Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai food in one place...

By Traveltheorient |

This place has a very extensive menu. You can order Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai foods. They appear to concentrate on Vietnamese food though... The ambience of the restaurant is pretty good...

Vietnamese Pho, Texas Size!!!!

By MTYERV |

My wife, my mom in law and me, visited this place yesterday for a quick, and light lunch. Since we are still in allergy season, there is a lot of OTC remedy ingredients flowing inside our body system, so we thought of a nice soup for lunch, just to balance up a little. The attention is great. They speak multiple languages, even "Poquito" Spanish. Their menu is very extensive, but has a lot of colored pictures, and these start to activate your taste buds and the sound of your stomach asking for immediate attention. Since it was my first time, I went for the option at the top of the menu. I don't remember the whole name of it, but its nickname is "P1". And this is a great idea!!!! You just go by these and all the personnel knows what you are talking about. Before the Pho arrives, your waiter will bring a big plate filled with soy bean sprouts, cilantro and basil. All is very fresh and ready to eat. Then the Pho arrived. I ordered the small version, which has a distinctive Texas touch, size wise. The bowl is BIG, so you are sure you will walk out with a happy and satisfied stomach. P1 has different ingredients swimming in it. Very thin slices of beef eye of round, and beef flank, beef tripe, beef tendons, sausage, and noodles, lots of them. I ordered rice noodles for mine, but you can choose from egg and rice noodles for your soup. I started with the spoon to get the meats together with the Pho, which tastes great, but after a while of spooning, I decided to switch tools and put the spoon to rest and work the rest of the bowl with a Fork!!!! This way I could eat most of the chewable ingredients, which as you might know, become more difficult to fish as you are getting to the end of your meal. My wife and mother in law, ordered I think it was the W9. Is a soup that has several friendly sea creatures swimming in it, such as shrimp, squid, and fish balls. These last are the same as a meatball, just the protein source changes. Both my wife and mom in law asked the waiter to sort out the squid, but it was denied as the mix of seafood is prepared already. However, and this is something to point out, they do "art work" on the squids. So these look like a vegetable stick, while you are expecting to see the mini version of the big tubed animal with tentacles. They also do something similar with beef tripe. These look like snow flakes. By making this, I think they make these flavorful ingredients more "easy-to-watch-before-you-eat". The overall experience was very good. Soups are around the $9 and $10 dlls per each small version, and they are pretty loaded to make them worth. After the Pho, there was no space left for dessert, so I owe it for the next visit. Also, they offer beef, pork, chicken and seafood main ingredients for your Pho. So next time you are craving for a soup that has good ingredients that either moo, oink, chirps, or swim in the ocean, you should stop at Heavenly Pho. Enjoy!!!

Awesome Food!

Had dinner with my wife and this place rocks! It is under new management and they are doing good. Even though it was full, service was on point and food came out fast. They have beer and wine selections also. We had the beef pho and it was awesome. The owner recommended a traditional Vietnamese salty fish rice - WOW! I have nothing to compare it to because the flavor was so unique, but was delicious. I’ll definitely have that again next time. Highly recommend.

The name kind of says it all

By Deb S |

Our first visit was for a friend's birthday so we were able to try a variety of things. Everything was wonderful. First, the restaurant is aptly named -- the pho is indeed heavenly. While most pho seems to offer pretty standard variations of meat additions, what makes the pho stand out here is the broth itself. Wonderful. Complex. Delicious. We'd also tried several appetizers and noodle bowls, all of which were very tasty and ample with obviously fresh ingredients. We returned several weeks later and found the food equally satisfying and well-prepared. The wine list is very basic but also very reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Let's keep this local spot in business!

Name says it all

We've been enjoying Vietnamese food for over 30 years now, from overseas to stateside. In my opinion this is simply the BEST Pho in the city. The broth is excellent with just a hint of cinnamon and unless you are really hungry, a small is more than enough. My favorite is the BBQ pork and my wife's is the chicken. It comes with all of the side condiments to add to the broth. We are regulars and the staff have always been friendly. Their fresh spring rolls are worth a try as well.

Always great

Already visited half a dozen times in the last couple months. The food has always been amazingly good. You definitely need to try the spring rolls and chicken wings. If you order apps, only order the small Pho or you'll be taking home leftovers.

Great Restaurant

By Sydster13 |

I love this restaurant. The atmosphere and the vibes are very soothing. It's always clean, quick service, and great food. I recommend the Pad Thai or the Chicken Pho. Portions are great for the price as well.

Worst service ever

By Mostafa K |

Our server was rude and she had no knowledge of menu. We had to leave the restaurant because of her bad behavior and rudeness!!

Great lunch at Heavenly Pho!

By bruce k |

While looking for a place to have lunch during my work day, I found Heavenly Pho on a web search of the area. I placed an order to go, and it was ready by the time I got there. Very friendly staff, and the food was exemplary. I recommend the vegetarian spring rolls for an appetizer. I also had the vegetables with tofu stir fry, which was a heaping portion, and a cup of Thai iced tea. The food was hot and fresh, and the service was great! I hope next time I can dine inside.

Very rude hostess

Terrible service. Hostess made us move from our table after she asked us to sit wherever we wanted. She was very rude. This is exactly restaurants go out of business.

What can I say

By zellnerje |

We went for a Saturday lunch. The food may have been great, but there were some patrons there with screaming (high piercing) and running around young kids. Management did not do anything to get the parents (at least two families and one being Asian) to control their brats. We told mgt they were going to lose customers if they let it continue. I finally went over and told the parents I was wearing hearing aides and that their kids were disturbing for me. It took 10 more minutes before they did anything. We left.

Amazing lemongrass clams!

By Jill G |

I've eaten here three times now, so this is a combination review. The beef pho is standard good and generous. The bun with the grilled chicken and shrimp is also good. The rolls that they put in the bun are too large/thick for my preference, and I don't really like their taste. They are much more like eggrolls than spring rolls. The pork bahn mi was sooo good, had lots of veggies (jalapenos, carrot, diakon, and cucumber), and a mayo blend. They have a pate and ham one that I thought about, but the picture on the menu looked like deli ham, so I decided on the pork. I really liked it! The MAIN thing I go back for here is the lemongrass clams with shrimp chips appetizer. It is DELICIOUS! It smells SO good. The last time I went I was with two people who were very unsure about the clams, but they were drawn in when it was put on the table, and then we ate every last bit of it. That dish is one I now crave, and the bahn mi will back up the craving. This is on the way to becoming a standard choice for my group.

Heavenly

Love this place. It's one of the top Pho places on my list in San Antonio. The food and herbs are always fresh. My favorite dish is Pho with gilled beef. The wait staff are friendly and it's never packed to the point where service is affected. Highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for good Pho noodles.

Great place for Asian cuisine! Clean and modern

By Jasminefairfax |

My husband I ate here Sunday first time trying this place out. I was in the mood for soup so I ordered Brisket Pho. Also ordered Vietnamese Egg rolls , shrimp rolls and spicey chicken wings. It was delicious and spot on as far as Pho goes and the appetizers. We have driven by this place on the way home from Church so many times and never stopped. Glad we did this time. So if you are in the mood for Vietnamese food stop in and give it a try, you will be surprised.

Worst Vietnamese food ever!

By 78258 |

I ordered the spicy Vietnamese beef noodle soup (bun bo hue) and it was the worst one I've ever had. The meat was so chewy and the broth wasn't tasted as what "bun bo hue" supposed to taste like, and also too much MSG that left a very bad taste in my mouth after eating and made me very thirsty. Will never return again. Worst Vietnamese food ever!

Absolutely the BEST pho in Texas !

By mrmoparhemi |

Absolutely the BEST pho in Texas . I am more of a BBQ guy but my wife introduced me to PHO several years ago . My concept of authentic pho is in my personal experience and I have tried many thru out the country . This place is 100% consistent every time and we dine here 1 to 2 times a week ! Our server TONY treats us like royalty and he knows our food orders by heart . We can’t help but feel like family . The menu is vast like many authentic Asian menus but there are pictures to help you choose so there is definitely something for everyone. The calamari appetizer is to die for and my personal favorite is the P18 grilled beef pho

Good food, horrid service

By Fong Y |

So I would take my family to this restaurant when they came to visit. The last time we went, the service was horrible. I had asked for a thai tea and it never came but they sure did charge me for it. The food is good and my family enjoyed the food. But I had ordered a regular Pho Tai which usually comes out quick in most restaurants that I go get pho from. It was the last to come out and I had to ask repeatedly for it. I think they kept taking it to the wrong table but I am not sure. As for the service, if you want service, don't go to this restaurant. Like I stated above, I had asked for a thai tea which never came out. But I had also gotten a water. Let's just say they never brought either. I have complained to the waiter, and then the waitress, then to another waitress. My sister even asked for a refill on her water, and that never came. I am just glad that I brought my own water bottle of water and was using that to drink from.

Heavenly Pho

Great place for pho. The sandwiches could have more meat though. Good tasting authentic Vietnmese food.

Best Vegetarian Pho in SATX

By Laura R |

Best Vegetarian Pho in San Antonio!! We go there every time my daughter comes to visit from college in NYC... she says it’s better here!

Awesome service

By Brian S |

While our experience dining on pho was worth a review, this one is prompted by the service we received from Tony. We are not routine pho eaters and must be mindful about gluten, so we particularly appreciated recommendations from Tony and his awareness of gluten ingredients on their menu. Because of his guidance, I am sure we enjoyed our food even more.

Overall Pretty Good

By Ibarrera |

This was our fourth time eating here and our first time ordering delivery. Two things I learned: eating in results in better food and their driver isn't too personable. I regret tipping him almost $6 on a $30 order. The beef on one order went largely untouched after we tried a few pieces and discovered it was mainly tough, gristly scraps of meat. Positives: The pho is delicious and if you order it for delivery they do an excellent job of packaging al the yummy components of it. The spring rolls are something you can easily get addicted to and vegetables are always super fresh.

Very GF Friendly

Used DoorDash for delivery. Delicious food!!!! We will definitely order again. The food was very healthy and gluten free. We had Pho and Orange Chickenand all were wonderful!

safe for newbies

By evelyn s |

We recently had out of town visitors who had some time to grab a quick lunch before proceeding to the airport. This restaurant had a variety of choices from Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and even Sushi for lunch. Everyone ordered a different dish and everyone was satisfied with their dish. The Phad Thai was seasoned right, the Pho was delicious, the Sushi fresh and the Vietnamese noodle bowls were fantastic. I surely will take visitors there. Safe for them to try new dishes.

The best food in San Antonio

By Stacy L |

I had been here serval time, fresh foods and healthy. I had order Pho P2, Pad Thai , Vietnamese sandwich, Asian chicken wings, Crispy calamari... All very yummy, I can wait to come back..

Excellent food and wide variety

By Ryan F |

Have been here many times and it's consistently good food. Service varies but the food is always dependably tasty. For you foodies: Try the Wings with Fish sauce. Pho is good but can be a bit bland so get the extra meat or veggies depending on your preference.

Pho and spring rolls

By antonioj93 |

When I went to a conference in San Antonio I went to the restaurant for authentic Vietnamese food and I was not disappointed. The restaurant was small and the food was great. The pho and the spring rolls were great. I would definitely recommend this place..

Favorite place to go!

By Audrea D |

I’ve been going here for at least 4 years. The staff is amazing and the food is some of the best I’ve ever had. The Pho broth is authentic, not made from a powder. It is bone broth. They also have a veggie option if you are vegetarian. Everything I have had here has been delicious. The Pho, egg foo young, bahn mi, sesame chicken, EVERYTHING. The calamari is really good!

The Best

By Foodie L |

With a name like "Heavenly" you have to try at least once, right? I'm glad I did! This is my go to place for Vietnamese cuisine. I've been here a dozen times this year, passing up a couple other Vietnamese restaurants that are closer to me in distance. The Pho is addicting (now I see what all the fuss is about). The Combination Fried Rice, Pad Thai and Curry dishes are all awesome!

as spicy as you like

By zellnerje |

Started with pho first time we went, and have switched to vermicelli bowls. I have learned to mix in MY right amount of hot stuff for MY taste. This last time I had beef as the meat, though pork or chicken work just fine.

Relaxing atmosphere

By Annmarie |

Took grandchildren for dinner. Friendly, nice decor! Long waits to order, food came fast. Very nice portions and food was good, not excellent. But service was very slow, had to ask for drink refills. Waited awhile for bill and leftover boxes. But all in all would return.

Won't go back

Food was mediocre. Very annoying service. Waitress had to take our phone to the manager to show 15% off coupon. LIke we were making it up. Won't return.

Pho is good

Pho is very good! Huge portions. Kid's Pho is better size for me :-) their chinese food options are very tasty too!

Very good Chinese food

By fashionphotographer1 |

Very good Chinese food. I don't eat pho, but the rest of my family do and they like it very much. The bubble teas are good as well. The service is always good and friendly. We tend to eat here a lot.
