This is an historic Las Vegas landmark, but still worthwhile visiting today if you can get a reservation. Nothing showed available online but since it was very close to our hotel, we just wandered into ask and got an opening the next evening. Food was excellent, escargot and steak tartar (with a fairly innovative presentation) appetizers followed by fillet and sea bass, all delicious. Fairly expensive, but not your everyday meal, we certainly recommend.

There’s a lot of hype around this restaurant, and the food was indeed delicious, but all of the other problems unfortunately took away from the experience of the food. They have a posted, dress code online, and at the door. But they don’t enforce it. I specifically made a point of going home from work to get it Dressed up, need to come to the restaurant and find people in sandals and shorts and beach clothing. It was also very noisy inside the restaurant. The tables are seated very close to one another, and there is a lot of of laughing and talking and noise. The person at the table next to us had the audacity to pull out his phone and record a video with the flash on the entire time he was getting his food served. This is in a very upscale restaurant with dim lighting for ambience. And I had to have a flashlight shown in my face. The restaurant didn’t say anything to him. When I asked about drinks, the waiter listed the drinks and said it included tea. I asked him was the tea suite, and he said no. I then asked him if the lemonade was sweet, and he laughed as if I had said something stupid. Where I am from, there’s no such thing as unsweet tea, so it was an honest question to ask if the lemonade was sweet. There were also as many as three servers waiting on our table. It was confusing as to who was the actual server. When I needed my lemonade refilled, the server who had just been waiting on our table, was now passing right by the table without even looking at it to go to another table, and one of the other servers who had also been waiting on our table was on the other side of the restaurant. So I have no idea who our server was, or if all of the servers in the restaurant wait on all of the tables in the restaurant. Overall, the food was very delicious. If I had to do this restaurant again, I would take the food out to go and avoid the experience of the restaurant itself.

Golden Steer is very famous, made so by the Stars who frequented Vegas in the late 50s (opened in 1958) then the 60s and 70s. It remains a great place for really good steaks, lobster, crab. But being so famous for so long and having reservation impossible to get less than months in advance, makes some staff, like our greeter on this night very short and less than inviting. Too bad. We tried for almost two weeks calling every day hoping we could fill a cancellation. We opted to try to sit down in the lounge and sit at a high top. The place opens at 4:30 pm so, we got that closer to 4. There were more than thirty people there before us. Most but not all with reservations. We ended up getting seats at the bar where in front of us is a bulky electronic game table occupying what should have been our eating space, but they had little wooden platforms to sit on top of those things where our places could be set, as long as there werent more than one. They, they man that took our drink orders, gave way to a lady server named Sheena. She was wonderful, happy, pleasant and personable. Thanks to her our meal experience approached what the restaurant management should hope every diner enjoys. We had a lobster tail (me) and king crab legs (my wife). We had french onion soup and some mushrooms in cream sauce. The food was as expensive as their reputation earned. The portions werent as monumental as all of the review build up led us to believe, but we knew we would not finish anyway and we did not. The food was excellent. It was delivered very quickly. We had a house cappuccino (me) and a chocolate martini (wife Angie) for desert. She raved about hers. Its one of those things were you go there because it is part of the Vegas experience. And the food happens to be all right. It is NOT on the strip unless we are talking about a small strip mall. Old part of town, mostly industrial and retail. Glad we went. We dont plan ahead that far so we will likely never get in there again because eating at the bar presented its own difficulties as hard as they tried to reduce those. Parking was easy for us because we were there early enough, but try to part at 5 or later, and you will wish you had taken an Uber.

I'd always hear this place was the classic Vegas steakhouse, so I made a reservation for my husband's birthday dinner 4 months in advance. Our evening began with being seated at Betty Grable's booth, which the hostess told us was the "lookout table" for the nearby mobsters' private dining room. We started with drinks. I had the "With Love" strawberry cocktail, and my husband had a "Make it Smooth" which was like an old fashioned. Our first course was the tableside Caesar salad. The waiter who made it was hilarious, and we told him he looked like Donny Osmond. Next were the steaks. My husband ordered the ribeye, cooked medium rare, which he said was perfect. I had the filet and shrimp. My steak was also cooked perfectly, and the shrimp were really good! For dessert, we ordered the tableside Bananas Foster, and I had a chocolate martini. The waiter who prepared the dessert was also a lot of fun, and we enjoyed the presentation. The chef also sent out a slice of cheesecake with a birthday candle, too. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner! Yes, it was expensive. But for the experience, we definitely enjoyed it!

WOW, let me tell you, the goldensteer is absolutely incredible! I can't stress enough how amazing it is. Seriously, hands down, it's the best of the best. When I went, I had these gigantic lobstertails and crab, and let me just say, they were out of this world! And the service? Oh, it was absolutely top-notch. I mean, seriously, if you find yourself in Vegas, you HAVE to make a stop at the goldensteer. Trust me, you won't regret it!

I walked I. With a bad experience already. If it is difficult to call to make or adjust a reservation and no one returns your call, that’s a red flag right there. Our reservation got canceled in error and tried to call for 2 hours and left voicemails they never checked. Upon arrival I was told the reservation was taken by someone else. Food and service overrated. They even forgot to give me my drivers. I will post on social media in Newo york and Las Vegas.this place is downhill. Food was just an ordinary steakhouse.

Fabulous steak cooked to perfection! Delicious, very fresh, Caesar salad. Can be prepared at your table if ordered for 2. We shared a serving for one and it was plenty for 2 people to share. Tasty buttery garlic bread. We shared a twice baked potato that tasted like it might have been baked 3 times. Too dry. A loaded baked potato got rave reviews. But no matter how stuffed full you are….I suggest you share the Bananas Foster! Totally topped off a fabulous dinner. Four of us shared one serving. Two servings would have been even better! We saw several huge! lobster tails being served. I have never seen any quite so large! Nostalgic decor some may say a ‘little tired’ but we enjoyed it as the LV treasure it is!

As a community board member I booked this four months in advance and boy this place is as good as the tik toks facebooks and instagrams to the front of house to the bar staff to the servers amazing customer service like a* we were in a rat pack booth had the side service of caesars salad and the meatballs are made fresh daily they were amazing I’m Italian so I know if meatballs are good!!! Also we are coming back in February with my sister they squeezed us in so excited to show my sister how amazing this place is ❤️

An absolute hidden gem and an unforgettable dining experience. Best Caesar salad ever I ever had and the tableside preparation was a nice touch. Old-school classy steakhouse, very reasonably priced for quality and portion sizes. Service the way it should be. We were lucky to dine in the vintage leather wrapped booths, were so comfortable and make conversation so easy. Definitely felt like a VIP. I cannot wait to return, I'd actually fly to Vegas just to dine here again. Cheers to the Golden Steer for standing out in a crowd of over-priced celebrity chef establishments.

Service and atmosphere excellent. Caesar salad I did not like because of the spicy Dijon mustard in it. Ordered the 48oz tomahawk ribeye for 2 and it was ok but not worth the $275 price tag in my opinion. Had twice baked potato that was dry. Had mushrooms on the side that were excellent. Overall was just ok. I think I could have had a better steak at multiple places. Did not live up to the hype.

Excellent Excellent Excellent Must go. Old time Vegas ambiance, lots of history. Table side dishes which are lost today.

An Incredible Meal! World class service and the best steak on the planet. We have been here twice in the past few months and it’s been an incredible experience. If you want to experience service and food like no other in Vegas this is the place. Best to phone for reservations a few months in advance. Highly recommend.

After many attempts to dine g.s. It’s by far the most overrated restaurant in the city. Steak was ok service great but you can get better steak dinners through out the city we found our steak chewy and for the price definitely not worth it.

Made reservations months in advance and got an early time as we really wanted to get a great prime rib before they ran out of rare. Walked in and was told table not ready, when finally we were seated, it was a table that had been ready the whole time. Felt it was a money grab at the bar. Could not get Prime rib under med/rare. Ended up getting NY stripe with lobster tail. Tasteless, no flavor and the driest lobster meat ever. Sent the meal back it was so so bad. Twice baked potato for 14 dollars was a joke. Again over cooked and under seasoned. Do yourself a favor go to one of the amazing restaurants on the strip. Don’t fall for this place.

Best steak I ever had was here. While on the pricey side I'm willing to overlook that given both the food and the cool history of this restaurant. As you walk through the restaurant you see booths where old celebrities used to dine at which is neat. And while the location looks like a hole in the wall it's still the best place to get a great meal. Highly Recommend!!!

Ate here many years ago and found same thing to be true today as then. Service is great, almost a show in itself. Fairly large group and was impeccable. All drinks excellent and reasonably priced. The food. Same really mediocre steabut flavorless. I can get a prime steak at the regular supermarket or even a choice one that has twice the flavor. I have teeth, I'm not talking tenderness, no flavor. Swear they tried to use the cheap steakhouse trick of trying to spice some flavor in, salt.

I know this is controversial in light of all the reviews and hype we heard before our visit… but we thought Golden Steer was just “ok”. Not terrible, but not special either. Our visit came with a price tag of nearly $1000 in total for 3 couples, and that just simply isn’t justified. We arrived on time for our reservation which I’d made 6 months in advance. We’re from England and I explained that this was a surprise trip for my husband’s 50th birthday and so I requested a booth if that was possible to make the experience extra special. We were greeted by chaotic scenes at the front desk where the staff seemed under pressure and very flustered. We were told that, sorry a booth wasn’t possible because someone had just sat down in it and wouldn’t be moved. Weird. Quite an unprofessional first impression. We were then told that our table was being prepared and we stood at the desk for about 10 minutes with no communication. Very disappointing start to our highly anticipated visit. We were eventually sat in a back (side?) room with 3 other tables already seated. The place had no buzz and we felt that we weren’t in the actual restaurant. There was a door beside us which waiters constantly used and cold air blew on to our table every time it was opened. It felt like we were in a walkway to somewhere else! The food was good. Nothing special. We ordered the Caesar salad, 2 couples had the longhorn and lobster tail (at $255!), a filet and prime rib with various sides. The waiter kindly brought out a birthday slice of cheesecake for my husband which was sweet. We had a couple of drinks each and the bill at the end came to almost $1000. There’s just no way it was worth that. It was such a shame we’d waited for so long and been so excited to experience an amazing evening when what we actually received was a mediocre experience and all wished we’d saved our money and gone elsewhere. I wonder if there’s a little bit of trading on reputation and past glory going on here?

We had an 8pm reservation. We weren’t seated until around 8:45 but that was explained when we checked in. Apparently a power outage from the night before so they were trying to squeeze in some reservations from the night before. For as long as it takes to get a reservation here, I completely understood. If ours was cancelled and moved to the next night under those circumstances I’d be plenty happy so we were very understanding. Now, they did make this up to us by bringing us a few complementary items. We started with a table side Caesar salad. It was perfection as always. It never lets down and I get it to start every time. One person in our party of four got the French onion soup. She said it was great. Next they brought out the butchers cut meatballs. Good size and so flavorful. These were a complementary item brought to us for our long wait. I’d order these next time I visit as an appetizer for sure. My wife ordered the eggplant parm and she was also given a side of the toasted ravioli. She loved the eggplant parm and said the raviolis were pretty good. One of my friends ordered the chicken parm and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. Myself and one other friend ordered the ribeye. Both had it cooked medium rare and it was perfectly medium rare. Tons of flavor! I’ve ordered the ribeye every time I’ve come here and it’s always a great choice. We had the whipped potatoes as a side and also the garlic Parmesan broccoli. The potatoes were so creamy and full of flavor. The broccoli was pretty good. I don’t think I’d order the broccoli again but it wasn’t bad, just not worth getting again. I’d go back to the asparagus like I normally get. We capped it off with a table side bananas foster and a Spumoni Bomba. Both were amazing desserts. Service, as always was a 200/10. Very attentive. My wine glass never reached empty until I refused a refill. These servers were working their tales off all over the room and were absolutely killing it. We will be back again!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. It had an 87% food review, and the menu was posted online. However, It was not delicious. I ordered Chicken Hunter Style and creamed spinach. The seasoning on the chicken really made my stomach turn. It smelled and tasted like Old Bay Crawfish Boil. The creamed spinach was very runny. It wasn’t thickened enough. I had our server box the food, and I paid the bill. This was a “one and done” for me.

I had wanted to go to the Golden Steer for years and finally got the chance to book and was beyond excited to finally dine here. When we arrived I was taken aback by the bar area, it looked like a Vegas casino bar with men in shorts and golf shirts and what looked like a delivery driver eating a jacket potato at the bar. There were people also packed into the bar eating at a table and the barmen was so fed up and rude he just pointed to the beers on the shelf when I asked him what there was for beers. The chaos of the bar was completely at odds with the expectation of this high end, classy place I expected that it dampened the mood and we waited for our table. Turns out the food is very average as well, the Longhorn steak was full of inedible gristle, we asked for medium and got raw blue in the middle, Lobster was a little bit cold. The house Malbec was undrinkable almost one of the worst wines I've ever tasted, Servers were friendly and did their best, we then had a rowdy bunch of come in again dressed like they were coming to a bar for nachos. Dinner is as well wildly expensive for what you get and in General a huge disappointment. The Golden Steer is a relic of a bygone era trading on name only, no dress code and a low level bar kind of vibe ruin the experience as well as the poor food which is over priced. There are some good staff and servers but also like the barman terrible ones it just doesn't feel like that old school classy Vegas experience you are sold or pay high end prices for.

A really Great place to visit. History meet food. High Roller Menu was so good, the service was the best in town. So do not miss if in Vegas

One of my all time favorite restaurant in the entire country. The Golden Steer is a very unique restaurant with an atmosphere and history that takes you back in time to the 1960's and the early years of Vegas. The prime rib is FANTASTIC and they still do a table side Caesar salad. Be sure to try the seafood tower! Be aware that they are often backed up for months to get a reservation.

An absolutely wonderful dining experience but you're going to pay for it through the nose. Everything you eat here is absolutely delicious and perfection on a plate. Enjoy.

We were there in August 2023 and celebrated our silver wedding together with my brother in the evening. The Golden Steer is just outside and we went back and forth with the taxi, which also worked out well (otherwise e.g. Uber or order a limousine before, depending on the occasion). Definitely reserve the table in advance, I can't imagine that you get without a seat. We already indicated the wish for a Booth, a corner bench seat on the wall, when making the Reservation. You try to fulfill the wish, but it is not guaranteed. We got lucky and got one. Since we have heard a lot about the Caesars salad, which is prepared fresh at the table, we tried it as an appetizer. I've never eaten a better one and would have even left the steak for it! Let's get to the main course. We had different steaks, all fried as desired and excellent. Only the size we had clearly underestimated. We saw the weight in ounces, but in our head we didn’t convert it into grams but only looked at the type of steak (was probably clearly due to hunger!). So of course it was way too much meat and we could not eat the side dishes, which were all excellent. Therefore, urgent the advice to share or take smaller pieces! There was no more room for dessert. The Golden Steer is high priced but adequate to the quality. The service was friendly, fast and unobtrusive. We had a great evening and would come back anytime!

We were sat a booth for our meal, the restaurant is beautiful and has a real old Vegas style to it. Our server was so attentive and took the time to answer any questions about the menu. We had the tableside salad just for the experience and had the best steaks ever! Perfectly cooked and just melt in your mouth… We were given plenty of time to finsih our drinks and didnt feel rushed. Everyone who attended to use was so polite and helpful, a Vegas must do!

Like always, the solid hospitality begins before walking into the the Golden Steer with an employee greeting you outside and welcoming you. Again, delicious food, solid hospitality and a memorable dinning experience. Shout out to: Lucy, Paula, Justin, David our server, and Hernan. The General Manager Jack and Assistant General Manager Wendy run an amazing show and it reflects in the service. If you want to be treated like a celebrity, The Golden Steer Steakhouse is the place to be. Go for the food, stay for the service.

So disappointing. Steak was full of fat and way over priced for an experience that we were all excited for. Such a let down. In saying that the staff were very attentive and lovely.

Nostalgic where you step back in time in a almost hidden lace. Service is old scool very tenative. Prices are best in Vegas when it comes to a great steak or Lobster tail. 🦞 we also had burbank sautéed mushrooms, twice cooked baked potato and famous garlic bread. And don't forget a must have blue berry jubilee your taste buds will think you went to heaven. We will definitely go back thank you Golden Steer for not raising your prices to strip prices because of so called Inflation

Top of the best steak places anywhere. The food, the service, the old Vegas atmosphere make this a must when in Las Vegas.

We are from Tampa, FL and love Bern’s. The food, environment, and service tips Bern’s and I didn’t think that was possible. The Caesar salad presentation was e retraining. The steak was perfect! This was the best steak we have ever had.

We visited the golden steer during our honeymoon, they made us feel very welcome and very special from the moment we walked in. I would highly recommend the Caesar salad which is made fresh at your table! We shared a tomahawk and it was truly delicious one of the best if not the best steak we’ve ever had. Thank you golden steer for an unforgettable experience.

Our family was quite excited to dine at The Golden Steer. Anticipation and expectations were pretty high. The Retro old Vegas vibe was cool. Servers were nice. We had the table side Caesar which was good but not great. Two petite filets were ordered both Medium. One came out well done and brown and the other rare and bloody! Yikes Two larger filets were ordered medium rare and parts were well done and other parts rare. Very inconsistent. Again Yikes. The Oysters Rockefeller were horrible. Not even edible. The broccoli side seemed like frozen broccoli that had been defrosted with a few bread crumbs thrown in for good measure. Barely edible. Oysters and broccoli I can forgive. But the steak was unforgivable. Sorry Steer, but your expansion must be too much to handle.

Wow! We chose to dine at Golden Steer Steakhouse after our wedding (just myself and my husband) and we are so glad we did. The restaurant really oozes that Old Vegas charm, and you can tell there is so much history in the walls as soon as you arrive - it is such a special venue. The service was absolutely incredible - everyone we came into contact with congratulated us and made us feel so welcome! Not only that but they were super helpful, from the bar staff recommending drinks for us, to the servers helping us with the menu. A server even helped me get an amazing photo in a booth, in-between guests being sat. The food was unbelievable, the steaks were cooked perfectly and we loved every single bite - it's been a month since our meal and we're still talking about it! It was such a memorable day for us and we’re so happy that this experience topped it off. Would 100% recommend dining here at least once in your lifetime! Make sure to book early as I can see why reservations are 6 months in advance - it's so worth it!

We've been waiting months to eat here and was super stoked to experience it! The service was out of this world, everyone that works there go out of their way to ensure you're enjoying yourself! Ambiance was 10/10, Service 10/10, but the food was 7/10. The food service started off with warm sourdough rolls and butter, tableside Caesar salad was delicious with homemade croutons, and the Dinner for Two (Tomahawk with salad, and two sides). We chose the creamed spinach and grilled asparagus. The meat and spinach was delicious but a tad oversalted. We ordered the With Love cocktail which was nice and sweet and an unsweetened iced tea. For dessert we ordered their anniversary special "Sapphire" which was a table side flambe of sugar and blueberries and poured over vanilla bean ice cream. We spent $311 for the evening. Great experience! Happy Eats ✌️

First time there, and it won't be the last. Three friends had a wonderful time. This is a must do on your trip to Vegas

What an amazing restaurant! From the outside I feared the taxi had taken me to the wrong place, but once inside we had a brilliant evening experience, with the atmosphere, service and food being spot on. It’s rather ‘old fashioned’ inside, but in a good way - more traditional than old, and you can feel years of history. The round booth table on the rear wall provided nice views of the dining area and was a good size. The staff were knowledgeable and both professional yet friendly. The oyster starter was perfect, with the hottest horseradish I have ever encountered! Getting the caesar salad made at the table is wonderful and worth ordering for that presentation alone! Steaks were served in good time and cooked perfectly. Side dishes were sizeable and equally delicious. Possibly the best steak I’ve ever had was the opinion I left with. I can’t wait to return here and it’s highly recommended from me!

Went here with the guys, about 12 of us ages 45 to 60. I think Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Junior were there that night too. But seriously if you want the feel of old Las Vegas when you were treated like a king, this is the place. The food, service and atmosphere are fantastic.

Our visits to Las Vegas are always accompanied with dinner at the Golden Steer. Do not believe any negative reviews, as a Gay Latino couple, we have always received extraordinary hospitality service. Arriving yesterday, we were welcomed by Wendy and another employee as they held the doors open for guests and welcomed each one of us. We felt like celebrities as the host thanked us on our 5th visit. The service continued with our generous servers and staff that remembered us from our previous visits. I mean, that’s old-school hospitality service for you. Thank you to Leo, Bryant, and David. *the dirty martinis are the best we have ever tasted. Do not forget to order the Golden Steer drink, both are DELICIOUS.

Took the deuce bus from out hotel and had a short walk from the bus stop to the restaurant. It didn’t look like much from the outside but inside is just what I wanted/expected- vintage Vegas steakhouse . Make reservations- we went on a Thursday night and it was busy. We had the escargot, Cesar salad, baked potato and ribeye. Everything was delicious and the ribeye was tender and perfectly seasoned. Lots of history inside so look around and take it all in. Prices are in the higher side but I think the quality and service are worth paying for.

I had the seafood stuffed mushroom caps, dinner salad, baked potato and 18oz prime rib. I originally thought I would be boxing half of it up to eat later but it was so delicious that I did it in one sitting. No condiments needed for the steak, it was perfect as served. Can be considered a bit pricey at 130.00 but worth every cent.

Impossible to get reservations unless you book months in advance. But you can go and sit at the bar or be put on wait list and still eat here. We saw this place on the news, so we were so excited to try it. It is OK, but not that great. The steak was OK quality and cooked at correct temperature. The lobster was overcooked. The French fries were suppose to be gluten free but they fry the calamari in the same fryer. Luckily the waiter came out and left me know before I ate any. Not many GF options for appetizers. It is expensive for the quality they give you.

We wanted so badly to fall in love with this place but sadly didn’t. Booked about 5 months before our trip for my husband’s bday celebration. Atmosphere is nice but busy, packed and loud, typical for Vegas so not unexpected. We had a booth and the service was good. No one really talked to us much or explained the history like I’ve seen people comment on, always seemed in a hurry but still made sure we had water etc.. Drinks were great! Caesar salad was neat to watch but for the price I guess I expected more. Both me and my husband love Caesar salad but felt this was off somehow maybe the dressing? Steaks tho were amazing and cooked exactly how we asked. Crab legs were stringy and chewy. I couldn’t eat them so my husband did and agreed they were definitely weird especially for the high price. I always order mushrooms with my steak (love mushrooms lol) and I wasn’t a fan of the ones we got here. Dinner for 2, one drink each plus tip and ride to and from cost over $400. So in the end it was ok and decent food and service but for the price we’ve had better in our opinion at places like prime or bavettes and would go back to those first.

This is one you need to visit, a trip back in time to old school vegas, great atmosphere, vintage decor topped off with unbelievable food and such friendly staff , service impeccable

We ate at the Golden Steer which is the oldest steakhouse in Vegas and very popular with the rat pack. The inside has that old Vegas feel and you must have a reservation which can run 3 to 4 months out. I had the Australian Lobster tail which was good size and the market price was $95 that night. The Prime Rib is also very good. The service was fabulous and they make the Caesar salad table side. This place has a strict dress code which they will not waiver on as a couple found out who brought a baby inside. No children under 5 are allowed. You can also see the strip from the parking lot as the Resorts World dwarfs Circus Circus. We will definitely be back again.

We were lucky enough to be able to get a reservation at this ionic restaurant. We were seat in the famous Frank Sinatra booth, the atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter and servers were so nice and catered to our every question and desires. The house made Caesar salad was the best we ever had. We order the tomahawk for two plus twice baked potatoes and burgundy mushrooms. This place is worth every single penny!! If you can go, go !!

Never had better food and service than I’ve had here. Me and my friends had an amazing night , food was great, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel like valued guests. Cannot recommend this place enough it’s the best food and service we have ever had!

Best Caesar salad I’ve had. They make the Caesar dressing table side and our waiter was fantastic. One of the best steaks I’ve had ( had the thick cut New York strip). The sides are à la cart and large enough for two people. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We finally got a reservation at the famous steak house in Las Vegas The ambiance is very nice and they have a strict dress code so it was a good environment Service was pretty good but there was a long wait between the salads and our main course We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. The breading was really good but the calamari itself was very chewy B- They did serve rolls but they were noting special. They were served with nice soft butter. C We ordered table side Caesar’s salad and it was delicious. The dressing was a little different than what I’ve had but all of us loved it A My son ordered a rib steak. He said it wasn’t the best he had but it was good. B My husband ordered the Sea Bass and he enjoyed it. He said it was just a little bit dry. B My daughter in-law ordered a chicken dish. She raved about it. My son tasted it and he raved also. A+ I ordered the lobster tail. Part of it was nice and tender but the ends were tough. That was disappointing We also ordered two sides of mashed potatoes and they were so creamy and delicious! So, all in all it was a nice dinner but didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Amazing experience with food quality and service! Truly worth checking it out. If I had change one thing about it, I would say we felt like we were rushed a bit!

This restaurant provided excellent food paired with some of the best service we’ve ever experienced. The table side Caesar Salad was amazing and the filet was perfect. The table side Cherries Jubilee and Bananas Foster were SO good. When you add in the Old Vegas flair and nostalgia this would be a must do for any trip to Vegas.

We were seated at the table nearest the main entry door. When we booked a table in the lounge we didn’t realize that people waiting for their tables would be standing 2 feet away from us watching us eat our dinners. Very uncomfortable, and extremely noisy at times. We had to ask for a wine menu. Ordered our drinks and waited. And waited. Finally our server returned and wanted to take our order, we asked about the status of our drinks and she said she would take our order first then check on our drinks. The look on my face changed her mind and off she went to get us drinks. We had escargots, stuffed mushrooms, filets and stuffed baked potatoes. Food was perfectly good, not great, and grossly overpriced. After being served our main courses my husband flagged down our server and asked for some fresh ground pepper, she returned immediately and ground pepper over his plate then abruptly turned and walked away. It was not offered to me. They did comp our drinks though. We won’t be back.

So I try to check out new spots off the strip less touristy when I hit Vegas. This one hit the nail on the head…researched the spot before and said sure why not it looks cool and has been around forever. Outside of the building leaves expectations low but when you walk in the doors you’re in a time warp. Old school to the core. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. 24oz porterhouse with their famous butter on top. Creamed spinach, twice baked potato also hit the mark. No room for dessert but it looked awesome from other tables who ordered the table side Sapphire Jubilee. Definitely recommend and will be going back! Oh we sat in Joe Dimaggios booth and being from NY it hit the spot!

Seated promptly with a reservation. My husband and I both shared the 24 oz steak and a baked potato. We each had the wedge salad. The food was amazing and the steak absolutely perfect. Ordered the tiramisu and could only eat a few bites but the rest came back to our hotel with us. I think the service is what put the icing on the cake. Everyone was so polite and courteous. The service from all the staff was fit for a King and Queen. Glad we went. Loved the old school rat pack vibe.

The ambiance was great and the service was good, the steak just dreadful. The meat quality was terrible the Rib just had bad consistency and was not good eating there were 4 of us all ordering steak and I was very surprised how poor it was and we had different opinions but no one was happy. I would not go back and order steak.

I emailed the lady before we flew to vegas and we got the sammy davis junior booth near deans and franks what an experience what food and service .. make sure you save enough money if you want a steak 😅 but well worth a visit 👍🏼 if you like vegas history don't miss this one

I have to say that the ratings on this restaurant are pretty far off. I found the restaurant to be old and outdated, using less than the best cuts of meat, having second tier servers, a terrible wine selection. That’s way overpriced, the seafood was less than fresh, and while the steak was cooked to the right temperature, they had no ability to put a Pittsburgh finish on it as requested. I just believe that in Vegas, there are so many spectacular places and for the price that they’re charging in this place. They are way below the average.

First off, the staff is very good so I applaud their employees. Second, the food was simply not good. $120 for a lobster that was tough and mediocre. Steak came out barely warm and vegetables were cold. General Manager came over as meal was done to say that the steak was not up to par and he could tell by looking at it that is was a problem. He removed the steak from our bill but not the sides or anything else. I have been to Vegas 30+ times and I was looking forward to this meal more than any on our trip and it was a complete dud. I get the old school Vegas vibe but there are far better options to dine at.

We were able to secure a walk in table (unhear of!) despite no availability online. We 'were told it was "Joe DiMaggio"'s table. Not sure if I believed it but it was entertainment. Our steak and lobster was good paired with cream spinach. Quality is what you would expect from a higher end steakhouse. I loved the Caesar salad. I have had many versions over the years, this is my favorite. The best part of dinner was our host and server, David. What a great guy! Professional, friendly and informative. His tableside manner was impeccable. We had miscalculated the gratuity and went back to make it right, he was so gracious. Thank you!

What a wonderful atmosphere as well as top notch food and service. My wife loved the king crab while I truly enjoyed the filet mignon. We both got the twice baked potato and agreed it was one of the best we have ever had. I couldn’t recommend highly enough and plan to return when we visit Las Vegas in the future.

Sorry but this place was not worth the hype. Caesar salad for two made fresh was average. French onion soup was fine but I've made better. Crab salad appetizer was watery. Steaks were good. Atmosphere was good but food definitely not worth the price. They will only give one bill for two couples...would have been too much trouble to give each couple there own bill? Been there once but would never go again.

We have wanted to try Golden Steer on the last few trips to Vegas but could not get it together to get a reservation. This trip we planned ahead and snag a coveted reservation for this classic steakhouse. The experience starts as you pull up to the location - a small commercial strip property with limited parking - nothing fancy. There is a double door entry that brings you into the bar area with host stand - dining rooms are beyond. We were seated in a booth - The Joe DiMaggio booth to be specific. Frank Sinatra tunes are playing in the background, red vinyl booth, Cesar salad cart is pushed through the dining area - feeling the Vegas Vibes!!!! We felt that the menu options were plentiful and well-priced for the quality and quantity of food. There were two options for "Dinner for Two" which we did not do but we saw the meals at adjoining tables, and we must say - the steak & lobster tail were impressive! We decided to share a steak (perfectly cooked & delicious). We ordered the meatballs as the appetizer (delicious), Cesar Salad for two - made table side, a large baked potato, and the mushrooms burgundy (highly recommend). A delicious meal with fantastic & attentive service. We enjoyed our meal & experience and would return next trip to Vegas!

I researched many places I wanted to try when I visited Vegas and this quickly became top of that list! You will need to book very far in advance if you want to guarantee where you’d like to sit in the restaurant as I tried to arranged 7 weeks in advance and all online bookings were gone. Me and my partner were happy to que on the day though and chance just getting in as was very eager to just eat here. When we got in were sat at the bar when we were told could be expected to be hour or so wait if we didn’t want to eat at the bar straight away (absolutely fine if you wanted to do that but if there was chance of a table we didn’t mind waiting a while) but a extremely helpful female bartender said she would keep up in the loop about who was coming and going and if a table would come available we could get into main dining area. We had two cocktails which were delicious and we hadn’t finished them before we were told a table could be available for us! The service was impeccable. Waiters are very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu food and drinks. Table side ceaser salad is famous for a reason it’s delicious so is the main reasons I picked this restaurant.. their lobster tails are not just impressive in size really unlike anything have had before would recommend to anyone who loves steak and lobster together it all was fantastic. The trip to vegas was for a birthday and when the staff knew that they were so sweet and kind even got a slice of cheesecake at the end of the meal! So happy I was able to really experience this restaurant fully I loved the whole evening and couldn’t sing praises enough for the food and staff. If you are in vegas you have to come here even if you come for drinks and a bite or a full sit down meal you will not be disappointed!

First, it is not necessarily a negative, but you must get reservations at least 4-6 months in advance. That should speak for itself. My wife and I were there to celebrate our birthdays along with my son. Well, the Ceasar Salad is a must that is prepared for you table side. The Steaks were perfectly prepared and tasted delicious. The cocktails were over the top!

Made reservations 4 months prior. We were seated promptly. The several different servers we had were polite and friendly. Tableside salad was good. Ordered the 12 oz filet medium. The filet was cooked above medium and did not have much flavor. I consider myself a steak snob, so I was rather dissatisfied with the steak as everyone raves about how good the steaks are here. I’ve had much better steaks in the area at less cost. Definitely a neat place, but IMO, falls very short of the hype.

The Steer lived up to its reputation. Our steaks & sides were outstanding. 2 filets & 1 strip (the best I've ever had). But. . Be prepared for the tab; it will get your attention!

A little pricey, but for a special occasion we splurged. Staff was great. Twice baked potatoes were delicious as were the meatballs.

I have been here now twice, and have not been disappointed by their food or the service is both top notch. I have both in the back and a large table and also so low at the bar. See you soon !

We tried booking this property back in 2024. In January 2025 we got lucky and we got a reservation for June 2025. It was a coincidence that it fell on the exact day of my brother’s birthday. We arrived early thinking we’re going to have parking issues, but that wasn’t the case. As we walked through the 1st door, we looked inside upon opening the 2nd door. We could feel the energy filled with so much history, intimidating but invigorating. We wanted to experience the whole dining vibe instead of just sitting at the bar. We got seated promptly and dining area was tight but they made it work. The Caesar’s salad was great & the server told us the history while making it from scratch table side. First time trying the Tomahawk, better leave the cooking to the pros. The meat tasted more leaner than the ribeye. The middle was pink with a good crisp on the outside. Ribeye was marvelous, marbled all over. I ate what I could off the bone too. Crab legs & lobster tail was cooked to perfection!! Shrimp appetizer was crazy delicious, best way to eat is to drench the whole slice of bread in the saucer. The halved lemons have a cover to prevent seeds from going into your food. The Brussel sprouts were refreshing, every bite exploded in my mouth. The secret might be in how they grilled it. Cherries Jubilee was fun & phenomenal. I literally drank it from the serving dish. The cheesecake slice was awesome, it blew away the “Factory” by a mile. Shout out to all the servers, very experienced and amazing!! They literally took the time to make room on our table for all the food we ordered and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you Golden Steer for taking care of us!!

Amazing atmosphere, service, and food. David (waiter) thank you for wonderful experience. If you’re looking for a dinner experience in Vegas then this is the place to be.

This place was outstanding. Did a lot of research prior to going and I was blown away by the legendary stars that frequented it. Service was top notch, ambience galore and the food was delicious! All class. Would go here a thousand times over. I was disappointed that I requested a particular booth 4 mos in advance and was told it was available only to get there and was told it was reserved prior to my reservation. Everything else made up for it though. Don’t hesitate, this is a gem. This is old school Vegas.

We have been to Vegas many times and never knew of this restaurant. I came across it while searching for something different. Their claim to fame is that the Rat Rack, Elvis, and other celebrities used to frequent there. It has an older charm, but the food is very good. They will prepare the Ceasar salad right at your table. Plan early as it it booked up well in advance.

Came here last Monday to celebrate our anniversary—this place is so hard to get reservations, so we were excited to secured a reservation! Arrived a bit early so we hung out at the bar for a drink—then got seated in the back room in a nice comfy booth. Ambiance here is great—classy, old school vibe. Service was EXCELLENT. Our server Christopher was awesome—friendly and attentive. All the staff were nice. Food was delicious and well flavored—recommend the Shrimp de Jonghe, Prime Rib 14oz. English Cut and 16 oz. Shorthorn steak. Enjoyed our bottle of Catena Alta Malbec with the food too. For dessert, the Strawberry Triple Cheesecake was so good! We got a complimentary chocolate cake with a candle to celebrate our anniversary, which was so sweet, loved it! Hope to score reservations again in the future so we can come back!

Had a terrible time at the Golden Steer. My girlfriend is a local of Las Vegas and had told me of how historic and charming this place was. We tried to drop in for a casual drink at the bar (which she had done many times in the past). We had nobody to greet us at the door, so we worked our way towards the bar. It was full, so we waited our turn for a nice couple to finish up and offer us their bar stools. As we sat down we were confronted by a rather curt bar tender telling us that we were not entitled to seat ourselves and that we needed to join a waiting list to even sit at the bar. Something neither of us had encountered in the past at any bar. When we asked if we could join the wait list to even sit at the bar he told us not to bother. So we left. It’s sad that we had to leave with such a sour impression of what is reputed to be a LV icon.

Probably the best steak I have ever had. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff is professional and attentive. I can honestly state that I had zero problems or issues, and that this place is worthy of a perfect score.

We were here for an anniversary dinner with friends and family. Luckily, we were able to get a late night reservation a couple weeks before! Everything was wonderful and the place was so full of history. Our waiter gave us the history of the booths and who used to sit there when they would come in. It was such a cool spot and I can’t wait to try it again!

Delicious food. We had steak, chicken, shrimp, sides and the amazing Caesar salad. Everything was great. Our waiter didn’t have much personality so 4 stars.

We ate here Thursday night night and had steaks, sea bass, Caesar salad prepared table side, banana foster, cherry jubilee and drinks. All food was delicious and well prepared. The dessert was a little lacking in flavor. Service was excellent. Overall was a nice experience and the decor is very nice! I’d recommend!

I booked reservations here several months out for 5 of us and had a 9:15PM time slot. Upon entering, I observed a couple of seats at the bar open, which is first come, first served. We were seated immediately in a corner booth, across from Clint Eastwoods table. We started off with table side Caesar salad for everyone, as well as the meatballs, shrimp, and I had the french onion soup. The salad was the best, and made table side, but all was very good. The majority of us ordered the fillet, and one ordered the prime rib. All of the steaks were prepared well and seasoned on point. For sides we tried the spinach, the creamed corn, asparagus, twice baked potato, the mashed potato, and a couple ordered the baked potato. The corn was excellent with the cinnamon and sweet flavor. All sides were good. We were all too full for dessert. The ambiance and history of this place makes it special. Frank Sinatra songs were playing in the background and their staff was extremely professional. With drinks included bill was about $200pp. Would definitely return. Book ahead of time and enjoy.

I had the good fortune to attend a private event (only 10 of us) in one of their dining rooms on a Saturday night. The owner spoke to us about the history of the restaurant, and validated what we had guessed, that this was a special place! Some of the staff have been there forever. But that didn't mean they weren't nimble and competent. The experience was amazing. We had terrific food (amazing apps, excellent shellfish, perfect temp steaks, etc.), excellent wines from a really good wine list, and just incredible service. It's a throwback in so many ways, but has a really modern take on high-end service. The meal prep/timing/technique was flawless, which made it worth the expense. If you have the budget and want a true Las Vegas experience for a business meal in a private dining setting, I'd recommend Golden Steer wholeheartedly.

Another 5 Star Dinner with the family. Service was good, food was exceptional. Definitely worth making a reservation months in advance. Everything on the menu is superb. If you want to create a lifelong memory for someone special then this is the place. Best to phone in your reservation vs using open table app.

Does anyone have a reservation for 2 for dinner they no longer want Oct. 20th-22nd? Or know of a reliable reservation trader site?

I will never go back or recommend Golden Steer to anyone What a horrible experience. Thank manager Whitney for ruining our night. It was my wife’s birthday.

The food was good, I had the chicken cacciatore for $34 some odd dollars, my friend had the Seabass and $50 and these are the best values on the menu. We shared a side of cream spinach. My friend had the wedge salad and a glass of wine and I just had water and after 20% tip the bill is $154 and we had to sit at the bar, there were no tables available., The prices make this place a waste of time. Fiket $70. Rib Eye $98 à la carte. There are plenty of great food in a lot of places here. This is an off strip restaurant in a seedy area. Service was OK, not superb. This is an off strip place so if you want to pay $100 for a steak or more, make a reservation a minth in advance or wait in line like a fool, be my guest.

Where should I start 🤔. This place is always busy and always has good food! I always sit at the bar and the bartenders are very friendly and professional. Food is out of this world, the Rockefeller and crab martini to start and after I enjoyed the bone in prime ryb. Highly recommend to try it!

Incredible restaurant. The steaks were some of the best we have ever had. Amazing desserts with many to choose from. You can’t beat the nostalgia of this place.

We dine at the Golden Steer every time we visit. Make your reservation as far out as possible, they can be out as much as 6 months. That should tell you something. We start out with the Raw, super fresh Seafood Appetizer. Table side Caesar salad, they now have white anchovies. My husband and I both had the Prime Rib. Temperature perfect, Blue for me and MR for my husband. So tender and flavorful. We toss up Bananas Foster and Cherries Jubilee, table side. We had Bananas Foster this visit. Service is over the top, from the front door to the attentive wait staff. Beautiful Wine List and well portioned Cocktails. We will see you in June…

I've been to Vegas 4 times, and 3 of those, I've eaten here at the Golden Steer. It's an absolute must visit. I booked 2 months in advance (from Australia), and could only lock in a 9:45pm dinner reservation. I asked for the Elvis booth, but upon arrival, it was occupied. EP's booth is in a corner, and is larger than mostly others, so if the restaurant is busy, they no doubt fill it with groups larger than our 4. The staff member told us he'd look after us, and find us a good spot. We ended up in a booth (Terry Fator's) which was nice. Definitely better than one of the central table & chairs. This time, rather than ordering the usual steak, I tried the Chilean Sea Bass. Probably the nicest tasting fish meal I've ever eaten. Piping hot and just melted in your mouth. Amazing !! See you the next time I'm in Vegas !!

One of the best steaks I've ever had in my lifetime. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend anyone in Las Vegas to try Golden Steer. We sat at Elvis's table, which was a bonus. The history of the restaurant is amazing.

Arrived on 4/25/23 10 minutes to our scheduled reservation; my boyfriend (an African American Man) had his hat on (which he normally takes off without even being asked) however soon as I told them my name; the hostess looks at him and says "sir, we don't allow for baseball caps" No problem, so he walked outside because they needed 10 minutes to get our table together and my friend hadn't arrived just yet. I then went to the bar to order a drink; as I was finishing my drink he called me saying "call me an Uber the manager wont allow me in because I was smoking (marijuana) outside" I just knew there had to be a misunderstanding; so I paid my tab at the bar and walked to the hostess stand to question the phone call I just received. The AGM whom approached my boyfriend outside approached me and said "we are allow to refuse service to anyone, we are a private property and the state of Nevada doesn't allow for smoking on private property" I responded with, "mam'm we are tourist and are not aware of the laws of marijuana/smoking in the State of Nevada, you could have explained to him the law and he would of gladly stopped smoking". She continued to say "we have a sign outside stating we are allowed to refuse service to anyone" I then went outside to locate this "sign" that she states is outside; however I did not find any sign that stated it was a private property or that they have the right to refuse service. I went inside again at this point I'm irate; this restaurant came highly recommended to us by several dozen people. I began to explain to her that I am in the hospitality business and understand every establishment has their own policies; however its how you approach the situation and you don't know anything about customer service. I then walked back outside and found a group of "white men" getting out of there uber/cab vaping. They immediately walked right in with no issue; when it clicked to me....my boyfriend was being discriminated against because he is African American. I began to say outside that they are discrimating when the security wouldn't allow me back inside and then the AGM quickly showed up. I said to her "the problem wasn't that he was smoking, its because he's of color and you don't want him to be in your restaurant because you discriminate against African Americans" all of a sudden she responds with "he can come inside as long as he doesn't smell (of marijuana)" REALLY??????? NO ONE WANTS TO COME INTO YOUR RACIST RESTAURANT and I WILL BE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE THAT Golden Steer Restaurant Las Vegas discriminates against African Americans. I am a white women who dates an African American; in the almost 3 years of us dating we have never endured this type of situation and I will ensure the world continues to hear about our story which we endured at Golden Steer Restaurant!

Delicious. Amazing. First-class service. Super attentive staff. Can’t say enough good things. Bring a big appetite and a big wallet. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent service & food. Pricy, but worth it at least once. Spent 350 total including our dinner for 2 at 250, pop, tax & 20% tip lobster & steak delicious

We waited several months for our reservation and thought the experience was just ok. The service was awesome but the food not outstanding like I was expecting. I thought the Caesar salad was very overpriced. My favorite dish was actually the macaroni and cheese! Received the check to find a mystery charge of $100 for a steak we didn’t order and they don’t even have on the menu anymore so beware.

We were 8 mins late or the reservation I made months before and the first thing the man at the desk said - we will “try to work you into the rotation”. What does that even mean? Did you give away our table? You don’t take walk-ins. We made the reservation months ago. What rotation? We were seated a few Minutes later. But not a great welcome. Service after that was EXCELLENT. Our waiters were great. The food was good. It was what I would expect at a steakhouse. My husband said his ribeye was good. Not the best ever. My prime rib was just good- like average good. A little tough actually. Not seasoned at all. I don’t use salt and I was salting the hell out of it. The shrimp cocktail was average. Large shrimp again not super flavorful. The escargot was delicious and was the best part of the meal. This was NOT the meal I was expecting based on the reviews and prices. I would not return or recommend this restaurant.

We booked our booth at this very popular Vegas steak house 6 months before we went to Vegas so we could make sure we got a booth (table) on the night of our wedding day. The service here was outstanding from the beginning and through out our meal we were looked after. Each booth is named after famous celebrities who used to frequent the restaurant, including Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, The rat pack, Elvis Presley to name a few. We got the Joe De-maggio booth. We started with the ceaser salad which was mixed at our table and was the best we'd ever eaten, in fact the whole meal, was fabulous, i had a Steak whilst Amanda had the lobster each coming with 2 sides. After our meal we given a slice of complimentary cheese as it was our wedding day. Top notch food from a top notch restaurant. 10 out of 10 for everything, we will deffinatlely be booking a booth here when we next fly over to Vegas. Thankyou for making our wedding night such a memorable one. Nigel / Amanda Rogers. UK.

Just by entering you understood.the best Vegas Steakhouse at. Perfect service, relaxing setting, high quality meat, do not forget the caesar salad made at the table.

Attended a group meal here with a set menu in one of the private event rooms. The food was very good, especially for a group event. The outliers were the salad, whose ranch dressing was basically colored water, and the creamed spinach, which had a weird fennel / anise flavor. I would probably come back to check out the full menu.

We had an incredible dinner at Golden Steer. Started with oysters, bone marrow, king crab legs, and lobster – everything was super fresh and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the bone-in ribeye, cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. On the side, we shared creamed spinach, mac & cheese, grilled asparagus, and whipped mashed potatoes – all of it was outstanding. The service was warm and professional, and the atmosphere is classic, historic, and really special. This isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. Hands down the best steakhouse in Vegas – maybe even in the U.S.

This Place Is Bad-I gave it another chance after having an awful experience and this was legitimately awful again! The service was regrettable- we had a celebratory event that was ruined by the bad service. Will never try it again.

Worst experience ever food was cold wine not a bottle under 100 asked for a taxi and they couldn’t call after spending 1000$

My wife and I frequent Las Vegas. We enjoy the energy, food, shopping and just the overall experience. On this last visit, we decided to try Golden Steer based on previous recommendations. With so many choices in Las Vegas, I was hoping that this wasn't just another great steakhouse in a town with many choices. The short of it -- this was an exceptional experience. Below is the story. When you pull up to the steakhouse (we took an Uber from the Wynn) you kind of pause for a moment because it is located in a tiny strip mall a block off of Las Vegas Blvd. We pulled up and a gentleman at the door opened the door for us and provided a warm and friendly welcome. When you step through the doors you feel transported to another time and place. Old Las Vegas, waiters in tuxedos, high energy, dim light and I knew that I was in for a treat. The ambiance was that of a time when the Rat Pack would come over for dinner after their last show. Now we were really excited. We were promptly checked in by the hostess and seated. We got there at 6pm on a Saturday and it was packed. People standing in the bar area laughing and enjoying a drink, the main dining area was completely full with diners enjoying a wonderful night out. We were seated and the staff showed up immediately to provide the menus and give us a moment to look at the wine and cocktail list. We had some of their signature cocktails; think classic cocktails with their twist. Clear ice, big rock, perfectly balanced drinks. We then selected our wine for the evening along with ordering our dinner. Even though we ordered the whole dinner journey at once, the staff notified us that they would expertly pace it out so we could just sit back and enjoy the evening. We had the Shrimp de Jonghe and the beef cheek croquettes for our appetizers. Both were absolutely amazing and beyond what I would expect at a typical steakhouse. We then had the table side Caesar salad. The performance and narration by the server as he mixed the salad is a show unto itself. Entertaining, lighthearted, and just enjoyable. We shared a large steak with the king crab on the side. Perfectly cooked to medium rare and sliced for us to make sharing easy. We had a variety of sides with all of them being delicious. Typical, high quality steakhouse mashed potatoes, creamed corn and Brussel sprouts. We closed with their signature table side Bananas Foster. What an amazing experience over almost three hours. The ambiance was mesmerizing and felt like we were living the history of Las Vegas in an authentic way; not a kitsch re-creation of something. The service was outstanding. The servers have a relaxed professionalism about them. They are wicked smart about the menu and they seem to truly enjoy their work. It comes out in the way they joke with each other and the guests. They created a relaxed, fun, perfectly executed evening. As for the food. They nailed it. Steakhouse menus are pretty straight-forward and I find the key is always how they execute. The kitchen created a really top tier dining experience. So would we go back? Absolutely yes. The Golden Steer is now in our official rotation of restaurants we love and will rave about in Las Vegas.

We had a large party and were extremely disappointed with our experience. The management was rude and constantly scolded us to be quiet, even though we were just trying to enjoy ourselves. It felt like we were being monitored the entire time. The service was so bad that we left after the salad—we couldn’t justify staying any longer. For the high prices, we expected much better. Definitely overrated and not worth the cost. I wouldn’t recommend this place—find somewhere that values your experience."

This place has been on my list for a couple years now. We finally made it happen and it did not disappoint! It has such a fun, somewhat mysterious atmosphere. It’s a little dark, but we loved that. We sat in a booth, so we were able to observe what was around us. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly! Our drinks were absolutely amazing. I had the filet and my husband had the crab legs, beyond what we expected. Hands down the best meal of our trip. I will recommend this place over and over. We will be back.

The Golden Steer touts itself as Vegas' oldest steakhouse, founded in 1958 and frequented by many Hollywood and Vegas legends. While the food is perfectly fine, the restaurant's finest qualities are its iconic status, old school Rat Pack vibe and design, and its super-friendly staff. Located in a nondescript mini-mall, it's walkable from the Sahara Hotel and Casino, which is the northern terminus for the Las Vegas Monorail, if you don't want to drive, taxi or Uber here. The Ahern Hotel (formerly the Lucky Dragon) is next door. Plan MONTHS ahead to secure a reservation, which is essential. I think even the high-top tables in the bar area require a reservation, although the seats at the bar itself may not. They open at 4 pm, and there was a line, with one of the hosts checking folks in on an iPad with a security guard standing by. Beyond the bar area, there is a smaller dining room with all booths (black), with 2 larger rooms beyond with tables and booths (red). I had notified the restaurant earlier that my party size was decreasing from 2 to 1, and still they graciously offered me a booth or table; I thought for sure I'd be seated at the bar. I chose a booth and got Clint Eastwood's in the first room, where Marilyn Monroe, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joe DiMaggio (among others) also had booths. Diners are served by multiple staff members, all but one (the one who took my order) of whom were extremely affable. I had studied the menu online and knew I wanted to try a Ship and Shore (aka Surf and Turf) dinner. I opted for the Shorthorn with lobster tail. The Shorthorn is a 16 oz NY Strip, the lobster tails are jumbo Western Australian, which means huge. The steak was well-seasoned and prepared as ordered. The lobster of course came with drawn butter and was fine. Ship and Shore dinners come with a salad and a side. I chose the Caesar because it is famous. It's also almost twice the cost of the other salads, probably because for parties of 2 or more it's prepared tableside. As a solo diner, my salad was pre-prepared, but tossed and plated tableside. It was fine, but I'm sure the wedge salad would have been equally good. My go-to steakhouse sides are creamed spinach and corn, and I ordered both. Portion sizes were decent and both were good, but the corn was not off-the-cob fresh. What with the complimentary bread basket, I of course had leftovers. My Cherries Jubilee dessert was fully prepared and flambeed tableside. Their Bananas Foster is also served this way, and yes, they both cost twice as much as the other desserts. But it was very delicious and not too boozy, and the show was great. Overall a fine and memorable experience and meal. Dining here seems to have put me on their mailing list; they have steaks, seasonings and butters for sale. I got an offer for a free tin of their popular Sergio's Seasoning ($8 shipping).

Very good food just extremely hard to get a reservation. Very nostalgic old school charm great staff food if you get a chance give it a try

Well deserved if a 5 star rating. The shorthorn strip loin was cooked perfectly and one of the best I had. The staff were very professional and efficient. The atmosphere was straight out of the 1960s. Just Awesome

Had the filet mignon, best damn steak I have ever had anywhere! They advertise as biggest baked potato but really they are average size

I booked this restaurant some time ago having seen it’s near on impossible to get a same day reservation. I was apprehensive having seen pictures of the outside but inside it’s lovely and has a god vibe. This was a special occasions as it was my husbands birthday. This place is expensive! Steak are large 14oz-50oz which if your from the UK can be overwhelming, didn’t look like the kind of place you could ask to share but we did later see a couple sharing a steak. We offered the king crab, this was cooked perfectly and was very fresh. My husband had the longhorn steak which was cooked to perfection., we also had a side of fries (which were like British chips) and creamed sweetcorn. We also got a free cheese cake for my husbands birthday. For just food only it was $316! Staff are lovely and are very helpful.

Like a trip back in time. Have now been several times. Our favorite place for fine dining in Vegas when we go. Love the Prime Rib, Seafood Tower and table side Ceasar salads. Often booked weeks in advance.

So I have been meaning to try this place for years. Unfortunately you have to book months in advance to get a table so I never did. But then I learned how you can eat there if you really want to, without a reservation. In the bar area is limited seating at the bar and a few high-top tables. You DO NOT need a reservation to eat in this area. The trick is to arrive approximately 30 minutes before they open at 4:30. When facing the door stand to the right. Shortly before they open the maître d' will come out and start checking people in. IF they have some cancelations you might score a table in the restaurant when they open, but otherwise they will direct you to the bar area where you can get the full menu at the bar or the high tops. Of course if these are full you will have to wait for an opening, but that is why you get there right at open. The ambiance of the restaurant is also something to behold. Like you are taking a step back into the 1950's. Unfortunately the Rat Pack isn't walking through these doors again, but it hasn't changed since they were there. As for the food, some items were excellent, others were just average. I know they are famous for the Caesar salad, but I didn't find it particularly special. It wasn't bad, but I was expecting more given the hype around it. For steaks, the bone-in ribeye was incredible. Maybe the best I have ever had and I have had steak for 40+ years. I do recommend getting the maître d' butter on it for an extra taste explosion. For sides, I tried the cream corn and the twice baked. The cream corn is amazing and like nothing you have tried before, contains nutmeg and cinnamon. The twice baked did not impress, and I would recommend trying another starch. I passed on dessert, so nothing to add on that. The cocktail menu is impressive though, they have a wide variety of drinks including those for after dinner. If you haven't tried the Golden Steer, I highly recommend going, if only once.

An experience to try... The most famous ceasar's salad in Las Vegas, in the place where they ate the true legends, one above all Frank Sinatra .. But not only words also deeds, salad prepared directly at the table in front of you, excellent porterhouse for 2 and fabulous side dishes. High price even if in vegas everything is a bit more expensive, but it's worth it and I will definitely go back!!

Finally managed to make it here and it was totally worth it. Awesome service, great food and drinks made for a truly fantastic evening. One of the best prime ribs I’ve ever had and the table side Caesar was great! Cannot wait to go back

This is my second visit here. Four years ago it was just my wife and I. This year we were a group of 6. The service was top-notch, both relaxed and spot on. The table-side service is old school and delightful. Foot was first class. I will go back.

Went here to try the stark and lobster tail and what can I say the steak was the best I've ever tasted , got the ceaser salad and french onion soup as starter and OMG , unreal , would recommend if ever in vegas

We enjoyed a most spectacular dinner at the Golden Steer steakhouse while celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. The food was glorious. The drinks were perfect and the staff could not have been nicer -every single one of them. We were treated like royalty from the minute we walked in the door. After dinner, we were even given a tour of some of the back of house and shown the recent remodel. This place will give you the most classic old-school Las Vegas steakhouse experience. It is not cheap, but it was worth every penny. Reservations can be difficult to get, but we were diligent and were finally able to take advantage of a cancellation. Five stars in every aspect and highly recommended.

We have experienced fine dining across the world, but have affinity for the classic steakhouse experience. Our dinner and service was top tier. We greatly appreciate the quality of food, the impeccable service, and the ambiance. Thank you!

My friend and I were vacationing in Vegas and she was able to get a reservation at Golden Steer. It was very crowded and service was scarce. I ordered an 8 ounce filet and it was not good. Very tough and sinewy. I paid $70 for a fatty filet. I will never go back.

Not worth the hype. $42 for two caesar salads, which wasn't anything special, is absolutely insane. Appetizers were ok and the steak was average. Our bill was 600 US for 4 people. Waste of money. Very disappointed.

Used to be amazing, gone there for years. The Filet Mignon was the worst I've ever had. The service this time was horrible and it was so noisy we had to shout to hear each other. Do yourself a favor and go to the Southwest Steakhouse at the Wynn instead.

We had dinner at Golden Steer the other night. Place is wonderful, service, atmosphere, and the food outstanding. The history they share with you is awesome. The Caesars salad is a must! Everyone who worked our table was great. Can’t wait to get back again.

Poor and slow. Was shocked at the pretentious service and lack luster food. Not worth the off the strip pricing. 1950’s atmosphere.

This sounds arrogant. I appreciate you don’t know the writer of this review but if you did the value of what I’m about to say would increase significantly. I love America. I grew up here and I live in Europe. I visit the US about six times a year. In the last six months I’ve been to 8 US states. Whenever I’m here my go to question for anyone that will listen, froma cab driver to a concierge is, ‘What’s the best steak restaurant in the area. ‘ In the last four weeks I’ve stayed in the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle and Denver and upon arrival in Las Vegas I had steak on my mind. When you arrive are The Golden Steer you are underwhelmed. You would never see this place from the street and want to go here. When you step foot in this old school classic you begin to get the feeling that you may be in for a treat….Treat is an understatement. This place is amazing. I want to marry the chef. It’s official. This is the holy grail of steak. I’m done. Never again will I seek betterment. I’ve found it at The Golden Steer. The food, ambience and the service were sublime. I will forever preach the good work of this wonderful Establishment. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

As someone else said, the outside makes you question your choices, but the inside is like being in an old time movie about Vegas. Hands down the absolute best mushrooms I've had in a steakhouse anywhere. Food, drinks & service were outstanding. Every Caesar salad I have ever had before this one was a lie. Seriously the best, even people who thought they didn't like Caesar salads tried it & agreed. Next time we will schedule ourselves better because we wanted to try Bananas Foster or Cherries Jubilee but we had to run to our next destination.

We had a very nice evening here. Our reservation was for 9:00 and we were seated by 9:15. The sommelier was a super pro and the team that worked our table was great. Our server was a little green but he was nice and working on his technique. The lobster tail was an 8/10. A little dry, but still very flavorful. At $109 a tail, I did expect a little more precision in the cooking; someone came out while we were halfway through our salads to ask if we were ready for our lobster. When we said no, perhaps they went under a heat lamp? The macaroni and cheese was tasty and the wedge salad was just okay. When our server asked if we’d like regular ice or a big cube in our bourbon, we were a little surprised that the “big cube” was a $2 up charge. Still, a very good dinner, very nice staff, and a very lovely experience. I would go back and give it another chance.

My wife and I travelled to Golden Steer for Thanksgiving tonight. We had been planning this trip to Vegas for a year (first time ever in Vegas) and made reservations several months ago to GS. We are foodies and wanted this to be very special as GS has a legendary reputation for being the best of the best. On one hand, this WAS special for us. And it WAS good. However… This was a somewhat unusual experience in the sense everything OTHER than the main dishes weren’t just good, but the best of its kind my wife and I have ever tasted. The main dishes, however… the exact opposite. Caesar salad? The BEST we have ever had… The bottle of Riesling? So darn smooth and tasty. One of the best we have ever had. The bananas foster??? The… very… best… EVER! My kudos to AB for making a great foster. The staff and personnel (including Eric, Sam, AB, and Wendy)… so sweet to us, and amazing to see the salads and desserts made table side. Awesome experience. The burgundy mushrooms? What a side!!!!!!! Even the whipped potatoes were out of this world! All of this above, combined with the classic and old school ambiance, was enough to get this to a 3.75 out of 5 (rounded up to 4). Problem is… we then get to the main dishes. This is where most of your dollars will go. This was not money well spent. My wife ordered a shorthorn NY strip and I ordered the 18 Oz Diamond cut prime rib. I won’t lie… these dishes were not good. They were just outright… blah! Prime rib: tasteless. It looked medium rare (which is what I asked for) but tasted medium well if not slightly well done. It had little flavor. I had to douse it in horseradish just to get taste. Shorthorn: another medium rare ask that looked medium rare, but was as tough to cut through as a well done steak, a little chewy, and not only more fatty than we are accustomed to seeing on a strip, but the fat flavor was… off putting. The only saving grace on the main dishes was we ordered a giant Australian lobster tail to split and try. we knew we would have little room for it and were at budget, but couldn’t pass up ordering it. It was VERY good. Every bit as delicious as the YouTube videos you see make it seem. Without that lobster tail, the main dishes would have been ranked at a D or D+ on the steak and prime rib. A confounding experience as we loved so much about GS, do NOT regret going here, will view our experience in a generally positive and endearing memorable light, but will do so knowing the main beef dishes were massive letdowns, which leaves a sour taste in one’s mouth considering we’re talking $140 there. Would we go back? Yes… but would probably stay away from that which GS is most known for… their steaks and prime rib. Again… confounding. Hope this review came across as fair and balanced. Happy Thanksgiving. :)

Have been trying for months to get in and I finally made it happen. Well worth the wait! The lobster was amazing, the steak excellent. But the cream corn stole the show. keep trying if you haven't got in you will be glad you did.

Fantastic steakhouse, very American, always full and crowded, we found a place thanks to the booking through a friend of the owner. Impeccable service, very country but refined atmosphere, table service a little flashy and excessive but justified by the price. The meat is fabulous, the rib eye was one of the best ever eaten, cooked to perfection and even the prime rib was perfect. We were really satiated with only one course. Expensive but not excessive

Touted by many as Las Vegas best steakhouse, my overall opinion was meh. Had the 12oz Filet Mignon medium rare and the baked potato. Steak was a little over cooked, and was ok, but I can cook a better steak at home. It’s way overpriced, like everything else in Vegas, but I was expected if much more and ended up with Meh. Won’t be back.

We made this reservation back in April and we were so excited to try this very well known and greatly over hyped steakhouse. Our reservation was for 9:15 pm which is generally pretty late for us to eat but it was the only time available, so we took it. We waited 5 months and looked over the menu in anticipation at what we would order. Sadly, the night didn’t go very well. We arrived early for our reservation and expected to wait but we definitely didn’t expect to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time. They were very busy but that’s just not acceptable. We were finally seated at 9:45 pm, 30 minutes after our reservation time and our waiter told us they were bringing out “complimentary meatballs” for us to try since they had dropped the ball on the reservation time. We didn’t complain at all, so that was a nice touch. We ordered the table side caesar salad, the Australian lobster tail and the well touted prime rib. We also added a side of whipped potatoes. The table side caesar is a house specialty and it was frankly, NOT GOOD! The dressing was so disappointing and heavily dressed to the point of being soggy and the flavor was just not there. For 42.00 you better knock your customers socks off and this just missed the mark completely. My prime rib came out cooked correctly but the entire plate was full of blood. No au jus was offered for dipping and we had to ask for horseradish. To top it off, the prime rib was tough and had zero flavor. I know it’s the end of the night but in my 50+ years of dining out I’ve never had tough prime rib…I didn’t even know that was possible. The lobster was not great and for $105 again, you better impress with seasoning or something. Whipped potatoes were well, whipped. Just okay. The employees were all lovely so for that alone, I’m leaving two stars but we were definitely disappointed and won’t recommend this place to our friends or others here at TA.

So lucky to have got a reservation here, they are very hard to get. Simply the most fabulous steak we have ever eaten, service outstanding, whole experience was so memorable and we will never forget this visit - nowhere in the UK will ever come close. A truly magical dining experience. Frank Sinatra booth was so special to be at. Thank you for making our meal with you one to remember. If we are in vegas again we will try our hardest to come back if we are lucky enough.

This is a perfect steakhouse! I absolutely love the food as well as the services. Our visit was worth it!

Had dinner here tonight, and it was like stepping back into the 60s or 70s. Both the food and service was amazing. It’s not much to look at from the road, but step inside and dine with them - you’ll be glad you did.

What a fantastic place ! The vibe and and ambiance are hard to beat in in Las Vegas, staff were very welcoming and extremely professional. Big thank you to Mr McManus who took time out to tell us some of the Golden Steer history. Myself and son went with the Caesar Salad for one of the starts which was made directly at the table, followed on with steaks which were cooked to perfection.

This little unassuming restaurant (from the outside) is a class act. A favourite with locals, walking through the doors is like stepping into a Vegas time machine. This is a place where the staff are happy to see you and make you feel welcome. They give you a quick history, which as they longest running steakhouse it has quite an interesting one, from Hollywood legends and entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Muhammed Ali, just to name a few, to being the meeting place for the "Chicago Outfit" which often made plans in a separate dining area known as the mob room. The staff showed us around and told us where the original entrance was, and where the "service entrance" used to be. We were seated at Booth 11, where mob lawyer And Vegas mayor, Oscar Goodman and his wife used to eat. Much of the material for the movie, "Casino" was based on real-life events and stories from interactions between Goodman and Tony "the ant". It definitely feels old school Vegas, we ordered a seafood platter, crab cake, caesar salad and longhorn steak and lobster to share. They make the Caesar salad from scratch directly at your table announcing each ingredient as they mix it in. Everything was absolutely amazing, I also enjoyed one of their signature cocktails, "the golden steer" .. delicious! This is one of the best meals in a long time. My advice is to avoid the hype and skip the "corporate" signature chef steakhouse and enjoy something that is 100% authentic and uniquely Vegas at the Golden Steer. You'll be glad from the moment you open the door. Hint: Make a reservation at least two weeks in advance. This place is super popular both with locals and tourists. Request one of their signature booths.

Very nice. Had to book my rez in February for a May visit. Been trying to get in forever. I had Lamb, my wife had Filet Mignon. Table-side Caesar Salad and cherries jubilee. Great service, be ready to spend and dress nice!

The Golden Steer provides an amazing dining experience featuring top notch service and absolutely outstanding food!

The best steak ever! Had to make a reservation. The service was fantastic and the best steak ever. The portions are generous. If you want to have a superb dinner then look no further. Prices are not cheap, dinner for 3 was over $500 with no alcohol. That being said dinner was so good I made two more reservations for later in the year. You get what you pay for and this dinner was worth every penny. Highly recommend. Best to call for a reservation.

Everything was delicious and the level of service incredible! We loved the Caesar salad prepared at the table. The crab legs were huge and already cut open for us. Steak was cooked perfectly with so much flavor. Portions are large so don’t be afraid to share. I wish we had room for dessert! The interior was cozy and classic Vegas in style. So much history at this place. Definitely worth the visit! Reservations are needed months in advance.

The steak we ordered was cooked to perfection. The wine list was very generous. Completely recommend this for a date!!!!

Couldn’t get a reservation so we went anyway. This is Vegas after all and this is Vegas’ oldest continuously operating Steakhouse for good reason. No make that for great reason, service worthy of a tip and food worthy of an award. We got seated pretty quickly at the bar, which worked out great cause our favorite sports team was playing and won! But be warned, coming here makes other restaurants pale by comparison. Seriously this one of the best steakhouses on earth!

Some places have a tough time matching their hype. But the Golden Steer not only matches their hype, they exceed it. The restaurant excels in all phases - great food, authentic throw-back Las Vegas ambiance and awesome and friendly service.

This place is phenomenal! Amazing staff and food. The experience of the service was top notch. Salads made table side, had a tomahawk steak that we shared between 4 people w pieces to spare. Cooked too perfection. Sides def shareable. We had a party of 14 and they were able to make us all feel comfortable and get what we needed and wanted. Dessert flambeed tableside was fun to watch. A great place for days night or friends gathering. It is a bit pricey so look up the menu before going so there's no sticker shock.

Since I can't locate my 1st review will write another one and maybe this one will get posted. Not worth the hype - Nice atmosphere, but the pricing is not consistent with the food quality. Ordered filet and lobster - had to send my lobster back - overcooked - As the night got later - and busier - harder to find a waiter to assist you since they are all running around helping everyone- you don't have a designated waiter - they work as a team - seems impersonal - $525.00 for 2 people is a little over the top and not even a celebrity chef - would not recommend - just Vegas gouging.

This is a very classy restaurant with amazing food. Prepare to be waited on by a team of professionals; they took such good care of us throughout our entire meal. There are a lot of special things about this restaurant such as seeing the history of celebrities who frequented over the years through photos and paintings. Enjoying table-side prepared Ceasers salad and desserts is also extra special. I know we will return to Golden Steer during a future visit to Las Vegas. Excited to try their new location in New York City too.

We came here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The table side Caesar was great! I normally don't like to see how the sausage is made and I was a little hesitant, but it was delicious. Our steaks were so tender and flavorful. Our side items were asparagus, which was delicious and a baked potato. My only complaint about the baked potato is that it truly was not large enough enough for two people to share, and it was not hot enough to melt the cheese, but it was cooked evenly all the way through. As a bonus, we got a complementary slice of a delicious chocolate mousse cake for my birthday. It was so light and amazing! This is probably the most expensive dinner that we have ever had but the atmosphere, experience and the food was well worth it.

Outstanding experience- service, food, ambiance and drinks. It was all there. Great experience and I would recommend you try it.

Amazing place. So much history and the service was impeccable. It was hard getting a reservation but it was worth it. ....

We were told we had to ‘go to the Golden Steer’ so we did. It was very hard to get them to answer the phone to make a reservation, luckily I know someone who knows someone! We had an early reservation (5:30 pm) so it wasn’t too busy. Love the ‘old Vegas’ feel down to a doorman waiting to open the door for you. The food was amazing (and expensive). The service was impeccable. The sommelier was very helpful.

What an experience! Where to begin. The place was beautiful inside. Everything was so elegant and high class. The service was top notch. The place was full but it felt like everyone was waiting on us. The gentleman that did our caesar salad was so awesome. He explained the history of the caesar salad to us while he was making it. He was very knowledgeable, professional and a bit charming. Total class act. All the waiters were A+. Now let’s get to the good part. The Food. Wow, wow and wow! The best dinner I have ever had. I had salmon and it was like melted butter in my mouth. Unbelievable. My husband had the steak and lobster. He shared a bite of his steak with me. Not only tender as hell but the best flavor. Everything from the dinner rolls to the desserts were incredible. Don’t know who the chef is but give him/her a raise because the food was the best I have ever had. I highly recommend the creamed spinach and the escargot. Thank you to the owners of The Golden Steer Steakhouse for reminding me what a great restaurant can be.

Having heard about Golden Steer since moving to Henderson NV in '23, we made reservations and looked forward to the experience. Little did we know it would be QUITE an experience. We arrived at 1545 for our 1630 reservation and were #8 or 9 in line. Everyone lines up before the door opens as many folks don't have reservations and being early is the best shot at a bar table or high top. While waiting, the gentleman in front of us fainted. He got right back up and everyone around him showed concern and sadly, he fainted again. The other folks and his friend grabbed him and started giving him water. My wife went to the front door and started knocking hard. It was 20 minutes before service started, so she had to knock hard as the Staff was prepping for service. The Staff opened the door, were made aware of the situation and jumped into action. They took him inside and gave him assistance. Within minutes, an ambulance was onsite to provide first aid. A member of the Staff was nice enough to come advise us he was fine and stayed to enjoy his dinner. The Staff was nice enough to provide my wife with a great dessert. To us, the Golden Steer has earned 5 stars and we haven't gotten to the food yet.... We requested a seat at the bar (our preference) and that was no problem. The Bar Staff (Leeann, Phil, Alejandro and Isaiah) greeted us warmly and took our initial cocktail orders. Their old fashioned is legendary so that was my choice. The Mrs. went with the spicy margarita. Both were recommended by Phil and were excellent. Leeann assisted us with our appetizer/entree selections. We always ask for suggestions because these folks know that menu! After going through a few "this vs. that" discussions, we decided on the meatballs for an app, the prime rib for me and the filet for the Mrs. The meatballs were amazing. Leeann advised the butchers use steak trimmings and you could taste the difference. The sauce was excellent. The entrees came right on time and wow - the prime rib was very flavorful and delicious. The filet was beautiful, so tender and the Mrs. did not offer me one bite! The sides (twice baked potatoes & Brussels sprouts) were also excellent. The Bar Staff kept checking on us and made sure everything was perfect. When you watch a Staff of this caliber work the bar and the floor, it's like a ballet. Our plates were delivered with a certain flare that only a Team that has worked together for years can perform. Every time our water glasses needed filled, someone was right there. When you finished an item, the empty plate disappeared. When we mentioned how great the meatball sauce was, 2 other Staff members told us it was their favorite. Every Staff member we spoke to were warm & friendly. Personally, we wish we could enter 2 reviews - one for how the Staff handled an urgent situation and one for the meal. Both would be 5 stars! Many THANKS to the Staff for an awesome evening and to Leeann, Phil, Alejandro and Isaiah for making our 1st visit incredible. We will be back.. Cheers, L&J Henderson NV

Fantastic experience all around. Nice, old-school ambiance and staff who were friendly and professional without being stuffy and snooty. I ordered the Caesar salad and got to see what all the fuss was about. My filet was cooked to perfection, but my husband’s steak was a bit undercooked (which was surprising) but we were able to send it back with no issues. This place is very unassuming from the exterior but an upscale experience within. I recommend to anyone looking to have a fantastic steak dinner and escape the chaos of the casinos on the strip.

One of the best steakhouses that I have ever experienced. The Ceasar salad was excellent and definitely recommended. We split a steak, Australian lobster and king crab. All recommended but the lobster was the best between the three meats. We also got the cherry jubilee and bananas foster, both unbelievable and definitely worth trying. The Caesar’s salad and both deserts were made in from of you. I will repeat in my future Vegas trips. Service was also excellent.

I will say that my son made the reservation too late for us to make a show after dinner, they were extremely accommodating getting us in earlier even though they were fully booked so we could make the show. These people are sooooo nice and pleasant. The food was outstanding, we all had Caesar salad done at our table (The best we all have ever had) and steaks and lobsters that were outstanding. Service was incredible!! We sat in the booth where Elvis always sat after each of his shows. We all will definitely be back, soooo good!!!

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at the Golden Steer. We were seated in Sammy Davis Jr’s booth which was historically fun. We had the table side Caesar salad. It was good but I would skip it next time. Quite the racket to charge$21 pp for mostly lettuce. I had the 8 oz filet and he had the 12 oz. Both cooked to perfection and so flavorful. We shared a baked potato and were so glad we did because it was huge. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert. The staff were all amazing and attentive. I would definitely recommend visiting here but book a reservation far ahead. It got very busy by the time we left (around 8:30). Is it pricey? Yes. Was the steak worth it? Yes. Caesar salad? No. It’s typical Vegas pricing but if you don’t mind that and you want to hang where many famous celebrities often did, go for it.

Very much the Old Vegas vibe, with lots of interesting history attached. Judging from the previous reviews, it seems that a lot of the added customer interaction has been dropped from the menu. Our exchanges with the staff consisted of placing the order, having it delivered to the table, followed eventually by the bill when we managed to catch one of the staff to get it for us. The restaurant was fully booked - my friend arranged the table back in March - and the prices are significantly higher than they were at the time of the booking, so we can only assume that Vegas hospitality venues are making hay while the sun shines. We had the Caesar Salad to share as a starter - made at the table by a guy who didn’t say a word to us - which was good, but the lettuce leaves weren’t as fresh and crispy as they should have been for the price. For the main we shared a Tomahawk Steak: again, good but not exceptional as it should have been for the price tag. Perhaps there was a lot lacking simply due to the fact that the place was completely full, but whilst this may have been the reason, it certainly isn’t an excuse. Added to which, was a little galling to be expected to add a handsome tip on top. I’d like to go back again, but only if I was sure that there was a return to the good old days of customer service in this historic steakhouse.

We visited on Valentines Day, for Dinner. Naturally I had to make a Reservation well in advance. My Lady and I really enjoyed our Meal. They were very busy so it took longer than usual to get our food. Everything was Excellent and we have been back since.

the food was very good as was the service the restaurant has a really neat story behind it however it is the typically over priced Las Vegas restaurant/ Steak house. the steaks were no better then a Texas Roadhouse as were the sides and the staff were friendly and fast but like i said a good one time experience for you but that is about it-you kkow to say you've ate there. wofe and i ate for 298 and some change, we both had water, i had a small prime rib she had a small filet and we both had a side salad. we had a twice baked potato and an order of mushrooms and the wife had a slice of carrot cake....so was to us a little over priced.

Extremely disappointed, started out really nicely sitting at a bar hi top table but then staff started ghosting us, salad was ok, nothing special waited forever for the steak & lobster and was it a real disappointment l, steak was cold, yes cold and chewy while lobster was semi warm and sides were warm. Best part of the hugely disappointing meal was the sides, then the lobster but the steak was a total bust

Disappointed! Food was awful. Service was great! Environment was pretty. Not worth wasting time and money. Sent food back, onion soup was cold. Steaks were loaded with salt. Baked potato was nothing special. Dessert not great.

We brought our newlywed grandkids to dinner and they were amazed. They had never experienced anything like this place and they are both steak lovers. Starting with some stuffed mushrooms and shrimp cocktail; these are so large that I found them tough, but everyone was deciding their steak choice. 2 filets, a strip and a prime rib that I could only eat half of. Our sides included spinach, twice baked potato, sautéed mushrooms and the absolute BEST creamed corn you will even place in your mouth. We shared some desserts but the "special" cappuccino always ends our meal. The homeless man by our hotel had a great dinner that night.

I was met by a friendly hostess, which started the evening off fine, however the atmosphere in the restaurant was boisterous. The decor reminded me a bit of a local steakhouse with its red leather booths and wood panel walls. I ordered the house salad to start and it was tossed at the table, a good experience. My meal was a 16oz Shorthorn NY with a side twice baked potato and cream spinach. The steak was a bit of a tough chew but was cooked as requested and had good flavor. The twice baked potato was fantastic, the cream of spinach was really good, and I didn’t care for the glass of Cabernet Sauvignon Torres. The service from a few different servers was good, but it could have been better with less attitude from the primary server. A few of the tables had loud and rowdy conversations that was a distraction as I shouldn’t be able to hear a conversation three tables away. Factor in the three men in the booth next to me that were obnoxious, crude and were constantly swearing. This type of language I expect to hear in a pub, not an upscale steakhouse. Based on my overall experience, I would avoid this place next time I am in Vegas.

Our 3rd visit to our annual favorite place to eat in Vegas ! Great as usual ! Service was excellent and food was very good - will be back again !

Vegas Birthday dinner. We somehow got a last minute booking for Friday night at 8. Six of us took a taxi out to this old establishment that has a history and well renowned steak house. It is as old school as it gets and we loved it. Steak, potatoes, Caesar salad. Starting with martinis and old fashioned all around. Loads of wine and a great meal. Nothing changes and it’s great that way.

Golden Steer Steakhouse is hands down the best steakhouse in Las Vegas. The moment you walk through the doors, you're transported to a classic era of old Vegas — and the best part is, it hasn’t aged a day. The decor is perfectly preserved and tastefully updated, capturing that nostalgic charm without feeling dated. It’s like walking into the very first night they opened. The ambiance is upscale yet welcoming, the service is top-tier, and the steaks? Absolute perfection. From start to finish, they deliver a five-star experience that feels authentic and timeless. This is the only steakhouse I make a point to visit every single time I'm in Vegas. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience with rich history, classy vibes, and phenomenal food — this is it.

Very pricey for mediocre food. 8oz Filet Mignon was $94. Sides extra. We don't mind paying for excellence, but the steak wasn't. $28 crabcake was disappointing. Half breading, half crab. No flavor. Service was excellent. Minimal parking. Reservations were made 4 months prior. Received text advising dress code. Casual smart. Lot of shorts and t-shirts.
Disappointing!
We reserved 5 months in advance. Without Google Maps, driving to this restaurant would be a pain. It is on a busy one-way highway. We were seated promptly after arriving. We ordered caesar salad, onion soup, meatballs, petite filet, and "chicken of the angels". Meatballs arrived slightly higher than room temp, meaty, but overall disappointing. Onion soup was light on actual pieces of onion, but not overly cheesy either. Caesar salad was excellent and the highlight of our dinner. My petite filet was nicely cooked with a very good peppercorn sauce, but the portion of the sauce was tiny. The "chicken of the angels" was greasy and nothing heavenly at all! It gave my SO heartburn! I had 2 glasses of wine from the "by the glass" menu. They were good. Overall, after all the rave reviews, we expected our dinner to be fantastic! Not even close to being good. The location of the restaurant is in a very marginal area, in a dumpy strip mall. We actually did not feel safe in the parking lot. While the staff are welcoming and service is pretty good, the food was not earth shattering at all!!! We have eaten at many of the steakhouses in Las Vegas. This meal was the most disappointing. Our standard is "Smith & Wollensky" as we NEVER have anything less than a spectacular meal in any of their restaurants. Golden Steer was a big meh! We won't go back.
