Top Flight! Philly's Best...

By bprybutok |

Top flight. Michelin material! Top proprietor/chef Amanda is creative and full of care for her diners. If you can get in, don't miss it. Every dish is a tour de force.

If your cool nieces created a supper club

By bdos |

It’s like your cool nieces made a restaurant and invited you over. The key to the food is balance of mouthfeel so you feel every precise element.

A truly unfortunate experience…

By Voyage27482689490 |

What a disappointment the entire Her Place Supper Club tasting menu experience turned out to be. The setting—a dimly lit, overly warm space with poor air circulation—already lacked the ambiance for a refined culinary evening. Yet, my hopes remained fixed on the food. Sadly, this too proved underwhelming. Not a single dish captivated or inspired; every flavor felt frustratingly familiar, bordering on the mundane. The chef’s narratives before each course set an expectation for creativity and flair, only for it to crumble with the very first bite. It was a letdown of the highest order—a truly unfortunate experience.

Great vibe, and outstanding food!

Great vibe, and outstanding food! Cozy little place allowing you to see the chef in action. Sauces were important on every dish. Cod was delicious and beautifully seasoned. Dessert was excellent, an oddly shaped creme puff that nicely ended the meal. Monday nights are great, allowing you to wait in line and generally be seated at 5pm if you show up 15-20 minutes early. Good service and atmosphere. Only negative is wine list which is interesting, but pricey and nothing with age of note.

I don’t understand the hype on this place.

Came because everyone seemed to rave about it and such hype built around this small place. Place indeed was small, thrombophlebitis-inducing and noisy. Their adding pop music full blast didn’t help. This is no romantic dinner for two but a rowdy Oktoberfest gathering with bougey food. One table kept yodeling, yes, every time the chef talked about what she was serving. Welcome to Philly sir. We chose the full dinner without wine pairing and without the extra dishes offered. The menu was heavy in vegetable and seafood with acid overtones from pickled vegetables to sour apple slices causing a ceviche effect on the bay scallops. The beef tartare was fair, coupled with deep fried sunchoke — nice touch. The pasta stuffed with duck confit was fresh with (again) a vinegar-ry sauce. Overall, the food was fine but not overwhelmingly good. There was a subtle air of pretense in the place that irked us, from the chef herself preaching her dishes to the audience to the wait staff that sneered when you asked for soda, as though Alice Waters was going to come out from the back and say, “hey look, I’ve brought Chez Panisse to life here in Philly!” In a way, this reference to that Bay Area cuisine from the 80s seemed contrived and trying-to-hard. Food was reasonably priced (95$ price fixe), the 20% tip built into the final bill, but we won’t go back. Let’s just have the real duck confit at Parc and the monkfish at Vernick Fish next time.

A Not-to-be-Missed Experience

Outstanding staff. Wonderful concept. And all the food was amazing. Though from out of town, we immediately felt at home. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. With each course the chefs explained the preparation. Highlights were the squash three ways and a magnificently prepared duck.

Our favorite Philly dinner

By PelleasPhiladelphia |

As much an experience as a dinner in a great way. A tiny 12-tables (ish) place in which you are truly hosted by the owner/chef who carefully curates your experience. Each course is served to the whole dining room together. It’s cooking as theater. Each dish was precise, filled with love and care, and super smart. The pastas are so tender and sumptuous. The latkes were a perfect nod to Chanukah. The sauce Americaine (seen so rarely) had that lobster depth you dream of and the quenelle transported as to a bouchon in Lyon. It’s a rare restaurant in which you leave feeling grateful.

Best Unique Meal in Philadelphia

By C6478YHcynthiat |

Absolutely delicious food, it’s a small intimate restaurant with visible kitchen that seats 24-diners in a house setting. I believe there were five very tasty courses, but they also offer two optional courses of which we had one: A frito of fresh fish which is the best bits of fried fish we’ve ever had - fro SF) They have a great wine list, great service, and a unique experience. The menu changes every two weeks, and you need to make reservations at least two weeks ahead. They do have cancellations. $95 Pre-Fixe + tip❤️

Bucket List Fabulous Dinner!

I haven’t left a review for anything in well over a decade. If a place is good, I return, if it isn’t, I won’t go again… This place is extraordinary! If you are a foodie, it’s a must! The care and prep for each and every dish reveals itself as you take each and every mouth-watering bite. My husband and I had the chefs counter seats, and what a show! It was a treat to observe the way big things happen in a tiny kitchen. Every dish was perfect, like a combination of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life, all in one place. I think they change the menu every 3 weeks or so, so we can and will be back. If Philadelphia had Michelin Stars, this place would have one!
