Grand China is an old(er) established Asian food restaurant in Buckhead, serving Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Malay food. Décor is typical Asian, leaving few changes to be desired to make it nicer. Service is (lack of a better word) interesting. The owner is walking around with a phone ear piece (only came by to pick up our payment, said nothing), the waitress (most likely a family member required to work there) was efficient but cold and did not crack a smile the entire time we were there. The owner's wife, in her light blue silky dress, was friendly, chatty and all, but "a bit out there", seemingly worn by the daily business grind (or boredom) of running a restaurant over the past 35 years or so. Food was OK. Shrimp fried rice with pineapple and nuts tasted a bit different than it did in most other places that I had it, possibly due to many different types of Asian food that is prepared back in their kitchen (possible cross "pollution" of spices). If you find yourself in Buckhead, are hungry and are dying for Asian food, stop at Grand China by all means, but curb your expectations and all will be ok.

PROS: Great location, ambience and service. Hostess was gracious and our server was super friendly. CONS, MENU: I just don't get the menu. It's extremely vast, includes dishes from many different Asian countries but unfortunately not well laid out. 1. Pages aren't numbered 2. Drinks are the first half of the multi-page menu. 3. Food isn't laid out by course but sorta by country 4. I can't remember if there was a dessert menu BUT dessert wasn't offered. We got the bill and fortune cookies "for dessert". OTHER CONS: 5. Server seemed exhausted and was the only server. There was one buss-boy. 6. Hostess flutters to guests which is a lovely touch but, server was overwhelmed.

Was in the mood to treat a friend to dinner. She lives near so location was great. Staff was fantastic. Rarely do we have a cocktail, but the drink menu was enticing! Had a scorpion and it was great. Nxet we had an order of shrimp toast. Fantastic! Really among the bet I have ever had! I always order ht and sour soup. I often judge the restaurant over allon their ability to get this soup right. I was not disappointed. An item on the menu sounded so unusual I had to order it. It was called "Shrimp, Apple, Pinenuts matched perfectly" I was intrigued. But when the entre cane I was a bit disappointed. The ingredients were fine. Shrimp were large and cooked perfectly BUT no sauce. Have mixed feelings. But there were other items on the menu that I cant wait to try. So we will return.

My husband and I were in town for a concert at the Buckhead Theater. Our daughter and her boyfriend joined us for a pre-event meal at Grand China. Great seats, huge menu, delicious food and prompt service. The only downfall - the portions are enormous and we were unable to take our leftovers with us!!

The restaurant is quiet and very relaxing. Both the hostess and the server were very friendly and helpful. The food servings are large and delicious. I had the duck with vegetables and it was the best duck I have ever had. The prices are VERY reasonable especially considering this restaurant is located in Buckhead. Also there is FREE parking behind the restaurant.

We have always loved this place, and it is even more relaxing and enjoyable in its new location. I ordered a special sushi roll and it was done to perfection. The rice was not too sticky, and the fish was fresh. The Chinese options are always a treat, and they can be adjusted for spiciness, etc., because they are always freshly prepared. I don't think they use MSG, but you can certainly keep that out. The proprietors are always coming up with new ways to entertain and delight. One flash fried crab appetizer was a special treat not on the menu. We return again and agin for Chinese food in Atlanta

I've lived in Buckhead for 15 years and this is the first time I've been to Grand China. The new location is great. I ordered Nam Sod (ground pork, onions, peanuts, lime juice - then wrap it in cabbage to eat like a taco). It was heavy on the onions, VERY slim on the pork. In fact, I had to dig around in the onions to find some pork. Very disappointing. My friend ordered the shrimp-stuffed eggplant, which was tasty. The woman in the long skirt (owner perhaps?) was interesting to say the least. She stopped by our table to check on us, and talked about...well, just about everything. She has a colorful vocabulary. I would go back, but I will definitely order something different.

Mrs. Chen is a warm and gracious owner who has been delivering the best Chinese food in Atlanta for literally decades. She commits to quality food and experience. I have been eating here since the 1990s and have consistently loved the quality of the food, the service and Mrs. Chen's personal touch on the whole restaurant. She and her restaurant are one of Atlanta's treasures!

My favorite Asian restaurant in Atlanta. Great food, warm ambience and attentive service. Owner "Madame" Tse=Chih embodies the restaurant. She is always on hand ensuring that all goes well. She herself is friendly, gracious, personally elegant and highly professional. We will be back! Bill

Fantastic food extensive menu featuring chinese but also has Thai and Japanese selections and everything is great

Nothing very spicy, very hot, or very notable. I guess you'd call the atmosphere pleasant, the service adequate, and food passable. Don't plan on any wow factor.

I live in the Buckhead area. For the most part, I have been disappointed with the Chinese food options. Grand China is worth coming back again. I visited and got a takeaway with several menu items. Both my wife and I liked what we ordered. The steam pork bun was good but we were would have liked it more if there was bbq pork in the bun. They do cook for the American palette so you will have to spice it up with chili sauce on your own if you want some heat.

We will not go back. Rude server, barely warm soup which was not good eating temperature. Spring roll was the only thing that was served hot enough to eat and was good. The shrimp dish with rice was cold when it was brought to the table. Shrimp was way over cooked and hard. Horrible food and horrible service. Started to call the Board of Health while there.

My wife and I have eaten at The Grand China for years and the food has always been excellent and the service very good. The Grand China has a varied menu and we have never had anything there that wasn't great..... it has the best Chinese & Thai food we have had, including our travels north and south america and europe. The owners take great pride in the food and service.

When we were in Atlanta, we specifically searched chinese restaurant and found this one. We had quite some expectation based on the reviews, but man! wasn't it disappointing! People who think they are good, they haven't tried real chinese food yet! The meat felt like just being microwaved from frozen (I know it was not, but it certainly tasted like it). The fish was over-cooked, not fresh and not tender and not tasty at all. Most vegetables were from canned food for sure, not fresh. Being a chinese, I like traveling around America. I've visited lots of places and tasted lots of chinese restaurants. This is only worth 1-star. If you enjoy this place, I am sorry, I have to tell you that this is nothing like chinese food. As a matter of fact, this is nothing like good food, whatever the label is.

Fantastic service and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had the Szechuan Shrimp with wonton soup and a vegetable spring roll. The shrimp was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My daughter tried the Hunan Chicken and found it to be a little chewy, but the sauce was good and the vegetables were, too.

The service was very good. But the food was VERY below average. I must sa for a uckhead location I was expecting so much more.

We had not been to this restaurant for many years, remembering the food as barely acceptable. A Groupon convinced us to give it another try. It is a pretty restaurant with easy free parking behind the building. The restaurant is large andonly 6 tables were occupied when we came in. My spinach tofu soup and my husband's sweet and sour were very good. The very extensive menue has chef's recommendations in red, the sauteed asparagus, snowpeas and mushrooms was well seasoned and not greasy, and my picky husband liked the orange chicken. Portions were large. There was a bit of a wait between courses, but we were in no hurry. Prices are very reasonable, and we look forward to return visits.

i can easily order this to the office - great food! diverse ethnic menu... fast service on carry our or even dine in. Been in Buckhead over 20 years.

We visited Grand China after purchasing a Groupon. They had a great selection available. We had General Tso's Chicken and Fried Pepper Scallops with fried rice. The hot and sour soup was delicious. The chicken was on the tough side. The scallop entree was very good, but had more peppers than scallops. The fried rice was indistinguishable from steamed rice.

Recently relocated a few buildings away from the 1978 original restaurant, Grand China continues to serve up fresh Chinese and oriental inspired dishes in a cozy brick house on Peachtree Rd. We enjoyed sizzling rice soup, Moo Shu Pork, and by request: steamed chicken & vegetables which was delicious and nearly calorie free without the rice which usually accompanies the entree. Left satiated with enough for left overs. Plenty of mingling space at the bar. Glass enclosed porch seating or house rooms set with tables. Valet parking. Mid-range prices.

The food was hot and fresh, we only had lunch but it was fresh, fast and good! Perfect! I would recommend this place for a quick lunch and the atmosphere would be delightful for dinner as well.

Let me start by saying the pu-pu platter was great. Other than that the food was no better than our local cheap Chinese location at home and it was just plain expensive. As a visitor to the area, I would probably not return on my next trip.

I had a meal that I compared with the best I've ever had in Chicago's china town and Taiwan. The spring rolls, wonton soup and Orange shrimp were incredibly good. My wife ate lemon chicken and was equally impressed. The service was superior. I was in town on business from SW georgia and I would drive 4 hours just to eat at the restaurant itself. If you want authentic delicious chinese food then do not miss eating here. I look forward to eating there again. EXCELLENT and worth the money.

The food was good. Not the best I've had. The service was very slow. I was a bit skeptic about ordering after I saw the reviews but It was overall okay.

Can you name a lot of restaurants that have been under the same ownership for nearly 40 years? Me neither... but Grand China can make that claim. Grand China has been open in the heart of Buckhead since first opening their doors which says a lot about the quality and consistency of its food and service. They have evolved their menu over time to offer a little something for everybody. My family and I have been coming to Grand China since I was in a baby carrier and I visited most recently yesterday. The food and hospitality remain best in class. While most people think “Buford Highway” for Asian cuisine, there is another gem in Grand China that is more accessible to folks in Buckhead and Midtown. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed the food here, we ate several dishes, and shared , service and staff were excellent, will recommend this place for excellent Chinese food..... NOTE: Valet parking only ....

I visited this restaurant with 6 business friends over from China. The very friendly staff looked after us really well. There was a special Chinese menu and the dishes that came out were similar to the ones I have when I am over in China. My friends were very happy with the food and were pleased to have a taste of home! There is parking around the back and it is well located for shopping at the Lenox mall and the entertainment and hotels of Buckhead. Just a short ride out of Atlanta. The decor is a little dated, but clean and tidy. I would use this place again.

The very best in Atlanta with excellent food and a great staff. You can’t go wrong at Grand China. The food is very very good Go enjoy

Went there for a business diner. The food is good but not all at same level. Had the cold rolls. They were not done tight so were breaking. The soup was good. The plates are huge so come hungry.. the menu is way too big. Woukd be better if they concentrate on one style of food.

Fantastic food and service. Each plate was expertly made and delicious. The lychee martini was to die for. So much food on every plate as well, everyone needed a to go box and left stuffed. Our waitress was super sweet. You can really tell they care.

Dry chicken rice was over cooked. Server messed our order up. Never took our drink order. Doubt I will return. They should have stayed at old location. I'll take Hop Shing any day

My husband and I found this restaurant when driving around. We wanted a small meal to share. I had the Mimosa Champagne and my husband had a Pina Coloda. Both drinks were very strong, very good and worth the money! We ended up sharing the sampler which included fried wings, spring rolls etc. These are some of the BEST appetizers we have had! The food was flavorful, hot and well prepared. The owner spoke to us for a few and she was really nice. The service was a little slower than we would have liked as there were only 3 other people in the restaurant when we arrived who had already been waited on but again WELL worth it. We will definitely return!!

We went in a group of 10. Our order took 50 minutes to arrive. I ordered Tofu - Thai Pad and asked them to make it vegetarian (strictly no meat). It had plenty of scrammbled egg topping which distorted the taste. Also, they served shrimp in the vegetable roll. However, the ambiance is great and the place is neat.

We so desperately want a good Chinese restaurant in Atlanta! Sadly, this isn't it. The ambiance is good. The service is good. Food not so good. They have too many options and I think that is why nothing is good. They have Thai, Japanese and Chinese food. I had Dan Dan noodles which were amazingly bland. My son had chicken fried rice which had a funky burnt flavor. My husband had garlic chicken which was the best of all of our food but still average at best. I will say that we got vegetable spring rolls and they were good. Guess I will still be on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant!

Perhaps offering Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food all at one restaurant stretches the kitchen too much. While my spouse and I enjoyed this restaurant, the egg roll was too greasy and the food over seasoned. Nice decore and maybe we just it the place on a bad night. The place was packed and it was a week night.

Im super thrilled my friend and I gave this place a chance. Great atmosphere, amazing, friendly, and fast service, amazing food and great drinks! All reasonably priced for the level of skill and craft put into each item. Music is amazing too. My starwberry daiquiri was amazing and hand crafted with fresh strawberries 😭. This place was amazing and as a local I'm super glad to be right down the road from it. The owner is an amazing lady from Taiwan with a heart of GOLD! BEST BARTENDER EVER.

My family and I visited on Christmas Day and though they were so busy, food was absolutely delicious and great customer service. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following night for dinner!

On our last night in Atlanta, we decided to go out to dinner at the Grand China Restaurant. It was walking distance from my sons apartment and after checking reviews of this restaurant, we decided to give it a go. The food and staff were wonderful. The servings were very generous and the flavours true to there origins. We were going to order a rice dish on the side, but was told that all dishes came with your choice of steamed or fried rice. We were expecting the dish that we ordered to come out with the rice on the same plate, but was pleasantly surprised to have it in a separate bowl. I would definitely go back to this restaurant on my next visit to Atlanta.

I have been a customer for over 32 years and love everything about this restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We we're staying nearby and interested in take out. Prior TA reviews were mixed but we thought we'd take a chance. Ordered from the Thai menu. Spring rolls we're OK but overall the dishes were quite bland and not particularly fresh. And it was a bit pricey as well.

Ughhhhh.. saw great reviews, so we stopped by. They must have been affected by the staffing shortage, because service was HORRIBLE. No one was rude, but it just took wayyyyyy too long for basics. Drinks... refills, ordering food... we finally get our food and it's bland. Ugh.. after such a long wait, the food came and it was underwhelming. Anyway, maybe your experience will be better. Food looked great however, the taste just wasn't there

Ate there last Sunday. Great food selections for the Chinese, Thai and Japanese pallete. They have recently added well prepared sushi to the menu. Great welcoming atmosphere as the owner visits every table. We have never had a bad meal there.

Went here for my birthday dinner our service was horrible first waitress completely forgot our drink order. Another server came by so we reordered our drinks and ordere dinner. took another 20 mins to get our drinks and another 15-20 minutes to finally get our food Spoke politely to the manager who could’ve given A crap about it and offered us a 10% discount. Then walked away without a care We will not return! Too many other good Chinese restaurants in Atlanta. Would not recommend

I was finally able to make it here with two friends to their new location. We went on a Tuesday evening for dinner and were promptly seated. They provide valet for parking. The place was very nice and clean. We started with the Hot and Sour Soup and Steamed Dumplings, which were both excellent. For dinner, I had the House Special Lo Mein with chicken, shrimp and scallops and noodles. It was great and filling. My friends had the Kung Pao Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken. They enjoyed all of it. The restaurant has several varieties of food to choose from ranging from Chinese to Thai to Japanese. The service was spot on and the prices are fine. The owner was even walking around checking on tables. Overall, it was a very good experience and I definitely plan on going back, soon.

The orange beef is the best and the service is exceptional! If you want great Chinese this is the place. Everything is good!!

We found the restaurant by chance, excellent food, and nice atmosphere. We met the owner who was very personable and humorous. Would strongly recommend a visit.

My niece had a craving for Chinese and I see this restaurant all the time and decided to pull it up online. Low and behold, they serve Thai, Malay, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese food and the prices are very reasonable. I was very surprised because it is located in Buckhead. Nonetheless, I loaded up the nephew and nieces and we embarked on fulfilling their sister's Chinese tooth. We ordered the following- Larb (chicken) - This Larb was different from any other I've had in the past (meat and veggies not minced) but it was very flavorful and delicious. Thai Fried Rice with Beef - It was good but not extraordinary. Orange Chicken - The chicken was deep fried with a slight crust and the orange sauce coated very well. This was probably my favorite dish of the evening. Thai Tea - It was just as good as anywhere else I've had it. I would recommend a visit to please your taste buds. We enjoyed the lady walking around talking to the customers to make sure they were enjoying their visit. Service was very quick once our order was placed. I have a new restaurant added to my list of favorites and it is within walking distance of my residence.

They blocked my review on Google. I ordered from here directly and did not get my food for three hours, at all for that matter. On a Sunday, with no traffic, keep in mind it’s a ten minute drive from me. I asked for a refund and they hung up the phone and said they didn’t want my money. Became very argumentative and refused to issue refund and I had to call the police. Don’t eat here their customers service sucks and their attitude is disgusting. UPDATE: So today I got this text from them. I did tell them their service was trash after I had to get the police involved to receive my refund. Don’t shop here they don’t care about customers. UPDATE: No one cares that your Asian. If I was racist I wouldn’t even support Asian businesses bozzo. And you only refunded my money after I involved the police. The text was sent from you. I never said anything racist to anyone. I only cared that y’all did not deliver food I paid for then refused to give me my money back. I only called the store once after you continued to harass me by sending this text message. To inform you to refrain from contacting me in any way. Rather than playing the Asian-Hate card how about you look at the full context of the altercation. Just because you are Asian doesn’t give you the right to steal peoples money then call them racist for wanting it back. It also doesn’t give you the right to talk to people anyhow you feel over your establishments failure to fulfill orders and expect them not to talk back to you the same way. This would have all been avoided if you cared about your customers and had respect for them. Never said anything racist nor have I been contacted by any police since the incident. Not wanting to eat food sitting at room temperature for three hours is not racist. Reacting to someone calling you names and berating you over the phone for a refund is not racist. I support and donate to BLM, LGBTQ, & Stop Asian Hate movements. Do you? I am a minority myself. So keep crying wolf. What’s next a gofundme? 🤣🤣🤣 My review went viral. No one watches Fox News 🤣

Visiting Atlanta and decided to try Grand China. The reviews are on point! Food was phenomenal! Service and staff were above excellent! Our family had the crab lagoons and shrimp spring rolls as appetizers. Hunan Beef, Chicken chop suey, and the sesame chicken as our entrees. By far the best Chinese food we have ever had! Portion size was fairly large. Prices were reasonable. The lady that owns it was extremely nice and interactive with our children. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Atlanta!

The last time we visited Grand China for dine-in service, one of the managers (owner?) was so excited about our daughter we nearly weren't able to eat. We dined as a large group (8, including an infant) and everyone received exactly what they ordered, but the quality of the food appears to be going down hill over time. We've since ordered delivery (we live in the neighborhood) and have consistently been disappointed. Things seem over seasoned, over sauced or over cooked. I've always relied upon their excellent basil rolls, and the last couple of times I've had them the shrimp was chewy, the basil was wilted and there was an "off" taste to things.

It was traditional restaurant with lot of variety of food available. It carried items not usually seen in other places.

My boyfriend and I ate here a few weeks ago and will certainly go back. I believe the negative comments are from people who cannot get over the "tired" look of this restaurant. I feel the food quality and flavor are more important than being in a flashy, modern building. This restaurant is clean but is old. I must admit I was a little skeptical after driving past all the new buildings in Buckhead only to reach the Grand China Restaurant. There was a little bit of a funny smell inside too which I am almost convinced gives people a bad first impression. My boyfriend commented on it but after eating my dish which included mushrooms, I truly believe the smell is from certain "exotic" mushrooms being cooked in the kitchen. This restaurant makes some of the most delicious and STRONGEST drinks I have ever tasted and I love getting my money's worth! I cannot recall what my boyfriend ordered but I know he will remember because he went on and on about how it was the best Chinese dish he had ever eaten. This is interesting since my boyfriend went to chef school and worked in a few very nice restaurants in Atlanta for a while. He usually comments on the fact a plate lacks a certain flavor but deemed the dish he had as a "perfect combination of ingredients." I was so happy! We will definitely be going back and I wish the owners of this restaurant the best of luck. They have been in business a long time (lots of old newspaper articles from 30+ years ago hanging in their foyer wall). It must be so hard to keep up with modern restaurants that serve cheaply prepared food. People are too interested in appearances and not the quality of the food in my opinion. I am glad this place spends their money on quality ingredients and forgoes an expensive renovation or remodel to the building.

I always enjoy Grand China when visiting Atlanta. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The service is fast and friendly.

It’s over priced Chinese food. I ordered delivery. If I had to sum it up,,, Oily and bland with very little flavor. I ordered the Grand China Beef, Garlic Chicken, Fried Pork dumplings, Hot chicken wings. I ordered the Grand China Beef, in hopes that I would be getting something authentic from this restaurant. It was bland at best. Super saucy and oily. I also asked for it to be spicy, and it wasn’t even close. Probably because they get people who think black pepper is too spicy. The steamed vegetables come on the side with this dish, but adding them didn’t boost the flavor. The Garlic Chicken, was more vegetable, than chicken, vegetables were well over cooked, and it was all swimming in sauce, literally floating. The garlic was no where to be found, until we rinsed off the chicken and vegetables so that we could feed it to our dog, who ate it up no problem, as it was bland enough for him! The Pork dumplings were all dough and very little pork. The pork was a small nickel to quarter sized piece of meat hidden in a dumpling the size of a small empanada. My point, all dough, no meat, and again...BLAND. Hot Chicken wings had the most flavor in this order, but were no where near mild, and they came soggy, and wet. It was a disappointment at best. We ate, maybe half of the meal, because we were hungry, from the 45 minute delivery wait. It’s very over priced bland Chinese. Sorry, but you have to do better in these times when people are being discerning about where they spend their money and getting something of value for it. If bland oily and saucy Chinese food is your thing, by all means, enjoy the Bland China restaurant. On the upside, my fortune cookie said I would be getting lucky tonight! HA!

The restaurant interior is beautiful and provides a very cozy, yet classy environment. The upstairs area is great for parties, as well as, business meetings. They offer an amazing brunch, with authentic Chinese cuisine. The owner is very sweet, and she ensures her guests have a wonderful experience. The food is fresh, packed with flavor, and offers a unique twist on typical Chinese dishes.I plan to bring friends and family in the future. I highly recommend!

This has always been my family's favorite Chinese place and it never fails to delight us. Their menu is extensive and you can't go wrong no matter what you select. This is our place for special occasions and we always look forward to eating there. The owners are so friendly and the staff is most helpful.

You must try this restaurant. Fabulous food, very nice atmosphere in the heart of Buckhead with FREE parking. We had the spicy garlic shrimps. They were huge, delicious, generous portion. Thai scallops were awesome. Large menu, very nice staff. YUMMY!!! Great drinks too.

They are very nice, but it’s the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Got 5 entrées and : appetizers and one was worse than the last. Dumplings were doughy, mushy and were like eating bland, semi-cooked pasta with undetectable vegetables. Rice (white and brown) was soggy, heavy and tasteless and tasted like it was cooked in dishwater. And the 5 entrées (each one a completely different entrée).….all were horrible; the vegetables were limp and bland and the sauces/contents were gummy and had no taste, whatsoever. They all tasted like they had the same sauce.

We discovered this restaurant about 10 years ago on one of our first trips to the Atlanta area. We always go there whenever we are in the city and have not been disappointed. We just got back and yes, we did stop in. As usual the service is great, the menu has been expanded to include Pan-Asian cusine and the owner comes by and speaks to all of her customers dressed to the nines. If you are in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, please check this restaurant out.

Just wanted to let you know, as one who has dined on Chinese food in Hong Kong, NYC and most other major US cities, this is ATLANTA's BEST PLACE FOR CHINESE FOOD!

The atmosphere is always pleasant here BUT most importantly, the food is delicious. I am always pleased with the service. The owner made me a Caribbean Cooler and it was all that!

Just got back from New York and had some truly authentic Chinese food. But I have to say the Grand China is still my favorite - hands down. Great food and a great value.

This was our 1st time here. They had relocated from 2975 Peachtree Rd. NE to a house. It has valet parking and we were promptly greeted and seated upstairs yet there were tables available on the main level and "porch area." Our server (Aitan Sean Lager) was very unprofessional, loud, and rushed us even though we indicated it was our 1st visit. The table next to us indicated the same experience. The portions are hearty but average. No alcohol available.

My son enjoyed meals here with his fraternity (Ga Tech) so we wanted to have dinner as a family. The menu is pretty extensive, we had mixed feelings at the table. My boys enjoyed their Peking duck. My husband and I shared vegetarian dumplings - we found them way too doughy. I ordered from the low calorie section - I had steamed shrimp and tofu with mushrooms - I really liked it (after adding some more spice). My husband had a fried tofu dish that he liked but also needed spice and could have had more vegetables. The hostess/owner came over to our table - she was very nice and personable.

Great Chinese food in a beautiful setting with attentive service. Nice enough for a romantic dinner, casual enough to bring the whole family. The owner is hands on and very friendly. They do Thai and Japanese dishes well too!

EXCELLENT!!!!! Hostess, service and spectacular food. Will always make Grand China our number one choice.

We travel extensively. The 2 best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever found were here and Great Eastern in San Francisco. I make a point to come here every time we travel to Atlanta. It is a don’t miss!

Always excellent service and delicious! The Old Fashioned was the best I've ever had. I've been coming since 1979 whenever I'm in Atlanta!

This is one of my three favorite places for dim sum in Atlanta. The food is always hot and the carts come often enough to enable you to enjoy a full meal. If you are not sure of the ingredients the wait staff will be more than happy to take the time to explain.

I have gotten take out from this restaurant a few times and dined in for the first time yesterday. Overall, I rate this restaurant excellent with respect to its Chinese food, which is the old style Americanized version. I have not yet tried the Thai, Japanese or other (I think I saw Tex-Mex on the menu). These days most Chinese-American restaurant food has gotten worse. There has been the ascent of a few chains - most of them serve horrible food, and the smaller places that have some good and some bad. I have had the wonton soup, pepper beef, lo mein, shrimp with lobster sauce and wings. I like the food a lot - it reminds me of my favorite Chinese restaurants growing up in the suburbs, before there was more of a leaning to more authentic cuisine. The service has always been good. I find the prices reasonable.

Ordered take out - was at most below average food. Don't recommend it.

It was a wonderful chance decision that got us to try this place and we are thrilled we did. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is cool. This restaurant is family friendly and the entrees are huge. Every time we leave with a box of leftovers!

Our family truly enjoyed our lunch at Grand China today. The food was absolutely delicious and I cannot say enough about the Schezwan ginger and garlic shrimp!

This is a nice restaurant, and the food was terrific. I had Pad Thai, and my boyfriend had General Tsao's Chicken. Both were spicy and yummy!

Another couple invited us to dinner at Grand China Restaurant last Sunday night. It has moved down the road on Peachtree to a new and larger location. It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving so it was crowded and the service was not too good, but...but ... the food was. We'll give it a pass on the service. Our friends had delicious vegetarian choices and I had Shrimp with lobster sauce. The shrimp were fresh and large and not overcooked. The dish was very good. My husband had mu shu, pork and they prepared the pork in the pancakes for him. The wine we ordered came in large glasses and was quite good too. All in all we would go back, but not on a Sunday night. A nice atmosphere to dine in.
Great food. Ambiance perfectly fine.
WE really wanted Asian food for dinner. I was a little nervous about the ambiance after reading a few of the reviews, but trust me, this place is good. The food is great, service A+, prices reasonable. Other reviews say the place looks tired. I disagree. There are white tablecloths and everything is very clean. Sure, it isn't ultramodern but Chinese restaurants usually aren't. This is traditional old school Chinese. I'm usually very picky and this was just fine. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be regulars. I understand why and would be a regular if we lived in town.
