Always a good experience.

The tapas at Harvest Vine is creative and tasty. The pacing of the courses is excellent. Wine is good and not over priced. I enjoy the upstairs space with the chefs busily creating. They obviously work well together and create a happy and warm space.

Sadly lacking

By Fisibee |

This used to be our favorite restaurant. We would find any excuse to visit. Then the chef changed and so did the restaurant. We haven't been back for a couple of years, but with family in town thought we'd give it another try. We love tapas and wanted to be pleased but thought the prices a little over the top with the hot tapas mostly $20 or above per plate. The food was OK but not particularly special. They are generous with the bread, which is just as well, and we actually enjoyed the olive oil tasting trio. Will we go back? Sadly, No.

Note to replacement chef: Not your scene

By Lawrence P |

Thurs 3/28. Head chef out, under the weather. We're all human. His stand-in needs to understand that people sit at the bar of an open kitchen for the experience. Not to be purposely ignored. His boss emphatically knows that. One reason the restaurant is such a success. His fill-in chef did not. This guy: Cold and uncomfortable in his own skin. We happened to arrive extra early since that was the only open slot a the counter. First ones there. When we sat down, he was volubly complaining to the universe about something in the day's menu. Nobody else was paying attention. In the 90 minutes we sat directly opposite his workstation he NEVER even made eye contact. Seriously? The job of a chef is not to be an entertainer, but in an open kitchen where people book ahead to sit at the counter and have the odd interaction with the chefs, it IS part of the job. The young lady who was his junior, doing the meats, absolutely had a personality and, when it didn't interfere with her work, exchanged a few words and jokes here and there. SHE MADE THE GUESTS FEEL WELCOME. At one point, something happened -- don't recall what -- and I said to my wife, 'If this guy had a personality, I would say something amusing, but what's the point?' Meal was good, but not as good as when the head chef is there and there's a bit of banter about the food and maybe even the odd extra plate passed along as a 'thank you.' Tonight's chef may cook good food, but he needs to find a job in a kitchen far from the guests.

Good and fresh tapas

By Niv T |

A really nice and cozy place. Tapas are very nice - had almost all of them among us. Good simple fresh. The fish was fantastic. The baked eggs were excellent. And the food was not that extensive.

Return visit - still great!

By 206Seattle |

We hadn't been back to Harvest Vine for some time, and were delighted by the flavors and execution of the dishes. Juan Carlos was very friendly and made us feel at home. The prices are not cheap but they are reasonable. Wines are good. Will come back soon!

Amazing!!

By ugadad2017 |

This homey tapas restaurant exceeded expectations. The plates were meant for sharing which allowed us to explore the vastness of the menu. The cheese plate was fabulous, with options ranging from almond creamy cheeses to humble fogs, with great toppings for your cracker. The lamb and beef plates were so amazing we order two of each! The service matched the food, as it was excellent. Our waiter was kind and witty, answering our questions and giving suggestions of his favorites! Harvest Vine has crawled its was up our list of top restaurants. Shout out to Denis! The best server ever:)

Delicious Food, Mediocre Service

By justoneraj |

Excellent Food, really bad service. I went to the Harvest Vine for the first time with my wife the other day. THe food was excellent. All the flavors complemented each other and the meats were cooked absolutely perfectly. It was all a big on the salty side but I like that and it made the wine pairing even more perfect. My complaint is that the service was just so bad. The server never introduced herself to us so I don't know her name, but I'll just remember her as the large asian gal in glasses. She didn't spend time talking about the food. She would just show up and stare blankly at us till we gave her our order. No cordial comments were made when she dropped off the check, or when we got up to leave. It really pained me to have to leave a tip. Are we going to go back? ABSOLUTELY. The food is just so good. I guess with a warm inviting name as the Harvest Vine and the not cheap prices, I was expecting that the service would be up to par.

Nice Basque Dinner

By Susan C |

It was quite authentic. The rice with chanterelles was amazing. The sausage was quite good. The tortilla was very good-lots of potato. The trio of ice cream was uneven.

Great food and atmosphere

By travelbugs0527 |

We really enjoyed our meal, tapas is a great way to try different dishes. I found the prices reasonable for the quality of the food. The service was great, the timing of serving the dishes perfect.

A treat for the pallet

By dsbmhcampbell |

Sit at the counter for a treat. The food and staff are fabulous! We can't wait to return in the summer when the restraunt opens up and looks like something from a European gourmet magazine. Highly recommend the duck confit and the octopus!

Must try if visiting Seattle

One of the best meals I have enjoyed in Seattle. Excellent Service. The best restaurant in Seattle. Its a pleasure to sit at the counter and watch the chefs do their magic.

Slice of Spain in PNW

By SkykingCT |

I first visited Harvest Vine over 5+ years ago and enjoyed it then. The space is a little bigger now, but the quality of the food has only improved. So many good choices it is always hard to choose. Had beef cheek, lingua, octopus, and flan. There was not a bad choice in the bunch. Besides fresh sushi, this is the only other place I could eat at every day and never be disappointed. If you do not visit this hidden gem while in Seattle you are just plain stupid.

My favorite of restaurants sampled on four continents

By Aurora_Guy |

Anyone reading my other reviews will find I reserve a five rating for the absolute best of my travel experiences. Heretofore, no restaurant has received such a rating from me, but I do not hesitate one second to give that to the Harvest Vine in Seattle. For the past couple of years, it has remained my absolute favorite dining establishment in my many travels worldwide. The atmosphere is perfectly cozy, the waitstaff always attentive and knowledgeable, and the food is uncommonly terrific in both quality and presentation. In addition, dinner for two will not break the bank at $150-200 for several courses and generous servings of wine. I happen to be a bit of an adventurous eater, but those who are not should still consider Harvest Vine. This is a tapas place, so you run little risk of ruining the evening by ordering something you may not like. There are always several choices for each course on the menu, including nightly specials. The portions are small by the nature of tapas, so you can order one dish to share or order two of the same if you and your companion both enjoy a particular item. Dining like this is a leisurely endeavor. Take your time, sample the extensive wine selections along the way, and enjoy your company. One Friday recently, the menu for my table went something like this: To start, the waiter delivered a complimentary soup made from yellow beets, apples, and a really flavorful olive oil. Again, this is tapas, so the soup portions were shot-glass-sized, but the taste was a true mouthful. Next up was another soup of lentils and wild mushrooms served in demitasse cups ringed with popcorn powder. Laminado de escolar crudo proved to be a nice follow-on of thin slices of white tuna and a charred lemon vinaigrette. The terrina de foie with pistachio salad and apple-fig compote was quite rich, but that didn't make me hesitate over a sampler of three cheeses. The next hot dish, conjeo (rabbit) con caracoles (snails), was done with chorizo and a sweet pepper sauce, and finally pulpo da feira (octopus) with slices of red potatoes, smoked paprika, and lagrima olive oil finished the meal. My companion and I had only room for coffee. Time elapsed: Two and a half hours. It's hard to imagine a better way to have spent that time. The only down side I can discern of Harvest Vine is that it can be difficult to get reservations, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night. For example, I called on a Monday for the Friday night reservation for two, and I was told we could only have space at 5 PM. It is a small place, but rest assured only half of their seats are reserved. Walk-ins are welcome. Try getting there at or near opening. If you have to wait, you can cool your heals at the small (four-seat) bar downstairs, or on a warm evening enjoy socializing with other patrons outside. Otherwise, try to book a week or two in advance. Harvest Vine has been "Basque-ing in Seattle", as the sign says, for a decade. The reasons for their success are readily apparent after one meal. It's a regular stop for me when in town on business or pleasure. (I hear from others their sister restaurant Txori in Belltown is excellent, too. You can see a photo of the octopus dish mentioned above if you go to their web site: http://www.txoribar.com/)

Terrific tapas!

By Stacy Strickland |

Finally made it to Harvest Vine last night. Despite not being able to order paella for dine in, the food was delicious and the service was great. I always love it when the waitstaff wil give their opinion, especially when I'm having a hard time choosing between two dishes. There are limited plant-based dishes in the menu, so I ate a bit more seafood and cheese than normal. Everything was good and full of flavor.

Great tapas with friends

By Christophe V |

The room is very small, then you need to reserve or come later for dinner. All tapas plates are really so good and not expensive. it's the best place to come with friends and eat some new foods.

Deterred single diner

By sarapavs |

I was excited to eat here but the moment I got there(as a single diner) it got busy. I immediately felt pressure from the wait staff to order multiple dishes. The kitchen staff was clearly pushing to serve me immediately and get me out. I was planning on ordering additional dishes but felt deterred. Delicious food but rude staff.

We keep going back - and it only gets better!

By jawms |

I 1st reviewed Harvest Vine over a year ago. Since then I've been back 2x with family; my husband has been back 3x, lucky man! The food and service are simply perfect. Friendly staff, outstanding food, excellent wine list. It's a must-visit when we travel to Seattle. Go - you won't be sorry.

Interesting

By KJHNorthbrook |

This is a small restaurant with a lovely room downstairs, very charming. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and was spot on with her wine and after dinner drinks with our food.

Never disappoints!

By LLAtkinson |

Chef continues to create magic in the kitchen! The foie gras was excellent, as always, but it could have been better without the quince purée. Fresh bacalao was a rare treat. Venison loin was perfectly cooked, and the arroz with mushrooms haunts my dreams.

Best Meal I Have Had in Seattle in a Long Time!!

By Sheri F |

We were staying downtown and it took us about 15 minutes to get to via Uber, but worth it!! Everything we ordered was innovative and flavorful. We sat at the bar, and would highly recommend to watch all of the action. It is a small room, but there is more seating downstairs. Food, wine, dessert...everything was perfect. We will be back!!

Basque tapas

By j0yce58 |

We came for brunch. Very extensive brunch menu with a good selsection of lunch and brunch items . Lots of wines by the glass.Extensive list of very interesting Spanish wines. We had hope to eat Jamon Iberico and was disappointed that it was not on the brunch menu. But they did not hesitate to oblige. The plate of jamon was plentiful and at $18, a super value. it's the only place I know which has gateau basque on the menu. I was in heaven. Love the rustic decor. Would definite return to sample more tapas on the dinner menu.

Didn’t meet my expectations

By Italtraveler |

Food is not bad but expected more from this high rated restaurant. It is expensive and I believe it is not worth it! The pulpo ($20) is just a tapa…and it is not amazing. The Gambas a la Plancha and the Berenjena are just ok; probably the best tapa was la tortilla de huevo wrapped in Serrano ham.

Love this place!

By Colin |

We eat here ever time we are in Seattle and it never disappoints. I love the scallops and the iberica. The staff is all very friendly and everyone is treated like family here.

This is a first rate restaurant.

I have eaten. at Harvest Vine every November the last the last three years to celebrate birthdays. Every time outstanding food and service.

What an excellent experience

By zoltarpanaflex |

I visited a couple weeks ago with three other people. We sat downstairs, it was a lovely area. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and warm. We had a variety of plates, from venison, to a cheese plate to mushrooms to lamb to scallops. Everything -- *everything* -- was just fantastic. I can't wait to go back, it was just perfect. I'd heard a lot of people say "Sit upstairs, you can watch them prepare the plates" but I'm glad we were downstairs, it was I think quieter, and next time I'll sit upstairs and enjoy the show :) Tons of easy street parking, and you probably want to make a reservation, it's a small place.

So glad we tried!!

By wher2next |

This tapas spot was across the street from the bus stop my wife and I used frequently during our visit. On our last night and having just eaten dinner elsewhere, we attempted to 'pop in' for a glass of wine but quickly gave up because there're was a group ahead of us and the place looked full. As we walked away, the host made eye contact with me, waved us in, and sat at the bar where we would watch the highly skilled chefs... what a treat! My wife's Rioja was more than excellent, and the peach dessert and saffron tea I had were fantastic. This small place is perfect for a date night or couples night out.

Special Find!

By 1witchywoman |

I'm glad I ignored the less than glowing review in Seattle Magazine because I disagree with them. I was really pleased with our meal, the feel of the restaurant and the staff. I recommend sitting at the counter so you can see all the lovely dishes being prepared and visit with the staff. They were more than happy to visit with us about the dishes and make recommendations. The beet salad was the best I've had and there was a special pork dish that tasted like the best steak I'd ever had. Prawn salad dish was okay. For dessert we ordered the bizarre sounding spaghetti squash crepes with caramel and pomegranate seeds - we liked it! A lovely bottle of wine and wonderfully crusty bread rounded out a memorable meal. I'll go again and again.

Generally good Basque food; some odd omissions at the bar

By Eyewall1 |

As someone who loves Basque food, this is a reasonably good neighborhood restaurant (Cap Hill / Broadway). We got seats downstairs, which was perfect for our group - very good atmosphere, not loud at all. The kitchen area upstairs might have been a bad fit for us. It's real Basque food - no bacon-wrapped dates here; expect plenty of seafood, sausage, grill items. Mostly done well, but a couple of items that fell a little flat. We weren't wild about the grilled chorizo - it was just average. The squid divided the table - the squid lovers thought it was good, the non-squid fans thought the stuffing (tentacles) looked like intestines. Service is leisurely, but not in a bad way - it's perfect for an evening catching up with friends. Still, I wouldn't want to do a dinner here if I had somewhere to be afterwards. We were seated for just under two and a half hours. As for the bar, they are wine and beer only. Minor irritant, but understandable. Wine markup is about 3:1 (e.g. $15 bottle costs $45). The real mystery is around the lack of port wines. Huh? The wine list is otherwise extensive, but this is a glaring omission for a place serving Basque food. No, Sherry doesn't quite cut it - how hard is it to keep a couple bottles around? Dinner for 4 with dessert and alcohol ran about $260 with tip. For the price, I would say it's a relatively poor value. It was a pleasant evening, and I would be happy if I lived nearby, but I wouldn't make a special trip to come back.

Overpriced

By NielsNybo |

Overpriced. My wife and I were here with two other couples. Appetizer with 3 olives: $7. We didn’t fall for that. My wife and I had $2.5 bread, 2x $4.5 gazpacho soups, 2x $22 tapas plates: one plate was two small and oily scallops and the other was grilled octopus - very tasty - but only two small pieces. We also had 1x $11 omelet that was tasty. We wanted 3x individual bills - on bill per couple. Nope, they don’t do that. But we could get the bill and calculate each our costs and ask for that charge. Odd. We wanted to pay for the $48 bottle of wine we shared with a couple. We ended up paying almost $120 for a small meal and half a bottle of wine. I was even hungry when I left. Won’t come back.

Delicious Spanish Tapas

By DKNYC101 |

Had a great evening here with a very European feel to it. Seems to me to be as authentic as you can get to a Spanish tapas bar/restaurant. My BF and I ate a boom a of creamy rice and chanterelles that was to die for! Like a savory rice pudding almost. We also had two different preparations of ham. One was a sliced Serrano ham which, as expected, was fabulous. Tender and slightly tangy, as opposed to sweet, it melted in my mouth. Secondly we had a pork loin sliced, over potatoes which tasted a bit like a SPanish barbecue and was easily one of the best things I've tasted in a long time. The wine menu is extensive and has many SPanish varietals that are different than the usual Rioja. We had a bottle of EMillio Murano 2011 that was so rich and delicious. A great addition to the meal. Strive is very unpretentious and we were not rushed in the least. Highly recommend the place to everyone but especially if on a date or for foodies.

One of the best restaurants in Seattle

By Arthur K |

Wow, was this place impressive. The food and service was definitely on point. I felt everything we ordered was amazing. I'm surprised that more people don't know about this restaurant in Seattle has it has relatively low buzz. If you're even considering this place, just stop your search and go.

Simple setting with excellent staff. Ordered "small plates" for the four of us. Each prepared to perfection. Extensive wine list with good recommendation from the server. Meal topped with flan and expresso.

Great dinner!

Just returned from a great dinner at Harvest Vine. The setting is very Spanish--small and friendly. The service was excellent, the food and wine outstanding, and the whole evening enjoyable. We have traveled throughout Spain and recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious!!!

By Jennifer L |

Went with a group of friends to Harvest Vine while I was visiting Seattle and had one of the best meals ever! Loved the family-style tapas! Everything was made fresh from local organic produce and so delicious! The heirloom tomatoes and the green chili peppers were amongst the highlights but everything was absolutely amazing! Very savory sauces! A lot of fun if you go with a mid-sized group so you can order a bunch of different dishes to share! Service was great- we had a never-ending bread basket to accompany our tapas! Would definitely go back when I'm in town!

Lovely place with delicious food!

By Expatwifehouston |

We were visiting Seattle and friends took us to this place. We chose a variety of dishes and everything was delicious: the sausage, “vaca”, the pork, the calamari! Service was excellent and I highly recommemdvthis place for a very pleasant evening!

Fantastic food with excellent service!

By aclong111 |

I have been to Harvest Vine several times and every time it has been a delicious meal. To start, the staff are very knowledgeable and also very considerate of their patron's requests. Any mention of an allergy is adeptly handled and the meal, which is served as tapas, is reconstructed to meet your needs. The little meals are always beautifully plated, and the food tastes just as good as it looks. The selection of cheeses is always a must, and the rest of the menu has something special for everyone. To finish, the desserts, coffees, and after-dinner drinks are also spectacular. We had a piece of cheesecake at our last visit which was phenomenal. I suggest reservations on a Friday or Saturday night, and you should expect to leave with a lighter wallet. Overall, the food is fantastic and the service is excellent; it is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle!!

Great Food and Great Service

By Scott P |

If you want to have an intimate dining experience in Seattle eating fresh, mostly local and organic food that is very uniquely prepared and delicious then definitely go to the Harvest Vine. It is a tapas style menu with an excellent wine list and believe me the food is worth the effort of deciding what to order. Lots of great choices so don't worry about selection and the service is also great. Not really a place for kids (IMHO) and much better for couples but larger groups will also be happy. Dress any way you like (this is Seattle) and try something that sounds different (chorizo with shredded chocolate was really good). I get the impression the menu changes daily so other food recommendations may be useless. Let the waiter suggest a wine pairing if you are lost in the sea of over 100 Spanish and other regional wines - we did and it was wonderful.

Excellent tapas and wines in a charming space

By Don L |

A perennial favorite, Harvest Vine lived up to our expectations. Except for a couple rather bland lamb chops, each of five plates was exquisite: Padron peppers, an eggplant dish topped with anchovy, clams in garlic/wine sauce with white beans, sublime plum-topped cheesecake. As always, excellent selection of sherries and wines by the glass as well as fabulous selection of Spanish wines. Seating in the wine cave is romantic and enhanced by friendly and skilled servers. Do think management ought to provide bread as part of meal instead of charging $2.50 for 6" of baguette. Still, a first-rate place to savor fine tapas.

Delicious and expensive

The food here is off the charts The price is on the high end of the charts A good place to go for a special event or if you aren't very hungry

Sit at the bar if you can. This isn't a place to come if you're on a time limit. Which is nice. Take in the atmosphere.

Spain in Seattle

By Francophile4330 |

Truly exceptional Spanish food. How many restaurants serve grilled baby lettuces and spring peas with burnt lemon vinaigrette? Delicious!! And that was just the beginning. Owner and staff are very gracious and welcoming. Decor and design of restaurant very european. Highly recommended!

Wonderful!

By SisBoston |

A delightful Spanish tapas restaurant in Madison Valley, Harvest Vine offers superb small plates in a friendly and congenial setting. The meal begins with an amuse bouche, in our case an asparagus soup served in a porcelain soup spoon. Our table of six shared about seven items on the menu, including the wonderful meat platter and cheese platter. The Gambas al ajillo, shrimp poached in olive oil and peppers, was delightful. Don’t forget to sop up the sauce with your bread. We all fought over the last morsels of the tortilla Espanola, a combination of potato, onion, and egg. The perfectly creamy flan is about the best we’ve ever had. The only small warning: if you bring your own wine, there is a $25.00 per bottle corkage fee.

Extremely expensive but outrageously delicious!

By KellyBarron |

Four of us spent $180 on dinner which included 4 glasses of wine & 3 desserts. The tapas were superb, nicely prepared and presented, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The flan is outstanding.

Good food, but they want to tell you how you should like your food

By Bagwilltravel55 |

Although this restaurant is a bit of a drive from downtown, it has interesting brunch food and amazing sweet buns with vanilla bean sugar! However, the staff have attitude. The menu specifies lightly scrambled eggs, my husband asked for his to be well-done. The waiter replied that the cook couldn't do that, then said he wouldn't do that, then finally agreed. The eggs arrived very 'creamy' and were sent back to be cooked the rest of the way. I ordered Huevos a la Flamenca and it arrived with the egg white very runny (I like over easy, but not with the white still in a totally liquid state). I sent it back for more cooking and it then arrived with the white and yolk cooked hard. Really, not necessary for the cook to react like that, particularly for the price that is charged for brunch.

Classic

By Tanya M |

Year after year this place does not disappoint. Classic Spanish tapas with outstanding service from the expert staff.

Expect to pay $ 50 per person without drinks, dessert, tip.

By Trekking |

Not having received any olive oil, I requested some for the bread placed on our table. SOO, I was served a 'sampler' of 3 small dishes of oil and charged $6.50. I am not a connoisseur of olive oils, nor intend to become one. I just wanted some oil for my dry bread. I felt 'taken' by the pettiness of the restaurant. The tapas, even the raciones were a size that requires ordering at least 4 or 5 per person. Food ranged from excellent to so-so. Too much time lapsed between plates. We filled up with cheese and bread while anxiously awaiting the next dish to be served. The following evening we went to Voila Bistro and had a delicious dinner for approximately one third of the price.

My Favorite!!

I've been dining at harvest vine for over 10 years. A seat at the upstairs cook bar is the place to be. Food is always changing and always fantastic. I'll be back for the next 10 years guys!! Keep up the great work!'

Original & always delicious Basque Tapas

No reservations upstairs where we like to sit at the bar so we can watch the food being prepared, but there's also a pleasant dining room downstairs. Far from the usual boring dishes, the chef keeps coming up with new and interesting choices. It's our favorite restaurant in Seattle and a friend had a fabulous 50th birthday party here.

I enjoyed the place! Good selection of classic Spanish tapas, Spanish wines, and desserts. It actually felt a bit like I was back in Spain. Everything we ordered was good, not mind blowing. Way over-priced

By ils928 |

I went to Harvest Vine with a few friends a few days ago. We had never been there before and we picked this restaurant because of all the positive reviews online. My, oh my, we were quite disappointed with our experience. There were two good things - the cozy setting and the friendly service - but the food was just average for the price. The first complaint we had was that the price range ($21-$30) listed on the Trip Advisor website was WAY OFF. It should say at least $50 per person (that is if you want to be at least 80% full and you don't order any wine). Also, the menu on the restaurant website was NOT updated (we discovered that many of the dishes on the online menu were no longer available). For the dishes that were still available, the prices had gone up by at least $1 each dish. That wouldn't be a big deal if the dishes were of decent size. But it became a bigger problem when most of the dishes were only bite size - I could finish most of the dishes in one or two bites. I have an average appetite and I can easily finish at least 5 to 6 dishes. When the food finally came, we found that Harvest Vine was good at preparing the vegetable dishes such as the brussels sprouts and the cauliflowers. Their olives were good too. But they did just an average job with the fish and the meat dishes. Their potato soup was also too salty. For that price range, we were naturally expecting a little more in terms of the taste, but we were let down. That’s why it turned out to be quite an unpleasant surprise for us all.

AWESOME!!!!!

At the end of the day there is good and then there is great! This my friends is great. The heirloom tomatoes are so amazing and all the fresh cut cured meats are to die for. Mediocre, Slow ineffectual service, crap food

By kawoh |

Horrible food, came as part of a large group and they were difficult. The food was very slow and the service wasn't attentive. Given the stellar reviews I was looking forward to an amazing foodie experience how I was let down. Tried Nishino nearby and was gobsmacked how good it was compared to this restaurant which had similar 4.5 review standard. Don't waste your time or money, choose somewhere different, never again.

TASTING RESTAURANT

By Sandra A |

This review is a little tricky as I am generally not a fan of tasting restaurants. Actually I am still not. Restaurant is downstairs and very quaint. They suggest 2-3 items per person to share. This is not the place to go if you are hungry! I can honestly say that although the portions were small, they were all tasty and the chef excelled with his use of spices and flavors

Delicious Spanish Restaurant

By lakecomodude |

Amazing and comfortable environment with wood and brick.  Adored the Spanish menu and an entire menu of Spanish wines.  The food was savory and exquisite.  I loved the Branzino and my girl, who is vegetarian, really enjoyed the beets, cauliflower and garbanzo beans.  This is a tremendous restaurant.

Always a treat to dine here

By Scrumptious |

My husband and I love going to this restaurant and have been coming here for year. We love to experiment and order several different dishes to share. Flavors are always amazing and we are always impressed. We love sitting at the bar and watching the food preparation as we enjoy a nice glass of wine. We're always greeted with a warm welcome from management. Dessert is always divine!

Informal setting, excellent food

By Dale B |

The food is considered small plates, but we found the portion size to be ample. The two of us shared two appetizers and two main dishes and one dessert. Each item was carefully prepared, nicely spiced and delicious. The food is Basque or Catalan based.

A delightful experience and a pleasure to watch chef cook

By JDebWashington |

I went here with a recommendation from a peer who is a foodie just like us. He recommended sitting at the bar and that was the best recommendation. The menu is limited for vegetarians like me but every thing was delicious. I would say the cheese options weren't as flavorful as Tilth but worth a try. The spinach was really good too. My other half enjoys his meat and so he ordered way more than he would normally just to try more things. He loved the duck confit as well as the lamb- both were delicious and very well prepared. My highlight was watching the chef cook- he was probably the most calm and composed person I have ever seen in the kitchen. they cook in front of you and so the cooking section was spotlessly clean, very methodical and beautifully plated individual plates didn't take very long to come either. Would love to go try their brunch next time

It is larger than it looks

Met a friend for dinner. Our reservation was for 6p (mid week). We were greeted at the door by friendly smiling faces. Our table was downstairs (not really accessible for anyone with mobility issues) I would have preferred the main floor but it can be noisy. We needed the quiet. The menu is small plates. We shared a beautiful beet salad, house made sausage/grilled bread and tortilla espanola. It was enough and we each had a dessert. The Tarta De Pinones was tasty. Our service was very good. Thank you Paige. All in all a good experience...minus points for accessibility.

Cozy dining and tasty bites

By Jason J |

I suggest seating in the lower level where you will dine in a cozy space. The wine cellar feeling ads to the experience. Great wine selection at many price points. The dishes are best shared so you get a variety of flavors to sample. The tables do not have any type of seasonings, and if you ask for salt or pepper they simply say no. That was the biggest complaint that the friends I was with had. The service is at a slower pace so plan on not rushing. Great place to go on a date or special night out. Reservation are highly recommended. Plenty of parking in the area.

Wonderful Dining Experience!

By Jim W |

Small, low-key restaurant on a street corner in an older eclectic neighborhood. Food was outstanding! A wonderful touch of Spain with authentic tapas and main courses. The atmosphere is cozy, with a roll-up door that allows side-walk dining. Weather happened to be great, so that made the evening that much nicer. We had a broad selection from the menu and everything was great, it seems you can't go wrong with the choices. Highly recommend giving Harvest Vine a try.

A unique restaurant for Seattle- Andalusia and a romantic room

By Pepper |

We had a lovely time here. A knowledgeable waiter -fast service and in a downstairs romantic room with river rock walls. It is a tapas place- with generous dishes ( most of them anyhow) We liked the tuna appetizer and the cauliflower which was roasted beautifully. We also had their signature pork dish and some wonderful spinach. That filed us up and we enjoyed every last bite of it.

If you live tapas don't miss this place. Perfect after arboretum.

By Lori R |

Rabbit rillete. Seared foie gras. Oustanding cheeses. Perfect scallops. The kind of food you share and moan together about how good it is. perfect to walk there from the arboretum via the Japanese garden. Take it slow and savor every tidbit. You will be tempted to lick the plates.

Terrific

By Colin |

We always try to make sure to eat at Harvest Vine when visiting town. We were in town over the holidays and they did not disappoint. Our party of 5 walked in on a Friday evening and was miraculously seated upstairs. I always recommend sitting upstairs because it is a completely different vibe than upstairs. We shared the usual iberico, scallops, beats, and mushrooms. We also tried the trout, meats, cheeses, and several other dishes. Everything was terrific as usual. The only downside was that Juan Carlo was in Spain, but everyone took very good care of us anyway. We will certainly be back!

Perfect spot for our Anniversary Dinner

By Heather C |

We had many recommendations on restaurants in Seattle for a nice Anniversary dinner. However, we googled "Spanish Tapas Seattle" and up popped the Harvest Vine. We were thrilled to find Jamon Iberico, delicious tapas and scrumptions Sherry! They had no reservations available on the short notice, but three or four tables available for walk-ins. We got there right at 5 and had no problem getting a spot. It did fill up quickly after that however. It was about a 15 Uber from downtown, but well worth it. We met the head chef and Carlos, the manager(?) was so kind. It is small and intimate and if we lived there we would make a habit of going. The food was excellent by the way!

What a Treat

By mrsdagle |

I had visited here quite a while ago and really enjoyed the service, the cooking theatrics (when you sit at the bar) as well as the tasty food. While some of the items have Basque names, the food really seems Andalucian, noted for its simple ingredients and strong flavors. My second visit was no exception, I tried the fried peppers (pimenientos del padron) which were amazing and the morcilla (blood sausage). Now, I have had many opportunities to try morcilla and never took it up. I watched it being prepared for another diner and felt compelled to try it. I was not sorry, very tender, tasty and no ick! element at all. I ended the event with the cheese cake made with goat milk-also excellent-and a cafe solo, Spanish style espresso. The service was warm and the regular gentleman diner sitting next to me was also very nice. I can't wait to return.

A lovely treat - interesting and fun food

By Michael L |

Our son and his significant other treated us to one of their favorite places. Small plates, tapas, was on tap and we shared many. From foie gras to delightful octopus to a lovely charcuterie plate with enough sausage to all four of us to taste. A highlight was the iberica pig (a Spanish pig fed on acorns) grilled to perfection. We ended with flan. Our son added that the wine they had was quite good; we don't drink so we can't comment. All in all, a fine dining evening.

Charming European Tapas in Madison Park

By AndrewT |

Consistently intriguing, Harvest Vine brings quality ingredients and caring preparation to the currrent tapas craze. Try the roast venison, the pepper stuffed with shrimp and the in season Heirloom tomato salad for a great small plate combination. What makes Harvest Vine so special is the one at a time, hand made quality of their menu, along with seasonal specials that keep ypu coming back again and again.

Amazing Spanish Tapas

By SeattleTraveler1_11 |

I've been to Harvest Vine at least 10 times and have always been impressed. The food is consistently good and beautiful. The staff is amazing. The atmosphere is very nice. I would definitely recommend it. It has a Spanish family-owned feel... Everyone feels welcome.

a special place

By amyseattle2015 |

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here last night! Wonderful selection and the ambiance is cozy. The chef counter upstairs in bustling and the wine cellar dining downstairs is a nice romantic evening for 2 or a group of great friends...and who doesn't love great wine?

Phenomenal small plates.

By Morpheus Z |

Larger than tappas and smaller than an entree, the dishes at Harvest Vine are perfect to share. The restaurant has an extensive wine list, and the servers are happy to help patrons (such as myself) who are less familiar with Spanish wines to find something to fit their taste. All of the items we sampled were outstanding. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Can't wait to go back. Recommended.

Enjoyable but not authentic

By mbg |

Our most disappointing dinner in Seattle. I would call this “Spanish inspired PNW” instead of authentic Spanish. On the plus side, the cellar dining room is very nice, even romantic, reminding me in a good way of a European wine cellar. The Spanish wine list is top notch, and the Sherry list is the best I’ve ever seen. The food has Spanish names and ingredients, but is missing on seasonings and some prep. It’s still a nice place to go for dinner, but for someone looking for Spanish inspired instead of authentic. This rating was a challenge. The wine list and sherry really take the day here.

Feels at home

By Pumpkin_Cupcakes |

We went on a Thursday evening around 19:30 and we had a choice between the bar and a table. From the outside, the restaurant seems really small, but once you go downstairs, there are two big rooms. We decided to dine at the bar because it's an open kitchen and we like to watch how the food is prepared. After looking through the menu for a few minutes, we ordered the cured meats, eggplant, scallops, and beans. The two chefs looked at our order and discussed the order of preparation. The cured meats were salty, as expected, and went well with the bread that was served when we sat down. While we were enjoying them, one of the chefs began preparing the eggplant. Once it came out of the oven, the couple sitting next to us commented, "That looks good!" and it sure was :)! The other chef started measuring the beans, cooked them on the pan, and popped it in the oven. The result was a very heartwarming dish that you wish would never end. The scallops came last and wow, they were delicious. The caramelized onions went extremely well with the fresh, soft scallops. We weren't planning on having dessert, but we still had room in our bellies, so we asked one of the chefs what he'd recommend. He recommended the chocolate pudding (I can't remember the exact name of it) and it was a great recommendation! Not too sweet, not too dark. It was surely the perfect ending to such a pleasant dining experience. After dinner, the owner (I think) asked us if we needed a cab. We did, so he called right away, and in about ten minutes, our cab was here. We left the restaurant feeling comfortably full and extremely happy. We'd love to return again!

Great Spanish restaurant

By Bing L |

We were looking for tapas for dinner in Seattle and Harvest Vine did not disappoint. The portion is actually moderately larger than the ones we had in Spain, so watch yourself! Everything we ordered was excellent but the standout was the grilled black-footed pig from Spain. I would have said it was a ribeye if I were blindfolded! Service was very helpful and attentive.

One of the best meals I have had in Seattle

By Mom |

We went for a late brunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was nearly empty. Service was excellent and informative. The wine list is incredible and apparently is the best Spanish wine list west of the Mississippi. We will be coming back frequently for almost the wine list alone. The food was incredible: well-prepared, fresh, wonderful flavors and pairings, and well-displayed. I absolutely recommend Harvest Vine and wish I had listened to people who have been telling me to come here for years.

Very nice tapas place

By Mcmlix1959 |

My first trip to Seattle. The food was excellent; the staff was very attentive (my sister and niece are gluten intolerant and they made sure it was all ok); ended up being moderately priced.

Good, but not that good

By merlinslap |

Five of us enjoyed good conversation and a slightly uneven meal of tapas dishes in the downstairs wine room, which is quieter and more comfortable than the upstairs tapas bar atmosphere. The server was pretentious and some of the dishes were very good, but some were ordinary or missed the mark. This is an interesting, somewhat overpriced, restaurant that is worth visiting now and then.

High End Tapas

By Daniel G |

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. They serve small plates and you order a few of them, depending on how many people you have. It's a little pricy but the food is excellent and the service friendly. I particularly like sitting and the bar to watch them prepare the food. If you more than one other person with you then you may prefer a table, as it's harder to carry on a conversation otherwise because of the extra noise and the positioning.

Excellent as always

By jawms |

Every trip to Harvest Vine is an adventure. It's pricey but each dish is carefully crafted and outstanding. The service matches the food. This visit we chose to eat in the tiny main floor area to watch the kitchen, which is totally open, and was so much fun. And if there's better flan outside Spain I haven't found it.

Best tapas restaurant ever!!!!

By Daniel E |

WOW!!! This is truly an amazing experience! I love tapas restaurants, it gives you a chance to try many different dishes and allows you to discover new recipes. By far, this is the best tapas restaurant I have been too and I’ve tried quite a few all over the world. I am almost scared to write this review cause next time I go it will be harder to find a table. There is a small section upstairs for walk-ins. I love that section cause you can see the chefs in action. There is a bigger section in the basement in a more causy atmosphere but reservations are a must. Personally I prefer upstairs cause it’s more lively.

Great food, intimate setting

We enjoyed dinner in the cellar room downstairs. Amazing flavors- very different choices. Attentive wait staff.

Have been wanting to go...

By Jiawen S |

Have been wanting to go for over two years. Finally went today and it didn't dissapoint. Everything was so scrumptious!! Sat at the bar and watched the chef preparing each course. It was fun. One of the best meals I’ve had in months…

Wow!

By super-explorer |

I discovered this restaurant thanks to my friends, who frequent if often, and I an so happy I did. We came for brunch on Sunday morning and tasted almost everything on the menu. WOW pretty much sums it up. The food was consistently delicious and every dish was nothing short of perfect. In fact, the chilled almond and garlic soup was absolutely divine! Make sure you leave room for dessert - their flan and the poached peaches are to die for!

Birthday Dinner

By wonderwoman |

My husband and I dined here last night for our joint birthday dinner celebration. I've heard about this restaurant for years and always wanted to try it. So glad I got to cross this off my bucket dining list! Spanish tapas dining (small plates for sharing) and only spanish wines offered on the wine list. We ordered a moderately priced bottle of rioja and the following dishes: fried anchovies, cured tuna loin with caviar, english peas with seared goat cheese, spanish octopus with potatoes, blood sausage & chorizo with white beans, grilled black pig, and the white almond cake for dessert. That was plenty of food and we were stuffed! We would have been satisfied with one less dish for sure! My favorite dishes were the english peas with seared goat cheese and the grilled black pig. I could tell that the peas were very fresh and paired nicely with the goat cheese. The grilled pig was so tender and delicious. It was cooked medium rare and tasted like steak! So good! Definitely one of the best restaurant meals I've had this year! I wish I lived in Madison Park so I could dine here regularly. Food and service top notch!

Delicious food with great service!

By Nadia T |

We visited this restaurant several times. Every time my husband and I go there we truly enjoy the amazing, creative and delicious selection of tapas they offer. They offer a nice selection of wines that complement their tapas. We usually order several plates and share them. I recommend sitting on the bar and watch the chefs in action. It gets very busy so call ahead for reservation. The downstairs sitting area is more intimate and quiet, works well for bigger groups 4+ or a romantic dinner for a couple. Excellent service specially from the restaurant host Juan Carlos. Wait staff are very friendly and know their menu. Their Seared foie gras is a must for us! We will be going back soon.

Beware "Sharing" Plates

By 595dougs |

We ordered a cheese plate, an appetizer (cauliflower), and two main dishes. We expected that the two main dishes would arrive simultaneously; we did not express a desire to share our main plates. Be forewarned...whether the kitchen was backed up, or the staff assumed we were sharing, the main dishes were served about 15 minutes apart. When we expressed concern to our server ("where is our second main dish?"), the response was dismissive and condescending. "We are a sharing restaurant; if you didn't want to share, you should have said so." Since when is getting two main dishes at the same time a special request?? Very disappointing.

Love the wine list!

By twintp |

We have not been here since just after they opened and what a mistake! We were a group of five and it was perfect that it was restaurant week- two of us chose from that menu and the other three from the regular menu. Fear not tho: you can order an item off the restaurant week menu even if you don't do the entire meal. IT WAS FABULOUS! Of special note is the sausage entree and the cauliflower side but to be honest, of the 14 items we ordered, there wasn't a disappointment at all. Meats were perfectly prepared. Bread with the three olive oils was a perfect accompaniment - and they keep bringing bread so you can dip it in the other dishes as well. Service was efficient and food came out at a good spacing so you didn't feel overwhelmed but also you were not waiting for the next dish. The wine list is wonderful as all the wines are spanish - so it is easy to try something you don't usually get a chance to try. We will be returning more often to be sure!

Poor service and overpriced

By Gabi E |

Very overpriced. We wanted our meat dishes to be well done and the waitress told us that the kitchen will not cook anything well done. Then, several of the dishes we wanted were sold out early but the restaurant was not even that busy. We were never asked if we needed another drink and our water didn’t get refilled into the end of our meal. In addition, they only have one kind of beer which it is understandable because this is a wine place but still the waitress did not even know the name of the one beer they sale.

Delicious Tapas

My son and I had a delicious meal here the other night. The food was first class as was the service and the surroundings. Loved it and would gladly return.

A reliable choice for a special treat

By beasleys-mom |

I've eaten at The Harvest Vine many times over the years and it virtually never fails to please me. It's a tapa place--so small plates. We had 8 or so. Of course they vary. Some are simple, familiar and wonderful (the beets, for instance). Some are more seasonal (the shishito peppers) but always welcome when they appear. And some are new to me. (The shrimp dish on the menu the night we were there.) All of them are very very good. You'll have a favorite--or at least each of us did. But it was all excellent. Do not forget dessert. The flan (always some sort of flan) is amazing. The oil oil cate (often some kind of olive oil cake) is great . And every other dessert we've had is terrific. Our table of four got four different desserts and were not disappointed at all. Nice wines by the glass or bottle.

superb!

By Faraz D |

I missed eating Basque food in Birriatz.....but found a superb alternative right here in Seattle. Thank you so much for the most amazing and delicious food, superb wine selection and over the top service. I wish I could eat that goat cheesecake every day...or the heavenly sea bass meal. Yum yum yum!

Don't miss the Tortilla Espanola

By nanajean61 |

This was our first visit to the Harvest Vine. The waiter offered advice and suggestions to help us order. We ended up with a meal of delicious and varied tastes. I'd order any of the dishes again and I would go out of my way to have the Tortilla Espanola. There was a good selection of wines at fairly reasonable prices. We were seated in the cozy and peaceful lower diningroom which we liked very much.

Might be the best in Seattle

By Homjohn |

I was highly impressed with the faultless service, beautiful Spanish bistro ambiance and food. We ordered 6 tapas and two glasses of wine for just over $100 well spent. Let's start with dessert - flan, best i have ever had and i have had lots. The beets dish and fideo noodles with prawns restored my faith in Seattle restaurants. The cheese appetizer was the best since my meals in France. Green beans with tomato sauce proved fresh and delicious. Rabbit meatloaf encrusted with a thin crunchy surface served over chard was a good try at something different but fell short of the rest of the meal. I loved the crust but the rabbit and chard lacked taste. Overall, i still give it five stars and look forward to my next visit.

Authentic and One of the BEST in Seattle

By Mary Jean C |

I came here a couple of summers ago with friends and it instantly became one of my favorite restaurants in town. I have since been here numerous times - for lunch and dinner, brought many friends there. They have never disappointed. The dishes are creative and delicious. Here are some of my favorites (see photos): Phenomenal beet salad - Paper thin slices of golden and red beets topped with minced garlic, sea-salt and fine Jimenez sherry vinegar - a knockout in flavors as the fine vinegar and sea-salt bring out the sweetness of the beets. Spanish chorizos served with dark chocolate shavings and served with toasted baguette - simple and decadent. Fresh anchovies - fresh with a drizzle of olive oil and minced garlic served with toasted baguette - sometimes served over roasted red peppers (as in photo). Either way - yummy! Chocolate-injected figs - YES - it's true and as good as it sounds. The noise level upstairs is typical bistro style and due to the small space, you may have to wait if you didn't make reservations. However, there is a larger, more intimate, quieter atmosphere downstairs . During the summer, there is also outdoor seating upstairs. Service is stellar - warm, friendly wait staff who can make good recommendations. The wait to get your food is not long - even on busy weekends. Wine selection - Interesting, reasonably priced and complement the dishes they serve. One interesting note: The first time we were there the waiter, a lovely older gentleman, kept saying it was authentic. A good friend of mine is an executive chef who trained in Michelin-starred restaurants and is Basque in origin. I asked him about this restaurant and he verified their authenticity of cuisine and quality. So, I felt doubly gratified with the experience - not only was the food delicious, but they have tried to stay true to the region. Very HIGHLY recommended.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic

By MEAK |

Didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us at the bar (after being turned away from another restaurant). This place was noisy and lively. Couldn't have been more fun. Juan Carlos was the most accommodating host. He chose a wine that was tastier (and cheaper!) than our first pick. We let him pick our menu. Watched the chefs do their stuff. Every plate was over-the-top delicious. What a memorable evening. Juan Carlos you are amazing- fellow Gemini!

Fabulous food and friendly service

By SkiBumwantabee |

Tucked away in the charming Madison Valley neighborhood- only a $9 Uber ride from the waterfront. Terrific wine list featuring Spanish wines- we asked the owner for suggestions and were pleased with his choices. Started with melon and jamon and tasted 3 other plates - each better than the one before. We sat outside on the tiny sidewalk seating area which was fine as we had no reservations on a Friday night. There appears to be a larger room in the basement area where the host was seating everyone who had made a reservation. We will come back as we enjoyed it very much. It is a bit more $$$ than other tapas restaurants but I felt it was worth it.

what a great treat

By Pamela P |

We are from Seattle but have moved to wenatchee. what a treat to have such wonderful food in an intimate setting. Harvest Vine was suggested by good friends who enjoy wonderful food and we weren't disappointed. The thin sliced beet salad first rate, Spanish meats unique and flavorful, grilled pork shoulder melted in our mouth and scallops flavorful. The Columbian rustic bread kept coming to help finish the sauces. And room for dessert, the flan light and smooth. We'd come back.

Extremely overrated and not at all filling for the price

By jgytraveler |

We went here for a nice dinner as a group and were recommended by the waitress to order about 1-2 dishes per person. That sounded fine, and then we look at the menu and see that each dish ranges from $15-$25! Again, $25 is not bad for an entree at a fine dining establishment, but for a tiny tiny tapas plate that can be eaten in about 4 bites!? It's ridiculous for the portion. Yes, the food is well presented and tastes okay (not amazing), but I could get a $50 prix fixe dinner and be completely satisfied and full. We ended up paying about $50 per person, left, then ate sushi at another restaurant for about 1/4 the price =) Don't be fooled, there's much better in this foodie city. I'll never come here again.

Fantastic Tapas Restaurant!

By Kari R |

The Harvest Vine is fantastic. Sitting at the bar gives you a view of all of the cooking and food preparation. It is such a fun atmosphere. If you are looking for a more private or quiet dinner, then you can sit downstairs which is very cozy. The food is absolutely some of the best I have had in awhile. Everything was cooked perfectly. The wine list is also great. I had the Emilio Moro 2006 and really enjoyed it. An expensive restaurant, but well worth it if you are looking for a nice restaurant.

Nice, but nothing more

By Guy M |

Went as part of the Seattle Restaurant week, so maybe it's downgraded a bit (which isn't cool if that's the case). Resturant is nice, both upstairs and downstairs, service is great and they greet you in with a nice little soup drink. The options we took were nice, but not really special as I anticipated based on reading the reviews here. the seafood stew was average- had much better with resturants I just walked into. we took a few Spanish salads, one was good and the other was just ok. Overall, average

Excellent Tapas, extensive Spanish only wine list

By karinnat |

This is the place for tapas in Seattle! Delicious! The wine menu is extensive - a great place to discover Spanish wines. 6 small dishes (including 1 dessert dish), 3 beers, 1 aperitif, 1 dessert wine, and one small pot of tea for $100. This might be somewhat pricey but the flavors and freshness of the dishes are well worth the price. The grilled squash was amazing but first place went to the heirloom tomato salad which tasted like heaven...this was a seasonal dish so go NOW if you want to try this winner. Enjoy!

yummy food - slow service

By RamblinGal |

Food: great tapas, using seasonal produce, lovely olives, nice wine. Service: Restaurant is understaffed, Service was friendly but clueless! Asked us about 4 times what we had ordered. Meal took 2 1/2 hours and I couldn't get the somollier to give us the time of day, so we opted for wines by the glass. Would definitely go back, but with the knowledge that the restaurant is not professionally staffed.

Spanish/ Basque Gourmet Food

By DonnSea |

This is a foodie's local favorite. The owner is Basque and he prepares wonderful small plates of high quality food. They have a wine cellar you can dine in as well-just check on reservations for that.

Amazing meal

By SeattleKirk |

My wife and I live in Seattle so this is a place we have eaten in many times, and it has always been terrific. We had out-of-town guests visiting, so we made a reservation and took them there last Wednesday night - 8-20-14. My son and his girlfriend joined us as well. Since there were 6 of us, we had the opportunity to order more things. The style of this place is to order plates to share. I have heard it referred to as Tapas by some people, or pinchos (Basque version of Tapas) but that is not a fair description. we have been to Spain a couple of times, including the Basque Country, and the food here is like no tapas or pinchos we have eaten. Our friends, who just came back from Spin said it was better than anything they ate in Spain, and they are "foodies". Although we had a little help from the waiter in deciding what to order, most of the items we picked for ourselves. We had something like 11 different things, and every item was fabulous. It just kept getting better. We started with Padron peppers, which I make myself, but theirs are better - not sure what they do, but they were great. Then we had Heirloom tomato salad (I don't even like raw tomatoes and these were fabulous). From there we went on to some sort of peppers stuffed with cod and potatoes which had an amazing sauce. The confit duck, the venison, the Iberian pork, blood sausage, and then some amazing deserts that we shared, we all totally amazing. Each had it's own sauce and all were very different. I can't say enough about this meal. All of us put it on our list of best meals we have eaten. I can't say enough about how great this place was. The ambiance, the service, the wine and especially the food were incredible. It's a bit out of the way in the Madison Valley, not in downtown, but in a very nice area that's well worth the cab ride.

Food is almost too pretty to eat!

By SeattleEcc |

I checked out this place for the first time recently and it definitely lives up to its reputation. On the one hand, this place feels like a neighborhood eatery and yet the food is very upscale and beautifully presented. In fact, the food is almost too pretty to eat. The small, open kitchen is very inviting and it is fun to watch all the chefs hard at work. I would definitely go back.

Great Tapas Experience in Seattle

By Onthebacknine |

We had a reservation for an early dinner in advance of other activities that evening. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and given a choice of a table or seats at the bar. We chose the latter and were treated to excellent service by Juan Carlo and a great show by the talented chefs. The early nature of dinner affected our appetites a bit, but, after a complimentary amuse, we greatly enjoyed the octopus, the seared prawns with romesco, the grilled venison with mushrooms and licorice sauce and the star of the evening--the iberico de bellota. All were excellent. While we didn't personally experience them, the vegetable dishes, e.g., the cauliflower, the spinach and the mushrooms all looked great as well. Coupled with enjoyable Spanish wines, it was a great meal.

Our Favorite Restaurant in Seattle

By Sn |

Whenever we visit Harvest Vine, we end with biggest smile on our faces. The restaurant staffs are friendly, food is just amazing visually and taste-wise. The wine selections are great, you can't go wrong with the pairing suggestions by the wait staff. Even though the price is on the higher side, we never felt that it was overpriced for what we get from this restaurant.

A Great Variety of Flavors

By nobadtrips |

This is a restaurant to go to with friends as the dishes are designed to be shared and with more people one can sample more dishes. Each dish was large enough for the four of us to have a reasonable sample, meaning a couple of bites. It is of course possible for each person to order his own dishes but this is not really the spirit or intention of the place. There are seafood, fish, meat, vegetable and dairy dishes to choose from. All that we had were excellent. My only criticism was that all our dishes had quite a bit of oil in them. I would have preferred some with less oil. Still, the flavors were delicious and varied. The atmosphere is very pleasant with the tables spaced well apart for privacy of conversation. There was a good selection of wine. The service was excellent and included clear descriptions of the various dishes. Our waiter was not intrusive but clearly aware of our timing. He gave realistic advice about the quantity of dishes we needed to order to have enough but not too much food to share. Desserts were also shared and enjoyed. There was no pressure on us to finish although we had arrived early and had stayed a long time. Although I consider this restaurant expensive, it was definitely worth the price. This is a place that one would go to once in a while as the food is rich and specialized.

First visit, not last

By Glen K |

We had a great experience at this restaurant! Our server, Paige, did a fantastic job in giving us dishes that exemplified the restaurant and the cuisine of Spain.

Small intimate space upstairs and cozy with more room downstairs Very good food.

By Alec D |

I had not been to Harvest Vine for years...So long that I believe that they have remodeled several times in my absence. The downstairs is much larger than what you see on the top level when you enter. We were there during restaurant week. 3 courses for $32.00. Which is a great value. The duck was excellent, as was their flan.

Great Food, even better atmosphere

By ferrell_cat1 |

Really love this restaurant. Try to visit each time I go to Seattle. The atmosphere is wonderful. Alomst like an old spanish house. The top floor is open with an open kitchen. Around the open kitchen is a bar, great seating. Floor to ceiling glass doors that they open for fresh air. We usually are seated dowstairs (larger parties). Great wine selection. Order the Paella!! You will need to call ahead though since it does take time to make. You also have to pay down a deposit, but worth it. You can select ingredients or have the Chef select. He selected rabbit and sausage for us. Great treat. They also have a tomato salad with heirloom tomato and olive oil, my favorite dish.

Very nice but VERY expensive

By Luce G |

We went as Harvest Moon had been recommended by Spanish and South American friends and we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and pleasant and the place itself is a little gem...small upstairs with a real Spanish bar feel then a slightly more formal dining arrangement downstairs although it wasn't in the slightest bit stuffy. My friend and I chose a very nice bottle of Muga rioja - one of the more reasonable wines on the list at $68 - and 7 plates of tapas between us. The plate of cured meats (jamon serrano, lomo and chorizo) were absolutely divine, as was the mushroom dish and the chocolate pot dessert. The other dishes were 'as expected'...they were very tasty and perfectly acceptable but didn't blow me away...unlike the prices! For such small dishes of food the prices were extremely high. The squid in particular was very overpriced at $18 when all it consisted of were two baby squid on some beans. The bill, including service which was not included, came to just over $200 which, in my mind, makes this the kind of place you could only come to for special occasions. I would like to end of a positive note though as we spent a more-than-pleasant 3.5 hours here enjoying good food and wine in delightful surroundings and were never hurried by the staff who were attentive without being intrusive.

Brunch - it isn't dinner!

We love dinner at Harvest Vine and decided to try it for brunch this trip. Brunch is completely different from dinner, which caused us to seriously over order. Every dish was delicious, it's just that too much went to waste because we failed to understand the difference from the evening tapas menu. 1 dish per person is plenty for brunch, but don't miss the spectacular cinnamon pastries. Service was excellent, as usual. I will go back!

Fabulous food

It's restaurants like Harvest Vine that remind you why you want to go out to eat ,to explore what great food should taste like. Tapas style eating . Some dishes are very small but tasty like their Gazpacho but others like Albondigas (meatballs ) allowed four of us to savor a scrumptious sauce. The mushroom dish was excellent. However,We thought the roasted pig was rather over priced for 5 slices of meat. Scallops (2) pieces was great. Order the bread service at $2.50 for endless pieces of baguette to sole up all the sauces. The chocolate mouse cake large piece that 4 of us split was a great way to end a wonderful meal.

Great in every way

Friends who live in Seattle wanted to try this restaurant while we were visiting. I will definitely go back. 4 of us ordered 8 dishes since everything is served tapas-style. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful. Scallops with butternut squash were the 2nd best scallops I've ever had (1st best at Il Contile in Italy are a long way to go!). Everything was perfectly prepared and every bite was wonderful - including all kinds of things I might not usually order, like pork shoulder, oxtail, squid with vermicelli cooked in squid ink, smoked cod . . . and my flan dessert was positively heavenly. Almost as good were my husband's walnut torte and our friends' cara cara orange and cava sorbet. Our waiter recommended a very good winej and I can honestly say every one of us enjoyed every bite and can't wait to go back.

Great Spanish restaurant in Seattle

By K T |

Harvest Vine is located in Madison Park area in Seattle. It's a bit far from downtown, so you need a car, or taxi/uber to access the restaurant. It's Spanish tapas food with great atmosphere. Good service and good wine also.

Excellent Food and Atmosphere

By Josephina_Dotolina |

We went there with friends. Food was very good and so was the service. They need to use a better method for tracking the taps items orders by table. We realized after leaving that a tapa order never made it to our table. It would be nice if there was a printed checklist of items ordered left on the table. Then the items can be crossed off as delivered. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Loved it! Great food, fun environment. Finally good tapas in Seattle!

By Matteo B |

Finally some good tapas in Seattle. I loved the ambiance and the food was great. We sat at the bar, just in front of the open kitchen and were able to watch the cooks work. Everything we had was good. I particularly enjoyed the thinly sliced tuna with fried marcona almonds and the fried peppers. The shrimp skewer with rice was great too and you can't go wrong with the cold cuts. Finally the pulpo alla gallega was very good, but the best part was dipping bread into the remaining "sauce" (olive oil, salt and smoked paprika). Overall I'm looking forward to coming back for more!

Fantastic Food

By Rainbowman-Hawaii |

This is a tapas style restaurant and we enjoyed taking our time while we sampled the wonderfully prepared dishes. Good selection of vegetables, seafood, and meat. We enjoyed all of our dishes, and were especially surprised at how delicious the creamy corn soup turned out to be. Fresh bread, olives, tapas, and wine.....we went home very happy! We didn't have dinner reservations, but they were able to seat us at the wine bar downstairs immediately. The staff was friendly and we saw all the dishes being served downstairs as the bar was the final staging area, which gave us great ideas of what to order.

Very Good

By AKD04 |

All the dishes we ordered were really good. Special mention for the almond dessert! Save room for it. Cozy dining room and great service too.

You gotta go there, spend some money and enjoy the tapas.

By Rodolfo Y |

Tthe service is just plain normal, nothing overboard, regular casual people serving you. Which for me works better than pretentious/ostentatious servers. The tapas were just awesome, try the any of them, they were all fine, ask for a good glass of wine, also the plate of Olives were awesome to start. I liked sitting on the bar, so you actually get to see how they prepare everything. I started ordering some stuff to start from the Menu, I ended up watching the Cook preparing the tapas and asking him to prepare one for me, so it was a visual, nasal menu to choose from.

First time here, won't be the last for sure!

By thevinoman |

Had dinner with a friend here last night, got there early at about 6pm. Was welcomed warmly and seated promptly, even though we were quite early for our reservation. Very casual, laid back atmosphere, and I would highly recommend sitting upstairs at the kitchen bar. The staff was fantastic, very friendly and warm, and timing of drinks and dishes was flawless. I won't go into a lot of detail here, as others have pretty much covered everything, but I can't say enough about the quality of the food. Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Great Spanish wine list. Definitely let the staff recommend dishes for you if you have any questions. Great experience.

Excellent!

By Mark B |

Excellent albeit expensive tapas in Madison Park. Great room downstairs for a large get together. Imaginative and tasty tapas and fun to watch them make them if you can get a seat at the bar.

Good

By Abdulrahman Alhaidan |

The best place for tapas in Seattle. I’ll repeat that statement. This is the best place for tapas in Seattle. Go and you will have a great experience.

Good, but not at the top of my list

By tiggerhunt |

I read all the rave reviews, and perhaps that set my expectations too high. The food was good, but nothing I'm going to rave about. We had the squid, the beats, the pork & potatoes, and the cod. None were offensive, but nothing stood out. I would have liked to have seen the squid grilled. The ambiance is very nice - small little area for patio seating. It's right on the sidewalk, but it's not a busy street. The downstairs is quaint, but I prefer to dine outside whenever possible. The service was excellent - our server was very knowledgeable about the food and how it was prepared. All the wait staff was friendly and our glasses never went empty. Given the abundance of choices, I probably won't return.

A trip to Spain in the heart of Seattle

By KBB |

We met up with friends and shared several plates. Despite the plates being 'small' it wasn't long before we were very full. Intriguing flavors and recipes with a truly 'wine cellar in the middle of Spain' feel.

Very Nice Workplace Dinner Party

By dunadan |

My wife's workplace hosted a late holiday party at Harvest Vine, and the setting, food, and service couldn't have been any better. Our group had reserved one of the two large rooms downstairs in the wine cellar, a lovely setting for a group dinner. As we arrived we had our pick of wine and beer, and over the next two hours we were presented with a four-course meal of delicious foods. We started with plates of Spanish salamis and cheeses, with bread, crackers, and some fruit spreads and nuts. The creamy sheep's cheese with some chorizo and fig spread on a slice of baguette was magical! That was followed by plates of thin-sliced beets (golden and red) in olive oil, which was used to dip the remainders of the bread in...so delicious! Next came two rounds of fish, veggies, and meats, with trout, creamy garbanzo beans, venison, pork, beef, and mushrooms. Every dish was amazing, but my favorites were the chickpeas and pork, "grilled acorn fed pata negra pig with panadera potatoes & cider sauce"--wow! By this time I was super-full, but then dessert showed up, slices of chocolate cake with whipped cream, an incredibly rich super-chocolatey finish to an fantastic night of food, friends, and laughter.

Small plates, huge taste.

By Anna_Maria39_11 |

Another great restaurant in the Capitol Hill area. The menu is based in the flavours of the basque region of Spain. As with great tapas restaurants the chef is able to concentrate the flavour and textures of the food into small portions allowing us to sample many different items. The goat cheese and spaghetti squash jam was a highlight and we fought over the last bite. The basement has two sitting areas, one of which is a more private room (not wheelchair accessible by the looks of things). The lighting and atmosphere is subdued. The ground level is well lit and large windows facing the street and the busy open concept kitchen. Depending on your intention for the meal and availability you may want to choose sitting up or down. The online booking through resy worked great. Parking is on the street so you may have to search or take a ride share and enjoy a glass of the excellent selection of sherry available.

Romantic Restaurant and tapas

By DiDi |

I love sitting either upstairs or downstairs when on a date. However, the last time I went to this restaurant, I found it not nearly as friendly as in the past.

Excellent Basque dishes; definitely small plates

By PeterBrink |

Overall our two couples delighted in the pure Basque and Spanish flavors. The thinly sliced heirloom tomatoes in olive oil/sherry vinegar/garlic were superb. The padrones were tender and just the right piquant. Excellent red wine. All winners except the pedestrian gazpacho and having to pay extra for bread. Very good atmosphere and low sound level.

Sublime tapas

By snmw |

I felt like I was in Spain. Perfect tapas. Superb cured meats. Grilled cauliflower to die for. Incredible flan with amontillado custard. Terrific service. As others have commented, it IS indeed a little pricey, but you can't argue with the food, the ambience or the service. We'll be back soon!

Quite romantic

lovely ambiance, especially downstairs for couples. Upstairs you get to watch the chefs at work -- which is quite interesting

My favorite in Seattle

By ferrell_cat1 |

This is my favorite place in Seattle. I visit every time I am in town. Great restaurant, not far from downtown Seattle. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The main level opens into the kitchen, so you can view the chef's and food prep. The walls are also garage doors that open on nice evenings. The downstairs is my favorite, lots of group seating and family style tables. Now to the food! The food is tapas style (smaller portions), which is great for sharing and trying more items. I had the heirloom tomato salad, prawns, pork tenderloin and also the beet salad. They also have these spicy peppers...some are mild, some are spicy so it's like a surprise :) The wine selection is also great, different regions...should be something for everyone. They also have Paella, which is wonderful, but have to order ahead of time since it takes awhile to cook. The chef's selection on the Paella is also a good way to go. Enjoy!

Good food, good wine, good time

By Curly916 |

We met some friends for dinner at Harvest Vine. I have been wanting to try this place for years and am glad I was not disappointed. We started with the section of cured meats and a plate of 4 cheeses. All were fabulous and the cheeses were paired well with quince paste, candied nuts and a squash preserve. We had garlicky shrimp, wonderful mushrooms, tuna on toast, delicious saddle of rabbit on rice and amazingly tender venison. The wine list is all Spanish but with excellent selections in a wide range of prices. Service was great.

Excellent all the way!

By Sue W |

This was my first visit to Harvest Vine, a restaurant I've wanted to visit for years - and it won't be my last. I went with 3 friends during Restaurant Week and we ordered from the special menu so that we could try several items. The food was delicious, all of it - perfectly done and flavored. Personal favorites - the beet salad (red and golden), mushroom risotto, baguette with olive oil tasting, flan. The service was very good, and leisurely even, which doesn't usually happen during restaurant week. The ambience is cozy and feels like you might actually be in a cellar restaurant in Spain! Definitely a thumbs up from all 4 of us. (HV serves beer and wine only, so I could not get a martini - but found their wine list had excellent offerings and the staff were very knowledgeable to help with a choice.)

Anniversary Dinner to Remember

By Pineapple9999 |

Leave your tots at home and take your deserving spouse to dinner here! The warm atmosphere, stellar service and delicious tapas sold us on our first visit. We WILL be back!!!! Our waiter even comped our dessert (we were there for our anniversary) so we could splurge on dense, flavorful espresso after dinner. Mmmmm.....Harvest Vine....

rustic

By fotokaren |

The place was loud and busy, but the food was excellently prepared and had some unusual spices my american pallate wasn't used to. Yummy!

Superb, intimate dining

By Chandra V |

We had dinner at a table in the wine cellar/lower level. We did not have reservations on a Monday night at 6:15 pm, so did not sit in the small upstairs/street side seating near the open kitchen. This worked out excellently, as it was much more quiet in the lower level, and there were two big windows for natural light. The stone walls/floor and full wall of wine bottles made for a cozy setting. Our service was outstanding and our waiter, Dennis, helped us with a Spanish wine selection. The small plate tapas were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Outstanding flavor combinations; probably the best spinach that I have ever eaten. Vegetarian options were available. We highly recommend this restaurant. It was a pricey tab with wine, five shared tapas, dessert, and one coffee... and completely worth it.

Unexpected delight on a rainy Sunday

By KRB81 |

We stopped at Harvest Vine while passing during the Sunday Brunch. What a great place. We sat at the copper bar watching the chef and crew expertly concocting savory Basque tapas. The staff was professional but friendly and the surroundings were cozy and inviting. We plan to go back for dinner soon.

Great atmosphere, great...

By Daydream64882 |

Great atmosphere, great food, and a wonderful wine list. But it's a bit pricey. Not the place to go if you are on a budget.

Delicious Raciones

By jwbeach11 |

Our first meal at Harvest Vine can best be described as gathering all the plates we really enjoyed in Spain at one restaurant. We loved the Spanish tortilla wrapped in Serrano ham as well as the fried cod balls! The dry-cured meats plate was great, as was the assortment of ice creams we tried for dessert. We are excited to bring family and friends here.

Pushed out the door

By Scrumptious |

My husband and I had been coming to this restaurant for years, have recommended it to many and had always enjoyed it. Our last recent visit it was my husband's birthday and it was always a treat for him to dine here. I let the manager and chef know it was his birthday and they pretty much rolled their eyes and explained how it seems to always be someone's birthday everyday. How deflating! I get it, you're in the hospitality business. It must be annoying to always try to make an extra special small gesture for guests that choose your restaurant for their special occasion. Any small gesture would have been appreciated but nothing of the sort was considered. I wasn't asking for anything free, a candle, a small "Happy Birthday" muffin, anything would have been nice instead of the immediate feeling of resentment. We had friends join us for dinner as well and we had a great time visiting with them, enjoying the food and wine as usual. It was a week night and not very busy. However, before we were finished, we were brusquely given the bill with no inquiry if we desired any more wine. We had easily spent over $300.00 in a little over an hour yet we felt rushed to finish our wine, cease our visiting and exit the establishment so they could flip the table. Mind you, like I mentioned before, there were still several empty seats available. Unfortunately, this was a major disappointment. It's too bad some restaurants become so focused on flipping the tables, making revenue as fast as they can and ultimately rushing the customer's dining experience. When the fare is a little more than your average restaurant, I had hoped for a better dining experience all around. Sadly disappointed and this restaurant has definitely dropped down our "favorite" list.

One of my top 3 favorite...

One of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Seattle.

Out of the way tapas gem

By AnnetheRaven |

One of my favorites here. Casual counter upstairs, intimate cellar room downstairs. Somehow they keep the service level high with all the running up and down they do. The foie gras is always a treat. Anything meaty is very good. Also liked their version of a tortilla with alioli.

Way too expensive

By KENduSud |

The food is good but the portions are like appetizers size so the check is way too much (4 small Gambas : 20 Dol) Service is not a the level : the waitress doesn't come enough to the table, meals took like 30 mn to arrive and never all together ! We had to share every meal to be able to eat at the time ! The only positive : the Wine is excellent.

Good for dinner or snacks

By work4fun |

I've eaten a long, drawn-out, delicious dinner here, and just stopped in for wine and snacks. Both times impressed with the food and service.

Loved it.

By Nkbojangles |

We enjoyed everything about this restaurant - the location, ambiance, food and service. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who was also our server. He recommended a few dishes for us, all of which we enjoyed. Our bread plates and our water glasses were never empty. A very enjoyable experience, would definitely go back.

Ver good

By Mike F |

A great tapas restaurant with a bar area where you can watch the meals being prepared. Some unique menu items including octopus served over a sliced potato. The heirloom tomatoes were served with an oil that was outstanding.

missed the mark

By Barbara L |

We have been coming here for years but really disappointed today. The usually fabulous little cinnamon buns were just a bit under cooked and lacked the customary caramelized crunch. The eggs flamenco were bland and the perfectly poached eggs were raw whites as well as yolks.Food wasn't awful, but missed their usual mark of excellence.I hope this was just a rare off day.

Overrated

By o p |

Not only were the best items we ordered just ok, one was simply, well, gross. I love fishy fish, like mackerel, sardines and anchovies, but this cured tuna dish tasted like bad salty sushi. And as with most "tapas" styled places, we walked out spending a ton of money and still really hungry.

Delicious Spanish tapas

By Arielle S |

An 18 minute drive from downtown Seattle, but delicious tapas! Table was a little small for 4 people considering it was a tapas place. Service was friendly despite several mistaken attempts to remove our food before we were done. Would recommend the beet salad, and grilled octopus!
