Decent tacos at a good price

By Carrie W |

Recommend trying the sample platter prior to ordering, it's a good why to test the heat levels. 3-4 tacos per person and the tacos cost around $3. Good place to eat in a pinch but the taste is average.

Can't say enough, this place is great.

By Shawn C |

I was taken here by a friend that is a true Mexican. So far every thing I've tried here has been amazing, though veg friends tell me the vegetarian options were lack luster in taste. For my part I can't name a favorite as I have loved them all so much.

Not the best

By MarieV7247 |

Had the sampler and sangrias. The sangria was really bitter. The taco fillings were ok, the pork was the best, but they weren’t amazing. Maybe the other menu items are better. Service was good and the place was packed.

Same delicious food as Boyle Heights location

By Nancy D |

I confess, I love the authentic feeling of Boyle Heights location. The food in This West Hollywood location is the same and delicious. Counter staff is very friendly. After you order, your food is delivered to your table. I think the sampler provides ample food, but my friends we unsold additional tacos and it turned out to be more food than needed. This location was blaring loud Cuban music so you need to speak up to be heard. Located on Santa Monica Blvd with 2hour metered parking which is $1.50 per hour. None of us (3 of us) liked the pork rind taco in the sampler. We recommend a substitute which they are happy to do for you.

Best tacos in Los Angeles

By Btravel247 |

They make their own tortillas - you can get a 6 taco sampler and its family run. No reason to go anywhere else. And, they need to bottle their mole.

Not very good

By Tomberra |

We were here 204 and wanted to try again. We made a mistake to order the big tacos and awful pork rinds. The other tacos were ok.

Nice and easy and lets eat

By Mark |

Well again I am back here and the service and food is fantastic. What ever you order it is fresh and served with the biggest smiles. Also you don't wait for drinks. The manager really knows how to run a restaurant and the staff showed that.

Best tacos ever

By Glen B |

So glad Guisados came to Weho. We have eaten here numerous times, tried a variety of items, and nothing has been bad. These are not like any other tacos you have had. All are moist, seasoned amazingly, and only make you want more. I recommend the bistek roja and the tinga de pollo. Wash them down with a refreshing glass of melon. I hate beans, and most of the tacos come with beans. They are happy to hold them. This is a must go place.

Perfect place for a quick bite!

By Daniel D |

I had the shrimp and fish tacos, honestly some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. The tacos are decently sized, I only needed two. Very reasonably priced and friendly staff. Quick service.

Holy Tacos

By WorldEater1981 |

A foodie friend recommended this place and we were so happy she did! Guisados is amazing. They have a variety of tacos and a quesadilla, ranging from vegetarian to chicken, fish and meat. Their spicy is hella spicy, so be aware. The staff will probably warn you, too, as they did us, when we wanted to go higher in spice number. They appeal to the hipster foodie movement, which I don't think is a bad thing. You can count on them using a good quality local ingredient and less or no chemicals than a conventional place. But Guisados also has authenticity with their recipes. It's a stop of mine every time I'm in LA.

Memorable meal

By Sean B |

They had literally some of the best tacos I've ever had. If you're in this neighborhood and want delicious tacos this is your place.

Just ok...

By DDDFJD |

Received a good recommendation for Guisados. Can't say we were thrilled, just a little too unusual for us. Did try the fish taco that was white fish & black beans. It was ok but nothing to really brag about. Also tried the Puerco Tamale that was pork - ask for extra spicy sauce on the side. Ordered 1 beer for $5.25. Each Taco & Tamale was $3.25 each - size of portions were small for the money. Most likely, we would not go back.

Taco Tuesday Every Day

By realfoodfan |

OK, not only does Guisados serve up famously scrumptious, out-of-the-box tacos, they do it quick and for a measly $2.15 each. Most are stewed and deliciously juicy, like the Tinga de Pollo, Steak Picado, My favorite so far: the Cochinita Pibil with pickled red onions. Several veggie options too, like black beans, mushroom, Calabacitas, and the popular (but mild) "Quesadilla" with queso panela and a tangy chipotle (barely any heat tho) sour cream. Several locations around town, but the WeHo one is a cheery little storefront with sidewalk tables, nestled between two bars. Perfect to ward off an attack of the the munchies.

Exquisite!

By Frank G |

I love this taco chain. Their flavors are to die for. I recommend the cochinita pibil one, I could have 3 of those just right now. However, any kind is as good as the cochinita pibil. If you are in LA, look for the closest location to you and don't doubt to grab some taquitos from Guisados. You need at least three of those tacos to get satisfied. They are @ $3/taco. The fish ones are more expensive though. They just don't deliver flavors but customer service as well :) Enjoy your tacos!

Very nice

By Andrew |

This was my first lunch visit. Ordering was an interesting experience. I weren’t sure what I was ordering but luckily the server at the counter was very friendly and helped me. I went for a steak picado, tinga and a cochinita pibil. Not sue how to describe it other than open tortilla with fillings on it. It was tricky to eat without making a mess. It was quite tasty, perhaps a little too salty for one of them anyway. It was an interesting experience . I liked it and would definitely go back.

Yummy

By Lori P |

We tried a number of different tacos...chorizo, shrimp, steak and more. Each was delicious! They are all about the size of your hand, but very filling. The fresh corn tortillas perfectly compliment each filling. Most are spiced medium, and are not too hot. But, they are MESSY! Get lots of napkins😊. They have free cups of plain water, flavored waters and beer.

Delicious twist on the taco!

By gmichaelcampbell |

This place has the best sampler platter of tacos in West Hollywood. They make all kinds of meat and veggie Mexican food. The chorizo tacos are amazing along with all the others. The habanero sauce is really really good if you like it hot! Outdoor seating on the boulevard making it a great place to people watch! Very casual and really nice staff.

Super busy and tasty

By Louise W |

The que was quite large and slow, however I could see why. It’s a tiny little place but the food was delicious, Tiny little Tacos, great for a snack if you’re in the area and if you’re a fan of Mexican. They offer veg options also if that’s for you

Great Mexican

By ColtRich |

I really loved this place. Its very inexpensive, yet delicious. The tacos were great and authentic, along with the tamales as well. Friendly staff, great prices, great food. Not much else to say, other than check this place out for a quick cheap bite to eat. I'd definitely come back.

A variety of delicious tacos

By DeborahandAndy |

I enjoyed the unusual sampler of six mini tacos- choice from beef, chicken and pork each of these offers different combinations and preparations. The corn tortillas are very tasty too. My partner had 2 full size tacos: shrimp and vegan (vegetables) and beans. The jamaica drink was refreshing. Place order and pay at the counter and food is delivered to table when ready. Very efficient process. Will be back when in the area.

Good tacos

By Legend |

Fast and good selection of tacos and you can some quite spicy ones if you like. The place is clean and the service is good.

Fan-taco-tastic!

By Brian |

Fantastic hand made tortillas, mind bending toppings (my favorites--Bistek Roja, Chorizo, Chuleta Verde, Mole, Quesadilla), and a sampler plate that will prove to you bite by bite that Guisados will have a location in heaven.....oh, and wash it down with an Armando Palmero....you will love it!!

Awesome Tacos!

By bogwurst |

The 3 of us took the tacos sampler plate where you can mix and match the tacos included. We ordered some beef, some chicken, some beef and mushroom fillings. Everything was good and the ingredients tasted fresh. The sampler plate was well-priced as well. Would definitely go back!

Superb 👌🏼

By Steve P |

After a few drinks in the area we just needed a few snacks to finish the evening off, small tacos but lots of choices and very very reasonably priced compared to some Tex - Mex bland garbage we paid a small fortune for in Santa Barbara a few nights earlier. The owner (I'm assuming it was the owner or manager) was probably the friendliest guy we met in LA too. Don't walk past now 👍🏼

We have been here earlier

By Tomberra |

We have been here earlier years and do like the Mexican sample plate x 2 For each plate we choose: + 1 Steak Picado + 1 Bistek Roja + 1 Mole + 1 Tinga + 1 Chorizo + 1 Hongos All were good but not very spicy. I forgot to ask for Tabasco sauce or equivalent. We will be back

Delicious tacos, and great service

By Tina K |

Great variety of taco flavors and textures. I'd been in town several days and hit many 'famous' spots that were mediocre at best. I told my cousin I didn't care where I went as long as it was good, and this fit the bill to a tee. Went on a Thursday for lunch, there was plenty of seating, the service was quick and I was very pleased. I want one in my town:)

Great Tacos!

By barbaraandfamily |

Guisado’s has great tasty tacos and tamales! We had the sampler and it was terrific. Two of us shared the 6 mini tacos and a tamale. Was enough for two small appetites! Drinks are great and the tacos tasty! Highly recommend if you like spicy tasty street tacos. The line was long but it went very quickly. Great service too!

Great Tacos.

By Jesse J |

I asked the cashier for his favorite taco and I ordered 3 of em. Very good, good price DOPE TORTILLAS. Long line when I got there but was still fast service.

Nice tacos, friendly staff

By sfcyclistwriter |

Nice tacos with friendly staff. I tried the sampler platter, which was good, though I could have eaten more. I didn't love the sangria; I wish I'd chosen an aqua fresca instead.

taco incredible

By SCstevengStockholm |

Wow, this was great. We went to five Mexican restaurants in Santa Monica over 3 days that were all just OK, not worth going back. On the way home we went way out of our way to Guisados on a recommendation. I wouldn't write a review if it wasn't top notch. I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places over the last 30 years. This is in top five. It starts off looking like simple old fashioned 4 inch tortilla topped with meat. Nothing special, I've had what people said is the best like this and they are boring. This is not boring. We tried 3 different ones, and all were great. This is worth going out of your way. steve

High Quality Tacos with Incredible Flavors

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

I was in the mood for some late-night tacos and spotted this place on Santa Monica Boulevard. Incredibly delicious upscale yet authentic street tacos with wonderful flavors. Not inexpensive but the quality justifies the price. The steak picado taco was particularly amazing. You can order To Go or can try to find a table inside or out on the patio in front. It was a busy area on a Saturday night but not much of a wait to order a couple tacos to go.

Guisados In West Hollywood!!!

By rtwgirldotcom |

I'm so thrilled there's a good place for tacos in West Hollywood. Guisados is my favorite place and now I don't have to drive to DTLA, Boyle Heights or Echo Park. Homemade tortillas and braised meats. It's seriously the best! I love ordering their sampler and a horchata. Guisados taco game is strong!

Terrific Tacos!

By June S |

Tiny place that packs a huge punch with their delicious selection of unique tacos on homemade corn tortillas! Do not expect a typical fried tortilla with ground beef. My favorite was the "Pescado" - grilled white fish topped with black beans, tomatoes, cabbage, cream avocado sauce and chile arbol. The six-tiny-taco combo was also a hit. Reasonably priced for individual tacos at $2.95 - $3.25. Limited seating inside with additional tables outside. Very casual. Wish it was closer than 60 minutes away.

Incredible Tacos in the heart of WEHO

By MesBeauxVoyages |

The best of East LA cuisine now in Weho! Yummy! I used to have the "sampler" (6 mini tacos assortment... the mole is great!) but recently tried the shrimp and fish tacos which are both outstanding. The hot pepper taco is the spiciest thing I have ever water. They make a great horchata with expresso. A must try and they open really late on Friday and Saturday. ¡Que Rico!

Great tasty tacos

By WebbDavid |

Went for a quick bite. Delicious soft tacos. Some spicy some not. Could come back. Try their sampler with 6 different mini tacos.

Sensational!

By Kelly F |

We got the taco sampler. An absolute steal for $7. The tortilla is homemade. Chewy and corny. Just like Mexico City. There was a variety of filings. Mole, pork, peppers. Each one was beautifully garnished and presented. Flavored blew me away. Sensational food, very thoughtful prepped. Highly recommend.

Best tacos of Mexican guisados (stews) I've tried in LA

By MrAlexC |

In order to appreciate this restaurant fully, one has to understand that tacos are extremely varied in Mexico. They vary from region to region in preparation, size and ingredients. This restaurant specializes mostly in traditional Mexican stews that are eaten in taco form. These are usually eaten in homes rather than in the street and are quite different than all the other tacos that you can usually find in other places in LA, such as pastor, asada and other simpler versions. So, if you are interested in trying this different tradition of taco recipes, this place is exceptional. It does meet all the truly authentic flavors. Must try their quesadilla with chorizo, the cochinita, the chicharron in green salsa, and all their vegetarian recipes. I was very happy to have found such a place and highly recommend it.

Great breakfast tacos!

By Ken K |

I've been here for every meal except breakfast in the past - the breakfast tacos here totally rock. Excellent, friendly service, too!

Best Tacos Ever!!

By Razorback482 |

I ate the Cochinita Pibil taco which you can get a level 1-10 on spicy scale. I got the 10, very hot, but wonderful. Also got the Tinga de Pollo taco. Went back and got seconds of each. To drink -Armando Palmero: 2/3 Limon, 1/3 Jamaica (hibiscus tea). 3 locations in LA area. I would travel out of my way to go here again!

Hole in the Wall Mexican

By Michelle G R |

The quesedilla with Chorizo is a must try. The in horchata is also delicious. Great place when you need a quick bite.

Amazing tacos

By Jon L |

We had the taco sampler plate and it was amazing. Staff were super friendly and recommended the plate to try a sample of each taco. Excellent concept and execution. Bring Guisado's to Canada!

Cheap and great tacos

By Ben_RC2013 |

Finding real Mexican tacos in LA is harder than you think, most of the time you'll have this weird hard shells, or wheat tortillas with plenty of salad, taco bell style, eww. But at guisados, you'll really feel like in Mexico: wide choice of Mexican beers, real corn tortillas and plenty of different tacos, amongst whom fish tacos and cochinita pibil, great service to boot. A must in West Hollywood

Great food and service!

By avocado_aficionado |

Ate here a few months ago and still remember the great food and service! I especially enjoyed the chorizo taco; the tortillas were delicious too. I ordered 3 and had extra meat left over and was kindly offered extra tortillas. The staff were extremely friendly and answered any questions and gave great recommendations. Delicious food and great prices!

Amazing Tacos

By Philip R |

Small counter service street food style restaurant on Santa Monica Blvd not long open. Menu is almost entirely small tacos - all freshly cooked with fresh ingredients - seafood tacos are particularly tasty but it's all good. Although small they are generously filled so 2 tacos are filling and 3 are an absolute feast. Also great fresh drinks including a delicious cantaloupe water. The staff were all very friendly and helpful including the server covering the floor. Fantastic fresh food - well worth a visit if you're in West Hollywood.

Delicious tacos!!!!!!!

By JANVISAR |

Wow!!! Tacos at Guisados are great!!! They have available tinga, asada, chcharrón... OMGosh all of them are good. My favorite was the fish taco. Their agua de horchata is delicious, so far one of the best I ever tried. Service is efficient and the team is very friendly. Highly recommend stop while visiting WeHo!!!!

Wonderful spot!

By Zach84Jake62 |

We had been to another Guisados the night before and wanted to take my husband there. Had the fish, shrimp, mushroom and squash tacos. All delicious and very fresh. Did not love the sangria. Place is small and doesn't have much ambiance but the food is great and fast.

Authentic tacos only here

By Khoi N |

Great authentic Mexican spot. They have sample taco sampler platters. We ordered 2 taco platters. We loved the steak and the chicharron and had to order more. The platters do feature mini tacos so expect to order more if your party eats a lot. The cold brew horchata is delicious and packs a strong coffee punch. The staff here is really friendly and I loved the flavors. Prices are inexpensive and you get that authentic Mexican taste. This is the spot to go during the day for some bomb tacos!

Best tamale ever

By emirati_nomad |

Hands down the best tamale I tried but I wasn’t big fan of the tacos I ordered. The Jamaica hibiscus tea was great. I’ll for sure come back just for the cheese jalapeño tamale.

Omg this place is good

By Becky N |

Great variety, great taste and great price. The staff are super friendly too! Definitely get the horchata drink to go with your meal!

Tacos, Tamales, Horchatas, oh my!!

By cleve M |

The best spot to get authentic Mexican tacos for a great price! Not only are the tortillas handmade, but the tamales are Beyond any that ever had. I'm not a big fan of chicken molee but it was the best chicken I have ever tasted! The best part about it is that we had a couple of vegans with us, and they had multiple vegan options that blew my mind! Like the black bean and cheese taco...... delicious!

Tacos at their Very Best! 🌮🌮🌮

By David N |

Guisados offers a wide variety of tacos with amazing meats and very fresh tortillas. I recommend getting a combo of different options. This time I chose the Steak Picado, Mole Poblano, and Tinge de Pollo, with the mole being by favorite. The tacos are $4.25 each and worth the price, because of the fresh ingredients and awesome flavors. I decided on a beer this night, but they also offer a nice selection of Agua Fescas. The Horchata is great, even if a little rich. Enjoy some tasty tacos at an outside table on a warm summer's evening while watching the world go by. A very L.A. experience!

Flavours are incredibly good.

By Brodie P |

Don’t be deterred from the “take away” vibes ! This Mexican is THE BEST! Yes the seating and environment is average but just come for the tacos get the OG sampler

Street Tacos in Westhollywood

By Byron R |

Nothing fancy just good food at a reasonable price. I tried the taco sampler. I enjoyed an opportunity to try several different tastes. All were tasty and well spiced. Everything homemade. Also shared a cheese tamale which was also tasty. I expect that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you are sensitive to "hot" ask about levels of spice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. There is both inside and outside seating.

Favorite Tacos in LA

By WorldEater1981 |

I like to try new things so I keep trying other taquerias but I always come back to Guisados. Nothing can beat them! They are delicious and consistent, using good ingredients and their homemade tortillas are fantastic . Just the way a taco should be. My favorites are: Cochinita Pibil (spice level 1 is all I can take) tinga de pollo, Camarones and the chorizo quesadillas. They're one of the things I kiss the most about LA when I'm not here.

Taco sampler. Get it.

By alexisrachelletx |

Great little local taco chain in Los Angeles. My friend and I were visiting LA for a long weekend, and Guisados was our first stop - after waiting for our rental car for an hour, we were hungry for tacos! As Texas girls, we love our tacos. Guisados offers a taco sampler - six mini tacos! I tried the steak picado, chicken mole poblano, tinga de pollo, cochinita pibil, hongos con cilantro, and frijoles con queso. All of the tacos are served on handmade tortillas! And they were all great. Seriously. I would order the sampler again right now and get the same tacos. Great braised meats and veggie, great tortillas, decent price (for LA). If I'm in LA again, I'd have no problem returning to Guisados for more tacos (although I'd probably choose one of their other locations, because PARKING IN WEST HOLLYWOOD!!!), and I'm usually a person that's very reluctant to try the same restaurant twice when I'm visiting a city I don't live in! But Guisados was that good! Grrrrr now I want tacos.

Interesting taco joint

By Mandy007 |

We stopped here on a Thursday evening. The menu is small with tamales, and tacos being the mainstays. We had the shrimp tacos and the sampler which included 2 chicken, some beef, a pork and we ordered the cheese quesadilla as well. We were still hungry as the tacos are quite tiny and ordered the tamale. Some of us liked the flavors and texture of the home made tortillas and some of us didn’t like it. The food was mostly spicy and too much so for one daughter. The texture of the tamale also was different with a very strong corn base. However two of our eaters said that the shrimp tacos were the best they have ever had and would return just for those tacos! Prices are not high so it is worth a stop if you want to try something you haven’t had anywhere else. I can safely say that the flavors are original and unique and you may find yourself having a favorite that you will come back for. Note that there is no table service here - you line up and order and they bring the plates to your table.

Delicious What A Find

By Jon Simmons |

These are delicious tacos. Street tacos in a restaurant. A nice variety of taste sensations. Some spicy if that's your thing. All really, really good. A great addition for this neighborhood. I will make this a regular place for me. Fresh home made tortillas. Don't miss this place.

Fresh homemade tortillas

By johco |

By Norberto |

Great place to eat ! Very authentic delicious tacos made like home (Mexico) Ernesto was fregon ! Great service! Fast courteous ! Service with a smile and great attitude ! I am glad I stop here !! They have a sampler of 6 mini tacos but I went for the regular size tacos ! Be careful ! Two-three are enough ! For a full dinner !

Good place to eat after club

By Isntshealovely1 |

I stopped here after I went to Vanderpumps restaurant/bar and it was perfect to cap the night off. Enjoyed the shrimp camarones the best b/c it was spicy.

Nothing special.

By Waterloonie |

My wife and I ordered three tacos each. Very underwhelming taste. Service was fine though. Unlikely to return.
