I went with here with a friend on a Thursday evening for dinner. It is a small place and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. My friend had heard about this place via word-of-mouth and wanted to check it out. Once seated, we started off with a dragon roll and a soft shell crab roll, which were both excellent. For dinner, I had the Shio Ramen and my friend had the Tan Tan Ramen and both were excellent. So much of the food that we saw people ordering looked so good. I cannot wait to go back and try more dishes.

We are there almost every week and are thrilled to have a full Izakaya close to home. We've had many regular sushi places over the years, like Taka and Sushi Huku but when we found out that some of the staff from Hachiguchi Jr. was at a new Izakaya and that we could get ramen close to home we were sold. Try the specials and the ramen.

I love this place and its parent restaurant Shoya near Doraville. The menu and style of the restaurant are more authentic and traditional than modern "fusion" restaurants. They have a huge menu that doesn't try to be too fancy, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. They do ramen, all kinds of entrees and apps, and of course sushi. There is a separate menu for special sushi rolls that shows each roll as a visual diagram, really convenient and cool idea. Its a modest little space (esp this location) thats more warm and casual than dark and bougie. Theres an open kitchen and sushi bar, and you can tell the chefs know what they're doing. There is limited traditional shoeless floor seating in semi private rooms at both locations. One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Atlanta and I've been to most.

Tried this for the first time tonight and was not disappointed. I had a spicy tokontsu ramen and crunchy spider roll. The ramen had a very nice flavor but the chili oil it was served with was not spicy. The sushi roll was solid. It had pieces of salmon on top that were good sized and fresh. This is very close to my house and a very good addition to the neighborhood. Will add this to my sushi rotation.

This place is great! Especially if you are looking for a authentic no pretentious BS casual Japanese restaurant. Most staff are Japanese and you will be greeted with Japanese welcome . Went on a weekend where it wasn't crowded at first, but the seats filled up pretty fast. Had their nigiri sushi and some kitchen items which all were simple and fresh. Just the way I like it since it reminds me of Japanese trip. Highly recommended.

Wife and I stopped in to satisfy a ramen craving. Got the spicy kimchi and seaweed salad to start, both were great. We got the tonkotsu and spicy tonkotsu ramen for main dishes; both very good. We left satisfied and will be back.

The Gin Gin Tonkotsu Ramen is absolutely wonderful! There is plenty of pork chashu and 2 egg halves. I will be a repeat customer!!

I'm no expert on Ramen, so it was great getting some guidance from the staff here. They were quite helpful in walking myself and my friend through the menu. After ordering, a big bowl of very tasty Ramen showed up. I was quite pleased with the depth of taste, as well as the service I received. For around $10, you get very large portion. I don't know how authentic the food was, but it sure did taste good.

Exceptional food, service and quality of food. Fresh flavorful menu prepared with care and delightful creativity. The culinary team always goes out of the way to make everyone welcome.

No vegan options at dinner despite having some at lunch. Seems bogus. Just wanted the vegan ramen we saw on the lunch menu but for dinner. Why is this not possible? Try Jinya in Sandy Springs or Buckhead instead. Plenty of veggy dishes.

Three of us waited 8 minutes for someone to take an order. One bowl of ramen noodle soup and two stir fried noodles. The ramen came out first, and was finished by my daughter and we still did not have our noodles. Before she finished I asked the waiter and he said he just checked and they were on their way out to us. This was not true because we waited another 10 minutes and the food still did not appear. I decided that's enough! We wanted to pay for her noodles and leave and the staff how no clue how to deal with us because we'd ordered food. The manager/owner was called and he kept making excuses--no apology. Then the staff wondered how to change the order on their computer and kept us waiting even longer until I just slapped down $10 and walked out. Hopeless. I appreciate that soup is pre-cooked and they have it sitting there. But stir fried noodles should not take 30 minutes. The waiter also avoided coming near us after spinning his lie to us. Needless to say, we won't be going back and if you do, be prepared for a wait unless you order soup. Who brings out meals at different times anyway? That was the first mistake.

Had dinner on a Friday night--some waiting but not bad. Informal atmosphere. Food was superb--had some of specials (oyster tempura, sea urchin sushi) and ordered ramen. They ran out of one kind of sake but the other one was pretty okay. Too full for dessert--will definitely return. This is our new go-to place for sushi and ramen.

I love this place for the ramen, but the sushi is also very good! The restaurant is quaint, with seating for groups and smaller parties. There's also bar seating, if you're grabbing a solo meal. The menu is pretty extensive, and it's worth trying a lot of different things! The location is perfect for after work dinner and drinks!

This place has good Japanese food. Had a California roll, fried tempura, shrimp rolls, and the Ramen. It was all really good. The ramen was as good as other ramen dishes I've had in Atlanta. One thing about the restaurant I didn't like. It was really cramped and the restaurant decor was a bit dated. Probably a place I would enjoy more for lunch.

For fans of fiction, passionate bookworms, and anime lovers alike, this restaurant is nothing short of a dream come to life. Imagine stepping into a scene ripped straight from your favorite anime—the kind where vibrant food glows with life and energy. From the moment I crossed the threshold, I felt like I’d been transported into the heart of an anime like Naruto. The ambiance, the details, the aromas—it all came together in a way that felt surreal. As I entered, the first thing that struck me was the smell. It wasn’t just food—it was an invitation. The rich, layered aromas danced in the air, wrapping around me and guiding me toward my seat as if I were under a delicious spell. The décor was equally captivating. The walls were a tapestry of nostalgia, adorned with signed memorabilia, iconic images, and collectibles displayed in pristine glass cases. Everywhere you looked, there was something to marvel at—pieces of culture that told stories of the past while celebrating the present. The restaurant also boasts a fully stocked bar, blending American classics with Japanese staples. Whether you’re into cocktails, sake, or just trying something new, the bar offers a little of everything. Even as someone who doesn’t drink often, I could appreciate the variety and the artistry behind the offerings. I wasn’t alone on this adventure—I brought along a group of friends and my girlfriend. As it was our first visit, we collectively decided to go big and order a little bit of everything. Our table soon became a smorgasbord of incredible dishes: Rainbow Roll Sushi, Tonkatsu, Takoyaki, Taiyaki, Tempura Green Tea Ice Cream, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Chicken Karaage. Each dish was a masterpiece, crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of seafood, so there was one dish I didn’t enjoy as much as the others. However, I could tell it was impeccably fresh and skillfully prepared. For anyone who loves seafood, this place would be absolute heaven. The other dishes, especially the fried items, were phenomenal. Everything was fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and never overly greasy. The Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream was the star of the show, a perfect blend of creamy sweetness and delicate green tea flavor that left me craving more. The service here deserves a spotlight of its own. Every staff member exuded warmth and attentiveness. Even those not assigned to our table would stop by to ask if we needed anything or to check if we were enjoying ourselves. Their camaraderie and teamwork were inspiring—it was clear they took pride in their work and genuinely cared about every guest’s experience. The restaurant was buzzing with activity, yet the energy was uplifting rather than chaotic. Thanks to our online reservation, we were seated quickly despite the packed house. It’s no wonder this place draws such a crowd—it’s a sensory overload in the best possible way. What truly stood out to me was how this place managed to exceed expectations in every way imaginable. It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails every detail, from food to atmosphere to service, but this one did it effortlessly. It set a new standard for what dining should be: not just a meal but an immersive experience that engages all the senses. If you’re an anime fan, a lover of rich flavors, or someone who simply appreciates excellent service and vibrant culture, you owe it to yourself to visit this place. And even if anime isn’t your thing, don’t let that stop you—the food alone is worth the trip. Don’t just walk here—run, fly, teleport if you have to. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an adventure. One I’d gladly embark on again and again, a million times over.

It is a great restaurant with a very authentic feeling when you step in this place. Which reminds me of Izakayas ( Japanese tapas, Gastropub )in Japan when I visited. The sushi was great as it was honest and fresh. They are known for their ramen which I enjoyed it a lot! Got the spicy Tonkotsu ramen. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out there are a lot of Japanese chef on the line, which you never see it these days. Recommended for people who wants non pretentious relaxed casual good food for good price. Actually for anyone LOL

We went based on a recommendation from our Japanese stylist. We were very excited to see many authentic Japanese dishes on the menu. The ramen menu is fantastic. Sushi was delicious. They even have Taiyaki, which is one of my favourite dessert. We went with our children at 5:30pm when they just open for dinner. It started to fill up very quickly. Children loved the food there. We will be back. What a great find!

The sushi was very good. The yakitori chicken was awesome. The servers were very nice and it was very clean. The wine selection is terrible. Price was very fair. Bathroom a tad bit scary.

it was a Wednesday evening and the place was crowded. The restaurant is located immediately after the Southbound exit ramp from I75 and there is parking in the little strip mall in which it is situated. Simple wooden tables and chairs are the norm here but there are a few semi private enclosed tables if you book them. The sashimi and sushi were fresh and prepared nicely prepared and the noodles in broth (ramen style) were excellent. Prices are reasonable $100 for 4 of us and I would definitely go back.

If you want the authentic Izakaya experience, then this is the place to go! I recently got back from a trip to Tokyo and after coming back I have absolutely been CRAVING authentic Japanese food. I went to this place by recommendation of a friend and I couldn't have been happier. The moment I stepped in the door I felt like I had been transported right back to one of the Izakayas that I so enjoyed while in Japan. I was seated at the sushi bar, as they were busy and I went by myself. I got the Tonkatsu Tan Tan Ramen, pickled vegetables, a 5 piece variety plate of Kushiyaki, and Takowasabi. It was all out of this world. It is so hard to find authentic ramen in Florence. So when I heard they had truly authentic ramen, I was immediately suspicious that it was the generic Americanized garbage that many restaurants try to pawn off as authentic. This was certainly not the case here. The broth had such a depth of flavor and that lightly oily texture that is distinctive of traditional Japanese ramen. The kushiyaki was spot on as well, it tasted very reminiscent of the yakitori I had while frequenting the food stalls in Shibuya and Ueno. Lastly, the service was amazing. The waitress I had was very friendly and made me feel right at home. Overall, this was an amazing experience and I would totally make the 4 and a half hour drive back to Atlanta again JUST to eat here.

Small restaurant in an outdoor shopping mall. Easy access and parking from Northside Drive. Very authentic menu with sushi, fish, seafood, yakitori, Ramen noodles, curry, teriyaki meats, desserts, Sapporo and Asahi on draft. We had Chirashi Deluxe fresh seafood on rice - just like Tokyo. Curry topped with pork tonkatsu, raw egg was straight up Japanese comfort food. Mochi ice cream- vanilla, strawberry, green tea. Save room for desserts. Love this hidden gem. We'll return with friends.

No frills izakaya with very good food. We actually went twice in the last 30 days and tried a myriad of their dishes. Some of the highlights: • Very good: renkon chips (fried sliced fresh lotus roots), fatty tuna (toro), salmon carpaccio, shrimp and vegetable tempura, shishito peppers, king oyster mushroom, pork yakisoba, shiitake mushroom, salmon sashimi, plum fish flake onigiri, deluxe sushi assortment, and their rolls in general • Just OK: gyozas and ramen • Weak: tonkatsu So all in all, Ginya Izakaya definitely delivers. We’re very familiar with izakayas in Japan and we deem Ginya Izakaya to be both authentic and delectable.

We had a party of six for an early Sunday dinner. I can't even recall everything we ordered but it was all amazing. The sashimi was fresh and exquisite. The ramen bowls were heavenly. We even threw in a few sushi rolls which were also fantastic. Definitely a great find for a fantastic meal.

Went here with my wife and kids! This place was busy even late on a Sunday night! We didn't have to wait too long though! Ambience and decor was cool! Came here to try the ramen, and then tried other stuff in the menu! The ramen was legit!!! Will definitely eat here again for ramen! Spicy tonkatsu was on point! You get the sauce to make it as spicy as you want! Butter corn ramen was delicious as well!! The chicken karaage was enjoyed by my kids! It was crispy on the outside and moist in the inside! Nicely cooked! The only thing we didn't like was the sushi. The shrimp tempura roll I ordered was okay! Definitely have tasted better from other places. All in all a good experience! Service was pretty good too! Oh yeah! The dessert was so good!!! Wifey and the kids devoured it!
Consistently Amazing Sushi and Japanese Cuisine
I've been going to their sister restaurant, Shoya for years. Ginya opened without a hitch in anything. The Sashimi, Sushi and Ramen Noodles and selections are fantastic. You need to simply work your way through the menu. The service is also amazing and the sushi chefs are well experienced in every facet from preparation and style to presentation. You will not be disappointed. My favorites are the Uni, Saba and all of the Ramen Noodles. I am hardcore so I mostly eat Sashimi but the rolls are very good and unique as well. Also be sure to try their salads, especially the Salmon Skin Salad. There are also daily specials so its tough to decide where to start on your first visit.
