My wife and I got acquainted with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's cooking when we visited Las Vegas a few years ago. Now he has opened his first restaurant in Chicago and hamburgers never tasted the same. No, Ramsay didn't bring his $777 Wagyu burger with him. But the menu is filled with unique burgers, salads and shakes that are guaranteed to please. Located at 2 East Ontario Street, at State Street, three blocks west of the Magnificent Mile, in the River North neighborhood, Gordon Ramsay Burger covers 5,000 square feet of space. Open from 11 to 10 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 11 on Friday and Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday, it also features hot dog with or without ketchup. We heartily endorse the Backyard Burger with American cheese, bibb lettuce, tomato, red onion and house pickles and the Farmhouse Burger with sharp cheddar cheese, Butcher's cut bacon and fried egg. Also the Standard Dawg with onion, mustard and house pickles on a toasted sesame seed bun. No house ketchup. We agree with Clint Eastwood, who insists that nobody should put ketchup on a hot dog. The fries are exceptional with house ketchup, chipotle ketchup and chives. We noted the younger generation was enamored with the Hell's Kitchen Burger, butter basted and topped with asadero cheese, roasted jalapenos, avocado, roasted tomato and house-made jalapeno aioli. Be sure to wash it all down with a sticky toffee shake with brow butter ice cream and toffee sauce or an Oreo milk shake with creme brulee pudding.

It was just okay. We made reservations and were seated within 5 minutes at arrival. We were a family of five and four of us ordered burgers and one a chicken sandwich. We also ordered onion rings and truffle fries. Our server was polite and efficient. Two in our party had water to drink and said it was terrible. One person had sprite and it was flat. Overall the food and service were good but I gave it 2 stars because it was nearly $200 with tip. Paying for the name and that’s about it! Old have gone to a different burger joint for less. I’d skip next time around.

The food is good, but pricey. You’re paying for the name as much as anything. The forest burger, fries and onion rings were very good. That said, there are less expensive burger joints in the city that are at least as good.

Perhaps we should have researched better but after having been to the Las Vegas location, this was disappointing. Our server was phenomenal, I will definitely say that. Sides are extra. Beer selection is nil. Beer was in a small glass “because alcohol content was a bit higher”. Struck me as a rip off. Honestly felt all like a waste of money.

We were here in November 2023 Good service and better quality. We had some onion rings, two burgers and a portion of potatoes for $68 If you like burgers, you have to go

amazing burgers and fries and with an egg allergy the vegan/eggless garlic mayo was an extra special treat. I dipped my fries in it which was banging!!! Tessa was our server and was so helpful in helping me order to cater to my allergy. Our family had a great meal and the atmosphere was wonderful too.

Thought to stop by for a quick bite after a long day of sightseeing outdoors in the hot sun before heading off to catch my flight as it was close to where I was staying. Wasn’t expecting anything to wow me but thought good would be at least decent. Terribly disappointed by the less than average food & poor service. Service - Server was friendly at first but didn’t seem interested in talking to me after I didn’t order any alcoholic drinks or the featured burger. It wasn’t busy at all when I went on a weekday afternoon and there were other servers walking around that my server was chatting with. After waiting a while, I asked if I could please have some water and was then asked by the server: oh, do you want water? Food Ordered: well done - Hells Kitchen Burger I’ve tasted better buns from Walmart or any grocery store than the one I ate. Meat patty didn’t seem to be seasoned with literally anything but simply slapped on to be merely cooked. Absolutely tasteless. When did the definition of well done mean totally burnt and bitter? First time I’ve ordered a well done burger and it came out like this. No condiment or any type of sauce came with it. Confusedly asked server if I had to order ketchup separately, to which the response was: yeah it doesn’t come with anything. do you want ketchup? Umm, yeah! There weren’t any condiment bottles on the table or a condiments bar either. $19 for a burger without any fries or condiments. A business simply selling a brand name without a care to quality food or service. Please spend your time and money on a different burger restaurant.

Me and my husband were in Chicago and couldn't decide where to eat. We thought Gordon Ramsay Burger sounded like a fun place to try. Great onion rings, cheeseburgers and service!!!

Awful. Ramsey ought to visit this place. From the minute you walk in the service is horrific, the food is extremely subpar, and the place is dirty. I am watching him scolding people on his TV show. Everything about that show contradicts what goes on at this restaurant.

Delicious food, service excellent and friendly. We all chose a different burger, all were cooked well and as we had asked.

I always wanted to try a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, so when I went to Chicago, we went to this restaurant. The food was terrible. The burger was overcooked ( I ordered Medium rare) and it was well done. I couldn't taste any truffle or parmesan on the Fries. The only thing that was ok was the Bun. It was overpriced for the quality. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Service was good. Burgers (even plant based) were delicious. Loved the corn dip & chips. We ordered fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Stars were reduced because the onion rings were over-done. The server replaced our order, the second order had too much coating & were gummy inside. Not Gordon Ramsay quality!

I don’t know if this is the best burger restaurant in Chicago but it’s certainly my favourite. Over a four day stay we ate there twice. A relatively limited menu but everything is done just right and the farmhouse burger is perfect. Simple and tasty. Highly recommended.

But yes, come on..... you can try. It will always be a hamburger, but the meat is tasty and soft. They add as well as that it makes everything very pleasant and just spicy for the Hells burger. Good nachos but arrived just warm. $37 each for an appetizer we divided into three, a hamburger and a soft drink each. Not cheap but to try certainly

Sometimes when you visit a celebrity’s restaurant, it’s not worth the hype. Not the case here. The restaurant was very clean, pretty and definitely up to Mr Ramsey’s standards. My husband the Bloody Mary and it was very good. We each had a burger and I had the truffle burger, oh my goodness, so so good! We will definitely come back next year

This is my third Gordon Ramsay restaurant, and I gotta say I was pretty impressed. Our service was pretty good and so was the food. The burger was cooked to perfection (I got the brunch burger, SO good) and we split an order of the wings which were also pretty good. You're def paying more for the name so just know going in that you're going to spend about $100.00 after taxes and tips. Also, skip the fries, they were not great.

The burgers were great…we had hells kitchen and barnyard burgers. The meat was perfectly cooked and flavor stood out on its own. Waitstaff friendly and knowledgeable. The street corn dip was mediocre. Couldn’t taste any jalapeño. Fries were okay. If we go back we would try one of the shakes for dessert over a side or appetizer, as they looked amazing! We were just too full to try.

We didn’t have reservations. Although we could see empty tables it took us a good 20 minutes to be seated (so room for improvement there). The burgers were absolutely delicious, very tasty fries too, well served portion. The star was the crème brûlée shake, it was the best shake I have ever had.

Right near the hotel and as a burger lover wanted to give it a try. My wife had strawberry milkshake which she enjoyed. She had the standard burger and I had the one with blue cheese. We shared an order of fries. Burgers were salted heavily, I don’t mind so much, but my wife was disappointed. Fries were good but did not care for homemade ketchup. I guess we are not Sophisticated enough😏. All in all it was ok, but probably would not revisit. Disappointed no souvenirs for sale as I wanted to get my son a Gordon Ramsay shirt. Service good but food took long time.

We were looking for a casual lunch and a burger was appealing. We stopped by and there was a line but were were seated immediately at the bar. The bar staff was very welcoming and helpful. We split a Bleu Cheese Burger and a side of o Onion Rings. Both were delicious and the servings were very ample. We recommend!

This restaurant was very clean, and the staff were all super friendly. Our waitress was fantastic. She kept our drinks coming, and she was willing to answer any questions we had and offer recommendations. The onion rings were big with lots of breading and cooked perfectly, but you only get 5. It seems like you should get a few more for what they cost. The fries were slightly undercooked and cost extra. However, the burgers were wonderful. It is an expensive restaurant, and I’m sure part of that is because you’re paying for the name. We all left full and were glad to have experienced it once.

We wanted to see what Gordon Ramsey can provide on “normal” food and we tried this Chicago restaurant. I want to mention something before you go to next chapter of my review: I am Romania and French, I leave in Paris area and I travel a lot around the world. I am telling y ou this to make it easy to understand why I loved this restaurant. I am a big fan of hotdogs and I try hotdogs all around the world. I looked to this restaurant and read the reviews - hotdog review was not so great. I give a try and this was the good choice. We get a very nice elaborate appetizer , made from corn, really good and made to prepare you for next plate. Next plate - you got it: hotdog . The hotdog was a mix between chicago and London style , a great surprise , tasty and visually very good. I enjoyed every bite and I finish by taking a second one :-). I recommend this restaurant for a different experience in a burger place. Came without high expectations and leave with good memories

Delicious burger , great shake and drink. Wonderfull experience for a Gordon ramsay restaurant. Water was very fresh,

I had a haddock sandwich. The fish had a nice crispy breading on it. The bun was fresh and delicious. My wife had nachos and street corn dip. The dip was sweet and garnished nicely. It was also excellent. Tessa was our waitress and she did an excellent job. The restaurant was clean and fresh. A good place to eat when in downtown Chicago

I'm familiar with Gordon Ramsey from TV and my son really wanted to try a burger so we went. Everything was delicious! Just order a main dish and then a side if you somehow still have room. Came back the next day for the milkshake we were too full to have.

Gordon, Gordon what the heck are you doing here? How bad can a burger be? We walked by, dropped in, told no tables. Booked online and in we went. Service was very mediocre. Ordered our burgers, well done, no pink. We did not expect cardboard, no flavour patties, masked with a chunk of tomato and lettuce. As for the sweet potato fries powder? Security girl with a gun on show at the door was very different as we had not witnessed throughout our stay, though the Chicago Police appeared happy dining here

I asked the waiter to suggest a recommended burger. It was delicious and they gave fatty oil sauce. For drink I ordered cocktail.

I’m not typically a fan of burger places but, if you want a burger, this is a great place to go. The burgers were excellent. Onion rings amazing. Sweet potato fries - great when still hot - got cold quickly, maybe there’s a way to keep them hot because they’re much tastier. Overall excellent service and experience.

We thought it would be fun to splurge on a to go order and bring food back to our hotel room from this well-known restaurant. After learning on its web site that they were still working on making ordering to go orders available for online ordering, I went to the restaurant to order for take away. I ordered (and tipped) spending over $50 for two of us and waited about a half hour for the order. That would have been okay, except we discovered when I got back to our hotel that there were no utensils. There were none available at the hotel we were staying in so I went back to the restaurant and was informed that they are expecting a shipment of utensils anytime and they were sorry. And they weren't willing to part with a couple of forks either. I finally just walked into another restaurant nearby and begged for some takeaway utensils and they said no problem. Of course, after all this, the meal was cold. Isn't Gordon Ramsay the guy who berates restauranteurs for getting the basics wrong? Geez. Send someone out to Costco if you want to advertise take out as available.

Reasonably priced, great burger and fantastic service. Would definitely visit again. Visited before an NFL game

Awesome burger menu with options to build your own! The burger was fabulous but don't pass up the onion rings! Service at the bar was excellent! Fun Atmosphere!

I’ve wanted to visit a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for awhile and I’m glad I did. The atmosphere inside the place was great. I ordered the blue cheese cheeseburger with yam fries and really enjoyed it. The burger was nothing like I’ve had before. Yam fries were good but nothing special. The dip the fries came with was really good. To drink I ordered the watermelon mocktail, it was delicious but I thought there was a little too much ice. Service was great. I would eat at this spot again anytime

Visited on a Saturday night, in early August with my wife and teen son. Reserved ahead of time. Been meaning to try a GR place for a while and had opportunity in London plenty of times, living in the Uk, but never made it, so decided might be fun to try whilst holidaying in the states. We were checked in quick and our table was ready within 2 mins (good start). My wife ordered a Rose wine, my son a coke and I went for the okd fashioned, even though quite pricey. Drinks arrived, coke - fine. Wine - pathetically small glass and the Old Fashioned - a fist-sized hunk of ice with an overpowering whiskey taste. Not so much as a note of bitters or orange. Rubbish. We ordered Nachos to share as appetisers. They were baked black bean style and the topping was thick, way to rich and just needed something to cut through but…on to main course. Wife had pulled pork burger and I had the Hells Kitchen burger. Both rather bland and the sorst part, barely lukewarm. Couldn’t be bothered to send back. Just lived with it. Forgot what burger my son had but think it was chicken. No complaints from him. Paid the rather large bill and left, completely underwhelmed. Ate much better products around Chicago at far lesser known places and at much less cost. If Tv is to be believed, there’s no way GR was have accepted what we were served, let alone endorse it with his brand / name.

I know Gordon Ramseys quality of service and food based on my past experiences and his famed TV shows. New in Chicago Gordon Ramsey has brought a new burger spot for any and everyone. Going on a Saturday night was what you would expect, packet and lively, we did not make reservations “ I suggest you do on the weekend” we walked in after leaving the Chicago Auto show and had a hour wait. No problem because I want to see what masterpiece he has come up with in regards to burgers. We finally were seated, our waitress was excellent I placed a appetizer order before we received our water and when they brought the water placed our order for our burgers and drinks. We watched a party of four sit to our left and a party of two sit to our right, 45 minutes later both parties had their burgers? We were sitting close to the open kitchen and saw every order that went out, three managers stood directly in front of us the whole time watching the floor, I wondered if they even questioned if we were ordering food or just their to people watch. Our waitress apologize for the long wait and by the time our food came out the two tables on either side of us we’re almost done. We did not order anything extra just however the burgers came nothing more nothing less, once we were done the waitress did apologize again and did take of some items for the inconvenience. I have to say she was the best but the disconnect of the management team left me with a sense of inexperience or lack of. We were a party of 3 and we ordered the onion rings, Oreo shake, two cocktails, three burgers and truffle fries. I think this is a cool spot to go out on a spare of the moment but their are much better burger places in Chicago. Would I go again? Probably not, not because of my experience the first time but because of the taste of the burgers, nothing special just the name and that was ok for me.

very good quality and pricey burgers. Great quality seasoned beef. Onion rings pretty good but I like em sweeter. Very good service.

Gordon Ramsey should be embarrassed to have his name associated with the resturaunt. It's an obvious money grab. I gave it one star based on expectations in reality it is a 3. Burgers are average at best, caesar salad was spicy which was not described on the menu, service is average, menus are falling apart, bathrooms are disgusting. Fried pickles, fries and desert were good!

very pleasant and quiet atmosphere, very clean, friendly service, but the BEST was the hamburger, very juicy, totally delicious sauces, just delicious

We came across the restaurant by chance, while walking around Chicago. While they were very busy at 6pm and unable to seat us for ~45 minutes we opted to sit at the bar and be served immediately. The decor was new, and modern. The food was really great - simple, but very tasty. We got the Hell’s Kitchen burger, standard Dog, and sweet potato fries. Reasonably priced, at about $60USD with a drink each. Service was also really good. Would return, and recommend to others.

Anyone who has watched Gordon Ramsay on television knows the high standards he holds for his food. So when he turns his scrupulous culinary eye towards classic American fare such as burgers and chicken wings, the results are bound to be fabulous. I came to Gordon Ramsay Burger only a few weeks after it opened. Surrounded by the towering skyscrapers of River North, the dining room sports a modern and unpretentious vibe reminiscent of a California Pizza Kitchen. The staff members are friendly and courteous, even when enforcing Cook County’s vaccine mandate for indoor dining. My party was surprised to find that at 1:00 on a Saturday the three of us did not have to wait for a table. I ordered the “Hellfire” chicken wings for starters. It is, bar-none, the best bone-in chicken wing offered anywhere in the Midwest. The sauce is tangy but not mouth-burning. The blue cheese on the side is obviously home-made and mind-blowingly flavorful. The specialty milkshakes here are also not to be missed. I tried both options—the Oreo Crem Brûlée and the Sticky Toffee—and found both to be irresistibly sweet. The former was my favorite; it came with whipped cream, brûlée cream, and a whole oreo on top. (Read: don’t come here on a diet.) The entree blue cheese burger is my new favorite. I ordered an expertly prepared plant-based patty sandwiched between crispy onion rings and a perfectly toasted sesame bun. I would recommend it to anyone. My sister ordered the Farmhouse burger with cheddar, bacon, and a fried egg on top. She told me it was amazing, really well cooked, and good quality through and through. The French fries at Gordon Ramsay burger are a tad overpriced, but indisputably delicious nonetheless. I much prefer the sweet potato fries with honey jalapeño aïoli. (As for Gordon’s spicy catchup, let’s just say it made me wish I had a bottle of Heinz.) There are plenty of places in Chicago where you can find a burger and fries for much less money, but none will deliver an experience even close to what one enjoys at Gordon Ramsay Burger. I am thrilled that Mr. Ramsay chose our city to open up this nearly flawless restaurant, and will most certainly return.

The restaurant is mediocre at best. Lousy service and inept staff. And worse, the woman that responds to these reviews provides NOTHING but robotic answers and emails sent as she requests emgir every negative review goes unanswered. GORDON: Send spotters in and you will understand.

Typical of a celebrity restaurant catering to tourists who won't be returning. I live in the neighborhood. Soon after this place opened, I decided to try their onion rings for a test. They were very greasy with virtually no crispiness. This past weekend I decided to try a burger, which was average and nothing outstanding, and the $12 truffle fries. The truffle fries were not at all firm or crispy on the outside like they should have been and they were lukewarm and the so-called truffle aoli was sticky and pasty with several fries stuck together and there was not even the slightest hint of truffle smell or taste. I'm sure this is what "Chef" Ramsay is counting on...that 99% of his customers wouldn't know a truffle from a mushroom. Save yourself a ton of money and eat a block south at the Weber Grill where a very good hamburger that comes with exceptionally prepared fries and coleslaw will cost $17-19.

The truffle fries were fantastic. The onion rings were decent. I had to pull a part of the shell out to make a few of them edible. The burger’s were cooked to order or just a bit under. And we’re fantastic. The seasoning was yummy which made the under cooked eatable. The craft cocktail margarita was… undesirable but you have to try to local affair. So $83+ tip not sure I would recommend or return. But hey when in Rome. Not sure I would go back for the price. But the food was decent.

Average american dinner, the coke has no spark at all and flavorless. The milkshake tons of sigan That you cab chew it. Bueguers comes without fríes pay extra, the Bueguers Were ok but can be better coming from a very high chef !! Ahhh forgot the nachos are not nachos some sort of potato chips !!!

Exclusive review on the burgers, as we only ate those. Excellent, tasty meat cooked to perfection according to our instructions, tasty and unobtrusive seasonings. a portion of chips (it was enough), well presented and good. Satisfactory beer selection. Not given as a gift, but in Chicago nothing is given as a gift!!!

Stopped here on a Saturday evening for dinner, walked in, was told there’d be a 30 minute wait, and we were seated in 10. Best onion rings and sweet potato fries I’ve ever had, and the burger was delicious! The Oreo shake for dessert was amazing. Prices are reasonable considering this is Chicago. We’re already planning to fit this in next time we travel to Chicago. Excellent waitstaff as well, friendly and efficient.

Great food and great service. A hamburger perfect in flavours, in cooking, in the crunchiness of the seeded bun bread. Impossible to forget. Affordable prices considering the American context.

Wanted to grab something fast and popped in not knowing what to expect. The burgers were AWESOME and the Truffle Fries OMG..... we could have licked the plate clean

Organized lines, decent prices, good parking, clean, easy directions, felt safe, good food choices, wide range of selection of merch

My friends and I love all things Gordon Ramsay, so while spending the day in Chicago, we knew we had to try out the new restaurant. We were able to get a reservation, day of, for lunch and were seated immediately upon arriving. The service was amazing. Our server kept our drinks filled, brought extra condiments and was eager to get us anything we needed. He even suggested we split fries as a group, because an order each would most likely be too much. We very much appreciated that. Two orders of fries was perfect for the four of us. All of us demolished our meals. It is safe to say that everyone enjoyed their burgers. We had one burger of the month, two Backyard burgers, and one brunch burger. Of the regular and truffle fries, we all preferred the truffle fries. They had excellent flavor! If you are looking for a high quality meal, cooked by real adults and staff that cares about customer service, try this place out. We were not disappointed at all with our lunch here.

Average burger. This was my second visit and I was not impressed this time. My burger was fresh with all the fixings but very average in taste. The fries were hot and tasty. I think I'll stop at 2 visits here and explore other options. 🍔✝️

This was A MUST for our few days in Chicago, because I am a huge Gordon Ramsay fan. I was SO excited to try it and it did not disappoint! My fiancee and I both said it was the best burger we had ever had. The burger was SO juicy and all we kept saying was ‘this is so good’ every time we took a bite lol. The fries were great…I know, I know, I will get some hate for this…but I really am not a fan of homemade ketchup…but I still ate a little. Just not my style. The employees were extremely attentive and polite. I would absolutely eat here again ….and again.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I had the farmhouse without the fried egg & regular fries. The house made ketchup was very good but the fries were basic boring fries. They offer truffle fries but I am not a truffle fan. The bacon on the burger was good but overall I was underwhelmed. I have really enjoyed his other restaurants but I would skip this one. Service was average, everything was just average.

Nothing was from beginning to end. First of all, an expectation in the entrance on each other without communication despite many empty tables. Once installed and after ordering, we waited more than 30 minutes for our dishes. In this meantime, we see a dirty place, sauces lying around on a sideboard waiting to be served with the dishes, neglected waiters with dirty pants. Once the dishes arrive, it continues. Too salty ground steak, a non-existent hard cheese burger. The Southtern burger made from chicken mixer had a strange taste. Only the fries were worth it! I do not recommend this restaurant and Gordon should take a look there before doing Nightmare shows in the kitchen! Shame on you Gordon Ramsay

I love burgers but I am a demanding burger person. I love gourmet burgers and if I had to select one of the best places in the world for burgers Gordon Ramsey in Chicago would definitely qualify in the top. I had a backyard burger and my wife had the vegan burger and they were delicious, fresh and tasty. We also had some fries with cheese and drinks in a casual centrally located place in Chicago. The service is great and fast. If you want a special burger this is the place

We had a dinner with my wife at this location. It is located on a nice area in Chicago. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The menu has great burger options. The sides are huge. The burgers we have ordered looked great and fresh. They also tasted really good. It is a bit pricey but real good. Would recommend anyway.

We are here early on a Sunday lunch service. All items served room temperature- disappointed. Idiot Burger was mid tbh. $21 on two orders of fries 🍟 that would have been served hotter and appropriately salted 🧂 at McDonald’s.

We sat at the bar and there was only 2 of us and 4 other people. Service was not very good. We had to waive to bartender to get service. I ordered the monthly special that was to come with a fried egg and it did not! The bartender had to have the kitchen make it for me special after my burger arrived. It was not very good for the $130.00 bill.

Dinner with typical burgers overcooked (despite we had asked for medium cooking) warm and cold bread..... good Hells kitchen dressing, but nothing exciting... price in the right.

I had never eaten in a Gordon Ramsey restaurant before, so when our vacation hotel placed us right across the street from Gordon Ramsey Burger—Chicago, I was super excited! The menu looked wonderful; the burger descriptions were tantalizing. I ordered the Brunch Burger, my husband had the Nashville Hot, and our son order the Hell’s Kitchen burger. We also ordered onion rings and fries. This is where the excitement ended. The onion rings arrived (6 rings for $12), and were so heavily breaded I could barely taste the onion and was full after 2 rings. The batter was tasty, but it was SO heavy. It was more like an onion donut. Not good. I doubt Gordon would think they were up to standards. There’s nothing better than a brunch burger! The element that really makes it rock is that runny egg on top! Except when the yolk is not runny but rather hard and rubbery. 😕 I was also expecting homemade hash browns underneath that should-have-been-runny egg; I got a pre-formed block of what looked like McDonald’s hash browns to hold the rubbery egg. I asked the waiter if the egg was supposed to be hard , and he told me it should have been runny, but did not offer to fix it. Honestly, I’ve had a much better brunch burger at Applebee’s and the egg has always been runny there and the hash browns homemade. My son enjoyed his burger. My husband sad the Nashville Hot was very “one note.” $82 later, and the rose-colored glasses were off. Definitely a disappointment. I imagine if Gordon had been sitting at our table, he would have been embarrassed at the showing. It was “meh;” certainly not someplace I’d be anxious to eat at again.

Restaurant is excellent from entrance they are very friendly and welcoming, food was super good , I order eur burger and onion rings towner , was super delicious. I need to tell the management that you have one of your staff his name Eddie, he work in the bar , and he is super nice guy , this man he understands the menu and give me recommendations and he understands the bar menu and always happy to explain me about items in the menu , I saw him he do it with all guests , and very hard working , just would like to say thank you Eddie, you made the experience better , Restaurant is pricey but really worth it . Very highly recommended

We waited 35 mins for our table (not bad)…. Then waited 45 mins for our food. Our group ordered two burgers , fries and a salad. After the long wait, our food was cold, all of it. Not only that, by the time my friend got her salad, everyone else was just about done with their food. Waitress never came to fill our waters. I understand places are short staffed, but she was also chit chatting a lot with one specific table for quite awhile- so I think it was leaning towards bad service , not having enough staff. $84.00 for cold food …. And bad service isn’t ok. Just very disappointed in the overall experience. I would’ve expected much more from a restaurant with Gordon Ramsay’s name on it. Recommendation: save your money and go somewhere else. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Food was OK but medium hamburger was well done. Martini served in a wine glass. Music blaring so conversations were impossible. Had reservation, but hostess tried to seat us at worst table by restrooms even though restaurant was half empty. Wouldn't visit again. Waiter was great, though!

I rarely write reviews. Today I had lunch at this restaurant. The hostess was inviting and friendly. Once seated, the service was non-existent. We saw our waiter twice - once to say hello and once to get paid. Besides for that (ordering sodas and meals, bringing food, etc) he was non-existent. His coworkers had to pick up the slack, which during Covid-strain times is not fair. Beyond that, the backyard burger and accompanying fries was simply awful. It’s the first time I’ve had food poisoning in years, but terrible. I’m glad the burger was inedible and I was only able to eat 1/4 of it before it started to make me nauseated. The fries were old. As a devout Gordon fan, this was disappointing and he’d be horrified that his name is attached to this establishment with abysmal standards. Would never recommend even to an enemy.

We must be spoiled by all the fabulous burgers in Chicago because this was a total disappointment. Burger was seasoned with a ton of salt and topped by so much lettuce, tomato, pickle you could barely find the over cooked dried out meat. Fries were average. Restaurant looked to be a haven for tourists. For these prices go to Any of the steakhouses for a true gourmet experience. Never will return and will advise everyone I meet this is a spot you can miss. If I ever sent any guests (as a Hotel Concierge ) to this spot I would have no reputation left.

Good address for lunch in downtown Chicago. Efficient smiling Welcoming in a pleasant setting. Classic map. Good Burger. Price a little above normal, but we're paying Gordon Ramsay. Blue cheese Burger is very pleasant with a mixture of sauce that is out of the ordinary. A very good address

The food was great, atmosphere was just as good as our burger. However, we were getting a blast from the A/C and when we informed our server she didn’t seem interested. Her response was “well there’s nothing I can do about it.” We just laughed. Would consider eating there next time we are in Chicago however, not in the stream of cold air flow.

Service kinda sucked. My husband had a burger & fries and I had the hellfire chicken salad. My husband said the burger was good! The French fries weren’t salted, and my salad was so drenched in ranch dressing I couldn’t eat it. I pushed it to the side and the waiter asked “are you done with this” and took the plate without asking if there was a reason I didn’t eat it. Also it was an $18 salad, otherwise I wouldn’t have been bothered.

Simplified place with pretty bad attention. The bad accompaniments but the onion rings are terrible, the frying is heavy and the onion old. Remarkable the meat of the burger cooked in the perfect term but inside an old and totally moist bread makes the burger generally not expected. I don't understand how a Michelin chef risks his name this way

We visited in June 2023 and I couldn't sing its praise any higher..everything exceeded expectations...our 2nd visit was a huge disappointment..poor service..poor burgers and sloppy looking product. All 4 of us Ordered different burgers and all 4 erred disappointed. My burger was the truffle burger which I ordered with veggie patty and no bacon..I received the correct patty but got bacon..rather than replace my sandwich they merely removed bacon and sent it back to me which left me with a greasy nasty tasting burger..if I hadn't sung the praise of the restaurant we never would have celebrated my birthday here..our bill for 4 adults was 176 usd before tip..I could have done better elsewhere..our family are huge fans of ramsey and left disappointed 😞..we won't be back

Great food……everything was great except the service. Went for dinner tonight on a non-busy evening. The waitress was very nice but not trained well. Also VERY slow service. Seems like it took forever to get the appetizers (wings and onion rings). When the burgers arrived, I asked the waitress for some salt. She looked at me and said, “I’ll get it” and then proceeded to take a dinner order from a large party. Meanwhile, our dinners were getting cold and I ended up getting it myself from the kitchen area. Gordon R. would have been appalled. She came back and asked if I wanted a Diet Coke refill……..(after the glass was empty for 20-minutes). I took her up on it only to take a gulp out of COKE, not Diet Coke. Not good. HOWEVER, the food was outstanding and worth every penny. We will definitely return. Best burgers ever! Hopefully the service will improve. The waitress was the problem, not the food and not the prices.

My 13 year old daughter and I arrived around 6 pm on a Friday evening. We waited maybe 5 minutes for a table. We ordered soft drinks, a hot dog, a burger and an order of fries (unlike most places, you must order the fries separately). There was not a long wait for the food and when it came, it did not disappoint. I usually am not a big eater but I ate my entire burger - it was possibly the best burger I've ever had. Seasoned well, perfect temperature, slightly crispy bun and fresh condiments. The hot dog was HUGE and my daughter barely ate half (though she eats like a bird). I had a bite of it and it was good. The fries were also excellent, although I hear the truffle fries are even better (given my picky eater, we went with the regular). The table beside us got onion rings and we gawked at those - they looked amazing. Price was average for what I'd expect in Chicago. I love Gordon so this was a must stop for me - I'd definitely go back.

Let’s start with the positive- great service and awesome burger (I had the Hell’s Kitchen burger). My burger came with a flat green slab covering the entire burger which I realized was not lettuce but a roasted jalapeño. Packed very full, in fact they might want to consider bigger buns because the contents start slipping out. Now the “meh” aspects- Fries were only so-so, onion rings fat and mostly batter that drowns out onion taste. But what I went for, the burgers, was perfect.

I was skeptical at first and wasn't sure if a $17 burger was worth buying. But it was definitely amazing!! I loved it and even returned a few days later. I am in town for 2 more weeks and I plan on visiting a few times more. Service from the bartender has been amazing, attentive and professional.

We waited almost an hour for a table for two, but the food was well worth it. The burgers were amazing, the fries were perfect, and the house ketchup and assorted aiolis were wonderful. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

My boyfriend and I had lunch here. The burgers were phenomenal - the best burger I’ve ever had! And the truffle fries were to die for. It definitely lived up to what you’d expect from Gordon Ramsay. We will definitely be back when in Chicago again!

Great location, fabulous friendly server who couldn’t help us more very informative about the menu, lovely choice of menu & quirky surroundings..

Amazing - Just a good burger. Was near the kitchen and could see it was just like on his programmes - everyone had their own job to do resulting in fantstic food arriving in a short period of time but cooked to perfection. Kevin and Sam were freindly and deserve a mention

Yummy Thanksgiving dinner at Gordon Ramsay Burgers! Had the Lucy - which was the Special - it was fantastic!!! The Corn Salsa is a Must Have!!! Juan was a fantastic server! Thanks for a great night!

Good bar staff, good wait staff, good food with ample portions. Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Very good burgers! Fries are extra. It was a casual place. Great service but pricey for what you get. Good location downtown. We had reservations but didn’t need them at 5:30 on a weeknight.

Attracted by the chef's fame, I had lunch in this place. What a disappointment the sandwich was of average quality like you would find in any other place with the meat dry and thin. >The Caesar salad didn't even include chicken which I had to pay for separately and was full of mayonnaise. The two dishes paid a whopping 55 dollars.

One of the better burgers I've had. The only negative was that the air conditioning was blowing right on me and it wasn't overly warm outside so it became very uncomfortable. I had to go outside a couple of times to warm up.

Making a reservation was easy but not necessary for a Thursday evening; we even got in a few minutes early. Price was about $30/person ($40 if you want a drink). Our server was amazing! To be honest, though, this was a major let-down. My kids and I are Gordon Ramsey fans; this was supposed to be a special treat for them. Unfortunately, we were disapointed. All the details that we expected were lacking. The hostess put the cutlery and menus on the table in different directions. Burgers were smaller than what I imagined. Feels like your burger should come w/fries, not have to be added for $7. Flavors were good, but felt mediocre compared to what Ramsey is capable of. Nothing was special. For me, I'd rather pay half the price for the same experience at a local burger joint. Maybe Ramsey has a nearby steakhouse that is better.

I was staying in a hotel on the 600 block of state street. I was about to visit my favorite burger joint on the near west side -- but rain prevented that. Wait!!! There's Gordon Ramsay Burger a block away. I ordered the farmer's burger -- egg, bacon, and ordered a medium rare burger. Oops - ordered a coke, waited for the coke, then waited for the waiter, and ordered the medium rare burger. Waited, waited. Then got the burger -- waited for the salt and pepper - waited. Imagine no salt and pepper on the tables - covid effect. Now the food -- I think it was an egg on top, the thick bacon was tasteless, and the burger was not extraordinary or better said, ordinary. Medium rare - maybe, juicy dripping - no, dry on the edges yes. Gordon better pay a visit

The food was delicious, the service was incredible, and I look forward to returning! There are so many options for dinner in Chicago, but this was easily one of the most enjoyable meals.

Kinda scoffed when I saw on the website it said reservations preferred. I was like reservations at a burger place? Come on. I did it anyway. Glad I did place was packed. Amazing food from drinks and appetizer to burger and fries.

Excellent Hells Kitchen burger, too spicy chicken in salad and very rude waiter. Fe he said while handing us the menu: I don’t care what you take, as long as it’s a burger. That’s one example… Gordon himself may be rude but never to customers and we couldn’t appreciate this behaviour.

The toppings are what made these burgers over the top. Caramelized onions on the blue cheese burger were the best I have ever tasted. The roasted tomatoes that were on the vegan burger - you could have had just that on toast! Worth coming back to
This celebrity chef is as good as advertised
Sometimes celebrity chefs aren't as good as advertised and restaurants owned by the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan leave something to be desired. But, his TV rantings aside, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay knows how to dish up a tasty, creative burger with all the trimmings and appropriate sides. Gordon Ramsay Burger has five locations, including 2 East Ontario Street in downtown Chicago, a block west of the Magnificent Mile. He also has two locations in Las Vegas and one each in Boston and Vancouver. Open from 11 to 10 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 11 on Friday and Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday, Ramsay's Chicago address has a Las Vegas flair with a taste of Chicago. It's a great place for shoppers to stop for a quick bite. I love the Backyard Burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and bread and butter pickles on a toasted sesame seed bun, the Blue cheeseburger with blue cheese, caramelized onions, onion strings, blue cheese dressing, bibb lettuce and aioli on a toasted sesame seed bun and a Chicago Dawg with onion, mustard, green relish, tomato, pickle spear and sport peppers on a poppy seed bun. With Just fries with ketchup and fries and an Oreo creme brulee shake or a root beer float.
