The staff and cook at this restaurant were extremely friendly and attentive. We had a GREAT pizza and the Greek salad was well presented and delicious. A very down-to earth atmosphere and an excellent place for lunch. I have yet to eat dinner and enjoy the live music.

I ate here with 8 others last Friday night. There is a very large, well-lit outdoor seating area on gravel and weather-worn, wooden tables and too-small benches. The band was excellent. The have excellent pizzas and appetizers, a very good beer selection, and you can bring your own wine. The only drawback is that they were very busy, and the service was extremely slow and inattentive. Having said that, I recommend the place highly and would go back.

Delicious food, super friendly staff, cute atmosphere, especially when live music is on, but the chairs are very uncomfortable.

This is the best place to find pizza in San Antonio. BYOB or wine! Bring your dog. Live music on the weekends. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

This was my first visit to Fralo's. We traveled from 281/1604 not sure what to expect but it was well worth the trip. The restaurant is wonderfully family oriented. My eight year old son enjoyed socializing with other kids around the campfire, while my husband and I enjoyed some adult time. We ordered a simple pizza, Cured Prosciutto, black olives, mushroom and cheese. The pizza was cooked to perfection w/ very lien Prosciutto, a delicious sauce, and the crust was quite tasty. We had the Pigtails as a starter. The Serrano ham was perfectly salted and complemented the Bufala Mozzarella. Our waitress Melanie was delightful. The price is affordable - we spent $48.15 with tip for three with dessert. The only other pizza that I can say that I enjoyed as much was at Dough's. I highly recommend Fralo's and can't wait to return.

I thought the pizza was very average. Almost all tables were occupied, and there was a musician playing on stage. While the company was nice, the food was just better than acceptable.

We had a work lunch here today and i really enjoyed it. I love the outdoor seating with the lights hanging. The atmosphere is great. We had the sampler pizza and 2 others. Also the Calamari, mozzarella sticks and hot wings! Everything was great!

This is a great place for family and friends. We love the atmosphere! The evening was perfect, we love to come here throughout the Fall and Spring, Summer can be too hot to enjoy outdoor dining. The wait staff are great, friendly and they go out of their way for you. We ordered a variety of 4 pizzas and all were made to order fresh. Full of flavor, scrumptious! When we finished and had already paid our bill, my daughter-in-law wanted dessert, since no one else did, she told the waiter nevermind. Well a little while later he presented her with a big slice of tiramisu. Now that was the top-off for a great evening. That was so nice of him. He is one of the reasons that we'll be back. Fralo's is the place to hook-up with family and friends.

Best pizza in San Antonio Texas. Had birthday party. They have live music outside. Lots of drink options.

If you go when the weather is cool, take a jacket. There is a tent outside with heaters but it can still be cool. There are a few tables inside but servers go in and out constantly and the breeze that comes in can be quite cool. The pizza is very good, particularly since there are few other choices this far from San Antonio.

Good outside yard. Good ambiance and great food. You can even BYOB.

My husband and I went to Fralo's today for lunch. It was excellent. We ordered their traditional 16" pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, canadian bacon, peppers, onions and olives. The crust was thin , slightly crisp with a great chew. The taste was great. The cheese and sauce were not over powering. The service was great. This restaurant is very small inside but they do have tables outside that are enclosed in a tent for the winter so there is plenty of seating. They also have a very good selection of different beers . This is a well kept secret for the locals in Leon Springs . Give it a try.

We were driving to Fredericksburg and stopped here to have lunch. We sat outside which was alright when we were in the shade. However, as the sun moved and we ended up in it, it became hot. We ordered wine, crispy zucchini, and a pizza (half margherita and the other half I don't remember). The pizza and the zucchini were good without being outstanding. Overall an acceptable lunch but nothing that made it memorable.

Second night they didn't have a driver but had a hankering for pizza. So, I pick up. It was ready FRESH and hot at the appointed time. I actually walked in a little early. Spouse had a greek salad and loved it. I started with the Caesar and it was fresh and crispy but otherwise non-descript. Mediterranean pizza was very good as a whole, and the crust was lovely too. I did think $23 for a 15" pizza was a little high. The flavor pretty much made up for it.

This is our third trip to and third review of Fralo's. In sum, our meals have been fair, superb, and superb. This time, we had the spanako pizza. The ingredients were tasty and perfectly cooked, and we especially liked the thinly sliced lamb, which, to my surprise, goes much better on pizza than ground. The waiter was especially attentive, made good beer recommendations from the variety of styles offered, and he served our meal promptly and hot. After two fantastic meals, we're convinced that excellence is the norm at Fralo's. We'll be back again, en appetit.

Visiting our family near Leon Springs, dinner Saturday evening was to be take out pizza. This was the "go to place" per my brother-in-law. He was certainly right. We ordered two large pizzas. One traditional - meat, green peppers, onions, etc, and one five cheese pizza. The place was very crowded so it took a while for our pizzas to be ready. My overall impression is that for Texas, they were pretty good. Coming from New York though, they were average at best. Edible, but nothing to write home about.

We had a group of 8 and did not want in the heat and dust. It was crowded, not by customers, but by the kitchen equipment and pick-up station for the wait staff. The pizza is not comparable to Papa Murphy's pizza nearby and the atmosphere was a negative and the restaurant is dirty.

This was our 1st time to Fralo's. Our waiter Erik was very helpful and sincere in wanting to answer our questions. We had the Greek Salad to start off with and built our own pizza--Fralo's sauce (excellent), spicy Italian sausage, basil and red onions. The food was delicious. My wife and I love NY pizza and we are particular where we eat pizza. We will return. Perhaps next time we'll see if they can "char" the bottom just a little. My wife had a glass of the Carlos Basso Malbec--it was a very good and smooth Malbec (I had to taste to make sure it was good--haha). We were there on a Saturday night and The Blastband was great. The place was full and it was noisy with everyone having a great time. We've had visitors recently and they would've loved this place. We decided Fralo's will be on our list for any future visitors that come. We were seated outside--and the wind kicked up--this blew in a couple of web worms. Not really a problem but it did surprise my wife who then had me take care of them. I got rid of my web worms on my pecan trees because I made a solution poured it on the ground--roots took it in--transported to leaves--and the worms didn't like it and moved on to other trees. Forgot to mention dessert--they were out of Gisele's PannaCotta so Erik suggested the cheesecake--excellent suggestion. It was a nice finish to a great evening out. Fralo's Rock's!!!

The last time I went there, in November 2011, the pizza and wine were excellent. The service, however, sucked. We sat for at least 15 minutes and were totally ignored. I finally stood up and asked for a menu. I noticed many cooks in the kitchen but only one or two doing any work. The pizza, as I mentioned, is very good.

This place offers amazing pizza made in wood fired oven, always fresh ingredients and made to perfection, Bring your own bottle and enjoy dinner Great for families..

Had a project in San Antonio a few years ago and found this place, when back last weekend to see if my memories were still valid. It was delicious, as always. I like my pizza with thin crust, fresh ingredients. They are terrific every time. They were setting up for some music as we finished, they still had the winter tents up. It was a nice evening.

Before I begin, I should caveat I have very high expectations and I judge pizza against New Haven's fabulous duo. I prefer brick oven, but when I can't find that it must be New York style. That being said I will begin my review: I had never heard of this place, but drove by it twice on my way to Rudy's. The byline of "the Art of Pizza" along with the full parking lot made me think that this was a special place, so I made a special trip out there in the pouring rain. Maybe that was my problem; I had very high expectations. If I had read the reviews before hand, they would have clearly been tempered. Hopefully, by reading this review you will either heed my warning or expect nothing and be pleasently surprised. Service: The waitstaff was very friendly and sat us right away. We were lucky that a 2top was open for our party of three and this wasn't a big deal because we had a toddler. Our waitress was excellent; was attentive without being overbearing. I suspect she sensed my restlessness/annoyance at the long wait, because she brought some dough for our daughter which was so incredibly helpfu and thoughtful. Super nice girl. If I could, I would stop right here. If I was judging our visit solely on this woman, it would have been five stars Food arrival time: Very slow given the few customers they had. Food: This is why we go out, n'est pas? Calamari: Allegedly this is freshly breaded for each order. Mabe? But all that means is a bit of flour without any spices. Either the coating or the meat must be properly seasoned. Neither of those things happened. If you are expecting calamari with tentacles and rings, don't. Actually the rings were so tiny, that I wonder if this was a species I had never encountered. The portion size was two toddler fists, with rings so tiny, that it was like eating fried cheerios. The sauce which which was maybe an ounce was bland and inadequate for the amount of food. The calamari was tender and not chewy or over cooked. That is the only positive thing I can say about the dish. Pizza: We ordered the sampler. Normally one would think that this would enable to find something you like and you hopefully discover that they do one thing right. Complete opposite in this case. I can't remember the names, but I can remember what I disliked about all of them and a few which really stood out and not in a good way. The crust was not well cooked. The sauce was very sparse, which would have not been a big deal if it had any flavor or bits of tomato. The crust still had too much flour on it-I prefer corn meal, which maybe particular to the brick oven, but one can get it off the crust with ease. I could taste the excess flour on the tasteless dough. The crust was thin and slightly crisp. I would have preferred it to be crisper. None of the pizzas are truly original. I have seen similar versions in other "gourmet" pizza places. The problem here is that the ingredients did not taste fresh or small batch. The prosciutto was more like smoked ham and the caramalized pears were overdone and way too sweet. What should have been a beautiful melding of flavors was sickly sweet. The chicken was dry and tastless on a another variety. The feta was not salty enough. The corn was canned. The potatoes were mushy. I read another reivewer that said the pizzas was comparable to pizza hut without meaning to insult PH. That was so true. For the price, I expected fresh ingredients with lots of taste. This was a waste of $38 for one pizza and an appetizer, not including 20% tip. Creepiness factor: This guy, I would not use gentleman, bumped into my table and apologized. It caught my attention, because he was involved in a "close" conversatoin with the waitress. At first I assumed it was a customer or the waitresses' boyfriend but it was either the owner or manager. It was during this incident I took note of what she was wearing. If she had bent over, I would have seen cheek. The shorts had what I can only guess is a 2-3 inch inseam. Beautiful girl and ok to wear short cut offf jean shorts to a club or if you are serving in a bar, but just not cool for little kids to be around and in a restaurant atmosphere. I then noticed that several of the other girls were wearing short shorts. Apparently there is a secret club in here for which I could not get the password. This seems consistent with other reviews that this is a BYOB and music joint, so I could understand why the girls would wear them, but again-not a bar. But that again just added to the creep factor, which was also accentuated by the owner/manager guy's interaction with them. He was definitely more concerned about talking to them than his customers as he never once checked on any of the tables when he was in the kitchen/register area. One of the things I love best about mom and pop joints is to see the pride in ownership. This was sorely lacking here. Also gross and a health code violation in other states (I waitressed for a long time), at least one waitress was eating over the counter/register while she was watching tv. It's just not sanitary to touch your own mouth and than someone else's food. (And I live by the three second rule, so I am not a germaphobe.) Even one of the cooks wore tight fitting jeans, which was a WTH???? If you have ever worked in a kitchen, you know jeans in general are not comfortable, but tight jeans take the sweaty factor to a whole new level. The whole thing was a little too trailer trash for me particularly because the place bills itself as a gourmet pizza place where one would a expect a modicum of decorum. So when you see this place on your way to your real reason for being in Leon Springs, do not stop. Keep going. If you really want good pizza with fresh ingredients there is at least one place in SA that does that. Do your research and you will find it.

The pizza and atmosphere is great! Go when the weather is cool and bring a good wine and sit back and relax.

It's a popular place with a nice outdoor seating area. It was a terribly hot evening, but they had fans which helped. Service was really good and fast. The Greek Salad was pretty good, but the dressing was kind of sweet. The pizza is expensive, and the toppings are skimpy, including the sauce and cheese. I think my mushroom topping consisted of a total of one sliced mushroom. They had live music which was quite loud, and he was mostly wailing and moaning. Other people seemed to enjoy it. They do let you BYOB but there's a $10 corking fee. They have a very nice selection of draft beers, but the pizza was so disappointing. I wouldn't go out of my way.

Great pizza. Have anything you want and they deliver. Delivery times can be long but well worth the wait. Definitely suggest trying it.

Fralo's is a local pizza place with awesome artesian pizza , nice draft beer selection and great atmosphere !

Fralo's is my pick for the best pizza in town! My husband and I have been battling over this, but I have decisively cast my ballot. Aside from it's wide assortment of quirky and tasty, like Grant's Pear, specialty pies. There are a billion combinations of build-your-own pizza's with toppings that run the gamut from coconut to capers. The crust is thin and crisp. The sauce is perfectly proportioned. And the cheese pulls, but somehow stays put without ripping everything off of your slice. We had pepperoni and jalepeno, and you could tell the jalepeno had been sliced within the hour. Perfection. The Cesar Salad was also very good, if you are a fan of large shavings of parmesan and romaine lettuce with the hearts. The best part about Fralo's is the atmosphere. It is like a little piece of Austin fell from the sky and landed in Boerne. Most of the seating is outdoors on wooden benches and tables. There's big round bulbs hanging from oak trees. Conversation and laughter punctuate the air. A folksy band played covers of Johnny Cash and Janice Joplin. "Me and Bobby McGee" received a round of noisy applause and a few whoops. It's a bit of a a haven for hippies and hipsters alike. There is something for everyone at Fralo's, and you should go find out what there is for you. Your tastebuds will thank you for it, too.

We have eaten here before and the food is consistently tasty. Not huge servings but enough. It is almost entirely outside dining as they only have a few small tables inside and all the rest are round wood picnic type tables outside with majority of them having umbrellas. It was a Sat. and very crowded by 6. They do not take reservations but will put your name on a waiting list and there was a table available when we arrived. They do not serve alcohol but allow you to bring your own but do charge a $5 corking fee. They also are pet friendly on the outside and there were several small dogs on leashes but these do not bother anyone and we have taken ours although we didn't this time. The tables are small and they serve the pizzas on a pedestal and have to be careful as they tip over easy and there goes your pizza. This visit they RAN OUT OF ICE and so tea not very chilled. Not sure why they didn't send someone to get ice but they didn't. Also some waiters seemed new as they couldn't remember who ordered what and one called Canadian Bacon ~ Italian Sausage:) As most places they do automatically figure gratuity for larger groups and there was 10 in our group. It was a perfect weather evening so pleasant and there was live music that wasn't too overbearing but added background sound. It is right off of a busy expressway but don't really notice the noise of cars. It also is 1/2 block from Leon Springs Dance Hall so can eat and then go dancing too! We will definitely go back and suggest you try it as it is a pleasant and food good.

If love to give Fralos a better review but I have been disappointed as of Kate on my last two experiences. The service there is deplorable. It took over 1 1/2 hours to get our pizza after visiting last night. And though the live music would have been a great addition it was so loud it have half of our party a headache. I asked one of the severs to ask if they could turn it down to no avail. The pizza is good but I've had better in SA. It was the ambiance that had kept me coming back but not now.

We love Fralo's for the delicious food, great wine, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Pet friendly outdoors and live local music. Gluten-free crust is very much appreciated!

looking for NY style slices, they are properly cooked to crispy goodness at Fralo's. Really good and unusual pie toppings aren't cheap but they are tasty and a nice change. Agood kind of hole in the wall with a covered patio, music, good wine and beer list too

The pizza was ordinary. It seemed likely a case of a good idea badly executed. The pizza was dry and lacking in ingredients, especially tomato sauce--and I'm not one to have either my pizza or pasta drowned in tomato sauce. Atmosphere was lacking. A radio was fighting it out with the television tuned to a sports program, making it impossible to hear either clearly or, for that matter, the person sitting across the table from me. Why bother having either on, especially when a musician is playing and singing (out of tune, but I don't blame the restaurant) just outside? Service was good. In short, an ok meal, but not one that I'll go out of my way for again.

We celebrated our daughter-in-law's birthday here and we had a great time! We sat outdoors, and the weather was perfect considering it is the middle of July. Fralo's is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We ordered two pizzas and both were sooooooo good! The crust was perfect and the ingredients fresh. We also ordered the Greek and House salads, both were very good! Fralos's is a BYOB place with a $5 set-up fee. This is very cool, because you can bring your own favorite alcohol. Our server was courteous and friendly; he took some great pictures of all of us, made sure our glasses were full, and threw in some great conversation on top of all that. Fralo's has live music; and yesterday they had a couple of guys playing acoustic guitars and singing all of the great folk classics; it made for a perfect birthday event. For the finale, we ordered Tiramisu and hot Apple pie...wow; very tasty! Our server even brought us a candle. It was a great time, check them out, you will have a great time too.

Attended a 'Meet & Greet' at the start of a wedding week-end. All staff members that were involved with the party were exceptional. & then a guy with a guitar showed up (I guess this happens sometimes on Friday nights- his play list was written by me- ha!) The weekend ended with a brunch of pizzas there on Sunday. Awesome!

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our second trip to Fralo's. Initially, the servers overlooked us, but an alert waiter noticed and thereafter the service was excellent. Our waiter even fetched the bartender to answer a question about a beer, which, alas, he couldn't, but we appreciate an honest "I don't know." In a review of our first visit, I wrote that the pizza was ordinary; this time, the pizza was superb. Chicken and pine nuts topped a perfectly textured crust, light yet pleasantly chewy, and a judicious splash of some very tasty olive oil made for excellent eating. To drink, we had the Jester-King Noble King, a moderately hoppy (despite its description as "abundantly" hoppy) organic beer brewed in nearby Dripping Springs. (Don't let the $13 price tag scare you off; the bottle contains 750mL and it's excellent, especially if you find that the American IPAs have gotten too hoppy.) We're delighted that the owners are serving local products. From the stage, a lone singer-guitarist performed mostly country music (my wife said something about channeling Lyle Lovett). She played well, had a pleasant voice (and this from a fan of classical music and opera) and the amplification left room for conversation. All in all, a memorable meal that lived up to the "art of" part of the restaurant's name, and well worth the price. We look forward to more evening motorcycle rides to Fralo's.

Oh my Gosh!! The most delicious Pizza we have come across in a long time! The combination of the savory blue cheese mixed with the thinly sliced, and caramelized to perfection pears.. top it off with a bottle of wine picked out by are awesome waiter and BAM we're happy girls! The restaurant was majority outdoors in the San Antonio Hill-country. Live music, happy smiling faces. Great energy all around! We will be returning!

Food was awesome. Pleasant and relaxing Surroundings. Good customer service. Excellent live music. Great outdoor seating.

There are definitely pros and cons, depending on what matters to you, you may love it or hate it... outdoor dining - good if you like dining outside. There was a huge fan that made a breeze to keep the bugs away. It didn't keep the mice away, which we saw scurrying the edge or the restaurant/ parking lot line. The ambiance was nice with lights but the picnic tables had bird poop on them. yummy pizza - this is great if you want pizza but the rest of the menu was limited and some of what was on it was unavailable. I ordered a Cesar salad with grilled chicken and it was the worst one I've ever been served - my "grilled chicken" was definitely Purdue bagged grilled chicken from the supermarket. The lettuce was soggy and looked day-old. Not impressed. Beer and wine - good selection. But no other drinks. Close off the highway. As in right of the highway and enter the parking lot. So convenient; but it's so close to the highway that the air quality is not great. This restaurant came highly recommended to us by two different groups of people. Maybe it's a local thing but I didn't love it. I recommend you skip it unless you love pizza and beer outside in the most casual of settings. If you like this review, please let me know by liking it! Cheers!

Another great meal! Our waiter, Jerry R., although new to the restaurant, was very helpful and informative about menu choices and worked with me to prepare an off-menu pasta dish (which was delicious). Great drinks, warm urban atmosphere, nice music, great evening!

Fralo's is always a good choice when the weather is nice. My wife and I dined at Fralo's on Saturday night, when we had our one day of cool weather in September. We enjoyed our pizza very much and loved sitting outside, where we enjoyed the live music and cool weather. My wife especially likes to bring her favorite bottle of wine and being able to enjoy it with our pizza for just a small cork fee.

We go at least once/month. Pizza is excellent, live music on weekends and best of all you can bring your own beer and wine for a nominal cork fee. Highly recommended.

We love eating at Fralo's because we know we will have a relaxed, enjoyable time with very tasty pizza! There are a variety of signature pizzas for every taste or you can create your own from a host of toppings. The owners are so dedicated to their business and it shows!

I have been a loyal customer of Fralo's since 2005. I have witnessed how Mr and Mrs Hakspiel have made this place cozy and warm to make you feel at home. Let's start with some basics: this is not a chain! it's a family owned business, the owners have truly put their heart into making Fralo's a place you will remember and visit over and over again. In that sense, if you are looking for a 5 dollar greasy pepperoni pizza please go somewhere else. Their menu offers a wide diversity of pizzas you are not going to get anywhere else in town. My favorites are the "Fralo's sampler" where you can mix 4 of their signatures pizzas, you won't go wrong here, it is the perfect choice if this is your first time visiting their place. Personally I am addicted to their "Grant's pear pizza", I never thought mixing mozzarella, provolone cheese and caramelized pears with other ingredients could result in such rich and unique flavors! Regarding appetizers, their "calamari" are cooked to perfection and served with a really tasty marinara sauce, a perfect way to start the night! I have never bought wine in their place, but I am sure their selection is great. Personally I always take my own wine and for a very reasonable fee they open my bottles and let me enjoy a great evening! Most of their servers are young men and women going to college, they are well educated and always make sure the service is top notch. Additionally, Frank and Lori always stop by your table if they happen to be there, they truly have worked hard to give Fralo's the reputation it has gained over the years thanks to their great customer service. You might say I am biased since this is one of my favorite places in town, but if what you want is a nice evening, sitting outside listening to live music and enjoying home made pizza this is the place for you. Give it a try, trust me... you won't regret it!

my family ate here today. this establishment is out of town, near the original Rudy's BBQ. the place has embraced the rustic setting and has ample seating outside on rustic wooden furniture. there is a stage with live music. They sell several kinds of beer by the glass, so local, and some of the lesser known kinds. they have an extensive pizza menu that puts anyplace else to shame, and indeed they know how to make some ridiculously good pizza, maybe the best I've ever had. However, I won't be back at Fralo's. Ever. It is just to darn expensive. I felt I was charged twice as much as I should have. The prices are posted on the menu, but they have such weird specialty pizzas that I was just too curious to refuse, and they were all great, but I paid the bill with a feeling of "what just happened." for 2 pizzas and 1 pasta, some soda and tip, I shelled out $85. I argue that they would do better if they dropped their prices, but they won't. And so, I won't be back. next time I want pizza, I will go to California pizza kitchen and pay less that $60.

This is some of the BEST pizza that I've ever had! They have great specialty pizzas and their gluten free quinoa crust is AMAZING! Additionally, they're byob (they do have a beer and wine bar as well)! You really can't go wrong with Fralo's!

We arrived late on Saturday night at Fralo's coming up from San Antonio back to Boerne. There was live music and tons of outdoor seating - very cool! We opted to sit inside. We ordered breadsticks for an appetizer, a pizza, and a slice of cheesecake. The breadsticks didn't make it out before our pizza did, so we got the breadsticks on the house. The food was good, but nothing special. I would like to say how CLEAN the inside of the restaurant and kitchen area was. One girl was dusting the wine bottles on the rack. I also saw them spot cleaning the wine glasses very carefully before placing them back on the glass holder hanging from the ceiling.

Ate here as a group of six on a Friday night. They have a very large outdoor dining area and there was a good band playing. They also have a good beer list. Unfortunately, the time it took to get our three pizzas was unreasonably, extraordinarily long wait! We ordered just before 8 PM and they arrived at 9:20 PM. During the wait, our server was not particularly concerned. Had the pizza been at least above average, I might be more accepting, but it was just average. I regret I cannot recommend the place, despite its evident popularity.

Sunday evening my husband and I went to hear the band Fear and Fortune live at Fralos. I ate the most amazing Greek Salad, my husband had a dessert and beer. A turtle cheesecake and a Lagunitas IPA. He said they were good but I tell you my salad was GREAT! We loved sitting outside listening to the band.

We live in the area and called in an order. Burnt on bottom, scanty ingredients, loads of "space" on the crust where ingredients should be, considering the premium prices payable for toppings. For San Antonio, Leon Springs, Boerne, and general hill country attitude - what was most surprising and unacceptable was attitude of the staff that night, and it was not busy night. Business too good due to growth of this area?

Fralo's is by far the best pizza in the San Antonio area. It is in Leon Springs and is a great place for a laid back outdoor dining experience with friends. Bring your own beer or wine.

We were the only guests at the restaurant and it took 15 minutes for a drink and 45 minutes for an appetizer, then another 45 for pizza. Our server was uninterested In service and would disappear after dropping off items that were ordered. You would think that this establishment doesn’t really want to be open right now. Did I mention that it is summer and 101 degrees, it would be nice to at least get drinks quickly. Food was ok, but definitely not worth the wait. I also had to ask for the check twice and that took 15 minutes. Rough outing really sums it all up!

Having lived close to Fralo's for almost two years we thought it high time we tried it. Yes, it's a little more expensive than you would think for a pizza place (they have much more than pizza) but everything is freshly made. I had the pizza (make-it-yourself) which was delicious. My spouse ordered the pasta with shrimp that he also enjoyed. Our waitress, Shauna, was very patient (since it was our first visit) and she was great. The music was wonderful, not too loud so you could actually carry on a conversation and enjoy it - it was just a fun place to be. Being outdoors I unfortunately got bitten by mosquitoes so next time, and there will definitely be a next time, I will spray before I go! I highly recommend Fralo's.

This was my fiancé and I second time dining in at fralo's. The atmosphere is great with a live band playing. It's also nice that they allow you to bring your own wine and they also allow pets. The only issue is we had was the food was a little cold but that might be cause we ate outside. It also seems the prices went up. We've have better pizza for the price. All in all it's a average place to get pizza.

Great pizza- limited menu, but great specialty pizzas to choose from- Tried the sampler which allowed to sample 4 different pizzas- The duck sausage pizza was the best- The fresh jalapenos were a little overpowering for the sausage, but just picked them off- Started with a baked goat cheese appetizer which was awesome- Need to bring a sweater in winter season, they have outdoor heaters, but may need a sweater in case- we were there too early for the live music, but next time- The pizza is a little expensive but is a good place to hand out with friends- they now have beer and wine and do have a corking charge if byob

Love the pizza and house salad! Great service and good wine selection, too. My favorite place to get gourmet pizza. I make my own, but this tastes what I like, so a great find.

They over charged us on our wine.... Our toppings for our pizzas and bottom line my advice to you is you better off eating at Pizza Kichen and pay 1/3 of the price! They rip you off big time!!!

Eating gourmet Pizzas and salads with wine or beer while sitting outdoors listening to live music says how special Fralo's Pizza is. Staff is attentive and friendly and all this ambience is at very reasonable price. Kid and pet friendly as well. Right off I-10 north of San Antonio. Make it a stop.

I have ate my fair share of pizza over the years and Fralo's has excellent pizza. There are many designer pizzas and the old standbys. I highly recommend their garlic cheese bread/sticks. The restaurant is very small, but has a very quaint bar inside---but the outdoor seating is covered and ample most days. But who really wants to eat inside when you can look at the views of the hill country and socialize on a wood table. This venue is kid friendly and inviting. My only suggestion to the manager is to replace the old picnic tables as nobody want slivers on their rear. Beer is cold and the wine list is great. If you go on a weekend for music it is best to leave early as this place fills up fast. Overall quality place and fun to dine with friends.

We chose Fralo's due to its proximity to a rental house where we were vacationing. There are only a few indoor tables which did not accommodate our party of 7 plus a baby. The staff was very helpful in moving tables together for us and providing a chair with a back for my father who had back pain. (The outdoor seating is wooden picnic tables and benches--so if you have a boney posterior, take a cushion!) They were also careful to put us in a shady area because we had a baby in the party. Our server was very sweet and I could tell she was doing her best. The restaurant became busy shortly after our arrival, so that slowed the service slightly. My son has an allergy to milk and all dairy, so I inquired about the basic pasta with meatballs and was initially told it contained no dairy. However, upon receipt of the pasta, I noticed the color of the meatballs and had our server who "assumed" the meatballs were dairy free, check with the kitchen staff. As it turns out, the recipe had recently been changed and the meatballs did in fact have cheese in them. So, we had to re-order a new dish with no meatballs. I understand how it happened, since the server used to work in the kitchen--however, it is never safe to make assumptions with food allergies. The pizzas arrived in a fair amount of time and for thin crust pizza, were enjoyable. Not the best I have had, but not bad for the money and atmosphere. It was a Thursday evening and the band was a folksy, country trio who played a lot of original material and music I was unfamiliar with--but that being said, I am not a big country music fan, so maybe it was known to others. I would say the music was mellow and befitting the Texas charm of the restaurant. We did not order any alcoholic beverages, and I do not recall a menu for adult beverages, but it did appear that other patrons were carrying their own beer and wine in. Worth a call to check on if you are looking for a drink. Shortly after we had been seated, we were told that the credit card system was down and that we could still use cards, but it would have to be taken manually and later entered into the system. Not a bid deal because it was out of their control, but when traveling to a new place--would have preferred the system be up and running. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and decent pizza.

We arrived to Fralo's on a packed Friday night, preparing for a long wait. The hostess told us 30-45 minutes. No problem, grabbed a drink & sat at the bar inside. It wasn't a few minutes after we settled in that our table was ready. In my opinion, there is nothing better than sitting outside on a cool summer evening listening to live music. The fact that Fralo's is pet-friendly and that they serve really good pizza is just the icing on the cake. Our waiter warned us that the pizza may take a little while - 45 minutes - however, Fralo's provided the perfect atmosphere, I think we would have been just fine if it had taken even longer!

Very disappointed! Had gone to Fralo's multiple times about five years ago and considered it a treat. We then moved away. We returned to Fralo's recently for a birthday and were so disappointed. To start with there were 10 of us and there were only two larger tables. We proceeded to one of them when we were instructed we could not use them. When asked why I was told that it was slow and they were trying to keep everyone to one side. There was only one other group there at the time. The other tables were quite small and yes they did tightly seat 8 people on a square picnic table. The problem is that when the servers start bringing out large pizzas and drinks it is a juggling act. (I remembered this from the past with a smaller group of people). Finally we asked if we could just pull another table over and were told they were not allowed to. My husband persisted and the waitress said she would go ask. She did come back and my husband and son helped her slide a table over. The waitress herself was very nice and obviously doing as she was instructed. The food came quite promptly. One of the pizzas had a long hair in the melted cheese. The waitress immediately took it back and it was remade. The other pizza was to be cheese for small children with little to no sauce. Kids only ate crust because it had a good amount of sauce, we did not complain. The pizza was not the same. The meat one was very greasy, the pan was full of grease and crust was soggy. Not the same quality at all. Waitress was very accommodating until it started to get busy and she was spread way to thin!

If you would like to eat outside at picnic tables and have some great pizza, while in San Antonio this would be worth the drive. They had food that accommodated our Grandchildren's food allergies. Some may not care for the fact that pets are allowed in the outdoor dining area. We did not have a problem with that. All patrons with large dogs had them on leashes, they were better behaved than some peoples children.:) It was a bit warm on our visit over the 4th of July, but we all managed quite well. Personally , I hate the cold, so the San Antonio heat , in open dining was no problem.

Today was our first trip back in years. Our friends were some of the poor people who were served poop . We waited for 30 min for a take and bake. Then, discovered it was wrong. Super expensive. Last visit for us.

Try the spanako - shaved lamb with kalamata olives and feta.

Our favorite pizza spot in the S.A. greater area! Try the bruscetta and Virginia pizza! Both are amazing! Good for kids and easy access from I-10.

The food was excellent and the setting and service were very good. Very relaxed atmosphere and the music was enjoyable and not too loud. Overall, highly recommended.

We took a group of 10 people here on Valentines Day and received great service and incredible food. Our group ordered pizzas and pasta. Everybody was pleased with the pizzas (we all tried the unique pizzas that are uncommon at a generic pizza venue) and the beer choices were great as well. The outdoor seating was comfortable and the heaters were going all evening which kept the temperatures perfect for a February evening. Live music was a great addition (a little loud for a romantic Valentine's Day as most couples had to talk loudly to hear each other). The waiter was very funny and friendly and when he forgot one of our members orders he apologized that the wait would be another 10 minutes. We were all eating by this point so he didn't want to wait 10 minutes. The waiter recommended a chicken salad and although our group member was a little annoyed he said the salad was incredible and so no harm, no foul. The waiter comp'd the salad which was very nice. All in all a great place to eat in an easy to find area. The ambience is actually pretty nice given the location by busy roads.

Although I have eaten on the premises before and enjoyed my meal (my last sit-down visit was a couple of years ago), my review is based on the carryout pizza I had tonight. Fralos is not cheap but we were seeking pizza that was better quality than Papa Johns or Dominoes, so we called in an order for a marguerita pizza and sent our teenager to pick it up. The 16" pizzas I remembered used to actually be large, but the pizza we got tonight looked smaller - and not 16". I understand that the crust is hand formed, but this pizza was not exactly round either. (Looked like something I might make myself.) But worse yet, it also had hardly any ingredients on it. I get that a margherita pizza is somewhat lighter than other pizza types, but come on - this one had hardly any tomato or cheese - it was mostly crust and tomato sauce. All for $22. Very disappointing - I don't mind paying more for a better pizza, but I have no idea what I was paying for tonight. Fralos has been in business for quite a while and has a good reputation, but next time I want a carry out pizza, I will go for the $10 large two ingredient pizza at Papa John's.

We liked Fralo's pizza at first when they were very accommodating and even delivered to the near surrounding area. Their higher prices were not too bad to stomach (they were still under $20 then) when delivery was included. That soon disappeared as they became busier. I think the last straw for us was the advent of ordering a pizza that touted shrimp as the main topping. I had pictured nice medium sized, grilled or sauteed, garlicky, fresh gulf coast shrimp. What we got couldn't have been more distant from our expectations. The miniscule crustaceans on our pizza were no bigger than the end of your pinkie and most likely from a can with Korean writing. Tasteless? There is no antonym for a "superlative" to reflect the diminishment of this adjective, but this would deserve it if there were. Pitiful!! Nice atmosphere, family run place, outdoor dining . . . . not for us anymore with the quality of pizza and prices they now charge.

This is my second time eating at this pizza place and not much has improved. The food is so so and the prices are so high for what you actually get. The atmosphere is fun, live music at night. But the service has never been stellar and tonight we didnt get our change back when paying with cash.

Fralo's is a small, family owned pizza place (they have a full menu) located off of IH-10 towards Boerne, near the Scenic Loop Cafe. We go there for the margharita pizza. Takes a while to get your food because they are all made from absolute scratch, so be patient. I always ask for some extra garlic on mine. No alcohol because it sits next to an elementary school, but you can bring your own, and many people do. They have a wine rack with opened wine bottles in them with peoples' names on them. I take some cold beer with me. They put it in their fridge. I wish I could speak more about the rest of the menu, but the margharita is so good, we can't resist ordering it. Out of this world.

Love their pizza, but did not enjoy the outdoor seating. Probably the proximity to the road and highway that destroys the zen. But, the pizza is amazing. Service is fast and friendly so call ahead and order it to go.

traveling in san antonio, friends too me here. It was busy. great place to bring family. brought our own wine, order the sampler pizza and it was fantastic. we ordered 2 more pizzas after the first one. music was good. you get a chance to meet other people as tables are large.

We've eaten at Fralo's several times as well as taken advantage of their carry-out and delivery. We live about 3-4 miles away and ordered delivery on a Monday night. Granted, there's a lot of road construction in the area, we were given a 45 min - 1 hour delivery time frame. At one hour and 15 minutes, I called to check the status of our order and then of course, the doorbell rang. The pizza was good, but not very hot. We were disappointed.

Fralo’s has been a great place for gourmet pizza for years. My wife and I decided to enjoy it with a couple friends. Their crust is impressive, and the creativity they bring to their toppings - venison sausage! - is tops. There are better pizzas in San Antonio, but only one or two places. Service was quite attentive, too. Great choice.

Our group of 10 stopped in for some pizza and we were delighted to find that they offered Daiya cheese for the vegans in the group. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and great service! The outdoor area is charming and has wonderful heaters for the chilly nights (like ours!) We drove quite a bit from our hotel to this pizzeria but we would do it again in a heartbeat for their food. :)

We went to Fralo's tonight like we have done many times in the past. The only exception being that this time it was a Friday night instead of during the week. We walked in and about half the tables were occupied. So we found one we liked and sit down. About 10 minutes later a male waiter came up and informed us we could not sit there. First he suggested a table in the very back corner under the awning because "it is cooler there" but we declined. Next he took us to another table not too far from our current one. We did not like that table and asked for another table. We were told all the rest were reserved minus the patrons of course. No reserved signs were posted anywhere. Unhappy I told him we would leave and his response was "fine"! I then asked to speak to the owner. The male owner did appear and insisted we sit where we were told since they had a "system" which he tried to explain. However mistreating a customer is really hard to explain. Things between us escalated from there. Finally I told him we had been there many times before and always sit where we wanted to without a problem. I told him while we had been there many times we would never return. His response? "fine"! I have been to many restaurants over my lifetime including the last 20 years I worked traveling 100% of the time and have been to way too many restaurants. I have never been to one that insisted I sit where I was told. If another table was available more to my liking and it was not reserved, I have always been allowed to use it but NOT at Fralo's tonight. I would not recommend this restaurant any more to my family and friends. I was in the business of dealing with corporate customers and would never dream of treating a client in this manner. The owner needs a good course on customer relations.

Met some friends from out of town here. We sat at a long table outside near the live music. When the Spurs game came on, they had a HUGE screen to watch it on. Lots of pizza and pasta choices. This place is BYOB. Really enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere of this place- fun restaurant to bring people from out of town. Plus, no need to worry about the kids running around just a little since we were outside. There is also a big fire truck for kids to look at and ring the bell.

the pizza here is average wasnt impressive its a bit crowded i would consider more of a beer drinkers place with every type of beer known to man it seems only the regulars were noticed strangers dont fit has out door seating but guess if you want a beer its the place to go

Service was good based on the volume of customers. The servers were all very kind and helpful, and VERY busy. Not a bad thing at all. They seemed to work very well together, and we, as well as the customers around us, were well taken care of. The food was simply incredible! This ranks in the top 2 or 3 pizzas I have ever had, and I've had a lot. We started with the Bruschetta, which was excellent. We ordered a large pizza, half Nutty Chicken and half Classic. This is thin crust, so as long as you go in with that expectation, you will love it. There was a generous amount of cheese on the pizza, as well as just the right amount of ingredients. The crust was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere at Fralo's is sort of like sitting at a family meal with folks you haven't seen in a long time. There are a few tables inside where it's a little more quiet, and lots of picnic tables for outside seating. They have live music several times a week outside. In short, I really enjoyed the whole experience. If you like great pizza, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere, you'll like Fralo's.

Too bad the best pizza ever and Italian cuisine in the Leon Springs area has sadly closed!! I really miss this authentic Italian, delicious, but simple great family style restaurant! It was a kind of Italian "Mom & Pop's family owned restaurant in the HEB strip center, I believe., who featured very reasonable prices also. I realize everybody has different taste buds so I'm not slamming Fralo's Pizza, but there isn't much to choose from anymore, as far as great Italian food or pizza is concerned. Little Ceasar's Pizza in that same HEB strip center where this great Italian restaurant used to be, is not very good, but if you're feeding a bunch of kids who don't care how good the pizza is,then Little Ceasar's or CiCi's is ok! Fralo's is a cut of above Little Ceasar's but way TOO EXPENSIVE for the taste or the quality of their ingredients! They call themselves,"gourmet",but my husband and Ican make much better pizza than what Fralo's has to offer at home! better pizza at home!! Of course, our family heritage is a mixture of Sicilian & Spaniard. One thing we noticed when we went to Fralo's Pizza was that you could bring your own bottle-I guess that was their way of not obtaining a liquor license. But then you would probably have a lot of drunks on the premises, which could present other problems, especially on the weekends. Their outside eating area, which served as their patio(?) was out in the dirt in front of the restaurant-not much for ambience, or privacy ,not to mention the possibility of flies maybe in the summer!- certainly not very classy, I'd say. It doesn't seem to match their so-called image, as portraying themselves as the place to experience this "gourmet" pizza they claim to have! And some people also just prefer "simple" great food, and not all this fancy "foo-foo" trendy type of cuisine. Additionally, many people, including the wealthy everywhere, and not just in this area might want to save a little money sometimes. Just because you have money, doesn't mean that you "enjoy" wasting it or not get your money's worth! Everybody from all economic levels still appreciate a "good" value! So I feel that Fralo's Pizza,as well as many other restaurants, especially those that fall into the "small business" category, such as Fralo's Pizza, should recognize this fact if they want to remain in business anyway because it's hard to compete with the big chain type restaurants who have more money to back them up! From a positive aspect, however,we feel that Fralo's Pizza is considerably better than Naples Pizzeria and Ristorante and way better than Spinelli's Vistro in Boerne. The only two great Italian restaurants in the area have both closed-Angelo's Italian Restaurant in Leon Springs and the Grill Italiano in Boerne. Any of the Italian restaurants open now could learn from these two,and I hope they will come back-soon please!!!

1. Don’t charge me an up-charge if I bring my own cake! 2. Let people know that they have to pay additional charges if they bring a bottle of wine. 3. Get better at what you do, waiter skills, management skills and over all customer service! 4. Customer is king!! Remember that! Family’s and friends like to congregate enjoy Precious Time! Keep on rushing your customers and you will find it is not good business...

Met for happy hour. Seating tight for more than 8. Waiter not overly friendly but did his job. Pizza is tasty but pricey for being soooooo thin and droops when you dry to eat it. Happy Hour from 3-6 with $2 off appetizers and discount on beer with wine $1 off. Appetizers are plentiful. Nice if you want to bring your pet though as they are pet friendly!

Great place for pizza and wings! We sat outside, enjoyed the fire and listened to a local musician. Loved the ambience. The BBQ chicken and Traditional pizzas were excellent. Fresh ingredients. Thin crust. Great sauce. We had wings, calamari and the pigtails (cheese wrapped in serrano ham) for starters. The wings were awesome. Pigtails were fine but a little on the bland side. BYOB. Several guests brought coolers with their beer and wine. By the end of dinner, we were too full for dessert. Check out their website!

A waiter at another restaurant reccomended Fralo's. EXCELLENT! We could not have been happier. Have brought a number of groups out and never a complaint. The restaurant has no liquor license but encourages you to BYOB. Small corkage charge for wine and beer. Most seating is outside. Be prepared to wait during peak times.

Ok so this is no kids 5.99 pizza so please don't compare pricing because it's just not the same. The flavor, texture, smell, and combination of ingredients is simply amazing. I recommend the "Hottie" as this has been my personal best pizza experience ever. The traditional is fantastic too and finally the service and outdoor atmosphere top it all off. If most of the cheapskate negative reviews complaining about price were removed , I'm sure this place would rate much higher. Please click below if you found my review helpful.
Perfect place for great pizza
We absolutely love this pizza. The pear pizza is outstanding. Our family outings here are always fun and always perfect. The live music, excellent service, and fantastic food make this a great place for families, groups, couples.
