Great breakfast and lunch spot!

By janett1957 |

Now these folks know how to make a breakfast! This is a true diner, with great home-style food. We went there three times for breakfast while in Portland, it's that good, and once for lunch, and the food was great every time. It was always busy when we were there, with lots of regulars coming in - a good sign. Service is fast and friendly, and prices really reasonable. If you want a great basic breakfast - this is the place!

A Real Traditional Lunch Counter with Character and Great Foodd

By HoffmanTravelers |

We stumbled upon Fuller's after stopping at a couple nearby galleries. This throwback lunch counter is the real deal. Breakfast is served anytime of the day and we would highly recommend taking advantage of it! The food is really good and served in very generous portions. We had their Pig in a Blanket and their Famous Omelette. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive and even recognized "regulars" as they walked in. Not upscale by any means but then places with real character rarely are. Go. Sit. Stay. And Enjoy!

Steak and Eggs

By Mike R |

Diner with all the old time feel just up from Powells. Steak and eggs for $10.50, not good for this price since 1979!

Fantastic brunch

By BldrHts |

My friend and I decided to eat here instead of waiting in line at another popular restaurant, and it was a terrific decision. We sat down at the counter (no wait on a Saturday brunch time). The service was fast and the food--plentiful and delicious. Can't wait to return on my next trip to Portland.

The Best Blueberry Pancakes...EVER

By Carrie B |

Wonderful old diner established in 1947(granted it has moved a few times). Great service and a wonderful breakfast. I wish we had been in town longer dan I would have come back for lunch!

had a cup of coffee in this lovely old diner

By RSNN |

I have wlked by this place many times and they are always closed by that time of day. This time I was walking by early in the day to go to The Pittock Mansion via Forest park. Thought it over and decided that I just had to go inside and see what the place is like and at least have a cup of coffee. I loved the look of the place it is just like an old diner out of the past. Round stools at the counters. I was amused to see a Hopper diner picture on the wall by their flashy neon rimmed clock. The coffee was good and the menu was very tempting. This would be a great place to have breakfast. and I do plan to return to do just that. good service. and a nice friendly atmosphere. A shame this place is only open to 2 PM

A slice of Portland

By JaneHiatt |

We wanted to experience a breakfast place that was classic Portland and for sure this was. Founded in 1947, it had all the classic food you'd expect and such a cross-section of people.. i think people watching was the best part. Cool decor. The food was good if you want diner cuisine!

Great menu. Excellent Food.

By Leigh-Traveler2015 |

Great menu. Excellent Food. Reasonable prices. Outdoor seating. We ate here both mornings because it was delicious! I had the famous omelette which was delicious. Some of the best hash browns I’ve had. My date had the chicken fried steak and gravy. Also quite tasty. Really good coffee with constant refills. Hard working attentive staff. Went back the next morning and had different omelette....very good. I highly recommend stopping in for a huge tummy filling meal!

Great Breakfast taking me back in time

By SeattleTef |

I went out for a walk this morning for coffee while I waited for the ladies to get dressed. I walked by Fuller's Coffee shop. We had breakfast her this morning adn had the pancake sandwich which had 3 pancakes and 2 eggs and OJ. The pancakes. I only ate 1-1/2 and half the eggs. They where delicious. When nearby try Fullers Coffee.

Nice Morning Surprise

By Cindyclh |

Little coffeeshop that will bring you back in time. Don't judge a book by the cover--food was great--homemade breads & home fries. Friendly servers!

Great place for breakfast.

Great place for breakfast. Fast service, good food and a fair price. Everything looked delicious. Enjoy!

Breakfast with Portland Flare

By II____Jen____II |

We happened upon Fullers on accident, but were not disappointed. The restaurant has an interesting layout with a limited number of seats. The staff was very attentive, the food was outstanding, and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend Fullers to anyone looking for a hearty, inexpensive breakfast in Portland.

Be still my heart, a real diner

By GrandTour595227 |

Be still my heart: a genuine, vintage, U-shaped diner with an amazing breakfast and outdoor seating? I could hardly believe my good fortune on discovering Fuller’s Coffee Shop during a trip to Portland in August 2020. The friendly staff helped my friend and I enjoy our lunchtime breakfast, consisting of eggs, pancakes and French toast. We are returning with my friend’s partner as soon as possible . He’d love it.

Perfect diner experience

By Cathye O |

All seats are at the counter. No separate tables. Fresh coffee that keeps coming. Fast food cooked to order in standard diner style and standard diner menu. Nothing fancy but this is what a diner should be. Luckily when we arrived, there were available seats but on our way out there was already a line. If you need to use the restroom, hope you're not too big. Smallest stall ever :)

Excellent local find for breakfast

By tarheelblue822 |

Stumbled upon this place and was so glad we did. Old school counter service, went for breakfast. Servers were incredibly friendly and attentive - loved to chat about our trip and offer advice. Breakfast options were large and food was ready rather quickly. Ham and cheese scramble - any of the scrambles or omelets - served with toast and a large amount of hash browns. All perfectly cooked, too much to eat. French toast looked really good too. Highly recommend this local find with really nice people and great food.

I'm so full!!!

By rrosepetal |

This is one of my husband's favorite diners. It has been serving people for 60 years and still a great spot for breakfast and lunch. In the summer they set tables out side and they are always full. Inside are bar stools like the old days. Today, I had the pig in a blanket. Sausage rolled in a light perfect German pancake, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with warm maple syrup and butter. I wanted to eat it all, but my belly was full halfway through it. My hubby had his usual sausage and eggs with hashbrowns and toast. Wonderful coffee and the service is stellar. Head down for a flashback to great food and service!

Great breakfast at the counter

By Andrew L |

If you want to sit at a table indoors, this place is not for you. But if you can eat breakfast at counter seating, you can get great blueberry pancakes, eggs as you like them, or other diner-style items. Should you order bacon, the serving size is 4 strips. Service is attentive an friendly.

Feels so homey

By Nadia L |

Love places you can go and see someone come in and the waitress asks if they want their “usual ,” I think that’s the best!! Awesome breakfast with no frills!! Just got home cooked meal taste! Pancakes are huge and fluffy. Seemed like a favorite morning spot for the local working people!

Great Classic American Breakfast

By SC Wolfe |

If you're just looking for the classic no-frills breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, hash-browns, etc.) this is one not to pass up. Given they've been around since 1947, they're doing something right. You can see the cooks while they cook - hope the shorter Hispanic cook is being paid well - that man works his butt off. Great diner atmosphere, friendly staff - always attentive. Small inside, but the turnaround for a seat, is worth the wait.

Friendly staff

By Karen G |

This is a small breakfast restaurant, established in 1947. Everyone is ready friendly since you walk in and they give you a seat immediately. Prices are very reasonable and the menu has a good selection for breakfast, but food is not very good. The bacon comes very dark, you can tell it was done in old oil and the hashbrowns need some seasoning, it was tasteless. The hot chocolate was very good.

Great quick breakfast

By starkris9 |

Great breakfast! Fast service and good quality food. Short wait on a Monday but it was worth it to get going from downtown.

Nice place to stop by and enjoy breakfast/brunch

By Taeho C |

Pretty much a hole in the wall diner that hasn't changed since it opened, which makes it more appealing. Great environment to eat brunch at. Food was great the both times I got it and so fresh too! After eating their food you'll forget the meaning of being cold because it warms every cell in your body.

Very Good

By DONNY S |

Ate lunch here twice at outdoor tables. We had omelettes as breakfast is served all day. Served hot, tasty, portions good, very reasonable. They have been in business a long time and it shows as the service is very good. Thanks to Jacqueline our waitress and Eric the host.

A predictably huge breakfast

By TheClairevH |

We were recommended this place for breakfast and even having been for a run and eating brunch it out faced us! If you are looking for a good American blow out you won't be disappointed. not glamorous but it was fun

Great spot for breakfast!

By Doug S |

Yes, there is a free breakfast available at the Hampton Inn. But, the breakfast at Fuller's is so damn good that I never pass it up when I stay in the Pearl District. Excellent egg dishes, great omelettes and love the french toast. Great service. Bring cash.

Unique Diner

By Sue S |

What an interesting return to the past place for breakfast. There is counter seating only, but that only adds to the charm. On the weekend, best to get there early (7am on Saturdays; 8am Sundays) or there will be a line. The menu provides the standard breakfast brunch fare - omelets of all types, pancakes, home made hash - cooked to order and freshly made. The food is good, but the atmosphere is great! Worth a visit when you visit Portland.

Take a trip back a few decades when u shape lunch bars and short stools were the norm.

By Paulguay |

Went here with a bunch of friends for breakfast and clearly not disappointed. You can much down some guilt free corned beef hash and eggs whilst enjoying a delicious bottomless cup of jo. Light and fluffy pancakes, scrumptious chicken salad club sandwiches. All very reasonably. The friendly staff will make sure everything is to your liking. Don’t miss this opportunity.

AWESOME!!! EAT HERE!!

What a great find!!! A totally awesome place with friendly, efficient staff, excellent food! We ate there every morning for the four days we were in Portland. Great prices! a true "diner" experience!

Classic Mid-Century Diner Breakfast

By Richard W |

My wife and I stopped in at Fuller’s Coffee Shop after first passing it on our way to three other Portland Foodie brunch destinations—each place overflowing with patrons and long wait lists. We circled back to Fuller’s and after a 5 minute wait grabbed two seats at the counter. The homemade corn beef hash was tasty and notably grease-free. Eggs over easy provided the extra special sauce to blend and bind all the fresh flavors. The prices were refreshingly mid-century, too—unaffected by the general inflated Foodie economy. I recommend this place for the kind of hearty, simple breakfast like grandma used to serve up.

Good food, rude waitress

By Dan g |

waitress was rude. No need to bring your ear to your customer and say out loud “can you speak up I can’t hear you” in front of the other customers. Besides the rude waitress, the food was good

Astronomical Breakfast

By GaOnMyMind |

This place simply blew my mind. I had their Bacon egg and cheese sandwich with Georgia potatoes ( hashbrowns ), my friend had the German pancake. both were delicious. The German pancake is huge ! It's like a crepe but thicker and had a fluffy texture with a great eggy flavor. The coffee was fresh and the waitress was SUPER nice like most people in Oregon. Total bill was $ 14 bucks only !

Amazing French Toast!

By Hoopgypsy |

I went here for breakfast twice. French toast was so good. I love old diners and they also had outside seating.

Best Breakfast in Portland

By karl d |

Great old school breakfast joint although they also serve lunch love sitting at the counter and having a cup of joe

Good food, served fast

By JetBlueDriver |

I would have given 5 stars if my silverware wasn’t so filthy. The waitress was so busy working by herself, I couldn’t even get her attention to get a new set. One of the cooks finally got me some. The menu is great and my omelette was served incredibly fast and it was delicious. The coffee was very good. Great prices. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Yes to the big breakfast !!!!!

By P S |

Walking around downtown Portland is crapshoot, but luckily locals told where to eat. Fuller's Coffee shop is right out of 1950, vintage seats at the counter, loads of coffee, and breakfast as big as car !! Service is old fashioned diner, and lively conversation is not lacking. Big menu, full of heaping good food. Can't remember the last time I had corn beef hash...YAY !! Everything was big, everything was awesome. We loved the experience. Good prices, old fashioned big breakfast.

what breakfasts should be!

By Skip H |

plan on suspending your diet- this is an old-school breakfast spot- lots of good and fresh food- worth the wait (quite popular)- all is hone made and fantastic

Fantastic Breakfast

By Lindsey W |

This place is a family favorite and worth the wait. The food is fresh and hot, with homemade jams and bread. I highly recommend the veggie omelet with wheat toast. It is always fun to chat with others sitting next to you and meeting new people.

Gooder than good

By o2see |

Corn beef hash better here than anywhere I've ever been - including my mama's kitchen. Eggs cooked to perfection. Yummy homemade rye bread toasted and slathered with fine blackberry jam that was obviously made on site. I don't think I'll want to leave!

Victor's Omelette was the BOMB!

By worldtravel1936 |

Small, quaint with outstanding food and outstanding service! I had the Victor's Omelette with bacon added and hash browns - amazing! The wait staff was extremely friendly and professional!

Great old fashioned breakfast restaurant

By Al |

Love this place, very old fashioned design that hasn't changed since 1947. Good food, great people and reasonable prices.

Love Fuller's

By lightningwhelk |

A great, real diner. After spending too much money on mediocre breakfasts we finally found Fuller's. Good old American style breakfasts and very reasonable prices. I had one egg, two large slices of bacon, and one pancake for $4.95. The food is good and the coffee too.

Terrific diner

By NaomiDagenBloom |

Wonderful dining experience with granddaughters 8 and 11. Good waffle (I'm told), great enormous club sandwich (I'm told)--and good eggs & bacon for grandparents. Very good coffee too.

Food for Weary Travelers

By matthewabel |

Sometimes even the most ambitious of foodies gets tired of "artisanal" and "to perfection." Thus, the diner. This was exactly what we wanted. Local, but typical fare. Good burgers, sides, sandwiches and breakfast foods. You sit at a counter - unless outdoor dining is open. Prices are - mostly - under 10 a plate. It was a perfect little meal before the bookstore.

Classic Diner Experience

By SmilynStef |

Fuller's was one of the few places we could find that served breakfast before 8am on a Saturday (our stomachs were still on CST). When I saw the Corned Beef Hash for the person sitting next to me contained tons of Green Peppers (which I cannot eat), I asked if it was too late to amend my order to omit the Peppers. They graciously re-made my dish. Hash Browns were super-crispy and delicious and bread for the toast was homemade.

Good eats

By John P |

Stopped by for a late breakfast and found the menu chocked full of tempting and tasty meals. Settled on an omelet with a side of toast and fruit and was not disappointed

Don't miss this classic counter restuarant

By Brad G |

Don't miss a fantastic breakfast or lunch at Fuller's counter while you are in Portland. Come in and sit next to visitor and locals and enjoy your food and make some friends. This is a classic old school breakfast/lunch counter. Fast and friendly service, great classic food and a great price.

Welcoming atmosphere, good breakfast and reasonable price.

By Bullet-PDX |

Just looking for breakfast out one Saturday morning about 1 mile from home in Goose Hollow. Had seen Fuller's a number of times and were attracted to the 1950's diner look with horseshoe counters. Busy when we arrived at about 11am. Even though it was packed the turnover was quick and we had only a short wait. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Offered a coffee while we waited. This is a true diner with counters and stools and seats about 30. Genuine diner fair. Food came quickly and hot off the grill. We had french toast using home-baked bread and the breakfast special of hotcake, fried eggs and bacon. Full meal but not stuffed. Bottomless coffee. If you are downtown stop at Fullers to start your day. Breakfast for two with coffee less than $13. We noticed most folks sitting around us were having standard breakfast fare.

Coffee and Work

By Brad |

What a great place to meet friends or have a conversation with a coworker. Its also a great place to meet for business. Bring your computer and do some work here as well as having a great tasting cup of coffee. From morning to Night you can relax and enjoy.

Extremely disappointing experience at Fuller’s.

By Carlos A |

They have a sign-in waitlist system, but what’s the point if the staff doesn’t even use it? You walk in, no greeting, no acknowledgment—you just type your name and hope someone eventually notices. The girl working today didn’t say a word to anyone, just looked up occasionally and either ignored people or decided who to take based on who was standing nearest. At one point, she looked around the restaurant, pointed to us, and loudly said, “Oh, were they next? They look mad.”—right in the middle of the dining room. Everyone turned to stare. Not only was it rude, it was completely unprofessional. The customers who walked in after us even spoke up and said others (not just us) had been waiting longer. If you can’t handle working in a customer-facing role, maybe this isn’t the job for you. We ended up leaving, and she clearly didn’t care one bit. Fuller’s used to be a warm, welcoming spot. Now? No smiles, no friendliness, no accountability. It’s no surprise there isn’t a line out the door anymore.

Local counter-only breakfast/lunch

By csrollyson |

We don’t need no stinkin’ badges! 25 or so stools close together, fantastic service. Ample portions. I had the corned beef hash. Fuller’s is a refreshing oasis in a sea of poser prefab. In business since 1947!
