Disappointed in the time it took to get my food.

By Go02139556031 |

I ordered my food to go and was told that I would have my food in 20 minutes. I waited a whole hour for my food. It shouldn’t take an hour to receive a to go order. One person checked on my the whole time waited. I want to support black business but this is ridiculous!

Amazing Brunch

By Khalilah |

Visited this place Sunday morning & it was very busy. However, I walked in & felt like this was my regular spot!!! The hostess was a sweetheart & since I was alone I was able to sit at the bar next to the sweetest young lady w/ the most beautiful freckles & brown skin, and I had the bomb waitress/server! I ordered banana Foster pancakes, French toast and chicken wings. I also had a hazelnut latte iced, very delicious & of course I had of course the beignets. They're not New Orleans but they are very good and I enjoyed myself! The vibe, the energy, the beautiful & kind staff, the noise level and there's complimentary valet!

Not worth the wait!

By Suebedoo06 |

We were told we had a 30 minute wait, we waited an hour and 10 minutes! It was a nice day so we sat outside. We were waited on promptly, so ordered coffee but couldn't load menu on phone. Got menu and decided on what to eat. Ordered quick and easy foods. Had to ask for creamer twice. Did get our food quickly but my chicken gravy sandwich was warm, egg over cooked not enough gravy to cover. My husband had the Southern Benedict. It was wonderful! I used his egg to sop up my dry biscuit. We tried other breakfast restaurants while in Atlanta this weekend, will not be back. Surprised it had so many waiting for mediocre food.

Terrific!

I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful the staff was! Honestly some of the best service I have ever had. The food was yummy and the grits, OH MY! They know what they’re doing…perfectly cooked creamy deliciousness. We sat at the bar because we were heading out of town and couldn’t wait for a table. Shamar went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. We enjoyed the fried chicken biscuit sandwich, grits and Bloody Mary. If you are in the area you should definitely try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Pricey!!

By Erica M |

Delicious but absolutely not worth the cost. I understand seafood is expensive but a handful of medium sized shrimp and grits should not be nearly $30. It wasnt even a particularly large serving. Cut your prices by at least 25% and i would consider going back.

Saturday Breakfast

Always enjoy the beignets and coffee. Today I had western omelette. It was tasty. My husband had French toast which was ok. Next time I’ll try chicken and waffles.

OMG WHAT A FIND. Looking for a breakfast spot this morning. This place was rated pretty high. There's a reason for that. Seated immediately at a nice table in the center of the restaurant. Our waitress was awesome. She explained the menu and the items. She took our drink order and gave us time to go over the many selections and mouth watering choices. After a few minutes, the cook came by our table and asked how we were doing and if he could help us in any way. I asked about his shrimp and grits. He said that they were good but better yet was the catfish or snapper, shrimp and grits. Oh, that sounded even better. I was ready to order the picture on the menu of eggs, bacon, biscuit, grits, ect and now he brings this into play. Our party of 5 were all changing our minds at this point. I ordered the snapper, shrimp and grits. Two ordered the catfish. One shrimp and grits and one western omelet. The meals arrived and we all dug in. OMG. I've had great shrimp and grits but this place kicked its butt. The flavor of the fish and the batter was awesome. The grits were creamy and really fantastic. The shrimp were big and meaty and also tasted fresh and better than expected. My whole meal was fantastic. Everyone was commenting on their food and how great everything tasted. Not a single complaint or bad comment. That's is so hard to do with a group like ours. There's always someone that is not happy with something. Not this time. The service was non-stop. I was so full by the end. I wanted more but could hardly finish my meal it was so much and so rich. Everyone was ready for a nap. This is a must if your ever in Atlanta or definitely, in this area of town. You will not be sorry. I'm sorry we don't live here. This would be our spot for great meals. I highly recommend.

Great Place For Breakfast

We experienced great service from the time we left car with Valet until we left. Staff are excellent and friendly. The coffee as well as chicken and waffles were delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Great place for breakfast

Not your typical breakfast menu. Nice selection of omelettes, foods with a Southern flair, yummy coffee. This is the place to go for breakfast. Parking in the garage next door.

Great food, clean, welcoming!

By JGreenTLH |

The food was very good but the server and the cleanliness of the restaurant is what really impressed us. Devon as great and was a wealth of knowledge about the menu. If you get a chance to eat anything with grits or a biscuit you will love it.

Subpar Food

By Golfocean88 |

if you love to eat low quality food, you found your place. Food is basic standards for breakfast. The chicken and waffle is of poor quality - rubbery. Bacon was like eating paper or cardboard. Food was cold. potatoes with no season. Deserts was the worst I ever taste. Texture of cake is ****, while you try it and write your own store - horrible.

Hot Food hot Please

The order was was not prepared as ordered. The eggs were extremely greasy and the food was not hot. Though the atmosphere was not bad. We won’t be returning

Breakfast with a S M I L E

By Lynn J |

A chilly morning, but I woke up wanting some delicious breakfast. Well that is just what I got at Grits and Eggs Kitchen! It was hands down A M A Z I N G! Let's start with when you walk in the door. Greeted with a smile even behind the mask. People look happy working here and they all work together to keep things moving smoothly. I love that! Ok now on to the food. We had the chicken and waffles with the breakfast meal. Yum-O! Our server GiGi was the best. When she smiles her eyes close so that tell me she is really smiling and enjoying what she does. All in all I give this breakfast spot a 5....good atmosphere, CLEAN AND INVITING. GREAT LOCATION.

Never had a chance to eat

I’ve been to Grits and Eggs before. I came back because of the great food and experience. Decided to bring some friends from out of town…5 of us. We expected a wait on a Saturday morning but it got out of hand. Numerous tables were open that could’ve been pushed together to accommodate 5 but people that came after us were seated ahead of us. Lady at the front then told us she was putting some tables together in the back but had to make sure someone else’s food was perfect before we could be seated. What??? We continued to wait. Then a family of 5 who came at least 30 minutes after us got seated outside. We had to walk out after waiting a hour. Damn shame as we try to support our black businesses but they continue to let us down.

This ain’t Farm to Table!

By Jim T |

Though they claim they are a Farm to Table eatery, this place is far from it. “Farm to Table” in my world means you only use the freshest, locally sourced , ingredients available on the local market. You use those fresh ingredients and you create from scratch, your recipes that make up your menu. That is the only acceptable way to serve your guests/customers a true, Chef-Driven Meal and market your menu selections as Farm to Table. You absolutely do not take the extreme shortcuts that this establishment does by using frozen biscuits, bagged gravy with something imitating sausage. And your in the South, if your serving Fried Chicken on your frozen biscuits, don’t use a tough, un-brined and stringy boneless chicken breast. Come on Man…… Lastly, serve better coffee than you offer now (Costas). If you have great coffee, you can get away with serving average food. Unfortunately, the food and coffee here is well below average and certainly not worth the prices they charge. I think I paid $12 or $13 for the terrible Chicken Biscuit with something described as gravy. I had high hopes when I visited today for the first time, but was extremely disappointed with the lack of execution of their menu and a true, Chef-Driven and Fresh meal. I’d also be looking immediately for a true, legitimate, Executive Chef. You have a great location, get it together.

A Great Breakfast!

New Year’s morning breakfast

By Kari S |

I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here on New Year’s morning. My daughter and I stopped in on our way to IKEA. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Our server was fantastic. Service was outstanding, the food was hot and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall breakfast.

Rude attitude of waiters

By Maria k |

The servers were very rude and very unprofessional , they don’t know how to handle customers when we enter there we’re 4 servers standing but none of them came to our table and ask for the order even we were looking them but after few minutes we literally called them that we are ready to order.. not recommended at all…

Disappointed

By Grier B |

We won't be back. Eggs tasted like they were from powder. Sausage and Pancakes were average. Pancakes were supposed to be served with strawberries and blueberries. Ha there were 2 blueberries and one small piece of strawberry on our pancakes. Grits were good. Restaurant is loud and lighting is mounted inside ceiling fans which wobble and give a strobe like effect like a bad disco. We are used to First Watch breakfast quality. Very Disappointing.

Come here for breakfast!

By Whoodlegirl |

Excellent food. My husband and I came here twice after staying in a hotel near The Fox Theatre. I had the avacado toast the first day and eggs, bacon , and home fries the next. He had beignets the first day and the fried chicken sandwich the next. The food was great both days. The service is excellent. The soundtrack in the background is Motown. Love it!!

Oh, That Coffee!

By rfreeman2015 |

Grits and Eggs is located in a contemporary, tastefully appointed space in a newly developed neighborhood. The food was good but nothing special. Service was excellent, courtesy of Mia, who stopped by to refill my coffee cup at well-timed intervals. The coffee was the real standout. I like strong coffee and it really hit the mark, and it also was delicious. The brand is Costa and according to Mia, is available in Atlanta only at Grits and Eggs.
