Many years ago I would go out of my way to grab a few kosher dogs . They used to have a casing that would snap as you bit into them . Now they are just average, like a Costco dog, but I could buy almost 4 Costco dogs and drinks for the same price. This was a disappointing visit. Service was very good and the lemonade is still excellent. The location is cool but the value doesn't deliver.

I'm from Saskatchewan Canada and that was the best hot dog I ever had in my life and it's affordable and local and convenient and quick. Highly recommend if your in downtown Seattle, also you can sit by the waterfront right behind the Frankfurter and look over Puget sound

This is a little hut along the pier walkway. They serve hot dogs and sausage, with condiments and a smile. Cookies and chips are available as well as soft drinks. The server was very friendly and quick and the hots were delicious! Mustard, ketchup, onions and relish are free but cheese will cost ya 50 cents....

The Frankfurts were nice but needed the option of grilled onions without peppers. They are only small for the price. Still, they were nice and worth trying.

I must say for what I paid I was expecting a lot more food. The Italian hot dog was spicy as promised but was smaller than the bun, not what I expected.

After landing from a delayed flight with a serious hangover accounting from over indulging in LA this place was my saviour. I have no idea if the buns or frankfurt were fresh. The girl behind the counter was nice and the bun soaked up the frozen daiquiris I chugged the night before in West Hollywood. I would recommend

The sign says the best in town. I thought I'd try one out. I ordered the traditional hot dog nothing special here. A long skinny all beef hot dog. They have a lot of options to try from and the price is fair.

If you are walking along the waterfront with an 11y/o who gets a hunger attack, this is the perfect place for him/her to get that quick fix. The hotdog was hot, fresh and dressed exactly the way our son liked it. Plus the service was friendly and fast...

They do have the best tasting hotdog roll around . Went there for a quick snack after an Argosy boat tour. The operator of the stand was so nice and helpful. Had an original with sauerkraut. Yummy. It doesn't get any better than eating a great sausage on a great roll watching the boats come in on a sunny day.

My wife and I call it this because we live across the ferry, and we will make a special, and expensive, trip to Seattle just get our hands on a delicious Frankfurter. They have many varieties of hot dog always available, and all the condiments. It's not fancy, it's just a hotdog, but one of the best you will have ever tasted. They have a website at thefrankfurter so you can check them out.

This place has been on the waterfront for years. I visited it again recently and it brought back so many memories. They serve up a consistently good frankfurter and you can put just about anything on it! Great place to get it, take it somewhere on the new waterfront area, sit down, have a bit, and watch the people and sights. Not a better way to spend a pleasant sunny spring afternoon in Seattle!

This is one of those stationary food vendors that operates out of a trailer. The menu was decent and the food was excellent. I had a Kielbasa and the sausage was cooked perfect, nice crisp snap to the casing, bun was very fresh, and I had fresh lemonade that was out of this world. For one of these cheap places, the food was a great value and perfect for enjoying on a nice sunny warm day by the waterfront.

I had two franks on a bun - the Traditional German and Italian Hot. Both were very good. Went down well with the freshly squeezed iced lemonade.

Stopped by here after a trip to the aquarium and everyone loved what they had. The bread was very fresh and the different franks were great and unique.

I had the kosher beef dog and my wife and kids had the cheese dog. My youngest daughter did not care for the cheese dog because she thought it didn't have any cheese in it and "it tasted weird." Mine had a nice, snappy skin and I had it loaded with deli mustard, dill relish, and onions. It was a tasty lunch and one of the better dogs I've had in awhile.

We were visiting Seattle prior to leaving on a cruise to Alaska was on a warm summer day and was in much need lunch. It’s definitely not the 'best' hotdogs. I feel like the price is a tad high but the spicy Italian hotdog was good. The strawberry lemonade was very refreshing

This is the first Seattle Style hot dog we have eaten. It was delicious. German sausage, Old Fashion, with cream cheese, grilled onions and peppers, sauerkraut, and mustard. You will need several napkins!

Variety of dogs from traditional beef/pork to veggie. Very good in-house fresh lemonade and thick fresh- baked cookies. Particularly liked ti hard roll/bun but thought the chili was only so-so. But it was a fun start to my Argosy Locks tour right next door.

Easy to pick out a delicious hotdog - not exactly a street cart, but a stand which has served the best franks for many, many years. Get it with relish if you like or onions and placed in a crusty roll.

This spot is amazing for great hot dogs. It was so good that we even had to try another one evenghough we were full already. Prices range from 3-5$. Also make sure to try the all beef kosher style hot dog! Apart from the hot dogs the fresh made lemonade was amazing. For 3$ you get a huge cup with whole lemons inside. Also the strawberry version is refreshing, but not as good as the original lemonade. Expect some queues... Great find, great value!

So happy this stabs is still here. It’s been many years but it is still awesome. Around $5.50-$7 for a dog but they are a Seattle original .

I used to live in Seattle and every time I visit (several times a year) Frankfurter is #1 on my "to visit" list. I love the cheese dog, lemonade and peanut butter cookie. If you are looking for a delicious hot dog .... this is the place!

Their lemonade hit the spot on a hot afternoon. They had fresh squeezed lemon (and frozen strawberries for the strawberry lemonade) to their sugar water. They offer 20 oz or 32 oz for $3.19 to $4.29. They are close to the ferry terminal.

I travel a lot and the dog's in copenhagen are overall my favorite, but this is my number one favorite dog and lemonade place , the old fashion dog with lemonade is my choice. you put on your own condiments and the bun they use is excellent - they sell their dogs by the pound to go but it wouldn't be the same without their excellent bun and dill relish. their potatoe salad is home made and also very good, i agree their chili i think is from a can - but it's been the sam for 30 years so i still get it a disclosure thing, they have always been in the local entertainment book for 2 for 1 combo's , so we locals get a reasonable price, at full price for tourists it's a bit spendy for a dog ($4.50)

Grabbed a quick dog before heading out for a Harbour Criuse, dang the bun was stale, and there was no mayonnaise. Normally I would of taken it back, but I was on a boat.

Amazingly delicious (though a bit pricey at over $7) Seattle-styled sausage dog. I got the Old Fashion, Seattle-Style. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the price for just 1 dog. You could easily have walked down to or catch the free waterfront shuttle to Pike's Place Market and gotten something more substantial for about the same price. Still, while in Seattle, I had to try the Seattle-styled dog.

The gentleman running the stand was so friendly and fun to talk to. He was talking with each customer as if they were regulars. The lemonade was unbelievable and they squeeze it right in front of you, so you know it's fresh. The hot dogs were great too!

Strawberry lemonade was great. Didn’t get anything else. A little on the expensive side. Service was fine. Line moves quickly.

For the Sausage lovers out there, this place is very good. Price is very affordable and they make fresh squeezed lemonade that is a must if you go there. Menu is really simple and the workers are very nice. The buns are a little dry so throw some extra condiments on it and you should be good.. I think if they would steam the buns a bit would fix this.. just a idea...

Kinda pricey, but it serves its purpose. Plus, I was in the mood for an all-American meal, and I needed it to be served fast. I tried the old classic one with fried onions and hot mustard on. Really good.

Average dogs and little more.

I was about to board a 3 hour tour on a boat and realized I hadn't eaten lunch. Providence and proximity led me to this hot dog stand on pier 55. Completely awesome cheddar dog with a nice snap.

After taking the midday harbor cruise, my wife and I wanted a quick snack and came across Frankfurter right near Pier 55. We had the kosher style hot dog which comes on a tasty roll and thoroughly enjoyed them. There are even a few tables by the side of the booth to sit if you choose to do so.
best dogs in town
Frankfurter is a hit with our family. Located next to Ye Old Curiosity Shoppe and near Argosy tours, this is one place you need to stop and sample. A few tables with beautiful views of the Sound, delicious hot dogs and lots of fixings for the dogs. We loved it!
