We stopped for dinner at the Greek Isles recently. The best thing about the server, who made us feel very welcome and brought our order promptly. The appetizers, which included saganaki were pleasant. I had the pastitsio for my entree, which was huge but tasteless.

For those who have been to Greece, you must treat yourselves to some favorites at this recently rebuilt/reopened restaurant. We had dined here before the tornado destroyed the shopping center and enjoyed the delicious and authentic dishes. Very happy to return to the now even more nicely decorated, clean and airy Greek Isles for the same high quality and reasonably priced food and drinks. Waitress Victoria serves with great enthusiasm and attentiveness which makes dining here a great experience.

We went to dinner here last night and it was okay, not sure I'd go back. I've had fantastic Greek food in Dallas and Plano and this one didn't quite hit all the right notes. The Gyro meats was okay, but not as flavorful as it could be. The Greek salad was loaded with onions and peppers, which I don't like. The Greek soup which I would spell wrong if I tried (lemon & rice) was okay not as flavorful as I've had elsewhere. I did like our waitress, she was really nice and helpful and remembered our to go order without us asking again about it. The restaurant could use some updating and we hated being put at a table next to the bathroom.

We had lunch here on a Sunday for the first time. We were warmly greeted and the staff were very friendly and nice. The decor is more upscale than I expected without any tacky Olympic Airways posters of Greece on the walls. They provide a loaf of delicious bread along with a small bowl of about a dozen kalamata olives. Both were delicious! Each of our meals came with a choice of salad. My caesar was perfection. Hands-down the best caesar dressing I've had in ages. It was made in-house and not from a bottle. My friend's house salad was also excellent. He ordered the snapper which was amazing. I had the chicken spanakopita which was pretty good. A man dining alone at a nearby table had the lamb and he couldn't stop raving about it. The chef came out to greet people and ask if everything was ok. He was a very nice man and clearly focused on making sure his food was well-liked. That was a very nice touch. A few minutes after he left, he reappeared with a plate of pastries for dessert on the house. They were Greek donuts that were freshly made, covered in a sweet sauce that seemed to be honey-based. They were absolutely fantastic and such a nice touch. Next time we go, we want to be sure to get the hummus and the lamb. Both sounded great. And there will definitely be a next time. Prices are VERY reasonable. Hummus app is $3, most plates in the low teens. The bread and salad included is also a nice value. I'm looking forward to coming back here again soon.

Appears to be a long established non-chain restaurant, casual well kept, very nice ambiance. We have been here twice this month, ordered mostly traditional Greek selections, all of which were superb. Also had the rainbow trout, fantastic. We will be making the Trip from Plano to here at least monthly from here on.

I was with a group of 12 who was looking for a place to eat after a nearby event. We called ahead to another restaurant who said that they "could not accommodate" a group our size because it was a busy Saturday evening. We called Greek Isles and they said they'd get a table together for us as soon as possible. When the first couple of us got there about 10 minutes later, a very personable, funny gentleman was waiting at the host stand. We explained we were with the group and he immediately apologized they hadn't been able to pull tables together yet because they were very busy. We said no problem and grabbed some menus and sat down outside to wait. Two other employees were hurrying around, also apologizing to us. We didn't expect to be seated immediately! About another 15 minutes later, the host came out to get us and seated us in one of the cozy rooms. There were two other large groups as well, but we received quick service, with equally friendly servers. The host came back another couple of times to check on us. The general consensus was that the food was very good. I started with an order of spanakopita - warm, flaky and no grease at all. It was a sizable portion I boxed up and took most of home. My moussaka was well seasoned, piping hot and some of the best I've had in the DFW area. The included salad and bread was also quite good. We had baklava for dessert and it was fantastic - very cinnamony compared to most I've ever had. Prices were extremely good for the portion size. We're glad we found Greek Isles and will likely all plan to visit again when we are in the Plano area!

The service was great and the food was amazing. Have really good spanikopita and the Greek salad was great as well. Our waitress was from greece and very nice, fun to talk to. Highly recommend this place. Being married to a Greek it is hard to find food that she thinks is up to the bar but this place had it!

I loved my lamb chops. When word gets around about this restaurant, there will be a wait to get in. Get in while you can.

I ate here for the first time last week. It is a quiet, potentially romantic smaller Greek restaurant tucked away at the side of a well-known strip center on Royal Lane. Nice selection of Greek specialties, and full bar service. Food was well-prepared and service was very good.

A nice retreat from a busy intersection. Decent wine list and nice luncheon menu. Lamb shank was excellent and reasonably priced. Shrimp with orzo had good flavor.

Greek Isles is a true Neighborhood Gem offering very good food at modest prices in an excellent setting with a full bar and both indoor and patio dining options. Everything from traditional Greek dishes to hand crafted cocktails are served up by friendly wait staff without being rushed. Give it a try!

Staff is excellent and very attentive to the customer. The house wine at the bar is best kept secret in Dallas, country club pour for 1/3 the cost of the surrounding restaurants. Dolma's(grape leaves stuffed with rice and hamburger) and creamy lemon sauce is to die for. All the fish dishes are excellent at great prices as is the lamb. Everyone I have met here for the first time are now repeat customers and word of mouth referral's keep them coming back as regulars. Property is on the west end of the strip center on south side of Preston and Royal.Uopa!

Our group of eight had a lovely meal here. Our group had a private room, and service was attentive and unobtrusive. I thought the high point was the chicken avogolomeno with its delicious sauce and hint of sweetness provided by the artichokes. The complimentary artisinal bread was just wonderful. All the salads were good except for the Caesar, which delivered limp lettuce, possibly due to sitting around drenched in dressing. The avogolomeno soup said and soup of the day lentil soup were also delicious. I really enjoyed the grilled shrimp, which were cooked to the perfect pitch of grilled doneness, but one person said he would have preferred a more flavorful dish. The only real disappointment was the moussaka, although I didn't try that myself.

this is a neighborhood place and it showed. the servers and staff were eager to get the meal just right and it was delicious.

My daughter and I made sure we got here in time for lunch. They normally close at 2:00 PM until opening again for dinner. We were almost the only customers at the time but, as always, had wonderful service and food.

My husband is Greek from Greece, so eating at a Greek restaurant is difficult as he is always comparing the food to his home country. The first time we went there based on another Greek friend's recommendation we had Daniel as our server. We never even ordered off the menu!! He asked us our preferences and dislikes and then created a meal based on that.....that was AWESOME!! I have never experienced that in any restaurant before!!! That is customer service at it's best!!!! And to top it off....the food was amazing and tasted like we were back in Greece. We have since been back many times and bring people there to also discover their originality. If you really want authentic Greek food....this is the place to go.

A buddy and I had lunch on a Wednesday - he was craving greek food. I found GI on TA and it sounded good. We started with a gyro app plate - slices of gyro meat, pita triangles, chopped tomato, re onion and zaziki sauce. Delicious! He had chicken avgolemono and I opted for chicken and shrimp souvlaki. We both enjoyed the entrees and each had enough for a doggy bag for later. He drank a white wine (Retsina) that grew on him. I had two different glasses of red with the second one (Amethystos Rouge) being the better one. Service was excellent as was the decor. Well worth a return visit.

Our first visit since this restaurant was closed after the 2019 tornado. I personally would have made the dining area a little less lunch roomy and cozier, but.. We found a welcome retreat in the small bar area. Waiter/bartender Logan was working lunch solo because of staffing shortages, but still had time to graciously serve wine, replace less than crystal clean glasses, and nicely pace our multi course meal. Stuffed grape leaves were great, as was Caesar salad and entrees. Logan gave us enough attention, but not too much, while attending to a full room of luncheon customers. We will return as often as possible.

Found this place by accident while at Spec's across the street. They welcomed our dog on the patio. Service great as well as food! We had the dips for appetizers, Horiataki (salad from my village) & the sampler (shrimp, lamb chop, spanakopita & patsistos). Will be back!!

Good food, service and fairly quiet! A pleasant addition to the neighborhood. Moderately priced with good ambiance. Who can ask for more!

The decor definitely gives the feel of being in Greece and the food was quite tasty. My friends and I all ordered something different and we each enjoyed our entrees and appetizers. We split a dessert which was quite good as well. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. The service is very friendly, but was not quite as attentive towards the end of the evening. Still a good dining experience and I will be returning next time I'm craving some good Greek food.

Amazing food... made from fresh delicious ingredients. Horiatiki salad was an unforgettable experience. I am not much of a salad person but this was delicious and surprisingly hard to replicate in my kitchen considering the simple ingredients. I will be back for more.

The food is very good and the service is excellent. The only problem is that the location at Preston Royal on the SW corner makes it difficult to access, particularly between 5:00 and 7:00 in the evening.

Charming authentic Greek neiborhood restaurant conveniently located near the Tollway. Simple yet elegant decor. Two nice private rooms. Entrees come with soup or salad. Waiter Nick and manager Chris were friendly and attentive. We particularly loved their cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned lamb chops (from New Zealand, the best).

Had a lovely lunch today. We had dolmas and a sampler plate along w warm crusty bread. The grilled shrimp was amazing! A very good meal in a quiet setting. Looking forward to going back soon.

it is really really good it was my first time going there but me and my sister and other sister loved the saganki and it is so good

Late lunch, as usual. We arrived two minutes after the closing time but the staff saw us and opened the door. The service was excellent the whole time. The food was excellent also and all authentic. Had dolmas and avgolermono soup and the sampler platter. Also shared some baklava for dessert. One glass of iced tea and the bill, without the tip was about $32.00 and change. We will be going back soon.

Extremely high value, a bit hidden neighborhood restaurant. Lots of menu choices all freshly made and served piping hot. Service is outstanding. Food is tasty and authentically Greek. On Saturday nights ( and perhaps others as well) they have a local singer for background music, which is very pleasant. Can’t wait to return to try other menu items.

Went here on a saturday evening for a birthday celebration. I've been to the plano location a few times ages ago. First time here. Came into the parking lot on the back side of the building but didn't realize the entrance was around the corner. Very pretty walk up with nice outside patio covered with greenery. Staff was very welcoming and our reservation table was ready for us in the back room. The room was filled with pictures of Greece and columns and blue and white. There is a fireplace that divides the back room from the main dining room which I imagine would be wonderful during the colder months. Our waitress was very quick to come to our table and take our drink orders and advise us of the specials. She answered any questions we had. The food. There was hit and misses with this. The dolmas were big and delicious. Wish they served feta with it but there was lots of sauce to drizzle over. Several got the greek salad and they said the dressing was weird and different from other greek restaurants. My daughter got the caesar salad and said the dressing was fishy tasting. Guess she isn't used to the anchovies being that strong. A couple of us got the avgolemono soup and it was a nice size with a good amount of rice. Wish it had more lemon taste but I took a drink lemon someone wasn't using and squeezed it on top. The dinners we had at our table were chicken souvlaki which is a great dish for someone not so into authentic greek food, chicken avgolemono and the birthday girl said she really liked it, Moussaka - i didn't hear a review as he was at the very end of the table but his plate was empty, souvlaki and shrimp - plate was gone, and a couple had the chicken stuffed with spinach and mushrooms (forgot the name) several cleared their plates. I had it and i wasn't too fond of the green beans. Little to much of a crunch for my liking. The potato wedge was good. Huge portion. Have leftovers for lunch. And someone also got a lamb gyro and she said it was really good. Server offered desserts but we mentioned we were going back home for birthday dessert and she sweetly brought out a baklava ice cream with candle on top and spoons for all. That was delicious! you could smell the cinnamon as soon as it was brought to the table. Would definitely pay for that in the future. All in all, we would all go back. OPA!~

This place is in my neighborhood and I really didn't used to be a huge fan of Greek food until I started going to this place. I have been here several times in the last 3-4 months and decided it's time I review them because it's hidden for one thing unless you live in the area and head east on Royal very often you could miss this hidden gem. I have ordered different items from the menu and so far not disappointed with one dish. The service is one of the best, they are all nice and the owner is from Greece and everyone that works here is Greek. I can't really pic a favorite dish because everything I have tried is delicious but I always get a cup of Lentil soup if they have it because they make it daily and sometimes they run out of it because it's so delicious. I can't describe so you will have to go in and try it for yourself. There's a small bar with tv and a small outside patio with a few tables. The restaurant is nice and clean. It's also quite spacious although from the outside it looks small. I notice they have live singer now on weekends and I believe Thursday too but I can't be for sure on Thursday. They have had a couple of parties in the back part of the restaurant so I believe they could host a large group but of course call in advance. The owner Chris seems to be there every time I have gone multi tasking which is always good. He is very nice and also very helpful if you need any suggestions regarding the menu. I have a pic with him and a bartender which is friendly that works there. If you have not tried this place you should and you may be addicted. The portions are perfect depending on your appetite. I hope this restaurant stays a very long time. Also, check the hours because they close after lunch then re open for dinner.

Friends went to Greek Isles to eat. We started with wine and spanikopita which one of the diners had never had and loved. Then we both had salads so we could have galactobouriko, a Greek dessert of semolina-based custard in phyllo. It was very tasty. I would go back and just have wine and desert.

The food is good and the staff is very friendly. Have been here several times and it hasn't disappointed me ever. The spanikopita is some of the best I have had other than home made.

This is an additional location for The Greek Isles Grille in Plano. It has a nicely decorated patio near the entrance, a small bar the the immediate left at the entrance, and a well decorated and comfortable dining room (white table cloth). Unfortunately, it was raining, so we could not take advantage of the outside seating. I had the Avgolemono Soup (traditional lemon-y soup) and Dolmas Avgolemono (stuffed w/ground beef and topped w/lemon sauce). I was expecting a much more tart lemon flavor, and didn't care much for the milder taste. My husband had Chicken and Shrimp Souvlaka, which is marinated w/traditional Greek seasonings (think gyros), then grilled with red onions and bell peppers, and is served over a bed of rice. He enjoyed his, and he even liked the milder flavor soup. We were served a mini loaf of warm wheat bread and a dish of assorted olives as a starter. We ate there on a Friday night, and the dining room was full by 6:30. It is the only Greek restaurant in the area, and seems to be a hit with neighborhood diners. I'm not sure I would eat there again, since there are a couple of other Greek restaurants in Dallas, but are a further drive.

Greek Isles has a nice and cozy atmosphere. The food is good, and the service is friendly. The dips as a starter are tasty and fresh. The salads are flavorful and right sized.

Great food and service. One of the best in Dallas. We will be back soon. Salads are good. Bread and olives come with meal.
excellent service, good food
we came with a large group, which can be a challenge. The service was very professional and they got everything right. The food has traditional Greek items, and it is a little pricey. I had the pastitsio and it was very good, as were the flat beans. The Greek salad was also fine. other people seemed to like their food. the spanakopita looked good.
