We enjoyed a wonderfully prepared brunch at a gorgeous courtyard setting to start our day multiple times.

Oh my God Collin was effing amazing. Not only did he accommodate poor the most amazing drinks but he also extended the hours of operation for myself and one other patron. Me being not from in town, made me feel very welcome, warm in a part of. I highly recommend service because of his Professionalism, dedication to his job and precision with his craft. Karina was our server for Thanksgiving lunch and she was great! We enjoyed the great views, attentive service and great selection of food.

The portions were perfect and the food was delicious! Written by my kids: I love the food and the way Karina was so sweet to us and made sure that we had a great meal together. Karina was very good with kids and gives them special stuff like whipped cream in your chocolate milk. She is also enthusiastic with the kids and nice to everyone. Karina was a great waitress and we had a wonderful meal together. Hoping to come back soon! Great way to start the day in San Diego!

We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast here. The crab cake eggs benedict was out of this world, the service was wonderful and the view beautiful.

Excellent restaurant, great service with Karina, but only disappointment was the lack of breakfast items on the weekend brunch menu. Don’t necessarily want a fried chicken sandwich, burger, or steak at 9:00am. Unfortunate because the weekday breakfast menu, which we had the day prior, was fabulous.

My friend and I were seated out on the balcony with a beautiful view of the resort’s central lawn and fountain. Our brunch consisted of the eggs benedict and salmon toast, both delicious, with the poached eggs we requested cooked to perfection! Karina, our server, was incredibly attentive and friendly. She even organized a little birthday surprise with chocolate lava and cheese cake desserts! Very much enjoyed our dining experience here.

The food was delicious and Karina was patient and kind making recommendations. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options and the menu is great!

Tucked away in the adobe buildings, Chef Dina prepares the best chilliquiles, huevos rancheros and braised short rib sobe on the planet! Thumbs up to the Chef and our server Lisa! Our new favorite Sunday brunch!

First of all, there is the sublime setting overlooking a perfectly manicured lawn and garden at Estancia La Jolla. Then, there is the menu, which offers excellent options. We couldn't decide between the salmon toast (with eggs, poached medium!) and the mascarpone french toast, so we ordered both and split them. But what made dining at Greenfinch truly memorable was Karina, our gracious server. Her genuine warmth and kindness gave each day a perfect start. Thank you, Karina, and everyone at Esancia La Jolla

Perfect location for any business you have at UCSD, Scripps, Birch Aquarium. Stunning oasis with friendly staff, and warm ambience! Highly recommend, Karina’s service @ the Greenfich Restaurant, and valet Joey. My new homebase when in town!

Disappointed that this restaurant was not open in the evenings, only listed as available for breakfast and lunch. Service was ok, but not as attentive as I would have expected. Food quality was good, but not exceptional.

The Estancia is a lovely upscale hotel where there are lots of conferences. Adobe is one of its restaurants. The setting is pretty, service is good but food is nothing special and portions are quite small. The wine list, however, is extensive. There are many better restaurants in San Diego...it may be better for breakfast or lunch!

We ordered a la carte instead of brunch. I had LOX while my sis had this crunchy delicious Mexican benedict. We shared. We loved it! We sat outside because we have our Shih Tzu with us. It's actually better to sit outside because of the view.

The food was great! The steal cut oats were amazing! Karina was very kind to me and my family and the place was very pretty.

I've been to many brunches at select parts of San Diego, but the Mother's Day Brunch at the Estancia exceeded my expectations!!!! The service, including management, was first rate, making me feel at home and like a valued customer!!! The food was beyond typical brunch buffet food, these guys pay attention to detail. Even the omelette bar was great, with special care given to each one, not just "whipping them out"!!! I'll go back for sure, certainly more than just for than special occasions. Beyond the service and great food, the grounds are beautiful, truly a hidden jewel in La Jolla !!

The food (birria chilaquiles and traditional breakfast (eggs/country sausage and fruit + amazing Bloody Mary) were spectacular. Madeline (our server) was awesome! 10/10 recommend!

The restaurant overlooks the courtyard. We've eaten breakfast and lunch here on several occasions. There is a nice selection on the menu, and the service is very good.

A lovely setting, fantastic service, and delicious food. Hard to beat the experience as a whole. It’s wonderful when the service (the wonderful Karina) is both attentive but relaxed and unhurried, getting every detail right. The short rib hash was fantastic, rich and flavorful, with a very generous portion of short rib and perfectly poached eggs.

Breakfast here is excellent as the atmosphere with fireplace makes you feel warm and cozy expecially in the winter time. Very good selection of eggs, waffles and french style omelets. Great coffee, danish, fresh toasted breads plus if don't see it on the menu ask- They will make anything you ask - almost. Friendly people and very timely with service.

We had one breakfast at Adobe El Restaurante. The atmosphere is calm and pretty. Had it been warmer outside, we might have eaten on the balcony. The food was tasty and appetizing.

I've stayed at budget to luxury hotels and have never had food that was so poorly cooked. Eggs were rubbery, Potatoes were cooked till black, bacon overcooked and coffee Luke warm..

This is the restaurant next to the lobby at the Estancia hotel in La Jolla. They have seating inside and out. Very friendly staff. Good quality food and reasonable prices. There are no other restaurants within walking distance, but why would you want to go elsewhere. I was perfectly happy to have breakfast here.

We come to Estancia La Jolla at least once a year since 2020. Nothing and nowhere else can compare to the great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and great restaurants and service. We love the breakfast at Greenfinch, the food is always fresh and tasty. Karina, our waitress, has been terrific, welcoming and super nice. We see her her every time we visit and she always goes above and beyond to make sure we are happy. And we always are! Definitely one of the best spots to stay in the San Diego area!

The food was amazing but what really shone through was the service. Karina was a ray of sunshine whilst managing to provide exceptional service during the busy brunch rush. We will be back soon!

Me and my mom had a great time! Our food was perfect, all thanks to Karina, our server. We luckily always have her as our server when we stay here and it’s so nice to see a familiar face and feel taken care of! they have weekend brunch till noon and with a build your bloody mary station. they also have an ala carte menu and the waiter was so kind and gave us tea and coffee to go..yes!!

We stayed 3 nights but only had breakfast here twice. Both times we experienced great service and really good food. The first day I had the steel oats with a bowl of seasonal berries. The servings were huge! The second day I had a bowl of seasonal berries, wheat toast and a side of bacon. All was so fresh and delicious! My husband had other items and both mornings our cost was $47 (this includes tip) donor cheap but delicious and convenient.

For my breakfast, Karina recommended smoked salmon toast. It had generous amount of lox and avocado with fresh green with flower petals. It even came with two eggs. I’m so full that I have to skip lunch. Katina checked on me and kept pouring fresh coffee. She was great!!! Thank you, Karina!

While they offer a buffet, we ate off the menu. My husband had an omlet and I had the fruit parfait. The parfait was really a work of art with layers of fruit, yogurt and granola. Beautiful presentation.

We had a great brunch at the greenfinch restaurant. We ordered the Lobster Benedict as well as the Crab Dungeness. Everything was above average, including the staff. Specifically Carlos, Madeline and Karina. They looked after us every chance they had and took great care of us. They were so on top of everything. Would totally recommend coming here for breakfast or brunch everything was so delicious.

My wife and I had breakfast four mornings. Fabulous! Watching our waistlines we asked to split out meals. Perfectly done, which makes it so enjoyable. Their Peerless coffee was truly delicious. Our waitress, Lisa, was delightful. We found out she is also originally from Massachusetts. She is an awesome waitress. Lisa is informative, humorous, and "on it!" It really makes a difference first thing in the morning when someone like Lisa greets you. Highly recommended!!!

I was super surprised at how delightful their breakfast is. I had the omelet which was actually really good but they had other great options too.. they even have a protein shake with your choice of fruit.

Our entire brunch experience was A+ exceptional and exceeded our expectations. First, The atmosphere was bright, elegant, and relaxed. The view of the courtyard was lovely rich with beautiful trees, nature, and felt very spacious and open. Like I was having an intimate breakfast fast outside. Our server Katrina was warm, caring, professional, and provided exceptional service. Everything you would want and expect from an elegant establishment. The food was a Wow! The menu had a long list of delectable options. It was difficult to make up our minds. Chef Augie's chilaquiles were the favored choice. This time I had the Buddha Bowl and Yogurt Parfait which both were extra special with fresh ingredients and a tasty twist on the dishes. I left loving the Buddha Bowl so much I want to try to make it at home. A true Wow! The Yogurt Parfait had the most exquisite granola. I keep wanting the replicate both dishes. But instead will come back again for another romantic, scrumptious meal with my husband. Thank you all for an extra special experience!

We visited Greenfinch for their Sunday morning brunch. We ordered their basket of pastries for sharing and it was absolutely delicious. There were five pastries - a chocolate croissant, a raspberry danish, a slice of gingerbread, a cranberry orange muffin and a maple bacon scone. Karina was our server, she was very friendly and efficient and she made sure we had plenty of coffee and tea as we ate. The plate of pastries was so generous that we took 1/2 of them with us for another day’s breakfast.

Karina was amazing, very accommodating, breakfast was delightful. Had the steak and eggs with chimichurri. Phil at the lobby bar accommodated our breakfast shots request with knowledgeable recommendations.

Breakfast, plain but decent setting, typical hotel breakfast food, nothing special. Atmosphere really boring. Saving grace restaurant overlooks deck patio. Lunch, outrageous wine prices, unless you like to pay 16.00 to 30.00 a glass for a lunch wine? House wines not on menu, ask fir them and you will save a ton. Beet salad had maybe 4 pieces of beats in it.

The environment is very impressive. It was my first day in San Diego after a long journey. The food and nice view was very refreshing for a person suffering jet lag. Ms McMaster was very helpful and attentive and made the morning even better!

I came here last Sunday with my girlfriends for a quick catch up. Overlooking the balcony it seems there was a pilates class occurring. With the beautiful weather and very fulfilling bloody mary's we all had a great time. I ordered the avocado toast while my girlfriends shared the Greenfinch burger. It was definitely enough in portion to split with others. Our server I believe her name is Carina was super friendly and attended to us without hesitation. Also your hostess was very lovely and very comical as well. I will for sure be back soon.

Had breakfast 3 of the 4 mornings we were there snd food was very good. What made it really enjoyable was having the option of sitting outdoors ( with electric heaters since it was November and chilly) and seeing the blue skies and well manicured lawn with star-based fountain. What made the breakfast exceptional was one of the waitresses named Liliana! Her smile, personality, and desire to please was above and beyond. We will go back!

The Greenflinch is destination food. I had the best biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs our first day here. On the second, I had the lox toast with poached eggs. The salmon was clear house-made and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The staff is so attentive and prompt. Both Madelines (yes there are two) are so kind and thoughtful), plus Karina takes such good care of you with such warmth that you forget you’re at a restaurant. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a meal at the Goldfinch regardless if you’re a guest at the Estancia or not. You won’t be disappointed

Food at the hotel was very good quality and fresh. If you don't have time to venture out to outside restaurants, your options are not limited by dining on campus

What a treat it was to eat at the green French restaurant at Estancia La Jolla hotel and spa! Their stuffed French toast, their crab eggs Benedict with béarnaise sauce, and all of their food was just decadent. All of the wait staff was outstanding… Very polite and accommodating… Many kudos to Esteban and the rest of the staff whose names I didn't get... but who deserve to be recognized anyway. They are not an expensive meals at this hotel by any means but the food was really tasty and creative and I highly recommend it.

1) Best chilaquiles in the city 2) Portions are huge and DELICIOUS, well worth the price 3) We went every day for 7 days during our stay, and service was never anything but impeccable. The staff must be perfectionists because from the host stand to leaving they were so cognizant of every detail of service. We got Karina nearly every time and we would only wish we got her EVERY time. She remembered our preferences our second day and didn’t miss a beat for the whole week. Can’t wait to be back again next year :)

The restaurant was Beautiful with outdoor seating. Food was quite tasty but very pricey. The atmosphere was very snobby and pretentious. So if that is your scene you will feel right at home.

Met my friends for lunch. Beautiful decor, and view of the courtyard. Our server, Karina, greeted us, and made our entire experience very enjoyable. We started with two appetizers, ceviche tostadas and flatbread and each one of us ordered something different. I had the pan seared tofu with veggies. It was delicious! We shared a banana tart, very smooth and creamy without being too sweet. Everything about our lunch with top notch and will definitely return. Make sure you tour the grounds after you finish your meal as landscaping is beautiful.

Estancia is a wonderful hotel and Greenfinch (one of the many restaurants on site) has a great breakfast. Make sure you ask for Karina because she is the best!

I have never had such a low-quality breakfast before, especially considering the cost of the breakfast. Sunday brunch was miserable, and shows the management's lack of experience with what a good brunch should be. If I were the manager of that hotel, I would be embarrassed to try to offer (and actually sell) that as a brunch. Given that there is nothing else to eat within walking distance to the hotel, you are a captive of low-quality, high-price food with bad service.

My fiancé and I went to Greenfinch multiple days in a row while staying at Estancia this past week, and we couldn’t have been happier. The food was legit on-point but it was our server, Karina, who had us coming back day after day. Karina was exceptionally friendly, provided us with very quick service, and rounded everything out with a lovely sense of humor and the warmest personality. She created an environment where we felt both like family and special guests of hers at the same time. We love both Estancia and Greenfinch, but we’ll absolutely be making sure she’s working the next time we have breakfast there. GREAT HIRE.

Madeline is a lovely server! She has taken great care of us during our visits to Estancia La Jolla and remembered our names from our last stay in April!

The frittata was delicious and the little one thought the french bread sticks were a nice touch for a kids menu. They aim to please and were quite quick. The buffet looked fantastic if you have a big appetite. Homey and comfortable seating as well.

Greenfinch is located in the beautiful Estancia hotel. The grounds are gorgeous, botanical, and green. My husband and I brought our dog, so we were seated on the restaurant’s outdoor area overlooking the grassy courtyard with a clear view to the fountain. Heaters kept us comfortable. Madeline was a fantastic server. She was attentive and seemed glad that we were dining there. She gave us good recommendations for local walks. We stayed at the hotel, so this was a lovely place to spend our mornings. I recommend showing up as early as possible to escape the brunch rush, which could result in wait times up to an hour.

I had a great time getting lunch for a friend’s birthday. Nate was honestly the best server we could’ve had for this birthday lunch and made the experience 10x better. The service was great and I’ll definitely be back again!!

The food at Greenfich was fantastic. Both the daily menu and the Brunch menu were lovely with more than just “the standards”. Even more fantastic, though, was our server, Carlos D. He was absolutely the best!! So attentive and engaging.

The midday menu was extremely limited, i mean to the point of being funny. And the guy who seated us appeared quite put out when we asked if they could bus one of the many dirty tables, rather than seat us behind a pillar. The food, we both had fish tacos, was ok. But the wine was good, and the service (thank you, Sofia!) was excellent.

I had the chance to visit the hotel and have lunch in their restaurant. The food was great and the service was outstanding, Karina was fantastic, super friendly and gave me the best food suggestions. Definitely I will be back.

Prompt, friendly service. Menu is broad yet short, which I like to keep from being overwhelmed. Great selection of drinks for happy hour. I'd recommend sitting outside (heated patio) for a scenic experience, but keep in mind this is a garden rather than ocean view.

It felt more like a personalized tasting experience than just ordering off a menu. Beyond the drinks, Sammy’s energy was magnetic—friendly, professional, and effortlessly engaging. She struck that perfect balance of attentive service without hovering, making us feel both relaxed and well cared for. The space itself is stylish yet approachable, with beautiful natural light during the day and a mellow, sophisticated vibe in the evening. Everything from the glassware to the garnishes speaks to a team that pays attention to detail. If you’re visiting Greenfinch, do yourself a favor: grab a seat at the bar and ask for Sammy. Their all you can eat brunch is only available on Sundays. There are two options: $18 for Continental (cold items only) or $27.50 for the all inclusive (hot and cold items) We originally were going to opt out of the buffet and order a la carte from their breakfast menu. But we quickly realized that most of their breakfast items (on regular menu) start around $15 or so. So I opted for the continental while the bf opted for the all inclusive. The buffet area and options are limited. It's actually quite small. They have a made to order omelette station, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, pastries, oatmeal station, variety of cereals, fresh fruit, chilaquiles, sausages, french toast (see pics). A few issues: - the berries ran out around 10:15a and we were told they didn't know if they would replenish the berries (which was odd as their buffet ends at 11:30a) - seating was a bit strange as there's no one there to greet you when you first arrive. I recommend sitting on of one of their outside tables overlooking the courtyard (someone will eventually come and serve you I believe) - I noticed that our server had to do all the refills of water and coffee as well as taking away the dirty dishes. There were times when things got a bit 'cozy' on our table from dirty dishes but 1) we had a tiny table for two and 2) it was getting busy that morning. But I think, perhaps, there are enough bussers that could help the primary servers clear plates, refill drinks, etc. So how was the overall experience. The bf didn't think it was worth the price but he also didn't take advantage of their omelette station. For me, the $18 was worth it because I enjoyed the fruit and the smoked salmon. More importantly though, the experience of having a laid back un-rushed breakfast in a beautiful resort trumped all other factors that morning for me.

We had an amazing breakfast at the Goldfinch! From our host, Della, who happily greeted us and asked right away if we had any allergies so that she could pass that information on to our server. Our server Karina took such good care of us! I have a gluten intolerance and Karina was able to talk me through the menu on what would be safe to eat. She was so attentive and made our breakfast so enjoyable!

Went Goldfinch for a family brunch and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is elegant and tranquil. The food was delicious and we had wonderful service. Thank you Karina for taking good care of our family.

Was recently at the Estancia for business and was able to catch their breakfast buffet on the Sunday I was there. The food quality, flavor and wide selection was one of the best I have experienced and our server Lisa, was awesome!! The breakfast during the week is very good too, but with several business functions going on, they can be understaffed and slow. I had two colleagues get up and leave because of it. With more staff scheduled when they know they have a lot of guests coming, they can avoid this kind of negative impact. Favorite dishes were the Braised Rib Benedict Sopes and the Juevos Rancheros.

Phil greeted me at the bar when I arrived yesterday evening and made me a wonderful cocktail called a Jungle Bird! I’m not usually a Campari fan, but it was perfectly balanced in this cocktail that was prompted by my request for something Tiki inspired that would make me feel like I was on vacation! Later on in the evening, we returned to the bar with some friends. It was a great treat to have more of Phil’s drinks before we headed off to dinner. Phil was awesome yet again by the pool today mixing up another round for me and my wife. This hotel is wonderful, welcoming, the staff remembers me and takes the time to make personal connections. This is a hotel that finds the importance in the little details and in this day and age that type of experience really matters!

We had a huge breakfast with family. Everything was awesome! Maddie, Carlos and Karina were amazing. We had an great meal, everyone enjoyed themselves.

We celebrated a friends birthday with cabanas at the pool, we all had the best time and were well taken care of by Nathan! He was so sweet and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. Great day and amazing food/drinks! Thank you again!

I had the quinoa salad with grilled shrimp. It was really good and healthy. I enjoyed it very much. Service was a little slow but I was not in a rush. Good place to have a relaxing lunch.

Gourmet breakfast selections and inventive lunch menu. Everything is made to order so don't be in a rush. If your dog is with you, you can dine on the heated patio overlooking the main courtyard. Whether you are staying at the resort or not, this is a great destination to eat and relax. Valet parking is not optional they will take good care of your wheels. Nice wine and beer choices for lunch.

We ended up dining here three mornings in a row because it was just that good. The coffee and food were absolutely delicious, and every meal was consistently amazing. Our experience was made even better by our waitress, Karina, who took such great care of us and even spoiled our pup, Nova. She was incredibly attentive and gave us fantastic dish recommendations. We definitely recommend this place!

My wife and I woke up late for breakfast on our anniversary getaway — not a problem for the Adobe and their generous and accommodating staff, most notably headlined by our server Lisa. The food was properly prepared and clearly utilized premium ingredients, down to the garnish. My wife raved about the French Toast while I was impressed with the attention to detail to my simple “Blackhorse Breakfast”. Again, our server Lisa truly brightened our day and made us feel like the only guests on premises. I have found this personalized experience to be typical of the Estancia, however, truly highlighted by the Adobe Restaurant.

Delicious breakfast. Waking up and walking over to enjoy an omelette with a balcony view of the garden was amazing, our server Kavina was a total sweetheart.

While the hostess is rarely in place to greet guests, once seated the wait staff is enthusiastic, accommodating and welcoming. Madeline was always delightful, quick and responsive.
