Thank the universe for German bakeries. Especially this one! It's quaint, it's cute, and it's got killer food. I love how it's tucked away too from any main streets. A true hidden gem.

AUTHENTIC German Pretzels!! Need I say more? Absolutely WUNDERBAR! Actually all the Baked Goods were delicious! Hope Fressen continues to add MORE German baked goods---like Bienenstich. I also hope that Fressen will supply more bars/restaurants with the AUTHENTIC German Pretzels. Please open a German bakery in Seattle--we desperately need one!

Good food. I usually get the Breakfast sandwich which is egg, bacon, avocado, on a German bun. The pastries here are good too. The sandwiches are big on delicious German bread. They have real german potato salad too! This is not a fancy place just a small quaint place to get some good food.

This bakery looks like it was plucked off a Munich side street and placed conveniently in NE PDX. Toothsome matcha latte, pretzel breakfast sandwich with superb elusive jammy egg, kind and helpful staff. Got a jogger to take home, splendid experience

Amazing delicious food and huge soft pretzels to enjoy with our FestBier, German potato salad and bratwurst and more to satisfy our hunger.

Enjoyed a breakfast sandwich here while in Portland - the bread especially was amazing but it was all delicious. A nice small place that I probably would not have found without knowing someone who lived locally.

My husband and I were staying in an AirBnB in this neighborhood and omg! Their breakfast sandwiches are soooo good! Also their baked goods are incredible. Do not sleep on their croissant or their bee sting.

While visiting Portland I had breakfast here with my sister and her husband. It's a simple cafe, a little off the beaten path, apparently it was originally a bakery and now is a cafe as well. The coffee was excellent, the service, friendly, and the space very comfortable. I had the egg sandwich, with bacon and cheese on a fresh kaiser roll, a bargain at $5. We also shared a Bavarian croissant, buttery but with the crust and salt of a soft pretzel - a revelation! I bought some to take home to California with me. This place is worth a drive for breakfast, lunch or a snack.
Nice out the way bakery ... not well known in Portland
Although it was poorly heated the January afternoon we went (we froze), the overall atmosphere was quite nice. Non-pretentious. Basic, but not worn and tired. The lunch quiche that my friend ordered (with salad greens) was delicious, and the "bee sting" that I ordered was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and personable. There were a good many things there I would like to try! I don't know how often I would be in the area, but this bakery gave me good reason to make the journey east.
