Recently I asked some local friends to meet up on a Monday for Happy Hour at Frolik. There were less than 20 people in the entire place, 2 bartenders and at least 4 servers. Yet, it took over 25 minutes for our first round of drinks to be served. Seriously? I watched the bartenders talk to each other and then nonchalantly talk about who would make our drinks. Totally unacceptable. I would have spent quite a bit and happen to tip well when I am impressed. This, was just not one of those experiences. It's unfortunate because I could have come back multiple times in a week-long business trip and chose elsewhere based on this experience.

The rooftop area offers a great view of the surrounding area. We had intended to have dinner here, but service was so slow that we decided to just have drinks and gourmet popcorn.

The Frolic Kitchen at Hotel Motif exudes charm and fun with a view. The food is tasty and plentiful and the crowd is exuberant and fun. Whether it is an exotic drink or a well prepared dinner or breakfast Frolic fit the bill. There were also benefits from staying at the hotel.

Unfortunately we had breakfast here one morning during our 3 night stay at the hotel. The food was ridiculously overpriced ($60.00) for its quality (poor) and simplicity. How can one mess up avocado toast, and eggs, bacon, and potatoes with toast? The service was mediocre at best and a mandatory 20% tip is added to your bill... perhaps because they are aware of how bad the service is and no one in their right mind would leave a tip. Avoid this place altogether... there are plenty of better places with far better service that are worth your business and don't force a tip for bad service. We had free dirk vouchers from the hotel for this place and passed on them... save yourself some disappointment...

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times now, while visiting Seattle, and I love coming to Frolik for both lunch and dinner. The food is great and the location/outdoor patio is perfection. I have met a few members of the staff (everyone is so friendly) but Myles went above and beyond! Not only did he remember me from my last visit but he even remembered my usual drink!! Very impressive since it had been a couple months since my last appearance. If you are looking for some good food and fun atmosphere then definitely make sure to stop by this place.

Hosted a large event here. Paid a hefty fee for an "exclusive" outdoor space. It was a hot day and our food was left out in the direct sun, and wasn't even put on ice so a lot of it was thrown away. We really loved our waiter, but there was a massive miscommunication about the bill. Ridiculously expensive drinks and food, and bad communication from corporate and the wait staff. You're paying through the nose for the outdoor patio atmosphere, because everything else about this place is a total ripoff.

Had the chicken fried steak and eggs with the chorizo gravy and it was very good. My server, Kiersten, was very attentive to my breakfast service. Hats off to Sous Chef Balaoro for a well prepared, well plated and tasty breakfast! I will recommend Frolik to all my friends.

Menu is very limited. Had kale salad with chicken really good! Daughter had frolic burger she enjoyed it. Down side waiter brought us menus never asked if we wanted drinks, called him back to order them. 40 minutes from ordering to table and its 3pm so not busy. Had to ask for more drinks. Have been waiting to see our waiter walk out on the patio to get our bill š part that makes me sad super nice guy! 3 fountain drinks, salad, burger, order of salt and pepper fries and tip $50.

Great roof top patio. Ping pong and shuffle board. Great frie staff. Cocktails disappointing though.

We had breakfast at Frolic one morning. Nice place but we should have sat on the gorgeous patio. Good selection, tasty but a little pricey. Next time we will go for drinks on the patio.

Frolik was amazing! Great view, awesome apps, and amazing service! Ally, our server was very friendly! Definitely coming back! Outdoor seating was beautiful with fires to help keep warm, the manager Jake was attentive and greeting all guests. A great place to visit!

We stopped here for a cocktail and small bite to eat in the afternoon. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the outdoor deck. We shared a scrumptious Uli's sausage and Manchego fondue with warm naan bread. It was sooooo good! I will definitely return on a future trip.

Four friends out for drinks and dinner - beer selection was good, and $6 for a pint is reasonable, especially given the 'trendy' atmosphere. Bar staff was pleasant and helpful, as was our waitress. We ordered a Mac&Cheese appetizer, which for $12 should have been a LOT more generous... it's macaroni for heaven's sake! Chicken wing sliders came in 3's - OK, but not fabulous, and we ended up trying to split them up evenly... my friend enjoyed his salmon, but the two of us who ordered the scallops were disappointed - looked like a reasonable amount of food for the price,($27), but 3 of the 'scallops' turned out to be small white onions, but were cooked in such a way as to look like the seafood. Yikes. Sneaking one in there might have been OK, but three? Considering it came without any additional sides, it seemed VERY over-priced. Yes, it's located within the downtown area, inside a hotel, (thankfully we got a 10% discount) but I can't say I found the whole experience satisfying. Drink there, but find somewhere else to enjoy a meal. Oh, and even if you're a hotel guest, expect to pay $9/hr to park! ugh.

The view is ok. The bartenders were nice, the music was ok, the drinks reasonable, the crowd was a nice mix of casual, suits, young and mid young, all and all, an ok place to go from out of town. We first tried on a Fri night, and there was a line, then went another night, and couldn't figure out why there was a line...just sayin.

Stopped in for a quick drink while holiday shopping....Jennette was wonderful!!! Very attentive and the martinis were incredible!!!! We will definitely return!!!! Happy Christmas!!!

Frolik attracts a multi-ethnic trendy crowd on Friday nights, with many beautiful people drinking $13 cocktails. Don't tip your bartender here -- a 20% service charge is already included in the bill and the bar is slow so this was hardly deserved. Plenty of space on the outdoor patio and not much of a view but you are surrounded by tall buildings feel like you're in a city. Cocktails were tasty and the DJ kept the atmosphere buzzing. Easy $7 garage parking nearby. Some of the usual homeless and Seattle downtown sketchiness at night, but this is a well-trafficked and well-lit area so you shouldn't have any safety issues.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a drink after walking around all day. I can't speak to the food, but we had a good glass of wine and it was such a cute rooftop bar! You have to walk through the hotel lobby and take the elevator up and once you get up there you forget you're even in a hotel. The waitress was so sweet and accommodating. She even gave us recommendations for other places to try while in the area!

The drinks are very good and the atmosphere on the patio is wonderful. The 3 star is due to the food. I only ate one meal here during my stay at the hotel and was disappointed. I had a burger, fries and cinnamon popcorn. The burger was overcooked for medium well and dry. The bun was hard (I don't think it was stale, I think it was the type of bread). The fries were good. The popcorn did not seem fresh and service was slow even though they weren't busy. So while I can't necessarily recommend it for food, I highly recommend it for drinks on the patio. Show up by 7 pm if it's a weekend night.

I vehemently disagree with your policy of automatically charging a 20% service fee at your Frolic restaurant. I do not subscribe to the notion that your customers should automatically make up the difference of what you pay your employees and the new minimum wage. A tip should be voluntary and discretionary from the customer. I won't me back.

The food was very good but the music was too loud for our business lunch to be super productive. Recommend the San Diego style tacos.

The Fried chicken was absolutely fantastic! Staff can seem a little busy doing other things but it wasnt really in issue. Decided to spend the night in but still got a fantastic meal within the hotel.

Katie took care of all of our needs and made sure we were satisfied. Commendable work. She made out experience memorable and one we won't forget anytime soon.

We went to Frolik for a private rooftop party. The drinks were good and staff very friendly. I did not eat there so I can't comment on the food. The bar is well stocked and it's just a very trendy place to go for a drink.

This is a great relaxing space for food and/or cocktails in downtown Seattle. Itās in the Motif hotel. Just take the elevator up a few floors and youāre there. Both the inside and outside dĆ©cor is tops for trendiness, so the vibe is way cool. One word about outside seating: for an hour or two prior to sundown the western sun will be beaming right in your face, so position yourself appropriately. Overcast sky = no worries. I went in by myself to grab and early dinner and drink on a weekend. I didnāt order much and I didnāt stay long. It was not busy because I was there a sufficient time before the dinner rush. The weather was clear but it was super windy so I stayed inside. The food and drinks I ordered were great, and my server was super easy-going. Food/drink pricing seemed about average: in the middle between thrifty and budget busting. No complaints at all. Next time I will go at night so I can experience the dark-hours ambiance ⦠seems like it would be very inviting. Recommended.

Just popped in for a couple of lunchtime Sunday drinks. Staff behaved as if customers were a real chore, lounging at the bar etc. The automatic 20% service charge definitely stung a bit.. Was planning on dinner there later but definitely won't go back

My friend and I shared a few of the small plates and they were all fantastic and a great value for the price. The outside rooftop seating is really great too. The only thing I didn't like was they had the music outdoors WAY too loud when we got there and it sounded like the speaker was blown. Was pretty unpleasant. But it got better later in the evening.

My girlfriend and I arrived in Seattle on a Saturday night this month (May 2015) and were staying at the Motif Hotel. We travelled from Canada and had a great experience checking in. Since we were staying at the Motif, we thought eating at Frolik would be a great idea and we were terribly mistaken. The lady who greeted us at the entrance of the restaurant was cold and rude, not realizing we weren't there just for drinks and we wanted to sit down for a meal. After finding our own seats and hearing several times "I'm not your server" from multiple people, we were finally greeted by a waiter after 20 minutes. It took him another 20 minutes to bring our drinks after that, which was incredibly frustrating. After we both put in our dinner orders of the Duck Confit tacos and the Agnolotti, the server came back to tell us 10 minutes later that the kitchen had run out of both items! We ended up ordering the Gnocchi and Pork Belly. They were both good, albeit small portions for an expensive amount. We were still very hungry by the end of the meal so we decided to go down the street to The Yard for tacos and were much more satisfied after that. The service here was just terrible. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. Looks like a fun place for drinks though.

Went on a weekday evening for a couple of drinks on the rooftop patio. The venue was really nice. It was not busy at all, and appeared to be plenty of staff working, but we still waited a while for someone to serve us. There was a dirty glass on the table already, which the waiter proceeded to pour water in for me (no thanks!). We had our drinks, no issue with them. He then brought us our check - no asking if we wanted anything else, so felt in welcome and decided to leave. To top it off, they already automatically add a 20% service charge which was annoying. I'm happy to pay and tip for service, but feel annoyed being automatically charged when service was poor. If it's a nice day and you want a drink on a roof (5th floor by the way) then it's OK, but don't expect timely or good service. I won't be returning or recommending.

As a new visitor to Seattle I found so many people to be very friendly and helpful; unfortunately, the staff at this place was not friendly - perhaps it there were not well staffed for a late Friday afternoon. I had an appetizer that tasty, yet pricey. Decided to try different restaurant for dinner.

It is located in the downtown area. It is large and part of a hotel. We had the good food and drinks. For a place like this it wasn't pricey. The service was very good. They had a good bartenders. The place is just awesome.

The drinks were great and the view was amazing! Appetizers we're so so. Go to elephant & castle downstairs for food then have craft cocktails on the patio upstairs. Myles treated us well and gave us lots of night life recommendations. Bartenders made great drinks. Fun for an evening out.

We were lucky to have caught great weather while visiting Seattle so this place was busy! We were able to get a table outside right away since we showed up right before the end of the business day. Service was courteous and attentive and everything tasted great. Cute spot for a date or a girls meet up.

Well, the food was ok. My french toast was burnt but my husband had the salmon benedict and it was delicious. The issue here was service. It took 20 minutes to get a coffee. The 20% service charge here is evident in the servers. We arrived at 1:05 with no indication that our ābottomless mimosaā would end at 2. No warning, no last call. Jacoby saved the day with another round given our unsatisfied state. He is the reason itās a 2 instead of a 1. We still wonāt be back.

Visited for a birthday party and the location is great as I have been here many times.... Walked out for a few minutes and was asked for ID to come back into a private party, not a big deal really....But when the doorman went to stamp my wrist I stated I did not want a stamp... His reply "the elevator is that way"....wow... I asked if he was seriously and he said yes...Then the even bigger problem happened....I asked for the hotel manager (since it is in the Motif) and guess what....he said he was the manager....Now I'm in a suit and did not want some stamp on my wrist but as the manager he said I had too.... Crazy... Ended up he was actually lying as he handed me a paper pass of sorts to get in and out..... All the years I have been in Seattle, this takes the cake.... Unbelievable that this guy is the manager and obviously has no idea who his clientele is or is not... I certainly will recommend that any client of mine or my employer immediately ceases staying here or any affiliated properties....

Missed my flight back home. Hotel Motif found me a room ans went to Frolik for brunch. Great place. Ryan C is an awesome bartender!

breakfast was good and hot. prepared perfectly. The service was fast and very friendly. Restaraunt was clean.

Beautiful space indoors and outside. Good drinks and food as well. Close to Pike Market and other attractions

We stayed 5days and because of the great service we ate the most of the time. This staff is highly professional and did an excellent job making you tell welcome. The food was high quality and the variety was great. Not a single way we're we disappointed with the service in any way. We even got a lesson in the tasting of scotch whiskey that will help us in the future.

Breakfast was tasty and service excellent. Experience was a bit sour due the fact that Motif hotel room did not include breakfast with hefty 240$ price tag. I ate the classic scrambled eggs with beacon and wheat bread, which was missing cheese for the breads. My colleague praised the salmon donut.

We came out to Seattle praying something would be open during the pandemic and Froliks was one of the few. They sure did not disappoint though. Great food, music, atmosphere and service. We had the burgers... amazing! Can't beat the view if you like a big city at night.

Miles made our experience an unforgettable evening! Would come back again in the future. We almost ordered all the appetizers on the menu.

We wanted a 7 pm reservation but were told (via concierge at other hotel - Thompson) it was filled and we had to come at 6. So we did. We asked hostess for outdoors but she said it was not reservable. So we ate inside. Servers were very nice. The rose wine was fine but room temp. Food was ok but we didnāt see the outdoor menu (at the end of the separate wine list) nor was it pointed out, which would have been a better fit for the early dinner. When we left well after 7 the dining room was nearly totally empty, so we clearly could have come later.

We came here for bottomless mimosas and had lunch. The food was okay, I had a salad that used cabbage instead of lettuce which was interesting. Our server Bobby was incredible. Great place to have a drink and play yard games.

This was a charming experience and the best part of our stay. We were tired and almost didn't check it out and I am sure glad we did. This was a great addition to the hotel and our drinks were fantastic!

I have visited Frolik each of my last 4 trips to Seattle (staying at the hotel where located, Red Lion and now Motif, twice). Excellent small plates and drinks (though I preferred the menu when was Red Lion Hotel). The biggest attraction is sitting outdoors enjoying the fabulous summer weather (savoring the escape from Houston heat and humidity) and the ambiance 5 floors above street level. Serve food late.

It was far to expensive for what was delivered. The service was extremly slow and not really friendly. The food wasn't as good as expected. Also the music was too loud.

This has such a nice setting, looking out onto the harbor. The food was good, and our server was okay.

Our group of 8 managed to get a great seat on a beautiful afternoon in Seattle. The seating was comfortable, the waitress was a lot of fun, and the drinks were delicious. I would definitely go back...perhaps for meals next time!

Our party of 3 all ordered omelets. They were served as ordered, with roasted potatoes that included a nice variety (including, .e.g., purple). The service was good, and the coffee flowed. One quibble I have is the table prep - we had to swipe a set of silverware from the neighboring table, plus there were a few crumbs remaining from the previous party, which I brushed away. I watched the server clear another table near us, and saw that he didn't really wipe it down - or if he did he missed about half of it, as there were a bunch of crumbs left on that one as well. For the price, I would expect spic'n'span tables.

Outdoor patio bar at Motif hotel downtown Seattle. Good happy hour drinks and appetizers. We had the hummus and warm olives. There is a long bar height table with a gas fireplace style heater that runs down the centre of the table for about 20 feet. It gave off a lot of warmth on a coolish windy afternoon, which was great. Also has a shuffleboard and ping pong table. A lively, modern place. Good service.

This roof top is in the "Motif" hotel, it has a large outdoor space and dinning room. We went to enjoy the happy hour specials, we had the chicken sandwich, avocado toast and chips, all of which where delicious. Looking forward to going again.

A great place to grab a drink, watch the harbour and be part of the buzz on the 5th floor. I asked two different people to suggest a rooftop bar in the downtown area and they both without hesitation suggested Frolik. The view is spectacular, panoramic with view in three directions, nice vibe, cool waiters and good drinks.

The rooftop bar is really lovely, but we were ignored for a good 15-20 minutes before anyone came to take our drinks order. The drinks were nice, but then we were promptly brought the bill with no offer of a second round of drinks. Despite the patio being less than a third full and the main bar / restaurant being empty I assume they don't need the business?? Automatically adding 20% service charge to the bill leaves a bad taste too - maybe that's why they don't feel the need to provide friendly service....left feeling really disappointed!

Frolic is fun, unpretentious, and convivial. It's also loud in the evenings and the crowd is barely out of college (they come to drink mostly). But the food is surprisingly good and the portions are right-sized. It's much quieter at lunch if you aren't into a club atmosphere. The outdoor terrace (fifth floor, so no traffic noise or fumes, just sunset over the water) is great on a summer evening.. I've eaten here several times and haven't had a bad meal yet.

The breakfast wasn't bad at all, but $14 for a two-egg breakfast? C'mon. The cafeteria-like ambience doesn't justify it. Then, there's the 20% service charge on a check that asks if one wants to leave an "additional tip." The server was efficient, helpful, and friendly.

This was a horrible experience for myself and a friend of mine. We were hoping to have a nice Friday girls' night, and had made a reservation through OpenTable at Frolik for happy hour before our movie. We were exactly on time for our reservation, my friend arrived even a few minutes early. When she approached the hostess, she was told that their "reservation system was broken" and that our reservation could not be honored, but we could "wait in line" (mind you, the line went out the door because it was BEAUTIFUL outside - hence why we made a reservation!!). We presented our reservation confirmation email and still got denied and told to "walk around to find an open spot or wait in line." The hostess was so RUDE to us and not helpful at all. I have never been treated so horribly at a restaurant. The least she could have done was put us to the front of the line since we did indeed have a reservation and proof of one - how is it our fault that their system shut down? I've worked in restaurants and catering my entire life and have never seen such terrible customer service and rudeness from a restaurant. 100% will never be going there again - shame. The past times I've been to Frolik the drinks were poorly mixed, mediocre at best. Service has always been TERRIBLE. Food is good and on a nice day (when you're actually taken care of and not turned away) the location is beautiful. IMO it's just not worth it, at all.

We only stopped for drinks, but I wanted to check out the happy hour menu. It was pathetic, but the outdoor space seemed like it would have been fun if it hadn't been so packed with yuppies playing shuffleboard. The drinks were as over priced as expected and the decor was pretty trendy 10 years ago. The service was fantastic and I'd try going back to try playing shuffleboard some time, but this place is not on my top lists.

Met several friends here recently for drinks and appetizers on a beautifully sunny Seattle afternoon. The location is what makes the space: a fifth floor rooftop with views of Elliott Bay. The drinks, food and service were all perfectly fine and the prices were fair if a bit on the high end. Seattleites need all the vitamin D they can get, and this is a wonderfully sunny spot to soak up some rays while sipping a cold one.

Food outstanding (grilled giant Pacific octopus for one, amazing), the blue-lit bar is gorgeous, and the outdoor deck is one of city's hotspots, biggest in Seattle and voted one of top three in country by USA today. First-rate service, classic and unique array of cocktails.

Wow! What a place! I visited last night for the first time and was blown away by all aspects of the restaurant. You start by entering through the lobby of a chic hotel and hop on an elevator and ride up to the 5th floor. When the doors open you walk out to a well decorated hallway leading up to Frolik! Let the fun begin! Inside there is a beautiful bar accompanied by a cocktail lobby decorated with beautiful people and decor! I sat at the bar for a few minutes sipping their Bliss cocktail (whiskey makes me frisky!) waiting for my boyfriend to get off work. The atmosphere made me feel like I was at home with family and out at the poshest bar in town at the same time! Once my bf arrived we were quickly seated at one of their super comfortable tables and had a fabulous dinner. Our waitress, Chelsea, may have been the best part of the evening. She was so fun and spunky, and just full of life. She knew the menu front to back and helped us make excellent decisions based on our tastes! We shared the octopus, the duck tacos, and the squid spaghetti. Dinner was absolutely fabulous, and the service was even better. After we finished our meal Chelsea invited us to sit outside by one of the fires and have an after dinner cocktail. Talk about romantic! We enjoyed another round of their tasty Bliss cocktails under the beautiful Seattle moonlight and everything was right in the world. We will definitely be back!

The food was fresh and fun, the drinks tasty, and the staff helpful and attentive. I often came in late and they never blinked when I asked to get food even when the kitchen was about to close which is great when you are there on business and really have the trip built around your work, not the restaurant hours.

Had a reservation for over a week for a busy Saturday night at Frolik. They just called to cancel our reservation because someone else has now booked the entire restaurant. So I guess we don't matter? Will never go here.

We stayed at the Motif and loved our time at Frolik. The rooftop was great however my favorite Part of our visit was the Lemon Rosemary tart. Iāve not had anything like it and had it twice in 3 nights. We will come back again when we return to Seattle.

We loved the restaurant and bar. We visited several times during our stay at Motif. Frolic describes the feeling of the place. It is fun, relaxing and oh so convenient....! The menu is different and eclectic, and very good. We enjoyed experimenting. Chelsea and Sawyer were fabulous and very patient with a couple of "old people". I am taking Sawyer's recipe to Alaska and spreading his name all over. And Chelsea is astute and remembers things about people she meets, which is commendable. And it's more than a lot of servers do. She's a happy and amazing person. Ask for her if you show up...

Our favorite breakfast downtown. Clean and comfortable and wonderful friendly service. Amazing food.

Loved the fireplace and the ambiance. The service was so bad we had to track down our server for our drinks. Food arrived 45 minutes after ordering and was a paltry portion. The menu indicated sharing portion size but was simply not. The price was right but needed to be higher so you could get at decent portion. This could be a great place but they need to figure out the service and food.

We came here for lunch before an afternoon theater event. We both had the avocado toast and a glass of wine. The entre was very good and the wine pour was generous though on the expensive side. Our waiter was professional and made us feel welcome.

We stayed at the Motif and dined at Frolik. The food was very good but the staff made the environment even better. Our server was very helpful and told us about must see attractions.

Hats off to the chef - the Dungeness Crab Poach was the most gourmet, and beautifully prepared breakfast dish I've ever had. The atmosphere is very modern and chic and our waiter was great.

My stay at the Motif was fantastic. The issue was with the restaurant, Frolik. My hubby got sick and remained in the hotel room most of the day so I went the restaurant alone, around 2:00pm. The place was almost empty and I chose to sit outside. My waitress brought a menu and my drink in timely fashion. After she placed my food on the table, she disappeared. I finished my food, drank both my drink and glass of water, still no waitress. At 3:30pm, I decided I had waited long enough. I went into the restaurant and asked the first waiter I saw if he could get me my bill. He asked where I had been sitting, I indicated the table. He then said āYou need a menuā? I explained I had finished and needed to pay. My waitress then appeared from a back room and said no problem. She gave me the bill and explained I saved 10% since I was staying at the hotel. She never once said she was sorry that I had to wait so long for the bill or explain why she never came back to the table. There are so many great restaurants in Seattle. Frolik is NOT one of them.

Yesterday I stopped at Frolick me as the weather was simply magnificent and I love their roof top deck. Imagine my surprise when I learned that the entire patio deck had been reserved for a private party and service was only available inside. SInce I was there decided to stay and sure am glad I did! My bartender, Danielle was 'over-the -top' good. Not only did she know exactly how to prepare my martini, she recommended some oysters that were spectacular. My hat is off to Danielle and the entire team at Frolick. I'll be back!

We stayed at Motiff its parent hotel. Generally hotel restaurants are ok ab best. Frolik draws a large professional growd for happy hour. There is huge outdoor deck on the 5th floor with great views of the water, fire pits and games and some live music. They have some great signature drinks and small plates. We had dinner one night and breakfast 2 mornings. All the food was well prepared with interesting ingrediants.

Come for a quick drink with friends, Chris made our cocktails, they were perfectly mixed and delicious. We had the Campfire and the Fall Affair, both delicious, spirit forward, hand crafted cocktails.

Happy Hour was hardly worth it. Drinks were good but a $10 Manhattan for happy hour as one of their listed drinks. Also tried the devils egg 3 ways...we are talking 1.5 eggs for $4. Great rooftop view of the city but a bit overpriced for what it is.

even though it actually had a section of the menu for "sweats" like candy. It took 10 minutes just to get menus and a water, and the place was virtually empty when we got there. The workers there seemed very friendly but there did not seem to be enough on hand, for the size of this restaurant. We were very disappointed with Menue, and ended up going downstairs, under the MOTIF hotel, to go to the Elephant and Castle Bar and Grill, which we loved. See my revue on that one.

Sit on the "roof top" under the umbrellas and nosh on good food and drinks. Great place for Happy Hour to experience sunset on the Seattle skyline. It does get pretty busy so you might want to get there early for Happy Hour during the summer. Since it is in downtown Seattle so be prepared to pay for parking

Delicious, but insanely overpriced flatbreads and drinks. We shared a flatbread (it was late, nobody was particularly hungry, we basically wanted a drink and a spot to chat) and had a cocktail each, and it was $71. Again, food and cocktails was good, and service quick and efficient, but you can enjoy yourself more for less at other places.

This review is for happy hour cocktails and appetizers at Frolic. I get it, this place has a nice rooftop deck and that's rare in Seattle. I also get it, there is open seating and service can be hit or miss depending on the crows. On the positive side, the food actually came out relatively quickly, and while expensive, was pretty good, the kitchen staff is on target. The mixed drinks however are criminal. I had half a dozen mixed drinks without so much as a hint of intoxication. One to two drinks are usually enough for me. Because this was on a corporate tab, I enjoyed the "water" for free, but I'm pretty disappointed that this sort of ripoff exists. A note to anyone paying for drinks, either get a beer, or expect to just get flavored water.

We arrived very late ( around 10pm) and asked for outside seating they said they had none but there was many tables open. The food though was very good. We had breakfast the next morning and it was good as well. Expensive for what we got but the fresh fruit bowl was to die for. Some of the best fruit Iāve had in awhile

The happy hour had great deals and I enjoyed the rooftop on more than one occasion during my stay at Motif Hotel! They were able to enclose the rooftop to keep warm and dry while still enjoying views in cold, rainy weather. I'm sure the experience is even better in the Summer!

Expensive for the food that you get but the outdoor seating is very cool and worth a visit. The fries are great! We stayed at this hotel so we ate here a few times. Breakfast was average.

Frolik is in the same building as the Motif hotel. Perhaps that is why the service is more hotel-like than attentive restaurant service. Terrace is really nice. On the expensive side even with Seattle scale.

ATTENTION ALL BLACK TRAVELERS: First and foremost, I really hesitated about writing this review, but I think I should alert my black travelers. I am not one to make everything about race but somethings are very obvious and can't be dismissed. ------------- I am an African American woman who was very excited to travel to Seattle for the first time with my friend, who is an African American male. We were ready to experience the culture, the food, and anything else that Seattle had to offer. Regarding our hotel accommodations, we decided to stay at the Motif. Upon checking in, we were greeted and welcomed warmly by Malcolm. He suggested different places where we should eat, including the hotels very own restaurant, The Frolik Kitchen. Before I go any further, I'd like to say that the reason why we decided to stay at the Motif was because of the ambiance and the vibe of the restaurant (according to the reviews and pictures). Unfortunately, our experience at the Motif was way below average - especially how were treated at the restaurant. On September 20th, we decided to eat at the Frolic Kitchen because we were tired from exploring and didn't want to go too far. While my friend went to the restroom, I walked into the restaurant to be seated. As I waited for someone to assist, I noticed that some of the staff gave me eye contact but did not approach me. After about 5 minutes of waiting, the host came up to me to say that they were at capacity and they were not allowing more people to be seated. I was surprised by this because there were not alot of people in the restaurant at 7:30 PM. Normally, if a restaurant is at capacity, and they are not about to close, your name goes on a waiting list and you are notified once a table is available. This option was not offered to us even though the restaurant closed at 10:00 pm, we were turned away and was told we can order something to eat from their restaurant from our room. As we were walking away, the feelom of frustration and hurt really set in. I began to feel like we were racially profiled and turned away unfairly. Not to mention, as we were walking away, we noticed a group with 6 people that were leaving the restaurant. Of course my friend and I both noticed this and questioned why we were not allowed in after that group left - they were no longer at capacity, right? Once I got back into the room, I immediately called down to the front desk to explain my experience at the restaurant. Needless to say, she made two excuses for why we were treated poorly - which none of them made sense. Not to mention, she said she would deduct the hotel resort fee for our troubles. I thanked her for this gesture, but I never asked for any compensation - I'm assuming this was her was of calming me down or silencing me. I really hate that this was our experience at the Motif's restaurant, The Frolik Kitchen, but it is what it is. I highly urge black travelers to not support this establishment. They are not for us.Show

Tayler was a great server.... Actually, he entire staff was great. Food and bev were as good as the atmosphere. Great stop in downtown Seattle!!

I love this spot it's consistent and amazing views. My favorite bar tender is Katie is is consistent and makes great drinks. If your looking for great views great food and most stylish people in seattle (I know the bar is not high) but really great vibe! Must visit!

I recently went to Frol!k for the first time and had a great experience. Our server Myles was very informative and welcoming. He provided top notch service throughout the entire evening. The location is amazing, definitely try the outdoor space! Will be back for sure.

The Frolik Restaurant is located on the fifth floor of the Motif Hotel in downtown Seattle. Itās a bar/restaurant with nice bar-height tables as well as couches in front of four flat screen TVs and a number of regular tables for dining. We stopped by for a late night light dinner on a Tuesday evening. Our server was Christin and she was friendly and attentive. My wife had the wedge salad while I had the crab cakes. The presentation on both was excellent. We both enjoyed our light dinner at the Frolik. The shock came when we received the check and noted a 20% surcharge āretained by our hourly Team Members.ā When I questioned the surcharge I was told that almost all Seattle restaurants are now applying surcharges of some kind to cover the raise in minimum wage. Not a good thing! Dropped rating from four to three stars due to surcharge.

I went to frolick for lunch they have a great rooftop patio the service was great our waiter was Sydney she was very attentive great service will recommend to all my friends

A very hip restaurant and bar with an outdoor patio. Numerous small plate menu options set in a relaxed dining/lounge environment. Located on the 5th Floor of the Motif Seattle Hotel. prices are reasonable and the establishment seems very popular with the locals.

I dined in this restaurant twice during my stay in the Motif Hotel. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was a bit of a disappointment. My "medium" hamburger was served to me blood red, and the English muffins on my Eggs Benedict, were hard and stale. I had much better (and less expensive fare) at the English Pub in the hotel's basement.

Located inside the Motif Hotel, this bar/restaurant is popular with both tourist as well as locals. Go for the mixed drinks and the large patio area complete with outdoor games (shuffleboard for one). The inside area is very nice as well. Their food menu is a little short, but the food itself is very good. My personal favorite was the hummus plate. The staff were all very knowledgeable and very friendly as well.

Played some ping pong on the patio. Myles kept the beers coming. Perfect stop while in town for the weekend.

I just wanted water. The lady bartender working was deaf and couldn't hear very well. Thank God this gentleman was able to hear what I wanted just water and gave it to me for free to make up for their suboptimal service from the bar. Thank you to that wonderful server for listening. Bar tenders here are horrible listeners!!!

I was staying at the Motif with a friend over Labor day weekend. We were exploring the city and the nearby national parks. We arrived rainy and cold from hiking on Friday night and decided to get one drink at the hotel bar to relax and warm up before we got ready and went out. Five hours later, we were still there, having a great time. We found the drinks so good, the bartenders so awesome, and the atmosphere so fun, we didn't want to leave. Jimmy the bartender in particular was really great. He made us special drinks he made up, as well as ones we requested off-menu. (Ask him for his special old fashioned or a Flaming B). He was really friendly and super hilarious and entertaining and the drinks he made were absolutely awesome -- and strong. (Thanks for a great night, Jimmy!) The other bartenders were really nice as well. The whole vibe was fun and friendly and just a great place to chill for the night. We didn't get dinner, so I can't speak to that, but we got apps (oysters, cheese plate) and they were really good, too. We went back for pre-going out drinks the next night too. Would definitely stay at this hotel, and go back to this bar, the next time I am in town.

Holy smokes! I'm blown away! I'm new to the city and everyone has been telling me that Frolik's rooftop is the place to be in the summer. I couldn't wait any longer, so a couple friends and I decided to check it out in these winter months. We ordered the octopus, hummus, and the burger. The cocktail list is quite extensive, but Chelsea suggested the campfire cocktail. Wowza! That cocktail was bomb.com! I think we all ended up having 3 each! Service was fantastic!!!!! Chelsea was on point and easy on the eyes if you know what I mean..š We will definitely be returning to try more of the craft cocktails and delicious food. Can't wait to sit on the patio in the summer. To everyone reading - GO CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

Had breakfast here as well as some appetizers. Noted the 20% included gratuity on the bill. Prices are high - but the appetizers were tasty and so was breakfast. Overall a nice choice if staying at the restaurant and you don't want to wander out in the rain. Service was good, though the waitstaff is very casual.

Outstanding dining experience. Competitively priced considering in the heart of Downtown Seattle. Great liquor and wine selections. Great for quick bite before local symphony concerts, other events or short walk of 3 minutes to Monorail for quick ride to Seattle Center for concerts or Kraken games. Staff were attentive, professional and offered a variety of suggestions to make this a very POSITIVE meal for both Dinner and Breakfast dining. Evening dining on the outdoor patio was superb!!! Highly recommend this location for any occasion.

Got to the rooftop at Frolik and I felt like I had just been transported to LA. The vibe is fun and food is good. It is also nice that it feels like a fun bar scene but they allow kids. There is ping pong and shuffleboard too. We ordered a few appetizers and a glass of wine and it was excellent. Highly recommend the hummus!

The wait staff here is excellent as is the menu. Try to Cheesy Bread which is goat cheese and butter stacked like a little brick wall.

I love Frolik during the warm months to take advantage of their outdoor rooftop deck in the middle of the city. Great for cocktails...been here a few times and I've never tried the food. Nice place to hang out to watch the Pride parade.

Great Happy Hour...Katie knows her drinks and knows the city local spots! Ask Katie where the local hot spots are while she slays away making your favorite concoction. Salud

I suggest to go to this place for drinks. The restaurant has very good service, but the food is not the best - jut usual. It is a good place to have drinks with a group of friends. Try to avoid the deserts (especially peach&chai ā fortunately I was not billed for this horrible desert (good point for service)).

We enjoyed Eggs Benedict for breakfast and appetizers (the bbq sliders were delicious) and wine for light dinner, and a relaxing view from the roof top terrace. Watched families playing shuffle board and the young people networking. As a hotel guest, it was convenient.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. When we showed up for our reservation the host looked puzzled and told us he was checking on our table. Then someone else came over and asked us to sit down and wait while they set up and got our table and curling area ready. We sat there for 15 minutes until the manager came up and told us our table wasn't available and that somebody else was using it. He said he messed up and double booked the space and even though we booked through Resy we were asked to leave. They did offer us a free draft beer or blueberry gin spritz to make up for it...but we don't drink. Our kids were clearly upset and they didn't offer to do anything for them. I understand double bookings happen but they way they handled it was total amateur hour. We were visiting Seattle from out of town and this was a major disappoint for us...we were really looking forward to the curling. We visit Seattle 1-2 times a year but we will never be back to Frolik...what a joke.

Went for a drink and a starter or two. Limited, not especially appealing menu, very OVERPRICED. Canāt comment on food; waiter never showed. We left. Went next door to the wonderful Elephant and Castle Pub.

We had our company cocktail party on the outdoor patio next to the fireplace and it was perfect. It was expensive but you get what you pay for. The weather was comfortable and the service was excellent. I recommend the bacon burger sliders. We also had an indoor space if it started to rain but that wasn't an issue. Frolik is one of the few rooftop bars in Seattle. I also liked their summer music mix. We will be going back again next year. Ask for Katie the special events coordinator and she will be very responsive.

Went there for breakfast. The food was great the service was excellent but it is extremely overpriced. Explains why it was empty.

Business travelers on a tight schedule in a higher end hotel greeted by and waited on by a single person, what could go wrong? A terribly bad business decision coupled with overpriced food. I paid $30 for oatmeal and yogurt with fruit and a coffee and waited 30 minutes. This hotel has problems, this is just 1 of many. Avoid like the plague. Looking here for breakfast options. Bring back a buffet and stop trying to be something you are not.

Wonderful atmosphere, wine, food and service from Seth!! Nice selection of food and the outdoor patio is beautiful! Will look forward to going back soon.

My boyfriend found this restaurant online and we were excited to try it while visiting Seattle. When we walked in, we had no idea if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. After a few minutes of blind stares from what appeared to be the wait staff, we decided to grab drinks at the bar and seat ourselves. This is apparently frowned upon by the wait staff because when a waitress finally came to our table after about 10 minutes, we got attitude. We got menus and asked for a few minutes to decide. "A few minutes" apparently means 15 minutes on a slow night so we sat and made friends with a neighboring table. When our waitress finally walked by, we caught her attention, voiced our frustration with her inattention, and asked if we could place our order. We ordered over $100 in tapas, which was the reason for our visit, and asked for another round of drinks. The waitress stared dumbly at us and mumbled something that resembled "sorry" when we voiced our frustration with the service, as if she was cinfused why we were annoyed. After waiting another 10-15 minutes with empty drinks, we went to the bar to pay for our drinks and left without another word to our incompetent waitress. I wonder how long our food sat at our empty table before she realized we were gone...

Me and my partner were staying at the Motif Hotel and had breakfast in Frolik one morning. The food was delicious and service was also good. However it was expensive compared to other places that we had eaten on our trip along the west cost. We paid using a $75 hotel credit we had and probably wouldn't had payed the prices.

My server Seth was awesome - very attentive and friendly. I was solo and on a business trip and I hadn't eaten all day. He suggested either the burger or the steak - I went with the steak and I had the bleu cheese bacon fries. It was amazing - the flavor was outstanding. The only thing I have as a critique would be that they have too many "fancy meals" and for a meat and potato kind of person, it was hard to look through the menu. In addition, their deserts were the same - weird choices. I went with the ricotta donut holes...personally hated them. With the name "donut holes", one would think it couldn't go wrong...lol. The ambiance was great and the staff all made sure I was taken care of well. Definitely would recommend!

The clientele here is diverse and fun. FANTASTIC rooftop view. No cover. Decent house cocktail list AND really good and fast service to your table.

We stayed at the Motif and this place is on the 5th floor. While this has the potential to be great there are some fundamental issues... Music is SO loud inside and out you canāt even talk to the people at your table It took over 45 mins to get our food once ordered They conveniently add 20% tip for themselves without letting you know (and deliver less than mediocre service) this ādisclaimerā is in fine print and only halfway legible as the ink is not fully printed. We were less than pleased to find out the next morning we paid an additional tip for a subpar Dinner and service experience.. The food itself was pretty good but highly overpriced for the portion. (we expected this in a trendy city locale) The manager did come out to confirm if there was a food allergy based on a request made when ordering so that was a plus. Outdoor set up and ambiance is nice, with the exception of music level. Wine choices not up to par.

Always a friendly bar staff and looks like people are having fun. The menu is not very big, but the food is very good.

As a single woman in Seattle, I like to experience many different places around this beautiful city. I have to say, this beautiful rooftop lounge was one of the coolest places I've been! It was great because there were a lot of good looking people around. I felt so at-home! The food was good, the drinks were perfect- and my server Myles was adorable and efficient. He was on point with his recommendations for an appetizer and cocktail. I will be back- this might be my favorite new place! Great service, Awesome atmosphere!

Yummy yogurt, granola, berry parfait. Great oatmeal, cocktails, lemon cake, coffee, turkey sandwich and fries, donuts and spicy chocolate and orange dipping sauce. YUMMY!!

Nice spot in downtown Seattle with great cocktails. The poppinā pops (flavor popsicles pairing with bubbles) was awesome!. But, service really sucks. Iām sorry but very poor service. Shame. People who where at my table before me, also complained about the service. Had to ask about three times to get my table clean. Another three, to order a drink. During the two hours I was there, three differents waiters assisted me. One of them very pretentious. I asked for the bill (multiple times) but bill never came. So, I had to go inside to pay. For real, a client begging for payment. Of course they added a 20% service charge although the service was super poor. Do yourself a favor and donāt go there. There are lots of better places all over downtown.

Because it was convenient (in our hotel), we ate dinner here three times in one week, but we wouldn't have been back after the first time had it not been such a great experience. Our wait people were great (Amelia and Tayler), the food was delicious, and I loved the music!

Katie is the best bar tender!! what a great location with a water view and all the TV's you will need.

'Twas a sunny Friday in May... I was recommended to Frolic for the sunny patio and cocktails. It was busy. Packed. I found a server and ordered from her without a menu. Jeanette I think her name was. She was great. Unfortunately something happened inside and they couldn't bring me the oysters I ordered. They did of course bring me my wine (good wine list) and the manager Mackenzie suggested the octopus. It we great. The manager was excellent. Great for a wide variety of ages. Nice place to dress up. Great 'fires' to stay warm as evening cools.

Good eggs benedict and delicious beet/ mix juice! Service: hmm nothing friendly or service oriented just OK

Stayed at the Motif for a week during a business trip, wanted a place where I could meet some local people and have a nice chat and Frolik is just the place for that. Seems like a local downtown favorite and the bartenders are awesome really enjoyed my multiple conversations with Alissa, Jeff and Katie, all of them top of the line bartenders!! Regards, Mr. Iceland

It has a very nice, light tapas type selection on the menu. Try the pork belly. In the Spring-Summer, it has a large open deck which is fairly rare for downtown Seattle. Service is good for a large facility. Wine and beer on the low end scale of pricing for Seattle (yea!). Hotel Motif has parking attached too. Try it.

Service was excellent. Very helpful especially since we were so hungry late at night and couldn't find a place to eat. We had steak, risotto and sourdough bread which was absolutely delicious.

I had the greatest time at Frolik the last few nights. Upscale, modern bar inside the Motif hotel at 5th and Union. It's hidden away on the 5th floor with outdoor terrace and fireplaces. What made my day were the funnest bartenders Katie (aka Geneva) and Jarad. Would come here again. Cannot judge on food, didn't have any.

If I ran a restaurant and ran out....... the sell it right across the way at Walgreens..... I would go buy a bottle out of the cash draw and make my clients happy it would be fairly seamless problem solver..... they also were out of a breakfast staple item one morning..... Really. The food we did have was good Great staff quick service, we loved the patio area and it had a busy night life going on almost always.

When I checked in late, I asked the front desk what restaurants were open nearby and they said a couple of restaurants, but recommended this one as it was on the 5th floor, easy to get to and has a view. So why not. The menu was limited, but what they had was great. I ordered the Pork Belly BLT w/string fries. When it came, my mouth was watering just looking at it. It wasn't your ordinary hotel food by any stretch of the imagination. Service was good as you would expect, but because of the late hour, there were no views and it was cold. They didn't bring out the heat lamps or I couldn't see them. What I did notice was a long table with flames running down the middle. People were huddled around it with their drink to gather what little warmth it had. Cool effect though. They also have a ping pong table, I was told, but didn't see it. There's a full bar when you come into the restaurant.

Checked this place out while my wife and I were enjoying our stay at the hotel - pretty awesome food.

This is inside the Motif Hotel (used to be the Red Lion) on the 5th floor with partial roof access. This is a casual, but very nice bar/restaurant with inside and outside seating. The food is upscale and tasty, but reasonable. This is a nice place to relax and have a good meal, however there is no valet so you will need to park in the hotel garage.

Mauricio took absolutely amazing care of me at the bar. I didnāt order a thing off the menu, but he surprised me time and again by asking about my preferences and creating amazing cocktails to match my tastes. Ask about his Mezcal Espresso Martini and Mezcal Sour, they were both brilliantly balanced and served with a smile!

This is a great place for a post-work drink. Our server was Tayler. He was great and made sure to check in on us without putting any pressure on us to rush, even when it started to get crowded. Seating was very comfortable and the drinks were really good. I had a Pear Ginger Moscow Mule and it was refreshing and just sweet enough. Easily accessible from all parts of Seattle, very central location! I would definitely come back!

Iāll visit this place again. Good atmosphere. Good music. The server was a genuinely polite and friendly young man who my wife and I discovered is a college student studying creative writing because thatās his intended future. He has a great attitude towards his customers and really made our long, hard day better. Unfortunately, I cannot recall his name! Ugh! At any rate, my wife and I both had burgers and fries as it was getting late in the evening. We will probably eat here again either on our current trip or the next time we visit Seattle. The burgers and fries are excellent!!

Great spot for a happy hour in Seattle in the sun. Normally the service is a little slow, but they seem to be picking it up. Taylor our server made sure we were never empty, and the octopus calamari was awesome!

Nice deck, Seattle music wether you want it or not, servers in drab uniforms and nametags, decent cocktails

As guests, we used Frolik for takeout lattes one day & a sit down breakfast on another. The table service was really excellent, they offer a wide range of breakfast choices plus are flexible (vegetarian friendly) & offer good coffee & espresso options. The decor is very sleek & contemporary, fitting into the Hotel Motif style. Seattle is expensive generally), so it wasnāt a shock that breakfast for 2 came to $67 with tip & taxes.

I was in Seattle for my 21st birthday back in September of 2015. I've always wanted to come to Seattle since I was child. I was infatuated with the Space Needle. I'm also an Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks fan, and I went to the game to watch them play. I stayed here at the Motif Hotel and I absolutely loved it. I was welcomed with open arms. I think it's the best hotel in Seattle. The staff was really nice. The day after the game I ate at Frolik and I loved the food. I had ordered some salmon and it was delicious. My waitress was Bree, and she was really cool. She was one of the most nicest people I ever met. (Shout Out to Bree) I wanted to come back to Seattle around this time close to the New Year, but I'm unable too. But I will come back again for sure, this isn't the last time you all will see me. Happy New Year!

This nice restaurant is located on the 5th floor of the Motif hotel. A benefit of dining here at breakfast are the 4 big screen tv's that are all tuned in to various news channels that quickly bring you up to date on all pertinent overnight news. We shared the Cruncy Corn flake French toast which was very good, & split the Chefs omelet of the day. Good food & Great service for 30 bucks.

If you are staying at the Motif and want a drink and an appetizer or small meal, this is comfortable with good service.

Large space for inside and outside, and service is attentive and also comfortable with letting the party linger without any further orders. Breakfast food was just okay in the sense that it wasn't served hot, which was disappointing.

You read the menu, and it sounds great, cool cutting edge food to match the hip design and the gorgeous deck. But the cooks at frolik can't cook. At dinner when I first arrived at the hotel, I was excited to order a fun dish called tot-tine, a take on poutine. The tots were good, but there was very few curds and the mushroom gravy was tasteless. At breakfast, though I ordered a croque madam with a duck egg on it. The gravy was floury (someone didn't cook it long enough) the only taste to it was mustard, and the egg on top was a disaster: burned on the bottom and runny whites on the top. My waitress disappeared, not checking to see if was ok, or to refill my water or coffee. When she came back and I complained, she said eggs are hard to cook. Come on! She sent another person with coffee and water (took quite a bit of time) and I had to ask for the check. She brought it, and said "we took off 25% for the egg." Even though I couldn't finish it when I got to the whites because it was too disgusting. And she ran away after saying that. Bad bad service, bad bad food. That said, the bar staff is wonderful and the bar space is fun. Come for a drink, but go one block further to RN74 for food.

Thought everything about the Frolik rooftop was great, perfect setting to grab a drink with friends. However, the manager at the time was extremely rude and had a poor attitude to my group. My advice to everyone is not to go to Frolik with more than yourself or maybe 1 other person. If you're in a big group, I would recommend heading to another spot or else you may get treated with the same type of abrupt, ill-mannered treatment we did. Will not be going back there.

Awesome ambiance! The perfect mix of classy and casual. A good place for anyone to visit. Our bartender, Katie Campbell, was extremely knowledgable and seemed genuinely interested in helping us find the right drink. It made for the perfect evening!

I debated between average and very good rating but the friendly service pushed me toward very good. The interior space is EXTREMELY loud. Wouldn't even attempt this space. Patio is very nice with surprisingly spacious areas for an outdoor area. Caution-it is not rooftop as I heard from many locals. The cliental was unique which made for nice people watching. Cocktails and appetizers were very good. Not sure I would go back but fun for an hour.

My daughter and I had the good luck of sitting in the area Alli was serving. From the first moment she approached our table, we knew our experience would be wonderful. She had a warm, friendly smile and made sure our experience was enjoyable. The food was great, but no matter how good the food is, it is the service that makes the difference. I highly recommend this restaurant and hopefully you will have the good fortune of having Alli as your server. Thank you, Alli and keep sharing that beautiful smile!

The food was decent but the best part of the restaurant is the balcony. Fire pit table and very nice view of the city.

Loved the food at this restaurantā¦. Highly recommended! They have an indoor and outdoor seating area ā¦. Thereās an option of being seated by the warm fire at the outdoors on a lovely chill night š„

After visiting Seattle multiple times in the past year, I have to give Frolik two huge thumbs up! Great atmosphere and food/drink selection. Their staff is wonderful to work with and are very accommodating. I must reserve my best words for Tayler, who my friends and I have dubbed the #bestbartenderever - he is the friendliest and most knowledgable bartender we've come across. They work with large groups as well.

We were staying in the hotel and just happened to stop in for dinner and we were so glad we did. The roof top deck is huge with game tables and lots of seating. Our server was Tayler and he was so much fun, it made our dinner that much more enjoyable. The drinks and food were really good, but the desserts were out of this world. Good ambiance, good food, good drink, and good service, what more could you ask for?

The photos speak for themselves about the ambiance but the service is where it's at. Myles is the reason why Frolik is our new favorite bar in Seattle! Thank you for your outstanding service, we can't wait to come back!

This is a great place for a quick happy hour. Seth was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks were awesome. He made great suggestions for our group. We'll be back for another work happy hour.

On the 5th floor of the Motif hotel, outdoor terrace dining is very pleasant. The food choices for lunch were good and the different items tasted fine. Inexcusable for the waiter to leave finished food plates on table in front of guest while coffee is being served.

This place is awesome! Friendly staff, very sophisticated feel for a Bar/Kitchen. Comfortable seating, great Bar front and Delish Food!!! For a Hotel Bar it's top notch!

Fun, hip rooftop bar area was a great spot for our group of friends to enjoy Seattle nightlife on the weekend. Our server Myles, was knowledgeable and friendly, not to mention accommodating with some of our dietary concerns. He was patient and professional. We will be back to visit Myles!

I had a great time at the Frolik! Katie made me the best drinks I have ever had! The service was fantastic thank you Katie, Damien and Chris for making my trip so memorable! Kristy Reinke :-)

I had mixed feelings about my experience at Frolik. Together we had a cocktail, a beer, the "tasty dips," the deviled eggs, and the cobb salad. The food was good (but pricey) - those dips were darn tasty. However, our server had a poor attitude and paid very little attention to us, even though we were the only ones on the rooftop. He also seemed very put off that we asked to split our check (again, despite that we were the only ones out there). I personally don't need much from my servers, but perhaps be a little more polite? Overall, the ambiance is fabulous and I would come again, but would prefer more welcoming service.

While other hotels reserve their rooftop for guests only, Frolik remains the best place for a summer cocktail, creative/friendly bartenders, and a classy atmosphere for a night out with girlfriends. This is my go-to spot and there is always enough places to stand/sit and chill comfortably.

Food was good. Service was attentive and prompt. We chatted with our server for a bit and he became quite friendly. Food was tasty and the giant Jenga game was entertains!

Needed a quick breakfast for family. It was good and quick. We tried the eggs and pancakes. The food was very good. Orange juice was good too. It was a little pricey, but equivalent for area.

Made a stop here while in Seattle on business and had an absolute gorgeous view of the downtown area. The bartender, Katie, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and pointed me in all the right directions. She also made some very unique and fantastic cocktails. Looking forward to my next visit!

While looking for new rooftop bars to visit we found this on Yelp with nice reviews. We must have gone on an off afternoon because although we were seated quickly and given water, we waited until it seemed obvious no one was interested in taking our drink order. It was a very young crowd and maybe some almost seniors was an unwelcome site. We left without comment

The Frolik is the fifth floor "award winning" rooftop view restaurant upstairs at the Motif Hotel. I'm not sure why it was rated in a travel magazine as one of the top ten rooftop views in the world. I mean, the view of the harbor is nice enough, but nothing approaching the spectacular harbor views of Madronna on Roche Harbor or the Blue Water on Friday Harbor or other places. You can play ping pong and other games on the roof, however, and you can surely people-watch the "trendy" young crowd dressed to kill. Inside, you find a very attractive bar with engaging and versatile bartenders who will fix anything you can concoct in your mind or if your imagination fails, they will make inventive suggestions The service is great...well paced. The burgers are high quality, but there are better offerings on the menu, The chicken sliders are really good. The fried goat cheese bits are fine. The tater tots with bacon, mushroom gravy and cheese curds are a hit. The arugula and salmon is OK, but the arugula alone is terrific and well seasoned. The steak salad is good enough, largely because the salads are so fresh and so well prepared. Finally, I found what could become my new "last request" meal (If I were in the mood for such a final request), I always thought this would be Mom's lamb Chops with mash potatoes or a great Cheeseburger, but I'm not so sure now that I have sample Frolik's salami cream cheese roll-ups. Something about the quality of the salami and how they seasoned the cream cheese (No garlic)...Could not get enough.

The brunch was very delicious. Even better was the service we received from Stephen. He was very attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable.

Personally, I didn't like the restaurant much. Went for dinner with a colleague since we were staying at the hotel and it was raining out. First, I personally didn't think there was much of an atmosphere. Secondly, the menu didn't excite me. Not many options for a vegan although server went to find out what could be done and there were two options, a kale / grain salad or mushroom risotto that could be adapted. I went for the salad, which was nice but not nice enough to have me come back. Especially as there are other places in close walking distance with more choices.
business stay
I was staying at the motif and after a business meeting I went to a table and waited 15 minutes and no one even recognized my presence. I tried somewhere else across the street. The following night we had cocktails there on the patio and the service was much better. Very limited food menu.
