You forget that you’re at the airport

By M G |

We had an unexpected layover in Dallas, and ate here twice while staying at the Grand Hyatt. Stellar food (highly recommend the chips/cheso and salmon) and cocktails. I do not typically eat salmon, but it was amazing. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Shoutout to great service and drinks by Cory for lunch, and service by Wendy in the evening.

Consistently excellent

By LebaRJ81 |

We hold Board meetings at the Grand Hyatt DFW because of its central location in the U.S. I've eaten at the Grand Met at least 5 times. The service is impeccable and the food is top notch. You really can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu. This is probably the best restaurant at an airport (by far) that I've ever eaten at. The wine selection is top notch as well.

Try the grilled salmon dishes

By marcyro |

I ate at at the hotel for three meals during my stay. It was pretty good. First, I got the late night menu just before the lounge closed. It was the grilled salmon blt, hold the bacon. It was a perfect grilled piece of salmon on toast with some kind of yummy spread (I normally would request no spread, but I am glad I missed that). It was accompanied by a lightly dressed green salad. Next day, I had the salmon nicoise salad, loaded with goodies and delish. Finally, the charcuterie, which was good but kinda disappointing b/c it seemed to be a little bit skimpy on the toast, olives and cornichons. I also ordered the Phinny wine flight, which the Spanish and Italian selections were very good, the French selection was a little sweeter than I like. All in all, very good. Not your normal hotel food.

Consistently great food and service

Food is fabulous! Excellent service! Great wine selection! (Recommend Honig cab) This is our fourth time here as we stay at the Grand Hyatt before early flights out of DFW.

Excellent Food & Service

By TravelSinceRetired |

During my two recent stays at the Grand Hyatt DFW I had the occassion to eat at the Grand Met for dinner on Father's Day. From the moment I arrived, it was a wonderful experience. Upon arriving I was informed of the difference between the main dining room & the lounge area to make sure I was aware of the choices available. I started with what I can only describe as the best caesar sald I've ever had. It was simply delicious. My main course was a 7 oz Filet that was cooked perfectly (rare) & very tender and flavorful. Service throughout was nothing short of superb. A nice touch was dessert was comp'd in honor of Father's Day ... a nice, unexpected touch. Prices are on the high side but to be expected at a hotel restaurant.

Good Breakfast - Service Lacking

By GBCheesehead |

I had a very nice breakfast today with a cup of coffee and water. My server didn't stop back to ask how my meal was. Four times I set my empty coffee cup and water glass out to the edge of my table indicating I was empty and would let me more...apparently they don't read into my signals as I still had to flag down whatever server I could catch to get a refill. Breakfast was good & the coffee was good...when I could get some! Have not tried lunch or dinner here yet.

One of the Best in Dallas

Had a dinner and next day breakfast. No words can describe the excellence in service at this restaurant. Food is great though variety is limited. Very high tech approach using customer friendly Tablets.

Excellent Fine Dining at the airport

By Adrian L |

I am very surprised at a fine dining restaurant in an airport hotel. I am still not sure how successful this restaurant will be, especially if I am not sure if a Michelin type meal is what I need after a long flight. For example, $70 for a Texas ribeye steak is a bit over the top especially in an airport hotel. Most entrees are $30 and above. However I have to give them credits for good service and excellent food. The menu can use a few more selections, but all the dishes are nicely prepared. You cannot go wrong with any dishes, but I really like my Pork Chop entree, as well as the toffee cake. I am impressed with a choice of steak knives for my meat dish. The service is impeccable, but for fine dining, I feel like the decor needs to be different from the lounge/bar that is in the same area.

Good food, great service

By RhetoricRox |

My suspicion is that everything on the menu is great. We have there eaten several times and everything has been fantastic.

Very interesting menu and not too expensive

By maracuja888 |

Quite a posh (cloth napkins, very comfortable booth) and peaceful restaurant away from the hubub of the airport. My flight was delayed so I went up there for lunch. I had the asparagus appetizer, served with a hard roll and butter. It was excellent. I wanted to have the passion fruit specialty iced tea, but they were out, so I had the mango tea instead. It was a little too sweet, so if I could ever have the pleasure of eating there again, I would just order unsweetened tea. The wait staff were friendly, if a little slow at times, but it was kind of busy. The menu is electronic - you scroll through it like a tablet and can get more detailed descriptions of each item by clicking on it. It isn't a huge menu, but it is an interesting one, and the prices seem quite reasonable for the atmosphere.

Don’t eat here

By David |

So, missed a connecting flight home at the Dallas Fort Worth airport. The Grand Met restaurant in the Grand Hyatt has a swanky New York cosmo feel. I felt like sushi and ordered a sushi roll, and it was not good. I ate it, but it wasn’t good. I was still hungry, so I ordered chips with guacamole. Surely, this nice hotel in the middle of Dallas could make decent guac. But NO, they couldn’t. This hotel gets you because you are so tired and mad that you missed your flight, you just take it because its right here. If for reason, I am in this situation again, I will get an uber and go to another nearby hotel.

Try the Pork Shank

By hjeff2017 |

Incredible meal. I had the filet, which was great, but my wife had the Pork Shank, which was phenomenal. This restaurant is in the Grand Hyatt at terminal D at DFW. We had cauliflower with saffron and the ricotta cheese appetizers. Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation was perfect. Rarley does the food resemble the pictures on the menu, but it does here. Wine and liquor selection was excellent. Waite staff was exceptional. Fantastic dining experience.

DINNER AND BREAKFAST

By SharreG |

For dinner I had the pork porterhouse and it was delicious the gnocchi they only gave you like 3 pieces it was not enough but it was Delicious. breakfast i had Texas Benedict it was spctacular and that sauce was to die for.

Superb Restaurant

By KEITH10 |

We had diner at the Grand Met as part of our one night stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Although likely not required, we had made reservations using the hotel's on line web site a few weeks prior to our visit. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The waitstaff checked on us frequently throughout our meal. The menus are unique as they light up when you open them making them easy to read. There is a nice array of appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts to choose from. We each had a green salad and the salad was both delicious and presented nicely. While we love seafood since we have plans to have seafood over the coming days we chose the organic half size chicken (a larger size was also available) and the chicken was tasty and moist and it was accompanies with vegetables and some type of starch. We each had one roll which was delicious as well. All in all a wonderful meal and one of the best at a hotel restaurant in my opinion.

Late Business Meal

By Rachael929 |

Along with my business partner, we met three colleagues from Malaysia here after all day meetings in Dallas. The atmosphere is very energetic, with all three venues, the lounge, sushi, and restaurant all in line together. The decor is very modern, and being in the international terminal of DFW it feels exciting. The service was really pretty good, prompt, courteous and friendly. The menu was good with quite a few choices, I had the Sea Bass which was quite tasty. I didn't have desert, but my colleges had a chocolate cake with ice cream and banana that looked really yummy. I had coffee, which surprisingly was very good. My only slight compliant would be the noise level, again with all three venues there together it was fairly noisy but understandable, and if I were just to enjoy cocktails and lively conversation it would be perfect but for dinner and business talk, just slightly loud. However, this in no way would influence me negatively about coming here again. The only other thing would be seating and possibly lighting in some areas, which could be a little bright. In fact we sat at one of the tables that it is pictured on the website, it's the table as you are entering, looking all the way down and to the left in front of a preparation area, unless you like being spotlighted as if you are on stage, do not sit here. All in all this is a very nice place with nice people, friendly atmosphere, good service and good food.

Modern restaurant

By Sarah H |

Swanky atmosphere. The food was above average but not out of this world. Service was good. Really cool digital menu.

Delicious!

By Leslie M |

I had breakfast from here twice. Once in our room brought by room service and once in the restaurant. Both times the food was absolutely delicious! Staff is so friendly and accommodating! I also ate at the Sushi bar. All the food was great!

Plant Burger Heaven

By Ged Foley |

Although I am relatively new to the veggie burger world, the Grand Met at Grand Hyatt DFW does a great plant-based variety which is super close to the real thing. First one I have tried which convinced my pallet it was eating a real-meat, heart-attack inducing burger when it was actually, all plant-based. Well done.

Fantastic surprise!

By Lou H |

Never expected to find such a wonderful restaurant in an airport hotel. I came straight back to do this review so I wouldn't forget! The staff did an excellent job on all points. Loved the backlit menus - I didn't even have to dig out my readers. The waiter knew that my husband and I were indecisive between the filet and the sea bass so he asked the kitchen to split the 2 between us. We also split a sea scallop appetizer that was so delicious that we each wished we had our own! The corn, bacon, green apple relish with a popcorn garnish was just as delish as the scallops! I could have eaten a bowl of that instead of a tablespoon. We also split a dinner salad that would probably have been too big for either of us otherwise. The greens were beautiful and crisp and perfectly dressed. The "surf & turf" was absolutely amazing. Both the sea bass and the filet were done to perfection. I could have done without the couscous (with the sea bass) and mashed potatoes (with the filet) but my husband enjoyed his. It didn't occur to me to ask for a substitute but I bet our wonderful waiter could have made it happen. We also split the chocolate ganache dessert and again, the portions and flavors were spot on. This was just a layover on the first night of our vacation but I don't think we could have started out any better!

Great surprise for Airport lounge

By RSutherland |

I got stuck in Dallas after missing a flight. I stayed at the hotel, but came back to the Grand Met for lunch. It is very relaxed but quite busy. The waitress was efficient and knew when to come over and when to leave me to read. The menu in the bar isn't huge, but the burger I chose was excellent. A nice oasis after the frustration and experience of Airline customer service (AA) last 24hrs!

Try the fillet

By Patty M |

The Grand Met focuses on good customer service and great food. We were able to get seated quickly even though the restaurant was busy. Our server told us about their great fillet mignons which we tried. It was a very good cut of meat prepared exactly as we ordered. We would definitely have it again.

Even if pricey, this is a fun place to eat

By BozemanMike |

Boss and I stayed at the Grand Hyatt to catch flights home the following day. This is the 2nd time we've eaten at the Grand Met and were again very pleased. Service is both A++ in skill, but they are a fun and personable staff willing to accommodate any request. The main menu is a bit pricey but since they will also serve off the bar menu, you can get a quality meal at a reasonable price. The digital menu, backlit menus and check are all noteworthy and fun. Not a bad place at all.

Great drink!

By blackbeauty_235 |

I tried a new drink that the bartender suggested. Taste great and the bartender has a great attitude!

Dallas Darling

By House of Siam Restaurant |

Best spot for us so far and it was my selection to stay over for the next 3 days to explore this lovely city.

Delicious lunch.

By efembe |

Had lunch here and chose the Lobster Roll and Fries. The roll was huge and stuffed with Lobster and salad type bits, and I can honestly say that it was superb. Service was of a good standard as well. Menu contains a good selection and is not too over priced.

Great Lunch menu

By Spoon2012 |

Good variety of unusual dishes. We had a group of eleven and all were pleased with the selection. I would recommend the tortilla soup. It comes with chips in the bowl and the soup in a pot for the wait staff to pour in your bowl. Very classy.

Convenient and Delicious

By Beth D |

Have you ever met friends or loved ones at the airport when they were between flights and weren't sure what to do with the time? Head to the Grand Met in Terminal D. It is so convenient not having to leave the airport and the food is delicious. I had the tortilla soup and was surprised to find it was elegant: pureed to a silky consistency with enough spice to be flavorful but kept you coming back for more. The lobster roll was filled with chunks or lobster and just enough mayo that it held together without being mushy. The ancho chicken wrap held perfectly cooked chicken with all the extras (avocado, bacon, arugula) that you'd want with a nice chipotle ranch on the side. Even though he claimed he wasn't hungry, my son-in-law ate the entire Strauss grass fed beef burger. The server was attentive and friendly, and he didn't even need to be asked to bring our grandson his Sprite in a cup with a lid. We sat there for quite a while and never felt rushed.

Amazing food!!

By Tr1p_Adv1s3 |

If you are at the airport and have time to spare or looking for a sit down dinner; this is your place. Anything you order will be great. The chef is great and staff is super friendly. I travel a lot for work and I am in awe at this place.

Interesting Options

By Tellurian |

My husband and I had wine and a cheese and charcuterie platter in the lounge and breakfast in the main restaurant area the next morning. We are not crazy about the "big TV" atmosphere in the lounge area, but if you position yourself strategically, it can be ignored. Service was great at both times. The tableware - glasses, cutlery, dishes, etc. are very stylish, though some of it looks like a dishwasher's nightmare. The choices for the platters and wine were excellent and breakfast offerings were far from ho-hum; try one of the regional specialties if you are are an adventurous diner. The French-press coffee was a treat. Note that if you want to avoid the restaurant scene, you can opt for room service and enjoy the same cuisine. The dining options are very much in keeping with the high caliber of the hotel. It is far better than the average airport experience, so if you are staying here, don't trouble yourself to look elsewhere for a meal.

Very nice menu

By Diana S |

This is a very good hotel restaurant. Nice, varied menu of entree salads and full entrees and a very extensive wine list too.

Menu changes

By drishi |

Had dinner here before and had the pork chop which was excellent. Menu changed and it is no longer available.had a steak instead. Meat was very nice, but came with sweet potato puree..did not add to the taste. No other vegetables. Also had caesar salad without chicken...very soggy...could not finish. Overall meal to value ratio was not great. Bar food may have been. A better choice. Did have drinks at the bar first. Restaurant, however, is convenient.

Some decent dishes but modest portions

By mingfatsai |

The Grand Met is very convenient if you are laying over and don't want to leave the airport. The ambience is airy and relaxing and the staff affable. The food is decent to OK quality but the portions are modest for the price. You are basically paying the same price as you would at a finer dining establishment. I liked the artichoke soup very much and the Niman Ranch filet was flavorful but the portion small ($42). My wife had a mushroom-based appetizer that lacked flavor and her pasta Bolognese was both small and also lacking in flavor ($19). The wine list is modest with mostly Californian offerings.

If it's not five star, it should be!

By cubanirish |

Professionalism at it's best. Notice to detail, excellent service and the food was prepared perfectly. The room was exciting and chic. Well done!

Nice on a layover

By ZiggyPitty |

5 hours to kill and came across this hidden gem. Followed the signs to the Grand Hyatt and straight into delicious food and great wine. Sports were playing on the television and really helped pass the time. Wait staff was friendly and food came out fast. An added bonus was that it is outside of security so no need to clear the lines, just walk up and grab a table.

Good food but overpriced

By John S |

Went here for dinner on an extended layover at DFW. I liked that you could order from tablets. Food was good, decent for an airport restaurant. But it was really overpriced.

Airport Attitude

By aaflyer3M |

I've tried this restaurant twice and won't return. While the server was attentive and informed, the attitude of the hosts was off-putting. The food is adequate but not worth the cost. Leave the airport if you want a fine meal, or just eat at one of the several restaurants in the airport.

Good Food & Fun @ DFW

By TrisBan |

You do not really feel you are inside a hotel and definetely not inside the Dallas airport, is a good place for dinner or cocktails after a long meeting, a friendly service and the option of ordering food from the 3 diferent menus they, while you can sit either in the main restaurant, lounge or sushi table is very convenience.

Superior food and service for an airport hotel

By Fastpitch1 |

Friendly and professional service. Staff go out of their way to make certain you feel like you are receiving personalized service. Don't overlook the food just because it is an airport hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent cuisine

By Robin B |

This is not an inexpensive place to eat. That said, they do use very high end ingredients and every dish seems to be made to order. There were five of us for dinner and we all managed to stay within our per diem. The Asian stir fry with tofu was delicious and filling. Another person had the burger and really enjoyed it. Several people ordered food from the lounge menu although we were in the dining room and this was not a problem. Great service, total courtesy.

Amazing appetizer, the best Old Fashioned anywhere

By LehuaMonsoon |

We stayed in the Grand Hyatt and wanted to get some drinks and something to eat but didn't want to wander into the airport terminal and go through TSA, our flight was also the next day so I don't know how it works to get back in once you go through. Grand Met is connected to the Grand Hyatt on the same floor as the check in lobby. We didn't want to order dinner as the prices seemed a bit high. We just wanted some fancy drinks and appetizers. Drinks: Grand Fashioned $19 So far the best Old Fashioned we have had, anywhere. Drinks: Texas Rose $18 Hibiscus-infused Tito's Vodka, strawberry puree, grapefruit, fresh lemon juice, Provence Rose. It was good, but the Grand Fashioned was better. I really regret not trying the Pecan Old Fashioned, darn. I couldn't bring myself to pay $17 for a margarita, since I had the fabulously refreshing and super strong margaritas for $6 at City Limits earlier for lunch (see my review for City Limits, Sherman, TX). Appetizer: Cowboy Candy $14 Pecan Crust Baguette with whipped cream cheese and candied jalapenos, honey drizzled all over the cream cheese. It was both sweet and deliciously savory; the baguette had a nice smoky flavor that was not overpowering. The size of the appetizer was a very good deal. I also ate a burger and couldn't finish this app by myself, took it to go. Still dreaming of this appetizer, so fabulous! Hand Helds: Impossible Burger $21 Nice option to swap out the meat for a fake-meat burger. Nothing special. The bun a bit greasy, but otherwise OK. Ambience: pretty nice and fancy, pretty dark. We had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. Across from us in the seated bar area were people mostly wearing business suits, to tourists like us in jeans, a family with a stroller waiting for their flight. Bathroom: super nice. One toilet stall for the ladies. Smelled really nice in there. I need to invent an app where you can "search" for a smell. They do use a lot of Balmain products in the hotel room, so it could have been it.

Quite a good restaurant, especially for an near-airport location

By BobHLeverett |

At the Grand Hyatt for meetings, I tried this restaurant three times (there were few other choices unless you entered the airport). Service was uniformly excellent - one night a group of 7, one night a group of 5 and one night by myself. The menu is not extensive - roughly 8 or so main courses, about the same number of appetizers and salads, but this is enough. The wine list is quite reasonable and with many selections. There is also a sushi bar that I will get to later. It is not obvious how to find the menu on the web. One night I tried the filet. It came on a bid of mashed potato with some steamed or boiled spinach. All the flavors were excellent and the meat was cooked to perfection - between medium and medium rare - and very tender. The green salad had a variety of things in it and a simple dressing. The next night I opted for sea bass on a bed of grain with a bit of a spicy dressing - not too strong, but good. The fish was tender and tasty. One in our party tried the cheese at the end instead of a regular desert - three types with wafer crackers and bread and a bit of honey. Quite nice he thought. The peach cobbler was recommended. We tried it. But, a resident of Texas who was with us said it was not a classic Texas cobbler. I found the peaches to lack flavor and be inadequately cooked - they were crunchy. On my third night I again had a filet. This one came a bit to rare for me and although I did not request it, the server rather insisted that they get it right, which they did. At the conclusion of the dinner when the check came, my glass of wine was on the house to compensate for the inconvenience and delay in getting the beef right. Unexpected, but appreciated. There is also a sushi bar and one can also order from that menu. I tried a California roll and it was superb. They claim that all the sushi dishes are fresh, with nothing artificial - none of that extruded fake seafood here. Others in the group ordered all manner of sushi and were delighted with the quality. After dinner I stood for a time and watched the kitchen staff (5) work to prepare the various dinners that had been ordered. This is an open kitchen and you can watch them do everything if you decide to do that. When things are a bit slow, you can ask questions and get a patient response. I enjoyed that on the final night when I had to dine alone. If you are staying on the airport, consider the Grand Hyatt (as opposed to the other Hyatt on the airport grounds) Met restaurant, right on the lobby level. On busy nights a reservation is a good idea because the restaurant is not huge. It is also not cheap.

Grand Met Grand!

By ssporter |

Decided to dine here when we were forced into an overnight layover in Dallas, based on looking at the menu online. Met by an incredibly solicitous hostess at the desk, taken to the table of our choice, and served by Jimmy, a very knowledgeable and personable server. The menu is presented on an iPad, which serves to make navigating easy and facilitates viewing great photos of the food, which actually looks like the photos. We were treated very well, the wine list was serviceable and moderately upscale with some reasonable values, and the food was well prepared with good ingredients and well-presented. We can recommend the umami French fries and the fried brussel sprouts. The sushi selections were great, especially the wagyu beef roll. The manager Anthony was personable, very gracious, and interested in our experience and satisfaction. Overall a very fine experience. Would recommend this as a destination restaurant, NOT just an airport hotel restaurant.

Creative Cuisine and Super Service

By Tellurian |

Thoughtful design touches abound - from softly back-lit menus and checks to substantial flatware and quality glassware. The service is professional and friendly, but not overbearing. Then there is the food - wow. Our shared appetizer was a delightful creation based on sunchokes, the chef's amuse bouche was a rare and beautifully-spiced sliver of lamb. Although neither my husband nor I are big meat eaters, we both indulged in beef entrees; he had the meltingly-tender short rib and I had the filet of beef that was skillfully complemented by shallot soubise chanterelle, swiss chard and a red wine Bordelaise. Although our hunger was well-satisfied, we could not resist sharing a chocolate reveal for dessert for a sweet finish. The only bitter note was the espresso; that alone left room for improvement. Dining here is part of the overall treat of staying at the Grand Hyatt DFW.

Amazing Breakfast!

By BGIWorldTraveller |

I had breakfast here on July 31st, 2014 and was completely blown away by the food and service. I just wanted a light breakfast before my flight and I chose the Apple Pecan French Toast along with coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The food was delightful and the service friendly an unobtrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant for dining if in the DFW area.

Great lunch spot to kill time while awaiting airport checkin

Delicious Steak Bites appetizer, Lamb Burger main course, washed down with Leprechaun Hard Cider (brewed nearby in Houston). Friendly and efficient service by Terissa and Laura.

GOURMET FARE AT AN AIRPORT HOTEL---WHAT ARE THE ODDS???!!!

By drj999999 |

My wife and I had the privilege of eating here while staying overnight at the Grand Hyatt recently. The culinary offerings are expensive, but WELL WORTH IT. We dined on sea bass, crab and caviar, roasted chicken tortilla soup, sorbet, and delectable chocolate. The extraordinary food was accompanied by amazing service. We sat close to the kitchen and watched various food offerings prepared. It was obvious that nothing came out of the freezer and was merely rewarmed. Our dining experience was one of the best ever. We highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant.

Awful and rude

By Beth S |

For reference, we walked in straight off the plane and we are young travelers. that being said, not the best service the lady that served us was only nice when the check came. Had to ask for the free bread basket because they were not going to just give it to us. I also got sick from the food, I ordered the flatbread pizza with the three kinds of cheese with a side of fries and had one corn fritter. Overall felt a little judged and overall offputting.

Wonderful

By geninva |

Lobster Mac and Cheese was the best food I have eaten. It made me think I was eating a little comfort food and also a luxury meal. It was not just little tiny pieces of lobster. There were 2 full claws plus other pieces. The huge bowl of Mac and Cheese with Lobster was enough for 2 people. YUM!

excellent food, convenient pre-flight location

By sazeracker |

I usually try to eat before arriving at DFW, but on a recent flight that wasn't going to happen. Not really wanting more typical airport food I decided to get dropped off at the Grand Hyatt and give Grand Met a try, even though I was a little short on time. But the server managed to get me a couple very nice apps in short order. The Sous Vide Halibut Cheeks (red curry puree, coconut jasmine rice foam, puffed rice, micro greens) were decidedly small, but decidedly good. The Braised Veal Cheeks (cauliflower puree, grape chutney, spiced hazelnuts, chives) was a bit more substantial, but also decidedly good as well. While the wine list tends toward fairly pedestrian offerings, careful selection can yield something decent. While prices are a little on the steep side (but you *are* at the airport), the service is good and the food could certainly hold its own even at an off-airport location. And it's a quick trip to your gate, even if taking the train to another terminal.

Excellent food and service

By S A |

The tortilla soup and sushi are excellent. Wine and beer selection also very good. Service gives a fine dining feeling which will make you forget you are in an airport. The ambience, decor and design are also excellent.

Great food and great service

By llewellyn W |

My first visit to this restaurant.... and it was impressive. They have these rather heavy backlit menus but a rather cool tablet to help you choose. Chose the red chicken soups and followed with scallops - and finished with the Valrhona chocolate desert. We were given some lovely home made bread, a pre starter and also before we left some simply delicious petit four. My food, a bit salty if I was to be picky, was cooked well, had great flavours an the desert sublime. Good job guys.... will be back!

Really imaginatve food.

By Donna H |

We tried the Jamon iberico., itbwas a nice appetiver with two pieces for each of us. I expected a strong flavored ham, but it was so mild that the mustard overehelmed it. The breads were scrumptious, I really liked the bread that was stuffed with ham and cheese. The beef fillet was the best that I have ever had, it was served over interesting side dishes. We had the ice cream/browine/mousse dessert. They added some popcorn to the mousee, the aftertaste exploded with flavor!

Excellent

By Bornabrit |

Staying in the Hotel we decided to go down and dine in the restaurant , we ended up sitting in the lounge area , at the bar. Our bartender's name was Scott and he was excellent, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I ordered the sea bass and my husband ordered the vegetable stir-fry with added chicken. Both were cooked to perfection and nicely presented. A lovely restaurant and lounge Highly recommend.

Food looked great

By drishi |

While staying at the hotel recently my wife and I ate here. Was noisy due to uncontrolled kids making a lot of noise. Wait staff were attentive and informative. Ordered a sample of the tortilla soup...too spicy and tomato based? Did order the hamachi appetizer. Although the restaurant has a number of sushi items, this was not very good. Color and appearance of the tuna was not very appealing. Tasted warm and strange, (we eat a lot of sushi in California), but ate all three pieces. A Caesar salad was shared, also somewhat funny sour-tasting, but seemed fine. The Pork steak was very tasty and prepared well. Came with a chèvre/pea/morel sauce that was creamed. Had a substitution of potatoes instead of the gnocchi. The sauce also had a somewhat sour taste, but appeared ok at the time. Left the hotel in the morning and by late morning I became ill. I am a physician and recognized the signs of tainted- food GI issues which lasted several days. My wife had no problems, but I ate twice as much of the meal. Could be coincidence, but... Wish this report could have been different. I guess there is no way of knowing what the issue was.

Pre-Christmas Stuffing

By Phoebe P |

Amazing service! I can't possibly brag enough about Lynda our server. The food was very good. The wine selection was good. Great way to end a stressful year before heading off to our Caribbean Christmas vacation. Well done!

Wonderful Breakfast

By disabled_jetsetter |

The breakfast here was delicious - everything you could possibly want, and all sourced locally. They also do "specialty coffee" on request which is good if you find standard american coffee pretty bland.

Great Steaks

By Paisan P |

As a result of our flights being cancelled four of us ended up staying at the Grand Hyatt. We decided to eat at the Grand Met and are we glad we did. The service was outstanding from the time we entered the restaurant until we left. Three of us had steaks and the were cooked to perfection and full of flavors. We have eaten all over the world and we all agreed these were some of the best steaks we have ever had. The Cesar salads were all crisp and seasoned well. This place is very pricy but the service and food was good.

Celebrating friends birthday

By Carina R |

I thought I share my disappointment with Grand Hyatt Grand Met. Saturday August 5th a couple friend of mine celebrated their 59th birthday. The food was a huge disappointment. Some of us had filet mignon and some had seabass. The filet mignon was salty, and my seabass had chaoti, and I think it was barley. Both chaoti and barely were not cook. Infact I did not go to sleep that night because I severe stomach ache. Then our table did not have tablecloth and the leaft of our table was not balanced and my friend got hit in her knee. We had a party of 12 and we were supposed to have a private room but instead they put us in the corner. The whole time that we sitting there the private room was empty. Grand Met did not have the label of a 5 star Restaurant. For my money I could have done better by going to another restaurant. I would never recommend this place.

Excellent DFW Fine Dining

Well executed, fundamental menu choices are a hallmark of this restaurant. Coupled with a comprehensive wine selection and dessert variety, this restaurant can make a variety of occasions a success. Coupled with direct access from Terminal D, this is one of the better airport restaurants available anywhere. Expect steak, fish, lamb and chicken complemented by a good salad section. The food preparation depends on executing the core entree with excellence and accompanying with tasteful and fresh vegetable and potatoes. On this occasion we both had the lamb loin. Lean and medium rare preparation was a great, well presented choice choice with fine quality fare. The restaurant is well staffed. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The ambiance is pleasant, simple elegance and conversation is easy.

Delicious, but like eating in a haute cuisine restaurant, not a hotel

By Janae L |

The food was tasty, rich and beautiful in appearance. But not what I expect in a hotel restaurant (more relaxed). I would entertain business guests here, but never bring a child.

What a keeper

By Terence M |

If I lived in Dallas, this restaurant would be on my list of favorite eating establishments. The lounge appetizers and drinks are exceptional. And for dinner, no reason to look past the Filet - it is fantastic. Can't believe this is a hotel restaurant.

Excellent food

By bmoc1576 |

Sat at the bar on a Sunday evening. The bartender was very friendly. Ordered the steak bites, house smoked ribs, and edamame from the lounge menu. The food was excellent. Had the Mondavi Pinot Grigio made exclusively for Hyatt, delicious! FYI this is the only bar in the hotel, not cheap but very good.

An unexpectedly good airport restaurant

By Gabriel H |

I had a two-day meeting at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport Grand Hyatt hotel and enjoyed the surprise of finding the restaurant much better than expected. Upon arrival, the first evening, I was seated promptly and served with skill and efficiency. The selection of wines by the glass was good. I started with seared scallops, which were served on an attractive platter and artistically displayed with a few touches on the side. Good flavor, perfectly seared, leaving an excellent aftertaste. My main dish was a Steel Head, which was about 6 oz, evenly cooked, moist inside, slightly crispy on the outside. As shown on the photo, there was no real accompaniment, so you need to order a side dish, especially if you are hungry. For dessert, a generous portion of apple cobbler was the perfect ending. The next evening, we dined there in a larger group, perhaps 14-16 people. Service was again friendly, efficient and prompt. I tasted the Butternut Squash Soup, perfect for the season and well-seasoned at that. My Braised Pork appetizer was delicious, a bit crispy outside and moist and tender inside. The portion was generous and a bit heavy, especially since the roasted carrots had seen a fair amount of duck fat before reaching my plate. The parsnip puree and pickled dates were a great accompaniment. The Niman Ranch Lamb was a 6 oz braised neck, again perfectly prepared, also served with carrots and a bean puree. The wine selection is very good, there is something for every taste..

Service to order!

By jtp4 |

We ate here because we were staying at the Grand Hyatt. We had the filets, which were very excellent, and cooked just to our specifications. I wanted asparagus, which are so often offered grilled at fine restaurants. I discussed the options with them, and requested them steamed. They were outstanding! Everything was good here. If you were not in the airport for travel, the parking fee would be high, but that is out of their control.

Convenient

By AUKTourist |

Good range of meals to choose from, quality of the products is evident, but it is extremely expensive even by airport standards.

Good food at good place

By Nauman A |

This restaurant is offering different types of food items for users. You can have many types of foods and get them at this restaurant and the environment is very good. Professionals are available all the time to help you in getting the desired food items.

Delicious

By jacquelinem449 |

I wanted a quick dinner and the menu at Grand Met offered exactly what I wanted. I had a delicious soup and veggie side dish, was done quite quickly and satisfied. The service was efficient and friendly, en environment pleasant. I hear the sea bass is delicious too!

Very Nice

By GregoryOrangeCounty |

Great service, innovative food, great location. The ambiance is modern. The menus actually light up when opened. (Nice touch)

Another Home Run

By Teammcwilliams |

I have eaten at this restaurant on several other occasions and every time it is great. The service was attentive and friendly, the server was there when we needed him and anticipated our needs well without being intrusive. The corn soup was fun, it is poured table side out of a tea kettle. We ordered a cheese board with interesting cheese and we were served an amuse bouche as well. the Filet was tender and cooked correctly, the pork chop was also very good, the kids both had kids steaks as well, they were a goo portion size at a very reasonable kids menu price.

Great Eats while at DFW

By FuzzyBeesMom |

Exemplary service and beautifully presented food make dining here an unforgettable experience. The dishes are almost too gorgeous to eat! Yes, it's on the pricier side, especially for an airport restaurant, but the quality justifies the cost. The chef's expertise is evident, and while substitutions may not always be accommodated, this is a testament to their commitment to culinary excellence. This is one of those rare places where you can enjoy a fine dining experience without leaving DFW, and I can't wait to return. Since my first visit which is based on this review, I came back 3 more times during my travel through DFW!

Excellent food, ambiance and superb service

By SriniV5 |

This one is a hidden gem indeed since it is in the airport but outside security. Convenient if someone is passing by DFW and wants to meet someone, or is staying for a lay over, etc. Will definitely return here ASAP. Love the ambiance and the quality of service. Excellent chefs

This place is wonderful.

By cmcfong |

I was part of a large group staying at the Hyatt. We ate breakfast and lunch at teh Grand Met on two days and we stopped in at the bar (and chocolatier) several times. The food was outstanding. The wild salmon salad nicoise was my personal favorite, but everyone in the group was happy with their choices. The servers are very friendly and accomodating. I was amazed at how agreeable everyone was (separate checks? no problem...group seating? no problem....gelato for breakfast? no problem) This is a terrific place to enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Outstanding Food and Stellar Service

By TchandTrvl |

We were unexpectedly stranded overnight at DFW and decided to check into the Grand Hyatt. The Grand Met restaurant is attached to the hotel. For four days, we received absolutely stellar service from our server, Luis Quevedo, as well as the most amazing food we ate while in Texas. Every question we had was answered in detail, the sous chef brought out for special orders and our children treated as though they were the guests of honor. Luis was willing to get us anything on the menu with adjustments, as well as anything NOT on the menu (my husband was craving a huge burger the fourth evening there and they turned one out that beats every burger he's ever eaten...complete with an assortment of carmelized relishes and handmade everything!). Luis even remembered our preferences between visits (we stayed for 2 days on way to vaca, then had another layover a week later...at which he immediately brought the drinks we'd ordered the week before!). The food...the food! From the delicate, super fresh asparagus soup to the phenomenally seasoned filet to the key lime kefir panna cotta topped with dragon fruit...there is NO way to go wrong here! We are hoping to fly through DFW again very soon and make a beeline for this wonderful surprise within an airport/hotel!

Saw a professional food photographer that was taking pictures for a magazine when I arrives. Pretty interesting.

By alexhope59 |

Great food. Good service. Server messed up all of the credit card transactions though. The manager of the hotel may need to train their staff a little better on how to process credit cards with the chip readers...

Very good, Typical of a full service Hyatt.

By Wayfarer58 |

Food atmosphere and service were the best. I had superb seafood dishes both nights. The service was also excellent.

nice, but pricey, lunch

By TheRealAwaxy |

Had lunch here soon after arriving. The menu is presented on a tablet of some sort, but an actual server takes your order. While the prices seemed high for most of the lunches, the Lobster Roll looked to be a good deal at $18, So I ordered it. It came on a brioche roll instead of a traditional roll so maybe was smaller than most. The flavor was excellent, if a bit unexpected, as there was no mayonnaise as a binder. It was more like an aioli. The fries that came with it were quite good. The servers worked as a team and were helpful and friendly.

Great Service great food DFW Airport.

By John H |

I happened to have a connecting flight at DFW Terminal D. I felt very famished with a need of some gourmet food. I view that the Grand Hyatt was right in my terminal and decided to see if they had a good restaurant. When I walked toward the front desk I notice that I could not miss this amazing sitting room in the back and was informed this is our restaurant. The decor was the decor was amazing. When I sat I received great service from the waitress. "Jessica". I order a salmon BLT and it was amazing. I would have never combined something that exploded like that in my tasted buds. Not only the food was amazing the service was extraordinary. Between Jessica and who I believe was the manager name Pablo made my experience the best a delayed flight could have cause. From now on every connecting flight I will go to the Grand Met. Kudos on th service. Great food great service. The best

Fast lunch

By Danny L |

Fast late lunch, Was good, I had the quacamole with chips, flatbread with pork , my son had ham sandwich, mac and cheese was good, huge fries, coke cola, diet coke. Decent lunch.

Great Steaks

By John L |

Very convenient if staying at the Airport. I knew the steaks would be excellent 9they were), but the Sushi Bar was comparable to many West Coast establishments (I'm from Seattle, so I know good Sushi.) Wine menu was a bit spartan and the wait staff was attentive but not very knowledgeable about wine parings with food.

Not worth the prices we meijjim

By Sylvia G |

We ate twice and selected various stuff to mix it up. The lobster macaroni was good but super salty. The burger and fries were good. The tacos come in 3 and you eat them in 1-2 bites. Super small and not worth the $15. The private dinning has a bit more selection but again. For the amounts of food you get. You are better off getting a pass and eat inside the airport. Or just go outside the airport and get good food, lots of it and pay way less than here. The private dining is room service. Pizza says sausage but you get tomatoes, bell peppers, sausage slices, pesto sauce and super crunchy edges. The bagel, well that was super hard and chewy. This is the 1st time I have had any issues with the food. They are usually on point with what they serve. I forgot to mention. Kids meals are decent for kids and Turkey burger is regular size. Does take a bit long to get food and I was not of fan of ordering on a tablet.

Expensive choice in DFW airport

By Frank P |

Nice business decor in the restaurant and great service throughout the meal. Ordered the grilled swordfish and cooked perfectly without getting tough. A good choice away from the fast food inside DFW but at a cost.

Unacceptably Poor Hospitality

By Rajitha J |

No sense of hospitality. Were staying at the hotel and wanted to have some good dinner. (grand hyatt). We were not attended to,even after we waited for quite a while. Eventually when we got the attention of a server, he was rude and we did not feel like dining there. Felt insulted. Have never expetienced such insensitive attitude from a hospitality place.

Sunday Supper

By jjones2Boston |

I had a cheese burger and fries and a ice tea, waitress was nice and grand met was vert laid back got food in a timely manner, and also had a dessert which was ok

Great Food

By Laura B |

We stayed at the hotel overnight to catch a morning flight. We ate in the lounge as the restaurant was more expensive. The food was excellent. There were six of us and we ordered a variety and shared. I recommend the Texas Onion dip w/homemade chips, Chicken avocado wrap, burgers, fries and caprese flat bread. Everything was so good. It was a little pricey but not out of line with what you would expect at a hotel restaurant. The draft beers were very good and there were several unique choices. In the lounge areas they have high top tables and sitting groups with couches and chairs. There were beautiful flowers on the tables.

Nice Restaurant

By Mark P |

This is a very good restaurant, and by the standards of airport hotels it is among the best. He setting is pleasant and fairly quiet, the menu is varied, the food is good and the cocktails are strong. Service was pretty quick too.

Hmmm

By h1ll84 |

Food was ok, drink were good, service was good HOW EVER we got told by the manager on duty (Michelle) that my 17mo old niece was disturbing the other diners...........there were no diners just ppl drinking....rude, neither I nor my friends or family will return

Great restaurante inside DFW Airport

By MicheleDias |

Polite and helpful staff, delicious food, beautiful layout, calm atmosphere. I'm vegetarian and they kindly did the changes on my dish I have asked for.

Great Hotel Restaurant

By sm122097 |

I had to meals here, dinner and breakfast. Both were really well done. For dinner, the sword fish special was great. I really enjoyed the preparation and what accompanied it. The crab was not exactly what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it. A decent wine list, very broad in selection, but not a lot of depth. Breakfast was good and fast.

bar service and drinks were terrible

By Allen A |

came by here on a connection in dfw and sat in the open area in front of the bar. Had to seek out server each time we wanted to order something. Drinks were expensive, weak and badly mixed (long island was all sweet & sour mix). Overall not a great experience.

Fantastic steak 14oz strip loin the best

By Juan E |

We stayed at the grand Hyatt for flight cancellation. We came with our two kids and we love it, it is pricy (expensive) but quality food our steak was fantastic the spirits too we share one 14 oz steak between my wife and myself and was more than enough the kids built their own sub.

Amazing service great breakfast

By TX0810 |

I've had breakfast here several times with several family members the kids love the breakfast selection fruit skewers and pancakes. I like the French press coffee. The market omelet is amazing i get it with all the veggies. But most of all they have great service and attend to your needs. Will definitely be back again.

Utterly Amazing Experience

By Andrew |

What a wonderful surprise find this was. Normally one thinks of an airport hotel restaurant as the sort of establishment you only dine at as a last resort if you are snowed in. The Grand Met is a destination all by itself. Elegant, modern setting, open kitchen and romantic ambience just add to the amazing cuisine and superb service. This is a true fine dining experience. The filet mignon was the best I have had in recent memory. Innovative preparation and everything from the bread to dessert was spectacular.

Great oasis if your flight is delayed

By CathyRickAdventure |

With a flight delay, we had a number of hours to wait at DFW. Even though you have to leave security, if you have more than 2 hours to wait, it is worth the hassle of going through security again. I have had lunch at the Grand Met many times (usually have interview candidates who fly into DFW meet me there for lunch). The food is good and the service is never rushed. On this occasion we chose to sit in the bar area and have drinks and snacks. The cheese plate and dried meat plates were excellent and more than filling for two people just wanting a light dinner. Service is very good and they do not rush you at all. It is much more comfortable than sitting in the terminal.

Ham and Cheese Cuban!

By Art J |

Good wine list at dinner. Loved the Ham and Cheese Cuban Sandwich. Comfortable, modern, huge TVs, one with spectacular outdoor scenery videos. Oysters served at 5:30. This morning at breakfast excellent Chilequilles con Pollo.

Airport Hotel Dining like no other!

By DEEV |

I am not typically a fan of hotel airport dining. I had to stay at the airport because of an early flight the next morning and needed a quick bite for a late lunch at the bar. Was I ever surprised!!! The guacamole was very very fresh! I am really picky when it comes to food overall but especially when it comes to anything Mexican, as I am a restaurant owner. So for me to say it was excellent says alot! I also had a poke bowl and it was exceptional! Next time I have to stay at the Grand Hyatt I will not worry about getting a great meal right downstairs!! Actually looking forward to it!

Great food at the Grand Met

By Twohappyguys |

We had dinner in the hotel. The food was just wonderful. Enjoyed a bottle of wine. Their wine list is really fine for all prices. Could not have enjoyed it more.

Excellent

By Paul |

It is always a surprise when you stay in a hotel and discover the restaurant is really good! The room is really nice with a good atmosphere. The service professional and friendly. The first wow was the menu which when opened is backlit so you can actually read in dim light! So clever yet obvious... They also have a tablet app they provide you so you can see all the food and drink they have with photos and in whatever language you desire...great use of technology. The food itself was flawless...beautifully cooked and presented. I normally find fault with something but not this time. Highly recommended!

Great team dinner~!

By Alex T |

The private room was great for our team dinner. We had a large group and did an onsite team dinner and while the menu was limited, which made me very skeptical, the food was AMAZING!

A quick dinner

By Ron L |

I ate in the attached M Lounge as they are one and the same, use the same menus, etc. Very nice decor, very pleasant experience. My Bloody Maria certainly was excellent and including the mix which is freshly made, not out of a bottle. I wanted something simple and chose their turkey club and this was truly different. It was very light, came with a fried egg, round brioche bun and a side salad. Perfect! My only comments are that the prices of everything are very high here. Yes, they have a captive audience and the quality is high but prices are probably what you'd expect in New York City. I will certainly return.

Way more than an airport hotel restaurant

By Heather M |

Wow! After a frustrating travel day and unexpected need to stay overnight in Dallas, our experience here was a welcome treat. The design, service and creative and delicious food were top notch! We had the Caesar salad, scallops, steak frites and chicken, and the well-oiled highly capable kitchen nailed all of it!

Steak, Texas Burger, or Cuban Sandwich - All Were Excellent

By ve3ikv/w6 |

Elmer will look after you for a wonderful dinner, and Victoria will as well for breakfast. Order a three-olive Bloody Mary made to perfection and relax after checking in. Loved it!

Get the bone marrow!

By Bellatako |

If you ever find yourself stuck in the Dallas airport - number 1: stay at the Hyatt at the airport. And number 2: eat at the restaurant at the Hyatt. I had to stay here for work and had a delicious meal for dinner (given really the only other option was chain food in the terminal or taking a cab far away to an outside restaurant). For having few options, the grand met is a beacon of good food. The bone marrow appetizer was delicious. It's more of a fine dining option than some may consider while waiting for a flight but if you have the time and means, I would definitely recommend.

Excellent Food & Service

By Sue C. |

My husband and I had dinner & breakfast while staying at the Grand Hyatt. For dinner we decided to eat at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our food was delicious. My husband had the wings and an order of tacos. I opted for the marinated melons salad& the Texas Red Mole. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel. Our coffee was French Pressed and delicious. My husband had the Croque madame and I opted for just a bagel. Our waitress Lena was very efficient and our food arrived quickly. We will definitely dine here again the next time we visit.

Good Breakfast but Looooong Wait

By banjo518 |

This is my second time here for breakfast in the past 6 months. The food and smoothie were good but you need a lot of time in order to eat here. Both times I had seen guests leaving prematurely because of the long wait. They have to realize that people who stay here have flights to catch and cannot spend an eternity here. Our breakfast came a little over 25 minutes.

Awesome Food!

By Joya S |

We were at the hotel for one night and everyone in our family was starving! There were plenty of options....and the food was amazing!

Dinner first night

By Melba C |

I had the Filet entree and it was divine with a glass of Pinot Noir. Great looking restaurant and great staff!

Fantastic dinner

By William B |

My wife and I are here the night before our flight to Europe. Just to get it out there: it's not inexpensive, but I think it was worth the price. We started out with a wedge salad, with a delectable blue cheese dressing. For an entree, my wife had the fillet and I had the lamb. We each had a glass of Malbec, all excellent. The waitstaff were all very attentive and helped make this a very special beginning to our vacation.

Fine Dining, at a cost.

By John C Hamilton |

Excellent decour and peaceful atmosphere and great service from all the staff. With a five hour wait at DFW airport this was a perfect way to spend two hours or so. Superb food, beautifully presented and served in a really nice restaurant area of the hotel and just upstairs from the airport. Quite expensive for what we got but would love to go back sometime.

Consistently high quality service and food

By theheadland |

I travel through DFW annually and have spent about 10 x 2-7 hour layovers at the Grand Met over the last 8 years. Its always good, menu is different each time, refurbishes every 3 years or so. Staff are always friendly and skilled.

High-End Dining at DFW

By Gabe607 |

This restaurant is located in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt DFW. There is the Grand Met Dining Room and the Grand Met Lounge, the latter having more casual fare. I did have breakfast at the Grand Met Dining Room and the chilaquiles were excellent, and my server and other wait staff were impeccably trained.

Quality meal

By Violet B |

Although their menu do not offer a lot to choose from, their dishes are organic, tasty & the right portion. Breakfast offers 100% orange juice and their coffee do not leaves a bitter taste at the end. Very good service and comfortable seating.

Family got sick

By Jason F |

We ate here on January 12 for dinner with another couple, my wife and one in the other party ate the Chicken Wrap both became ill. We didn’t inform the restaurant in the morning as we were on a flight to Antigua the next morning. On the positive side I had the Lobster Roll which was delish.

At the Grand Hyatt DFW terminal D

By fudgbug |

The Grand Met is not your typical airport restaurant. Outstanding, friendly service from Mike and the perfectly cooked medium rare and tasty beef filet are a very pleasant memory. Mike also makes a great dry martini! Next trip through DFW we'll once again visit this restaurant. Easy access from Terminal D.

The best place to kill time at DFW

By Dave H |

Best burger and fries I have ever tasted! Washed down with a Dallas Sour cocktail. This place not only has great food but the service is amazing. I really appreciated the friendly wait staff who made my brief stay so enjoyable, I felt compelled to write a positive review. I hope I will be back soon, I'd actually go out of my way to visit this place again.

Food always excellent here

By djfowler |

I have eaten here many times. If I stay at the Hyatt Regency I also eat here as the service and food is worlds apart. It is the hidden gem at the airport. When I eat at the bar here I especially like getting the fresh sushi which is excellent, especially if you engage the chef and get him to make you something special. I like to start with sushi and then end with something from the restaurant (especially the lamb). The restaurant food is always consistently good. I have entertained clients here and friends and have always been happy. Guests are often surprised that the food is so good for a hotel. Highly recommended.

Sad breakfast scene!

By Claire H |

It is time for the Hyatt to improve their breakfast menu. Nothing to eat if you are vegan. Yes there is oatmeal but they don’t have plant based milk but just soy. Theses days , oat milk or even cashew milk are routinely available. Avocado toast, or similar would be a nice addition.

So Sad!

By Geekontherun |

This hotel I stay in just for the Suchi, it was VERY disappointing! I was staying at the Hyatt Regency but called to order Suchi and went to pick it up. I ordered the same thing I eat every time. The portions were 1/2 of the normal size. They typically were larger pieces of the tuna rolls. They typically are methodically the same size. What I received was the small rolls I get at a normal suchi restaurant. Typically, when I eat this it is so fresh tasting. Either they have changed suppliers which is what I am thinking. It was not as "fresh" as I have had in the past. The rolls were much smaller and were not methodically the same size. I was disappointed to say the least and will think twice before I go back as it was average at best. Service wise I called and told them I would be there to pick up at a particular time. It was not ready and I had to wait for it. VERY disappointing.

Exception to the Hotel Restaurant Cliché

By Roberto A |

Stayed overnight and had an excellent dinner. Outstanding filet and sea bass; one of the best we have eaten. The sea bass was soft as butter. The dessert was superb. The service is excellent especially from our waiter Luis. Traditionally we try to keep out of restaurants inside hotels, but this one is a great exception. A must for anyone staying overnight in Dallas.

Good Food but very vey Expensive

By waterdance |

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt DFW. I ate at the Grand Met for breakfast. The waitress recommended the French Toast to me. It was a big thick slice, It was good but not filling and not worth the value of the money especially after tax and tip that my money would have been better spent at one of the other airport venue sights. The french toast costed me $17.32. $20 after tips.

Beats Eating and Drinking IN the airport

By HerTriness |

We didn't have a full meal here. We had drinks and appetizers while we waited for our son-in-law to pick us up after we were stuck here on a connecting flight. If we ever get stuck here again, I think we'll recommended dining in.

Very fancy place

By OWJohn |

Great menu with many interesting choices. Waiter was friendly and attentive, but messed up one of our orders. Food took a very long time, over 30 minutes to prepare. What we did get was very tasty and well presented.

Pleasant surprise

By Offisland |

My mom and I had to layover in Dallas and we weren’t sure looking at the menu if it was for us. Turned out to be fabulous! Perfect portions excellent quality food and a super waiter Chase who must see an endless stream of customers but took time to recommend different dishes. Mom said the steak was one of the best she has had.

Great breakfast food and service at the Grand Hyatt DFW

By HMac_2013 |

When we have to stay overnight at DFW we're happy to find a room at the Grand Hyatt at Terminal D, not least because of the fine food and service at the Grand Met. This time we were too late for dinner but had time for breakfast before heading to our departure gate, and we were delighted by the food, the excellent service and the whole look and feel of the place.

I guess average depends on the places you normally eat, but this is not a fine restaurant

By barely alive |

It’s been a while since we’ve been to a Grand Hyatt, but the hotel isn’t grand and neither is this restaurant. It looks a little like a medium level steak house with people yelling in the open kitchen, some people dressed like they are gardening, and a very casual atmosphere. The prices are high, especially the wines. You can get items ranging from sandwiches and salads to entrees. Since we suspected the high prices wouldn’t get us quality foods we went with a garden salad and fish and chips. The salad was good and fresh but almost all lettuce. The fish was acceptable but I normally eat better. My wife said it tasted artificial. The fries OK. The wine list was limited especially for wines under $50- . Their reasonably priced wine, Canvas, is for people who don’t know wine. Well, I guess if you are stuck at the airport it’s better than the alternatives we saw.

DFW Weekend

By dpm1982 |

I spent three nights at the Grand Hyatt DFW over Thanksgiving and all three nights I had dinner all three nights from the Grand Met. I stayed there a month ago for two nights and had breakfast and dinner there then as well. The food is fantastic and the staff were very helpful. The staff are very nice and helpful. I loved the crab cakes and the steaks.

Great food, service and atmosphere!

By Canadians_who_travel |

I overnighted at Grand Hyatt DFW and ate at their restaurant. I had the: "Blue Crab And Tuna Tempura", "Grilled N.y. Striploin 10 ou." and for dessert the "Honey Crisp Apple Cobbler". It was all great especially the tempura appetizer. We had a bottle of Ravens Wood 2005 Sonoma County red wine at 38$. The waiter brought out fresh bread, excellent is all I could say. The meat was cooked to the requested temperature. The tuna tasted extremely fresh with just a dash of ginger aioli on it. Although it is on the expensive side, compared to many other restaurants where I would have paid as much, the meal here was worth the money. You could pay less and enjoy some of the other restaurants at DFW, but this place is worth trying.....you be the judge. The only point I did not appreciate is how much they push taking many items and very expensive bottled water. The waiters came by too often to fill our wine glasses, but did not fill the water glass. I would return but not on a regular basis.

For an airport hotel the Grand Met rocks!

By aaatravelgal25 |

I've had the chance to eat at the Grand Met for business a number of times while staying at the Grand Hyatt. This hotel restaurant has as good food as any stand alone restaurant. I almost always get the filet-it's thick and juicy and really good tasting. Their wine list is varied with a lot of good options. If you're on an expense account-just go for it-it's definitely worth the price.

Amazing food and fantastic attention

By snowweisz |

I'm at the Dallas airport doing my hella long layover and I stop by the Hyatt lounge where I'm told I can pause for a relaxed drink and maybe a quick bite. My list of priorities is mostly water because I just got off the plane and I'm super thirsty. Turns out the place is hella packed with a huge wave of people that were sort of all together, but I was chill because I'm in no rush. 20 mins go by though and no one comes over to wait on me. I was about to unplug my computer and leave because despite my having time, I'm tired from my plane and super thirsty. Then Terrisa came over and asked me if I had ordered already. I told her what happened and how I was just about to leave. Omg, did things turn around! Both Terrisa and her manager came over and apologized, treated me to lunch and dessert. And this lobster mac n cheese is FANTASTIC! I felt so valued as a customer despite that initial misstep. Come over here if you're at this airport because wow, that was such a quick turnaround. The place is lovely, very relaxed and very reasonable prices because the food was fantastic and well worth the price. Thanks for setting this long layover off to such a good start!

Great Restaurant

By raynecc |

Grand Met has great staff and great food. It was a perfect ending to a long day of traveling. The Mushroom Flat bread was my favourite item on the menu.

Surprisingly great restaurant

By Dean S |

You don't usually find this good of a restaurant inside an airport. This is one of the best. The food was superb and the service outstanding. Has a busy vibe but everyone fits in.

Loved it!

We celebrated my son's birthday. The chef created a very special cake for my son. The cake was delicious, the food was very tasty, and the server was super nice! Thank you!

Better Than Average Airport Food Choice

By Shellys_Travel_Story |

This restaurant is more upscale than typical airport dining choices because it is part of the Grand Hyatt. Worth it if you have time and don't want to eat the typical airport fare.

A Wonderful Dining Experience At Dallas Fort Worth Airport

By KEITH10 |

We dined at the Grand Met located in the Hyatt Hotel at Dallas Fort Worth Airport. The experience was wonderful. The decor of the restaurant is stunning. The service was outstanding. The food is delicious. It is a combination of Mediterranean and Pacific Cuisine. We think it is one of the best restaurants at any airport in the world and highly recommend it.

Excellent option at DFW (in the Grand Hyatt)

By ogerkan |

Stayed at the Grand Hyatt prior to our flight back the following day. We were very surprised to find the Grand met and thoroughly enjoyed a late night dinner at the bar. The food was very well prepared (salads and flat bread special) at the bar staff was top notch. They even gave us a couple of bottles of water to take up to our room for the evening.

The entree offerings at this restaurant are stellar, belying its location at the DFW Grand Hyatt. Strong wine list, well crafted cocktails and attentive service ensure a high level of satisfaction.

Surprisingly great

Usually disappointed with hotel restaurants in the USA, but this one is surprisingly good. I had great warm bread, an amuse bouche, great wine, and good service. The potato leek soup with salmon roe was outstanding, as was the grilled chicken with greens and grits.

Pleasant Surprise in Grand Hyatt

By porter_osborne |

Grand Met was a very pleasant surprise for a pre flight meal. Had missed exit for local favorite restaurant and decided to just try Grand Hyatt since we had international departure at Terminal D. The service was friendly and efficient. Food was very good and there were some unusual dishes that were quite good. I had a lunch salad and my wife had soup and a mixed green and grain salad. Heartier items served at tables around us looked appealing, but we needed to eat lite to counteract the carb laden in flight food that was to come...

Meeting Spot

By Bink |

Inside the Grand Hyatt at Terminal D / DFW up the escalator by hotel check-in - this is a great spot outside of TSA security to meet friends traveling through DFW. We visited mid-day so had some really good lounge food - Pizza flatbread, guacamole & some super gourmet bread with farmers cheese. Beautiful location with a huge wine wall, some private meeting space and an open-air kitchen. Great service / great meeting spot! FYI - bring your cash $$$$$.

Excellent Airport Dining Option

By Mark P |

Grand Met is a surprisingly fine dining option in the Grand Hyatt, which is connected to the D Terminal. In addition to having a nice bar and a sleek and modern appearance, Grand Met features good service and excellent food. My filet and my beet salad were both excellent.

Very Good Food and Excellent Service

By texaswillie |

We were to meet with family at the airport Grand Hyatt and have dinner. Upon entering the Grand Hyatt we quickly determine it was not all that grand as the lobby looks more old Europeanist that a modern day America hotel. We were looking got the dining that was available and found that all the dining at this terminal was behind gate security and unless we had an airplane ticket we would have to eat at the Grand Hotel. The hotel eating places are on the same floor as the lobby and upon entering that area you will find the Sushi Bar not your right. Very small. And just beyond that on the same side is the Moka Bar. Directly across form that are is the Grand Met lounge and beyond that the sit down restaurant, the Grand Met and the kitchen. The lounge serves sandwiches and drinks and the full menu was available in the grand Met. We had a p[arty of seven and there were only tables for up to six. The staff seemed confused at our request and offered to put an extra chair at the table for six. There would have been no room for the food and the seating would have been awkward. The staff did not seem to know what to do. There was a vacant table for eight in a separate adjoining room, however the waiter said that was only by reservation. One of the persons in our group suggested that they put two tables together and that way we could get seven seated. That worked out well although the staff still seemed confused. Now they had an extra chair to deal with. We were presented a large and very heavy back lighted menu that displayed the starters and entrees. There was a limited selection and the prices reflected on the right side of the page were certainly airport or New York City prices. Since we were a captive group it was time to order and eat or don’t eat. The group ordered several items form the menu starting with two different soups, the Yukon Gold Potato Leek Soup and the Roasted Chicken Tortilla Soup. Both came with a large bowl which contained a few chips. To serve the soups a waitress appeared with a tea kettle filled with the warm (not hot) soup and poured that over the chips. Have not had that experience since we were traveling on a train form Hong Kong to Beijing about 20 years ago and went to the ding car where were presented a large bowl filled with noodles. A short time later a your girl came by with a kettle of hot water which she poured over the noodles. So you see, not much has changed in twenty years. The soup was excellent but not worth the high price. Others in the party ordered the Roasted Organic Pasture Chicken with Homestead Gristmill Grits, greens and mushrooms. Don’t you just love how the chef comes up with these long and interesting entrée titles. Then there was the Pan Roasted Mero Sea Bass with butternut squash, shiitake mushrooms and soy mirn broth. Another in the party ordered the halibut and frankly I have forgotten the correct name displayed on the menu. Other items on the menu which we did not order were the 16 oz rib eye for $60.00 and the 12 oz strip loin for $56.00. Van you image going to the airport for a steak? Ewe also had a caesar salad which was presented very well, it looked like a picture from Food and Wine. Not much salad but it looked great, as the prepared had managed to stick a few lettuce leaves just right so that the display and presentation looked great. Some finished the meal with a slice ($9.00) of carrot cake. We all decided again coffee or after dinner drinks as the bill was already skyrocketing upward. The service was very good, as was the taste of the food and when you are a captive group you have little choice other than eat in this venue. The prices are way too high, but then this is an airport location. The dining area certainly does not reflect a sitting for a high class dining room and is in fact chrome and glass that one find in most modern buildings and one would have to say almost austere. The negatives are not so much for the hotel and restaurant but the fact that you cannot ready go to another restaurant unless you want to leave the airport.

Great Breakfast!

Have always had a great breakfast experience here. Food is great (try the "earth" bowl) and the service is fast and friendly. What more can you ask for when it comes to breakfast before a flight.

Decent meal, just clarify your order

By MrsHC2013 |

Decent selection of both food and beverages. Our waitress was kind and they sat us quickly. My meal was delicious but they gave my son a chicken sandwich instead of chicken tenders, so make sure you have them repeat the meal back to you after you order because it took forever for them to bring him the correct dish. No worries as mine was large enough to share. We ended up taking his meal back to the room, which they boxed up nicely so he could snack on it later. The restaurant itself is spacious and classy. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere after a long day flying with my 7yr old. Kids might get fidgety but it’s a lovely place to decompress if you have been traveling.

Outstanding!

First started with drinks and apps then followed by dinner booked via opentable. Can't beat the 1000 point tables! The apps at the bar were awesome. Had the ribs and deviled eggs both were delicious. Then onwards for dinner. Excellent prices and good portion. One of the best steaks that I have ever eaten. You gotta eat here, it's awesome!

Excellent food, atmosphere, and value...Infuriating iPad menus!

Right up front, I want to encourage anyone who (a) is on an extended layover at DFW airport; (b) wants a good, healthy, quality meal; and (c) has a little extra time and money to spend to find your way to the Grand Met restaurant at the Grand Hyatt in Terminal D. This restaurant is well worth the trouble of exiting TSA security to get a pleasant respite from your travels. In fact, I live in Dallas, and when a buddy of mine from work who lives on the East Coast comes to work in Dallas, I drive him to the airport and we schedule it so that we have time to go to the Grand Met bar for a few beers and a meal before he leaves for his flight. If you’ve read the other reviews of the Grand Met, you are probably thinking it has great food, but it is grossly overpriced. I hope to put this in context by reminding the reader that compared to everything else available at DFW airport – both inside and outside TSA security – you are not going to find another restaurant that even comes close to the high quality of the food at the Grand Met. Remember, you are at an airport, and because of that factor alone, to reach another even reasonably good restaurant requires going through a tremendous gauntlet of barriers – e.g., hailing cab or Uber rides; trawling the Zagat list online to find something in the area; carrying and stowing your luggage if you do go off-site; spending the time to travel to something off-site at the risk of missing your plane, etc. That said, the quality of the food on the Grand Met menu is not going to come cheap no matter where you are. It is a farm-to-table restaurant, which means they make an effort to source ingredients from local producers. [When I ordered breakfast there, they were at 100% local sourced. I assume that can fluctuate depending on the season.] To sum it up, you get what you pay for regardless of whether you’re at the airport or not. Aside from the food, I do have one complaint that I cannot let slip by. At some point probably in the last year, the Grand Met began using those obnoxious iPad menus. That is inexcusable in a restaurant of this caliber, and it truly cheapens the entire experience. When I eat there, I ask them to bring me a menu from the bar, which necessitates them also sending a bona fide server to my table. I sit at a computer screen seven days a week. When I go to an upscale restaurant, I want service, I want to speak to a real live waiter, and I don’t want to have to stare into yet one more computer screen. GET RID OF THOSE iPAD MENUS! If it were not for the iPad menus, I would have rated the Grand Met a 5 overall instead of the 4 I gave it with this review; and, I gave it only a 3 for service for the same reason.

Excellent Meal and Service

By EchoAloha |

The service and food at the Grand Met at the Grand Hyatt DFW were superb. We were pleasantly surprised considering that this is an airport hotel restaurant. Our salads were fresh and beautifully arranged. Tastefully prepared, the steaks we ordered rivaled steaks served at some of the top steak houses in the U.S. The waitstaff, friendly and attentive, were professional in every regard. The atmosphere was modern yet elegant. The dinner entrees were a bit expensive, but we felt that it was worth the cost, and we would definitely return to this restaurant if we had the opportunity.

Really Great Dinner

By Shelli M |

We were staying at the Hyatt and decided to grab a late dinner at the hotel. We asked if we could sit in the bar area and order off the restaurant menu - not a problem. This way, we could watch a Sunday football while dining. They had a good selection of entrees and lighter fare to choose from. We had a Caesar salad, pasta bolognese and a poke bowl. I have to say everything was delicious. Quality, fresh ingredients were used and all dishes were served at the perfect temperature. Service was spot on and our waitress was friendly. For anyone staying here, I strongly recommend dining here.
