This is a regular stop whenever we are in Austin; the lamb over rice is especially good (sometimes a bit on the salty side). The combination platter is also worth trying :)

I had a mixed something or other on rice and shredded lettuce, with hot sauce. Had a ridiculously large and ridiculously cheap side of fries with it that i could not finish. It all had a really good taste and was well presented, despite being in a to-go box! As another reviewer said, parking isn't easy but it's a very short walk from the campus so if you're there already your sorted.

This restaurant is near Texas University area and popular with students and especially Indian vegetarians. The Veg Falafal bowl is value for money. Around $ 9 we could not finish in one go. The restaurant has basic sitting arrangements both inside and 4 tables outside. Loved it. Mukul Shukla Ahmadabad, India.

The Falafels here are tasty and fresh. The pita bread is fluffy and really holds up well with the big portion of food. A little spicy, but definitely done with just the right amount. Parking is very limited.

The food is great and is very popular. It is usually very busy place with UT students, They have expanded their seating area. The food is different from other Mediterranean restaurants.

We had flafel plate and lamb, the food was good, the pricing was fair and the service was acceptable, but the area did not look clean at all and it was a little bit discouraging to sit in there and eat. I gave 5-star with the hope the owners take this seriously and either renovate and make a better policy of keeping the area super clean

I wanted a quick dinner and put in an online order tonight for the gyro wrap at Halal Brothers on Braker lane. Great website for online orders! My food was ready and waiting when I arrived and was fresh and hot. Wrap size was ample and very tasty. The red hot sauce is delish but it is SPICY so fair warning. I will definitely be back soon to try other dishes.

Don't be discouraged if it is difficult finding a parking space. The restaurant is near UT Austin campus and easily accessible while strolling in the area. They have another location in North Austin though we did not try it. What makes this restaurant stand out is how well it is managed. The owner are ever present and supervise every aspect with care. The food is always fresh, cooked to perfection and very tasty. The prices are fair and the portions are large, fit for hungry students. We have gone back often even though we live about 45 miles away. Yep, it is that good. Another bonus is that the owners are very accommodating if you have a specific request. Every dish we have tried turned out excellent. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. Cheers.

Went to the Halal Bros on Colorado between 6th and 7th on a Thursday night. Short wait, awesome hot chicken and falafel on rice, big bottle of hot sauce. What could be better? Maybe a second helping... It kicked NYCs rear.

This place does not deserve the rating it has for restaurants in Austin. It is dirty, unkempt and the food is no better than several other middle eastern restaurants. It probably suits the college students fine being on the UT campus but definitely not a top 15% restaurant.

Very well prepared and the food is just like 53rd and 6th in nyc. Clean place and cheap. Always come here, everytime im in austin.

The food was very tasty. The hot sauce really is hot! However the service leaves something to be desired. At 12:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday they were out of french fries. When we got our order home we found that although I asked for the sauce on the side twice for one of our sandwiches, they didn't give it to me. They just left it off the sandwich. Also. The hummus is only came with one piece of Pita bread.

Insanely great food. We eat there all the time. The kafta kaboo wrap is a must! Their humus is the best in town. If you're in Austin, eat here.

Cons: the place is very easy to miss. It's a small shop on the side of the road with parking for about 5 cars. It took about 20 minutes for our to go order to be ready (they weren't very busy when we came in.) They partially messed up our order. Pros: Cheap, friendly, fantastic flavor. We ordered the combination over rice plate, 2 chicken shawarma sandwiches, 2 falaffel sandwiches, and I ordered a chicken shawerma plate and added lamb shawerma (for an extra $3.50.) The falaffel was delicious, the chicken shawarma was also delicious, and the combination was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. The rice, oh my god, it has so much flavor. I've never had rice that has this much flavor. The only real issue I had was the dish with extra meat. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate and added lamb, but what I got instead was a beef shawarma over rice and a chicken and beef shawarma over rice. I have no idea why that is, and I was disappointed because I really wanted to try the lamb. I also didn't really like the beef shawerma. It tasted good, but it was somewhat dry and tough. The sauce was good, but it tasted like ranch to me. I will ABSOLUTELY be back here when I visit Austin again. Oh and for those who were wondering, the meal came out to be $40. We had a couple orders that were left untouchd because we were so full.

I’m vegan and asked if their pita was vegan. The manager Ahmed was so kind, he brought out the bags of pita to show me the ingredients and mentioned the white sauce had eggs. He didn’t catch the kitchen staff in time to stop them from putting the sauce on so he brought us a complimentary vegan pita and extra hummus while they remade my falafel without the white sauce. It’s my FAVORITE falafel in town, and the staff really went out of their way to make sure my meal was great.

Good food-- delicious and healthy! good price as well! I got the combination plate over rice- gyro and chicken - I really liked it. My husband got the chicken plate over rice and he liked it too! We will come back again to Halal Bros.

We loved the food here. We did some take out on a recent visit to austin and enjoyed every bite in our hotel room - from the mezza plate to the falafel. The garlic was amazing (but as with any garlic dishes you will taste it for a while).

I tried for very first time Arabic food and the experience is so amazing fully satisfied with food, serivce snd environment keep the good work up guys

Great Middle Eastern food-- both the combos and wraps are phenomenal. The food definitely fills you up and it is seasoned beautifully. I recommend the chicken shawarma

We had the Lamb Kebab and Lamb Shwarma. Both were very flavorful and so was the saffron rice. Good value! We had this for carry out, and meal was ready on time.

We went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was very busy and there was quite a line of people. The staff are extremely friendly. The food was worth waiting for. I'm vegetarian and got the falafel wrap. My boyfriend got a plate. We also got fries and couldn't finish it as we were so full. There were lots of kids there and it's quite noisy. We will definitely be back because the food is great!

We drove by The Halal Bros in Austin and decided to stop for a quick lunch. The service was good and fast. The food was OK for a Mediterranean fast food place. Although I am used to spicy food, it was really hot. We had Falafel and Shawarma that were OK. The Hummus was good. Definitely a nice quick lunch if you like Mediterranean food.

Ambience: this place is a food truck, so the ambience you get is that of a parking lot flanked by a huge wall painting of Willy Nelson. Of course, the noise from 6th Street can still be heard while you're taking a break at this restaurant for a quick meal. Food: chicken and lamb Curry rice are the standard offering. The rice itself is delicious, and goes famously with the salsa sauce, lettuce leaves and meat of choice. Falafels are the other thing that's warm, fresh and delicious to eat.

I was not sure what to expect when I was first told about Halal Bros and their Chicken and Rice. Sounded simple enough. I wasn't really expecting anything that would blow me away. I was however blown away. They really know how to make some really good food. I absolutely recommend getting lots of the White sauce and just a little bit of the red on the side. The red sauce is extremely spicy, but if that is your thing then go all out.

We have been here often on our visits to Austin. The food is excellent. The seating can be problematic especially for a large group. The parking is a major issue. Don't ever park in In-N-Out and then go eat at Halal Bros. My friend's car got towed and he had to go some 25 minutes in another car to get his car back and he had to pay $190 fine. There are signs that warn about this issue but some people don't pay adequate attention.

The interior is spare and bright--typical strip mall--and it's counter service--order and pick up. Portions on the rice plates are generous, fresh, ans well thought out, with fresh salad and yummy sausces complementing superb persian-style rice. Very affordable, delicious, and well worth the money. Will definietly be back.

Can I give them 5+ stars? I had the absolute best falafel sandwich there. The restrooms are spotless and immaculately clean. My family also loved the halal beef shawarma over rice. We definitely will be back!

I've never eaten in the restaurant, but their take out service is fantastic. Just order online or over the phone, and you're food is ready in about 15 minutes. Food is great, with just the right amount of spices and seasonings. The portion is more than enough for one person, and even two can share. Their basmati rice is worth eating alone, and when combined with the tender, perfectly seasoned chicken, makes for quite a unique dish. Make sure to get some raita if you cannot handle spice well!

I was not into this "kind" of food and flavors until I visited this restaurant. The food is terrific, can be a little bit spicy to someone not used, but the taste is fantastic. Now I'm struggling to find a place similar in my new city.

Food was good, parking was a pain. Service was as expected. A very casual and popular spot among students, unanimously loved.

We visited and at the Halal Brothers and found this laid-back atmosphere seem to cater to the college crowd. We found the service was excellent the food was delicious and very satisfying. I have the lamb shawerma wrap with Gyro and it was very filling with the perfect amount of flavor. Parking is tight other than that parking is tight, but that's anywhere in Austin.

Halal bros keeps it simple, but gets it right every time - their marinations & sauces are to die for! I've had mostly all their dishes - be it the warp or rice, accompanied with chicken, lamb or falafel! The portions are massive (we're in TX, remember!?), and the food is always made fresh to order! The only letdown (at times) is their kebabs - which taste dry & tough at times.

My son, who is in a nearby fraternity, took me here. He and his buddies love the place. The food is good. The restaurant is clean. Parking is sparse to non-existent. The food is cheap. The portions are very large. I got a gyro meat/kafta meat plate over rice. It was great. We also ordered sides of hummus and falafel. Both very good. My wife got a falafel wrap which was quite good. Both sons got lamb over rice. Overall, a very good college type restaurant with good quality food. If you want something substantial and inexpensive that's not Mexican or hamburgers, this is a great spot. Very college-town feel.

We had take out twice. Their Gyro sandwiches, and Kofta Kebabs were very tasty. Good Basmati rice on the side. The Falafel was also very tasty. Good food at a reasonable price in Austin. If you want to stay home and relax with a quick bite, go for this.

The food here is terrific, really fresh. We tried the Schwarma (chicken and beef), which comes with a side salad. We ordered 3, for 3 hungry people, and had a whole meal left over. We're going to order again (and we want the leftovers!). Got it delivered (free) through Amazon Prime.

This is a typical campus joint where the seating is just wooden tables with plastic chairs but the food is priced reasonable and is tasty. The shawarmas with a variety of meat choices are spiced delicately with the right amount of seasoning. You have a choice of a meat in a wrap or over a bed of rice. Both the varieties were really delicious and filling - the rice was particularly flavourful. A combination of chicken and gyro meats was a good choice. They cater to take out orders which seem to be popular with the student community.

The restaraunt is conveniently located around the campus. Even though they have parking in front but its scarce. Super friendly stuff. Efficient service. DELICIOUS food. Highly recommended.

Some nice young people running the restaurant, but the place needs to be cleaned. Tables were dirty and sticky. The cooks were cooking without hair nets and gloves. The food is good.

The food would have been better, if the hot sauce was on the side in a container instead of in the food. Also, only one pita was a disappoint for the amount of food brought.

Tons of restaurants claim to sell shawarma but this is the real deal. Don’t like the raw student cafeteria ambiance? Get takeout.

wonderful food and people... great service. Parking is a big issue. However, manageable. downtown, UT area so parking is bad!!!!!

Very super food. However, parking is an issue. I heard the burger king went out of business. Yes, with Halal bros on side, who would eat burger king!
Great Gyros
The place is small and authentic right down the road from pluckers. The gyros are the best items on the menu.
