Absolutely one of the best bets u can make in Vegas. Great wait staff that care. Food preparation that reflects attention to detail and flavor. A chef's chef in the kitchen. Ur gonna love it. If u want fast food or an over priced decor you want something less filling. Try collards and Mac & cheese . Fried catfish after the chicken and and might need a nap. Just great Freash Hot Food.

From hello the service was exceptional and the food amazing. My husband had the grilled shrimp bowl and I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was good, but the chicken wings were so fresh and lightly battered that i should’ve ordered 4.

Went here when i was on vacation to see the Usher Concert. The food here is AMAZING!! I loved it so much. Everything my friends and i had was DELICIOUS. I even took food to go. Didn’t have a microwave in my hotel so i ate it cold and it was still AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. When i go back to Las Vegas this is the only place i’m eating at.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who is from Las Vegas. I ordered the shrimp and grits bowl and my husband had the catfish and grits. Both dishes were delightful. My sister is an expert on pork chops and said that they were delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we went back to have breakfast at Gritz the last day of our trip. Everyone who visits Las Vegas should try this restaurant at least once.

My friend took me to this place for breakfast....holy smokes it was very good....I ordered the grits bowl with extra bacon and cheddar cheese....the grits were cooked to perfection....my dining partner ordered the fried catfish which she offered me a filet....sublime. I was very pleased but get there before the rush....we did and were rewarded.

The staff there was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I had fried catfish and grits and tasted my friends fried chicken wings which were the bomb.

The food and service was excellent I will definitely be back for more great southern cooking at gritz cafe

My wife and I saw the Gritz Cafe on a Netflix programme and so when we came to Las Vegas from the UK recently, we made sure we visited. It’s slightly off the usual tourist trail and we immediately found it full of local clientele, which we knew was a good sign. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff and great food - wow. This was one of the biggest breakfasts I have had and boy it tasted good. Waffles, grits, fried chicken and eggs. The waitress was so kind and gave us a portion of fried catfish to try as we’ve never had it. So if you’re in Vegas, want to get away from the strip and sample some great soul food, you will not be disappointed. We came midweek and got seated straight away, but I can imagine it gets busy at the weekend.

Everytime we come to Las Vegas we have Gritz Cafe. They have The best Gritz and Chicken. Yummy!!!! I suggest this place to anyone visiting Vegas. It is small so we order to go and eat at our hotel room

They close at 3:00 pm and off the beaten path, but well worth the visit. Prices moderate and good is excellent. They do service in high quality plastic plates and cutlery but doesn't matter....food was delicious. Place is small, but we didn't have to wait. Must go by this place.

Serving up tasty soul food since 2008, this local gem does not disappoint! Chicken and Waffles, and The Rich Boy(Shrimp Po Boy) are two of our favorite items to get here, and if you can, SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! The Caramel Cake was a perfect ending to our meal. Gritz Bowls are also a great choice! This is a very tiny spot that seats about 30 people and can get busy, so these are very important things to know if you plan on dining here: Upon entering, line up and PLACE YOUR ORDER FIRST at the cash register in front of you. Sit at a table and wait for your order to be delivered to you. If it is packed, KNOW WHO CAME BEFORE YOU AND AFTER YOU and sit at a table as they open up. DO NOT BE THAT PERSON WHO IMMEDIATELY SAVES A TABLE IF YOU HAVEN'T PLACED YOUR ORDER FIRST! With all that said, enjoy Gritz Cafe, it is worth the wait!

Found this while visiting Vegas when my aunt from Kansas was wanting some good fried chicken. Decided to try it based on the reviews. It was okay and I have had better back home in Philly & of course from my family’s home cooking. It took over 30 mins of continually calling for the line was busy. Thought this was an indicator of great food but not really. Finally able to place our order for take out and for 3 platters, 3 drinks, & 3 desserts, I was set back $75! Again, thinking this was going to be some great food, meh! The wings were ok and small. The fried fish was great and so was the sweet potatoes but all the other sides we ordered were blah. The Mac & cheese was so so and the collards & steamed vegetables were horrible. Even with salt, pepper, & hot sauce, we still couldn’t doctor them up. The sweet potato pie was ok. My mom & aunt really liked their peach cobblers though. Not worth the money.

Gritz cafe specializes in African-American type food. The service is very good as is the quality of the food. There is plenty of street parking and there also parking within the venue located on the side. The venue is small and is very busy so prepare your visit accordingly and factor in possible wait times. There is dining in as well as take-out.

Came here for the first time a few days ago and loved it. The food was great, the staff were very friendly, and such a wonderful atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Being a transplanted southerner I miss this food and was so happy to find it in, of all places, Las Vegas. The grits and the collard greens are exceptional and the service was superb! I enjoyed it so much that I went back a total of four times in the 6 days I was in Las Vegas.

My husband and I were in Las Vegas last week celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. I was looking for soul food and we were definitely treated to an awesome meal of grits, catfish, collard greens, grilled shrimp, Arkansas chicken and gravy...... and loads of attention and impeccable service. Trina, the owner, was also serving at the tables and what a lovely hostess she is! From the young lady who took our order with great patience to the young man with a lovely smile who waited on us, everything about the place was just awesome. It was our last Sunday in Vegas after a two week holiday and we were sad we had not discovered the place earlier during our holiday. We will definitely go back next time we visit Vegas. Well done Trina!

You know the food is going to be good when the line is out the door. Gritz Cafe serves traditional soul food in a family friendly, community oriented environment. The wait was too long, 1.5 hours on a Saturday morning, but once seated the food were served fast and piping hot. The hospitality is excellent and the staff served you with a smile even though they were running 100 mph.

I love great grits and I found them at the Cafe! A wonderful professional atmosphere for all to enjoy! The chicken was crispy and delicious! A well kept secret to great food is the Gritz Cafe!

There was nothing special about this place. The waffles were extremely hard. The catfish was tasteless. The chicken had some seasoning but it was too greasy. We were very disappointed.

Excellent grits! I can't wait to go back even though it's out of the way. I took a friend and she really liked it too. PROS: Grits - creamy, thick and smooth Grits bowl with bacon and cheese CONS: Small dining area/possible wait on weekends

Down-home southern style soul food restaurant. Small, but quaint, excellent food, and very reasonable prices. My wife and I eat breakfast here at least once during each of our Las Vegas trips.

I went to this restaurant because I saw a review by Turn It Up World on YouTube. They were right, the food was awesome. Chicken and fish were crispy and flavorful. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, the candid yams were so good I lost it (I had to get more). My wife had the chicken and waffles and she said it was great. Thanks to Turn it up world for reviewing this great restaurant.

1st time visit today. Little space, but HUGE deliciousness, friendliness, service & GREAT! Don't miss out!

No way to know about this place unless someone has been there before or you read about it. But what a cute, good find! Serving down home soul food, this little place is packed during peak hours. If you want to dine in at lunch, you'd better either go early or prepare for a long wait. There's only a few tables in a very small space. The food is really good. We were there for lunch and had the wings and the shrimp basket. Very tasty - nothing great - but solid. There are a lot of other options on the menu that we will try. A really eclectic place to visit and well worth it.

The food here is great. I've been here several times and have enjoyed each time I've come. The grilled biscuits are excellent. I'll be back soon.

The food here is excellent. The shrimp and grits, catfish, chicken wings, collard greens, and the turkey chop was delicious. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit. The staff is very friendly. The place is a bit small but if you go around 1:30 you can get seated. The food is cooked fresh to order.

GRITZ was absolutely amazing!! It is off the beaten path indeed as stated in the previous review. But sometimes it takes a "local" to show you the best spots. And GRITZ is indeed one of them. The restaurant is contemporary and fun. Not very big...but a whole lot of flavor and warmth! They offer both breakfast and lunch...very reasonably priced. The food quality is EXCELLENT! Portions are very generous. Staff is genuinely kind. We were overwhelmed because the owner came out to ensure that our experience was pleasureable. When we get back to the valley...there is not doubt we will be back!!! When you visit...ask what GRITZ stands for!!

Ordered chicken and waffles and both were great, place is very small, only a few tables inside. Great food done southern style the way I like it.

We ate here for breakfast on July 28, 2015 for breakfast. I had the catfish with potatoes, mac and cheese, and corn bread. All our food was fresh and made to order the portions was more than plenty. The customer service was superb too. This is a quaint spot I recommend it highly.

The food was great but the price that you pay for paper plates and foam cups is way to expensive if it wasn’t for that I might come back or if I win at the casino this place is worth a visit if you don’t get sticker shock

I most definitely will back... This will be my new Beakfast /Lunch spot whenever I come visit Las Vegas . Keep up the good work GRITZ CAFE 👏🏾

The service was good. The food was fairly decent and reasonably priced. I did not care for the cornbread or Mac and cheese. The grits were good and the chicken was decent, but could use a little more seasoning. I will visit the next time I'm in Vegas.

I like this place, but it so small so I try to call in my orders to keep from having to wait shoulder to shoulder or in the heat. But that as of late is a fail also. Today I called and was placed on hold so long I forgot I was on the phone until it hung up. I attempt to call back to see what happened and the line is busy. Good food but not worth the hassle.

Went with 11 friends definitely not the place for large groups it's really small and only a few tables... Stand in line to order, then sit down and they will bring your food to you!!! Everything was really good between 11 of us we had a little bit of everything I had the chicken & waffles with a side of grits it was all tasty and came freshly made and very hot... Tasted the cornbread muffin it was yummy.. Tasted the shrimp very good.... Potatoes were just ok for me... Had a piece of fish it was good... I paid $16.00 for my meal so the prices are ok but the portions are huge.. I will definitely go back my next visit to Vegas...

It is very cramped with little eating place inside but has tables outside. The food was not too bad but not worth the $26 we spent. The food comes on plasctic plates with plastic spoons, forks, and knifes. The music they play is irritating, but they do keep a full house of customers in the business area of town.

Saw reviews of this place and decided to take a chance. We were NOT disappointed. I've eaten grits and cooked grits all my life but never tasted grits like these. We enjoyed it so much we went two days in a row! We arrived around 10 and were seated easily however seats are limited and it gets very busy.

I was pleasantly pleased with Gritz. We arrived and there were a few other patrons in line and already dining. Ordering was simple and the wait time for food was short. The different foods that were ordered between our party were: regular grits, cheesy bacon grits, potatoes, sausage, waffles, and chicken. We usually don't like to eat in restaurants that feature food that our family specializes in cooking because we are often disappointed, however, that was NOT the case with Gritz; we were extremely pleased with all of the food! The grits were well seasoned and smooth, the sausage was good enough to be compared to the Alabama sausages our family loves (and that we can only get down south), the potatoes were on point, the chicken was well flavored, and the waffles were buttery & tasty. Overall, this small restaurant is by far better than other waffle houses and southern restaurants that I've been to...my personal opinion of course!

Best fried fish and grits I have had in a while. The fish was fresh and crispy. Grits are creamy. Also tried the chicken and waffles which is delish. Chicken has great flavor and the waffles were goid. I will be back.

5 people and we all enjoyed our Breakfast from catfish and grits to chicken and waffles to eggs, sausage and gravy over homemade biscuits.

Really nice people and service. I went during breakfast and it was really good. The people were really friendly too. Make sure you go early this place is really busy.

I wanted chicken and waffle in Las Vegas and goggle to find it, read a few reviews and decided to try it out. It is off the beaten path, only locals knows this place, as it is not that near the strip and nestled in residential area and some offices. Who knew that this place would have the best fried chicken and waffle. The batter on the chicken was very good, they ran out of whole chicken parts and used wings instead - no complain there. It was "oh..so..good"! Beside the chicken and waffles, we tried the chicken fried steak with gravy and finish off with a peach cobbler. Pricing is reasonable. I rather eat here than stand in the buffet line to eat mediocre food. Gritz café, you have my 110% vote!

Excellent food! Very busy on Sunday, but worth the wait, but the people watching will keep you entertained. I had egg whites and turkey sausage and while it sounds boring, it was the best egg whites and turkey sausage I have ever had. It was nice to see a health conscious option on the menu.

Based on the positive reviews, I expected something better. This place is filthy & in a very scary part of Las Vegas. I can’t attest to their food because I didn’t stick around long enough to try it.

Food was delicious and that’s why I gave Gritz 4 stars. I had the shrimp and cheese grits bowl with a side of catfish!! Yummmmmmm! My only concern is they need a different ordering system. We stood in line for 45 mins because their was only one person answering phones and taking orders. It was ridiculous. More staff is needed. They need one person cleaning tables. A couple people running food and 2 people at the front.

They are very friendly, and they make sure you're waiting on right away, and the place is very clean and they have soul food.

The food was great. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal. The only negative I have for this restaurant is the seating area. It’s very small and nowhere to sit. It was too cold to sit outside. But the food is Delicious

Go here! Very rarely do I find grits cooked right! All the right topping choices too! Daughter and I ordered fried shrimp, wings, waffle...all excellent! Go to Vegas regularly and this will be in the rotation!!

This place was recommended to us by a friend. The fish was very good and the chicken was ok. The chicken coating tasted more like fish seasoning. Came for the grits and they did not disappoint. Waffle was a bit thin, tasty but felt like they were make with the last spoonful of mix. Friendly attentive staff. Will definitely eat here again when in Vegas.

This place has really great food and great service. The employees are down to earth. The only downside to this place is that it's a very small restaurant and it can get a little busy during certain times of the day, so you may have to wait a while for seating. Also the seating is very cramped. Additionally, carry cash to this establishment as you will either pay .50 per credit and debit card transaction or their debit/ credit card machine will not work. But their food is so good. I love home cooked style food. I think they need to relocate to a larger facility to accommodate more patrons. I would definitely recommend this place to eat.

My husband and I were on vacation in Las Vegas and we ran across this spot.I had grits with onions and cheddar and my husband had chicken and waffles. The food was very good and the service was even better! I'm a southerner from the east coast and I approve!

It's Small. That's important to know, because you can easily not get a table. Probably best to avoid the weekends and late morning. Lots of people order to go. We were lucky. Staff had time to explain process and we had time to order. (Grab menu from wall as you walk in) after we ordered, it was a short time before the food arrived. The grits are the bomb. Get them. The Louisiana plate came with one beef sausage but you could order more. WithTwo eggs and a grilled croissant, it was more than filling. Eggs were cooked to order. Finally, this was one of the cheapest & best breakfasts in Vegas.

Found this place on a google of fish and grits. It's great. Seating seems tight but the flow make everyone able to get a seat before their food comes. Ppl are friendly. Food is excellent.

We decided to take a trip off the strip for breakfast and we were not disappointed. Food was great and customer service was amazing. Super friendly staff

First time but not last great customer service. I had two catfish and two wings Mac and cheese and candy yams. Everything was great enjoyed the great customer service and food. Meet the owner Trina great witness her do great customer service.

A few friends took me here and I owe them BIG! We came for breakfast and I ordered the biscuits & gravy w/2 OE and grits. The mountain of biscuits & gravy was impressive, but I have never seen such small eggs. The grits, on the other hand, were some of the best I have ever had. Everyone does things differently and those chose to pout on the gravy and them add chopped sausage on top. I believe it makes a better gravy when you cook the sausage and then add the cream, etc. to make the gravy, but it was still good. They have a banner outside for getting voted Best Soul Food. I don't doubt that, but with that in mind, they need to learn how to make iced tea. What I got was a glass full of ice, topped with water and a lemon ginger tea bag at the bottom. That is NOT Iced Tea, but the waitress happily replaced it with a Coke. I can't wait to go back and try with fried chicken and catfish.

Place is out of the way but worth the trip. Very good chicken and waffles. Also true the catfish and it was some of the tastier I have ever had. The staff was super friendly and the prices were reasonable. Not quite Roscoes but very very good soul food!!!

Finally made it here and absolutely love their breakfast! Good thing we came today (Easter) as it wasn't crowded and their was no wait. You order at the counter and pay for your food and they bring it to you when ready. I had the fried catfish with eggs over medium, grits with cheese and cornbread. Perfectly fried, grits were perfect and everything was tasty and delish! Coffee was good too! Other items my fam got were fried chicken wings, hot links and waffles. Everyone was pleased and full. We will be back.

This is my 4th visit to this place. Food has been consistent and so has the service. The atmosphere is great as well. Maybe more seating will be in the near future.

This spot has the best fried catfish & chicken in town. Everything is fresh and made to order. Any time I have out of town guest I enlighten them with this great treat.

This spot is great for breakfast or lunch. Try to get there early because they normally have a waitlist as it is a smaller restaurant.

This little cafe is off the beaten path but once I found it, I was not disappointed. The chicken and waffles and grits were kicken! I had some peach cobbler that tasted like my mama made it. They give you alot of food for the price too. Waitresses were friendly. I was glad to see this type of place here in Vegas

Here for breakfast and had the fried chicken wings, eggs, grits and biscuit. The food was excellent and the service was friendly.

Both the food and the service received are well worth the slight wait you'll have when dining in. Everything is cooked fresh and made to order and the staff all great you with a smile and a welcoming hello. To speed the line up, they provide you with a menu while you wait so you can order and get seated. Hands down, this place had the best non buffet breakfast that my group had while in vegas and we will continue to come here for breakfast whenever we are in the city moving forward. I recommend the Chicken and Waffles along with the grits and catfish. Highly Recommend

My husband and I went to the Cafe Grits for the first time and it was Terrible the customer service was very unprofessional the waitress seated us with no menu for 10 minutes water down drinks utensils just wants up dated the hole restaurant needs to b updated with the employees.None of the employees was presentable no food cap or gloves. Now the food was Very Very Nasty I couldn't eat it at all I had chicken and waffles and potatoes grits the chicken was very blend the waffle was flat like a pancake the potatoes was just not it I would not tell my family and friends about this place I would give them F it's all bad even the decorations is ugly I hated to pay for my food when the waitress finally came to my table she asked how was the food I couldn't do nothing but laugh so hard because it was terrible the food is so Nasty Nasty

Visited this spot while staying in Vegas and i must say it was pretty good . Had a nice size portion for the price as well . I got the catfish plate that came with two pieces of fish, a choice of two sides and a bread . Would definitely come back again while visiting the area !

We went to Gritz today for lunch it was an okay experience. We didn't get the good customer service everyone else's review described. The food was good, but being a girl raised in the south I have had better. The shrimp lacked taste. However; the grits with cheddar cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and onions were really good. The fried chicken was also good.

When we went to Vegas for my birthday trip, I ate a lot of delicious food but I had a craving for chicken and waffles. After going to a couple restaurants, I couldn't find anything that looked good until I stumbled upon this place. My boyfriend and I went on labor day and it was packed but well worth the wait. The served big portions and the food was seasoned perfect. My boyfriend got the catfish, egg, and a bowl of grits and he loved it. Will definitely be making this a breakfast stop next time I go.

This was our first time in Las Vegas and this place was recommended to us by some friends so we tried it out. Glad we did. The food was excellent. I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the sweet potato waffle. Everything was really good. The only downside was the size of the restaurant. Really small inside but service was good. Also parking was FREE!! Not usual for Vegas! I would highly recommend

I love eating at grits because the food is delicious and they do have turkey bacon and sausage. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean. And you may even see a celebrity or two. Ive seen Mike Tyson and Political figures.

The smell had me at the door!! The dishes coming out the kitchen liked better then the last!!! The grits were absolutely on point!!! The catfish was so tasty it melted like butter in your mouth! My eggs cooked just right over my grits with the most flavorful hot sausage ‼️ It was simply delicious all around!

So good we ordered a second breakfast entree-and ate it! Awesome grits, fish, and shrimp, OH MY! My baby was craving grits one morning and boy did they deliver. And they were cooked perfectly, no lumps and not running off the plate. 5🌟's. Shrimp fried to perfection. It's a small business with minimal seating so you may have to get it to go, but its well worth it if you do. They are preparing for expansion into the neighboring building so that issue will be short lived. The owners sister stopped us on our way out to ask our opinion and thank us for stopping in. To me that is what A+ ownership looks like. Caring about customers feedback.

We found this place online and had no idea what to expect. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! The food was well cooked and very well seasoned--not salty and not bland. The cafe is small, so don't expect room to sit. But make sure you order enough for later. I had fried catfish and grits for the first time. It was perfect. I will certainly go back when in Vegas.

Where do I start. I have ordered prior and dined in before but this time was different. We waited in the heat for 10 min. We ordered at 10:44 . 1st off my friend ordered water with her meal and when I tell you the tap water needs a filter. She got all her iron today with one sip. While waiting we looked at the receipt which does not reflect the prices on the menue. I will be submitting pics for your viewing pleasure. After waiting 31 mins we asked when our food was going to be ready, we were told 15 more min. Whtf they do that at? Our food arrived at 11:31. It was wrapped in bags like we ordered to go orders. But I saw they were doing that with everyone, so I guess that's what they're doing. My friends eggs was not what she ordered so they had to make her eggs again, which didn't take long. I taste my grits and they already had either salt in them or they used salted butter. Either way I don't use salt on my grits so I mixed them with the eggs to take some of the salt taste away. (That should be something the customer decides.) And to top it off we had to fight the flies the whole time eating. I must say the chicken was good the grits was creamy. The way they have it set up now is takeout and dine in orders wait in the same line. Once in the front you order and if they don't have a table you go back outside until they do. I never saw a employee come outside to tell them it was ready. Needless to say I will not be back. Too unorganized and time frame from time of ordering til you get your food was too long for me. Smh.SMH.

Found the restaurant in search of local breakfast spots and it was a good choice. The wait was an hour as the establishment is on the smaller side and the food made to order so we opted for carry out which was only a 20 min wait. Glad we took the drive from the strip! We had chicken wings and waffles and catfish and grits with potatoes and were pleased with both for what we paid at $36 total. Hot, well seasoned, large portions…no complaints. Greats: Fish and chicken Good: Waffles, grits, biscuits, potatoes (but a bit salty) Being from Houston, TX down south it wasn’t quite as good as our local favorite, The Breakfast Klub eatery. Similar concept as far as dishes but flavor lacks in comparisons to but solid overall. I would give it a thumbs up vote and would visit again.

This food was beyond tasty and memorable. We had mix and match which was two wings, two pieces of catfish and two sides. Everythingwas perfectly cooked and seasoned.

My friends and I enjoyed a great meal and great service at the Gritz Cafe'.. I would highly recommend dining here to all.

I love the decor of the restaurant. The food was very good. They have a great variety of options to choose from. The employees were fabulous. They were very friendly and courteous. The location was awesome. Very peaceful and serene with great views.

Delicious 😋. Small seating area but worth the wait. Average prices and portions. Located away from the strip but worth the travel.

The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. More seating inside would be a big plus as we had to sit outside in 100 degree weather. Overall, this eatery is a new favorite of mine. If I ever travel to Las Vegas again, I will definitely eat there.

My party of 3 arrived at 7 a.m. on a Friday morning. There was only one other patron in the restaurant. The facility is approximately three years old and is small but clean with seating for 25 diners at seven tables. Restaurant is located on Stella Lake Drive which is off of Lake Mead between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Simmons. When you are ready, approach the counter and place an order. All meals and beverages are brought to the table when ready and served in throw away containers. Though we did use a Groupon on this visit, food is very reasonably priced, and very generous portions are served. We ordered “state” plate breakfasts, which were fantastic. Two of us ordered the Alabama which is six pieces of crispy, thick sliced bacon, two eggs, grits or home-style potatoes and bread (toast, English muffin or biscuit). The third person ordered the Tennessee which included two turkey sausage patties instead of the bacon but with the other items listed. Service was surprisingly slow, especially since no one was in the restaurant. Though staff clears your table, no one is really attentive to you, so you have to approach the counter for more napkins (no napkins are out for you to get yourself), coffee or water refills, etc. Aside from the service, the food is fantastic. Absolutely loved the grits, as they were perfect. Restaurant has a wide variety of specialties such as chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, a bowl of grits, and the “state” plates (nine total), as breakfast is served all day. The meat featured on the state plates include hot links, chicken wings, country chicken fried steak and gravy, catfish, pork chops, bacon, sausage (turkey or pork) and New York strip steak. With regard to lunch, Po Boy (fried catfish), Rich Boy (fried shrimp), Bubba (hamburger or turkey burger), Carolina Turkey (turkey home-style), Florida (grilled chicken breast), a BLT or club is available. Three types of salad are served with grilled toast, or you can purchase a basket of chicken wings, catfish, and shrimp. Soups (clam chowder and broccoli and cheese) are considered seasonal. Desserts include sweet potato pie, peach cobbler, banana pudding, choco-walnut cookies, and lemon or chocolate cake. I personally LOVE sweet potato pie and have had the very best – I give their pie a rating of an 8 – 9 out of 10. Beverages available include coke, diet coke, sprite, Dr. Pepper, lemonade, strawberry, orange, fruit punch, sweet tea, unsweetened tea, milk, apple juice, orange juice, and coffee. Restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with catering available. I would definitely return again.

The food is outstanding and the service was excellent. The Butter Pecan Waffle and Sweet Potato waffles were amazing!! The restaurant is super clean. The owner walked around and inquired how are food was which is amazing that she took the time. It is a small quaint place so be prepared to wait but it will be well worth it!!

so we found this little hole in the wall resturant following date night. we were on a souther food kick at the time and after researching the diffrent ones ( the menus are very similar ) this one won out becasue of how many reviews it had. the food did not disappoint. okay so down to the nitty gritty. it is not what i would call a typical breakfast. this is the best and i mean the best fried catfish and gritz i have ever had. it is an absolute must order. and then they offer your choice of sweet potato waffle or regular. and if u have never tried a sweet potato waffle. you HAVE to try this one. it will blow your mind. and unlike most places, where you get a choice between good food and good service.... this place has both. the ladies who work the front of the house are incredible. they seem to touch every table regardless if it is their table or not. you feel very welcomed when you walk in and sit down. so.... since we first tried this place, we have been flying back to vegas every couple months just to eat here. its that good. we verbally tell anyone who will listen. please, please give this place a try if your in vegas. leave the strip and go here. you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Outstanding food and Service! I had the chicken and waffles with a side of grits. Everything was seasoned perfectly!!!! I absolutely Love well seasoned food...they nailed it.

Everyone in here is so helpful! I know most people always go for the negative reviews, but when a place is this crazy great I have to put it out there. Food A++ Employees A++ Parking A++

Food was great! Family visiting from Dallas!Tx and we enjoyed ourselves. Not very much eating space. But food and wonderful service made up for that. Will be back on next visit💯

Our girl's trip to Vegas didn't disappoint. Heard about this place on IG. There was a wait, but it was worth it. We loved the food! I ordered chicken wings, fish, a waffle, and potatoes as the side. My friend chose grits for her side. The customer service was great! Our server was attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back!

I had catfish and grits. Others had chicken, grits and waffles. Everything was delicious. The place is small and you cannot sit at a table until you have places your order. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable. The restaurant was very clean.

This place is the definition of "hole in the wall". I didn't notice their sign requesting patrons stand in line and place their order before sitting down to avoid "holding tables". That was a first. Menu was pretty simple, a bit flimsy, with unflattering meal photos. Ordered the grits with our dish-served in a separate Styrofoam bowl-and they were a nice consistency and flavorful. The chicken was fried through but under seasoned; the waffle was nicely browned just like I like it. Plastic utensils were unexpected though. The staff was attentive to the patrons and well trained on sanitary conditions as we noticed multiple utensils fall to the floor and quickly removed and replaced with clean items. I did not notice any staff members wash their hands and was a bit annoyed when an employed came to my table and began taking the jelly assortment decanter BEFORE asking if it was okay that she take it for another table. The location is off the main street but quite busy/popular with the nearby company employees and locals. I found nothing special with Gritz Cafe that would entice me to return but it's a nice little spot that has found its way into favor.
Breakfast on the go
As we were leaving our girls trip we decided to find a black owned spot to have breakfast. There was a wait due to covid. The restaurant is small but they were able to social distance just fine! I ordered the fried shrimp and fries. Nothing to write home about. The food was ok. Id go back and try something else. However, our cup water had bugs in them. Smh
