This Brazilian steakhouse is fantastic. The prices are unbeatable and they have great service. The management and servers are excellent. The server is checking up on you regular bases to ensure everything is going well. Upon arriving you are greeted by the host and feel welcomed. You begin with the salad bar which is at your convenience. Once you are finished with your salad, you are then given a card in which you can decide whenever you are ready to eat, red signaling not ready and green signaling the Gauchos that you are ready. The Gauchos are excellent in paying attention to your card. Their meat tastes great and they have a variety of meats from lamb to pork. They also have fish dishes, specifically smoked salmon which is delicious. The price is great for what you eat, at around 30.00 for lunch for an all you can eat buffet, this deal is unbearable! I have been to numerous steakhouses around San Antonio and this is by far the best one for its unbeatable price, food quality, and service.

We've been to chain Brazilian steakhouses before, but this one was really excellent. It had a small restaurant feel to it, felt like you had very personal service. They waitstaff were brilliant, as was the manager, who walked around and asked about out wellbeing from time to time. The price was very reasonable, the meats were cooked to perfection, and if you wanted something in particular, all you had to do was ask. If we lived in San Antonio we would definitely make this a regular stop.

I really wanted to like this place. Our adult daughter was in town and picked this place due to the Restaurant Week special. Salad bar, meats, and dessert for $45. The first clue this was not a prime Brazilian Steakhouse was the hostess. We had reservations and she came back 4 times to ask who we were and if we had checked in. It was not a busy night. We finally got sat after our reservation time and once again I noticed it was not that busy for Saturday at 7PM. They do have a good salad bar, but I'm here for the meat at this price point. The gauchos were pretty sparse and there was a long wait between them circulating about the place. The picanha and garlic picanha were my favorites. My daughter tried the bacon wrapped chicken, but it was dry. We had to flag down a manager to get the garlic picanha. I just realized after looking at the menu we never saw the grilled pineapple, filet mignon, grilled salmon, bacon wrapped sirloin, or lamb chops come by our table. For dessert we had creme brulee that was quite tasty. But then the bill came. Instead of $45 a piece the waitress charged us $47.50 a piece plus dessert. I explained it was Restaurant Week and it should be $45 each. She came back with a bill of $45 a piece plus nearly $10 each for dessert. I flagged down another waiter to explain the situation and he finally got the bill right. And later I realized they charged us for "aqua panna" which was bottled water that we did not ask for. I have been to Chama Gaucha across the road and their service and meats are far superior.

The Manager Warner Rocha was Amazing and accommodating to our request. We got married in the patio section on July 4th, then moved the guest into the restaurant where the Manager and staff were very professional, accommodating and most of all attentive. My guest loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing. The children loved the banana slices, sour dough cheese puffs and were very happy. I loved this restaurant!

As a frequent traveler to Brazil, I have fell in love with Brazilian food. This restaurant obviously uses a high grade beef, you can taste it. I have eaten at the more well known Brazilian steakhouses, and I honestly prefer Galpão Gaucho. It is always a plus when the staff speaks Portuguese and 1/2 of the customers are Brazilian, because you know they know what they are doing! All you can eat meat and salad bar for just a little more than a steak at most American steakhouses, SO worth it!!!

Please do yourself a favor, their are PLENTY of Brazilian steakhouses in the city, don't waste your time or money on this place. Rude service, half the food was offered (at dinnertime) hokey atmosphere.

My husband and I made reservations here to celebrate a birthday. I called a week ahead to make the reservation and was taken care of efficiently, confirming for the following week. We even received an email reminder two days before our reservation asking us to confirm we were still coming. When we arrived, we had a short wait; the restaurant already looked full and we had reservations at 6:15. No worries, we didn't wait long and were seated after about a 7 minute wait. Our head server took our drink order and explained briefly about the salad bar. The salad bar had a nice selection and everything looked fresh. The Caesar salad was very good and there was extra dressing for it on the side it you wanted more; it was outstanding. We tried a little of most things on the salad bar, but sparingly, so as not to fill up too much before trying the roasted meats. Once we flipped our coasters over to green to signal to the serving gauchos we were ready for the meat, they came by pretty frequently and were very efficient. We tried most everything offered except the sausage and the bacon wrapped chicken and the beef ribs. My husband focused on the grilled salmon which he said was very delicious. They offered a dill-type tartar sauce with it and it complemented the salmon well. I sampled the bottom sirloin, both the garlic and the spicy Picanha, the regular Picanha, bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin, the leg of lamb. The gauchos always asked how I preferred my cut and I asked for medium rare on everything. The bottom sirloin was juicy and seasoned well. It was very tasty and somewhat firm, not chewy, just right. The garlic and spicy Picanha were both delicious and the spicy version was just that, it had a lot of zingy kick to it; I got that one twice, as I thought it was very different. The bacon-wrapped tenderloin melted in my mouth and the flavor of the bacon really complimented it. The lamb was a little too rare for my particular taste, as I think it might have been a bit too chewy as a result, but it still had good flavor. There were beef ribs that came through the room too at some point, but by that time, I was already in a meat coma, lol. Along with the meat, our server brought side dishes to our table which included fried banana, fried polenta, mashed potatoes that had chopped green onion and cheese on the top, and two kinds of sauces, a chimichurri and a spicy like picante sauce to add to our meat as we wished. I loved the chimichurri sauce and used that a lot, and the picante was good too. The meat came pretty frequently and we had to turn our coasters over to red to slow down a bit, as we ate what we had on our plates. We took our time and never felt rushed. The server was very attentive, as were the gauchos, and were quick to respond if you asked them for something that hadn't passed through the room in awhile. My husband asked about getting more salmon and they made sure to bring it by our table pronto. By the time we we were through, the (smallish) waiting area had swelled with people and was standing room only, so it's definitely worth calling ahead for reservations and making them for earlier in the evening as we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely go back again! Also, there doesn't seem to be a dress code per se, but we were glad we dressed up just a little bit; it made the evening seem a little more special. Some of the other diners looked way too casual for that kind of ambience. It's not cheap, but well worth the money!

At first, I was a little leery of a place that walked around with meat on sticks, but it was quite an enjoyable evening. We started with a self serve salad bar. Our waiter brought our drinks, cheese bread, mashed potatoes, plantains, and another item I am not familiar with. We never had to ask for refresher dishes, they were very attentive. For the meat selection, you must turn over a green card if you are ready for your meat course, and turn the red card if you are not ready. They come around very quickly and offer your choice of cooked meat (well done to rare). It's a pricey meal but worth it if you're celebrating.

Not what I was expecting. Been to a few others and the decor was not 5 Star. Service was lacking for the price you pay they should be right there waiting for you to want more. Most of the meat was very tasty. Salad bar was excellent. Would not go back!!

Nice place, come hungry. Lots of all kinds off beet served on skewers... take all you want. If you leave this place hungry somethings wrong. Nice atmosphere and the wait staff are very friendly and Johnny on the spot. Not as good as competitor down the street but still a great experience.

Like any brazilian place the meat offering is good. The salad bar is not the best but has decent options.

For three years in a row, we have chosen this location for a yearly business dinner for 30 people. Every year, we received excellent service and the food is delicious! The private room is perfect for events. The staff is attentive and professional. The manager, Wagner Rocha, is delightful and efficient. Everyone loves it and we will be back!

I took my daughter there for her birthday for dinner. The staff was very attentive. My favorite was the lamb chops. All of the meats were good. The side buffet was fresh and they had a great variety. A little pricey but this was a special occasion.

The quality is amazing and the meats are tender and cooked to perfection. The service is absolutely impeccable. Strongly recommend!!

We all enjoyed it. The service was excellent. The variety of meats are awesome. Very fresh Salad options. I love there hot sides to along with your meal. What was disappointing was the salmon had no flavor. And the soup was bland. We will diffinitely return. This was our first time at their new location, love the atmosphere.

Great salad bar, cheese bar, meat selection was so fantastic. Told the server it was my girlfriends birthday and he gave us a free flan. Love this place.

We came for Father's day Lunch and I was not impressed. We came to this steak house because we loved it last year but they had a different location which I liked much better. I was very disappointed with the service and the sitting area of our table. We were sat in the private dining area which felt very cramped. In addition, that area of the restaurant was also very loud. In regards to service, the waiter was kind in the beginning and it seemed that towards the end of our meal it was very difficult to find him. The service was very slow. When we arrived they didn't have enough of the green/red cards and once he brought them he just threw them on the table. This was not my first time at a Brazilian steak house and I feel that there is a level of service that you expect when eating at one. I don't even believe there was an acknowledgement that it was father's day. I love that they have the option of salmon but you only get one chance to receive that entree. If you ask for it again be prepared to wait 20 mins or so. Overall I was very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this location.

On September 17, 2023, a family of 6 of us had 5:45 P.M. dinner at this location. First, there appeared to be adequate staffing and it was not too business for an early Sunday afternoon. However, they sat us together on a cramped circular table. This was about my 10th time eating at this location, and our friends well over 20 times over the year. We are all additionally local business owners and in the past have rented out entire rooms. Please read on.. I noticed after finishing our salad plates and waiting for them to be picked up, that there was no room for the meat plates. In fact, one piece of meat was carved over my friend’s meat plate to serve my meat, dirtied the plate, and requested another clean plate, and my request was ignored. After waiting for 5 minutes for a salad plate, in order to be served meat, I discarded one of my dirty plates onto the vacant table behind me, my friend walked to the salad bar in order to obtain a clean meat plate. It gets more interesting.. Throughout the meal, we were required to continue discarding our dirty plates on the table behind us. As a table, even after extensive waiting, and waiting, we were only served with the option of half of the menu. We were not provided with an opportunity to be served (pork ribs, beef ribs, sausage, chicken wings, lamb leg, pineapple, or cheese), nor were we asked what else could be brought to us). There were times when literally the servers would go into the back and disappear for up to 10 minutes at a time while we waited to eat. A meat carver splattered the juice from the meat when carving all over my wife’s shirt and likely ruined her shirt, and then acknowledged he did it with NO apologies. Our friend at the table received the most deplorable service. It took her longer to consume her salad and once complete put up her card green, and a few others of us did too. We told the server that she had NOT been served meat yet and the server ignored her empty plate literally skipping her to serve me, then I redirected her to serve our friend, the server then served her and it happened to be the last bit of meat on the sword. Next, another came back to serve her and only came to her with two other meat choices. She was provided with only 3 choices for her entire meal. Poor thing, when the strawberry frozen dessert came, the server accidentally dropped her entire strawberry dessert into her nice homemade purse which ruined it of course. She was apologetic. But the problem was that instead of the restaurant providing maybe some money refunded or even only one dessert refunded (after she waited 10 minutes for them to make her another one), the restaurant actually charged our table for one extra dessert. When the spill event happened, my spoon fell off of the table onto the floor, I picked it up and kindly asked for a clean spoon so that I could eat my dessert, while observing servers in the center of the restaurant conversing together, We had two older children at the table with us and four females in total and the service towards females and children was far worse than towards the males. However, the entire meal went by and only one time was one person offered a refill on a drink. Generally, females and children go first as it is the year 2023. At the end of the meal, my wife was working on paying the bill, and literally, the female server grabbed it out of her hand to hand it to a male friend sitting across from her. It was like a yank out of her hand. He just handed it back to her. In the aftermath, the meal had repercussions. The food was subpar and very salty. My wife, daughter, and I all had lower tummy problems within a couple to few hours after eating. My wife and I were up all night long with digestive issues, and my daughter with a pre-existing autoimmune disorder could not make it to school today because of extreme nausea in which she required medication to help relieve her symptoms. My wife had swollen intestines and we think it could be from excessive MSG. We kept being served the outer portions of the meats without consideration where it would be excessively seasoned. My daughter asked for medium and they served her bloody rare. And this restaurant $$$$ forced us to pay gratuity. In this instance, we should have received a partial or full refund, not being charged more. Truly inexcusable service. Our restaurant experience was inexcusable.

We typically go to Chama Gaucha but it is more expensive and there is always a multi hour wait if you do not have a reservation. We came here today after hearing about it. The service is outstanding and the food options outstanding! Definitely our new favorite place for a family dinner! Highly recommend it.

If you're familiar with a Brazilian Steakhouse, this restaurant offers you a more affordable alternative. Although the salad bar is half the size to similar restaurants in the area, the quality of the meat, which is the main reason you're there, is great! We were greeted with a basket of warm cheese bread and the classic fried plantains, smashed potatoes and polenta. The salad bar was small but with a good selection of vegetables. The service was great and we were served promptly with our requests of Picahna, bacon wrapped filet and leg of lamb among other cuts like top sirloin, bottom sirloin as well as chicken and lamb chops. Definitely coming back. The place is nicely decorated and it has plenty of rooms for group dinners.

My wife and daughter had a special evening dining at Galpao Gaucho last night. They had a wonderful time and came home raving about the food and the service. They definitely felt pampered and well taken care of.

FOOD was average. All the meats tasted pretty much the same, and we had to ask for lamb, even though it was on the menu as one of the standard offers. They also told us there was salmon available, but it was never offered (not a problem, we didn't want it, I suppose we could have asked if we had wanted it). All beef items were rare to medium rare, even though they asked how we wanted it. Why ask is there's only one option available? SERVICE was good, other than having to wait far too long for the first drinks - they came long after the salad, we are accustomed to getting drinks before we start to eat at all. PRICE was VERY expensive for the quality of the food. $39.50 per person, and did not include dessert. When the dessert menu was offered without prices, we assumed it was included, since drink prices were printed on the drink menu. No such luck -an additional $8.50 for a mediocre dessert.

My family of six dined here to celebrate our son-in-law's birthday. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Once seated the waiter took our drink orders and explained how the Brazilian rotisserie service works. Our meal started with an all you can eat salad bar (don't fill up on this course, allow room for the meat entrees). The seafood, poultry, beef, pork and lamb offerings were outstanding. The vegetables were served family style and complimented all entrees. The waiters continue to offer entrée skewers until you turn over the red/green pog indicating you are finished. The price is not cheap but is well worth the cost.

Really good drinks. I had a couple caipirinhas and they were all really good! The meat is so flavorful. And they have Salmon that comes out along with the other meats. Get the sauce they offer you with the Salmon, its good. The restaurant is JUST like the other one a little further up the highway, but the price is lower. Staff members are all really nice and helpful and patient. I will be going back here again soon.

Tried this place out because a friend of mine raved about it. I've been to Chama Gaucha previously and figured since a friend recommended it I'd give it a try. Upon entering the establishment I quickly realized that this was not in the same class as Chama Gaucha. It's not as classy. The waiter did not pull out our chairs before we sat down, it was much smaller inside and the salad bar was maybe half the size if not smaller than Chama Gaucha. The price per person was just as expensive though....if you have the choice go to Chama Gaucha instead. Service, atmosphere, and quality of food is a lot better there.

Have tried many Brazilian restaurants in Houston and San Antonio, Texas. Galpao Gaucho is simply wonderful. In my opinion, although all offer similar selections, Galpao Gaucho is more flavorful for all varieties of meats. You will need a reservation.

The food was awful we had to fight the gnats the drinks were full of sugar like ghetto kook aide the pineapple was a plus we loved it and the ribeye was good also but not amazing

We went with a group of 18 for lunch during a weekday. I had been to similar restaurants but not this one prior to this visit. The service was friendly and efficient - they made sure that everyone at our table got the exact type of meat and refills that they wanted. The salad bar was great and very clean. I could have probably just eaten this as my meal and been happy. Most of us had desserts including the chocolate lava cake, the creme brulee, cheesecake, etc. all of them were good.

Excellence in every way. Friendly and smiling staff, Manager and waiters making sure you were satisfied, all in the details. Food was perfect! Best flavors I've tasted. Must visit!!!

Had dinner yesterday for the 1st time. The food and service was great; with special mention tender well seasoned spicy picanha, lamb chops and the best black beans and papaya dessert. For a Brazilian Steakhouse, the price was less than most, but quality is equal. Highly recommend and I will return.

Let me start by saying that this is probably one of the best meals and experiences I have ever had ( or at least in a long time). It was pretty expensive for a family of three with drinks and dessert, but we all agreed that it was totally worth it. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was just so good! I will say the meat was pretty salty to me but most would say it was seasoned perfectly. The tres leche cake is highly recommended.

Our family discovered this little gem while visiting from Dallas. We stopped in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at the outstanding food and service. Best Brazilian steakhouse to date, and we have dined at some of the big chains.

Family decided to try out Galpao since had tried the other Brazilian steak houses and it was very good and the price was reasonable compare to the other steakhouses, food was great service was good nice atmosphere. The only issue I had was the waiter told me that he would bring me some fries for my 1yr old since she couldn't eat steak and I never got them but it's not a deal breaker for going again.

I had a crummy week and decided to take my girls on a date. They love Brazilian steakhouse's, so my husband suggested we try this place. We have previously tried Texas de Brazil and Chama Gaucha (look on those sites for their reviews). I was not impressed this place. Only 1 server went out of his way to do his job. I kept waiting for refills on my drink, then waiting on a specific meat. When they actually showed up with the meat I was waiting on, which was lamb chops, they had one. I told the guy to give it to my daughter and waited again. We finally figured out that the only way to get the dirty plates picked up were to put them in a corner all in my husbands side if not they would just leave them there, overall lacking in flavor and not impressed with service. You have a nearby option for a bit more go there.

I've been to this restaurant 3 times now and it has always been nice. The salad bar is very good and so are the side dishes (polenta, mashed potatoes, and fried bananas). The meats are fresh and varied and they always ask what cuts we would like or if we have any special requests. The meats are good, they have a variety of lamb, filet mignon, pork and beef ribs, chicken, salmon, sirloin, ribeye, and more. The waiters are so nice, that I almost feel bad. They help you with your chair, bring you new clean plates whenever you want to switch, always ask what else they can do for you. They are not worried about "whose table it is", but they all want to please the customer. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, everyone is super friendly.

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary here last night and we had a fabulous time! Our waiter, Benjamin, was one of the best servers I've ever encountered. He was super attentive without "hovering", as my husband put it. At the end of the night, he ended up comping our dessert and giving us 10% off the whole meal...just because he said we were "really nice". We had a coupon, but didn't use it because he was so generous and sweet. The food was incredible, just like last time. I love the atmosphere and pretty much everything about this restaurant. It was such a lovely night!

We went there for my birthday. It was a very special time. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The salad bar was absolutely delicious followed by the wonderful assortment of meats. It was a wonderful time! Amiga Debbie

The avalanche of meats at these joints make one appreciate the truly great cuts one gets at a classy steak house. Excellent service at this outpost of meat excess. Most of the meat options were mediocre - tough or fatty or... The salad bar was the star. Everything very fresh. Appealing presentation. Made an effort not to overindulge here ... but failed. Huge flan. Nice slice of cheesecake. The Brazilian coffee candy on the way out is incredible. Grab a couple of pieces.

I've been to this restaurant couple of times. Service is first class and food is great! Price is right too cheaper than the other Brazilian Steakhouse in town. Will be back again soon.

Excellent service very good selection of wines the food was very good and the gauchos kept coming with meats we will definitely return!!!!

Very good option for meat lovers, the traditional gaucho style of delivering food to the table is an experience and if you add good quality meat, a great parrillero and a knowledgeable waiter, the result is guaranteed.

Had never been to restaurant but heard good things. Went without reservations and they treated us like royalty! The food was wonderful and if our card was turned over to get more - they were right there. Our drinks ran out, someone was there to refill! Amazing. One of the staff that was wonderful to us was Jordan! What a guy and what service! Loved it and will definitely go back!

The salad bar is enough to fill you up but makes ure you save room for the steak and meat. Food is good and you can keep eating and eating and eating. Price is definitely cheaper at lunchtime and the've always been very accommodating to us bringing in our son who is 4 with autism.

I've been coming here for special occasions since I was young. Since I was younger the this place feels downgraded, not just because the music now plays something you'd hear at a fast food restaurant. The staff tend to stay in a specific area and rarely will be around you if you're outside that area. Overall I feel if this place didn't have such memories for me I'd rate it lower.

This is the Best Brazilian Steakhouse I have been to- and I have been to ones in MiamI, Chicago area and here. When one downtown ended their valet parking, I was looking for another Brazilian Steakhouse with easier parking. After googling I found Galpao gaucho- Besides that I had not heard of it before which is a shame because it is so good. The service was impeccable.- Like pull out the chair-napkin in your lap for you kind of service. Anyone that was serving tended to me if they saw I needed something. They refreshed my sides when they thought they had gotten cold- i did not even ask- classy. The market bar/salad table is smaller than other places, but hey- aren't you really there for the meat? Everything on the salad bar looked wonderful and I tried many items and they were delicious. Other places that have bigger salad areas to keep you from eating too much meat might have more items, but the salad bar at Galpao Gaucho was super appetizing. Quality over quantity, I say. Cost wise- it is a better deal than the ones down town, especially for lunch, I must say I signed up for the email club- so I had a $10 voucher to try it out- So Dinner was only $19.50!! Even with out a coupon, $29.50 for a weekday dinner is a steal. I only do Chicken and Pork, but there were also plenty of Beef options and I was asked if i wanted Salmon, so something for everyone. The meat that I did eat here was so flavorful- way better than any other Brazilian place I have eaten. I just could not get over how yummy the meat was- I focused on: Pork tenderloin with Parm cheese- awesome Chicken legs marinated in cognac and beer- Wish I had had room for more they were so good. Sausage tasty and bacon wrapped chicken breast was really good too. You should definitely try this place!

This was our first time to eat at the new location. The quality and flavor is even better than the old location!! Bottom Sirloin was our favorite cut. Absolutely delicious!! Perfect seasoning and perfect cook.

The quality of every piece of meat surpassed even the most fancy steakhouses- and we have definitely been to fancy. The service and atmosphere are terrific- it may be $40/person but the amount of food, quality, and everything else definitely make up for it- you'll most happily pay your bill. If you do have a child under six, just inform your waiter before hand in order to avoid any confusion. If you haven't been to a Brazilian steakhouse before- you have a little card at your placemat, and when you flip it to "go", all the servers come by to you offering amazing beautifully cooked meats, and cut it off for you right there. All you can eat gourmet steaks, brought individually to you, and an all you can eat salad bar, and gourmet sides brought to the table. So. Much. Awesome. We will definitely be back!!

The food was great! They're so attentive. Whenever we asked for a certain type of meat, they were Johnny on the spot! Prime rib was great! I was waiting for their white rice and when it was done, they brought me my own portion. I can't say enough good things about them.

Stopped by for lunch with the family. Restaurant was very clean, staff was very attentive, prompt, and friendly. The salad bar was very well sorted and the different type of meats were great! All of the meats were seasoned just right, and were of good quality. The dessert was the best we've had in a good while which was creme brûlée. Definitely will return when in the area.

I love this restaurant! Excellent service, ambiance, all the meat you care to eat, adequate salad bar, excellent drinks! They offer happy hour on the weekdays at the bar and better prices than other churrasquerias aka Brazilian steak house.

Great lunch with wife, very reasonable, salad bar not as good as others in town but meats just as good if not better. Had 1$ MIMOSAS which topped off a great meal, definitely stays on the list.

Pricey! Make sure you've saved up for a meal here. The servers are almost annoying how attentive they are, but it's not bad. The food was wonderful. Make sure you show up with an appetite. You can get your money's worth if you show up hungry. It's a pretty fancy looking place, but jeans and a t-shirt is fine. You don't need to dress up unless you just want to. There were some people in formal wear while we were there.

The staff was friendly and efficient. The meat runners were efficient and the food was well prepared. The lamb was melt in your mouth and the salmon was hands down the best I have every had. You must eat here if you have the chance.

Just our second time here but this is by far our favorite of this type of cuisine. Very attentive and courteous staff, extensive and fresh salad bar, and superb beef. Nothing disappointed us. We will be back.

customer service is excellent; servers are friendly and accommodating; food is scrumptious; ambiance is great.....

This Brazilian steakhouse is smaller and more intimate than others, but that adds to its attraction. The salad bar is smaller but decent. Most of the meats are on par with the larger places, with the filet being the highlight. The bar is what makes the place unique. Order one of the meats as an appetizer along with the salad bar, and you won’t leave as miserably stuffed as is usually the case at the larger alternatives.

I love this place. I eat here 3-4 times a month and never get tired of the food. I truly enjoy all of the meat selections except what I call "fillers"- sausage, wings, and the salmon. I also do not partake of the salad bar or side dishes they bring to the table. Strictly the meat. After I have gorged myself I order the flan which is the best I have had anywhere and a cappuccino. I prefer Galpoa Guacho to Chama Guacho or Fogo de Chao.

smaller than the other 3 Brazilian steakhouses, but they have 2 extra meats , one is salmon with passion fruit sauce and the spicy picano (spelling). The salad bar is very small but it had exactly what I wanted. Good service and the food was wonderful

drove by this place and decided to check it out since we were already going to a spades steak house. Very nice cosy restaurant, food was great. same quaLITY level as other brazilian stake house in the area. Everyone was very attentive and corteus. waiters keep ckechink and asking if everythong was ok or if we needed anything in particular. Will definitely come back. lunch is a bit cheaper than other similar places but quality is at same high level. they also have a good salad bar.

I dined here with a friend during Culinaria (Restaurant Week). The salad bar was awesome!! The problem I had was, when the servers came around with the steak, I would ask for a piece other than the outside as it was over cooked and tough on the outside layer. Every time they served me the outer layer (3 times). I did mention it to one of the servers so they gave me a 15% discount. So I paid 32 plus tip for the salad bar and a chicken leg. I couldn’t eat the steak. Probably won’t dine here again.

We had a great family dinner there, all the different kind of meats are awesome and all the staff very friendly and attentive. thank you guys we'll be back soon

My husband and I went for lunch during the week and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. The food was pretty good and the Creme Brûlée was fantastic! A bit pricey for lunch compared to other Brazilian Steakhouses in town but nice overall.

This locally owned, smaller version of the large Brazilian meat overkills, was a pleasant surprise. The meats were perfectly prepared and the variety was almost overwhelming, but since we controlled the choices and the amounts, we walked away satisfied rather than stuffed. The salad bar, the sides and the desserts added to the experience. The flan is a must. I liked the choice of Malbecs and Cab's to match the food. The service was superb. Having a Brazilian waiter was a nice touch. Finally, the price makes this place a bargain. Will be back.

The atmosphere is nice...small, quiet, cozy. The food was horrible, especially the ribs...I was sick for two days.

This place was awesome all around. Price-wise it's above average but well worth it. You shouldn't be disappointed

The food has many courses. The selection is great. Great selections in all meat varieties. The staff was very accommodating. Overall a good experience

I am not a huge meat person, but the meat was OK. The sides and the salad bar were really great. They are different than your usual sides and salad. Lots of choices. Service was good and the bar had a good selection.

This was the second time we've eaten as a family of four at Galpao Gaucho and we love it! The salad bar is out of this world! You could just eat from that and be satisfied, but then you'd miss out on their wonderful skewered meats brought right to your table. For dessert we had the molten chocolate cake with ice cream, which they wrote Happy Birthday on the plate for my daughter. For an after dinner drink for the adults, you need to try the Carajillo. Very nice presentation at the table and quit delicious too. We will be return customers!!!

Had all-you-can-eat buffet with two family members, total cost for three was $340. The beef and chicken entrees brought to the table were bland and overcooked. The filet wrapped in bacon was grey, no pink at all, inedible. The chicken wrapped in bacon was so overcooked it had the texture of sand. Several other cuts of meat were brought to the table, all were top sirloin, no rib eye, no flank, no ribs until after we had paid our bill and were ready to leave, no brisket. The picanha was so overcooked it tasted like well done top sirloin. I specifically asked for medium rare spicy picanha, got well done bland inedible top sirloin again, asked again for medium rare, got rare/blue, which was actually pretty good. I got tired of asking. Left about a pound of uneaten well done top sirloin on my plate. I have no idea how this utter fail of a kitchen got a 4.3 average; I suspect deception. Otherwise, the service was amazing, the decor was tasteful and subdued, the noise level in the restaurant was very low, with high ceilings, no music, and a decent amount of distance between tables. Conversation was easy and stress-free. Also, the salad bar was excellent, with many well made flavorful salads, and an impressive balsamic vinaigrette. Dessert was not included in the buffet, generally ran $10 - $15 extra. I suspect that they were re-heating or re-firing the meat. I will never go there again.

I took my wife to this restaurant for her birthday. We had a great time. The salad bar is awesome. The meat is divine.

My wife and I chose this place for our anniversary dinner. I had a reservation so we were seated very quickly. My wife ordered a glass of wine and I ordered the Brazilian lemonade. The Brazilian lemonade is a very refreshing beverage not too sweet not too tart that goes well with your meal. We helped ourselves to the salad bar and shortly after the meats started coming around. If you like beef you are in heaven. The meat was prepared well and pretty much medium to medium rare. I did have a few cuts of pork and chicken as well. The lamb practically melted in my mouth. The sides were all very good but my personal favorite was the bananas. I finished the first portion and without asking our server said he would bring out more. We will be back soon for more!

For locals in San Antonio, Chama Gaucha is more popular with more choices of meats and salad bar. But for those like me who like mostly sirloin, ribeye and tenderlon and lamb, it's a more cost effective alternative. Service wise they are just as attentive and responsive as their competitor.

First timers at this Brazilian steakhouse. Mike was our waiter, he informed us of all the possibilities on the menu. This place is absolutely awesome. The food, the staff, the facility. You can tell when you walk into this restaurant that this staff goes far and beyond the norm. Everything was fit for a king and queen. If you love to eat this is the place for you. Beef, pork, lamb, salmon, tried them all and absolutely wonderful. Remember to save room for dessert. We recommend the FLAN, it was so authentic. Bon appétit.

Had dinner here tonight. The salad bar was excellent. The selection of meats was fantastic. All types, chicken, sausage, beef, lamb, all cooked at varying temperatures to satisfy everyone's tastes. Great servers, they always kept your plates full if you let them.

We had eaten at all the other Brazilian steakhouses of this style in San Antonio except this one so we had to give it a try, but I doubt we will return. Our service was certainly not the issue, as we were visited often. The salad bar is good but not as good as their competitors, at least not on this Friday night. My wife usually finds these places to have too much salt on the meat for her taste, and this was the case here, but to their credit, when she said something, they went and got something cooked she said was not salty to her. Overall though, all the meat we had, except the chicken, was rather tough. To the point that I left the place with my teeth hurting. The staff is perceptive to the point where they sent a manager over and then they gave us a complimentary flan, even though we registered no complaint. A for effort, but a C for the kitchen.

The food here was exemplary, but what really sets this place apart is the waitstaff. Impeccably dressed, professional and trained, they were on top of everything- from dirty plates to drink orders to meat requests. The leg of lamb was outstanding and the house specialties were excellent as well. The salad bar is well stocked without being overwhelming. I greatly appreciated the meat portion sizes - they served larger portions to my husband and smaller portions for me so I could taste a little of everything and not waste a bite, without being asked. I topped off my meal with the flan, which was the best flan I've ever had. My husband and I were immensely pleased with the experience and will be going back.

all of the food was top notch all of the different kinds of meat were all delish. My parents and my son also tried the salmon and it was also great the pork also great. We ate nto our heart content and then some. Make sure when you put your card to green they will flock to your table till you flip over.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. My family and I have been to the other three Brazilian steakhouses around town so this is what my experience at this location was based on. We had a reservation and were seated at an appropriate time. The salad bar was okay in comparison to others. I do believe that the selection was a bit limited. The servers came around once in a while to check in on our drinks. My family and I favor the rack of lamb, however this only came by our table once! This was the most disappointing part especially because it’s my husband favorite and one of the main reasons I treated him to this type of restaurant on Father’s Day. Overall, it was just okay. I think everyone should try it at least once, however I do not think I will be taking my family to this establishment again.

Went here on a Friday night surprised that it wasn't super busy. It doesn't have as much of a open concept as Chama or the others so when there are people at every table and the waiters are up and moving people can bump into each other. The food was great. I like that they also have fish options. The house specialty, the garlic beef and lamb chops were my favorite. The seasoning was flavorful but wasn't as salty as other brazlian steakhouses I've visited which I liked very much. It was just enough to really taste well. The staff and service was very good. The salad bar was nice but I noticed there were one or two nats flying around. Overall the restaurant was clean. We would dine here again.

It was our first Brazilian steak house experience. We decided to go on the weekend lunch so the price would be a little less. Glad we did because it was also $1 mimosa day! Lucky me! I was able to try new flavors that I had never had, mango and watermelon! The salad bar was beautiful but I came here for the meat. Customer service here is over the top. Everyone is here to help and the meat just keeps on coming! My daughter really liked the skirt steak so we just asked that they come back out with that and they dos promptly. I think we went through 4 trays of potatoes never asking for more, they could just see we loved them! I personally liked the ribeye and wish I had not tried the lamb. I was feeling adventurous, I just hate wasting food. We also ordered two desserts Molten and Tres leche cake. Molten and the meat won my heart and I do look forward going back here one day.

One word description would be FRESH. Absolute Quality. In addition to divine food, the staff was great, The Manager was attentive to not only the service; but was actively engaging her customers. They exceeded my expectations.

Smaller than their competitor, providing a cozy setting for a romantic meal or quiet enough for a business meeting. The salmon is outstanding among all of the selections. All of the selections were very tasty and the service was extraordinary. I hosted a dinner for 12 and got rave reviews from all of the attendees.

My friends and I take pride in finding delicious Brazilian steakhouses to frequent. We enjoy people bringing meat to us fresh off the grill as long as we want it. This place was not a disappointment. We walked in, dressed like we just finished a dry wall job, and they all greeted us excitedly and found us a table. They each took care of our drinks, napkins and culinary wants as if it were the most important thing in the world! My friend, who is a bit of a harsh critic, proclaimed that this was the best service he had ever had at a Brazilian steakhouse. And he’s been to many. As have I! The food was amazing with lamb, ribeye, filet minion and more. The salad bar boasted potatoes salad that stood alone above any other It even came with fresh, crispy, strips of bacon to crumble in it or eat by themselves. The service was impeccable. We had a wager as to who could get their glass to the bottom before the wait staff came over. No one made it. At half mast, the refill was imminent. To finish our meal, I had the flan and black coffee. Can’t say enough about how marvelous this flan was. It was the perfect cap to the most excellent night out with friends. Don’t skip this place. We will be back.

Love this restaurant! The owner and staff are very attentive and give new, great recommendations for us to try each time we visit. Less expensive than the other options in town, and our favorite by far! Come hungry!

We started going to Galpao Gaucho when they were in their initial and much smaller location. Even then the service and quality was quite good and the price more reasonable than other Brazilian Steakhouses in the area. They've since moved to their current and larger/fancier location and the price point continues to be lower without sacrificing the quality. We come here frequently and really enjoy it.

Start with the incredible building with subtle decor and lighting. Great and knowledgeable servers. Then through in amazingly delicious food that was fresh and great quality. So good in fact I have gone 2 days in a row.

The one positive to me was that you get a sampling of a lot of different meat. Rib eye, lamb chops, top sirloin, etc. The problem I have is for the price I can eat at a steakhouse with much higher quality grades of meat, and better chefs. The meat is ok but not tops. The salmon was awful. Not fresh. If you know fresh seafood, avoid the salmon. Service was good, and sides and desserts are well made. I can get full with high quality meat for less money. I won’t be back.

After the 18 Oaks fiasco, my mother suggested going there, she and my grand mother had dined once before..... The best idea my mom could have... we called to make sure they were open (15:00 in San Antonio on a Sunday, no grantees)... very polite from the beginning, and IT WAS OPEN. arrived there, were welcomed like VIP, both the restaurant manager and the Maitre'd welcomed us and came to our table, offering traditional Brazilian sides...to accompany our meal. The cold salad bar was fresh, well served and delicious, by the time we sat down our lovely waitress came to explain that the paper token we had on the table had two sides, on the green was GO and on the red STOP... every time we turned our token to green, a flow of waiters with all kinds of meat cuts, grilled to perfection, to the taste of every one of us (mom and grandma medium, my sister well done and mine... medium rare). Finally, they brought grandma a cheesecake with

We had the best reception here, the staff was extremely attentive to your needs. We had a small party of 20 close family members and our kiddos. Service was awesome, asking for special needs for the kiddos from kid friendly menu items to taking the time with our kids who sometimes don't know what they would like to drink. The cups where never empty. Plates where always full and the servers where in full force. The meat was delicious and the salad bar is plentiful with delicious sides along with the fried plantains, bananas and mashed potatoes. I plan on coming back for future occasion

We've visited other Brazilian steakhouse restaurants in San Antonio and by far this is the best. We have a great experience every time we visit. Great meat cuts and salad bar choices. The limeade is just right. Great ambience and never crowded. Definitely do recommend.

The food at Galpao Gaucho is amazing for the price & quality. If this is your first time make sure you skip breakfast. The endless carvings of meat your heart desires will keep coming until you flip your card they give you when you sit down green means "keep it coming" & red means "no mas". They serve over 15 types of meats that come on a skewer sizzling hot. They also serve salmon that their competitor doesn't. Included are many side dishes starting with mash potatoes, roasted peppers, cheese rolls & my favorite palenta. Many desserts to chose from if you have a sweet tooth. Personally their Brazilian lemonade is plenty sweet & my favorite! Their salad bar is amazing as well if your are on a special diet. The ambiance is beautiful & romantic for that perfect occasion. They have a very nice outdoor patio as well. Plan your visit soon & you won't be disappointed!
Great Service - Good Food - Limited Salad Bar
The place Isn't really fancy or high end looking but where it lacks they compensate with a great selection of meats - great flavor and lots of options. What I found to be somewhat limited is the salad bar don't get me wrong it is good but offers just the really basic stuff good enough so you don't end up filling up in greens. Desserts are really a surprise the traditional Papaya Cremè is really big for 4 grown-ups not too sweet and flavorful. Mon - Thrus has better dinner pricing so a good option to go for a hearty meal full of protein.
