We stopped at Gino's after a wine tasting/party. We had heard good things about it. We sat outside on a pretty hot day as it was cooler outside. Our server came right away and we chose glasses of barbera and nebbiolo, both were very good. We chose the Cioppino and linguine with clams as our entrees. We started with a huge ceasar salad for two that filled our salad bowls twice over. The entrees came and were both delicious. The cioppino had plenty of the seafood in a very good broth. The vongole had great pasta and plenty of clams. I think there are better Italian places in Portland, and it's a bit pricey, but you cannot go wrong at Gino's

I guess I should start by saying this is a popular restaurant. By 6 pm every table is full. So my opinion is only that- my opinion. The sign above Ginos says that it used to be a German restaurant. I saw many plates (large plates) with a side dish of mashed potatoes. This is not a traditional Italian dish. It is a traditional German dish. Nevertheless We ordered. I somehow wound up with pot roast with a vinegary vegetable (red cabbage? I never did find out what it was). It was a huge plate of pot roast- enough for about three people. I never eat a Big Hunk of Meat and am mystified how and why I managed to order this. I was expecting a delicate slice of roast lamb. Well, it was roast lamb, It was just pot roasted lamb rather than a more Italian oven roasted lamb. My husband had some penne with a pork stew on top. Enough for about three people. On the way out I again saw a lot of plates with mashed potatoes. I guess when the German restaurant went out of business and Gino's took over they kept the original German chef.

Gino's is one of my absolute favorite places to visit while in Portland! The food is simply incredible! I've had some of my favorite meals here! The Chicken Marsala is wonderful. I really love Sellwood in general, but this is definitely one of my favorites for food and atmosphere.

This place is amazing. One of my favorite Sellwood restaurants, the Caesar salad is awesome! Two appetizers are easily enough for two people to share if on the bar side. The drinks are delicious too. I love the cozy atmosphere, the lowlight ambience of the bar. Great place for a date too.

We have been to Gino's several times and have not had an good meal in any of our visits. On the most recent visit we waited for over an hour for a table and had to fight and claw to get anyone to take a drink order. When seated we waited another 1/2 hour before we could get a waiter. We were getting up and leaving and I wish we had just gone ahead and left. We got an attitude and left a note to the management including our phone number and ask him to call. He never did. We live in the neighborhood and like to support local business, but never again will we go back

First time to Ginos. Place was recommended by one of the merchants in Sellwood. Walking into the place – filled with Oak quartersawn booths, tables and a gorgeous oak bar. We started with the sausage on polenta appetizer – the polenta was thick – like a cake. It could have been a meal itself. Very tasty. I had a porterhouse – aged 30 days – great seasoning, excellent steak. Serving sizes were very generous. The service was great. We’ll be back.

Gino's has been around for a long time. Perhaps that's why it never makes the lists of new and exciting restaurants. The menu doesn't change much and the experience is always pretty much the same. However the offerings are solid, very tasty, and reasonably priced. A nice wine list with excellent Italians. The clam and mussel appetizers are great as are the pasta dishes and the salmon entrée.

Very nice for a brunch at a sidewalk table. Salmon fritata and crab cakes were both very good. Service was excellent. Bar seating inside looked rather dark.

We enjoyed our meal here and would definitely return when in the area again. The bruschetta was interesting with three different toppings as was the vegetable salad served with hot ingredients. The rabbit loin was delicious, but a bit rich. The cioppino was good.

We enjoyed the mussels for an appetizer, we shared a Caesar Salad and we shared Grandma Jean's pasta. All were delicious and just about right for two people to share. We had one adult beverage, and did not have room for dessert. This is a neighborhood gem!

This is a magnificent restaurant. Great atmosphere, lovely Italian food, attentive staff. Not too noisy. Seasonal Caprese on the menu just now, is superb. Good bar, excellent and extensive wine list. The wines by the glass are first class and reasonably priced. Beers varied to suit all tastes. Kid friendly, outside seating, where it's not too hot/cold. They take reservations but also accommodate walk ups, although there may be a wait. Really good deserts and lovely dessert wines to go with your choice. We go there often.

This restaurant fits the neighborhood. It is basic, good quality Italian food and a garlic and tomato lover's delight. No "precious" food here. The portions are large and tasty. Pondered whether it would be too noisy based on earlier reviews but we found it jovial.[

I have eaten at Gino's perhaps three dozen times. It's one of my go to places for consistently delicious food, friendly staff, great beverages, and comfortable decor. When the weather turns hot though, Gino's is struggles to maintain a good inside temperature. They turn down the lights, run the overhead fans, but it still feels hot and stuffy. They could use a better HVAC system. This drawback won't keep me from coming back for the delicious Caesar salad and salmon though!

This Sellwood restaurant has some great italian dishes to choose from and those our group had were all very good. Like the bar area at the entrance, and enjoyed a cocktail while we waited for our friends and our table (no reservations). I had a pasta with yummy mushrooms, my husband had something like cioppino and our friends had a pasta with sausage, and another pasta dish. Everything was very well seasoned and filling (took some mushroom pasta home). Will go back again, even without the reservations option.

Went to Gino's in Sellwood, Oregon to celebrate three special occasions with our daughter, her husband and our grandchild ( 3 birthdays and our 51st Wedding Anniversary). Was asked to go to Gino's since our son-in-law loved the restaurant. Had a reservation, were seated and then the rest of the evening went "down hill." Waitress came over, was very nice and friendly and we ordered drinks. Several minutes late, the drinks were served and our orders taken and then we waited, and we waited and we waited; others came into the restaurant and were seated and served and we waited. I called the waitress over and asked where our food was. Finally, the food was served but, only two individuals of the 5 at the table, were served. After another 5 minutes or so the remaining three dishes were finally served. Basic pasta dishes and, all were under-cooked. The pasta was so hard that you couldn't eat it. That was it, called over the waitress, explained the problem(s), asked for our check and left. The waitress was very apologetic, subtracted the 3 poorly cooked pasta dishes and we left. It will be a long time till we return. Fairly expensive with poor service and poor food

I love the vibe of PDX and this place fits the bill - cozy ambiance, food and it's the kind of place families visit once or twice a month. Everybody loved their entrees and I had the sausage and polenta which was dinner and lunch the next day. Had the caesar salad and while they said this was a favorite, I could have passed (not a complaint but just didn't love the salad). Great wine list with lots of options and well priced. Dinner last 2.5 hours. Will go back.

My family and I dined here after arriving at our AirBnb that afternoon. It came recommended from our host. We ordered the ceasar salad for 2, I had a seafood pasta dish and my husband a dish called "grandma Jeans" or something like that. The dressing on the salad was a little different, but it was still good, and we both enjoyed our pasta dishes. Mine had lots of clams and mussels which was nice b/c usually you only get a couple at most places. We sat outside since the weather was nice. There was a good amount of traffic going by on the side we were sitting but it didn't subtract from the experience.

Overpriced steaks- Steaks were VERY FATTY. Service was excellent. Salad was good- Dessert was excellent, Not sure I would recommend this place for dinner.

Like everywhere in the restaurant trade, Gino's has had its 'covid' ups and downs. The good thing is not only have they survived but with the outdoor seating their capacity must be about the same even with social distancing inside. They've embraced 'take-out' for food and wine, which was our weekly life saving treat during the worst of covid. Now they're back in full swing with all your favourite dishes (especially the sea food and the steaks) and the seasonal specialities like the asparagus, sun-dried tomato and gorgonzola ravioli atm. It's just so good to be able to go to this super restaurant again: the food, the wine, the staff and the atmosphere. If you haven't been it's a treat in store for you. If you have been before, you already know what I'm talking about. Enjoy.

Threre were six of us tucked into a booth. Our server was excellent, attentive without being a nuisance. He made very good recommendations on appetizers, entrees and wine. The food was very good, salmon was perfect, pastas a sausages delicious and the wait wasn't horrible, especially noting that it was Saturday night and the place was wall to wall with noisy, happy diners. The only short side was a pork chop that was overcooked to the point that one of us described it as "dried out" We will return again and again.

This has been my family's "Go-To" for special occasions for a decade, and I happily celebrated my birthday there this past Monday. Unsurprisingly, we were met with friendly service, perfectly garlicky caesar salad and mashed potatoes, unique vegetables, and delicious entries. I'll remember for next time how much quieter Monday is than other days of the week. Thank you, Gino's, for your consistency over the years!

A night out to celebrate a birthday. First time here. Crowded on a Thursday evening. Sat by the door which was cold. Started with burrate, then main dishes which were very large servings. Took rest of mine (bolognese) home and it lasted two more meals! Two or even three people could easily share one entre.

We loved our food and drinks, but on a Friday night at peak dinner-time, the restaurant was very crowded (lots of folks love this place!) and a bit noisy making conversation difficult. We'll go back, but on another night and perhaps a bit earlier. Large portions - especially our pasta dishes. Several good veggie choices. A little on the pricy side for a neighborhood restaurant.

I love Gino's. I've been going there for about 15 years. Love the food, love the service, love the Sellwood location, love the old wooden bar, love the informal neighborhood atmosphere, love the booths that make for great private conversation. The portions are enormous, so I always get a second meal the next day from my refrigerator. Sadly, I don't live in Portland anymore, but whenever I go back to visit, I always make sure to include dinner at Gino's. It's what I would call a "Happy Place" to be. Bonus: If you are a solo diner, you can get your dinner served at the bar. The bartenders are always very friendly, and it's more fun than sitting at a table or in a booth by yourself. It's a place a woman could sit at the bar and feel comfortable too. It's not a place where people are going to hit on you.

Not well marked, there really is no sign outside, this is neighborhood restaurant. The food is quite heavy (pasta smothered in sauce) and in large portions. That said it is quite tasty and the lentil soup and salads are excellent. The wine list is quite extensive and very appropriate with plenty of wines below $40. Worth going but expect to take food home.

We had lunch here Wednesday, September 21 largely on the recommendation from our nephew. The waiter suggested the steak on penne pasta. I am somewhat to blame because I do not really like penne pasta. I just did not care for the dish. I ate some of my wife's ravioli which she did not really like. The ravioli was pretty good. I was bothered throughout the meal by a large fly. The waiter was nice. The building was very unique and had a neat ambiance.

This is our new favorite place. You must have the Caesar salad- it is lightly dressed with garlicky goodness. The Dijon salmon is butter smooth and perfectly done. Mama Jean's pasta is terrific, as was the pork stew special we tried. The wine list is intelligently chosen. And the by the glass offerings are diverse. Great neighborhood spot and an easy grab from downtown.

This is a great place, wonderful food and service. We had a large crowd of 12 folks, with a re order of appetizers, Cesar Salad and pasta..everything yummy!!! The neighborhood is awesome too..

Easy seating on a Sunday night. Enter thru the bar door, on the corner, walk to the back for restaurant seating. The menu is filled with delectables! There were 4 of us for dinner and 3 ordered Grandma Jean's pasta. It's a tasty sauce with chunks of different meat types + ribs in a traditional Italian sauce, served with penne pasta. Full of flavor! The 4th member of our party, being only 18 months old, was treated to a baby plate with delicious cheese, fresh apples and crusty bread. Wine and beer list is good. Atmosphere is upscale, but casual with large wooden booths and miscellaneous tables. All the servers seemed to be highly attentive. This restaurant is situated in one of the most desireable Sellwood areas. Highly recommend!

This is a great restaurant, close to my house. They are now open for lunch. I really like the mussels. The menu changes so there is always something different if you go there a lot. Friendly staff. Good wines.

Unique, old fashioned Italian style decor. Very cozy, lots of booths and soft lighting. The first thing I noticed upon entering was it was packed, somewhat loud, and the intoxicating smell of garlic let me know I was in the right place. Walked through the bar, which looks super fun with intimate little seating areas and booths as well as the bar, toward the end of this is the entrance to the restaurant where we put our name on the list. After a 15 minute wait we were seated in a cozy booth. Service was wonderful, the perfect combination of availability to meet each request without hovering or interrupting, our water glasses were kept full. Starter of sauteed shrimp (huge) in butter, wine and lemon, it was ahhhhhmazing. Surrounded by grilled bread to dip in the broth, which was delicious enough to eat like soup with a spoon. Mixed green salad with shaved veggies in vinaigrette topped with chevre was remarkable for something so simple, large shareable portion. (I honestly could have stopped here and been perfectly satisfied.) I chose vegetable lasagna as my entree and hubby had the clams and mussels with spaghetti. Both were wonderful and very large portions. There's no skimping on the garlic, which thrilled us, but you could ask for less if it's not your thing. We finished by sharing tiramisu, we found it excellent and I am pretty finicky about this dish. I would recommend a reservation if possible, especially on a weekend, ask for a booth or spot on the edges of the room or bar, those spots were much more intimate and cozy looking, the tables in the middle of the room felt louder and more crowded. Even so, this would be a great date spot. The guy outside playing guitar is a nice touch, I hear he's there almost every single night, in fact I see him all the time when driving by. We loved it and we'll be back!

Stopped in for tiramisu and cappuccino. Blown away! Authentic recipe from Florence. Chatted with Gino, thanks for taking care of us.

This is just the best neighbourhood restaurant I've been to. They have a great selection of food, a variety of starters, pasta in sauce of the day as well as fish sauce staples, entrees including a selection of wonderful steaks and a good range of deserts. Both the starters and the entree portions are very substantial and quite delicious. They have a very good range of beers on tap and some bottled ones. Without being patronising at all, the impressive wine list would grace any much more up-market restaurant and the, 10 or so, red wines by the glass are excellent quality with a range to suit all palettes. I don't drink white wine, so I can't comment, however with the reds that good, I'd expect nothing less from the whites. It has a great atmosphere, lively without being too noisy or manic. Well staffed with good quality, well trained, dedicated, efficient, courteous, people who are knowledgeable about both the food and the drinks. It's great for all customers including families in the separate restaurant area and in the bar for those who like to eat there. There's outside seating when the weather is good enough. Open for dinner and brunch; thoroughly recommended.

We had a most delicious dinner at Gino's, ordered the caesar salad for 6 - very good value and one of the best I have had. Several in our party had the home made ravioli stuffed with goat cheese and red paprika sauce. My husband and I split the cioppino, plenty for 2 people, served in a fish broth over spaghetti. This was our second meal there and each one was very memorable, we will definitely return! Their Pinot Noir from Carlton was very good. The kind of restaurant you know you can depend on for good quality, service and atmosphere.

We found this place via the AAA guide book. Its on the south side of Portland. We passed it because the old corner bar' Leipzig Tavern sign is still there. Look for GINOs on the door. Its a popular local place. The food was great. A little dark inside for me. My seafood was great. You probably don't need to venture this far from downtown for good food, but if you are on the South side its a good place to go.

My friend has talked about this place for years but have never been able to dine there as it was only open late. Now it is open for lunch as we were there. I had the wild mushroom risotto and was FANTASTIC. My friend also said that the Caesar salad was to to die for. He said that if you had eaten it in the evening your friends could tell where you ate the night before. My kind of local joint! Loved it and will do my best to have an evening meal next time in Portland. Keep up the good meals !

I love coming here with my family, its delicious comfort Italian food. The wine list is outstanding, the bar is dark and romantic. We always start with the family style Caesar salad, it is the BEST I have ever had, and I have never really liked Caesar salad before this place. Before they open, they all peel tons and tons of garlic, my mouth is salivating from how good this place smells. Their happy our is awesome, you can get 2 glasses of wine and their famous Grandma Jeans pasta for under $20. It's in the Sellwood area, which has tons of little boutiques and antique stores, it's an adorable area.

Wonderful atmosphere, great service, superb wine list and excellent food with changing specials. Generous portions too.

We really like the wine by the glass and the fantastic Caesar Salad, enough to feed 3. Every italian dish we ordered was perfect. The service was a little slow but we will definitely go back again. Our guest had ciopinno whcih was excelent, and I had the salmon dijon, while my wife had the ravioli. This is the best gourmet Italian Food in the Portland area. The entrance is thru the bar on the corner, recommend you sit in the main dining room because the bar can get noisy.

My husband and I had dinner here with my son's family (6 of us). We shared platters of mussels and clams which were excellent. The waitress was particularly helpful in finding a table that was cool but comfortable to seat all of us. This is a very family-friendly restuarant. My son's family has eaten here several times and had nothing but good things to say about it. We're from out of town and I guess it says alot that this is where he chose to take us.

Came on a Wednesday evening, not that crowded inside, everyone was sitting outside dining. Our waiter didn’t seem that interested in his job, which was getting our orders and serving us drinks. He mentioned that they had recently changed owners, but that doesn’t explain mediocre service. We started with the Caesar salad family style and it came out fast and was a little heavy on the dressing, but definitely so much salad, we couldn’t eat it all. Also served warm bread that tasted homemade, definite a highlight. Then I ordered the ravioli, which was good, but the sauce was overwhelming with the ravioli. My partner ordered Grandma Jean’s penne pasta in homemade tomato meat sauce, which he said was good, not memorable. Don’t think we can complement the new cook on that evening’s meal, but maybe he needs a little more seasoning himself.

My husband and I went to Gino's for dinner while vacationing in Portland. We were in the Sellwood neighborhood and wanted an Italian meal. The restaurant is charming and we had good service. We both ordered a pasta and I got the Puttanesca over polenta. I asked for it because they don't offer any gluten free pasta. First the waiter said, I will see what I can do when I asked him if I could get the polenta. LOL My entree was delicious but there was so much garlic in it that it over powered the rest of the dish. Even my husband who never complains about his meals said the same thing. I would return if I lived there but I would ask for less garlic in my pasta!

Very disappointed in the food and service we received Sunday January 15th. My daughter and I were meeting with a friend I hadn't seen in many years, she suggested Gino's for brunch at 10:30, the service was really slow, we were the only people in there, and my food was just barely warm. I had the eggs benidict, I have had better at Sharis. There are to many choices for dining in this area so I will never go back. I have read the other reviews and it may have just been an off day or perhaps it is the brunch on Sunday but I really can't recommend this restaurant.

When we decided to invite friends to celebrate my 60th birthday I told my wife that I didn't want to go someplace special, I wanted to go someplace great. So we picked Gino's. It was the right call. There are indeed many wonderful restaurants in Portland. But there are only a few that are great by just being who they are - no pretense, no gushing. We were a party of 10 so we ordered off the Family Style menu - a couple porterhouse here, three salmons there, ravioli and, of course, Grandma Jean's. These followed an array of appetizers and that fabulous garlic-saturated Caesar salad.. We were treated so well and by the end of the meal we all waddled to our cars lnowing that special memories had been created. Gino's made the experience about us, not about them, and I appreciate that.

Gino’s is located in a historic building in the Sellwood neighborhood. The restaurant and bar is furnished with attractive antiques and vintage items. We sat in a comfortable booth for both Sunday brunch and dinner on Monday. We both found the fare at Gino’s to be excellent and portions adequate. For brunch, I enjoyed a swordfish bagel plate accompanied with house-pickled mixed vegetables and sautéed mixed greens while my partner tried Gino’s scramble. For dinner, my partner enjoyed the house cioppino served over spaghetti pasta with buttered toasted Italian bread while I tried the roasted chinook salmon served with lightly buttered mashed potatoes and braised mixed vegetables. We both enjoyed the naturally savory flavors of the meat, fish, vegetables and broth in these dishes. There was no need to add a spice, sauce, relish or condiment to enhance their flavor.

Some of the very best and unique Italian food I've had in the city. I had this, last time I was there and I think I may have to have it almost every time. >Grandma Jean’s – My Nonna Always had a pot full of tomoatoes, pork ribs, stewed beef and pepperoni simmering on the back of the stove< One of the many great items on the menu.

haven't eaten here although the food looks good - but the margarita's or ginorita's are great, especially for $8. good bar atmosphere and booths to sit in.

Always a fabulous meal, great wine list, wonderful service, lovely ambiance - not fancy but warm and inviting.

We had a very nice meal with a great wine - a Barbaresco from Italy that paired so nicely with Mama Jean's Pasta. My son also said it went well with his steak. The cesear salad was awesome!

This restaurant has it all: food, staff, wine, atmosphere, the works. The staff is super friendly and very professional. They are well trained and knowledgeable about, not only the menu but the extensive and excellent wine cellar. Service is always prompt and efficient, good sized portions with first rate ingredients beautifully put together without the "one ingredient too many" which seems to be the rage in some places. Excellent steaks. Beer, cocktails and good desserts and dessert wine, brandy or or liqueurs to finish off a memorable evening.

Gino's has something on the menu for everyone. Pasta (grandma jeans is awesome) a great filet, and wonderful Salmon Dijon. Arguably the best Cesar salad in town (must love garlic). Bar staff know how to make solid drinks and the wine menu is extensive. This coming from a bit of a wine snob. They have some outdoor seating if you don't mind a little traffic noise. Great find!

With a bit of strategic planning it is possible to snag a cozy booth at Gino's on a Saturday evening as they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. It is a warm and bustling neighborhood place, carved out of two store fronts and the sign reads "Liepzig Tavern", not Ginos, I guess you have to know about the place. We all had a wonderful meal. Our server was pleasant and knew her wines, her cheerfulness and efficiency added to a great dining experience.

The steamed clams were delicious.. Cesar salad for two impressive.. Hanger steak done perfect medium rare.. Delicious mashed potatoes.. The grandma jeans over spaghetti instead of penne was a classic..

This is a very good Italian restaurant. I would honestly give it 5 stars except, the menu was very limited and it only had a few choices. I got a pasta with mushrooms and some bean. I’m not sure what it was completely but it was delicious!

the food, wine and service were professional and special. Our server had detailed knowlege about the available wines and directed us to an appropriate wine for our dinner (actually twice, since we experimented with a different wine for the second bottle). Time and time again, we discover that Gino's is a real good restaurant hiding out in Sellwood.

A warm, cozy environment in which to talk and enjoy friends and family as you savor their full menu. They can change the pastas and the sauces as you wish They are attentive to beverage service without getting in the way of your gabbing. We look forward to returning for more treats.

Good room, good atmosphere. Also tables on the sidewalk. Good martini but small. Caesar salad, we split a big one, was very good. My husband loved the mussels. Friend loved his thick pork chop. I wanted to love pasta puttanesca, but in my ignorance did not realize that it would be loaded with capers, which I dislike. We took a box for it back to the hotel room and warmed it up a couple days later. It was wonderful, especially if you dodge the capers. My husband love it just the way it was. Waiter had no charm , no smile. Poor thing. he was also slow to bring martinis.

You won't find better traditional Italian in Portland. Another surprising find here is their filet...in our opinion the best in town!!! Has been and will continue to be our favorite restaurant!

You know it's good when I have to think twice about writing a review because I'm worried the place will get too popular. Simply excellent food, good service and the longest wine list I've ever seen. The only downside I could possibly see is if you are a vegetarian the number of selections my be somewhat limited, but the one vegetarian in our family had a fabulous meal.

Seductive spot no doubt, classic corner with original signage and what not, but their knowledge of Italian cuisine, much less how to serve an Italian dinner, is regrettably mediocre, and shameful for the price. Our first crack at it we order the pasta putanesca ($17.25) and a rib eye ($43.95, they were out of the filet). The pasta was so salty that it was totally inedible. The prime rib was almost as bad, as was the vegetable side it came with. Luckily the mashed potatoes we're there. We barely poked at the pasta, and after literally 4-5 bites of the steak, we decided to do something we never do and ask to send it back. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating, but upon return told us that they would not charge us for the pasta but could only give us a family discount on the steak. Although we 30% of it at best, we didn't protest and just wanted to leave. Considering this alleged fine dining establishment doesn't provide anything in the way of complementary foods, we left hungry, but not totally defeated. We decided to give it another try, and this time went straight to the bar and had the Shrimp Scampi. Although edible, it lacked any depth to charge $16.75 (which is not really that expensive, hence its quality). We overheard at least two other tables complaining, the first about service, the other trying to find the silver lining of a meal they probably dropped way too much money on to all out criticize. To summarize, great spot to get a cocktail on your way to the olive garden, or a real Italian restaurant. Don't buy the hype here on google reviews, something tells me these patrons aint all that up on their Italian.

We live in Sellwood and have patronized Gino's for over 10 years. In the past we enjoyed good food and service, however, our experience there last night was less than spectacular. My partner and I were treating a friend to dinner for her birthday and we wanted it to be special. It was in fact downright terrible. The hostess was rude and the wait staff inattentive and unfriendly. After a wait for a table (which we expected for a Friday night) we were seated in the bar at a cafe size table under a TV screen and next to a group of loud, intoxicated, foul mouthed people. I asked the hostess if we could sit somewhere else and she said she would move us. We never saw her again. When I went looking for her she said she was too busy to talk to me but would stop by our table later. She never did. And to add to the negative experience our waiter took our order but the food was served by staff other than him and he never checked up on us to insure we were happy. Our combined bar and restaurant bill came to over $230. You would certainly think for that we would have had better service; we didn't.

I saw this old building and wondered what the bar might look like. I am so glad that I walked in to have a look. This place has a restaurant and a bar section. The decor is lovely. But the old wooden bar is a true classic! It looks like it is very old and it has some great detail work all along its length. The ceiling lamp also is an old masterpiece from days gone by. Sure makes sitting at the bar with a drink feel like you are sipping and slipping in to the past.

I always order the mussels. Sometimes I will split the Caesar salad with my husband or daughter. My husband loves the Grandma Jean's pasta dish. We have had dishes over the years that have been fantastic but they change the menu and sometimes you never see that entree again. I had to laugh at the reviews regarding waitstaff. Although we have never had an issue, I can see where someone might get the wrong vibes. But really, everyone has been nice and if they get busy, just give them some slack. We live on the river just down the street and this is so close. We go early so seating is never an problem. It is nice to sit outside during the summer or nice Fall/Spring days. Give it a try!

This is a wonderful place and if it isn't a "destination restaurant" for you, it should be, it certainly is for me and I'm not selfish about sharing really good places. Having got that off my chest... it's great, atmosphere in spades, excellent food and wine. Great service from friendly, well trained and knowledgeable wait staff, great bar staff (one of them's a juggler, when he feels expansive). The food is superb, several pasta dishes, I love the ones with sea food and the lamb ragout is my current favourite. Excellent steaks from the Painted Hills in Oregon as well as other locally sourced produce. Large portions so be prepared to take a box home (psst, it's just as good the day after!!) The wine list would grace the Ritz. The most fantastic selection of Italian wines as well as local and other European, and elsewhere, by the glass and by the bottle. Approach any of the wait staff about the wine, they've had great training and really know their stuff. Several dessert choices, some Italian ones. To go with dessert, or on its own, have a Vin Santo (Italian dessert wine) to top off the meal. 2 vintages available last I looked. Superb stuff, difficult to find but almost overwhelming flavour, so intense, not too sweet, wonderful nose, served (correctly in my opinion) at room temperature so you get the full experience. Only please don't drink it all, I'm right there behind you, waiting for my glass! Can't wait to go back.............see you there!

Excellent food, service and wine list. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. It has a warm, quirky atmosphere too.

Food is pretty good, but always served with an attitude. Edgy service might be bad enough to keep me away

We decided on Gino's after reading reviews and looking at their website. What an absolute joy, from the warm atmosphere to the service (lovely tall gal who has worked there ten years, thanks!) to the amazingly wonderful food. We're from out of town, but felt very at home there. We will definitely return next time we're in Portland!

We love Gino’s and return there whenever it is possible. Most items are best shared with someone you love. Our favorite dinner is small Caesar salad shared. Mixed shells putanesca shared. And either the pork chop from Carlton farms or the T- bone / porterhouse steak shared as well. And we always have a doggy bag for Olivia. This is a true feast that is consistently excellent! They have an incredible wine list at fabulous prices. Service is superb!

Terrible experience! An incompetent waiter who delivered unordered food, gave out incorrect checks, and was inattentive. When owner was called over, agreed that there were mistakes and that the checks were wrong, but refused to correct any of the mistakes. We were told that it was "our problem" not his. We will not be back!

Ten of us (the whole family) went here for dinner. We have eaten here before, when we come to Portland to visit the g-children, so we knew what to expect. We were not disappointed. We ate "family style" with muscles, Caesar salad and pasta. Even eating to our full effort, we brought home leftovers. Another nice meal to a well run eatery.

My son and I in the past years have made Gino's a place to go when we wanted very good food After not visiting Gino's for an extended time, my son wanted to take his wife and son and treat me, his father and wife to a very special 70th birthday dinner As I stated earlier that this was the place to visit when you wanted an outstanding dinner,we ordered our food which were three steak dinners and one pork chop, while waiting for our food to arrive, we talked on how good the food was in the past and our mouths were watering for it to arrive. When our food arrived to our surprise it was nothing like what we had in the past, out of a scale of 1-100, I would have given it a 110, after this meal we had, It would be hard to even give it a 35, the potatoes were very bland, no garlic at all and almost warm, the veges were strange and the steaks, yes the steaks were and this word does not describe the meat was very disappointing , no flavor and WAY over priced for what they were, in fact, the whole meal was way over priced for what it was. Some where along the way,and this is just my option, just another place to eat On a lighter note, the wait staff was very good and just like the way I had remembered from the earlier visits Summing this up, myself and wife along with my son and his wife will not be back, and yes, our meal cost my son, $189.75 dollars without the 20% he left As I said earlier ,before was the best, now it just another place to eat Best Regard Larry

We've walked by a hundred times and never thought of entering the Leipzig until our friends asked us to dinner at Gino's. Hidden inside the the Leipzig ( finally asked at the bike shop up the street ) we met our friends who were already tucked away in a dark booth , nursing a late afternoon brew. After adjusting our eyes to the darker interior, we noticed the very cool , old oak bar and mantel behind the bar . Our server was there promptly to greet us and take our drink orders. The menu looked enticing and after a few minutes, we settled on shrimp and mussel apps . We also ordered 3 dishes to be split, family style. The shrimp apps were served in a garlicky butter sauce and the plate of mussels ( huge critters ! ) were bathed in a tomatoey sauce. Served with dipping garlic bread, both were good . The main couses : Pasta with diced eggplant, ravioli in tomato sauce and the spedini were all well prepared and plentiful ( 3 dishes were more than enough for all of us and a take home box!). Gino's use of garlic in several dishes is comforting ( no visits from nocturnal vampires ....that's for sure!). Our favorite was the amazing caesar salad! Exremely well prepared , served on chilled plates! and also very well endowed with gaaahlic, the salad will be worth a return trip alone! No room for dessert, we all had a satisfying, well served meal at the hidden Ginos

We have been going here for years and it never fails to disappoint. We love their food and the service is great. Definitely order their Caesar salad, but beware it is huge and very garlicy! Grandma Jeans pasta is another favorite. There are so many dishes I love here, I have never ordered something I didn't like. Highly recommend. We go here as a couple and with our kids. Great place.

We went on a Saturday afternoon. They had an extensive brunch menu but we had already had an early breakfast so we opted for the salads on the weekend lunch menu. My husband had the shrimp Louie which he said was very good. I had the steak salad and loved it. The greens were fresh and varied and it came with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, slices of steak and a tasty basalmic dressing. I wouldnt have changed anything about it. Sheer perfection.

Gino's in healthy times was always packed, and the food was mediocre. Go two doors down the road and eat at Portofino. The dishes are perfectly spiced, and the service is spectacular. Gino's is where the "hipsters" go. Portofino is where the Epicurious go. Clams and fettuccini at Ginos is not even "meh"

The food is very average. The prices are very high, and the food is not that great. The place looks a little run down, but historical. The Cesar salad had way too much garlic. No A/C so it was so darn hot.

I have known Marco & Gino's fro years and used to be there fairly often. But we moved to the other side of town and just have not gotten too it ... but that was proved to be a mistake last night ... 3 of s after golf we looking for a spot in Sellwood for dinner & i brought up Gino's neither past had been there ... well the will both be back with or without me> My ravioli in brood was special .. great light broth and perfect pasta pals order cioppino and the others mussels both of which garnered raves on taste. The wine list is extensive and well priced ...

We arrived with friends for dinner. We were trying for a appetizer and just about all the app's were made with fish broth. The clams, mussels and shrimp were all fish broth based. I can do shellfish but have a severe allergy to fish. I just couldn't understand why they can't find a way to do the shell fish dishes without fish broth. So we go for the assorted cheese platter. The server drops off the cheese and I asked her what were the cheeses we were going to eat because they weren't named off on the menu and it felt like I was putting her off. Oh well, onto the main course. No options for meat balls. The ravioli's were way to thick of a pasta and lack luster as far as flavor went. The other dishes were fine just nothing special. Left the restaurant with a distinct lack of garlic flavor in any of the dishes and just wasn't impressed and won't be back.

This was one of the most amazing meals I have had in a long time!! Having worked in restaurants for years I tend to be overly critical......this place topped some my favorite experiences. I was meeting friend I had not seen in 23 years for a drink and some dinner. The staff who greeted me had me sit at the bar to wait for my friend so I ordered a glass of delicious Sicilian wine from the very attentive and friendly bartender. My friend arrived and we decided to just stay at the bar for our time there. We ordered an antipasto which was delish!! And a great amount for two for a starter, not too much and not too little. Then we decided we were wanting a little more so we split a wonderful bowl of pasta. To both of our surprise the noodles were fresh and made there, the sauce was divine and so fresh! Both my friend and I kept going, "This is so good" and "Yummm this is awesome!". The bartender kept our drinks and water glasses full, was more than helpful with food selections and was non-intrusive knowing we hadn't seen each other in over 2 decades. I would drive the 7 hours to go there again just for dinner, it was that good!!!

Since moving to Portland, we have dined here 5 times, even taking out-of-towners, and have always had good experiences. The menu, although not gigantic, nicely covers Italian, seafood, and dishes for meat lovers. And don't forget Grandma Jeans pasta, which is a meal in itself. That was terrific, as I usually opt for their superb salmon dijon. We love their extensive wine list, albeit mostly Italian, but it gives us a chance to try ones that we haven't seen before. I would also give them 9* for circuses. After you walk through the cozy bar, you enter a spacious room with lots of booths available. And the service level has been constantly top notch. We are not particularly keen on Italian restaurants, but Gino's is the exception to the rule.

Great experience & food. Have been here twice. Busy, friendly place - including mgmt & staff. Beautiful 100+ yr old oak bar populated with smiling locals. As with most things in life, go in with a smile and you will come out with one! I'm a SF area guy who has seen lotsa places - and this one is good! Great mix of Italian dishes. NOT a "pizza place".

Poor. The Ceasar salad was soggy with dressing, pasta servings were huge but very average. Putanesca had no anchovies - that is what makes it putanesca. Prices very high for quality of food. Upside? Nice servers.

ginos has a great Cesar salad ,, drinks are good , a little on the spendy side . I had grama jeans and it was not hot

The food is excellent here. The building is funky within the Sellwood neighborhood. Parking close by is available in the neighborhood.

Good basic Italian food. Large Portions. Famous for their "shells" on pasta and even cioppino. Their Grandma's red sauce is perfect on any kind of pasta. It can get busy on the weekends so plan ahead. Family friendly and there are table outside on the sidewalk during the summer months. It is in a funky historic building located in the Sellwood area.

Fabulous neighborhood Italian. The Caesar salad is one of the best we’ve ever had. My wife’s linguine and clams was excellent. My pasta puttanesca was equally delicious. The wine list is many pages long. We had a delicious Super Tuscan. Service was extremely friendly and excellent. Very knowledgeable, and helpful.

As we had a fairly large group of family and close friends celebrating an important birthday, we ordered food that was cooked and served "family style". on large dishes, to be shared. It seemed like home. The food was cooked beautifully and to everyone's liking, even the small children in our group. I am a self-described "wine snob" and very particular about the wine that I consume. I was delighted to discover that the wine list comprised many pages, with offering from all over the world. I was also delighted to discover that the restaurant employs "verietal-specific" stemware. As it has been proven that certain wine glasses are specifically adept at enhancing the best characteristics of certain wines, fine wine is best served using this stemware. I will return often.

This is a great little place in Sellwood, across the Willamette River from Lewis & Clark College. It's full of charm and ambiance with great food (northern Italian but with delightful Pacific Northwest touches such as grilled salmon) and a choice wine and draft beer selection. Busy with locals on the Friday night we were there, with people sitting not only in the main dining room but also at tables on the sidewalk, and in the the classy, classic bar area. Laid-back, casual atmosphere but with very high standards of food, wine, and service and attention to details such as the quality of the olive oil, linen napkins, etc. The perfect antidote to the mass-produced chain restaurants that have infested most American cities. Owner constantly circulating and checking on all the tables. Ask him about the garlic he grows on his farm to supply the restaurant.

It has been years since we last went to Gino's. Decided to stop for dinner and were not disappointed. Cesar salad is huge and chuck full of garlic. We both split the spaghetti and mixed seafood (clams and mussels) in a wonderful rich wine garlic sauce. Needless to say we were stuffed and satisfied. A total must go for Italian in PDX.

My son loves the Mama Jeanie's Italian stew with pasta. I had the mussels in a deep red sauce. My friend's had steamed clams. We were all happy with our selections, and the service was great!!!

It's been in the family for 3 generations. I liked the environment a lot. As I also like the Sellwood area. The sign says: "Leipzig Tavern". I don't recall what I had for lunch. It was OK, I guess, but obviously nothing remarkable. I think this place jumps in the evening. My friend was disappointed that he could not get a Ceasar salad. They are only served in the evening and are huge, I am told. so, I'll return for dinner to try the famous Ceassar salad, but most likely will skip the lunch stop.

Gino's is located in the Sellwood area of Portland. Our son, who spent a year and a half in Italy, and his friend, who is from Milan, took us here for dinner. It was a week night and was still very crowded. The menu is not huge but there are great things to choose from. Everything we had was very fresh and authentic and the portions were very large. The atmosphere is not fancy but is very comfortable and the service was great. There are several tables outside to sit at if you're lucky and the weather is nice.

This is a place to go if you want a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere, with good, old-style Italian food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is typical SE Portland funky. We had a wonderful waiter. Good wine selection. I had the butternut squash ravioli which was great, and we split a caesar. My husband had the pasta with the shortribs, very unusual, huge portions and he loved it.

We ate at this restaurant situated very close to where my daughter lives in Sellwood. The food was good, but the portions were a little too large for my taste. The three of us split the caesar salad for 2 and there was some left over. I had the dijon salmon which was very good. My husband and daughter had the hanger steak and they really liked it.

To my mind this is the kind of place you go to get the food only your Italian grandmother cooked right. It's not a 'chef's school' restaurant so don't expect haute cuisine!

My wife and I stumbled in to Gino's during a recent tour of Sellwood and were pleasantly surprised to find such good food there. The place was quite busy, but the service was attentive. They offered a

This place is great! Old style bar with beautiful dark wood. The restaurant is decorated with kitschy artwork. The drinks are great & the wine list is excellent! My wife & I went with our neighbors & had a great experience. The salmon is excellent. A sizable portion with a heaping pile of mashed potatoes and veggies.

The Washington Post rated Portland as America's #1 Restaurant City for 2016. A list of Portland's hot restaurants will almost certainly not include Gino's. We've eaten at many of those highly-rated restaurants during our many visits to Portland. The meal we had at Gino's exceeded any other meal that we had during our most recent stay. My wife and I loved this place. There's a wonderful informality about the furnishings and artwork. There are five paintings above the kitchen featuring diners in the foreground and Italian scenes in the background. I asked about them, and was told that they were made by their former pastry chef, who has now gone on to a full-time career in art. I was also told that many of the people are family members and guests. All I can say is that this artist is a brilliant caricaturist, and I was mesmerized. Everything about Gino's creates a homey atmosphere. Including the amazing food. We're talking family recipes, everything, including broths and sauces, made from scratch. First, we have to talk about the clams. For $12, we got something like 3 dozen clams in an ambrosial fish broth. Our waiter noticed that we were spooning the broth into our mouths b/c it was so good and, without bidding, brought us some more hot crusty bread to sop up the remainder. I had an incredible pork stew in a rich sauce that would have made the meal by itself. My wife had a perfectly-prepared seared salmon. Gino's serves a wide range of cocktails, plus has a wine list that complements the food. We started with excellent cocktails and then enjoyed wines recommended by our waiter with our entrees. Part of the fun was watching the dance between the waitstaff and the kitchen. They were clicking on all cylinders on a busy Saturday evening. You can tell when you're in a place where the workers love being there. We definitely got that vibe here. If we lived near Sellwood, we'd eat here every week. Unfortunately, Delaware is a long way from Sellwood. Suffice it to say that, when we come back to Portland, we're coming back to Gino's.

We loved Gino's with our party of 9. A fabulous wine list and the service was great! Food is always delicious, you'll never go wrong with Grandma Jean's and a Caesar, if you like garlic! This place is on the expensive side, but continues to be a family favorite!!

We've been going for over 16 years and never disappointed. Mark, and his wife who own Gino's are a unique and friendly couple! The staff tends to stay because of the family atmosphere they have built! Again,,,,love the Caesar!

I was so hoping that this would be a fabulous neighborhood restaurant. The interior is beautiful and old world. The Mussels were the highlight of the meal. They were large plump and tasty with ample sauce for the bread to sop up. Then there was the fish cake special, dry, over cooked and lacked a lot of flavor. The expensive delmonico was more rare not med rare and lacked that aged beef quality which they claimed was dry aged for 25-30 days. I found that to be highly unlikely.

Excellent food and wine list, very good service, lovely atmosphere. We haven't been disappointed yet.

I was on the last leg of a 9 day trip and was tired and needed a nice quiet meal. My hostess suggested I walk up the block to Gino's--a local restaurant. What a welcome delight. I ate at the lovely bar and had the best Caesar salad I have ever eaten anywhere including Italy! The shrimp was also perfect and the bartender suggested a nice Torrontes wine that I enjoyed immensely. I would definitely return.

Tonight was my first time dining at Gino's. It was packed (Sat at 6:30) so I would recommend arriving early. Only street parking is available and it isn't easy to spot when you drive past. The server didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing much about wine. The shrimp appetizer was good and came with bread, so it was enough for two. The Choppino was the best of the entrees we ordered, which was more of a seafood linquine than it was soup. The shake was a good sized portion, but spicier than expected. The ravioli was okay but could use more of a sauce. The cherry cheesecake was unique and good, but I was bummed they were out of carrot cake. The staff was curteous and checked in at the right times. I would rank this numerous levels above the Olive Garden, better than Amalfi's, but lower in quality/less authentic than Pazzo and Fratelli's. I would go back.

Locals love this place. I get it... The ambiance is wonderful! The bar is rustic with beautiful wood and a nice amber glow. I thought this must be the place to come for a good drink. WRONG. Unless you like your cocktails made with syrups, stick with beer or wine. The food's decent, but over priced. Caesar salad is delish, but prepare to have garlic mouth for days.

Looking for Italian food for dinner. Service was very good. The food was authentic. Servings are generous. Staff seemed to work well together. There were no gaps in service. Our group was a party of 7. We were all taken care of. Our server was attentive and kept the meal going.

Being an Italian from NY makes it hard to judge any Italian Restaurant outside NY but I will give it a goAtmosphere was good. Not a lot of noise which made it easy for conversation with a classmate I had not seen in 50 years. I had the Ravioli which was good but I must say way to al dente. Maybe a minute or two would have made it perfect. Everyone else enjoyed their meal.

This place was great! We sat out on the sidewalk and enjoyed the passers by while we ate our dinner. I really enjoyed the Puttanesca. Just the right amount of spice and very flavorful. I'll be back for sure.

They have a great wine selection and I love the atmosphere in the bar area, warm and inviting. I do wish they had a wider range of prices on their menu when you just want a small bite, and don't want to pay a dinner price.

Went her on a recommendation of a local. I had a filet that was excellent. We were seated and served very quickly. My wife had a seafood dish with risotto and it was very good. Atmosphere is casual in an old building setting, we liked it.

We were in the area and had made reservations at a different location, and it was packed. Decided to drive around and found this gem, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great, the classic bar vibe with some historic flare. I was a bit disappointed in the menu selection, as they stated they had lamb on the online menu but didn't have it on the dinner menu that night, but my alternative selection was quite nice. When it came to dessert time, they had ran out of my initial request just minutes before so another disappointment, but again my alternative was tasty. Wait staff was pleasant, atmosphere was fun, and the food was tasty.

This might be my favorite restaurant in Portland. It helps that it is just a few blocks from my house!

This is our local go to place. Excellent food, great wine selection and wonderful service. Their filet is to die for. The Grandma Jean's pasta is fabulous and will feed you for two days. The Caesar salad, mussels and shrimp are top notch starters.

There were six of us dining and we wanted to share everything so we ordered family-style portions of Caesar salad, pasta with steamed mussels and polenta with sausage. Everything was great and tasted delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. We ordered two bottles of red wine that went well with everything and ended the meal with an incredibly delicious tiramisu- a delightful and delicious dining experience!

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and it was a very good choice. Although it was crowded on a Friday evening, we only had a short (15 min) wait. The dinner was started with a beet salad with gorgonzola cheese which was great. For the dinner we selected the Cioppino and the Bolognese dishes both being very tasty. We both were well satisfied with our choices although she thought the Bolognese dish was a little too salty but still very tasty. Along with the great service and wonderful meal, we will be back for another visit.

We were looking for a dinner place and we just followed our noses and it really paid off! We started with delicious clams crusty bread followed with salmon - so good!

My fav in all of PDX, Not cheap but oh so worth it. Ive never had a bad meal here, the staff is super nice but be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend.

We dined here on a hot summer night. We weren't particularly impressed by the food, however, the wine list is quite good and the waitstaff very well trained.

I typically like a place that has a good crowd because the food is great, but here it is simply good-average. I have been here several times and the server seems to be forgetful every time. The food is standard fare with a much better selection just down the street. I only go to this place now if someone else wants to go there.

We sat in the bar for dinner, the bar itself is incredible. Service is very good, drinks were served quickly and high quality. Sauce for mixed shells is awesome for dipping bread, you might need extra bread. Shared ravioli, very good. Wine list is extensive, especially italian/european wines, great quality, but can be expensive. Overall a great choice for Italian food in Sellwood, definitely worth a visit to sit at the bar and have a drink.

The Caesar Salad (to share) is amazing. It is served table-side in chilled bowls. The shells were very delicious - we had mussels and clams and the broth is so delicious we have to order more bread to enjoy the broth! Dipping at its finest. We had wine too, and the servers were on point throughout our meal. Thank you, Gino's and team! In better weather they do have outside seating, which is pet friendly.

The food was great with a big variety of standard & specialty items. Different & very tasty sauces. A good selection of beer & wine. Everything you need to have a very good, hearty meal with great service too!

Went for an early dinner on a Tuesday evening. Our first time so we didn't know what to expect. We enter through the bar & see a few empty tables so ask the bartender if we just seat ourselves. He directed us to the end of the bar & told us they would take care of us there. We were lead to an adjoining room with plenty of seating & got a cozy booth by the front window. It didn't take us long to decide what to eat as we looked at the amazing menu. I was in the mood for seafood & my GF wanted a nice, meaty marinara. I opted for the cioppino and it was amazing! Such a delicious medley of seafood & broth served over perfectly cooked spaghetti. She ordered the Grandma Jean's. A meaty, flavorful marinara with penne pasta & loved it, although there was so much she could only eat half, but had a great lunch for the next day! We asked our server for her recommendations for wine pairings & she nailed it! Could not have been better. I even had to have a second glass. Will definitely come back here!

I had salmon marinated in olive oil, garlic that wasa cooked nicely. The fish was good enough to finish but didn't really wow me. My wife had a lamb mixed grill that was very flavorful and tender. Her brother had a hanger steak that was tasty, was more chewey than even the cut could usually be. Sides were done well. Encouraged to try medium priced but just right Chianti $45. Service was challenging due to the busy night but was correct And with A smile.as first time out of town guests we took a chance and had a nice time.

Strange place. Ate here twice with other people during visit to area. Pastas were very good. Pork chop and beef dishes tasty. Poor quality veg dishes with main dishes (all were same on one visit no matter differences in order). Large wine selection but ones we ordered on $40 and below selection both nights were disappointing. Atmosphere is dark with paper covered table cloths.

Was there with family & had a wonderfuyl Rueban sandwich for my dinner, one I could olny eat about 1/2 of it & the ret later at hotel. Very interesting sports type bar with exellent food choices.

I love this place! We have never been disappointed and have been coming here for about 12 years. The mussels are fresh & are the best you'll find south of Coupeville (where they are harvested) WA! Order them as an appetizer, or in this case both as the appetizer and in a pasta dish and you won't be disappointed. Yes, the tables fill up ~ you cannot get a reservation unless there are 5 or more in your party, but even if you end up sitting next door at The Leipzig (sometimes we prefer the bar), the food is the same no matter where you are seated. Our waiter, Isiah, was awesome; very interested/knowledgeable re: the wine we brought (very resonable corkage $20/btl) and we were happy to save him a taste for after hours. Caesar salad served alongside the table. Food was piping hot, delicious as always (see dishes we ordered below), and we were a mixed bunch (daugher @ PSU, friend who is also a caterer, and old school couple). Wait staff was attentive, and we left very happy with food & service. Get a booth if you don't like the squeezing between tables ~ this is a typical old style Italian restaurant: boisterous, noisy, and wait staff on the run. Our experience was good & we will be back.

All red sauce and noodles. Not enough sausage. I was a bit dissapointed...I'm in a party of 10.... I think it's over priced for the quality of food.

A family oriented solid Italian with lots of local organic ingredients and outstanding garlic bread. In the historic old Leipzig Tavern complex...

Portions are large, service was ok (rather long wait for food, but it was busy), food was average (eggplant a bit boring, and not sliced evenly, so it wasn’t cooked evenly), food was rather expensive. Menu is very limited during certain hours of the day. My complaint is that I was overcharged (eggplant was $19.95 on the menu, I was charged $22.95), not enough of an overcharge to make a fuss, but I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

We were so delighted with our dinner last night at Gino's. Pretty much everything went right! We were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Caesar salad for 4 and it arrived in just a couple of minutes in a HEAPING bowl with 4 chilled plates. It was truly one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. Dinner was equally delicious. My daughter had the Chicken Marsala and enjoyed it, other daughter had the Ravioli and LOVED it, and my wife and I shared the gigantic mountain of deliciousness that is their signature dish - Grandma Jean's pasta. You can read what is in it in several of the other reviews but let me just add that loved every bite and would definitely get it again. This was our first time here but Gino's could become our go-to restaurant!

This is a wonderful place to eat. Often busy and you may need a reservation. Staff are very friendly and professional, attentive without being intrusive, fast service, always with a smile. Food is excellent. Cocktails and beer, wine list is extensive, appropriate and connoisseurs won't be disappointed. Go and enjoy.
Great Little Restaurant
Came across this place by accident. The food was superb and the staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed this place and will definitely go again.
