Disappointed

By Tom S |

Very disappointed in our late lunch. Ordered 2 sliced brisket sandwiches, one vey lean. Both were very fatty meat with a very overwhelming fatty taste. All this with French fries and 2 waters for $47. Will not be coming back. Tried Black’s in deep ellum - it was fantastic!

Pretty Good BBQ - But a bit sweet for me

By John J |

Had heard much about Heim's BBQ and was interested in trying. Four adults and two kids, all hungry for BBQ. Service was friendly and clean up service was great and attentive - very unexpected as typically at places like this you are needing to bus your own table. Heim's did a great job taking our stuff for us throughout the mean and cleaning the table before anyone else used it. Kids hot dog with fries was probably enough for an adult. Same for the kids corn dog - huge corn dog (didn't care for the breading though). Adult meals were huge as well and hard to finish. Chopped brisket sandwich was massive. Their French fries are perfectly cooked and delicious. The green chili mac & cheese was a bit hit as well. Onion rings were barely ok with way too much batter we thought. Sliced brisket was very good as were the bacon burnt ends. Only disappointment is their BBQ sauce, which is very sweet in our view. It really overpowered and took away from the flavor of the meat. There is much better BBQ (e.g., Pecan Lodge, Cattleack), but this was not bad and very convenient to Love Field. Heim is pretty expensive as BBQ goes with a 2-meat plate at $20, Kid's Meals at $10, and a Brisket Sandwich at $14. Rating wise, this was probably a 3.5 on the food and 4 on service but rounded to a 4 overall.

First visit to Heim's

I was impressed with how clean the place was. It looked too clean to be a barbeque place. I had my doubts about the quality of the food. It was just too clean. when we received our order, I was shocked again with the quality of the food. Amanda who took our order was very cheerful and patient and did not rush us, This was our first time being there but not our last.

Definitely going back on our monthly lunch rotation

We aren't close to Love Field, so we forget Haim's is close by and then we forget about their wonderful baked potato salad, the jalapeno cheddar sausage and the sliced brisket...how could we have let this drop off our regular rotation? It's just so good!

Excellent First Impression With Great Texas Tastes

By The_Case |

My brother had told me many times about Heim Barbecue and how much he liked it. So, it had become time to visit the one in Dallas, as I had just picked up my brother at Love Field, which was right across the street. We both went in and ordered our meals. I ended up ordering sliced brisket with regular Texas sausage, loaded baked potato salad, and spicy pinto beans. Needless to say, the beans were quite a bit spicy and a bit overpowering, but what really stole this show was that baked potato salad. Ho-yahhh! That was different, but the tastes coming together worked out very well (the bacon, chives, sour cream, and the cheese), and that side complemented my meat choices nicely. Great smoked taste on the brisket and also the sausage. I even got to sample a little of their vinegary-sweet house sauce. I got a Dr Pepper to wash all of those things down. This visit was worth it, and it will give me another BBQ option whenever I go to Fort Worth (where Heim has two other locations). Of course, I'll be back at this Dallas Heim outpost again soon. I need to try one of their sandwich choices. This place has Texas written all over it, so 'cue lovers need to check it out!

I must first say Heim's is not closed on Sunday they are open 7 days a week from 11 am to 9 pm not sure why TripAdvisor has Heim's closed on Sunday The food is just wonderful and the place is kept extremely clean the bathrooms don't smell like bathrooms The employees are fundabnal always smiling and willing to do want ever it takes so that you have a wonderful experience Kathy, Ashley and Gabe where just gave me outstanding service they were excited and showed in their work I hope management allows them a free or reduced priced meal all the employees work hard and it shows in their performance so treat them like you value them

Bacon Burnt Ends…all you need to know.

By JD_LBC |

If you’re around Love Field, Heim is an excellent option for bbq. The Bacon burnt ends are a five star option and among the best bbq out there. I also had sausage, beans, potato salad and onion rings which were good.

Be warned. Meat runs out early.

Got there 6pm for dinner. Meat had run out other than sausage. Disappointing. Was our last night in Dallas so had to stay. Food was fine. Wine was expensive. I guess you’re supposed to have beer. Missed our chance to have proper Texas bbq.

Do not go

Terrible dried out brisket, lousy sandwich, almost $50 for 2 people for a serving of flavorless brisket w/no sides and a chopped beef sandwich, 2 iced teas. Service staff as about as pleasant as could be considering they having to sell such bad food.

Great Barbecue!

Some of the best Texas Barbecue I have ever eaten! It was cooked to perfection and was fork tender! Nice atmosphere, the staff was extremely pleasant, and the sides were equally as good as the meat! Next time at Love Field, stop by before your flight!

A must try place when visiting Dallas.

I used to go to Dallas Love Field Airport frequently for business trips, and I stop by every time I go. The fatty brisket is excellent and you can sit both indoors and outdoors.

Won’t be going there again

Ordered the brisket plate but since the person with me only wanted one side I was informed if I would pick one side they would put it on his plate and just charge me for the brisket instead of the “plate”. I got the twice baked potato salad. When the metal tray covered with brown paper was set in front of me I was stunned. On a large metal tray there were two slices of brisket, half fat half barely cooked meat. His had brisket and pork with both our sides in paper containers. There was a decent amount of both of the sides. But after one bite he slid it away, I tried to eat some of the potato salad but it was dry and not very flavorful at all. When we finish eating the fat was half of what was originally brought out for meat servings, neither of us interested in eating the undercooked blobs. Even then my brisket was dry, had to assume it had been sliced and left waiting to be served. The BBQ sauce was good…. But not 40 dollars… 4.00 per slice of dry fatty brisket gives me no reason to back

I stop in for just the friendship of the employees and the food just makes it even better

The staff is just awesome they are vary attentive always greeting with a friendly smile and the food is to die for my brother who lives in Houston, Tx always eats at the Heim's across from Love Field Airport that's just how good it is So stop in and say Hi

Good bbq

Enjoyed this place. We visited here on a food tour so can’t comment on the prices but the max and cheese, brisket and burnt ends we tried were all tasty and satisfying. The draft beers also come in HUGE goblets and were a pretty good price for how much beer you actually get. The vibe of the restaurant is also pretty cool with a huge open plan and almost looks like an old converted church or hanger or something like that. Good stuff. I wish some of the bbq sauce options we had were a bit more spicy though but I also like intense spice so what can you do ?

Don't miss this BBQ gem.
