia (this Nokia Club/Theatre thing is confusing but they are actually two different places) in the same complex. With Microsoft taking the naming rights to the theatre this confusion will be eliminated. But the theatre and restaurant being in the same LA Live complex made parking great. Dinner for me was sea bass. If I had any complaint it would be that my bass was two thin slices and for me I would have rather had a thicker piece that was not as well done. With that said it was tasty and the presentation was nice too. My Mother-in-Law had the smoked pork chop. It was thick and since she was so nice to offer I got a few bites to taste it too. It was very good if not a little on the dry side. Dinner was finished off with a blueberry cobbler that was divine, warmed with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. That second scoop was kindly offered by our very nice assistant waiter Carolyn. Ryan was our main waiter and he was doing a fair job of keeping us taken care of. The atmosphere is loud, the restaurant sits in the lobby of the JW Marriott and this is an active place. If you are looking for a quiet romantic setting look elsewhere. But if you are in need of a good meal while attending an event at LA Live this is your place. The bar is very active too.

Flavorful and filling

By lovetravel888 |

This spot is great for airport dining. Usually food at the airport is disappointing but here my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. His breakfast sandwich had perfectly cooked egg and a generous amount of bacon on a fresh brioche bun. My huevos rancheros had fried corn tortillas that were nice and crispy and held up to the refried beans and ranchero sauce. Sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly as well. We left pleasantly full and happy we stopped by.

Complete Ripoff

By Tory B |

$24 for a subpar drink, price isn't listed on the menu. This is a blatant rip-off, even for an airport terminal. Go somewhere else.

Not worth it!!!!!!!

By Chef2017 |

Was sat at a table and it took 15 mins. before I was greeted by server Kenia, she was nice but got my order wrong. I asked for a plain chicken sandwich with mayo and that is not what I received, plus it took 40mins. Yes, It is an airport and I understand but it was not that business. As a Chef, I was not impressed and would not recommended this place.

Better Theme Than Food

By Rick D |

Expectations are never high with fooderies in airports so from that standpoint, I wasn't disappointed! Slow service, both for food and bill, but not for clearing my plate away. The best I can say is the water was cold.

Very tasty

By Yorkshire_fern |

Very good food and staff were most helpful tailoring a plain sandwich to my needs as I wasn't feeling too well. Husband said the burger was very good.

Excellent airport food option ... great fish tacos and pretty good sandwiches!

By METRUN360 |

Excellent airport food option ... great fish tacos and pretty good sandwiches! The prices are hiked but that is what should be expected from an option inside the terminal at LAX ... the food has pretty big portions and is fresh, and extremely tasty. Nice selection of craft beers on tap and in the bottle as well. Good option if in the Delta Terminal 5 at LAX.

Great food

By Rob Y |

For an airport this has good food. We had em’s salad which was delicious and the kids enjoyed their grilled cheese. Service was also excellent and friendly. Only knocked 1 star as the main course came before the appetizer.

Average Food, No Complaints

By Shannan L |

Pork taquitoes, buttermilk chicken sandwich, BBQ chicken flatbread. Nothing stood out as exemplary, but it still tasted good. It was quiet for an airport so we could still converse. No complaints. Would try it again, maybe.

awful

By Angela H |

Awful customer service; the manager is a real jerk and has NO business running a management position at a restaurant, let alone a restaurant at a major international airport. I would never recommend this place for both the food and the customer service.
