String lights and brick walls, looks lake a former warehouse with great ambiance.Texas style BBQ,briskets, pork bellys, short ribs, all you can think of.Rinse down with a large number of local microbrewery beers.Finish with a really good coffee a half-step up.

Excellent food! Especially the chopped brisket tasted so good and the beef short ribs were the best we’ve ever had. Atmosphere was cozy and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

I ordered a pound of brisket, one plate rib and a side of corn. $72. Brisket and plate rib were fantastic! Corn was REALLY good. $33/lb for Brisket and $25/lb for rib PLUS 12% Chicago restaurant tax is a bit much. Still, for a once a year dinner, go for it. Their bar menu was a big as their food menu. The food line on a Saturday night was at least 30 people long.

Nice place with excellent food. Loved the relaxed athmosphere! I higly recommend the brisket but all the meat and chicken was excellent.

this place is so very unique. Great meat. the best brisket and sausage and chicken and everything. other than the beans that were over sweet everything was an 11 out of 10. The place is a zoo. I love zoos

No frills just awesome Barbecue, by the pound. St Louis Ribs, Brisket and Pastrami was outstanding- try the spicy cucumber pickles, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad. Highly recommend this restaurant

A Chicago native friend of ours suggested this place on a recent trip. This is a real funky little establishment. You enter via an alley. The tables were beer hall style long benches. Food was ordered at the counter. With live music. The BBQ was great. I had the brisket, hot links, and corn bread. My wife had the pulled pork. It was very busy when we went, but worth it.

Absolutely fantastic place to eat if you are a meat lover. Large group of us went and bought a bunch of everything they had to share. Supreme smoked meats. Brisket was mouth watering and if you have never had their pastrami you better arrive hungry. Everything from the main course meats to the sides and even the deserts are spot on. I can’t wait for a return visit.

This is the second time I’ve dined here and whilst we had a private event, I can see the food is just as good if you’re sitting in a public area. Staff were super friendly, we were so well looked after. Broccoli salad is superb, so too the corn but clearly it’s the meat we all come for! Place was crazy busy, the line for food nearly circling the bar. I can see why.

There were 4 of us who ordered out for dinner. Brisked, Beef Rib, pork ribs, pork belly and pastrami. Not one item was not top notch. Very good with beer and wine. We all found it to be the best BBQ in Chicago except my house. The hot links may be better.

We went for late lunch on a weekday and it was already crowded! The food was excellent. We recommend the brisket and the pulled pork. The cole slaw was good, too. This isn't cheap eats though, so be aware of that before you go.

First restaurant we went for dining. Attended an art showing and this is the place we hit up after. OMG- get the brisket. Absolutely the best brisket I have ever had. The beer selection will not disappoint. Seating is open. The atmosphere was a little loud for my taste but it wasn't over the top. The service was excellant! This is a must if you are visiting. LOVE LOVE LOVE

We stopped in for dinner recently with our daughter and her boyfriend. We could smell the smoke/Que down the street on the way to the restaurant. It got our mouths watering immediately. I believe we were there on a Friday around 6pm, there was a line already, but the guy at the door said the wait would only be about 20 minutes or so, and he was pretty close to correct with that. We had a cold beer while we waited and checked out the menu. A little piece of advice, there is a tub filled with ice at the end of the bar, they stock it with cans of beer including some tall boys - cheaper than a draft! Most of us opted for the pulled pork (by the 1/2 lb), and we added a hot link for good measure. It was amazing, great smoke flavor, the right amount of fat and "crispy" pieces. The hot link was wonderful as well, good bite to it. You add your own BBQ sauce, so you can try a couple of flavors if you'd like. For sides, we had the cornbread and Elote Style corn -- which was extraordinary! I've had this at more authentic Mexican restaurants, but here in a BBQ place it was crazy good, they put their own twist on it. It's addicting. Can't say enough good stuff about this place. I only wished we lived closer -- home is Florida, but we will be back when we come to visit our daughter!

Pretty awesome dry rub ribs, pork belly and prime rib. Note that the prime rib is only available at the weekend. Meat was all tender - especially the pork belly. There is a help yourself hot sauce, bbq, spicy bbq and vinegar station. We also ordered a couple of portions of pickles and coleslaw. Pickles were sweet, spicy and sour - just as it should be with balanced flavours. Coleslaw was also good - not swimming in mayo like some places. Also got a free taster of the beef brisket. Worth a visit!

Let me just state the animals that gave their lives to be served at this restaurant did not die in vain. The ribs were succulent and came off tge bone with ease. It didn't fall off the bone but slid off as it remained moist and succulent on the inside. The brisket was unbelievable. It was tender, juicy, flavorful and just enough fat. I liked the baked beans, but the potato salad was too chunky for my liking. The sides made me stop short of 5-stars. But the meat is undeniably worth the trip. The atmosphere is very nice as well with indoor and outdoor seating available.

Excellent quality meat and very basic local prices without a reservation but you can find a place by sitting next to other people, excellent beers, top atmosphere.

Can't believe I haven't left a note on this place before. 3rd or 4th time but the first time with my family. Got a variety of things. I'm a rib fan and really liked both kinds of ribs we got. The pastrami is also excellent. I've had the brisket a couple of times and honestly, it's one of my least favorite things. I wouldn't bother with any of the pulled meats as the other stuff is too good. The elote is excellent. The salmon was also really good. It's never not been crowded when I've eaten here but I've always managed to find a spot, even this last time when there were 7 of us. There's quite a few good places to eat in the Fulton Market area but if you like meats and bbq, Green Street is probably the best.

Place has no luxury, it’s very simple and rustic. Many types of beers, draft or bottle. But great stars are the smoked meats. Pastrami, brisket, beef short ribs and other cuts. Really good! It worths!

Cold beer, salty atmosphere, great music, picnic tables and the best bbq brisket and side orders I have ever tasted. Well worth a trip to the West Loop.

Very cool venue, a little loud but cool. Amazing smoked meats. You have to try the sliced brisket, and frito pie, and cornbread can you tell we ate a lot? Really good but get there early because they do run out of meat. Drinks are good as well.

Dined again at Green Street Smoked Meats. Got the chopped brisket sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were at least 8 ounces of meat and topped with slaw and pickles and enough to share. The same can be said of the sides of red potato salad and pit beans with chopped brisket. A must stop for BBQ if you are in the West Loop.

Order like a fast food before we chose our seat. We had pork ribs & jalapeno cheese hot link, got free breads & pickles. All tasted great. Self service for the plain water. The place is good for hang out with friends. Hard rock music is played. Inside and Outside seatings are available.

A very nice place, good atmosphere, very beautiful and above all very delicious food. Unmissable place in the view of Chicago.

Great variety of food, and really down-to-earth ambience. The line took about 20 minutes, but the bar is perfectly situated for you to get a drink while waiting in line.

Can't go wrong with much on the menu here, but the burnt ends and watermelon salad are personal faves. This place has a great vibe and people watching scene.

I was recommended this place by a friend. Venture into a little side street to open the door to a huge, industrial style, "secret" place...!! That's the feeling I got when I couldn't find the entrance at first. It's huge, decorated with taste and the meat is good, and cut in front of you! A great place for the food and for the experience!

Awesome part of town, awesome entrance, awesome menu, awesome seating arrangements, awesome décor, awesome music, awesome atmosphere and awesome food!

The more my wife and I travel, the more we see and learn and taste. Like the Frito pie I experienced for the first time during our recent visit to Green Street Smoked Meats in Chicago. It's a popular dish in the Midwest and Southwest, spicy and salty and cheesy, made from ground beef, chopped onion, pinto beans, corn chips, enchilada sauce, shredded cheddar cheese and green onions. Sometimes it includes salsa, sour cream, rice and jalapenos. Green Street's version is the next best thing to chili. Located at 112 North Green Street, south of Randolph, north of Washington, in the West Loop neighborhood, down a brick paved alley, it is a cafeteria-style, counter serve operation that specializes in house-smoked Texas barbecue and homey sides in a wood-paneled, warehouse-like, industrial decor with a large bar and long picnic tables and loud rock music, a real party atmosphere, like an indoor tailgate. Besides the Frito pie, we indulged in a pulled pork sandwich, smoked salmon, baked beans, cole slaw and cornbread. To avoid the crowd, you might consider pickup or delivery. Open from 11 to 11 on Sunday and Monday, 11 to midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday and 11 to 1 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Green Street also offers pulled pork, pork ribs, beef short ribs, smoked prime rib, sliced and chopped brisket, pastrami and pork belly by the half-pound. And if you prefer a beverage stronger than root beer, there is an extensive list of tequila, mezcal, beer, cocktails, whiskey, gin, vodka, scotch, wine and bourbon to wash down the barbecue. Have you noticed, as we have, how popular barbecue has become in Chicago?

If a BBQ establishment serves an excellent brisket, that is an indication of the BBQ mastery BUT if they also serve an excellent pork belly, they are at a Jedi level. My son took me to Green Street Smoked Meats and their brisket and pork belly were outstanding. We also had links and the smoked prime rib which were equally delicious. For our sides, we had the coleslaw and potato salad. The pork belly and potato salad were the best I ever had. (Note that the brisket is as good as that offered by Salt Lick in Austin, TX (which is also phenomenal).) I wish I had enough room for the beef ribs and I am looking forward to another meal here!

Cool spot with good BBQ. The beed rib (only Friday through Sunday) and the brisket are the stars of the place, but the other stuff is good too. Overall good food and great service, nice staff which can get expensive depending on how much you order.

Jerome took excellent care of us; he was kind, considerate, and added a lot of fun to our evening! The dinner was exquisitely presented and excellent. The free Limoncello was a wonderful surprise that added a special touch to the evening. I'm eager to come back for another delicious supper!

I can't say enough good about this place. I loved it. Cool vibe, great food, good drinks, just an all around great place. Get the brisket and the red potato salad. Best brisket I've ever had. Very fun staff as well.

Was headed to High Five Ramen and had to wait in Green Street. What a treat! Our “appetizers” for dinner were succulent pieces of smoked brisket and ribs. Wonderful and melt in your mouth. Definitely worth its own visit for sure.

Met a few friends at Green Street before a Blackhawk game - really enjoyed it. Very interesting motif inside as well as amazing smoked meats. I have had the brisket and the pork ribs , both very tasty . Grab a cold beer from the “ beer sink” while you wait!

If you are looking for Very delicious meat in town, you found it. Ambiance was cozy and relaxed. Service was fast and beer was ice cold, go there and make your stomach happy.

We went to this little hole in the wall place in the cellar of Green Street - just for the ramen! We drank beer at the bar upstairs while we waited about an hour and a half for seating downstairs - but it was SO worth it! I ordered the ramen with the medium heat and it was about as spicy as I want to venture, and I like spicy food. One of the guys I was with ordered the spiciest version and he was struggling. First timers should start with the less spicy and work your way up. It's REALLY GOOD ramen!

The food is great, but the best part is the atmoshere. It's definitely a cool place to be on a Saturday night... chill, festive, and fun.

There is barbecue places and there's Green Street Smoked Meats. This is maybe the lighthouse that other barbecue joints look up to. We'll the outfit is robust, not clinically clean, and quite noisy. Yet it fits the entire image. The food is simply stellar. No, not cheap. But worth every bite. Here, somebody thinks about quality! And vows to it. A refreshing testament to an entrepreneurial vision: simply the best street barbecue.

This place is amazing! Any time I am in downtown Chicago we HAVE to go to Green Street. I can’t find brisket anywhere around where I live that even comes close to how fabulous Green Streets is. The seating is picnic tables, first come first serve, so I suggest having one person hold your spot while you order. This last time we went we got it to go and it was just as good as eating it in there. Worth every penny!

Great food, casual. The quality of their process and passion shows in the food. Brisket and ribs were phenomenal. Worth the stop.

Awesome Central Texas style Brisket that shows off a great smoke ring along with a moistness that I simply haven't found in other BBQ joints. Loved the pork ribs that have a really nice bite, not overdone fall off the bone. Broccoli salad was my favorite side although others preferred the Elote Corn. Staff was all super friendly and helpful! Definitely going back!!!

A group from work went to lunch here. Very casual picnic table seating, paper towel dispensers on the tables, trays of meat and sides, and little paper baskets instead of plates. Not quite the average business lunch, but worked well for us. We're a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters, and everyone left satisfied. There were a large variety of side dishes available that satisfied the vegetarians, and the beef and chicken satisfied everyone else. It looked like it would be a fun place after work with alcohol as well.

If you love meat this is a great place to come in Chicago. I am not a big meat eater but always love coming here for the atmosphere and the food. This is informal dining at its best. It is counter service and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. Love the industrial decor and not only is the food photograph worthy but also one for insta!

Enjoyed a family meal here - no booking necessary. You turn up, grab some seats and order food at the food counter, and beer at the bar. The food is good (particularly the brisket, as is the pulled pork and cornbread). The beer selection is also good. The atmosphere is friendly, and they play music -but not too loud- and sports are shown on the TVs later. The West Loop is the up-and-coming hipster foodie area of Chicago and Green Street makes for a good addition to the area.

Without reading any reviews happened x case immediately we liked the cozy environment, and despite the row we stayed. We were repaid by a top eating!!! Excellent and succulent burger of the house, good meat, top beer. Definitely going back.

Don't miss this restaurant if you're in Chicago. The barbecue menu is so good, it's tough to make choices. The staff's helpfulness and attention to customers is a big plus. Rustic look with a patio outside that's great during the summer. A bit pricey but the ambiance and vibe go well with the high quality food. Strongly recommended!

One of my favorite places in Chicago to eat meat, the ribs are incredible, the brisket is delicious, soft and juicy. The uncomplicated service and the great atmosphere.

We are from France to discover Chicago. We found their addresses online and went there. Frankly, super friendly staff, very good meal. A real smoke house with a very American style. I recommend it.

I wish I could eat there once a week. The concept of the place is not less than genuine . Great food, very friendly bar tenders and and unique vibe

Green street meats is one of the best barbecue places I have eaten at. Awesome vibe and great staff, good beer selection.

We scheduled in this place as our destination to get some proper American BBQ on our recent trip to Chicago. When we went at lunch it was packed (there are no reservations taken, you go to the kitchen to collect your order) but we got 2 seats at a shared table. From what we ordered: -- Side of Elote corn =10/10. Creamy and spicy; a standout dish. First dish to be finished - I could have had twice as much! -- Side of Potato salad = 10/10. -- Side of Cornbread = 7/10. Although nice, didn't really need it with the other chosen dishes. It was very crumbly and a bit heavy -- Side of Baked beans = 7/10. Tasty but a bit too sweet to rate higher. You come for the meat though and the Brisket, Pork ribs and hot link sausages were all 10/10! They were all perfectly spiced and we couldn't fault at all. It was way too much for 2 people and we felt a bit bad leaving as much as we did (we could have boxed up to takeaway but we were sightseeing later). If we were to choose again we would skip the cornbread, beans and hot link - then the portion size would have been perfect. They have a great selection of craft beer on tap and spirits. The fun atmosphere and great food means you won't regret a visit here.

We eat BBQ very often but this place is really great. Inside atmosphere is electric with long tables seating. We love their Beef Brisket.

Had the pastrami and pulled pork. Delicious and plenty. Great bar and bartenders. Highly recommend this place both for a quick dinner or a longer stay.

Ok, I’ll have the entire state of Texas pissed ofF at me for rating green street so high. It is deserved. Fun atmosphere, casual and worth the line and wait. Served on a tray with wonderful sides. Brisket wow, get end cuts. Ribs. Outstanding. Beer is cold and served witH a smile

I've been hunting for some good BBQ in the city and found this place. Honestly, the food is great. I got a quarter of the pulled pork and half brisket (shaved). Both were great, but I loved the pulled pork. The pork wasn't dry at all and was extremely flavorful. The atmosphere of the joint makes you feel like you have stepped in to a hip, rustic barn. One word of advice though - if you go during the weekend, it might take you awhile to find a spot to eat. Its first come first serve for seating.

It's good but I have had better bbq in DC and New York. It's a good handout place with friends. There's another small restaurant in the basement and always a long queue.

Nice experience. Cool vibe in an old building. Order at the counter. It's pricey for 1/2# of meat. Easy to spend $60 for just 2 people. I thought the pulled pork was excellent. Brisket was good but a little cold. Elote was really good. Look forward to going back.

I was once again hooked on going to this slightly crazy but very engaging place to eat meat with friends during our stay in Chicago. I recommend everyone to stop by if you want to eat sliced briskets or ribs. Like all of Chicago, you shouldn't be surprised if the price is a little high for our habits.

This was the best food experience during our trip to Chicago. The atmosphere is awesome, everyone fits in - come as you are! The food is very well seasoned and we truly enjoyed every bite during the night. Put it on your must eats when in Chicago!

This was the stand out place from our week in Chicago. The meats were fantastic and the service was good. We tried the pulled pork, brisket and ribs. We must have arrived at the right time as when we sat down with our food the queue suddenly got really long, this was just after 5pm. You had to go up and order your food from the counter and bring it to your table on a tray. An easy process but I can see it getting very busy at certain times. Highly recommend the food, would definitely visit again.

I swear you are going to feel like you are entering the kitchens, but trust me it is just an obscure entrance. I sat at the bar and had to order from the kitchen line, I am not sure what it is like at a table. The bartender gave me a sample of the beer I was going to order because it wasn't main stream. I loved it and ordered a glass. The brisket sammich I ordered would have been good as a stand alone but I wanted coleslaw on my sammy and it defiantly added to it, though I couldn't just get it as a condiment I had to order a whole side and had way more than I needed or wanted. But, in any event, I will go back. It is relatively easy to get to via CTA Green Line: Morgan stop and it is just a couple of blocks east and two blocks south on Green. I found it hard to find so enjoy!

Excellent grilled meats in a very beautiful place. We got various ribs, brisket, pastrami, the first 2 excellent. On the sides, the cornbread is perfect.

Best ribs, best brisket, best sides this side of Texas. Run, don't walk! Definitely try the broccoli and creamed corn "elote" salad. Lots of room for big parties and never too long a wait....the perfect place!

Weny there for coffee first to the adjacent coffee shop. ( amazing mocha with orange zest, by the way), ended up ordering dinner because we just could not resist the fabulous bbq smell. Everything was delicious! The line was very long, but went super fast. Our friend with dairy and gluten allergies could easily find side dishes for herself to accompany the meat thanks to very knowligable staff that pointed out what to avoid. Definitely recommend this place!

We had: Brisket Smoked Link Pastrami Pork sandwich And they all were great! Tender, properly barbecued and generous portions, the meats were delicious. The sides: baked beans ... 8 out of 10 (just a bit on the sweet side Cole slaw ... 7 of 10 Broccoli salad... 4 of 10... raisins? C’mon Frito pie... 9 of 10 A very casual setting, super friendly staff, lots of seating and reasonable prices. Definitely a place that you need to visit for Great Meat.

Large place Texas stile you are getting your meat pay and find a place to seat and enjoy it on one of the benches. The ribs and the pork belly were fantastic perfectly cooked and seasoned. Just perfect Price is not low tough expect to pay more than in other bbq joins. But the quality is superior

Stand in line order wait get food in paper plates. Very busy food good sauce good very noisy. You share a table with others and wetter like it. The portions were smaller than shown and some not real hot. In trendy neighborhood and younger crowd.

Green Street Smoked Meats is the best place for bbq in Chicago! The food is very tasty and juicy, especially the brisket and the pastrami! We can also recommend the sausages! They are just as good as Germ4an sausages! The employees also contribute to the very good atmosphere. Very helpful, very hospitable! Next time we're in Chicago, we will definitely come back!

This is a great, casual bbq dinner place. Food and service were both excellent! Prices were reasonable. Counter personnel let us sample food we had questions about. Loved the atmosphere! Picnic style tables, got to talk to other people around us. Very cool place!

Very good bbq. / smoked meats nice drink selection fun atmosphere. Open picnic table style seating very casual.

I had been hearing so many good things about this place, I couldn't wait to try it. It didn't live up to my expectations. The meat was pretty good, but all of the sides were disappointing. They also got my order wrong (gave me pulled pork instead of pork belly), which I didn't even realize until I had already dug in. I will say, however, that the actual interior of the restaurant is super cool. I loved the layout, which consists of a central bar, a line to order, and large picnic tables all around. I would give it another try.

Been there , had the ribs and I loved it !!! Good beer also and nice stuff. Nothing bad to say ... really the place is very nice!

Full disclosure, we're from VA so we're used to a different kind of BBQ. The food was okay in our opinion. We are used to fall off the bone ribs. We had the coleslaw it was a little too vinegary and needs some sugar. The meat is sold by the 1/2 lb. So you only get 4 ribs for $16ish. A little pricey. The brisket was moist but didnt have a lot of flavor to me. I like more seasoning on mine. The sauces are okay and the cornbread was moist. You get a large piece of it but it is southwest style with peppers in it. Not for everyone. Overall, it's not the best we've had but it's not the worst either.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday around Noon. Tables outside were all full, but there were plenty of open tables inside and the bar was nearly empty. We ordered and got our food and took seats at the bar. Good beer selection and the bartender seemed knowledgeable about the beer offerings. The brisket was fantastic! Just enough fat to keep it moist and not overly smokey. I got ramekins of both the regular and spicy BBQ sauces. The spicy was too hot for my taste. The regular wasn't too spicy, but had an unusual flavor that I could not identify. I enjoyed my brisket without either sauce and it was just fine on its own. The coleslaw portion was huge and crunchy. The flavor was subtle without too much dressing. All in all, a good solid bbq place and one to which I would return.

A fantastic place and if you’re a meat lover you won’t be disappointed. The concept is different to anywhere I’ve been before - queue up inside until you reach the kitchen area, where they cut the meat of your choosing, lay out on a tray along with sizeable sides of your selection, then grab your plates and sauces and find space on a table to enjoy. There’s seating options both inside and out and there’s plenty of space even when the place is busy. On a Friday night the main queue took almost an hour, but there’s a nice vibe and you wait alongside the central bar, so grabbing a drink to pass time is easy. The drinks menu is huge and the prices good. The staff serving the meat are friendly and helpful, ensuring you get the right amount and pick the best options for what you prefer, but when it comes to adding sides be careful given their size - eyes were certainly bigger than tummies for us! The taste of everything was incredible though - the meat so succulent and juicy, and sides such as the coleslaw creamy. Next time I’m in the city I’ll certainly be returning here and for a more unique evening out I’d highly recommend.

Dined at Green Street Smoked Meats while in the West Loop on a couples night out. The brisket with crust is so moist and no need for a knife here. Tons of flavor and smoked to perfection with oak. The pulled pork so tender and full of flavor as well. The hot link was a hidden gem and steal at $6.00! Sides were enough for two. Well done Green Street!

Great place for smoked meats. You pay by the pound. The staff is friendly and efficient as they patiently explain your meat choices. The sides are wonderful. We had succulent smoked prime rib, yummy pork belly with fresh broccoli salad and really good street corn. What a find!

Who knew that some of the country's best BBQ is coming out of Chicago?! Not Austin, Texas, not Nashville, but Chicago. Green Street Smoked Meats is a large BBQ restaurant in the West Loop. It may be hard to miss because you enter it from an alley, but once inside, you're standing in a very large restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It even has a full bar inside and a coffee shop open in the mornings. Here's what I recommend ordering: 1) Pulled pork sandwich: It's really tasty. A healthy portion of pulled pork comes on a bun with coleslaw that seals the deal. 2) Elote: Every time I see elote on the menu, I order it and this is the best I've ever had. It comes off the cob and so good! 3) Frito pie: It's a little odd because it comes with the Frito bag on the bottom, but it's essentially loaded nachos but instead of nachos, it's fritos. If you want good BBQ and a fun environment, run to Green Street Smoked Meats.

Lovely staff. Delicious food. Some sauces have high sugar content but not as much as many other BBQ places. Fun, hip, happy ambiance. I always take out of town guests there, in particular people from other countries to show them, "this is America, this is us, see how good we are!" Always memorable. Thank you. Mehran (of Chicago)

I went to this place with friends at the end of October. Very pleasant industrial atmosphere, the meat was really excellent. The “Pork Ribs” are absolutely recommended

Great place to be. I liked the style of the bar and the restaurant. But the most important thing: absolutely awesome food! The pulled pork was so delicious, you really need to try it! All other food was really good, too.

Visited on last night of a weeklong business trip to Chicago. Many locals recommended it as great BBQ. I wasn’t disappointed, but I wasn’t thrilled. The pulled pork was sauced before it was served - many restaurants do this to “hide” a subpar product. The pulled pork was average at best. The hot link looked fabulous, but was a bit dry and chewy - disappointing. The broccoli salad - interesting side in a BBQ joint - was fabulous (go figure), and the cornbread was quite good - HUGE portion. The brisket looked great, but I didn’t try it. My colleague had chopped brisket, which I never order - and it was meh. I hoped for this place to be special, but it truly was average. Loved the atmosphere - really fun.

Great warehouse atmosphere with communal tables. Indescribably succulent offerings and sides. Opted for 1/4 lb. brisket, 1/4 lb. ribs and bbq bean side. Mouth-wateringly satisfying from first to last bite. Full, inventive bar and place shares space with high-end coffee spot. An excellent farewell to a Chicago weekend!

Visited this place on a cold night, my 1st impression was they need to crank up the heat as it was chilly inside and I didn’t want to take off my coat. Other than that the experience was really good. The food was fresh and tasty and portions were very generous. The bar itself is lovely & quirky. I would love to go back in summer!

The shortest I can tell is "the legend". No more. Chopped brisket is the bonus of the night. We didn't want to finish the night.

I eat BBQ fairly often but this off the beaten path place in Chicago really blew me away. Walking through the front door which is on a bit of an alley I wasn’t sure what to expect. But, once inside was delight by the aroma of very well smoked meats. The pastrami was actually buttery with a melt in your mouth smoked texture. The ribs, in my humble opinion, were as good as it gets. A must stop for me on all future trips to the Windy City.

Nestled in an alleyway off Green Street midway between Randolph and Washington, is the entrance to Green Street Smoked Meats. There is a pleasant outdoor dining area, and a door leading to a cavernous indoor dining space. Service is cafeteria style. I made the mistake of arriving at peak lunch hour, and waited in a line for 25 minutes before I could place my order. The good news is that the line was parallel to a long bar, from which one could order a drink while waiting. The bar staff were prompt and friendly; the selection of beers was very wide. When I reached the head of the line, the process of ordering was quick and effortless. My choice was smoked chicken leg, pork ribs, and pickled vegetables. The taste of the chicken was splendid, but unfortunately, the meat was slightly underdone. The ribs were properly cooked, but rather bland; the dry rub didn't do much to enhance the taste, nor did the two kinds of BBQ sauce that were available. The pickled vegetables were plentiful-- portions large enough to share. Perhaps I just picked a bad day. There was plenty of seating space, even at the peak lunch hour. By the time I left the restaurant, there was no line and one could dine immediately.

I have been in this place looking for a barbecue restaurant in Chicago using tripadvisor. You order at the counter what you want to eat, they cut the meat you have chosen in front of you, weight it and then you pay and choose a table where to seat. I have chosen the brisket. It is very very tasty and price are affordable: around 11$ for 1/2 lb. I strongly recommend this place.

Great smoked meats, great beers, great people and great location! It was a pleasant discovery in my first trip to Chicago but I will definitely return! Strongly suggested.

Bustling, casual BBQ joint at Green St. and Randolph St. Stood in line for about 30 minutes to order at lunch time on a Thursday afternoon but it was well worth the wait. Go for the pastrami sandwich. Tender, melt in your mouth smoked pastrami. Sides are ample portions. Seating is first come, first served picnic tables both inside and in an adjacent courtyard/alley.

Green Street Smoked Meats in Chicago offers a mouthwatering barbecue experience that is not to be missed. Tucked in a trendy part of the city, this spot has quickly become a favorite for meat lovers, and for good reason. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the inviting aroma of slow-smoked meats, setting the stage for a delicious meal. The menu at Green Street is simple, yet incredibly satisfying. I opted for the brisket, and it was nothing short of perfect—smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. The meat had the ideal balance of bark and tenderness, and each bite melted in my mouth. The pulled pork was equally impressive—juicy and full of flavor, with just the right amount of seasoning. Their sides are also a standout, especially the creamy mac and cheese and the perfectly seasoned pickles, which provided a nice contrast to the richness of the meats. In short, Green Street Smoked Meats offers an outstanding barbecue experience with top-notch smoked meats, flavorful sides, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's a must-try for anyone who loves great barbecue. It’s no surprise that this place is so popular—it truly lives up to the hype.

Managers, service, and the food was five star. the sides are excellent. I recommend it all. The only thing that needs work is the beans. Great place cant wait to take more friends and family.

What a fantastic place. We stumbled on it during a visit to Chicago last year. Friendly staff walked us through the ordering process, I chose the Thunderbird rib meat sandwich. I still wake some nights with a tear in my eye thinking of that sandwich...tender, delicious, sweet, marinaded with the sweat of the Gods themselves. Sublime. Pay a visit, you won't be disappointed. They also had Raiders of the Lost Ark on the TV screen while we were there so they get an extra thumbs up.

I know this review might be long and dramatic to some, but I believe it is justified to ensure people are not treated rudely in the future. the staff here was extremely rude for no reason. my friend and i had sandwiches and came to sawada (coffee shop) and did not know that ALL the tables there were owned by green street - it was a very large space. we got coffee and donuts and sat down at the nearest table and started eating the sandwiches. a man approached us and rudely said we could not eat our sandwiches there with no explanation. we were a bit confused because we've never been to a cafe that doesn't allow you to eat other food, especially because we got drinks and donuts from the cafe. but we obliged and put our sandwiches away. an hour later, my friend ripped off a small piece of her sandwich and different man immediately came up to us and aggressively told us to stop eating or he would THROW AWAY the sandwiches. again, no explanation. and i cannot emphasize how rude he was when speaking to us. we were honestly quite shocked and ended up leaving, and we asked the sawada staff about the seating and they helped explain that it was owned by green street. Now, I completely understand if we are not allowed to eat outside food, that is NOT the issue here. however we DID NOT KNOW that the seating was owned by green street and we absolutely did not deserve to be talked to extremely rudely and threatened to have our food thrown away. If both men had kindly explained that the seating was for green street and they do not allow food, i would have no problem with that. the problem i have is the completely unnecessary RUDENESS. just be nice please, we are all grown adults.

I have eaten here tons of times. I love everything they offer. If you don't get here early, you won't be able get taste the brisket.

We are from KC and know our BBQ and this place is great! Tried the brisket, ribs, brocolli slaw and cornbread. All were excellent!

BBQ is top notch. It's hard to compare to other good BBQ places around town because they are all good. BUT, this place IMO has the best sides. That's what makes it better than the others. The beans, the slaw, the corn bread! VERY good sides, order 1 of everything!

The best Pastrami / Brisket / Pork belly you are gonna eat in your life. Also the bar is great, Max poured me some great local beers from Local Option, Off Color and Half Acre, just an amazing experience

Delicious! Everything! Especially the pastrami, pickles and Cruz Blanca 555. Wish I could bring it all back to NYC with me

I popped in for food whilst in the area. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato salad. Both very nice and would highly recommend

The line was an hour long to order your food, although they said it moved quickly, it did not. We got to the front of the line only to learn they were out of ribs and it was only 7:00 -- which was what we waited in line for. This was the second time my friends had been there and they were out of ribs the previous time they went too. They would not go back - ever. Not worth the wait.

This is without a doubt the best BBQ in Chicago. Not only the food is fantastic but the environment is great too. We had a delicious lunch and an amazing experience. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. I love their setup and the staff is very friendly as well.

Joining our two sons, that live in Chicago, for a Sunday evening 'meat feast' exceeded all expectations! The place (quasi-warehouse feel to it) was unique, the flavorful cuisine was plentiful and the beer selection (and full bar) was awesome. Overall a casual evening of food and fun!!

Had the pleasure of popping in to this incredible eatery of smoked meats and more and thoroughly enjoyed the bbq aesthetic, food and service. Katie at the bar was amazing. Smoked Pastrami sandwich recommend by Katie was one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended.

OMG! The brisket had to be the best I have ever tasted. It just melted in your mouth. Had to tell the owner on my way out, how great it was. The St. Louis side ribs were very tasty and the pulled pork was good although very salty. The baked beans had nice chunks of pork belly. The pickle/slaw was spicy. If you order the half, they will mix the cuts of meat so you can sample an assortment. Fills up fast and is very popular so get there early.

We came here for drinks before having dinner at the ramen restaurant located below it. The atmosphere is super cool and fun, we loved the music. We didn't eat there so I can't speak for the food, but it's probably not the kind of place I'd typically eat. I'd go back just to hang out though!

Want to try some great BBQ? This is the place. The brisket and ribs are awesome. The side of Elote Style Corn is to die for.

Ordered on the DoorDash app for hotel delivery. After a long delay I received my order of brisket and ribs. My order exceeded expectations and the sauces were an excellent complement to the meats. I will try to revisit in the future.

Stumbled across Green Street Smoked Meat while going to a Ramen Place. The restaurant has an indoor/ outdoor space that is really cool and industrial. There's a number of different meats to try. I've had a few of them and they were all amazing. A little expensive but worth the money and experience. Located in a hip area with plenty of restaurants around.

Stopped by this well-known smoked meat emporium for some dinner. Not interested in hanging out in the restaurant under the current circumstances. Got there early (about 4:45p) and was served promptly. Got home and discovered the chicken was majorly undercooked. Red blood areas near the bone on both halves of the chicken. Took eight minutes in the microwave to correct the problem. Everything was tasty, but food safety fail is a serious problem. Tried calling the restaurant immediately after discovering the error, but "no manager available to speak with me".

You like meet ? Go and enjoy this incredible place. Renovated from old industrial building, meat is tasty, juicy and good enough to turn a vegan into a meat freak:)

The food was great! Outdoor dining area worked great for our family of middle ages, young adults & littles!

we were headed to another place around the corner, but the wait was too long so we went here. Glad we did. BBQ was delicious and very friendly staff to help us with deciding what to order. Great chice

I wasn't expecting the type of smoked meat that we get in Texas. Actually I wasn't expecting much at all. Totally wrong. This BBQ joint does it right. We tried the sausage (spicy but good), pulled pork (great vinegary sauce), brisket (tender with a good bark) but by far, my favorite was the smoked pastrami. They don't do that in Texas! It was great...super tender and nice bark. No sauce needed. The potato salad was excellent, also...big chunks of potato with a creamy dressing without mustard. I'd eat here again and bring my friends.

My second visit and it’s been a few years, everything was very good. The meats were full of flavor and very moist. Learned my lesson from last time and didn’t gorge my self. I got a small portion of each and savored each and every bite! Stop in!!! You won’t be disappointed.

Visited Green Street the other Friday night for dinner. Service was very fast and friendly. The atmosphere was very cool and relaxed. Food was incredible and came at a good price for the quality. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic lunch at this spot. I ordered the pulled pork and my wife had the sliced one and both of them were extraordinary : smoked and tasty as it can be with a BBQ flavour. Delicious The atmosphere is also very nice. Prices are not that cheap (around 12$ for half portion which is really enough) but quality Is there so it's definitively worth it.

Heard about the place, read the reviews, had to try it out. Outstanding. Sliced brisket a must - ask for the point sliced brisket, regular patrons told me that it is even more moist than the "normal" sliced brisket - and we had the prime rib which my wife loved. Next time we'll try the pulled pork and ribs, but I'm still dreaming of that brisket! The service is like cafeteria style - you go up, tell them the meats you want, and they slice it up right there fresh for you. Same with the sides, tell them what you want and they put it on your silver metal food tray. They also have a full bar. Cool atmosphere, an open air "barn" area and "indoor" seating. Not the place for a fancy dinner, but excellent still!

Certainly the place for real BBQ. I had the beef brisket sandwich with a side of totally awesome baked beans and cole slaw. I added some mild sauce to my sandwich, but it would have tasted even without the sauce great. Very different atmosphere and serving style. Would definitely go again.

What a great place to have BBQ! We had just eaten at Smoque a couple days earlier so I was really curious how this would stack up. So close! I’ve been a couple times to Smoque. Plus and minus of both: GSSM is a little more expensive than Smoque $24 for a lb of Brisket vs $20. No fries at GSSM vs incredible fries at Smoque. The brisket meat seemed a bit more tender at GSSM but the flavour at Smoque was a little nicer. Way better BBQ sauce at Smoque. The ribs at Smoque and GSSM were excellent! Same with the pulled pork. A tie. I really wish GSSM had fries! The decor at GSSM is so fun! Hands down beat out Smoque. GSSM has top notch bbq as good as the best Austin Texas spots. I would highly recommend a visit to GSSM!

I´ve been visited Chicago em 2018, April with my husband and a friend. We love it. Great food, atmosphere!

Hipsters high on BBQ AND Lone Star Beer. Great BBQ, cold beer, authentic cave like atmosphere with picnic tables and dirt. Very cool place, fine dining Chicago prices for BBQ.

Wonderful! Great food. Great prices. Great atmosphere. It was our first stop on our weekend and set a great tone for the trip. The prices are reasonable and the people were friendly.

We went to this restaurant while visiting Chicago (Wicker Park area). When we first Googled the location- the lights are what brought me in. Honestly, when we got there the pictures match the physical space. I.e. the lights and picnic tables are great! From a food perspective ironically when we go to BBQ locations we love eating the sides more than the actual meat. Green street had a good selection of sides and were very tasy. We ordered their Brisket. It was definitely top notch, but not as good as other locations I have been to. Their sauce was tasty but not anything special. The vibe of the restaurant was really cool. Eating at common locations, ordering from the bar, and enjoying each other in this location led to a fun night out. Awesome work.

Located in what feels like a converted warehouse (that also houses High Five Ramen and Sawada Coffee), dining here is an experience unlike any other. The meats are very well done. You queue up for your food and order by the piece (a sandwich for example - I recommend the Warren Moon, beef brisket and sausage) or by the pound (a pile of pastrami, perhaps), a few sides (the potato salad is a knockout, the cole slaw is very good), a friendly worker assembles your tray and then you try to find a place to sit. There are dozens of communal tables plus a bar. All in all, an incredibly delicious experience.

This hidden gem is a must! Reminded me of Texas BBQ. Its simple, grab a tray, walk thru the meat lines and tell them what and how much you want. Meats are prepared every morning, so things run out as the day goes on - though it is open late and Ive never been disappointed in the variety, BEST Beef Brisket, pulled pork and Hot links are my favorite. Great variety of salads, potato and macaroni salad, 3-bean salad, cole slaw and many more. Country and Rock music is loud and off actual records. Picnic tables to share with your fellow diner. Drinks are in mason jars and beer options are plentiful

Excellent place! Didn’t come to the area looking for food, but stumbled into the place looking for a place to eat. Little did I know they have BBQ by the pound. The drinks are also great. They have a good selection of beers. One unique thing that caught my eye is the fact they played their music from vinyl records!! Rare! Crowd was good, seating is open so it’s easy to meet people and be social. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this place!

Great!! Not sure I've ever had better brisket. Beans and hot sausage also good. Reminds me of the best BBQ places in Texas where I lived and dined for 27 years.

Had dinner there with my extended family, I was total amazed, food was absolutely amazing price was reasonable and service straight away

We're BBQ fanatics, so we were looking forward to Green Street. In all fairness, we went before closing on a Sunday night. They were out of ribs, brisket, and beef ribs. The shredded brisket was stewed in sauce and tasted terrible, and the sausage was nothing special. The space looks like an authentic BBQ place, but the music was too loud and ruined the vibe, and the possibility of having a conversation.

Had to try. Great BBQ - Food flavor and selection. Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage and Pork Ribs were favorites. Nice Selection beer too !

Spectacular, we loved it, very typical place, good music and better food. We ordered brisket, pastrami and a small portion of pulled pork, potato salad as a side dish, we thought that we would be short and we almost couldn't handle everything. Spectacular, tender and tasty meat, highly recommended

I walked over from downtown to this wonderful place in West Loop area. Its old fashioned and I have to say, they got it right in every way. The selection of IPA's were excellent and the Old Fashioned I had was the best one I drank all week (Wild Turkey 101!). The smoked meat you order and collect at the counter and the chefs couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Everything was excellent but I have to say the Brisket was the best I've ever tasted.

This is an off the track for tourists but what a place to eat. Barbecue smoked meats. You are asked what you want such as sliced or chopped brisket, chicken legs, etc. Side orders such as coleslaw, potatoes salad, corn, beans etc. Also bread or rolls and drinks. This is all put on metal trays with grease proof paper. The place is wooden floor, long tables with benches, old barrels and good size bar. The place is friendly with a great atmosphere and frequented heavily by Chicagoans. Would highly recommend.

Loved everything here. The atmosphere was great and we sat on the patio. Good beer selection. The food was served cafeteria style. We had pulled pork and ribs. We had corn, baked beans, and potato salad for sides. Everything was delicious and we will be back!!

The atmosphere inside Green Street is electric! It’s a chill environment with long plank tables and benches that make it easy to squeeze in large groups; or visit the loft area - perfect to bring your laptop and get some work done while you feed off the energy in the room. Happy music and a great bar add to the vibrancy. And the food!!! The meats are amazing, with a sauce that’s the perfect combination of sweet and smoky with a little kick. We had the broccoli salad, (drooled over our neighbors cornbread!) and the Mexican Street corn - OMG! I’ll go back just for that! We’ll definitely be back to visit this gem on the West Side.

We had a group, so we tried the brisket, short ribs, pork belly and pulled pork. The short rib is sold by the rib, so you need a crowd to help eat it. The brisket, short rib and pork belly were delicious. The pulled pork was only OK. For sides, we tried the spicy pickles, broccoli salad and corn bread were wonderful, too! The large pretzel looked better than it tasted - so get your pretzels elsewhere. The atmosphere is fun, food is served family style on a big tray.

A great find, and a awesome experience for two tourists visiting the country for the first time. It was almost like we walked into a movie set. We had pork ribs with coleslaw and spicy pickles on the side. The meat was really good.

Cool location. No need to make a reservation - you sit where you want. We had to queue for about 15 minutes but it was worth it. Apart from the meat try the potato salad. Really good.

Wow, this is close to the best bbq ever... probably the best ribs ever, and same wrt brisket. Pulled pork was good rather than great. Fantastic beers. You can easily spend half an hour in line

I had pastrami, pork ribs, and a beef short rib and loved the pastrami and pork. The beef rib was okay but not quite as good as the other two. The side selection is a little wanting but I had a homemade pretzel that was amazing. This place has a dark, industrial sort of ambiance to it. The food was really good. I'll be back.

Very cool space with a great relaxed atmosphere. It's kind of an informal dining experience, but it's great if you are there to spend a bit of time and have a few drinks with freinds as well. The food was really good and they also have a decent selection of drinks.

We passed it up on our last trip cause it was PACKED. Well worth the wait. Hot Link, brisket, pastrami, pork rib, prime rib, and pork belly. Don't forget the sides: baked beans (okay), and Elote corn. Phenomenal! Oh, they have Malört... odd, I skipped it, this time...

We love green street meats. It’s a neighborhood favorite of ours with a cool vibe and great bbq. Our friends love it and we often bring out of towners here. It can be a crazy long line on Saturday nights, but if you’re willing to drink while you stand in line, it’s a good time.

Really great environment and food was absolutely delicious. Brisket was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

We are arrived late and I think all the meat was already out of the ovens and was a cold when served (this is for the brisket). We had sliced brisket, pulled pork, hot link with a Frito pie. All good, a little disappointed with the brisket although a special note about the hot link sausage as that was our favourite. The ambiance is cool and I would recommend a stop there if you have time.

My wife and I have been coming here for years. The food is consistently tasty, and the staff have always been extra helpful. The vibe is simply amazing, and you can immediately tell that you've walked into a unique and special place. They also have a really nice bar in the center, offering all sorts of craft beers and cocktails. It's a nice plus in that they're also not too pricey as well. Especially when you compare the bar to the immediate area in the west loop.

I enjoyed the food, it’s exactly what you would expect. But I got fooled into getting the prime rib, which is very expensive and isn’t that great.

Not only is this fabulous BBQ, it is an amazing “Jewish Deli”. I am from NYC area and know good pastrami and this might be the best. I really like the simplicity of serving on a tray and paying by weight albeit quite expensive per pound. Brisket was also good but would go right to the pastrami. The Sausage link was also good. I want to return for the short rib of beef.

In town on business and we were diverted to this place by an American colleague who has always found great places. Its out on the fast developing west loop where the number of trendy on message bars and food places is amazing and worth seeking out. The place looks like any warehouse from the outside and you get access via a side alley though a rusty steel door. Quite a sense of discovery has been established! The inside is one very large space with a large central bar with a tremendous choice of beers and drinks and some very nice industrial styling and features. The whole place is cobbles brick and rusty iron cladding and it looks as if someone rocked up and opened a bar in a derelict building. But look again, the feel and execution is very well crafted and considered, very nice design even down the the toilets. The food and service is very simple. Bench seats and shared trestle tables, wipe clean no cloths or plates! Queue up at the counter and order grab some sides pay take your tray, white bread and plastic forks and off you go. Food choice is smoked BBQ meat just the way you dreamed they do it in the USA. Long slow cooked over wood in huge racks of meat. You order by weight they cut and slap it on a paper sheet on a tray, simple but brilliant and only about 8 things to choose from. We shared a rib of beef some real pulled pork, brisket, chicken and a link sausage between 3 of us, a lot of meat, we ate the lot it was stunningly good, falling apart tender and so so tasty. Add some great coleslaw, very nice creamed sweet corn and it was just BBQ heaven. All for about $70 for 3 No need to book just roll up and queue, not really and place for vegetarians and it’s a very long way from fine dinning but I promise you will be telling all your friends about this place. A brilliant experience and would go again and take friends.

A couple of our friends took us here for St Patrick’s day and we were not disappointed! It’s kind of cafeteria style where you order the types of meats you want (pulled pork, ribs, beef brisket, etc) and sides and at the register they weigh your portions and you pay per pound. It was reasonable and the food was delicious!! Was a great time, definitely will be returning!

Went on a Monday evening with a friend. Already at 7 there was quite a queue but we were served within 15 mins. I had the pastrami with a hot link and spicy pickles and beans. Unbelievable tasting pastrami, melt in the mouth with a smoky bark you could die for. Fantastic hot link and the side were also epic. The beans had some smoky pork running through them and the spicy pickles were just right to cut through all the rich protein. Wonderful beer choices and knowledgeable and professional staff throughout; these guys clearly love working with such tip top produce and drinks. Make sure you go there hungry.....

This is a nice place to eat a good barbeque. You can order meat by slices (weight) so you can actually taste a little bit of what they have to offer, which makes this more interesting. Also the ambience is quite interesting and beer is good.

its the best, it was told to us, you have to go..we did, awesome great food, people, cant wait to go again

Had dinner here on July 10. The reviews were the main reason I tried it. The BBQ was mediocre at best. We had pork ribs and chopped brisket sandwich with potato salad baked beans and corn bread. The meat did not have much smoke flavor. The ribs were tender and had a nice smoke ring. The sandwich was nothing special at all. The potato salad was gross and the corn bread had what tasted like jalapeño. That was not mentioned on the menu. If you like standing in a long line for ordinary BBQ, this place is for you.

Glad we discovered this hidden treasure in the West Loop. Great barbecued meats and tasty sides, worth enduring the long lines. We visited Green Street with our family, ordering all the meats on the menu and many of the sides. Everyone was impressed with the quality and flavor of all their meats, great barbecue! The sides were very tasty as well, the Elote Style Corn was fantastic, everyone agreed this was our favorite dish and a must try. If you enjoy great barbecue, you won't be disappointed, this is exceptional barbecue and will satisfy even the toughest critic.

Really Cool Joint. Great Beers and some wicked Cocktails. We went there on Sunday Afternoon. It was crowded. Loved the sides like the cornbread and potato salad. The Frito pies were devoured in seconds. The side ribs were among the best I've had with generous smoke rings and great flavor. When we were there, the brisket was tasty but a little dry. The pastrami was excellent. But my favourite was the Carolina Red Sauce - they call it vinegar sauce, but true vinegar sauce has no ketchup or tomato in it. Carolina Red Sauce comes from central Carolina and is halfway between Vinegar Sauce (Carolina Coast) and traditional BBQ (Western Carolina). The Bartenders and staff were very friendly despite the crowds.

We came here for a family meal on a Sunday evening. We are very happy that we arrived early as the line became very long as we were getting ready to leave. Excellent food and fun atmosphere.

Wondering where to get the best brisket sandwich? Just get to this place. Food is amazing and it's casual and cozy even if you don't have company. Loved the music.

I have not plumbed the depth of Chicago’s BBQ scene but have spent a lot of time driving the shacks in Texas. Green Street is ok for so far north but hardly a ‘destination’. Cool part of town but probably wouldn’t last long otherwise. Brisket was dry for the most part except a small juicy fatty piece that whispered of potential. Pork ribs were edible but not notable. Jalapeño cheddar hot link was good but a decent butcher makes better. The sides were fun with Frito Pie but the real standout was the corn. Sauces are also pretty good to zest up the dry fare. Bar was super slow but well stocked. Customer service minimal. Atmosphere chic redneck with a touch of corporate kitsch. Not saying I wouldn’t go back if I lived here. It won’t be back as a tourist.

Great experience for our family. Very casual setting which is part of the ambiance. Looking like an abandoned warehouse, you walk up and select all the meats you want. Staff is awesome. Food was spectacular. Reminded me of roadhouse bbq in Texas.

Hot pastrami , Pork Bar B Q, Beef Brisket .... Take you pick. This place is a must visit if your in the area.

Brisket, ribs excellent. Broccoli salad good, coleslaw not, potato salad in between. Cornbread interesting.

Suggested by a friend, we met here for BBQ and both left disappointed. Read on for details. A dark industrial interior with wood benches, smokehouse feel and plenty of young adults made for a great vibe; clearly Green Street Smoked Meats is popular. The long line moved pretty quickly and we ordered brisket and pork ribs with baked beans and elote style corn as the sides. The brisket, save for the fat, was dry, without smoke and reminded me of pot roast. The ribs were dry, chewy and dominated by salt. The beans chunky and not soupy, which was nice, but too salty. The elote corn, suggested by my friend and new to me, was interesting but, again, too salty. In brief, dry, chewy BBQ lacking smoke and too salty. If this had been my introduction to BBQ, I'd never eat it again. OTOH, everyone there seemed to be having a good time so maybe you will too.
Come and eat early!
We arrive at this place in the heart of Green street to taste the real American BBQ, except that almost all the cuts of meat were already sold out despite it was still an hour and a half before closing. We are not discouraged and opt for sandwiches that were good and well stuffed. Wide choice of side dishes, excellent beans both chili and baked and a wide choice of beers. Nice DIY service at the tables The only thing, I don’t understand why for drinks they accept cash while for food they don’t...
