Everything was perfect. Food was excellent. Steaks perfectly prepared. Excellent house wine. Waitstaff was incredible. They made us feel like valued guests. Exceeded all expectations. None of the haughtiness of restaurants on the strip!

This place isn't cheap though compared to on-Strip alternatives it offers great value. It's a steakhouse, so that's why you should go. To me though, the best part about it is the cocktail menu, filled with drinks organized by different time periods in the US over the last 200 years. It's fun; it's delicious; it's somewhere I'll head back to again when back in town next time.

Tried going here before but couldn’t get in so made a reservation a couple of months out this time and glad I did! The ambiance was was sexy with low lighting and soft music, the waitstaff was incredible and the food was amazing! I especially enjoyed my birthday cookie dessert.

After years of hearding about this more locals-focused restaurant we finally made it there while on our last trip. The place was packed and incredibly loud, enough so that I just can't rate our experience a full 5/5. If it weren't for that the evening would have been much more enjoyable. Their extensive drink menu allowed us to explore a few different decades. The recommended calimari was amazing, my wife's linguini with clams good, and my rib eye cooked perfectly with great char and seasoned well. The sprouts and swine and wiskey shallot potato were both extremely good sides. The pasta and steak were happy hour pricing (1/2 off!) so there is significant value in visiting early evening which is why it is so popular.

TYPICAL AMERICAN RESTAURANT, NOT FREQUENT BY TOURISTS BUT LAS VEGASANS. AVERAGE QUALITY FOR THE PLACE, DECENT PRICES BUT ALWAYS EXPENSIVE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR ITALIANS. HEAVY COOKING...

We wanted to have dinner off the strip at least once during our stay. I saw the good reviews-soo glad I chose this restaurant! Our waiter was fantastic- super friendly and knowledgeable. They have a really interesting cocktail menu. It was hard to pick one. We had several questions about it and along with answering them, he added some history about the ingredients in a couple of the drinks which was interesting. Our steaks: Filets- 1 plain, 1 with blue cheese crust-omg!!, and a ribeye) were fantastic as were the sides we ordered to share ( asparagus, whiskey shallot potatoes, and sprouts and swine) The desserts were tempting but we were just too full! Honestly if I were doing a drive around to find a restaurant I never would have pulled in- looked dark all around. Even our Uber driver was like "Ive heard its great but looks a little sketchy". Once inside we loved the atmosphere. Definitely try Herbs and Rye!! Make a res a couple weeks ahead if possible.

Classic old-school steak house feel inside. Excellent happy hour specials with 1/2 steaks and other entrees. The cocktails were excellent as well as the steaks, apps, and dessert. Try the warm bread pudding! Our server was a pro - definitely make a reservation around 5-6pm.!

We have been trying to pop in here for several years. This is the first time we planned ahead and made a reservation! Everything was better than we even had hoped for! They were very accommodating with our special orders. The meatballs may be the best that we have had-and we have dined everywhere on the strip! The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We will be back again!

This was our second visit to Herbs and Rye....an off-Strip Classic.....it's an absolutely 'must' when visiting Vegas. We dropped in for a quick cocktail and were greeted warmly by Zack, one of three professionals behind the bar during a busy Saturday early evening. We ordered two different Bourbon-based cocktails which were expertly crafted and presented. If you are a detail-oriented cocktailer, please give it a try.....you will not be disappointed. Again, a big shout out to the passionate professional, Zack, who will be remembered long after the the last of the bitters fade. Cheers.

Excellent experience and highly recommended! We always try to find something new and local on our visits to Vegas and this is a winner. My wife is a French onion soup snob and this was one of the best. Service was option and I do love the the drink menu! We will defiantly come back when in Vegas.

This place is worth the reservation and/or the wait. Drinks, meat, lobster, vibe ON POINT. Don’t be scared of the drive off the strip and come here.

After a show on a saturday night, I went to Herbs and Rye because I heard about it on a TV show. On the net, I saw that there were happy hours after midnight on steak. I had doubts and decided to go see by myself. It is true! From midnight to 3am, the steaks are half price and are served with a free side order. They are awesome and slmost can be cut with the fork. You should try it. Take a UBER from the strip (it is a little far) and enjoy the experience! The drinks are really good too and they are strong. Not only juice like many places, so be careful! After 3 drinks, life was really great that night! Lol.

the wife and I visited this establishment for our anniversary last week, I had the Rib-eye and the wife the filet. We shared a side of whiskey and shallot potatoes. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were flavorful and more than enough to share. The service was first class and attentive. It was a wonderful dining experience, one that I would highly recommend. Get off the strip and check this out for yourself. I highly recommend reservations, as the place fills up fast and the 5-8 pm happy hour is not only for drinks; they have 1/2 price steaks!!.......HAPPY TRAVELS!!!

So good. The steak was good as expected, but the show stealers were the French onion soup and the sweet potato tots with marshmallow and honey. The service was excellent, attentive without harassment. A drink was suggested and was definitely spot on. I'm already planning my next visit.

This was a great experience with some awesome food. The reviews and videos lived up to the hype. Make sure to go during their Happy Hour for the half price steaks. The calamari appetizer was really good but the wedge salad was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

What a pleasantly surprising find. Herbs and Rye came recommended, particularly for its steaks and cocktails. Both of those were excellent. My fillet was perfectly cooked (outer char, medium rare). An affable bartender made a perfect vodka martini. The surprise of the evening was the pasta (cacio e pepe) which the server recommended. Pasta was homemade and perfectly al dente. I’ve rarely had a better pasta in the US but didn’t expect that at a steakhouse. Staff could not have been more friendly or professional. A wonderful off-strip find in Las Vegas. Highly recommended. Reservations are high may recommended. There’s a line at opening on Friday and Saturday.

What a tremendous meal. It’s not the prettiest restaurant from the outside but once you enter the building it’s cozy and “Old Vegas-like”. Service was spectacular and both of our cocktails were delicious. For starters, we ordered a caprese salad and shrimp cocktail. Yum and yum! For our mains, we ordered the happy hour filets with truffle max and cheese on the side. All were delicious! We would happily return.

Take an Uber or a cab and get here. Food was impeccable. Drinks were unique and amazing. The story of how the restaurant has succeeded is compelling. I've been to Vegas 12 times and this is the one place I'll now consider a must go.

Tonight is our last day in Las Vegas, we had dinner at Herbs and Rye. It was delicious. Their good and drinks are great.

Linguine and clams entree was on the Happy Hour selections ($22) and it was absolutely delicious and a wonderful choice. Fantastic bar staff and ambience! Can't wait to return!! Plenty for a second meal the next day. Parking was available.

We live in Las Vegas and it is our favorite restaurant by far! Always take friends and family here!!

Leah and the entire bar staff were outstanding. We came in from Minneapolis and wish so much we had a place like this at home. Music was on point. This will be a new staple for us when visiting Vegas!

My boyfriend and I had a late night date here. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, but best of all our bartender was the best. Franco helped us pick a dish and cocktails. He was friendly, outgoing, and very attentive. We will definitely be back soon!

Really enjoyed our dinner at Herbs & Rye. Very creative and delicious drinks and meal was great. Very well thought out and unique cocktail offerings from different eras. Be sure to make a reservation to enjoy half price steaks during Happy Hour.

What a great find, I scoured the internet looking for a nice steakhouse to take my wife to dinner to while we were on our trip to Vegas. I did not want to go to the inflated priced steakhouses on the strip. I was not disappointed with my decision, while there is not much going on, when you pull up out front, just a square building and large door. Inside is a cool, dark old timey type steakhouse and bar. The atmosphere was great, busy but not too loud. Great drinks, they had 4 pages of drinks 2 dedicated to different cocktails all separated by the era in which they were invented and 2 pages to beers and liquors. We took advantage of their happy hour from 5-8pm and got half priced steaks! They were both cooked to our desired temps, and had great flavor. My wife had the filet and I had the ribeye, each came with a side. We shared and both agreed the Brussel sprouts with bacon was our favorite between the 3 we ordered.

“Where the locals go for a great meal and fantastic cocktails.” We couldn’t agree more. We were given great recommendations for absolutely amazing drinks. Our steaks were seasoned to perfection and the sides were enough to share for two (asparagus, button mushrooms and whiskey potatoes and shallots). The winner of the night was a Nolet Gin Gimlet and an Amaro Daiquiri oh and the Crème Brûlée for dessert. Pro tip: Happy hour for great prices!

Can’t say enough about the quality the atmosphere and the service! Thank you to our waiter Mason for taking care of us, his time and attention was excellent

Spectacular steaks and classic cocktails in a speakeasy format. ALWAYS make a reservation and parking is limited but it’s well worth the trip. Service is great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the bar. It was happy hour so it was busy but our Bart was very attentive and proficient. We ordered our first drink of the menu. Both were delicious. For our second round we asked the bartender to make us something based on our spirit preferences. He totally delivered and all with a smile! We also enjoyed a flatbread. I’m going to be back in the area in a few weeks and I have already made a reservation for a group dinner. I know they are going to love it. Definitely make the trip!

While in Vegas after a week of hiking in Utah and Arizona I worked up a nice appetite. Stopped here at 5:30pm on a Thursday and it’s packed. There’s a good reason why - great food and great drinks. During happy hour, the steaks and mussels are half off. I got the filet mignon medium rare with their signature rub which has a spicy kick to it but pairs really nicely with red wine. Steak comes with a side so I got the mushrooms and added on the sweet potato tots. Everything was DELICIOUS! The steak was super tender and melted in my mouth. Even the bread and butter were super yum. This place is known for their cocktails so I decided to try one even though I’m not a cocktail kind of person. I tried the Clover Club which was very good and just reading about the drinks is fascinating. One of the better meals that I have had in Vegas and with all the choices, that’s saying something.

This place is a hidden gem. If you are a tourist and looking for a great dining experience off of the Strip go here. Make reservations.

Absolutely sensational meal and experience at this fantastic restaurant. We booked for 5pm but arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic, thankfully we were okay and the restaurant staff seated us for dinner. I had the rib eye steak, wife had fillet mignon, both steaks were superb, cooked to perfection and sooooooo tasty. We also had garlic mash, button mushrooms and sprouts & swine sides, all were superb. 100% recommend this place if you’re in Vegas.

Little bit off the strip but definitely worth the trip. Was about an $18 Lyft ride from Venetian. Extremely dark in the restaurant so let your eyes adjust. The steaks are half price during happy hour which I think is 5-7. Make reservations early, it's a small place and seating is limited. I had the new york strip and the seasoning was awesome. Also best mac n cheese ever. My meal was $22 since was happy hour. Drinks are normal Vegas prices.

Herbs and Rye is the best kept secret in Vegas. It's not on the Strip, it's not a chain and it isn't owned by a celebrity. Rather, it had to earn its reputation. Food, service and atmosphere are all off the charts. Steaks.........possibly the best I have ever tasted (flat iron and ribeye) Kitchen sink.......outstanding seafood medley Spicy Mussels......best mussels appetizer ever Desserts......OMG!!!!

Don’t let the exterior fool you this is an absolute gem of a place. Albeit the inside is a tad too dark to read the menu (we all had to use our phones flashlights to see) our amazing waiter Ronnie was the best guide you could get. Ronnie walked us through the drinks and dinner menu and not a bad choice could be made. Everyone loved their food from the french onion soup, steak, tagliatelle, steak and lobster, etc we were all beyond satisfied. Loved the vibe, food and drinks. Will be back if we are ever 3,000 miles from home again.

The Ribeye steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. We ordered garlic mash potatoes, mushrooms and asparagus as well that were all delicious. The pork was very dry with no flavor, we let the waiter know and he apologized but we still had to pay for a piece of meat that we only took one bite of, that was very disappointing. The drinks were good, but beware of the up charges included paying extra for a large ice cube in our old fashion. Wait staff was nice. Be sure to make a reservation before going, they get very busy.

Atmosphere has gone downhill. No longer do you receive the sophisticated and professional experience at the bar. I guess all good things come to an end. Brea does not have the personality NOR the sophistication to represent Herbs and Rye. Although she is the boss as she clearly states!

Returned to Vegas and sought out Herb and Rye based on positive pre-COVID trips to this restaurant and it's excellent food. Had bad experiences at other restaurants and was afraid of what this one might turn out to be. I was not disappoint in the service, food, or Mojito. Thank you to a local restaurant that knows how to still treat customers. The NY strip steak, asparagus, and sweet potato tots were excellent. The Mojito hit the spot. Thank you guys!

Excellent place for a romantic dinner! It’s not often I leave reviews where everything was amazing from the service, the food, even the wait time. It’s expensive but worth it. Large enough drink selection. The surf and terf options are enough to feed 2 adults but I was halfway full after trying the meatball appetizers. Steak cooked medium well to my liking and the lobster mostly was taken out which let’s you enjoy it quicker. Dessert was good but nothing unusual. Overall it’s definitely worth trying out. It’s the next day and I still feel full from that dinner!

A real find (thanks Eater) that turned into one of my favorite restaurant experiences. It is off the strip in a very “interesting” area. We were a group of 8 and got there with a friend early. The bar was very crowded but had a great, speakeasy vibe. The bartender forgot our order but when I asked again he insisted on comping us the drinks (I tried hard to pay). Started with sharing the beef tartare and meatballs with a colleague. The tartare was good but the meatballs were incredible, 4 huge meatballs but incredibly (ordered them only because we saw them at the bar). Possibly the best meatballs ever. For a main, had the fillet Oscar style. Steak cooked perfectly, ample crab and asparagus. We shared several sides, the sweet potato tots were most memorable (I don’t eat regular potato so great option for me), Brussels sprouts very tasty, asparagus was excellent. Normally don’t order desserts but we did try the platter and it was also great, especially the warm cookie and the homemade donuts. Our waitress was fantastic, even comped us some shots (fernet branca, definitely an acquired taste). THe meal and service were great, but I really liked the atmosphere, it felt very real for a Vegas restaurant, prices not cheap but not Strip, just a fantastic experience.

Meal was great and was made even better because of half priced steaks for happy hour! We visit Vegas from Idaho a couple of times each year and will always return to Herb's and Rye!

Nice and cozy place. The staff are very professional. Bartenders were the highlight of the evening. Their drinks were incredibly smooth. The steaks were made exactly how we wanted it. Definitely our new favorite place in Las Vegas. Also it is off the strip not far but far enough from the madness out here.

Excellent Restaurant with a fun vibe. This is off the strip, but easy to get to and has parking. They have an interesting drinks menu and our waiter even made us special drinks based on our preferences. They were excellent. Many steaks and other food items are half off during happy hour, which runs until 8pm. The food was outstanding and ample. Steaks perfectly done and the pasta was a great accompaniment. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Service and food was absolutely amazing!! Will always visit when in town. Great place off strip with reasonable pricing for delicious food.

The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere blew our minds. Aly was our waitress, and was so helpful and friendly!! We had the clams as an appetizer, filet & ny strip for our entrees, with asparagus and whiskey shallot potatoes. Everything was mind blowing. We were indecisive about the dessert, so Aly suggested the doughnuts. We were so full, but finished every bite!!

After reading great reviews we tried this place while visiting Vegas. Happy Hour drinks for $5 ... asked what their well liquor was and was surprised they had Jim Bean. The steaks were perfect and the service above expectations. Would definitely recommend and will be back next time in Vegas. Only wish they listed steak prices as is and not 1/2 price happy hour which we were informed was all day.

Wow! This place was recommended by a server at our hotel. We went for a very late dinner at 2am, Vegas will do that to you. First off the vibe was upbeat, classy and unique. The drink menu was phenomenal!! Found my new favorite drink the Lion’s Tail. The food- wow!!!! It was happy hour so steaks were 1/2 off!!!!! Between the two of us we had two cocktails, Cesar salad, 8oz filet, button mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, and a warm cookie for dessert and our bill was only $117 unheard of prices. Our waitress Allie (?) was terrific and attentive!! She even helped us book our next reservation before we left! We rolled out of there and couldn’t be happier! One of our best meals of the trip!

The family and I went there for dinner a few weeks ago. The Filet Mignon was excellent however it's so dark you need your cellphone light to read the menu. It's a cinderblock building with no windows. Other reviewers call it ambiance. Since there were a few couples, we asked to have the check split which they did. We were there for happy hour for 1/2 price steaks. The check comes for two of us $64 plus tax plus an automatic gratuity of $25.60. I ask the waiter why is the tip 40% of $64. He says they charge the tip based on the full price of what the filet mignon would have cost had it not been 1/2 price for happy hour. He then says that I should have read it on the menu. Maybe I would have seen it if it had not been so dark. What BS. They lure you in with 1/2 price then make it back in the overpriced tip.

Been to dinner with friends. It was sensational. No one was disappointed. Staff excellent. Recommended Steaks and Lobster Risotto.

First time here at the recommendation of a friend. Took the waiters recommendation on the many fabulous cocktails to choose from and both were so fun and flavorful. Ordered the filet and it was cooked to perfection. Sides of brussels and asparagus were spot on. If you are looking for a great steak this is the place to go.

Will now add this to a must have when. In Las Vegas, great food, great service and quite the drink menu…

Absolutely FANTASTIC! My fav restaurant ik town from now on! The vibe, the ambient sooo cool. Great service and the foo OMG!! Happy hour for meat and some drinks. You can't go wrong with that see you there in 10 days again

We brought friends with us for their first visit. We hadn’t been in 9 months, and I was worried it wouldn’t be as good as I told them it would be, and that maybe it wouldn’t be as good as I remember. I’m so glad my worries were put to rest. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. We all had steak (happy hour (1/2 off steaks) is currently running from 5pm to 3am). We all started off sharing a couple orders of the little neck clams. The sauce for the clams was so good, I’m surprised someone didn’t drink from the bowl. Definitely get extra bread to sop up that garlic buttery wine sauce. My husband and I ordered ours Pittsburgh style (seared on the outside). I added the horseradish sauce with mine and my husband added mushrooms and onions to his... they were perfectly cooked and tasted excellent. Our friends both got the red wine sauce with theirs and said it was the best they had tasted. We shared our sides of truffle macaroni & cheese and asparagus, which were both delicious, but the hit of the table was the jalapeño creamed corn. There wasn’t any heat added by the jalapeños and only a hint of jalapeño flavor. It was the perfect meal to end our day. With service and food like this, Herbs & Rye will continue to be one of our favorites.

Server was top tier and they know how to make a quality drink we arrived for our reservation at 11:15 on a Wednesday and was seated promptly and had a variety of food. All in all a good experience

I hate to say it but probably won't be going back...It is just not the same..Went over the weekend and between the hassle of calling a week or two in advance to even get a reservation... finding parking (in the hood) and wading through the "hoe patrol" outside it just wasn't worth it...The food used to make me overlook any issues but that was actually the biggest letdown this time..We actually sent two dishes back and had them taken off the bill they were so bad...The steak was just.... well steak...I could have gone to ihop and had the same taste...Maybe it was just an off night...I don't see myself trying again though...Not when there are SOOO many top notch Steakhouses in Vegas...

Overall, the service and drinks were great but unfortunately the food was just not on point, especially for the hype. Happy hour was going on which included food specials and well drinks that were 1/2 off. The spicy mussels were so good, ask for extra bread to dip in the sauce! We had the filet which was a little dry around the edges. It had a large line of gristle through it which I’ve honestly never experienced in a filet. The brussel sprouts were good with nice big pieces of bacon. I was so excited they had crème brûlée for dessert but it was a miss as well. It seemed to be overcooked-not the normal, creamy texture. The top was also not fully brûléed either which left quite a few clumps of just sugar crystals. Our server could tell by looking that the crème brûlée was off so he graciously took it off the bill. Overall, a good experience but not a great one.

What an amazing experience. I recommend making reservations and go during happy hour. I had the filet with a blue cheese crust and truffle Mac and cheese which was a perfect pairing and I left completely satisfied. The Jack Rose cocktail brought I all together. I will absolutely be back!

Herbs & Rye is located where a long-time Las Vegas classic restaurant once delighted Old Vegas diners for decades...my family and I often visited back in the day. Very pleased to say that it still "feels" like Old Vegas. We visited for our son's birthday (four of us with a reservation). Happy Hour very good and we all had either Filets or Ribeyes...also wonderful. What wasn't enjoyable is we were seated at a very small 4-top; it really was meant for two. We had little room for our mains let alone drinks, water, bread, etc. It was difficult to maneuver and enjoy our meal.

I went with a large party, so I would love to go back with my husband or a smaller group, but we loved Herbs and Rye. It has a classy, old Vegas charm that makes you feel warm and invited while dining. Formal or informal, it's a great place to eat. Wonderful cocktails, great steak and Italian. Good for groups or a date.

Not disappointed. Food was yummy and cocktails were terrific. Service was perfection. Definitely will return.

Went to herbs and rye on Thursday evening for the happy hour special and it was wonderful dining experience. Had the New York strip with garlic mash and mushrooms topper., delicious. The people next to me had the pasta dish which also looked good and told me that they come two a month to eat at Herbs and rye.

This place deserves praise for their food quality.. but manage your expectations when it comes to service and atmosphere. Or plan a very slow slow slow evening in the dark. Hopefully we were unlucky and it isn’t always this way!

Fun old school atmosphere with velvet walls candle light dinner feel. Cocktail menu is amazing so many options but the best part is drinks are divided into different eras. So cute! The whole menu looks delicious make sure you go during late night happy hour! We got steak and muscles for half off! Best steak of my life. Delicious! Will definitely go back.

I read reviews of Herbs and Rye on social media and YouTube and we made a point to make reservations while we were in town again. We were a little early, but the wait was short. The vibe inside is similar to a speakeasy. Dim lighting and velvet textured wallpaper. So cool. Seating was socially distanced and masks were requested to be worn until drinks were served. They take their guidelines very seriously. Joaquin was our server and he was so pleasant and professional. I was dying to try one of their craft cocktails. We had the Bees Knees and the Hemmingway Daiquiri. Both were excellent! We chose the NY Strip (Happy Hour pricing!) with the bleu cheese and bacon topper, truffle parmesan steak fries, the Short Rib Agnolotti, at Joaquin's recommendation. Since we didn't order an appetizer, fresh cut baguette and butter were brought to our table. The meal arrived rather quickly, to our surprise. The NY Strip looked exquisite with the melted bleu cheese and 2 strips of pork belly on top. We were expecting pieces of bacon and were so happy to have the delectable pork belly instead. Man, was it delicious! The steak was prepared a perfect medium rare/medium. The truffle fries had a lot of shredded parmesan and were perfectly crispy. The short rib agnolotti was spectacular with rich flavors. We did save room for dessert and ordered the apple pie bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. WOW! It was warm and satisfying. The little chunks of apple in the warm cake like bread pudding was delicious. We left very satisfied and amazed at how inexpensive the check was for 2 craft cocktails, and steak and side dish, pasta, and a dessert. We both agreed the meal was worth twice that price. My hubby said again last night that Herbs and Rye will now be our go-to place in Las Vegas going forward. We dined at Hell's Kitchen in September and we were not happy with the food or service. Herbs and Rye just kicked Gordon Ramsay's ass!

Truly a wonderful experience. Our waiter was very attentive and made our first visit a joy. The food was well prepared and largely portioned. We even received a birthday treat with a candle !

Ate at Herbs and Rye last weekend and it was fabulous!!! First, the "Weekend at the Waldorf" cocktail from the bar was superb...so good I had two. Followed by a wedge salad that had the most tender thick bacon on top...to die for! This was followed by a beautifully cooked to perfection Ribeye steak that filled the plate. It was absolutely amazing and my girlfriends and I were delighted. It also did not hurt the experience that our waiter was fantastic...and was very easy on the eyes. A young Antonio Banderas! Love this place but get reservations...

Location was the original site of the Venetian Italian Restaurant operated by the Ruvo family. It has a very wonderful past and present history dark inside no exterior windows. Great cocktails wonderful staff. No parking at all unless you arrive by 3:00 P.M. or grab a ride share service. Again terrific atmosphere great bone in Rib-eye standing room only while waiting for a table bar area fills fast good times 5 star rating through my eye's.

Unfortunately, mediocre. On a positive point, service was good and attentive. Points for that. One other thing, the broth of the Spicy Mussels was tasty. Mussels themselves were average according to my friend. My friend and I were looking forward to having a meal at a restaurant that was highly rated for superb food and great prices - during Happy Hour. We decided we were going to splurge, so ordered appetizers, sides, as well as our entree. The first thing that disappointed us was the basket of bread. I am an avid bread eater, and have tasted various breads half around the world. Twice. At this rated restaurant, their bread had no taste or texture. Really strange. I've tasted exquisite breads, mediocre breads, and bad breads. This I could not rate. For me not finishing a basket of bread, and/or asking for a refill, is not something I have ever done. Except this evening. One of our appetizers was the Bistecca Flatbread. Sliced Filet Mignon, Mushrooms, Truffle Vinaigrette, Arugula, Mozzarella, Parmesan. Arugula should have been listed first. The flatbread was piled high with arugula, and the other options were probably hidden beneath it, but not enough to taste the other toppings. "Bistecca" indicates that that it should have a good serving of meat, we really didn't find enough to realize it was there. The flatbread did work, but besides the cheeses, the other toppings were far lacking. Our Sides, the Garlic Mash (mashed potatoes with garlic) and Truffle Mac and Cheese, were unremarkable. I was almost sure that the mashed potatoes were powdered (felt a bit on the gritty side) with a few chunks of (maybe) potatoes tossed in. The Truffle Mac and Cheese tasted like Mac and Cheese. Not knowing what truffle would taste like in M&C (or anything else), we were not able to ascertain any additional flavor that might have given us a clue. Main dishes: The Rib Eye Steak was chewy. Period. We've had Rib Eye Steak at other establishments. Better. The Filet Mignon was mediocre. There was a bit of taste from the rub on the crust of the meat, but nothing that made me say it was WOW. Or even Wow. Or wow. All in all, I can't say there was anything to which I could give a WOW. The place was crowded, so apparently there are a lot of people who believe the food at Herbs & Rye is great. We couldn't find anything that was "Wow."

Herbs & Rye has countless things going for it to set it far above most restaurants. A detailed cocktail list with the history of each drink that comprises the first two pages of the menu. A fine dining menu with delicious steaks and accompaniments. A dimly lit room that is sexy and romantic and that hearkens back to a world of yesteryear. A world before eateries become bright and obnoxiously loud. The bartenders are exceptional. Of course, Herbs & Rye is loud. But it is not entirely their fault. They are just very busy. And deservedly so. It is located in a nondescript area on west Sahara. You won't just stumble by it. People have to go seek it out. And they do just that in droves.

The food is very good and good portions. The drinks were amazing, we had a great time. I wish they had a larger building for big parties.

Absolutely incredible meal, service and ambience. This restaurant is a little way away from the strip, but it’s well worth the $15 or so in a cab. Everything about our meal was incredible. The portions were huge, but the quality was also fantastic. The meatballs appetiser is big enough for an entree, or to share. The cocktails are also phenomenal and are a clear reason for their ‘top 50 bars in the USA title’. The service from Chris was exceptional. We would all go back in heartbeat!

We visited Herbs & Rye whilst on a trip to Las Vegas for our honeymoon. We were told to visit by a friend by highly recommended it and we weren't disappointed. FWe visited during happy hour too. Just wow!

This was our first time in Las Vegas. Looking for dinner. So glad we had researched and landed in Herbs & Rye. We walked in without reservations, and were seated immediately. It took a bit to adjust to the low lighting. The music was very loud, as we were directly under a speaker in the main dining room. We adjusted... Andres was our server. He was excellent. I ordered the NY Strip with the sweet potato tots. My husband ordered the Linguini & clams. First..... GET TE TOTS!!! They were so good! The pasta & 4clams were good. I'm glad I ordered the steak during happy hour (1/2 off) because it was just an ok steak. The service is why I would definitely go back to this place!!!

I don’t recall how we found this place but it was amazing. We showed up a little early for our table reservation but we’re able to be accommodated at the bar. Loved the “happy hour” pricing (50% off steaks) and the food was really amazing. Highly recommend! It also appears to serve dinner quite late which is helpful for the locals in the service industry.

Great place. Came highly recommended locally. I would stop short of calling it "high end". Mac and cheese- AMAZING. Button mushrooms- Delish. Filet - perfectly cooked and delish. Meatball app - SSSSOOOO good. Service was ok. In most high end restaurants you don't want for anything even during these times. There was a bit of a lag. No one tried to upsell which is fine but could be a problem (a lot of people just there for drinks). Restrooms need to be updated and cleaned regularly. I would recommend only stocking your bar with higher end booze, If someone asks for a house old fashioned, they should be getting better liquor than what is served. Music was a little much. Too loud and would like to hear more variety.

My fiancé and I came here to celebrate 9 years together. When we walked in we were in awe over the atmosphere. The waitstaff was very informative and friendly. We both got NY strips and shared some sides, everything was absolutely delicious. We also each had a speciality cocktail and although a little pricey (not anymore so than most places in Vegas) the cocktails were incredible. Our server also brought us delicious complimentary donuts because we were celebrating. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Every year we eat at Herb’s and Rye when we visit Vegas for a work conference. This time, service and food preparation slipped a bit. Food: Tasty steak, pork chop and sides, but my filet mignon was served a bit cool. And the sides were not piping hot as they should have been. Pork chop was served hot. Disappointing food temperatures for the filet and sides (mashed potatoes and jalapeno creamed corn). Drinks: Good rye Old Fashioned but seems to have slipped a bit from last year in terms of quality. Service: super slow drink service, shockingly slow. Food service was fine except for the food temperatures. Overall cleanliness: above average Misc: reservations are a must

Our waiter Mason was amazing, his recommendations and knowledge of the menu were spot on. We really enjoyed the drinks and the pork chops were to die for. I’m definitely coming back to Herbs and Rye on my next visit to Las Vegas.

I came to herbs and rye for the happy hour steak dinner and was seated at the bar which nice and the bartenders was very helpful and knowledgeable. The happy hour menu is limited but very good . I had the New York strip with garlic mesh and veggies, yummy and only paid half price. The bartender was also very friendly and helped with drink specials. Will eat here again.

Every trip to Vegas, I have to eat here. Ad usual, it didn't disappiint. My ribeye was AWESOME, so were the mushrooms and the tomato sbisque and grilled cheese. And all at the 1/2 off happy hours pricing

After researching steakhouses for ages before our holiday to Las Vegas I can honestly say Herbs and Rye was the perfect choice. By far the best meal of our holiday and such good value for money. My wife and I had the Ribeye and my mother in law the Fillet. Steaks cooked to perfection, and sides are easily shareable. Our server (Ronnie I think his name was) was amazing. So attentive and happy to talk us through the menu and drinks on offer. Will definitely be returning to Herbs and Rye the next chance we get.

Lovely ambiance accommodating reservations and delicious flat iron steak with super garlicky chimichurri sauce which I didn't mind Even my spinach side you can totally taste the garlic flavor. Good service

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places. Super friendly and the food is very good. Drinks are served well and the feel of the place is nice

Yes, the place is off strip but it’s absolutely worth the detour. Especially during happy hour (5pm to 8pm and 12am to 3am), when selected menu items are half off. It’s really the steaks you wanna hone in on. Prepped and prepared how you like them, they’re everything you want in a good slab of meat. Sizzling, juicy, seasoned and just immensely satisfying. Even the sides were excellent. Pair with a sazerac cocktail (not half off but still worth doing). We genuinely considered coming back the next day - testament to how good the food and service were. Perhaps not surprising seeing how the bar had just snagged Best High Volume Cocktail Bar and Best Bar Team Spirited Awards.

I was pretty amazed with the food! I came here for the steak, it tasted wayyyyyy better than Gordon Ramsay restaurants at The Strip! Cooked perfectly, well seasoned and dayummmmmm it’s surely tasty! But do take note to make reservations beforehand so you get to dine in the restaurant. Their bar deserves a shoutout as well! Their menu goes back to the 1800’s to present, something to check it out! I would be returning if I am back in vegas for sure! A place I will come for the steak!

Very dark old Las Vegas atmosphere. Food is good. NY Strip was cooked perfectly. Mashed potatoes were good.

Second time eating here, and it was just as good! Go for the steak specials! The salads are huge too! The drinks are fun and delicious! Staff was very friendly.

We were sent here by bartenders from another place as somewhere to check out. We were here late at night and ended up with seats at the bar. Our bartender, Lorenzo, was somehow offended by us as he was a jerk. My friend asked him if there was a drink he liked making and they guy rudely shot back that we had to tell him what we wanted. My friend asks that question at many bars to see if a bartender has a favorite drink he likes to introduce people to that may not be what they expect. Ended up making my friend something that was decent but not amazing and then refused to tell us what it was. He poured us drinks we didn't ask for and charged us for them as well. We ordered steak during happy hour, but since we hadn't had enough time after our actual dinner, we shared one. This seemed to irritate him more and it seemed like he was loading up the extra drinks to make up on the tab what he expected us to pay to eat more. We had a ribeye oscar style and the crab meat was apparently canned and far from worth the extra cost. A good bartender can make a place and this time it left us with a bad feeling. The worst part was asking us if we wanted dessert, we said no, and then he pulled two glasses out, poured some rough tasting liquor in them and said "there's your dessert". Maybe some day I can give this place another shot, but it was not a pleasant experience the first time - avoid Lorenzo or don't irritate him (or something).

This place was highly recommended by a friend who was a local. They also knew of the specials program on early reservation specials. We both had steaks and sides. The asparagus side was a large portion size and best shared. We also had a potato side that was rather small for sharing. Both were tasty. The restaurant has an outstanding bar and cocktail menu. The wine list was quite limited. The service was fine. The pricing was lower than the strip and of course the specials were helpful. Parking can be tight.

Excellent staff, nice vibe and good food and good drinks. Staff was very helpful with questions we had, and the happy hour is damn near all day which is awesome.

I think this one of my favourite restaurant in Vegas. Good price! AMAZING FOOD!!! They make very good steak 🥩. Also amazing cocktails 🍸 I think everything about this place is great!! BUT you have to make reservations if you don’t want to wait.

We went off strip after hearing a recommendation for Herbs & Rye and we are so glad we did. The steak was the nicest steak we have ever had, it was melt in your mouth perfection plus, the Happy Hour offer is just brilliant - would 100% recommend visiting here. We also had the Cacio e Pepe and the Cookie Skillet which were also really tasty.

Good happy hour and a nice bar. Service is friendly and efficient. The sliders as an appetizer with our happy hour drinks were very tasty - but the dinner that followed was wholly disappointing. Mediocre wedge salad. The blue cheese dressing was watery and utterly tasteless. Not a hint of blue cheese. The caccia pepe was equally tasteless, lacking flavor, even salt. Finally, the rib eye - did not seem prime or aged, and again, lacked flavor or salt. Was my mom working the kitchen? I won't return.

I walked in to sit at the bar and was told they were reserved. Never heard of barstools being resvered. Young lady at the front made sure I wasn't welcome. Too bad heard great things. Im a local and won't return. I got the message

Do not allow the plain exterior or the dark indoors fool you, we went to two different Steakhouses this past weekend: Herbs and Rye on Friday night and Brand X on the strip Saturday Night. The NY Strip at Herbs and Rye was amazing, as were all the (sharable) sides we ordered, as well as the service was amazing. We went during 'happy hour' and we paid 1/2 the price, and had twice as good steak at Herb and Rye on Friday, than we did on Saturday. This place is a 'must' if you come or live in Las Vegas. We will for sure be back.

Once you get past how dark it is and the line, you will enjoy great creative cocktails and good steaks.

My husband and I ate here our last night in Vegas. We opted to sit in the bar because we didn't know how popular it would be on a Tuesday night. The bartender was very friendly. He was knowledgeable and fun to talk with about per-prohibition cocktails, of which we are enthusiasts. We ordered mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts, along with two of the best rib-eyes we have ever eaten. They were cooked to the prefect temp that we ordered. I don't know how this place is possibly all the way down at #45 in the best steakhouses in Las Vegas, and under Outback????? It's got a great atmosphere and was a complete enjoyment!!

The minute you walk in, you are treated as welcome guests. If you don't have a reservation on a weekend, you will wait, but, no worries, head to their chummy bar & order up a crafted cocktail from Zach, one of their friendly, talented bartenders. Their steaks are done to perfection. So sit back & enjoy a liitle bit of oldtime Vegas.

Best late night happy hour. Great drinks and food. My go to are the rib eye steak and pain killer. Great service and vibes.

Excellent food, Ambience and service. We have a eight-year-old and a seven year old and they love the sliders and the fillets. The filet mignon, corn and spinach is top notch and the service is impeccable.

The food was delicious. The service was a bit slow. I really enjoyed the dim atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.!

When you walk into this place and you see the horse shoe shaped tables in the bar area and the staff ready to help and take your order, you know that this is going to be a classy, upscale experience. The menu is fun as it is separated into eras, and the drinks are classic and fun. I recommend this place. Sit at the bar and enjoy it all! Off the strip and you will feel off the grid!

After hearing about this place from many of the locals we've encountered on our trips over the years we finally decided to give it a try. We made a dinner reservation during happy hour to take advantage of their half-off steak. We arrived a few minutes early, and were very impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of the hostess, Valerie, during our breif wait for a table to be ready. This is an extremely busy place, and I would suggest getting a reservation if you don't want to end up waiting an hour or more for a table. We tried a couple of drinks from their extensive menu, and both were very good. The truffle mac and cheese stood out as the best dish of the night, and the only slight disappointment was the steak itself. Our medium-rare filets came out much more on the rare side than we're used to and were a bit underseasoned. Everything else, from the service to the drinks, to the free birthday dessert provided for my husband was great . This is definitely a Vegas experience I would recommend

We haven’t been to Vegas in years so relied on recommendations from Facebook friends for dinner venues. Herbs and Rye did NOT disappoint! Tons of fabulous food at great prices. This is a must do steakhouse off the strip and away from the pricey hotel restaurants. Easy 10 min drive from the Bellagio. Wonderful service. Ambiance is not fabulous but made it unique. Our table ordered different steak cuts and salmon dish. All were very flavorful, tender and juicy! One side was plenty for four people. Try it out!

Amazing food and staff. Prohibition theme and drinks. Reservations a must. Walk ins are about an hour wait or more.

Friends and I try a different restaurant every month, and decided to give Herbs and Rye a try on a Thursday at 5:00 when they opened. The place was packed, many tourists were dropped off by Taxi as we entered. We noticed many people using their cell phones to read the menus, and indeed had to use ours to read it as well. One of our group ordered a steak and was not impressed by the cooking or quality, another ordered a Caesar Salad, and two of us ordered the Clam Linguine in white wine sauce. None of our group thought the food was good enough to ever go back.

Today's meal was the first opportunity I had to take my wife to H&R in the 5 years I've been going here. Its bar-none the best steak place I've gone to with any level of consistency. The drinks (categorized by era) play really well into the history that LV has to offer (see the Mob museum as an addendum to all of the amazing history this town has), and the steaks are incredibly well priced (even before *steak happy hour*). And I must say - if there's any constant of this place: its the incredible, and knowledgeable service. This is the #1 thing that keeps me coming back to this restaurant time and time again. In short I will continue to visit this restaurant every single time I visit Las Vegas so long as 3 things remains constant: great drinks, great steak, and great service. Thank you H&R for an incredible meal yet again!

Service and food were outstanding. It has been a long time since we've had steaks of this high quality. We went during Happy Hour and it was still pricey, but well worth it. Would definitely return next time we are in town.

I wad so looking forward to eating there. My friend and I both had the rib eye. Both of our steaks very extremely fatty. The macaroni and cheese was bland, as was the mashed potatoes. A chocolate martini was $20. The service was okay but not great. I have eaten at about 10 of the las vegas steak houses and I would put this one at the bottom of the list.

Another great evening here at Herbs & Rye. We were in the area, and stopped by about 4:30 (they open at 5), and got in line for dinner… Yes, this place is so good, a line starts forming as early as an hour prior to opening. Since our visit was spur of the moment, and we had no reservations, we sat at the bar for dinner & drinks. We saw Lorenzo, who is an amazing and friendly bartender, and sat in his area. Happy Hour starts at 5pm, and all the steaks and many other menu items are 1/2 off. The food came out fast and tasted great. Our drinks were made perfectly. Highly recommend!

Amazing - again! Booked a table for post wedding family dinner. Didn’t want a fuss so no mention of this beforehand. On arrival we were seated quickly and myself and new husband were brought a glass of champagne which was a lovely touch. Service was as excellent as ever and food and drinks as delicious as ever. Then we were presented with a celebratory dessert plate too. Can’t praise this restaurant too much and always recommend it to anyone visiting Las Vegas. If you’re considering booking here - don’t delay. Tables go quickly and for good reason. This is a wonderful restaurant and we look forward to our next visit!

Great food but dont go here unless u use Lyft or uber. NO PARKING. BAR NEXT DOOR TOWS. $335 on top of dinner. Better options other places. Great food. BAAAD LOCATION!!!!

There were aspects of this experience that were definitely a 5/5. But, there were a couple of annoying aspects that kept me from rating it high. The food was very good. Our waiter, Ronnie, did a great job. He is a pro. The drink menu is wonderful. All of these are good reasons to go. However, I have two complaints that will keep me from going back any time soon. First, it is way too crowded. They put us in seating in the bar. We could have been fine with that. The bar is very cool. But, then they fill the bar up with people and even let them stand around in there while they wait for seats to open up. It is a small area. So, we were constantly having people lean into our table. Second, and related, many of these people were dressed grossly. One lady was wearing spandex shorts and a tank top and we spent an entire dinner with her 12 inches from our faces. These are selfish, bad choices by owners/managers. There is no reason to keep it that packed. And, while we (and many people, obviously,) like to be dressed casually, there is no reason for having spandex-clad old ladies leaning on our table while we spend $100s trying to enjoy an upscale meal. And, to be clear, we definitely did not request bar seating. We made the reservations well in advance. The rest of the restaurant looked crowded too - although people were not standing against tables in the rest of the restaurant.

Great ambiance and half price steak during happy hour - well worth the visit! Parking is a little difficult, so leave yourself some extra time. Make sure you book so that you get to enjoy to delicious discounted steaks!

My wife and I came to Herbs and Rye during their late night happy hour (12am-3am) and it was well worth it! We both had the New York strip steak and agreed that it was the best tasting steak we have ever had! No sauce or anything is needed. My wife had the mac n cheese as a side and it was also delicious. The waiter did a great job helping us pick out drinks as well. Would highly recommend Herbs and Rye, especially during happy hour so you can get half off their steaks.

We got to the restaurant and hour before our reservations because it was NYE and we wanted to get off the strip before they closed it down. We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I wish we would have stayed there for dinner. Because the dining room atmosphere is no where near the atmosphere of the bar. If you only eat one thing, eat the steak tar tar - it was incredible. This place would be 5 star but for the step down in the dining area.

The atmosphere and the drinks here are amazing. Was SO looking forward to this meal. We both ordered the filet with bearnaise sauce, the asparagus and the "creamed corn". We ordered the steaks medium. When the came out, mine was cold because it was pretty much raw. My husband said his was cooked properly, however, the steak was very chewy( strange for a filet mignon). Had mine sent back and when it came back out, it was cooked more to my liking but also very chewy. The creamed corn was not at all creamy, just corn with some jalapenos added in. Maybe we caught them on a bad night......overall, just sad that it wasn't what I had hoped for.

This was our first time here with friends. From what I understand - getting a reservation takes quite a while - so book early. A big part of this is probably that during "happy hour" most of the menu is 1/2 price. So for a normal $64 filet - you pay $32. All of the steaks are priced this way and quite a few other things on the menu. The atmosphere is very casual. The bar offers a huge variety of specialty cocktails. Watching the bartenders is an amazing experience in itself. We were seated promptly for our reservation. We have the carpaccio for an appetizer which was served with fresh arugula and a nice dressing - would highly recommend. Most of us had steaks, but one person had the steak and lobster which was HUGE! Steaks are ala carte, but there are a lot of side choices. Steaks were done nicely -- mine was a bit too rare for "medium" - but not a deal breaker. We also shared the dessert combo which included a full size creme brulee, bread pudding (delicious with small chopped apples), warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and beignets. Accompanied by 3 sauces. More than enough for 4 people to share -- almost too much for two. You are also allowed to eat at the bar - but you need to get there early to get a seat. Would recommend.

Off the Vegas strip, make the trip here. Well worth the extra effort. During happy hour, which is a pretty long time frame for happy hour which is nice, they offer all steaks at 1/2 price, amazing deal. An old school steak restaurant, no fuss. Do make reservations though, it seems the lines can be long during happy hour. First off if you like cocktails, you will love this place. All hand crafted cocktails to imbibe in. Only review is going to be the Filet since all 4 of us ordered it! We all got it prepared differently and when served everyone's was cooked to perfection! All the way from rare to medium. It was melt in your mouth, great piece of meat. Get off the strip and go here!!!

My fiancé and I decided to dine here for our dating anniversary as we celebrate our last year before being married. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was wonderful and reminded me of the old school Vegas vibes. The happy hour steak deals were perfect with each of us getting the New York Strip and we shared the truffle Mac& Cheese as well as the Garlic Mash. My fiancé got the Weekend at the Waldorf cocktail and I got the Leap Year of which I would highly recommend both. Mason our server provided a great deal of information both about the menu specials as well as the cocktail list and even the well cocktail specials. For two steaks, two drinks and two sides under $150 this is arguably the best deal in Vegas as the steak is one of the best I’ve ever had!

I found a bar and restaurant that’s providing kingly quality at pauper prices. The dimly lit space exudes prohibition era charm, and their cocktail menu is a journey through history, organized by eras—from the Gothic Age to the Tiki Boom. Signature drinks like the Old Fashioned are crafted to perfection, but the real secret? Their unbeatable happy hour: from 5-8 PM and midnight-3 AM, steaks and select menu items are 50% off. And trust me, the discount doesn’t apply to the quality—each steak is cooked to perfection. If you're in Vegas, this is one spot you can't skip!

This restaurant was suggested to me by a Lyft driver during a recent trip to Las Vegas. It has the atmosphere of an old school Las Vegas restaurant. They have an extensive menu. The steaks are great and they have lots of side dishes to choose from. Be sure to go during Happy Hour when the entrees on the menu are one-half price, a great savings. I would highly recommend Herbs and Rye and will definately return.

Was told this was a good place to taste different Scotch Whiskeys. The outside is deceiving, looks old and well used. Inside it was dimly lit. Bar was crowded. Was seated for dinner and was advised "it is happy hour". Certain dishes are reduced to 1/2 price AND included a side dish. Prices were not particularly high to begin with, so 1/2 price was an excellent deal. The meal was prepared well and appetizingly delivered. The sauces were excellent. Bring a small flashlight to read the menu and MAKE CERTAIN YOU MKE A RESERVATION!

We went for our anniversary dinner and it was during happy hour. The steaks were half price and house wine was $10 per glass. The cocktail list was extensive and creative. We enjoyed our steaks and sides. The brussel sprouts were delicious. The shrimp cocktail was great too. The best parts about this place is the atmosphere and the service. Andres was the best waiter we have had in a long time. So funny and yet professional at the same time. We liked the decor of the place as well - like stepping back in time to old Vegas. Highly recommend this place for a fun evening.

This restaurant was referred to me while waiting in line at the Palace Station Oyster Bar. They were having trouble getting Reservations a a proffered hour. I decided to try, I took. Reservation at 10 PM. Then I looked again and was able get it changed to 5 Pm. Then I decided to change it till later and found a seat at 9:30. Yahoo! I showed up at 9:30 and table was ready. I was seated on Bar side. Table was great. Andre and his assistant Tony took great care and service was friendly and prompt. I ordered the Wedge which was really nice. It had pork belly bacon which was a treat. I ordered the Flank Steak and had it sliced and the Oscar Style. OMG it was amazing. Steak was tender, asparagus was perfect, top that off with crab meat and bernaise sauce, it was nothing less then perfect. No sides ordered, My visit to this restaurant was nothing but perfect. Bread was ok but too much other good to talk about. See you in December.

Herbs and Rye was very nice. The Pros: very polite and professional staff, nice looking interior, food and drinks I'd give a 7/10. They were nice and brought my daughter a dessert for here 21st birthday. The Cons: My NY strip steak had a little more cartilage than I'm use to. Not a big deal, the meaty part was delicious. Some of the other patrons were wearing t-shirts and shorts. We were nicely dressed and it didn't match the mood. Parking was a little tight there, but at least it was free. There were 8 of us and not all of us ordered steaks and alcoholic drinks and the total bill (including Tax & tip) came out to $605 - about $75 a person. I know it's a little hefty but I'm sure that's still cheaper than "on the strip" steak houses.

Amazed we saw the reviews on YouTube and TripAdvisor you need to experience by yourself . We came from monterrey Mexico a place that we love making carnes asadas so Totally recommend

Known only to the locals, Herbs & Rye is a great bar with good food. Loads of specialty drinks. Dark, quiet atmosphere. The only "show" is the artist mixocologist behind the bar who is also fun to talk to. If you want a relaxed place without the typical Vegas glitz, this is the place. Highly recommended.

I found this place 6 year ago, and evey time in in the city I come over for dinner. The food, service, ambiance and cocktails are absolutely great.

This restaurant is phenomenal! It was our favorite dinner on our last trip, and one of our favorite dinners in Vegas overall. Reservations are absolutely needed, and there’s still a line before the place opens. Service was excellent from start to finish. Food was amazing and timed well. They have a lot of interesting drinks!

We came as a group of 4 friends for a very late dinner after a long day’s play on the strip and had the best meal I’ve had in Vegas. We ordered 4 steaks and 2 pasta dishes between us and with the happy hour this was excellent value. The food came quickly and was all perfectly cooked and delicious. The service from Aly was exceptional. She was attentive and pleasant but not overbearing. The overall atmosphere was really good-even at 2:30am! Would recommend this place to anyone.

Get reservation during happy hours, get 1/2 off steak, add interesting sides, for a great meal. Desserts are good, Good tp great menu, friendly atmosphere, good crowds, This is our first choice for restaurant when we come to Vegas/

We are typical but seasoned Vegas tourists. Have read great reviews about Herbs and Rye for some time but rarely venture for from the strip/downtown. This time we made it a point to try H/R. We arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar. Fast service- perfectly made Manhattan. Seated at precise reservation time. Server was Ronnie. He started by educating us on the extensive and very nicely laid out cocktail menu. We had the little neck clams appetizer. Excellent. Ronnie had encyclopedic knowledge of the menu. We settled on steaks. Filet for her. Ribeye for son. NY Strip Oscar for me. All were prepared perfectly. The Oscar topping was probably the best I've had and they definitely aren't stingy with the crab. Also had a jalapeño corn side that was terrific. We were all extremely pleased. We didn't have a bad meal all week but H/R was a highlight. And Ronnie was the best server that we encountered during this trip. That's saying something in Vegas! Thank you.

There for happy hour! At was as advertised. The drinks were excellent. Our steaks were very good and cooked as ordered. We really liked the atmosphere, was very Dark initially but once your eye’s adjust it is very old school feeling. We will make this one of our regular eats

Herb and Rye is a phenomenal restaurant. It excels in all areas of it’s operation, far beyond even more upscale establishments. The best part of this restaurant is that while it could be pretentious, it absolutely isn’t and offers one of the best values for our money we have had in a long time. The exterior of the building is unassuming, windowless, and leads newcomers to wonder if they’ve made the right choice for the evening. Opening the door dispels any doubt. The interior is gorgeous: exposed brick, elegant wood, and dark red wallpapering, all working together to create a rich ambiance reminiscent of a prohibition speak easy. The staff are brilliant at their jobs. Systems are in place that provide an amazing experience for the diners. They do a fabulous job of being incredibly attentive without being overbearing or disruptive. Water glasses never went empty and cocktails were refreshed with perfect timing. Flatware was replenished with each course. Allie was helping us tonight with Angel backing her up. Allie was charming and knowledgeable. She tailored recommendations to our preferences and was spot on with everything from drinks to starters to entrees. She checked in on us appropriately. It was very apparent that she keeps a close watch over her tables at all times. I greatly appreciated it when she brought a glass of soda water and a towel when she noted me dabbing at a spill on my blouse. That kind of attention (and kindness) is very rare these days. Late in the meal the general manager was helping as needed and introduced himself. Mike was helpful and personable. We complimented everything about our evening and expressed our desire to return on Sunday. Unfortunately, they are closed, but Mike went out of his way to help us with reservations at their sister restaurant. The most obvious area a restaurant should excel in is their culinary offerings. Herbs and Rye does not disappoint. Their mixologists have cultivated a fantastic selection of cocktails from across the ages. Their wine, beer, and liquor selections are mostly familiar staples. They are not gimmicky, but honest goodness in a glass. The food menu is brief, but full of delightful bits for any taste. We tried the beef tartare and the little neck clams. The Dijon and capers made the tartare pop. Simple salt and pepper elevated the crostini in an unexpected way. The bouillabaisse-esque broth with the clams was so delightful that to took an incredible amount of self control not to just lift the bowl to my lips and drink! For starters, my husband had the Caesar salad and while I originally ordered the tomato soup, Allie suggested a seasonal off-menu special of butternut squash soup, which I was delighted with. The Caesar was very good, fresh and perfectly dressed. DH reliably ordered the rib eye, the rarest temperature they offer. I was torn between the New York strip and the short rib ravioli (I don’t recall the name or spelling of it!). Allie suggested the ravioli. The rib eye was perfection. The Brussels sprouts side was the perfect accompaniment. The ravioli were not what I expected but were so very delicious. Although we were nearly fully stuffed, we were surprised with a mini donut desert to celebrate our anniversary. We were touched, and they were perfectly delightful, light and airy with perfect sweetness. Any of the parts of Herbs and Rye could out shine the others, but that doesn’t happen here. Everything works in harmony to accentuate and compliment. I cannot imagine it’s easy, but the people of Herbs and Rye make it look nearly effortless. Our dining experience was perfect in every way.

Food always spot on. Drinks better than good! Ramos gin Fizz excellent This place is a must try. We have been about 30 times!

Been trying to get here for a decade. Usually in Vegas for business meetings--this really isn't the best spot for that unless you really know your dining companions. It's quite loud and tight. Only a handful of tables that could comfortably seat more than 4. I ate alone at the bar and the bar staff was incredible. Not only artisan cocktail makers, but great waiters as well. I had a masterfully made Manhattan, a glass of tempranillo, the wedge salad (ridiculously big for 1) and the ribeye. Get there before 8 and the ribeye is a steal at $44 I believe. The 16oz size is legit and it was cooked perfectly medium rare as I ordered. I wasn't there for happy hour but it was still a solid value for Vegas. They have a good system for walk-ins for the bar. It's a little tight to enjoy a cocktail while you wait for a seat to open up but people were friendly. The cocktail menu is a fun, interesting read. I had the bartender recommend a local rye for my Manhattan and he nailed it. H&R is more than a "locals" place--it's like any hidden gem you'd fine in a major metro area. It's out of the tourist center but has a mix of tourists and locals. There were lots of couples out for a special night, conventioneers like me, and small groups.

We went on a Thursday night and it was very busy so we waited a while for a table but didn't mind having a few cocktails at the bar while waiting. Meal was very good- we both had steaks which were very good and shared asparagus and truffle fries- also very nice. This is a great restaurant, away from the tourist side of Vegas. We loved it!

We visited this off Strip restaurant on the recommendation of my daughter and son-in-law. We were not disappointed! We were not able to get reservations in advance (bookings for a decent time were 2-3 weeks out). So we got there at opening (by the time the doors open there was a fairly large line- and made a beeline to the bar (the only open seating). The vibe is old Vegas- and the menu has a cool section of drinks through the years. The service at the bar was excellent (and very entertaining to watch). Our food was outstanding (one of the best filets I have ever had). Sides are alacarte (but very good). And for dessert- get the donuts- you won’t be sorry!

Great service, food and drinks. The cocktails were amazing, steaks on point and the service 10/10. This place has a really cool atmosphere, really dark inside but it didn’t ruin our experience, we will definitely be back!

Don’t be fooled by the outside of the building. Inside, it is nice. Long bar with booths across for dining and 2 dining rooms...1 smaller off the bar area and other is large. Candle on each table and it provided enough light for us to easily read the menu. Saw many using the light on their phones but we didn’t need to. After you are inside for a bit of time, your eyes adjust to the darker lighting. Menu is old style. We had wonderful service all night. Drinks are not on the Happy Hour pricing but steaks and other select food items are at 50% off. So, our NY Strip 14 ounce was only $22.00 and it was more than enough to share. Cocked perfectly at Medium. One side is included, as well! Great deal. Extras are $9.00. The French onion soup is $12.00 and we loved it. Used dishes, glasses, cutlery promptly removed from the table. We had planned on dessert but we had no room. 2 French onion soups, 1 NY Strip steak with side, 2 wines and 2 regular cocktails came to about $ 90.00 before gratuity. We were there 2 hours by choice. Parking lot around building but it’s tight. Reservations a MUST. Very popular place. We enjoyed our meal very much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Proud to call Las Vegas HOME.

This restaurant looks nothing from the outside, but open the door and inside it's a time machine of the 1950's. Food is excellent, service is excellent. Very highly recommended, but either get there early or preferably make a reservation because it's a very, very popular place.

Linguine and clams $22, Filet Mignon $32, New York steak $28 all on happy hour pricing! Don't care for the dining room as it has no ambience at all. The bar top is the best if you can get it!

I've eaten here twice and both times were perfection. Amazing drinks; food cooked flawlessly. Definitely try to go during happy hour and keep in mind this place is booked roughly 1.5 months out.

Try for a reservation if you can. We arrived at 4:40 and there was already a few in line for the 5pm opening. Great local people and amazing food and drink. Excellent service, wide variety of food choices, and expert cocktail crafts. Would highly recommend the muscles. I enjoyed the pork chop special with figs and garlic mashed potatoes. Yummy! Others had chicken and pasta, strip steak, and filet mignon. No complaints only gushing with gastric glee.

We went to celebrate our anniversary and had the added surprise of finding out about our first grandbaby on the way. The food was wonderful. The lighting is a little hard on the older eyes - but they brought us another candle for our table and that helped. Service was excellent. Pricey - but worth it.

This night was very special night for me. It was my late birthday celebration. Food here is always amazing. I feel special all the evening. They make a very good cocktail for me, what was not in the menu. Love this restaurant!!! 😁😁😁😁

We went on a Tuesday with a 5pm (opening) reservation. There were people already lined up at the door, seems to be a popular spot for the locals. We had a booth in the bar area. The service was excellent. We had the salmon (medium) and a filet (medium rare). Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. Very good wine and cocktail selections. I highly recommend and suggest having reservations in advance.

We visited on a Momday night, and glad I had booked as it was very busy. Staff were all great and very attentive. We both had the shrimp ( prawn ) strater., and steaks for mains. Food was excelent, and side portions were enough for 2 to share. Air-conditioning was a little chilly as we had it above our table. Over all a great evening with lovely food, and a friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend Herbs and Rye. Ps I had a complementary. creme brulee as it was my birthday. Nice tough and very tasty.

Sensational good, drinks and service. Best meal we had on our week in Vegas! Highly recommended . Can't wait to go back

Very busy place. Make sure to make reservations. Parking is a hard to find. It us VERY dark inside. My wife needed a flashlight to read the menu, and from what I saw, she was not alone. Portions are large. We split a Caesar salad and it was still more than enough. We had ribeye steaks, and could have shared one as well. Not the best I have ever had, but good. Wish I would had ordered it without the house rub. Pretty spicey hot. The macaroni and cheese was yummy. Prices are still on the high side, even during the half off happy hour. Would recommend it, just not sure I'd go back again.

We had a great dinner here. We were baffled that there were half-price happy hour steaks on Friday night. It made the dinner much more reasonably priced. The servings were quite large, flavors great. You have to order sides separate from the steaks, but the sides are gigantic (definitely sharing portions). The cocktail menu is also huge, and the drinks are very well made. It was very bustling and noisy, but a cool vibe.

We went here for a business dinner for 12 people. Reservations were really easy online and they had our table ready right away. We were there at 7:00pm and they gave us 1/2 off of everything! Not sure if that's a normal occurrence or special circumstance. We all had steaks and they were done to our satisfaction. The side dishes were ok - nothing really to brag about. But the cocktails were really fun! On the menu they give you the history of the drinks and what era they are from. All in all, it was a good meal with great drinks.

Pleasant overall experience, however, we received the incorrect flatbread orde, the pasta was good, the mac & cheese was a little too salty and the cocktails were average for Vegas, nothing outstanding, just standard. More of a bar scene/vibe. The sister restaurant provides more of a classy feel. Our server seemed distracted and placed the wrong item for our order and forgot to bring a garnishment for a cocktail ordered. Fun but a little disappointing experience from what was expected.

For our 50th bdays. Saw this on TA And this place delivered on food and service. Great experience at a very reasonable price. Place was packed for good reason. Thank you. Take an Uber and go.

Old school, classy steak house deceptively concealed as a non-descript strip mall joint. The food was delicious. The staff were fantastically attentive. The atmosphere was s-o-o worth it. The prices are on the upper end but check out there "Happy Hour" 50% off times during the week. You will be very pleasantly surprised.

Herbs and Rye was recommended by a local while I was here on vacation. I took my staff out to dinner here and everything from service to food to cleanliness was perfect. All steaks cooked exactly as ordered, and there were 12 of us that ordered them! Will definitely come back on my next work trip.

Service was superb. Excellent steaks. Would recommend for any occasion. Glass was never empty waiters were very attentive. The food here is really good, without the high price of the strip.

Got a recommendation for this restaurant from a local. Known for their 1/2 price steaks during happy hour and late night. This isn’t a strip location, but off the beaten path and deserves a visit. I was dining solo and enjoyed the bar seating and the suggestions of the bar tender. The menu is extensive and the steaks are delicious! I will visit Herbs and Rye in my future visits.

The best steak house in Las Vegas. I have been to Golden Steer ,Primal and many places on the strip. This restaurant is my favorite.Excellent service, so many award winning drink options. You must make a reservation.

Our community group went because they had excellent reviews and they promised the group tables in the dining room. When we got their they split the group between the dining room and the bar. Unfortunately, we were stuck in the bar. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The music and noise are overwhelming. We had eight couples at our table and not one of them liked their food. Most had steak on the half price deal( which is really no deal) just expensive made tolerable. I had the iron steck because of a review and it was chewy and tasteless. My wife had a fillet which she said was the woase steck she had in Vegas, The couple across from us had the shrimp scampi which he said was over powered with garlic to the point of being inedible. The wait staff was probably the saving grace to a one star review. They automatically charged a tip of 26% which was on the full price of the steak, Parking is a nightmare.

Amazing spot for happy hour. The absolute best cocktails we had during our stay in Vegas, our service was impeccable and our server made fabulous recommendations. 10/10 and will definitely be back the next time we are in Vegas!

The Food drinks and atmosphere were great...But you can't hear yourself think no less talk to each other....Many people at work said they had the same complaint

Ali was absolutely amazing! Best waitress we have had since coming to Vegas. I don’t know what you guys pay her but she deserves triple that amount. Very very happy with our trip here. Food was amazing as well. I really enjoyed the drink selection
This place is terrible
The bartenders are terrible. They cannot serve a proper cocktail to save their lives. Even worse is the customer service, which is clearly not a concern for either the managers or the owner. They are rude, ignorant, and undeserving of a single dollar of your money.
