After work one day my buddy recommended we eat dinner at this place. I'm glad he did. The food is of excellent quality as well as the service. The portions were large enough to fill me up (I've got a decent appetite).

Went with about 20 people for a sunday lunch. The food was amazing.. The chips and salsa was very good. They have big cups for your beverages. I will be going back...

The food is on the greasy side. Especially the nachos! But man oh man, that salsa is soooooo tasty and soooo spicy. My uncle orders the salsa by the quart and takes it home.

The Gold Standard in Dallas for Tex Mex. Excellent Sausa, Quality Food and a very loyal Client List and one really nice thing is when you return, the same waiters and waitresses are working for you.

Ben going to herrera's for years. If you want real Tex me done right this is the place. I have about everything it's all good

I am a fan of almost any decent Tex-Mex, but Herrera's was a disappointment. The food was okay, but not great, and when my soda didn't taste right the wait staff I asked to replace it seemed bothered to be asked to help a customer. I clearly asked for "Coke" and several minutes later was brought a bright red soda, which I again sent back before finally getting a still pretty poor-tasting coke (messed up soda machine, perhaps?). The atmosphere is also lacking with small tables packed together in limited space and unimaginative décor. I will not be back.

I have been coming here for 10 years and my husband has been coming here for 30+ years. We absolutely love this Herrera's! We almost always get the same thing and they all know what we want from drinks to meal :)

There's not a lot to say about Hererra's other than it's the real deal if you're looking for Tex-Mex. Nothing flashy about this out-of-the-way gem. It's a simple building with a really good, simple menu of Mexican food classics. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great enchiladas and tacos. Fresh salads and guacamole. And the price is very reasonable. This place is an Oak Cliff institution. Try it and you'll see why it's been around so long. Adios!

I have been eating here since 94. It is my favorite mexican restaurant. The hot sauce is hot but the best i know of. I eat two cups by myself. The best dish is the Joseph. I have eaten here alot and have never had a bad meal or experience. Part of my extended family believes only in Tachitos, but they are doing it all wrong.

I discovered this little gem back in October of 2013 when I started a new job in the area. I am now a regular, hitting it at least once a week on most occasions. The bean soup is absolutely fabulous!! Not cilantro heavy like so many other Mexican restaurants, but with a really good, smokey flavor. The platters are generous servings, and reasonably priced for tge quality and quantity. My favorites are the crazy nachos (beef, chicke, beans, guacamole, cheese, and jalapenos), the tacos, and the chili. They also have breakfast offerings all day but not breakfast hours. Service is always polite and friendly. Definitely far superior food for less money than most of the Tex-Mex chain restaurants that so many people swear by. Come here instead and you will not be disappointed.

Great service, and fast from order to table. Lunch specials are plenty and tasty. Guacamole is fresh and chunky. Beans are fabulous. Chicken in the tacos and enchiladas is moist and tender. Salsa definitely has a kick!

This really is just your basic Tex-Mex joint. Being in Oak Cliff, there are other standouts nearby that trump Herrera's. But the one thing Herrera's has that the others don't is top-notch hot salsa! It is truly that good. Also, it is BYOB which is always a good thing for a night out on a budget!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and they serve the best TEX Mex by a long shot. The salsa is addictive along with their flour tortillas. I hate that they are closed on Monday and Tuesday but they deserve their days off. My favorites are the crazy nachos…no restaurant comes close. Sour cream chicken enchiladas are great too. Not a fancy place but once you eat their food you’re hooked.

Ate here for the first time . It was fabulous! Best Mexican food ever! We had a sampling of all and everything was great! Highly recommend! Great for families, casual, no alcohol.
Best Tex-mex in OC
My husband has been eating here since he was in the womb. No matter where we live, we'll drive over here for the specials (I like Pepe) and the bean soup. BYOB. Closed on Tuesdays.
