We visited Frankley Bradley’s on a Wednesday evening to hear a tribute to Eva Cassidy. We were greeted at the door by a helpful person who explained we could either eat upstairs where the performance would be or dine downstairs in the dining room before heading upstairs. We chose the latter. Our waiter was incredibly helpful in putting our order ahead of a large party to ensure we had enough time go enjoy our meal with enough time to make it upstairs. The food was very good as well. Root vegetable soup and autumn salad were delicious as were the South Philly pierogis. The event room upstairs was intimate but not crowded. The music was fantastic, and again, so intimate. Overall, great service, good food, fantastic music. Definitely worth a visit while in Philly.

My husband and I ate here on a Tuesday evening and felt that it was a welcome break from the Morton's and McCormick and Schmick's chains that we also visited on our 3 night get away to Philadelphia. The food and service were great and the atmosphere felt authentic to the area, although I understand this restaurant has only been there for about a year. The wine list was quite limited, to my recollection only one Chardonnay and one Cabernet Sauvignon bottle to choose from on a list of about 10 bottles but we did get a good bottle of wine. The lemon poppy seed cake desert was to die for. I would definitely go back again next time I'm in town.

I went with 6 others from work. Everything was good, I had the spicy corn soup with popcorn garnish and the pear and endive salad.

Jean ans I celebrated our 48th Wedding Aniv with dinner here before seeing Saturday Night Fever. Recommended by our son we enjoyed good food, great service and a great value too. Try the mushroom pierogies for an appetizer. Thet are out of this world. Both of our meals were a bit too greasy for our taste. My vegetable pasta of the day was right on the edge of too spicy. We do recommend you try this friendly great value.

Let the unusual décor be your guide to the little adventure that you will find on the menu. A great selection of brews and mixed drinks to get you in the mood. The waiter was very helpful with drink choices. Start with a wild choice of appetizers. We had small group and sampled a variety. Not your everyday Mac & Cheese. In this place, it's a nice, small meal. The Cubin Duck was really delicious once we got over our fear of ordering it. But really, the menu is great for an opportunity to try something different. The average night out to dinner, can turn into a little fun.

Randomly came here to try their happy hour and glad we did. There was a nice smell of food when we walked in. We were quickly greeted and offered menus when we sat at the bar. Cocktails and house wine were very good as was the happy hour food options. Had meatballs, steamed mussels and cheesesteak egg roll. All were very well prepared, good flavors and nice portions. Was not crowded at the time, but looks like a nice gathering place for drinks and bar food (can’t speak to the regular menu). Decor was interesting and eclectic. Something for everyone! Looks like they also have a small theater upstairs where they do “unique” performances. I think it’s a place we would visit again.

We just had apps and drinks before are show and they were delicious! We had FRANKY'S FRIES which have cheddar cheese curds, short ribs and scallions on them....OMG amazing! We also shared a flatbread and meatballs. We chose this place because of its location to the Academy of Music. The staff was wonderful and the drinks were really good as well. I would return the next time I see a show in Philly.

Maybe we just chose the wrong night to go here after seeing so many of our friends checking into this bar but wow. The crowd was so trashy and obnoxious; we figured it must either serve cheap drinks or have great service. Nope. Neither.

I was here with my friends who are older than the average patron. We still had a good time though; good menu selections, great service

Feel good comfort food in a great throwback setting filled with original and flea market art finds. Take special notice of the wonderfully atrocious lamps gracing the downstairs eating area. Our favorite part of the meal were our appetizers: good beet salad, excellent potato skins served with brisket, lightly fried brandade fritter - yum, and a hefty serving of sausage with lightly toasted bread. Macaroni and cheese is a meal in itself and was very satisfying. A mussel special that night also won high praise. The least satisfying course were the desserts, limited choices and two out of the three were very very sweet. Cocktails were excellent, try the Velvet Goldmine! Our server Nick, was wonderful - a charming & delightful gentleman who gave us lots of interesting background on the building and its decor. An iconic local spot reborn as a kitschy retro wonderland; a little hard to find but absolutely worth seeking out.

This place is very local work great food and craft drinks. The entire staff was friendly, the music is good and don’t leave without trying the mussels.

First, the decor is weird. You really can't tell what they're going for... a red interior with an odd oil lamp, pictures of Elvis, Pink Panther wall art, random stripper posters, etc. Somewhere I read that this is supposed to be "medieval" decor... I'm not quite sure how they came up with that term to describe it. Anyway, the bar is overcrowded and not well managed. Maybe just understaffed? I don't know. But I do know that I don't like to be stepped on, crammed into a tiny space by a bunch of seriously drunk people and in an area that felt like a sauna. Wouldn't go back...

The food is good and there's even cabaret entertainment upstairs most nights. If you're visiting Philly check it out.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat- I was restless and the night was growing late. Franky Bradley's seemd to have the lowest key menu. I went in, was seated immediately, ordered a glass of wine (it's a beer bar, but the wine was good), received a generous pour, and ordered the scallop special. Oh. my. Lord... A week later, I'm still thinking about the saffron-cream base with corn, potatoes, and shaved leeks. It was divine- and not what you'd expect from a burgers and beer joint. Recommended.

grabbed drinks and dinner at the downstairs bar. cocktail was nice, but pricey. wine and beer was a better deal. food was good, but nothing fancy. dance floor upstairs got busy around 11pm - lots of younger crowd. was a fun and random night had by all.

Franky Bradley's is a small neighborhood bar in the part of Center City that is Gay friendly. Prices for our drinks were reasonable and comparable to what you would expect to pay in center city which is about 7-8 dollars each. Hotels and fancy locations you would expect to spend more like 10 dollars and up per drink. The decor and atmosphere is definitely adult.

Love coming here when we are in Philly. Great service, reasonably priced and craft cocktails. Also love the décor - There is plenty to look at!

With the limited menu at this place, it's a good thing they do it right! We especially liked the halloumi (grilled Cyprus cheese) appetizer. The flank steak and the roasted chicken were done to near perfection. Gnocchi with brussels sprouts and squash puree was good as well. Service was attentive but dinner delivery a tad slow. The atmosphere is Very Very Bar, but we'd return for the food.

This bar/kitchen is a unique mix of friendly, funky, and funny staff, food, and decor. The food is reaching for different just enough to be approachable if you are brave enough to order. Get the specials, they are the real winners here in this retro-funky colorful and sometimes naughty-nice place. It's new-old school. Retro meets 2019. Worth a try.

Traveling from out of town. Place looked unique on the outside, but I’m so glad we went in. Greeted by friendly hostess and was seated right away. Waitress was wonderful! Fun, unique atmosphere with great music! Great food, great beer, excellent service! I would definitely come here again!

Our group went to the Christmas village at love park and then took a short walk to this restaurant. Our party of 9 was quickly seated (we had reservations) and the staff immediately began taking our drink orders. We had a very pleasant experience and great food! The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Our waiter was fantastic. I had the Chicken Wings, which were the best I have ever had. The Pot Dr Creme was delicious. The other diner had the Carrot ginger soup & mushroom perogies. Both were delicious. The lighting was quite dim & should be greater illuminated.

I enjoyed my dining experience at Franky Bradley's. The food was very creative and delicious! Nothing was run of the mill. Food: a duck Cuban (tasty), chilled corn soup (yum! especially the shrimp), my parent's shared the wings (no complaints). Atmosphere: I love a place that pushes the limit. Check out the pictures that people have posted -- very eclectic, very dark, lots of velvet. We were here on a Sunday evening, very quiet, practically empty. Service: Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He seemed to really enjoy working at Franky Bradley's. He even did a great job of talking up their other establishments in Philly. 4 stars instead of 5 because it takes lots to get a 5 from me. Minor ding -- it's very dark, took some time for the eyes to adjust.

Had one night in Philly and found this place with my boyfriend as we were desperately looking for a late-night dinner. After standing outside the restaurant debating whether to try it for about 15 minutes, we took the plunge. So glad we did. The interior is an old-school fantasy, the music is festive, and the food is well-above-average for a place with such a big bar. I had the delicious burger, the boyfriend had a delicious fish special, and we shared the latkes and beet salad. Happy with everything.

At first glance you might wonder if you really want to go in. But, it is well worth it. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was top notch. We sat in a booth that had a plaque stating that the booth was reserved for (former) Mayor Nutter. If it was (is) good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

This review is only for the decor, staff and the cocktails. I look forward to eating here at some point. But just haven't gotten around to it as yet. I'd say this is one of my favorite places to take out of town guests to. It is fun, really unique decor and all in all I'd say most of the staff is pretty friendly. The bartenders, maybe not so much. But not really unfriendly either. Just kind of - there. The mixed drinks are ok, but definitely pricey. When I pay $12.00 for a 3 oz glass of Sazerac that is just OK, I'm thinking I'm paying a bit too much. It was truly the smallest mixed drink I have ever been served. So, scratch FB's off my list of go to cocktail bars. When I visit, I'll stick to beer. That seemed like a much fairer market price.

Pirogies were amazing and Franky’s Burger!!! Omg drooled from the smells and tastes!!! Awesome mixed drinks as well!!! Going back for sure! Went to Burlesque Show after Dinner upstairs!! Awesome as well!!!

I'd make a trip back to Philly just to eat at this quirky, fun place. The Franky's fries, topped with fried cheese curds, braised short rib and gravy, are oh-so-good. We also had the roasted beet salad which was one of the best I've ever had. Our server was very attentive as well. This eatery is tucked away next to a car park down an alley, but it's worth looking for.

Although it's not that old, Franky Bradley's feels like it's always been part of the neighborhood. Dark and cool inside with some fun and funky decor and artwork hanging on the walls. They weren't too crowded when we arrived on the tail end of happy hour. The draft beer I ordered was fresh and cold. Had the duck Cuban that came with fries on the side. Very tasty - duck was moist, fontina cheese nicely melted. Only disappointment was the Philly pierogi which was just a tad dry. Staff incredibly nice and attentive. Love that they also have live music and what looks like a monthly drag show upstairs on the 2nd floor.

Every time I come back I will be eating and DRINKING at Franky Bradley's. Amazing staff amazing food and amazing fun. Not much more I can say.

This resturant/bar is wonderful. Great atmosphere. We visited for drinks and lunch and both were exceptional. The chicken wings on the menu are among the best we have ever had. Nick the bartender was exceptional. He went out of his way to ensure exceptional service. I have never had an Amaretto sour drink made with egg whites and it was amazing.

The bouncer assumed that I was under 21 just by looking at me. After I showed him my ID, he asked me many questions like in a police interrogation (where are you from? why are you in the US? ...) then refused entrance to me assuming my ID was fake. He needs to be sued.

Franky Bradley's is a fairly new restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. My brother asked to go there for his birthday so we tried it out. Their brandy/bourbon glazed chicken wings are awesome! And so was the apple turnover desert a la' mode. My brother and I didn't care for the loaded potatoes with beef brisket (too much meat). The atmosphere in the restaurant is dark and moody which was actually fun. There were lots of 70's themed paintings and photographs on the wall which was in direct contrast to the medieval themed furnishings. There's a huge bar right in the middle of the restaurant and there appears to be another dining area on the second floor. Word is they're expanding into the building next door so business must be booming.

We were very pleased to find this little gem. Good food - we sampled three appetizers for our dinner. Frankie's fries with cheese curds and shaved brisket topped with cheese sauce were to die for. Frankie's meatballs were very tasty as were the wings with spicy smoked bbq sauce. Local beers and a good atmosphere. We didn't stay for the show upstairs but that is also an option. Our waiter, Sasha was sweet and attentive. We loved it.

I was on a business trip and the hotel bartender recommended this place. the food was very good....the atmosphere was a bit dark.

I met 's bunch of friends at Franky Bradley's. The beer selection was good, if a bit unclear (the taps were unlabelled, & the menu didn't list everything available). And everyone enjoyed the food that they ordered. It's a bit out of the way - you're very unlikely to just happen open Franky Bradley's unless you're specifically looking for it. But, if you like good beer, served in a convivial atmosphere, with good food, you should make the effort.

Groovy atmosphere, great funky beat music. DJ mix up a little later in the evening was jammin. Offbeat but cool deco. I'll definitely go again next time I'm in town.

Stopped here on our first night in Philly, just looking for a place to eat. Inside has a very retro feel to it. Our waiter was ridiculously friendly, fast and never let our drinks go empty. The beer selection was very good and the food was delicious. This is a nice little place that I would stop in again.

Franky Bradley's is low key, funky Philadelphia at its best. My family of 14 + a one year old baby had a wonderful last minute get-together meal & we couldn't have chosen a more perfect place. The staff was accommodating as we arrived in dribs and drabs & their composure was commendable. We ate early 5-5:30 and two other large family groups also were seated nearby, highchairs available for all... Food is reasonably priced, large portions & fun gastropub flavors. You won't find anything subtle but there are great burgers, loaded fries, a nice grilled halloumi cheese with figs, beet salad for the vegetarians & hearty soups. With alcohol, tax and tip (added on for large groups) we spent about $45 per person and took quite a few things home. PS - Love the Velvet Goldmine cocktail!

We had two very nice dinner experiences here, so we decided to go back instead of trying something new. Huge mistake! While previously the bartender was super friendly and seemed happy to see us come back, this bartender acted like our presence was an imposition. Maybe it was our dinner choices, but the food was not as interesting nor as good as our other visits. I regret not trying something new, and we won't go back.
An amazing Groove
Franky Bradley's in Center City is as remarkable for it's decor and bar scene as it is for it's food. Walking into the restaurant transports you to nightspot that pays tribute to the Burlesque scene and all things 70's culture - particular the black exploitation era of film. Think Regio's Cafe in the Iconic 70's flick "Shaft"... yeah, that's the groove - what a groove! The artwork is outrageous. You can feat your eyes on a fantastic Bowie bust and an amazing painting of Actress Pamela Grier wearing a big fro and posing in a manner that accentuates her ample bust and sizzling HOT torso. And you can meet the artist, Scott who is a regular! The bar keeps have an outstanding array of cocktail specials waiting for you, and the food is excellent. I recently had the Buffalo Wings and Mussels appetizers. . The wings were baked with a tremendous bourbon sauce, and the mussels served in a mouthwatering white garlic sauce. The Shrimp over Polenta Dish with Marinara Sauce was amazing. I would also recommend the homemade Gnocchi; interestingly served with smoked corn spinach and asparagus.
