My friend at I shared a couple of delicious appetizers before a concert, including the bruchetta. We were impressed by how friendly and authentic our waiter was.

We south of the city and we went to Seattle for an event. We stopped here for a drink and an appetizer. We had a beer, a glass of wine, an appetizer and french fries. We also had a $9 bottle of fizzy water because my friend said yes without thinking that she would have to pay for it. The tab was $65 which included a gratuity. Perhaps we country girls are just not used to big city prices. The salmon spread was good and so were the fries and the service was also good. But I would take my bar business elsewhere in the future.

What a beautiful restaurant - great view and in a beautiful hotel. The menu is short and almost perfect - there wasn't anything I didn't want to order. I arrived late for lunch and had short period of time until I had to leave for a meeting. I met my colleagues there and they were having a fried chicken club sandwich. I ordered the same and it arrived 10 minutes before I had to leave. I was able to have two bites and it was delicious - my mouth is watering for more. I wish I could have stayed to finish - after leaving I wish I had it packed to go. It was perfectly constructed with very crispy spicy checking, bacon, tomato - etc etc. The bun was delicious - everything was. It was the single bet thing I ate I Seattle but wish I could have finished. I will try to find my way back to Seattle in the next few months just so I can re-order and enjoy - please don't take it off the menu.

Looking for some refuge on a very hot day in Seattle we treated ourselves to lunch here. The service was dreadful. There was plenty of waiting staff and yet there were tables left uncleaned while they chatted or waisted time. The food was one of the most mediocre I have ever had and on top of it they charged us for the bread as if it was a starter...The only positive thing is the restaurant decor which is very nice.

Came during happy hour, but weren't offered the happy hour menu. Had to ask. Could have been an oversight, but made me question whether they wanted us to pay for more expensive main menu. Do make sure you get the H/H menu between 4-6pm for some excellent deals. Had 12 oysters for $18 which was a bargain! Had lots of oysters on trip, but here was the only place where I got pieces of shell on my lips and in my mouth. Nice wine and beer options. Service slow. Signed bill to our room in the hotel, then on check out found that 4 negronis had been added to it after we had settled and signed.

We ate at the Goldfinch Tavern last night celebrating the 10th anniversary of a very special couple. Everything about the evening was outstanding. We had a private dining room that helped to create the perfect ambience to celebrate not only the couple's anniversary but all the couples there. It was a gift and will long be remembered. Everything from the moment we arrived was perfect - and it's not often I say that. The food, wines, and attentive service made this a memorable night.

We tried the Happy Hour at the Four Season's Goldfinch Tavern and were very impressed with every aspect of our visit there. The drinks were very good (they have an assortment of cocktails, beer, and wine) and the food was flavorful and filling. We wanted this to be our dinner, so chose the hamburger option (I really wanted the crab cakes but knew they wouldn't last) and were more than satisfied with the taste and portion size. The wait staff were efficient and very friendly. Although it was a Thursday around 5 pm, the bar scene was lively (a conference overflow from upstairs helped increase numbers); the wait staff easily accommodated the rush of people and did so in style. I suspect that as word increasingly gets out about the Happy Hour that the day of your visit won't matter. For now, it's particularly busy on Thursdays and Fridays, but more than likely this will become a staple in Seattle's treasures.

10 of us at lunch at Goldfinch before an outing to the Seattle Art Museum. It was average - not terrible but not amazing. There were not many in the restaurant and yet the service was not that quick. The food was serviceable. All in all, not an outstanding stop at a Four Seasons.

This duo of big names doesn't deliver. Furthermore, obligatory service charge of 20% while service can be nonexistent. We went for Sunday brunch ($45 per person, includes oysters, poke, and one entree from a selection of 5 or so from the kitchen) around 1 PM. Keep in mind that brunch ends at 2 PM, however, they stop re-stocking the buffet earlier. In fact, by the time we arrived there were no oysters in sight on the buffet. When we asked, they obliged with 3 oysters for our table. They would not be res-stocking the oysters we were told as they ran out. 10 minutes later, another couple at a table near the window received a platter of oysters, including Shigoku oysters. Guess they didn't run out for them. Interestingly enough, that particular couple also had the brunch buffet. They were also like mini-celebrities, receiving visits from many of the servers and management. Lots of business cards were being passed around. Even if they had ordered the oysters from the regular menu we were told that there were no more oysters. To be told that there were no more oysters despite another 45 minutes left on brunch, while another table gets preferential treatment was annoying. Our waiter was conscientious at the start, telling us that he'd keep a watch on our buffet progress before starting the kitchen orders. Only one of the 5 ordered a single entree, which came in a timely fashion. The other four had to wait on average 20 minutes to closer to 40 minutes for their kitchen items to arrive. We had to flag down one of the managers to inquire why two people received their entrees while two others were left unaddressed. We had already had to ask about the oysters and for poke (which was stellar), so to press for the MIA entrees was uncomfortable. The manager, Jessica, was receptive and helpful thankfully. Others have reviewed on Yelp that service is spotty and at times it feels like a disappearing act. We definitely had that issue. While our waiter explained that the kitchen snafu was due to was another private party going on and he apologized, he either went off shift/was too busy to deal with getting our check/or possibly too embarrassed. We never saw him again after letting him know that all of us are local, have been to Goldfinch numerous times before, and some of us have stayed here. By the time we got the remaining two entrees, we had them box them to go. The situation became too tragi-comic to want to finish eating there. Goldfinch Tavern is well-situated, near SAM and the Symphony. Pike Place is close too (oh, don't they sell oysters there?). Despite convenience, we won't be dining there again despite the power branding of Ethan Stowell and Four Seasons. There's no call for such a high service fee of 20% while you clearly have to advocate for yourself. That is called counter service, not the experience you expect from a high-end hotel.

The food is amazing, everything is so nice and the service staff is very good. I went there at night, it was very romantic and got to see the sunset and The Seattle Great Wheel, it was one of the best views ever. I really enjoyed my dinner there and I would definitely recommend it.

Elegant setting with wonderful views of the sound and downtown Seattle. Many gluten-free options too. I was delighted to find this gem a couple of years ago. I am a vegan, and even in Seattle, there aren't a ton of places to go to for upscale vegan dining. Well, this is it. Even if you are not vegan, you must try something from the plant-based menu. You'll find items like Cedar Baked Tempeh, Cauliflower Ceviche, and Coconut Mousse. Service is excellent. This may just be the highlight of your trip.

It’s funny because Doc and I often avoid eating at restaurants in hotels and yet our Seattle friends seek them out! So when they took us to Goldfinch in the Four Seasons we did not know what we’d be getting ourselves into. We were pleasantly surprised. Often times you find that hotel restaurants are overpriced for sub par food. But not the Goldfinch! Now I’m not going to lie, this is a spendy place so you need to be prepared for that but you can also be prepared to be WOWed! The burger was so thick I couldn’t get my big mouth around it. That says a LOT! I love a good burger and I’d been craving one and I believe this to be in the top 3 best burgers I’ve ever had. You MUST Try it. They also have great Martinis and the beet and crab salad is amazing!

Located in the Four Seasons Hotel, this is a good place to have a drink at Happy Hour. My personal feeling is to go to a place different than that you are staying in. It was raining hard so we stayed in for Happy Hour. Not at all bad but still would prefer somewhere else. Pricey but good service and comfortable.

Try the beet and crab appetizer! It was wonderful. Bartender was very nice, remembered my order from the prior day. Service at tables was a bit slow. Steak and burgers are divine. Pricey but worth it.

This restaurant is in the Four Seasons Hotel on Union St. They offer a brunch for $49 which includes unlimited mimosas, a variety of seafood (mainly) appetizers, desserts and your choice of an entree. A great deal! The view is of the Ferris wheel. Service by Mili was amazing. We had a great time, and look forward to going again.

We happened by the Four Seasons walking our dogs in downtown. We vowed to come back for a drink to get a great view of Puget Sound. The view did not disappoint! Spectacular. The only thing better would be an outside deck. We came at brunch and it was fantastic! Exceptional product - from the seafood (shrimp and oysters) on ice to the fresh asparagus and other veg, to the cheese assortment, smoothies and desserts that accompany the made-to-order selection for each person. I liked this array and method of brunching very much, as it was a hybrid buffet and order-off-the-menu style. Not mountains of food laid out to slay your blood sugar for the day, but rather, quality, whole food selections to accompany a regular breakfast. Eggs Bennie, wonderful! Not a Mimosa girl, but a nice wine selection and bartenders who are very attentive. We sat at the bar because it was a beautiful space. Personable staff - even down to a runner who was kind enough to get me some Humboldt Fog cheese I wanted. This was not much more expensive than other brunches in large cities, despite it being the Four Seasons. $45 per adult for high quality food and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We came here for oyster happy hour but decided to stay for dinner because the service was so friendly. The seafood menu is great and decent cocktails.

Came in for dinner. Sat at the bar - hostess/greeter was friendly. The 2 male bartenders not so much. Both were transactional, awkwardly standoffish and not very genuine. I ordered a few different drinks (none very memorable), starter, and entree. The burrata was quite nice and rigatoni was good - temp was a little off and not as hot as it should have been. Overall ambiance was nice - live singer on a Friday night was a nice touch. Experience was a let down and not to be expected from an establishment like Four Seasons.

Sunday in December after going to the 5th Ave and seeing The Little Mermaid with lots of grand kids and doting Grandparents, we wanted to go someplace with no kids. The Goldfinch tavern is part of the 4 season hotel down on 2nd Ave. It has a great ambiance with a bar in the center and two dining areas. It has a great view of the water front with the Ferris Wheel and views of the ferries leaving the harbor. It has a nice fireplace area, perfect for having a couple cocktails and enjoying relaxing after a day of shopping or seeing downtown Seattle. There is parking but we parked further east on Union. We loved our meals and drinks. My wife had the dungeness crab cake and salad for about $12 on the happy hour menu. I had the burger and fries for $12 on happy hour which were great. Our server David was fantastic. We have a new favorite place for meeting friends.

Goldfinch Brunch is a standard on our 2-3 times visit to Seattle yearly. This visit met the Goldfinch standard yet again. From fresh oysters and prawns to chowder soups to your choice of main courses - we opted for the steaks... each was done to perfection. Mimosas, warm & gracious service topped up yet another family gathering.

We were celebrating our 41st anniversary with a two week cruise and a one day stay at the Four Seasons in Seattle. The Gold Finch Tavern is inside the hotel. I called ahead and reserved a dinner time. We got a very nice quiet table and got an exceptional waiter. We were unsure of what to order. The waiter listened to our thoughts and recommended the halibut and the pork chop. Without his recommendation I never would have ordered the pork chop. He warned us that the pork chop takes 25 minutes but we went with it. The restaurant manager and the waiter carefully watched the time. Next thing we knew our waiter was bringing us two different appetizers to "try" due to our entrees taking so long. Ten minutes later the restaurant manager and the chef were delivering our meals -wow! Both meals were absolutely perfect. The pork chops were the best that I have ever had. Not only that but the service and attention that we were given was outstanding too. We will return to this hotel and restaurant any time we are in Seattle and recommend that you do too.

This is a great place to grab a drink and look at the view of Puget Sound. The bar has large windows overlooking the water right at the Big Wheel. Comfortable bar stools as well as tables for four. One TV over the bar. Friendly staff and prompt service. We tried a couple of the specialty cocktails on the happy hour menu and they were delicious. Good wines by the glass as well. The happy hour appetizers were great - try the chef's special of the day - usually quite unique and tasty!

We sometimes stop for lunch at Goldfinch when we are in Seattle, the food is reliably good, not amazing, but good. The service is attentive and kind. I generally pay 20% gratuity anyway but find it offensive that this time, the waiter put 20% gratuity on the bill as if it was my obligation o pay and then there was an additional option for a tip on the bill. I understand doing this with a large group but with two people? Since when did it become an obligation to pay a tip? Is this even legal? I left the tip at 20% and didn't give an additional percentage, which also felt weird as the empty space or zero looked like I gave nothing while I already did. Gratuity is an expression of gratitude for a good service. Four Seasons used to be all about the guests. Now, when it is owned by Bill Gates and the Saudi Royals, it seems to be all about money. The furniture in the restaurant is beaten up and way past its prime. It is hard giving this my honest account here as I used to loved Four Seasons. It is upsetting to see the gradual decline of what it used to be the best hotel chain. It is sad to see the legacy slowly fizzling out.

Of course it is. It's OK inside the Four Seasons and is priced accordingly. But we spent $60 on a shared appetizer and two glasses of wine while we were waiting for our room - once. There is so much right outside the hotel's doors it is silly to opt for this spot.

Our server Sarah was so kind and accommodating! We came in late and she seated us at table that wasn’t available just to make sure we got a view. I can’t stress enough how good our service was, we would come back and stay at the hotel just to be treated this well at goldfinch! Thank you Sarah!

I have to say all four of us were excited to dine here as we had gotten several referrals and read the solid reviews. Unfortunately, on this particular night, the food didn't shine although the service and setting were classic 4 Seasons/5 stars. We chose to do the tasting menu on this evening and it was an unconventional tasting menu in that the 1st course included a ton of food for us to share--mostly small plates with many of the ingredients such as tomatoes repeated through several of the dishes. Some of the dishes were good but some were only mediocre. And there was so much food. The second course which was a pasta course with pancetta was solid. The third course was a protein course and the lamb was cooked perfectly. However, the accompanying farro was way too salty. None of us ate the farro but all commented that the lamb was fantastic. The dessert was good albeit nothing memorable. We also had an issue with the wine service. We ordered (among others) a very expensive bottle of wine that many of us had had previously. There was something wrong with the bottle and many of us stopped drinking it. We had the sommelier try some and he agreed 100%. There should have been a credit for this. Instead, we were treated to a "free" glass of mediocre wine (at best). I would have preferred that they do nothing. This was a very expensive meal that needed to be better to warrant anything other than an "average" rating.

Very nice place and a great bar! we stumbled over it looking for a bite after a visit to the Seattle Art Museum. Glad we tried it. Had a dozen oysters, great selection and the ones we had were very fresh and excellent quality. The mignonette and pear ice served with the oysters was fantastic. Good selection of drinks and wine plus outstanding service. Their fries are some of the best I had in a while.

We had mostly drinks. Located in the Four Seasons Hotel, a nice place to sit down, have a cocktail and see the bay.

This is an absolutely beautiful dining room. The design reflects the asian influences to the mid-century aesthetic. The service is absolutely professional. Our waiter made specific, informed recommendations (when we asked). His recommendations were not the higher end on price, but grounded in specific insights. As is often true, the first courses were wonderful. We had crispy octopus and a beet and crab salad. Both were creative and delightful. A very nice evening.

Nine of us, including two young children, enjoyed a lovely meal at Goldfinch Tavern. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious and serene. Our food server was exemplary! She was attentive to everyone at the table. The food we ordered was novel, delicious and portions were generous. There were several choices for the children as well. The cocktail and wine list was great as well. I would happily return to this restaurant again!

We LOVE, love, love Ethan Stowell establishments, so we make sure we give them a chance to open before we judge them. So, after my third visit to Goldfinch Tavern, I'm ready to share my opinion, because my experience has been consistent. The first time we stopped by it took them 40 mins to pull up a bottle of Kettle One from the basement and make my mom a martini. The second time, our waiter quit on us mid-service, but said he's transfer the check. We got such little attention from him before he left that we were still waiting for drinks before the next server took over (he was so apologetic and really made every effort to correct his colleagues mistake). The last time, everything went smoothly, but we only ordered cocktails. So, the service needs some work, but they have DELICIOUS beef tartare (huge portion), and the scallops were / are tasty. Just don't go expecting the service you'd get at other ES locations. I do, however, continue to love allllll his other restaurants in Seattle!

This is a great place for a relaxed evening .Low lighting peaceful surroundings and superior service.we tried the fried olives !!Who knew, they were delicious.

Since prices were so high, I figured the food would be exceptional. Turns out it was not as expected. I had the pan seared chicken. All the plate came with was chicken on a bed of arugula. The chicken tasted like it was almost burnt. I chocked it down as I was hungry and just know I won’t be returning.

The food was not what I expected, too pricey for it’s own good. It’s the Four Seasons, come on. Customer service was on point but with subpar food, there’s no way I’m coming back anytime soon unless I want some Fran’s chocolate....

Check in late, too tired to go out for dinner ,the front desk staff told us if we like seafood ,try the Goldfinch Tavern , so ,we did ! very impressed .atmosphere is very modern and upscale ,very expensive , staff is very knowledgeable about the wine ,well done ! after so many seafood dinner ,I am looking forward for a nice juices steak ,we order the Seafood Tower for two ,and share the Rib eye steak , a great choice ,the seafood is so fresh and impressed ,,and the steak is A 1 , and our wine glass never empty , Excellent

I had just left the Seattle Art Museum and it was raining again. Before I ubered back, I needed to regroup. It was after lunch but the offered a same bar menu. I sat by the window with a delish Irish Coffee and watched the storm blow through. Great view!

I had previously written a review of this restaurant when I had a bad service experience. We decided to give it another try for Valentine's Day and I'm so glad we did. First, service was excellent. Our server, Massimo, was delightful and very helpful. The food was also excellent. There was a prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day and every course was good. The pasta at Ethan Stowell restaurants cannot be beat - it was perfectly al dente and we really enjoyed it as well as the many other bites we sampled that evening. I would absolutely return for another tasting menu here.

We recently stayed at The Four Seasons for a few days, and were excited to try the restaurant because everything else had been exceptional. We were dissapointed to say the least. Our waitress was sticky sweet, which came across as upity and insincere. We went for lunch and each ordered the crab cakes and my friend had a glass of wine. The meal was small, dry and flavorless. The “Wedge Salad” that came with it was literally a small chunk of lettuce with 3 or 4 bacon bits... no dressing of any kind. All this for the low price of $80! Like many others, I dont mind paying more if the meal was worth it (we had already dined at The Pink Door & Metropolital Grill which ran about $250 each for the two of us... and worth every penny!). Goldfinch was the only dissapointing aspect of our trip. They can do much better.

The Goldfinch Tavern was a perfect choice for a night out. Located near the bustling Pike Market, this is a classy and quiet respite. Every item served was perfect, of note were the oysters that were so fresh and plump served so artfully. Incredible bites of the sea! Speaking of seafood, the ricotta ravioli with lobster & citrus is a brilliant pairing, savored every bit! Great date night option, but note-the small bar looks perfect for that night out alone too.

This restaurant is excellent, and I highly recommend doing the chef's menu where all choices are made for you. It makes for a wonderful way to spend the evening, and each and every course was delicious. Service was also stellar, and the bar is lively as well. Highly recommend!

Popped in for a glass of sparkling and to get acculturated to being in Seattle (after having flown some 16 hours from Asia). Stylish service in a lovely ambience and no better way to plan a weeks holiday ahead of us. Washington State sparkling was very reasonably priced. Complimentary cashew/almond bowl a tasty accompaniment... All in all, a lovely afternoon treat.

We went to the Goldfinch Tavern to listen to Enrique play Spanish guitar the in the bar. The music was lovely but the rest of the experience was less than positive. The property itself has a nice ambiance but the seating was not the best for a musical performer. We ordered some wine (at a 6 X markup) which seemed really excessive to me. We also ordered some food. My wife's burger was OK but my Nero seafood pasta was horrible. The pasta was so underdone it was like chewing on a wet cardboard box. The flavor was similar to cardboard too. Our server, Emma, was very attentive and I requested that the dish be returned to the kitchen and the chef be notified. Emma let me know that the chef agreed with my assessment that the pasta was underdone and they would "fix" the dish. When the pasta was returned to the table it was a little bit more cooked in the center but around the edges it was still really chewy. This dish was billed as a seafood dish with prawns and mussels. There were three small pieces of what looked like langostino but NOTHING else. And the price was $29! I rarely write negative reviews but the Goldfinch warranted this effort based on my experience. There are so many good restaurants in the Pike Place Market area of downtown - I would find an alternative to the Goldfinch Tavern.

From the breakfast, brunch and in-room dining, this is a great restaurant. In room dining offers a fried chicken, biscuits and apple slaw this is OUT OF THIS WORLD

I went to Goldfinch having not been here before and had some of the best crab cakes I had ever tasted ! They were light and flavorful with I would say a perfect balance of salad & sauce. They had a pleasant and nice atmosphere and views inside the 4 Seasons Hotel. The service was very good and our waiter was attentive and I would definitely come back here.

We ate at the Sunday brunch...the set-up is quite wonderful. There is a limited buffet of high-end starters (oysters, shrimp, cheese, fruit, soups, smoked salmon wraps), then you select an entree from the menu, followed by another visit to the buffet, this time to the dessert side. The food was uniformly delicious and inspired. A smoked salmon wrap (lox and bagels without the bagel) was ingenious and delicious; butternut squash soup was an interesting take on this seasonal dish. The crab cake entree was light and tasty; the steak was huge with a generous portion of upscale sauteed mushrooms. And the offerings on the dessert buffet were tiny portions of delicious favorites (the chocolate cake...well, we would gladly have scarfed down several more if we had had the room). And the fixed price menu comes with bottomless mimosas that are barely skimmed with OJ...very generous with the sparkling stuff. The service was terrible...we were constantly asking for things. We requested more water, a steak knife, refills on our drinks, dirty dish removal (several times), sweeetener for our coffee. And the buffet needed replenishing every time we visited. But the worst part of the service was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. I usually tip 20% for good service...this was not good service, and especially jarring in a Four Seasons hotel.

We dined at the Goldfinch for lunch and found it to be a delightful place to spend a few hours on a rainy Seattle day. It does have a tavern type motif that was comfortable and beautifully done. We found the service to be attentive and the food was excellent. The tuna tartare, Dungeness crab cakes, and apricot (believe it or not) bruschetta were all delicious and fresh. Definitely hit the spot!

I do not think this restaurant is worthy of a four seasons hotel. Christmas dinner had a buffet appetizer table which was equivalent to a golden coral. EDntree was good but way overpriced and the desert buffet was eqwuivalent to a safeway bakery. Way overpriced for what we received. They need a new chef.

The breakfast at the Goldfinch Tavern lived up to the recommendation we had received. We were seated by a window and enjoyed the Crab Benedict with a generous serving of fresh Dungeness crab, slices of avocado and perfectly poached eggs. The breakfast potatoes were excellent, but more than we could finish. Relaxing and delicious.

Went to Goldfinch for dinner and for breakfast. Dinner was good but actually didn't live up to expectations based on the beautiful web site. At dinner, no particular problems -- food and service were good, just not particularly memorable as might be expected. Breakfast was a bit disappointing -- limited menu and variety, small portions.

Fancy restaurant inside the Four Seasons hotel in downtown Seattle, very close to the Market. The atmosphere is nice, waiters are kind and food is good, but not exceptional. Service is too slow. Prices are on the high side.

Given its location in the Four Seasons and in a city filled with really great eating options, the Goldfinch Tavern was surprisingly average. Smallish portions, prettily presented but in a clatter filled restaurant with no table cloth and an ambiance closer to The Keg than Canlis -- our meal was OK but nothing earth shattering. The service was good. I'd go again, on an expense account. Otherwise, there are options in Seattle that offer more interesting fare for less.

We had heard good reviews from friends, so decided to try it. We were very pleased. The seafood appetizers were excellent. Fresh and flavorful. I ordered the traditional Eggs Benedict, which was really only a half, but was perfect with all of the appetizers. My husband ordered the small steak, he said it was very flavorful but also stringy and tough. My daughter ordered the scrambled eggs, she said they were very good. Overall we were very pleased and will definitely go back

Located in the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel, Goldfinch overlooks Seattle harbor. The food was great and the service too.

Invited by locals who knew the place. Nice welcoming doorway and atrium. Modern decor. Sat in table near kitchen but weren't bothered by kitchen noise. At peak, room was loud overall. Came after dark and was raining, so didn't get full view of Puget Sound but could see lights across the water. Service was good for 95%, server disappeared for long stretch as we were ready to leave. Enjoyed the seared salmon. Close to waterfront attractions. Solid wine menu.

This restaurant is situated opposite the lobby of the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle. We and another couple came here during Restaurant Week and we were not disappointed! What a delightful evening and absolutely delicious food! The setting is beautiful, with a glimpse of the waterfront. We sampled the corn chowder and the half shell oysters as appetizers and then enjoyed our entrees: the herb crusted pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked, so moist and tender; the crispy duck leg was delicious. We loved every rich bite of the dark chocolate cake and pumpkin cheesecake. Everything was so satisfying.

Goldfinch's ambiance, food, and service is outstanding. You especially can't beat the view of the waterfront! The restaurant is great for catching up with old friends, a romantic night out, and or for an upper casual dinning experience. Goldfinch has a fabulous and the food is superbly prepared. If you're looking for a great food and a night out, definitely considered dinning at Goldfinch.

The Seattle "underground" newspaper, the STRANGER had an article citing the top three rum toddy drinks at bars in Seattle, and listed the Goldfinch Bar as having one of them, and touted the warmth of drinking it by their fireplace overlooking the Puget Sound. I went at 3PM and was disappointed to see the large window shades drawn, since the sun was setting and blasting into the windows. Not the restaurant's fault though. There was no "fireplace", but in the center of the lounge area was a gas "fireplace", but really more a number of large candles lined up. My bartender seemed unenthusiastic and unfamiliar about my request for a hot rum toddy, until I showed him the newspaper article. It arrived and was good, but definitely not worth $25.00, which includes a mandatory 20% service charge. But then again, the bar is located in the Four Seasons Hotel, and is a popular meeting point for businessmen. The bartender offered me snacks, which I declined and I was disappointed to see a very vegan UNFRIENDLY menu. In the fine print, it did say "vegan options available upon request", which I hate seeing because nobody should have to ask for a special menu...it makes vegans embarrassed and also treats vegans like pariahs.

The place was buzzing with holiday cheer. The solo classical guitar player was a nice touch but he was hidden and needed more amplification Pros: The Black Manhattan cocktail was unique in its flavors. We each enjoyed them. The location is excellent with its expansive view out to Puget Sound Cons: Because we were ther for happy hour, they seemed uninterested in serving us. The oyster appetizer was fair at best. A lot of bun, little oyster.

Experienced and friendly bar tenders, highly innovative cocktails. We loved having our night cap at this place. Cherry on the top of the excellent hotel stay.

I have eaten 4 different times at the Goldfinch Tavern - no complaints! Great service, great food, wonderful atmosphere! Not a noisy hotel restaraunt!

We were there for Easter brunch. The freshness of the ingredients (and the oysters, salmon and salads were indeed fresh and delicious) were more important to this meal than was their cooking. My rating, therefore, is based more on the kitchen's ability to source good ingredients than on its skill at preparing them. When it comes to preparation, desserts were standouts -- kudos to the pastry chef. The clam chowder, however was merely okay, and the crab cake fell far short of the blue crab crab cakes you can readily find in Maryland, Virginia and the Carolinas. Maybe I'm just an East coast snob. But the price! The meal with one drink apiece with tax and tip set us back over $100 per person. To put this in perspective, my wife and I also enjoyed breakfast (okay, breakfast and not brunch) in the restaurant of another fine Seattle hotel on this trip. That breakfast set us back only $70 per person, and for that price they threw in a hotel room.

We arrived in Seattle on a wet Saturday night. Our hotel didn't have any room in their restaurant, but the concierge recommended this place. The food was OK (nothing desperately exciting) but the prices were way over the top.

Festive, busy and good for people watching . A decent selection of food, snacks and desserts plus lots of choices for wine, cocktails, etc. They have a happy hour.

This place is in the Four Seasons across from the Art Museum. The host and serving staff are very friendly and service oriented. You feel pampered. The food is real good too, very northwesty. This could become one of our go to spots in downtown Seattle. The happy burger looked like the bomb.

This is one of our go-to spots after a day of walking around downtown. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we like to come for a late afternoon taste and a drink. Both the Hamachi Crudo and the Beet & Dungeness Crabs Salad are the perfect afternoon treat---light, yet very flavorful. In addition, we always go with the Local Artisan Cheeses--the infused honey is divine. In the winter, if you visit in the late afternoon, you will get to take in the sunset---as the floor to ceiling windows provide a gorgeous view of the water. Check out my photos for more details.

If you are looking for an upscale, intimate dining experience near Pike Place Market, Goldfinch is a great option. The best thing about it is the valet parking at the hotel :) Nice menu and great view. Make a reservation!

Came by for a local beer and happy hour. Oysters were good bit took a while to get out of the kitchen.

We dined at Goldfinch Tavern twice in December 2019 when we stayed at the Four Seasons hotel. Great food and service. Today we had mediocre food and acceptable service. Such a disappointment that this restaurant was unable to reopen with its previous quality. Let’s hope for improvement in the coming months, but for now it’s not worth the price to dine here.

Breakfast cooked exactly the way you would like. Quick and efficient, with the best gluten free toast (no small accomplishment) and the most delicious breakfast potatoes (crispy on the outside, warm and creamy on the inside). Dinner was equally wonderful. This is not your standard "hotel" restaurant. You will actually want to dine here as a destination.

I loved this bar. I dined here for pre-dinner hors dourves and cocktails as well as breakfast the next day. Both were amazing. I dined solo each time. I sat at the bar for a good while during the cocktail hour the night of my arrival. In general I'm always suspect of hotel restaurants, so often they are mediocre, and capitalizing on a captive audience. Goldfinch is a rare exception. It is a destination unto itself. I started with a cocktail to decide how I wanted to proceed. The barmen are true professionals. I had a boulevardier, a drink I often order just to gauge how well trained the staff is. It's a classic cocktail, but not as well known. The bartender made it perfectly, and suggested a few Rye Whiskeys before he started to make sure he tailored it to my preferences. I decided on oysters as I saw several others with a beautiful presentation of oysters and it is Seattle. When I asked what they had on offer the bartender had a full list, and he walked me through the flavor profile and description of each. His recommendations were spot on, and the oysters were shockingly fresh. They arrived with a flourish, complete with a tasty mignonette sauce, lemons, and a ginger shaved ice palette cleanser--nice touch. Goldfinch offers very nice champagnes by the glass, including Vueve and Moet, it was a pleasure to indulge. I have to say, eating oysters and drinking champagne at the Four Seasons is a guilty pleasure, but one I highly recommend. The next morning I also dined here for breakfast. They have a nice broad selection of classics, omelettes, benedicts, etc. They have a nice smoothie menu as well. I indulged in lemon ricotta pancakes with fruit compote and a sweet whipped cream that had something decadent involved, not sure what it was, but it made my eyes roll back it was so delicious. Morning service was attentive, in spite of the fact it was 6:30 in the morning, and the coffee was amazing. Which, it is Seattle, I expected it to be good. It was from a local roaster, and was dark and rich, and the perfect complement to my sweet breakfast choice.

Hi, we dined at Goldfinch while staying at the Four Seasons. The breakfasts we had were excellent, my favorite is the Acai Bowl which I highly recommend - it is a few scoops of frozen acai with fruit and nuts. Service is great and the restaurant has great views. We also had dinner her our first night because we arrived in Seattle late and thought the dinner was excellent also. We had a burger and salmon, both cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable for restaurant inside the Four Seasons. Service was great, highly recommend.

After a long city walk, end up at The Four Seasons, was planned to see the hotel while the receptionist asked me to contact Sales & Marketing Team~~~ seems FO don't do hotel tour, either they've been trained not to handle walk in guests as they are no responsible for revenue, also those walk ins not counts for Guest Satisfaction survey, so, no need to show hospitality~~ Drink is nice and also bartenders are friendly~~~ worthy spent a evening there to watch sun down experience~

This is a really really nice restaurant, to begin with. The Easter Brunch was amazing! Appetizers were on a buffet, as were the desserts. Your main entree is ordered off the menu; I had Prime Rib and my wife had the Pork Chop. The food was spectatcular, as were the drinks. There are so many great items on each buffet it was hard to keep from going back many times! The service was excellent, and all staff members we spoke to were accomadating and warm. Price wise, this was a bit of a splurge, but well worth it!

We were celebrating a birthday with friends and decided to have dinner at Goldfinch Tavern. We had a great window seat overlooking the waterfront. We opted to try the Chef's Choice menu which included 5 courses. This menu changes daily so you don't know what you'll be getting. From the first course to dessert, everything was amazing! Wonderful presentation and flavor. The chef came out with three of the courses and explained the dish and how it was prepared. The $75 per person price was well worth it! Our server, Tony was also great. We dined for several hours and never felt rushed. We will definitely return to Goldfinch.

Had a really nice experience at Goldfinch Tavern! The food is solid — fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. Loved the seafood and seasonal dishes, everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The vibe is relaxed but still a bit fancy, with great views that make it feel special without being stuffy. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices are a little on the higher side, but overall a great spot for a nice meal downtown. Would definitely go back!

Normally I don't eat at hotel restaurants as they are more about convenience than quality but the Goldfinch is an exception. Arriving late and being tired from the travel, I wanted something lighter than a full meal so I tried the cheese burger. Seldom have I seen a specific brand of cheese noted, but when I saw Beecher's cheese, this was a must. I have eaten many burgers over the years and this has to be one of the best ever. The service was excellent. I will definitely return when I stay again at the Four Seasons.

In December 2017 I had breakfast at Goldfinch with a friend. The restaurant was recommended by someone I trust. Although the food was good, the service was appallingly poor. I mentioned this at the front desk as I left and I found the hosts both very uninterested in my feedback. So, imagine my concern when a friend recently suggested it for a dinner. Not only did I enjoy some of the best seafood I have had in a long time, we also had amazing service from Ryan. He was completely attentive, made excellent suggestions regarding food and wine choices, and won me over. Because of Ryan's great service I will be back again and again!

Check I to the four seasons hotel a little early and my room wasn’t quite ready. I walked over to meet a friend here in the Goldfinch Tavern. My friend immediately recommended the Applewood Smoked Manhattan. Wow was that a great recommendation. When she brings it out it has a class cap that is filled with smoke. As she raises it off of the drink the smoke rolls out of the glass with such an unbelievable smell. I just wish I could upload a video. Oh not to mention the incredible taste of the drink itself. Also ordered the burger which was full of flavor but unfortunately the drink was the hit of the visit. Service was excellent as you would expect at a place of this caliber. Highly recommend

Great ambiance, a glass of port and a slice of chocolate cake on a late Saturday night. The chocolate cake was only ok - nothing amazing about it.

We shared several dishes, starting with the crudo, which had a nice balance of fish, citrus, and heat. The hamburger was well-flavored and well-balanced. The dill seasoning on the fries was unexpectedly good. The Croque Madame was also well balanced, with a light sauce, tasty cheese, and a lot of ham.

Although located in the Four Seasons Hotel, this restaurant delivers the experience of a fine quality, independent restaurant. Service is fast and professional, the menu is long on fresh, high quality, locally-sourced products, and they do everything to provide comfort, excellence and a true, fine dining experience.

Food was average and service poor. Wait staff chose ti chat with one group of customers rather than serve the rest of us. I’d avoid as it’s not cheap. And they stick 20% service charge on. If I hadn’t been in a rush and already kept waiting 20 minutes to pay Id have demanded that they take that off.

I was at the Goldfinch last week and my waiters Barry and Jalen could not have been kinder. They were exceptionally attentive to our needs. They made great recommendations for food and wine and kept checking in to make sure that we ok during our 3.5 hour dinner. Will be back every time that I am in Seattle.

We came here for lunch with a couple co-workers and some friends. The menu is nice - not huge - but has good quality offerings. The plates, bowls, platters, and things that the food was served in was very nice - it made the presentation really good. I had a chicken BLTA and it was excellent. My friend is vegan, and they made her a great quinoa salad that she LOVED. (there is a note on the menu that says they have Vegan options and ask the waiter). another friend had the seafood chowder and he highly recommended it. It's in the Four Seasons hotel so it is a little spendy for a regular lunch, but I felt like the quality of the food we got was excellent as well. Our server was competent and could answer all of our questions.

All dishes I tried were delicious, so were the drinks. Service was friendly and very attentive. The place is near Pike Market in the Four Seasons and thus easy to find. Views are wonderful around sunset, too. Only unfortunate part of the evening: Just because some people have $$$ does not mean they know how to behave in a nice restaurant. Bummer... Suggestion when booking: Ask for a table away from the bar area.

Came in 3 times while in Seattle. Nice happy hour, but even better weekend brunches. Small but fresh buffet of poke, fresh shucked oysters, chowders, and, later, desserts (only thing that could use some improvement). Entrees are ordered at the table, with a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. Service was outstanding - thanks Frankie! Nice birthday touches without going overboard. Overall, great food and service in setting with a view AND a fireplace!

I chose to eat here my last day in Seattle. I made reservations so I was promptly seated. Although dining was indoors, plastic partitions were placed between the booths. Tables were socially distanced. My server was excellent. I loved the food. The food was beautifully presented. I had the clam chowder, lobster mashed potatoes and halibut. All were delicious. I just didn’t have room for dessert.

Went during Seattle restaurant week. It was a wonderful dinner. We will definitely return. I had pork tenderloin and my husband had beef shortrib. Both were cooked perfectly, as were the side dishes.

Perfect service; excellent menu and kitchen. After spending a week in the Pacific Northwest eating king salmon, brunch at the hotel restaurant had the very best king salmon of all the places that i visited on my trip!

My wife and I came her for our 5 year anniversary. The food and service were incredible. We had a wonderful experience. Our server, Michelle, was so on top of everything, and the food was prepared perfectly. This was not our first time there, and it won't be our last.

We showed up before the breakfast buffet so I cannot comment on that. However, our breakfast was simply amazing. The lemon ricotta pancakes with fruit compote is out of this world and the fresh-squeezed orange juice is like drinking delicious liquid oranges. We also had the eggs Benedict, which was quite good. Our waiter was excellent. Located in the Four Seasons Hotel, it is in a lovely setting. It’s not inexpensive but every bit worth the extra you spend on breakfast.

This was a lovely restaurant. We all enjoyed our dinners. Although looking back the food was really good but nothing was memorable. Our server was very professional and attentive. The restaurant was really pretty and well designed.

Don't let the "tavern" part of the name fool you, this is a fancy restaurant with a fancy price to match. The food and service were excellent, but not as special as the prices would lead you to expect. We paid $150 for each couple (they automatically include 20% gratuity).

Overall great food and everyone in our party enjoyed it. The service was great. It is pricey but what do you expect in a Four Seasons resturant?

Enjoyed two fantastic dinners here on a recent business trip to Seattle. The food, wine selection, and service were flawless. My food was perfectly prepared to my liking. Though I did not try it, the "Trust the Chef" tasting menu looked innovative and amazing. Make reservations in advance and do not miss! Try the salad with goat cheese and pear.

My wife and I went for an anniversary dinner before a concert at Benaroya and had a really wonderful experience. We had the kind of warm, personalized service you don’t expect at a fancy hotel, at the same time incredibly professional. The maitre D’ William was amazing and our waiter Johnny couldn’t have been more attentive. On top of that all the food was terrific. It couldn’t have been a nicer evening

Met up for breakfast here. The staff were very friendly and kept the coffee flowing. I ordered an omelette made to order and it was great. The restaurant was quiet, perfect for a business meeting. Being that its in the Four Seasons shows that it's a little pricey.

The hotel is beautiful and we decided to have dinner at the goldfinch tavern It was our last evening and we wanted to relax and enjoy the evening I will tell you that the hostess was wonderful and the gentlemen behind the bar...the older gentlemen than the other 2 that were there present on Sunday evening of the 26th of August . He was excellent . We had reservations for dinner and we were seated with Joseph I am not sure whether it was an off day , but his customer service skills were lacking Joseph - did not offer the specials or the bread - he made it like it was a charge for the bread and butter . I am not sure if that was to pad his bill or what .... Joseph gave the appearance of a nice young man but lacked the elegance to be at the four seasons I would expect more for the staff for dinner In fact - I felt like I was eating at a down home restaurant and NOT at the four seasons I am sure he is a great young man and deserve a second chance. But please make sure he his given an additional lesson on etiquette and make sure he is able to provide the level of service of the four seasons The chicken dish was delicious - it was the service that was lacking Thank you

We were staying at the Four Seasons for a night or two before going on our first cruise to Alaska. We had lunch one day and a glass of wine one day after a tour. Service was excellent and food was good. Guess I understand the 20% automatic tip for food because it's a hotel restaurant but it rubbed me the wrong way when they have a 20% automatic tip for a drink. Just haven't experienced that before.

For seafood stew, cioppino or whatever else you've ever eaten like this, this is the best ever. So delicious, full of seafood, perfectly seasoned, rich tomato sauce, served with Grand Central bread. This is a very high-end restaurant - not a tavern and certainly not tavern prices. Service is friendly and spot on. We came for early lunch before the Wyeth exhibit, just across the street. Only downside was not too welcoming hostess and funky that we did not have reservations but she took down our name before seating us.

In the lobby of the four Seasons, this is an upscale steak and seafood place. food is creative and flavorful. Prices are mid to upper range. Good views of the harbor. I thought the kitchen was slow on a Friday night--the server agreed and apologized. Then the next day, service at pool was slow (same kitchen), so I wonder if this is a staffing issue. I'g come back but just be aware, the seats are wood and you may be sitting a while.

First, let me say the service was outstanding. Everything you would expect at at Four Seasons. But, that's kind of where it all ended for me in terms of satisfaction. I ordered one of their "signature" cocktails--the "Unusual Margarita." It tasted like I was sipping on jalapeno vinegar. They brought me something else, cheerfully, but I"m still trying to figure out who put that drink on the menu in the first place. King crab salad was good, but not worth $21. Beef tenderloin I ordered medium rare was definitely rare, and it lacked seasoning. Desserts were TINY in terms of portion size, especially for the price. It was just not a GREAT experience, and at those prices, it should have been GREAT.

Came here for brunch. Had the buffet with a hot option and unlimited mimosa's. Crab cake was delicious. .cold buffet had everything you could possibly want and more. Great view of the waterfront and Ferris wheel. Ambiance and style of restaurant was great and staff friendly and attentive. Fabulous service as you would expect from The Four Seasons.

The Goldfinch Tavern is a lovely place to have a drink or a meal. The decor is very modern and quite attractive, making this a pleasant place to sit and chat. We were very impressed with the attentive waitstaff who seemed always available to answer a question or refill a drink. The food and drink menus were first-rate, with a wide selection that should satisfy any palate. An excellent selection of wines and beers, along with some interesting mixed drinks. The dinner menu offered many fine choices; we enjoyed the crab salad, prawn pasta and halibut. A nearby table ordered pork chops and strip steak, both of which also looked delicious. Just realize that all this comes at a fairly steep price, particularly the drinks. The pasta was $30 and the halibut $40.

The hashbrowns are to die for!! The freshly squeezed grapefruit juice was exceptional, also. The food was expensive but my mouth still waters every time I think about those hashbrowns. The service was great.

Perhaps because it was lunch, but our visit was underwhelming. Oysters were meh (did not even, apparently, warrant mention of what kind they were...). The halibut was WAY overcooked, which takes some serious lack of care and/or cooking skill, given how thick it was. Goldfinch chowder was thick, gloppy and essentially tasteless, rather than creamy and flavorful as one might reasonably expect. Cannot recommend this place, not to anyone.

I came here with girlfriends for brunch before checking out the YSL exhibit at Seattle Art Museum. I love the location and the warm wood decor of the restaurant. The prices were downtown standard for brunch. I enjoyed the American breakfast with egg whites, English muffin, potatoes and chicken apple sausage. We shared and order of the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were amazing. Recommend this for brunch.

Goldfinch is one of our favorite places to dine for special occasions. Four friends gathered to celebrate a new job for one of our group. Our table was ready when arrived, and we were immediately met with menus and water, then promptly asked for drink orders. The drinks arrived quickly and our server was very friendly, professional and efficient. Appetizers were ordered and served in a timely fashion; the crostini with goat cheese and cherries and the crab toast. Both very flavorful and the crab very fresh. Entrees included the lamb shank, ravioli and steak, all perfectly prepared and presented. Dessert was the huckleberry lemon custard (wonderful) and the three scoops of ice cream (ok but not as creamy and smooth as it should have been), but still flavorful. Good wine list by the glass and bottle, though a bit short on value priced labels. All in all, again a great night to celebrate and a great experience.

I have been here twice. The second time, last week I sampled a far greater set of dishes. All of which were delicious and seasoned perfectly. The appetizers, fried olives, local cheeses. beet salad, green salad were excellent. I had scallops perfectly cooked. The wines were perfect. I wished I wished I had gotten the names of the wines we had! Definitely recommend the tavern and I will definitely return!

Went for breakfast and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and was very amiable and cordial. Ordered the eggs Benedict and the food was absolutely one of the best eggs Benedict I've ever eaten. The ham was tasty and the eggs cooked perfectly. The friendliness and engaging bartender I believe actually made the food taste better. With a Yankees win the night before and a scrumptious breakfast it was a fantastic start of the day. I won't hesitate returning to this establishment.

Came here for an early dinner at 5pm when the Seattle Art Museum closed (which is across the street). This would be a good place to bring out of town guests, especially if you can get a window table. Both the menu and wine selections are a cut above what you might expect from a hotel restaurant. Perhaps this is called a "tavern" because it's associated with travelers' lodging, but it's not at all in the vein of a pub or local's bar. Here, it's dark wood, brass and carpeting. The happy hour food menu offers both snacks and small plates. It was a tough choice between that and the dinner menu which was also available at our 5pm seating. (Although I had to ask for the happy hour menu). With our wine, we had warmed baguette with salted butter and olives. My entree was the halibut with a side dish of morsel mushrooms. My companion had the Goldfinch burger. The halibut was a thick slab, perfectly cooked, served with roasted, buttery fennel and english peas. The slight anise flavor of the fennel was a pleasant accompaniment to the fish. The morsels were sauteed and served with quartered mini-turnips ... this was a great combination. The only drawback was the excessive butter (or oil?) ... it seemed as though the mushrooms did not have to be cooked so long. The Goldfinch burger came with carmelized onion marmalade. In my opinion, the marmalade made it "more than a burger". The burger came with dill fries. In the 90 minutes we were there, 3 different servers brought food or drinks or refilled water or removed plates. It appeared there was a service team, rather than just one server per table.

we had the beet salad which was good, but the other entrees were actually bland. drinks were excellent and service was jus so-so. we were execting more/better fr a restaurant in the 4 season's

Together with my wife and two kids we have spent the New Years here. Great atmosphere, amazing food, spectacular wine list, and the view, just perfect!

Food is great. I am gluten intolerant and they went our of their way to accommodate my needs. View is beautiful

My wife and I went here for dinner after a show at Benaroya Hall. We went specifically because it was Seattle's annual Restaurant Week...three or four course dinners in a number of area restaurants for $33 a person. We had no reservations and the dining room was completely booked. But in spite of the seriously formal attitude and confusing information provided by the evening's hostess (The Bad), we managed to be seated (thanks to a very alert server) at the bar where it's open seating...first come, first served. That ended up being an unplanned, but very fortunate move, as our bartenders, Uihan and Chris were both attentive and very entertaining, though opposites (The Good). Uihan with the deep and calming "radio voice" was very mellow and deliberate. Chris, who arrived a bit later was more frenetic, moved quickly and was most amusing. And the guy is a double for Vince Gill! Their service was great and they were happy to talk with us as time and business allowed. As for the food, for appetizers my wife picked the Creamy Leek Soup with Dungeness crab toast & thyme. I had the Half Shell Pacific Oysters with lemon, green garlic mignonette. My wife thought the soup was good, but lacked sufficient leek flavor and I think she preferred the little crab topped toast. My oysters were very good-sized and meaty though the mignonette was pretty ordinary. And recommended by friends, we also added a grilled octopus appetizer ($17.00) that was wonderful. We washed the appys down with the unusual and flavorful American Goldfinch Martinis ($13 each). For dinner, we stuck with fish. Wife had the Seared Halibut with herb creme fraiche, new potatoes and watercress; I had the Grilled Albacore with apricot mustard and spring vegetables. Both were exquisitely prepared and delicious. My only complaint: while I despise overcooked veggies, mine were left a little too raw and crunchy for my taste. With dinner we each had a glass of very simple WA State Pinot Gris ($9 each). Finally, for dessert we both ordered the Chocolate Toffee Cheesecake, which was quite yummy and very filling. Now the ugly: while it's my fault for not immediately noticing...a 20% tip is added to the bill automatically...something I resent. Consequently I added my own 20% tip before realizing the tip had already been included. My wife and I keep telling ourselves that our two bartender buddies earned that BIG tip...and we'll leave it at that. But be forewarned: check the bill before adding any tip!!! We ended up spending nearly $200 for $33 a person Restaurant Week! Likely won't return unless I win the lottery!

This is the lobby restaurant and bar in the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. If you are on a trip or heading out for a date stop here. We have been here many times and keep coming back for the view, service, food, and drinks. We have had lunch, dinner, afternoon cocktails, and evening cocktails here. They are always excellent. The view looks out at the Sound and the Seattle Wheel. Prices are amazingly affordable considering it is in the Four Seasons. If you are walking around Seattle stop into this hidden gem.

We had a lovely family dinner. The waitress was accommodating to a 7 and 4 year old. They brought crayons and a colorable menu, and took their order right away. The adults enjoyed a round of cocktails and apps, followed by mains. Highly recommend the heirloom tomato salad, the tagliatelle and the king salmon. Dessert included made in house ice cream - the peanut butter cup was our favorite. Good spot for a family dinner.

Overpriced, especially on French bread for $6.00 which is complimentary at most restaurants in Seattle and Pelligrino $9.00 for a bottle which is sold at $2.00 at Target around the corner ??? ?To top it all 20 percent service fee which was added to my bill.Having been a server I have always been generous in my tipping but this time I RESENT the fact that it was added to my bill without prior notification. When I told server that we were charged $6.00 for a tiny loaf of French bread he did comply and removed it from my bill however " the manager" on duty HAD to be summoned in order to remove the exorbitant fee of $9.00 for a large bottle of Pelligrino! To add insult to injury the staff member who had taken my daughter's credit card as a guarantee for the tab,CHARGED HER CARD WHEN I SPECIFICALLY TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD USE MY DEBIT CARD TO PAY which I did .What happened here at this establishment ?The manager mentioned in passing that this place had pretty competitive prices like other hotel restaurants in the vicinity??? Humm! RIP OFF!!!! LET'S say I'm willing to pay for great food and excellent service WHICH IS NOT in this sad case because our evening was a TOTAL BUST !So NEVER AGAIN! The hamburger and oyster slider ordinary. The black truffle with house made pasta had more parody and other flavors than any hint of truffle???

My lifelong friend (we were literally next door neighbors growing up from kindergarten on through high school) was having stomach surgery in a couple of days, so we went to the Goldfinch Tavern for a bit of a "last supper", as it will be months before she will be able to eat normally again. Did we make the right decision? Oh, my, yes. We slipped in at 5:50pm - happy hour ends at 6pm - but the waiter enthusiastically brought the happy hour menu, so we could at least order our appetizers from the very reasonably-priced HH menu. We went with the crispy crabcake and the skewers, and both were perfection. We especially raved about the beef skewer - butter knife tender and as delicious as steak can be. For dinner itself, my friend had the lamb osso buco and I had the pasta pappardelle with mushroom medley, and we split a side of fried brussels sprouts in a bacon vinagrette, which were divine. My friend's lamb was perfectly cooked, and the mushroom medley of shitake, portobello, porcini and enoki mushrooms atop the fresh house pasta was heavenly. Topping off the meal was a perfect single scoop of peppermint mocha ice cream, which we shared. We spent about $60 each with beverages, which really wasn't ludicrous for the quality of the food and the perfect service. Also, the views are spectacular, and even us jaded Seattle natives noticed what nice vistas were out the full wall of windows on the Puget Sound side. The ferris wheel and the waterfront with West Seattle and the Olympics in the background make for excellent selfies, whether you were born here, or are just here for the dental convention...

Dungeness crab benedict was unbelievable. So was the Washington apple-fritter French toast. Really nice people there, too, of course (as all people from Seattle are).

Top notch Chef Tasting with Wine Pairing delivered by the chef himself. All I can say is wow! Great way to entertain friends and co-workers.

We had brunch there this past weekend. The food and service was terrific. A lot of choices. Great atmosphere and view. Pricey but expected since it is in the Four Seasons.

I always like to check out the Four Seasons dining options when I have the chance. I wasn’t sure if non guests could dine here so I was a bit uncertain when I came in. The hostess and host could not have been more gracious. They seated me quickly at a table with an outstanding view. I ordered the Dungeness Salad and the Goldfinch Chowder. The salad was more crab than salad but still tasty. The soup came luke warm at first snd when I asked if they could re-heat it, the servers were so great in saying they would have them cook me another one and make it super hot. I indicated that microwaving it would be perfect and one server smiled snd said they would get me a fresh soup. For a Four Seasons, the area was not as clean as I might have expected. However, the service and tasty light lunch were worth the stop!

We love to come here for a late lunch after a morning of walking around downtown--that way we always seem to get a table next to the window so that we can take in the view. My wife has two favorites--Beet & Crab Salad and the Hamachi Crudo---rarely does she deviate from those two selections. I had the squash soup this last visit--very good, as expected. Match the wonderful food with something like the Domaine Laroche Chablis and you will leave with a smile on your face.

The restaurant is located in the Four Seasons over looking Puget Sound. Very modern, great service, fun atmosphere, etc. - all to be expected in a Four Seasons. I had the King Crab Pasta here - absolutely recommended. A very fine dish.

We had a business event in the restaurant with three large tables in the back area. They had a nice setup for us plus we also have nice view for our last dinner together. We had a team of waiters and they did a great job with cocktails, keeping the water pouring and meal service. They pre-set a few starters, main dishes and desserts for us. Unfortunately their signature crab and beet salad wasn't on our menu. I asked the waited if he could make that substitution for me and he gladly did it. I really enjoyed the salad and my grill Alaskan King Salmon was also very good. Sometimes hotel restaurants are average at best but this place exceeded my expectations.

We had an hour to kill in the area before a lunch reservation, so I suggested to my husband that we stop into the Four Seasons for a drink and to look at the view. We were seated in a cocktail lounge area and given menus. The server then disappeared for a prolonged period of time as we waited to order. When she finally returned, I ordered a latte and my husband ordered a cocktail. Approximately twenty minutes later, as I was wondering if we were ever going to receive anything, the server returned and requested a credit card before we could receive our drinks. Did she think we were going to dine and dash on two drinks? I felt insulted by the request, but told her to just go ahead and run it because at that point I wanted to be able to leave when we finally received and consumed our drinks. My husband also asked for water at this point since we hadn't received anything. I was surprised and disappointed when she returned with a credit card slip for $25 that included a mandatory 20% gratuity. Had it been my choice, she would not have been tipped at that level and I rarely leave less than 20%. I thought about subtracting it on the bill, but felt bad, so I didn't. Besides, she didn't bring me a pen with which to sign the slip! The drinks were fine, but not so great that they justified the service or price. I've been to various lunch events at this location and stayed and dined at numerous other Four Seasons and always had good experiences in the past. I see from other reviews that there does seem to be a service issue at this particular restaurant location. Hopefully it can be fixed by management!

The food is fantastic. My husband loved their chowder. Sarah was our server one evening and she’s terrific, very personable. We had breakfast here as well Benjamin was our server and he was excellent as well. The only drawback is that there was a considerable wait time for the meals to arrive. Understandable at dinner but not so much at breakfast.

We met for a family vacation in seattle. After my " research", i made a reservation at the goldfinch tavern. If only I hadn' t done that. Outreagous prices for the quality of food they serve. On top of that they add a tipp of 20% to everybodys bill ( not only groups of 6 or more!!!), and after that they add the tax ( not before the tipp). So, who would have guessed... the service was so poor like we never have experienced before Please dear reader of this revue: don't go there!!! I have no idea, how they got those good revues, but they are definatly all fakes. ( it's the restaurant of a big hotel group....). You will be more than disappointed

Had to modify my salad due to allergies and they brought me out this beautiful, delicious salad with a few modifications that worked perfectly. The view enhanced the experience.

Have been here few times. Last time wasn't great! My scallops were super salty as well as pasta. Prices are very steep for very simple dishes like scallops or salmon or pasta. Service is good but food is very subpar. Used to be my favorite place but not anymore.

Their breakfast food is to die for. During my stay at the Four Seasons Hotel, I was able to sample the eggs benedict and the mushroom egg bake, both of which were fantastic. Service was always superb and the restaurant was never busy; you will always get a seat by the window. On top of that, the decor inside the restaurant is stunning -- a true luxury experience. If in the area, definitely stop by for a nice breakfast with a view

Occasionally you will have a meal that is exceptional on every level. This happened when we dined at Goldfinch Tavern. After our plans with friends were abruptly cancelled because of illness, we were cast adrift to find a place for dinner. Seeking seafood and a view of the water, good fortune brought us to Goldfinch. The menu was so intriguing we opted to share a variety of starters and dine tapas style to experience more dishes. Our server Tom expertly answered our questions about the food and guided us with our wine selection. Every single plate delighted us with the quality of the ingredients and the creativity of chef Danielle in combining unique flavours - ahi tuna poke, Saltspring Island mussels escabeche, asparagus with pistachios, barraja. Outstanding. And we capped the evening with “You-Hoo for Yuzu”, a dessert that was equal parts delicious food and remarkable art. Come to Goldfinch, savour the outstanding food, and request Tom as your server.

First of all this isn’t really a brunch, rather a starter and dessert “salad bar” with a selected main. Had a group of 10 visit recently and I didn’t think I’d was great value for money. Oysters explicitly advertised on the menu but none present when I walked up to the buffet.....the bits and bobs of fruit, small bites on crackers, some fairly average shrimp and mussels and biscuits with 3 types of gravy didn’t really wow me. Mains - our group had the omelet, eggs benedict, pancakes. All were very small....for ex, there is no way the omelet was a 2 egg omelet unless they use extra small eggs! $5 extra for one small slice of avocado on my eggs benedict that consisted to 1/2 of a small English muffin, extra small egg and average hollandaise sauce, really? Then one gets a 20% automatic gratuity added (all sized groups not just large ones get this) for them providing limited service: bringing coffee, only 1 of the 3 courses (you get the other 2 yourself) and mimosa top ups. Dessert was fine. Service was good and they kindly brought macaroons to the newly wed couple and birthday celebrant at our table. Love the location and view. We live in London so we experience a lot of costly restaurants but this really disappointed me as being unbalanced between quality of food and the “offering” vs the cost for it.

This place hit 10's on all counts: service, food, atmosphere. We took our nephew here for his 21st birthday celebration this weekend and it was simply perfect. Not too snooty or 'old folks' for our young guests, excellent service from start to finish two and a half hours later. The food was smashingly good! I had the Lobster Ravioli and will dream about it until I return to get it again. Reports from others who had the Roasted Chicken and Steelhead Salmon were yummy as well. Thank you Goldfinch!

We dined on the salmon two ways and pasta with clam sauce pre-symphony. The food was excellent. My friend commented that the salmon was the best she'd ever eaten and I enjoyed the clams and pasta with a hit of lemon and red pepper. Desert was also fantastic.

Most fabulous weekend brunch downtown, hands down. The ‘buffet’ is the way to go- freshest shrimp, oysters, fruits and cheeses, seafood chowder, Brussels salads, juices, desserts galore... oh and biscuits and gravy, yeh! And the entrees... the eggs Benedict is a solid choice, and there is a burger and lemon frittata pancakes and a flat iron steak. And bottomless mimosas if you are into that. You will not be disappointed.

We had a large group staying at the Four Seasons for a meeting. On the first night, our group had a large reception/dinner at the Goldfinch Tavern. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Sometimes when you eat with a large group, both suffer. This wasn't the case with our experience. I returned to have lunch with my family and had great service from Tom. Our meal was great and Chef Manu stopped by our table to chat. The Four Seasons is lucky to have such a wonderful chef on board.

After checking in at the four seasons we went to Goldfinch for a late lunch. This was our first time dining out in over year since Covid, but thankfully we felt very safe in the environment. They nicely asked we keep our masks on if we're not actively eating and we happily complied. I had the lamb ragu pasta which was delicious, and my wife's burger was perfectly cooked and tasted great. My daughter who is not usually a mac and cheese fan decided to get it this time to our surprise. We tried it with her and hands down it was the best gourmet mac and cheese we've ever tasted. She loved it and ate the whole thing. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive and made sure to let us know what's going on with our food while we waited. Even when the kids food came out with some fruit he noticed there was no strawberries in the fruit cup and made sure to go get some for us. Will definitely come back to Goldfinch again.

If you are up for very over priced food and drinks that truly underwhelm then this is the place for you. Add the mandatory 20% service charge and you got yourself a disappointing experience to say the least. This place seems to cater to tourism rather than to those looking for a real Four Seasons experience. It is a hallow facade of luxury, gentility, and class. If you want to throw your money away then this is your place.

I've been a regular at the Goldfinch Tavern located inside the 4 Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle where tourists, locals, museum and theater goers visit for good food with an amazing view of the waterfront.

First and Last Time! We heard about Goldfinch Tavern and being foodies wanted to try it out. The food was a complete disappointment. Service was decent and the ambience ok but we had high expectations especially with the high prices. Would I recommend this place to locals or tourists or friends? For the prices and the actual value you get - NO I will not recommend it. Too pricey for the quality of food and service that you get. Easier and cheaper to go to another place downtown Seattle.

The breakfast menu is completely uninspired, but it is well executed. The lunch and dinner menus are basic. The bar program is really well done. But the bar is too small. The nights we were there, it was hard to get service and hard to get a seat.

Started out pretty good but ended bad. Very poor compared to other four season restaurants in the country (SF, NYC, PHL, ETC). Bar tenders not as attentive as they should be get better service at the westin. Ordered the burger with side of mushrooms, they were raw and burger was well done ever though ordered medium. Taste was just okay lots of salt. Five guys is better. Not impressed for a four seasons. Also 20 percent service charge automatically added to bill poor taste in this day in age. We are not I Europe, even NYC and sf do not do that come on man clean it up!

This is the lobby bar inside the Four Seasons Hotel and a great place to go for fresh seafood at reasonable prices during happy hour from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Oysters on the half shell, crab cake though you just get one and the mussels were as good as it gets. Wine by the glass is a little spendy. This will be a go back to place for for my wife and I.

Goldfinch isn't a tavern - it's the restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel which is just one block from the not-to-be-missed Pike Place Market. The wall of windows all face Puget Sound. The staff is helpful without being pretentious and the lunch menu provided enough variety for any visitor. Don't miss the burger and fries!

Tasty food in a sleek setting is what this place is about. However, it seems like it has all been seen before elsewhere and lacking in originality. Menu was really good and in particular the wines by the glass but despite Four Seasons nice touches, it seemed a corporate restaurant.

Amazing bar & restaurant. The food is to die for and their selection of wines is great. The only negative would be the service was kinda slow. Not bad but just slow enough to be irritating

There were six of us for dinner. Our expectations were not very high given that this was a restaurant in a hotel lobby. We were pleasantly surprised. We began with a selection of oysters. They were delicious. Next we had a rib eye steak which was awesome. It was very flavorful and tender. It was rich with charcoal flavor. We also had burgers which everyone thought were delicious. They were accompanied with with fries which were crisp and flavorful. All in all this was a pleasant surprise and was much better than we expected. We would recommend it.

I popped down for breakfast and a happy hour snack while staying at The Four Seasons. The staff are friendly and the food great. I did the omelet for breakfast and the burger for a snack later on. They do have a happy hour drink and snack menu. I’m looking forward to coming by tomorrow to try dessert!

Great atmosphere in the Four Seasons overlooking the Wheel and puget sound. Great happy hour which saved $5 off the burger meal. Best burger I have had in Seattle.

I've been wanting to go here since they opened, finally made it. I will return to explore more of the menu. Every plate that went by our table was gorgeous. My wife and I both had the chef's tasting menu and it did not disappoint!!! Patrick was our waiter and he was professional yet engaging. Chef Joe Ritchie delivered our first course and thanked us for trusting his kitchen and staff for making our dining decisions for us. It was a fantastic dining experience.

This is a fantastic restaurant with fine views from every table. We have tried several restaurants in the area and vote the Goldfinch Tavern as the BEST IN TOWN ! I live in the Portland Oregon metro area and am very spoiled with all the delicious food I always look forward to this dining experience at the Goldfinch Tavern

This was singularly the worst service I have received at any "fine dining" establishment in any place in the world. So bad that even my three children stated that they never wanted to return. From the host stand, to the servers, to our personal waiter; they were disorganized and inattentive and uncaring. The food took forever, even my kid's hot dog. I never got my drink, had to ask twice for my kids' drinks, water wasn't refilled, asked four times to order. The waiter recognized how bad it was; and I did not want to say anything to get him into trouble but he brought the manager over to make amends. When I politely suggested points where the whole team could have avoided such a fiasco, the manager thanked me and stated that she would take a couple charges off my bill. I didn't care about the cost, I wanted a lovely meal with my family. But sure enough when the bill came, the charges were incorrect. Then the "correction" after I brought them to light was wrong. And I was even charged for adult meal when my child got a kid's meal. Further, waiter forgot my to-go bag. I ended up leaving having paid more than what I ordered AND being charged the MANDATORY TIP of 20% because I just wanted to get out of there. The food was as good as expected. But really the entire staff should never be in a Four Seasons restaurant.

Russian speaking waiter tried to overcharge us for drinks and food. He charged us double the normal cost of drinks at Goldfinch and refused to lower the price. We asked to talk to the manager and a security guard was sent over. It is not like we were drunk or disorderly. I am 50 years old and well mannered. I have receipts from previous visits to show that we were charged double.

Had dinner with 5 other people. Weak wine list, hamachi not fresh, frozen. Salmon is Alaskan but not copper river. Decent service. Very casual restaurant. Was only 3/4 full on a Friday night- tells you that the locals are not running to eat here. Cucumber salad good, friend liked his burger and another couple split the rib eye and enjoyed it. In my mind, would look for better places in Seattle.

The Goldfinch is your typical hotel restaurant. Pretty good, but nothing special. I had the eggs benedict and my friend had the crab and beet salad. Service was fine and it was nice to be able to have a window seat with a partial view to look out at the water. There are a lot of warehouse type buildings that block the view, but you can still see some of Puget Sound.

Goldfinch Tavern is one of the most desirable eateries in Seattle. The setting is very classy, the food is creative and delicious. The prices are probably the highest in Seattle. And with all that, we could not find a glass of red we liked (unless we were willing to pay $270 per 5oz glass). No, really?!

One cannot top a carefully crafted appetizer spread offerings ranging from fresh oysters, prawns to cheese, freshly made soups to other yums Then, a selection of mains from sublime pancakes to NY Strip Free flowing mimosas, coffee:tea Service and ambience to Four Seasons standards... Sublime and outstanding value

Came here the morning after Halloween. Had the brunch, not bad. The bottomless cocktails made up for the one-egg Benedict. Outstanding COVID restrooms. Every door has an elbow/knee button. It’s inside the Four Seasons hotel. A classy ambiance for a first or second date. A good view of the sound.

I've lived in the city for years and i finally tried out this gem. The atmosphere was perfect. You can hold a conversation without having to scream across the table. We enjoyed the artesian bread and quite a few drinks. we ended up sharing the burger and the Lobster Ravioli. Definitely will return

After walking up and down the hills of Seattle, I was pretty tired and needed a cool place to relax and have a light lunch. Not being a fond of coffee, I wanted something a bit more than a sidewalk bistro. The Four Seasons Hotel was right there where I had stopped to overlook Elliot Bay. Tom our server was friendly and attentive to our desire to have a relaxed lunch even though it was busy with the noontime business people. Light plates of Apricot Bruschetta and Smoked Salmon Bruschetta with a choice of local hard cider were just the thing. We did feel awkward being there in jeans and flannel shirts, but the service was on spot regardless. Great view of the bay from the tavern.

We had brunch at The Goldfinch after a play at Beniroya. The place was hopping with the $49 brunch buffet that included unlimited Mimosas and a good looking buffet. We opted to order off the menu. Unfortunately the Fonte cappuccinos, ($6) which is normally so good were almost cool by the time we got them. As were my Cascade waffles. ($19) They were tasty however, loaded with blackberries, bananas and strawberries. There was a nut butter (hazelnut?) that was very good. Too bad they were hardly even warm. The beet crab salad, although quite small in size ($17) had rave reviews. The Burrata salad had too much sweet balsamic (Saba?) to be enjoyed ($19) - should’ve requested in the side. Our server, Frankie, was very good although smelled like a cigarette. He brought the youngest diner a plate of fruit to begin (complimentary) and some chocolate chip pancakes & chocolate pudding to end. Needless to say she was flying high as we left. 20% service charge added in - total for brunch $130.00 for 3 adults & a child. Great view and fun atmosphere.

Had the ‘Trust the Chef’ Tasting Menu with wine pairing. It was extraordinary- one of the best tasting menus I’ve had. Great tastes expertly prepared and a good number of appetizers were presented. Wine pairing went well with the dinner. Highly recommended!
Mediocre food, extensive wine list
Good for dining in, or on an expense account. No reason to especially seek this place. Not overly expensive but not cheap for the small portions served. Four bucks for a few slices of bread and ten for three slivers of cheese. I exaggerate , not. Three slivers with a few crackers and walnuts. My dish was labelled as duck leg with gnocchi. It should have been gnocchi with a morsel of overdone extra crispy duck. The gnocchi was well cooked but floated in a bed of oil and was way under seasoned. Salmon , by its color seemed farmed which to me is big no no, especially at nearly forty bucks. Lastly the panacotta desert is microscopic in propotion, I do exaggerate this instance. It is actually 2tbs full.
