We were 6 adults, celebrating my son's birthday and looking forward this culinary experience: a vegan 5 course meal, a fixed menu served to the entire restaurant that changes every 3 weeks depending upon produce availability... Well, I am sad to say that the experience did not live up to our expectations. The food was ok, not outstanding, the portions were rather small. My son, 22, was still hungry after the first 4 courses (before the dessert)... The meal was not as innovative and inspired as we could expect and did not match the bill that we paid. The parsnip soup was very good. The squash and apple salad was tasteless. The sweet cake potato was ok, overcooked, too dry. The Tamale (closer to a thick cannelloni) and the main course, was ok, another one would have made it closer to the size of a main course. The dessert, a heavy chocolate torte with no subtlety, was a disappointing use of Theo Chocolates. I took a bite and was done. And despite the assurance of the person who described the menu, the "whipped cream" did taste Garbanzo bean juice (aqua fava). I am not sure we will be back and it is too bad, we were looking forward to it!

... the flavor profile, that is. This is the most confused meal with the worst wine pairing and last efficient serving approach I have had. Ever. All guests must be seated before any food can come out. For all guests, at the same time. Seems noble, except what I interpret as the main (more below) came out cold. The first course (according to the chef, two courses, but if on one plate it is ONE course) was a boring pumpkin creme (a little coconut cream would have been so good...) and a Waldorffesque salad with foraged veg. Passable. The second course, already, made little sense. It was bland and the flavors just did not go with each other. The third course – a stroll through the woods – was cold and confused. Basically, a stroll late at night with cold rain and nowhere to hide. Just a miserable experience. I had hopes for the dessert, but the cookie was dry and the mouse (drum roll!) bland. I have had vegan food many times before: From the fine extreme (e.g., Candle 79 in NYC) to Pepper Tree (Houston) or Chuh Minh Deli (Seattle). All these places have tickled amazing textures and flavors out of a meatless meal. So why can't the self-proclaimed pope of vegan do the same? The whole spiel about being carbon neutral and working with local farmers is so shallow that it hurts. @Harvest Beat, go eat at Chuh Minh and you will understand what authentic in all aspects means. Your coffee is hand carried in coffee jars to reduce the carbon footprint? Please... This is just to make you feel better. I should have known better when my meat-loving Texas co-worker recommended this place... Never going back. Ever.

I am not a vegan, but I found the food at Harvest Beat to be interesting and delicious. The menu rotates every three weeks. It is fixed price, coupled with either a wine pairing for each of the five courses or a non-alcoholic pairing. The setting is nice, and the service is quite good. There is one seating each night. In good weather, try to arrive a few minutes early and get a table outside. It is delightful.

Get ready for a tremendous experience! I am not vegan & have not eaten at a full vegan restaurant before. I was blown away at every turn. The idea of not having to pick your meal, and rolling with the full five courses they offer is such a cool change of pace. We were out visiting my cousin and he took us here to end our trip. He is vegan, my aunt & I are not and we all loved it equally. The kitchen is open, so you can go back & talk to the chefs. The chef introduces the menu to the whole restaurant in a descriptive way. Great setup& builds some anticipation while informing you not only what we will eat, but where they sourced it from. I cannot say I remember ever having such a flavor adventure. Everything flowed together perfectly, and everything was absolutely delicious… I was shocked how hearty the meal was, each course left you feeling satisfied while ready for the next! The desert…. CRAZY GOOD!!! easily one of the best deserts I’ve ever had. Will be looking for a similar style place close to home so I can have my wife & daughter experience this as well. Would come back if I’m ever in the area again.

We went there for dinner. They have a five course pre fixed menu with pairing of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Every course was amazing! In fact every single bite was delicious! I would go there again, if I would ever visit Seattle. We tried non alcoholic beverage pairing and it was an outrageously good experience. Their choices of kombucha and other beverages were delicious.

Cute restaurant in Seattle. Everything is set Five course VEGAN/Vegetarian meals which were so delicious. Not only is their food great but the vibe here is so zen/relaxing, I left with a happy tummy and I felt refreshed as if I came out of a yoga class or the four seasons spa. Twas an amazing, unique experience, and I can’t wait till we’re back in Seattle cause I’ll definitely be back! Very much recommended even if you’re not a vegetarian person. Thank you so much Harvest Beat.

Absolutely wonderful experience! It's the perfect fine dining experience for vegans and vegetarians (and everyone else but there are other fine dining options for you guys:)). Yes, the concept is similar to Herbfarm, but for a fraction of the price the experience is still remarkable. I think the chef and other people who work here are really passionate about their work and what it stands for. Local/organic/foraged/homegrown, they stay true to these concepts and the food and service speaks volumes in their favor. It was my husband's birthday and they made him feel so special. Even the chef came over to the table to wish him. I would say that this is special occasion dining, but truly worth it if its an occasion worth indulging. I also think the summer months would offer a much better variety of flavors and there are a plethora of ingredients to pick from. I am not going to describe the food, but all 5 courses were fantastic and the creativity behind the menu was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

To start off with, this is NOT an inexpensive meal. In fact it's not a moderately priced dinner. Not even an expensive dinner. This is a hugely expensive, need a trust fund type dinner. Is it worth eating only veggies for a couple of hundred for a couple? For us the answer was yes. Granted, we are Omnivores and sometimes Carnivores, but still this was one of the best meals we have had. Service was top notch! Check was personable and friendly. Quantity of food was "just enough". We didn't leave needing to loosen our belts a few notches, but also didn't leave needing to stop at McDonalds to get full. One caveat. If you reserve using OpenTable, they do NOT warn you if the date you wanted is full, it just automatically picks the next available date. I had reserved Valentines day, but didn't realize OpenTable set it up for the following week because there were no openings. Will we be back? Heck yes! After filling back up the savings account of course.

First thing I'll say is I ate here for the first time about a year ago and thought it was excellent. Also, I am not a vegetarian or vegan. I returned recently for my wife's birthday (she is vegetarian) and we were both so utterly disappointed. To start, the restaurant was about 60 degrees inside. At least half of the guests (the restaurant was full) ended up wearing their winter coats to stay warm. There were a couple of 1500 Watt small space heaters scattered about - I couldn't tell if they were actually on but there was basically no heat. The servers described the upcoming dishes (everyone eats the same thing at the same time) in very basic terms and said that as the menu had just changed a few days earlier, they still weren't familiar with it. There was no exciting flavor at all to any of the dishes and none of them were memorable. I didn't once think "wow, I wonder how I can recreate this at home". The first 2 hot dishes were pretty much room temperature including what should have been a hot soup. The 'main' course was a pot pie and it was so hot it needed time to cool down before you could safely eat it. Dinner includes paired wines. There was however no description at all about the wines or the pairing. The wines were all fine (Sparkman) but certainly nothing special. Dinner for 3 with tax and standard gratuity came to $530 which I would say is shocking for what you get. I eat out about 4 nights a week and am very comfortable and pleased with casual restaurants that charge $15 to $50 per person as well as places that charge $200 or more per person. The experience at Harvest Beat this time was very disappointing and very over priced.

This was one of the best dining experiences we have had, the food was great and the love put into the meal was unmatched. The challenge we had was we are not strictly vegan and some of the menu was not catered to our taste buds i.e. there were too many mushrooms in two of the dishes for our liking. While I think the price is worth the food quality and preparation, it's not if you don't love all the dishes.

This is a very special place! The overall concept is so amazing. You make reservations because dinner is only at one specific time every night for a specific number of people. This way they reduce their food waste. You get a vegan coursed meal based off of what the local farmers and forgers provide. The menu changes every three weeks (with the micro seasons) so every time you go it will be a guaranteed new experience. The welcoming atmosphere is full of love, laughter and amazing smells. Chef Joe works in an open kitchen where you can watch/chat with him and ask him questions about your meal. He begins the night by ringing a gong and explaining to everyone the menu and which farmers they got their ingredients it’s from. And then you get the food- oh wow!!!! I’m not vegan but I absolutely love every plate put in front of me. You will taste things you’ve never tasted before! And leave very satisfied! Can’t recommend this place enough! Support this restaurant and what they believe in!

The food is outstanding! Not a cheap meal, but a fantastic option for a celebration or special treat. Even foods I don’t usually like taste great when prepared here. Everything is locally sourced and foraged, and the menu switches every three weeks to cater for micro seasons.

Dining at Harvest Beat is a wonderful and unique experience! Everyone is seated at 7pm and the meal begins with the ringing of a gong and a gratitude speech. This place is crunchy, even for Seattle. The five course menu is amazing (it changes every 3 weeks) and will please even the meat eaters in the room. We reserve going to Harvest Beat for very special occasions because of the price, but it is well worth it.

Harvest Beat is a miracle of freshness, creativity, and flavor. They create a new menu using local foods (some wild harvested) every three weeks. Each one is stunning in both deliciousness and presentation. It's a dining experience you really don't want to miss - you'd be super smart if you came back for every menu!

Everyone MUST go here! Do not think you have to be vegetarian or vegan to love their dinner. They create exquisite food! I'm quite addicted to Harvest Beat. Many people think this is a special occasion restaurant (which it is), but I try to go every time they change the menu because I deserve it! :-) Seriously, it is a culinary experience to eat here. The presentation is beautiful and the food is indescribably delicious!

This is a restaurant providing great plant based food. Included with the set dinner price of $135 is drink pairing- either non alcoholic or alcoholic. The drinks are interesting & tasty concoctions. The fixed 5 course meal includes soups, salads, an entree, and desert. It is very filling. The food is sources from local farmers & is prepared in front of your eyes. There is a single seating time of 7pm, after which doors are closed. You will finish around 9pm. Want good healthy food, a restaurant with a homely ambiance, and a great plant based meal, come here. Parking is on the local streets. Make a reservation.

Being vegan in an unfamiliar city can often pose problems trying to find somewhere to dine. We hit the jackpot with finding Harvest Beat. Great restaurant with a difference. The chefs serve a 5 course set menu which changes every 3 weeks. You can pair the courses with either wine or organic juices. The ingredients are locally sourced either foraged from the wild or harvested and diners are introduced to a variety of previously little known plants. Each course offered is a taste delight. The waiters are friendly and efficient and have time for a welcome chat. The chef also visits tables individually after the last course is served. One feels like part of a larger family appreciating the finer foods on earth.

We took our daughter here for her first time, and she said she absolutely loved it. The five course set menu was delicious and innovative. We especially liked the crispy cauliflower pizza, which inspired us to try making our own at home, but it did not taste nearly as good as Harvest Beat's. Menu changes monthly, I believe. We also had the non-alcoholic pairing, while my husband had the wine pairing. Be sure and make reservations well ahead of time as they are very popular. Service was excellent.

I went here for my anniversary with my lovely wife, I regret to say that this was a night I wish not to remember. Upon arriving service was slow, even though it wasn’t terribly busy. My wife had a salad and I got the chef special. Everything seemed fine, nothing mind blowing but it was an acceptable meal. Once we got home though we both felt very ill and started getting sick. Needless to say we suspect this was a case of food poisoning. I will not be returning and I inform my peers to do the same.

This is a vegan, multi-course, dining experience not to be missed. Meat eaters - do not shy away, it is an experience that you will enjoy as well. I would recommend sitting "at the bar" - you get to watch the magic happen in the kitchen and chat with the chef as your dinner comes together before your eyes.

This is an exquisite 5 course vegan meal that vegans and non vegans alike find bewitching. Gorgeous plating, excellent service, family/locally owned. Fresh innovative take on local/seasonal ingredients combined in ways one could not anticipate. Prepare to be delighted.

We hosted our Vegan out-of-town guests to Harvest Beat. The food (several courses) was very good, beautifully presented, and ample. The service was excellent. They are open limited days and have one service (7:00 PM) per night so a reservation is required. The only thing that prevented our review from being 5 stars was the over-bearing scent of incense wafting into the dining room from the nearby restroom. Although the first course was beautiful it tasted like the incense. As the evening progressed and the incense eventually burned down, the food got better and better. Request a table upstairs away from the restroom so you can taste and smell the lovely, amazing food.

My husband and I decided we were going to try moving to a vegan life style. One week in and we thought we would try a vegan restaurant. Just an amazing experience. We had the four course tasting menu with wine pairings. Every course was tasty and creative. I think the ice cream was my favorite. I still cannot believe it was vegan. The restaurant was stylish and very cosy. Just a first rate experience.

Vegans only! There are multiple reviews saying this is a great place even if you are not vegan but that is not true. I made a reservation based on those reviews. My husband is a new vegetarian and I wanted to have a special dinner for both of us. He enjoyed the meal( although he felt it was overpriced), I left very hungry. I am not picky about what I eat but this meal satisfied only the vegans. I tried everything but did not enjoy anything but the first course, soup and salad. This menu did not work for me. This is a 5 course meal served in a single seating per night. The chef introduced the menu and the partnership that provided the food. The presentation of the food was beautiful. All the food on the menu I have had before but put together i this way it did not work for me. There were plenty of people that ate everything and I can only assume they were all vegans. Please remember if you decide to eat here it is a vegan restaurant and you should enjoy eating vegan to enjoy it. I would consider another option if bothe diners are not vegan.

Lots of good options for vegans. Some tasty dishes on the menu here such as the Grilled Watermelon Ginger lime leaf and also the Morel Mushrooms stuffed with cumin cashews and cheese.

Jacob and his team blew my wife and I away - and our vegan son. The 5 courses were thoughtfully and passionately explained by Jacob and then the gastronomic journey commenced. Each course topped the next, ingredients shouting out their freshness. Plating was creative and the pace of the meal was ideal. For this carnivore, it ranks as a Top 5 Meal!

A wonderful dining experience of unique and interesting ingredients. Expertly crafted. Loved every bite.

I'm not a vegan, however, I have to tell you that if I could eat like this every night I could be. From the moment we walked in, we were given the royal treatment. Everyone was so attentive, and it was evident that everyone that works there is extremely committed to and passionate about making fabulous food! We did the wine paring and am SO glad we did. The menu changes every three weeks and I have already booked a reservation and am bringing friends. My daughter is allergic to many things including soy and there were more than happy to accommodate here every need.

My cousin took us to Harvest Beat while we were visiting them. Guess they forgot 14 year old boys don't like vegan, strange dishes, no matter how fresh or good! Didn't have the heart to tell my cousin we should go somewhere else since I could see she & her husband were trying to impress us! Also, at $50 per person, I found it a bit expensive. I knew my son would hardly touch the food therefore what a waste of food & money. The chef came out to explain each & every dish & once the food started arriving on our table, it was quite nice. Did not like everything that was put in front of me, but whatever I did like, was fresh & flavorful. I did not eat my ice cream since I was quite full but the family said it was good. Great service, small cozy place, lovely for special occasions or date night. Also good for vegans & vegetarians. My husband being one, quite enjoyed the food, I wouldn't be in a rush to come back! We had to get my son a hamburger from Dick's down the block afterwards. Now that made him very happy!

Perfect place for long conversations and sharing a meal. It was our first visit November, 24 We love the concept of 5 courses menu created for all guests. The same dishes for all at the same time. Beautiful detailed chef presentation in this intimate restaurant with a soul. Lovely Tour to the kitchen.Classy. Organic farm to table ingredients, artistry and creatively. Approximately $70 per person for 3 hours meals and a long conversation around the table. A little disappointment with wine selection. Perfect for our pre-Thanksgiving diner with family!

We came here at the request of our son. None of us are vegans, but we all enjoyed the meal! The non alcoholic pairings are very unique and good. Carrot soup and salad were standouts, but everything was delicious. We came early to pick our table and then walked down the street to Murphy’s Irish pub until it was time for dinner. Our dinner lasted from 7-9:30, but the pacing was not too slow. Great place for a celebration!

The folks that own this place are half of the former owners of Sutra. And although the concept is the same, the execution here is even better than Sutra was. (concept is a multi-course fixed price supper club where everyone eats the same thing at the same time, and it is excellent and interesting food). First- the setting is better. The tables and chairs are almost all regular height (instead of "bistro" height) generally making for a more comfortable seating arrangement. The tables are spaced further apart in a larger space. The open kitchen is large and easy to see, and the back patio is exceptional if the weather permits. The food is better. I'd been to Sutra 4-5 times and always walked away saying "That was interesting but not always good". This time I adored everything I ate. They happily accommodated my "no tomatoes" and my spouses "no grape product" requests, and made alternatives that were great. Instead of tomato soup I got cauliflower soup and instead of a roasted tomato, I got lentils. Some places would have skipped those substitutions and just left off the tomato products. The staff were amazing. Relaxed. Service oriented. My mom and I were going to share the non-alcoholic pairing, and so I thought we'd alternate drinks, but instead they brought us each half a glass. They were there the instant someone dropped a fork or had a funny look at the food. They knew all the ingredients and were very gracious about compliments. The owner/chef gives a talk at the beginning of the meal about what we will be eating. It makes the whole thing feel very personal, like you are eating in his dining room. As vegetarians this will become our special occasion restaurant-- as the price point is high for every day. I will happily return.

Our first visit and we found that absolutely everything about it was an experience to savor. Impassioned Chef, dedicated and friendly support, beautiful plating & presentation that looks like it's right out of a glossy culinary photo, each of the courses a new but related experience. And, the best part ... It was absolutely great food heavy on the delicious side! For omnivores like myself, vegan without apology or a self-satisfied air - just flat out amazing food in a quality setting! Great for a date night or a special night with friends yet still totally casual and very comfortable. Rotating menus every three weeks using locally sourced foods - yep, we'll certainly return to explore the changing seasonal delights!

Harvest Beat is a vegan restaurant that offers a five course meal in one sitting a night. Though none of us are vegans, we have enjoyed wonderful, delicious, and innovative meals at vegan restaurants in other cities and were excited to try this out. We loved having the chef come out and go through the entire menu with all the diners, sharing his commitment to using locally grown or foraged foods as much as possible. Every course was amazing! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience!

Such a fun experience! I have never been to a multi course dinner before, so this was special. The food is plated beautifully and a lot of thought goes into each course. The tables are beautifully set and the ambiance is lovely. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I didn’t enjoy one of the courses at all (luckily it was the 4th course so I was already pretty full). The elixers were a lot of fun as well! Definitely a restaurant I would recommend for healthy, inspired vegan food.

We were totally blown away by every aspect of this five course experience. From the friendliness and attentive staff, to the relaxed setting of the location, to the wonderful flavors of the food and the non alcohol drink parings, Harvest Beat is phenomenal. Using locally sourced fresh ingredients, the menu is set. They have one seating a night for a leisurely dining experience. You can order alcohol or non-alcohol parings for each course or individually. We opted for the non-alcohol paring, and were not disappointed. We cannot recommend Harvest Beat enough. This restaurant is phenomenal.

Set Meal Every 3 weeks they update their menu. The meal is preplanned (5 courses). They can tweak as needed (gluten free, no oil, etc.). Service OMG! So awesome. They are super friendly and personable. Chef Joe is completely approachable (I recommend sitting at the kitchen bar). Food OMG! So awesome. Every bite makes you think "Why doesn't eating out always taste this good?" So creative and nicely plated. Drinks They suggest a pairing with each course (wine flight and juice flight for us non-drinkers). They match up really nicely!

We just ate for the first time at this restaurant. It is rather nondescript on the outside and has no parking of its own, but as we entered, we were very warmly greeted by the staff. The restaurant has a fixed menu at a fixed price with a single seating at 7 PM. The establishment was fully booked on this occasion. When everybody was seated, the chef came out, stood in a relatively central location and explained the evening's menu to everyone. I ordered the wine pairing, which included a different wine with each course. My wife ordered the non-alcoholic pairing, which presented a different home-made elixir with each course. All beverages were tasty. The food was sublime. Portions seemed small, but by the end of the mean, I was elegantly sated. Near the end of the meal, the chef came to our table and asked if we had enjoyed the food. I have been to more than 50 countries and eaten many great meals, but none better than this one at the Harvest Beat. I highly recommend it to any openminded person seeking a wonderful dining experience.

Loved this place! Made a reservation without really knowing what to expect. We are mostly vegetarian so this is a really nice treat even if you are a meat eater! the whole experience is really cool. They seem to have one service per night so the door is closed and everyone dines at the same time. If I did it again though I think I would not do the wine pairing as I was not so excited about the choices they had that particular day. I would do the elixirs which are so good!!!! the elderflower mint was my fave! And order the wine per glass or bottle. This place us a definite must if you are visiting the emerald city! I would recommend without hesitation. Service and FOOD is amazingly good! 4 Thumbs up!

Based on raves from friends we finally had a chance to go, since they secured four hard to score seats at the last moment. As the diners get seated and settled in the chef/owner comes out to explain, in great detail, what you are about to eat. The autumnal menu started out well, with a pumpkin bisque (Course 1) and mixed salad (Course 2) of smoked carrots, apples, raisins and bok choy, which was fresh tasting though a bit confusing with the various flavors, like ginger, in the dressing. The third Course and fourth Course added to the confusion by the addition of so many ingredients that it was difficult to tell then apart. The cashew cheese souffle was not the light airy creation expected and the lemongrass scented baby gold potatoes lost the lemongrass under the weight of the fennel, mushrooms, delicata squash, garlic, chives, etc that was on the same plate. By the fifth Course, the diner has had at least three times the amount of vegetables as is recommended. But the fifth was quite good, finishing with a huckleberry mousse, something never had before, so it and the flourless cookie were relished. The wine pairings were inspired and the waitstaff very attentive.

I'm not vegan and wasn't sure what to expect from this place. The moment you walk in to this establishment you are transformed into a relaxing environment. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff is fantastic. The five course meal was a new culinary journey that my taste buds had never experienced before! I also love that the chef rings the gong and thanks the local producers and goes over every course in detail. I highly recommend this restaurant for a fabulous two hour food experience that will keep you coming back for more. Make a reservation now.

This was just great. Little to say beyond most other very positive reviews. While a bit self-impressed in the local vegan creative vein, it is pretty well deserved. We ate outdoors and split a single wine-pairing. Every course was something between excellent and extraordinary. Only one of the wine pairings was a miss. As noted, only a single 7P seating and a fixed menu. Not to be missed!

My husband (dedicated carnivore) took me here for date night, and it was an event will will likely repeat many times. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen, and that is absolutely the best seat in the house! My husband said it was some of the best food he has had meat or not - high praise, he is notoriously picky. The non-alcoholic beverage pairing was really delightful too.

Call off the search - the best vegan restaurant in the western world (IMO) Seriously, nothing in my vegetarian and then vegan lifetime touches this culinary experience. Sublime. Farm to table, locally sourced and foraged and organic where possible - each one of the 5 (very generous) portions were exquisite in presentation, flavour, colour and taste. Who even knew that this was vegan. There’s only 1 sitting at 7pm (Seattle tends to eat early) and you are personally and attentively welcomed by what feels like a caring and attentive family. The chef (a culinary genius) introduces himself and the story of each course making us feel like we are taking part in something spiritual and special. We are and It works. We sat at the chefs table (highly recommend) watching and talking to the chef and kitchen staff where cooking is clearly a deep love and passion that they generously share. We had the wine paring which I recommend and the 5 course menu, well that surpassed our expectations and beyond - my husband, who’s a cynic (he’s a carnivore) when it comes to vegan said ‘This is my last visit to a vegan restaurant- nothing will match this.’ Having dragged him to vegan/veggie restaurants around the world, think I have to agree. At $150 a head, it’s a steal. Don’t miss out.

AMAZING. My wife and I enjoyed the Chef's tasting menu paired with wines on Friday, November 01st. The venue is warm and welcoming, the place was sold out. Interestingly, everyone is served at the same time, so you get a feel for how those around you are enjoying the same dish. The Chef walks his guests through the entire menu, speaking about where the ingredients were sourced and the inspiration for each. The menu changes every 3 weeks, since they opened 4 years ago, they have not duplicated it. I have to say, this was hands down the best vegan meal I've ever experienced (neither my wife nor I are Vegan). The flavors were incredibly balanced amongst the locally forged ingredients. We both left stuffed and happy, and felt good for not destroying our environment in the process! We thoroughly recommend trying Harvest Beat, you won't be disappointed.

My daughter is a vegetarian so I was looking for a restaurant to have an intimate birthday celebration with 5 of us. Harvest Beat was the perfect choice. Fixed menu and seasonal items, this place is simply amazing. She is the only vegetarian in the group and everyone loved the food. Definitely worth a visit, even if you are not vegan/vegetarian.

We are not vegan or vegetarian in our household and I have to say Harvest Beat is raising vegan and vegetarian fare to high art. Just amazing. The owners Aaron and Jan are literally putting their heart and soul into this restaurant and the meals they create and it shows at every turn. When your dish is brought it is impossible to not pause and appreciate how literally beautiful it is, and then with each dish we were told where it came from and how it was prepared. Talk about honoring your food, it was such a fantastic seque to our first bite. Perfect place to bring out of town guest, they will be impressed with sustainability, caliber, creativity and mindfulness behind each dish. Do not let the images of the photo worthy art infused dishes the throw you off, very laid back restaurant with neighborhood vibe. Just another little gem tucked into a fantastic Seattle neighborhood dishing out unpretentious goodness!

Took a few friends here on a Sunday evening. They had a single seating that night. We really enjoyed this place. The dishes were creative and tasty, making great use of farmed/foraged vegetables. We got the non-alcoholic wine-pairing and it was a great value ($18 for like 4-5 drinks? Extremely reasonable). Ditto the meal itself, which only cost around $55/person for five courses. Only downside is that the speech to introduce the meal was very long (over 10 minutes) and did not provide much more useful info than what is in the menu. But service was friendly and you can tell that everyone is extremely enthusiastic about the restaurant's mission.

I'm vegetarian, but usually I'm not a big fan of pure vegetarian or vegan restaurants - but this place is different. They don't try to come up with a taste of meat or experience unnecessarily with tofu or seitab to get a taste of meat, but just use natural ingredients form local farmer to make the most delicious meals I had in a long time. I've been there with a non-vegetarian - and a meat-lover who was equally impressed! It's a set menu of 5 courses and at the beginning the chef gave a short introduction about all the courses. It was a great evening, friendly atmosphere, super nice staff and - most important - delicious and yummy food. Highly recommended, this is a great place!!!

We were on vacation in the Seattle area, and it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. Genuine service with heart filled vegan food that was delicious! One of the most unique food experiences that we have ever filled with a sense of community and gratitude during our meal. Highly recommend!

Vegan five course dinner and you want miss the animal protein one bit. We had the good luck to sit right in front of the kitchen and talk to the chef and his helpers. Great connections with local growers and foragers. Everyone gets the same dishes at more or less the same time. All of ours were winners. Menu changes every three weeks with the season.

Agree with all of the excellent reviews. Great food and service. Appreciate their commitment to the local, sustainable food and creating a fabulous vegan dining experience. Bonus: We got their 15 minutes early and sat at the kitchen counter. Chef and his assistants were friendly and fun to watch.

Harvest Beat is off the "beaten path" relative to dining experiences. They offer one menu, although they will customize their offerings if notified in advance, which contains locally grown, organic foods. The meal consists of 5 courses, which are served once the entire night. Yes, this is not a conveyor-type restaurant. The patrons are seated and served simultaneously. Just once the entire evening. Reservations are required and we've missed out several times due to last minute attempts for reservations. The food is great and I wish the courses were a bit larger. You get one great tasting course, then it's on to another.

My daughter is vegetarian and I wanted to treat her to a special meal during our trip to Seattle. We opted for the drink pairings offering which had wonderful non alcoholic elixirs for my daughter to enjoy - this may have been her favorite part actually. The owner and staff are passionate about what they do and it really shows in the warmth and excitement they convey to patrons. All diners have a chat/meeting together with the chef before the meal to discuss all the details and sources, etc. It is a very unique experience! All of our plates were truly delicious and filling. Be prepared for 2+ hours for the 5 courses. We spent @ $220 total. It's rare to have such a fancy and special meal for vegetarians/vegans so this is a real treat and highly recommended.

I missed an outing my colleagues had at this restaurant and after their hearty endorsements decided I couldn’t leave Seattle without a visit. Be prepared to devote your entire evening to this culinary event and come hungry. The fixed menu consists of 5 courses. I chose the wine pairing because of the praise lavished by on colleagues on the wines but another colleague told me the non-alchoholic option was lovely. I was impressed by the range of flavors and textures. Each plate was a new adventure. I was also delighted with the context of gratitude and focus on local ingredients. As a solo diner I was made to feel welcome. Regardless of whether you are a vegan, vegetarian or omnivore, make time for this culinary experience.

We like this place lots The fresh ingredients are super special Very creative chef Very clean You have to make reservations

A revelation at Harvest Beat, in Wallingford, successor to Sutra. Fresh farm grown and foraged Ingredients we never heard of or imagined, prepared and combined and plated deliciously and gorgeously. Tasting menu for all. Also imaginative house blended fruit elixirs. Totally vegan, so the "cream" served with the excellent fresh ground Peruvian coffee is made from hemp.

I sat at the chef's counter and really enjoyed this meal. The chef is surprisingly not vegan either. I love vegetables and this menu did a fantastic job of accentuating the tastes of so many different ones. I unfortunately had to drive straight to the airport, so I had to skip the wine pairing. But they have a lovely non-alcoholic beverage pairing option.

We tried this place last week and overall we were happy. 5 stars on the use of the fresh local ingredients 5 stars on service 5 stars on the efforts The reason for the 4 stars is because two of the 5 meal course were at the same level but below par. We will go again

This place was amazing 😉 ! Everything tasted so good 😊 the presentation of all the dishes were excellent, it was definitely perfection! If ur ever in Seattle and u love vegetarian food, try this place! You won't be sorry.

If you haven't been, just go for a phenomenal unique won't find anything like it dining experience and pinnacle culinary taste sensation. Staff are lovely and work tirelessly to ensure a friendly intimate service focused atmosphere and owners and staff seem more like family aligned by the common good of fresh vegan and vegetarian locally foraged and sourced ingredients integrated in interesting and new combinations to constantly delight the senses. Thoughtful wine and non-alcoholic pairings further enhance the experience. Harvest Beat is by far my single favorite restaurant in Seattle. I recently brought a group of carnivorous friends in for dinner and not only were they raving about the experience for days they also swore several of the dishes had to have had meat in them! Keep up the great work. Diners: This is a prix fixe menu that would go for $100+/seat in most restaurants. It's an incredible sensory and dining experience on many levels but also an incredible value for the quality and diversity of tastes, textures, and connection you'll enjoy.

One of the best meals I have ever had, every time I go. The commination of great quality ingredients and exceptional flavors leads to an experience like no other. The owners are very hands on and their love for food and community comes through. If you get a chance try this weeks meals the stuff mushrooms are to die for!!

Harvest Beat offers one evening seating for a five-course, vegan, locally-sourced meal. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and welcoming. Perfect for a date or special occasion while also being family friendly. Our meal began at 7 p.m., but if you arrive early you can pick a seat with a view of the kitchen. I recommend this because it's fun to watch the orchestration of serving everyone in the restaurant at once. The food was terrific with complex flavors to slowly eat and savor. I love that the chef walks you through the menu before starting service so that you can appreciate the variety and source of ingredients that go into the mean. Also, the servings were hearty and filling. You will not leave hungry. To keep up with produce in season, Harvest Beat changes their menu every three weeks. It will be a treat to return and see what they are up to next.

Don't let the interior fool you, this was one of the best meals I've had yet. We were absolutely blown away by the service and meals prepared by our chef. The food was locally sourced and foraged which made it all the more appetizing and important to support. There aren't enough words to describe how delicious and aesthetically pleasing the food was - although portions are very large so be hungry. Our group was very full and despite that, we ate all the food on our plates. I cannot wait to go back.

The food was so good, we had to stop & savor every bite before taking the next. Chef created complex flavors & textures in each course, with surprising combinations. Mindful eating at its best.

This might possibly be the best meal I've eaten. It was so good! A really thoughtful 5-course vegan meal. Don't let vegan scare you, it was delicious and filling. My husband and I talked about the food the entire meal. Check it out and tell your friends!

You will love the presentation and service. The dishes and combination of flavors made every bite in the five course fixed menu unique. The atmosphere is cozy and the service makes you feel more like you are at a friends house for dinner rather than a restaurant. But honestly the most memorable part of the experience was hearing the chef describe each course in great detail before the meal and the passion showed when the food arrived. I wouldn't recommend bringing kids or unadventurous eaters.

We had an incredible experience sipping on beautiful wine, learning about the food we were going to eat, and tickling our taste buds with tasty flavors. Not only do we feel like family here, but we always have the best meal of our lives when we dine. The ever changing menu keeps us on our toes and draws us back to wanting more. We love it at Harvest Beet and think you will too!

This outstanding restaurant experience exceeded all my expectations. I am not vegan but I would eat here as often as I could. The service was excellent and the food was so creative and beautiful. Such intense tastes! We chose the wine paring menu to go with it and were very glad that we did. The portions were generous and I wanted to lick my plate due to their wonderful tastes. Dining here is a unique experience as there is only 1 setting at 6:30pm. The menu of the day is fixed and features a wide variety of foods. There are tables for 2 to 4 people. Before dining we were served a glass of Cava (sparkling wine) and were treated to a talk by the chef about the food we were to eat. The food was served promptly and we had the opportunity to chat with our friends while dining. The restaurant itself is a relatively small place on a main street in the Wallingford neighborhood. There seemed to be plenty of street parking.
Perfect date night spot... and it’s vegan
Took my girlfriend to Harvest Beat for a date night. Couldn’t have been better. The service was impeccable, from the hostess showing us several possible tables and giving us a choice, to the owner stopping by to discuss the wine pairing. Food was delicious and although there were five courses, we were satiated but not stuffed at the end of the evening. The wine pairing (three wines and a cognac) was well worth the added cost although you better not drive afterwards! Things you should know: There is no choice of a meal — the executive chef sets the menu every three weeks based on what is locally available and fresh at that time. It’s five smallish courses. You’ll be there at least two hours. Everything is vegan and when we ate there everything was gluten free. There’s only one seating, at 7 pm. The chef gives a five-minute talk before service starts, explaining each course including where the ingredients came from. And although it’s vegan, you don’t feel like it’s lacking anything. Highly recommended as a date night. Not recommended for children unless they’re adventurous eaters and very well-behaved.
