Food was great and the prices are right! Fun fun fun while you wait for your food! Great service and great workers with great attitudes!

Gamer Paradise

By Libby L |

I started going to Gameworks back when it first opened, what seems like a million years ago. My mom used to drop us off as teenagers on unlimited play nights and we would just play House of the Dead for hours. It's too noisy now. Maybe that's just me getting older, but the atmosphere isn't entirely safe either. The crowd skews a bit more rough than I would anticipate a gaming crowd, and the food quality isn't the same. I'm nostalgic for the late 90s.

Bachelor party perfection!

By vxTotalChaosXv |

I went here for my bachelor party with about six of my friends and had a great time. The bartenders were a blast, the drinks were fairly priced for downtown Seattle and the games were really fun. Have been going here since I was young and it seems like every time I go it gets even better. Great for family functions, business events and general hanging out. I try to visit Gameworks every time I visit Seattle.

Gameworks is Great

By Amandeep_Sethi |

Had lots of fun as part of a team activity here in January. Lots of drinks, good food and games for all :)

fun time

By BoiseID999 |

kids have a blast and adults can play many of the games too. If you have an old card be sure to use it and save 2 bucks on a new one.

Slow Service, okay food

By DARREN B |

Given the fact that it was PAX Expo weekend and downtown was really busy, we were expecting busy restaurants near the convention center. But Gameworks seemed to have enough wait staff, but kitchen was really slow with the orders. Rarely saw waiter, and never did get a refill on my drink. Had a friend join us after we ordered, and they placed an order. Our food came first, but our friends food never came (order was lost). So he cancelled his order as we already had finished ours.

Its more of an arcade than a resteraunt.

By Neven |

If you know it's an arcade going in, it's alot more fun. The food when i tried it was decent, but the whole building is focused on the 2 story arcade.

For what I wanted good

By Robert S |

Not where I would go out to dinner but as a place to relax when my grandkids played games it was excellent . We had soft seats by the window a very attentive bartender. It worked for us.

Great family fun or adult fun!

By Seton Pedersen |

Didn't eat here so can't rate the food, but it is fun for the whole family an hey, they serve adult beverages if you are walking to hotel! We can't wait to go back.

cheap and cheerful

By Debby W |

Not a gourmet restaurant but great for a quick beer and a pizza. Staff friendly and welcoming, excellent value for money.

so much to do

By karen h |

for a sports bar, arcade, multiplayer game establishment the food was what you would expect: wings, nachos, burgers. it was fresh and tasty. there was a slight problem with one of the dishes and the server took care of it promptly. I'm a single parent with a teenage son; it's important to include entertainment for everyone on the trip. we had a good time, enjoyed ourselves and will definitely go back the next time in Seattle.

Not Our Kinda Place – Sorry

By collavfc |

We’d called in here for a quick drink before going to Il Fornaio a couple of blocks away. The first impression wasn’t the best. It is a wide open space with what seemed like hundreds of games machines at the back of the bar and a few ‘well oiled’ locals hanging around the bar. We sat close to the front window and door. Four young men opposite were finishing off and had a few too many, although they were in good form and no issue to us. The bar customers changed in the short time we were there. The people who’d appear to have been drinking were migrating out and a few noisier groups were coming in. As I stated with the heading, it isn’t my type of comfortable bar with friendly locals.

Great time!

By Colin R |

Friendly bar staff, Fun evening with friends! The drinks were great and the games were a blast! Great place to go late evening in Seattle!

Great Stop

By Ginny60 |

The food and wine was excellent. The service people friendly, talkative and attentive. The area was set up for privacy if one wanted or a group could visit and hear each other.

Fun place to go...

By Denise D |

I am a sort of kid at heart and when I need my fix for some big screen gaming, I love to go here. Lots of fun old and new games and the food isn't half bad. The garlic pizza is pretty good, if u like games this is a good place to make a stop at in Seattle...

Fun!

By buckley_girl98 |

Took my daughter and her friends here for her 14th birthday party. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. It was better than I expected. We paid for a one hour arcade game play card which I could have gone without. You can only play the arcade type games with these types of cards. It does not work on the games that spit out tickets which can be turned in for prizes. So, if you want to play the games that give tickets, I suggest buying the cards that ha e game play credits instead of a timed one. Be weary of the tickets too. I noticed that a few of the machines did not give out as many tickets as they were supposed to, or they didn't give them to you at all. However, we did have a great time. There are hundreds of games to choose from to keep you busy for hours. Our server in the restaurant was as sweet as can be and the rest of the staff was friendly. There is a pretty decent sized bar there and you are allowed to walk around with your drinks. There are bistro tables near every game so you can set your stuff down, which was nice and convenient. The bathroom has a lock code, so they are nice and secure. We will go back soon!

Fun and fast

By Jennifer Z |

I had a philly cheese sandwich with kettle chips and it was fresh and tasty. My server Jordan did a nice job. My food arrived hot and fast. The Sopranos pinball after my lunch was fantastic too!

Bad Service, Expensive Games, Decent with Coupon

By Audrey L |

We were not sure how things worked here as we were visiting from out of town. Their website said that you get $10 towards a game card if you signed up for the email, but on site they wanted us to sign up for an app that wanted our credit card info - no thank you. There was only one person working the counter and they asked us to step aside while we tried to figure out the app and then served a group of 20+ kids. We waited on the side for 20 minutes before we got helped. The games that give tickets are a rip off. You get 40 points for $20 and the cheapest game is 2 points (some of them are 11 points to play). The arcade games are not much better, but if you get a card with unlimited play it might be worth it. The one saving grace was that they had good beer.

Good place for kids

By lmilley |

This was a final get together after our convention. It would be a great place for kids and young adults. Food and drinks were so so.

Near the Sheraton Hotel

By NYMINUTE09 |

I visited Gameworks for happy hour because it was across the street from the Sheraton Seattle Hotel where I was staying. The wait staff was nice and I only stayed for an hour to enjoy a beer and half price aps during happy hour.

Review it for what it is

By Jeremy E |

It's an arcade. To review it for the food is kind of silly. Game selection is fairly solid. They have Ferrari 355 Challenge, score.

Fun but a little spendy

By Heather W |

The drinks are cheap if you go during happy hour. The games are a little spendy but fun. Their are two floors of games. Fun for adults and kids. We usually go during happy hour. Get some drinks and appetizers, then head off to play games. Always a fun night out.

Fun games, but bad staff service the first day.

By Princess L |

Went for DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for some fun and exercise with my girlfriend. It wasn't all that with the staff service because the guy took forever to give our game card to us and we could have played some DDR in the mean time. Two random guys gave me their left over less than 20 credits before they left the games. We had just come back from an anime convention, so they probably gave it to whoever cosplayer they liked best, I don't know, but it was fun playing DDR nonetheless!! Although it is really expensive compared to my hometown.

What a Dump!

By ketchifoodie |

Place is dirty and the staff is the worst I have seen in a long time! Waited 39minutes to order and food was cold. Manager was worthless! No wonder why it was so slow on a playoff Sunday!

Overpriced and terrible service

By mtheobald |

We were able to get a table right away. The waiter took our order quickly. 40 mins go by and our food finally came out. Portions were very small and overpriced. Our waiter who only had two other tables never checked in on us. Had to ask someone else to get us napkins and silverware. When we got our check took 15 mins to cash us out. Will not be back and didn’t stay to play games

Bit dirty but was a fun time.

By StripesMcGee |

Bar was quite swamped due to being understaffed. Tables were not cleared off although patrons were up and gone. Games were all a little "gunky". BUT overall we all had a good time & would return.

Late night

By Manuel P |

Fun place, multi level with multiple bars and games galore like the oldies, pac man, etc. Service unbelievably slow. Arrived @ 10:30 pm had to wait to place our food order from the dinner menu. He didn't get back to us till 11:12pm, which we found out that you can't get the food off dinner menu, it ends @11. We had to order off late night menu... primarily small Pizzas.

Cleaning is not at the top of the list for this place

By mrvideosawyer |

I took my grandson to this "place" it was filthy, everywhere you looked there was food crumbs leftovers (look in the corners), everything in this "place" was sticky. Some games were so old that the screens were dark and hard to play. Our waiter in restaurant was nice enough, but being a waiter is not a career choice he should have made. Food and no plates or silverware, he just dropped the ball (you were not that busy) I am 66 and I could have ran circles around him. The food was way overpriced but tasted ok. This place is a health hazard and really should be shut down until a cleaning crew comes through and does a deep clean. Dust was caked on all electrical equipment which means it could find its way into food. COME ON MANAGER STOP, AND TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR OVERPRICED ESTABLISHMENT IT IS A PIGSTY.

All day play card worth it!

By foodetravlr |

We came to Gameworks and got all day play cards, it was well worth it! Play games all day and not worry about credits, yea! One drawback was that the card is not good for ticket/prize games.

Great fun

By juin143 |

My husband and I spent two evenings here when we went to Seattle. Bartenders and waiters were very friendly. Games were pricey but fun. Food was typical American food.

Thursday $10 Night Unlimited non-Ticket Special!

By Jason Park |

I went during their Thursday night special where you can play unlimited no-ticket games from 5:00 P.M. to 1:30 A.M. (approximately). I thought it was a pretty good deal, especially playing air hockey and such. The only problem I had was that a lot of their other games that required sensors (shooting) were very off and inaccurate at times. Hot tip, the best shooting games are downstairs. They have this pretty good 4D "scary" game where it measures your heart rate. The left shooter is very inaccurate and goes all over the place. Otherwise, if you're into pinball or old games like Pacman, highly recommend! Mix of the old and new!

Sunday football....

By Reddon14 |

good spot to watch Sunday football...not a great breakfast menu, but enought to keep you satisfied. Lots of TV's with Sunday Ticket..

Gameworks was the Bomb 18 years ago, but it has gone downhill

By Roberta W |

Visited next door while waiting for my film at the Regal. Gameworks used to have an exciting vibe, but now it feels like a place you could find at any mall. The service was prompt, but the plastic glass in which my beer was served did not enhance the taste. I was in the restaurant section, so you think they could have used a glass mug. Even the fries were obviously frozen ones which were flavorless. The music was more like Muzak and the entire section I was in had a "mall food court vibe."

Decent food, good service

By WorldD_TRaveler789 |

I have been to Gameworks for various functions in the past few years and have never been all that impressed, until now. I was at Gameworks again last week for lunch and to my surprise the food was pretty good. The people I was with also enjoyed their meals. Our wait staff was on the ball with refills and were in good spirits. During the workweek they have a $6.99 special for a good selection of dishes and it comes with a 30-minute game card that can be used that day or you come back at another time. I will say that we had such a large group, (and it was a work function) that we didn't get time to use our game cards, so I will be going back to play another day. If you are looking for a decent and inexpensive meal and want to play few games afterwards, this is the place for you!

Unlimited Play a good deal

By charles l |

A buddy of mine and I had a few hours to burn in the afternoon and we bought an unlimited 2 hour gaming pass. It was worth it. They have some really cool games.

Good time for kids

By Jfederici |

Place is okay. Kids had a great time and game card prices are okay. I wouldn't recommended eating here. Food is less than average. I sent food back and I was reimbursed no problem there from manager. If you want to have a drink or two, watch football and let the kids run wild it's a great place for that!

It is a fun place to spend with family

By dhany |

It is a fun place to spend with family. If your kids like “Chuck E Cheese”, you should visit this place when they grow up. There are two kinds of games. First, games which give you tickets if you win and you have to pay each time you play games like in “Chuck E Cheese”. Second, you purchase time to play games. The second option does not give you any tickets. The first option is my daughters’ favorites, because it gives you tickets which you can exchange with prizes. The second option is my favorite. I upload some photos from our visit in Feb 2018 and Aug 2017. There are many games which are not in these photos. There is also a computer station on the second floor. I am not sure how it works because I am not a gamer. Hopefully these photos help you to make your decision.

Kind of dirty

By Jenwee |

My friends and I stopped in here to play some games later in the evening before heading to our hotel. We had to wait in line for about 10 minutes to buy game cards because the automated machine was not working. The cards supposedly to not expire which is good because we did not use all of our credits. I will say I was kind of surprised at how dirty everything seemed. There were dirty glasses around the games upstairs and kind of a funky smell coming from the bathrooms (not to mention all the toilet paper on the floor leading to the bathrooms). I suspect the poor employees are understaffed and underpaid There were only 3 pinball machines and one was broken at the time. There are a few older games but nothing like they have at Dorkys in Tacoma. I guess this place is ok but I would NOT eat here. I will only go back to use up the rest of my credits or send to a friend to use. Overall I was not impressed. I never thought I would say this....but Id rather go to Dave and Busters (even if there isn't one in WA)

Had a great time with the family

By dexdar |

I'm not a video game player and didn't grow up playing arcade or video games. Despite all that I had a blast here all one day and night (Groupon) with my family (kids 6 and 8). Not something I thought I'd be doing with them, but we had such a good time, we're going back again (with another Groupon) this year.

Okay place, needs renovating both in the restaurant and the arcade/gaming areas

By GeenaG4me |

I noticed an earlier reviewer said there was a plethora of games in the arcade area - not really. There are quite a few, but not a huge amount - and the place looks old and "tired." And some of the games are really expensive to play (take a lot of tokens). Very small return on investment as far as the "prizes" you can get with the tickets you earn. Now on to the restaurant area of the place. It also looks and feels very "tired" and old. The servers were friendly but everything was slow - placing an order, getting the food, etc. We ordered fish & chips and a couple of drinks. The drinks were the best part of the meal - so that tells you that the fish & chips were definitely lacking. Not much fish at all - mostly just the breaded coating. Fries seemed kind of wet - like maybe they were from frozen and had too much water on them when cooked. Prices were so-so, but too high for the quality of the food and services received.

keep looking

By rettup |

a group of us met here for some drinks as it was close to our hotels. unfortunately you can only consume the drinks in the bar area - didn't have the abilty to bring our drinks in the game/billiard area. background music selection was good. bartender was friendly, but when we inquired about some of the beer selections, she wasn't too informative.

Play!!

By Vidar Krogh-Albertsen |

Spend some time here and really enjoy yourself. This is the place to "become a child again"

Won a speaker

By John Doe |

Went out there with their groupon deal a while ago and they had a broken ball drop game that didnt cost anything, played on it from early afternoon until closing and made it a third of the way to the xbox, ended up settling on the insignia voice activated speaker. Didnt pay anything for the trip since a friend brought me but i came out with a new speaker. cant complain.

Restaurant with a large game room.

By John B |

A good restaurant for familys or couples, plenty of games to play, took a coupon we had , so all in all I would eat there again.

Visiting Texan

By wgn |

We both had burgers and they were very good. I had the bacon, bbq cheeseburger and spouse had southwestern burger which she opined was not as good as mine.

Nice Arcade Venue

By cohoman |

This was a refreshing change of pace from our usual game playing at Dave & Busters. They have a lot of similar arcade machines, but also some different ones. My son had a good time moving from arcade to arcade racking up the "tickets" on his card. It was a Sunday afternoon and not very busy. I thought the prizes available were of higher quality than D & B's or Round 1. The number of credits for each arcade game seemed fewer than D & B's also, allowing a player to get more bang for their buck. I'd definitely bring my son back here again in the future.

Great fun for everyone.

By Kirsten P |

A plethora of games to keep everyone busy, great bar and drinks for the adults, I'm sad I didn't try their food cause their menu looked and sounded amazing. I wanna go back just to try the plablano mac n cheese I saw. I would say if you looking for some family entertainment or just want to have some fun and like games definitely swing by

Not worth the time of day.

By RStoller |

We brought our teen and pre teen children here after a Seahawks game. The children enjoyed the arcades, although you have to BUY an arcade card for $2 THEN put money on it to play the arcades. Service was horrible. We sat at a dirty table for 20 minutes, went and found a waitress, waited another ten minutes, the table was cleared but never washed off. We finally went and found a rag and did it ourselves. The orders took another 20 minutes to place and when the food came 30 minutes later the orders were all wrong. All told we were there for nearly two hours to get dinner, and it wasn't that busy. It was a good thing the kids could spend money on the arcades!

Plan to spend

By Eve G |

Took the kids in for some fun. Costs a fortune and very stingy with the tickets. Could have found better ways to spend the time and money

Ya, we're over 50, but had a great time

By ohjames |

Just do it...great drinks and entertaining games. Charge up a playing card for time and take in a couple games with your girl...

Love this place!

By TravelBuddyHeather |

Had a great time. Lots of variety of games, and plenty of space to play. The beer was good. Bathrooms were disgusting and needed a good cleaning. I notified the staff. It was a busy Saturday with lots of small children, so that could be a big cause of it.

Fun but sooooo many broken games

By Karen M |

The food was pretty good. Our server was on it for our first round of drinks but seemed to disappear after the first round. As for the games, I would say there was at least one game in each bank/strip of games that was out of order. That was disappointing as our group of 4 could never play a game together. Many broken games, cannot bring drinks on the floor, slow to get more than 1 round of drinks, making the drive into Seattle, paying for parking... Even with a Groupon, I would be hesitant to come back.

Always a fun place to visit

By SoniaV |

Be prepared to spend some moolah! This is a grownup's arcade. If you're looking for a place to take your teenager, this will be the place.

Underwhelming

By Sundermeyer |

I went for a recent event but I attended it as a solo person and did not know anyone really. The place is a 2-story arcade with bars and food that is great for events with lots of people or to take a family to. The event card could only be used on non-prize dispensing games, which limits you to about half of the games. The majority of the games are geared towards 2-players. All of this makes a solo visit awkward. The food however was excellent.

Video games and pinball

By fool4travelin |

We took the kids here to play video games and pinball. This place is getting a little tired. It's about time for a remodel. The kids enjoyed

This is a neat place

By Christina |

Its a good place to come watch a game, and the kids can play all kinds of games. The Cheeseburger was excellent! The shakes are good, just not as thick as I think they should be. But overall great place!

All day play card

By M. Hart |

My 2 teenaged sons and I spent the day together playing worth and against each other. We raced motorcycles, killed Zombies, pinball, Pacman, and some DJ game the boys really loved. All and all, great time and they also have decent food. Tip: All day card is great, but you can not use it for ticket games.

Terrible

By BootCB |

Drove over an hour just to learn they were closed for a private party from 4:30 until 8:30. There was nothing on their website stating they were closed during this time which is pretty crappy service. Pretty shocked to learn they shut down their entire place for a private party. Most places have a room you can reserve but the whole place?? Went to a movie and came back later when they reopened only because it was our son's birthday and he wanted to arcade. The place was filthy. The walls and carpet looked really old and dirty. We wanted a pizza and asked a staff member where we could order at and was told to go find the guy walking around. We went to the bar and grill area around 9:20 to be told by a waiter "you know you have a kid with you?" Um yeah....and we know all minors have to be out by 10:00. The pizza is $13 and was absolutely terrible and I'm not being picky either. The only good thing about this place is the price is reasonable for game cards. I wouldn't go back here though.

Great modern day arcade!

By Henrik S |

Took the kids here for a special treat. Came during the day and was able to take advantage of special pricing on 2 hours of game play. There is a great variety of games available to play and it's nice to not have to get change to play the games. We'll be back next time we're in town!

Nice Location

By cohoman |

Medium-sized gaming area with a nice mix of arcade games. Also has a large bar with pub food. Nice, clean place. Has your typical cheap prizes for accumulated points. It was a nice distraction for my teenage son while walking around Capitol Hill.

Kids loved it :-)

By Aveyron13 |

Popped in here as it had started raining and wanted to keep the kids amused, they loved it. You can prepay when you get in, whcih gives you a card loaded with electronic tokens, you can then swipe this to use any of the arcade machines. Each machine shows how many tokens will be used, and everytime the card is swiped that machine shows you how many tokens are left on it, and you can recharge again if need be so a very simple system that worked well for my two boys. Good array of machines to try, and certainly was a good few hours of fun......food and drink available but didn't try that so cannot comment on that side...

Terrible Food - Filthy Hole!

By liz413413 |

We were excited to go here for dinner and games. Got a coupon from restaurant.com for $3 worth $25 if buying at least $35 in food. We had to spend $35, so ordered an appetizer. We got one of our faves, which is spinich/artichoke dip and chips. Worst I have ever had!! (and this is something we order everywhere). Just disgusting. My daughter had chicken fingers and fries and I had a ceaser salad with chicken breast. The chicken fingers were more batter (like a beer batter) than chicken. My ceaser salad was so spicey hot I couldn't eat it. The chicken on top was cold. I mentioned to the waitress that I found the salad very spicey hot and couldn't eat it and she shrugged her shoulders and left! I have never had a spicey hot ceaser salad! So we still had to spend about another $4 to use the coupon, so ordered a brownie/cheesecake thing - it turned out to be bite size pieces of brownie and cheesecake that had been deepfried and then mixed in with ice cream. The brownies were burnt and the whole thing was just a bit gross. On top of that, the restaurant area just felt dirty. The floor was disgusting, tables were sticky - just not very clean. We went off to play some games- we could see 2 floors of games and I bought a $30 game card so we could win lots of tickets and get a prize. Here is the kicker - 95% of the games are strictly arcade games and don't give tickets! There is a small section that gives tickets. We couldn't play many because they were being hogged by one big group of people there. There is one wheel of fortune game that was fun, but this same group of people sat at it for a full hour and wouldn't let anyone else play it. I asked the staff if there was a time limit so others could have a turn and he just shrugged and said 'not really'. So we were feeling 'done' with this place and still had $15 worth of tokens on the card, so we just banged them off quick on games and ended up winning tons of tickets. My daughter did manage to win a really nice large stuffed bear that didn't look overly cheap and some candy, so I was happy about that. I did expect to walk out with some crappy candy and plastic dollar store toys. The games were filthy, tons were out of order, tons would let us play and not pay tickets out - and staff was non-existent to offer help. Its a filthy disgusting hole that is over run with a certain type of customer that hangs around hogging games all night. Don't waste your money! We have been to dave and busters in LA and thought this would be like that, but not even remotely close!

Spend an hour max

By Melanie T |

Came in on a Sunday 12:30 and it wasn't too crowded. They have the classic arcade games but after two or three loops around the place, it gets a little tired. I would probably spend a max of one hour here, which is more than plenty. They have a bar and pizza/snacks so I can see how families could spend half a day here but there are definitely better arcades out there. Location is convenient though.

fun

By Dede G |

We played a few games but watch out for the regulars we were told cannot play a game because someone was obsessed and not sharing! otherwise good fun for a few hours

Great game night for the fam

By Rhonda G |

We always visit Gameworks and have a great time! It can cost a fortune so be careful but no more than going to a movie or any other family activity. Close to our hotel and lots of fun

Get Your Game On

By Nathaniel M |

If you are a fan of the arcade then this is the place for you. Imagine Chucky Cheese except no mascots, way better games for teens and adults and an actual restaurant with real food. Mac & Cheese Balls!!! Yum!

good escape for the kids

By Mike M |

near our hotel, its a dave and busters type of place, two floors of video games and a bar with restaurant. FYI out non Washington staters, minors under 18 are not allowed here after 10pm. they ran me and my boy out of here at 1005pm. oh well. other then that its a fun place

Nice lunch location but...

By Ravens67 |

I needed to eat quickly before I caught my flight home so I stopped in here. They had lunch specials with good prices. The food was good and the wait staff was friendly. I ate at the bar and my only issue was that fruit flies were flying all around the bar. The bartender thought they were out due to the weather was getting cooler.

All fun

By OhAudrey |

The staff is really great here. Super helpful. They even really remember your face the next time you go in. I encountered one issue with a staff member and it was resolved on the spot with the manager. I think I will have my next birthday here, fun for adults and kids.

Lots of fun. Online gaming upstairs, better deal.

By Jon M |

Kids loved it, but really got excited when the discovered xbox one, ps4 and wii u, upstairs. $7 for an hour of play.

Lots of Fun

By ChinaGal_57 |

We went here with our daughter and her boyfriend after dinner. It is lots of fun and pretty well-priced. Not a bargain but a fun way to spend a few hours. You can also get a drink and some of the games give you tickets which you can turn in for prizes. It would be nice if they picked up used glasses a little more often but on the whole the place was pretty clean.

E-sportbar

By ResenarSverige |

A bar and some tables and booths. Very attentive service with a funny waiter. Ordinary sport bar food with wings, burgers and salad. Ordinary quality as well. Local beer on tap.

It's huge....

By 99Mikey9 |

It is what it says it is, a gaming hall. 2 floors of many different types of Video games, and activities. Seemed a little run down on my visit, with some of the gaming not functioning, but it does entertain the kids. I would have liked to have seen more classic pinball types games to possibly keep myself entertained.

About Winning Prizes...

By Roary |

My wife was shopping, so I decided to take my kids here to help pass the time. I did not eat at Gameworks, or use the e-Sports lounge. This is purely a review of the game section, or more specificallly the games that allow you to accumulate tickets for prizes. There were probably about 35 machines for ticket earning, of which, 2-3 were out-of-order. We played a variety of games where some took less then 5 seconds to play, and some others (like Plants Vs Zombies) that at least included some gaming and took a few minutes to play. I spent probably about $30 worth for the both of them to play for about an hour and earn 600 tickets. Those 600 tickets was used to buy two small toys probably worth $6 total at a retail price. They were actually very nice because the value of the toys combined were closer to 650, but they gave it to us anyways. And they still got a bonus bag of candy, so my kids were super happy. Based on reviews, I wouldn't order food here. But it was an easy way to spend an hour with the kids, and they were very happy at the end. I'm sure they'll want to go back.

fun

By Khaap |

We have been multiple times to Gameworks. Food is basic pizza and beer but coupled with video games its perfect. Lighthearted fun night out

Whole family had a ball

By dannys58 |

An arcade with Liquor, can you ask for anything more as a parent? Ha, ha! We hit this during the 3 hour card for $20! Great deal, i have never played so many video games in my life. Drinks were pricey, but worth it! We would defiantly go back!

Shabby Games

Shabby dated games - I wouldn't bother if I was you. Some of the games I can remember from when I was a kid 20+ years ago!!

Fantastic for all ages

By Luv907 |

Atmosphere was decent .... beer for adults, loud & exciting for the teens -- perfect combo for families! People watching was fun too!

Half Price Appetizers!

By jodipilot |

Gameworks is a must for children of all ages, old and young alike, who likes virtual and arcade games. It's someplace you can go alone, with a group of friends or a family to have an hour or two of fun. It has a great sports bar restaurant that serves more than just pub food. It also has half price appetizers that make it very affordable. They often have food/gaming deals that make it well worth the money.

Good food, okay drinks, meh service

By Kayla D |

The food was good enough that I went back there three times during my stay in Seattle. The first time, I ordered two drinks. The midori sour was not sour at all and the hypnotic I ordered was put in one of those large shot glasses with ice. The service wasn't too bad except that my waiter NEVER refilled or asked if I wanted a refill on my drink, even though he stopped by my table multiple times. The second night there, the food was just as good. The man serving me asked me if I needed a refill, but didn't really come around to check on me. It took a while for me to get my check. The third day, it took me quite a while to get a menu. It wasn't until I was putting my jacket back on to leave that I finally got service. The woman was nice though and the food was good and she refilled me drink, so she made up for it.

Great food, Great atmosphere

By Andrew R |

We ate here during PAX, and since that's why we were there, we definitely fit in with the crowd. Great atmosphere, and decent pub fare at a reasonable price. Had a bit of a wait for our food, but that wasn't a surprise considering the place was packed. Will definitely have to go back!

Great combination for kids and adults

By philhayford |

We went to Gameworks over the holidays and both kids and adults had a great time. We used the special pizza + games promotion, so kids could eat pizza and come and go as they pleased to play games, while the adults could sit in the bar/restaurant and have drinks, eat and watch the NFL playoffs.

Fun couples night out

By Amy B |

Lots of things to do here. Pub food and great burgers. Noisy but fun atmosphere made for a fun night out with friends.

Great place to have drink and watch a game.

By leebaker00 |

I was actually headed to a different restaurant when Gameworks caught my eye. It was a Saturday in the Fall which means football! The service was good, the beer was cold and the Jerk wings were tasty. Everything you need to watch college football.

Temper your expectations

By Emily I |

Temper your expectations for Gameworks. It’s a worn down downtown arcade that has 2 floors of a combination of arcade and ticketed games. Many of the games had ripped seat cushions, worn handles, or not even turned on. I will admit there were some pretty cool motion arcade games where you felt like you were in a moving car or off roading in a Hummer. Many families were in there and it seems like a decent place to bring children on a rainy afternoon, or host a child’s birthday party. We purchased a Groupon which gave us an all day game pass plus $20 to use towards ticketed games. We didn’t try any of the food or drinks, but they do have a bar for those who are interested. Although there are many signs that alcohol isn’t allowed on the game floor, so unfortunately you can’t drink and game.

Fairly Nice Arcade

By Jason Hennig |

As far as arcades go, this one has a good selection of games to play, but not an outstanding one. The cleanliness and organization of the arcade, as well as the overall layout, is definitely nicer than many, however. Our drinks when we took a break were pretty watered down. We didn't grab any food, so I can't comment on that.

A treat for game lovers

By Tampa_Dude2 |

The location of Gameworks could hardly be better. It is right next to the convention center, the Nike store and 6 blocks away from Pike Place Market. There are a lot of games to choose from. Prices are average. I spent $35 for two players---one a young kid. We had a blast. There are too many games out of order for me to give it a 5 star. They have a small restaurant bar too, but the food was not to my liking. I am happy I went and had a great time.

Downtown Dinner

By 4ThWaller |

I was on holiday in Seattle and one evening I decided to try out this place for dinner as it didn't look too busy inside. Once in I was greeted by one of the stuff. Can't remember his name but he was a friendly reasonable gentleman. Now there is a reason for why I didn't give this place a better review. When I decided what I wanted to drink (which was their local draft) I was asked for proof of age which I provided. What shocked me was it got rejected by the member of staff as according to their 'company policy' they do not accept foreign driving licenses for ID and it had to be a passport. I thought that was silly as other bars and restaurants accepted it with no issue and I assume a lot of tourists around my age who visit Seattle will not want to carry their valuable passport just to get a drink. I am not faulting the man for doing so as he was just following the policy enforced upon him. So i just ended up ordering a spicy shrimp eith a soft drink which was served promptly. Now that I think about it, the reason for why this place may have been empty compared to other bars and restaurants was probably because of their policy on ID. Much as I enjoyed the service and food provided, if I visited Seattle again I probably will not return here

Broken down and pricy go during the week for best luck

By CakeVampire |

First, despite a wide food / bar and party area if you care about quality avoid and food and beverage per the other reviews. Unfortunately its one of the worst gameworks I have visited too. There is not a huge variety of different types of games and the worst part is what is there is broken and run down. I would say 1 in every 5 or 6 games is out of order or having an issue. The entire place had 3 pinball machines, 1 was the most boring pinball machine I have ever seen with virtually no sound, limited bumper activity and the game felt as if it was off most of the time. I played through 2 plays even though I only swiped once it seemed someone had left it with some credits. I left it with 2 credits as despite even being free it was not worth playing. Aside from the dead feel of the game the ball got stuck 4 independent times requiring some vigorous shaking to fix. A friend on the other game found it also was quite run down which certainly take the fun out of it. We had to wait 15 minutes to get a few credits back for a game that crashed out as a manager had to approve the 3 credit return even though the game was still crashed when we flagged some support down. The air hockey tables had physical holes through them and games just were not well maintained (this is not counting the ones that were physically marked as out of order). The ticketed games are segmented off and ironically did not even include the skiiball machines. While all ticket activities at arcades are hardly worth the prizes gamestop was extremely embarrassing in what you got. The ticket machines spit out "2 ticket" tickets, if you actually got double the tickets it might have made some of the games better. During the week they have multi-hour unlimited credits for reasonable (I believe) rates. I think they exclude the ticketed games but it may be a better deal. You will atleast know you won't run through $50+ in under two hours. Its the only 'Arcade' in town that we could find other than the pinball museum(which is great as long as you don't mind all pinball). All the same I would probably try to skip the arcade all the same and find something that will leave you satisfied at the end of the day. The staff are also annoying to deal with and have a real attitude, we walk up to buy some cards order a $35 card to be told “and you know that has a $3 activation fee”, never had someone give such tone when telling me they are taking more of my money.

Good for a quick bite

By CasualDebris |

I dropped in for a quick dinner while in the area for work and ordered the Hot Hog Sandwich and a pint of Ninkasi Red. I enjoyed the food and the service was good; I might pop in again if i the neighbourhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Birthday party excellence

By Isaiah C |

I had my daughter's 6th birthday party at the Seattle game works on a saturday. I just want to say that it was an awesome experience. We had 10 kids total, the minimum, but could have fit 10 more. The event came with 3 huge pizzas and didn't expect them to be that good. The cookies and kettle chips were made fresh in the kitchen and were delicious. David, the person helping us, was superb in his taking care of anything we needed. We felt no rush to get in and out of the room and he let us store our presents in the room while the kids played their games. So big kudos to him. The kids then got 72 credits, which we used instead of the hourly play because being 6 year olds the lure of the ticket games is too much. Overall this was a great experience. The kids loved it, the parents loved it, and it was a no hassle event.

Great late night

By globetrottergrub |

We went to the movies and realized after we hadn't had any dinner so we popped in to grab a bite. The staff is always friendly. They were a bit understaffed and we had to wait a little bit but its open late and good "bar" style food.

Awesome way of relaxing while the kids run crazy

By Justin C |

My dad and I took my son here. We put cash on a card and let him go crazy while we checked out the bar which kept us content as we chatted away. The kid got some gizmos with the tickets he won -- which was not that many. So, $20 on a card will keep the kid happy while you surf the web or guzzle a few. Great location just north of Pike's Place.

Super fun!

By Cvh3 |

My husband and I had an amazing time at game works! It's an arcade for adults every game they have there is super fun! We didn't have to wait much for our turns they also have a bar and dinner seating area you can walk around or play a game while drinking a nice cold beer! Super fun but be prepared to spend money! We will definitely be going back!

like another jillian's, but louder. food is like any other applebees.

Fun time with the family

By natalieweiss |

I had so much fun here with my family. While it is expensive it is totally worth it. All the games are so fun I spent hours earning tickets. The prizes are really neat! I got a big stuffed monkey and a donut pillow as well as a lot of candy. I wouldn't recommend buying the food there because it's very expensive for what it is, but there's a Cheesecake Factory across the street. Overall, it's a great place to have a fun night out with anyone, really. I'm sure it would even be fun going by yourself!

An awesome evening

By Sarah L |

My husband and I LOVED gameworks. We lucked out and got a great deal on a 3rd party coupon site, we got unlimited play upstairs (loaded with pin ball, shooter games, old school racing games etc) and pay tokens for the prize games downstairs. They become 18+ after 10 or so, And sell alcohol!! When you arrive you will get 2 cards (they replace the tokens and prize tickets) 1 card is for games that produce tickets and another for the arcade style games upstairs. A fun way to spend the evening, great for couples

Lots of fun and a great deal

By SteveH250 |

Both the kids like to play video games and the deals at Gameworks was great - $20 for 3hrs. We all had fun in here, my wife and I, and both the kids. There were lots of video games to choose from as well as basketball games and pool. Two floors of video games with lots of driving and shoot-em-up's. Buying hrs on a card which you just swipe in each machine is a great way to do this - you're not dishing out money left right and center when the kids want to play the video games, just give them a card, tell them they have three hrs and let them go.

Dylan and I went here. The food is surprisingly good. Similiar to a TGIFriday's or Applebee's, but better.

Awesome upgrade, so glad this place is reopen! I always stop here when I’m in Seattle, our entire family has a BLAST. Highly recommend for kids!!!

Time to release the inner child in me!

By PBarryUK |

Loved this place - there are so many arcade games and the evening that I visited had an offer to buy a card for unlimited usage that night. There is a large variety of game types and and also from from retro to quite modern platforms - I especially liked the shoot 'em up games! I also had food which was reasonably priced and the portion size was massive! Beer was also excellent. If you have time, visit here and take yourself back to your childhood!

Good if you want to watch a game but....

By patricia452 |

leave before you eat anything. We ordered the spinach dip. What little there was was swimming in a puddle of grease. That's when we decided to go elsewhere for dinner after the game. They do have a nice selection of beers on tap. We found the local brews very good. The most interesting thing about the place: My husband and I were sitting at the bar watching the game. A man sat down beside me, leaned over and said: Could you spare 6 bucks. I need to buy a Greyhound ticket. I honestly had no money and told him so. He then caught the attention of the bar tender and told him to cancel his drink order! A regular???

Sports bar around the corner

By James_n_shelly |

We came in because we were hungry. It has a game room but we didn't try the room out. My husband found out they had hefeweisen beer and he had two! We both watched the Astros and Yankees playing and had conversation. Our server was very friendly and seemed to enjoy his job. Our food was simple and delicious. It was loud but it is a sports bar. Actually had a good time.

A Good Time

By D. Lemons |

Three of us came in and got all day passes with $20 rechargeable cards as well around 7pm. Monday was busier than expected, service was professional and even personable at times. No pitchers availabe for beer, only these odd, beer towers likened to Sunday church lemonade dispenser. The first tower we acquired held 8 12oz servings... which is how they bill it. The dispenser handle broke off with half of the contents remaining. Again, service was quick and professional with their response to this issue and immediately replace the dispenser. We regret the tower as it required us to remain in the bar where if we had purchased single glasses we could have already been playing. Other than a few malfunctioning machines the evening was throughly enjoyable.

Quick and Easy

Didn't go into the arcade just the sports bar. Service was good, burger was better than average. Had a good selection of draught beer but it wasn't working. Price was reasonable. If you are looking for a place to get a burger grab a beer and watch sports this is a good option.
