The wife and I had breakfast. I had been eating at the hotel's buffet for breakfast and decided to venture out. The food here was awesome. I recommend the grits with cheese. The staff was super friendly. Next time I'm in town I will definitely be having breakfast there again.

This restaurant is a neighborhood favorite, located in a small corner shopping center with an inadequate parking lot. It's only open for breakfast & lunch, and it's very popular--almost always crowded. The service is friendly & efficient, and the food is basic, down-home diner/coffee shop fare. Breakfasts are especially good, with a variety of egg dishes, waffles & pancakes to choose from. Lunches also provide a wide range of options, from soups & salads to burgers, sandwiches & lunch platters. The prices are reasonable, but be prepared to wait for a table (and for a parking place)!

Everything about this place is friggin great!!!! The staff, the food, that jar of fresh jelly....gosh damn!!! This place alone was worth my 6 hr flight. I can't say enough about the experience and the pleasure received here.

Incredibly fast service and the food was good. We went there for breakfast before our tour at Warner Brothers. My husband doesn't like breakfast and was able to order a burger! The staff were friendly. Would go back again.

If you plan going to Universal Studios don’t miss having breakfast here. Everything was great, and the price very good. Will definitely go back.

We went for breakfast and the menu is pretty standard. The food, however, is not. It was exceptional. The banana pancakes were amazing. Everyone else was thrilled with their various choices as well.

Close to our hotel, so we stopped here for breakfast. Portions are hearty. Omelets were large with adequate filling and cooked just right. Oatmeal looked like 3 portions in the bowl. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommended for breakfast.

Service was super friendly and fast, but I felt the food was average. I wasn't alone; my husband and parents all agreed.

You never want to go to a theme park hungry. You will spend a bazillion dollars eating in a park. Good Neighbor is close enough to Universal Studios that it is worth the stop prior to the park. We were easily able to walk there (there is a substantial hill, though) from the Hilton before going to the park for the day. The service was nice enough. We were there on a pretty empty Monday morning. I think that the potatoes were frozen, but everything was served hot. I admit I have been very spoiled with delicious breakfast options in my town. So, I would save food-wise, it's an average stop. But, definitely worth a visit before a day of fun at Universal.

I've been coming to Good Neighbor for 18 years. There isn't a more welcoming, delicious spot for breakfast or lunch around, period. No glitz or glamour, just an incredible team, serving great food all day every day. Family owned and operated, it's always such a treat to pop by for a meal. LOVE YOU GOOD NEIGHBOR!!!

At 7.30am I am sometimes a little fragile but the friendly smile and greeting as we entered cheered me up immediately. A clean cared for establishment that offers a great choice menu and quick service. I always think that wherever the local cops eat means its good food and in this instant it was more than good. There was adequate parking though I am not sure it would be so easy later in the day. But I will eat there again well done guys.

We had breakfast twice at this nice, homespun, neighborhood restaurant. The service was great and the food excellent. It isn't much to look at and has a very small parking lot but it really hits the spot. The prices are reasonable and the food is ordinary---by that I mean it is the kind of food you have at home: poached eggs, oatmeal, bacon, toast, fruit. I would go back to this restaurant every time I could. Too bad I don't live in LA.

Friendly family runs the place. Breakfasts are good. Service is very good. Prices are reasonable. I would recommend for breakfast.

We initially had to ask for a server to come to our table to take our order. There were 3 women hanging at hostess area whom I asked to send our server over. Once our order was taken, very fast service and they were attentive for the rest of our visit. You can get a muffin instead of toast and it was served warm. Very delicious. The cottage fries are like a thick ruffled potato chip which my kids were not crazy about. They are used to hash browns or home fries so if you have a picky eater, I would get one of the different sides. My daughter and I had the fruit cup which was excellent. We were not impressed with the omelets as it was just whatever you wanted in it thrown in between the eggs. Reminds me of the omelets I get in my hospital cafeteria at work. Very thin egg and then bacon, tomato, and cheese just placed inside the folded over egg, not cooked with the eggs. My son got a breakfast burrito which was good. Not sure about the other items on the menu however we would not get an omelet again. Not sure if we would return if in the area.

We were in town and looked on here for places to eat breakfast. This place had good reviews so decided to make a stop. Great decision!! They were super friendly and accommodating of our large group. Sat almost right away. They have a big variety for all ages and taste. Their serving sizes are big too! The coffee was so good too! I will def be back next time I am in town.

The menu is quite extensive. Our party of 6 had turned over eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, pancakes, hash-browns, home fries and toast and everything was very good and hot. Service is very friendly and done in no time at all. Will go back.

We were staying at the nearby Hilton but didn't want to eat typical hotel food. Someone suggested Good Neighbor and we are glad they did. The whole family ordered breakfast and no complaints, the portions were large, service was excellent and the food was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast for anyone going to Universal Studios and avoiding the high priced chain restaurants at City Walk.

Nearby and quick. Coffee was good and hot...and constantly being refilled. Also has the "Good Neighborista" for take out smoothies and coffe.

Great breakfast, friendly atmosphere. Big hit with the police around the area! Good start to the day if you're heading to Universal

The hotel directed us to this little café for breakfast and I am so glad that they did! The wait staff and hostess took excellent care of us and the food was delicious!

I travel to the area every once in a while and generally have to settle for breakfast without having to spend a lot of time in traffic. I came across this place while searching for places to eat from my hotel room. It was a great find. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The food is great. It's an established, not fancy, sort of traditional breakfast lunch place that's been there since the early 70's. Highly recommended if you want a good breakfast at at reasonable price.

Wife and I went there for breakfast. Great food. And service was awesome. Love Lillie local diners like this. We got and omelet. So good. Right down the street from universal studios. Parking a little tight, but it's LA. Go there.

We came here for breakfast while visiting Hollywood from NJ. The experience was so great that we came back all three mornings we were in the area. The food was great and the service was fast and very friendly. Loved this place!

While in LA, we wanted to try a favorite of locals. We found it at "Good Neighbor". Friendly service; easy street parking; delicious food; reasonable prices. We even spotted a celebrity while eating there. Did not disappoint in any way!

This restaurant lives up to its name! How refreshing to dine in a place that is not overrun with the hipster vibe. Don't get me wrong, that movement has its place but, it's nice to feel that the movement can respect and accept tradition. Shauna and her assistants provided excellent service and the food is delicious and just the right proportions. Apologies for the half eaten omelet but, baby was hungry lol. A great stop when visiting Los Angeles but, an even better local business to visit once a week and support. Keep up the great work. PS Love the homage to Marilyn Monroe

This is our breakfast place when visiting the area. Service always friendly and efficient. Food is fresh and menu has a huge selection.

Loved this place. Awesome food, great variety, great service. Not too rushed, not too slow. One of the best omelets I've ever had.

Searched on TripAdvisor for a local option and found this place. Really good value and fresh cooked breakfast frequented by locals too. I recommend the Good Neighbor breakfast special @ $9.45. Parking right outside but I think this will get busy after 9am

This is an old family place. Owners came over to say hello, as a member of our party was a regular. Selection is good. Not as many creative items as I would like, but you can make your own omelets. Food was very good. Portions are large. Pancakes were a big hit.

Delicious food, great service! Definitely pricey for a breakfast for 4 ($100) but a great overall experience. Conveniently located near Universal Studios hotels and no problem finding parking...a real plus in LA!

30 min wait, it was Sunday though. All employees smiled and fast paced. Food was great and average prices.

Good, all American breakfast spot but not too greasy! Staff super friendly! Would eat there again if in town!!!!

Conveniently located near Universal City, this little restaurant is a gem. Service is always friendly and helpful, and the food is reliable good time after time. The salads are huge...and they are happy to make alterations in ingredients if you have special needs or tastes.

The restaurant is about 1/2 mile from the Sheraton. The food was pretty good to very good depending on what you ordered. But the best part was the pricing. It was very reasonable and quite filling. We ate breakfast there every day.

I moved away from the area 7 years ago after coming here for years. They have the best breakfast, ever! The owners treat people like family, food is fresh. I miss coming here but after my visit it’s worth the drive. Thank you so much, Rick and Betty.!

We have been frequenting this place off and on for the past 20 years. We recently we back two times, once during the summer and once last week. The food is very expensive and overpriced about $15-17 per dish. The potatoes they use are just the frozen brand from the supermarket isle. Coffee is horrible. The owners were always very nice but with the cost of running small busimess and only open during breakfast and lunch hurts the profits. But there are many other places to have a fine breakfast that don’t break the bank. It’s sad just to see a nice place go downhill. Won’t be returning again.

We came here for breakfast one morning while staying at the Hilton Universal City. It was good. Service was very good and the food was good as well. Recommend trying.

I've been here quite a few times and the food here is just great. It's not a chain or your typical restaurant. The service is great and it's right in the heart of Studio City, CA. When I go here, I usually get the avocado tuna wrap which is so healthy and delicious. They have a variety of items on the menu, all of which I've enjoyed. Breakfast or lunch...it's a good catch!

One of my friend lives nearby in Hollywood Hills, and he is regular here, and I came here at least 10 times last 8 years. I usually order Pastrami &Reuben Sandwich, or Patty Melt Sandwich, with Rye Bread Toasted, and their foods always tastes great and healthy. ( Never greasy at all!) Potato Salad is also recommendable side for sandwiches, and servers are polite, and fast service. Prices of all menu items are reasonable, for this location. Only one problem is parking is not ample, and very narrow. But it is worth coming here for breakfast.

We came here 3 times and it's always tasty . Friendly staff , consistent quality of food. Best muffin ever and the omelets choices are limitless .

We (family of four) stayed at the nearby Beverly Garland Holiday Inn while visiting Universal etc, The on site eating facilities didn't look great and received poor reviews on TA whereas The Good Neighbours Restaurant was highly recommended . Once again the TA reviews came up trumps ,the title says it all,Great Fresh Food at reasonable prices with friendly smiling staff-exactly what you want !

We were so excited to find this nice little breakfast place so close to our hotel. The staff were so wonderful along with the service and our food was so much better than a national chain.

A typical American diner style restaurant with home style food and service. Generous portions and very reasonable cafe lattes. The home fries are amazing!

Our family was traveling in Southern California and spent a couple of days in Los Angeles. We stopped one morning for breakfast and decided there was no reason to try anywhere else. We ate breakfast there both mornings in the area. The staff is very friendly, and the food is fast. The eggs, omelets, pancakes, and waffles are excellent. Prices are reasonable. A great quaint place for a breakfast.

We wanted something fast and good. This is a Denny's style diner with a friendly staff and great food. We would return. Has an attached coffee side.

We visited the Good Neighbors Restaurant on a trip to LA after reading the positive reviews on tripadviser and were so glad we did! What a wonderful little place! We had breakfast here twice and found the service and food excellent both times. Portions are big (but we are from the UK so all portions seemed bigger in America) and prices very reasonable. I would recommend the fresh OJ and banana pancakes – yum!

Pastrami sandwhich was amazing. Friendly service and great refills on coffee. Parking is free and on street with a meter

Fast friendly service. Tasty food. Pretty standard diner fare other than a great breakfast burrito. Good pancakes and omelets. We stayed at the Hilton Universal and this was WAY better than eating at the hotel.

I was dropping my kids off to Universal Studios early in the morning but wanted to feed them a good breakfast so they wouldn't be tempted with junk food in the park. I noticed this place as we were filling up for gas across the street. We came in and were seated immediately. The server came over and asked for our drink orders while we looked at the menus. We ordered our food when our drinks came. The orders came quickly and correctly. The food choices are basically standard breakfast items. We orded and the food was good and my son really enjoyed the pancakes. I would have to recommend this place to anyone about to go into Universal Studios.

We recently visited Universal Studios CA and stayed at the Sheraton Universal. We asked the concierge what was in the area to get breakfast. They recommended Good Neighbor. The food was excellent! Service was great! Reasonable prices. Family owned & they were very friendly! Highly recommend & will definitely come back!

We had breakfast twice during our 4 day stay. The food was excellent. Great down home cooking with guinuine service! My kids hate eating out but neither of them complained and both ate well each visit. Not much to look at from outside but such a pleasant surprise when you go in. Clean friendly yummy and reasonably priced. See celebrity photos on the walls. The family still owned and operates this little gem. I believe the young lady said for 40 years now. 3 rd generation working there now.

We had breakfast here instead of paying $25 a head for breakfast at the hotel. The food was good the service was great!!

I was looking for the famous all American breakfast and this place did not disappoint. The menu is extensive and food is fresh and quickly prepared. The service is great. We had breakfast here both days we were I'm LA. We just loved it.

Great hole in the wall. Great food. Great service! Will definitely be back!!

I work nearby this restaurant for about 5 years and had been hearing how great it is. I ordered the chicken pita sandwich with light dressing. Instead of adding the wrong amount of dressing, they served the dressing on side, which makes perfect sense. The sandwich was so large and filling, I made 2 meals out of it. It was light and refreshing. Loved it. I'll come back again.

Had gone with a large party and we tried this restaurant based on reviews, I must say the service and the food were above my expectations. So glad we had an amazing start to our day. We will return!

Great restaurant, excellent service, great food and friendly staff. Close to Universal Studios and reasonable prices for California.

I was attending a seminar in Studio City, CA and Good Neighbor came up on our search for a local breakfast restaurant. My husband and I arrived and got seated immediately. The menu is comprehensive and the wait staff accommodating. We were in and out quickly and I got to my class without delay. We liked this place so much we returned the next morning.

The GoodNeighbor is such a special spot for breakfast and lunch. Located in a tiny corner shopping center, with parking right in front, the simple interior with wooden chairs and old school kitchen tables is almost always filled with casually dressed locals. It's a family spot. The walls are decorated with autographed photos of the celebrity regulars. The pleasant server is at your side the moment you sit down, and good coffee with juice are delivered promptly. Hint: the small juice is huge. The menu offers outstanding three egg omelettes, their combination of fillings or your own,and everything comes with sliced tomatoes or fresh fruit. Huge, fluffy pancakes, waffles, French Toast, creamed chicken, sausage, bacon, ham, and eggs prepared any way you wish.. If sandwiches are more your taste..the variety is staggering. . Good Neighbor is walking distance to Universal Studios park.. It is worth the stop.

Located right across the 101 freeway from Universal Studio this place is awasome! The atmosphere is off the charts great! Everyone is very friendly. Wife and my coffee cup were never empty. Food came out really quick and the food was awasome! Highly recommend!

The Skinny: Parking - small lot or street if you can find it Decor - mom and pop Service - friendly Food - simple and delicious After spending hours at the crowded CatCon, we were looking for a place to have a late lunch. Our friend suggested Good Neighbor and we went to check it out. They have a lot of 2 top tables so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a 4 top to clear. The menu is quite extensive and there will be something for everyone. We ordered: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup - very tasty homemade soup, grilled to perfection cheese sandwich (choose your cheese and bread flavors) BLT w/ Avocado - mom devoured her sandwich and couldn't stop eating the fries despite the fact that she was full! Our server was great, she knew we didn't have much time so everything came out fast. Would totally come here again.

The place is very interesting to visit with many signed pictures of celebrities that have visited. The decor is worth looking at. Perhaps their breakfast is the draw. The sandwiches we had were good with plenty of meat but lacked in flavor.

As a business traveller who has been to Los Angeles four times in 2012, I haven't found a better breakfast in town. The food is the greatest value I have found anywhere in the world. Everything is freshly cooked to order from the best ingredients and every staff-member is friendly, welcoming and attentive. I am ashamed to say that I haven't tasted very much on the menu - I just love the corned beef hash with eggs sunny-side up with a side of link sausage and always turn to that after looking at the extensive range. There is only one problem - every dish that comes out looks so appetizing - and look longingly until my choice arrives!!

The food here was great and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Obviously a local favorite. Loved the chorizo.

Located near universal studios. Great breakfast place. Not greasy. Short stack of pancakes will not leave you hungry. Had croissant egg sandwich which was delicious. Would definitely recommend to stop by. So much more satisfying than the continental breakfasts offered at hotels.

Great restaurant near Universal Studios! Large portions, great variety, terrific service and well priced! Stop here before you go to the park!!!

We wanted to give the children an authentic American breakfast on the first day of our holiday - the Good Neighbour did not disappoint! Great eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast. So good we went back the following day! We would love somewhere like this in our neighbourhood back home in the UK.

This was out second time there, the first time was for breakfast, it was very good! Prices were reasonable. Our second time we stopped for lunch we had the tuna melt, that was a great choice ! Service was great will go again!

Best breakfast, great service, good prices. Great taste of the local scene.

We planned on spending the day at Unv Studios, wanted to get brunch before we went in because as we know how expense EVERYTHING at Unv Studios is. We were looking for a place where we could have a varied menu. I wanted brunch, wife wanted breakfast and son wanted lunch. Can’t go wrong here. Wasn’t super busy, staff was very friendly. We were seated immediately but it did take a little while to order after placed. The food was really good, we opted for brunch; omelets, and big stack. When we travel to Universal City we typically stay at one of the two hotels and include breakfast, but the food here was really good. A little pricy but considering its close proximity to Unv Studios. No brainer, we enjoyed the food, closeness to Unv Studios, and the comfort of being able to take our time to enjoy the food. We will be back!!

I sometimes come here on my way to Hollywood. The food is always consistent and service is good. If it's busy, expect to wait up to 20 minutes but its worth it more or less. Everything on the menu seems good. I've only been here for breakfast though. No complaints.

We found Good Neighbor through reviews and it was a great choice. It was mid-morning on a Tuesday and the restaurant was not too crowded. They serve breakfast and lunch all day, so we were not too late to get a full breakfast. We were seated right away and our server was prompt and attentive. My husband chose the Your Good Neighbor Special! Breakfast Combination (10.95) with the 3 pieces of French toast served with 2 sausages or bacon and 2 eggs any style. I loved the Eggs ala Fisdale (11.95) Eggs Benedict - 2 poached eggs (I chose the ham) on a grilled English muffin, topped with cheddar cheese sauce and served with cottage fries. Everything was delicious!

When my family stayed in Los Angeles for a couple of days, we went to Good Neighbor for breakfast and we were all happy and satisfied with our visit. As a result, we decided to come here the next day. Although what happened was we asked for more toast to finish our breakfast, and by the time the toast came, the egg was cold so there was no point in eating it anymore. Since we had to wait for more than 15 minutes for just one piece of toast, we decided not to tip. We aren't from the US by the way, so we aren't aware of how serious tipping is. What happened next was crazy... the lady (I assume the owner of the place) knocked on our car window before we could leave and asked why we didn't tip. When we explained to her why, she said that we ate all of our food and that they did not ignore us for waiting, which was a shock to us. We tipped the day before because we had a good experience, and now we didn't, so what? That's how customer service works... One extra piece of toast put on the grill/pan should take a few minutes, even on a busy day.. right? The ironic part of this all was that the wifi password for this place was "goodtips" and IT DIDN'T WORK. My advice is, tip here or they're gonna knock on your car windows haunting you for undeserved money

Wished we found this sooner rather than the last day, but glad we found it none the less. Great atmosphere and food. Local hotspot for sure! Owners very friendly. Highly recommend!!!

One of the best breakfast places.

We absolutely loved this place! I am a vegan and was well catered for and everyone else in our party enjoyed a variety of all-American breakfast goodies. We went for breakfast three times during our stay in the city and found the staff to be incredibly warm and welcoming. We started to feel like old friends. It was also incredibly good value and bright and clean. I would highly recommend it!

A fantastic find! Discovered this lovely brunch restaurant enroute Palm Springs. It's a great place. The ambience is friendly and cosy. The food is homey and delicious. Portions are rather big for Asians so those who don't have big appetites may want to consider sharing. We didn't and couldn't finish our food. I had the Tarragon Chicken which came with a very tasty split pea soup and yummy garlic bread! The mister had banana pancakes. Overall, very satisfied. Happy bellies, happy minds.

This was a good breakfast served superfast. Within five minutes of my order. Very good Omelette , with actual fresh grilled vegetables ,not too much cheese or butter, and some fruit. also have lots of vegetarian options, and vegetarian sausage. Coffee was OK. Not great. Only thing not perfect was the fruit, which was obviously from yesterday. excellent service. Definitely come here for breakfast before universal studios.

Forgetting to take a picture is my testament to how good it looked when I got my plate! Cheers to one of the best breakfast spots I've ever been to in LA, and that's a lot to say! This place feel and tastes like home! Best place to go if you're on your way to Universal Studios as well, it's about a mile away!

we got great food here, service was efficent and friendly. Would definitely return here, Even though it was busy there was no rush to get you out the door. Owners were going around chatting away and were very polite, Kevin was really good at his job and friendly.

We ate here before visiting Universal for the day. Arrived before the doors opened, fast service, and great food for a fun filled day. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Nice place to have breakfast, lovely service, very welcoming and typical American food. Would go again :)

We stopped at this local diner based on reviews and we were not disappointed. Fantastic breakfast options and meal size was hardy. This diner has a great hometown feel. Waitress was always checking on us to see if we needed more coffee or juice. The breakfast burrito was amazing, one of the best ever had. The couple at the register were so friendly. Wish we lived near by to visit more often, but it will be on our list next time we are in the area!

Look up breakfast in the dictionary to find Good Neighbor because they do a perfect breakfast. It doesn't matter what you order they will make it. Go early or late because during peak breakfast there is usually a short wait.

We were looking for a breakfast option before Universal Studios opened and ended up finding this great place! Their breakfast selection is great and they even offer lunch options for breakfast. We had the French Toast (1/2 order was enough for our 13 yo), I had a GREAT Pastrami sandwich and my husband had a mushroom and cheese omelet. The price is right and portions are very generous. Loved it!

I’m from the UK they made me feel so welcome the service was swift but always with a genuine smile Nice to see it’s still going 20 years after. First went there I hope they are going in another 20 years The good is varied and delicious

This longtime neighbourhood restaurant is a solid performer that you can count on everyday to deliver a tasty food experience. Always good quality, friendly and very attentive wait staff. Lots of Universal folks hereabouts and the occasional celebratory visitor always make for a fun and lively experience.

Nice home cooked breakfast. Good, fast and fresh food . Well thought out California menu. Friendly staff. Thank you we will be back.

Although sometimes there is a wait on Saturdays and Sundays it is worth it to us to read until a table is ready. A nice variety of breakfast and lunch choices and priced reasonably. Good employees.

The food taste fresh and the services were fast. The location was convenient for where we were staying at.

Doing the Mother’s Day weekend for mom and stumbled upon this little gem. They were busy when we got there but we were seated pretty quickly. Service was great. Megan was friendly comedic and always had a smile on her face no mater how often I asked her for something. The food was good. I had the Tri Tip and Eggs and mother had made her way omelet. The overall experience was great would highly recommend this place to anyone of my traveling friends.

We stopped in for a late breakfast. Everything we ordered was wonderful! The pancakes were huge and delicious! My daughter had a ham sandwich and it was good as well. Great service in a nice, clean place! Very friendly staff!

I stop in here every trip to North Hollywood. Great omelets and sides, wonderful wait staff, and a small parking lot. Plan on being hungry, the portions are generous.

So my family and I were looking for a place that was authentic and not too expensive. We were staying at the Hilton hotel and of course ... breakfast there was completely over priced. We found good neighbor on tripadvisor and were not disappointed !!! Lovely food at a good price - was busy too which always shows a place is goooooood.

Excellent food and service very friendly. Great choice of food. Parking out front, came here twice on our holiday and would definitely recommend

A full breakfast menu of choices. French toast is fabulous as part of breakfast special, with bacon and choice of eggs. Friendly servers with plenty of coffee, light or heavy options give diet folks and the rest of us plenty to choose from on the menu.

After a longer night in Hollywood, we arose the next morning quite hungry. The five of us did the usual deliberation when the suggestion of Good Neighbor ended it - and off to Good Neighbor we went. One step through the door and we knew we'd made the right decision: clean, well-lighted, appropriately decorated for the studio scene, a table full of local newspapers, the hostess asked us to wait a minute and she meant it. In less than a minute we were seated at a spotlessly clean table (none of that sticky restaurant stuff) with a cheerful server pouring us coffee. Good Neighbor is strictly breakfast and lunch. Its food is delicious. Each of us had a different dish and all were enjoyed. Polish sausage and eggs, fresh spinach omelet, corned beef hash and eggs, croissant egg and spinach sandwich and for the previous night's performer, a pastrami sandwich. The menu is huge, the portions are very generous, and the price is standard NoHo $8-9 per entree. The service is outstanding and there's no pressure to exit because there's so much room; room and light enough to read the paper at your table! Two more points: off street parking and no reservations. We were there about 9:30 a.m. and had no trouble parking and no waiting for our table for 5. Please give it a try. We will be back and look forward to trying the lunch menu. Thank you, Good Neighbor.

This restaurant is actually in Studio City - if trying to find it's listing. We actually chose this place based on reviews and it's close proximity to Warner Brothers Studios. (The drive from the restaurant to the studios was approximately 5-10 minutes.) The food was plenty and delicious. Husband and daughter both had the Chicken Tarragon omelet which sounded like an interesting breakfast/lunch combo. They both loved the flavors. The rest of the group had the breakfast specials and bacon & eggs combo. We were looking for a place that would fill us up and not break the bank so we could enjoy our studio tour. This little restaurant hit the mark!

We enjoyed our breakfast very much. The pancakes were delicious as well as the cottage potatoes. The service was very friendly. It was very close to our hotel by Universal Studios.

A little gem of a place! Well located, easy to get to from our hotel. The full stack pancakes were 3 plate sized pancakes and were very tasty - our bottomless pit of a child couldn’t finish even 1/2! The French toast was cooked nicely and the breakfast burrito was by far the winner of the day. All meals were filling and delicious. The juice portions were generous and the coffee was fresh and readily topped up. We didn’t wait long for our meals either. Service could not be faulted at all - all staff were friendly and helpful!! If you’re in the area for Universal Studio then I suggest going here for the 7am open and you’ll still have enough time to get to the studio shuttle.

I live in the area and hands down this is one of the best breakfast spots in Los Angeles. They are open for breakfast and lunch and you can't go wrong coming here for either meal. The food is deliciously fresh, the service outstanding and prices very reasonable. I love they serve their coffee hot - so often after putting milk in your coffee it quickly becomes lukewarm - not at Good Neighbor! So glad they are close by so I can keep returning for their wonderful meals and hospitality.

The concierge at the Universal Studios Hilton recommended this place. Best breakfast I have had in a long time. It is a local place with specials in chalk on a board. The three of us tried pancakes, the breakfast burrito and eggs. Everything was perfect. No 1/2 & 1/2 on the table, but one word to the staff and it appeared, as if by magic. Parking lot is tight - don't try and park a large SUV!

You know reviews differ....this is the second time I have eaten at this nice neighborhood breakfast place. The staff is attentive, and very friendly. The food both times was in my humble opinion just breakfast food. I will eat here again though. Maybe I'll try lunch next time. 😐

The food was good but too expensive. The price of our meal was doubled than the price back at home and the food was just as good.

My wife and I ate at Good Neighbor twice during a visit to LA. It has a nice quiet family atmosphere. All the staff provided very good service. When we asked for fruit instead of potatoes, our waiter offered to give us a bowl of berries (strawberries and blueberries). They gladly brought me hot water (I bring my own organic decaf instant coffee). We had eggs over easy the first day and shared an omelette the second. Both were very good. I highly recommend Good Neighbor if you want a great breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere.

After a recommendation from my hotel, I came here two mornings in a row for breakfast. The service was fast and all of the staff were happy and helpful. The food was delicious (even if it was too big for me to finish!), and I'm sad I live on the other side of the world and this can't be my local! Definitely stop by if you're in the area!

We visited twice in three days for breakfast and found the whole staff very attentive efficient and friendly...... We had full American breakfast and juice with teas after and found all to be great in quantity and quality served fast and efficiently with friendly polite waiters . It was a truly great experience both times.....

Good breakfast omelets, pancakes were enjoyed by everyone. We got here before opening (7AM) so no trouble finding a parking place. You can always tell a good restaurant if the police are eating there and a half dozen of LA's finest were there.

Small little place but with a lot of character. We ate breakfast twice here on our recent trip. Decent prices and one of the best omelets I've ever had (Denver with American cheese).

We love this place. It's so mellow and relaxed but obviously locally loved to the extent that there's always plenty of business. On the three occasions we've been to the restaurant, staff has been just as nice as you could possibly hope for. The selection of breakfast food is not voluminous, but it's a full menu ... and everything was delish. And the really nice thing? The food wasn't LA-crazy-expensive. Yeah. It's just a nice little restaurant in the middle of La La Land. When we're studio tour-hopping, we always start our day here.

My favorite spot for breakfast in la. Good service good food. Always have good tasty breakfast specials. Get there early it gets packed.

I loved the place. Staff were super friendly. Banana pancakes are out of this world. I really recomend it.

After a week of travelling in southern California this breakfast was great for a last day on vacation! It was delicious but the portions are large and maybe enough for 2 per dish. My daughter got the pancakes and she loved it. I highly recommend it for a nice meal while visiting universal city.

We had a lovely breakfast at Good Neighbor, my husband found this by searching for breakfast places we could walk to from our hotel near Universal Studios, as we wanted to eat at a family local restaurant. The breakfast was great, all cooked to order and so much choice on the menu, and the staff were friendly.

Good food but nothing extraordinary on the menu.

Had our first meal in LA here (breakfast) and I wasn’t disappointed! Good amount of food in each order and nice coffee as well as lovely, friendly staff for so early in the morning (we got there around 7). My partner said the pancakes were delicious (blueberry) and they packed my granola out with so much yoghurt and fresh strawberry that I couldn’t finish my bowl!

We were on the run to get a fast breakfast , the menu is complicated for a breakfast location , the staff is friendly , the food is ok , little pricy for the food .

Solid local breakfast haunt.

This place is open from 7am - 3pm. You can craft your own omelette or choose one of theirs. I opted for the Chicken Tarragon. I chose a side of Cottage Fries. They also offer you toast or English muffin. I saw a neighbor, munching down strawberry pancakes. They serve breakfast all day, but they also make some cool sandwiches and burgers, including a meatless one, called a Garden Burger. I looked at the carrot cake (a three layer cake with cream cheese filling)... it looked yummy, but I was already full. Maybe next time. It's only $4.95. There are photos of Old Hollywood stars all over, although the place has only been open since 1972. Friendly service.

I liked that the restaurant is just a few minutes from the Hilton Universal. Good prices and Good Food. If you love banana pudding, you'll love the banana pancakes. i thought they were delicious. My daughter had the breakfast sandwich and she thought it was good. The portions were amble. Staff were friendly and you are greeted with a smile when you enter the restaurant. The first day we went, it was crowded, we waited about 10 mins for a table to open up. The second day we went, it wasn't crowded, we were seated right away. The only thing, parking is scarce, if you can't fit in the common parking lot of about 20 spaces, then you'll have to park on a residential street. Good luck with finding parking.

It is a regular restaurant. The food is good, but doesn't worth the price. If you are turist go somewhere else. You can get better deal for your money and more interesting experience.

The Good Neighbor is one of those neighborhood places that you almost don't want to too many people about because you want to keep it for yourself -- but it's too good to do that! We've been coming here for weekend breakfasts for the past 15 years, and the food is consistently worth waking up for. My favorite is eggs scrambled up with ham with a side of their divine home fries with peppers and onions. My husband always orders their tri-tip fajita omelette (except for the times he goes for the short stack of buttermilk pancakes). Bette and Rick are the nicest owners you'll find anywhere, always checking in to make sure you're enjoying your breakfast. The restaurant only serves breakfast and lunch (I can vouch for their burgers and tuna salad). Bring your newspaper and settle in for a relaxing breakfast.

Enjoyed a very nice breakfast and everyone was friendly. I was looking for a place to eat outside of the park, and this was it.

Very local feel, delicious food, friendly and fast service. I wanted to get everything on the menu! The breakfast was fantastic! I'm definitely coming back when I get back to the west coast.

Lovely staff, great food all at a reasonable price. We went a couple of times while staying at the Universal Hilton, which served a very pretentious breakfast for a stupid amount of money.

We were in desperate need of a great meal and this place really hit the spot. We were nearing our 9th day of travel and tired of eating mediocre food, and then here comes this place out of nowhere & it was amazing! The outside of the building does not do the interior justice. There's plenty of room for large parties (we had 8 on a Saturday morning and were sat within 10 minutes). There's a small barista area where you can order specialty coffees if you wish, I had an iced mocha and it was great. But the menu seems to cover all the bases. You can order lunch or breakfast items, gluten free, vegan friendly, and all the other specialty diets would have no problem finding an item on the menu. Everything on the menu was very affordable, Our family of 8, all had a meal and beverage (some had specialty coffees and extra sides of bacon) all ate for $110+tip. My burger was wonderful. The rest of the family had breakfast and loved what they ordered. Everyone kept saying how good their food was My mother in law said the scrambled eggs were the best she has ever had. My husband had a breakfast croissant that was huge! My son had chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Everything was just great and much needed! The service was stellar. With 8 of us, not a drink went dry. Conversation and help with directions were much appreciated also.

Our last day in So Cal, we slept in late, so arrived about 11 am. My husband had read reviews and decided this was the place. Had to circle once to get our spot to park, but it wasn't difficult. Walked in and was immediately greeted and sat. They were busy, but they kept tables moving, eithout rushing anyone. Coffee was wonderful and cups were kept full. Now for the food. My huband orderd the ham and eggs, over medium with the cottage fries (served with peppers & onions) and sourdough toast. Ham slice was a very good size. I ordered the Good Neighbor Combination, my choices, eggs, over medium, sausage patties, pancakes. Plenty of food, couldn't finish all the pancakes. And did it hit the spot. The breakfast memu is extensive, whatever you want, it's proabably on there. And, as advertised, Home style served with a smile. It was a great way to end our stay and start start our travels.

I didn't want to pay $15 for french toast at the hotel, so we came here and found it for $5.95! We had pancakes instead, and also an order of the "eggs alla fisdale" (eggs benedict with spinach instead of ham, your choice) and a cheddar sauce. I skipped the cheddar sauce because I prefer hot sauce, but aside from that everyone was happy with their food. The double-size latte is a generous 8 oz glass, so that was perfect for mama before heading to Universal Studios for several hours. The food tastes fresh and no frills, just the kind of breakfast I look for when I'm with kids. I would absolutely recommend to families and skip the frills and the overpriced food at the hotels that tastes about the same (if what you're having are eggs, pancakes, or french toast--which was what we wanted)! Would definitely come again!

Great service with indoor or outdoor seating. They have excellent breakfast options and dessert. They have an adjoining take out place too in the same complex as poquitos mas Mexican restaurant. Parking may be tough but if you come at the right time you will find one. The omelette with the toast and potatoes are healthy and tasted flavorful with lots of veggies. The pancake was good but became a bit rubbery when cold and hence the 4 star ( it.was good though). Service was excellent where they always filled out waters and made us air really promptly. Have a good affordable breakfast here and head to universal studios for the day.

if you stay in the universal studios area this is a must visit for breakfast ! Everything about this great diner is first class SERVICE WITH A SMILE EXCELLENT CHOICES OF FOOD EVERYTHING YOU COULD WISH FOR IN FIRST CLASS place nothing is too much trouble and such friendly staff ! Very traditional GOOD MANNERS from everyone and will return soon....... Very

We had a comfortable lunch of burgers, omelette and toasted cheese sandwich. Service was good and food came promptly.

Portions were large and prices super reasonable. Staff friendly and efficient. Great place to get breakfast before going to Universal or touring for the day. I had the combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, and 2 blueberry pancakes with the most fresh berries I've ever seen in pancakes. Super yummy!

Wonderful little place for breakfast if you want to avoid the generic overpriced universal offerings. So glad we stopped, delicious pancakes and other breakfast offerings. We were worried being so close to universal (about a mile) that we might struggle to get an Uber/lyft for the last little bit - we needed have, got a ride in two minutes. Full of locals and a couple of local cops - always eat where the local cops do, sure sign of good things!

This is really a good restaurant not far at all from the Universal Studios. I have been here twice before going to the Studios and I haven't been disappointed at all. The service was good and the food was very excellent.

So friendly! Husband and son loved the green smoothies. If you ask you can order banana AND chocolate chip pancakes. We ate there 4 times out of our 5 day trip. I would say definitely go there!

This is really a remarkable place. If you tire of all the chains, drop by here and enjoy excellent food at a "Mom & Pop" type business. Prices are very reasonable, the food is great, the service is great. I can't think of anything to complain about.

This is a must go restaurant for us whenever we are in the area and they never fail. Food and service is top notch. We ordered 4 different breakfast entrees and everything was good. They really are good neighbors!

Near Universal Studios The food was very good The servise is great we very happy . Delicious pancakes and ather breakfast offering

Friendly service and a full breakfast. Has parking in front . They only do breakfast and lunch. Terrific corned beef hash. The home fries not worth the calories

It's a good place for breakfast with a friendly staff and a neighborhood feel. The food didn't blow me away but it had a cozy atmosphere and the staff behaved in a way as if they don't deal with tourists all the time. They seemed genuine and looked you in the face when they spoke to you.

We came here on a Sunday morning around 11:30 am, which we understood to be a peak hour for this place. None the less, we decided to stay for the 30-minute wait before we could get seated. The hardest part was finding parking - we had to park on the street because getting in and out of that tiny parking lot was like playing jenga with cars. Good thing the parking meters on the street are free on Sunday mornings. We found a good variety of items in the menu, to satisfy the varied tastes in our group. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Everything was delicious, nothing that's too exotic since it's a classic breakfast place, but the food tasted fresh and satisfying. We will definitely come here again next time we're in the area (perhaps come a bit earlier next time before the crowds pour in).

My husband and I ate here before heading to Universal Studios and we were so glad we did! No wait, super friendly staff, fast service, excellent food, and very well priced! We split the Denver omelette, fruit, and coffee for $22! You cannot beat that; especially when our Starbucks breakfast the previous day inside the park was $23 for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches! Highly recommend this family-run restaurant!

A brilliant find - If you want to get away from those standard, expensive Hotel breakfasts, you won't go far wrong with the Good Neighbour Restaurant. Good food and great service

First off, the best thing is if you time it right, there is free parking in the little strip center they are located in. The restaurant has expanded to having a take out coffee bar. This family owned restaurant has been in business for over 40 years. The decor is basic. The staff is friendly. It’s a great place to get a traditional breakfast. It’s a great neighborhood place, not trendy. For $10.00 you can order the special of two eggs, two slices of bacon (or sausage) and pancakes or French toast. This doesn’t include the coffee or orange juice. They also don’t rush you to leave so they can turn the table.
Great choices for breakfast...really fresh and tasty!
