I was here last night for the first time with my sister and her co-workers celebrating a work accomplishment. It was about 10pm, while my sister was in the restroom, a guy took her chair. I told him politely that we were using that chair and he completely ignored me. I walked over to him and asked him for the chair back, again, and he said "You're outta here!" He turned out to be one of the bouncers. I then asked to see a manager and he very rudely refused to get one and kept repeating, "You're outta here!" Chalking it up as a loss, I told him I needed to close out with the bar and proceeded to do so. I then informed my sister of what was going on, as she was just getting back from the restroom, and as I was telling her I was leaving, the bouncer physically PICKED ME UP and started carrying me out of the bar. He then proceeded to body slam me at the front door on the way out. It was completely unnecessary and everyone in the bar was shocked. I'm a bartender for a living and I'll never be back here. I'll definitely spread the word on how terrible of a place this is. DON'T GO HERE!

We had a very nice dinner at Henry's last night. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and helpful. The fish tacos were amazing! The live band was great too.

We returned here after having had a very good experience on our past visit. Unfortunately, it was less positive. A number of menu items were not available which was even more frustrating as we had not been told about this. I asked for fries to be substituted by soup for my meal, something that has always been fairly common in N America in my experience which was done, however I was charged for the soup, I would have happily paid a supplement for what could be considered a premium side, but to have been charged for at the menu price with no consideration made not taking the fries seemed unreasonable - when I asked the waitress, no concession was forthcoming. They then ran out of the beer I was drinking, with the waitress saying I could have the part glass, but would be charged at the full price. Not surprising her trip was minimal. Food was okay, as shame that one persons actions can damage your view of an establishment.

We had a starter and couple of drinks. It is a nice restaurant to sit outside and watch the walking traffic on the main street. To be honest, many may be just as good. The waiters were not very attentive.

My boyfriend and I were out, first night in Gas Lamp we stumbled upon Henry's. We had a beer left and ended up right back at the bar. We sat in the corner and ordered some highly recommended food - chicken tenders and popcorn shrimp! We had Dan as our bartender for the rest of the night and he was awesome! Tentative, talkative, so friendly! Best New Year's Eve yet. Highly recommend šš¼

The pubs and bars in the Gas Lamp District follow a formula: loud, decent drinks, lots of craft brews, OK food, and cherry servers. Nothing sets this apart except the outdoor seating. Beware-smokers outside.

Turkey burger was excellent. Nice craft beer selection and excellent pleasant service. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals as much as I did.

Even I asked for pizza, I found funny this āTaco Tuesdayā that waitress told us. She was a really good girl, really nice with us. Food was also good, but in my opinion we had to wait a little bit.

The food here was excellent, good beer and a great location to watch people go by. I had a great Cobb salad.

In San Diego there are plenty of places where you can grab some drinks or some food. So it is just a matter of choice where you end up - this time for us was Henry's A pub on 5th Ave. where you can grab a bite if you feel hungry ... the menu has some options like short ribs, burgers, wings , so bar food. We were there just for the beers - some Guinness on the tap was the brew of choice. The atmosphere was good - nothing to complain, than live music started about 9 p.m. - a man with his guitar was entertaining the guests. So yes if you like live music you can try this place. Overall we had a good time - when in the area and you feel like sitting in to a pub - try Henry's it did work out for us.

Fish & chips, lots of burgers, salads, etc. are on the menu. Visited the Gas Lamp District checking out lots of restaurants. Having been to a few, we wanted to try something new. The brew menu was pretty good along with a full bar for other drinks. The waitress was helpful. It is good.

Ate on a Wednesday night and they were not very busy. Service was poor. Food was not hot when delivered to the table. Had to ask for silverware. Had to wait for refills on drinks. Food was not bad but overall the poor service overshadowed.

Great live music... good location and vibes... easygoing and smiling staff... We loved this place in Gaslamp and suggest it :)

as we were visiting downtown we decided on eating some fish and chips .. so settled down at henrys pub..well lit and pretty we settled outside the restuarant as the music was very loud inside we ordered nachos with cheese as the starter and also ordered a pizza with extra toppings and fish and chips the nachos were good and so was the pizza but the fish and chips was a disaster .... the plate came with 2 fat fish fillets and a heapful of soggy fries the fish had a thick coating of a mixture which almost tasted like a pancake mix the coating was raw from within so i could tell it was fried in very hot oil! the fries were sloggy and lifeless..... we had to ask for the sauces like ketchup and mustard for the waitress to serve it at the table sorry guys you should serve what you are good at and not food that makes you unhappy

We went for dinner on a Saturday night and sit outside to people watch. We ordered 2 rice bowls, a pizza and a chicken sandwich. Our service was horrible. Our waitress was very slow we had to go inside to pay because we couldnāt wait any longer Food was ok. The rice in my rice bowl was crunchy in spots. I would recommend going somewhere else in the gas light district

We stopped by on a Saturday night for a meal. We ordered buffalo chicken wings and Caesar salad. We would have liked a bowl of warm water or a wet napkin for our hands. Wings were good but only 8 for $12.50. Caesar salad was very good, compliments to the Chef. Overall a good night, service was just Ok.

Stopped here for something to eat. Atmosphere attracted us, it was busy and the food looked nice. I had the seared lemon and herb chicken and was one of the nicest meals I've had. We are on a fly drive from the UK so unlikely to be back in San Diego but would recommend this place for food

We stopped in here for a quick and drinks. We ended up ordering the bacon wrapped hot dog and fish and chips and shots of crown. The good was pretty good. Our waitress was cool. Friendly and attentive. She even started taking shots with us (3 out of our four rounds) which we thought was cool- until she bought the bill and announced that she was correcting the bill since she "went ahead and took off the 3 shots" that she had. What? No. WE didn't ask her to have shots w us! I guess we seemed like gullible tourists or something... this place has a cool atmosphere, chill vibe, etc but that shot episode turned us off. We got drunk elsewhere.

This place has a good variety of breakfast items, all race themed to F1 drivers, i.e. Vettel's waffle (awesome), breakfast burrito is great, just about everything I tried has been great. Bottomless mimosa are excellent. Other drinks I like there: Scooby Snack, awesome Bloody Mary's with bacon of course. The San Diego F1 group meets here on race days, to watch the race.

*DRINKS REVIEW ONLY* Not bad but not great. We came here to get some drinks for my bach when our first location turned out to be Covid central. Luckily, this place at tables outside (however, people start lingering on the sidewalk later on in the night so they are in pretty close proximity to you). Inside was another Covid fest so we definitely avoided going in there, unless we needed to use the bathroom. Just thankful we could find a place with seats outdoors and wasn't TOO crowded for a Friday night.

Nice bar with good food, really enjoyed the pizza, excellent service and nice patio for sitting outside and watching the people go by on fifth.

We waited 20 min to get into Henry's bar for dinner and drinks what a waste of time, Alex the sever was awful, so rude and the food, calamari was like rubber, and then the fish and chips, how can you make un cooked chips well they served them, what a way to spend a birthday evening, it was the worst mistake we made for the four days mini vacation in SD. Really give it a miss, lots of better places than waste your money here.

The waiter gave us menu and....did not show up. After 20 minutes of waiting we just left. Not sure about the food but the service is horrible

We ate here on 21st July, during Comic-Con while it was themed for the show āStranger Thingsā. The theming was great, and very detailed with the missing posters for Will, and the upside-down signs throughout. Our server was very nice, and the burgers and fish & chips we ordered were delicious. We would definitely eat here when we next come back.

We were here for happy hour and the drinks were super reasonable $2 corona til 10pm. Food is decent and the service was spot on for being a late night on Friday.

Each time we are in San Diego we make sure we have at least one meal here. We love sitting on the patio. Yummy food and drinks

We went on a Friday night, the fact that the pub was almost empty should have been a hint but we never got it. The food was not very tasty, and the service slow and technical. The prices were very fair, but we'd rather pay more for a better meal.

We came for a few during happy hour and we liked this place. Drinks were a good deal and staff was very friendly! Sat on the patio and people watched.

I was groped by some jerk, completely unsolicited and UNwelcome and guess who got kicked out? ME! Of course when I told my husband what transpired while he was in the bathroom, he was upset and confronted the guy. Shortly after, security approached us and kicked US out of the place and left the PERVERT who groped me completely alone. I'm so upset and disappointed that this place continues to perpetuate the rape culture that is so rampant in the U.S. and I hope this review helps to at least bring awareness to it. Like I said at the beginning, women please beware when you visit this place and know that if a situation happens to occur in which you're not comfortable, the security guards In this place will surely not back you up and you'll be kicked out on the street. I hope this review helps other women avoid the terribly unpleasant situation I had to deal with tonight. If I could post 0 stars on this place, I would.

Food here was above average but nothing memorable. Folks had pizza, pasta, burger, and tacos. The variety was very much appreciated. I had excellent company. Unfortunately, it was very loud and we could barely hear each other.

It was late, and we were out exploring the Gaslamp area. While walking, we smelled burgers, and they smelled good. We thought the smell came from the pub, so we asked for a seat. there was one table left inside. There was live music. I could not believe the prices. Burger, 3 cocktais, and fries were all $10. Each total was $61 after tipping. Yes, we split the burger and fries. All of it was really good. It was the cheapest meal with drinks we had since being in San Diego. I would definitely go back again.

This pub is a little gem in the Gaslamp Quarter! The staff are very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and great after a full day sightseeing. The food is amazing and at reasonable prices compared to other restaurants near by.

Came here for happy hour drinks. Beer and well drinks for $4 in the seaport area, not to shabby!!! Service was good and drinks were great!

My group and I were a bit rowdy for a Monday night, but our bartender was very personable. Before we left, he hydrated us up with water, and I have no doubt that it would have been a TERRIBLE next morning if he hadn't gotten some proper H2O into us!

Henry's is lively, with indoor as well as outdoor seating. It is in the Gas Lamp area, so a great walking street with lots of restaurants to choose from

We dropped in for a bite to eat and a drink. Service was good and friendly, big portions and the food was very good. Had fish and chips and burger, both good value. Maybe chips could have been hotter. Different sports on tv to keep punters entertained.

Although we enjoyed the food, the service was a little slow (must be a San Diego thing; every where we ate took a while). Our biggest complaint was the noise level, which made conversation difficult. There is outdoor seating but the night we were there was a bit too chilly to eat outdoors. Despite the noise, I can recommend Henry's.

This was our first visit to San Diego and therefore the Gas Lamp district. 5th Ave is quite a unique street as it is massively well served for bars and restaurant. We opted for Henry's and was not disappointed. Every aspect was good, the food, service and a great street level outdoor seating area.

This place was on the King of Happy Hour Event list and the Pork Baby Back Rib with Fries was delicious. They offered the $4 draft beer and I enjoyed sitting up at the bar. The place had a real nice feel to it and Happy Hour is my favorite time to check out any place so this checked the box for me.

We found the food to be very good quality and the staff very helpful and accommodating. Weāre both fussy eaters, so had a few exclusions, which were handled with a smile and the food was provided exactly as requested. It was relatively warm on the evening of our visit, so we sat outside and watched the world go by, which was very nice.

There are better places to get a burger and fries nearby theirs were just average. My husband along with several others at the table had various burgers. My husbands was a spiced up Turkey burger. Carl Strauss makes a better spicy burger and I am sure so does stone brewery which would not have been too far either. I had Chicken tenders which were not just over done but burnt. Plus the fries were odd tough but not crunchy. They were not good at all and over spiced. I was not the only one to complain about the spicing of the fries. Others at the table had Fish tacos and chicken both dishes looked average and did not have stellar reviews by those that ate them. All that said the service was delightful, the young woman was engaging and entertaining and gave us great service. Turns out she grew up in my neighborhood and recognized me. I was PTA President of the elementary school she attended. So a shout out to the good service.

I ordered a Pub Burger well done that was cooked to perfection. The fries were good as well. The waitress was nice, great ambiance for watching a game, hanging with friends,or Happy Hour. It's a bit of a walk from the Hyatt Hotel, but it's doable.

Pit stopped in Henry's on a Thursday, music was a good mixture, crowd was energetic, bartender was on point with perfect drinks. Plenty of seating and a dance floor. They have an outside seating area, for those who like to people watch.

We were visiting San Diego for the first time after a cruise and stayed in the Gaslight District. Walking around we noticed Henry's and stopped in for drinks and a snack. I had pizza and my wife had the fish tacos. Both were excellent. I had a Knob Creek Old Fashioned prepared just like I like it. All in all a nice evening and would definitely recommend it.

We originally went in to watch Game 7 of the World Series and Stayed for Dinner. Glad we did! One of the best steaks I have had in a long time and some great signature drinks from the bar. Excellent service from the waitstaff, plus plenty of TV's if you're a sports fan. I would highly recommend Henry's.

Food was pretty good. I had the fish and chips. Typical pub food. Decent selection of beers. We ate outside which was a good place to people watch.

The service was slow. We came in because of the good happy hour prices. $3 wine and well drinks. The food was average with good sized portions. The fries were cold but they replaced them when asked. Just your average dinner spot.

Had dinner here in the Gaslamp district in San Diego. The atmosphere is nice, they have indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the chicken sandwich. The food was great, but it didn't come without a wait. We sat outside and it was a Saturday night (8pm). It is a loud place, but I expected that. I would have given 5* if we didn't have to ask the status of our order after 20 minutes of waiting and no update from our waitress.

We never got to eat here. The host was not very friendly. We asked what the wait time was even though we were the only ones on line. She said 20 mins. I looked inside just to see what it looked like and saw a clean table. I asked her about it and she said they were backed up on getting food out. I asked if we could just sit at the table and she said 'we don't want you waiting at the table too long" (we would have waited anyway, right?) So, we put our phone number on the list to get a text when ready. We walked down the street and 30 mins later...needless to say, we never did get any text !

Wish we could have had the chance for more than a drink at the bar, but the wait thanks to con was far too long. The drinks were really good though, and the service at the bar was fast despite the crowd. They did it up as Jurassic Pub for con, so I imagine it's probably a fun place even without, since they went through all of that.

OMG the 5$ burgers were finger licking delicious! I am not sure if it was only a March deal but it was amazing. I had been here before on a Friday night when its more of the night life scene and was just there for drinks and that too was great, a very fun atmosphere. So this place to me is a perfect 10 food service and drinks are all perfect. The waitress that served us was very lovely and came around often times but not too often to the point of discomfort. Love this location so many good memories. We will definitely return on future trips to Gaslamp.

Good pub fare with a limited menu and fu activities. Participated in trivia. The turkey burger was surprisingly spicy.

My family ate lunch at Henry's Pub on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with New York Jet's Fans! Great atmosphere with big, comfortable booths. My favorite touch is that all of the flat screen TV's are framed in old fashioned, ornate wooden frames! The burgers are excellent, my chicken salad wrap was delicious, and the homemade potato chips may have been the best potato chips I've ever eaten!

Didnāt have a place to go for New Yearās eve after dinner. Walked along the Gaslamp area and thrilled to have gone to this place. Excellent, customer focused servers. Had a great Bar, food selection , dancing music, revelry too. Glad we came here!!

While visiting San Diego, we decided to check out the Gaslamp District. When our original stop was too crowded (Barleymash), we happened upon Henry's. It had no cover and an open table, so we decided to give it a try. They make a great Old Fashioned and the staff is friendly. Good Irish beers on draft too.

We ate outside this Gaslamp pub and enjoyed the people watching along with some fantastic food. The buffalo flatbread was perfect and the duck empanadas were a guilty pleasure. There are lots of places to eat in the area and we stopped to try many of them. Henry's had good food and good service.

We never even went inside, just grabbed two seats in the outside space, ordered our drinks and watched the world go by. The drinks were great and the service was good at the start and not so good after that.

I ate at Henry's Pub on a Wednesday evening. I headed there after seeing good reviews online. I sat outside and had a beer and then decided to eat. My server Lauren was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. After some deliberation I opted for the tuna salad, a good choice Lauren commented to me - it was one of her favourites from the menu. The salad that came out was way beyond what I was expecting. It looked fantastic and the tasted as good as it looked. I'm so glad I went. Good food, good service, and great people watching opportunities! Would definitely recommend.

Had a fun Friday night here great Dj and music! There was no cover charge. Would come back, great service. 5 green circles just because of great music set.

We were looking for a place to eat with our child. Gas lamp ( downtown San Diego ) is full of amazing restaurants! Every place we went into was either not kid friendly, long wait or more than we wanted to spend for the night. As we walked around for nearly 30 min. We enjoyed all the smiling faces and great city vibe! You know how you want something .. But don't know what you really want? It was one of those evenings... And then we came upon this pub! The staff outside was friendly and offered us a menu to check out before choosing to walk in. Then they handed our lil one a kids menu...quick glance and we all found something we wanted to eat. Sports was in the tv... Great music playing in the back ground, dim lighting and an awesome friendly staff!! We ordered: calamari appetizer ( OMG - if you like crispy calamari- this is a must)!! Skull candy cocktail - sweet and yummy! Fish and chips- Perfectly cooked!!! Flat steak- hit the spot with a glass of red. Fish tacos- I could have eaten another order!!! If your looking for a casual place with some good eats - then this is the place.

The food at Henry's is solid bar food. We tried the wings, a burger and a chicken dish of some sort. I thought the food was overpriced, but that seems to be the deal in the Gaslight District. Drinks were good and our waitress was excellent, smart and efficient.

It was a great location in Gaslamp. The salad I ordered would have been great if it wasn't drenched in dressing. It was so much I kept coughing every time I had a bite and I should have sent it back. I hate sending food back, though. It was different greens with berries and fried goat cheese. I added avocado for only a dollar and it was good. I ordered the hummus plate and added cucumber to the plate. It was good.

We visited the pub for stop two of a "progressive dinner" where we hopped restaurants and had beverages and appetizers at each stop. We had drinks and shared a pizza and veggie platter. It was good, not great, but the atmosphere was nice, and a bit quieter than other places. Would go back.

We sat on the patio, had a few beers and ate the brisket nachos, and a goat cheese salad. Friendly service and good pub food. I need to go back and have those nachos again!

Buzzing atmosphere and stunning interior this restaurant was an amazing find. Cool cocktails and tasty nibbles plus a varied menu and helpful staff. Do not miss !

had the fish and chips and a Guinness. felt like I was in London in the underground or something. people were cool and pretty friendly. had TVs and was spacious, didn't feel cramped at all. Down in the gas lamp district of downtown san diego.

Located in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarters, the Henry's Pub has both inside and outside dinning tables. I chose to sit inside for more space and quieter time. The following are my scores (1=worst, 5=best) for the restaurant based on one dinner experience: (1) Location: 5 (2) Food selection and quality: 3 (3) Service: 3 (people sitting outside seemed to get better attentions) (4) Portion of dishes: 3 - 4 (5) Pricing: 3 (6) Overall value/experience: 3 - 3.5

We ordered the Mezcal Of Duty drink and it tasted like cigarette butts and barbecue sauce. We politely tried to return it and were told we could not but could have 20% off. We requested the manager and he came over and was super rude and argued with us. Will never come back here again.

Stopped in for a beer and appetizer. We had truffle fries they were great. The restaurant was cute and great service!

Service was sarcastic and slow. Food was OK, but had to ask after side orders to get them. Live music was awful. Left as soon as we'd finished eating.

Whilst walking around the Gas Lamp Quarter deciding where to go for dinner, we walked passed Henryās pub. The place seemed pretty busy. As we walked in we were advised that they only had one table left which was situated close to the door. On the night that we visited there was a band on that was playing songs from the 50ās & 60ās. We accepted the table and started to enjoy the band. The attentive waitress came over and took our order and again, like most restaurants, there was way too much food. I had ordered a burger which was cooked to how I like it, there was way too many fries and I probably could have done without the side of onion rings!! I enjoyed the music, the food and the service. I would certainly go back to Henryās Pub.

Great food!! Poor service but the food is worth it! Sit outside and enjoy the people watching! Loved the meatball sandwich (lunch).

My husband and I went here for dinner, saw a good extensive menu on trip advisor turned up and they had no seats, they were busy so we sat outside and said we were happy to order food there. The waitress was so slow, there was a group behind us ordering nothing but water, not sure why the waitress bothered with them but we waited so long we gave up and went else where.

Roaming the streets of the Gaslamp District looking for a play to sit at the bar and watch some games and found Henryās Pub. Had the Fried Wings which were excellent. Cooked perfectly and crispy. Always put the sauce on the side so they donāt get soggy. Had the BBQ Ribs next and they were good, very meaty but a could have been put a better sear on them. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Friendly personnel, very good food, reasonable prices, this is a place to go to and to recommend to friends and family. Been there several times in the past few days. Brining clients from conference.

We stopped in here for a quick meal and a few drinks. The staff was friendly and engaged and I enjoyed the food. I had bacon wrapped shrimp with risotto as well as Cannolis. The food was tasty and obviously made on site. I would go back there. Overall. Good quick, inexpensive meal with good service.

We sat outside on a tall table. Great place to people watch. Table service for your drinks. Good choice of some different beers to try that my husband liked. Good place to stop for a drink. My husband had a large beer called Wreck Alley and thoughoughly enjoyed it.

We walked around the Gaslamp Quarter for a while before landing on Henry's for dinner. We chose to sit outside on the rail which faced the street for dinner, which was lovely for watching the street and all the people passing by. I had the seasonal veggie bowl with a side of garlic parm fries and my partner had the pub burger. My veggie bowl was plentiful!

We stopped in after a concert at Petco Park. It wasn't too crowded but the live music was too loud. The night before, the music had been great - so it's hit or miss. The staff was friendly and it's a nice place to grab a bite and a drink.

The food was fine and well prepared and taste good. The service was a little slow and lacked a level of professionalism. However, that may have been more of a fault of the management as they were under staffed. My recommendation would be if you have a better option, take it. If not this is an ok type of place.

Was visiting san diego with my girlfriend and we decided to stop by this place. The bartenders were all super helpful in recommendations and they even introduced themselves to us. Very personable and welcoming. They had a neat reggae band playing reggae covers of top 40 pop songs which was pretty cool. Check this place out

As written on my review last year - I mentioned we would return in 2016 and we did. This is a pub with a bar and lots of T.V.s with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff and manager(s) are so nice. We highly recommend eating at this pub (and watch sports. :-)

To start, and maybe this is common in the Gaslamp, but we note there was a 3% added fee to every check to cover business expenses. Again, I ask why don't these places increase the food of each item a smidge. I hate the addition of a percentage to the overall bill. Sat down and found out happy hour doesn't begin until 5:00. Should have left and gotten less expensive beer, wine, and we'll drinks all around. Menu is small and unimpressive. It is mostly burgers and just two entrees. The server was polite and responsive. A good place for a drink and snack with a good environment.

It was our first night in San Diego in a few years, our first time walking in the Gaslamp area together, and we were both injured and looking for good food and a place to rest up for the walk back to our hotel. We were really looking for seafood but ended up at Henry's Pub. We did have seafood, of a sort. We tried the bacon-wrapped shrimp (yummy and perfect portion size for an appetizer), I had the fish and chips and my husband had the bacon-wrapped hot dog. The staff were friendly, courteous and never very far away. Very pleased with our visit and we will go back.

This was my first time to San Diego, and we barhopped around in the Gaslmp district. We went to the much heard about Barleymash, which is on the corner in Gaslamp. Unfortunately, this place was seriously packed on both occasions me and my fiancƩ went. Good place if you are looking to meet people, and heavily socialize (night out). Next door is Henry's Pub which was empty when we went in (1:00pm- ish), but became crowded. The bartender 'Joe G.' was incredible. Super entertaining as far as sports knowledge, general conversion and attentive to his patrons drinking needs. Many bars in San Diego have TV's with games on, but i think they are just for decor because no one watches them. In Henry's they have multiple TV's a very nice bar and the games people actually want to watch on. Highly RECOMMENDED if you are looking for a lower key place, with a awesome staff and good food with reasonable prices.

We came to Henryās on Memorial Day for lunch. There were about 4 tables total. Not one of those with more than 3 people. We ordered a pizza and a burger and it still took 30 minutes for us to get our food. How many waiters does it take to perfect a drinkās orange peel? Three apparently. Thatās what they were doing instead of either checking on us to apologize for the wait or ask the kitchen what happened to our food. I understand a long wait when there is a crowed bar or restaurant but it was dead. On top of that the pizza had very hard thin crust and way way too much oregano. I paid an extra two dollars for ham. The amount of diced ham cubes was pathetic. Iām so glad I didnāt add more items. I ate one piece and my husband ate the other. Even him, a human, garbage disposal, wasnāt impressed with it. There are so many other places downtown.. go somewhere else.

this place was pretty packed. its a pretty small venue. there is one bar and not a lot of seating. the dance floor is pretty small. there is outside seating. DJ Antonio was AWESOME. he played 90's R&B/Hip Hop, Electronica, today's music as well. We danced for 2 hours straight. again, the dance floor is small so it gets crowded very quickly. besides the people bumping into you and couples making out in the middle of the dance floor, it was great fun.

Henry's Pub is one of dozens of dining options in the Gaslamp Quarter. We stopped for lunch. There is some outdoor seating. Menu offered plenty of options ranging from pizzas to sandwiches to salads and more. Drink list was good. Food was good. Disappointing it was not overly busy and we waited quite a while for food to come out. Service was a little slow but polite and friendly. With so many options I am not sure I would go back again but it is worth the try. Using the Trip Advisor scale I would probably give it a 3.5, between average and very good.

It was a nice open air place. There were TVs to watch the game. A bad setting up. The burger was good but the fries could have been cooked a little more. I wanted to try the bacon wrapped shrimp but the burger was more than enough. Maybe next time.

Great spicy shrimp tacos - light, packed and flavorful. Fish and chips were not greasy. Fresh fish. Service was competent and friendly.

My husband ordered the California pizza our first night here. The pizza was a frozen cheese pizza with avecado slices and lettuce on top. It was the worst pizza we had ever been revel! My fish and chips were ok- the fries were old and I could taste the cold banter inter fish. It was so disappointing!

I love how the outdoor seating is across for the old Yuma building. The wait staff was attentive and although we didn't have food there we saw some really good looking food coming to peoples' tables. The happy hour drinks are very well priced!

We were looking for something quick before we caught our flight back to DC area; decided on calamari and fish and chips. Both were so good; service was good!

Food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was attentive, inside and patio dining options. We were impressed with how they followed protocols. Just wish they had more SD/LA beer options

Kyle greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Great prices on our beers. Great atmosphere with plenty of TV's to watch sports.

The food was delicious! There was also a live performer accepting requests for songs. The waitress was terrible, however, and we waited quite a while for our check. She also never came over to see how we were doing. Many of the other patrons came and went, but they had other serving staff. I had the pizza which I split with my daughter, and my husband had a burger. All was very tasty and provided we had a different waitress, would definitely eat here again. Loved the atmosphere!

Great Football and Food Spot. Excellent bartenders who took really good care of us. Shout out to Elijah! I was just expecting okay pub food but the Cobb salad was so fresh crisp and delicious, I devoured it.

We visited on a Sunday when they have a pub quiz that you do using your smartphone. It was good fun! We had the hotdogs, which were nice.

We had a lot of fun here, enjoying both trivia and karaoke. We were visitors to the Gas Lamp district, and this place seemed to have a good group of regulars, who were very friendly. The drinks were reasonable and the service was great!

We stopped by Henryās Pub for an early dinner on a Thursday night. The waiters are nice and quick with the drinks and food. The food was average. I had the nachos and it was a bit disappointing. My husband had a club sandwich and he said it was good, but nothing out of the extraordinarily. However, one thing that annoyed us was the guy clearing the table - he came over to take our plates away while we were still eating....

Food was good. My wife and I liked the El Matador, which was a good semi-Mexican burger, and a Farmer Pizza which was focused on vegetables, plus onion rings. Service was fine by Brianna, the beer selection was decent, and the noise was fairly high. Some of the prices seemed high, like $16 for a one-person pizza. Henry's doesn't stand out as a special pub, but it is pleasant to visit and a good place to snack and drink.

The hostess greeted us with a friendly smile on the street. After reviewing the menu we decided to try this restaurant. I ordered the Lemon Herb Chicken which was fantastic! The flavors were rich and the presentation was just right. The waitress was sweet and pleasant. The atmosphere was dark and relaxful. The meal was perfect and it re-energized us for the remainder of the day.

Very happy to have landed here for yummy lunch. Friendly and attentive service. Very good fresh beer selection. Fair prices. Well recommended great location in Gaslamp.

Henry's was very crowded with a fun but very loud atmosphere. My fish and chips was good, not great. My Cobb salad was excellent, however, with tender large chunks of chicken and cherry tomatoes. The server, Alexis, was fast and on pointand helped me change seating easily. This is a nice pub with above average food if you like a party type crowd.

Had a good meal here with great service. Prices are also less than you would be charged in the seaport area.

The salad was great as the burger was just as good. Service was fine. The salad had fried goat cheese which was awesome highly recommended it. They have some TV screens in there to watch sports. And the restaurant is a little bit darker looking area.

Let us in early to have a seat. Great spot for at Irish Pub and a cold Guinness in the heart of the Gas Lamp District!

This was the worst meal i have had in the USA -linguine and seared scallops over cooked. Service was terrible as well we waited about 15 mins for drinks and anout 45 mins for our meal and the place was pretty empty. After eating their we understand why...

This is the first place on my trip around the USA that I have resented tipping. The service is non existent. In fact they treat you like you should be grateful they are even taking your order. But then I'm expected to give them a 15% minimum tip??? Makes no sense to me at all. It's a shame because it seems like a cool pub and it's in a great location. The food was fine. We had pizza and chicken but it's overpriced. I wouldn't bother trying it out. Too many other good places where they actually treat you like a paying customer.

As reviewed by others. Loud, service slow. Since it was restaurant week I got reservations, thought I arrived before my party and the guy at the front confirmed they had not arrive. I said I would go ahead and sit at the reserved table...my party was already there. Hey guys, the place is NOT that big!

We came and didn't know they had trivia. We had never played before but it was fun and moved quickly. The food was great, the service responsive and the beer cold! Great place!

It's a pub/sports bar with nothing special or exquisitely exciting about it. Good drinks, OK service. Didn't eat there, so I can say anything about the food.

Sit down and take advantage of the $3 well liquor. There was some excellent live music on the night we were there as well. Will be back next time in SD

Great service from the greeter to the server. Their ribs to start with is enough for a main meal and they were very very nice. My wife had the bacon wrapped hot dog , also very nice. The chips can be a little peppery but still nice. Worth visiting.

Very good pasta with meat balls. Good choice of craft beer. Nice and friendly service. Maybe I was too tired but the atmosphere seemed to bee very loud in terms of people shouting. Maybe the background music could be louder to balance the levels... I visited on Sunday night. Instead of live music there was some contest.

This pub is in the Gaslamp area. It offers inside and outside dining. We were just walking around the area and decided to have a drink there. Then we looked at the menu and decided to order. Really happy that we did. We really enjoyed the dining experience.

Food was really tasty, though fairly expensive, but the atmosphere was great! Definitely one of the finer eateries in the Gaslamp area!

Stopped in the pub for a beer and a quick bite to eat. The service was fantastic and choices of local beers was great. The main reason for the low rating was the food. Ordered simple calamari and it was way over cooked. Not sure how you can screw up fried calamari but this was not a good experience. If you can't get that right, can't image the rest of the menu is much better. Plenty of other choices in San Diego.

Great location and super service. From the outside I thought this would be great. Food was a disappointment. Ordered a hamburger and veggie plate. Veggies were obviously at least a day old - soggy celery and brown at the ends. Burger was poor quality meat. Staff were excellent, attentive and friendly but you knew they knew the food was below par. Walk a little farther or stay to safe things like french fries. Hard for anyone to mess those up.

Their pub burger is excellent. But do not get "Mexican food from this place. In Texas, this would just be another run-of-the-mill American restaurant that serves burgers and fried. It is in the trendy Orange Ave. but there is nothing really extraordinary about it. It appeared like they were under new management but I did not ask. Not highly recommended but, when your hungry, you have to eat.

Food was great , the cocktails too . The waitress however forgot we were there twice so our second round of drinks and the bill were really delayed other than that nice experience

While we initially stopped in to have a quick Guinness, we did sample their "fish and chips" and also their Shepherds Pie. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty and well prepared. Quite enjoyable and comfortable.

Nice table, good food (excellent nachos) and a happy hour. The service was friendly and we really didn't want to leave. There are lots of places to chose from on the street and I don't have anything to compare it to but I certainly would return.

Waited over an hour for food wasn't very busy paid for drinks then left don't bother plenty off other places near by

We went for brunch! Pet friendly, service marginal as I was given a half glass of beer, in a cognac glass. Who does that? They told me they had to change the keg, took 30 minutes and I still got a 1/2 glass of beer and charged for 2 large glasses. Food was ok, average. If you are a pub and stating you are "Irish" or Scottish you should have a tiny inkling on what that entails. Could be a fab location given improvement to service and draft.

My husband and I were in town for a baseball game, and we had dinner at Henry's Pub for the first time and had a very positive experience. The service was very good, and the food was well made. We both had the Wagyu Burger (it's huge), and I had an Ogopogo Harmonia Mango Wheat beer, which was excellent, and my husband's beer Henry's Hazy IPA HH. Our server Emily R was very attentive and friendly, and I highly recommend it if you are in town and interested in Pub food!

Live music was so bad that we would have tipped for them to stop playing so we could enjoy our meal. It took longer than the crowd would indicate to get our food. Food was acceptable but since none of our crowd were drinking alcohol, the waitress abandoned us after the food was delivered. No refills on our beverages were possible. We had to get up and go looking for her to pay our bill.

We discovered this pub while just walking down the main street. the outdoor seating is some of the best by the hotel district. People watching is a must! Good simple eats accompanied with great, energetic service will leave you with a fond memory of downtown San Diego!

Nice place with welcoming staff.Good location for people watching outside! My husband enjoyed the beer sampling tray. Food was good.

Was ok but just a bar. Music was pretty rubbish and boring. They could have made it worth going to but didn't want to alter from their norm. Manager was not interested

Wanted some local craft beer and food. Found this place on 5th. The grandkids were with and the food was fantastic. Beer Flight was excellent. Parking is impossible so we used a local lot and walked. Great shops and eateries in this area. This one had a Trivia DJ for those over 21. Great place.

My hubby & I needed lunch & randomly selected Henry's Pub (even though I heavily rely on Trip Advisor posts while traveling.) I had the superbly delicious strawberry/blackberry salad with baked goat cheese. I added grilled chicken & I LOVED every bite of it. My husband chose the 1/4 pound dog with bacon, cheese & fries & he enjoyed that selection, too. As I travel, I'll be looking for a similar salad.... It was really that delicious! Service was good & the restrooms are very clean. There are many, many restaurants & pubs in the Gaslight District to choose from. Don't happen upon there.... just go there!

Nice to find somewhere quiet to eat. Yes, itās the ubiquitous sports bar with lots of TVs. But, there were only a few patrons so quite subdued. Nothing to rave about. Just a good pizza and beer at a good price. Fitted out to look like an American version of an old English pub. Very dark wood. Moody. But not authentic. Good atmosphere.

The food is really good, but the service is slow. We went here twice while on vacation because the food was so good. The service is really slow however, so be prepared to wait. Itās worth it though.

I wanted a place to watch the Cubs playoff game which had started and while most places were packed with it being a Friday night, this place was not. I had popcorn shrimp which were bland and a pizza that was ok. My drinks were fine. And I had a good view of the game. It was fairly decent.

Visited mid December for a girls weekend. After walking up and down 5th street looking for a good place to eat, we decided on this place because of their inviting patio seating. Inside was closed for private xmas party but we were more than happy to sit outside. They had heaters to keep us warm. Server was great, food was good as well. I would recommend and would definitely return

Stopped by here because we got to San Diego late. Barely were able to get our order in before the reduced menu! We had wings, fries, and my husband ordered the surf and turf tacos. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, but the drinks were a bit pricey. They had a karaoke night, so avoid if you donāt like that kind of thing. (We didnāt mind!)

It's a pretty typical bar, however, the outside seating was great! We watched all the people going to the baseball game which made it fun!

The food was perfect. We ordered appetizers and lunch. However, after asking the waitress 3 times for our bill, we finally got it. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant that were filled with patrons, so not sure why she was a little slow.

- Highlights: First of all, we found parking right away and after a short walk we came upon this establishment. We looked at teh menu and saw that the prices were in the medium range: approximately from $9 to $26. We decided to sit outside. It has a pub -like ambiance and plays good music (variety of modern, 80s, and 90s). Our server was very kind to explain several items on the menu. That day (Friday), the Fish and chips was 1/2 price. It is a cod served with a homemade tartar sauce that was excellent. The cod was well cooked and soft; the batter was very light and crunchy. The Surf and turf burrito was very Spicy (we were warned). It is served with fries that are inside of the burrito. It is good enough for two. A nice pico de gallo came with it. - Lowlights: None that we could observe or experience. - TIP: You can eat on the patio on a nice day and watch the local fauna and flora pass by; it is quite interesting.

We called in here whilst walking around Gaslamp one evening, and we weren't disappointed. The service was friendly, cheerful and efficient, our server was able to talk me through the beer list, the food was very good (we both had burgers, very tasty), the beers were good too (I tried several), add in a good atmosphere, all at a reasonable price, and you have a great bar, well worth visiting

Stopped in just for a cold beer. Great selection and was able to sit right at the sidewalk. Would recommend for a place to have a cold one.

Had a great time celebrating friends birthday 5/23/2021!! Met some awesome people š. Loreli Great drinks and fun vibe!! Love the karaoke!! Will be back next time in San Diego!!

Located in the heart of the Gaslamp, Henry's is your typical pub with a standard pub menu featuring a lot of fried foods. What we had was OK, and the service was fine, but it was all just "OK."

We wondered in here by chance and I stumbled on a really great shrimp taco....wish I lived around the corner as we just don't get those in Canada! My friends had the mahi mahi which looked good. Lots of interesting beers on tap, friendly service and a very reasonable prince.

They call it the "CluckMoo"...A tasty deep fried chicken breast on top of a thick 8oz beef patty, with cheese, lettuce, onion, and a pickle. You need a big mouth to wrap your lips around this one. The key is to push it down first and put it in slowly...the reward is a magical and sensational new flavor of a Monsanto-like bio engineered chicken-cow hybrid species...this works! $16 with fries...good but its just a bit pricey.

$3.00 draft beer happy hour served by good looking girls, what more could you want.Happy hour is unto 7.15pm

On a recent trip to the city with friends we were looking for somewhere to get us in the mood for a night on the town and Henry's definitely does that. Good music with a good range of genres. The bar was packed with a huge mix of people and ages all having an amazing time. The prices are reasonable with some good deals on shots and cocktails. So all in all if you wanna put on your dancing shoes but in a relaxed environment where you're guaranteed to make new friends and memories this is definitely the place to go in San Diego.

Visited here on business trip with colleagues, nice place, chilled vibes, good food and beer selection. Staff were attentive, this place is going to be the new Liverpool FC supporters bar in San Diego start of next season. Itās located next to Barleymash, which was very loud.

We reached early afternoon after a long bike ride around the city and this was a perfect place for a beer and snack. The waters was excellent, offering us good advice about the beers and food. We just wanted a little something to go with our beer and the bbq spare rib starter portion was excellent. We regretted that we did not have the time to go back for a full dinner. A good place to sit outside and watch the world go by.

Decided to check this place out when walking thru the GasLamp district. Was not disappointed! Great service, and atmosphere. Actually , not as rowdy as other places around the area- as the World Cup was being played. I had their HOOLIGAN BURGER. Excellent- great burger with cheese, bacon (thickly sliced by the way), and a great sauce, along with their pub fries (seasoned and delicious). The wife got their FISH TACOS, served with their recipe black beans, and balsamic rice. Excellent beers also, good variety- good taps.

This is one of the slowest restaurants in San Diego. With all of the terrific places to eat- this is NOT IT!

The drinks were great, but the Seasoned Shrimp Tacos were really good too. Friendly wait staff. Will drink and eat here again next time in San Diego.

19 colleagues had dinner here before our meeting began. We received the right amount of attention from our server, with drink refills anticipated and happening quickly. We ordered many different items and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the berry salad which was delicious, dressing was fabulous! Goat cheese balls were very tasty, too.

If you are new to San Diego, or just have not been to Gaslamp in awhile, a good way to get acquainted is to take a Food Tour. We took a Taste of GASLAMP today, June 17, 2017. On today's menu at this English Pub, we had Finnish Peppered Salmon on a piped garlic mash potatoes and Topped with a creamy dill sauce. It was quite elegant Pub food!

Henry's Pub proved exceedingly noisy on a Sunday afternoon; no chance to even dream of discussing... The basic pizzas proved OK, the Ahi salad actually quite nice... The IPA selection was surprisingly limited for such a popular pub. The service was friendly and efficient.

We were heading next door for some dinner, but they had such a long queue so we eneded up here. Henrys pub was a great "accident" for a dinner. Good food, nice menu and smiley service. Definetely a great spot to dine.

Popped in for a couple of beers and some snacks early on a Saturday evening. Live music was on; playing covers, which was ok. It was quite busy with a mix of locals, tourists and groups from the convention centre. Bottled beer selection was good, as were the red wines. Snacks - chicken wings and chips - were good too. Service was excellent and quick. Everything was reasonably priced for the area too. Worth a visit.

Stopped off here for a quick beer on our first trip to the gas lamp quarter. First impressions are everything and we received a very warm welcome by the locals and the staff. They couldn't have been more helpful offering places to visit and they really sold us further that San Diego is fun and friendly place. If I lived here I would be proud to call this my local boozer.

We went there for lunch and it was great. The burgers are large and very good. The fish tacos had lots of fish and were also excellent. We happened to get the tacos half price as they were on special. Every day they have a different special. Great place.

Great easy going place with great drinks and lots of screens for matches. Bartenders attentive, lively place.

My husband and I stopped here recently while staying in the Gaslamp section of San Diego. It was a quiet night, as it was early, but we enjoyed the low key atmosphere after a busy day at Balboa Park. My husband enjoyed his thin crust, personal sized pizza while I gobbled up the Southwestern bowl served w salmon (the protein is an add on). I know, not typical pub fare, but delicious none the less.

We stopped by Henry's Pub in San Diego the day we arrive from the East Coast because it was near our hotel. The menu is limited, but the quality of the food was excellent! My husband had the chili bowl and I had the flatbread. They both were very tasty and generous portion. It was a very pleasant surprise.

After walking for a few hours in the Gaslight District my husband and I stopped in this little Pub and had a couple drinks out on the sidewalk. Waiters were nice and attentive.
Great Watering Hole
We only had drinks and some wings but the Pub was very enjoyable. Wings were great. Atmosphere was fun. Bartender and service was way above average, Great casual stop. One of the top bars in the Gaslight District.
