We had mahi-mahi salad for lunch was very good. We did not experience the problems that others have mentioned about service. We sat down right at lunch got waited on right away. The food came out fast, drinks refilled promptly, bartender fun!

We were glad that Scotty's Landing has been "recycled" into Grove Bay Grill, at least temporarily because they still have a great burger served with thick cut fries, or chips as they say in the UK. The menu hasn't changed one iota but I did notice an effort by the new management to at least check on the diners, having 2 different people asking if everything was ok during our meal, and it was. Still one of the best views in town and for a cheap burger, beer and seafood joint, can't be beat.

Simply that - no frills, super view, relaxing atmosphere and freshly cooked food - ticked all the boxes. Thank you for a little oasis in a busy city! Maria and Paul. X

Had lunch with my son today and it was a great time. The service was very friendly, although the food took longer than expected it arrived hot and delicious. An Incredible view of Biscayne Bay as the back drop is hard to beat. The black or simply grilled dolphin were both delicious and the crap cakes are a winner.

we had a nice and warm evening in good company, with good food for a fair price! The view is fantastic!

Coconut Grove is the hidden gem of Miami. Quiet streets, top quality shops, and restaurants. After 2 months working my way through different eateries, I found it Grove Bay Grill. Great seafood, steak, ribs, hamburgers, entertainment, and one of the best views ever. The restaurant overlooks the active Bay Marina and mangrove shoal. Active boats coming and going but a slow pace in bay. Regatta Park nearby for a long walk around the Marina after lunch or dinner. Jeffrey and Stephanie extend their hospitality to every guest. Help is courteous and helpful with menu and timely serving. My favorites are the Conch Fritters and Blackened Dolphin fish with shrimps and steak fries. Seaford by the water - lovely

This is one of those places that you said how in hell people come here and they are still in business, let me see if I can be able to put some of the stuff that no only happen to me. But also I notice it with others tables.. for get about the service the only good thing about this place is the bay view other then that please do not waist your time here, You better off at Monty’s, the hosted keep sitting people for nothing the manager came out two times and that was it I spend here good 2 hours total of waitress 3 two girls 2 guys the one we have never came to the table to check if we need anything and the only time that she ask everything is ok was when I ask for the check I order Fred shrimp and it took for ever

This place has solid food. Good, but not spectacular. The service was good. We went on an early evening before the band started that was setting up before we left. The view is fantastic. I looked like a great place to have a happy hour with friends.

I was here in the past and now the name was changed. The service is better than before, we had a lovely waiter, she was friendly and helping us. The food is very good and the view ideal with the weather we had!! Worth a visit!!

Today I visited Grove Bay Grill for the first time and I am so happy I did. Exceptional service, quality food and drinks, and an unforgettable view of the water.

Very good experience. Food was tasty. The service was good. Can't beat the view either. Very good ambiance.

Colleagues and I were looking for a relaxed place to eat on the water. We found this through reviews. You have to park in the lot near the municipal building and then walk through the shipyard. It's a very relaxed place, nothing fancy. We got lucky and got a table right in the back near the water. Service was good and prompt. I had the seafood sampler. It's all fried. The dolphin, crab cakes and coconut shrimp was very good. The coleslaw seems to be made in house as it was fresh and crispy. The conch fritters were just ok. I guess I've had some great ones in the Bahamas so it was hard for these to compete. Our server was friendly and attentive. Oddly, we got our food with no napkins, so we had to ask. They also have a band that plays. It's nice that they are situated in a spot that allows you to enjoy the music but not have to yell at the people you are with to be heard. I would recommend and would go back.

Our waitress was very good but the food was less than average. The medium burger was well done and my dolphin fish sandwich was dry and the tartar sauce was bland.

My husband brought me here for lunch on a Sunday because I adore being near the water. The view was lovely, but be advised that there is only outdoor seating. We enjoyed the conch fritters especially, but were disappointed with a piña colada that cost $12 and in which I honestly couldn't detect a hint of rum. It was nice to eat seafood by the Bay, but I don't think I would go back.

We had a nice fried fish lunch with a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay. A bit cool, but nice "crab shack" sort of atmosphere which we love.

This place used to be known as Scotty's. Local favorite right on the bay in Coconut Grove. Kind of a dive, fried food...but the view! Since being taken over, literally, with the promise of better things to come, it's only gotten worse. Nothing has been done and it's just getting dirtier and more run down. We went over for what has become our traditional New Years Day drinks/meal. Our first clue should have been when we saw the tiki bar was shuttered. The second when we saw empty tables. We sat at the bar. After 15 minutes of not even a "I'll be right with you", we got up and left. LOUSY service! They weren't that busy, other people who came in after got waited on. Horrible bartenders, no sense of priorities. Won't be back.

You can't beat the Grill for a chill dinner/ sunset/ cocktail in the Grove. Had dolphin sandwich, local ale. My wife had salad and wings, both great, and son enjoyed his meal. Great band, beautiful night to watch the moon rise over Biscayne Bay. If your in town and want a cool spot for drinks or dinner, this is a great, affordable option. Our server was very friendly as well.

Stopped by grove bay grill for a late dinner and a cocktail with my husband. And we were not dissapointed! Great food, drinks and service. Absolutely recommendable. The place is a bit hard to find, because it is behind a bigger building. But worth a visit.

Omg is the word to show how I felt about this place the view of the ocean was amazing super nice and excellent service from benji if you every come across this server you won’t be disappointed for sure

Our visit took place during Coconut Grove Arts Festival weekend. As one would expect, the establishment was quite busy. For this reason, some delay is to be expected when you're more a less maxing out your kitchen capabilities. However, this can be easily overcome with communication from the wait staff. In this case it seemed as though they had either A) not scheduled enough staff, or B) had inexperienced staff members working that evening. While we were seated almost immediately after our arrival, and our waiter stopped by immediately to say hello, it was at least 15-20 minutes before he came back for drink orders. Then about the same amount of time before we got our water and began to order. The food arrived as expected with minimal delay and was worthy of a solid price/quality ratio. Certainly not a standout, but worth the money being paid. Our delays continued after the food had long been finished. This was a situation where once the check had arrived, you handed the waiter the card immediately so that you didn't have to wait for another 15 minutes to see him. All in all, I'd go back. This rating is lower only on the basis of the slower than to be expected service we received. It could have been an issue of staff calling off, or who knows what else, but if you're going to be super busy, I'd hope that the ownership group will hire more staff for those days.

Just arrived in coconut grove and went for a walk along the marina and stumbled across this place just as we were getting hungry. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was great and its a great spot to hang out and people watch especially with a waterfront table. Would definitely recommend

Don't come here for the food, it is bat food. The seafood is okay but they could be a little more careful with the cooking. What did surprise me was the seared tuna appetizer. Great little local hang out. People kicking back at lunch, some with their I-pads but everyone just relaxing. Good view of the marina and the beer prices are acceptable. Have been here a couple times and Friday night with the live music can't be beat, maybe add a little music during the week and see what happens. Heavy rain came through this evening and it was great that the new tarp roof was installed. Like I said this is just a local gang out, nothing special but a great place to hang with your shirts, t-shirt and flip flops. Just keep that in mind when you come and you will enjoy it.

We went here for lunch. It used to be Scotty's. a bit difficult to find and get to since construction has some areas fenced off. Food: one star . We ordered conch fritters and two tuna taco plates, guacamole (side). I asked for tartar sauce with the fritters. We received fritters and two plates of shrimp tacos. When this was pointed out, our waiter, Shawn did not remove the wrong orders, but apologized and walked away. He returned to say "I don't know how this happened, but we are out of tuna tacos. What would you like instead? We kept one shrimp taco plate, and the fritters which came without the requested tartar sauce. We now ordered on dolphin sandwich to replace the non existent tuna tacos. I asked for tartar sauce again, and it arrived after a long wait. The fritters were standard, with burnt hard bits of conch on the outside, cooked through inside. Standar, mediocre fritters. The shrimp tacos: The two shrimp were okay, atop a bed of cabbage and mango salsa. But, wait, WHAT? The tortillas were cold flour tortillas, never put on the griddle, never warmed, basically raw flour tortillas. The guacamole took three requests to arrive, and it was vinegary and unedible. The dolphin sandwich arrived with a large side salad, on a bun with lettuce and tomato. The fish was a bit overdone and tough, but good enough. Water was refilled, eventually on request. Service: two stars with extreme generosity. Our waiter Shawn was slow and forgetful. Okay. I watched the service around us and was horrified. Tables never bussed, trash on the floor. Shawn's service rag (the one used to wipe table) dropped out of his back pocket and lay on the floor for a while while customers and staff stepped over or on it. After a while, one waiter (see photo) decided after a few glances to pick it up and tossed it on an empty table. Phew eee. Value: zero Readers, you're on your own on this one. Tread carefully. Land mines await.

If you want a view this is the place for you. If you are looking for good food and good service then go somewhere else. This place has a great view of Coconut Grove Bay that you just cannot beat. So it is nice place to sit down on a sunny afternoon and have a cold beer. Sometimes they have some dude singing who is pretty good. Now that is the good about the place. The food is not always great, it goes from not bad to just about OK. The service is totally dependent on your waiter/waitress and how busy the place is. But I will say that it is getting better every time i go. The last time i was there a leg fell off our table, so it could do with a bit of an upgrade in a few areas but again, I am not complaining. Location location location....

my favorite place in the grove, it's a weekly date.....from the dolphin (which is fresh) to the chicken...........yummy in my tummy......

Went there tonight. Had to wait for 45 minutes even though there were 20/25 empty tables. Sat down. We ordered cheese sticks and oysters. 20 minutes later we were told they had ran out earlier. The table was dirty. The hostess trying to speed up everything was busing the tables and throwing all leftover liquids on the floor.....The beer was room temperature; we had to return it. After 1:20 waiting for the main food, i called the manager and told him to cancel everything. My kids had fallen asleep and i was to leave. Manager was a gentleman and took care of the bill. I have no idea what happened.... we have been there many times and its usually very pleasant......maybe they couldnt cope ith the memorial day weekend crowd....

We went with a group of friends. The food was less than appealing and not fresh at all,on top of that it started to rain and since the roof is a huge awning, every yard or so had a hole,we had to move twice, gulp down the food and then leave

We had lunch there last Saturday (sorry, I still call it Scotty's) and was very disappointed to be handed a NEW MENU! First,,,,,,how is it you change a menu on one of your busiest days (and expect things to go smoothly) and second......remove about the best and most Grove-centric menu item - cracked conch! Oh, and the prices went up a dollar per item across the board. Must have been to pay for the fancy laminated menu. We eat there at least once a month, but there are better places to get a grouper sandwich. Fortunately there's the view.....

Great ambience on the water. Probably the best fish tacos I've had (get blackened). Highly recommend.

We had a decent lunch at Grove Bay. The Planters punch with Meyers rum was mixed well. My wife ordered fish taco's at waitors suggestion, very good. Onion ring app was good but a bit greasy. My caesars salad was good. My son liked his fish and chips. The waitor was very good and atmosphere was casual. The view was very good.

Lets start with the good. The view is the best thing about this place. There is live music and there was some activity around the bar. The food was OK, not special. Lets go on to the bad. The service was slowwwwwwwwww and not very attentive. Took forever. Lets move on to the gross. At this restaurant they do something a bit odd. They have a condiments tray they bring to the table and on that tray was a plastic drinking glass filled with straws. The straws are uncovered paper straws. At first glance it may seem handy to have the straws there, even though you have already been served your drinks. It gets dicey when you look at the table next to yours and see a young runny nose board kid sort of playing with the tops of the straws. Then you look at the straw in your drink that you have been using for a half hour.

Grove Bay Grill is tucked away, right on the marina waterfront. It's a lively covered outdoor venue with a vibrant happy hour and dynamic bar scene. The casual food - tacos, ribs and the like - is tasty and well priced. Service is a little slow, mainly because the place is so busy. There ifs a live band, the night we were there the band was both loud and terrible. For that reason we did not linger, but in general the location, general atmosphere and food make this place definitely worth checking out.

Gorgeous sunshine and you want to be in in at Grove Bay Grill you can sit and watch the water and have good tacos served fast. Its a chilled out place to lunch slightly away from the hordes but in a great location. Menu straightforward and staff fast and efficient. Good value for money.

Really, truly bad except the setting. Favorable comments about the food in this place are inexplicable.

Terrible service if your not a Local. Expensive drinks even during Happy Hour, if your not a Local. Would not recommend for a visit.

i enjoyed the great food and seaview on the port, nice singer performing when we were there, what a quiet and cool place to enjoy drinks or snacks

My family (husband, 3 children & sister) and I had a terrible experience at Grove Bay Grill. We arrived around 7PM on a Friday in June to listen to the band and eat. We sat at one of the picnic tables near the band as the children like to dance to their music. The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full. After a few drinks we ordered the children's food. 15 minutes passed, no food, 30 minutes passed, no food, 45 minutes passed, no food. We asked the server several times where the food was and he kept saying the food was ready. We then ordered the adult meals. Again we waited... We told the server we were leaving and to bring us the bill for the drinks. Again the server took a long time to get us the bill. All of the sudden he brings all of the food and no bill. We were pretty upset and demanded the bill. We got up and waited by the exit to get the server to hurry up. Finally we got the bill, paid and left, very hungry. My family and I have been to Grove Bay Grill several times and always have had good experiences. We were so extremely disappointed that we will not return. It's sad because we enjoyed our past experiences. We liked the food, atmosphere and music, but the poor experience we had has just soured the thought of ever going back.

The place is very nice and the food was good but the service is TERRIBLE!!! our waiter's name was Naim according to the bill.. this man has the worst attitude and was very rude the whole time.

The Grove Bay Grill, which used to be named Scotty's, is in a great location. The view of the marina in fantastic. Lunch, Dinner, drinks, music. It's pet friendly.

Went based on a yelp review. The location is great at the marina, outdoor seating the wait wasn’t bad 15 minutes. Had a couple local draft beers which where pretty good. Service was good, but food just ok. Blackened DOLPHIN & SHRIMP. Restrooms in poor shape, not very clean. Overall I was disappointed with our visit.

I was very pleasantly surprised today when I found out that this place was still open! It used to be called Scotty's Landing and is one of the only (if not the only) Miami locals' waterfront hideouts with a great view of the bay. This is a non-pretentious, very casual and fun bar/restaurant where people come by car, bike, walking or by boat. It is vey casual and people even bring their dogs. It has a great view only surpassed by the atmosphere which is always relaxed and fun. The food is good bar menu with good burgers, dolphin sandwiches, salads and plenty of appetizers including very good conk fritters, fried calamari and fish dip with crackers. There are two bars with a full selection of drinks and both tap and bottled beers. There is live music in the afternoons and evenings (may only be on weekends). There is plenty of Parking but may be difficult to find if this is your first visit. I was served by Brian and he did a great job being attentive to my needs and efficient as well having a great attitude with all. They seem to have new supervisors which were very active and made the service improvements noticeable during my visit. Prices have gone up slightly but it is still very affordable and an excellent value when you also consider the unique view and atmosphere. This piece of Miami history is supposed to be replaced by a new project that, even though it is supposed to have some bar/restaurant, will never replace the great atmosphere, history and value that this place has given to all of us fans of Scotty's Landing and Now Grove Bay Grill! Don't Miss the Opportunity to visit and enjoy it before it closes its doors forever!!!!!......we'll miss it!!!

Ate here recently for a late lunch on a quiet weekday. Despite restaurant only being about 1/4 full and there being 4 or more wait staff, service was awful. Took forever to get drinks, place order, etc. Asked for a glass of water 4 times over about 20 minutes before one was brought to me. Food came out incorrectly. Food was decent and reasonably priced. Relaxing atmosphere but the lack of service kind of ruins it.

We stopped for a early dinner. The place is a little hard to find, thank god for GPS. My wife ordered shrimp tacos and she raved about them. I ordered Fish & Chips and it was very ordinary. That's how this tripped worked out. 1 good meal and 1 not so good. The service was a little spotty too. Never got the water we asked for. Nice view of the bay.

11/24/18; Four of us had lunch, two of us had the blackened fish and shrimp ($17) both good and fries cooked to order (crispy). My wife got dolphin bites which I finished and they were outstanding. The other order was a fish sandwich. My 16 oz. IPA beer was $7. The server was quick to fill the drink orders, water glasses and the food arrived quickly. It is hidden behind a boat storage and you park across the street in city parking for a fee. If you cannot find it just go towards the water.

Nice selection of beers, drinks and food. Great views by the water and nice to chill here Not much close by so this is hidden away

The view is nice but the food was just okay. We ordered fish and chips and a burger. For snack food and chilling with some friends is fine. The service is very slow though.

Wanted to eat Al fresco on a Friday evening so we opted to try the Grove Bay Grill. The restaurant is completely open air with thatched roof bar and local band providing beach type atmosphere. I would go for the view, drinks and stick with the burgers and fries which were very good. Tables and chairs were plastic but the seaside setting and the music made you forget the cheap seating. This is a great place to take the kids for weekend lunch. Most of the seating is covered so even with showers which are the norm for Miami, you stay dry.

We loved this restaurants. It's a very family and pet friendly place. The menu is simple and the food is always fresh and yummy. The fish or shrimp tacos are a most, as well as the dolphin sandwich. The staff is really friendly. The view is amazing specially in the summer months. On most weekend they always have a lively band. My only complain is that the bathroom need a little tlc. Otherwise, a little gem in coconut grove!

We regularly go here to have lunch or drinks before dinner. The views of biscayne bay and Dinner Key marina are great and the weekend bands are decent. Service is good, food is ok and the beer selection is small. Prices for food are ok but beer prices are expensive (eg. $16-17 for a pitcher of ok beer).

We hadn't been here since it switched over from Scotty's Landing. The service was pretty good although the food came a little slow from the kitchen. My husband and I both ordered the grilled snapper special with salad and a side dish. Both pieces of fish were overcooked and a bit tough. The mango salsa accompaniment was quite good as was the salad. I suspect that you are better off with the bar food, fried options and a pitcher of beer. Everything like that that came out around us looked pretty good.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful view while eating great food! The atmosphere is so inviting and the staff is very attentive.

The service was brilliant and the guy was chilled but really prompt. We went for a variety of dishes to share. All were decent an typical of the area. Dolphin fingers were especially good as were the chicken wings. Great place to watch the world go by. Music was cool, too.

It's on the harbor with nice views. Nothing fancy with plastic tables and chairs but the food is very good especially the tacos. Easy walk if staying in The Grove.

if you really dont care about food and all you want is a drink out by the water, then the Old Scotty's Landing is the place. they call it Grove Bay Grill now, but it will forever be Scotty's to the locals. the bar food is NOT good. sorry I am a picky eater. but it's nice to sit outside and have a drink by the water..

This is a great place to come and relax, while having a good meal on the water. My office is 4 blocks away and I still don’t come often enough. Did tacos are the bomb.

We got Axiliadora as a server, she was horrible, my girlfriend ran out of water and never got any, then asked for one to go and it took so long we left, she mumbled and never checked on us. With that said the food was great and the prices for miami amazing. Two people, two apps, two meals fifty bucks. There was a heavy set man with a redsox hat that sat us, he was very friendly and we wished he was our server, seemed a lot better

Americana at it's best with a great location overlooking the bay and tasty, abundant portions of finger food with a great happy hour. Teresa was friendly, extremely attentive to our needs and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the evening.

We had done some research on the best waterfront restaurants in Miami. This one was featured in many articles because of its location. That's pretty much it. The location was pretty spot on, right on the water, and super casual. Plastic patio chairs and tables casual. That's exactly what we like, only there is a pole in the middle of the table and so you can't really get to things, like say maybe appetizers you are sharing, not easily anyway. Also there was an ash tray upside down on top of it. The waitress removed it but left behind butts and ashes to blow into our drinks. There's no way she didn't see them! The condiment caddy that she set on our table had a bunch of bugs, red ants I think, and they began to crawl all over our table as soon as she set it down. When the waitress came to introduce herself she said "hi, I'm ________ and I'll be taking care of you." I smiled at her and my dad happened to already be taking a photo of the marina and he said "that's nice", and I guess she took it wrong and just walked away. She returned 5 minutes later and said "so are you going to talk to me now?" Nobody was ignoring her but she didn't give it that long of a wait for everyone to look down from their menus, and she certainly never moved to the next step of asking what everyone wanted to drink. So we're sorry if we hurt her feelings (????) confused... So now the food. We read MANY reviews to make sure we ordered the right food as we saw there were so many mixed reviews. Unfortunately we side with the bad ones. There was ONE good thing. The calamari was delicious! I wish that was all that I had ordered. The smoked fish dip was ok, it had pickles or relish in it, kind of weird. The beer was as other reviews say, not super cold but I would think that's hard to control if you are eating/serving outside. The reviews about the tacos being the best some people have ever had.....they must be eating at Taco Bell. I have no idea what those people are used to eating. I'd side with the people saying no good. We ordered the fish and the shrimp tacos, both blackened as people recommend. If you like your fish and shrimp tacos in a plain flour tortilla with shredded romaine, cheddar cheese, sour cream and canned salsa then go for it. I was thinking more corn tortilla, slaw, lime or perhaps a lime crema and cilantro. These were just weird. I even tried to eat just the shrimp and fish alone but they had a weird and bitter taste. The shrimp were over cooked and the mahi did not taste fresh......but we already knew that since the waitress said their fresh fish was mahi from Saturday (we visited on Tuesday)....this was our joke for the rest of the meal. The conch fritters which also had great reviews were mediocre and greasy and I kept having to remove "hard things"....no idea what, from my mouth because I couldn't even chew them. My son who eats like a football player didn't even finish his chicken tenders and I can tell you they didn't look good. Nobody finished their food. It was Gross. I had originally given 3 stars but as I begin to write this it went down to 2 and now as I get ready to write the last part, I have got to put it as 1 star. We had seen reviews about the nasty bathrooms and they are correct! Even more alarming, we were visiting on the 13th and the last bathroom cleaning checklist was put up on the 11th, however never filled out. So we are assuming/hoping it was cleaned on the 10th. But as all restaurant patrons know, if you see a filthy restroom-which they aren't embarrassed about putting on display for everyone , what does the kitchen-that is behind closed doors look like?

The Grove Bay Grill has a wonderful location but sadly that is it's best feature. The drinks are too expensive and the service leaves alot to be desired. The food was ok not great. They either need more servers or they need ones that take their job a little more seriously. The view/location is excellent but after that your expections and reality and a ways apart.

The new owners haven't done anything yet to improve this venerable spot. The awnings are decrepit and falling apart, bathrooms disgusting and the menu hasn't changed. Can still get a cold beer and fish sandwich. Don't expect much. Hope they invest in it at some point.

My wife and I came to this restaurant while we were down at a movie theater in Coconut Grove. This was the find of our whole trip. My wife had the shrimp tacos and I have the fish tacos and they were both fantastic! This is now on our list of must-see spots when we come to Miami again.

This little place by the water offers greats view to it and a nice beach environment. There is always a-one-guy-orchestra making us feel we are in some Caribbean island. Grove Bay Grill has been packed with people every time I visited it. Food is good, at times, and one can find from hot dogs to stone crabs and is good, tasty and fresh. If you are lucky, you can find an excellent waiter, if your are unlucky, no one would come to your table, they will come and go other tables and ignore you because you are not seating in their area. Management: take note of this anti-service attitude. Once, after ten minutes waiting to get the attention of one of them, we just got up and left. Not even the hostess care to ask what happened. The time we have ordered stone crabs they were served warm and we loved them! Tasted better than eating them the usual cold style. The other times, we just typical little shacks seafood platters. Make sure you specify how you like it cooked as they will bring everything fried, if you don't. Long ice teas are good and refreshing but so small for the price. A big downer are the restrooms, yuck! more like an outhouse. Don't think about it, don't go in them if you don have too, and if you do, do it after eating so you won't spoil your food. Management should be more careful about that since a bathroom can tell a lot about the state of the kitchen. Finding a parking space is tricky, if you can find their parking lot, but if you don't one can always park at the City Hall's unassigned parking spaces in the weekends or late at night, all free of charge. Over all, Grove Bay Grill has its good and its bad. We love bringing friends who ar from out of town so they can have the "Miami experience" without the hassle of Miami Beach. Prices are pocket friendly too and it is worth living the experience, with its caveats.

We where visiting the Coconut Grove marina and we just walked in. What a nice surprise! The ambient is friendly and welcoming, the place simple, quiet and bayfront. We ordered: mussels in white sauce(DELICIOUS), fries calamari, Cesar salad and two beers. It was a blast. We certainly will come back and this time bringing some friends with us. Food: delicious Place: bayfront, unpretentious, easy going style Service: prompt & friendly Prices: affordable

Late dinner here one night. We tried the blackened dolphin as well as the fish and chips. We thought the food was decent for the price. Nice touch being served our Kalik beers in cups with ice to keep them nice and cool.

This is a place that is hard to find. It is the old Scotty's Landing, next to the city hall and the marina. From the outside it is not inviting at all but once you step inside you will be happy with what you see. The view is awesome. It is a very casual place (plastic tables and chairs). The food is great and the service could be a bit slow at some times but the place is normally packed. This is a great place for lunch.

I used to come here often when it was Scotty's Landing and it was affordable. It was a place for locals and one of the few in Miami where anyone could come by boat to eat "on the water" without a hassle or paying a premium for the view. They no longer allow boats to tie up at the seawall and the food has gotten pricey.

This place was a little hard to find, but we were glad we did. The clams and conch fritters we shared were excellent, and every one enjoyed their dishes: dolphin sandwich, fish tacos, dolphin and shrimp. Prices were reasonable ... but the services was spotty. Long waits, the pitcher of beer wasn't nearly cold enough, and one persons order arrived six minutes after the others. White plastic chairs and plastic tables, but if you're looking for someplace casual and authentic, this place will work.

The wife had fish tacos and I had a burger. All were amazingly delicious. Highly recommended. Reasonably priced. A little hard to find. Hidden in the way back.

Great food!! Conch fritters! Fish n chips!! Blackened fish tacos! Upbeat tunes! Fantastic view. What more can be asked of a perfect outdoor Florida bar?? Scheduled for e Redevelopment, but really like how it is NOW!! Tom, our waiter!

Casual, inexpensive dining in one of Miami's nicest Bayfront neighborhoods, an easy walk from the center of town. Recommended.

Service is awful, unbelievable such a nice place with such a bad service. We asked for a pitcher of beer and came hot, then we waited for over 20 minutes until someone came to ask what we needed. Very bad experience

I suppose it was once a quaint place, but now it's run down and dirty, and the service was atrocious. Luckily it wasn't raining as the canopy over the tables is missing panels and is full of holes. The service was slooooow. Despite taking almost 30 minutes to prepare a burger and a grilled chicken sandwich, the food came out cold, the cheddar on the burger was barely melted, and the chicken was oily. All in all, a miserable experience.

Waterfront dining on plastic tables and a small bar stuck between marinas. Food was mediocre. Mahi was overcooked. Found an extra charge on my card a couple of days later

After lots of rain we were looking for good atmosphere and that's just what we found. Beautiful view, excellent attentive service from an experienced and competent server. Onion rings prepared on site were delicious as were our salad and blackened chicken tacos. A quiet Tuesday night and a good memory.

My husband and I were there on July 4th weekend under the new management of Grove Bayand it wasn't the same as when it was Scotty's. My husband had the chicken sandwich and it was hard (he left the sandwich after two bites) and I had the dolphin sandwich (it was ok). We were there for lunch, the price is expensive for the type of food we were eating (not to mention the price of the beer and a small soup). The only nice thing about the place was the view of the water/marina (that's it). The area we were sitting at had a fan over us that was making a very loud noise and we couldn't even hear ourselves talk. The canvas over the restaurant was ripped on different parts with holes that are taped. Was not happy at all with the price and the condition of the restaurant.

Great ambiance. Was very much the way Monty's used to be when I was growing up in Miami. Very chill vibe with outdoor seating. Good menu. Decent (but not cheap) prices. Easy walk if you're staying across the street at the Courtyard.

Ordered stone crab, asked for the small dinner plate (3 crab claws) and was told there only was only one dinner plate of 5, even though it was clearly stated on the "specials" board that there were 2 sized dinner plates, as we walked in. Dinner only came with one side, as explained. When we received our bill, the server added an up charge for masked potatoes (not disclosed when ordering). What? An up charge for mashed potatoes-absurd! Marginal, loud band playing. So loud you couldn't converse with your dinner partner. A lot of money for a marginal experience.

We had a great dinner with our teenagers at sunset here over Memorial Day weekend. The food was good - reasonably priced fish sandwiches and burgers that we all enjoyed - but the atmosphere was fantastic! Grove Bay Grill is located directly on Biscayne Bay, right next to "Dinner Key" which served as Pan American Airways' first seaplane terminal in the 1930's. We sat at a picnic table right next to the seawall, which gave us an excellent view of the yacht basin, in addition to the added entertainment of several novice boaters attempting to dock after a long day on the water. If you're looking for a casual place for good seafood or burgers right on the water, this is an excellent choice. We live more than 600 miles away, but we will definitely return whenever we get to Miami.

Visited for lunch on March 26. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food. Fish tacos, grouper sandwich excellent. Very laid back place. Would be a great place to drink some brews

Nice grill and Bar with nice view to the harbor. Great food for less! Come in and enjoy Stuff pretty friendly!

We were here during Coconut Grove Arts Festival and the restaurant was busy, but service and food were great! Anthony was our waiter. He was personable, quite competent, and our food came out in a very reasonable, but not hurried time. Food was hot and very tasty. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We'll be back on our next trip to the Grove!

Near marina, so lots of boat activity. Place is kinda rough, but that is the draw. Good live music. Just had drinks, so no comments on food.

Like others shared, the view is excellent and relaxing, right on the water. The food is hit or miss- I thought the dolphin sandwich was excellent, as well as the she crab soup and loaded nachos. Come here if you're okay with just sitting back and relaxing, as the wait does take long. Happy Hour is fun and good selection of drinks.

1) Appetizer was brought with our dinner and they were shocked when we asked why did we not have them BEFORE the dinner was served. 2) Fish Tacos - one bite of fish per taco. 3) Southwest Chicken sandwich - dry chicken and no flavor. Our friends had fish of some type that they sent back as it was not fresh at all. The manager however, was accommodating and replaced their meal with a salmon dish which they said was good.

Bear in mind exactly what to expect and have fun. Grove Bay Grill has a GREAT VIEW and is a simple place where you can go right after the beach or pool still wearing swimwear. Those were actually the two mais reasons I went there in the first place. The food and the service are not great but they're decent. There was also a musician singing and playing an acoustic guitar. Pretty cool. Now the best part: my daughter had forgotten her purse there, we came back to its rescue only about 30 minutes later and the waitress had saved the purse expecting its owner to return. Is honesty cool or what? Visit, visit, visit!!

This place is a GEM that has withstood the test of time. This is in a great, kinda hard to find location and so peaceful. Good food, good service, good drinks and terrific atmosphere.

A very relaxed marina type restaurant. Good food and music! I tried the calamari and it was terrific.

Service was terrible. I had guess from out of town, total of 6 people. The waiter behaved like he was getting the 18% tip due to 6 at the table. Did not want to make a scene and challenge the $ 29.30 gratuity charge in front of my guess. I wrote on the bill in bold large print "terrible service". In my opinion I will not return, and will alert all my friend to stay away. If management wants to verify: date 1-13-17, 08:36 PM, server Tony, # 5/50065, table 20/1

I love this location, reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. Gets a little warm in the summer month but so does the rest of Miami. I'll be back.

Nice place in Coconut Grove right on the water. It is a bit hard to find since you have to go through a boat yard to find it. But the food is very good, the service is wonderful , as are the prices. We shared a salad, and the fried seafood platter which consisted of conch fritters, Mahi Mahi, delicious coconut shrimp, crab cakes and slaw. A bit too fried for me but delicious nevertheless. My son had the chicken fingers dinner which was ok. The nautical setting is unique but the extra gem here is the view of the Miami City Hall which was the original terminal for the Pan Am seaplanes of the thirties. Nice. Overall- highly recommended

We had a nice experience. Great view, great service by elegant James. Met great manager Jeffrey. Ordered the fish entrée and portion was too small for the price. Same with wine. Ordered delicious Sauvignon Blanc which came in a rather small glass for $10. Fish tacos were great and well portioned. Same with sandwiches.

A great Place to have lunch with your family with a great view and not spending a lot of money. I definetly will go again.

Stopped in when we stayed overnight at the marina. It is very convenient to the slips so we gave it a try. Place is an outdoor environment so we didn't have to get dressed up. It was empty so we got to sit right by the water. Our waiter was great but the drinks were poor and the food average. I don't think we'll be returning to this place.

We went to Grove Bay Grill a few days into our stay in Coconut Grove and by that time, we had eaten in several pricier restaurants. We were looking for a relaxing place to have seafood and beers outside and enjoy the weather, and this was the perfect spot! A pitcher of Yuengling, conch fritters and fish tacos were just what I needed- no frills. The live reggae band and the staff were awesome too- highly recommend! Beware Google's directions when going here. Google sent us over by City Hall across the water, but we found our way by following the music!

There to participate in coconut grove art festival. Had gone to scottys several years in the past. Three nights in a row we sat in at the bar. Three nights in a row we had serious trouble even getting noticed. At the bar, just get me the first drink and you can go about your business for 30 minutes without a peep. Didn't happen. Straw that broke the camels back: instead of taking our order, bartender asked and took our menu to give to another patron without taking our order. Time to chat with the manager. Would you accept a free drink as compensation ? We didn't either. I just asked that he make sure we didn't have to wait to get our id and cc back (for phone chargers) without having to wait. Mmm well we still had to wait, but it was the shortest wait of the evening. Three bartenders ignored three nights in a row. The problem goes beyond those hires...

For years my wife and I have gone to this location to enjoy, bayside dining, warmed by ocean breezes with a million dollar view of Biscayne Bay. The local development folks recently failed to renew Scotty's Landing's lease. The new tenant, Grove Bay Grill is a poor follow on this long waits for service, cold food prepared in an apathetic manner. If you go, go for the view, not the food.

My family had lunch here recently and loved it ! Thomas, the waiter, was excellent. The menu had plenty of choices and the food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Tom kept our drinks filled up, well appreciated as it was hot. The atmosphere was awesome as we watched the action at the marina. Will definitely come back ! Well recommended !

Great place to chill out and take in the ocean air. Food was great too. We were there on a Saturday early evening and even got to hear a live band play. The only negative thing I can say is about the women's bathroom. It was in bad shape! No air conditioning, dirty with doors that don't close correctly. Other than that, cool place to visit.

This used to be Scotty's landing. Now under new ownership prices have increased and menu changed. the fish sandwiches are still good. this is a place for ribs, sandwiches, with some seafood offering. I love the location, and while the food is not the best the place is relaxing and convenient, you can ride your bike to the venue.

Miami have lots of options to have an amazing view to the sea, this is one of them if you are near Coconut Grove. Nice sidewalk near the harbor. If you go during the day, don t miss to walk up to the fresh market, but do it after eating if not you will be tempted to buy everything.

Went for beers and food late afternoon. Service was very slow, Bird poop on tables, food mediocre. No prices on menu for drinks. Good selection but food quality was mediocre, rather bland. Took forever to get bill and found an 18% gratuity had already been added. Used to be Scottys, great food reasonabke prices, no more. Nice venue location.

We went here after having been here years ago, it was good but not as good as my taste buds remember. One of our favorite dishes had always been the smoked fish dip and they still have it on the menu, it just doesn’t taste the same it used to have a smooth and creamy texture and now it has a little bit more of a coleslaw texture than it used to, they serve it with tortilla chips when they used to serve it with saltine crackers. That being said, it’s so was a pretty good snack. We also snacked on the seared tuna, which was really good. Our daughter had the she-crab soup, which had a good flavor and texture. We had the onion rings, our server said they were lightly battered, but they were heavier than we expected. There was a good selection of beers on the menu too. It has a great view of the marina and the bay.

Excellent place to eat in a relaxed atmosphere. Fast and professional service. I give 3 stars because the extremely dirty restrooms.

Superb views ,lovely food , excellent ,friendly staff . Far less expensive than anywhere in Miami - it is an essential visit when in Coconut Grove - try the Salmon .

I got the fish tacos. They weren't bad. Light on the amount of fish in the taco, but overall filling. I've already finished my dinner and we still haven't gotten our drinks... Service is slow because they seem to be way understaffed. Atmosphere is nice. Outdoor seating (not in the sun). A view of the water and the sailboats.

I like stopping here for happy hour, the place has a very relaxing vibe, live music on weekends and it feels like you are in an tropical island. I have eaten here but not impressed with the food and prices but the place has a lot of potential.

We arrived at Dinner Key Marina after several days on the water and asked where the closest place to eat was. We were directed to Grove Bay, basically next door. It was a great little place, but definitely rustic. Nothing fancy but a bar and outdoor seating. But the service was super friendly and attentive and our blackened dolphin sandwich was delicious. It was late afternoon and they were still busy, so I think they have an ongoing crowd right through the day. Will go back.

Rumor has it that this local gem will be torn down to give way to "progress", so we go as much as we can before it's gone. The Very Good rating has more to do with the location; since it's more of sports bar fare (burger, chicken wings, fish sandwich, etc) than fine cuisine. I don't know of any other restaurant in south Miami that has a better view of the bay. The service is great. Go there for dinner, for lunch, for drinks. Sometimes they have an awesome band on the weekends.

The menu has changed slightly since is was Scotty's Landing but still a gtreat place for an informal lunch or just a drink

Thi sis a great spot to have a beer, drinks or have a quick bite. The place overlooks the Grove marinas and also has some grass patches where you can relax on the floor. Occasionally there are rock bands that play very nice music. Suitable for families, couples, or singles. The place needs some renovation. These are my three tips: - The bar stools are OK, but the white plastic chairs and tables bring the optic atmosphere down. - 100% of the fabric / tent roof is horrible. - The fans are great, but the sound they make should be avoided. Still, a very nice place.

We visited Viscaya and decided to stop at the Grove Bay Grill for dinner. This restaurant is located right on the water and overlooks a marina. There seemed to be some sort of construction to our left. The food was ok...I had the shrimp tacos, which could have used at least one more shrimp, and my boyfriend had the barbeque chicken sandwich (with generic barbeque sauce), which was below average, great onions rings, though! Cold beer in icy mugs. It has a bar which was featuring live music the evening we were there. The atmosphere is very laid back. Our waiter was refreshingly honest about what to eat....I'm sorry I didn't get his name as he was special....and the restaurant should know what a good employee he is. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed ourselves.

Stumbled here remembering Scotty's from years ago. The service was friendly. Anthony did a good job. The happy hour includes quality drinks. The appetizers (crab cake, dolphin fish fingers and blackened shrimp tacos) were the real thing. Still a nice view of the marina. The ceiling fans kept the place cool. Glad we came.

Wanting to share a seafood meal with my partner and our good friend I remembered eating here when this spot was under different ownership (it was formerly known as Scotty's Landing). Now mind you it's not so easy to find but using the Miami city hall as a reference will help. It's ideally located on the shore in Coconut Grove with views of the bay,Dinner Key and the adjacent marina so definitely worth searching out. The menu though not extensive is basically Florida seafood with enough nonseafood options to please most diners and there's a bar as well for those who want to have a drink or two with their meal. We started with the fried calamari and conch fritters both hit the spot! I had the fish tacos and these were good, my partner chose the fried seafood platter which was nice and our friend the grilled salmon plate,he liked it but I think a few more ounces would make it a better value. For dessert we shared their cheesecake and the key lime pie both were quite satisfying, the key lime pie in particular was quite nice, sweet and tangy as this Florida dessert staple should be! Now overall as I see it the food earned 3 and half to 4 stars what made me give it that 5th star was the bayside location with wonderful views but most of all the friendly service provided by our server Willy, he was attentive without being intrusive and kept checking on us,making sure everything was to our liking. So in a nutshell if you're looking for a casual spot to have some seafood on the water and efficient service with a smile then Grove Bay Grill is your spot!!!
Fish Tacos were great!
My Daughter and I ate here for lunch. She had chicken tacos and I had the fish tacos. My fish was super fresh and my daughter said her chicken tacos were delicious. The waiter we had was great. I thought the prices were very reasonable. I also really enjoyed the gentleman providing the entertainment. He played and sang a great variety of songs and was very good especially the Jimmy Buffet covers! I would definitely eat here again. Great view, great food, great service, great entertainment.
