Great Seafood, great view

Valet parking on site, and on the street, good service, great view! Food? great. Expensive it is, but well worth it. Nice staff.

Great seafood right on the river

By rrivera57 |

If you want to enjoy a great experience on the Miami River and savor the flavors of the Caribbean and Cuba, make sure you visit Garcias...the food is fabulous so make sure you haven't eaten and have a ravenous appetite when you go...highly recommend this place.

Disappointing

By suebbear |

We ate dinner here while visiting the area in January 2024 and loved our meal. When we visited again this past weekend we were very disappointed. I ordered butterflied snapper with a crab augratain on top. I tried three bites and each bite was filled with crab shell. The waitress came toward the end of the meal to ask how everything was, I told her and she asked if I wanted it recooked. I explained the problem to her a second time and explained that recooking it would not get rid of the crab shell. She said, “oh” and cleared the table. When she brought the bill she said that she had taken off one glass of wine for the bad meal. Whoopie. I didn’t even bother to ask for the manager because her was listening to the many complaints from the table next to us offering them a free cup of coffee. Making the customer happy did not seem to be the priority.

Flavourful grilled fish

By JuanJo OLIVER |

We went to have dinner. The table was outside close to Miami river with good views at night in a calm environment. We order chowder soup and grilled fish. Waiter help us kindly to decide what to eat following our requests. We really enjoyed our time there.

I was threaded by a bouncer for asking why they charged me a hidden fee.

By Campoofer |

Service and food great as usual. But they are charging a 3.5% fee for paying with credit cards. They don’t say it anywhere. Just in a line on the check titles Non cash fee. When I claimed about it the me showed me a court resolution from some One that sued them showing they have the right. The manger has no idea in dealing with clients claims. Meanwhile, there was a bouncer by my side asking the manager for the green light to…. I felt intimidated like if I was a con. The bouncer fixed on me with a threatening defying look. Just go to Casablanca just 5 feet’s away. Don’t sweat it.

We sat at the bar because

By Sue |

We sat at the bar because it was too hot outside which was a good thing because we got to know Joe, the bartender. Do not question his knowledge! Joe, very easily talked me into a coconut mojito. Hands down the BEST mojito I’ve ever had! Following his advise we then had the fried shrimp and the grilled seafood platter: shrimp, scallops, calamari and octopus. The octopus was outstanding (as were the others but, we’d never had octopus before. Please put Garcia’s on your foodie list while in Miami (and be sure to check out Joe, ladies!)

Great Seafood Restaurant in Miami

By Retro50 |

Enjoyed our dinner at this Miami dockside restaurant. Delicious seafood, friendly service, valet parking. Pretty views from the deck also.

One of the best dinners in Miami

By PenelopeMilan |

Very informal dining and sometimes noisy terrace with boats passing by, but the fish is literally delicious. We tried the chefs specials, the mahi mahi and snappers, and my child loved their conch fritters. Also the keylime pie was one of the best we had. There is a fish shop downstairs ans the price/quality is unbeatable. Definitely worth to go

Still the BEST restaurant in Miami for Seafood

By Gloria F |

We never miss this great spot on the river when we are in Miami and it never disappoints! Same delicious food, excellent service and funky Miami River views as when we first started coming here 15 years ago. Fresh and spot on good seafood. The whole grilled Yellowtail is the best I've ever had.

Great staff and Service

By Frank C |

Could be a parking problem, when busy. Went before the rush on Lunch. Larry R, was our server, informative, friendly and attentive. Our first time here, sat upstairs on deck over looking Miami River, watching the nice boats, drift by. Grouper sandwich, could use a little more kick even though we ordered "blackened" Plantains , best I have tasted, even better than the one's I make at Home! Parsley potatoes also good. Service was excellent. Had some time awaiting to get on Cruise. Nice views from upper Deck. Seafood market downstairs was busy and had great looking fresh seafood, to prepare at home.

Fun Dinner!

By Jill |

I'm shocked to read some of the recent reviews as we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We sat on the lower deck and enjoyed watching all of the boats go by. Our dinner was delicious and the portions were quite large. We also really enjoyed the cocktails! Yes, the parking is valet, but you can park on the adjacent streets (I believe we did have to pay to park, but it was minimal).

Consistent in quality. Very good.

By George A |

This restaurant is consistent in its quality, it does not change. You get what you came for and expect. Very good authentic fish. No tricks or fancy optics. It is a very good place to eat and excellent value for what you get.

4 times in the last 3 months

By BobHandTV |

I have been to Garcia's 4 times in the last 3 months. Few things that are excellent Conch Fritters (comes with 3 sauces are great) Mahi Mahi Fingers Mahi Mahi/Shrimp Main Platter Mahi Mahi Caesar Salad The Fish Dip use to come out whenever you arrived. Last time I was here it didnt and we got it and it wasn't that good. I have also done the entire Fried platter (with fried shrimp and another fried fish but I think the Mahi Mahi Fingers and Conch Fritters are star) I enjoy the outdoor location being on the Miami River but I know sometime the smell of fish market can be overwhelming In terms of drinks -wish they had better cocktails but the Miami Mule is better than Blackberry Mojito

Delicious!

By Ammie L |

Glad we made it here before our trip was over. We were recommended by our B&B to the place next door but their reviews weren't enough to draw us in. But Garcia's had great service, water views, and food was on point. Drinks were great too! Highly recommend! I had the Sea Bass and it was perfect. Hubby had Mahi Mahi and we shared ceviche for an appetizer. Their classic mojitos were great!

No frills Fresh Seafood

By GarryDesAmours |

We have been many times to Casablanca restaurant next door but we never stopped by Garcia Seafood Grille. After I carefully perused a number of reviews, we have decided to go there to enjoy some Seafood. Overall, the food was great and the service was effective. The seafood soup was a good choice. My wife had the blackened Grouper fillet. Although she enjoyed it, it was not as delicious as the one in New-Orleans or Houston. Everything we had was indeed fresh and the prices were fairly reasonable. The old Cuban décor upstairs really personalized the restaurant. The high chairs were not comfortable. I assume they just want you “eat and go” and not to “dine”. The floor was filthy. Even the walls in the stairway were dirty. I think you can keep an “oldie” look and keep the place clean.

seafood sadness

By Littlebrowndoggy1 |

I researched where to get a good grouper sandwich in Miami and Garcia's came highly recommended on TA and random websites. The picture of the sandwich is not what I got. I have had many grouper sandwiches in FLA and there are hard to mess up. The piece of fish should be bigger than the bun and thick. Garcia's had me opening the sandwich to find a thin little excuse of a piece of fish that got lost in all the mayo and chopped lettuce and tomato. So sad. Order something else if you go there!!!!!

WORST service in Miami

By jokome |

WORST service in Miami. Fresh seafood but average to below average flavors. Garcia used to be one of our favorite restaurants where we used to take friends & family visiting Miami, but with unresponsive and rude staff and an even worse unresponsive manager, it is now a risk to take anyone there......likely to be disappointed. I could give several examples of the bad service but will not waste my time. Simply, we will not visit again and we will recommend anyone not to ever visit the dump.

A fantastic place for an excellent seafood experience

By TARCGAZ |

A fantastic place for an excellent excellent seafood lunch after a morning on the water. Ambiance was spot on

Perfect evening on the water!

By WyouandI |

I flew in for a short business trip from north Florida and wanted a casual fish/seafood place for dinner. The hotel recommended this place and it was exactly what I was looking for, good food, good atmosphere and good service. I ordered the black sea bass in the cilantro sauce with grilled veggies and yellow rice. It was fantastic! They also bring out their fish dip/spread with crackers and it is spectacular as well. An added bonus was that all of the boats seemed to be coming in off the ocean and there was anything from smaller off shore fishing boats to double decker 70 ft mega yachts! Overall the service was great and the atmosphere and food was exactly what I was looking for. I can't wait to recommend this place to everyone I know and come back the next time I am here. I'm hooked for sure!

Rating is for the wide choice, quality and value of the seafood - only.

By Seamus Kenmare |

So, I guess the title of the review sort of covers what most people are looking for in a good restaurant - the food. Excellent seafood, bit pricey, but the quality is there. And, the ambience/view from the deck overlooking the Miami River is enjoyable on a nice day/evening. Their regular menu and their specials offer a wide range of fin and shellfish dishes prepared in unique and savory ways. One of the 3 meals that we enjoyed was a butterflied snapper with crabmeat served with 2 lobster raviolis and two veggies - sauteed to my choice. Excellent dish. Each diner is given a small cup of crab dip prior to the meal. Now, the downside. The service was good and professional but every member of the staff that served us or we encountered had a scowl on their face during our entire stay - from entry to when we left. It was an early dinner - we arrived at 5:30 (1730) and the relatively small deck overlooking the river was pretty full. But, the main dining area on the second floor (problematic for mobility disabled diners) was nearly empty at this hour. The point - these staff members were not being stressed. They just seemed to be an unhappy bunch of employees for their own personal reasons. This culture transformed an enjoyable dining experience into a eat-and-go meal. Something is wrong with human chemistry in this place. The second 'issue' we had - the drink prices/quality/quantity were outrageous. I suspect that it is by design. A venue like this probably gets a lot of local and tourist guests who just want a drink to enjoy the view, thus taking up a table for potential dinners who will spend and tip more. Thus, a very small mojito was priced at US$15.00 for about 5 ozs. Really, I mean how much cost is a little more Sprite? Three gulps and it was gone. They result was ordering a second. Bottom line was that the two drinks which amounted to a normal tall mojito ended up costing US30.00 per diner. Get your drinks elsewhere but eat the food here! We have eaten in venues like this over the years and experienced the same high-price drink issue allowing the owners to obtain the proper margin from drinks-only guests. However, many waterfront and view venues like this offer a two-tier pricing drink policy. Have drink(s) with dinner and it's one price; have drinks-only and it's slightly higher or even double. Makes good business sense. Until Garcia's institutes a drink policy like this, we will continue to eat there but sans alcohol! Fool me once and shame on me, fool me twice and.....

Outstanding!

By SheilaKentucky |

We dined here last week with family and a friend for lunch. The location on the Miami river is lovely. The food is fresh and delicious. There is a bright mural on one wall, which depicts the story of the owner's family. We had the unique opportunity to meet the wonderful Steve Garcia, and get to know more about this remarkable family business. Don't miss a visit upstairs to see the family wall of pictures! We can't wait to return. A must-visit when in Miami.

Dinner with family and with great pleasure

By Ag Giorgi |

Great fish dinner. Local now historic and pleasant. Great service. Price in line and average. And the second time I come and it's always a pleasure

Always the same great seafood

By FedeAL_EC |

Once again I visited Garcia with my family and like a great restaurante they keep the same high quality and service. The Calamari cluster is very impressive, try the Grouper Fillet blackened and you will enjoy it and the Stone Crab is delicious. The quality and freshness are always the best.

oysters

By miri273 |

service was great. grilled seafood platter was tasty and tender. THE OYSTERS which were certainly fresh were shucked by an amateur. They broke a huge chunk of the shell in order to pry it open. They were filled with large pieces of broken shell. Complained about it, received an I'm sorry, but they still charged me full price $25 doz. Don't order them.

Good food, nice atmosphere

By Matthias L |

Very nice outside seating area, fresh and tasty seafood. It’s nice to sit and watch the boats pass by on the Miami river. The grilled fish was excellent.

Delicious rice & seafood dish

By sidecarmike45 |

We sat outside overlooking the Miami River and watching the boat traffic returning from the sea. Many sea birds hanging around looking for a handout. The special, rice and seafood dish was exceptional with scallops, crab, lobster, shrimp. I can almost taste it again while writing.

The best seafood meal we have

By Dawn D |

The best seafood meal we have had in our many visits to Miami. Our party of 6 throughly enjoyed every bite of our complementary fish dip, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Staff was warm & welcoming, great suggestions, very attentive. Great experience

Freshly Caught Fish Galore

By Kiplynn S |

The restaurant is located on the river with their fish market below. Our server was wonderful but service was subpar. The grilled fish platter was incredible. The sides lack luster. Ask for recommendations to get the best pick of the day.

A must to visit.

By K L |

Great grilled lobster. Bestie had snapper with lobster ravioli and crab meat. Others had sea bass and mahi mahi. Food was great . Air conditioning was so cold the waiter adjusted the temp!

Authentic Old-School Miami - but go upstairs!

By Kevin S |

We had lunch at Garcia's. It was our first time and we were a little confused by the mismatch between what we had seen online and what we saw when we entered - little did we know that the real action is on the SECOND FLOOR! In any case, we had a good lunch with grilled shrimp, Grilled Grouper, Lobster Bisque and coleslaw. We sat out behind by the river where it was fund to watch the boat traffic. The seating on the first floor is picnic-table style just FYI. The food was good but simple and the portions were appropriate (i.e., not too big or too small) for the two of us the above was just right for lunch. After lunch, we discovered the upstairs (or up elevator) which is where the more elegant dining room and bar is as well as outdoor seating - next time UP! You can also get fresh whole fish and other seafood out front. They have valet parking but the drop off lot is tiny and basically, a good place for patrons to get run over - we found parking just down the street. We recommend this for people looking for a good, affordable and authentic old-school Miami experience - it's a bit tumbledown and has lived-in aesthetic with lots of fishing photos and knicknacks all around but it is legit and real. Long may Garcia's live on!

The Cuban Seafood Resturant not to be missed!

By Gloria F |

Have visited Garcias many times for delious yellow tail snapper and the best Mojitos in Miami. The service is consistently above reproach. If you haven't tried it, you're missing the best Miami has to offer!

Fresh seafood in relaxed ambiance

By Marcio T |

This is one of those old style places where you feel comfortable in shorts and sandals, but here is what I liked: - Fresh seafood perfectly done. We had a large entire fish that was delicious - Attentive and gentle service - No frills, good side dishes, cold beer Excellent place for a relaxed lunch!

Good food but the wait was long

By Carol A |

Went here on a Wednesday night. There were no tables on the patio so they asked if we wanted to sit inside at a small table by the entrance. It was an odd set-up because we were the only table in there and it was in between the register, kitchen & entryway, but we were ok with it. Our drinks and appetizer came out in a decent amount of time but it took 45 minutes to get our main course and it felt like they forgot about us. When we finally did get our main course it was very good but after having waited so long we were kind of over the whole experience and ready to leave.

Fantastic!

By Caroline S |

Fantastic relaxed place with extremely good, completely fresh food seafood. Decent portions, highly recommended!

Great sunset place

By Laura H |

Wait for a table by the water. You can see the big yachts go by and makes a great location for dinner. if you sit somewhere else, they will not move you if a table opens up by the water so I advise to wait to be seated at one. We ate fried grouper fingers appetizer and it melted in your mouth. So good! I ordered grilled jumbo shrimp and my companion ordered fried shrimp and both were excellent. The sides were meh. The tostones were not salted enough and were hard as a rock. The seafood was fresh and tasted excellent though so we were happy.

My go to restaurant in Miami

By Randy A |

Great Food, reasonable price and fun river watching while dining. Sit out on the deck upstairs, and enjoy!!

Excellent seafood place

By Antarsul |

Do not expect a fancy place, the entrance is through a small door next to the fish market and up a narrow and dark staircase. There is sitting outside with Views to the river. The inside room has the vibe of a traditional cantina. We came here for the food and the ambiance and were not disappointed. Oysters and calamari appetizers were excellent, and all main dishes were pretty good too, fresh fish for sure. The service was very polite and attentive. We parked across on the street with meter parking. I highly recommend this place for seafood.

Ok on food, but weak on location, space, service, and prices

By Youssef W |

We kept hearing about this place from everyone we met when we moved to FL. We finally decided to try it. It was odd locating the place. It does not look like an open building. But, we really did not care much for that. We just thought it was odd for Miami. When we went in, we got no reception. Then when finally someone showed, There was no sorry for the delay, they asked number of people and walked us upstairs. The stairs were very dirty and slippery. Then we sat on a table that was dirty as well and we asked the server to cleanup, and you can see they were not thrilled by the request. Finally we got the menu and we ordered the food. everything looked good. But it was not as great as it was advertised. It tasted pretty blend and like any fried food you can get from any place or do it yourself. We got the appetizers halfway through our meal. To be honest, the appetizer of Fried Calamaris tasted better than my fried fish. For the experience, and to check it off the list, it was worth that one trip, otherwise, nothing really special for a repeat.

Good food

By NatRod |

We really enjoyed this place. Staff was attentive and very friendly. Food was good, just wish the portion sizes were a bit larger for the price. Parking was a little difficult in this area especially for someone who is not from Miami. (After you enter head up the stairs to the main restaurant and will be seated. FYI) We would enjoy going back if we are in town again visiting.

Great view of the river

By joecorbin |

We had a great meal on the outdoor patio on the river. Fresh seafood in a casual environment. Will definitely be back

Thank you.

By pedro c |

We were having lunch last January 4th.They were sincerely very friendly at all times and the food was delicious. The place is very good.In the end From the food we were given a very good Cuban coffee..I wanted to repeat and I certainly was not wrong..Thanks for everything

At 5:00 we had a 20 minute wait for an inside table.

By Mike4TraveI |

We were told that the view of the Miami River from the outside was very good but after seeing it I noticed that it was blocked by other buildings. That said, after we placed our order we noticed that the service was slow initially. However the fish dip (which was salty and delicious), seafood creole and grilled seafood were very good. It is a casual, laid back atmosphere with a slight nautical theme.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere.my son in law and I ate here the last day of Stone Crab Claw season. Everything we ate was delicious. The beer was ice cold. I can’t wait to go back

It’s good to get out of the house

By Ann P |

Thought about a 3 instead of 4 but will provide details of why below: Food: good overall. We ordered cracked conch for appetizer it was chewy and the batter was salty in part and better in others. The conch chowder was very good full of flavor. The fried grouper fingers were $30 and small portions, lots of French fries and the batter tasted the same as the cracked conch - inconsistent. The jumbo fried shrimp was very good. The grilled grouper was bland. The lobster ravioli was very good and the sauce was great. The portions were small so we ended up using the sauce with the yellow rice to fill the void. The drinks: lychee martini was good, the mule was great if you like ginger. We sat down stairs and outside. They had live music. The space is small and noisy. Not all seats allowed for viewing the water. Plenty of wait staff created some confusion with orders. For 4 people and only 2 alcoholic drinks the bill was $250 with tip and valet parking and extra $20! Valet parking was tight the parking lot is not user friendly. And no, I didn’t tip the valet although he was working very hard and very helpful- because $20 is unreasonable. Hope this was helpful. Oh I forgot! Be prepared for someone to put raw fish on your table and say something in Spanish! Perhaps they were offering to prepare either, anyway we liked? Any way it was just good to get out of the house for dinner and try something new.

Surprised how busy Garcias

By AndreaUbok |

Surprised how busy Garcias was Sunday at 5 o’clock. We cued up to get to the valet. We walked inside passed the Fish market and the kitchen up the steps and gave our name. We waited at the bar for a table. We would’ve loved some thing outside on the pretty veranda but there was nothing available so we squeezed into the dining room. The tables were so close to each other that the woman next to us overheard our conversation and gave us her son’s business card. Armando our waiter was friendly and personable. We started with drinks, big glasses of ice water, And the Garcias fish dip with saltines. The fish was fresh creamy and delicious not salty. The menu had a lot to choose from. Wanted to try the hog fish was but was told that it hasn’t been in in a while. All of the fish the pesto table looked and smelled delicious. Our son enjoyed his grilled seafood platter with calamari, shrimp, octopus and scallops. The vegetables and plantains on the side were equally delicious. My husband and I shared the Creole seafood without a half a lobster tail, some shrimp, and scallops over rice with plantain sons side. Portions were adequate and everything was delicious. We saw a beautiful desserts pass us by but we resisted.

Great food - a must if in Miami.

By archie s |

This was the best place we ate at in Miami! Cost is mid to high. Food was amazing - some of the best fish I have ever had.

We've been conned out of tipping

By Marta |

We ate very well, a shame that at the end of the meal they tried Scam us with the bill. They tried to charge us the tip twice on the grounds that the account fee was money charged to them by the bank (obviously it was a lie, that was the tip). This is probably to blame for the culture that has been created, the tip is not kept by the waiters and they have no other choice but to try to get it back. But being tricked in the face is not deserved, especially in a €300 account.

Fresh seafood and excellent service.

By KarenC |

The best seafood we have tried in Miami. Our meals were a high variety and everything was outstanding..

As Advertised

By BDR0se |

No surprises if you've read the reviews. I recommend the fried lobster special appetizer, and the grilled seafood main dish. Best grilled shrimp, calamari and octopus I've had. Scallops were good too, but not amazing.

Really Good Stone Crabs and Service!

By Fra Gian |

We went there for the Stone Crabs, which were in season at that time We sat at the bar for a quick snack and met Jessica, a very attentive and charismatic girl! Great service. we definitely are coming back to visit her and try the rest of the menu!

Joe saved the day

By Speedlighters |

Looking tired these days and could do with a thorough clean all around. Would have been 3 stars but our server Joe was exceptionally good and a linchpin for the business so it’s a 4*

Freshest catch in Florida

We had one of the most amazing time and experience here at Garcia’s ! Made a new friend too with the Garcia family. The kindest people on the planet serving you the best seafood!

Great food and nice outside sitting overlooking the Miami River

By smm405 |

My wife, my Son and I were treated to a wondering fish meal at Garcia's. Very friendly staff and our waiter was wonderful. It was a nice evening meal out on the back deck overlooking the Miami River. We all had fish which the waiter presented to us before it was cooking and they did an outstanding job. I love fish and this was the best. Nothing like real fresh seafood. My son and I had Grouper and my wife had Swordfish. If I lived in Miami I would visit this place all the time

He’s always on point, goes out if his way to provide the BEST service! Go to Gatcia’s and ask for a table with Joe!

Garcia’s Seafood Restaurant - a classic dinning-on-the-Miami-River experience

By byMT305 |

Open for many decades, Garcia’s Seafood is a classic Miami dinning experience. Located right on the Miami River, it’s a casual “fun” place to eat, both for locals and tourists. There’s lots of seafood choices on the menu. Service is disorganized and can run slow. Parking is difficult in this area ($20 Valet is available). We enjoyed: White sangria - good Fish sandwiches - all good (grouper, mahi-mahi) Blackened grouper entree - very good Fried shrimp sandwich - good Mixed grilled seafood - very good French fries - hot & crispy Grilled vegetables - mediocre Key lime pie - homemade (overly sweet) Garcia’s is-what-it-is. It’s not fine dinning, but we enjoyed and will go again.

Great authentic Cuban seafood restaurant

By Rboe R |

Wonderful fresh, fresh seafood! Only for insiders .. Sit outside at the waterfront . Lunch or dinner.. They catch their own fish. Real Cuban place, relaxed.. ..and Cuban coffee!

Garcia’s Seafood Grille & Fish Market is simply a jewel.

By RP G |

Garcia’s Seafood Grille & Fish Market is simply a jewel. This family owned restaurant has been open since 1961. I had the opportunity to have lunch at Garcia’s recently and was delighted with the food, location and service. We ate on the upstairs balcony overlooking the river. The ceviche and smoked fish spread are simply fantastic so don’t miss it! The toastones are incredible too. I had a grilled shrimp Caesar salad that was wonderful and my colleague had the grilled Mahi-Mahi which he said was excellent. The service was also outstanding! The next time I’m in Miami I will definitely return to Garcia’s!

Fresh Seafood and Excellent Service

By Sandra P |

The seafood is fresh and delicious. We ordered the snapper grilled and fried. Fried was REALLY fried. Ask for them to fillet the fish. A little fish actually to eat on the plate. The parsley potatoes were delicious . They have an elevator to go to the second floor patio. No need to climb the old stairs. Old place but great food. The servers all help each other when it comes time to clear the table. Great teamwork.

Delicious food but really dirty restaurant

By sanmerle |

As we sat down I had to call twice to have our table wiped, it was filthy. The floors were full of old dirty napkins and food. It presented so badly as just plain dirty, nobody picking up or cleaning badly littered floors. The service was fair, I will say it was an extremely busy Sunday, but no excuse for not keeping the restaurant clean and pristine. I could not bring myself to use the bathroom in case the dining area was indicative or worse of the toilets. Food was delicious, but due to being so dirty I will not be back. What a shame as they have a great reputation for good seafood, but there are much cleaner seafood restaurants in Miami

The Best Fresh Seafood

By Rick A |

Garcia’s may not be in the best neighborhood but they do have the best fresh seafood anywhere. It is casual and reasonably priced and you can even come by boat. For the best fresh grilled seafood, it’s Garcia’s.

Oh wow!!

By dpeace1 |

Well let me say, this was probably the best meal we had in Miami. Fish tastes like it jumped out of the ocean and straight onto our plate, YES its that fresh!! Our waiter, who I unfortunately, was not smart enough to ask his name. Was the most friendly person we ever met and so helpful. He helped us not only with our menu choices but also wrote down recommendations on places to visit in Miami. What a rare bird! The view outdoors is beautiful, you can gaze at the river while enjoying your fresh and delicious seafood. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you to our wonderful waiter, who I failed to ask his name. He was most kind!

Dinner

By Tom A |

Great local spot with fresh seafood and excellent wait staff. A small restaurant so wait times were what we expected.

Early Dinner

By russminton |

Excellent location overlooking the river and the evening was very pleasant. The complementary fish dip was excellent on crackers and was flavorful although very rich. The Fish Ceviche, which we shared, was very good ; the Chilean Seabass was excellent, and the Grilled Seafood Platter was outstanding. While the food was excellent, the service, particularly while trying to settle the bill, was very slow. Other diners around us had the same problem; once the food was served, the waiters disappeared.

Quality good, exceptional service

By lummox5o |

Based on a recommendation from a friend a group of us stopped in to the restaurant. There is a narrow stairwell to the second floor but once there you can sit inside or outside. The patio outside was very well shaded and roomy. The dishes arrived quickly, food was tasty and the staff provided exceptional service.

CHECK YOUR BILL

By Roberto F |

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL Good fish, nice views of Miami River and courteous waiter BUT always double check your bill. We ordered a Ribera del Duero “Crianza” but the waiter brought us a Ribera del Duero “Roble” which is of a lower category and a much less expensive wine. The waiter said they had ran out of the “ Crianza.” When the bill came they attempted to charge us $13.00 above the price that appeared in the wine list for the “Crianza” even though the wine they served us was a “Roble.”The waiter returned with the manager who apologized and said they were in the process of redoing the wine list and removed the $13.00 overcharged although I was still charged the same price of a Crianza for a Roble. Then, when the bill came we were charged $4.62 for what they called a “convenience fee”. I asked what a “convenience fee” meant and the waiter said he would ask the manager. The waiter returned, this time without the manager, and explained that the “convenience fee” of $4.62 was added because a “convenience fee” is normally charged to the bills in restaurants. We expressed our disappointment with the concept and proceeded to pay it.

Good food Dirty Restaurant

So, there was a lot of hype about this restaurant. We gave it a try. We tried the octopus, shrimp and fish. The food was tasty but definitely not worth the cost. Portions were good but service was slow. We waited a long while to get our tab even though we requested it directly from our waiter. What turned me off most was the restaurant itself. The indoor area looks dated and outdoor high chairs were uncomfortable to sit on. The bathrooms, the bathrooms!!!! DIRTY Had I seen them before dinner, I would have left. Doubt I will be back. Sadly, I was looking forward to this experience.

What Happened?

By Amanda |

Garcia's was always fun to visit. A bit funky and on the water but tasty. I visited March 2019 and it was awful. My fish was so tough we sent it back. Everything tasted of some strange spice they put all over it and none of us liked it. Even the grilled shrimp had the awful spice rub on it. Only the fish spread they serve with bread and the conch fritters were tasty. There were five of us and all of us were so surprised at the decline. The waiter was friendly but forgot two items we had to reorder. One of the guests was so disgusted with her fried fish she stopped eating and was not interested in ordering anything else. Put some love in that kitchen.

Excellent, Fresh Fish

By Jim E |

My wife had the Butterfly Snapper and I had the blackened grouper. Both were great and very fresh. Highly recommend both. Very busy for a Thursday night. Not the place if you are looking for a quiet couples dinner.

Something's Changed !!

By AJ P |

After years and years of good food and attentive service, our last two experiences at Garcia's has convinced us we won't be going back. Long wait times, surly wait staff, previously frozen shrimp, brown / wilted salads and fish that isn't what's ordered is enough for us.... Don't waste your time and money. There's other great seafood restaurants in Miami !

Not as good as I thought but ok

By Ricardo B |

I had very good references of this place and probably I had high expectations and those expectations have not been met. The lobster bisque was nowhere near a proper lobster bisque and the fried calamari where average at best. Nice views and cozy atmosphere but it was not what I thought will be. It is not bad, but it should make an effort to be better.

Good staff and location, overpriced food

By Bert P |

Small portions for high prices. The quantity of the food was very disappointing especially when you look at the prices. The quality was decent but definitely not worth returning for. The staff was friendly and the location was good too. Would for sure not return though.

No, thank you

By Stevie W |

The service was amazing and the place was clean. The food was horrible and I’ll never come again. The grouper was tuff to chew and we had to spit out multiple pieces. Again, the wait staff was very awesome!

Disappointed…again.

By Bird |

Disappointed! This was our second visit. Our plates were tepid at best. We were served toasted cut up hamburger buns with which to soak up our clam sauce. Did not combine well at all. The lettuce in my salad was wilted. Our cocktails had too much ice, very watered down My Chilean sea bass was pricey, but tasted like pre frozen tilapia. Dry but swimming in a bland broth. The butterflied snapper was tiny and drowned in a pink creamy sauce. Our servers changed regularly… didn’t know who was our main server and we waited longingly. For the price we paid, we expected a delicious meal. We were instead, disappointed…again.

Good enough

By Michael U |

An embodiment of “The American Dream” since 1966, Garcia's Seafood Grille & Fish Market remains ever-popular amidst a global pandemic, the brothers who fled Castro and Communism continuing to send their fleet out and present Miami with fresh Fish daily. Begun as a market and wholesaler, but soon adding a Restaurant to scenic environs along the Miami River, it is with reservations that guests are offered a choice of indoor or outdoor seating, the latter an obvious choice for most as yachts drift by providing scenery along with a bevy of Birds. Still family owned, the décor a collection of relics alongside aged photos, it was from laminated menus that three courses were selected, the sizable sample of Fish Dip creamy with a balance of Herbs while Conch Fritters unfortunately saw the Mollusk lost to oil and Peppers. Debating a few daily specials from the blackboard, though many were already sold out in addition in to a handful of menu items, Grilled Grouper soon arrived alongside mixed Seafood, both priced appropriately and prepared well while sides such as fried Plantains attest to Garcia’s heritage. Disappointed to learn Tres Leches was not available, a recurrent theme throughout South Florida, Dessert instead consisted of Flan infused by Coconut beneath toasty Caramel and Key Lime Pie that unfortunately lacked in terms of assertiveness.

Good food, good service, great water views! What else could you want in a seafood joint?

By Fogman |

For some reason when I searched Apple Maps for seafood restaurants this did not show up. However, the restaurant next-door, Casablanca, did. We initially went there but we were unhappy with the welcome and scam in the parking lot.. We came here. the food is excellent. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Miguel, was right on. We had the grouper entree and the fried oyster appetizer. The appetizer was almost 2 dozen done very well. Wonderful seating out right by the river. Highly recommend

Fantastic Seafood

By Stewart M |

The seafood here is of the highest quality, so fresh it was almost swimming off the table!! Great table on the outside patio, watching the boats go by as we had a fantastic dinner. Highly recommended if you are looking for a top seafood reataraunt at afordable prices.

Quiet waterfront restaurant with great fresh seafood

By Mar |

A water front restaurant with a great view of the Miami River in a very relaxing atmosphere. The seafood is very well prepared and extremely fresh. Service from staff is excellent. A bit difficult to get to and parking a challenge, but definitely worth visiting.

I heard it was good, not anymore!

By Andy from DE |

The upstairs restaurant smelled bad, like an old toilet not cleaned and disinfected in a while; the whole place smelled like that and looked run down too. I chose to sit outside and the views and smells were not great either. The grilled octopus I tried as an appetizer was awful and not fresh and smelled and tasted funny too, I had to send it back, they didn't charge me for it so that was nice of them. The grouper fillet I tried as a main course was OK, not great. This place needs badly a good makeover and a new management. Very disappointed and not coming back.

Excellent seafood and drinks - great casual atmosphere and service. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

Great experience!

By Beth K |

Wow! Food was great and service was fantastic! We had Marlon (as in Brando) and he was on point! Crab claws were the best on our entire trip! Shrimp bisque was so good! Great experience!

Cuban cuisine

By Gili Anna |

If you like Cuban food it is highly likely you will enjoy this restaurant. I ordered the seafood grilled platter - the calimari , octopus, scallops and shrimp were perfectly cooked and Sprinkled with Cuban spices. The assistant manager Miguel was absolutely kind and gracious and a wonderful representative for this restaurant. Service was great. And the view was fun and great to watch different small to large boats pass through the water way.

Great place, great food and great service

By yolo-so-go |

Dinner was great and service was great. Berto, thanks for making my guests from out of town enjoy the Miami experience!

Fresh quality seafood!

Fresh quality seafood in flavorful recipes. A nice chill ambiance for everyone from friends, couples, and families. Def plan to return.

Disappointed

By OBofNY |

2nd time here. Nice location but shabby and dirty appearance with poor service quality. Nevertheless the food was fine.

While in MIA, don't skip this place

By rodrigo L |

Garcia seafood grille is an institution, right on the Miami river front, you can see the river traffic go up and down while you endulge yourself with some spectacular seafood options. Ask if the stone crabs are in season and order some. The conch Chowder is very nice, as well as the different fish options. And if you don't feel like sitting in, you can go over to the fish market section and pick up some fresh fish or seafood and take home.

A Great Place Now in the Dumps

By Scripto1 |

Garcia's was once a welcoming dive with a solid menu of fresh fish. Now it's in the tank and not worth a look. We order the grouper and out came slim patties of cold, dry, over-cooked and tasteless fish. There are other restaurants along the Miami River. Better try somewhere else. What a come-down.

Excellent fresh fish

By sanmerle |

Excellent fresh fish prepared to,perfection. Upstairs patio only was open with outdoor seating Food was beautifully prepared and service was good. I might of rated this restaurant with five stars if they had had better protocols for Covid, waiters not wearing masks, standing so close to you, fortunately we did have on masks. I would certainly return as the food was delicious. Parking tonight was full therefore the valet Sid our parking was going to be thirty dollars, we fortunately easily found parking on the street.

Amazing seafood, a great dining experience

By Christophe PJ |

Okay, this is not a tablecloth place but the seafood tastes 10 times more authentic than Truluck's at half the price. Add waterside seating to that and take away the piano singer. Amazing.

Fantastic!

By greagan |

Utterly wonderful. Every facet of our experience was terrific. The food was uncompromisingly fresh and perfectly prepared. The service was charming and authentic. The setting divine! Dined outdoors alongside a waterway that accommodated pleasure craft and commercial vessels under tow as well. A delight to watch from tableside. As an added attraction was a gorgeous egret who knew how to appeal for food in a charming fashion. We have eaten at Joe’s Crab Shack, an establishment far more popularized for tourists. Garcia’s excels in every measurable regard. Locals dine at Garcia’s. Regularly. It is NOT a superficial Instagram moment, it is a vibrant member of a flourishing neighborhood. A treasure.

The food was mediocre, at

By Lee1Bowen |

The food was mediocre, at best. The service was the worst we can remember. Rude and very inattentive waiter. Door going to the bathroom door ...locked! Valet parked a Range Rover , in a NO PARKING zone, so close to our car that we couldn’t get out. (Cop positioned nearby got valet to move it...eventually! Let’s just say with ALL the great restaurants around Miami....certainly don’t waste your time (or money, extremely over priced!) on this place. Gave 2 stars(circles) only because of view and the fact that I rarely ever leave a bad review! Thanks, Lee

Stone Crab!

By Manatee4Me |

The stone crab claws were fabulous. We ordered 5 pounds for 4 people, and everyone had plenty. We ate on the balcony, with a view of the river. It was a relaxed and pleasant evening. Stone crab season is short - be sure to visit Garcia's before it os over!

What a delicious find. Oysters great Fish all the food was top quality. We finished with key lime pie and cheese flan plus Cuban coffee...yes we will come back. Service was excellent.

HORRIBLE FOOD...

By Jose Z |

I had not been to this place in many years. Decided to return for the location and fresh seafood. The Chilean seabass was extremely small, with no taste. The butterfly yellow tail snapper was small as well very little seasoning. The grilled vegetables were cold.

River Lunch

By Tee_305 |

Was looking forward to Garcia’s since I heard such good reviews. Had a good time although a little disappointed in the customer service not the food. I believe the bus boy was more attentive then the waiter. We even tipped the bus boy for attending us better than the waiter. Didn’t get his name all I know is he rides motorcycles. Management should commend him...

Great Seafood

By CRM519 |

You are not coming here for the atmosphere but you are coming for the freshest seafood you may find around here. Sit upstairs to get a good view of the river (and not smell the gas from the boats). Everything we ate was super fresh and delicious right down to their tostones!

Place to be for seafood in Miami

By Donny Pusawong |

What a great casual place to get fresh seafood in Miami! Come as you are, I came in shorts and t shirt! Seating both inside and outside patio looking over the river. The seafood was fresh and well cooked. Strong alcoholic Mojitos. Good service and great views at night. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Had to park a few blocks away since this could be a little bit more difficult. My favorite thing to eat here were the Stone crabs and the mustard dip they have. If you are like me and love crab but have just been used to Dungeness crab in the west coast, you need to try it!

If in Miami DO NOT MISS

By Antonio |

The place to come for crab claws and fish ! Don’t just order 1 dish ! I recommend you order a couple to try all the wonderful dishes !! I highly recommend the fried fish ! The prices are reasonable too !!

The best Spicy mango margaritas

By Azuka80 |

I have visited the place before... went for stone crabs but were out if season this time. Bartender Giovanni was very friendly and attentive. Food was very nice we ordered grilled conch Mahi Mahi and grilled seafood -excellent-. Spicy Mango Margaritas were awesome!. Sat at the bar, it was Sunday afternoon and very busy but they managed to get our order on time... very casual dress code...

Surprise last minute lunch

By mariaaba |

Excellent no frills just great food. Off river dining- food fantastic- lots of options- good pricing. Service great- Augusto our waiter.

Nothing out of this world.

By Javier “El Conde” Torres |

Well let me star by telling you their is NO Parking only valet (expensive). Second the prices for Crab are much higher than Joe’s. Menu limited and expensive. Quality of the food 4 at of 10. Better is Flanagans!! Service average nothing out of this world. NO wifi could believe it. As a tourist they should have free internet to at least down load the menu. They need to get actualized.

Offensive Assumptions

By S.R.S |

So I was with my Grandmother and she was looking for a specific type of fish. This was the probably the 3rd market we checked. My grandmother has a cane so we were taking our time up the ramp. There was a man who held the door open for us, said hello and seemed very polite. As we walked in he pointed out the selection of what they had however he then made it a point to say “oh and we don’t take food stamps”. Now we are Afro Hispanic, but essentially at a glance you see two black women. Me being visibly taken a back and in all honesty very offended (my face didn’t hide it) i tactfully stated “we aren’t paying with food stamps” to which he responded “you know SOME people do”. My Grandmother didn’t find what she was looking for so she checked next door. The man, who I now realized was the owner did hold the door for us as we left and told us to have a good day, but I don’t believe he realized how taken a back and offended both my Grandmother and myself were by his assumption (whether intentional or not). So needless to say it left a bad taste in our mouths and we would not visit that establishment again.

Fresh Seafood with a Touch of Class

By Patricia M |

Our recent visit to the Miami area was a much needed escape from Chicago’s winter. We had a taste for seafood and stumbled upon this treasure. We were so impressed with this restaurant. The service was excellent and we were so impressed with the vibrant atmosphere. The food was so fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my drink as well. The location was great. No problem wit street parking. Make sure you download the Pay By Phone App! You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine at this restaurant.

Great and fresh seafood

By alpinecharro |

We were very happy to find this spot near to Brickell. I was looking for a good seafood restaurant but doesn’t want to pay for the fancy decorations as normally is the case around Brickell. Fresh seafood is guaranteed as they have a market as well in the front. I had a ceviche and a grilled seafood platter. It was excellent!!! Service is very good and friendly, they have a terrace with view over the channel next to the restaurant. They have valet parking from 8usd only !!!. I will definitely go back next year

Filthy!!!

By samlupowitz |

This time was the final straw. The place is beyond filthy. They have no management. They don’t even think they should clean the prior customer’s mess before seating you, and they don’t clear tables until way after the people have left. Most items are frozen. Only a few items are fresh. And their prices are ridiculous. Who would pay $100 per person to eat in a filthy, mismanaged restaurant? Go to a place like Joe’s instead and have a quality experience.

Perfect for a group lunch

By Ruth |

We were seated outdoors, and eventually had water dripping onto our food because it started raining heavily and the canvas overhead had holes in it 😅 but the company I had more than made up for it. Ordered everything on their specials and hit list, love some more than the others. The crab cake and the unlimited crab butter (to be had with the crackers) were winners in my opinion, alongside the Atlantic cod and Mahi Mahi. Worth a lunch.

Service makes the delicious food taste even better.

By Miguel G |

The food was beyond delicious! Eric went above and beyond without even being asked. Was asking him for sides and he guessed that I was vegan and made me my own personal vegan linguine pasta that wasn’t even on the menu! Thank you so much!

Some great seafood options

By Kristin C |

My sister and I came here on recommendation from our hotel- we wanted stone crab. The restaurant is upstairs from the fish store, and we sat at the bar. Stone crab was great, and obviously expensive. There was a little confusion on the menu- it listed hogfish- my favorite- and there was a bit of back and forth with the staff regarding if they did or didn’t have it. Somehow they could only cook a piece that was 1.5lbs, so my sister and I elected to split it. It was absolutely delicious, thank goodness. The sides were a little bit of a letdown- the tostones hard and almost difficult to eat. But we got what we went for, and between the stone crab and hogfish, it was a good meal. The staff was friendly, and was maybe confused because we weren’t regulars.

Spent 10min in line and walked out

By world traveler |

Ignored upstairs by the hostess reception who was nasty. Walked around the place and was shocked to see the level of filth. Left after 10min and would never go back. No place to park.

Excellent Seafood

Best Seafood we had in Miami. Very good prices and excellent food. We really recommend this restaurant. But the dishes are really big, unfortunately we weren‘t able to eat it all.

Local Hangout on the Water

By BaldSerb |

This is a local favorite right on the river. Nice views of boats and more of a laid back atmosphere. Food was delicious and the service was friendly.

Don’t miss this restaurant. Excellent food and service.

By gleesonmg |

We found this restaurant by good luck and fortune on a short visit to Miami. It has a lovely ambiance on the water and clearly is popular. The Mahi with shrimp and Peruvian sauce is the best fish dinner I have ever had. Giuseppe Thomas looked after us so well. The food was served very quickly and it was perfectly cooked and so fresh. Everything was so good, we are going back tomorrow…..

Exquisite seafood

By globetrottingYankee |

I’d say, it rivals any seafood restaurant in the country or even anywhere in the world. It’s casual dining along the Miami river, the balconies/verandas certainly have the best seating. It has a surprisingly short menu, which I always prefer. Start with table fish spread: it’s textured well balanced seasoning and it elevates the lowly table saltine crackers. The Conch Fritters were superb. It’s a house specialty: tender, surprisingly juicy, and very seasoned even without the mustard dip. Then star were the Stone Crab Claws: surprisingly large, meaty, and tender. They are perfect in taste as is: think the blue sea! Then finally the Grilled Seafood Platter was the climax of seafood dining: perfectly seasoned octopus, squids and large shrimps (prawns to the English) with grilled veggies. Truly scrumptious! And ah... the pairing with a Spanish Cava made mid-afternoon dining truly delightful. Highly recommended! Yes, the joint was compliant to pandemic precautions. Properly masked staff, safe distance between tables, and the open air dining on the verandas were a blessing. The waiter was a highly attentive very pleasant young person (He introduced himself as Daniel, cheers to him🥂)

Reting on its laurels, Garcias is a great disappointment

By Patricio G |

Garcias has always been to seafood, what Versailles to Cubam food. By far the most iconic seafood in Miami for decades-Wher e cops and investment bankers can enjoy fresh food. Unfortunately, it is now a dump. Form the moment you park your car the vallet is extorting you $14 dls, as opposed to the $7 dls . The host is far from well mannered. No WiFi, and the service is terrible. The portions have been greatly reduced . Finally. The fish is no longer fresh. In the past, the 1st floor displayed an array of fresh and exotic fruit de mer, no a it is empty. If you want better seafood visit the Catch of the Day, nothing fancy bu pure freshens

Amazing seafood and setting - Peaceful beautiful dinner

By Alex W |

A friend recommended we came here and we were not disappointed! The food was top dollar and the setting was beautiful and tranquil! We had a lovely dinner and the food was super fresh.

Great GARCIA Restaurant

By lovelydashley |

This is a great place. Very cozy. Has a bar, inside and outside eating. You are not at first overwhelmed by the appearance or the parking situation. Parking is very minimum but they have valet parking. You first walk into the fish market where they sell fresh seafood. Then you will need to walk up stairs to the restaurant area. The food was great. I had the butterfly snapper and I was so eager by the presentation that I forgot to take a picture of it before I poured my yellow rice on top it to start eating. The dinner came with 2 sides (about 9 different sides to choose from including yellow rice, mashed potatoes, toastones, Madura, grilled veggie, white rice) and it was 27 dollars. The food was absolutely breathtaking and delicious. Every bite had flavor. The waiters are very nice and welcoming. The food is based around Latin preparation. I have found a new place to eat.

Wha a great place

By Lee P |

We went on a Tuesday evening for dinner. This place was great. Don't expect a five star atmosphere because that is not what they are about. They are about fresh seafood and great meals. Staff were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. P.S. The grilled grouper was amazing!

Fresh seafood!

By Tanya W |

First, the staff are incredible. They genuinely seem like they enjoy their jobs. Our waiter Matthew is one of the best waiters we've ever had. Second, the food is so fresh and delicious. I am truly ruined now when it comes to lobster, florida lobster is far better than any main lobster I've ever had. We had the fried lobster as a starter then both of us got the grilled lobster. The tostones were some of the best too. The Thursday soup of the day Shecrab bisque was simply delicious. I highly recommend Garcia's when you are in Miami.

Resting on its Laurels

By Melissa M |

We decided to revisit this waterside restaurant after several years. Our fond memories were quickly eroded… the dishes we ordered were served lukewarm and tasteless. Prices are reasonable and include 2 sides but the menu needs to be revised to reflect changing tastes. We were also saddened that they closed their next door fish market but you can still buy fresh fish on the ground floor. The best thing about this restaurant: it’s Hemingway decor and bar (and the waiters who are from anothr era). By the way, we still frequent Garcia-owned Camaronera and enjoy it tremendously so all is not lost.

Wonderful evening!

By Denise C |

We were a group of 20 people gathering in Miami Mar 8th night before a cruise. Garcia's was within walking distance to where we were staying so decided to give it a try! We were all happily surprised by the wonderful staff and food! We were directed to the "downstairs" back deck along the waterway! Great, relaxed ambiance and food was fantastic!! Would definitely highly recommend! Thank you for everything! Denise from Canada

Great welcome to Miami!

Excellent fresh seafood with tables in a terrace overlooking the Miami River. Located near Dowtown Miami. They have a full bar and great service. A true Miami experience. Casual atmosphere.

By Elfma |

Sometimes it's just luck. Fishmarket in the front with a counter, two story dockside restaurant in the rear. Watch crazy megaboats come in. Location, menu, service, prices and tunes. Checked every box. Conch fritters, grilled mahi Caesar salad and grouper platter. A bit of a Cuban vibe. Thanks for the lovely serenade Oliver. Probably as reasonable as good, fresh seafood gets. Sandwiches, too. Lots of cops eating here and we think that's a very good sign of consistent quality and service :)

Delicious Seafood

By A3650YYjulieg |

The first time I had grouper and it was so good that I went back a few days later and had the mani mani. It did not disappoint! The service is very good as well. The waiters are friendly and attentive. Nice views from the outside deck. Birds are close by.

Seafood at its Finest

By Damon D |

Find yourself in Miami then take the opportunity to go to the World Famous Garcias Seafood Grille & Fishmarket and partake in their delicious seafood meals. Family owned and operated since 1966, Luis Garcia leads his Talented, Personal and Professional Team to ensure they deliver their best on a daily basis, and they do. To our delight, our personal server was Omar Soto. Omar was great in helping us select the best of the best from their fabulous menu. Starting off with APPETIZERS we selected 1/2 dozen Fresh Oysters on the Half Shell and Seared Scallops in a Garlic and Lemon Sauce, they were outta this world. For our main course, we selected Grilled Salmon with a Caesar Salad and fries and I ordered the Stone Crab Platter. The platter consisted of 3 JUMBO, and I mean JUMBO Stone Crab Claws. I can tell you as a San Francisco native I have had more than my share of Crab Claws but none as good as you can get at Garcias. We finished with Key Lime Pie naturally and it was great as well. When you interface with the Staff you know that the Garcia's put a lot of time into and reward their Team to give you the best dining experience possible and they do. The ambiance of the restaurant is genuine and you now that you are in a family owned and operated business along the beautiful Miami river.

Old place,good food.

Overall good food,it should be updated but the food still good. I didn't like the inside smell to much but yes to the menu .

Fresh seafood riverside!

By Dorothy M |

Had lunch with friends. Not our first visit, but we go only when we are in town. There is some street parking. Try to eat out on the waterside deck on the Miami River. Coconut shrimp, fresh oysters, tostados, whole fried snapper, and oh, yes, jumbo stone crabs. Everything was perfection. Had a mango margarita that was delicious.

Great Food Great Location

By Mayssoun Adams |

Love the food, the ambiance, the location. We ordered Grilled Seafood platter, Lobster Ravioli, and grilled Mahi Mahi with Side of French fries and Rice and Salad. The service is fast and the food was awesome! would definitely visit again.

Old establishment, great food

By Dustin C |

Good service great food great mojitos. They catch most of their fish and it is fresh. Try the stone crabs!

Friendly people with nice setting on the river

By rkaemp |

All the food was good but not outstanding. We had oysters (never have oysters from FL they are just not that good. We had calamari which was tender and the dipping sauce good. I had the crab stuffed shrimp with lobster bisque before. The lobster bisque was very good and the shrimp were nice. My wife had the avocado salad and tuna tartare. She said they were average. The person with us had the seafood Zarzuela which he said was good. Not sure I would go back but if I did I would try the whole fried fish. It looked very good. Our server was great.

Back again and it's just as awesome!

By WyouandI |

I visited Garcia's again, this time on a Monday and although the downstairs section was not open, it didn't disappoint! I believe I was greeted by the owner and sat at the bar to have dinner. I ordered the blackened sea bass that comes with shrimp and my two sides were yellow rice and a house salad. The sea bass comes in a cilantro sauce that is pure heaven. I normally put some rice on the sea bass dish to make it more of a combo and the salad was a nice option as well. The salad comes only with Italian dressing and it seems very old school like an old Italian restaurant would serve, a more yellow colored dressing. While I was waiting for my dinner a waiter brought over some fried calamari that was sent over by the owner! BONUS :) That came with a marinara style sauce to dip it in and it was very good with some lime juice squeezed on top. I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong ordering anything at this restaurant and if you get to sit outside it just makes it that much more amazing. The wait staff are very polite and attentive and you should not miss this place if you are in the area.

The food was excellent

The food was excellent and our server Abdel was even better. We will definitely be back! Service was also fast despite it being busy!

Sea food restaurant with a beautiful view of the Miami river

By houstonman344 |

The restaurant staff recommended the grilled grouper with 2 side dishes, crab salad. All tasted so good. Have a table outside so you can watch the boat traffic on the river.

Miss it

By Jay K |

Nasty, over salted fish, instant potatoes, and cheap minuscule portions. Nice for a view of the water but the food is way, way too overpriced for what it is. Go anywhere else.

Casual, relaxing, great view of the boats, and great seafood!

By Astrida M |

We have been to Garcia's many times for lunch. It has always been good food and friendly service. I love that it is a casual place with lots of character in their decor as well as being situated right on the Miami River. We love watching all the boats and yachts sail by. There are 2 floors here. The first floor has their fish market, where you can buy fresh seafood and find some seating. The second floor is the dining area and the bathrooms. Also, a great view of all the boats on the river. There are stairs to go up and also an elevator. Garcia's is a family owned business, and they take pride in selling only the freshest and best seafood. That's why they have been in business for years at this location. We ordered Grilled Jumbo Shrimp, grilled salmon, mashed potatoes and veggies (carrots and zucchini), plus the hot honey cheesecake. Everything tasted so good! We had house water with our food. We relaxed and enjoyed the vibe. We look forward to our next visit here. The service was great. Our server was Loidel and was attentive and friendly. Parking is by valet or street parking.

Still great food. Terrible service

By DoxieGal58 |

We visited on a recent Saturday evening. Although we were there at prime time, we were quickly seated at a waterside table. The restaurant was not busy at all. Our server was friendly and outgoing when we saw her, which was rare. She quickly took our drink and dinner orders, then disappeared. It took 30 minutes to get a glass of wine. My entree arrived after 45 minutes. When my dining partner's meal was not in sight, we cancelled it. The other diners seemed to have the same experience; food was very slow to come out of the kitchen; the servers were not around. I can deal with this if the restaurant was busy and if our server, Karen, kept us informed. Neither was the case. I've loved Garcia's over the years, however this was our last visit. In addition to the horrible service, it seems prices have almost doubled over the past year or so, much more so than other restaurants.

Sooo good!!

By simona |

A great place to watch the sun go down and enjoy some great seafood. Staff a friendly and helpful. I cam late afternoon on a Tuesday so it wasn’t too busy and I was able to sit on the veranda, I imagine it gets crazy of an evening or on the weekend. Came for the crab and was not disappointed. The grilled shrimp and oysters were great too!

This place overlooks the Miami river, serves great seafood with a friendly staff. My husband and I very much enjoyed it. The small seafood platter was grilled and a nice variety. The fish dip is appeitizer is a must have.

Perfect view of boats

Perfect view of boats cruising the Miami River. Yellowtail was cooked well and i really enjoyed the tostones. Finished off the meal with the carrot cake and an espresso.

Garcia's

By Katie W |

It sits right on the Bay where you can look out at the city skyline or watch the boats come by. My husband and I ate here for lunch on our first day in Miami and the food was excellent. If you sit by the railing don't be alarmed if you have a little bird friend who wants some food too:)

Good but very expensive stone crabs

By John L |

If you are looking for ambiance, this is is not the place, however, that being said, the location was along the river where you can watch the expensive yachts glide bye and the stone crabs were delicious, but very expensive ($50.00 for five large)

SAD CULINARY EXPERIENCE

By Jeannette R |

My husband and I ordered a dozen oysters, Crab Claws and Paella. To our surprise, oysters and crab claws were served half frozen. Apparently, they were left over from night before. Paella was oily and rice was overly cooked. Waiter picked up Oysters left on the plate we only could eat 6, he never asked what was wrong nor he seemed to care. Either he is used to seeing this or he does not care at all. As a travel consultant, this is a stein for the Restaurant's reputation.

Worst Seafood restaurant in Miami

By o_cabrera1 |

If you frequently look for a local seafood restaurant, look elsewhere. We visited for an afternoon lunch to celebrate a birthday and I couldn’t find anything positive to say about the restaurant. Our food was tasteless. The grilled shrimp wasn’t deveined, neither was the fried shrimp. The tostones didn’t have salt, the maduros had an over ripened taste. Even the water was terrible; when the water was refilled, they refill with room temperature water. To be honest, they aren’t the cheapest place to eat, but I assure you, there are much much better places to eat for much less. The food is tasteless. Their shrimp bisque which was the soup of the day, tasted like pure cream out of the carton. The oysters were just a littler larger than the size of a quarter. We sat outside on the deck of the first floor and next to our table, a large slab of the drywall is falling off. Overall our experience was not a good one. We were all very very disappointed, in the food, ambiance, establishment. We will never return to García’s Seafood Restaurant.

Good food, but.....

Good food and service. Watch out for Valet parking. Sign says $10.00, but they charge $20.00. When asked they said they had no more $10.00 parking left🤔. Restaurant should not allow this!!!!

Great seafood restaurant

By Daniel B |

The food is good. Ambience is nice, I like to have dinner by the water. One problem, it smells bad (I think it is coming from the river). I have dinner downstairs probably upstairs is better (I was never upstairs, will try next time)

A great place for fresh seafood.

By Alex K |

On the Miami River, sits a landmark place to have fresh seafood in a great chaotic atmosphere. This place serves up its food in a bustling and busy place and the food is great. The stone crab claws are so good that you’ll ask yourself, Joe’s who? The smoked fish dip is so good, you’ll want to take some home. The mahi mahi is perfectly seasoned and prepared. This is a great Miami restaurant and deserves a visit.

Afterwork meal

By Hector V |

The place was rundown and lack of maintenance. The host did not greet us and servers were horrible they had straight faces no politeness neither people skills. I had a mahi mahi blackened it was overcooked.

Miniature portion sizes

By jleonardohernandezl |

Taste was ok but the portion sizes were minimal. The shrimp bisque had no shrimp. The grilled Mahi Mahi portion was 4 ounces at best…prices are disproportionate to value. Will not be coming back

No service

By Persnickety |

Butterfly snapper was excellent, unfortunately the server that took the order NEVER came back. He went behind the bar right in front of us and didn’t make eye contact again. The food took forever to come out, no explanation given. When we wanted something we had to grab anyone of the staff that happened to walk by. A sincere disappointment since it’s a Miami “landmark”; will not come back in spite of the good food.

DONT COME

By Jaime C |

Horrible customer service, slow, dirty and not good quality at all. You don’t get your money worth not even in a million years. If you want seafood, DONT COME this place. You cook better at home, literally. So sorry for this guys, it seemed they had a good run (20 years ago…). Also, it smells, at least when you are coming to the first floor patio.

Expensive and bad!

Bad food, tasteless, and man…We ordered a grilled seafood, and everything on the taboa tasted the same, SAFFRON!! I don't recommend it and I won't return!

Freshest fish in Miami

By Meinard Jan B |

Lobster, fish, shellfish. As fresh as it gets, and well prepared. Prices are affordable and the people very friendly.

Overpriced and the food was

By Gustavo G |

Overpriced and the food was more like fast food of sea food. I had jumbo shrinks with rice and fries, wouldn't come back

Amazing view at night

By Christina W |

My meal was not good, I had the blacked grouper and it was dry so I sent that back. Then I ordered the seafood creole, I did not like that either, there was no seasoning on the seafood and the sauce did not have any creole favor at all, it taste just like tomato paste, so disappointed. I will not be returning.

Once upon a time…..

By cacoRiodeJaneiro |

The place is decadent, dirty, bad food, cold and tasteless, it was expensive for free, imagine the price they charge, tasteless oysters, rice and cold side dishes, and octopus, shrimp and scallop with no seasoning or flavor whatsoever!

Fresh seafood, disappointing desert

By Straveer |

Great fresh seafood! We had the fried conch, snapper and grill seafood plater. They were all delicious! The service and ambiance were great. However, the desert was quite disappointing, it is not made at the restaurant, it is more supermarket quality which at this type of restaurants you expect to have a great full experience from beginning to end. Next time we will just go elsewhere for desert after our meal.
