Delicious but very rude manager

By Anousch_AMA |

Loved the service. They make the guacamole at your table. Don’t have that in other Mexican restaurants. Margaritas Great. We had a burrito and fajitas - very delicious. But the lady who manages this place actually dispraised oke of her employed in front of us. Just because a chair was a bit out of position. Not a great atmosphere when she is around...

Excellent food, excellent service

By N Casey |

We stayed at New York New York and this restaurant is on the property. The food was absolutely fantastic. Our waiter, Alex, was the best. He was funny, attentive to all of our needs, and made sure our experience was a total delight. We enjoyed it so much, we went back for a second night. It was again an exceptional experience. We has Alex on the second night as well. He remembered us and everything we had ordered the first night. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Las Vegas. Five stars!

Authentic Mexican food

By kirsty c |

We ate both lunch and dinner here while in Vegas. The table side guacamole was delicious! The food was fresh and light and very authentic. Service both times was excellent as was the sangria. Very busy for dinner so I would recommend making a reservation.

Disappointed

By pauldawson10000 |

Really disappointed, cold, bland expensive food, not a patch on what it used to be won't be coming back.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GYG

By timbo |

Great service and a great lunch menu. Multiple choices for about $10. I had a delicious taco salad and my wife had the tacos. Large servings. Jose was a great waiter.

Poor

By truth99 |

Was quiet so initial service was quick. Then food came, it was ok, nothing great. Then service slowed to a standstill, despite it being nowhere near full. Really nothing worth writing home about. Wouldn’t recommend.

Awesome Mexican Food!

By Nattysimps |

Great Mexican food restaurant with cool decor. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. I will be back :)

Just Dinner

By Motomom27 |

Typical Mid range hotel food. Service was fast and friendly. Not too busy when we were there. Food was good. Nothing to get too excited about.

Good food. Great service!

By Chuckwud |

Really good food. Our server, CHRIS, was THE BEST! He’s a great asset to your business! Very helpful with selecting our food and our drinks! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Delicious!

By Tammy W |

There was no wait time to get into the restaurant. The food is very delicious, and get large portions. Never any room for desert when I eat here.

Bad Food

By Jill Z |

Unfortunately, this was the worse Mexican food we ever had. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. The food was lukewarm warm and the flour tortillas were hard around the edges. The food looked like it was cooked and reheated. Never again.

Pass on this

By E T |

Being from texas I guess my expectations are high on tex mex or Mexican food in general. The queso has the same spice blend you would put in spaghetti sauce. Aragano in queso. No. The nachos were average at best and the chips that say are fresh made are not. Salsa was just average as well. Overall. Overpriced for tacos, chips and salsa and terrible recipes. Service was average at best. If staying or dropping in at ny ny grab a slice and a beer and pass this place

Wonderful service

By gsawyer69 |

I have stayed at NYNY for years now, and for no particular reason I have never stopped in until this year. It was extremely packed and I noticed that my server Chris was bouncing around like a rubber ball. And the entire time it was nothing but hustle and a smile. The food was really good, but he was simply amazing.

Great bartender and drinks

By Barry H |

I thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the bar with Dana the bartender. Great service and personable! The chips and salsa are amazing. Great place to sit for a couple of drinks and appetizers. I will definitely be back!

Amazing, hits the spot

By R3C0NXD45 |

My wife cannot go without carne asada tacos and I’m always a fan of fajitas - this place definitely met and exceeded our expectations! They made the guac fresh at our table which was a big surprise and had a great 32oz margarita! Even got free ice cream with the kids meals!!

Best restaurant in New York New York!!

By MelissaClaire93 |

We stayed 5 nights and by mid trip we were struggling to find affordable food options close to the hotel. Gonzalez y Gonzalez was inside the hotel and the prices were reasonable so we decided to try it. We did take out and took it back to our room. I got a mango margarita and we decided to split the nachos as a meal. With takeout we had placed an order and had our food probably within 10 mins. The nachos were HUGE and tasted amazing and the margarita was incredible. Prices were decent. Would definitely eat here again if looking for an option close.

Great food!

By kaj20 |

We went for the Happy Hour at 2:00 PM. The appetizer and margarita specials were good deals. Our server at the bar, Jaime, was excellent. We love their chips and salsa and will definitely go back again.

Fabulous Mexican Meal!

By Robbi P |

We stopped in here not knowing what to expect, we were not disappointed. They bring out nachos and salsa before your meal. Big serving size. I ordered the chimichanga it was delicious. I was disappointed in the refried beans but everything else was delicious. My husband had the fajita burrito it was large enough for two. Service and prices really good. Would go back here for a good Mexican meal.

Terrible service

By Mike |

I haven’t had as bad of customer service as this in a long time. Waited in line for almost an hour. Saw multiple tables open (none were left open for COVID anymore). Never got any communication from the 3 hostesses at the desk on a wait, they just stared down at the desk. On top of this, there was a family of 5 who just waltzed in with pizza from a different place and just sat down at an open table. I’m assuming they were with someone else, but they weren’t paying customers. They should’ve been told to eat where they got the food from. Then when we are next in line (after waiting another 15 minutes at the front) we were told it could be another 15 minutes to an hour. We just left we were so mad. Will probably not give them another try.

Want some good homemade food?

By CharleySD |

Needed to cool down and ended up at Gonzalez y Gonzales. Did not reach to get seated before water and glases was on the table. A big plus when it is 104 outside, We got a table just underneath the ac and asked i we could change table - after a minut our new table was ready and the friendly waiter helped move our things. We ordered burito, chimichanga and enciladas. All 3 meals was excelent presented and the taste was good. Would like it more spicy but is not a show-stopper. Price is reasonable. Waiters it polite with a good humor.

Great food and drinks!

By BoardingPass824950 |

We had a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday afternoon. The service was excellent and the food was great. Nicely seasoned beef chimichangas and chicken enchiladas. The mixed berry margarita was wonderful. We would definitely make this a stop the next time we're in town!

Flavorful Ritas, Salsa & Enchiladas

By LuvToTravelx2 |

We stopped here for a quick lunch while visiting NYNY Hotel & Casino ... could not be more pleased. Raymond took good care of us with friendly service, cold frozen Ritas and flavorful food. Definitely recommend.

Great service, good food

By katie77iris |

We enjoyed this restaurant. The waiter was very friendly, and professional and the food was really good!

Good Food ---- Way Too Expensive

By ronsensolo |

The food and the service were very good. However, the price was extremely high for a rather simple restaurant. It was also very cold due to the air vent blowing. Moved twice and the draft was everywhere! Enjoyed it once but so expensive I won't be going again.

Great food at a reasonable price

By cazzab33 |

Fantastic food at a very reasonable price! There’s a great selection on the menu and portion sizes are generous. Would definitely recommend!

Best Mexican

By Kenneth M |

We eat at Gonzales y Gonzales each time we come to Vegas . We love the friendliness of the staff, the chips and salsa, the fresh made guacamole, the Margaritas, and the Taco Salad. A go to place

Nice restaurant with good service and great vegetarian options

By Joanne T |

We went to this restaurant while staying at NY NY vegas while on holiday from the Uk. We hadn’t booked a table so I there was a 45 min wait which was fine we just had a drink then went back 45 mins later. They took us strait to a table think our waiter was Joshua? And he was great! We explained that we were vegetarian and he explained what was suitable for us. We had the nachos with 3 different dips salsa, guacamole and cheese all nice a little bit hot but it is Mexican and if it’s not hot enough for you then there is a few hot sauces on your table to use so just add to it as my husband did to his. Then we had veggie fajitas and veggie quesadillas and it was all very tasty! My husband had a beer and I had a nice cocktail and they also bought us some nice iced water. We thought it was very reasonable price wise compared to other restaurants in vegas and would def recommend this restaurant to others if visiting vegas.

Great Mexican Cuisine!

By 832vgs |

Gonzalez Y Gonzalez at the New York New York Hotel & Casino serves authentic Mexican cuisine such as Chicken Empanadas, Chicken Taquitos, Steak Nachos, Quesadilla, soups, salads etc. We enjoyed an afternoon lunch at the Restaurant during our stay at the Hotel. We relished their Sangria for drinks with Chips & Salsa and Salmon. The dishes were well cooked and delicious. The place is spacious and the ambience perfect. The décor is Mexican. The staff are helpful and take great care of customers. Worth the value.

Excellent Mexican Food Returns.

By Charles K |

Ireturned to the restaurant as it has reopened and I;m glad very little has changed. You have to maintain Scial Distancing SO there was a LITTLE waiut for a table. There were a few items off the menu for simplicity sake too. However, the rest was the same. My server was attentive. The Ultimate Margartia was BIG, strong and tasted great. I had the Camarones Mexicanos which were marinated jumbo shrimp with peppers, onions, other veggies in a slightly spicy sauce with rice, black beans an tortillas. It wa just like I remembered. I was hungry this evening SO I got the fried ice cream whichcame in a fried tortilla shell and a cup of coffee. I was stuffed. It was a VERY good experience and one I would gladly repeat.

Great atmosphere

By Mh |

Great atmosphere with delicious food and drinks. Friendly staff. The margaritas were súper. I definitely recommend it

Great chips and salsa

By kaj20 |

We had drinks and snacks here at the bar. Their chips and salsa are excellent. We also recommend the table-side guacamole---so fresh and delicious. Our server was wonderful.

Lovely location & food

By Jazz Gumbo |

We had a great meal here & the ice cream highlighted has to be tasted without a doubt! Wide range of mexican meals for every taste. Well worth a visit, always seemed busy, which we take as a good sign. Excellent & friendly staff which is always a bonus.

Decent margaritas. Poor food.

By Hitcher84 |

In the casino. I thought their margaritas were ok. Not very impressed with the food. Overpriced Mexican food that should be cheap. Better options.

Barbacao Enchiladas were to die for.

By Ali |

Server was friendly and attentive, Barbacao enchiladas were insane. We were staying at the NY-NY so already had a lot of choice for food. Previously had overlooked this restaurant but glad we popped in for lunch!

Great guac

By modernlizbennet |

I love tableside guacamole and they do it well here. The service was good, as were the margaritas. There is nothing outstanding about this Mexican restaurant but it's very tasty.

Order the guacamole

By Kim_F_CA |

Was not sure if we’d reservations so we made one, but we were only one of 6 or so tables so it was not needed at lunch time on a Wednesday. Our server was very good, giving us tips about the menu and what he’d order and why. You must try their table-side guacamole! So good! And plenty to share. We did aone combo fajita platter with shrimp and chicken, and with the guacamole and chip it was a perfect lunch for two.

Average food, priced right

By afrahm2726 |

I wouldnt say there is anything spectacular about this restaurant. Good food, service was a little slow, but the prices were better than other restaurants with same type of food. My husband and I enjoyed our food of enchilades and burrito. Salsa is also ver good!

What happened to this place?

By surplusgal |

I have ate here a couple of times, the staff do not care if you are happy. They are more concerned with what is on TV! If the manager ever reads this. why do 5 people have to wait our table? One to take the food, one to take the drink order, one to deliver the food. No one asked if we needed anything else, no refills on water, the waitress didn't have a room slip with the bill - had to go get another slip for a room charge. Will not return again. The place wasn't even that busy. Don't be so cheap with the chips - They should be FREE!

Dishonest

By Brad C |

They charge for chips and salsa without telling you, haven’t even seen a menu yet. The recommended tip percentages include the tax. I don’t tip on tax.

Nothing Special

By SKB627 |

The food here was fine, but we wouldn't go back. Just expected something a little more tasty. Juan was a delightful server.

Solid Mexican Restaurant in Vegas

By George D |

We enjoyed our lunch at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez this trip. Wonderful margaritas started us out right. We had the Gonzalez Cadillac. Chips and Salza was good with a touch of heat in the salza. All meals were good except for my crispy tacos, which were soggy. Tableside guacamole was outstanding!

Great tortilla soup

By DONP |

Large menu....good food and good service....recommend the tortilla soup at $9 is a bargain. It's a meal in itself. My spouse had the tacos and those were good as well. They weren't too busy when we went and the service was very good. It's inside NY/NY hotel.

Average Mex Restaurant

By fallingstars26 |

Gonzalez Y Gonzalez is a Mexican restaurant inside the New York New York Hotel - but more like a sports bar. We ordered nachos, fish tacos, enchilada (barbacoa), cocktails - pretty generous servings and guacamole was mixed infront of us (we enjoyed it). The guacamole needs more lime though. The attendants were very nice and attentive. The service was smooth and we didn’t have to wait for too long to get our orders.

Great food and good service -- just a little pricey but that's Vegas.

By Stephanie D |

My husband and two of our friends had a late lunch here recently and it was very good. All of our entrees were quite tasty and honestly, the only complaint I had about food was the "home made at the table" guacamole - it had way to much onion and cilantro and was actually inedible. Our servers were friendly and quick and other than being a little expensive for Mexican food, it was pretty darn good.

$3 food for $30.

By Dallasf16 |

You have to order chips and salsa a La carte. If it’s a high end Mexican restaurant I might be ok with that. I ordered it though. Chips were good but the salsa tasted like canned “fire roasted tomatos” that you would find in a grocery store. For the meal I ordered the barbacoa chimi. The chips and salsa came out 2 min after I orders, and literally 1 min later the chimi came out. Obviously sitting in a heat lamp and not freshly made. Tasted ok but clearly not fresh. Avoid this restaurant if you are looking for good Mexican food.

Great For Groups As Well As Couples!

By Sue L |

Last year we were here with a group of 8 for a birthday party and really enjoyed it. We were back in Vegas on a solo couples trip recently and wanted to revisit. So happy we did, the chips and salsa was so good and such a generous portion! We had enchiladas and fajitas. This was a lunch trip and we ate so much - definitely fueled us up for the rest of the day. We were in line before they opened and the staff acknowledged us, letting us know it would be just a few more minutes, instead of ignoring us until they opened. Very nice of them. We were so happy we went back there this year, and will keep this place on our "must visit" list for future trips!

Did someone say "crab guacamole"??

By adeekel |

This place has your typical delicious Mexican food on big plates with rice and beans. I got the chimichanga--yum! Hubby got the chile rellenos (I think) and enjoyed it. Their chips and salsa is good as well. The salsa is a little smokey and dark red and blended--just the way I like it. I strongly prefer blended over chunky so that was a nice surprise. What we really enjoyed was the table side crab guacamole! It was delicious! They bring it out with all the components and you can pick and choose what to put in your guac. We chose to have everything except the red onion and it was fabulous. I know I definitely ate too much that night but it was sooo worth it.

PLce to go for Mexican in NYNY Casino

By Tvler8 |

Fantastic Chips and Guacamole starter freshly made at the table. Defiantly large portions. The chicken enchiladas combo was perfect size. really good servers

Not impressed

By HangingWithMyGnomies |

Food arrived quickly. Server was nice. Husband enjoyed his chicken burrito but I had the shredded beef tacos. The beef was quite mushy and tacos very bland overall. The beef needed to be seasoned. Was planning on getting dessert as deep fried ice cream is hard to find where I live. Waitress did not offer/ask if we wanted anything else. Just dropped the bill and walked away. Would not return. Wish we ate elsewhere.

Great Experience at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez

By Raspberry B |

We visited this restaurant for the first time last week, to celebrate my son's 22nd birthday. The food was wonderful! The wait staff was very attentive. My husband casually mentioned to our waiter that it was my son's birthday and after we enjoyed our entrees, the wait staff presented themselves at our table with fried ice cream adorned with a candle and they all sang happy birthday to him! The best part was the fancy sombrero they plopped on his head for the birthday song! We all loved it! Very good food, and very welcoming environment. Will definitely go again next trip.

Great food Great atmosphere and service

By Edward B |

Food was fantastic. We were a little disappointed because they don't serve chips and salsa without paying for it. But the portions of are meals were too large for us to finish are meals. Prices were very reasonable. Beer was very cold as it should be. We give them 5 stars.

Best tableside guacamole

By kaj20 |

The table-side guacamole here is always so fresh and delicious. The chips and salsa with it are very tasty. If you go for Happy Hour, there are some good deals on margaritas and other appetizers.

🌟🌟🌟

By Alan N |

I’m not a fan of Mexican food but others in the party wanted to eat here. Located in the Eateries of New York New York Hotel, it was easy to get to and we were seated immediately. I had the Carne Asada Tacos. It came with refried beans and rice. Refried beans was excellent but everything else IMO was just okay. No life changing experience here. Price ……you are in Vegas🙄. Cleanliness and Service -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Food -⭐️⭐️⭐️. I don’t think I’d go back but you never know.

I agree with the rest of Tripadvisor reviews!

By TroyFromVan |

Attentive, friendly and efficient staff. Food is hot, fresh and tasty. Good choices on menu. Margs are excellent!

Great Mexican food!

By Virginia C |

We visited Vegas 4 times this year and make a point of having lunch at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez while in Vegas. This time I had the quesadilla with grilled chicken and my husband has the enchiladas, both delicious. We also had the chips and salsa, also really good. Try the house margaritas! Reasonable priced too. Enjoy!

Dinner

By Meremale60 |

Decided on Mexican for dinner and it was very enjoyable... staff friendly and efficient.. we asked for no black beans and no problem just added more rice...

Great Fajitas

By LV |

Chicken Fajitas were excellent. Generous amount. My husband and I shared. Refried beans were seasoned and the best I've ever had. Chicken was not over spiced or burnt, like a lot of fajitas we get in the east. Salsa was wonderful.

Tasty

By Brian G |

Food here was so good. They make the guacamole at your table! The wait was reasonable. The service was excellent. The price was reasonable. Its also a great place to watch people if you get a table next to the indoor L street. (its inside the New York New York Casino …looks like a movie set.)

Vegas vacation

By Virginia M |

Nice setting. Outstanding fajitas and plenty of them. Great place to eat if you are going to TMobile for an event. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful.

So-so; major decline

By L Q |

Went here pre-covid 5/2019 and it was excellent! We had placed it our must visit list it was that good. This time it was average (at best) and that’s us being generous and allowing for the atmosphere. Luckily the prices are average too so didn’t feel like we overpaid. Hopefully they can pick it back up and return to the good quality and delicious dishes that they once had.

Good lunch

By Daniel K |

We were walking around looking at all the casinos and decided to stop at this place. Service was quick and friendly. Food had food flavor and portion size was good. Nothing stood out but it was a good lunch and prices were good as well.

A great option at NYNY

By Nicolle M |

We loved it so much we came back the next day! Great location in NY NY hotel. Try the carne asada salad- it's delicious. Good service, nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend the tableside guacamole.

Vegas Favorite

By Lorie |

We stop to eat here every time we visit Vegas. Reasonably priced meal. Be sure to try the margaritas with chips and fresh guacamole! Always great service.

Great food

By Carlos C |

We eat here every time we are in Vegas. The food is great and the staff always treats you great. It does get busy so you will have to wait for a table sometimes but the food is worth the wait

Not very friendly

By 2018TheWorldIsMine |

My wife and I stopped in for happy. We sat at the outside area bar (Not outdoors). We were going to have a light snack and a few drinks before the hockey game. We had a very pleasant female bar tender who welcomed us and provided good service. Then shift change and the most unpleasant, unhappy person we have met in Vegas shows up as our bartender. I think his name was Jason. He constantly talked about how dumb the owners of the restaurant are for having long happy hours during hockey games, how he did not like the glasses they used to make drinks. He was belittling to other servers as well as the wonderful lady we that served us at first. She would ask him questions and he just ignored her seemed he did not want to be there. Was telling other patrons how the happy hour was not a great deal that you just get cheep liquor. Needless to say my wife and I as well as 2 other groups left well before we had planned due to Jason and his lack of friendly customer service. Would visit again if he is not tending bar

Great pit stop for snacks

By matthewsJ2596IH |

For everything we wanted, the place was perfect. You know how sometimes you get the munchies while walking the strip and have no idea what you want? In all transparency, we have not had a dull meal here but their fresh tortilla chips, salsa and table side made guac does it for us. Everything tastes so fresh and considering this is a hotel restaurant, I find the prices reasonable in food and what you would expect for prices on beverages. Friendly fast service satisfies those munchies during the day or night.

Many Photos Added. How do you mess up Mexican Food?

By NitroDog |

My wife and I dined here for dinner. Located in the New York-New York Hotel & Casino. She had a Chicken Quesadilla and I had the Taco Salad with beef. The beef was over cooked and very tough. Her Quesadilla had all the topping in the middle with 1-1/2" of just tortilla. The service was good. I added many photos of our visit.

Mexican food on the Strip

By Michael M |

excellent restaurant, excellent food. This is located in the New York, New York Hotel. Fresh made Guacamole, made right at the table. Enchiladas and Veggie Fajitas were yummy. Loved the salsa with the chips too! All in all a great experience. Would highly recommend!

Bleh

By mauiwolf |

I loved my server, Lupita. I thought she was quite good. But everything else was underwhelming. I ordered nachos. They came out with the wrong kind of meat. I was just going to eat them, and I got halfway done when Lupita brought me a new, correct, meal. The only problem was the meat on both was not very good. Bad flavor and not very tasty. So, both were disappointing. I asked my wife about her chimichanga and she just gave me a shrug of disenchantment. You also have to pay for chips and salsa, though it was relatively easy to get in and have dinner before the hockey game, which was good.

Average Dinner

By VegasToEssex |

We visited for dinner before the Golden Knights game. It was ok - average Mexican food in my opinion. Salsas, especially the mild salsa, were bland and flavorless. Guacamole was ok. I had carne asada tacos for my main dish and they were mediocre. Cadillac margaritas were good though, although we had trouble finding our server for a second round.

Terrible marg.

By Kristy D |

The food here was fine for a casual restaurant, atmosphere fun. I was served the worst tasting margarita I have ever had. I didn’t drink it and the waiter took it off the bill which I appreciated.

EXCELLENT Mexican Dinners!

By Charles K |

I had another free stay at the hotel and I decided to come back to the Mexcian restaurant. It was SO good this time that I had dinner here twice! The first time I went for the Premium Margarita made with Patron Tequila which was awesome and strong. I got the specialty Camarones {shrimp} in a slightly spicy sauce with onions and peppers. It came with a side of rice, pico de gallo, guacamole and was excellent. The second time I made it during Happy Hour SO I got the House Margarita which was discounted and tasted pretty good. For the Happy Hour dinner special, there was a shrimp and tilapia dinner with rice, beans and veggies with sauce which also tasted great. It allowed me to have ANOTHER discounted House Margarita SO I was well stocked after this dinner.

Nice change

By Shelly K |

The food was good here. Drinks were great. Excellent sangria. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good happy hour menu also.

Great Mexican inside of a casino

By MFC31 |

This is a great restaurant located in the New York New York casino. The fajitas and the carnitas plate were both excellent. I had a pina colada inspired margarita which was enjoyable. My wife’s house margarita had too much like cordial in it, but otherwise we had no complaints about our meal. We were even given extra tortillas to help mop up our plates!

Las Vegas Fall 2019

By Tammy W |

My friend and I ate here twice during our stay. The service is great. There was hardly any wait time to be seated. The food is excellent. Make sure you are hungry when come here, because the portions are large.

Always great food

By Donald S |

Four of us stopped for lunch. Two had the chicken taquitas one had the quesadilla and one the carne asada salad. All we’re terrific. Prepared perfectly. Plus great chips and salsa.

Solid Mexican

By Kevin M |

Good standard mexican fare for a break from all the rush elsewhere. we have tried it a few times and it's always good.

Slice of Latin heaven

By RLake3 |

Loved the food. Great latin atmosphere. Made us feel like we're back in Cancun. The Gonzales y Gonzales bowl fantastic. Our server Joel gave us great service.

Yummy Margaritas!

By William M |

This place has good draft beers and full bar, Ask Justin to make you one of his fabulous margaritas. Try the beef nachos or beef tacos. The marinated beef is to die for. You will not be disappointed. Happy Hour from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Fast, good service

By Pointy1020 |

My wife and I came to Las Vegas for concerts and were very off time wise(east coast). We had 1 hour before concert when we sat down. The staff was very attentive, food was great and fast overal service. I knocked my margarita glass and broke glass onto my dish - the staff cleaned it up fast and I had a new dinner quick. Well enjoyed and attentive staff.

Great food!

By Judy |

We ordered the portabella tostada and veggie quesadilla and it was phenomenal! Everything tasted so fresh! The staff was so friendly. It was a great time. Highly recommend.

So so

By jefflL8073NJ |

Was not good from the moment we asked for a table… rude host. The food was so so…. Tacos were very small. Just ok… waiter was nice but not a value location

Fast, easy, convenient, good food, won't break the bank

By Ravenito |

Stopped by here for dinner before a show and it was fine. Good service, the food was good, everything came out pretty quickly, no real complaints.

Getting better

By Durwood N |

We go here every trip to Las Vegas. We really love the guacamole made at table side. The tacos, soup and chips are magnificent. Great service and atmosphere. Super margaritas. Great Tex-Mex!

Fun times!

By Eikcaj |

Saturday night music and dance was good, I didn't like that you have to purchase a bottle service for seating only. Mixture of younger to over 50 partying is cool.

Really good option for dinner

By MLMRocksTravel |

So glad we had a reservation, the wait was over an hour. We gave our name and they took us right to a lovely booth. Apparently a couple of other people had asked for the front booth as it was being cleaned off, instead of just tables in the middle of the restaurant, and the booths were saved for reservations, as were the front and back tables with the best views of the New York Village. The tableside guacamole was fantastic, and a highlight of the meal. We both had enchiladas, where were delicious with the green chile and guac. The only reason this was four and not five star is the food was just warm, so was cold before we finished. Service was great and we will be back on our next visit, it was that good!

Excellent burrito. Terrible service

By Smel N. Goot |

Excellent burrito, terrible server( Gustavo). Never came back after bringing food, I had to go to kitchen to ask for red sauce. Lemonade $7, NO REFILLS! Server never checked on beverage either. Dude needs trained or coached.

Delicious!!

By Paula Cox |

Best chicken chimachungas ever! We thoroughly enjoyed our family dinner here. Really yummy corn chips and salsa to start and the guacamole was delicious. Have eaten here several times and always had good meals and good service. Only negative, took over 45mns to be seated and we could see at least 6 tables waiting to be cleared, young lady that you have to rely on to give you a table wasnt in a hurry to assist even though I said we were starving, had to hound her for a table. Many would have gone elsewhere to eat but the food is definitely worth the wait.

Checked it out before hand and was happily confirmed as good.

By Larry G |

The restaurant is in a scenic street venue of New York, New York. We looked at the menu online and it sounded good. They have a nice variety of food and drink. The service was excellent. I had a 3 item plate: cheese enchiladas, shredded beef burrito and chili rellenos. The wife had fire grilled veggy quesadilla and don steak and chicken fajitas. Everyone was full and loved their choice. All this at a reasonable price. I will be back.

Awesome

By Christina H |

My husband and I was looking for a reasonably priced Mexican restaurant on the strip with great food and found this place in New York New York. The food was sooooooo delicious and our server, Chris, was very knowledgeable and has a great memory. He took our order without even writing it down and went over to another table shortly afterwards. We swore he would forget everything we said but he did not. We got everything we asked for ON TIME. The drinks and appetizers came out way before the meal. He was attentive and made sure we were happy. I would highly recommend this place to anyway looking for a great Mexican meal on the strip. We will definitely be back.😊😊

Pleasantly surprised

By Chase V |

The food was good, standard fajitas good flavor. The salsa and chips as well as table made quac were solid. Would go for the salsa again for sure. Service prompt and good outside ambiance with the buildings of New York New York, pleasantly surprised and worth a stop if you want Tex mex type food in the area.

Many Photos Added. What happened?

By NitroDog |

Located at New York-New York Hotel & Casino. My wife and I showed up without a reservation and were told it would be a 25 to 30-minute wait. They took our phone number. The restaurant was 60-70% empty on Labor Day weekend (Sunday). After 30-minutes without a text, we returned and were told that he tried to text and we never answered. We never got a text, but were seated immediately. The service was lacking. Up-charge for chips and salsa. We passed. My wife had a three Item Combo and a Margarita. I had the Taco Salad. The food took a long time to be delivered, and they delivered the wrong food. The correct food was delivered within a few minutes. My wife's dish was very salty and my Taco Salad was small and not good at all. What happened? I have dined here before with no problems. I will give this restaurant a pass for the next few months. Many photos added.

Update! Quality back!

By Durwood N |

We have been coming here for many years. It was our impression that the service and quality had deteriorated for a while. We decided to go ahead and try and give the place another shot. Not only was the food up to and above the standard, but also the service has improved as well. I had spies which were fantastic and My table had the tortilla soup and fajitas, all of which didn’t disappoint. Thus returns to a favorite of ours

Best Nachos I’ve ever had!

By Jemma |

Best Nachos I’ve ever had! Gonzalez nachos minus the beef for my vegetarian Fiancé. Delicious! Next time I’m in Vegas I’ll definitely be going back for more 😋 No photo as they weren’t on the plate long enough!

Reasonably priced meal

By Gail R |

Standard Mexican fare....tasty and many choices. With the prices rising for food options in Las Vegas, this restaurant was very moderately priced, with a great portion size. I will return!

Tasty Mexican dinner

By piglet0576 |

After a week in the mountains, my husband & I were craving Mexican food. We were staying at the Park MGM, and noticed Gonzalez y Gonzalez was across the street at New York New York. I made a reservation within the hour on Open Table, and upon arrival we were immediately seated. We ordered the Very Berry Margarita, chip & dip sampler & the Mexican shrimp. All were delicious. The service was very prompt despite the fact they were super busy. The only downside was it was a bit noisy, as to be expected in a Casino environment. We’d definitely return next time we are in Vegas.

Decent food. Would probably dine here again.

By Vermontraveler19 |

Overall, we had a pretty decent meal here. The guac they make at the table is quite good and they give you a very generous bucket of chips upon arrival. Our waiter was ‘odd.’ He was friendly and joking around when we arrived. He said he would let us know his recommendations and if he would suggest something different on the menu. Okay, fine. But then he turned into a complete grouch. Told us to not order the burrito after we selected it. We chose something else and he said not to order that either. This seemed like strange waiter behavior. He pushed the enchiladas so we got them. They were good so no problem there but I’ve never had a waiter tell me to not order two different choices! We also had the fish tacos which while fine, we’re not traditional fish tacos with the white lime slaw. When we paid we put out our players card as you can get points at some restaurants. He came to get the bill and said ‘not going to do anything with that here’ and flicked the card back at us. As I write this, I realize this experience just really wasn’t okay. Had we had a different waiter, I bet this review would be much different.

Ate here in a rush before a show - very average

By Hannah T |

We were running late for MJ one show and staying at NYNY so just came here quick. Very overpriced for average food. We both had enchiladas which unfortunately looked a bit ‘sloppy’ with all the refried beans and sauce they put on it. Wouldn’t recommend or eat again - I’m sure there are much better Mexicans on the strip

Great Lunch

By Kel7278 |

Since we skipped breakfast we decided to have a nice Mexican lunch. This was our first time here and we were very happy with it. Prices are fair, especially compared to other restaurants with similar items. They do charge for chips and salsa but that was fine and it was much we didn't even finish it. I got a chicken/steak combo fajitas. I actually thought the chicken tasted better of the two and there was not a lot of meat. There were 4 good sized tortillas which was nice (but couldn't use all)! My hubby had steak tacos. They were VERY full and tasty! Service was great and we will eat here again. Only suggestion is to open at 11am like so many others, they opened at noon so we waited in line for them to open.

Dinner in NYNY Las Vegas

By DeanieB73 |

Ate here during our stay at the hotel. Busy restaurant so had to wait for a table, they took our mobile number and messaged us when the table was ready we waited no longer than 20 minutes. Service was quick and food and drink were both good. Would definitely go back if in Vegas. I had the chicken enchiladas which were really delicious the portion sizes are quite big so we didn’t need a starter or dessert

Fun

By Ussubforce |

Location location location Food is good too. I was only able to make it through the ceviche and the salsa they gave me but both were fantastic. The verde salsa had a char taste which was excellent. The drunk was awesome as well. Juan really had his stuff together and was well timed. Sitting "outside" was fun too. Great experience.

Favorite Mexican food

By kaj20 |

This is our favorite place to get Mexican food in Vegas. The table-side guacamole is the best. Love their chips and salsa too. The service is always good.

Solid average

By AmberO189 |

Service was great but the food was average at best. Drinks were excellent. You do pay extra for the salsa. Got right in with a reservation.

Nice Food....Nothing Amazng

By Joe C |

We visited here for our second time, we were seated outside in the NYNY streets which was a nice atmosphere. We opted for nachos and table made guacamole to start – the guacamole was well made and very tasty, but with the free chips already on the table, this suddenly turned into chip overload. Nachos were also very tasty, and a huge size. For mains we opted for Fajitas and the Pork Stew – both of which were huge portions and nice. Sadly, we don’t remember this being as good as our first visit, maybe our eyes were too big for our stomachs, but we walked away feeling it was very mediocre and nothing overly special, but its certainly a good representation of Mexican food.

Yummy!!

By Cheryl M |

We were going to eat at another place in Aria, but at the last minute decided to take the tram to MGM Park and then walk across the street to New York New York. We were so glad that we did, the place had just opened for the day, so no wait and the food was very delicious. We both felt we needed some refuge, so I ordered the Southwestern Cesar salad and my husband had the Taco salad. Both were good portioned and the flavor of the meats were tasty. The salsa is not tomatoey and has a smooth flavor. I would recommend to Mexican food lovers.

Tasty Mexican Food!

By golfinggirl802 |

We went to Gonzalez Y Gonzalez before the Hockey game at T-Mobile Arena. The restaurant was recommended to us by our Lyft driver who states he ate there frequently. I reviewed the place online & looked over the menu to see what looked good. A bit disappointing there wasn’t a Happy Hour since we were just planning to have some drinks & appetizers. The house margarita was OK, nothing to write home about. We had the Gonzalez Nachos with ground beef and the Chicken Quesadilla. The Nachos were very fresh & loaded with beef, refritos, Chihuahua cheese, pico de gallo & sour cream. We asked for the guacamole on the side since my husband is not a fan. The Chicken Quesadilla was packed full of chicken & very tasty. The Guacamole was delicious, chunky & very fresh, although a little on the spicy side. Portions were generous & the prices were a bit higher than those noted on the website. We got a table on the side which was great for people watching!

Great food!

By Joe C |

Visited here for dinner, the menu is large and has many options depending on what you fancy. We were seated inside in a typical Mexican feel themed restaurant, very authentic. We decided to go for the table-made guacamole and chips to start, the guacamole was served and made table side and was super tasty – but we doubled up on chips, as we were unaware you also get complimentary chips as well! The salsa that comes with the chips is also so good! For main course we went for Chicken & Beef Fajitas and Chicken Enchiladas – both dishes were a great portion size and really tasty! We would highly recommend both, the chicken and steak served with the fajitas was soooo good! For dessert we opted for the Mexican Flan which was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient - but sadly our plates were left on the table and not cleared away until we paid the bill. We would highly recommend this restaurant which had a real authentic feel, we would certainly return – one tip is that it might be best to sit “outside” on the streets of New York, as we felt this would have been a nicer experience than sat inside the restaurant.

Great service, great food!

By Therogersfamily |

Great service, great food! Very Tex Mex! Reminded me of my favourite Mexican food growing up! Shrimp Fajitas were very tasty.

Good Food, Average Service

By freutmich |

I left this place with mixed feelings. On the one hand, the food was good and the margarita I got was fantastic. But the service was unimpressive. I ordered an appetizer that never came. When I pointed it out to the server he said he'd get it for me, but I'd already started on my entree. I told him at that point, never mind. Then he just walked away. He never apologized. This happened during a mid-afternoon lunch when hardly anyone else was there. If they can't keep track of basic orders when things are slow, I wouldn't want to go when they're busy.

Disappointing dinner

By Bill H |

Service was excellent and it went downhill from there. I had the night special, small portion with no flavor and a high price. Wife had a burrito with red sauce. Big burrito but again a lack of flavor except for the red sauce that tasted like it had chinese 5 spice in it. Not a good combination at all. Have to pay for chips and salsa. You would thing for the price of he meal, $78 which included 2 beers, chips would be complimentary. Another example of more ip off in Las Vegas. It doesn’t seem like hey are learning specially when you see the lack of people

Hidden Gem. Great Food. Big Drinks. Super Service.

By Bob O |

Our first time at this restaurant which is in the main level of New York New York hotel and casino. The menu is extensive. The fresh guacamole is made at your table. The drinks are huge and the food is delicious. You can’t go wrong at Gonzales y Gonzales.

A Must Go!

By Ivan S |

The table side guacamole is enough alone!!!! Everything was delicious. Great service and atmosphere!

Birthday dinner

By melwashere81 |

Had my birthday dinner here while visiting Vegas! It's located inside the New York New York hotel, so I was surprised it wasn't that busy. We got seated right away and ordered drinks. Our waitress was really nice and the food was delicious! You do have to pay for chips and salsa here, though, but that's OK. We chose the 3 dip option, and it was amazing! Thanks to everyone here for a great birthday dinner!

Very Good Mexican Restaurant

By E L |

We decided to try this restaurant during our last trip to Las Vegas. So glad we did! Our waiter was very good - he had a great personality and kept checking in with us to see if we needed anything. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We look forward to our next trip to Las Vegas and Gonzalez & Gonzalez!

Better all the time

By Durwood N |

Over the years where we have eaten here, but this trip proved to be exceptional. The guacamole, which is consistently outstanding was as advertised, the tacos were served perfectly and tasted great, and the chip dip trio was superb. We also tried the fajitas and they were tremendous as well. I would definitely come back.

One Dinner Good; the other MEH.

By Charles K |

While I was staying at the hotel, we stopped by the restaurant for a pre-show dinner. We got some chips and salsa on the house for some reason so we weren't arguing! I had a Patron Margarita which was excellent as always. I got the house special camarones {shrimp} mexicanos which were sauteed in a slightly spicy sauce with lots of onions and pepers and served with rice, beans, pico, guacamole. It was nice BUT my friend had chiles rellenos which were TOO cheesy and you couldn't taste much else. I would avoid those. Otherwise, it was a nice experience. I would return BUT be more selective.

Cant wait to get back there.

By Raynee W |

We just love this Mexican restaurant. Great ambiance and the staff are so professional. We make a couple stops here every time we come to Las Vegas. My husband is very picky and says that they have the best tacos he has ever had. I cannot get enough of their chicken tortilla soup. Their blended margaritas are something out of this world. We cannot wait to get back to NYNY and Gonzales Y Gonzales.

Very satisfying!

By MaryAnn59 |

I think the rating is somewhere between average and very good. The server was very nice, the restaurant was freezing and he moved us to a warmer location. Chips and salsa really tasty, margarita not that great. Fajitas very good, large portion for two to share for sure. Overall happy with the meal, just not a fan of the hotel. So dark and dreary. Really needs a re-do!

For what you get the price is high

By Neda F |

We had SIZZLING FAJITAS.. portion was small.. didn’t even come with cheese…their drinks it’s good but expensive .The place is good for having drinks…food and even there appy is small portions and expensive

Pretty good place

By stitcher1951 |

We have stayed ay NY NY many times and have never visited this restaurant until our last trip We were pleasantly surprised! We started with salsa and chips and table side guacamole.. both were excellent! The salsa was a dark fire roasted tomato salsa and i loved it. Also they give you LOTS of chips We ordered a berry rita and it is one of the best i have had My husband had a chicken Caesar and he said it was good but the chicken was a little dry I had the three enchiladas. Two chicken and two shredded beef. I have had better enchilada sauce but still these were good. We will visit this restaurant at our next stay at NY NY

Not as crazy expensive as some

By Wanderlust81506 |

Vegas used to be awesome because it was inexpensive and they just wanted you there to gamble. Now it is crazy expensive everywhere. This is actually decent Mexican that can be eaten without blowing $50. I had the taquitos app as my meal ($10.95) and the three rolled tacos were super crispy and tasty and covered in a pile of good guac and a nice crema. The rest of my party got good-sized margaritas (though not at all cheap - $12-$16 each) and most everyone seemed happy with their food.

It's fine.

By Courtney |

Had a quick dinner here one night. I had Coco Loco for a drink which was not strong, but good. Shrimp tacos and queso with chips. Chips and salsa aren't free. Food was good but service was sort of slow. It was fine, good for a quick meal.

Disappointed

By 2018TheWorldIsMine |

This was our second trip to Gonzalez and still not good. We ordered the enchiladas and fajitas. If you like frozen tv dinners than the enchiladas are for you. Do not taste fresh and other than salt no flavor. The fajita steak looked fresh cooked but again no flavor. The chips and salsa you have to pay for the chips are very thick salsa just not good. We will not return.

Decent Mexican Food

By therealS1 |

Located within New York New York, this Mexican restaurant has been around for many many years. It will satisfy those evening cravings for Mexican food, but average at best. The table side guacamole dip is the highlight of the meal. Service is spread out over multiple employees, so sometimes it’s hard to tell who is responsible for your table. Prices are steep for the food and drinks.

Decent Food Great Service

By Kuvasz1988 |

My food was good. Nothing special, typical standard Mexican fare. The service was however superior. Our server was a true professional!

Lovely meal!

By Pollie Lou |

Really enjoyed our meal here! There was a 15 minute wait for a table but they took my number and text when it was ready so we had a walk round the hotel for a bit until it was ready. The server we had was really nice and we ordered some chips and trio of dips whilst we decided on our main course. I had the steak fajitas and my husband had the ground beef tacos. The portion sizes were large but the dips for the chips were so good! It wasn’t really expensive either and thought it was really good value for money! We were sat ‘outside’ which is really lovely atmosphere and has a streeet like atmosphere which we really liked.

Disappointed

By JulesY959 |

Took a really long time and then it wasn’t what we ordered. Make sure you have plenty of time. I wouldn’t come back. Food was on the hot side for me but was good. Just not what we ordered. Didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes for it to be fixed.

Magic Mexican in New York New York Hotel

By Paula Cox |

Absolutely devine chicken Chimachungas! Plenty of guacamole , sour cream and salsa, refried beans and mexican rice were perfect. Steak nachos appetizers were amazing too. We really enjoyed our meal here and will definitely go back there again, absolutely delicious.

Worthwhile Mexican food at Gonzalez y Gonzalez

By George P |

We decided to have dinner at Gonzalez y Gonzales on our first night in Las Vegas. The restaurant is located in the New York New York Resort and Casino. My wife chose the carnitas tacos and I decided on the fajitas burrito. The burrito was enormous and had good flavor but I couldn't finish it. My wife finished two of the three tacos before calling it quits. I finished the third one later and it was tasty also. The Modelo beer was cold and went down easy. I would definitely reccomend Gonzalez y Gonzalez but you had better come hungry.

Decent Food, Expensive

By Cynthia A |

We got fajitas and kids bean and cheese burrito. Our waitress was really great and patient with us. The kids burrito was the size of a small tortilla so my 9 year old finished it in 3 bites. The rice has peas and carrots in case your kids are picky and they don’t like these veggies. The beans were my daughter’s favorite part. The steak fajitas were good and I believe my friend enjoyed her chicken fajitas. Chips and salsa are not free. Total for one kids meal and one adult entree with chips and salsa ended up being about $40.

Good Mexican Restaurant

By B26Marauder |

We were craving Mexican food and this was the place we decided to visit for dinner. The service and food were good and we had the tableside guacamole. This was standard Mexican food, and I do not mean that in a bad way. This was a good choice.

Surprisingly good

By CtheWorld29 |

After a long flight we wanted to catch a bite to eat and landed here. We weren’t expecting much given the location, but we’re pleasantly surprised. The service was quick and friendly. Pro tip: We asked the bartender to make a fresh margarita without mix and it was delicious. The food was fresh and flavors good. The guacamole was especially nice. Nice pick if you’re staying at New York New York.

Another Very Good Mexican Dinner.

By Charles K |

This place is very reliable for Good Mexican / Southwestern type food everytime I come to NYNY. I usually skip the overpriced chips and salsa, they USED to be FREE, and dive into the BIG Margarita, Cadillac with Patron Tequilla for me, and I shrimp dinner. They have a new Camarones entree that's been added to the menu tha'ts just as good as the one it replaced. I was hungry enough to get dessert and the fried ice cream hit the spot. The always serve a good meal here. I haven't been disappointed yet.

Really enjoyed our meals

By btp-01 |

We stopped for supper. I had the chicken enchiladas which were quite good and my husband had the steak fajitas which were really tasty. The portions are large. The fajitas came with 6 tortillas and actually would have fed both of us. Food came out in a reasonable time and was reasonably priced especially for Las Vegas. Our server was friendly and efficient.

Refused to honor reservation

By Ashley B |

We made a reservation for 9:45 pm on OpenTable, which was quickly confirmed. We got out of our show and basically ran to NYNY, arrived at 9:50 and were told they wouldn’t seat us because we were 5 minutes late - even though their confirmation email clearly states there is a 15 minute window. Wish I could review their food but I can’t since they were lazy and closed early.

Very good Mexican food!

By Big T |

We had an excellent experience at the Gonzalez y Gonzalez restaurant yesterday afternoon. Our server, Hector, was one of the best we've had in years. He bent over backwards to get us everything we wanted. If you're chips and salsa fans like we are, definitely get an order. The salsa is likely the best I've had at a restaurant. It wasn't too hot for my wife, but the heat lingers pleasantly. Chips are chips. We also had the table-made guacamole, with all the fixings, including the diced jalapeños. *They don't salt it so don't forget to add your own, then restir. Avocado needs salt! We shared a steak and shrimp fajita plate with a side of deep fried serrano peppers. I felt the steak was overcooked, my wife thought it was perfect. Only 4 shrimp, but at least they were large. Meat was served on a large pile of well-sautéed onions and peppers. We share an entree 99% of the time because restaurants typically serve far more food than one person should eat (if they don't want to gain weight). Still, we left stuffed and I had to take a nap afterward. If we ever return to the strip, which I hope we don't as we don't care for it, we'll have another meal here.

Terrible bartenders

By Mark J |

Every bartender was rude and ignored patrons. We were meet feeling as if we were not good enough to sit at the bar. Except Carlos, he was exceptionally great!

Pretty Good

By E H |

We went because we miss the original in NY. Chris was the server and was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, nice, prompt but not rushed, and added to the experience. The food was tasty but not great. The flan was grocery store grade but acceptable. The atmosphere was consistent with the theme of the property and was amusing.

$5.00 for a soda refil!!!

By etexdiver |

Food was okay. I knew about the charge for chips and salsa, but a $5.00 charge for a fountain drink refill? Rip off. Also, the beef enchiladas are bland. Go elsewhere. The waitress was nice, but could have warned about the refills.

Solid average. Definitely not bad. Also nothing special.

By DebbieHatch |

Solid average. Not bad, also nothing special. I was skeptical about summer squash and broccolini in my shrimp fajitas. No need to worry. Both were a nice addition. Waitress was friendly. Food came quickly. Didn’t like the taste of the beans.

Gracias Gonzalez y Gonzalez and Josue!!

By CanadianNomad |

Aside from the unfriendly host the rest of the experience was phenomenal! Out waiter Josue was incredible! The meal was exceptional and we rated as one of the best Mexican food places we’ve eaten at. The guacamole was prepared right at our table by Josue and was the best we’ve ever had! We followed it up with shrimp and steak fajitas and they were delicious. I always judge places by their opening salsa and chips and they were great here setting the table for a great meal and experience! Fully recommend!

Great Mexican cuisine

By Josie, New Jersey |

Found this great Mexican restaurant while walking thru New York New York. The food was authentic Mexican, Fresh and delicious. I strongly suggest the honey chipotle wings for an appetizer. They were so good we had two servings. The enchiladas, steak tacos and chimichanga were all as delicious. The waitress was so sweet and accommodating. We are just said we found this on our last day. We will be back here on a return trip to Las Vegas for sure!

Plates were small but the food was tasty

By T T |

Food was fine. Drinks were fine, but very watered down. Service was very good, even though our waitress was covering an area with about 10 tables that were active. Very attentive consider the circumstances.

Tasty Tex Mex food

By Ros T |

The menu is full of the things you expect to see on.a Tex Mex menu, including a few veggie choices. We sat in one of the booths and enjoyed a serving of chips and dip (large and good value) followed by a main course each, both of a decent, but not too large size, well presented and pretty tasty. The menu has a good selection of draft and bottled beers and wine. Our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a good experience that, for Vegas, was not badly priced.

Photos added. The food has improved

By NitroDog |

Located at New York-New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. My wife and I dined for dinner without a reservation. We were seated within 20 minutes. She ordered the Nacho's. I had the Taco Salad. The food quality has improved since our last visit. The service was very good. I added many photos of our visit and will return again soon.

Nice option for Mexican that won't break your bank

By ScottRoby |

It is located in NY NY and it was a spontaneous decision to eat here. We were hungry and it did not disappoint. The burritos were big and everything tasted great. The service was friendly so we had all we needed. Was it the best Mexican food ever? No, but it was good and we had no complaints about it.

Fantastic Chicken Enchiladas

By Oilerman1000 |

My wife and I shared tableside guacamole and the Chicken Enchiladas. Living in Houston for the last few years has allowed us to sample good Mexican. We were extremely impressed with the guacamole, salsa and most importantly the Enchiladas. Fantastic sauce, tender chicken and great presentation. Service was poor but the food more than made up for it. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Great service, good food, prices comparable to in-casino restaurants.

By Laurie |

The staff at the bar was very attentive and friendly. The menu is pretty consistent with Mexican restaurants. The portions are large. The enchilada plate consists of three enchiladas, beans and rice. My husband and I shared a dinner and there was food left over. The chips and salsa were spendy-$7.95. We won’t order those again unless we’re in a group of 4 or more.

Mediocre

By Aggiegal19 |

The salsa tasted like water with no seasoning. The burrito was okay but lacked flavor. The margaritas were good! The enchiladas were pretty good.

Fantastic

By Papa T |

Waitress was awesome, food was incredible. Had enchiladas and nachos both were fabulous. Great margaritas as well. Very tasty

NYNY find

By Brad C |

Our favourite stop had closed since our last visit so we were directed to Gonzalez and it was a lucky find. Service was guick. Chips and Salsa were excellent. I ordered chicken and steak fajitas and it was delicious. Didn't even mind that the order came with shrimp instead of steak. Wife ordered Gonzalez nachos and claimed it was very good. Overall, a good experience even if it was pricey.

Another solid meal - trip #2

By Kim_F_CA |

Trip and review #2. I was here with BFF in Feb. and loved it so when my family wads looking for someplace to eat in NYNY I recommended this place. We sat in the front patio area where you can people watch while you eat. The table-side guacamole was a hit (again)! My mother ordered a taco salad without the shell, which was plenty of food and plenary of chicken. My sister and I shared the meat trio fajita plate (shrimp, chicken, and steak). Although it was $28, it was plenty of food for two people to share. Tons of chicken and steak and 4 large shrimp plus a boat-load of grilled veggies (poblano, green, red peppers, and onions). Mom & Sis each had a skinny margarita orver ice with Tajin-salt rim (35 calories). Server Liz was awesome. Another amazing meal, will be back!

Fajitas were on point!

By Jen T |

This is a must for anyone who loves great Mexican food. Fajitas were on point and arrived at the table sizzling. Margaritas were delicious and you have to get the table side guacamole. They make it right in front of you!

Cook taste issues?

By JD94102 |

Service was ok, our waiter was professional but not really friendly. The salsa in the chips and salsa was overly salty, also the rice was overly salty. enchiladas I had were also not the best. I wouldn't really recommend.

Decent food. Poor service.

By scuppercup |

Food is pretty good, however service is poor. Made to wait 15 mins outside before being shown to a table. When we got in, the restaurant was half empty. Why the wait? We were seated on a small cramped table. A booth was empty so we asked to move there. We were told it would take 15 minutes to clean and we would have to go and wait back outside???? $9 plus tax and tip for a bottle of Heineken ?????? Way overpriced. Hostess seemed like she couldn’t be bothered. Customers seemed like a bit of an inconvenience.

Limitations

By Sheila B |

I have food allergies both dairy and gluten but ethnic food generally provides me more options, especially Mexican. Unfortunately that was not the case here. Even the tortilla chips have gluten. The gluten free menu is subpar at best where the only meat you can have that doesn’t have gluten is beef. You really should work on that. When someone comes to a Mexican restaurant, the expectation is that some of the standards are available even with gluten and dairy free options e.g. fajitas and tacos and beef shouldn’t be the only meat available.

Dinner before the show

By Becky870 |

I went here for dinner before seeing Mad Apple at NYNY. I had the taco salad with chicken which was delicious but there were other items on the menu that I would have gotten if I was on the more hungry side. I also had a delicious espresso martini.

Nice Mexican place

By Thom Mandos |

Cozy place, loved the mexican music and vibe of the square. The staff at the front helped me quick. Got a table right away because i was alone, that was convenient. Service was quick as well and the food was very fast. It was very tasteful and a lot. Had the sizzling Fajita steak. I liked it a lot. Alcohol was expensive as everywhere in Vegas.

Poor Service

By john j |

We had to wait for the hostess to finish texting before she would even acknowledge we in front of her! She called another employee up to seat us. She meet us with an attitude and a half. After sitting down and having the menus tossed at us we decided enough was enough and left.

Very good meal

By Habscouple |

Great little restaurant located in New York New York. Dined here with friends. Great food, good atmosphere. If you like Mexican food I would recommend giving this place a shot. Prices are reasonable and portions large.

Nice place to eat in New York, New York hotel in Vegas

By William V |

Good and quick service, and the food was better than I expected in a tourist location. I had the enchilida and my wife had the taco salad.

Huge disappointment

By Dave C |

Ate here two years ago and it was excellent. Last May and July it felt like the place had lost its original charm and the food quality had declined somewhat. We went yesterday (March 16th) and it was very, very poor. The food (burrito and enchilada dishes were microwaved and very soon cool to the touch and they were both bland to say the least. The dishes had that sheen to then which one sees after microwaving food. The waitress, Lupita argued with me about this and heated the food for us. It proved futile because there was little taste. We’d never return.

Good service and tasty food.

By Lemonie |

Lovely restaurant and worth a visit. Food quick to be served and of good quality. Not huge portions which is nice as minimal waste.

Great, but limited Vegan Options

By CCap59 |

This place only has three vegan options but all are very good! The best is the sweet potato & poblano tacos! The guacamole made at your table was very good as well! What made it all worth it was the terrific service! Worth the trip!

Good meal

By Slinx2312 |

Plentiful food - particularly the nachos and chips appetisers. Food was tasty, beer was good and service prompt and efficient. Would recommend for a good Mexican meal.
